If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right. It wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Listen to thanks, Dad. on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Wake up, wake up in the morning. Mike Deeds writing this week's next bit. Now Bobby's on the mic so you know what this is, this is the Bobby Vaughy Vaughn.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Bobby's big. Stories. The school's evacuated as a kid brings an explosive to show and tell. Oh, let's see. I wonder if there are any parents out there that would call us if they had a story about their kid accidentally taking something to school, they shouldn't. Now, it doesn't have to be your meth. Oh, yeah, no. You know, you're right, right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Your meth. I took a bullet. So that would be one, right? That they just grabbed. And from what you guys tell me, you can't control a kid all the time. Correct. Yeah, so it's tough. Especially when you have four.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everybody at junior high school had to be evacuated after a kid brought in an explosive device to show and tell. It was not the normal fire drill for children because, well, it wasn't a drill and there wasn't a fake fire. But a historic incendiary device, which is something that would explode. The item was presented in class and the school was calmly evacuated. The school said all unnecessary processes were followed. It sounds like it was an old bomb or something, like an old, it doesn't say. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:04:36 But if they're, yes. If they're saying historic, yes. Like an old. Oh, mine? Probably. You know, like, one of those, like that you step on? No, I know what our mind is. I never thought.
Starting point is 00:04:46 I think about a mine. I think it would have said grenade, right? They didn't say anything. He brings down like a missile launcher. Check this out. That's from the Daily Mail. Yeah. And I bet you, he just thought it was something cool to take.
Starting point is 00:05:01 His parents might have even thought it was something cool and old to take, not knowing that it could step. explode. And maybe it couldn't still explode, but it was one of those where you better just get everybody out just in case. Southwest, there's another flight story, which yesterday we learned what the flight deck means. It means it's the other word for cockpit. Right. And then Amy went a little too long on elaborating why we don't call. It was just a thing, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But here's another story. Southwest passengers evacuate a smoke-filled plane after a smartphone and a seat burst into flames. How does the phone catch on fire? Let me tell you this. I'm on my phone 24.
Starting point is 00:05:35 hours a day. I don't know how it, if any phone was going to catch on fire, it will be mine. And it never has. Does it say the brand of phone? Well, let me get into it. Passters were forced to evacuate after a phone battery caught on fire. But like, I can't even see my battery because it's in my phone, right? You can't get to that. No, they have to open that up. So everybody saw the smoke. It filled the back of the cabin. The incident occurred. 107 passengers were aboard the flight. They were going to Houston. A smartphone started smoking, filling the cabin, a seat caught on fire. Like, what is this?
Starting point is 00:06:09 Like a flip phone? Zach Moore's flip phone? Yeah, I don't know. That's why I'm curious about it. But sometimes, you know, I need a charger and I'll grab one at a gas station. Like if I'm traveling, I'm like, oh, I need this charger. And then those get really, really, really, really hot. Like the crappy chargers? Yes. And then I get nervous that, like, while I'm charging my phone, something's going to catch on fire. Yeah, sometimes if I can't get any charge on my phone, I just put a lighter under it and burn the bottom of it. And hopefully it'll, like, generate power. That work?
Starting point is 00:06:36 No, no, no. No. But next up, new research finds the optimal time kids should dedicate to homework in an evening. Like the amount of time or exactly what time we should be doing it? Hey, take a breath. No, because I really like to know. I know, I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Let's take a breath. Like, should we do it at, yeah, let's not be. Is 6 p.m. ideal or should we only do it for two hours or is four hours? So this is what that. It's like the duration. Okay, duration. Oh. We're all going to just have, we're in a good place.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Listen, we have a good place. Listen, we have a good life. We have a good job. Whatever it is, we exceed it. Go ahead. Spending more than 70 minutes on homework only produces very small gains. 90 to 100 minutes causes performance to decline about an hour. And that hour doesn't have to be consecutive.
Starting point is 00:07:21 But they say if you do about an hour a night dedicated, that is the perfect amount and not really much more. Now, there are times where we have to do more, just to work in general. There are times you have to do less. but you could also be that kid that just crushes dude I would go home I did homework for a living not even my own shouldn't brag about that
Starting point is 00:07:42 no he made money on that's what I did that's cool I had no money so I would be in seventh grade doing 10th graders homework having to learn it by the time I got a 10th grade I'll be like are you kidding I've been cheating for years giving kids homework
Starting point is 00:07:54 I already done that homework I got this well it's sort of like the opposite here I'm 43 doing a 7th graders homework but I bet it's the same like I had to learn it in the same way that you had to learn it. And I'm not comparing us to those ages, our mental capacities. Yes. But you have to learn again, right, what they're doing. Yes. And it's just, it takes us longer than an hour. And you're like, yeah, two hours. A little bit. They're talking
Starting point is 00:08:18 about schools as well. Like how much you give. They're not just going, hey parents. Yeah, it's like school should only give out enough that would be an hour. Right. That doesn't happen. No, it doesn't. Take a breath. We're going to move on. We're going on the next door. It's not happen. Yeah, we're good. know, you feel good about that? Yeah. I mean, sometimes honestly, we just don't get it done. Yeah, we're going to move on, though. I'm like just, just, we didn't get it done.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Like, we're probably just going to move on the segment though. You're going to take a, take a, yeah, and those dang quizzes on schoology or whatever. Do you ever take those? Oh, my gosh. So I go in here and I take the quiz and then I'm like, well, I feel like I got every one of them right. And it's got 50 last night. We just didn't know how to do it. We got the answer, right?
