I want to start with this,
Starting point is 00:02:24 because Amy's known to spoil movies accidentally. Yes. No malice in your heart. No. No intention of ruining a movie for someone. It's happened maybe twice. No. Oh, twice? You don't even realize when it happens sometimes. Over 10 times. You spoil all kinds of stuff. Ten times. So, well, hey, 16 years. Less than one a year. Yeah. So what's happened though recently? A listener called in mad at me and claiming that I need to be punished because now we have a punishment.
Starting point is 00:02:55 If you spoil a show or a movie, you get punished. Yeah. And he said, I spoiled your children's book. What did you say? Because it's Stanley's The Dog, First Day of School. And obviously it's about all these dogs. And I mentioned how there was a cat. And he's like, I didn't know that yet.
Starting point is 00:03:13 I didn't know. He hadn't gotten that far in the book. Are you serious? That's funny. He didn't know that there was a cat. And he said that I spoiled it. How do I feel about this? I don't feel any way about it other than it's not a spoiler.
Starting point is 00:03:30 He's an idiot, you think? I don't want to say that. Well, Bones, I am looking at the cover of the book now, and there is no cat on the cover of the book. The cat does come out of nowhere in the book. You don't know much about the cat of the cat's story. And then it's like, wow, cat's kind of pivotal.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Mm-hmm. Is that a spoiler too? I don't know. I'm going to stop talking. What do you think, Lunchbox, did Amy spoil the book? Because if so, she has to be punished. No. No. She's spoiled. No. I'm asking, because again, this will come back on you, so remember what you're saying
Starting point is 00:03:58 here. Do you think legitimately that Amy spoiled my children's book? No, it's so stupid. She named a character in the book. Who cares? Like a lot of people we say characters and TV shows that you haven't seen yet, but obviously there's going to be more than one character in the book or TV show. Now, if I say what the cat's part is in the book, that would be spoiling.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Yes. Eddie? No. Dude, it's a children's book. How many pages is this thing? 40? She's spoiled? Oh, way less than that.
Starting point is 00:04:26 I was like 40. 20? Like 20. I have not. My kids have read it. I have not read it. I mean, I don't care that you haven't read it. I mean, it's a children's book, guys.
Starting point is 00:04:35 It's a children's book. Okay. Okay, then you're in the clear The cat, big part of the book though But also, you know, here's the story Stanley, he's got an owner, big head Bobby, who's me And Stanley's first day at school But he's nervous about the first day at school
Starting point is 00:04:47 Because he doesn't know if he's gonna fit in And you're right, dogs actually represent humans But I use Stanley as like a warm figure Who's in a real dog anyway And so Stanley's nervous about all these other dogs And they don't treat him great, honestly And... Don't ruin that
Starting point is 00:05:00 Okay, I'll stop there Spoiler! You have to punish yourself But I wonder too if I read them read the book. I thought about reading the book in a video, like put it on Instagram. The whole thing is like, is that a spoiler? And everybody's like, no. Because kids want to read the book 500 times. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:13 I haven't said shit I'll read it on the air. I'm like, go for it. Because kids read a book 500 times. Over and over and over and over. That's true. And they want the same book. Same book. Over and over and over. Lunchbox hates the book.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I feel just like, goodness. He's got two at this point. He hates it. Okay. You're cool. You're in the clear. For a second, for a second, though, I was starting to shift on it. But you're right.
Starting point is 00:05:37 You didn't say what happened with the cat. We're good, right? Morgan, why are you smiling? Spoiler? No, it's not a spoiler at all. I'm smiling because it's so stupid. Okay, it is. Okay, let's get started with the show,
Starting point is 00:05:48 which, by the way, if you want to order Stanley the dog, the first day of school, get it wherever you go books. Amazon, well, that's all I know. Where else do you get books? Bookstores down the road? Yeah, bookstores. Yeah, there you go. On the Bobby Bones show now.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Luke Brian. What's up, buddy? What's up? I have a couple questions that immediately come to mind. Had a friend text me, and she said, hey, she lives in a small town in Arkansas, and I won't say where, in case it's like a secret spot of yours. And she said, Luke Bryant just flew in and is going fishing in some lake here.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Is there any chance Luke just flew in and is fishing? And I said, there's a good chance because Luke does a lot of fishing. I said, I don't know where he went today. Did you fly into Arkansas just to fish recently? Yes, I did. I was there yesterday. Okay, I thought it may have been you, but why did you go up to Northwest Arkansas to fish? So I left out of Vegas and I took a helicopter across the country to see the country from a helicopter.
Starting point is 00:06:41 And we stopped in trout fishing destinations. And then our last stop was the White River in Arkansas yesterday. And we had a great time. It was awesome. A helicopter all the way across the country? Is that fast or slow? It's perfect because I think it was about 12 hours of total flight, but we busted it up over four days. I mean, the coolest part was we were flying over herds of wild horses, and it was like the most, one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:07:12 And you don't get nervous to fly in it. I get nervous to fly in an airplane, much less a helicopter, but do you no nerves at all? I just awesome. The one that I'm in is the safest you can have, and my pilot is, I mean, he's a 21-year retired Apache pilot. He flew in Afghanistan for 21 years, and, you know, it's just all about being as safe as you can be. But it's been, it's pretty amazing when you see the changes of the landscape. At one point, Bobby, we fished a river that was coming out of the side of a mountain, and we flew that river from northern Wyoming. We flew that river from Wyoming to Nebraska, one river.
Starting point is 00:07:59 And so you did this after leaving Vegas, so was it a residency show? And you're like, this is a trip I always wanted to make. So we got it organized. Let's go do it. Yeah, we did. I played my show Saturday in Vegas. And then Sunday morning, we left at 7 a.m. And flew up to Wyoming and flew through the Rockies.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I mean, it's spectacular. It was amazing. It's awesome. Luke Bryan is on with us right now. And my second question immediately is I look behind you. And there are, I mean, I counted 13 guitars just in what I can see in your video here. Why so many guitars in the house? Like, do every one of them have a different sound?
Starting point is 00:08:41 I don't understand. This is my songwriting room. And so when I have songwriters come over, first of all, I tell them don't bring a guitar. And then some of these songwriters that come in, they'll see a guitar that they've always wanted to play. And that'll be the one that they play for the day when they're writing. But over the years, being out on the road, you know, anytime you purchase a guitar, it's always a great investment. If you purchase a great guitar, so I have quite a few acoustics that I love. Well, you say, you tell people not to bring a guitar, but let's say you said, hey, Bobby can't wait to write a song with you.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Come over, and I get there, and I'm like, well, look, I'm left-handed. Where's your left-handed selection? Do you have those, or are you discriminatory toward people like myself? Well, you've got to give me a minute and we'll read, flip it upside down. You know the deal. Yeah, then you bust it. Well, the nut breaks because all the strings weren't. Anyway, anyway.
Starting point is 00:09:31 All right, Luke Bryan's on with us. We're going to get to this new song coming up in just a second. But I got a couple things I wanted to ask you about as far as things I've seen on the internet. And I was watching this clip of you with a baby. And I didn't have the sound on. I had no context. And I just thought you were singing with like a nephew or a niece or something because I didn't know. And then I further investigated.
