Starting point is 00:03:05 Hope everybody's good. We got a good show today. Walker Hayes will be in later. who just known Walker for years and years and he's got a new record out today and I always struggle with when my friends come in what do I ask them
Starting point is 00:03:17 that I haven't already asked them but I'll say it now and I'll say it again later I was in the dentist chair because I broke off what does this tooth call it here? I don't know I call it the fang tooth
Starting point is 00:03:26 okay yes everybody knows the fang tooth The sharp one Yeah the pointy I give it the old pointy I broke off my pointy That doesn't sound good Say fang tooth
Starting point is 00:03:35 Sounds weird man All right I broke off my fang tooth. And it was right before New Year's. And I had to do that show. And so I called her dentist. I was like, I can't go on TV missing a tooth. And so he got me in real quick.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And he said, hey, you should come in in like three days and get this thing replaced because it's just a temporary. Well, I went like three weeks. And I could feel like getting lucid. But I just didn't want to go to the dentist. And I was putting it off because I knew they had to stick a needle in my mouth. I hate that. That's the worst. And so I finally went in.
Starting point is 00:04:04 And since it's the top fang tooth, it's on my left side. I guess the only fangs on the top, huh? Yeah. I have pointies on the bottom. Yeah. It numbed my nose. Because they have to numb you up there and it numbed my whole nose, the top of my nose. So I want the laughing gas.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Like, turn it on. I'm there for a while. I'm breathing and laughing gas. And I start to think about the interview that I'm doing today. And I'm like, what can I talk to Walker about? I'm like, let's talk to him about the existential crisis of being famous. And so I'm really going to talk to him about. what it's like to be famous when he wasn't famous.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Because it flipped for him overnight. Yeah, crazy. So we'll talk about that in a second. I did see that the number one streaming music for all the country music is 90s country. Like, it's not new country, it's 90s country. It's good stuff.
Starting point is 00:04:55 I'll play the top five songs here that people stream. Number five, the chicks, Cowboy Take Me Away. Still a great song. So good. Chattahoochee by Alan Jackson, number four. Which I'll put on the dance party today, by the way. I'm a little inspired by that. And number three, Lone Star Amaze.
Starting point is 00:05:21 I like this song, but I don't really listen to it anymore. Like, it was a... I don't chase this for 90s country. Do you guys? No. I just feel like it was such a hit. It was overplayed a bit when I was... And I'm still holding on to the overplayedness.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Man, I feel like a woman, Shania Twain. And the number one is, you're still the one, Shania Twain. Wow. No George, straight. No George? No Garth? Well, the only time you can get Garth is on Amazon. Oh.
Starting point is 00:05:51 I have all the streaming service. Good point. So he's kind of removed himself from that. But still, George. I have a joke in my comedy act that I've been working on a little bit was, you know, everybody is always hating on country music, wishing it was like the 90s again. But back, wait, hold on. Oh, I think I'm a joke.
Starting point is 00:06:05 I only done it one time ever. It's like, oh, it's like, you know what the number one streaming music is right now in country music? It's 90s country. But back in the 90s, people were like, this music sucks like they do today. I forget the joke I don't have it right in front of me but the whole joke is
Starting point is 00:06:19 do you think in like 20 years people look back and go man I really missed a good old days of country music Florida Georgia line featuring Nelly Yeah Maybe all right Yeah I don't really tell it as great It's like a maybe I'll do it at the opera
Starting point is 00:06:31 I work on a You put me on the spot there All right let's go And no, not they won't Amy Not maybe They won't go I miss the good old days of country music Florida Georgia Line
Starting point is 00:06:39 featuring Nelly It's time to play the mailbag song You send an email and we read it on the air It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag, yeah Hello Bobby Bones My daughter graduated college last year And is now living with her boyfriend So I think it's time she starts paying some of her own expenses
Starting point is 00:06:59 While I've allowed her to stay on our family phone plan for now Because I think it's a necessity Amazon is a different story In college, she used my account for necessities Which I was okay with but since she's now on her own, I think it's time she start getting a dose of real-world expenses.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Last week, I decided to change my password to the account so she could no longer use it and she was not happy. In fact, she called me cursing. She and my wife think it's unfair for me to just cut her off, but I don't see it that way. Am I wrong for cutting her off? What would you do?
Starting point is 00:07:36 Now, to me, once you leave college, that screamed, it's time to be on your own. When you leave for college? No. No, no, no. I can understand how people want to help if you're leaving for college. I didn't get help during college. Right. But I don't think everybody should just be left hapless.
Starting point is 00:07:50 You're in school. You're still learning. If people can help you, that's awesome. Gotcha. Once you finish college, I think you have to start taking away some of the easy things you were given to help you get through school. By the way, having just an unlimited Amazon account to you, that's awesome. I mean, that's everything. You can get everything.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Yes. It's a wild. I would not feel bad. about taking that away. The only thing maybe you could have done differently, and by the way, you did nothing wrong. I'm going to go on record and say you did nothing wrong. She's an adult. She's graduated college. She's living with her boyfriend. Time to be an adult. Big girl pants time. That being said, the only thing you probably could have done differently is go, hey, I'm cutting you off the Amazon account on this date. Now, she may run and stock up on stuff and that would, that would hurt
Starting point is 00:08:36 the old credit card. How is there not a budget for it or a limit or like a, you know, because some Parents, yeah, even during that college time frame or transitioning from college to career, it's like, hey, here's maybe I'm thinking like a gas card to help out with gas if you need it. But hey, heads up, no more than $100 a month or something. Well, I would imagine she's not out buying flat screen TVs on the Amazon. I know, but that Amazon stuff can add up real quick. I mean, it's just like, you know, they have that button that's literally by now. And all you get to do is swipe.
Starting point is 00:09:04 You don't have to go to your cart. Yeah. I'm going to say, and her name's on here, it's Allison. Allison, I think that you're good. Yeah. You did what you should have done. Yeah. If you feel like you should do it and you did it, you did what you should have done.
Starting point is 00:09:17 Your daughter is not 15. She's not 18. Heck, she graduated college. She's made the decision to move in and live with her boyfriend. And somewhere we also have to recognize that her response wasn't like, oh, a place of gratitude. Oh, pretty cool. I had this Amazon account. It makes sense.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Like she called cussing you out. So I don't know what kind of environment, but clearly, I don't know. I think that boyfriend's a bad influence, if you ask me. Well, I don't know if it's the boyfriend, but maybe she, I don't know, to evaluate it. She used to kind of just getting whatever she wants her whole life. Sounds like it. Because when you call, that's your reaction. And so, yeah, she does need to wake up a little bit.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Allison, you did right. You did right by you, so you did right by us. The only thing you could have done differently, say, hey, we're cutting things off on this date to let her build toward that. But she may have gone crazy on the Amazon account if that's the case. Time to put your big girl pants on kid. That's all we have to say. nothing else, right? No.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Anyone disagree? No? All right. There you go. That's the easy one. Cut and dry. Close it up. We've got your email and we let it on the air.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Now it's about to close Bobby's mail back. Yeah. In fact, Friday. Let's go. Amy has curated a list of the most fun facts of the week. Hit it. Number five. So if you had a billion dollars, just want to give you perspective on how much that is,
Starting point is 00:10:39 you could spend $1,000 dollars every single. day and it would take 2,740 years to spend it all. But that's if you're not getting any interest while it's in the bank. I would bet you you can spend $1,000 a day and you lose no money because it's probably making that an interest. Yeah, that would be awesome. Someday, man. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I don't think someday. I know that's always a dream like someday, but I don't think so. Number four. Speaking of money, Pablo Escobar used to cheat while playing Monopoly with his family by hiding extra money wherever he planned on sitting. Shockin? No. Like premeditated, you know, monopoly game there.
Starting point is 00:11:19 I'm surprised he didn't just play with real money though. Because he had so much money, like everybody got real money and played. Right. I know he had so much money had to burn money. To stay warm. He had so much money that the rats would eat so much in the warehouse that it would account for like a million dollars a year. Of just what the rats were eating. He had so much money.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Some of it's buried in fields right now. where nobody even knows it's there. He had so. No, it's a non-stop bit. All right, go ahead. Number three. So flight attendants in Brazil, they are required to train in rainforest survival techniques just in case the flight crashes in the Amazon.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Flight attendants are trained for so many things. And people are like, well, that seems like an easy job. What they're doing up in the air is pretty easy. But that's not why they're paid the money. It's what they have to do in case the situation gets bad. They have to learn so many things and they got to handle stuff when it doesn't go right. So they're not just getting paid for giving people drinks. Right.
Starting point is 00:12:21 They're getting paid for all the stuff they might have to do and all the training they've had to do for what they might have to do. So shout out flight attendants for sure. Number two. So the Backstreet Boys and TLC, they both passed on recording baby one more time. So, it ended up going to a brand new artist named Britney Spears. I mean, that would have felt fun. It would have been normal because it would have happened.
Starting point is 00:12:46 But like the Backstreet Boys singing this song? That had been weird because I just picture a girl singing it. In a uniform with her hair and pigtails? I guess I don't picture that part of it. No. You don't? No, I picture, because I was on the radio. I was working.