Starting point is 00:08:57 I was trying to move on. Okay. Yeah, I felt that. I mean, it was just a practice around. Then he, my son got. do it, but I got a 50. And I was like, how did I get a 50? I know that I got these right. I asked Alexa. Exactly. So, anyway, we're going to move on to that. What? Did you almost say a bad word? No, I was saying she, yeah, I thought you said. She taught me wrong. When I asked my device to teach me
Starting point is 00:09:23 how to do it, she taught me wrong. Yeah, we're going to move on then. You could? 50. It's not even passing. And my daughter's like, I'd be? That's a F. That's bad. That's really bad. I don't. I I know it is. I know it is. Yeah. And then my daughter's like, yeah, y'all are stupid. And then I'm like, whoa, calm down. We're trying to figure this out. And she's like, I think they're going to have to lower like 50's going to have to become passing because people are just getting dumber and dumber. I'm like, okay. Okay. Cool. So, um, uh, all right. Wait, Bobby, have you done homework as an adult with your children? Uh, no. I have no children. Come on over. No. Oh, yeah. Oh my gosh. I could pay you just like you used to make money when you're younger. I don't need to. I don't need to. I don't need to. anymore. You sure? That was out of necessity. We'll pay well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was out of necessity.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Okay, well, I guess that's it. That's the news. Thank you. Bobby's big. Stories. I had to leave studio sick yesterday. We finished the show. I left studio sick. And it's fine. We finished the show. That was great. Excellent. So I think I got like a stomach bug because I don't have like sinus stuff. I don't have, it's not COVID. I just had COVID. I think I got some stomach bug. And so I'm battling through it. And every extra day I get sick, I'm like, well, it must be a 48-hour bug.
Starting point is 00:10:37 And then it turns out of one of those 72-hour books. I think there's maybe a little denial. On what? Of like what kind of bug it is. It's a bug, bug. Well, it did go from food poisoning to bugs. Because it lasted longer. Right.
Starting point is 00:10:51 And now that's information. That's data. And I just think that. And also, my desk is so separated from everybody. Yeah, you're fine. I don't fear. Yeah, that's just Amy coming from Amy who came here with COVID. No fear here.
Starting point is 00:11:01 All good. Come to work sick. Question, question. Two questions. One, because I went to the bathroom, disappeared for half an hour yesterday during the show. Was that noticeable? Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Because you don't do that. I don't even go to the bathroom during the show. Yeah, I thought you honestly, like, somebody pulled you in a meeting. No. Usually I'll, like, put tape over my bathroom holes, so I never have to go. Just to make sure. No, you don't. Before I come in, I duct tape, cover both holes, and it just stays.
Starting point is 00:11:28 I know you're joking right now, but now I wonder if you've honestly thought about that. Well, obviously, I just said it, you know? He's thought of it. He's like, would it work? It was a rough one yesterday. So I finished the show, went home immediately and just basically laid in the bed all day. But Amy came in yesterday because we were doing stuff early and she was like, I can't move my neck. How is that?
Starting point is 00:11:48 It's gotten better. I think, I don't know what happened. I did some stretches last night and this morning. So hopefully we're on the end. It's just like every once in a while, my neck just starts to go out. I think it's an age thing. But I was running up my stairs before I left my house and tripped a little bit. it and I think that that took me out of alignment, but we're good.