Starting point is 00:09:49 And that wasn't the story. So how did you have a random baby in your arm while singing? So I was during all my friends' sake, I go out into the crowd, and I'm going through the crowd singing, you know, all my friends say we're rocking, life's good, and I see a woman holding her, her, I mean, it wasn't a baby, but it wasn't a toddler. It was like six months old range, you know, you know, holding its head up. Let me look like a baby to me, but what do I know? Anyway, I got you. Go ahead. It wasn't newborn, but yeah. So I'm like, oh, a baby, this is going to be, this is going to be amazing. I just grabbed the. baby and started singing and then to cut up with the mother, I just walked off from her and just kind of, you know, I guess, I guess maybe I'll have kidnapping charges filed against him. But anyway, I took him on stage and sang a little bit. It was a funny moment, you know, and when we, you know, through the craziness of Vegas, you know, when I, when the mother came and got the baby, you know, I was like at some point, you know, some point, this show is so crazy at some point I got a baby. And what was funny is my, my, my, my mother came and
Starting point is 00:10:56 My 14-year-old Bo, he's on Instagram, so he's always seeing what dad's up to, you know. And that night, Bo called me. He's like, Dad, did you adopt a baby? And I'm like, yeah, I'm bringing it home. He's going to be a great little brother. You're going to love him. Anyway, I let him off the hook. You know, you're not a guy, at least that I know of, and I've, you know, obviously seen you around town.
Starting point is 00:11:19 You've driven over to the house before. You're always in like a truck, like a normal, nice truck. I've never seen you like a crazy, fancy car. Did you ever have that stage where you bought some crazy car when you first started to, like, make big money or huge success? You know, the only, like, fast car I ever bought was when I heard about the Hellcat coming out, the Dodge, you know, the Dodge Hellcat. I knew a Dodge dealer, and I called him, and I pre-ordered two of them, and I gave one to my dad, who he still has it, and then I kept one, and I drove it. I probably drove it 10 or 15 times, and then somebody offered me a crazy price for it, so I sold it. But I've never been a – I've never been like a fast car kind of guy.
Starting point is 00:12:10 But anyway, but I'm not that kind of guy. I'm always like to just ease around in my truck and tear up my truck, not a fast car. As far as when you do songs with other artists, because I was listening to Jordan Davis by dirt a little bit ago, and Jordan's a close buddy of mine and was just talking to him about the song and how it's really changed his career. It's a massive song for him. And I'm sure that you get so many requests to collaborate with artists and beyond that you have to say no to because you only have so much time and capacity. But why that song with Jordan Davis, what about it made you go, I want to be on that one? Well, I think started collaborations five, six years ago to where I don't think there is a pop song out there that isn't a collaboration anymore.
Starting point is 00:12:58 But I think country has morphed into a little bit of that. But long story, when Jordan sent me the song, it just, you know, I've always told people, you get the question all the time, who do you want to collaborate with? than I have always said the song will dictate the collaboration. So when Jordan sent me the song, I really, the song spoke to me. Obviously, I mean, I've really been blessed and have gotten several farms through the years that I love to go take my boys hunting and fishing on. So when I heard the song, it just really spoke to me. And like I said, Jordan, Jordan is just a great, sweet soul down.
Starting point is 00:13:45 to earth and I just felt like it'd be fun to be a part of it. You know, I never wanted to, like, through all this, I never wanted, I wanted Jordan to have the credit. I didn't want to inadvertently come in and, like, take over the moment for Jordan. You know, I wanted it to be his baby, his deal, and it all worked out perfect. I mean, you know, he would call me many, many times throughout the life of the song going, man, you know, never had a song move this fast and all that. And I'm like, listen, you got to remember, I'm on a huge song with you.
Starting point is 00:14:22 So as an artist, no matter what, the main thing you can do is be on massive songs. I mean, anytime you're a part of a massive song, no matter how it happens, you better never take it for granted. So as much as Jordan was having fun with it, I was having as much fun as him. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. There was an old man trying to get off the bus in Philadelphia. Oh, Sonny, I don't know if I'm going to make it down the stairs.
Starting point is 00:14:55 When three boys jumped into action, they got his walker, helped him down the bus, and a bystander started filming it. He's like, man, those kids did that and no one noticed. So he walked up and paid each kid for helping the old man. Oh, somebody that just saw it went out and giving money. They gave money out of their own pocket. Yeah, good for him. He'd have to do that.
Starting point is 00:15:15 And here's a clip of him saying why he gave the money. Don't stop doing that, you hear me? Don't stop doing that. When you see somebody who needs help, always help him. And they're going to keep in the old. All right? Be safe. Oh, wow, little kids.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Oh, yeah, yeah, little kids. I didn't think they were like 20-year-olds. I'm talking little kids. And grandpa got off the bus okay. Yeah, it's good. Those little kids did that. because they wanted to help him. Also, then the guy went viral.
Starting point is 00:15:44 This guy went viral. Yeah, so he's probably making money off his video, huh? No, I was not saying that. That's a great story. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University, an affordable, private, non-profit Christian University based in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona.

Starting point is 00:18:36 And these are always very sensitive things that people get really mad at them. What happened? So we go to eat and I took my three kids and I took my wife and the two older kids sit down and the lady comes up. And so I guess she's a waitress, right? It's okay. Yeah. Yeah, I think so, right? A server.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Yeah, I didn't know. Maybe server. Go ahead. Server. And she goes, oh, hi guys. And she's talking to my two sons. And she goes, hey, after dinner, I got good news. I got candy and ice cream for you.
Starting point is 00:19:04 And I'm like, what? No, that's not how you start out the conversation at the table. You do not promise my kids candy and ice cream after the meal. Because guess what? All they said for the next 30 minutes is, I want candy. I want the ice cream. Where's the candy? Where's the ice cream?
Starting point is 00:19:21 Did they sit there and eat their meal? No, because you know what they wanted? The candy and ice cream. I want candy and ice cream now, too. It worked. But I was not. Who says I was going to give my kid candy and ice cream? cream that night. I didn't plan on buying
Starting point is 00:19:33 ice cream or getting them candy, but this lady just kept going, oh yeah, you almost done? I got your candy and ice cream. And I'm like, no, you can't come to a table and promise someone's kids candy and ice cream at the end of the meal. Okay, I do see where that would be difficult. Oh. I do
Starting point is 00:19:49 see where that would be difficult. Okay. So what kind of restaurant was it? It was a restaurant with like noodles. Let's just say. Like a chain. No, no, not a chain. Okay. It's got noodles. No, it's like, it's got noodles, it's got rice. It's like a Chinese restaurant?
Starting point is 00:20:06 Yeah. Okay. Okay. So you go to this place, you finish the meal, the ticket for three kids and two adults, 40 bucks or so? It's like 50 bucks. Okay. What do you tip?
Starting point is 00:20:16 I tip $5. Oh my gosh. 10%. That's brutal. Okay, so why? Because you made my life so difficult and you did something that you're not supposed to do. How is the service, though, like the real service with food? Oh, it's just fine.
Starting point is 00:20:31 She was nice. But the fact that you made my life so difficult and you promised my kids candy and ice cream, which you just can't promise other kids, hey, I'm going to give you candy and ice cream into the end of this. Boy. Well, some advice that I was given pretty recently is that I should judge people a little more on intention
Starting point is 00:20:51 more than what actually is happening. Because I think our intention was to actually be a good waitress and be there and be like, I'm going to provide for you. I don't think. she was really trying to drive you crazy. I understand. It's a bad move. It's a bad move.
Starting point is 00:21:03 A good waitress at the end. Surprise! You know what I mean? Don't promise it up front. But even then I wouldn't do that. I don't know. What if there is no, we're not doing sugar that night or...
Starting point is 00:21:14 I don't... That's what I'm saying, Amy, so you feel me. You're with me. It's two different things. It's two different things. I think her intention was to be like, oh, there are kids. I'm going to make them happy.