Starting point is 00:12:58 I just started it. I was like 17 years old. I had a pink CD from a new artist named Britney Spears. And we had to play it like every hour and a half and I didn't get it. And I was like, that song's fine. Didn't get it. And I remember Jeannie in a bottle from Christina Aguilera. That I got.
Starting point is 00:13:12 And I was like, this is the greatest song I ever heard in my life. But, yeah, I never really got Britney's baby. Yeah. So were you more Christina or Brittany? No, it's more, um. Eventually. I mean, because it was what? I don't know that I was ever die hard either.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Insync. That one's easy. Insync. But yeah, Brittany or Christina, I don't guess I ever really had a team there. Number one. This is just cool. In 1981, a California doctor worked around the clock to save the life of a 3.2 pound premature baby boy. Exactly 30 years later, that baby, who grew up to be a paramedic fireman, saved the life of that doctor when a semi-truck hit his car.
Starting point is 00:13:51 That's pretty good. It's almost like that doctor 30 years ago saved the life to save his life. It's amazing, guys. Amazing. That's crazy. Why are you stretching as you tell that story? I don't know. Amy got so excited.
Starting point is 00:14:03 She, like, took her ankle and put it, like, up to her chin. That's a good story. That's a good one. Fun fact, Friday. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two's 32nd Skinny. Chris Jansen released a new song called All In. Now there's stars up in that's got every day since.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Brothers Osborne's deluxe version of their album, Skeletons, is out today. Here's the new track, Headstone. Rock that on my headstone. Walker Hayes dropped his new project called Country Stuff, The Album. Here's the new song, Delorian. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 00:15:17 With Amy. Tell me something good. So Petty Officer First Class Ryan Sykes was given the keys to a new custom-built home in his hometown in Grass Valley, California. And this is super awesome because he has toured in Afghanistan. in multiple times. He sustained a traumatic brain injury, left him partially paralyzed, so he needed a home built specifically to his needs. And it was given to him by homes for our troops. Well, it just reminds me of how great our listeners are, because I'm glad he got that house. And that's what we try to do on this show, too. We have been able to award vets three houses?
Starting point is 00:15:57 Yeah, we've been. Four houses? Because of you guys, the listeners of the show. Like the B team has come together. And when I say built a house, like literally, built it, paid for it for different vets who have gone through different traumatic injuries and we've built homes together for them. So love it for him, but also it just reminds me how strong this team is that listens to the show and works together. What are you reading over there? Well, just how Ryan is now training as a competitive cyclist in the U.S. Paralympics. So that'll be something awesome for him too. And he said that this home has given him more than just a new house. Like it's given him so
Starting point is 00:16:32 much more. So super special. That's awesome. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. All right. Now time for another Lunchbox present segment. All right, first, lunchbox, you took over the voicemails here at the studio. Yeah, you know, you always tell people to call and leave a voicemail. And so people are nice enough to take time out of their day to call and leave a voicemail. But sometimes I stay after work and just pick up the phone and act like the voicemail. So if you call us while we're on the air and you get through, we'll answer live. I may put you on the air. But you can call any time.
Starting point is 00:17:02 we're not on the air, the same number, and leave us a voicemail. 877-Bobby, if you ever want to do that. Here is Lunchbox answering the voicemail. This is the Bobby Bowdo! Show! Voicemail! Yeah! Please leave a message, and we may call you back. We may play it back on the air.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Beep! Is it, though, or is this actually lunchbox? Okay, I can't even tell, because now it's so quiet. Okay, well, this is Sarah. Nobody likes you. Oh my God, it is one bog. You're kidding me right now. Did this really just happen?
Starting point is 00:17:41 If you're satisfied with your message, press two. Oh, my God. Jack, do I press two? If you'd like to speak to Caitlin, press three. So, this is, okay, part of me feels like this is just a recording, and he's totally messing with us, and the other part of me thinks this is really him, but I don't think he'd be listening for this long.
Starting point is 00:18:01 That was boring. Try again. Oh my God. This is not really happening. Oh my God. We, I don't even know what to say. Thank you for calling the Bobby Bone Show. We may play your voicemail back on the air.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Do you hang up? Is it? We can talk with her? Oh, no. Oh, no. Hang up. Well, because we don't know what she called for. You know.
Starting point is 00:18:24 It's also, how cool, you just talked to her? That's funny. It's also funny. He just bailed on her. Okay? Here's another voicemail. Hello. Good morning. How are you?
Starting point is 00:18:35 And welcome to the Bobby Bone Show voicemail. Unfortunately, phone screener Abby was slacking on her job and did not pick up your call in time, so if you've reached the voicemail line, if you'd like to leave a message for the show, please do so out to the beep, and maybe they'll play it back on the air. We appreciate you, and lunchbox is the greatest. Have a great day. Beep! My name is Victor, and I'm calling me from Belinda, Mexico.
Starting point is 00:18:59 My daughter's getting married. I need a good song for the father-daughter. Dan. You guys could help me out. Try smack that by ACON. That won't work. That won't work. I don't think so. The thong song. No, no song song. Nothing like that. I want something she's going to remember. Everybody remembers the thong song.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Thank you for calling the Bobby Bone Show voicemail. Have a great day. Goodbye. You hang up on them? Yeah, hang up. Guys, when you are done with a voicemail, you don't stand around. a voicemail at some point. The voicemail doesn't talk back. That's funny. Okay. That's a good one.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Here's some more Lunchbox audio. Apparently Lunchbox's neighbor confronted him. Should you say why or do you want to just play the clip? Just play the clip. Why are you recording your neighbor? No, no, this is what happened. I was in the front yard and we're talking
Starting point is 00:19:52 and he says something and I'm like, excuse me, did he really just say that? So then I reach in my sweatshirt because I got the little pocket in the front of the hoodie and I hit, record it. And I ask to repeat himself because I want to make sure I heard him correctly. Okay, here we go. It's about 40 seconds.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Here you go. Excuse me, what did you say? I couldn't hear you. Hey, I'm just saying you're the last house in a neighborhood with the Christmas lights on. I walk all over and everyone else is put theirs away. Yours is the last one. What's the deal? Well, I mean, I get it.
Starting point is 00:20:23 I mean, but I have kids. It's been snowing. Like, I have a job. I mean. You haven't gotten around to yet? Yeah, I'm just, I'm, yeah. It's festive. It's festive.
Starting point is 00:20:31 But, you know, it's, it's, it's. There's an energy shortage. You know, you're just burning those kilobots. I'm thinking to you, man. I'm thinking to you. Sure. I don't. And next thing you know, you're going to tell me the earth is round.
Starting point is 00:20:42 But, I mean, any day you want to come by and take them down, go ahead. But, but. Okay. Well, then, all right. Thank you. Have a good night. Have a good night. Have a good night.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Awkward. Wow. Wait, why would you do that? I feel so awkward right now. Why would you get confrontational? Why would I get confrontational? Wait, no. Why him?
Starting point is 00:21:00 That's not on him? That's not on me. Yeah, lunchbox was so awkward. Wait, wait, wait. Next thing you're going to tell me the earth is round. Well, that's a dumb. Yeah, that's dumb. But he wasn't confrontational.
Starting point is 00:21:11 The guy needs to shut his trap. Well, I know, I get it. But why would you make it awkward with your neighbor? Like, the guy's already being awkward, yes. But like, just let it go and be like, okay, you know, we like, oh, mind your own business. No. He's lucky lunchbox didn't say mind your own business, loser. I was frustrated because I was like, did he really just say that?
Starting point is 00:21:26 How did it come up the first time? How did that come up? Well, he was just like, oh, how's it going? You know, did you have a good holiday? And I'm like, yeah. Are you guys just standing out in the yard? Grilling? No, no, he was walking by, and I don't know, I was picking up toys in the front yard,
Starting point is 00:21:38 and he just started a conversation, and then he goes into the Christmas lights. So I think he stopped a talk just for the Christmas lights. And that's why I was like, wait a minute. And so that's when I started recording him, and I took a couple steps closer to him so I can make sure you could hear him. Yeah, that stink. I mean, I would have been upset. Yeah, but.
Starting point is 00:21:57 I'm not blaming you. No, I think that it was awkward, and I'm not. I don't support the man behaving that way, but then also you've like took it to the next level by then. But what did you say? Like, so you're accusing him of actually thinking the earth is round, which it is. No, I'm saying you're telling me obvious things. Like, yes, I'm the only one with the Christmas lights up. It's burning kilowatts.
Starting point is 00:22:18 I understand that. I was saying, next thing. I was saying, oh, you're Mr. Einstein, basically. Oh, okay. But that didn't come out. I didn't get that. I was so just caught off guard. Wow, wow, wow.
Starting point is 00:22:30 So how are you going to handle this? Because now I would leave him up another month. Oh, you would in spite? Obviously, he said he walks all around. So I mean, I'm just going to leave him on. And they're on a timer. So I don't have to turn him on. I mean, I'm an eight on that whatever that scale is.
