Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed human. Come on, Bobby. Transmitting. Hey, welcome to Wednesday show. Morning studio. Morning. The question is, what would you do to save the life of a loved one or the life of a dog?
Starting point is 00:00:23 Sometimes a gator will eat a dog and the person jumps in and punches the gator in the face. The dog lives. Like that kind of stuff. Here's a story about a shark. This mom, by the way, the shark got her. It's a bull shark. It basically bit off her calf. Oh.
Starting point is 00:00:36 So they're out in the ocean, South Padre, and she sees like something gray kind of circling the area and starts like coming toward them. They were out past a sandbar. The shark followed her to the shallow water, Amy, and then attacked her. So she turned around. She saw something was gray. She kicked it because she thought it was a huge fish, which I mean a shark is kind of a huge fish. She's an angry one with teeth. And so then the shark went crazy because it got kicked.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Bitter. But then the husband. jumps in the water to fight the shark. Wow. So the question is... Would I do that? If a shark is attacking someone you loved you, jump in the water to fight the shark, Amy?
Starting point is 00:01:16 I hope so. Yeah, you try to figure it out in one way or another, but also I'd be really, really scared. And that's awesome that her husband did that because that's what you hoped for. Imagine he didn't. I know. And she lived.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Time out. She's like, yeah. Time out. So first, when I finish the story, the husband jumps in, gets into a fight with a shark, like punches the shark. It's grabbing her. He was bitten a couple times as well, but not as bad.
Starting point is 00:01:40 Beachgoers pulled her out of the water. There's blood everywhere. First responders were on the scene. There's a big wound. She said, quote, from CBS News, if my husband didn't jump into action and everyone else on the beach, those people pulling me out, I don't think that it would have stopped. Amy, do you think if I were getting attacked by a shark,
Starting point is 00:01:59 you would jump in on the shark? I don't know. Lunchbox, your wife's getting attacked by a shark. I don't think I can do it. What? I got kids to think. about if we both get eaten by the shark That's a hilarious response because I don't think that's
Starting point is 00:02:10 really what you're thinking but that's funny If both of us get taken out by the shark They have no parents If mom goes at least they still have dad There to take care of them so I'm hoping Bystanders jump in Because they know they have kids though You don't know
Starting point is 00:02:26 Single parents probably Maybe it's single parents but I assume Most single parents aren't jumping in because They know they have to protect their kids also And that's the only reason you wouldn't jump in That's it The only reason for my kids. Would you do it for your wife?
Starting point is 00:02:42 I can't argue that. Yeah. Okay. I figure. Yeah, but he doesn't have kids, so it's a different, it's a different dynamic. It's not even about kids. I've just seen so many. Man, if you had a newborn beach, newborn baby laying on the beach? Beach baby?
Starting point is 00:02:53 No, no. I'm not leaving the newborn just laying on the beach. I'm not taking the newborn to the beach. I'm just saying people do. Let's say your baby's one year's old and it's laying on the beach and your wife's getting attacked. You can't just leave the baby. I think I don't think about it.
Starting point is 00:03:04 I think that's instinct and I probably do. Or you just protect, like, cover the baby so the baby doesn't see. So as the shark is attacking your wife, you just lay on top of the baby, so maybe he doesn't see your wife being attacked. That's good. That's good. Yeah. Yeah. The guy could have said that if he didn't do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:19 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think I would jump in. Because I think an animal like that is not just going to attack and kill everything around him. He's hungry or angry. And I think when the guy jumps in, the shark probably freaks out as well. But I don't think he can kill everybody. But he bit the guy twice. He's lucky.
Starting point is 00:03:33 He wasn't freaking out. Right, but he's lucky. He wasn't more damaged. So, like, if you're getting bit, maybe because you can. I come in and pet it calmly. It's tough. It's okay. Calm down never works for me.
Starting point is 00:03:43 No. I say it. All right. Dang. Shark calm down. I don't know. That's scary. I would like to think I would do something.
