Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey, I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance.
Starting point is 00:00:30 And then there's your body having its own program. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast Money and Wealth with John Ho'Brien, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here? We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John Hope Bryant from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Ernest, look, money is something we all deal with, but financial literacy is what helps us. turns income into real wealth. On each episode of the podcast, Earn Your Leisure, we break down the conversations you need to understand money, investing, and entrepreneurship. From stocks and real estate to credit, business, and generational wealth, our goal is simple. Make financial literacy accessible for everyone.
Starting point is 00:01:45 Because when you understand the system, you can start to build within it. Open your free iHeart radio app. Search Earn Your Leisure and listen now. American soccer is about to explode. The World Cup is coming. Ramers sending on to Ernie Stewart the chip. I'm Tab Ramos.
Starting point is 00:02:06 I'm Tom Bowker. On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines, the biggest decisions, and the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcast, wherever you get your podcast. Will Ferrell's Big Marks, money players and IHeart podcast presents soccer moms. So I'm Leanne. Yeah. This is my best friend, Janet.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely. A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip. Just a little bit bigger hips. This is a podcast we're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drinks.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they hit a bogo. Well, then you got it. Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you you get your podcasts. The guy in Russia went into a kidney failure. He did 2,000 squats to win a bet with a friend. I'm talking about dedication.
Starting point is 00:03:15 I felt that. The 2,000 squats put him into kidney failure? Yeah, I mean, that part second. But let's go. Like, he committed the bet. It's a dumb bet. Two friends making a dumb bet. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Now, I don't like how, you know what, happened for you. Yeah, yeah. A guy was hospitalized and treated for kidney failure after doing 2,000 squats to win a bet with a friend. Doctors at a hospital, recently reported the unusual case of a man in his early 20s who was hospitalized with severely reduced kidney function as a result of physical overextension. The patient told doctors that his troubles began after winning a bet with a friend who challenged him to do 2,000 squats in a set period of time. Confident as physical abilities, he accepted. Yeah, as I'm talking about, buddy, you'll always have that memory.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Oh, dude, if you were like the other guy that placed the bet, though, that's a terrible feeling. Your buddy's hurt. He's kidney failed. The only similar experience is Amy drinking that hot shot. We thought she was going to die. I thought it was over. There have only been a few times in my life where I'm like, nope, show's over, as in not for the day, like forever. And Amy took a shot of the hottest shot ever.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Yeah, like alcohol. Yeah, much like the hottest chip ever. Much like the hottest, they have all these. She took the hottest shot ever. I threw it back like it was. It was a regular shot. It was a regular shot. Texas A&M, college station.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Well, no, I mean, I just wanted to get it over with, but I had no idea what was about to hit me. No idea. None of us did. We were not prepared. Maybe she started slamming the table. But she lost a bet. It wasn't that we made her do it.
Starting point is 00:04:51 She lost a wheel, I believe. Something like that. So she takes the shot and then you screamed something. You screamed. Help me. Yeah, somebody help me. Help me.
Starting point is 00:05:02 And we all froze. We didn't know what to do. That's the worst thing she could have yelled. If she would yell, I'm hurting. This is terrible. Ow, all of that. We're like, oh, no, that sucks. Yeah, you play the game.
Starting point is 00:05:15 You know, play dumb games, win dumb prizes type thing. But when she yells, help me. Like a little bit, my heartflare. Oh, God. Yeah, I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. I really did. I really did. Guys, that's a real bad 15 seconds for me.
Starting point is 00:05:31 15 seconds. For me, for you, it's longer. But for me, that's a real bad 15 seconds where I was like, uh-oh. Yeah. But yeah, shout out to the guy who did the 2000 squats. I'm proud of you, buddy. It doesn't say what they bet. Like, what does this mean for him long term with his kidneys?
Starting point is 00:05:45 It's a new one. The bet. Golly. Guys are stupid with bets, right? We like to do bets. Lunchbox once made a bet with his roommate that he would grow his hair out for an entire year. And the bet was for, I believe, $1,000? $1,200.
Starting point is 00:05:59 $1,200. It's a random number. He would do. Well, yeah, why was it? So my roommate bet me $1,000 and my other buddy gave me $200. And I was like, $1,200, I'm in. To not get a haircut for a full year. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:11 And I'm talking about it's gross. No. It grew gross. It grew with absolutely no, like, wave, no curl. It was as true as could be. And so it's kind of gross. But he grew it out. over a year and then time to pay up and
Starting point is 00:06:30 I got $200 and not $12. What? Yeah, my roommate, he and impregnated a girl about halfway through and I said, look, we can call the bet off. It's over and he's like, no, a bet's a bet. We're doing it. All right.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Never got that money. Yeah. And what's funny is what showed up on Facebook yesterday was I'm three months into growing my hair out. Like a memory? Yeah. And then it cuts it
Starting point is 00:07:01 because it was long and it's like let's donate it. Locks of love. Absolutely. And locks of love. That was a plan and then they didn't want it.
Starting point is 00:07:11 They wouldn't take it. That's to make wigs out of it. Yeah, for cancer patients. They thought his hair, I don't know. I don't know what was wrong with it in their mind. I had my ideas, but I don't know why they wouldn't accept his hair
Starting point is 00:07:23 that was long enough. and they said no so we ended up throwing it in the ocean for the oil spill that's good soak up the oil yeah and I heard it soaked up pretty much all the oil was what was cool
Starting point is 00:07:34 just his hair just his hair so shout out to the guy who did 2,000 squats there were two flight stories I wanted to talk about one this is from
Starting point is 00:07:45 a view from the wing don't be continuously flicking your lighter during a flight who does that I thought you couldn't take those on. A recent flight from Kansas City to Phoenix had to be diverted
Starting point is 00:07:58 after a passenger, not only refused to stop activating his lighter, but also refused to turn it over to flight attendants until after the journey was completed. After one final warning from the cockpit, the plane was diverted to a nearby airport, and the passenger was removed and taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
Starting point is 00:08:14 I agree, like, how do you get the lighter on? Some stuff gets through. I have friends that have gotten box cutters through an accident because their job literally in their bags, included box cutters. because they'd go to different factories. And they were like, oh, God, I got box cutters in the plane. So I don't know how it got there.
Starting point is 00:08:32 But that was one. The other one, Mike, if you'll hand it to me. Lighters are okay and carry-ons, but not check baggage. Interesting. Wait, you'd think it would be the opposite? No, I guess not because it could explode down there. Yeah, maybe. But weird you could have a lighter anywhere.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Because I would like, because I always take it like one of those old-school bombs that's used with me when I got on fly. And I don't need anything to light that when I'm up there. You ever see that where it's like things you can't have? And it's that old school Looney Tunes. Dynamite. The circle bomb with the huge fuse in it. It's like we do not allow this.
Starting point is 00:09:07 I'd rather like do some tradesies with that. Like get rid of the lighter. Like that's not allowed. I agree. Give us five ounces or something. Whatever we want. Whoa. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:09:19 We can't take anything. But you can't take many toothpaste. I take them all the time. I know. But the full tube. Why do you need the full tube of traveling? You're not going to use the traveling anyway. Then if you're out of a mini-go.
Starting point is 00:09:28 So you don't have a mini and you're trying to pack. I just say no lighters. I don't even trade off on this one. I'm good not trading on this one. Why do you take toothpaste? You just go to the front desk and say you forgot it. They give you free toothpaste. So great question.
Starting point is 00:09:39 And we do that sometimes. However, I have a travel kit that is always ready to go. You know, they're like... Oh, you have a go bag. Yeah, I'm not really like running. I'm like CIA or anything. But that's what it feels like. I have two go bags and one of them's a bathroom go bag.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Oh. Yeah. The other one's got like four passports and $100,000 of cash and a couple guns. That's the one that I really don't want to have to use. Here's another one. I would have flipped my crap on this one. After traveling an hour in the air, a crew had to make a decision to turn the plane around. Somebody lost their cell phone.