Starting point is 00:12:08 That sounds like exactly what it was. Yeah, it's probably the part of it you were waiting for me to tell, but I didn't want to say again that I trip. Because I don't know. Like the steps are the same steps I walk up every single day. So like, what's different? Why would I trip on it? You should use some tape and cover your holes that helps me with the balance.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Yeah, it's just like, I don't, it's a depth perception thing. And today it's good? Yeah, I'm feeling better, but I had to do, I YouTube some stretches actually. Cricken necks The worst Yeah because you don't realize how much you turn your neck Like if we listed the worst And let's take out really bad stuff like cancer and AIDS
Starting point is 00:12:43 And Ebola like the really killers right So that's not that's the worst But let's do like the worst When it's really not the worst But it feels like it's the worst For example And also in your mouth When you get one of those
Starting point is 00:12:56 It's the worst It's a whole day And you keep biting it more and your tooth is like rubbing it Oh hey God I got one one right now. So that is the worst. I'll give you another one. Well, for me, it's a lot of mouth stuff
Starting point is 00:13:11 because I talk all day. What you got? No, I'm not like him. I don't have any right now. I'm in the white spot in my mouth. When you get a big nod on your tongue, it's called a lie bump, but it was a big one. Do you guys ever get told about lie bombs? Lie?
Starting point is 00:13:24 I don't know what we got told about. Do you think you got it because you're lying? Oh, my mind's blown if your grandmas didn't tell you about lie bombs. Is that why they said it? You got it because you lie? I wonder if this is a southern thing. And you're just realizing this? Oh, did you see me grab my head?
Starting point is 00:13:40 Oh, my God. I thought everybody knew about lie bumps. So it's like if you get a bump on your tongue. Another bump. I was told I got those because I lied. And you had lied so you're like. Of course I lied. I lied all the time.
Starting point is 00:13:53 I was a little kid telling stories. Did you have a lot of bumps? Not a lot, but they would come like every few. I would get a big one. And you keep biting it because anything in your mouth, Your mouth is intricately designed where you're just like closing it and missing things by a millimeter.
Starting point is 00:14:08 So you get a lie bump. I can't believe they weren't called lie bumps to you guys. So lie bumps also known as transient lingual papillitis or small painful bumps that appear on the tongue. They are caused by inflamed or enlarged papillai, the tiny bumps that contain taste buds and they cover the tongue. They occur when something irritates it.
Starting point is 00:14:30 It could be poor oral hygiene. Absolutely could have been me. Never went to the dentist until my 20s. Eating spicy foods, I don't do that. Stress as a kid, don't know. Allergies, I'd have them now, but I'm going to go home and think that. I never heard of that. Okay. So that's one of the worst. One mine right now is my foot cramps up a lot, my toes spread out real wide. Is that the worst? It's, well, it's the worst of me right now because there's nothing I can do about it. It's likely dehydration, so I should just get ahead of it and drink water. I heard about lie bumps, live foot cramps. No, but like my toes, like they spread out like this really far apart.
Starting point is 00:15:06 And then I just, I can hold my foot up and my foot's like this and there's nothing I can do about it. And it's so painful. Like I don't even want to touch it. Sounds like a cramp. It is, but it is. But it is, but my toes. Dehydration because athletes, you need bananas.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Yeah. Pickle juice. Yeah, I got some electrolytes. So, you know, we'll see. Another one is, and I don't think just throwing up generally sucks, but when you can't stop. What do you mean? Or there's nothing left and you keep having a gag. And you just like, oh.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Yeah. And it's like you can't control. Like you have no control. Sometimes when you throw up, you don't have control, but you can kind of like, hold on, hold on. That, and I've never been like drunk, like throw up. But I imagine that's what that's like. Dude, you don't even know that's coming. You're just like, what's up?
Starting point is 00:15:48 That's the worst. Yeah. That's crazy. That's the worst. Other things that are worse. Have you ever, I mean, this is bad, but have you ever broken a finger or something and realized how much you use your finger? Absolutely. Well, I mean, my story is like high school football, like really good manly stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:02 But yeah. I liked it. I liked it because I got to walk around with stuff on my hand. How'd you do that? I was making a block. I've never broken anything. I would never say that. That's like saying I've never gotten a ticket or I haven't gotten a ticket in years.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Amy, knock on wood. Yeah, for how clumsy you are, you've never broken anything. That's the thing. I just don't think my body, I think whatever it is, it's just not really breakable. Like the bones. Like, I don't know. I'm more like bindi. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Is that a superhero? Because I've had some balls. stuff. Like I should have probably broke something and I've never, I never have. So I just, I don't know, maybe it's just the way I'm made. Anybody else have, uh, oh man, that's the worst. Spasms, like back spasms, like, I mean, just little, oh my gosh. I had neck spasms one time and I couldn't, I mean, I thought athletes were
Starting point is 00:16:51 wince with like, oh, they're out with back spasms. Like, come on, guys, a little twitch in your back. And if you get them, you can't move. I'd rather, I was pulling my hair to make myself feel better. Oh, you're putting pain somewhere else. Yeah, it was that painful. went to the doctor and they gave me pain pills and it didn't work and I went to the ER and said
Starting point is 00:17:07 hey they misdiagnosed me like I got something wrong like I'm dying and they're right no he's just neck spasms Oh you ever had a blister in your nose inside your nostril? No Oh dude those are terrible How do you pick your nose? No no no no no you can't even squeeze your nose because it hurts
Starting point is 00:17:23 Why do you think that happens? Oh oh I have another one but go ahead. That yours reminds me of mine. Don't know why that happens but you get them right inside your nostrils and then when you're like oh your nose itches oh gosh you touch It hurts so bad. I'm doing a spinoff episode on yours. When you get a small pimple, like in your nose or like right on the...