Starting point is 00:22:45 I'm a challenger. Anything. Anybody pushes me. You about to get pushed five. If I were lunchbox, they'd stay until next Christmas. Oh, wow. What? I would be so upset if this dude came and sit.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Your neighbor, though. Like, you're going to see him all. Anytime. So he's passionate about. energy. Like he probably burning the kilowatts buddy. That's so dumb. So dumb. So what are you going to do? Oh, they're going to stay up.
Starting point is 00:23:08 For how long? I don't know. I mean, until I feel like I'm over this. Valentine's Day. But I am not over this now and I'm not going to be over it tomorrow. I'm not going to be over in three days. I mean, I am so frustrated. I couldn't believe it. Man, I just don't like it when neighbors don't like me,
Starting point is 00:23:24 which has happened before and it doesn't feel good so I just want lunchbox to cultivate I mean, do I really want this guy to like me though? Do you hear him? Yeah, I don't like him. Well, I'm sure he meant well. You think he's really looking out for lunchbox as kilowatt payment? No.
Starting point is 00:23:38 He just is older. No, he's not right. Something's up with him, right? Like, he's just, he's got issues. Or he just is older. Lonely. Or he's just older and he fills his void, maybe he's retired, of what used to be work with the neighborhood beautification. Yeah, maybe.
Starting point is 00:23:53 And saving energy. I don't believe that. Is there really an energy shortage? I have no idea. Never heard of that. I don't know I didn't know that Okay
Starting point is 00:24:03 Update us Lunchbox I will How embarrassing That's awesome That might be the best audio I've ever heard And you
Starting point is 00:24:11 Yeah You want to hear another audio Or you want to end on that I think we end on that You do? I mean that's incredible Save whatever that is I'd like to know
Starting point is 00:24:18 Okay Well maybe we'll do it later Okay there you go That's Lunchbox presents To quality presentations there Amy's still shaking her head I'm shocked The Bobby Bone

Starting point is 00:27:58 APUS. Dot E-D-U-S-Military. There's a voicemail from John in Gainesville, Florida. Hello, Bobby. Morning studio. I love your show. I just wanted to be on the radio. Thank you for listening.
Starting point is 00:28:12 I'm John Kane on Bobby Bone Show. Yeah. Sounds like a political ad. I'm John Kane and I endorse this message. Thanks, John and Gainesville. Here's Megan in Colorado. Good morning, Bobby Bone Show. I just had to let you know that my husband and I are coming out to Nashville just for an adult trip next weekend.
Starting point is 00:28:32 And I heard on your show that The Raging Idiots was going to be performing at the Grand Ole Opry next weekend. So my husband and I were lucky enough to get tickets. And when I told my kids that we were going to go see Bobby, my four-year-old said, he's real. So anyway, we're excited to come out and see you guys. Yeah, Eddie and I are playing at the Opry on Saturday, January 29th. So come on out to the Grand Ole Opry and she started that by saying they're going on an adult trip. That's not it's sexy. That just means no kids.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Hey, that's not it's sexy. Should we put on an adult show? Yes, we should. Okay. We shall perform nude. Here is DJ in Maryland. I heard you say you ain't got a lot of young listeners. I'm 21 years old and all my friends listen to you in the morning too and I drive a truck and I listen to you until you go off in the morning.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Yeah, I listen to you every single day. I'm 21. You got a lot of young listeners out there, man. You do a really good morning show. Thank you. We really do enjoy it. Thanks, man. DJ is now number two.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Yeah. We give him the number of number two. Young listener. We're numbering all of our young listeners. DJ, your number is two in case anyone asks. All right, thank you guys for all the voicemails. You can always leave us one. 877-Bobby.
Starting point is 00:29:50 If you're listening on the podcast right now, and something we say tickles you. Something we say makes you want to call and talk to us. Leave us a voicemail. 877, 77 Bobby. Here's Amy's pile of stories. Okay, I'm going to keep you on trend in 2022, telling you all the style things you need to be doing.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Okay, I like learning the words that people say online more than wearing things. Okay, well, one of these things you actually used to do. You used to have. Pearls. It's on your body. Pearls. Your hair. A mullet is back in style.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Yeah, but I was six. I mean, but it looked good. That was not my choice, was it? Not really. Yeah, that was growing up as a kid in Arkansas, and your parents or grandma had to cut your hair. That was kind of that thing. But, yeah, mullets are back.
Starting point is 00:30:37 I think there are a lot of country artists that have brought them back a little bit, and people like Diplo as well. Well, it's funny to see the kids wear mullets because a lot of kids are wearing them. Yeah. Bedazzled accessories, tooth gyms, pearls. Yeah, I was doing that about a year and a half ago.
Starting point is 00:30:52 You were definitely ahead of it. Ray's doing it now. Yeah. Yeah. High puff hairstyles, checkboard patterns, and vibrant colorful outfits. The teeth jewels, that's tough for me. I don't like anything messing with my teeth. I just had so much dental work done.
Starting point is 00:31:06 I don't like anything messing with them. Our dentist can help out with those if you would decide you want to get one. To put a jewel in a tooth? Yes. I talked to him about it. He came on my podcast and he talked about that. Sounds painful. It sounds like you always have to watch it.
Starting point is 00:31:19 And what if you lost a dime or you lost it? Yeah, I don't, I don't, you could swallow it easily. Maybe you go Cues that your cubics are coming up. Yeah, go a little cheaper, maybe Ruby. Nah, I'll do it all the way. I'll go all the way. So I have some things that you can do tonight if you want to wake up happier tomorrow. So take notes. First of all, practice gratitude. It's good to do that in the morning too if you can. Make fun plans. Like before you go to bed, plan something fun for the next day. That's easy to say, but when you got a job and you got to work all day and you got kids and bills.
Starting point is 00:31:52 I know. It probably ain't easy to plan of magic or a Disney World stop, you know? Okay, well, just a little thing to look forward to. I almost said Magic Springs, which is where I grew up. And I think all the audience would have been like, what the heck is Magic Springs? What about this one? Have you ever written yourself a love note? Uh-uh.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Well, you can brighten up your morning by giving yourself a little encouraging message. How lame would it be if I'm like, oh, time to wake up. Dearest Bobby. No, no, you ride it to yourself. Your eyes are as sexy as they've ever been. You write it to yourself at night. Okay, you read it in the morning. So try it out.
Starting point is 00:32:26 I'm not writing myself a note at night. It'll be sexier at night. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, you write it at night, you wake up and you read it in the morning. Maybe you do it for Caitlin and she does it for you. That's better. I guess.
Starting point is 00:32:39 Okay. I don't think I'm going to write a love note at night for no reason. You're going to hate this one, but obviously stay off social media. I mean... I would be less happy. I would be miserable. Okay. Well, Kenny Chesney, I saw that he sold his meat.
Starting point is 00:32:51 music catalog, which the amount was undisclosed, but other catalogs that have sold before are stuff like Bruce Springsteen for 500 million, Bob Dylan for 450 million, and Stevie Nick's like 100 million, so I'm sure it was a lot. I don't know about that. He doesn't, he hasn't written a lot of his songs. That's mostly like a songwriting publishing thing. At this point now, Chesney just gets songs from people and then records them. He probably made some decent money, but nothing like that.
Starting point is 00:33:19 He's 34 number ones. And I wonder how many he wrote. I would think probably four or five. Yeah. Unless it was way early in his career when he was probably writing songs. Well, I guess, yeah. Why would an artist do that, though? Why would they do what?
Starting point is 00:33:33 Sell their catalog. Well, you got a couple options. You can make a little bit of money for a long time through publishing. Or you can make a lot of money in a little bit of time. Okay. And so people want to invest in the long term, so that's why they buy those catalogs. Gotcha. Well.
Starting point is 00:33:47 If anyone wants to buy the raging idiots, it's for sale. Yeah, $9.99 and, you know, maybe some Olive Garden? Because we want that money now. Yeah, we did it in a second. Like $9.99? No, no, $9.99. Again, maybe that's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories.
Starting point is 00:34:05 It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. Johnny Walker's family hadn't seen him in months. They were looking for the 53-year-old man everywhere. Then they're watching the local news. in Houston and they see there was a cop chasing a suspect, car
Starting point is 00:34:23 crash, cop's cars on fire and Johnny was homeless, was right there at the scene and was seen on TV pulling the cop out of the car and that's how they reunited with their brother. So what ends up happening with Johnny? They got in contact with him because he's homeless, he has some mental
Starting point is 00:34:39 issues and so they got him some resources, closed and a place to stay and it's just great to see him after a few months. I mean if somebody deserves to go fund me, and by the way, everybody's getting to go fund me these days, It's Johnny Walker. Yeah, Johnny Walker. And also, it just reminds me of alcohol.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Is that a name of an alcohol brand? Yes, it is. A whiskey. Oh, it is? Mm-hmm. That's why it sounded familiar. I was like, I know Johnny Walker. I guess I just know people talking about Johnny Walker.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Great story. The guy risked his life to save somebody else and now is being rewarded for it. That is what, wow, this Johnny Walker is expensive too. Oh, it's fancy whiskey. Yeah, it's like $220 a bottle. Oh, man. And it's in a fancy blue case. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Shout out Johnny Walker, not the alcohol, the guy. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. What is your general feeling on the Megan Fox Machine Gun Kelly relationship. Now, engagement. I mean, I don't totally care, but it's just all over. Like, any time I go on Instagram, I follow, like, e-news and all those places, and they're constantly posting about them, so I feel like I learn more.