Starting point is 00:10:10 And they were panicking on the plane. They lost their cell phone. Are you out of your mind? I think that person needed to be taped to a chair and have his mouth tape shut up. I was assuming it was a woman, but... Did it say? Nah, but I don't know. I feel like freaking out because you lost the phone. I assumed it was a guy. I don't know that it's even said yet.
Starting point is 00:10:28 Okay. Let me get there. You want to play the bet? Yeah, 2,000 squads. The loser has to do 2,000 squads. The panic of losing a cell phone from the Latin Times is a familiar experience at a tech-dependent world, often prompting the sudden phone list of turnaround and retrace their steps. This flight, Air France flight A.F750 was forced to turn around and return to Paris after a passage
Starting point is 00:10:53 missing mobile phone prompted an emergency response. 375 passengers, 12 crew members departed Paris for a nine-hour journey. After an hour in the air, the crew made the decision to abort the flight as a precautionary measure due to the missing device. The plane landed safely back at Paris Airport two hours and 16 minutes after its initial takeoff
Starting point is 00:11:13 because it went an hour out and turned around and came an hour back. Air France later confirmed that maintenance teams were searching for the phone to facilitate a new departure as soon as possible. It does not say if it was a man or a woman. I would bet man. Okay, that's fine. I guess was it really about the phone or was it because the person was acting crazy? Crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Have to be crazy. Yeah, yeah. Like, if you lost your phone, you said, it's okay, I lost my phone. They wouldn't turn the plane around. They did. No, it's the way they were reacting. Like, I lost my phone. Where's my phone at?
Starting point is 00:11:44 Oh my gosh, I need my phone. Can I read you the headline again? Let's see if you reconsidered that. Okay. Packed Air France flight declares emergency, he returns to airport after passenger can't find phone. It didn't say passenger went crazy. Didn't say it went crazy?
Starting point is 00:12:00 I thought I heard something like the way. I just wonder why that phone was so important. I know why my phone is so important. And you know what? It's not that important. It's important. Yeah. But it's not so important.
Starting point is 00:12:10 And also, if you're turning that flight around and we know why it's being turned around and that person is sitting there and you know they're saying like, oh, God, everybody's looking at me. Oh, God, everybody's looking at me. I'm in the bathroom the whole time. I got. I'd be like, I have my phone. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Right here. Just rub it in. It's not me. We're turning it around because somebody can't find their phone, but they don't identify it. So then you just hold your hand up and act like, you're like scrolling on a piece of wood or something. That's not me. There was another story, too, that I didn't pull, but I just read yesterday where this guy was in the bathroom so long that the pilot had to pull him out of the bathroom. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Did you see that? Like he had to pull him out by his legs? I think he was in there for like 20 minutes. And they were about to land. But this is America. Wasn't it? I think it was. I think it was.
Starting point is 00:12:57 This sounds like America. This sounds like America. Okay, here we go. A constipated man says a United pilot yanked him out of a bathroom for taking too long. A 20-year-old man is suing United Airlines after a pilot opened a bathroom door and yanked him out. If my pants are down on someone's yanking me out, I don't like that. That's what he said.
Starting point is 00:13:13 He exposed everyone. That's vulnerable. What? He'd been there for 30 minutes and told him through the door he was just constipated. He said his pants were still around his ankles when the pilot. when the pilot flung the door open. I kind of feel bad for this guy. How do they unlock the door?
Starting point is 00:13:26 They'd fling the door open, yeah. I don't have a key, right? I don't like that. I would think they have some kind of... I would think it's not even a key needed. It's probably just a push, pull up. It's like Mike Tyson's punch out when you know a code.
Starting point is 00:13:38 In order to skip right to Mike Tyson. There's probably like a little way to do the... And get that door to open. Also, if he's constipated, just like, that means you... Go back and sit down? You can't go. You just go sit down.
Starting point is 00:13:50 To be fair. someone who's lived a life until I avoided dairy, lived a life of constipation. That was going to be the third book I wrote, Constipation Nation. Oh, that'd be a good one. And it was all of us together uniting, holding hands across America and not being able to poop. You never know. When it's going to unconstipate? That's exactly it.
Starting point is 00:14:13 You're not there going, nothing's ever coming out. I'm just sitting here. You're going, please God, at any minute it can happen. and so that's what sucks I feel bad for this guy if the guy was like secretly smoking in there or something I think it would be different But also if the plane's trying to land
Starting point is 00:14:27 You have to sit down I hear you He was seated He was seated He was seated Just not in his seat Completely understand what you're saying But I would say if you're ill
Starting point is 00:14:37 Oh I get that It's hard I know I know If you're ill and you're in that room And it's like we're gonna land It's like well we're gonna land with me on the toilet Because my stomach hurts so bad I can't get up
Starting point is 00:14:46 And what does pulling him out do It's not gonna call him the situation. Makes everybody laugh because he's butt-naked and his pants around his knees. I think he's just looking for a lawsuit. Yes. So does he win? You think? Well, a flight attendant woke his friend up from a nap and said, hey, you need to go check on him. He's been there for 20 minutes. 20 minutes, that's nothing. That's an eyelash. That's an eyelash in time. When you're constipated, 20 minutes is like the first few seconds. The guy yelled through the door. The day, I'm fine. Just constipated. Leave me alone. So then a pilot got involved after he still had come at 10 minutes later.
Starting point is 00:15:19 It's 30 minutes total. Aside from the landing part, just 30 minutes, that's not a lot. If it's the only bathroom, I can understand where that would kind of be an issue and you'd want to kind of work through it. But if someone's sick, they're sick. When I got food poisoning on the way to Hawaii for American Idol, I was in that bathroom for three hours. I was cleaning the bathroom while I was in there because I couldn't stop vomiting. Now, it was a long flight, so there were like two bathrooms up front, two in the back. So a bit different.
Starting point is 00:15:46 But I didn't leave for three hours. That was the cleanest bathroom that thing's ever been. I was so grossed out by having to do it. I was scrubbing it as I was vomiting. He and his friend got handcuffed and escorted off the plane when it landed in Houston. Wait, his friend got handcuffed too? Airport cops put him in holding cells
Starting point is 00:16:00 but eventually released them without filing charges. They're both suing, claiming they were treated unfairly. They claim the pilot, talked to them about being Jewish and made anti-Semitic remarks. Oh. If anybody has out on a phone and that is recorded, they're done.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Yeah. Because if that's why that all happened, I don't know if it is or not. Obviously it wasn't there. a jury will decide if they deserve to be paid or not and if so how much. Maybe they didn't buy the guy some like lactate if it's milk.
Starting point is 00:16:28 A little probiotic. A metamusal. I've been through it all. Metamusal for sure. Been on a few different journeys of metamusal. I love metamusal. So, yeah, there's that one. I give you one more.
Starting point is 00:16:39 We're just starting with some stories. A Michigan man who won 500 bucks playing in the daily three lottery. I played the numbers 666. Oh my. He won. What's wrong with that? I don't have you keep that money.
Starting point is 00:16:54 666. Seems like there's a curse attached to that money. Never play that. What do you mean? What if it was a random quick pick? Right. Would they pick 666? Like the random quick pick?
Starting point is 00:17:04 It's a computer. A Michigan man who went 500 bucks playing 666 in the Daily 3 lottery drawing won money and then wound up winning $2.39 million dollars with the money he won from playing the money he won from playing the money. the 666. Yeah, that's bad. That's cursed money. No, it's not.
Starting point is 00:17:21 No, it's not. It's got to be. He won $2 million. Yeah, and that's bad money. You wouldn't take it? No, well... I guess you would. I would probably take it.
Starting point is 00:17:30 The Shiawasi County man told Michigan lottery officials, his luck began with $500 in a daily three drawing. He bought that and then with that money, he took $100 of the $500 and $2.3 million. The wife says his winnings will go toward paying bills, making investments,
Starting point is 00:17:48 and worshiping Lucifer. Oh. No, I made the Lucifer part out. Oh. But it's just weird because it's 666. Yeah. And if you picked it, that's different. But 666 happened.