Starting point is 00:17:39 Oh. That's it. That's what I'm talking about. He's calling it a blister. I mean, I don't know. Is it a pimple blister? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's...
Starting point is 00:17:46 Oh, they're two different things. Okay, it's a pimple then. Oh, that's what I'm talking about it. Then I shall say... I felt that. It's crazy, dude. That sucks. Or like, you can't, and you can't only see it, but it's like hurt and you're, you just want to squeeze it,
Starting point is 00:17:58 but nothing... That's, that's the worst, too. You ever get like a fever blister? Not really. Oh, outside the lip. Outside, yeah. I haven't had it once since I was like 15 or 16. Bobby, don't say that.
Starting point is 00:18:12 You just told Amy. No, but I've had, but I had them when I was younger. Like fever blisters. Is that herpes? Yeah. Two different things. That's what I do. But it isn't it a kind of herpes though?
Starting point is 00:18:22 That's herpes, dude. Maybe. Like it doesn't mean that's... But I think a fever that's a sunblit. I think you can get them differently from the sun. Oh. Because that's what mine ended up was. It was from like shun burning my lips, but I could be wrong.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Dude, I thought a lie bump was real until like five minutes ago. See if there's like a sun blister or like, is a cold sore the same thing? I think that's a, I haven't had one of those in a long time. Let's see. Sun blister, second degree burns or fluid-filled bumps that appear on the skin after too much UV radiation from the sun. Not the same thing. But fun fact, most of us have a herpes virus in us. It just, not the kind that you think of like on the ding-dong.
Starting point is 00:19:01 But like in a different version, it just lies dormant. But sometimes it pops up. Yeah, sometimes it does. That's what would be everywhere. All the kinds. Herpes simplex virus, HSV-1 is the most common type of herpes. It affects about 70% of people under 50 worldwide. And some people, it's like the mouth, but they never, it never actually.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Asymptomatic. Yeah, it never actually pops out. Okay. Huh. I didn't actually mind that segment. Anybody? No. No.
Starting point is 00:19:31 But overall, it's not that bad. Amy's like, anybody have herpes? That's what I was going to say. Like, does anybody who would admit to ever having that kind? But, but, but, because just so people. What kind of question is that? That's why he stopped. It started to come out.
Starting point is 00:19:43 But then we didn't ask you to go again and you used one again. Because they kind of said it and then I was like, yeah, that's where I was going to go. We never said. No, but if you do. Exactly. They're taking care of themselves. That's very common. I've seen commercials where you can take care of that.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Yeah, you're not alone. Yeah, you're not alone. But I think what I found. The most entertaining about that, Amy was going to go, then she goes, nah, and then none of us encouraged her to go, and then she just did it again anyway. I felt like somebody encouraged me. No, no, no. Like somebody over there. A little voice.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Okay, so here's what we're going to do. I do have a bunch of calls. We're going to get to all the calls, including someone who heard about lie bumps. Oh, okay. So you're not alone. Whatever's my grandma from heaven? And she's calling. Wouldn't that be cool if you got one call, like prison?
Starting point is 00:20:29 Yes. You got one call. You got one call like a month from somebody in heaven. Once a month, that'd be awesome. And it was only like five minutes. Oh, man, this is, I'm writing it. This is a story here. A book?
Starting point is 00:20:40 Like that you're going to pretend happen to you? No, that would be awesome. No, don't know. That's smart. And then I come in and bumps all on my tongue tomorrow. All right, hold on, back a second. A win is a win. A win.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I don't care which I'm saying. Yep, that's me. Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined.
Starting point is 00:21:08 And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with some of your favorite athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated. One week, I'll take you behind the scenes of the biggest moments in sports and entertainment, and the next we'll talk about life, mental health, purpose, and even music.
Starting point is 00:21:28 The Clifford Show isn't just a podcast. It's a space for honest conversations, stories that don't always get told, and for people who are chasing something bigger. So, if you've ever supported me or you're just chasing down a dream, this is right where you need to be. Listen to The Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either.
Starting point is 00:22:09 We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands.
Starting point is 00:22:33 I said, oh, hell no. I vowed I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, everyone?
