Starting point is 00:03:08 Mr. Bobby, Bones. CMAs dropped their nominations yesterday, so I'll give you the category. And I'll tell you who, based on data, should win. Not my pick or my favorite, but who I think should win based on the reality of the landscape of country music. That being said, you have to understand there are thousands of people that vote in this. This is not a board that votes and elects. And so when people get mad at the CMAs, it's not 11 people in a boardroom.
Starting point is 00:03:35 It's managers, agents, hundreds of people in radio. It's any tour. All these people that work in the industry, you can be a member of the CMA and you vote. It's thousands of people. So it's not 11 people trying to screw somebody over. There are those, but this is not that.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Entertainer of the Year. nominees are Morgan Wallin, Luke Combs, Lainie Wilson, Cody Johnson, and Chris Stapleton. Who should win? Morgan Wallen. You never know who's going to win because different reasons. But Morgan Wallen should win.
Starting point is 00:04:11 He should be the entertainer of the year. Album of the year. And I don't really have a for sure on this one, something that I would go plant my flag in because a lot of these could win. Megan Maroney, am I okay? Zach Top, Cold Beer and Country Music, Post Malone, F1 trillion.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Morgan Wallen, I'm the problem. World Winnie Wilson. Probably Morgan Wallen. It's just streamed so much. And he was the first one to really do 700 songs on an album. And then you have all those streams. Those all count. Because for a long time, I was like, we'll do an EP because people don't care.
Starting point is 00:04:45 He was like, well, while you're zicking, I'm going to zag and I'm going to do 42 songs on an album. It really worked out well for him, obviously. I saw yesterday he's playing in Canada. I think he's tours up in Canada now. And they opened the merch stand a day before the shows he was. start. Oh, wow. That's how in demand, yeah. He's like, the thing was, the merch boots will be open 24 hours before the show.
Starting point is 00:05:04 That's cool. That's insane. It's insane. Yeah. Wow. Male vocalist of the year. This award is not what this award says. Because if it were male vocalist of the year, it would just be about the male that was the best singer.
Starting point is 00:05:15 It's not that. It's kind of the junior varsity award for entertainer of the year. Because female vocalists is the same. Junior varsity award for entertainer of the year. So it's kind of like second place. Stapleton, Morgan Wall. and Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Zach Top. Who, I'm going to take Morgan out
Starting point is 00:05:33 because I think he should want entertainer. Luke Combs should probably win that award, or Stapleton. Obviously, I like all those guys. I like Cody Johnson a lot, but female vocalist, again, this is, if you don't want entertainer of the year, you should probably win this one. Laney, Ella Langley,
Starting point is 00:05:51 Megan Maroney, Kelsey Ballerini, Miranda Lambert. Really, probably Megan Maroney. She's not up for Entertainer the Year, but she, I mean, if I were investing in an artist stock, and while I won't even say female, but it could be female, I'd invest in Megan Roney the most. Like, she is already a superstar. So Megan Maroney there. Single of the year, this is just preference. Lany Wilson, four by four by you, Luke Combs, ain't no love in Oklahoma. Megan Maroney, am I okay? Zach Top, I never lie. You look like you love me, Ella Langley and Riley Green. Now, who will probably win,
Starting point is 00:06:29 Ella Langley and Riley Green because they have two voting bases. Oh yeah, two artists. So you have both labels. I'm not even sure if they're on the same label, different imprints, different management companies, different, they're all going to vote for that. So that, those songs like that win a lot. And that's kind of why one of the reasons she won all the awards, I think maybe the ASEMs last year. Not that the song was bad, but it does help when you have two different groups all voting for you. Or two, I don't say fan bases, but because it's not a fan awarded vote. Um, who should win single of the year. Again, don't really have a dog in this fight where I would just plant the flag.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Obviously, I'm a big Megan Moroni guy. That Luke Combs song was massive, though. Ain't no love. I know, but also not my favorite. From him. My preference. Yeah. Song of the year, I don't even care.
Starting point is 00:07:15 New artist of the year. Zach Top, Ella Langley, Stephen Wilson, Jr., Tucker Wetmore, Shaboozy. Ooh. New artist is weird because it's kind of the junior junior varsity. It's the junior varsity of like male and female. Mm-hmm. And they cram them all together. but it's also like who's new?
Starting point is 00:07:35 Did Shibuzi win last year? I don't know. His song maybe, but do you think he won new artist? You could argue four out of these five. Oh yeah, easy. And I think Stephen Wilson Jr. is great, but I don't think he has the heart of a bunch of major record label people. They're going to put it behind him.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Oh, yeah, he didn't take home an award. He just performed it. Like I like Stephen Wilson, Jr. a lot. And I would probably pick him if it was just personal preference, but I don't think he has really the major label support where they want their personal to win so they can sell more major label records. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:16 And use that. I mean, probably Zach Topp wins that. Ella Langley's one of those two probably win it. I think Shibuzi's been around a while now. Yeah, a little bit. And so I think some of that stuff's not even success-based. It's, okay, you've been around for like two and a half years now, but Shibuzi can win it too.
Starting point is 00:08:35 So Megan Maroni She won it last year She's not in it this year, right? Yeah, she won it last year Other nominees were Shibuzi Nate Smith, Mitchell, Ten Penny, Zach Top and Bailey's Inerman I think they should eliminate
Starting point is 00:08:46 If you lose, you should be eliminated Oh When you win, you should be eliminated From new artists Not from all categories But you're not new anymore You get one shot at new artist I feel like they got a couple years though
Starting point is 00:08:56 Right? But you're not new anymore Yeah, you're not new-ish We should have a second category Newish Artist of the Year November 19th ABC Snubs, Parmaly. They had another number one this year.
Starting point is 00:09:07 All they do is put out number ones. Kane Brown. Locash. They had another number one this year. They have like a top five song played and they didn't even make the duo list. Love low cash. How do they not make the duo list?
Starting point is 00:09:18 That's crazy. I know. Because there aren't a lot of duos. That's why they should make the list. That's what I'm saying. No, you answered that in a way that was the opposite. I meant like your tone was the opposite of what you said. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Tell us more ready. Like we should make that list. Yeah, it's weird that low cash didn't make the list. All right. Also, like, there are just too many letters and too many award shows. Letters? Yeah, ACMs. CMAs. Acronymns.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Yeah, and here I am. I have to explain it a lot of the times. And honestly, if I wasn't in the business, I wouldn't know the difference. I wouldn't care. The CMAs are old school. A little more old money. The ACM. more new money, a little more cutting edge, a little more, not anymore, but they start in
Starting point is 00:10:10 California. Now they're obviously here, but it's a little younger. When I was younger, I would differentiate them with gold and silver. Like, ACMs got a gold tone to it. Everything about ACMs. The trophies kind of gold. The graphics are always golden. And the CMAs are like silver, like clear. The trophies like glass. So our ACM awards are silver hats and then the CMAs are glass and I know they're glass
Starting point is 00:10:40 because I'm broken too. Good job, Eddie, yeah. That's just how I would remember. One is silverish and one's goldish. I didn't know the difference. Maybe on the TV. That's what they look like to him. I told my wife yesterday, you saying on the TV reminds me of yesterday when I said check card.
Starting point is 00:10:57 And so my wife and I went to Sonic yesterday and I said, hey, I was pulling in. And I was like, I don't have any cash, and I don't have my check card. And then I said, oh, I said check card on the show. And they thought I was weird. And she goes, yeah, who says that? And I'm like, well, why?
Starting point is 00:11:13 I asked her, what was our association with check card? She goes, old people say that. And I said, well, she goes, well, yeah, but or people from extremely small towns. She goes, and that makes sense where you're from. Very rural. Check card. But I said it connects to my checking account. It's my check card.