Starting point is 00:18:03 That wasn't the big winner. That was just what got him enough money to play the big one. Right. That's how it works. Baby steps. Stepping stone. Hey, the devil walks you somewhere. When you least expect it.
Starting point is 00:18:13 UPI.P.com with that story. Okay. Ray, let's do a mid-roll here. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football,
Starting point is 00:18:30 or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships.
Starting point is 00:19:57 I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, You already know, there's a lot to break down. Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man. At the end of the day, when people are at home, they want entertainment. To hear this and more, listen to Reality with the King on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. On a recent episode of the podcast Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk. Talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here?
Starting point is 00:21:29 We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. Financial education is not always about like, I'm going to get rich. That's great. It's about creating an atmosphere for you to be able to take care of yourself, and leave a strong financial legacy for your family. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Listen to Money and Wealth with John O'Brien from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, everyone. I'm Cheryl Stray, author of Wild and Tiny Beautiful Things. I'm excited to share that I have a new podcast called Mind Over Mountain. I also bring a bit of advice into the mix so we too can better understand how to face our own seemingly insurmountable challenges. Do you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to pull out what you already have inside.
Starting point is 00:22:42 We're coming into this world fighting for our lives. All I'm going to do is pull out what you already got inside. we're there to support and celebrate each other. And that's not like your story versus my story. You're going to walk up and over that dang mountain. You're not just going to put your mind over it. Yep, yep, exactly. And if I can't walk up and over it, I'm going to go through it. Listen to Mind Over Mountain every Thursday on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:23:06 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. She's a rich girl. I was what. My algorithm on TikTok has a lot of Darrell Hall's house. Yeah, that's good stuff. They don't make that anymore, but...

Starting point is 00:24:28 We needed to finish Tuesday Reviews Day. Question, did we ever review, because we left, but did we ever review All the Paradise? Yes. Yeah. In finale? Yep. Okay. I say it again.
Starting point is 00:24:44 Awesome. I don't know if I gave it. five because I don't give the reason I didn't give it a five probably because of a week to week to week. I believe you said 4.5. Yeah. And the only reason I think it wasn't a five is because it was a week to week show. I'm in the middle of it. And what's really cool is that my wife is on board and we have a show. We haven't had a show in so long. It's excellent. Excellent. Um, okay, Tuesday Reviews Day who did not get to go? Um, more, uh, who? Who? You win. I thought you went. I was like 10 hours ago. I watched two other things. Did I do the, did I do the recruit?
Starting point is 00:25:16 Okay. Wait, on Netflix? Yeah. Yeah, you did that a while ago. No, I did not the recruit. I did the night shift. Night agent. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:26 Which is so bad, it was good. It was so corny that it made it good. Like the night agent, it was interesting, but it was just written so corny. The recruit is that Noah Singard? Centano. Whatever's name is. Good looking kid. I never knew what he was from except for like being.
Starting point is 00:25:48 in TMZ photos and like little videos Walked across the street with other famous people But he plays a lawyer in the CIA And he's like 24, he's young It starts off a bit like Night Agent With the first couple episodes are pretty corny And you're like, oh gosh But it ends up being good
Starting point is 00:26:05 Season one I would give Three and a half out of five But it started at two out of five Like it gained three In season two, which we watch both seasons I would give it a four out of five it's the recruit on Netflix and it's good he's a lawyer for the CIA
Starting point is 00:26:21 but all of a sudden he gets called in to do some stupid stuff because lawyers have to go and make sure that the the real CIA people aren't like screwing up and committing like international maybe else watched it? Yes I watched both of them but I guess I jump in and like Well because I was trying to figure out what season I was on
Starting point is 00:26:35 I didn't know there was two yeah there's full Okay so I've only seen season one Season two is better Ooh because it's not as it does Season two is never corny Season one starts off kind of corny Yeah, so I go with three and a half and then four. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:50 But I think it's worth the three and a half. But I go to the recruit. Have you reviewed that? No, I don't think I ever reviewed those. I'm kind of shocked you liked him, though, because I was worried with Night Agent, you'd think it was corny. The first part of it was, Night Agent was so corny.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Yeah. I don't know. I did like the recruit better. I do like Noah. He's big on Netflix. Like he's been in the movie two, all the boys I've loved before. There's like a three-part movie series.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Yeah. And that's really good. So that's why I watched him. Yeah, good looking dude. Take a shirt off. Be like, okay, respect. Like, that's pretty cool. Oh, my, shit.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Yeah. And he wears, like, dog tagged with abs, and that's, like, the best way. Oh, dog tag with abs? Yeah. If I had abs, I wore dog tags. Like, dog tags with abs, that's, like, the perfect combination. But don't you need to be in the military with dog tags? They could be inherited.
Starting point is 00:27:36 His dad was military. That's exactly what it was. His dad, yeah. Yeah, so shut up, Eddie. But, no, why would you wear him? He had family somewhere. Oh, because I have dogs. I literally wear the dog.
Starting point is 00:27:45 the dogs that said like where to call if they were lost. Rabies shot. Yes, dog tags with abs. Yes, that was my rating. You do your thing. Yeah, I would say season one was three out of five and season two I'm probably on board. I'm more four out of five as well. It's good, huh?
Starting point is 00:28:02 Yeah, it was really good. I heard though that it got canceled. I don't think it's coming back. No. Are you kidding? I don't know that for sure, but I had seen some rumblings of that. You saw rumblings? I hate seeing rumblings.
Starting point is 00:28:14 I know. Yeah. I just Googled it. I don't want to spoil it, but it says Netflix reportedly canceled. Oh, spoiler, Amy. All right, punishment. The recruit. Because they were dissatisfied with season two's
Starting point is 00:28:27 viewership. I just got started. I just watched watch it. Now the mine's counted. I mean, I was about to watch it. March 5th. You just don't watch it. You just don't watch it. Everything should only be two seasons now. I'm convinced. Like, no. Everything should only be two seasons, possibly a third if it's excellent, or it kills the quality of the show.
Starting point is 00:28:46 We don't care in American culture about how great a full body of a show is. We just want to extend it. We want to put preservatives in our shows. And Amy from you, I would expect more. Thanks. Yeah. But remember Breaking Bad, though,
Starting point is 00:28:58 like the later seasons were really good as like a whole other show. Really good. Just so everybody knows, preservative things was a joke toward Amy. It was just a joke. It was like preservatives. She's anti-preservatives.
Starting point is 00:29:08 I mean, I still eat things with preservatives. Me too. I love them. They taste great. Try not to. They're good. They're good. They're good.
Starting point is 00:29:13 needs food. I'm just like, can I get a bag of preservatives? But you are going to write. Some of the shows like, modern family, I've loved that show. But then the kids got older and I was like, what am I watching? It was so dumb. Completely understand why, because they're making a lot of money and what businesses are supposed to do is make money. We're in a capitalist society. But it does weaken the overall product of the show. The office went through a little bit of that. It caught up again at the ended very strong, but it went too many seasons. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:29:48 I just did that. Somebody died. I feel like we're in a hospital. Did you get an amy alert? It's not an amber alert. Was that an ear? When Amy's having like a stroke, if the Amy alert goes off?
Starting point is 00:29:57 Yeah. Did you see my life log thing? What are you talking about? No, we heard something. I know, but did you see my life log thing? Because you haven't brought it up yet. I know. I will.
Starting point is 00:30:06 Okay. Yeah. I'll wait. Can I show you something? I'll wait. Can I please? Well, this one I was freaking out over. Can I please just show you something?
Starting point is 00:30:12 Yeah. I have two pages of. the notes I haven't even gotten to. Okay, I'm going to shut up. And it's one of them. That if we don't do it today, I have a spot for it. Is she deflecting from the sound that came from?