Starting point is 00:22:54 I'm Ego Vodom. My next guest, you know from Stepbrothers, Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network. It's Will Ferrell. Woo, woo, woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with them one day.
Starting point is 00:23:11 And I was like, and dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
Starting point is 00:23:39 If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in someone's, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case.
Starting point is 00:25:04 I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Lesbian and Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Americopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Let's talk to Athena in Virginia, who's on the phone. Athena, thank you for calling. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:25:54 I just wanted to let you know that, yes, the eye bumping is a sudden thing. I grew up in Georgia, and that was always a thing with my mom and grandmother. I'm so glad you called because for those that did not hear the last segment, I was talking about the bumps you get on your tongue. And I said, my grandma always told me they were lie bumps. My grandma raised me for a lot of my life. And so I was convinced every time I got one I lied, probably because I lied a lot. And the rest of the show, we got Texas, Texas, Texas, Kansas.
Starting point is 00:26:22 They were like, we've never heard of that. So I thought at times I say things that are extremely hillbill. Esk because Texas is not really the south. Would you guys admit that? Even though it's the most southern. Correct. I'm not saying that it's not. Southern Bill.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Yeah, yeah. It's geographically south. It's weird. But it is not the south. I'm from the south. That's Arkansas. I'm from Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, you know, Virginia, all that area.
Starting point is 00:26:50 And I thought, well, maybe they just didn't know it because not from the south. Or maybe he just never lied. I thought about that too. We lied. Maybe you never lied. Thank you for calling, Athena. I really appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Of course. Have a good day. Yeah, you have a good day too. Okay. Tuesday, Reviews Day, we'll go quick. If you don't have one, let me know. You've got to go full review. No soft reviews on Tuesday, Reviews Day.
Starting point is 00:27:13 I finished Penguin season one on Max. Don't think it's a superhero show. It is not. It's based off of the Penguin and Batman. There aren't. it's like a I never watch what's that gangster show
Starting point is 00:27:28 sopranos I never watched sopranos but it's probably like that with just like slightly more fiction yeah it's a mafia show it's awesome
Starting point is 00:27:37 it's four and a half out of five okay and can I say who the villain the girl is is that that's not spoiling right
Starting point is 00:27:44 no that's in the synopsis can I mention how I met your mother without it been a spoiler that's been a while okay so the mom
Starting point is 00:27:52 and how I met your mother who's like the softest, sweetest, actress and she ends up being the mom. She's one of the villains. She's so good. And at first when she's on, you're like, she can't be the villain.
Starting point is 00:28:04 I only know her for doing like super soft, sweet role. She's so good. Four and a half out of five. Hurt feet. Well, that's good. So I'm giving the penguin that. We finish season one of From. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:19 From is a show. We watch on Amazon. And From is a show where they're in this town. they can't get out of this town and at night these monsters come out of the woods and it's about that but it's not about that it's right we finish season one
Starting point is 00:28:33 it's four and a half out of five rocks with symbols on it okay at first it's a bit horroresque where I'm like I don't like scary stuff I'm like gonna do this and then there's a bit of a shift
Starting point is 00:28:49 and it's more than just that they're layers I love it We finished season one and we were like, we got to go to season two. So two four and a halfs. From on Amazon, Penguin on Max. Great. Amy go. Hot frosty.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Save your time. I don't know what it is, though. It's a movie on Netflix. It's a Christmas one. And, you know, these are going to be cheesy. So I expect them to be kind of bad, but also amazing at the same time. It's called hot frosty? This one's just bad.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Okay. So, I don't know. I give it just. It's no holiday harmony? Just because it's Christmas time. is I'll give it two out of five scarves. Okay. Let's go around. If you have nothing, you can say nothing, Eddie. I have the return of the king, the fallen rise of Elvis Presley. It's a documentary.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Brand new on Netflix. Awesome. It's so good. Even though we've seen everything about Elvis. You've seen everything about Elvis. But this is about the 1968 comeback special, you know, where he's on the black leather. So apparently... Is that Hawaii? No, no, no. This is... So the colonel, who's his manager, ruined his career. Signed him to a 27 movie deal. and like killed his career. So he had stopped singing. This special is what brought Elvis back, had no idea. I'm the biggest Elvis fan.
Starting point is 00:30:01 I didn't know who, like this story. Conan O'Brien's on there, Billy Corgan for the Smashing Pumpkins, Bruce Springsteen narrating this stuff. It's so cool to see this stuff. Review? Man, I say five out of five diamonds. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:14 Morgan. Yeah, I watched Borderlands. I watched it for free on like my Southwest flight. It was just on new... Movie or TV show? It's a new movie. It's with Kate Blanchet. And it's about this otherworldly.