Starting point is 00:03:49 It doesn't work for me with humans. It definitely wouldn't work with a shark. Eddie, jump on a shark. Guys, what are you talking about? There's no question. You have to go in and save your family member. I'd say your kid, your wife. Oh, that's tough.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Yeah. Yeah. It's totally different. It's totally different. It's like a kid. No brainer, right? I think a shark can't take two people. I think that's why.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Yeah. Yeah. So you should be like, Shark, take me. No, this is not Tim McGraw. Don't take me. Just, I think if you jump in and start pounding on the shark, a shark will not take on two people. Okay. The shark hasn't seen the movies. So you tag team it.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Yeah, and then it gets out of town. It's not like the person in the middle just swinging away trying to hit whoever it hits. But it's tough. You're in the shark's territory. The ocean, yeah. It's good in the water. And that bull shark, one of the strongest sharks in the water. Did you get it up? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:37 It's in a book. We read it. With your kids? Yeah, they love sharks. The kids that you would not jump in and save your wife because you want to protect those kids. Exactly. I'd be like, guys, I couldn't do it. It was a bull shark.
Starting point is 00:04:46 And they're like, oh, that's one of the strongest. You're right, kids. Hey, Dad, we understand. Totally understand, Dad. You did the right thing. I still don't believe that's why you wouldn't do it, but I can't prove you wrong, so I'm going to go with it. Thank you. What if it was a bear?
Starting point is 00:05:01 No. No way. I know way more so than a shark. No, I'm saying. If it's not the kids, it should be no way, no even. It should be even. No, it's no way, I got the kids. What about a dog?
Starting point is 00:05:12 Big dog. Ooh, no, I got the kids. Not the kids, man. What about? A rat. It gets smaller and smaller. It just won't do it. A bird.
Starting point is 00:05:28 It's something we call Bobby Mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones. My fiance and I are getting married in a few months. We're now in the planning stages. My friends keep telling us we need to have an open bar, which sounds great, but honestly, our budget can't really feel that. While talking about this with my wife to be, I mentioned the idea of giving each guest three drink tickets.
Starting point is 00:05:49 That way we can control what we're paying for. She says this is tacky and in bad form. Our drink tickets really worse than having a full-on cash bar. Signed, frugal fits. You kind of have a full bar. We let everybody have it. Or you have no alcohol. Or you have a cash bar.
Starting point is 00:06:09 bar or you have a ticket bar. There's the four options, right? Yeah. Making sure that I'm not missing any of them. Again, this is one that she's probably, I hate to be this guy. If she's planned most of the wedding, you're going to have to lean a little bit to let her have the open bar. No, no.
Starting point is 00:06:22 She doesn't. She does, right? She does. It's the guy writing it. Okay, she wants it, but they don't really have the money for it, he said. Correct. Got it. If she's been the one planning most of the wedding, you've got to let her plan the wedding.
Starting point is 00:06:35 And that sucks, and that's on you, buddy. if you've been doing it equally, I think there's a compromise, but I'm going to bet based off of my polling of friends for 20 years. Come on. She's planned most of the wedding. But also, tickets aren't tacky. I agree, but I'm just, hold on. We'll get to that in a second.
Starting point is 00:06:51 I'm just saying if that's the case, you're going to have to fall to where she is because you can't jump in as secret Superman. I'm here to make a decision. All of a sudden. When you haven't done that. So, number one is if she's planned the whole wedding, most of the wedding, you're going to have to just,
Starting point is 00:07:06 bow down. Number two is, what even is tacky? Everybody's wedding has different things that people think. What's the dollar dance tacky? The ticket's tacky. No one's going to look at the tickets and go, well, this is tacky. No, and three? That's generous. I've been where I've just gotten one ticket.
Starting point is 00:07:22 Guys, the ticket puts you in a bad spot. Because you drink the three real quick, right? And then you're like, all right, we're going to get. Don't drink him so quick then. What are you going to slow down. You're going to only have three drinks all night. And then you've got to go find Bobby. Where's Bobby?
Starting point is 00:07:33 I know he's not using his three tickets. That's true. bones, but can I please have your three tickets? And then you have five people begging you for those tickets. It's like, man, it's so awkward and it's uncomfortable. You're not paying attention to the best man's speech because you're too busy trying to barter for a ticket. Like, no.
Starting point is 00:07:44 You're selling your body for tickets to wedding. It is so tacky to have tickets and then buy your fourth drink. That's true too. You can do that. Don't worry about tacky. It's your wedding. Who cares? DGAF about what anybody else thinks of your wedding.
Starting point is 00:08:00 You're not building a wedding for them. So if you guys have planned it pretty even. I think you should let her hear this. It's not tacky. You can be doing 100 things that people think are tacky that you don't think is tacky. You can be doing things that you think are tacky. People don't think is tacky.