Starting point is 00:30:23 No, the sound made me think of life saving and life luck. Was that on your phone or computer? My phone. Oh. Jillian Jacqueline's car. Amy's been questioning me a lot, really. And you know what? No, no, I like it.
Starting point is 00:30:35 No, I wasn't questioning you. That one day she was like, are you sure we're done? I can't shake that. No, no, don't shake this. Well, it's funny about that as you and Mike had kind of gone to the check. list and like I think we're covered here and she goes, are you sure? No, that's not how I said it. No, no, no. It's kind of odd. It's kind of odd. It's not.
Starting point is 00:30:51 This is, what is it when a story takes on a new? Oh, the telephone game? Yeah, this is telephone. Amy, I literally have written here. Okay, but listen, I said, oh, are you sure we're done? And Eddie just goes, she goes, are you sure? Are you sure about that? It was just a weird thing because Mike and I are so meticulous about every. I know, and I'm meticulous about the papers right here on my desk, and I still had something
Starting point is 00:31:13 and I go, are you sure? Because it was the, no, my. I have. Eddie, you changed that. But you, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Did you not say, are you sure? I said, I said, oh, are you sure? I like one. I like, and you go, are you sure? And I said, are you sure?
Starting point is 00:31:32 I have your thing literally here with a star by it. It means it's a really good segment to talk about. So. Congrats, you got starred. Not ever. Well, I'm just,
Starting point is 00:31:43 trying to make her feel better. On my, I don't start. No, hold on. On my papers, I do dots if they're middle. I do stars if they're good. What do you do if they're bad? I just black them out.
Starting point is 00:31:53 They're not on the list. No, no, sometimes. Sometimes bad makes the list. Well, yeah, I've rejected segments. Sometimes it's a segment I come up with and I'm like, you know what? It's too early in the morning. This is not going to play as well as I thought it would. So, no, I have a system.
Starting point is 00:32:06 And then Mike knows my system. Mike's like the guy who can read my handwriting that I can't understand. Thank God. I'm like, I have no idea what I mean. Can you help me? And then he'll send it all back, all like organized. I have your, I promise I have your segment. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Oh, you don't have to promise. I'm not worried about it. You just, like, threw it at me. You just called me out for not doing this segment that you sent. No, I didn't call you out. Did I? Did she call me out? Yeah, you did.
Starting point is 00:32:31 I didn't call you out. I mean, maybe you're not hearing things the way they really are. No. No. The challenge felt like, hey, why? No. Did you get the segment I said? Why have we not done it yet?
Starting point is 00:32:42 because it was so good. No, it wasn't. Actually, what do you think? You might think it's not good. No, no, I think I ever think you think something's so good. I start it. What Mike?
Starting point is 00:32:53 I think one she was deflecting from her phone going off. She didn't want to, she was on her phone and was like, oh crap, I don't want anybody to know that I was on my phone pulling you up. No, Lunchbox said that sounded like life support, and then that made me think of life lock. Okay. But we're not going to talk about it. I was a quick pivot maneuver. I promise you we're going to get to your bit that's got a star beside it.
Starting point is 00:33:11 But it was a good strategy. But it was a good strategy. she defined out if her prep did make it. And you know what? It is good. She successfully deflected too, so we got to give her that. Tell me more about the star system. Do any of mine have stars on them?
Starting point is 00:33:21 Let me look. Hold on. No. Wait, wait, wait, wait. If they just exist on paper, that means still a running shot for it to happen. Don't look in. Hold on. You don't even have me on the paper, dude. Going down on the paper.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Right now you have none. You have none on the paper. Dang, okay. Good to know. Good to know. So no stars, no, but you have nothing that even exists right now as something that... I'll mark off stuff at the end of every show. Lunchbox has...
Starting point is 00:33:53 Lunchbox has a dot. Boom. That's medium. Oh. No, that's good, though. We'll do it. Do you ever have it as a dot and then after it's done, you're like... Star-upgraded?
Starting point is 00:34:04 Well, you probably won't go back to you because you're going to cross it off if it's done. But you might be like, hmm, I dotted that, but that was a star. Absolutely. I am wrong. Every time I talk. I'm wrong 20% of the time One way or the other Sometimes I have stars
Starting point is 00:34:16 And I'm like that was bad And mostly if I feel like a star End up being a bad bit It's my fault because I did not take it To the place that it probably should have been taken Because there was so much potential for it And so a lot of times You guys will have an idea for a great segment
Starting point is 00:34:28 And I ruin it because I didn't go to the place That probably would have put it in the best place So if that happens I always feel like that blame is on me Even if it's not It's on me because I'm the... I'm driving the boat You're the captain
Starting point is 00:34:41 Yeah, so even if it's not my fault, it's my fault. So, I like that. Thank you. It takes the pressure off of us. Not really, because sometimes, yeah, you don't have a single thing. Hey, that's on you, dude. No, no, it's not. That's on the captain.
Starting point is 00:34:53 I like, okay. No, it's not the captain that you're not even on the sheet. Did you see Eddie's life lock thing, though? Yeah, no, my phone didn't go off. Don't worry. Oh, yeah, Pippett. Okay, Tuesday, Tuesday. Are we still doing that?
Starting point is 00:35:06 We are, because not everybody got to go. I did all mine. Mike did his, he did the movie. Um, Amy did hers. I did. Recruit. You did, do you do? The covenant.
Starting point is 00:35:17 I know, but are you doing the recruit? Did you watch the first season? Yeah. I mean, a while ago. I know, but did you ever review it? Probably not. So I give it a, I'm now going to watch. Watch season two.
Starting point is 00:35:29 It's worth it. Season two, because Bobby says it's worth it. And then I'm going to pretend that that's all that exists. Yeah. But because they're limited series. I love a limited series. Netflix just put out adolescence, limited series. We almost started a,
Starting point is 00:35:41 last night but my wife was like it's too dark kid murdering somebody same thing my wife said I wanted to start it she was like I'm not in the headspace for that oh wait adolescence that's what my parents were telling me to watch I said not can't do it you got you think about it with your kids it's crazy why is you looking for that I don't know I think maybe we thought you saw it or something no but it just hit me I'm like that's the one my parents said I know it was a lot of commotion to just say the same thing like you think that your kid might be in that situation? Well, I don't want to say too much. I haven't watched it. My only point
Starting point is 00:36:14 was, I can't even review it. We were about to start it last night and my only point was my, we watch a lot of CIA stuff but my wife's like, I'm not in the headspace about a kid who's murdered, but what would they shot that thing in like one shot each episode, right? Or something like that? Like the entire episode was like
Starting point is 00:36:30 one shot for an hour. I could be wrong about that, but I read a story about that-that-ish, but it's supposed to be good. We watched a show called, I think, a thousand cuts, 100 cuts on Hulu It's been a couple weeks Doesn't sound familiar Oh hold on
Starting point is 00:36:49 Each episode of adolescence was filmed in one shot That's crazy Oh let me get to my point They're doing so many more These limited series Meaning you watch the one or two seasons And it's over on purpose A thousand blows?
Starting point is 00:36:59 Yeah Yeah But adolescents My parents would you call it 100 cuts Something like that Yeah that's the same actor What's that about? Yeah that's why it popped up in my head
Starting point is 00:37:09 A thousand blows. It's British. It's about... Actually, whatever. Yeah, a thousand blows. Take it away. Because there's also, I guess, a movie called A Hundred Cuts. No, it's a thousand blows.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Okay. Or Eddie's an anime of college. It's about a guy who... Oh, I get it. That's good. He comes over... He comes over... I can work either way, though.
Starting point is 00:37:35 We know the way the joke's supposed to work. He comes from Jamaica to London And he is like Boxing But boxing isn't a real thing yet It's a bare knuckle And it's just And you're just watching it
Starting point is 00:37:52 I give it three out of five It had real potential That synopsis sounds good It got 90% rotten tomatoes But I think it's all people that have a A palette for like Tastier shows Like higher brow shows
Starting point is 00:38:05 We liked it We watched it It's gonna have another season So it's like a dot? Yeah, it's a dot. It's a dot. Anybody else want to review something? Yeah, I have two.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Go ahead. So I watched Running Point on Netflix with Kate Hudson. It's a new kind of sitcom-y type show. She is the, like in this really rich family who owns a professional basketball team. Oh, is that based on a true story? Oh, my wife loves that. She goes, your friend's on this show. And I was like, what?
