But I'm appreciating her in a different way than these boys are. I'm not like, but listen to Los Coleristas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or whatever you get your podcast. It's time for the Bobby Bones post show.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Here's your host, Bobby Bones. We were just talking to our boss, Rod. And he was like, how did Abby's National Anthem go? I was like, it was awesome. it really was great. I thought it would be good. I thought it would be good and we'd be like, good job.
Starting point is 00:02:12 But it was great. She was like hitting some of those runs. Yeah. That I was like, please don't try it. Oh. She did it. Yeah, we'll put it up. You guys want to see it at bobby bones.com.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Abby, don't let me forget, though, to send the guy that Uber dinner. I got to send him Uber Eats. Valentine's dinner. Yeah, for Uber Eats. But I don't know. Well, what don't you know? What to get them? Well, what kind of food to get him?
Starting point is 00:02:35 Look, man. So chico's tacos, dude, that's where it's at. I've been there. You could, could you ask what he likes or what she likes? Do we have his numbers too? Yeah. Get him on the phone. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:48 I'll just get on with him and go right to El Paso. Yeah. What if there's a food allergy? Waterburger. I think he would have said there was a food allergy if he would have. So let me know when he's on the phone and we'll talk to him again. And I'm going to send a Valentine's dinner. The end.
Starting point is 00:03:03 He's had a lot going on. Yeah. So we'll do that. The Super Bowl averaged 113 million viewers, which was its best audience in five or six years. It was only beaten by Rihanna's halftime show. Oh. Like another 5 million people watched Rihanna's halftime show. It actually outrated the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:03:19 Wow. Which, who's not watching the game and then goes, we've got to get home for Rihanna's halftime show? Yeah, who are those people? But they are. Maybe they're just watching something else. They're watching a show on Netflix and they flip over for the halftime show. I don't know. But the Patriots Falcons game.
Starting point is 00:03:35 which is the only Super Bowl that a team overcome a double-digit half-time deficit was the game of 2017 that beat it. So that's what's up there. Let me see. I don't know anyone that didn't watch Super Bowl. I do. You do? Or some of it, I guess.
Starting point is 00:03:51 My wife didn't watch it all. Yeah, but she watched some of it. Yeah. Do you know people who just checked out and just lived a normal life that night? Yeah, I know two people that were like, there's this restaurant that we're wanting to go to. And they're like, our reservations were easy this night because they went during.
Starting point is 00:04:05 the Super Bowl, and they scheduled it that way because they knew they could probably get in. So they had a little date night. They didn't care about. Yeah, my wife said, maybe I should go to Target right now. There would be no one there. She ended up not going, but she was like, man, I could really go to Target and do some shopping.
Starting point is 00:04:19 I wonder if the roads are like Christmas Day. There's really nobody out there. Ray Mundo has an update about Big Brother and his quest to be on the show, which he's tried to be on the show for 15 years. Ray, update. Yeah, they're accepting submissions right now online where you can apply for the show.
Starting point is 00:04:34 and I've had tons of people tagging me and crap like that, but I'm just here to say I'm not doing Big Brother this year. So, it falls this summer. It's a summer show, except for when there was the writer's strike, then they had a winner edition, but it's always in the summer when they film in L.A. This summer, I'm going to be moving.
Starting point is 00:04:51 That's when our lease is up, so it's going to be very busy around the house. Also, our cat is getting older. I just don't feel like I should be away three months in the middle of the summer of this year. You want to miss time with your cat. I get it. Correct. It's a golden years of kitty's life. in the world. You always want to be there for your children.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Now, are you secretly applying, but you're just set it up in case of disappointment? Definitely not applying. What if someone came to you and said, please be on the show? I want to be on it. You would say no to an offer. Because I would be gone, and Beezer would have to handle all the moving process, the moving trucks, lifting boxes by yourself.
