and so we were going to do them now, but we were also going to do the post show, so we'll just do the interviews on the post show, which we've done before, right? Fun. Yeah. So who's up first? Are we on with them?

So first we're going to talk to TIS, who is on weekdays 1 to 4 on B104.7. T.S, how are you, bud? Pretty good, sir. How you doing, man? Hey good. I will follow your lead because I know this is you recording me

more than me recording you. So whenever you're ready. All right, all right, man. Like I said, I'm on the air one to four. I'm probably doing this into a stop set and it's going to be mostly about the New York State Fair, man. We got Bobby Bones on with us right now. Bobby, so glad to see you again, man.

You've been a part of the B104.17 for about two years now here in Syracuse, man. You're giving us all sorts of positivity. You got some good energy. Thank you, man. I mean, how's the show been going so far for you? We feel like it's been going great. So good that we wanted to get up there.

And, you know, on the 20th, we're going to headline the fair. So we hope people will come out and not only experience positivity on the radio every morning, but also come out and watch the show as well. Well, I mean, not to add any pressure to you, man, but you are the opening act for the great New York State Fair, man. And they're even kind of opening later and shutting down earlier, giving you that sweet spot of like 2 o'clock. What are we going to expect out of Raging Idiot Show?

Well, it will be a lot of fun. We have the greatest band. You know, we play some of our comedy stuff here. We also, it's a big party band type thing, too, where you're going to hear a lot of, uh, Eddie, what do we play? awesome for people. Oh, we play Beastie Boys. I mean, we play, I mean, our stuff's upbeat and awesome, too. We're, like you said, we are a party band, man. We bring the party. We play the funny songs that we do original, and we also do some fun covers as well. Or then tell me about the outfits. What are you

going to wear, man? It gets kind of steamy up here. I know. Usually we match and we're wearing sweats and big, I don't know. I haven't done the wardrobe yet. Every year, I kind of create a new look for the raging idiots. So I think this year we just go nude. Oh, no. No, the color nude. New suits, yeah. Oh. Being that is the great New York State Fair, man, are you a fair food kind of person? What can we expect?

What are you going to order? Oof, August 20th, I'll still be on my no sugar deal. No, no, no, you can't do that. I know. I'll probably have to. You tell me, tell me the one thing I'm going to need to get, and I will allow sugar that day only. Man, I'm going to go with a wine slushy.

I don't drink, so I won't be able to do the wine slushy, but Eddie, you can do that one. I'll take care of that point. I never even heard of a wine slushy, though. But it's going to be awesome. Fair admission gets you in, so it's not like you even have to buy a crazy ticket to come to a show.

Oh, yeah. I mean, it's, I like wine and I like slushies, So yeah, why not? I guess fair food for me is like, it may be old school now because I don't eat a lot of food. It's fair. I guess I haven't been to a fair unless we've performed it. But like a fried Oreo or fried snickers. We went and had dinner the other night and we had, they said, hey, the chef is toying around with a new brownie if you would like to have it.

And I've been on no sugar. And Caitlin's like, why don't you just have this brownie because it looks really good? And I was like, I don't know. And they explained it to us. The chef came out and was like, here's what it is. it's all the candy we had in the back, Snickers, M&Ms, Ries, everything. We'll use that to make the brownie. Oh, wow.

It was the greatest brownie I've ever had in my life. Just throw everything together. Because they did all the chocolate bars they had back there and they made a brownie with it. And for someone who doesn't eat a lot of that right now, I still had what they call a cheat. But it was the greatest brownie I've ever had. That sounds so good. Yeah. And I don't know what the deal was.

Listen, they could have lied and just put some Eminemes on top of it. I'm like, we made this out of all the kids. candy at the store. But I believed him. It's fantastic. You know what I had in the Kansas State Fair? I said fantastic. I caught me. Oh, you did. You sure did. Yeah, go ahead. What? The Kansas State Fair was a couple years ago. I had a donut burger where like there was the cheeseburger, but the buns were a glazed donut. Did I have one of those two? Do we both get one? I think we grabbed a bunch and brought it back. So yeah, you probably did try that. Yeah, that was really good. I mean, you don't expect for it to be good, but it was really, really good.

The Kansas State Fair was in, it wasn't in Wichita. Morgan, where's the Kansas State Fair? I believe it was in Hutchinson. Is that right? That's correct. Yeah, that was awesome. Morgan No. 2 came out with her family. Yeah, that was a party.