Starting point is 00:38:36 She goes, your friend acts on this show. Who's your friend? And I said, who's my friend? And she goes, it's Rich Eisen. Oh, he's in there? Yeah, he's on the show. I'm going to be in L.A. filling in for him next week, by the way, too, doing this show and that show.
Starting point is 00:38:47 But go ahead. Yeah, I've really liked it. I've been on a sitcom kick, and this one just kind of hit the mark. It had all the things. And Kate Hudson as the lead was really cool. So I'm going to give it four out of five basketballs. Yeah, my wife really liked it, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:01 It was just a fun watch, easy watch. Is it loosely based on Ginny Bus? I think so. Is she now the owner of something? Yeah, her dad bought the Lakers. Yes, it is. Yeah, so it is a Mindy Kaling. I think she might have been one of the producers on it.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Yeah. Yeah, wife loved it. That was great. What's that on? It's on Netflix. The Netflix series, Ronnie Point, is loosely based on the Los Angeles Lakers in the life of Jenny Bus,
Starting point is 00:39:29 with the fictional Los Angeles Waves franchise serving as a stand-in for the Lakers. So, yeah. Yeah, my sister was telling me about this, and I guess, like, even some of the players are, like, loosely based on players. Oh yeah? Tragi
Starting point is 00:39:43 Johnson. Sounds familiar. Kareem Abdulhabar. Yeah, I don't know. Okay. Yeah, and then I also watch the electric state on Netflix, which is with Chris Pratt and Billy Bobbie Brown.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Millie Bobby Brown. Movie, though, right? Yes, it's a movie. It's about all these robots taking over the world, and I really wanted to like it because it was sci-fi. It was right at my alley. Two point five out of five. scary robots when you started describing my pants started getting tight then you're like I know
Starting point is 00:40:14 I was really excited to watch it too because it was it gave the description of all really good things big actors what that's weird what is robots and stuff I love robots and stuff I love robots talking about your pants getting excited yeah it turns me on it's like end of the world apocalypse and start to get turned on it's my favorite kind of movie
Starting point is 00:40:28 kind of weird dude yeah what is not weird about anything I say ever like that's what excites me that one specifically kind of weird Yeah, that one was... If you were like, you're like, guy gets in a tie machine, pants getting tight. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:43 Guy falls in love as a robot. Pants getting tight. That's funny. Let's see. Okay. No, I've done season one through four of always the sunny in Philadelphia. That show is fantastic. One of the greatest shows of our life.
Starting point is 00:41:00 It is so fun and the characters are excellent. How many seasons are there about that? I don't know. It is the LeBron D. James of television. And I'm going to tell you why for two reasons. One, because it is just great. Two, it has lasted for so long. LeBron James is 40 years old and is still freaking playing ball. He'll probably be first team all NBA. And so he is the LeBron. This show to me is the LeBron James of television shows. Yeah, it's so good. It is not for everybody. No, I don't
Starting point is 00:41:34 think so. And my wife likes it. She doesn't watch it all the time. But if I'm watching it, she'll sit down and watch an episode and it's like, that's funny. She enjoys it. So I give it four out of five beer bottles. It is so fun. And it gets funnier. And then they just go different way. Mike, you're a sunny guy.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Yeah. And it just goes in completely different directions for completely different seasons and they're just as funny. Wait until Nightman. Are you Nightman yet? I don't know if I've... Then you're not Nightman yet. Where's Nightman? I forget.
Starting point is 00:42:06 keep up. I got to Google when you say it. No, it's always saying Philadelphia. It's a different show. No. You're talking about night watch. No, there, oh, okay, sorry. Nightman's a character in the show, got it. I love the season where he intentionally gains weight. He gained, because he was like, whenever you watch shows, people just keep getting better looking as they get more rich and more successful. Like, I want to do the opposite. He gained a bunch of weight. He gained a bunch of weight. Really fat. No. One of the main guys, then he gained all this weight, and then he lost it all.
Starting point is 00:42:36 to be funny. Yeah. Dude, The Nightman Come With? If you, it's one of the funniest shows in the history of television. So enjoyable.
Starting point is 00:42:49 But it's not for everybody. Okay. Anything else? No, that's it. That's what I've been watching. Did I see. Righteous gemstone? It's coming back.
Starting point is 00:42:57 It's already been back. We've already watched two episodes. Oh. I don't see. I have a friend on the show. He was one of the main actors who became a friend in the last couple years. Eisen?
Starting point is 00:43:06 Tim. What? No, not Rich Eisen. Tim, he's the... He plays the husband. Oh, the husband of the girl, oh, the sister. Uh-huh. That's right.
Starting point is 00:43:13 That's right. It's such a good show. It's so funny. Baby Billy. It's not for everybody. But yes. Yes. It is not for everybody.
Starting point is 00:43:23 It is not. That's for sure. And all, yeah, yeah. Misbehaving. What? Well, I know we talked about White Lotus, but I was just going to circle back. He's in it. Baby Billy's in it.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Baby Billy has such range. Yeah, baby Billy's in that. Don't spoil that, though, because... I'm not. I didn't spoil. Baby Billy isn't. Not you. I'm talking to Amy. I'm not, but that baby billies will make me think of it. Again, because I didn't bring this up earlier, but I just have to know. I don't want to, don't even ask a question. I'm not going to answer your question.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Because I don't want to hear about what might happen. I'm not going to, no, I just need to know if y'all watched the latest. No. Oh, my wife did, but she's, even to me, she goes, I'm not going to say anything about it. Okay. Don't say anything. Yeah. Yeah, but there was worse, though, than that. Guys. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:07 Enough. Stop talking about it. Enough. Eddie, shut up. Mike, have you seen it? Yeah. Enough. Lunchbox, are you watching it?
Starting point is 00:44:16 Not yet. I haven't started. Enough. Enough. Okay. I will sing misbehaving all day long. Been caught shaving. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:25 Mama told me not to. I did it anyway. Misbehaven. Daddy said don't, but I'm going to missbehaven. What's the shaven line? The then caught shaving. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:37 I got to find it all quick. Let's see. It's so funny. And it's funny whenever the... Whatever, righteous Jimpsons is awesome. I love it. Okay. You want to do selfish segment?
Starting point is 00:44:53 I got murderbillia. Oh, yeah. Someone hear about that. Who? Murder bill. We talked about on the show. My murder bill. Oh, murder bill you.
Starting point is 00:44:59 I think he said murder billy. I was like, who? Let me read my notes real quick that I made for the second show. Inflamed a hangy-bangy. Oh, no. As soon as the guy here this morning, lunchbox, they were like, I don't flame to hangy-bang. You can hear it, though.
Starting point is 00:45:12 I still hear them. The inflammation in the hangy-bang-y. I have a bit of an allergy issue as well. I slept terrible last night because of the hangy-bangy. Me too. His hangy-bang is that thing in the throat, everybody. So do you have a disease? No, it's just allergies.
Starting point is 00:45:27 It happens a couple times a year where you wake up, and the hangy-bang is just on fire. Like, you can't swallow. It hurts. So I was waking up in the whole night getting drinks of water. That's never turned into like strep or anything? Nope. The history of hangy-banggy?
Starting point is 00:45:42 No, never. And it just eventually goes away, but that hangy-banging, when it hurts. I couldn't, like, oh, I looked up how to get rid of it and they said, take Advil, I couldn't even swallow the Advil the hangy-bang. What are you in Google? Because what do you think that's called? I just put in hanging-banging in your throat. And it knows?