Starting point is 00:30:25 She's a bounty hunter and she has to travel between planets. Oh, man. Say no more. I know. And it was very suicide squad-esque, misfits, this whole thing, all the makings of a movie I would love. And it was good. It was cheesy enough that I liked it. But it wasn't something that I would watch again.
Starting point is 00:30:43 Good movie. Good plain movie? Great plain movie. Yeah. Not something I don't know that I'd spend my Friday night watching per se. Man, there's a movie. Lunchbox, do yours. I'm going to look up this movie.
Starting point is 00:30:52 I'm going to watch again. Two out of five keys Got it Two out of five keys, got it Yeah, I got nothing I just have a soft review And there's no soft reviews. No soft reviews on Tuesday, reviews day.
Starting point is 00:31:02 Okay. No podcast or anything on lunchbox? No, man, it was a busy week. Movie Mike? I'm with you. I also finished the Penguin season one. I give it 4.5 out of five. One of the best shows are you here.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Yeah. I don't want people to think it's all Batmany. I hoped it was Batmany and it ends up not being Batmany. Like for me, I love Batman. So I get that from it too, but if you don't watch Batman or whatsoever, you can still love this show.
Starting point is 00:31:22 I'm going to try, hey, Ray, if something, do we have a bleep button? Yep. Like, if something happens, can you drop me? Yeah. Okay, just be careful. Because I'm going to go and try to find this movie and I'm going to get on TikTok. And then if I mess up. Oh, yeah, TikTok's risky.
Starting point is 00:31:39 It'd be bad. Okay, hold on. I'm watching this guy. Brandon talks movies. And I get fed this because I like all movie mic stuff on TikTok. So then I get fed all the other movie stuff. Okay, hold on. I'm fast forwarding.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Here we go. Okay, okay, okay. Predestination is what it's called on Netflix, okay? Here we go. I haven't seen it yet. Oh, dang it. You can fast forward TikTok. You just hold your hand, thumb on it.
Starting point is 00:32:03 It double times it. Oh, yeah, I didn't know that. Oh, yeah, this came out like, I don't know. When TikTok invented? No. Bones, that's huge. I'm glad. I didn't know this.
Starting point is 00:32:14 I know, I'm just kidding. I'm just like, dang, I got to watch the whole thing again. It's called predestination with, oh, you can also open and drag your finger on the bottom and take it back to the. Oh, I didn't know that either. Oh, I didn't know that either. Guys, I was just making a joke, but now it is. No, man, we watched the whole thing and then we wait, watch again. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Okay, hold on here. Time travel movies, you have to check out predestination. This film follows a temporal agent who travels through time in order to stop criminals from committing their crimes in the future. But this time he has to hunt down his nemesis in order to stop them from committing a crime that will end millions of lives. Again, if you are a fan of mind-bending time travel movies, this one is definitely one to watch. I'm in. See, I haven't even seen that one, but I saw that. Mike, what's your TikTok?
Starting point is 00:32:56 Mike Deistro. Follow Mike because Mike does lots of movie reviews and like stuff. So then I like those and I get fed all this bull crap. And then I'm like, oh, I like this stuff too. I'm going to go watch predestination this weekend probably. Okay. I got to get in a couple more calls. You okay?
Starting point is 00:33:13 I'm about to vomit. Okay, not okay. I'm not really feeling great today either. I'm be honest with you. Hey, let's go talk to Scott in Florida. Hey, Scott, what's up, buddy? Hey, how's it going? Pretty good. Thank you for calling. Hold on one second, Scott. Start over.