Starting point is 00:11:34 She's like, that's fine, Papal. But most people call it a debit card. So I asked her the same question. Now, she didn't come out and volunteer and, like, strike me down. I asked to be struck down. She doesn't really listen to the show. She didn't know what we talked about? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:47 But I was like, what do you think about check card? She goes, old people say that. I said, oh, got it. Top five haunted crime scenes in the United States. It's already set. Next month is freaking Halloween. Really? Gosh.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Number five, the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles. Infamous for multiple murder, suicides, and the mysterious 2013 death of Elisa Lamb. She was one that's found in the water tank? Mm-mm. The rooftop water tank. Oh, yeah. How long ago was that? 2013.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Wow, not long ago. Oh, it was longer good than I thought. Also connected to the serial killer Richard Ramirez, the nightstalker. Guests have reported eerie presences, unexplained noises, and shadowy figures. Is the nightstocker? The Joe and Hall movie? No, that's Nightcrawler
Starting point is 00:12:34 Oh, great movie though That's a good one Yeah, the cameraman, that's a good one No, no, the one with The Game Show one Oh, that's Woman of the Hour Yeah, but isn't that him? I never watched it
Starting point is 00:12:47 That's such a good one The movie's good? Oh yeah, it's good dude Oh, I couldn't finish it Because I was getting too creeped out It's a creepy movie It is real creepy Is that it Mike?
Starting point is 00:12:56 Is that the guy, Richard? He was so nice Like I see you how these girls were like, okay, fine, you can take my picture. No, that's Rodney. Rodney, A. This is a different person. This is Richard Ramirez. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Today is not your day. No, man, I'm just throwing Darth in that. They're not sticking. That game show movie one, it is really good. Well, I'm never going to a desert to have photographs taken. Yeah, you shouldn't. Photographs? Check card.
Starting point is 00:13:22 That seems like a weird thing. Check card. You're not going to get photographs taken? Well. Get your picture made? Yeah, to get my picture made. No, she was clearly. He was a photographer, so that's why I said out that way.
Starting point is 00:13:32 It wasn't just like your friends taking pictures. It was like... But even photographs. Not photographs. Photographs. I feel like that's an elevated... Some of this is pictures. I think check cards elevated, too, losers.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Okay. That's what we say when people make fun of us. It's an elevated version of the things that you say. Yeah. Well, good. I agree. Don't go to the desert and have your photograph taken. Do not do that.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Because then they're just too vulnerable. Number four, the Lallori Mansion in New Orleans. In the 1830s, socialite Madame Delphine La Lorry had a house. The house was discovered to hold tortured enslaved people in horrific conditions. My goodness.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Wow. Though not a single crime scene, the atrocities inside shocked a city. The mansion is said to be one of the most haunted spots in New Orleans. Holy crap. Do you ever wonder like in a neighborhood like what basement's got crap
Starting point is 00:14:20 going down in it? Yeah. And we just drive by all the time? Yeah, we don't even know. Number three, the Lizzie Borden house. You know Lizzie Borden, right? And the rhyme, the Lizzie Borden rhyme? No.
Starting point is 00:14:33 No. In 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were hacked to death with an axe. Daughter Lizzie was accused but acquitted and the case remains unsolved. The home is now a bed and breakfast with guests reporting. Footsteps, whispers, and shadowy figures. I turned it into a bed and breakfast. Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother 40 wax. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41.
Starting point is 00:14:57 Oh my gosh. This is terrible. But she ended up not doing it. And I think anywhere you go if you say somebody was murdered here or there were 19 people murdered here, even if there weren't. And then you ask people the next day,
Starting point is 00:15:10 hey, any shadowy figures? Any sounds? Yeah, crazy. That's so haunted. The Vesilla Axe murder house. Familiar. That's the one we sent lunchbox to. In 1912, eight people,
Starting point is 00:15:22 including six children were brutally murdered with an axe. The killer was never caught. Visitors today report children's voices moving objects and doors opening on their own. Think about this. Eight people, including six children, were murdered with an axe. It doesn't seem that real because we don't have
Starting point is 00:15:38 documentation of it, like a new story about it. It seems like something from Christopher Columbus days. But that's brutal and sad and terrible. Yes, it's terrible. The Amityville House. This is from the Amityville horror. Like the movie? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:15:58 Ninety-four, Ronald Defeo Jr. murdered his parents and four siblings inside the house. A year later, the Lutz family moved in, claiming they were being tormented by violent paranormal activity. The story inspired the Amityville horror book and films. Okay, so if there's a house and one person was murdered in it and they gave me a great deal, I think I would take the house. If there was a house where four people had been murdered, like four siblings and a parent, no chance. No chance. So four is the number for you? It may be three or two.
Starting point is 00:16:23 I don't know. one I think I could do I think people get killed in a lot of places and I don't know the story behind it and maybe there was some you know some Menendez brother type stuff where they came and did it because they were being tortured
Starting point is 00:16:37 and I don't know the story but four that's a psycho that went in and just did some murdering I couldn't do that house I could do one I think people die in houses all the time yes but not murdered well yeah I mean
Starting point is 00:16:49 dying natural causes different it is a bit different but I think dying is dying is dying but like a slaughter of multiple people, not there for that. So you may not know the answer to this, but if you get murdered in a house and you're a spirit, you're a ghost,
Starting point is 00:17:05 I don't know the answer to this. What kind of question is this? I'm not going to know the answer. Because he's not a spirit. But you may know the answer. Okay, go ahead. I give you my best guess. Would you stay there?
Starting point is 00:17:14 Like, I don't want to stay where I got murdered. Well, you are assuming that a spirit or a ghost could only be in one place at one time. Like, that is the movie assumption you're basing that on. Mm-hmm. So if... One spirit, one location.
Starting point is 00:17:26 That's kind of what I'm thinking. And you're also confining the spirit to the physical restrictions that we have with our organic bodies, meaning if you're this spirit, you can only be in one place. But if you're able to spread out and you can be in a thousand places at once. That'd be awesome. But no. If I was a spirit, I wouldn't want to be in my house where I got murdered. I'd be a freaking six flags.
Starting point is 00:17:45 Exactly. I mean, I'd be a lot of the places I never got to go. So I don't know the answer to that. But that's a good answer. Thank you. Yeah. But there could be a part of you. We don't know the rules.
Starting point is 00:17:56 There could be a part of you that is that one little party of you is always there while the other parts of you are out doing all the things you wanted to do. But you could be like tethered to the place you were murdered. We don't know the spirit rules. Like that's a rule. You got to part of you has to stay there because you were murdered. You are tethered to the place where you died. Or what if you're tethered to the place where every place that you've been to in your life?
Starting point is 00:18:15 What? You're tethered there. You've ever went to six flags. That's interesting. And you rode that roller coaster. Texas Giant. You're on that. All the way there for the first.
Starting point is 00:18:22 As soon as they opened, I was like, I got to the Texas giant. And I was like, let's go, I've been waiting to do this my whole life. It sucked. It didn't even go upside down. Yes. I have to live that over and over again. That's part of you there. The Orient Express, that was a solid one.
Starting point is 00:18:35 At six bucks? Yeah, that thing went upside down. And I get really sick, but I'll do a roller coaster. It's worth it. Yeah, I don't know the rules on spirits, you know? We'll find out, I guess. Shocking, you don't know the answer to that, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:48 It's weird. You may don't know the answer to this, but. In case you do. The morning routine that will help you live to 100. There's seven things here. Amy, how many do you do? Number one, drink a glass of water. Yes, check.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Purposefully? Right when I wake up, I put it on my bedside table. Good for you. I probably do most times, but I don't, with intention, go grab water to drink to check it off the list. That's good that you do. Hydrating right away sets you up for the day. It helps with digestion. A part, not big.
Starting point is 00:19:20 A part of my digestion issues, we're also not drinking enough. water because if you don't have enough water like lubrication for your food it doesn't digest well. Oh. So that could be part of a reason you're constipated is you're not drinking enough water. Oh, yeah. Which I didn't know that. Do you eat a nutrient dense breakfast? Not always. If I have smoothies, then yes. I feel like I'm getting a very nutrient dense because you can pack a lot of things in there. Things like yogurt, oatmeal berries and nuts. They're great choices. Oh, or smoothies.
Starting point is 00:19:54 They didn't say that. I think smoothie counts as all that because the smoothie can be anything. It can be all those things in a blender. You throw nuts in your smoothie? Yeah, I put... Do you still travel with your little smoothie machine? No. Of course not.