Starting point is 00:45:57 Yeah. What do you think it's called? Pickle, pick a guess. I don't know. Did your parents call it hangy-bang? Just pick-oh. I just know it hangs down there, and so it's a hangy-bangy. But what bangs?
Starting point is 00:46:09 Your tongue bangs it, doesn't it? No, not really. I really try. Why isn't it just called the hangy? I don't know. Well, yeah, what's it banging? I don't know. Your food is it goes down.
Starting point is 00:46:19 I don't know, dude. It's just called a hangy banging bing. Rhymes. It's a good rhyme. It does rhymes. Because, like, have you ever seen him take medicine before? It's pretty funny. Him?
Starting point is 00:46:27 Yeah. He takes a pill and then does the sign of the cross. And I'm like, what is that? Is that a Catholic thing? He's out how my mom taught me it. She's like, if you have trouble swallowing pills, do the sign the cross and it will help you get it down. So I've done it my whole life.
Starting point is 00:46:41 So it is not for any faith-based reason. Oh, yeah, I'm Catholic, too. No, not too. I thought it's like if you die, like Father, Son, Holy Ghosts, like if you don't make it. Oh, I thought it's like you're praying to God the medicine that was made by probably what it is. No, it's really helping to get it down, man. It's like, hey, name Father, Son, Holy Spirit, help me swallow this sucker. No, no, I understand why.
Starting point is 00:47:01 It's like you're taking communion. Yeah, but it's a pill. Like, I do it before I put the pill in my mouth. Why? Because I struggle with swallowing pills, man. hear you man but i'm saying no you know why it's because his mom did it he doesn't question anything his parents did he just does it but why do you why it was a little trick as a kid no no i know i know i just want to know what you think that does because i would think if i were doing that i would
Starting point is 00:47:24 think i'm doing it because i'm asking god at before i take this medicine that hopefully uh nurtures or or heals my body uh from uh his healing powers to be that, right? Maceutical. That. But that's what I would think. And I wonder if that's what you think is all I'm asking. No, it's literally, help me get this pill down my throat.
Starting point is 00:47:48 So is it a prayer? Yeah, basically. Yeah. Yeah, it's basically a... So you're basically saying a prayer every time to swallow a pill. Yes. No, I'm not making fun of you. I'm just asking...
Starting point is 00:47:58 100%. Okay. Because I can't... Swallowing pills for whatever reason is very difficult. Understandable. And I have it. And I do this and I... Oh, that's what it's banging pills.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Yeah. I had no way I was making fun of you. Yeah. I was just asking why you thought. Yeah, if you're making fun of prayer, that's on you, man. Yeah, I grew up Catholic. My parents would do the same thing. See?
Starting point is 00:48:21 Okay, but... I didn't know anybody else did it. Why? Why would they do it? Kind of a protection thing? So, not only taking pills, but my dad's a truck driver, so before every load, he would do that before he took off. Okay, so I understand that. And I understand people that do it before events, or even a bad or going up.
Starting point is 00:48:38 It's like, hey. Soccer players do it when they go on the field. Yeah, it's like, yeah, dear God, please protect me through the next ABCD. Or please be with, please be with me. Help me make the best decision based on how you would lead me. All of that. I just wondered why he did it before the pill.
Starting point is 00:48:56 I wondered the same thing too. Yeah. I never noticed him to do it, though. That's pretty funny. Is it bang your bangy? I don't know, man. Like, I mean, this morning when I was trying to get that Advil down, it was like, because I remember I asked him and I was like, why do you do this?
Starting point is 00:49:08 like, I don't know, my mom always did it. Got it. She told me the trick, because I would always... Did you do it for medicine? I didn't know. My parents did. For medicine? Was it for, like, the Holy Spirit to protect, to heal with the medicine?
Starting point is 00:49:21 Same thing, I kind of took it the same thing I did before we got communion. That's what we would do. So, I wore lipstick. I got caught shaving. You do that part. Then I go, then we go, just two little country kids outside misbehaving. I had to find the line. So I'll do...
Starting point is 00:49:38 We'll never get it. Because I don't even know. How does it go? What do you mean? What's the melody of that? Mama told me not too. I did it anyway. Misbehavein.
Starting point is 00:49:48 Daddy said don't, but I'm going to anyway. Misbehavein. Piling a window cell swimming in the creek. Catching crawled dads and playing with a stick. I wore a lipstick. I got caught shaving. Just two little country kids outside misbehaving. Baby Billy has arranged like a mother.
Starting point is 00:50:06 He does, dude. Wait, you were talking about vocal range? All, it's acting range. Yes. It's pretty amazing. And I didn't even real, until I started, he's irkled that show a little bit, meaning his character was always going to be significant, but he's so good at it. He is now one of, if not, the most looked at character on that show.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Because that is, it's Danny McBride show. Yes. Originally, John Goodman, a big character. character. Jennifer Nettles plays the Dead Wife. But Danny McBride, he's the dude. He's the dude. But Baby Billy, I think when the show is all ended, I think Baby Billy's the guy. He's awesome. What about the brother though? I mean, he's hilarious. They're all good. Yes. What's his name? A little one? Yeah, he's hilarious. He is so funny. I feel like they've intentionally kept him around because they could have done something else with his character,
Starting point is 00:50:58 but I felt like he was such a big presence that they've worked him back into the show. Baby Billy? Yeah. Like Urkel? He wasn't supposed to be on for more than a couple episodes. Yeah, because like Jennifer Nettles, she was. The Dead Wall. She's died. She's dead. But is she his sister, his sister? She's... Baby Billy's sister. But John Goodman's dead wife.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Got it. Oh yeah, because he's Uncle Baby Billy. He's uncle baby Billy. He's doing Bible bonkers, which is the exact freaking rip-off. So wait, Jennifer Nettles is the mom then? No. Yes. She's not John Goodman's wife.
Starting point is 00:51:27 Oh, she is? She's John Goodman's wife. She's dead. The kids are all John Goodman's and Jennifer Nettles. Yeah. Danny McBride, workaholics. And you and, uh, Workaholics, another great show if you guys
Starting point is 00:51:40 never watched it. Another great, you used to look at like the origin story of those guys. They're just on the internet. That's Adam. Divine. Adam Devine. They're just internet dudes. I say just.
Starting point is 00:51:52 Like, that's what they did. They made little skits on the internet. She made a pilot and then Comedy Central like once later. Like, hey, we want to make this to a show. It's always sunny in Philadelphia. Same thing. Spent like 200, 300 bucks. Did it.
Starting point is 00:52:02 Stop. Workaholics was just an internet show and they said, we want you? that's awesome that's a great show so funny okay I want to give you guys a half update you know how
Starting point is 00:52:14 and then I want to do selfish segment and then I want to do murder bill you then I want to be done by the way I want everybody to know this is my favorite part of doing this show now
Starting point is 00:52:23 we do two versions we have to do two versions this is not a post show I said it before and it's not a pre show it's not a post show it's a different part of the show because we are monitored
Starting point is 00:52:31 I can use the word monitored in ways that don't allow us freedom not in like can't do things, but time restraints and broadcast. We have it. It'd be like streaming versus ABC. ABC's got a, they got a 13-minute segment and they got to run a commercial. They got 53 minutes. They got to get a. The radio show, it's a monster, it's massive, it's awesome.
Starting point is 00:52:54 It has to be a little more surface because there's more passive listening there. People that are just flipping through. If you're listening to this, you're with us. Like, you're part of the team. And we can also talk about things and go off. on tangents and do Amy's Amy Alert and all these things that we used to do on the show way back in the day when we had no rules because nobody cared because the show made no money. Like all that stuff we get to do here now, this is my favorite part of the show. Now, this part doesn't make as much money as the other part of the show. And we really have to take care of that.
Starting point is 00:53:25 But that's why we do it in two whole parts now. We do the entire radio show is in part one that is on the air radio. This entire thing is part two. And it is not pre-show. It is not post-show. I have different things that we talk about on this show, specifically. Specifically, that it's not that we didn't get to it on the first show. I never wanted to talk about it on the first show.