The thing about the New York State Fair that's going to be, because they have two headliners every day, one that plays at two, which is what we are, and then one that plays at like seven or eight. When we play at two in the New York State Fair, it's two o'clock, their first performance at the whole fair, but it's on a Friday. So we're hoping people.

Yeah. Hope people to skip work. Exactly. And I never want people to skip work. We'll get set up for another interview in what? Four minutes, Ray? Four. Are we doing on Zoom again?

Yeah. Okay. Brittany Spears bought her first ever iPad. I guess because they're letting her buy an iPad now? Yeah, I don't know. Maybe it's because she just didn't have the, she didn't have a way to buy it for herself. Yeah.

What do you mean? Because she didn't, she wasn't in control of her money. And they kind of lock her up where she couldn't do any. Yeah, I don't. really understand what that all meant. They tell her how she can spend her money, what she can do. Oh my goodness. I mean, an iPad is expensive. Brittany Spears is the proud owner of an iPad calling it a groundbreaking day. The 39-year-old singer took to Instagram to share her unbridled excitement at her new

purchase. She said, my life does seem different with an iPad. I've never had one before. So the iPad will change her life. I bought the air tags from Apple. They're fantastic. They're great. They changed their life. You almost said it again. Well, my, the dogs now have one in their collar. So if they ever escape or they ever get out of the fence, all I have to do is go to my phone. I also have one of my wallet, check this out. So if I've ever lost my wallet, and I can't

find it, it will walk you within one foot of it. It'll go, do you want to do close? And then I'll go take two steps this way. It'll walk you right to it. Oh, that's handy. Also, if you can't find it, let me see, let me do find my, find my, if I'm like, I can't find my wallet, all I have to do

Did you put one of those in Caitlin's car? What do you mean? Make sure you know where she's going at all times. You know, I don't have... Eddie, that sounds creepy. What? He's their husband. Okay.

So now, because they're married... It was a joke before he starts off. I think for a while we had find mine on, especially when, I don't, but we don't anymore for some reason. Oh, like, find my, like, just, you can do two people. Oh, yeah. You and your wife do that, don't you? We do it all the time, sure. If you're ever, like, wondering where somebody is, you're like, I don't know where he is.

You can go, boop, find out. I'm not trying to hide, although I would have hated this while I was trying to, while I was trying to find a engagement ring. Oh, yeah. Oh, she would know exactly where you were, yeah. And I like to do surprises. And so there have been a couple times where I thought, okay, I'll leave my phone here. And then I thought, I'll just get a second phone.

I want to burn her phone so she won't know. And I was like, that probably won't be a good idea. That's what people do and that's not good. I know. I told her that. I was like, I don't get any to get a second phone so you don't catch me when I'm doing surprises. She goes, I don't think we need a second phone.

See, my friend did that with a credit card. He's like, oh, I just get my own credit. My different credit card that did not turn out well. Oh, to buy surprises? Yeah, when she found out they had a different credit cards, not good. Ray, how's the money stitch with you and your wife right now? Yeah, so it all flows through her. I canceled my checking account, so she controls it all.

We were doing the $9 a day. I think we moved from that a little bit. Moved up? Yeah, I get a little bit more responsibility, but we paid off basically almost all debt. Credit score went up like 75 points. So you were getting $9 for lunch. It's like it's per diem.

Well, I mean, we always did the credit card because you could get points for Southwest. So, yeah, I was given a per DM. I go the gas station, get something small, but it kept me from going and get gambling, going and getting lotto tickets. $9 you can't do too much with it, but you can get some stuff.

Do you think you'll gamble when college football comes back? No, I got to take some time off, hopefully in the near future. But, I mean, I haven't missed it. When I was sitting with the governor from Arkansas, I'd hit him hard on sports gambling and legalizing it. Because it's not legal in Arkansas right now. Well, because you can go into Oakland or Pine Bluff where they have casinos. They have like four casinos, three that are working, one they're building.

And then I was like, hey, why don't we legalize sports on smartphones? I said, I'm in the state. I can't even bet. I said, you get the money from. I said, I have to go back to Tennessee to bet. And he's like, well, I said, Here's the difference. I said, how I grew up, and if there were casinos, you would see people take their paycheck, and it was very sad.