Starting point is 00:20:07 I don't travel with it. Of course no. You ever use it? Yeah, every weekend, margaritas. So the opposite of what you were supposed to do. But I don't have to plug it in. It's kind of cool. I can watch TV and blend it right by the TV.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Wow. It pops up in my TikTok sometimes. It does. That little machine. Ninja blast. Stretch your body. I need to do that. Ugh.
Starting point is 00:20:30 I mean, it's on my list. My back was killing me this morning. I slept hard last night. And now the harder I sleep, the more I wake up injured. Weird. I know. Because I just let my...
Starting point is 00:20:42 I just go and things hurt because they're so relaxed. I woke up. Activating your nervous system. Something called vagal tapping. Oh, vagal. Is it vagal? or vagal?
Starting point is 00:20:53 I don't know. I don't know either. But I'm thinking like vagus nerve. I don't have a vagala. I've done tapping before. I mean, I open up my lymphs. That probably helps my nervous system, maybe, because you do breathwork at the same time. What do you tap?
Starting point is 00:21:07 A peni. Your penile gland? I don't know. That'll wake you up. So, it's called vagal. Oh, vagal? Yeah. Vagel, according to the pronunciation.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Sweet. Or somatic body tapping. basically tap your body with your fingers for a few minutes to wake your nervous system up. There. Yeah, okay. So I guess I'm probably getting that when I open my limbs. She's limp. She's limp.
Starting point is 00:21:33 She's limp. She's in my head. Limp notes. Do you know that song? Yeah. It's not limp. I know. Practice mindfulness.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Yes, I do that. How do you do that? I do a meditation every morning. What on earth? I'm going to play it for you? What time do you wake up? I know. She gets.
Starting point is 00:21:50 She does. What is happening? How do you give all this time? Guys, a five minute meditation. Sometimes I do five, sometimes I do 10s, sometimes I do 15. Cooks a Thanksgiving dinner. She's tapping her body.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Walks around the neighborhood. This stuff doesn't take very long and you don't have to. You make a smoothie. No, I said on the mornings I have a smoothie. I actually admitted that like, oh, shoot, I haven't been doing that. So I don't always get a nutrient dense breakfast. But I certainly need to try. Can you imagine?
Starting point is 00:22:15 Hey, why were you late? I was doing my tapping. Well, you could tap in the car. Oh, no. Set in the wheel. Set in tension feels like. like a bit of mindfulness. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Yes, it is. And then number seven, enjoy your morning coffee. More and more research shows it's good for us. A study in November found it helps promote good bacteria in your gut. If you don't want the caffeine, even decap works.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Okay. And I... Check, check. I get that. You are the most adjusted then in the morning. I don't stretch. You do. I stretch a little bit.
Starting point is 00:22:42 You were doing it daily. Mm-hmm. I probably stretch four days a week, four to five days a week. That's good. I'm telling you, we need it. You're going to be... You're going to age better.
Starting point is 00:22:50 I mean. I can already am. Okay. I guess the other things. I don't know. I don't drink. Yeah. No drink and very little sun and no smoke.
Starting point is 00:22:58 That no drinking is going to come in handy. Big time, dude. I think so too. And I get to wear big glasses to cover up the eyes. You have all your hair. I know. Oh, I do have my hair. That's good.
Starting point is 00:23:09 That's good. What you say, I just said the more we learn about alcohol, it's like. It's not good for you. What's poison? Literally. I know. And we've always known that. But we've been conditioned to believe it's also a good time.
Starting point is 00:23:20 It is a good time. Or I need it to relax and it's like, okay. No, that's bad. You can't say that. The alcohol, PR people, genius. A plus the last 30 years. Yes. I feel like you shouldn't say I needed to relax. That's, that's, that's, that's problem. No, I don't think, no, I've never had a good time. Okay. I don't need it, but I have a good time when I drink it. Exactly. I guess, or if you want to relax or you want to unwind or just, I know that I've not had a problem with alcohol before, but there are times where I think I was a little too, like sort of like my coffee is comfort in the morning, like a glass of wine was comfort in the evening, but I didn't have an excessive problem. Like multiple in a night. Like I could stop at one or the next day if I needed to stop, I could. And I've witnessed someone that cannot. So I know the difference. And I'm like, okay, thank you. Thankfully, my body is not chemically attached to alcohol, but I do think you can get in a routine of, like, wanting it to relax. I think my cover comes from peanut tapping.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Peenite? Every morning. Go ahead, man. We'll move on. Yeah. Probably best. Two busted over the shocking theft of $60,000 in gifts during the wedding. We talked about this.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Yes, yes, yes. This is from the New York Post, a follow-up. suspect has been arrested over the theft of wedding gifts worth an estimated $60,000 during the reception, along with the accused of getaway driver. This person's accused of being well-dressed. That's an accusation I'd like. Yeah. I accuse you of being well-dressed. Thank you. A well-dressed wedding crusher caught on security camera, snatching a box of envelopes full of cash and checks from the dance floor. That's so balzy. You're vulnerable in there. If one person sees you and knows what you're up to, they're going to beat the crap out of you.
Starting point is 00:25:15 And you got to play it cool. They won't beat the crap out of you. If somebody sees you stealing something and they know it's you stealing something, they're going to beat the crap out of you. A drunk dude on a dance floor and a reception, they're punching brides at some wedding. You know they're going to punch somebody stealing a box of gifts? Cops believe he just went into the wedding and grabbed it. They got him, though. New York Post was that story.
Starting point is 00:25:37 So I was telling my mom about this story, and she was telling me that my cousin. cousin, she's not married anymore, but when she was married, her in-laws, every Saturday would go to this wedding venue that was right by their house and just show up and dance all night. So they would crash but not steal? Yeah, they would just go because it would be date night for them. That's funny. Yeah. That's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:26:00 They did it all the time. Yeah, that's funny. This is like, why pay for a dinner? You think maybe people that work at that venue are like, this couple gets invited to every wedding's here. That's a great point, too. That's true. Or it's like they know they're part of the wedding crashing crew, so they don't say anything. They just let it go.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Scuba, can we talk about your thing yet or no? Oh, sorry, I was doing something else. I have a meeting today so I can give you an answer this afternoon on when we can say it. Okay. By the way, what team are you on? What team I'm on? Yeah. For what?
Starting point is 00:26:36 Who wants to take this? I'll take it. Okay, go ahead. What team are you on, dude? Are you on the Bobby Bone Show team? Or are you on your rock show team? Oh my god, Eddie. I'm actually working on Bobby Boneshow stuff.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Okay. I'm in my other ear. Because we have a speaker in the break room, and I was told that Scuba went in there and changed it to the rock station when it was on our station. Oh, who told you that? Don't worry about that. Well, I like to know because that's actually false. I have no way to get to that.
Starting point is 00:26:59 It's on the rock station now. But I didn't do that. It was on a pop station a couple of days ago, and I was bitching about that. Everybody needs to understand every side project you have is only because of this project. And if that becomes your number one, that means this is no longer. you're number one and then you go away. I think I would be the last person. I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:27:18 I mean, I think somebody's trying to have a little prep here. I was excited. I was excited. Hold on. I can tell by his delivery. I would like to know. Which team would you are? Are you on the country team or the Iraq team?
Starting point is 00:27:32 Did I say it like that? I will hang up and listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. I was happy. I was happy that it was. it was changed because it's been on the pop station from the beginning.
Starting point is 00:27:45 I was like, oh, the company does not like us. But then it changed the country station. I'm like, now we're on to it. It feels right. And then I saw it was on the rock station. I said, who changed it? And like, scuba changed it. That's such a lie.
Starting point is 00:27:59 I don't have the iPad to change it. You're looking at, there's an iPad that's at the front desk. They change it. They said they rotated every couple days to a different station. So maybe the rotation now is in the rock station. They're probably flipped back to the pop station at some point. I mean, that makes sense to rotate. Did it because you have a building full of stations?