Starting point is 00:53:44 So I just want to say that. That being said, I want to do this. But I had another point, too. I forgot. All right. You had a half. Oh, a half. Oh, half, have a half.
Starting point is 00:53:56 Thank you. Half update. I remember I told you guys I came up with an idea for a television show that I thought was so good. And it's the only one I've ever really had that I was like, this is, this is good. I didn't want to share it because I thought it was so good. Do you guys remember that at all? Yeah. I won't that long ago.
Starting point is 00:54:11 Like two weeks ago. Sometimes I do that, or I feel certain ways, and I'm like, oh, man, I'm going to try it, but I don't know. It's a crazy idea. It's a crazy idea. I didn't want to bother her because she is a massive television executive in the Disney Plus in the Nat Geo space. And she's the one that hired me to do, well, put me on Bear Girls originally, when everybody else was like, we don't know who this guy is. and she was like, put them on. And the episode was our highest rate at the season.
Starting point is 00:54:46 So her name's Courtney Monroe. She's awesome. She was the one that put me on for a second time. Then she was like, let's do Breaking Bobby Bones. And couldn't do that show anymore because I couldn't travel internationally and stay gone for a while because Nat Geo turned into more of an international network. It was a lot more domestic.
Starting point is 00:55:11 now it's a lot more international. And I just can't be moving country to country while doing this show because the show is the most important thing. Now, when I went down and we did Snake in the Grass, we stayed in one country and set up a studio. And that was easier to do. But even then that sucked. But I texted Courtney and I was like, hey, I have this idea. It's not even a TV show. I said, it's just a content idea.
Starting point is 00:55:33 And you're going to think, I'm out of my mind. And she responds back, yeah, you're out of your mind. But I want you to talk to somebody about it. So she hooked me up with somebody else. And I had a meeting with this person. The person has won multiple Emmys. And the person was like, let's meet on Zoom and talk about it. I'm like, cool.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Again, it's just going to be a content idea where, like, too much access that we would do. But crazy. Like, no way this should ever work. Can't say much more than that right now. And so they meet, I meet with them. And it was her. And she is one of the partners in a massive production company. She's like, hey, look, I know you're not trying to do this as a show.
Starting point is 00:56:19 You're just doing this content, but I think there's something here. She's like, it's risky, but I think there's something here. And I'm like, all right, cool. And neither one of us wanted to step on each other's toes for me to be like, well, then let's do it together or her to be like, why don't you let us be the production team involved with this and let's make it a show. We were both kind of doing the dance.
Starting point is 00:56:38 Like, I don't know, I don't know. I have a meeting with them Monday when I'm in L.A. after I finish, I do this show, then I'm doing Rich Eisen, and then I'm driving across town to go meet with this production company about this show. And it may not work out. It's by far the craziest idea I've ever had, but it's still alive. That's good. And it's freaking cool.
Starting point is 00:57:01 And what's going to be stupid is if it ever, if it works out, I'm going to be, it's going to be so stupid. It's going to be awesome, but I'm going to be like, why did I do this myself? Does anybody, have I told you? Mm-mm. That's a theme though. What? You create a show and you're like, whoa, why did I do this? I know.
Starting point is 00:57:17 Breaking by bones is like that. I was like, why am I being lit on fire? Why am I trying to break myself? What am I jumping off a house right now? Yeah, I remember I'd be hurting in Caitlin. I'd be like, do I mean jump off house as a stuntman seven times in a row? She was like, they didn't. You invented the show.
Starting point is 00:57:32 Yeah, yeah, that's right. That's a good point. That's a good point. So that, I just, by that all I want to say, my point of that is, it doesn't matter how ridiculous your little dream is. Uh, go, go with it. Go with it. Go with it. Until someone says no. And if you still think it's a good idea, keep going with it. Keep going with it. Until someone says no. If you still think it's, look at freaking severant. Look at there are so many shows that got turned down so many times by so many people, not even just shows. It doesn't have to be a job. It can be a song. It can, it has been in creative. Me. What? Why? You were told no. Why'd you yell me? Yeah. Well, originally, I didn't. didn't really work out in the mix of the show.
Starting point is 00:58:14 Remember when... You did. You worked out. Well, but... I knew it. There was like an eight months. You knew, but I didn't know. And then there was like an eight month and then you called me back. And then I was like, yeah, I'm kind of busy. I was like, superstar. But I did know, but I had to... You had to... The timing wasn't right? Timing?
Starting point is 00:58:30 Yeah, but I didn't know the time. I know. So... So I saw you, I was like, superstar. Oh. All I thought was like, oh, I guess I'm just not cut out for this. Yeah. I think that now. But then I was like, Superstar. Okay. I have three notes.
Starting point is 00:58:47 I don't even know what turned on means. Oh, no, not the pants. Well, unless you guys talk about time travel, I'm good. Time travel, zombie, apocalypse. My wife would go, hey, do you want to watch this show? Because she's great at picking shows. And I'm like, what's it about? And she'll go, it's like 18th century.
Starting point is 00:59:03 I'm like, gosh, she goes, but there's zombies and there aren't. But she knows that's the only way I'll listen. Okay. We recorded, my wife and I recorded a full hour-long episode last night from the house, it'll come out Thursday on the Bobbycast. What sparked that? She lost a bet and owes me five episodes, and so she wants to get them over with. Hilarious.
Starting point is 00:59:24 And so we did a full hour. And I didn't tell you guys this, but I got detained by French authorities when we were in France. And I have a version of the story. She has a version of the story, and they are not the same. Oh. And it's going to be on the podcast? Yeah, well, I didn't expect her to be there to counter my story. And I was telling her, because I got grabbed at the airport. And her version of what she saw and what I lived are very much, very different.
Starting point is 00:59:47 So that'll be out Thursday. Okay, selfish segment and murder bill, yeah, and then we're done. All right, here we go. Lunchbox, selfish segment, anything you want to talk about? Give it a rip, Chip. Take a minute, think about it. Yeah, I'm stretching out, man. Do you want me to do murder bill yet before you give a time?
Starting point is 01:00:09 Think about it? You had nothing knowing that we were going to spin at some point? I threw it on him late. I threw it on them late. No, no, you had the wheel from the beginning of this. But I thought it was a wheel of punishment, man. I'm not fighting with him Okay
Starting point is 01:00:20 So earlier in the show We talked about In the news Murderabilia Turned on Oh he might figure out the turned on thing He rubbed my thigh That's what I like to be
Starting point is 01:00:34 I like where somebody Come to rub my thigh during the show That's what you guys do Okay this was the story Okay I'll do turned on murder bill yeah Then we'll do that Thank you me See the dude he reads me
Starting point is 01:00:45 Half of Americans are turned on By their partner doing chores Oh yeah I've told you all that But turned on? Are you just like appreciative? I probably use the word. You'll reciprocate. I probably say they think it's hot when you.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Nearly a third, 29% of Americans admit they judge the cleanliness of people's rooms and they see it on dating app. But then it goes into half Americans are turned on by their partner doing chores. I'm going to say turned on is a weird word for it. I'm going to say, first of all, men are not turned on by women doing chores unless they're doing it in a thong. Correct. However, women, if they, if they, are turned on finger quotes.
Starting point is 01:01:23 I think what they are is appreciative, and you guys exhibit that in a different way. You're like, oh, you're... You can reward us. Vacuuming, that's hot. You're vacuuming, and I appreciate that, so I'm going to do something you appreciate back. Is what I would... Is how I would describe that.
Starting point is 01:01:40 Because I don't think you're going to see me sweeping and be like, I've got to get some of that. Move your shirtless, maybe? God, it'd be worse. Dude, I wear three shirts at home. Just so I don't lose it. Murderbillia. We talked about how earlier that there is a community of people that have memorabilia from murderers.