Starting point is 00:21:22 I'll make the table happy. It didn't hit. She shouldn't have done that. Service wasn't bad. But I think her intention was super positive of trying to be extra. But I don't think it deserved cutting half her tip off. Oh, Amy, you feel me though.
Starting point is 00:21:37 No, I understand what you're saying. And I understand what you're saying. I'm not taking a waiter. If a waiter came up to me, it's like, I'm going to give you ice cream of candy at the end of a meal. I'll be like, I don't want the meal. I want ice cream candy. Oh, you.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Thank you. Yeah, me. And then Caleb would be annoyed the whole meal because that's all I wanted. Yeah. So I get it, but I don't think it deserves cutting her money in half because I think she was trying to give excellent, excellent service. Amy? Yeah, I mean, she maybe just doesn't have kids or.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Obviously. Or this has worked for her in the past. And it's like, luckily, it's worked out. And she's ended up with a bear tip or something. And it just so happens that it was one of the, it ruined your life, I think you said. It ruined your life? I didn't say it ruined my life. I mean, it was a stressful dinner of just the kids the whole time.
Starting point is 00:22:20 Maybe sometimes the kids are better if they know ice creaming. That's what I was going to say. I mean, I would have used it to my advantage of being like, well, you're not going to get that ice cream unless you eat all your food. like she was being sweet wasn't she? Her intention was to be sweet loving extra yes So you cut it And you felt good about that
Starting point is 00:22:36 You felt good You punished her because Because she can't come to the table promising my kid something that I didn't say They could have Did you at least tell her that So she learned why you did Because if you cut her tip in half
Starting point is 00:22:48 And there's something you want her to take from it You should at least let her know that No I just put I put five on there And bailed out So Bones You think he should do $5 and then a note underneath, you should not have.
Starting point is 00:23:00 I think he should tip normally in this situation. Or I should flip the receipt over and write a whole article about how she shouldn't do that. But if really you're annoyed by something and you're tipping her less because of it, then at least she wouldn't feel like her service was bad. And I don't encourage you to do this, but I'm thinking if that is what you're going to do, she's just like, man, that's a cheap dude, that stinks. And I got less money. I wonder why.
Starting point is 00:23:20 But if you're like, hey, I don't do this. But if you were like, hey, man, it really was tough when you promised the kids candy and ice It made our dinner very difficult. I wouldn't encourage you to do that on the ticket. At least she would know why you were a jerk. I wasn't a jerk about it. I was nice about it. To tip her half, I feel like it's kind of a jerk mood.
Starting point is 00:23:41 How were you nice about it? You weren't nice at all. You didn't know. You took her lesson and said nothing. There was nothing nice about it. Yeah, but I didn't confront her. I didn't make her feel bad about it. I just said, hey, you know, it's kind of a lesson learned.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Now she knows. She doesn't know. That's my point. She doesn't know. She probably has an idea. She could probably see the fire in my eyes when she's promising Okay, now you're wanting her to read your mind. And I've learned in a relationship.
Starting point is 00:24:01 That's not, I can't expect for Caitlin to read my mind. In any relationship, anything, she doesn't even know you. That's all. You shouldn't have done it. I don't think you should have tipped her half. But you feel my pain. I feel the pain. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:24:11 No, no. You're on my team. I like it. There's nuance in this story. Okay, but I'd say no bad move. Eddie? I mean, it's fine. I mean, what she did was not a problem.
Starting point is 00:24:22 So the fact that he docked the tip, it's not good move. Bad move, Amy? Yeah, bad move. No. Amy, what happened with a tip of you? your place. I walked away with the, you know, not the customer copy, but the, there's the store copy. Oh, so you tipped her, wrote it, and you took that paper with you? So they took my credit card, so I paid for my meal. So you tipped us and lunchbox did. Right. And it, it wasn't for days later
Starting point is 00:24:44 that I found the receipt in my purse and realized I did that. So, like, now my question is, can I just go back and take the receipt with the tip and they run it and that per? Because all the info's on it, they know who the server was and whatnot. right? What I would do if that bothers you, because it's bothered me to go to Sonic and not tip, and I've gone back and look for the person the next day. What I would suggest you do is just take some cash.
Starting point is 00:25:08 Whatever, you're going to tip 20 bucks, and go back and ask for them, just give them cash. And you know the names that just say this is for a show and so. Hopefully they're working. But wait, you got a free meal. If you took the receipt? No, I ran the credit card. That part they have, but they just don't know,
Starting point is 00:25:21 did I tip 20%, 30%? If it bothers you. At this point, they've probably forgot about it. You tip 0%. Yeah, YouTube's zero. But they don't know. No, they do, zero. No, they know.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Zero. They know what they got, not zero. It was truly, that must happen because I can't be the only person that's walked off with both copies of the receipt. Maybe I never heard of that before. So maybe. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:42 But I would go back and say, hey, is Mark here? He was my waiter. Well, that's easy. And if he's not, be like, okay, can I leave this from Mark in an envelope? Oh, yeah, sure. You can leave for Mark.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Yeah, here, come here. They'll get it to them. When I was waiting tables, people would drop stuff off for me. Yeah, well, that's what I'm going to do. So it's easy. So lunchbox split his in half. Amy split her's in $100. Wow.
Starting point is 00:26:00 Who's the bad person here? No taking ice cream there. All right. So here is a janitor that works at a school, up on a little stage, singing out of nowhere, and people are just shocked at how good he is. So an elementary school janitor doing a mic check for an assembly
Starting point is 00:26:18 because he's just setting it up, gets on, and things don't stop believing. And the kids are really young. They're like kindergarten first graders. Just the small time girl. And then he walks off. He's like, all right, it works. Wow.
Starting point is 00:26:44 And he flips the buttons a little bit and he's like, all right, I'm done. Like he's, as he's walking with a mic, he bends down. He's like, all right, this is good. Dude. He's just singing loud so he can like test it at a, ah, and a talking. Amazing. And crushes it. So the question is, is he good or is it good because it's unexpected?
Starting point is 00:27:12 Right? Because he is in, he's just dressed to work at school. a big thing of keys hanging off his pockets and a hat, oversized, collared, shirt, and some blue jeans. So let's hear it again. Is it good, or is it good because it's just kind of random because it's somebody who works at a school that you don't know as a good singer. All right, thoughts, Amy?
Starting point is 00:27:40 Good. It's good. Eddie? Yeah, whether he's a janitor or not, he's really, really good. Watchbox. He's good because he's a janitor. If you told me that that guy was trying to, like, trying out for Idol, he wouldn't even make it to the next round. I don't know that that's true.
Starting point is 00:27:52 Let me close my eyes. And okay, he comes that to me. Hey, man, I want to be a singer. Well, all right, buddy. Let me mentor you. Sing a little something for me. Go. Just the small time to go.
Starting point is 00:28:02 Oh, God. I heard much worse on Idol. They got farther. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And, you know, he didn't, like, warm up or anything either, and he's still really good.
Starting point is 00:28:14 No, dude, he sounds like the journey guy. And you can tell it wasn't set up because the person recording goes, oh, God. Yeah. They didn't expect that to happen. So they just happened to be filming. Okay, hold on. Go ahead. So they just happened to be filming him setting up the mic because they had no idea he was going to sing.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Maybe there was a mom there and they were about to start the assembly. Right. But when they start the assembly, the kids are going to be out on stage or everything. They're not going to be setting it up. You're not going to be setting it up. How many times do you guys go to a concert? Maybe they're about to walk out from the side and he went to fix it real quick. How often do you guys at a concert film them setting up the microphones?