Starting point is 00:28:13 Yeah, that makes actual sense. It does make sense. So do you want to just say that... What team are you on? What team are you on? I'm on the Bar Bowen Show team. I've been since 2019. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:22 All right. Who told you? I can't say that. Ryan McKitty? Nope. He did himself. No. No.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Because he's not the one that put in the country station. Somebody else did. There's no one. This is such a non-story. Okay. Thank you for clarifying. I saw your age at Classic Rock. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:41 I got notes. Okay, tell me, please. For the TikTok version or the Instagram version? Because now I did two different ones. Yeah, TikTok. I took a screenshot. I had a version up there, and apparently you can't directly record the song into it. It kills it.
Starting point is 00:28:54 So then I had to do the crappy thing where you played in the speaker in the background. Yeah, that's not the note I have. So he knows speakers. Oh, that's a good one. That guy does know speakers. You see how it's the name? You got them. We trapped them.
Starting point is 00:29:06 Arrest them. Oh, my God. I took a screenshot. Scuba. Yeah. I know you can't see this, but this is the screenshot I took of your TikTok. Uh-huh. And you used an effect called Dark Bloom.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Yes. But Dark Bloom, the effect went over the name of the song. You can't see the song because it's over the top of it. Oh, see, that's me being ignorant. Yes. So I thought in my mind, let me pick a trending, because it was one of the trending filters. I was like, oh, that's pretty smart. So how are you seeing it that way?
Starting point is 00:29:35 Because I guess I'm not seeing it that. Maybe as a consumer you see it differently versus the owner of the profile. as a consumer probably. I was flipping through and I said, oh cool, let me watch this one. Because it's Chevelle. Ladea! That song. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:50 And he's like, is this classic rock and I'm like, well, I can't even see what the song is. Oh, it's so weird. I can see it clearly. It says Chevelle the Red. I know you can't see it from there either. But like it's super clear. It says it right there. Do you guys see my screenshot?
Starting point is 00:30:00 I mean, I don't get TikTok now. The song is under the... I would put the song in the more of the middle of the page, though. Okay. Should I just put it right below where it says, is it classic rock and then put the song right next to that? Maybe just... You can put it wherever, but I just thought it was funny.
Starting point is 00:30:14 That's funny. The name of the song was over the underneath the filter. That's funny. I had no idea. I don't see it that way. It's funny. And your Instagram didn't have the name of the song on it. Yeah, I put it in the actual, like, bio of the thing.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Nobody goes to the body. What are you laughing? I noticed all this stuff. You wave. Wait, nobody? I do. Yeah, you go. If you care enough about it, you go to the second.
Starting point is 00:30:41 you go to the second part. It's funny because you love to say like nobody cares. And you're not saying that nobody cares. You're not saying that 100% of the people. Jen Pop doesn't care. Jen Pop, that they don't have a relationship with you already. If you come across the For You page,
Starting point is 00:30:54 they do not care to go to the body unless you do something that makes them go to the body. And that's what I'm curious about hitting. And that's why I want to hit. So that's why this is super valuable to me. But you know how like we can get our feelings hurt though when you say like nobody cares. No, I don't care. I think nobody cares about a single thing that I do. unless I do it exactly right.
Starting point is 00:31:12 And even people that do care, I still have to breadcrumb them into places. But I think you're also just trying to say, like, you do you, like do what feels right. Like, nobody can't. No, I'm not saying that to him. No, I don't want to be. That's how I take it.
Starting point is 00:31:22 I don't want soft love. I want the truth. I don't want someone going to go, hey, you're doing a great job when I'm not. I'd rather know that I'm not doing a good job and how can I improve it? No, I think you're doing a fine job, and a good job even.
Starting point is 00:31:29 But also nobody cares. About anything. Nobody cares about anything. Right. Period. Yeah, nobody cares about anything at all. But that's not true. People care about certain things.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Yeah. Certain people care about certain things. But the idea of there are things now that people just care about generally because they're good and they exist does not count anymore at all. There's not even social media anymore. What? It's not social media. It's not people you follow. It's now for you media.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Like the way that you grow is not your friends liking it. It's all the things that you're doing that are fed to people that like things that you're doing. So that's people that don't know you. So you got to let them know immediately what they're getting or they're not going to take it. Because look at every social media now. It's not so much just our friends watching or people that we follow. For our growth, it depends on us being for you'd. And those people don't know us or care about us that we're being for you to.
Starting point is 00:32:18 So we have got to hook them in three seconds to care about us. And so all those little things matter that way. Nobody cares about anything. Yeah, and if you go with that approach, then you care about everything that you do to make sure all the little things are right so people then do care. That's all. I have a question. And do you, are you familiar with or do you see any value because I got TikTok now wants to give you 20% off to boost your post?
Starting point is 00:32:41 Is that stuff worth it? I haven't done it. I don't know if you have any thoughts on that. Good question. Yes and no. So where people mess up like companies is when they'll go like, eh, we don't really need. We'll just boost our posts. You shouldn't boost a post unless it already has success.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Okay. Because you can boost a post and pay 50 bucks for it. And it's going to get somewhere. They'll tell you between 5,000 and 19,000 views. But you're just going to get 5,000. if it's crappy. You're going to get the very low of that if people don't like it. Yeah. If you have something that is succeeding, that's when you boost
Starting point is 00:33:10 them. Okay. Something that's doing middle good to real good because you know people like it and so you want to get it to more people that will like it. So I wouldn't boost things at the very beginning. I would boost things that work. Okay. That makes sense. I think that right now is the answer. The thing is that's so fluid. Like I read freaking articles on this every week.
Starting point is 00:33:31 And then I also were like, I help people grow channels. We're growing channels. We're growing channels. channels. It is an art and a science, except it never, it's always fluid. Yeah, I've noticed that. There's no rhyme of reason for, especially between Instagram and TikTok, you think you figured it out and then there's something else now. Yeah, it's always changing. Yeah. So that's what's up. All right, cool. Thanks, man. You're welcome. Anything else? Good stuff, man. That boost question is great because I'm always wondering, I'm like, ooh, should I boost it? I don't know. You should boost something that is already
Starting point is 00:33:59 being organically boosted because of the quality of what you're producing. Yeah. So if you got a picture or a video that's working really well, boost that mofo. But don't boost something that's doing crappy because you're like, oh, if I boost it, people will like it. No, they've already showed you. They didn't like it. On Instagram, something I'd recommend to are trial reels. Trial reels? Yeah, especially if it's something you're like, it's not normally what I do, but let's see if it works, because it feeds it to people that aren't normally your people, and it gives you an idea if it's going to work. Okay. Is trial real like a thing within there, or this is you trying a reel? If you pay me 50 bucks, I can show you. Okay. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:34:31 I found 50 bucks in the studio. No, you did. What was your question? Well done, scuba. So is the trial reels? Is that like an actual feature within the app? Yes. On Instagram, yes.
Starting point is 00:34:43 Okay, so I didn't know about that. Does everybody have that, though? Does everybody have access to trial rules? I've seen it on. I don't know what everybody has. I know, like, the six accounts that I have all have it. So I don't know. I think they all have it now.
Starting point is 00:34:55 You got burner accounts over there? No, I got Bobbycast. I got mine. I got 25 whistles. I got bi-bone sports. We find out you're the one troll. in all of our posts. I'm the unknown number.
Starting point is 00:35:09 I'm unknowing catfish mom and you guys. Let's see. What are you even find that? Yeah, I don't see it. I think it's under. Yeah, I know at one point not everybody had it, but maybe now they do. Morgan says so.
Starting point is 00:35:25 She's the, she's the, they typically do slow rollouts of stuff. I know everybody started getting the repost feature finally, so that was a slow rollout too. Yeah. So. Okay. There you go.
Starting point is 00:35:39 I got a new AI one. That'd be a couple tips. What? I got a new AI. Like when you try to post, AI is an option. To say it's AI, to say the content's probably AI. Describe your AI. Oh, yeah, that's what it is.
Starting point is 00:35:52 Yeah. I never do that. Even if I do something AI, I never say that. I did one where I posted a picture of me and Jerry Jones forgot to say that it was AI. Was it AI? Yeah. Stop. Yes, it was me and Jerry Jones having coffee?