Starting point is 01:02:05 It could be letters, it could be things from their life, it could be suits from serial killer. And I'm not in the, I love memorabilia, not in the murderability game. However, I do have a couple murderbillia things that I never considered murderbillia until now. Can you guess what they are? and I think you probably can but I never considered a murder bill. Don't you have something like signed by
Starting point is 01:02:31 JFK or? He was murdered He didn't murder. It has to be the murderer. Yeah, it's like dark because it's the murderer. It's not who got murdered. Yes, correct. Okay, then you have an O.J. Simpson card.
Starting point is 01:02:45 That's exactly. I've signed O.J. Simpson stuff. Yeah. I have like a signed O.J. Simpson rookie. He didn't kill anybody. Hmm? He didn't kill anybody. Lost civil trial. I mean, I still...
Starting point is 01:03:00 Fair enough. I even understand your point. But that's my thing where I thought about it. Like, I have signed O.J. Simpson, like, an O.J. Simpson rookie card. And I didn't buy it because he's a murderer. Do you have that other guy, Aaron... Hernandez. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:03:13 Yeah. Oh, no. He was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping. But that's not murder bill. That's armed robbery and kidnapping bill. But yeah, I don't even blame him there. He was getting his stuff back. Yeah, but still...
Starting point is 01:03:25 I know, I'm just, you can't do it. I still don't understand our criminal justice system. Here we go. Is this his bit? Oh, okay, I like it. Is this it? You feel free to. No, no.
Starting point is 01:03:36 We got like five minutes. No, no, I got something way more interesting than this. Give me 30 seconds on a criminal justice system. How is someone convicted in a civil trial and not a... What do you call it? A other trial. Criminal child. I mean, if...
Starting point is 01:03:51 they're not criminally responsible for the death, then you can't make them pay money for the death. So what I would say is, a civil liability is doesn't have to be found guilty at the same level of a criminal does. Like with reasonable
Starting point is 01:04:06 doubt. Criminal everybody has to be on the same team. Or it can be a hung jury. A civil trial different. What do you mean? Well, I'm trying to think of the language they use. Well, that's your, and it's, yes, that's a, that, that is a criminal.
Starting point is 01:04:27 Reasonable doubt. So. Because that's where you have to come from, like as a juror. That's why I would be a horrible juror. Oh yeah, wait. Horrible. Horrible. I would have to, if I ever get called for, I'm like, look, judge, go ahead and dismiss me
Starting point is 01:04:40 because I'm just going to, whoever speaks last and is slightly convincing. I'm going to be like, you're definitely out of there. If you say that, you're out of there immediately. Like, I'm probably going to believe. You probably, they don't want to let you let you work. anymore. You don't give a job. Yeah, that's true. A criminal trial. Brought by the government of the state.
Starting point is 01:04:55 Yep. To determine if someone broke the law. Murder, assault, robbery, DUI. The burden of proof, like Amy said, is beyond a reasonable doubt. So even a doubt, even if you think they did it, but you're like, ah, you still are not supposed to find them guilty. Penalties. Jail prison. Civil trial brought by a person or entity to resolve a dispute, usually about money or rights. so it is never about jail
Starting point is 01:05:21 the defamation would be one right like defamation character yeah he says something bad about me and then I sue him correct okay please don't I wouldn't get much the burden of proof is much much much lower meaning it's not beyond a reasonable doubt it is more likely than not
Starting point is 01:05:45 that's the difference you don't go to jail and it's kind of like more yeah I'll probably do it and then don't they settle a lot in civil like kind of just like you know what I don't want to deal with this I'll pay more in attorney's fee so here's a million OJ acquitted for murder criminal civil found liable and wrongful death order to pay so criminal trial basically
Starting point is 01:06:06 did you break society's rules civil trial did you hurt someone and now they have to be paid for it yes yeah I just I feel weird like I hear you I mean I'm not saying I don't think he did it but he wasn't convicted, but then the civil tribal tribal said he did and he had to pay all this money
Starting point is 01:06:25 and it's like, well, they said he's not guilty and then why, so we just moved to another court. No, it's just a different bar. It's just double jeopardy. It's not double jeopardy because it's not being tried for the same thing twice. It's a different standard he's being held to if he's guilty or not. Because you could go,
Starting point is 01:06:41 it needs to be 100% zero for federal, but it can be 6040 for civil. Right, which is crazy. Why all of a sudden we go to another court and be like, you know what, if we're going to make him pay millions of dollars we just only need half the people to say he's guilty. It's just a different version of a trial. Okay.
Starting point is 01:06:58 It is weird. I'm not arguing pro or against your thoughts on it, but I'm saying they are two different types of trials. No, I get it. I get that part. It's weird. What is your, what's your, what's your, what your, selfish second? Yeah, do you ever think you're losing your mind? Yes.
Starting point is 01:07:11 Live it. Because this morning, I brought this water bottle to work, and I had it here, and I went to the bathroom, and I had it with me, and then I came back here, and I couldn't find it. Couldn't find it anywhere. And I searched for an hour. Every time we had a break, I was looking for it. Couldn't find it. I went back to the bathroom and dug in the trash can to make sure I didn't throw it away.
Starting point is 01:07:32 Someone that works in the other room, Kevin, saw it sitting there. It'd be funny to hide my water bottle from me. Well, that's the kind of crap you do to people all the time. I know. But I was losing my freaking mind. So when we lose our minds, because you've hit our stuff, that's how we feel. I was about to Nashville all email. You do that anyway.
Starting point is 01:07:48 You have to stop, by the way. Stop doing that. What do you mean? send all the emails to everybody. And he responds to all to it. All them. He's like, hey, everybody. You want a cookie? There's one in the lobby. You know you do that.
Starting point is 01:08:02 You want the attention. I did bring cookies for the whole office and I sent a national hall. You didn't bring crap. I think you found them somewhere. No, there was one where they emailed about a truck that was a wreck or whatever. And he said he needs to find a place that like has like a body shop. Does anyone have
Starting point is 01:08:18 any ideas? No one responded. So then he followed up and said, this is the GM or whatever. He followed up and said, are there any opinions on this? And there go, green light for lunchbox. He's like, yeah, it looks like the hood's dented. Oh, God. Looks like it's going to need some work. But I mean, yes, they asked for opinions.
Starting point is 01:08:36 Is there any opinion on this? This is what he wrote. I would say that someone smashed the front end and not sure it's drivable right now because I don't think it's straight legal. Also, might need a new rap job with the hood being busted up. That's my feedback. And the other one about the cookies is like I put cookies in the lot. I don't know where those cookies came from,
Starting point is 01:08:51 but I can tell you he did not go to the store and buy cookies for people on the aisle. No way. The email said, any feedback on this? And it said Nashville All, so I'm like, well, they're looking for feedback on the Trot. Well, I'm going to tell you, it's dinted, it's wrecked, it's, looks like a piece of crap. Do you think anybody your office knows of a good tutor? I needed a good new tutor. Hey, go Nashville, Nashville All.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Let me read one more Lunchville, Lunchville All. Let me more, Lunchville All. Hello to all my wonderful colleagues. Enjoy some delicious store-bate cookies in the kitchen. Just my way of saying, thank you to your heart. work on the Tuesday. Where did you get to cookies? We had a basketball team party and those were the leftover cookies. Oh, so he did bring them. Some of them were half eaten in the case though. They were. People broke them in half. But people break them in half here. I'm telling you,
Starting point is 01:09:34 it looks like there's bite marks in them. And so I was like, yeah, that's cool. But yes, earlier day, I was just saying, man, I almost lost my mind because I couldn't find my water bottle. But you do that crap to people. No, no, I'm not saying it was bad. I'm just saying I almost had to Nashville all. And then I walked in there and there was my water bottle. I was like, oh, thank you. I walked my path from here to the bathroom six different times. I just leave it somewhere? Couldn't find it anywhere, man. I'm going to joyous

Starting point is 01:11:41 Yeah. You can have opinions, you can have like a strong stance, and then there's your body having its own program. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever. you get your podcast.
Starting point is 01:12:19 On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here?