Starting point is 00:35:42 But I don't generally care. Yeah, I feel like it's kind of dirty. They're just like licking each other all the time, talking about blood. Yeah. It's just so extra where they're just like begging for attention. Yeah. You mean like dirty in the way, like they're clean but dirty. Like raunchy.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Yeah. And like that's a raunchy relationship. From whatever they're showing us, right? I mean, that's probably just their vibe. I'm sure. Like sometimes people do stuff outwardly, but inside they calm it down. Just very attention seeking By being like naked sometimes
Starting point is 00:36:21 I don't know I'm annoyed with it because I just have to see it all the time And I feel like they're just doing things to make the news That being said There's a ring that he designed for her The engagement ring Is it crazy or romantic Anytime that she takes it all
Starting point is 00:36:35 It has thorns in it so when she takes it off it hurts her He doesn't want to ever take it off Like he specifically designed it that way Again I don't know This just feels like Just such an attention play and take it from someone who has been begging for attention
Starting point is 00:36:48 his whole life. I've been begging for attention. I never got any as a kid. I got any attention. So now as I'm an adult, I'm like, look at me, look at me. Like what would Caitlin have done? Like, because you designed her engagement ring.
Starting point is 00:37:00 If when you proposed and you put it on her finger and you were like, hey, design this just for you. And heads up, I designed it so that it'll hurt you if you ever take it off. Should we go, this is the stupidest thing you ever heard? How do I break these thorns off? I don't want it to hurt every time I have to take it off. if I'm going to sleep or swim or something.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Yeah. And also, it probably doesn't hurt. It's probably just another little talking point. They have to be like, look how in love we are. Well, click bait got me. It's so intense. Our love is so. And don't you feel like love that's completely so overwhelmingly intense for a long time?
Starting point is 00:37:34 Probably those relationships don't last forever. Yeah, or if they overcompensate, like talking about it all the time, they're they trying to cover up something. that's like they're not as happy so they want to portray that they're super happy I don't know There's a lot of lick in between those two They're always licking each other
Starting point is 00:37:52 Oh yeah They always Their hands are in their private places Pictures weird In public All right all right Enough about them Crazy or romantic
Starting point is 00:38:01 What's your answer? Crazy Eddie? Crazy Yeah Like local crazy I go crazy too That's crazy
Starting point is 00:38:06 All right let's go over to Amy And get in the morning corny The morning corny The morning corny So two trees got arrested downtown. Okay? Yeah. I heard they were up to some shady business.
Starting point is 00:38:20 That's pretty good. That's pretty good. That was the morning corny. It's time to play the mailbag song. You send an email and we read it on the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 00:38:40 My daughter graduated college last year and is now living with her boyfriend. friend. So I think it's time she starts paying some of her own expenses. While I've allowed her to stay on our family phone plan for now, because I think it's a necessity, Amazon is a different story. In college, she used my account for necessities, which I was okay with. But since she's now on her own, I think it's time she start getting a dose of real world expenses. Last week, I decided to change my password to the account so she could no longer use it and she was not happy. In fact, she called me cursing. She and my wife think it's unfair for me to just cut her off, but I don't see it that way.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Am I wrong for cutting her off? What would you do? Now, to me, once you leave college, that screamed. It's time to be on your own. Wouldn't you leave for college? No. No, no, no. I can understand how people want to help if you're leaving for college.
Starting point is 00:39:33 I didn't get help during college. But I don't think everybody should just be left hapless. You're in school. You're still learning. If people can help you, that's awesome. Gotcha. Once you finish college, I think. you have to start taking away some of the easy things you were given to help you get through
Starting point is 00:39:49 school. By the way, having just an unlimited Amazon account to you, that's awesome. I mean, that's everything. You can get everything. Yes. It's wild. I would not feel bad about taking that away. Now, she may run and stock up on stuff and that would, that would hurt the old credit card.
Starting point is 00:40:24 How is there not a budget for it or a limit or like a, you know, because some parents, yeah, even during that college time frame or transitioning from college to career, it's like, hey, here's maybe I'm thinking like a gas card to help out with gas if you need it. But hey, heads up, no more than $100 a month or something. Well, I would imagine she's not out buying flat screen TVs on the Amazon. I know, but that Amazon stuff can add up real quick. I mean, it's just like, you know, they have that button that's literally by now, and all you get to do is swipe. You don't have to go to your cart. Yeah. I'm going to say, and her name's on here, it's Allison.
Starting point is 00:40:56 Allison, I think that you're good. Yeah. You did what you should have done. Yeah. If you feel like you should do it and you did it, you did what you should have done. Your daughter is not 15. She's not 18. Heck, she graduated college.
Starting point is 00:41:10 She's made the decision to move in and live with her boyfriend. And somewhere we also have to recognize that her response wasn't like, oh, a place of gratitude. Oh, pretty cool. I had this Amazon account makes sense. Like she called cussing you out. So I don't know what kind of environment, but clearly, I don't know. I think that boyfriend's a bad influence if you ask me. Well, I don't know if it's a boyfriend, but maybe she, I don't know, to evaluate it.
Starting point is 00:41:34 She used to kind of just getting whatever she wants her whole life. Sounds like it. Because when you call, that's your reaction. And so, yeah, she does need to wake up a little bit. Allison, you did right. You did right by you, so you did right by us. The only thing you could have done differently is to, hey, we're cutting things off on this date to let her build toward that. But she may have gone crazy on the Amazon account if that's the case.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Time to put your big girl pants on, kid. That's all we have to say. There's really nothing else, right? No. No? All right. There you go. That's the easy one.
Starting point is 00:42:04 Cut and dry. Close it up. We've got your email and we read it on your air. to close Bobby's Mailbag. And let me say this. If you ever want to send us an email, you have a question or a comment. Morgan has that address.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Morgan, where do they send the email? Mailbag at Bobbybones.com. There you have it. Coming up, a sit down, a one-on-one, a very intense interview with Walker Hayes. That sounds good? Yeah. That's awesome.

Starting point is 00:46:13 Walker Hayes He's walking down the hall right now Tough loss when Alabama lost That's his team So we're gonna be very gentle with him Although it's like a mixture because Hey Walker come on in buddy No sit over here
Starting point is 00:46:26 I was talking about today your record's out So that's good But if my team had lost It would be bad In Alabama for you where are you on that? I'm okay now. Was it rough for a minute?
Starting point is 00:46:41 Yeah, it hurt. But Alabama wins all the time. It's got to be different. We did. We did. And I was, you know, the SEC championship was awesome. I mean, I enjoyed that a lot. And it was good to beat the dogs.
Starting point is 00:46:51 But yeah, it kind of hurt. Well, it's good to see you again. Good to see y'all. I was thinking about you yesterday. I was in the dentist chair. I had broken a two and I had to go in. And, you know, you and I talk rather frequently in one way or the other. And I was like, what do I talk to Walker about that we haven't talked about 10 times before?
Starting point is 00:47:10 But I was just starting to get laughing gas at the same time that I'm having these thoughts about myself. And laughing gas for me is the only time where I really go into full relaxation mode. Okay. It's the only thing that does it for me where I start to have thoughts that I normally wouldn't have. And the only thing that kept coming to me was I should really talk to him about the difference in being famous versus not being famous. Okay. Because you've had no idea where this was going. You've had quite the change.
Starting point is 00:47:34 Yeah. From being a guy that had a different kind of sound that was just trying to make us way in a format to in a year, like, you're now famous. So what's been the biggest change in your life? As far as fame, you know, is concerned, it's the recognition, you know, everywhere we go. Like if we go to Chick-fil-A, everybody wants to meet us
Starting point is 00:48:02 and get a picture with, like, the whole family. you know and and uh and i love it everybody's so nice but that was a huge i mean that happened overnight you know um and i got neighbors now you know who want autographs but i've been seen them you know for a couple years i'm like i'm a same i'm a same dude but um you know man you know you know my story through and through and so while that is a adjustment um i'm so grateful because those people buy music, you know, and they sing along and they learn the dances where they're kids. And that's all I wanted to happen. For those that are just turning us on, let me play a clip of Walker. This is Fancy Like, this is the song that changed his life here.
Starting point is 00:48:47 You've probably heard over and over again. This is a song too that, you know, we've played so much. I've heard so much. And I'm like, okay I've heard this song 10,000 times then I start to be like all right I'm a little fatigued of it but then it comes on it I'm not paying attention to it and I find myself singing along
Starting point is 00:49:06 so I'm really not fatigued to it Yeah you know it's one of those and oddly enough y'all I'll turn on Instagram and I'll see somebody go you know where's the song been my whole lot you know and they just found it like today
Starting point is 00:49:19 and I'm like I don't know how you just hearing this for the first time but yeah I'm the same way you know my kids will turn it on and I'm like ah not not today you know But then chorus comes and I'm getting into it. Yeah. I'm like, I work at radio station, so I hear the song all the time.