Starting point is 00:28:51 Never. I love it. I go ahead and watch it after every show. But that may not even be. just a cell phone. That could be like a camera that they're set up to record the whole thing. You mean like they, it's maybe. Screw assemblies, man. It's definitely a cell phone,
Starting point is 00:29:02 but it could have been a cell phone set out and they just hit record. Correct. Yes. But you don't like it? It's all set up and it isn't that good. Who would become viral first as a singer? Lunchbox are Abby? As a singer. Abby. No, me because I would be so bad. I mean, I mean, I mean. I'm saying she's good. But you've sang so many times and you've not gone viral.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Have you heard your version of Let It Go? I have not heard about it back. I'm not heard of it. That's what I'm saying. That did not go viral. Like, Abby would not go viral for anything, like, for singing because she's not good enough and she's not bad enough. She's just blah. She's just whatever. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:29:33 If I'm just being, we're just being real. Yeah. Like, unless she fell off stage or, like, if she just, you know, like smacked herself in the microphone or she, you know, or someone attacked her on stage because she was so bad. Like, they were like, get off here. Then she would go viral, but she ain't going viral for her voice. And so you don't like this guy at all, Richard get all? No. And he doesn't deserve to go viral?
Starting point is 00:29:51 No. And it wasn't real and it was set up. Set up, and he's just good because he's a janitor. Okay, we appreciate your viewpoint. Thank you. I actually like him. Thank you is great, and don't think it was set up. But I appreciate you sharing with me what you think.
Starting point is 00:30:03 Thank you. You're welcome. Here's a voicemail from Allison in California. Just listening to the segment about the life hacks of what to do if you run out of toilet paper, and it reminded me of a story. Years ago, my ex-boyfriend was using our bathroom, and when there was a toilet paper in there, he used the sock trick,
Starting point is 00:30:26 which my roommate found stuffed in the toilet tank like months later. And when confronted, he admitted that it was him. Anyway, set a chair. I mean, we talked about how do you get rid of it. What do you do with the sock after you have to use it through a large of the city? At some point, you got to go back and get it. You got to go back to the scene of the crime at some point
Starting point is 00:30:45 and get rid of the body, you know? All right. Here's Amy's Pyle. of stories. According to a new poll, the average person wants to see their friends a weekly, so it's looking like four times a month is the magic number. I'm thinking about people that Caitlin and I really consider friend friends, like that we hang out with. We try to see or go to dinner or once a week, but there's only like two or three. But yeah, that sounds good. Maybe once a week's a little much. But I'll say, yeah, once a week's good.
Starting point is 00:31:20 A lot of people feel like they don't see their close friends as often they like, but a good night out with friends is as healing as a therapy session. Oh, that's the therapy thing you're talking about. Yeah. Yeah, it does feel good. I like it. You leave you're like, oh, that was fun. But I don't like going out. I like people, I like going to their house.
Starting point is 00:31:37 Right. Well, that's what it means. Like, it doesn't be like out at the club. It's like, could be dinner. Well, not the club. Even out to dinner. Yeah, I'd rather stay. Yeah, like, we went over to Eddie's house the other night.
Starting point is 00:31:46 That was fun. Or you come to our house. We rarely go out out as a couples. Do we? We've done it a couple times, but no, I like the house visits better. Me too, because then you got to pay a bill and wait for the wait a day to do. All that. All right, what else?
Starting point is 00:31:57 All right. I know you gave us an update on your thank you card sort of recently, but have you worked on any more from your wedding? Interesting, you've asked. I have not. Oh. I'm not, we got married on July 17th, and I don't know how many we have to, probably 80% of them we haven't done. Well, a poll was done, and only 9% of us are sending handwritten notes now. It's more like a phone call or text.
Starting point is 00:32:19 But a handwritten note generally is not something expected. I'm expected to do thank you cards for gifts for weddings, which I think is terrible idea. We should kill this. Right. You started doing video thank you messages. Or I just say thank you. Or you just know I'm thankful.
Starting point is 00:32:32 How about that? You got me a gift. You just know I'm thankful for the gift. That's my favorite one right there. You have to do anything. Right. Just know that I'm thankful. Yes.
Starting point is 00:32:39 If you sent me a gift, I got it, and I'm so thankful. Thank you. It says here too that we might want to reconsider the whole handwriting note thing because it's the most meaningful way to say thanks. So we should pick up a pin and paper from time to time. Absolutely. It's very meaningful because it takes a lot of time to do. Abby, when she didn't get the job here the first time,
Starting point is 00:32:59 sent me a thank you card for the interview. It's why I hired her. I was like, dang, she took a lot of time and wrote that note. Boom. Yeah, but I'm not. I mean, I try, but I don't because I'm like, oh, I should write a thank you. It's four days of it gone by, and I'm like, ah, you know what?
Starting point is 00:33:10 It's too late. They know your thanks. They know I'm thankful. That's right. I think maybe it was Dirk's Bentley that was in here once in like one year. he posted some picture and then he was telling us about how he wrote thank you notes for every single person that helps out like for his tour and team. I mean, it was like so many. I mean, it lined his hallway and it wasn't just like one tiny paragraph. I mean, it was a thoughtful whole page note to each person.
Starting point is 00:33:34 Well, I was just thinking like someone like him, he's so busy and like he made time for it. I'm sure it meant a lot to his team. Okay, so country quiz. Who said, I've got people who say to me, I don't like country music, but I like you. Okay, so if it's one person I can give you multiple choice Okay, go ahead All right, Kane Brown Okay, he's still in the running, go ahead Eric Church
Starting point is 00:33:57 Okay, I can see people saying that to him He's kind of like a rock vibe You could like that, go ahead Sam Hunt That's too easy It's not Sam Hunt Because that you'd think Sam Hunt immediately I'm gonna go Sam Hunt's off the board
Starting point is 00:34:12 Carrie Underwood Nah So it's going to be one of the first two It's going to be Kane Brown Because Carrie has pop song So that's easy So Kane or Church I'm going to go
Starting point is 00:34:26 I don't think Eric Church would say this in an interview though Where it's like hey man Anybody like you? Hey man uh People tell me all time They don't like country that like me Yeah that didn't sound right So through my process of elimination
Starting point is 00:34:40 I'm going with Kane Brown Amy the answer is Kane Brown Yeah And that folks It's how I scored Hi Macy too Wow I never knew it
Starting point is 00:34:51 I just would eliminate them Process of elimination And Kane's point about that is Good music is good music And if you focus too much on labels Then you're gonna miss out You know I don't always think that's true That good music's good music
Starting point is 00:35:01 Because sometimes I'm sure there's a rock and polka song And I don't get it And it doesn't win I'm just like I bet that Or a classic like classic music Classical? Yeah classical Sorry I forgot the old
Starting point is 00:35:10 Big difference They're like isn't this great I'm like I don't get it Like it's the greatest and I'm saying, I'm sure it is. But that good music can't win with me because I don't understand what's going on here. Not enough trumpet if you ask me.
Starting point is 00:35:23 I find something in it. I make something out. The violin, I just didn't really do it. Some of those Chopin songs are they're so good. Remember the time you act like you knew classical music? I think I passed the test. You failed miserably. I don't remember that.
Starting point is 00:35:33 I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. Scott Thompson accidentally fell out of his boat while out on the Pacific Ocean, and then he watched his boat sail off into the distance because he couldn't get back to it. Oh, goodness.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Which has to be so helpless. Lost at sea, you can't see land. He started to freak out. Like, I mean, the ocean is so big. Yeah. He's like, is this it for me? So he heard a splash, and that splash was a dang seal. And the seal helped him.