Starting point is 00:08:14 It's all based on the person. If you don't think it's tacky, it's not tacky. Do drink tickets. I would encourage you to do that. How about B-Y-O-B? At least I know I didn't bring my case of beer. That's tacky F. That's really tough.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Everybody rolls in with their cooler. Yeah. That's the music festival. That is. And there's just some people getting married at the music festival. But I would say one, let her decide if she's planned the wedding. To let her hear this,
Starting point is 00:08:39 it's not tacky. No one's going to judge you. If so, they're not your friends anyway. Who cares? The end. That's what I say. What about full cash bars at wedding? Oh, terrible. That's bad.
Starting point is 00:08:51 They're just good old bar. That's so tacky. Just kidding. After saying nothing. I'm just kidding. There's also ways you can like look at the alcohol. Like you don't have to have all the liquor options that can get expensive. You can do wine and beer.
Starting point is 00:09:04 And that's a way to. But that still could be too expensive. I agree. But I'm just letting you know there's, you can try to play with it a little bit. You're a dom over at your wedding or what? Amy's like, you don't have to get Aces Spades. No, I just meant. Ray, what's that one, the crazy expensive one?
Starting point is 00:09:18 That's the most expensive one. That's the most expensive one right there. No, no, no. Happy Van Winkle. Oh, Pappy Van Winkle. Amy's like, everybody doesn't have to get a bottle of Happy Van Wendke. No, I just meant like tequila, vodka. That adds up.
Starting point is 00:09:28 You could just make it like beer or wine. And you could do Mad Dog. 20. Hey, that's cheap. That's cheap. All right, that's the mail bag. Close it up. We got your email and we need mail bag.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Morgan's sister got married. Morgan was the maid of honor. Morgan came on the show. We were talking about her maid of honor speech. First of all, if you were to grade yourself on your speech, what would you grade yourself? I didn't have any mess-ups, and I kept it pretty concise,
Starting point is 00:09:59 and I got lots of laughs and lots of tears. So I'd honestly give myself an A. Boom. She's not someone who just throws out A's for herself or anybody else, so I trust it. I have some audio. It was recorded kind of far away. But so set up the visual.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Is there like a long table you guys are setting at? Yep, long table and I'm sitting right next to my sister, and I'm talking directly kind of at my sister with a few moments in the crowd. Okay, here we go. Neither one of us made the team. How long was your total speech? It was about four minutes and 30 seconds. It's a good time.
Starting point is 00:11:08 The 20 minutes are when it gets rough. Lushbox, you made a little face. I mean, I don't know what the part at the beginning was. I didn't even understand it. Hey, for everybody that knows me, congratulations. Or she said you're welcome. It means it's like something you would say though. It means like I'm cool and nice.
Starting point is 00:11:26 If you know me, that's great. And it was kind of joke because like 95% of people are in that room movie. I was really worried when she goes, I met her when I was born. She was too. I was like, oh my God, we're going to go over the whole life. Like we are starting at birth. That is ridiculous. No, I kept it concise.
Starting point is 00:11:40 I know, but then you jumped to the other thing and I was like, okay, we are not going to go through every single step. Did you choke up? At one moment and I just kind of paused and was like, part because that's okay. I told her, I said a line. It was like, you have and you remain my built-in everything. And at that moment, I was like, oh gosh, the tears are coming. And you composed yourself?
Starting point is 00:12:05 Yeah, I like took a moment and then I continued. Because then right after it was like a funny joke. Sounds like you wanted to propose to her right then. Yeah. That's pretty romantic. And then what did you say? What was your funniest reference? So a really funny moment was I had note cards and I said,
Starting point is 00:12:20 okay, his name's Seth, her husband's name. And I was like, okay, now on to Seth. He's handsome. He's witty. And then I showed him the note car. I was like, Seth, I can't read your notes. I don't know what you said. That's a good one.
Starting point is 00:12:32 And he got him. Like, he had no idea what was happening. Everybody died. How'd you end it? What was the closer? I said, cheers to you guys. I hope you love growing old with her as much as I loved growing up with her. That's a good one.
Starting point is 00:12:47 That's solid. Dang, did you steal that or did you make that up? Oh, no, I didn't make that up. I found that online. Oh no, that was awesome. I was like, that's really good. Yeah. Because I teared up when I saw it online.
Starting point is 00:12:55 I was like, oh yeah, I got to add that in at the very end. Were you nervous when it started? Yeah, I was shaking. Which is, I think it's because I knew so many people in the room. People are like, you talk on the radio every day. I'm like, you guys don't get it. I sit in a room with five people that I know. And then we talk to a bunch of strangers.