And they would go, and they would go to the casino, and they would gamble it. I said, with a smartphone, it's a little different because, first of all, you have to have a smartphone. You have to have a checking account. There's a lot of things you have to get through. There are still people, I'm sure, betting way too much. But it's different than casino gambling. And I said, and if you're letting people do it on land, why not, let them do it on their phone and take the money from it. So some gambling's okay and some isn't.

And so I expected it to be legalized yesterday. It wasn't. All because of the conversations. I just thought maybe like the next day. Yeah. I was hitting him though. And what was funny was I sat right next to him. And Caitlin sat next to me.

And he's great. He's super nice guy. And I was like, so what? Yeah, they're asking questions about like their cybersecurity, all this stuff. And then Caitlin's like, oh, I got a question. She goes, do you ever just go to Starbucks? And I was like, well, that's the good question. And he's like, sometimes.

He goes, do you ever just get and drive to go just drive to Starbucks? goes, well, I don't drive. He's like, I get it and they take me to Starbucks. He's one of the perks of the job, but also... Does he ever try to just run away? I asked that too. And he said it's different for governors than President's Secret Service because Secret Service, you can't get away from. You're never supposed to get away from. The governor has state troopers all the time, and they can say, hey, you guys hang back. I'm going to go do this. And so he doesn't, really, he said, but he can, if he wanted to.

So, okay. All right, cool. Let's go over to an interview with Julie Dunn and Rochester. Chester. Hi, Julie. Hi, Bobby. How are you? Doing pretty good. How are you doing? I'm great. Thanks so much for taking a few minutes to talk with me today. Sure. I'll follow your lead here. All right. So Bobby, you're going to be in town next week at Syracuse with the raging idiots on Chevy Park stage at the New York State Fair. I know that you guys were planning on coming through town last year in 2020 and then obviously everything fell apart. It's been a long year and a half. So what does it mean to you to be able to get back out on the road with the raging idiots. Well, for me, mostly, it's just about seeing our listeners.

And that's the greatest part about touring is actually, we sit in a room and we look at each other's faces all the time. Like, it's fantastic, fun for us to actually go and see people that listen to the show and actually, you know, be reminded again as to why we love doing this so much. And so, you know, we play some music, get some laughs, have a good time. You know, that's always the goal. But for us, we kind of leave any show that we do recharge because we get to hang out with our people. Yeah, that's great.

I know that you're going to be in Syracuse. You're going to have a tight schedule. We're right down the road in Rochester. Have you ever heard of a trash plate? That's the thing we're known for in Rochester. A trash plate. Please tell me what a trash plate is because it sounds like something I'd like to eat. It is something you would like to eat, I would think.

It's basically it's a meal with a burger and two sides, usually like mac salad and home fries. And you just put them on a plate together and just mash everything together. You mash it all together? Yep, yep. It's a trash plate or a garbage plate. It's the garbage plate is the original term. I think Eddie wants you to bring those to us. Yes, I'm in 100%. Who knew you mashed them together? I mean, some people don't, but that's kind of what you're supposed to do. I mean, hence trash plate because it looks like garbage. But I definitely, definitely think you should try one when you're in town. Yeah, we're into it. I wanted to say congratulations on the wedding.

Thank you. We are, we're still in marital bliss. How long does this last, Eddie? How long do we stay in bliss? It should be over by now. No? I thought you would say forever. I've been married for six years and it's still bliss. Yeah, that's what I would expect to, Eddie, to say. PC answer. Yeah.

If you're doing it right, it should always be blessed. Yeah, it's going fantastic. It's going, Amy says I say fantastic too much. Now I'm just sitting on the word. But it's awesome. It's awesome. And, you know, it just feels like I'm in a sealed envelope. And it's really an amazing, comfortable feeling.

Yeah. What was your favorite part of the honeymoon? amazing pictures. I get into sleep in. You know, waking up so early to do this show, almost never get to sleep in. So I slept in for like nine days in a row. The food was also really great.

Were you able to like really unplug your brain? Yes, because the time zone we were in was so different. It was nine hours ahead. So there were hours where I just couldn't talk to people about work. Because I do stay pretty, just pretty ingrained all the time in what I'm doing and what's going on. But yes, after a couple of days, I was really able to unplug.

but the first couple were tough, but the time zone thing made a big difference. Yeah, that's awesome. Well, Bobby, I know that you're very busy. So thank you for talking with me today. Yeah, Bobby, I was just wanting to find out whether or not with all the things that would go on with you guys. The wedding and everything is finally all past, whether or not your wife is going to start up with unfancy cooking again on YouTube. That was my question. Thanks. That's a great question. I have no idea.