Starting point is 00:36:09 What? What? How? He grabbed the seal? And he wrote it? The splash was a seal that Scott. described as an angel that came to help him. He said, it was a medium-sized harbor seal, and it would go underwater, and he came up and nudged
Starting point is 00:36:21 me like a dog comes up and nudges your leg. After being pushed along by the seal, Scott felt determined to swim to the nearest oil platform, which was far, but closer than land. He was freezing. He was exhausted. He reached the platform five hours later. Cruise aboard the oil platform rendered aid. The Coast Guard got him to a hospital where he was treated for hypothermia and more.
Starting point is 00:36:43 Wow. That's crazy. This is Jonah and the whale, but it's, what's his name? That's a seal. But is it? Scott and the seal. This is crazy. Yes, Amy?
Starting point is 00:36:54 I don't know. Or what you could do is if you're Scott and you just made this one by yourself, you make the story up and you have the rights to sounds pretty cool. God, man, now you got me thinking, is this even real? Or was he hallucinating? Oh, no. Like I saw a mermaid. Yeah, because at like a few hours at sea, you start seeing things.
Starting point is 00:37:10 Yeah, that salt water gets to you. I'm going to take it that it was real and there was a seal. the dang thing was like nudging them along. That is crazy. That is crazy. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. What do you do when the astronaut is stressed out? What do when the astronaut is stressed out? Give them some space.
Starting point is 00:41:04 Funny. That was the morning corny. What a reaction from Eddie. I don't know. Most of the time I have to think about it. I'm like, I don't get it. This one I liked. All right.
Starting point is 00:41:17 It is time to open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it all the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones. My husband and I have been married for five years and have decided to play a game one evening a week to make sure we get some quality time together. My husband's idea is to get a gaming console
Starting point is 00:41:39 and play video games together. Neither of us have played video games. I have no interest in them at all, but he thinks it would be a good way to spend quality time together, at least as much as playing a board game or a card game. I disagree because I think it's a hobby only he will enjoy,
Starting point is 00:41:55 and it would be similar to watching a movie together. You know, I also think that getting a gaming console could lead to him playing more video games and take away from other times we'd normally be spending together. Is my husband correct in thinking that playing video games together can really be quality time. By being too paranoid
Starting point is 00:42:13 and not wanting to introduce a gaming console into our house, thinking it may become an issue later. Sincerely, hobby hunting with hubby. My advice is to get a gaming console and give him unlimited time to play. All right, that's the mailbag. Is that right? Close it up.
Starting point is 00:42:28 Sounds convenient. Here's the situation. There are games that you two can play together that are awesome and so much fun. Caitlin and I used to play this game. Forget the name of it. Rocket League. That's it.
Starting point is 00:42:37 Where the cars, Hit the ball into the goal. Pretty easy to learn. It's like soccer, but you drive a car, and you try to hit the ball, and you try to angle on the goal. And we played all the time.
Starting point is 00:42:48 We got super competitive at it. She later lost interest in the video game. I did not. That was also my introduction to video games. Who knows? Video games may be a great hobby for him to relax, too. If you get it, there are games you can play together,
Starting point is 00:43:04 and it will be fun. I think, though, if you're going to do this, you need to designate, All right, we're going to do video games this week. All right, we're going to play a card game this week. Don't go all video games all the time, but switch it up a little bit. But if you get a console, he's going to play some video games. I don't think he'll be an addict.
Starting point is 00:43:21 I wouldn't play video games if I wasn't playing with my friends, my absolute friends in a league in a league. I have no interest in just playing to play. I have like two games that play. Madden football and NBA 2K basketball. That's it. And anytime I play, it's in a league with my friends. I may play the computer, but it's in our league. Eddie's in a basketball league with me.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Yeah. The console will be fun for you guys, but he will play more too. So I would recommend it because he wants it. It'll just be easier. Just put limitations on it. Sign my wife. But it's good. It's good to do.
Starting point is 00:43:54 You'll find games that you like. Amy, you have any advice on this with the husband? I mean, I'm with you on what you're saying. And I think that it could be something they do together. But then, yes, go ahead and set the expectations at the front, though. Yes And That way everyone's on the same page
Starting point is 00:44:10 Yeah It's always This is a great thing to do with He's going to buy tokens He's going to get in trouble There's going to be some trouble here But after you get through it He's going to grow
Starting point is 00:44:18 It's going to make him better Eddie Man I wish I can get my wife To play video games with me I tried And I just feel like She's going to struggle
Starting point is 00:44:28 With how much She's going to play But your wife didn't say Let's play games together Right This scenario is a bit different Well you're just going I got a video game
Starting point is 00:44:35 come play with me. They're trying to discuss games to play and he's like, why don't we get a video game? Yeah. No, we did it. At the very beginning, I think we did Monopoly. We got Monopoly and we played it for about one day and then she was over it. Board game or video? It was a video game, Monopoly. That's terrible, yeah. Maybe that's
Starting point is 00:44:51 why she doesn't want to play anymore, but it didn't work for us. It just didn't work. So what do you say to her? Just be try it. Are you saying, don't get it? I say try it, but just be prepared because he will want to play more video games. He will, but there's going to be the expectation of much time, like set that boundary ahead of time.
Starting point is 00:45:08 Maybe he likes to play golf and this takes away from golf time and he's at home. Yes. At least doing something instead of gone. But what my wife says is just because you're physically there doesn't mean that you're really here. I am like, here come touch me. I am here. If you need me to do something, I'm right here. Golf and video games, you don't get the same amount of time, right?
Starting point is 00:45:25 Like if you're like, oh, I was going to go play golf, so I'm not anymore. So now I get to play five hours of video games? Yeah, what's your argument? No, because I don't have to do it like that. but it's like maybe I'm going to go play golf and it said, no, can I play video games 30 minutes at a time or 45 minutes at a time? Okay. It's just different.
Starting point is 00:45:42 If Caitlin's ever gone for a whole day, I play video games eight hours at a time. Oh, for sure. But that almost never happened, so I almost never do it. Okay. And I'm just saying, maybe sometimes the dogs, hey, I forgot to feed the dogs. That's my video, I guess. And then she's like, did you feed the dogs?
Starting point is 00:45:55 Of course I did. Slippery slow. And after we feed them at night and I'm feeding them again, I'm like, guys, I'm so sorry. I forgot to feed you this morning. I'm so sorry. Oh, you're telling the dog. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm like, I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Anyway, there's our situation. Get in the video game. It'll be good for the relationship. Oh, man. Wink, wink. All right, close it up. We've got your email and we read it on the air. Now it's about to close.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Bobby's Mel Pack. Yeah. Hope everybody's just killing it today. We have an awesome Wednesday. It's time for your big stories. Let's go. Bobby's Big. Stories.
Starting point is 00:46:28 It took me a second to figure the scam out. But once I figured it out, Pretty smart. So a home in Jacksonville, Florida that has an estimated value of $2.3 million was listed on Zillow for $21,000. So you go and you look, you're like, this is a huge house. Wow, only $21,000. The owners knew nothing about it. The listing stayed live for about a day, but they got thousands of views, hundreds of saves. But what it required was a deposit to schedule a time to go view the home. so people would send them a little money through a deposit on Zell and they get that deposit to go view and they ran away with the money because that's all they were trying to do.
Starting point is 00:47:08 There's another scam in Raleigh's same situation but it's just like who's going to ask for a deposit to I don't think I'd fall for that but I don't know that I wouldn't if I love the house. Please house market. Have a deposit here, have a deposit there. I just want to go look at it. I think they'd probably would have got more though
Starting point is 00:47:24 if they'd have the house a little more expensive. 21K seems almost fake For a 2.3 million. Yeah. If they'd have put it at like $180,000, I think people would have been, oh, wow, this could be legitimate. Here's 500 bucks for the deposit. But people were just sending them money. Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Starting point is 00:47:40 That's crazy. Yeah, so they made a little money. They ran away. I don't think they ever caught them. Wow. That's from jacksonville.com. If you can only keep one streaming service, that's what they asked folks. What would it be?