Starting point is 00:49:37 I'm good. I'm not hearing any songs. Right. And then it comes on and I find myself, I find you like, I can't stop. You mentioned your kids and people want to take pictures. Are you weird when people go, hey, I want a picture with your kid? Because Amy has struggled with that with people going, hey.
Starting point is 00:49:52 Oh, yeah. Can I get your kid in a picture? Yeah. Has that been a thing? No, you know, a couple times maybe. it'll be weird, you know, if that person is just weird, you know. It's all about just if the person's weird? Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:50:08 But, you know, I don't mind. You know, I know they recognize, Lila especially, you know, she's one of most people are like, hey, can I get a picture with her? And she, you know, she gets all giddy. Right. Well, and she's old enough to, like, she can, or you let your kids, like, if for whatever reason that day, they're like, I really don't want to do a picture, you're not going to, like, make them pick up a picture.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Right. And if somebody's like, hey, I want a picture with Everly, I'm like, I don't know, man. You know, that's different. She's six. Yeah, that's probably, can I only get a picture with Everly? That's probably like, yeah, that's hold off. Walker's got a record out today.
Starting point is 00:50:41 It is 13 songs. It's Country Stuff, the album. I did want to play because we know the song, but I feel like, you know, you upgraded it a little bit. This song is Craig, but with Mercy. You won't do it. Come on. Well, I'm going to place another right now.
Starting point is 00:50:55 Here you go. I get. So it's a song that you've put out for Valley Red. But it just might. So it's a song that you've put out before about Craig, a guy who changed your life, who gave you a minivan. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Yeah. I mean, Craig, Craig just, him and his family just loved on my family when we were really not that lovable, especially me. I was an alcoholic. And when I wrote that song to thank him,
Starting point is 00:51:30 you know, for the van. I didn't believe in Jesus. And I thought I was pretty clever and didn't say the name of Jesus in the song, Craig. And a lot has changed since then, and I now know Jesus, and we're next door neighbors. And so I met Bart from Mercy Me, and he said, man, not enough people in the world
Starting point is 00:51:52 have heard this song. And I said, put your money where your mouth is. Let's do it together. And that was actually... Did you really say put your money on your mouth this? I said, what do you think about redoing it? And this was before Fancy Like. And he was like, let's go, let's do it.
Starting point is 00:52:08 And then when Fancy Like popped off, he called me and was like, hey, you want to do that, right? I was like, let's go. So, dude, it's a completely different experience now. And to me, best song on the album, by far. The Friday morning conversation with Walker Hayes. We played Fancy Like just a second ago. I'm assuming you play this last at your shows. Yeah, if I play it earlier, everybody will leave.
Starting point is 00:52:36 You can do it twice, you can do it once in the beginning, once at the end. I could, yeah, but we were actually talking about that. We're rehearsing for tour, and I was like, what if I just refused, you know, to play this song? You know, so many kids and dads would be mad. But yeah, we play it last. When that song was just starting to hit and become viral, Lunchbox was talking about how he's one of the top 20. most famous people in Nashville. Have you heard him say this at all? I've heard it. I've heard him
Starting point is 00:53:02 top. And you still feel like this. Still believe it. Now, you for some reason called out Walker specifically. Don't know why. He's just not top 25. You asked me like, oh, what about Walker A's? And I was like way more famous. Do you still feel after Walker having, not only like the biggest song in country, but one of the biggest pop songs, too, of the year, that you're still more famous in Nashville than he is? Yes. Just because he has one song. Like you always say, just one song doesn't make you famous. People know that song, but they don't know him. That's
Starting point is 00:53:33 the thing. I understand he had one song. Maybe if he has three, four, five, then he can maybe get up there. But a one hit wonder, you know, people don't know who that is. But I wouldn't say one hit wonder. Beautiful. What was the, what was the, because you've had a couple songs.
Starting point is 00:53:49 Well, yeah, you broke up with me. You broke up with me. Maybe, maybe it's a day. Top 10 song, right? Yeah. Yeah. But I'll say this, Walker in the past six months has been on New Year's Eve. Okay.
Starting point is 00:54:02 Right? You did that, national show. The voice? Yeah. He's done the late night shows. I think he did Fallon. Yeah. Yeah, we did Fallon.
Starting point is 00:54:10 Okay. So I'm just saying his face is out there. Okay, but like, okay, simple numbers alone, if you were to even just go to Instagram. Or TikTok and look at the views. Okay, TikTok for sure. Yeah. But, okay, but Instagram Launchbox is active on. Yeah, I don't really TikTok.
Starting point is 00:54:24 You do. And so, like, like, you. That alone, I mean, Walker, how much is your Instagram changed in the last year? It's insanity. I mean, I think we had like 200,000 before Fancy-Like. Right, and now you're, what, like, almost to a million? And lunchbox is sitting pretty at $310,000. But I mean, that alone, like, he already has, it's really good, but the numbers, that's like a
Starting point is 00:54:46 sticking up for him. He's coming after you. I don't know. No, no, it's nothing. It's nothing personal. It's just facts. So if you guys both walked into a Texas roadhouse. people would recognize me.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Okay, not a chance. Not a chance. I think people might recognize you a little bit, but I think, and I would not subject Walker to this anymore because he's above this. Right. Too bad. Look at Walker. He's wearing a camo jacket.
Starting point is 00:55:09 He looks like just someone that got off the deer blind. That's what he looks like. You did get mistaken for a homeless person. And then, where do you look like you just came from? I walk in and say hello, they're going to be like, whoa, what up lunchbox? He would have to go in there and be like, hey, I'm fancy like. He'd have to start singing, and they'd be like, oh, okay, you're that guy that had that song. Then they would know.
Starting point is 00:55:29 Then they might get it. Okay, so you're standing by this. Yes. You're sticking in it. Okay, I just wanted to see if his position would change since you were here. Gotcha. I mean, nice guy. Hey, respect.
Starting point is 00:55:38 But not top 25. I respect that. But you are top 25. Yes. Is there a chance, though, he's top 25, though, just not ranked more than you? No. Oh, so he's not even. I'm not even top 25 still.
Starting point is 00:55:47 No. No. He's still got a little way to go. What's it going to take? I don't know. I mean, he just has to get there. Another song, another dance. Another song, another dance, another viral hit. I mean, fancy like was, what, six months ago, people forgot about it. Oh, wow. Like you always say, you come and go. Those songs, they come and go. People, you got to have the next one. That's the pressure on musicians. They have a great hit. And it's like, all right, where's your next one?
Starting point is 00:56:11 He's letting you know the pressure of musicians in case you didn't know longer. Yeah, because he knows. Like you haven't been in the town writing songs for the last 15 years or so. Okay, lunchbox, thank you. You're welcome. How long have you been in Nashville? 17 years 17 and did you ever get to a point where you go you know what I think I'm destined to be a songwriter and maybe I'm not going to be the artist that I thought I could have been when I moved to town
Starting point is 00:56:33 yeah yeah I did but I mean you know I asked any writer in town I mean that's a far-fetched dream in itself you know I mean it's hard to get outside cuts it's hard to get artists to cut your songs but there was a point where that was that was our only hope we just really hoped that
Starting point is 00:56:53 would happen. I saw on Instagram you got a flat and you changed the tire in nine minutes. Yeah, buddy. That almost seems like pit crew speed. It's crazy. So where'd you get the flat? Where were we? I don't remember. In town you just pulled over
Starting point is 00:57:09 and... No, no, no. This was, we flew in somewhere for a radio show and we were running late. We had an hour to get from the airport to the venue and our rental car had a flat and I was like watch me work and I did it yeah they have a full spare yeah they had a they had a they had a real oh it was a big donut yeah in the back yeah that you know came down from the the van we had to figure all that out are you pretty good with cars
Starting point is 00:57:39 in general no oh you're not no not at all I mean I I learned to like change light bulbs and stuff on our our old Honda but I love a flat tire man that's a great challenge You love a flat tire. I don't love having a flat tire, but I enjoy changing it. Yeah. It's a moment to be manly, you know. I'd like to ask you a deeply personal question, if you're okay with that. From the flat to just deep, let's go.
Starting point is 00:58:02 Yeah, I warmed you up with the flat. Oh, okay. Because, you know, with that, there's some adversity, and, you know, you had to hit you conquered it. But the deepest, most personal question I could ask, you're a grocery bill. You have six kids. Yeah. I got to imagine. That's pretty stupid.
Starting point is 00:58:19 deep. It's insane. For eight human beings. Yeah. Like what are the staples at the grocery store? Do you just go buy, like, I'll just take all the meat? Is there like meat day? Like, what are we doing here? We do a lot of that rotisserie chicken.