Starting point is 00:13:10 It's so different when you know everybody in the room. You have note cards? Yeah. And I kind of flubbed. Apparently they're somehow mixed in empty note cards in my things. Oh, the notes are like, that's throwing them. That's throw. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:21 It always got you in the office where Michael Scott gets up and he's not asked to give the speech, but he gets up. And he's like, say it yours. Oh, hilarious. It's like, wedding is defined by Webster's Dictionary as the fusion of metals. Welded. Yes. He looked up the wrong definition. Love it.
Starting point is 00:13:39 That's good, though. What would you give as advice to people if they have a speech, a maid of honor or a best man's speech coming up? I would say that you keep it as good. concise as possible, which I know is really hard because you probably knew this person for a really long time. You start out with a few memories and you make sure to address the other person. You talk about them together and then you close with like a good like happy, excited for your next phase of life kind of thing. That was a good template I used. You put you do that yourself or you still up on the internet as well? No, that one I came up
Starting point is 00:14:10 with myself. I would have said I made up the last line. Change a couple words. Paraphrase. Said by Morgan. Yeah. But that's, I mean, it's helpful. Like right now. Now someone can do it in their speech and they can be like, oh, I heard. You have to credit Morgan now if you were. A girl, like, yeah, a morning show I listened to it. A wise woman named Morgan once said. Your boyfriend was in an Instagram picture I saw. First time you had really shown him.
Starting point is 00:14:34 Yeah, still a little soft launch action. Kind of from the side. Oh, that was him. Oh. Well, she's holding a hand with. I don't know. I don't know. The groom?
Starting point is 00:14:43 Yeah, maybe the groom. That's really close for the groom. Okay, I got to go back and look at that. How did it go with him and your family? He got rave reviews I had so he was I mean I was off doing stuff I had so many made of honor doing
Starting point is 00:14:56 so he was kind of on his own for quite a lot of the day and he I would have people coming up to me at the end of the night and they're like dang he's so awesome he might be cooler than you and I was like are you for real and so I'm actually shocked
Starting point is 00:15:07 like he got really good reviews coming from someone who has had some bad relationships they were like yeah you finally got a good one did your parents or your family ever tell you when you took a boyfriend home that man this guy's kind of a douche or do they wait until afterward
Starting point is 00:15:18 to be like I always knew It was always after. Yeah. Because they, you know, they're like, you have to figure it out for yourself. And most of the time, they wouldn't know everything until after. I kept things private until then I was like, oh, well, this all happened. Sorry. Eddie, you look in the picture?
Starting point is 00:15:33 Yeah. I see it. No, I saw it, but like, I just thought it was some random dude. She's holding his hand. And they're in the field. It's not like they're on the dance. Wow, this is the dude. This is the guy in uniform.
Starting point is 00:15:44 Man, in uniform. But you don't see his face. You just see kind of the side. You see a little bit. I mean, it's like a profile. That would be the side, yeah. Yeah. That's the side.
Starting point is 00:15:52 That will be the side. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Well, I'm glad it went well. Thank you. That's good. That was really good. You know, it's hard to do stuff in front of people, a bunch of people you know.
Starting point is 00:16:02 And there's the expectation of nailing it when you don't have to, you just have to not suck. Not sucking is nailing it. And I got worried because like the best man did a like roast and it was good, but it was like nine minutes long. So I was like, I feel like mine was a little bit better because it's concise. It can be too long. And then everybody's like, all right, dude. Unless you're killing. And he did get lots of laughs because it was a roast.
Starting point is 00:16:25 But then, you know, you don't want to roast too hard because then they're like, okay, my guy, I get it. Can I, did I do anything right? They should have let the shorter one go first. And that's what happened. I did do it. But then I heard his. I was like, dang, you got a lot of laughs. Oh, you can be jealous.
Starting point is 00:16:38 No, you don't be jealous. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. There's a video going viral on social media of a mom opening up the deliver. box and inside is a cap and gown that she never got to wear at her 1982 George Washington University Law School graduation. Why does she not get to wear it?