Starting point is 00:47:50 I thought about this, so I'm not just going right off the top here. Weighing it all out, it would be Netflix. It's not the sexiest anymore. because Netflix is the old standard. But it's, they just have pound for pound the best shows. Sometimes a great show comes on HBO Max and it's killer, but they have fewer shows that I spend time with. I just go Netflix because it's just solid.
Starting point is 00:48:17 It's solid all the time. So I'm going to go Netflix, Amy. Well, HBO Max is a good one. It's friends lives over there. And, but I guess with that said, I guess I got to go Hulu. because you can watch Hulu Live. We're not doing live TV.
Starting point is 00:48:30 Yeah, that's the streaming. HBO Max. Okay. Amy's like, I'm just going to do Hulu. Because it has every channel. Well, that doesn't count. So what you said. Streaming services, lunchbox. Oh, it's easy.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Paramount Plus. Really? That's random. Of all? Out of all? It's the only one you have. Where do you watch it? It has SpongeBob.
Starting point is 00:48:48 PBS. It has the Challenge All-Stars, the real world reunions. Like, they go back to, like, New Orleans. They go back to San Francisco. They bring the old cast. back from back in the day and they do a little like where they live in the house again. It's awesome. So you would do that
Starting point is 00:49:03 because of those shows more than any other streaming service. Yes. And they have a new show coming out called, it is called All Star Shore, where they're taking reality contestants from all these shows and it's a party competition. That is awesome. That's cool, man. When do you think you'll age out at this kind of show? Never. Never? That is my type of drama.
Starting point is 00:49:21 Does your wife like these shows too? Yes. I texted it to her and she goes, that looks good. That's what they bonded over. Eddie, what about you? Number one. This is easy, man. It's going to do Disney Plus because without Disney Plus, my kids would go crazy. So Disney Plus, hey, you guys want to watch a cartoon? Here, two hours.
Starting point is 00:49:37 Dad time. Low key, and I'm not just saying this because my show will be on it. Peacock's really good because they have a ton of great movies, like old school, like 90s and 2,000 movies. And they get some good shows, but they have a great catalog of back normal stuff. And that's where Peacock really thrives. Like a lot of that NBC stuff. Oh, yeah. From back in the day is still up there on Peacock.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Number one's Netflix, number two is HBO Max, number three is Hulu, Disney Plus at four, and Amazon at five. Why Amazon is so strong, though, is you can buy stuff from some of the other streaming services. Like rent. Everything's on there. Where was Paramount Plus? Paramount Plus. This says wire hanger for, that beats Paramount Plus, put the wire hanger on the TV for Antana. No, Paramount Plus is at number 6 to 3%.
Starting point is 00:50:24 That's a good show. It's so new. there just aren't as many on there right now. A swimmer survives an attack from one of the biggest great white sharks ever recorded. Whoa. A 62-year-old swimmer named Steve is swimming alone off the California coast when a shark attacked him, leaving him with severe injuries. Despite losing 25 pints of blood, doctors say they expect him to make a full recovery.
Starting point is 00:50:45 A forensic examination of the bite marks on the body showed that the Great White attacked him was around or slightly more than 20 feet long. Dang. 20 feet long. Oh. I mean, I'm just picture a minute. Yeah, you're six. Three plus two. So if I'm six one,
Starting point is 00:50:58 so one, what? You're not. You've been growing. Oh, yeah. Just make it even six. We were measuring something in my house the other day, Eddie and I were,
Starting point is 00:51:05 and I was like, I need to measure this out to six foot. I didn't have tape measure. And so I made Eddie lay down. And then I marked a spot, and then made them lay down again. Yeah. That's how the caveman did it.
Starting point is 00:51:15 And measured human bodies. You're a six foot. I said, okay, about 15 foot here. We got this. A dude pulls a wheelchair scammed, cut through the airline security weight. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:51:25 A 28-year-old guy. wanted to get through. There's a long line, about two hours. So he took off his shoe, took off his sock, grabbed a wheelchair, and then pretended that he's hurt. And went all the way through. I mean, he breathed through security. Got to the flight crew and they're like, hey, let's stretch it out.
Starting point is 00:51:44 But then they realized that he was lying about the whole thing. And so they, like, hey, you can't do this anymore. Yeah. But the story is he got through. I was going to say it was a good idea, but he got caught. No, no, he got caught. He got caught, but he still got through. But he didn't get fined or anything.
Starting point is 00:51:57 He made it to his plane on time. But they shame him? Or he still didn't miss his flight. Yeah, I guess so. Exactly. The lines long at TSA, just jump in a wheelchair. They let them go to the front. LAD Bible, Ladd Bible has that story.
Starting point is 00:52:08 Got a couple more here inside the big stories. A woman tries to get through baggage claim with over 100 live animals. So here you go, somebody else at the airport. And they're trying to smuggle animals. Two women were arrested after an x-ray inspection revealed more than 100 live animals in their luggage. Wildlife official said 109 animals were discovered in two
Starting point is 00:52:27 suitcases two white porcupines two armadillos 35 turtles 50 lizards and 20 snakes Oh my gosh Yeah it's not funny anymore Is it lunch about? USA Today
Starting point is 00:52:39 If that bag comes open Yeah you're done Snakes on a plane Well how do they live? They're going to die in the flight The bags are big And I guess they've done this before Because this is such an operation They spent so much
Starting point is 00:52:50 I would think they know what they're doing with this Some may Some may die. Seems weird that a porcupine can be in with a turtle and I mean. Armadillos. Maybe they're in their own little box. Yeah, and they're probably in their own little cases inside the suitcase. Don't they just cram them all in there?
Starting point is 00:53:02 Be like, all right, guys. Survival of the fish. You're right. I was thinking it was just zipped up with the animals. It's a war in there. Don't worry about it. They're probably their own little baggy thing. I didn't realize.
Starting point is 00:53:14 You just need to cram them in, zip it up. I literally thought you put them in there like your clothes. You just throw them in there and zip it up. A 27-year-old woman is now her ex-boyfriend stepmother. That is a great story. I don't understand. A 27-year-old woman, picture one, anyone, is now her ex-boyfriend's stepmother. She married her ex-boyfriend's dad.
Starting point is 00:53:31 That's it. Great stuff, man. This is neat. A 27-year-old woman who married her ex-boyfriend's father has revealed how the pair formed a close connection when she was in sixth grade. Oh. Despite a 24-year age gap. And it went from that to romantic later in life. But they're married now.
Starting point is 00:53:47 Sidney Dean, 27. They should leave that. Paul 51. Sixth grade part out. If you're the ex-boyfriend. what do you do? He was dating. Yeah, she was dating.
Starting point is 00:53:56 No time what to do. I've been there. Oh, oh God. Oh, God. Oh, God. No, dude. After Sydney broke up
Starting point is 00:54:04 with her then boyfriend, they remained friends. She began spending more time with his family, mostly his dad. Oh my gosh. They started dating at 16. But she was 16. Oh!