Probably, I think the three or four weeks leading up to the wedding, she was like, ah, I can't really shoot a cooking show right now. She also just does that for fun. She doesn't try to make any money or anything. So I think she also needs to be inspired. and have something that she wants to cook. But I would assume, yes, I'll ask her today. Here is voicemail number two.

I'm proposing, and I'm a total nerd. I have absolutely no idea how to do this. This is something I do at home? Do I have to take her to, like, a five-star restaurant? I'm like, how do I go about this? Definitely need some advice. I mean, you know, you're the whole, like, new married guy. So I appreciate some help.

I have the new married guy. Here's my advice. Do what is on brand for you guys. If you're a big surprising guy, surprise the crap out of her. If you're a sit at home with a dinner table and have a conversation, do that. Don't feel like you have to base your life decisions off other people's life decisions, either that you know or that are on Instagram. Caitlin and I had been building out this barn in the back.

We've been trying, and that's how I lured her in. It was, hey, we're going to dinner, but I need help with this picking out of color in this barn. And so, and I am big surprise guy. That's kind of been my brand. And so I used what we've been working on. I knew I could get her down there, think she wouldn't have any idea, and then I surprised the crap out of her. But if you're not surprised guy, I don't put that pressure on yourself.

Be who you are, but elevated about three points. And then get engaged and get married. It's fantastic. I have a lot of marriage advice I can give people now. That's my new brand. I write a book. Already. Let me do one more.

Here is voicemail three. Good morning, studio. So we never got an update on the thief. that stole Caitlin's grandfather's guns. Did he get them all back? I know, I think he got a few back, but have they recovered, recovered most of those for him?

Love your show. Have a great day. Bye. A couple months ago while Caitlin's grandfather was suffering from COVID really bad in the hospital on a ventilator, somebody robbed his house, stole a bunch of guns, stole a bunch of other stuff too. The guy is in jail right now

because they did catch him finally, but they don't have all the guns back. I think when I talked to her, Her grandfather, they probably got four or five back out of 20. Yeah, not a lot. But the guy is in jail and I think that they're still looking for the guns or if one pops up, it'll be brought back. But they, I think they got him in jail in like five states over, so who knows where those guns are.

But those were like old school guns that had been passed down for generations. That's why it was so important. It wasn't just like a, you know, a 12 gauge that he went to Walmart and bought yesterday. Yeah. So, but that's the update. I have a new fifth thing up today. Is it Tuesday? Yeah. Yeah, it is Tuesday. So what's up? Well, it's where I go over emails, but I have Kat DeFada, who's a licensed therapist. She's joining me for the emails because I just wanted a therapist perspective on some of the questions I was getting. So she helps break some stuff down.

And she has a good podcast called You Need Therapy, right? People can also check out. Yeah. Eddie and I were going to interview Adam Durrett's from Counting Crows tomorrow and it was just canceled. Bumbed out. Maybe the one I was looking forward to more than any other interview I've ever done on the podcast. It was canceled. What happened?

Is it rescheduled? No, I think there was a COVID scare within the organization, the band, or maybe not a scare. They had to cancel shows last weekend. And because of that, I think they're still not doing anything. And now we're hoping they don't cancel the show on Thursday night. Yeah, because we're going to go to that. But yeah, he was going to come to the house. I had an interview today that just got canceled.

But moved to tomorrow. But was it like one you were looking forward to your whole life? It was Chris Hansen to catch a predator. Really? Mm-hmm. But I don't know. We'll see what happens. Ask them.

How'd you catch them? No. No, but I do think. You know how wine coolers. I do think, Eddie, you know, being a parent with kids online, like they're, I mean, one of the main reasons why I'm having them on is to help, like, how can parents best protect their kids from online predators? Did he get in trouble for something?

He did. Yeah. What did he do? Yeah, yeah. I was looking up some stuff. He didn't get caught. No, no, no, no, no, no. Not like that. Not like that, but I thought, oh, shoot. I was like, well, this is interesting.