Starting point is 00:36:07 Fake. Photoshop and AI are different things. No, AI created it. Oh, they did? Yeah, yeah. Okay. All right. You want to do another little dramatic moment here?
Starting point is 00:36:17 Yes. Are you guys in the mood for another slightly dramatic moment? Yes. I'll go over to Morgan for this because she is preparing for lunchbox to be mad at her again. I guess speaking of social media. She kind of went viral again. Oh, no. Twice.
Starting point is 00:36:32 Yeah. Oh, for what? I have a video that's going viral on TikTok right now. It's over one million views. and then I have one on Instagram that's about to hit one million views. And the video is? The video on TikTok is of, I was out walking in Franklin and I saw a dog getting fed scrambled eggs.
Starting point is 00:36:50 So I posted it. Like sitting outside. Yeah. That's pretty cool. And I was like, I want to beat this dog in another life. And then I posted one on Instagram of my boyfriend giving me snacks. That was like our deal to watch NFL games.
Starting point is 00:37:03 And apparently it's hit with the NFL crowd. Oh, nice. Yeah, that one I kind of like was like silly. moved on. Well, it has almost a million views. Wasn't it for you. The egg one, though, that's funny. Yeah, the egg one's funny.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Look like Spuds McKinsey. He does. He has a little hat on and it's got sunglasses. It was a cute moment. How you feel about that, lunchbox? Double viral. Man, it's really annoying. It's pretty stupid.
Starting point is 00:37:28 I mean, but I guess if you post enough, something will click. I mean, she does post a lot. That's not true. You post a lot. I don't post as much as her. Yeah, but that means something to click with you. Just maybe a little slower, but they'd still be Yeah. That's annoying. Let me go to your TikTok. Let me see this stupid dog.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Dang. How many times you had to shoot that? The dog video? Yeah. One. I was just walking by. She hired a crew. Yeah. It was a whole production crew. Can you bring that fork back? I can't really see it. Hold on. Hold on. No. I don't need to see whoever that person is. How do I go to you? What was that? I don't know. Where do I go to you? It sounds like something he wanted off his phone quick. Well, I don't know who they were. Ramundo, what's the deal with you? You say, would you have called police in this situation?
Starting point is 00:38:14 Yeah, so I was curious. I was coming to work. It was around 1 a.m., let's say, and there was this drunk dude on our side street here. I hear cops right now. Yeah. Oh, boy. Wow, that dog is sitting at the table. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:38:27 And lunch run to the next story. We've moved on. We've moved on. Yeah, go ahead. And he, this drunk man is stopping traffic. And I was one of them. So he stops me and he goes, Hey man, are you good to drive?
Starting point is 00:38:40 You've been drinking? I go, no, dude, I'm just going to work. He was, okay, we're going to clear you through. You're good to go, man. Starts waving his arms. His buddies are dying laughing. Then the next vehicle comes. It's a semi.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Semi, like kind of honks. Like, what is going on? He's like, hey, man, are you good to drive? Are you good? Let's go. Let's clear him through. So he's in the middle of the street directing traffic. Hammered.
Starting point is 00:38:58 He wasn't blackout, so I didn't think he was really going to get run over. And we all know the traffic doesn't really travel that fast on this side street. Is this a situation where I would have notified authorities or just, let the drunk guy have some fun with his buddies directing traffic acting like he's a crossing guard. I think that's a 3-1-1 call. We have that? Oh, like a 4-1-1 or 3-1-1? Yeah, yeah, they have the non-emergency number. Yeah, that's the non-emergency number call. Hey, we got a guy here because he also could be hurt by a car.
Starting point is 00:39:25 Right. See, that's what I was going to do. The dump truck came through and didn't really stop. He could have gotten run over if we checked the security cameras. But I thought he's just having fun. It was a good American moment. You know, just let it happen. You know what I'm saying? Are you really seriously considering calling the cops on that? That is hilarious. It's something you would do. It's something you do when you're sober when the gas leak was going on. Maybe he needed to have the cops called on him. That doesn't mean just because you did it. It's okay. I think it's fun. But I would, if you wanted to call somebody, I wouldn't. But you could call whatever the non-emergency number is. Yeah, I just felt like he was walking that fine line.
Starting point is 00:39:59 You know what, man? It's pretty funny. I'm going to let you do it. But next time, next time you get any more in my vehicle's way, I'm going to have to call the cops. Just hit him. I had no idea what was going on. I thought it was another gas leak. Another gas leak. There were firefighters in here. Yeah, there were. When?
Starting point is 00:40:17 Today. Yeah. Like an hour ago. I saw them. I thought they were just expecting. They were walking around our building. Oh, I don't leave this room. Yeah, they were walking around our floor.
Starting point is 00:40:25 You didn't see him. Yeah. I don't leave this room. They might have been looking for that guy. Still, somebody reported them, chasing him down. I saw two guys on a scooter. Like one of those lime scooters on the interstate. Oh, funny.
Starting point is 00:40:39 How fast were they going this? Not enough. What's the maximum? Five miles per hour, 10? Like, they were just, and they were like dumb and dumber, you know? Like, one was driving the other one. Were they on the side side or were they on the side of one lane? No, they were on the interstate and it was a ramp. So the interstate was like exiting and it was a ramp and they were on the side of the lane just trying to, and one of them had the phone up like take a right here. They were mapping it? They were mapping the interstate on a line.
Starting point is 00:41:05 Which I had, like, there's no, I thought they would shut down. I didn't think they would let get on an interstate. So they do, it's not that you can go or not go on interstate, but they do have like, uh, perimeters. You can't go, but that could be, you make it be on the other side of it. I don't know. Man, they were on the interstate. It was crazy. Because they've shut down on me before, but never because of an interstate. They've shut down because I'm like near the water. I saw a homeless guy throw a couple in the lake. Oh, through what? Throw a couple in the lake. A couple of, oh, scooters. Yeah. Oh, no, no, no. Yeah. No. I saw that drunk guy. There was, there was never, yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Maybe they... I just didn't think that was possible. And the fact that they were just like, you can tell they were saying, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap. We shouldn't be up here. I don't know why they wouldn't shut those down, though, getting to an interstate because there's really no reason you can get to the other side of it. Unless... Maybe it's a personal one. Maybe it was a personal one.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Doesn't they own a personal line? No, no. They own a personal. They have electric scooters, though. Yeah, but this was like a lime scooter. Well, I just said lime. It was a big one. That's not somebody who owns a scooter.
Starting point is 00:42:04 That's somebody who's new to town and it's trying to figure out where they're going. Yeah, that's weird. It's crazy. Because I could understand if it was okay to, not okay, but if it were inside the perimeter, if there's like a bridge, because we have bridges here in Nashville that go over busy places. You can take a scooter on that. So maybe that's why they don't shut that area down. Yeah, like the GPS just shows it above.
Starting point is 00:42:26 Yeah, I don't know. Crazy. Well, I'm watching somebody on a Lime scooter on the interstate now. I think you can get ticketed. That's death. That's death. Yeah. Yeah, that's no joke.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Wow. Scoba, we have to get a screen in here. Oh, we're working on it. Okay. We went up to Barstool and did a bunch of shows up there. And they just go, yeah, but put it up on the screen. And they put the camera on the screen and they have somebody running the screen. And I'm like, this is like the simplest thing.
Starting point is 00:42:57 We should have this. I just saw an email come in. Yeah, so we have the capability already because we put zooms and stuff on that wall over there. So it's just a matter of getting Mike's computer to go up there. So Zach's going to come in either tomorrow or Thursday. Put it up on the big screen? Yes, that way. You can see it there for camera.
Starting point is 00:43:10 Yeah, because anything, like then, Mike could have brought that up. I'm over here watching a guy in a Zoom on the interstate. We can all see it. I think it's a great idea. So we're going to get that up for you this week. Okay, thank you. You're welcome. Let's see if there's anything else before we take a break.