Starting point is 00:54:12 This is not legal. I guess it depends on what state. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know the rules. But they didn't get wrong. What state hasn't changed that long? Well, they weren't romantic until
Starting point is 00:54:23 16. They were just friends before that. I don't know. And I don't like to... There used to be a site called age of consent.com, but I don't go there anymore because I don't want people to... I don't want even like... What is it? Oh, yeah. Mike doesn't... We don't look at it because we don't want... In our browser history, people to be like, all right, let's see who's
Starting point is 00:54:41 been to age of consent.com today and go kick their door open and arrest them. Amy's going to it right now. Amy, they're from Ohio, so if you could check that out. Age of Consent in Ohio. 16. It is. So, listen, I don't know. this is true. So let me say it.
Starting point is 00:54:54 They're probably saying 16 because that's the first time that... Or maybe they waited if she was thinking, I don't know. Like, okay, I get it. In the state of Ohio, you're giving 16-year-olds. If they want a date at 18 or a 19-year-old, okay, you have the power to make your own decision. But like, an old man? Well, he's probably 30.
Starting point is 00:55:11 I mean, if you do the math, he's probably like 30 is 40. When you're 16, someone that's 30 or 40 is old man. I agree. But it's not a 70-year-old. And it's creepy, yes. Yeah, he was 40 when she was 16, I think. It's still messed up. I just, I'm 42.
Starting point is 00:55:23 I'm going to call 40-year-old old. Like, I'm fighting for that instead of this. Well, now I'm Googling state with lowest age of college. Probably 16 is going to be the lowest. Okay. Hey, Google, where can I go? Go ahead. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:41 That's probably 16. I can't imagine anywhere in the state. Yeah, no one's looking to be going any lower. We should change that. Ohio lawmakers, you're listening. It's not Pennsylvania, Rhode Island. Like, they're not the only ones. It's just like, I think sometimes there's so.
Starting point is 00:55:54 many laws they forget to go back and that's what we should forget about yeah that's what we should be thinking about right now so they're at 16 they're allowed to but they can't sleep with their teacher though yeah that's weird that's because a teacher has a wait what the what state has an age a consit please tell me this is old north carolina says 13 that cannot be right that can't be right yes because the teacher has power over the student okay yes but but but you can be a student 18 and you can't do it either too. So it's not just the age thing. Oh, it's the relationship. Yeah. Okay. Amy keeps slapping our desk. Radio talk.
Starting point is 00:56:29 Because I don't know if this is Wikipedia, so it should be... That's true. Yeah, yeah. Definitely accurate. Yeah, absolutely accurate. But I'm seeing some other ages. I'm seeing like 14, 13. But we don't know this is true. Okay. Yeah. Representatives from each day, please call us. Doing pretty good. What can I help you with? So I was just calling because I was listening to Lunchbox. And I love Lunchbox when he's not. being so negative.
Starting point is 01:00:18 So you love them like half-ness? Well, yeah. So, like, when he does his bit about Bonehead story and everything, he's so animated and he just makes me laugh, which I think is great. But he doesn't offer any positive, like he could help with Abby's singing or anything. So my thought was, does he ever think? like when you put salt in someone's coffee it doesn't make your life sweeter. It's good.
Starting point is 01:00:53 It's interesting when she starts to lay it out. You do have a beef with everybody about something. What is this young lady's name? Young lady. Carol, go ahead. Carol, Carol, yeah. No, no, Carol, I tried to help Abby. I tell her to take singing lessons.
Starting point is 01:01:07 For Christmas, I gave her a book, singing for dummies. It's supposed to teach you things on to help your singing. But she doesn't take that, she doesn't take that advice. She gets mad. I can't believe you would tell me I need singing lessons. Okay, fine. She actually didn't say that. We said that for her. We said it was an insulting gift. Because you did it as an insult. No, no, no. That's what I'm saying. So, Carol, I tried to help these people out, but they don't listen to me. I think honorary doctorates are crazy. Like, he did nothing to earn a doctorate. He didn't go to school. He never took one class at that university. He got a doctorate from it. That's crazy for all the people that worked hard for it. Amy, there's millions of people out there like me that are struggling actors.
Starting point is 01:01:45 and she just gets a role for nothing. Well, not for nothing. But your goal in life is to win the lottery from nothing. It's an investment. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But he does have a beef with everybody. Like, what about Eddie? What does he hated about Eddie?
Starting point is 01:01:59 Well, when I first started the show, he did not like me. You were taking his mic time. No, no, no, wasn't my mic time. It was the way he would talk to me. How did I talk to you? He would say things. I had to pull him aside. You ain't got to talk to me that way.
Starting point is 01:02:12 Like, how would he talk to you? He was like, I don't remember the exact, what we were talking about it, but I was in the hallway and I said something and I said something and go, yeah, right, and I'm not doing that for you and I was like, okay, like, we're not going to have that?
Starting point is 01:02:24 Like, his job was video guy and he was supposed to video something and he was like, I'll do it for Bobby, but not you. And I was like, there's no way that happened. It happened. No way.
Starting point is 01:02:32 He has stories that I think maybe a little bit of it happened, but he kind of recreates. And he still has this issue about filming stuff for work. Like he's like, I'm not going to film. Exactly. Am I right, Amy? No, I haven't dealt with it.
Starting point is 01:02:45 I think Morgan has said something similar. Yeah, it's not me. I'm saying, I think Eddie, it's been a similar thing. Some people. This turns into an Eddie. No, no, I... Thank you. I just think lunchbox maybe has probably added a little flare to the story over the years.
Starting point is 01:03:01 He has a lot of flirt with a lot of me. Eddie, did I pull you aside and say you know how to talk to me that way? He sat me down. He said, he will not talk to me like that. That's right. And I was like, you know, I was just joking. Well, I didn't catch that. And he said, don't do that.
Starting point is 01:03:14 Oh, yeah. That was the last time. The point is, if anybody has anything and he doesn't have it, lunchbox is going to find a way to hate on it. Wrong. I try to help people in life. That's her point. You don't try to help people.
Starting point is 01:03:26 What was your help to me? Go to school. Get a doctorate. What about you? Go to school, finish your degree. I don't want it. Okay. I got a job.
Starting point is 01:03:35 I got a career. Yeah, why not just be like, hey, that's great. They're honoring you because they're honoring you with your achievements. You didn't achieve anything. What are you talking about? It's an achievement-based. thing. They're like, look at your career, what you've been able to do, and look at what you've given back to the state. We want to recognize you as an honor. Oh, boy, as an honor. Like, you didn't,
Starting point is 01:03:55 I mean, if they want to give you a key to the city, okay, that's fine. That's, that doesn't take away. I'm talking about you're getting up in front of people that are actually working hard to get a degree. To go, hey, if you guys put an effort, you can accomplish great things too outside of college. Okay. All right. I'm just saying. I don't think it's, I think honorary doctors are hilarious. They're But you would accept one. You would take one? I'll take. Exactly. Hey, Carol, you bring up a great point.
Starting point is 01:04:21 I don't know what needs to be done with him. Nothing. I mean, nothing needs to be done, but I'm saying for him to change his outlook. I think he, you know, old dog, new tricks, ain't going to happen here. Carol, I think I'm a pretty positive person. Oh, well, in some ways you, I know. I'll take that back. In some ways you are.
Starting point is 01:04:39 But we were reading Bobby's books, my eight-year-old grandson. and he actually said to me, which is why I called, because I wouldn't have called, but he said, I wonder if lunchbox did this in school. Was it like the first book when he dumped the candy on Amy's head? Is that the story you're talking about when Amy first started and he hated her? No, when I was reading your book with my grandson yesterday. Oh, Stanley first year's school. Oh, the dog.
Starting point is 01:05:08 Oh, kids' books. Yes, the bully. Yeah. Yeah. The kids. And we listened. the show all the time and my grandson is here. And I was like, oh, that's not a good message if he thinks that he's mean.