Starting point is 00:58:35 That's helpful. We do tons of cereal. We do like six gallons of milk a week. We make french toast. It's like 20 eggs. I mean, it is, you know, and my son's, you know, my oldest son is 14, and a homeboy, y'all, it's like, it's four peanut butter sandwiches right before he goes to bed every night. I'm talking about like half a loaf of bread and half a thing of jiff. And then it'll just go to bed, you know, and then when he wakes up, he's ready to go again.
Starting point is 00:59:13 It's insane. Was that you, though? Oh, yeah, yeah. I mean, as a teenager, I mean, I could just take it. Pizas and, you know, yeah, I can eat a lot. I want to play a couple clips here. This is Life With You. This is from Walker's new album.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Country Stuff, the album. Here is Life With You. So that songs for your wife, obviously. Yeah, baby. Thanks for playing that. Which song did she say? Because I don't think... She said Life With You.
Starting point is 01:00:05 That's her favorite. Yeah, she loves that song. And, yeah, that's just, you know, we date in high school and, oh, slow ride down, old shell road. So you guys dated in high school and got married after how long? Oh, so we dated when I was a junior and then we didn't get married until after college. So you dated for six years? A lot of years. Yeah, six, seven years. And we had a tough year, you know, right after college, we had like a 10, 10-month break.
Starting point is 01:00:37 took a hiatus and then met back up at a friend's wedding, hooked it back up, and got engaged. What's been the key to a successful marriage? Oh, my Lord. Just a lot of forgiveness and a lot of mercy. And having kids is fun too, you know. Having kids or mate? Yeah, making kids, it's helpful to me in a marriage, you know. But yeah, man, I'm not the marital advice guy.
Starting point is 01:01:11 I mean, we're blessed. We've had some tough times, and we've had a lot of good times, and we've had a lot of good times, and we're still together. One of my favorite songwriters and one of my favorite singers is Lori McKenna, who anytime she's in town, we have her on the show. Yeah. And this is Briefcase featuring Lori McKenna, and you two wrote this song together, too. Yeah. Here you go. Here's a clip.
Starting point is 01:01:35 Like him, and I talk, like him and I try to make my wife laugh When she's mad, because I love my job Like, and now I get it there It's a juggling act between you feeding the kids You're feeding the dreams we chase I guess the kid's on Doesn't fall too far From a briefcase
Starting point is 01:02:00 It's an emotional song right there Yeah Yeah, talk to me about writing that song And I would imagine you go into some pretty emotional Deep places while writing it Yeah, yeah, Lori McKenna. I mean, you know, she just kind of brings that out when you write with her. She's such an honest, authentic person. And my dad was sick when we wrote that. He was on my mind. And I was traveling back and forth from Mobile a lot to hang with him in hospice.
Starting point is 01:02:28 And we were just talking about dads. And, you know, we were being very honest. You know, I was being really honest about how I resented my dad growing up. I wasn't that great of a kid and didn't have a lot of respect for him. But as I grew older and had kids of my own, I gosh, I just began to understand him more and more. And I was able to forgive him for some things and vice versa. And we said, I love you out loud many times before he died. And he got to hear that song. He didn't know who I was, you know, when I played it for him.
Starting point is 01:03:01 But he said, that's a pretty song. And so, yeah, man, Lori, we had a... a magical day writing that song. It was very therapeutic. Walker Hayes is with us. His record is out. It's, you know, 13 songs. It's not, he's not the fancy, and not only the fancy light guy. Like, you're a deep, deep guy. Like, you write with, you know, a lot of feeling that you can feel, like, as the listener. You know, sometimes, you know, song owners write songs, and they put a lot heart into it, but you don't really feel it back from them. With your songs, I get that a lot. I think that's what drew me to you before I even knew you.
Starting point is 01:03:37 was, you know, how vulnerable and, you know, kind of the feelings from yourself that you put into songs. Well, thanks for saying that. I, you know, I think vulnerability is kind of one of my coping mechanisms. I enjoy just kind of telling you right off the bat what I'm not good at and what I'm okay at. And then that way we can just move on and I don't have got to pretend anymore. What are you, final question, what are you doing to keep your abs as sharp as they are? because I commented on your Instagram. I mean, I saw you. I recognized a lot of hard work going there.
Starting point is 01:04:12 What's happening here? A lot of sit-ups, a lot of lettuce. What's going on? A lot of lettuce? Not a lot of lettuce. Man, I just, I love to work out. I love the gym is a, I look forward to that time, you know, every day. I listen to music.
Starting point is 01:04:28 I write songs, text myself. And I just, I like that hour of each day. And I do my share of, uh, flutter kicks. No sugar? There's bicycles. No, I eat sugar. I mean, I love food, bro.
Starting point is 01:04:43 I mean, I eat it all. I'm not on like a diet or anything. And I hate vegetables. This is not good for other people to hear it because I think. I don't like them. This is just Walker's body, Bobby. I think so. I think, you know, he works hard for it and he's also been blessed with a little bit of genetic.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Well, I'm tall. Yeah. You know. Lucky you. How tall are you, 6-2? I'm 6-3. Ooh, I just insulted you. No, you didn't.
Starting point is 01:05:08 I'm not having a height contest. Are you six, three shoes off? Lunchbox can win that too. Huh? Shoes off? I think so. Do we want to, we should measure? No, I'm good.
Starting point is 01:05:17 Keep shoes on. I mean, I'm close to 6'1, so. Bobby gives himself his shoe hype. Oh, so is you're 6'1 with shoes? With the right shoes. Not even all shoes. Well, most of your life, you're wearing shoes. Right.
Starting point is 01:05:29 Most of my life. You're 6'1. I'm 6'1, yes. All right, country stuff the album from Walker Hayes out today. Stream the crap out of it. I'm say download. but do people still do iTunes? They do.
Starting point is 01:05:39 I guess some. They do. But whatever, consume it. Buy the CD. Go get it. Does that still happen? Yeah. People still do should do.
Starting point is 01:05:46 Yeah. People do still want a CD. All right, there is. Some people want vinyl now. I guess vinyl. Now that I understand. I like vinyl. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:52 Because that's old. You have a record player? Yeah, I got a couple. I don't do that yet. Where do you get a record player? From the store? Walmart even has them. Has a record player?
Starting point is 01:06:00 Yeah. Target. With a needle? Urban Outfitters. Wow. You can go like Forever 21 and get like a black one. Yeah. with like chains on it?
Starting point is 01:06:08 So weird, man. Bringing it back. All right, Walker Hayes. Also, the, most, I was going to promote the tour, but most of the dates are selling out. Yeah. Do you even need promotion for the tour? Yeah, I mean, I think there's a couple more dates. The fancy-like tour, go to walkerhays.com.
Starting point is 01:06:22 He promises he will play fancy-like, probably. Yeah, yeah. We might. Keep him wondering. All right, Walker, everybody. Good to talk to you, buddy. Thank you. Walker.
Starting point is 01:06:30 Bye, Walker. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Maddie Barber is a junior at Born Champion High School. She earned $30,500 at the Kendall County Junior Livestock Show after she showed several swine. She is donating all of that money $30,000 to St. Jude, where she was treated for brain cancer four years ago.
Starting point is 01:06:57 She was diagnosed with, well, I'm going to struggle saying this. Medulla Blastoma in 2017 and has been cancer-free since 2018. She's that she wants to help future patients get treatment and to be able to pursue activities they enjoy. I mean, you're saying too changes lives, man, what's why we're so involved in it? But from going to brain cancer to showing swine and winning $30,000? Who knew you could win $30,000? Showing swine. Hey, Maddie, great job.

If you have the mindset where if you eat healthy all day, you feel like, ah, if I've had good food all day, let me have a little sweet at night.
Starting point is 01:11:11 I think I'm guilty of doing that. A new survey finds Americans believe eating healthy during the day gives them permission to overindulge in unhealthy food at night. The study also found people usually feel in need to hide their sweets and are also getting good at hiding their treats, too. Experts say, say snacking doesn't have to be something you're ashamed of. I don't think we hide our snacks in the house
Starting point is 01:11:32 unless I just don't know about it. I mean, she could hide stuff for me because I do eat everything all at once. So now that I talk about it, I bet she's hiding stuff. Maybe. I do love that last line. Let's read the last line that you just said. Snacking doesn't have to be something you're ashamed of. There you go.
Starting point is 01:11:47 It does if it's like ice cream and cookies all the time. I love that. No, no shame. For me there is because I can't stop. I love sugar. Sugar in the morning, sugar in the evening. Sugarettes up bird hot. I would eat sugar all the food.
Starting point is 01:11:57 the time. And I start to be a shame not that I'm eating sugar, but that I can't stop eating it and I love it so much. And I, and sugar's probably going to be what kills me. Wow, we just went there. Well, we will. I think sugars, we're going to look back in 20 years and go, wow, how were Americans or people eating so much sugar without there being rules about it? It's going to be like cigarettes. Yeah. For people who are just smoking cigarettes like crazy. I made a list of my favorite sugary things. Ready? Oh, good. I love sugar. I love candy. I love. I could eat it all day all the time. I have the sweetest of teeth. Can I ask you one thing?