Starting point is 00:17:03 She was on her way and got into a car accident. So she never got to go. She was later able to complete everything, got her law degree, but just never experienced the honor of a graduation ceremony. Well, one of her kids just graduated law school and kind of got the idea of like, I've got my cap and gown, let's get mom a cap and gown and do a little graduation ceremony with her now. Because she did graduate. She just didn't get to have graduation. Yeah, all these years later, it was just something she shared with her kids. It was kind of, she worked really hard to be a
Starting point is 00:17:32 part of that big moment and she didn't get to experience it while she did finish her degree and practice law. She just never got to have the graduation. That woman is what I would call Bizarro World Lunchbox, because exactly the opposite thing happened with him, where she graduated yet didn't get to walk. He walked, cap and gown, but did not graduate. Right. That's true. Yeah, because if you're within a certain amount of hours
Starting point is 00:17:56 and you're supposed to finish it over the summer or whatever, they let you walk the stage, it's just your diploma is empty when you get to the end of the stage. So mine had nothing in it, and I was going to take that final class and then... Life, man. Fame. I mean, all of ours are empty, right? Like, mine was empty, too, but I graduated.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Mine was empty because... Mine was... You didn't graduate either. And you held a seat. for us forever. I did, but then I went back. I went and finished my three hours. Yeah, yeah. He did. And I have a degree. No, mine wasn't because they handed you a, a flat part thing. And the diploma was in that. Oh. We didn't, we didn't have the thing where they handed you like a scroll. We had two in my Socrates. No, no, ours was a little thing like we opened it up. Oh, no, no, ours was like shake a hand and you get a flat, hard cover and inside of it is your diploma.
Starting point is 00:18:41 Oh, cool. Yeah. Mine was empty and the inside said. No, yeah, we get it. It said, sorry, try again later. But I did hug the president of the university. I gave him a big old bear hug. All right, shout out to those kids. That's pretty cool. Good story. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good.
Starting point is 00:18:55 So Lunchbox asked to do a Tell Me Something Good, but he wanted to do a tell me something bad. And I was like, I don't want to do Tell Me Something Bad because he's all upset. He didn't get a reward because he found somebody's wallet. Has he told you guys that story? No. Okay. Where did you find the wallet? At the airport, we were doing curbside check-in.
Starting point is 00:19:14 We were rushing. about to miss our plane. My wife's there. I'm throwing the car seats out, throwing the car seats out. And I look and I'm like, oh, there's a wallet. And I just,
Starting point is 00:19:22 I pick it up and I look inside, no cash. What are you hoping for cash? Home for cash. Yeah. And I see the guy's name and I just yell the name out. And this like elderly lady,
Starting point is 00:19:34 grandma, probably 75 to 80, turns around, she goes, that's my husband's wallet. Oh, so they just dropped it. She was like, he went to go park the car.
Starting point is 00:19:44 He helped me unload the bags. We're going. on our something anniversary, 55th wedding anniversary our vacation would have been ruined. She says all of this when we just yell a name. I feel like it's a little hyperbole here.
Starting point is 00:19:55 No, no, no. I was like, well, I just found it sitting here. You know, this, I didn't give you my dialogue. There was a little conversation, but everything she said to me was like, it would have been ruined. Thank you so much. And I was like, I know you don't have any cash, but my Venmo's if you want to sit here. Yeah, right. You did not say that.
Starting point is 00:20:11 No chance. You did not say my Venmo is this. They were going on a two-week vacation. And it's been over a week and a half and there's been no Venmo to my... Do you think she has Venmo? I mean... I mean, I'm just thinking my dad was like he definitely... I mean, he's late 70s and he did not have...
Starting point is 00:20:26 Let's not lose the headline here. You don't have to be rewarded for everything. Somebody dropped their wallet. Yeah, but I could have just kept it and they would have never been able to go on vacation. Sure, you could have. Yeah. But have the number of people that have like caught your dog when it's escaped. Found something of yours.
Starting point is 00:20:41 Not my wallet. I mean, that's a big deal. I saved their anniversary trip. And they're grateful for it. But I don't think everything has to be rewarded through, I'm going to give you a few bucks. I mean, heck, the person of Starbucks wants a tip for pouring me a coffee and I don't get a tip for saving their vacation. There's not a tip line. No, there is.
Starting point is 00:20:57 I gave them my tip line. And as Amy said, now she may not have understood even what Venmo was. Oh, she no. Come on. You're not owed a reward, though. You're not owed a reward. You're not owed a reward. Unless there's a Wild West poster on the wall.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Oh, that says reward? Reward for this much or a dog. You're not owed a reward. It's simply if somebody goes, I would like to give you this based on what you did for me that you like to do, but you don't have to. It was almost a tell me something good. We had a chance for, like, we read these stories about these.
Starting point is 00:21:29 How much did you have wanted? 100 bucks? Saved their entire vacation. They had just dropped it and you picked it up. Yes, they were still there. You know, he was gone. He went to go track them down. They had no idea.