Starting point is 00:05:21 That's what moving trucks. I just read there's something called movers. Yeah. Yeah, it's neat. It's crazy. You know, Vegas, they do the big technology thing every year. Yeah. They were showing this thing off where they have movers
Starting point is 00:05:31 and humans come over and pack stuff up. Do you know any movers? Like anybody that owns a company? Ray, you're insane. Okay, so you're not doing it. There's your update. Thank you, Ray. Mike has found a clip where
Starting point is 00:05:43 Lunchbox agrees that a guy is good looking. Ooh. He constantly says he can't see the difference in guys and the difference of one guy's better looking than the other because he only sees chicks. So he's busted in this clip? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:56 I've heard the clip yet. Mike said he got it, though. So we did a cost to book a celebrity game. Lunchbox brought up that Jessica Simpson revealed she had hooked up with a married movie star back in the 2000s. I tried to remember, based on just seeing the headline because it did. Here's a clip for me guessing. And here's what Lunchbox said.
Starting point is 00:06:15 They think it was, he's a good looking guy. And he wore a t-shirt and jeans. Yeah, he was good-looking guy. Bobby said they think he's a good-looking guy. And I said, yep, they do. That's what the news story said. They think it was, he's a good-looking guy. No, I didn't say that.
Starting point is 00:06:30 So they think it was, hmm, he's a good-looking guy. All I said was he's a good looking guy. And I said, yes, that's what the news story said. Because Bobby said they think he's a good looking guy. No. You think Mark Wahlberg's a hottie. There you know what? I can't disagree too much.
Starting point is 00:06:42 He is. Don't know anything about it. I'm just telling you what the news story said. That was the exact headline. Yep. There is a Bobby cast with For King and Country up today. And one of those guys is real good looking. See?
Starting point is 00:06:54 Even lunch box agrees that. Both of them are really good looking guys. But one of them is like, like I said, not like 1950s. And the other one's like so lucky. He's like six foot. They're both just. genetically blessed physically. I look at them both and I'm like,
Starting point is 00:07:06 how come I didn't get any of this crap? But it's up. It's great for King and Country. The Bobby cast, that is up there today. Ray said that somebody, that you knew, won Will of Fortune? Yeah, Brandon O'Brien. He actually worked for the radio station. He broadcasts the Bobby Bone Show in... I know Brandon. Yep, in Virginia Beach.
Starting point is 00:07:23 And now it's here, though. Correct. He moved here. Yeah, yeah. But he was on Wheel of Fortune, won $52,000 in a car. What? Wow. Yeah, you can still watch it. like two weeks ago. He won all that?
Starting point is 00:07:35 Did you watch the episode? Yeah, I did. And they said that he said, he told me, I messaged him and he has not got the check yet. They cut that and they'll give him 52,000. And it's his responsibility to take the taxes out next year. Yeah, that's normal. Like if you get paid and you're not, I believe you're like an independent contractor type thing, that's how they pay you. You got to pay the taxes. Why so many celebrities get into tax trouble. Richard Hatch. Because they just get the checks that they're paid, but the company doesn't take the taxes out.
Starting point is 00:08:02 because they're not a full-time employee. So all of a sudden, they haven't paid taxes forever. Year comes up. They've already spent way more money than they even have left to pay the taxes. And then, boy, does it begin. Oh, man. So, and this job here, they take taxes out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:16 But, like, when I tour, idiots, books, all that stuff, just checks, no taxes. So I don't even get them. I don't even see them. I got somebody who does it. I'm like, I don't even want to know. Take the taxes out first. Because I'll be like, I get that much. Oh.
Starting point is 00:08:30 But if even your people forget to do it, like you go to jail, right? That's correct. Oh, that's messed out. Yes, that's correct. I'll be in there. I'll have my cup and I'll be hitting the bars. Like, you know how they do bring, pring, pring, pring. Oh, yeah, in prison.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Yeah. Bring, bring, bring, bring. You know who will be in the cell beside me? Todd Crisley. That's right. Oh, but you guys are going to be playing golf at noon, though. That's true, too. That's true, too.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Let's see. I got that. Amy had our first Girl Scout cookies of the year. Yeah. Which I'm a big thin mint guy when it comes to those. It's probably the only cookie I love. There are a lot I like. But thin mints to me universally wonderful, normal temperature,
Starting point is 00:09:12 wonderful in the freezer, just the best. Yep. You? Hands down. I'm a thin mint girl, but I decided to try their gluten-free one. Toffee-tastic. They're like $5.50. They're more expensive.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Six. Oh, wow. $6 for this box of cookies. And I just was underwhelmed, and I had to immediately eat a thin mint to make things right. Oh, you didn't like it, and you had to make up for it. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I was like, okay, thin mint time just to, like, get this out. It wasn't terrible, but, like, there's plenty of gluten-free cookies that you can get at the grocery store that are a lot cheaper and better.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Did you, 556, that just reminds me, do we have a clip we ever, that we did not play of some guy or some woman talking financial advice with you? We talked about it. Did we play that on the show? No, we never played the clip. I just talked about it. I haven't heard anything about it. Okay, so let me say this, because some of my friends are like, Lunchbox doesn't have a 401K.