Starting point is 01:05:23 And I was like, oh, no, I said lunchbox just plays a part on the radio. He's really a really nice guy. He has kids. And then I was like, this isn't good because I know that lunchbox has a good heart. So I just thought that it would maybe a good time to call and say, like, just be positive about other people and then just try to maybe do what you want to do in your life based on what you're not liking
Starting point is 01:05:50 that other people are getting accomplishment for. Change your role. Don't be that role in the show anymore. Be a lover. When I do something cool, be like, that's cool, man. I did something like, when you made the hall of fame,
Starting point is 01:06:01 I said congratulations. I went to the ceremony. I supported you because you earned that. No, I believe you got a free ticket and we paid for you to go to Chicago. I did. Yeah, I think that's why you went. I probably went to pay my own way.
Starting point is 01:06:11 Carol, thank you. You bring up a wonderful point, and I'm glad you shared it with us. She's so young to be a grandma, too. I probably just sound young, but thank you. What are you doing later? All right, Carol, have a great day. Tell your grandson, I say hello, and thanks for reading the Stanley book. And it is what it is with lunchbox. He is a good guy, but he does get very jealous of people and thinks that anybody has something he should have it. Right?
Starting point is 01:06:40 Yeah. If I don't get something, then why should anybody else have it? That's the point. Go ahead. Thank you, lunchbox. Like when Scoobin wins $500 in lottery, it's a little frustrating. That was awesome. Because I spent more money than he did.
Starting point is 01:06:51 When Scoob won $500 and it came in. And the most you've ever won in all your years is... $250. Yeah. Scoot doubled you up. I think that's awesome. All right, thank you. Carol. Thank you everybody for listening. Lobby Bone Show.
Starting point is 01:07:02 Boney up the day. This story comes to us from Vermont. A 24-year-old man was wanted for burglary. They go to his house to arrest him is they're about to put the cuffs on them? Here comes his dad in an excavator, and he takes the bucket of the excavators and starts swinging it at the cops.
Starting point is 01:07:19 Oh, gosh. Oh. Family, hashtag family. I mean, what do they say? The apple don't fall far from the tree. There you go. Yeah, they say a lot of things. That's one of them.
Starting point is 01:07:28 Yeah. Wow. The video is unbelievable. That's a hardcore weapon. I mean, an excavator, man, just swinging that thing. Just go to jail together. Yeah, and what do they do? Because a gun doesn't beat an excavator if it's all equal.
Starting point is 01:07:40 You can see. see him diving out of the way and the guy is still laying on the ground and they're diving out of the way of the excavator and he finally stops and then here comes the mom and tries to pull the cops off her son. Mom too. Yes. The mom shows up on a ride and mower. That's crazy. So what happens to all of them? So the son and dad were arrested and the mom was issued a citation. Do you know what's craziest about this? It's daytime. Yeah. In the video it's daytime. Blue sky, I expected it to be like two in the morning. Everybody drunk or something. That's, yeah. I mean, it is crazy. And the said we did not get that training in the academy.
Starting point is 01:08:13 I mean, the guy's pretty good with an excavator. You know how they did that movie, Catch Me If You Can, and the guy was like stealing money. Leonardo. They used him later to actually stop criminals. Like, this guy could teach some excavator classes. Like, he's pretty good at this thing. All right, is that at Lunchbox? Yeah, I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead Story of the Day.
Starting point is 01:08:31 It's not new, but there's a documentary on Netflix called My Octopus Teacher. I watched it a year and a half or so ago. Lunchbox has seen it. because I was talking about it. Yeah. And you thought I was an idiot because I was like, it's a good documentary about octopus. I thought it was going to be so stupid. I was like, how weird?
Starting point is 01:08:47 And it was so good. And I won't eat octopus anymore after it. Will you eat octopus? I haven't had octopus in two years. Two years. Before that, he was Mr. Octopus. What? Everybody knew he was looking for the best octopus in town, you know?
Starting point is 01:08:58 Interesting. So it's a little weird, but it's really good. Eddie finally watched it. I did. Because of us? I did because you guys kept talking about. I mean, you've been talking about it for about a year. Okay.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Not regularly. It comes up. When we talk about octopuses, it's like every two days. Right, exactly. But, dude, it's actually really, really good. It was one of those where, like, I can't believe, like lunchbox. I can't believe I'm watching this whole thing. And I loved it.
Starting point is 01:09:20 But you got to, you got to feel like this dude's weird, right? Oh, there's some weird elements to it where, again, I thought many times he was going to start making out or making love to the octopus. Totally. Yeah. And so that, and then I'm like, this guy's going to see this octopus every day for a whole year. I can't go to my kid. I can't drop off my kid at school every day. And like something always comes up.
Starting point is 01:09:40 Like how do he make the time to do it every single day? Well, in they interview his wife and she's like, he just loves it. And I'm like, he should feel that way about you. He's not even seeing you as much as seeing the octopus. That's funny because my son actually, we were watching it together. And he goes, where's his wife in this? Is she cool with this whole visit? She's in it, right?
Starting point is 01:09:56 Doesn't she make an appearance or to it? He talks about her, but she never shows up. Okay. Yeah. Are we sure he has a wife then? I don't know, man. I knew she was addressed at some point. But yeah, he goes every single day.
Starting point is 01:10:05 Anything else pop out to you? I mean, I really just think that octopus are probably the, the coolest things ever. What about the octopus the guy who just thought it was a girl? How does he know it's a girl? I think he just wanted to be a girl so he makes me love to the octopus. Exactly. I think he was in love with the octopus. He did say that. He's like, I was in love with her.
Starting point is 01:10:21 Who? I don't know. Is that true? He said I was in love with her. I don't know about in love. Maybe he just love. I think he used the words in love. But that's why he was right on the edge at all times, Amy, of me going. And they were playing like slow music. And I'm like, he's going to do it. Oh, no. Well, now I feel like I'm going to have to watch it.
Starting point is 01:10:38 You should. You can. Sure. I have not been sold until this moment. Because he makes love to an octopus. That's what it is for Amy. I was like, you know, I don't really want to do it. And I'm like, well, he gets down and dirty with the octopus, maybe.
Starting point is 01:10:49 Well. No, because now all three of y'all have seen it, and I'm feeling left out. I don't think you're going to come away from it going, wow, I'm so fulfilled by that. But it's interesting. And then octopuses, octopies, octopies. Octopuses. It is, you can save those. Risky.
Starting point is 01:11:04 T-h-h-h-h-h. But pusseses is first. Okay, me. Yeah, I think you'll come away going, oh, they're as smart as we are. They just live in a different part of the world. Yeah. Crazy. Good.
Starting point is 01:11:12 Eddie, rate it. Oh, gosh, I mean, for a documentary about... No, no, just rate it. A rate it? Not for a, just rate it. I will go four and a half. Oh, wow. That's high.
Starting point is 01:11:20 The blind sharks. Got it. I have a question. How did you always know where to find the octopus? Same place. They don't. They don't. I knew how to find Caitlin.
Starting point is 01:11:29 I DM her. He just DM her and be like, hey. They don't, because I figured they have a whole ocean to swim in. You have to watch it. We got to go. And now for a bit of breaking news between your breaking news, with me, the Gecko Gecko. Here are some things you ought to know today. People who switch their car insurance to Geico save about $900 a year.
Starting point is 01:11:51 Experts are calling that nice to know. Also, plants can hear when bees buzz. My ficers just heard that. And finally, animal experts have confirmed that goats have regional accents. I'm getting a hint of Irish there. It feels good to get good news. It feels good to Geico. The Disneyland Resort is everything.