Starting point is 00:21:41 I'm glad you did it. He would have no idea. Here's what would have happened. He would have parked the car, got on the shuttle, gone to security. But you're doing all of what he coulda, should have, should have a hood of. I'm going to tell you. But he would have got to the security and be like, oh, my wallet. He would have thought, oh, it's back in the car.
Starting point is 00:21:55 So he got back on the shuttle, gone back to the car. And it wouldn't have been in the car. And he would have had no idea where he lost it. Or he had just retraced his steps and it had been there still. If we're just creating stories. It is a tell me something good. The old man is reunited with his wallet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:11 And hey, hey, and it didn't have cash. Okay. Hey, ogre. Somebody goes to the airport on a two-week vacation with no cash. Right. Ran, okay. They didn't have any cash. We couldn't prove it.
Starting point is 00:22:25 I could prove it. I saw it. Exactly. If it did. You looked in it for money? But he could have taken it and come with this whole story of it. Because I said, oh, I know you don't have cash. Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:36 But maybe you're saying that because you already took it out. Nope, didn't do that. I don't think you're owed a reward. Good job, though, dude. I think the reward is that you help somebody because people have helped you in the past. And hopefully somebody will help you again at some point. Boom. That's the reward.
Starting point is 00:22:50 We always read these stories about people. Oh, and then they get their reward. They meet up and they have a good reunion. Nothing. So you're still waiting for the reunion. I mean, anything. You know, like, oh, you saved my life. Dinner?
Starting point is 00:23:02 Like, what do you want? Anything. $100, dude. He wants $100. $100 bill. That to him is what he feels is appropriate. I hope they're living it up wherever they were going. me too
Starting point is 00:23:12 I hope they're living it up wherever they were going or if they got back and they're doing it because you did a nice deed and people have done nice deeds for you and we like that and do nice deeds for somebody
Starting point is 00:23:20 if you can it cost you nothing to do a nice deed correct I mean it costs me time why do I feel like we're talking to a child and not a 43 year old man the question is
Starting point is 00:23:31 the top ten things Americans regret buying we're going to play the Bobby feud a new poll asked 5,000 Americans if they've ever regretted buying certain things. Now, it looked at categories instead of specific products. These are the top things that Americans have had buyers remorse with. Okay. Regretted buying
Starting point is 00:23:55 lunchbox, you're up first. Ten answers on the board. What do Americans regret spending so much money on? Go ahead. Workout equipment. Like a treadmill. It just hangs closed. That's a good. Show me fitness equipment. That is your number six answers. They're 10% of people because they never use it. Yeah. Okay. I don't even know if people buy these things. Nah, they buy those things.
Starting point is 00:24:28 Give me that fancy car. That's good. Fancy car. A car. Okay. Show me a car. A vehicle is at number four. Okay. Things Americans regret spending their money on.
Starting point is 00:24:45 You have a vehicle at four and fitness equipment at six. I don't even know how these things work, but I see commercials for it all the time. If you regret buying your timeshare, call me. I don't know what it is. I would bet you the percentage of timeshare buyers that regret it is extremely high, but I bet you there's not a lot of timeshare buyers. I don't know what that means.
Starting point is 00:25:06 There's a place that's a house, right? There's a house. See, buy a house. No, but you buy five days a year. Like you own like 3% of it, but you only own like these five days a year that you can go and use it. Oh. Like sharing.
Starting point is 00:25:19 So, okay, so like you don't buy with people you know. It's just like random people. It's not timeshare, by the way. But that is a good one. I think most people probably regret buying times. I see that commercial. Let's go over to Eddie.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Eddie 5,000 Americans were asked. What do they regret buying? This is a big one. A boat. Show me a boat. I think probably not a lot of boat buyers in America. You're probably right. There's some boats, but most people don't buy boats.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Okay. Well, I'm a troll. Amy. Produce. What? Hello. I mean, that's funny. Tomatoes.
Starting point is 00:25:53 No, but sometimes that's how frustrated do you get. Sometimes you're like, oh, I can't believe my boss. Lettuce tonight. Never ate it, and it goes bad, and then you regret buying it. Not there. Okay. I tried. Yeah, we had time sharing lettuce.
Starting point is 00:26:08 That was very interesting. I think we were going there. All right, points are doubled, lunchbox. All right. The top ten things Americans regret spending their money on. Go ahead. Close. Show me close.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Close. 34% of us have bought an item of clothing and regretted it almost instantly. Yeah, how many are left on the board? Only three are gone. You have seven left. You have clothes at one, a vehicle at four, and fitness equipment at six. Okay. House!