Starting point is 00:43:23 I think it's it. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me. Clipper Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football,

Starting point is 00:48:22 Bobby Boom, come on. Let's go to Michael in Mississippi, who is on the phone. Michael, what's going on? Good morning, Bobby. Morning. Morning. I had a little thing I was going to tell you on. I've got a great friend of mine.
Starting point is 00:48:35 Y'all do the Tuesday Reviews Day, and I've got a great friend of mine that was a firefighter. And 24 years ago, he went into a burning house and the house collapsed on him. and suffered major facial damages and everything and no doctor, anybody, really figured out how he lived out of it. He said he wasn't supposed to live out of it. Well, 10 years ago, he had a life-changing surgery that was the first ever full face transplant in the world. And he's lived through it. He's doing great. He just released his new book.
Starting point is 00:49:05 It's called Facing the Fire. And I know how you support the firefighters and police officers and figured this may be something y'all would be interested in reading. And it's a very touching story of his life story of how everything happened. Well, I'll check it out. And I think I'm happy you call it because you just said the name of it. And our listeners can also go check it out too. So that's super cool. He was able to survive that and thrive from that.
Starting point is 00:49:30 Yeah, the guy's name is Pat Hardison. He's one of the best people you'll ever meet that he gave you the shirt off of his back to this day. And, I mean, just his story and what he's been through. And, I mean, he lost his nose, his eyes, ears. He had no eyelids. And I mean, it was, the doctors were amazed that he even lived through it. He said nobody was supposed to live through anything like that. I appreciate that. Facing the fire. Pat Hardison, I'm looking at it now. Hope the book does wonderful things. Michael, appreciate you calling. Yeah. Thank you. And thank you for taking time, take this call.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Yeah, of course. See you later. Which, by the way, reminds me. I just don't believe in Helen Keller. Uh-oh. Elaborate. What do you mean you don't believe in her? Well, I think she existed, but I think the stories have been. exaggerated. You're going to tell me, because you know the story of Helen Keller? I'm looking her up. Yes. Yeah, this, actually, well, you don't even know this, but therapy Kat and I talk about her a little bit on our podcast this week because she got genetic testing done. Helen Keller did?
Starting point is 00:50:30 No. My friend Kat. And the person that was delivering her the news, she's like, like in an excited tone. She's like, you're not going to believe this. But you have, talking to Kat, not her husband. She's like, you carry one of the genes that we call like the Helen Keller gene. And Kat's like, why are we sounding so excited right now? I mean, yes, I'm sure my child could still thrive and that's great. And there are people that may have this. But you're delivering news to me that like, what if? So my child potentially could be blind, deaf and mute.
Starting point is 00:51:00 You know? She just thought she'd dial back the excitement because of the level of challenges that may come with that. And then I was like, oh, there is a theory out there. And I told her and she had no idea. She never heard that potentially maybe some of it was exaggerate. Not that she was blind, deaf, mute, but her accomplishments? Is that what you're referring to? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Yeah. Yeah. So she was blind, deaf, mute. So Helen Keller was unable to see and hear due to an illness in 19 months old. So, again, she couldn't see or hear. Because of her, they call it deaf blindness? I've never heard of that term before. She could not easily communicate, which led to frustration and unruly behavior in her youth.
Starting point is 00:51:36 However, she was not unable to do anything. With the help of her teacher, Ann Sullivan, she learned to communicate, read, right, speak, and even ride a bicycle, ultimately becoming a college graduate, a prolific author, and a world around activist for people with disabilities. Got it. What don't you believe? How do she, if she can't see or hear, how would she know to do anything? How can she communicate?
Starting point is 00:52:01 No, they do say she communicated through touch. There we go. But she doesn't know what anything is. And they also say that when you lose a sense, you get two more. She lost a lot of senses. There we go. So she has tons of other ones. I'm on board with Bobby.
Starting point is 00:52:14 I don't even know anything about her, but I'm not believing it. I think it was probably exaggerated a bit. I think she did great things for what she was born into. Super tragic that she didn't have the ability to do that stuff. But we didn't even have cameras back then. Like my buddy Richie. Like to record stuff. My buddy Richie, he was blind.
Starting point is 00:52:35 He played football. He was a running back. And like he played football for four years in high school. Yeah, that is kind of crazy. Was he legally blind or blind? Legally blind. Like blackout blind. stick and everything, couldn't see anything.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Okay, but in football, though, this is what I would argue, you're a running back, you probably didn't play a lot. He didn't start. Right. Yeah, probably didn't play a lot. Shocking. But he could hear. And he would hold on to the blocker. Okay. That was kind of his. Okay. But that's probably in a part of the game where they were up, they were up a lot. Or down a lot. And the other team knew not to wipe them out. Right. And also, even if you're blind and you say you're strong and you're fast, just run forward. Yeah. And it's going to hurt about 1.2 seconds.
Starting point is 00:53:19 But I don't think any of us in here would run forward full speed if we had our eyes closed. I'd be like, I'm not doing it. I don't want to run in the wall. I didn't want to do it with my eyes open. Like I played football and I was like, ow. All right. So, yeah, I just think the saga of Helen Keller has been a bit exaggerated. I think it needed to be exaggerated, though.
Starting point is 00:53:38 It gives a lot of people hope. But I mean, are you saying 100%? you're saying there's still a chance she could have done all that. I don't know. I don't think, again, this is me just going what, this is what I think. So I don't know. I wasn't there. Nobody was there. How long ago was this? 18. 1800s? Yeah. I mean, there were people there, but we didn't record it. We don't have it on video. Nobody had their iPhones out. You can just make up whatever you wanted. Before like 1938, you could just make up whatever you wanted. And if enough people agreed with you, it became truth. All you had to do was convince enough people and they would pass it on.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Anything before that time. It just became truth. Get enough people to write it down. It's truth. I just don't think that the story that they have convinced us is completely accurate. But I could be wrong. It says you're like any great writer. Helen had editors too.
Starting point is 00:54:28 Including her teacher and her companion. I also don't think Shakespeare was real. Who proofread her books. Oh, wow. Huh? I also don't think Shakespeare was real. What? I think there was a person, but I think it was other people writing for him.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Shakespeare never went to school. William Shakespeare never had a formal education. William Shakespeare wrote about places that he was writing about that he had never even been. You don't write about foreign places that accurately that you've never been without an education, and it'd be that prolific. Why'd they choose him to be the face and then he had like ghostwriters? Yeah, there are theories. A lot of theories.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Like Mark Twain didn't believe in William Shakespeare. Interesting. This is bad. We went from Helen Keller to Shakespeare. Everything's getting crumbled here. Well, and listen. Like, is anything real? I mean, but do you know what happened?
Starting point is 00:55:10 There were no cameras. You can do whatever you want. Just get enough. people to agree to it, write it down, and it's now the truth. That's history. But does it really affect us? Like William Shakespeare, he didn't write any of that. Who cares? Let me ask my sister. She can give me better. There we go. I didn't come in prepared for this conversation. Hello, good morning. Could you present to me the top five reasons people feel like William Shakespeare was fake or a fraud? Good morning. Absolutely. I can dive into that. So there's a whole area of speculation known as the Shakespeare
Starting point is 00:55:44 Authorship question. And it's been around for. a long time. Here are probably five of the top reasons people argue that Shakespeare might not have been the actual author of all those famous plays. There's what people call the education argument. Basically, skeptics think that the historical William Shakespeare of Stratford-upon-Avon didn't have the formal education or the aristocratic background they imagined someone would need to write such sophisticated works. Second, there's the idea that Shakespeare was a sort of frontman for another writer or a group of writers? Some folks think maybe an aristocrat like Edward Devere, the Earl of Oxford, or Francis Bacon,
Starting point is 00:56:23 or even Christopher Marlowe, wrote the plays, but used the name Shakespeare for various personal or political reasons. There are people point to certain anomalies in the historical record. For example, they say there's not a lot of direct evidence linking the man from Stratford to the actual act of writing the plays. They think it's odd that there aren't surviving manuscripts in his own hand or that the mentions of him in official documents don't really highlight him as a writer of great renown. Fourth, there's a kind of class argument. Some people think that only someone who was more familiar with the royal court and high society
Starting point is 00:56:58 could have written so insightfully who got the lives of nobles and the intricacies of politics and power. And finally, some folks just love a good mystery. The idea that Shakespeare might have been a pen name or a collective pseudonym is one of those literary conspiracies that keeps going because it's just a fun puzzle for people to debate. Can you give me the person that died around the time that Shakespeare stopped publishing work, so a lot of people feel like it was that particular person? Absolutely. So one of the most famous candidates in that whole Shakespeare authorship debate is Edward Devere,
Starting point is 00:57:31 the 17th Earl of Oxford. He passed away in 1604, and a lot of the plays attributed to Shakespeare were published or performed after that. people who believe in the Oxfordian theory as it's called think that maybe Devere wrote the plays and they were released under Shakespeare's name which would explain why the real Shakespeare stopped writing around the same time Devere died So that's one of the big theories that tied to him.