Starting point is 00:10:09 I don't have one either. And Eddie doesn't, they're like, is this a bit? I swear to God. No. This is not a bit. No, no, she was pretty adamant about the fact that, like, they need to get on that and get on it now because they're just. Where do you go get one?
Starting point is 00:10:21 You know, 7-Eleven there on 3rd? Yeah. Right next to it. There's a pawn shop, walk in there, ask for Jimmy the Greek, and say 401K. No, but isn't there like a company Hulet Packard or something? I thought that was computer company.
Starting point is 00:10:34 This is why people think this is a bit when you do this. Because I'm serious, man. Hewlett Packard, is that really? No, they're at the grocery store sometimes. That's Jackson Hewitt. Oh, that's it. What do they do?
Starting point is 00:10:46 No, they do loan. They do paid a lot. These are not like bachelors. These are like married men with kids. Yes. And we have to save our money. Both of them want to retire. I was talking about friend Scotty.
Starting point is 00:10:56 And he goes, is this a bit? Are they doing a bit? Scotty does 401K? Yeah, Scottie does that? Yeah. So we can call Scottie? I don't know that he's going to help you? I think he says,
Starting point is 00:11:05 why don't you just call HR? Why don't you just ask the company here? And they were like, is that a bit? Are they really that dumb? And I said, they're not dumb about everything, but they don't have 401K. You're telling me everyone has a 401K. No, I'm not, but I'm telling you our company has one.
Starting point is 00:11:18 My mom and dad don't have one. Right, right, right. But our company's had one. You've worked on our company so long, and then you're like, what do we do? What I literally did was looked in the little packet they gave me and read about it what it was, and I got online and looked at what it is,
Starting point is 00:11:30 and you put money in it, they mat. I don't know what they do now. After COVID they stopped, but there was several years we got matched. Whatever you took out, the company matched it. You can't get it out, or there's a penalty until you reach a certain age. But the reason you put it in is so they can use it to invest
Starting point is 00:11:43 and do all this stuff with it. But you never lose it. Actually, you gain more. And then when you hit a certain age, you get that plus what they've matched. And then that's your retirement. But could their investments go wrong? You know, could they make a bad choice?
Starting point is 00:11:56 and then like, ooh, their company goes under and there goes our 401. Could we be like Bernie Madoff? Like where all our money's gone? By our company? I don't understand. You say that you're giving it to our investments. So you're giving it to our company? So what you're selling me is they're supposed to pay me.
Starting point is 00:12:12 What I'm selling you is I don't know, except I read it in the thing and it said, do this and we'll match whatever you put it up to a point. Sounds fishy. Yeah, right. Okay. So you're telling me, I'm done. No, no. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:12:23 I don't know enough about it to answer the questions, though. I don't know enough about it. I have one more question. I just know I have one. So if I'm understanding this right. And I've had one since 2004. Have you checked the balance on that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Really? How's it good? Oh, pretty good. Oh, wow. Okay. I can't get it for a long time, but pretty good. So we get paid by our company. And then we're supposed to just turn around and give our money back to the company.
Starting point is 00:12:46 You don't give it back? It's like a savings account. Right. You know how a bank takes your money when you put in an account and they just use it to invest? I just learned that about six months ago. Right. You told me that. I thought my money was just sitting in that bank hanging out.
Starting point is 00:12:57 But why would they do that? Why would they build a place just for you to put your money and then also give you interest? I don't understand. I don't know. Right. I don't know how that works. Me either. Really?