Starting point is 00:26:39 Show me house. Number eight answer worth 16 points. Wow. Don't regret that. 51% of people said they've made at least one major purchase in the housing market. Through their life, they ended up regretting. Dang, dang, dang. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:56 All right. Here we go. You ready for it? Give me that stock. Give me that stock. It takes. You get in and it goes kerplunk. It's like, oh, no.
Starting point is 00:27:10 Show me a carplunking stock. Lunchbox has 28 points. He is dominating. Points are doubled. Eddie, over to you. I mean, this isn't me. I'm just saying maybe some people would regret this, but go pet. That's not bad
Starting point is 00:27:25 Wow Show me fluffy That's good Yeah thank you Amy points are double Lottery tickets Lottery tickets Who regrets that
Starting point is 00:27:39 Well when you lose Spend a bunch and you lose Lottery Points are tripled Lunchbox you're the only person on the board You are the king dingling of the feud today Hopefully it's still another round They're going to catch me
Starting point is 00:27:54 But give me that jewelry Number seven answers, King Ding. Fire. Woo! Jewelry. Yeah. He gets it twice.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Closed at one. A vehicle at four. Fitness equipment at six. Jewelry at seven. A house at eight. Things Americans regret spending money on. Lunchbox. Furniture!
Starting point is 00:28:21 Show me furniture! What honor. Number five. We can't catch him. Oh, man. Oh, man. What else is there? What can you regret?
Starting point is 00:28:33 Gret buying, man. Furniture. You can still catch him. We can. Oh, that's good. Go with that. I don't think that's it, though, man. Top 10 things Americans regret spending their money on lunchbox?
Starting point is 00:28:46 Tickets. Tickets. Oh, playing like, we got it. We're here. Sorry. Eddie, you got to get on the board. If you run, there are four left. If you run all four of these, you can win.
Starting point is 00:28:58 He has 64 points, but points are tripled. Yeah, that's tough, man. I thought I've had some good ones. and I didn't come close at all. So let's go with electronics. Show me electronics. Number three answer worth nine points. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:29:13 And I'm in trouble, though. Three answers left. Americans regret spending their money on this. Ooh, this just came to me, Bones. How about a gift card? Show me gift card. What? Number two answer gifts.
Starting point is 00:29:29 26% of people have bought something for someone else and wished they had gone another route. Oh my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I'm on a roll. But I got nothing now. There's only the 9 and 10 answer left. If you get the 10, that's worth 30.
Starting point is 00:29:43 If you get the 9, that's worth 27. And you have 15. So you would win if you can get both of these. Americans regret spending their money on blank. Number one is clothes. Number two is a gifts. Number three is electronics. Number four is a vehicle.
Starting point is 00:29:56 Number five is furniture. Number six is fitness equipment. Number seven is jewelry. Number eight's a house. What do Americans regret spending so much money on? I'm going to go with a riding lawnmower. Stupid. So stupid. A vacation?
Starting point is 00:30:17 No. The nine answer for 27 points is a vacation. And can you hit the number 10 answer? Maybe. I'm just thinking like a... You've already got second place you can't win. Okay, hair. What's something that you maybe?
Starting point is 00:30:34 My hair? I get like a hair appointment. Plastic surgery. What? No. No, I was thinking... Not bad, though. I just asked Amy what do you in lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:30:42 What? That's not... What do you regret money being spent on? Wedding. That's so good. That's so good. Wedding wedding. Dang.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Wow. All right. Our win. Fighting lawn mowers. Thank you, Eddie. What dumbest answer ever in this game. Hey, good job, lunchbox. All right, this is from Blake.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Go ahead. Yeah, I was wondering if we could get an update on Amy and Lunchbox's Lerpeas over of vacation, did they heal up? Had they gotten worse? What's going on? Love the show. Thank you, Blake. So they had these bumps, both of them, on their legs.
Starting point is 00:31:19 And I thought they were leg herpes if I were diagnosing them. That's where they both had them. Yeah, it was odd. Like, I was like, what, my leg joltz just like that. You guys been Indian wrestling in your shorts. Except for mine was down by my foot area, like my ankle. And his was on his hip. Even weirder.
Starting point is 00:31:36 That makes more sense. When I say Indian wrestling, do you know what that is? No. You lay on your bag and put your two legs up and then you're like arm wrestling both your legs. Oh, okay. Well, yeah. Then that makes sense. No idea if that's even allowed to be said.