Starting point is 00:57:57 So the guy died and Shakespeare never wrote another play after that. Interesting but he was still alive for a little bit. Who? Shakespeare. Shakespeare was but they didn't write anymore. Yeah he just stopped writing when this other guy who they feel like was probably doing the writing for Shakespeare died. They kept performing them but they were alive. already written. Shakespeare just retired. He Seinfelded.
Starting point is 00:58:12 You know what? I'm done. Right when that dude died. There's just a lot. There's a lot to that. And again, we can't, we didn't record it. So, I don't like, I don't like her. She annoys me. Who? Amy. And you know what? I like Amy. Amy's been with me for 20 years and you like her. Your AI assistant.
Starting point is 00:58:30 She's so annoyed. Why? Because she's just like, good morning. Let me tell you everything I know. And it's all real. It's like, I don't know. She has a tone to her voice. that's kind of annoying. She knows my wife too. She thinks she's just like better than us.
Starting point is 00:58:45 She does. That's it. But she is. That's the way to say it. She is. But that's my Shakespeare thing. Yeah, yeah. Because they can say whatever they want.
Starting point is 00:58:54 We weren't alive. They can say whatever they want. They can pass anything down to us. And again, if enough people agree to it, even if they're in a room and go, we're all going to write this and we're all going to say it. And there's no way to disprove it. The truth is written word. except it's not really the truth, it's just what exists.
Starting point is 00:59:11 And why would the Earl of Oxford not want the credit to write all those? I'm glad you asked. A lot was political. Another thing is being a playwright was not seen as something like it is now, like an actor is something that is held high esteem. That was a job that people made fun of. You're probably a weirdo. He writes plays.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Yep. Especially somebody that was royal or somebody that was well educated. You didn't write plays. You became a doctor. You studied science. Interesting. Who's more real? Helen Keller or Shakespeare?
Starting point is 00:59:39 Helen Keller was for sure a real person. No, no, I get that. I understand. Oh, so you don't think Shakespeare was a real person? I think Shakespeare existed, yes. But some people think Shakespeare was just a dude they picked, and you're going to be the guy that is now famous from this, but you're really not that person.
Starting point is 00:59:57 Helen Keller, I think those people existed both. William Shakespeare and Helen Keller. I think Helen Keller was more of what we think of her, but definitely not to the level. I think Shakespeare was used as a frontman. There needs to be a movie on this. On that theory, that Shakespeare was just a regular dude. There are people that, I mean, this isn't something that I'm like breaking news.
Starting point is 01:00:23 No, that's good stuff. Maybe there is a documentary, Eddie. Would you mind telling me about Mark Twain not believing in William Shakespeare? Not at all. It's actually a pretty interesting little P-Hill literary history. Oh, my gosh. No, Mark Twain, who was obviously a famous author in his own right, was one of the notable skeptics of the whole Shakespeare authorship question.
Starting point is 01:00:45 He wrote about it in his essay called Is Shakespeare Dead, which came out in 1909. Twain basically found it hard to believe that the man from Stratford could have produced all of these incredible works, given what we supposedly know about his background. Twain kind of approached it in a humorous way, but he definitely leaned into the idea that someone else, maybe Francis Bacon or someone of that arrow, was the true author. behind the Shakespearean canon. So, yeah, Twain was definitely in that camp of people who found the whole authorship question
Starting point is 01:01:14 intriguing and had his doubts about the man from Stratford. Pretty interesting, huh? Yeah, it is for sure. Yeah. So that's what's up. Let's go over to Angie in Jackson, Mississippi. Let's talk to her. Angie, you're on the show.
Starting point is 01:01:29 Hey, Bobby, how are you? Doing pretty good. What's going on? Well, I wanted to tell you why you should come to the Ole Miss game this weekend. Are you an Ole Miss fan? You want to watch me cry? after a loss? Oh, I'm an Ole Miss fan. My kids graduated from there. Most of our family went there. Archie and Eel have played there, so that's something. But we also have great restaurants.
Starting point is 01:01:51 If you're on into the bar scene, we have historical landmarks like Rowanoke where William Faulkner live. So, you know, if you're looking for something to do before tailgating starts, and those are some great options. but we have the fanciest tents, not everybody decorates, but we have tents with drapes and chandeliers and I'm actually part of the disco tent. I'm staring at a basket of disco balls
Starting point is 01:02:16 that are going to with me this weekend. But, you know, win or lose the game, we never lose a party, and I think you'll have a great time. You'll be treated with genuine southern hospitality and you'll be glad you came. That's some bullcrap, but the hospitality. I think Missing people are awesome,
Starting point is 01:02:32 After a game, it ain't always so hospitable. But I'll say, again, I've been. It's awesome. But I wouldn't go in the night before. And I wouldn't do anything. I'm not going in trying to like find the 10 hot spots in the town. I would go. I walk around.
Starting point is 01:02:49 I go to the game. I come home. It's just quite the commitment if you lose. That's all. I got four hours driving back after a loss. That'd be tough too. And I think it's probably four and a. half and then also
Starting point is 01:03:03 game traffic and I look at that and not game traffic you guys are a seven point underdog yeah that just looked up the odds that's pretty terrible a full touchdown the whole touchdown
Starting point is 01:03:14 and an extra point I don't know I'll think about it Angie thank you for calling and I really appreciate that hey you should work on the committee the town committee what do they call that
Starting point is 01:03:22 the chamber of commerce I don't know I don't know if I should come to the game I promise you if you come to the right tent you'll have a great time. My history, though, is they call me Mr. Go to the wrong tent.
Starting point is 01:03:36 Oh. Yeah, yeah. If there's a wrong tent, I go to it. And so, yeah, thank you, Angie. I hope you guys lose, but I hope it's a fun weekend for you. And if you, oh, we got, 357, 422. Hut! No, those are times.
Starting point is 01:03:53 So, what are you doing? So this game is going to be, let's see. Three hours, 57 minutes, if I drive right now. Oh, right now. Pittman versus Kiffin. Yes, the coaches. That's an easy one. Kiffin?
Starting point is 01:04:09 Yeah. Yeah. Well. Kiff is also a lot younger. I haven't looked up their salaries yet. Hold, please. Kiffin makes more. Oh, just because he's more seasoned?
Starting point is 01:04:20 No, he's not more seasoned. Oh, Kiffin makes more than, sorry, I was flipping them real quick. Yeah, it's not the age thing. You don't just make more. I know, but I figured with age comes experience. Kevin's had more success. Really? And other head.
Starting point is 01:04:32 coaching jobs. Yeah. He was head coach at Tennessee, USC. He's head coach at the Raiders. Head coach at Ole Miss, went down to Florida for a bit. He's been everywhere. He's Johnny Cash. He's been everywhere. Oh, yeah. What do you got? What's your salary? Well, that's his 2022 salary. So let's go. Wow. Okay. So he's over $7 million a year. That's his current. Kiffin. Do you not have it up? Oh, got it. Nine million. It kept showing me previous years. And I'm I'm like, I need the up-to-date. He's at $9 million a year.
Starting point is 01:05:07 Okay. Starting this year, he went up to that. And what's Pittman at? Okay. Pittman. Got to change Arkansas. I'd imagine his is like five. Five mil?