Starting point is 00:13:08 I know surface. So I'm moving off this topic. I just know that I go in there whenever. But all I know is Scott said is a bit by these two. How can they be on the show this long and the show be successful and they don't even know what it is or have one? What does the show have to do with 401K? Yeah. When are we, are we a financial institution?
Starting point is 00:13:27 No, but you've had a, it doesn't matter. You've had a consistent job. Like how do these guys have that? I mean, Scottie's a company that provides it. Scottie, it's like, hey, man. Scottie, they catch a fish, ice fishing, isn't it to Eddie. I love that video. He was ice fishing, he sent me a video.
Starting point is 00:13:40 And he goes, check it out when ice fishing. Because he lives in Colorado now. I said, I don't, I don't, I don't care. And so he's reeling it up. Lines into the water. You see he's got a fish, and this line breaks. Boom. He's like, oh, crap.
Starting point is 00:13:52 And then like one Mississippi, two Mississippi. Sippy, the fish jumps out of the hole, boom, it just lands on the ground. Is that crazy? What? Lunchbox has to show you the video. That's really cool. I couldn't believe it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:02 Well, tell Scott to quit judging us. No, he wasn't judging. He was literally asking me, hey, is this a bit? Not a bit. It's like if someone works for like an NBA team. You know what I'm just saying? Anywhere. You don't have to work for a financial institution to take advantage of what your
Starting point is 00:14:14 company does for you? Because don't you have insurance? We don't work for an insurance company. And they provide that. Oh, good call. Okay. But also, one other thing to take into consideration that the financial person told me is.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Oh yeah, we have clips, right? I don't have clips. Can we hear these clips? Oh, there were no clips? No, I haven't even heard it yet. I haven't even heard it yet. I've even interviewed her.
Starting point is 00:14:33 So that, okay, so you take your taxed off of what you make. Like, and so the less you have in your paycheck. So we want to make less? Just let me finish the sentence before you ask. I don't really know what you're saying. Oh gosh. She said we're taxed off what we make. Stop talking.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Stop talking. Okay. Go ahead. The more you make, the more taxes you pay. Whatever your paycheck is, even if it's. Amy, do it in a dollar. That's how I do it with them. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Let's say your paycheck is $20. No, $1. Let me do it with $1. $1. Okay, whatever. Because it's easy to break down. It's a 10. It's, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:15:03 I'm not going to go that far. The point of my statement is, if you invest in a 401K, the company takes that out of your paycheck immediately. So then you pay less taxes. Really? Yes. That sounds cool. Right. Now this sounds cool.
Starting point is 00:15:18 But then you don't get it. So I can do the 401K starting today. There are, probably you have to call and ask. Okay. Call Mr. Okay. I don't know when you have to stop. And can I decide how much money I put in there? I don't know, Eddie.
Starting point is 00:15:28 I don't know enough about it. I just literally know you can go yes, but you can't go more than a limit, I think. You want to drive down to that punch? 5%. Is that you're saying, scuba? I believe it's 5% is the max you can do. I recommend just doing 1%. You don't see much. You don't even see that at all when your paycheck at 1%.
Starting point is 00:15:43 And they don't have no match any more than the company. It's through Fidelity, which is an outside company that does it. If you're not doing it, I know, if you're kidding, that's fine. but if you're serious, you really don't have a 401k, that's very sad for your family. Are you kidding or serious? Dead serious. Dead serious.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Why would we be kidding? Then you've done a disservice to your whole family for being here for 15 years. Why not putting it together in a retirement? Really? I've been a disservice to my family by putting a roof over their head mill. Thank you, Dave, Ramsey. Yes, but like long term.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Hold on a minute. And if Smer ever to hit the fan, you could cash your 401k out, which you lose a percentage, but you could use that in a rainy day. Yes. Yeah. Yo, bro.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Hey, I just asked them if it was a bit or not. They swear to God, it wasn't a bit. and they look so stupid right now that I think it's probably the truth. If not they're really good at it right now. We're not acting. Hey, Scotty.
Starting point is 00:16:28 He can't hear you. It's ain't money. You just told Scotty that right now? Yes. I mean, why would we make that up? Hey, guys, lunchbox, you know how you record your phone calls? Call HR today. I don't even know how to call H.