I'm probably not going to be talking to him about this. But, yeah, I think he was, they wanted him to provide or turn something over. Oh, here you go. He's charged with larceny and a check bounce with a vendor who delivered promotional items. Is that the only one? Or is that one you didn't know about it? I haven't seen that one. I saw something about him.

balancing checks for nearly $13,000 worth of promotional materials. Ask him about that. That's not good. But yeah, there's also something where he's supposed to turn over, like, information on, I could think, like, a case. Yeah. But they weren't. Because, but I think he thought he was in the right by holding onto it. I don't know.

I'm not talking about any of this with him. I'm just talking about. Ask him about that bounce check. How to keep our kids safe? How do I casually bring that up? Be like, hey, man, I was at the gas station today, and they said, don't take a check from you. You know how behind it sometimes it'll say, don't take a check. Yes.

I was going about that. Where's he live? Do you know? I don't know. They still do that show? No, it's been off for a long time. He's starting, I think he's doing interviews right now because he's starting a podcast about the predators that he caught. Yeah.

That's interesting. Yeah, I don't know that I would listen to that. But that's interesting for people that really like that show. He's 61. Wow. What's crazy? This is a funny story. We'll end on this.

When Eddie and I had first met, we were doing a local. TV talk show in central Texas. It was on a network called M.E. Television. And it's how we got to know each other. I went and I was like, hey, I want to be on this channel. And they were like, okay, we'll hire you. And we would do a music show on top of this building every day. And Eddie would be my video guy, my producer.

And I went to them and I said, hey, I want to do a talk show. Like, this music show is fine. I'm not fulfilled by it. And they said, okay, once a week you do a talk show. I come out, do an opening monologue. I sit down. It's just very traditional as to what you expect a talk show to be. And we would do sketches. and we would do sketches some were funny, some weren't.

You know, we didn't have a budget. We just wrote them ourselves and away we went. Well, I had an idea. I said, what if we do to catch a predator mascot version? And we went to like the store

where they Lucy in disguise. And by like, and Captain Crunch comes up to the door. We do like it's a, you know, home cam,

like doorbell cam. And we're like, we've lured Captain Crunch in. It sounds like. And so we had like Tony the Tiger. Oh, it was amazing. We were going to get, and I thought,

thought it was a really funny idea and that I think that was a sketch that canceled the show. We didn't do it but they said no. And then after that they wanted to like okay every single bit and every single joke. Well, I think they had already made the decision that they were going to start okaying it. And I had already gotten the costumes. I had Tigger. I had the Captain Crud. All that and they were all there.

And they're like, what are you doing with that? So they researched the bit and they're like, no. Absolutely not. So we still had Tigger for like two days though, right? Like you see the doorbell cam and Tigger? walks up, because it was right when this show was massive. It was genius. And it's like, well, it looks like the tiger is actually taking the bait. And Tigger

bounces up. I mean, that show was insane because you kept thinking, like, you know, how... Which one are late show? Well, no, not your late night show, but to... Tuckin Sam flies up. It was called, like, the late, late show with

Bobby Bowens. Yeah, the late show. Almost late. Almost late. Yeah. The almost late. The almost late show. No, but to catch a predator, like, you kept thinking, like, how is this show still happening? I mean, do you got to understand we got in trouble so much that by the time to catch Tigger was a thing that was like the last straw. They were like, let's see your cards for your monologue jokes. Flip them over, let's read them. And I remember being like, all right, we're done. I can't, I'm not going to do this. We made 18 episodes. Which is a lot.

And we were tired. Yes. It was every week, right? There was no staff. There was no staff. No, man, it was like five of it. Is this me and then four camera guys? We played a game called jail bait or okay.

Where we were trying to show people, like, don't talk to kids. People can't, like, get on MySpace. We were like, you can't tell how old someone is just by their picture. And so it was kind of a PSA. It was like, don't, just because somebody messaged you and says they're of age, don't trust it. And so we put it. And then we had like Michael Trejo and see if he could identify if the girl that was mentioning him was older than 18. And he was terrible.

terrible at it. And we were like, don't. A lot of times she was under? Yeah, and we were like, don't talk to anybody online. Yeah. Because we were just taking profiles and going. He was like, jail babe. Yeah, jail bait. Don't talk to them online. We were really stupid. But it's a funny show. We did one segment that went viral, where we faked of marriage proposal. The proposal.

It was viral before viral was a thing. Yeah, probably got 30 million views overall, through all. People were stealing it. It is the whole thing. ABC called my office phone. Like, that was crazy, man. The life we used to live. before we gave it all up for this.