Starting point is 01:12:27 Do you think that you're obsessed with sugar so much because you restrict the sugar? No. You don't think restriction causes you the like obsession? No. Okay. Because even when I'm not restricting it and I'm full out, I'll go full out. I just love it. I love everything sugar all the time.
Starting point is 01:12:43 Here's my list. Number three, sugary cereal. Love sugary cereal. It doesn't matter. I love cinnamon toast crunch. I love chocolate covered checks. I love Lucky Charms. As long as there's not peanut butter or raisins, like count me in for sugary cereal, all of it.
Starting point is 01:12:57 That's my number three favorite sugary. Number two, dessert at a restaurant. No matter what. All of them. Wow. If I'm in a restaurant and there's dessert, as long as there's not peanut butter on it, let's go. Ice cream, I'll take it. Cake, I'll take it.
Starting point is 01:13:11 Sugary, you make it. You let's go. You make it, he'll take it. Okay. So number three is sugary cereal. Number two is desserts at a restaurant. And number one is cheesecake. I could have dessert every meal.
Starting point is 01:13:23 I can wake up have breakfast and have dessert for breakfast. Even after a sugary cereal. I think it's because it didn't get a lot of sugar as a kid. I think probably I'd save up and buy some candy at the store. Otherwise, we didn't have a bunch of sweets at the house. And not because we were a healthy family. We just didn't spend money on sugar and things. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:44 That wasn't. I love sugar. I could just put a spoonful of sugar on anything. It's like mustard. I love mustard. If they can make some mustard sugar hybrid, I would be in heaven. Disgusting. Why don't you try that?
Starting point is 01:13:58 Put a spoonful of sugar in the mustard. I'm sure there's so much sugar and mustard ketchup anyway. I guess it's like honey mustard. Yeah, but there's sugar and honey. But there's so much sugar in our condiments anyway that we don't think about because they're not really sweet to us, but they put a lot of sugar to make it taste just better generally.
Starting point is 01:14:15 Here's another one. Eating anything, healthy food, junk food, anything, causes opioid release in the brain. The worst you eat junk food, fast food, the more pleasure you fill in your brain quickly. Boom, that opioid releases. The healthier you eat, the less pleasure, pleasure, but bottom line, you're going to get a rush with any food, which is why even a healthy snack is to pick me up.
Starting point is 01:14:34 Almonds have made my stomach so much better as a snack. I will grab a handful of almonds. I would rather have a handful of cinnamon toast crunch. You were doing that for a little bit, though. Well, somebody sent me a box of cinnamon toast crunch. And if I put them beside each other, I went to that box of cereal, I would say nine times out of ten, but no, ten times out of ten. But almonds have really helped my stomach. That's good. I think I've been lacking fiber. Using a PET scan, researchers found that one of the most significant. levels of endorphins released are when people ate pizza, potato chips, and candy bars. Oh, yes. I love a candy bar. What's it?
Starting point is 01:15:04 Best candy bar. Here we go. Let's go. I love a Kit Kat. Yep. Just a chocolate wafer, pound for pound. There's nothing bad about it. I love a Twix.
Starting point is 01:15:12 That's what I was going to say. That was my two. But those two are so similar to each other. Maybe the caramel's a bit different. A Kit Kat, a Twix. A Hershey is just solid. Just a regular Hershey. It's just solid.
Starting point is 01:15:24 You forget how good it is when you just have some. It's just there. for you. It's like an uncle you can depend on. Right? You don't always go man, this uncle I depend on is there for me but when you need him and he's there, you're like man, this is the guy, he's the best. What about the Hershey with almonds? I don't like almonds.
Starting point is 01:15:39 I don't like almonds. I don't like almonds. I don't like candy. You just said how good almonds are for you. But it's like Eminem with peanuts. Yes, delicious. I like them. They're fine. But give me Eminem's just straight chocolate. But I'm going to put a Snickers at three. Because here's the thing. Sometimes I'm not satisfied.
Starting point is 01:15:55 And then I'll have a Snickers. You're satisfied. And then Snickers really satisfies. It does not satisfy me. It's a slogan, Amy. But that's true, though. But it's true, yeah. Butterfinger.
Starting point is 01:16:06 No. That's peanut butter, though. No, no, no, no. Solid. Yeah, I can't do peanut butter. But Reese's thing is not a candy bar, right? A buttercup? A Reese's cup.
Starting point is 01:16:14 You know, if it's in the section at the gas station, I think it's a candy bar. Okay, well, Reese's cups all the way. And I hate peanut butter, but I can do a Reese's cup. I can't do a butterfinger. I think that Reese's cup is so chocolatey, So chocolate infused, even that peanut butter doesn't taste so peanut buttery, that I'm actually okay with that. I think that you like probably the powdered sugar feel.
Starting point is 01:16:34 Oh, I love sugar powder. I love sugar liquid. I just love sugar. I love it so much. All right, easy trivia. It's the easiest trivia game and all the land. Eddie has put his tiara on and he is the champion. Man, I don't know how much longer I'm going to have this thing, though,
Starting point is 01:16:52 because I'm not doing well, right? Well, you have three wins and everybody else has one. Oh, I'm fine then. play to five. Eddie is a two-time Tiaro winning champion. Let's go. Come on, guys. Let's go. You're the villain in this. Gosh, everyone hates me. You're the villain in this. Nothing but annoying. All right, this is the easiest trivia game anywhere. Anywhere.
Starting point is 01:17:13 Survive as long as you can. Ready, everybody? Remember, the one thing you don't want to hear is this. You've been boo. That means you missed it. Okay, here we go. Starting point is 01:24:08 King Arthur. Yeah. And the knights of the round table. Okay. Was that in Superwoman? Or what is it? Wonder Woman? Was it?
Starting point is 01:24:14 I don't know what she was talking about. What's a superhero thing? I didn't either. Okay, guys. I hold my breath so much during this game. Come on, Amy. You need to remind us to breathe. Amy, look at me.

Starting point is 01:25:22 Okay And you didn't look at me Good job dude Amy What number doesn't have its own Roman numeral What What number doesn't have its own Roman numeral Oh
Starting point is 01:25:38 Yeah, that was intense. I'm a headache. Which one's woke up when she did that. I have a headache, and I'm not breathing very well. But like zero? Is that your answer? Yeah. That's correct.
Starting point is 01:25:55 Wow. Eddie. Come on. What Nickelodeon cartoon has characters Phil, Chuckie, Tommy, and Lull? Oh. Is Chuckie a rug rat? He's a rug rat. Give me your answer?
Starting point is 01:26:06 Yes, yes, Rugrats. Correct. Amy, Huey, Dewey and Louie. are the names of the nephews to which cartoon? Huey Dewey and Louie. Huey Dewey and Louie are the nephews to like Donald Duck or something? Okay. Wow.
Starting point is 01:26:23 Gosh. Eddie, what do bees collect and use to create honey? Oh, that's a trick question. I almost said honey. What do bees collect and use to create honey? What do you mean they collect? What do you mean? What do bees collect?
Starting point is 01:26:37 What do you mean? What do bees collect? What do you mean? What do bees collect and use to create honey? honey. Oh, pollen. Oh, see, oh, now you guys want to talk about playing it. That one just came up. That was playing it. That was playing. They make honey. You say it's pollen? Is it not pollen? You've been... What? It's not pollen? It's not. I thought it's fallen. It's pollen. What is it? What is it? What is they collect?
Starting point is 01:27:04 What do they collect? Hold on. The answer is nectar on the sheet, but Mike's saying, they're saying both. Oh, thank good. Oh, goodness. Okay. Eddie's still in. Amy, hyperventilated again. Do they, do they collect the nectar and do something else with the bottom? I don't know. You're both still in. Amy, we're getting down to it here. Helsinki is the capital of what country? Helsinki is the capital of what country? I'm going to take it. I've never been there. To this country? Helsinki. I don't know. Jeez, Louise. It's just so annoying. I'm so close to winning. And I get Helsinki.
Starting point is 01:27:47 They get it harder because we're running out of questions. Helsinki. Helsinki. Incorrect. Cupid bow. The answer is Finland. That's a good guess, though, Amy. Okay, here we go.
Starting point is 01:27:58 Last question. Eddie, if you get this, you win. If you miss it, we'll go sudden death. Finland. Focus. How many sides does anonagon have? What? I've never heard of anonagon.
Starting point is 01:28:09 Octagon is 8. Nannagon's got to be nine What's nine? Yeah, give me nine Nonagon Nine Nonagon is nine Wow!
Starting point is 01:28:23 Yeah, but isn't that kind of obvious? Nine? Okay, okay. Is it a trick question though, Amy? Nine and a question? I didn't think it was obvious. Amy, what if it was 19? Look, the very final question on a piece of paper was what? Wow. Dude, that was a battle.
Starting point is 01:28:38 That was a battle. Loved it. Loved it. Eddie with four wins. Did you know Helsinki? No. What was it? Scotland?