Starting point is 00:16:39 I've literally had the conversation with my wife. Why do I have to tell you this all the time? Every year we do the whole benefits thing, I tell my wife, like there's a 401K thing. Should we do? She's like, no. Okay. move on.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Really? Yes, every year. I don't know enough about... Oh, I don't even know that was an option on our thing. I don't know enough about Eddie about money to tell you. Life insurance? I'm good. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:59 I don't think I do life insurance either, man. I mean, you're paying... But I've seen stories of where people get killed and the whole family's taking care. That's why I don't tell people who's a benefactor. Oh, actually, I do have it. You guys don't know who's in my will. I will never tell you because one of you will kill me. Oh, yeah, probably.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Because only one of you. I change it every day. So if I die on what day, it's like a moderate. system. It's like the wheel. So, yeah, I don't know anything about finances either. I got a question. Does everybody have life insurance? Yes. I just said no. Because it's part of the company thing that they offer. Is Scoobah telling us? It's like
Starting point is 00:17:28 four bucks a month inside of our company. It is? There's one that's zero dollars. All you do you do is click the box and they'll give you. I think it's like $100,000 for nothing. And if you want to pay for one. That's not nothing. It's like $0.63. And it's like a half a million dollars. You don't actually have to give up your life to get it, Eddie. Yeah, you do. You don't get it unless you die. It's if it happens. Yes. It's like having car insurance. If you get an accident. Are you saying we're a disservice to our family again?
Starting point is 00:17:50 Yes, but not have to. If you die tomorrow, your family's screw, dude. I'm going to have to go be your kid's stepdad. And you know what? I'm not looking forward to that. Stay away from my wife. Wow. I did not know everybody.
Starting point is 00:18:05 Mike, you got life insurance? Oh, crap. It's just a click a box. It's click a box for like three bucks a month. Morgan for sure has got all that. Yes, I do. It's a packet that they give all of us. And you go through it and it goes,
Starting point is 00:18:18 and then people are like, Man, aren't you such. Well, yeah, because they're like, do you want long-term disability? Nope. But do you know why you would get it or why you wouldn't? But how would we get disability?
Starting point is 00:18:27 Like, we wouldn't get hurt. We wouldn't fall off. I wouldn't fall off this desk, right? It could be, it doesn't have to be at work. Oh, I thought it was like work. If you get hurt at work. That's what I'm saying? I'm like, what am I going to do?
Starting point is 00:18:37 That's like a different thing. I have no idea, dude. This is a mess. You know how hard it is to read that packet? Oh, God. Scotty, they're even dumber than I said in the last message. They continue to get dumb. It is not a bit.
Starting point is 00:18:50 I thought for a second to it could be a bit. It is not a bit. Okay, thanks. Because I read on one of them, like, you get dismembered or something, they'll pay for all that. But like, how am I going to get my arm chopped off here? You never know. People get their arm chopped off every day. Just walking down the street.
Starting point is 00:19:03 Spicy Christmas. Yeah, what do we spin the wheel? And it's arm chop off day. That's right. You never know. Okay, we're moving on from this. Oh, boy. Can we go to Rudy?
Starting point is 00:19:11 Can we go to something that's going to make us feel smart? Rudy. Rudy. Rudy, Rudy. Yes, sir. Hey, buddy. Hey, I'm trying. Good, good.
Starting point is 00:19:19 I have your address here. I'm not going to say it on the microphone, but I'm going to send some, like I said, dinner over to your house, but I need to know, like, what kind of food you like. Okay. My wife is a very basic meat of potato eater. And then seafood life is not a whole lot. She does Italian.
Starting point is 00:19:40 You know, she likes, like, the chicken term or something. I mean, the chicken, marmaso, and stuff like that. Other than that, we're not seafood eater. It's a big-time seafood eat. not seafood eaters. No. Okay. So let me put in his address into my...
Starting point is 00:19:56 Maybe she has a favorite restaurant. That's what, which is what I'm doing here. I'm putting in the address. So if I'm going to deliver enter a new address, you know what's going to say to me? You're not even near this location. So it does all the time. Okay.