Starting point is 01:05:21 Yeah. Ding, ding, ding. It's $5 million. Yeah. I know about that one. I'm sure you do. But do you pay it. I'm sure you know that number.
Starting point is 01:05:29 I know about that one a little bit. So, yeah, let me do one more call. Carolina Roy is on the phone. Hey, Carolina Roy, what's going on? Good morning, Bobby. Morning, buddy. Hey, how are you, Bobby?
Starting point is 01:05:43 We're doing pretty good. What can I do for you, buddy? Well, you see, I had to ask for stuff, so I don't want to win nothing from me. All right. But my birthday was past Saturday on the 6th. And since you're a Carolina Panthers fairing now, keep pounding, unlike the Broncos,
Starting point is 01:05:59 poor Abby. Sorry, Abby. I was wondering, whenever you go to Charlotte, would you want to maybe meet up so you can meet the real Carolina Roy? Yeah, if I come to Charlotte to a game, I'd love to meet Carolina Roy. But the only question is, how would I know that you're coming? Would you say it on the radio? Would you send me a DM?
Starting point is 01:06:18 No, he'll just text you. He'll text you, man. I'm going to give you lunchbox his cell phone number. And then once he finds out I'm coming, he will text you and let you. Nope, nope, no. Do we have, Abby, we have Carolina Roy's number? Yeah, we do. So if I do decide that I'm going to go one weekend, I'll let Abby know,
Starting point is 01:06:34 and we'll reach out and let you know. All right, well maybe, I don't know, I get to some games occasionally, but maybe we can find a way to get in contact with somebody, and you could probably be the drummer. You know how they do the drumming before the game? I do know that, yeah. Somebody pounds pounds pounds pounds pound the drum before the game, so maybe we can work something out.
Starting point is 01:06:56 Yeah, that would be cool. Yep. I guess I'm confused, like, if I pound the drum. The wee part? Is that what you're confused? Yeah. No, no, he'll stay next to you. He wants to go with you.
Starting point is 01:07:09 Or he'll get one stick and bang two. Yeah, Amy has taken the words from my mouth. What do you mean the we part when I pound the drum? Not me, like you. Yeah. And like, would you be next to him? I mean, I guess I don't know. Whatever happens.
Starting point is 01:07:24 I don't know. Whatever happens happens. I feel that. Carolina, Roy, I appreciate that. I will let you know if I'm coming to town. All right, I appreciate it. Happy birthday, buddy. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:07:35 I appreciate it. Can you do one favor? before you go? You just said you weren't going to ask for anything. Can you play Jason Arant? Well, we're not on the air. We're talking right now. Well, maybe tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:07:49 Okay. All right, I'll see you, Bobby. All right, I'll see you, Bobby. All right, see you, Carolina, Roy. Bye-bye. I like old Roy. Good dude. He weed pretty quickly.
Starting point is 01:07:58 Oh, yeah, yeah. I think he just wants to be next to you while you pound the drum. Yeah. Yeah. And you know what? I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I think if I pound the drum,
Starting point is 01:08:05 Maybe we can make that happen. Okay, cool. Be sure to go and watch on our YouTube page. We have the second round of quarterfinals today in our Jenga tournament. I'll be playing Abby. I'm like Amy. I don't know that I've ever played Jenga before. Really?
Starting point is 01:08:23 I think casually like a dinner maybe somewhere if they had it or like bars. Or like the big one, the human size? I've never been like one-on-one, like the pressure. Abby, you ever played Jenga? Yeah, a lot. Okay. Oh, boy. I think Abby's a favorite.
Starting point is 01:08:37 Well, I don't think she'll freak out. Yeah, she'll get. I should really get in her head. No, can we do a no talking? Are we going to go live on this one? Sure. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:48 So our YouTube page, it'll be live. Also, I watched both last night because I want to make the rolls a bit better. I think we got in a better place on the Eddie and Scoob around, where it was a minute each. With a chance to go 30 more. with one additional add-on, which can be another minute. So we'll do a minute each. Oh, another minute. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:11 Because it was just too fast. And also, well, Amy also died quick. Classed. Like somehow she grabbed, I mean, she went to the bottom. She tried to karate chop all three out at once. It was amazing. So we'll do that. You can go to our YouTube page at Bobby Bones Show and follow over there for that.
Starting point is 01:09:26 Okay. We'll see you guys tomorrow. I have a podcast up today, a new interview with Matthew Ramsey from Old Dominion. We did over an hour together. my house. Oh, you know what's coming over today? I'll sing you a song. Okay. It ain't me. It ain't no fortunate one. I thought it was fortunate son. Yeah, he does one, but son, yes.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Fortunate son, fortunate one. That's the title. Yeah. Okay, how about? Oh, Susuzee. Bum, dum, dum, dum, whoa, suzacue, baby, I love you. I don't know the name. How about, rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling. Rolling.
Starting point is 01:10:04 I know. I don't know the name. Wrote that, wrote that song. Okay. Did he write, my mom like that Susie Q's song. He wrote that, yeah. Hey, what else you got? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:10:12 Oh, I got a lot, actually. I got, uh, there's a bad moon on the rise. He's got some good songs. I got, uh, trying. Oh, good one. Go ahead. I want to know. Have you ever seen in the rain?
Starting point is 01:10:28 Or Willie and the poor boys are playing. Yeah. Bring a nickel tap your feet. I know every single one of these songs. So is it? Can I guess? Creedon's Clearwater Revival guy. He's the guy that did all that.
Starting point is 01:10:42 Do you know the guy? John Fogarty. Wow. Wow. Where did that come from? I don't know, man. Good job. Good job. Yeah, he's coming.
Starting point is 01:10:50 I have two house interviews today. I've Ben Jones, a former senator for the Titans coming over. Doing that for lots to say. And then John Fogarty's coming over. That's amazing. For an hour. That's cool. And doing that.
Starting point is 01:11:02 Where does he live? not here not here oh he's you know who i had lined up to come to the house not this weekend but next brian bosworth the boss come on amy and we're in Vegas fry heart oh so he can't do you had him lined up though or the i knew he was coming to town so i had my agent reach out to his and he was like we'd love to do it and i was like what what day is he coming and i was like oh he's always in town I was like, oh, of course, it's when I'm... Yeah. No, wait a minute.
Starting point is 01:11:36 It's when I'm at Notre Dame. It's what it is. Oh, okay. Yeah. Oh, you know what I was going to do for you, Amy? I can't do it. I love when people say this to me. Like, oh, you know what I was going to do for you?
Starting point is 01:11:44 Sure. I was going to take you to Russell. Russell Dickerson? Russell. Oh, Russell. I thought I was thinking WrestleMania. WrestleMania. Yeah, Russell.
Starting point is 01:11:56 Russell ploza. I was going to say if you wanted to go to Indianapolis, but it's R.I. Heart weekend. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. Big event. I know.
Starting point is 01:12:02 For the five minutes I was into wrestling. No, I think you'd enjoy it if you went to the show. It did impact me emotionally. I bet I could tap back into that. Hey, and you'd love to tap. So Brian Bosworth. The Boss. He's a big guy.
Starting point is 01:12:17 Linebacker at O.U. Yeah. Played NFL too. Okay. I have Matthew Ramsey today on from Old Dominion. Go check that out. Amy, what do you have over there? Nothing today.
Starting point is 01:12:28 Oh, I do have today. My bad. I have the thing. I think the title that we came up with is like the one thing I won't touch without protection. That's what is it? You have to listen. Amy is it? We thought that.
Starting point is 01:12:45 I don't know. It was whatever. It's like, okay, fine. The simple things in life, it can really, like a small change can really change the vibe. Like tiny things you can do that'll change your mood. Wait, are you changing the title now? And there's one thing that totally changed my mood. You're talking about a whole different show.
Starting point is 01:13:01 No, but. You touch your penis. No, something that I use. Change your mood. Something that I used and Kat thought it was really weird that I won't use it. It totally will change the vibe. We don't care about the teaser. You have to listen.