Starting point is 00:33:28 All right, so I just wanted to tell you a story. I live down here in Florida, close to Medea Beach, but not on the island side when the hurricane hit. We had Helene, and then we had Milton's. Well, my friend came from the U.K., and he was supposed to be here to put flowers on his mother's grave at Madera Beach, take him to a concert and celebrate his birthday. Instead, from 8 o'clock to 8 o'clock for two weeks, we were cleaning houses out on the beach. I ended up raising $10,000 thanks to wreath windows, Fran Hosh, and Gas Homes real estate here in Madeira and St. Pete and in that area. Well, anyway, we bought $7,000 in totes. We bought $3,000 and $100 gift cards, and we gave them to random people. didn't know. We started cleaning houses. My friends, they saw what we were doing, and we cleaned about 20 houses out on the beach. After that, Saltwater Hippie is on Madera Beach. They have a music hall
Starting point is 00:34:34 that is owned, the building's owned by a man named Bill, who owns Favados and a John Spass in a few other places, and Saltwater Hippie. They donated the music hall. and we turned it into the largest donation spot probably on the West Coast. It looks like a mini Walmart. Well, yeah, pretty much many Walmart. And then also now we're having people donate for insurance. We've had trucks come from Houston, Indiana, Utah, all over bringing supplies to the beach to help everybody out. and my friend
Starting point is 00:35:19 my friend from the UK is a country singer just plays in bars but he has albums out his name is Kellyn James K-E-L-A-N James
Starting point is 00:35:31 he wrote a song called Riding Out the Hurricane and it is a beautiful song that's all many people here to cry and so forth but this has been going on since the first hurricane and we're still going at it
Starting point is 00:35:46 and the volunteers that have came out to work at the donation shop, I got to give a shout out to them. They are freaking phenomenal. The owners of Saltwater Hippie, amazing. During this time, I even had my truck destroyed, but I kept going. I cut my finger off. You cut your finger off. Okay, look.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Here's what we got here. We got a guy. This is one of those. You just start a little snowball. Next thing you know, snowball gets bigger than a lot of people. people are helping and obviously the area still needs a lot of help but you guys are killing it that's awesome dude what about the finger yeah yeah that's how he leaves this he cut his finger he's doing great things hey scott thank you for that story and did you put a band-aid on the finger what
Starting point is 00:36:31 happened uh no uh actually the skill saw i was cutting the walls up four feet tall and skill saw hit a hard part of the wall and i went to catch skill saw and a split his finger in two oh well i'm No, I can't take any more of this call. I like Scott, and thank you for sharing that. I hope that it inspires people that are listening to, you can just do your thing, and if other people hear, then they do their thing, and next thing you know, you've got big things happening. That whole finger thing I don't like.
Starting point is 00:37:00 That sucks for Scott. I'm sorry to hear that, buddy. Thank you for calling, and thank you for continuing to, like, give and work and help others and be selfless. It's really cool, Scott. So thank you. Hope you have a nice day, buddy. Give me a favor.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Check out that song, right now. Okay, okay. And I went in games. Let's check it out. I'll check it out. And then I got a little confused during the call if that was just all a promotional opportunity for his buddy. No, I think he's genuine.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Even though I went back to it? I mean, everything was probably real that he talked about. I don't think there was a single lie told me. Oh, okay. Yeah. No, no, I don't think he made the whole thing up to get his buddy on. But then I have to like be careful about letting people do that because then everybody ends up calling with something to go,
Starting point is 00:37:36 oh yeah, my friend Clint Wilson. Yeah. Got that new song. It's called Tuesday on Broadway. And I'm like, yeah, yeah. Let's go to Beth in Pennsylvania. you real quick. Hey, Beth. Hi. Welcome to the show. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:37:50 Hi, Bobby. I was calling, I know you kind of went off the subject, but live blisters. Well, you call them live bumps. I live in Pennsylvania in Williamsport, the home of the Little League World Series. We called them live blisters growing up, and then when my kids were coming up, I called them live blisters, and every time that they would get one, I would say, okay, what did you lie about? And a lot of times they would tell on themselves. Yep. Because I would get them by calling them lie blisters.
Starting point is 00:38:23 And then they would get in trouble for what they did. But then they caught on that it was just a bump in their mouth, a little blister or whatever. And then my grandchildren are coming up now. The oldest one's 16. The youngest one's three. But I call them that to them. I haven't caught them yet. or if we're honest you didn't catch the other ones either you tricked them
Starting point is 00:38:48 and I don't hate it I don't hate it I think it's I think it's great and I was never like told to confess my lies because I normally mine were just like stupid stuff because I didn't have to lie about anything but I just remember being like I must have lied if I got a lie mom I must have lied or maybe at school I never lied to my girl or if they were like how are you and you're like I'm good but really you weren't No, it was always good. As a kid, I didn't know the difference. Oh.
Starting point is 00:39:15 Yeah, I know the difference. I didn't mean, as kids, we all, I'm not even talking about your circumstances. Like, just, you know. Don't we always say it like, you're good? Yeah, we're good. It is weird if you go, somebody you don't know and you're like, hey, how's it going? Man, it's terrible. Not good.
Starting point is 00:39:27 I run. Like, feet don't fail me now. I'm out of here. That's just a way to say hello. Hey, Beth, I really appreciate you calling. Hope you have a great day. You too. I love the show.
Starting point is 00:39:38 I listen to it every morning and have for years. Thank you very much. hopefully we'll talk to you soon, okay? Okay, thank you. Bye-bye. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying.

We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield. And in this new season of the girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man.
Starting point is 00:41:15 A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target.

I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up-and-coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet.
Starting point is 00:42:22 Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat, just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that.