Starting point is 01:28:45 Finland. No clue. Eddie with four wins. One win away. Wow. Nice job, Eddie. It's just me and Eddie clapping. Everybody else is mad.
Starting point is 01:28:53 They all hate me, man. Congratulations, Eddie. Thank you, dude. This story comes us from Garden City, Michigan. A man walked into a bank, presented a note, said, Give me all the money, big bills, or someone's going to die. So he got the money and left. Thought he got off Scott Free.
Starting point is 01:29:11 He's like, now I've got to get rid of the car. So he put it for sale on Craigslist. Only problem is cops had a picture of it. Saw it on Craigslist. Set up a meeting, hey, we want to buy your car. Got him. Boom, got him. Got him.
Starting point is 01:29:23 Yeah, it's a tough decision. Do you, like, burn the car? Do you just leave it in a field somewhere? You've got to bury it or something. Barry it's tough. That's tough, though. I love how you guys always think of what you should do. I try to get away with every crime.
Starting point is 01:29:37 Oh, yeah, water. Yeah, into the water. Sink it. Oh, yeah. You just have to make sure it's not drivable anymore. So they don't get one of those car facts on it, you know? And they go, that's what happened. All right, good job.
Starting point is 01:29:48 I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead Story of the Day. A couple things I wanted to mention. The U.S. is to now let teens drive big rigs in a test program to help ease the supply chain shortage. So, and I say teens, 18 to 19-year-olds. Yeah. I have no problem with this. I'm going to tell you why.
Starting point is 01:30:08 When they thought they were a teen out, there you think 16. That's the clickbait of the story. And yes, 18 and 19 year olds, they're not as responsible as a 25 year old. Sure. But you're an adult at 18. We have decided in America that you are an adult. I mean, you can go to war. You can vote. You can go to war. You can buy cigarettes. Well, in some states are looked in that. Buy lottery tickets, but we have decided 18 is the legal age to be an adult. It's weird to me that you can't buy alcohol until 21, only because we should just have a date where you're an adult. You get to make big kid decisions at 18 years old. That being said,
Starting point is 01:30:39 can't do this and you can't drive a truck unless you pass the test. So if you're 18 and you show that you can learn what you're supposed to learn and you can drive the truck like you're supposed to drive the truck, why would we not let an adult drive a big rig? Yeah. As someone who has driven the big rig myself, yes, it is stressful, but it's not something that a mature 18 year old couldn't handle. I did one of those tests in high school. Can't remember exactly what it was, but something our school offered. And my result was that I should operate heavy machinery. So I could have come out and driven trucks if need be and help the economy. I'd had no problem with it.
Starting point is 01:31:20 You'd just struggle with the test a little bit. Why? Your test-taking skills aren't you... Well, I took a test to give me this result. No, no, no, I know. But I think you've said it before. You did not do good on standard tests. Correct.
Starting point is 01:31:33 And there's a lot of that with this. Yeah. You would have done fine. You've just taken you a while to get to it. It's a tough test. Yeah. This is from ABC. Hey Mike, your dad was a truck driver, right?
Starting point is 01:31:42 He still is, yeah, over 30 years. And did you ever think you drive a truck? That was always my backup plan. He taught me how to drive when I was a kid, and I was like, if I ever need something to fall back on, I'm going to drive a truck. I have such a respect for truck drivers, especially after doing it and having to see what they deal with every day,
Starting point is 01:31:56 every minute with idiots on the road, who just does not respect. First of all, how big and how deadly that machine is they're driving. For them. Not for the driver. Because they'll probably be okay if there's an accident. You know who's not going to be okay? the little Honda Civic that's being an idiot around the truck.
Starting point is 01:32:12 And secondly, just like the infrastructure of America depends on truck drivers. And we're seeing it a little bit now because there is a shortage. But it's a tough job. It's a very needed job. Like if you're listening right now, you're a truck driver, you have all my respect. You always had it. But especially after doing it and having to take the test, like you have, you have it. Mike, would you be okay with 18-year-olds driving trucks?
Starting point is 01:32:33 Yeah, definitely. Because? I mean, I think I could have done it at 18. Yeah. And I think I could have. too. Oh, and I could have too. We'll come back to that tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:32:43 We'll see that tomorrow's show. Also, I did want to mention this. Sometimes Eddie will give me some behind the scenes. And he was telling me what Lunchbox looks at during the show. Well, he sits right next to me. So I just kind of glance over. And he had a picture of some girl in a bikini. No way.
Starting point is 01:32:59 No, I'm dead serious. And she's coming out of a pool. And he didn't have it up for 10 seconds. I looked for like five minutes, two different times. And I'm like, this girl's still up. and he's scrolling up and down, up and down. Eddie, you're such a hater. Let's let Lunchbox defend himself or maybe he doesn't want to.
Starting point is 01:33:15 Lunchbox Eddie says you're scrolling up and down looking at some girl for all show long. I don't know about all show long. There was a news story and they happened to post the pictures of her in a bikini in the news story. And so I was like, heck, I'll look at that and clicked on her Instagram to see if they got any more bikini picks they wanted to show me. And, I mean, I was reading up for you. I did, of course. Well, I knew you guys wouldn't believe me, so I took a picture. What news story, though?
Starting point is 01:33:41 Is it the girl who says she's too hot to date? No, she's an ex-UFC fighter, and he was talking about her and her husband putting out certain things on a... They created a... How do I describe it? A channel. A channel, yeah, on Only fans. And I was like, oh. And so I just clicked on the news article because I watched her fight.
Starting point is 01:34:00 And then they had the pictures of her in a bikini. So they put him in the article, so I'd look at it. And I looked at it. I'm doing research. A lot of real. research on that picture. Yeah. And then Eddie, I mean, you took a picture and you kept it on your phone, huh?
Starting point is 01:34:12 I kind of acted like I... No. No, the picture is a... Oh, let me play lunchbox. Here, I can have this on my phone. Oh, yeah. So now if you're... And then you do this segment.
Starting point is 01:34:22 So if your wife asks, you're like, no, no, no. I was doing research for the show. The show. There is that story about the woman, though, that says she can't get a date because she's too hot. Have you guys seen this story? No. It's been out for a couple days.
Starting point is 01:34:34 I just haven't... I don't know if it's... I haven't been interested to talk about it. it or if I just feel like she's full of crap. Playboy model Elizabeth Marie Chevaler says she's desperate for a boyfriend but has also been struggling to find love because men find her beauty and career intimidating.
Starting point is 01:34:49 She said, I've been told that I'm intimidated to guys because I'm tall. I'm 5'10 and I'm beautiful and have a very intense personality. Sounds like she's annoying. Yeah. But, okay. She said she's been on dates where guys just can't speak to her.
Starting point is 01:35:01 That's tough. She said dating is hard, guys are scared because she is so beautiful. The model says her beauty has been a blessing. and a curse throughout her life as people often make snap decisions. I agree with that part of it. But to come out and say, I just can't get a date because I'm so beautiful. I know.
Starting point is 01:35:18 That's a personality flaw just to come out and say that in the news. If she claims herself, she has an intense personality, I bet she's really annoying. Wow. Lunchbox, do you have thoughts? He just looked her up. He's scrolling up and down on her right now. I am scrolling up and down. And the first picture that pops up, her lips look terrible, her eyes look terrible, and the makeup
Starting point is 01:35:36 looks bad. Her body, yeah. It's the fake lip injection look. I do not like it. No, I don't like that either. It's terrible to look at. But as you scroll down, I mean, I can see why people are intimidated. Okay, okay, okay. Hey, speaking of... Amy, have you seen her?
Starting point is 01:35:53 No, I haven't. I'm good. Have you all listened to that podcast with Holly and talking about Hugh Hefner? No. That was interesting. I really listen to sports podcast and that's about it. I know. Well, someone, one of my friends posted about this podcast, so I went and I look it up and listened to it and it's kind of
Starting point is 01:36:08 it was crazy how you remember her from girls next door and you kind of thought this was her life and just living her best life and really it was like prison for her like it's very emotionally toxic all the things and you didn't realize how she was manipulated by him at a young age
Starting point is 01:36:25 I don't know that I'm going to listen to that one it was fascinating not gonna lie I think you'd be interested in it I think you're drawn to the dark stuff though murders drug running cartel. Like you're just drawn to that. Okay. Probably.
Starting point is 01:36:41 Yeah, yeah, yeah. For me, I'm not. It was dark. It's heavy. Like, I feel, it felt bad. You just see her in a different light and you feel bad for her because she said that just so many people, even when they hear her story, and you can tell she's well versed in it. She's done a lot of therapy and work to get through it. But she's, that they just immediately
Starting point is 01:36:57 judge her. Well, it was your choice. You went in there and you, since you took your clothes off to make money, then you're, I don't respect anything you're saying. And she's actually very intelligent and you feel. bad for her. Yeah, I believe her. Yeah. I just would not choose to listen to that podcast. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I get it. I get it. I get it. Okay, you guys have a good day. Good weekend. We'll see you Monday. Bye, everybody. Good.