Starting point is 00:42:48 There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. New data out about how much alcohol you can drink and still be healthy. Come on. Guys anxious to hear this? Yes. Yep. Of everyone, because the guys on the show have gotten a little older, of everyone that actual took interest,
Starting point is 00:44:53 Morgan raised her head the fastest. She drinks more than we do. She's still at the age and the stage where it's like, sometimes she still goes moderate to pretty hard. Averaging no more than one drink a day as relatively low risk. Oh, okay. According to scientists who study alcohol, they warn the risk of cancer rises significantly when you exceed that.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Studies have suggested that alcohol contributes about half of a dozen types of cancers, including breast, colorectal, heart, liver. The only way to completely avoid health-related problems is to stop drinking. First of all, you want to avoid a lot of these elements that come into? No drinking. However, they know that's actually not something that most people are going to hear and do.
Starting point is 00:45:32 Because a lot of things that we do and eat, they're like that sugar. I mean, we could walk through all of the stuff that is harming our body and possibly raising our chances of different kind of cancers. Okay. Now that's all said. They are evaluating alcohol consumption guidelines. Men consume no more than two drinks a day.
Starting point is 00:45:51 For women, no more than one. So this is the recommendation. Newer guidelines continue to be a bit more conservative than that. They looked at the risk of dying from anything alcohol-related, including they put in heart disease, accidents, life changes. They deem the risks of you need two drinks a week or less. to be low. Wow, they went from one a day.
Starting point is 00:46:17 They started factoring in other causes as well. Three to six drinks as a moderate a week and then seven or more increasingly high. Dang. Like you could go at any minute. Yeah. I'm about three to six. A week?
Starting point is 00:46:32 A week? Really? Yeah, most of the weekend. Not really weak days, but weekend. What drink? Wine mostly and then maybe a couple beers if I'm grilling. I have a friend. I'm not going to say his name.
Starting point is 00:46:43 it's Reed and Reed works with he does travels a lot of my digital pictures video editing he's like my guy travels works out with Eddie and I
Starting point is 00:46:55 and he was like I just don't know why I'm not able to lose much weight because he comes in he works hard and Kevin Kluge our trainer was like man yeah you've been eating and he's like I never asked you
Starting point is 00:47:05 like are you drinking he goes a couple beers a night that'll do it and he's like that's it that's it He gets a couple beers a night.
Starting point is 00:47:16 He's like beers? That'll do it? That'll do it. That'll do it. And not even talking about the cancer, all the things that say long term. But it's like... Some of his goals. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Yeah. Fitness goals. He's like, I didn't even think about that. And sometimes it's not two. Sometimes it's one. But sometimes you just get lost in time. It's four. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:38 But he's also young. Rade's younger. But yeah, I know how to get you, I guess, huh? Watch out. A couple beers. Bobby Bones show. Bonehead. This story comes us from Miami, Florida.
Starting point is 00:47:53 A 20-year-old man was in the kitchen cooking dinner with his brother, and his brother starts talking. He's like, hey, quit talking. You're getting germs on the food. Brother keeps talking. So what's the 20-year-old do? Grabbs a knife and stabs him right in the neck. Oh, my goodness. I feel like maybe some sibling rivalry had already existed or sibling irritation or mental illness.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Yeah, there's something like that. A little bit of boats. He stabbed him just for germs. Yeah, he was talking over the food which was getting germs on the food and when police arrived they found the 20 year old hiding in a tree.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Also, not where I would go. If I was feeling good, like feeling all collected, I would not climb a tree. Yeah, that sucks. What about the guy that got stabbed? He's good, he's going to survive. He finished dinner.
Starting point is 00:48:39 The food did not get cooked. He had to go to the hospital. Oh, no. Okay. Yeah, I'm lunchboxed. your bonehead story the day. It's some very exciting news on this show today that I want you to listen to on the podcast because Amy talked about how she might be a superstar after tonight.
Starting point is 00:48:53 Well, I talked about it about you. Big night for Amy. Hopefully, she didn't make the cutting room floor and she's on ABC tonight. They're doing that special, the Vegas country music special. Hopefully she's on because they interviewed her. And if you said some cool stuff, they're going to chop it up in there. Okay. Yeah, TVD.
Starting point is 00:49:09 It was there for a long time. I know you're going to be in it. Yeah, there was some teaser. where they use two seconds. Of your face? Yeah, and my words. Oh, that's good. But that was, but it's an Instagram.
Starting point is 00:49:21 Face, though. It was my face speaking. We're on. So she's going to be on tonight. Watch that. It's on ABC. So that's one. So Amy's going to be a massive national star after tonight.

Starting point is 00:49:41 Does anybody want to admit to what we're talking about here? Anyone? Obviously it's Eddie because he can get rid of first. Okay. Go ahead. Guys, I don't want to jump the gun. I don't want to jump the gun, but this could be huge. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:49:55 My Heart Sales Team, the national sales team, has asked me to do a commercial spot in Spanish. I mean, guys, this could blow me up. Yeah.