Starting point is 00:31:48 But it's not insulting. It's just, what? Would you say like, can you say criss-cross? No, I don't think it's insulting. Okay. I don't know either. I'd never heard of it. I don't even know why it's called that.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Interesting. Interesting. Yeah. Well, then you wouldn't get it. You lay on your back and you go one, left you like two, let you like three. And then you take like your right leg. and their left leg and you put them against each other
Starting point is 00:32:13 and you push to see you can turn the person over first. If that for some reason is not... Acceptable? And it's called Indian leg wrestling, not just Indian wrestling. You found it? Yeah, because I used to do that and I was like, what is he saying?
Starting point is 00:32:26 But they call it Indian leg wrestling. It's not any sort of slur. No, it has roots deeply embedded in Indian culture and history. I'm pro American Indian. That's cool. Yeah. Dodge the bullet there.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Also, I wonder if that's a slur. Dodge the bullet. Everything we say now, we go. Oh, God, where did this come from? Yeah, anyway, I thought you were Indian leg wrestling. No, we weren't. There you haven't. No.
Starting point is 00:32:48 I'm all healed up, though. You are? I still have the bumps out there a little bit. Is it moving up toward the midsection? No, but then also the other, the second pair of bumps where it hurts when I could hit my hip. Like, I thought it was shingles. Still bother me. Indian wrestling on Urban Dictionary.
Starting point is 00:33:02 Wrestling in which two people lie side by side on their backs in reverse position, locking their near arms or raising their corresponding legs and attempting. to force each other's leg down and turn the other wrestler face down. Who did an Indian wrestle? I was all conference. Why did you guys do this? Oh, that's Webster? Oh, I don't even go to Webster.
Starting point is 00:33:20 I go to Urban Dictionary for everything. I do too. Why would you Indian wrestle so we could pay an homage? Yeah, I don't, my friend Lauren, her dad, her stepdad owl, was the one that introduces into Indian leg wrestling. Wait, that's weird. Her stepdad was doing that with y'all as kids. No, no, he's like, I'll do that with you.
Starting point is 00:33:38 Yeah. Yeah, I was picturing him. was the first one that showed me Indian Lake Rush. Well, it had to be an adult that showed me, too. I just don't know which uncle it was. It didn't have to be an adult. It was definitely an uncle, though. No.
Starting point is 00:33:47 It's always an uncle. What? Here's Amy's pile of stories. Food purses are summer's hottest accessory. Now, is that using real food as a purse or a purse that is leather or plastic that looks like food? So it's a purse that looks like food.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Like... There's some that are even partnering with brands like Heinz ketchup, that type of purse is an option. It looks like a ketchup bag. And then the string looks like a squiggly line of ketchup. You know, it's a fine line between like kooky and goofy and cool. And that fine line is having a brand, like a designer brand put their name on it. There's also a bottle of tums available.
Starting point is 00:34:30 The frozen cocktail glass, a berry basket bag, sparkly watermelon purse, cherry pie. Like, there are all kinds of purses available. and in trends too, I saw that socks with sandals are now a thing. Never not been a thing with me. Oh, gosh. It's not good, dude. Mostly because if I have calluses or blisters on my feet, I like to have socks, but I also like to wear sandals. So it's not that I'm combining them for any reason other than comfort.
Starting point is 00:34:58 But socks with sandals, let's go, especially black socks with sandals. Now we're rocking. You're that guy. All right. So there's a lot of concerns about deep fakes out there and AI generated images. audio, video, especially with the election year that's going on. So I have what experts say will give you a clue that it's not real. Okay?
Starting point is 00:35:18 I would say Biden rapping sounding like Drake, not real. Yes. I would say Trump or the British accent, not real. It's still kind of, you can still kind of tell. There's a couple that are good, like the Tom Cruise guy is good on TikTok, but mostly if it's still AI generated, for the most part, there's like tiny little ways you can still see it. Well, they say look for oddness around the mouth or chin, like zoom in and really look for that.
Starting point is 00:35:43 Pay attention to strange sentence structure or speech. Also look for extra fingers, hands or limbs. That extra finger will get you. I put my picture in a, no, I described, because I have this app called like Remini or something. And what you do is you describe whatever you want. And they create a picture. And they're like, do you want to use you? And yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:02 And so I have a picture of me. And I'm holding a baby, but I have like nine fingers on one hand. really bizarre because it just makes like 20 pictures of you as a police officer as a and one of them i think maybe as a surgeon but i'm holding a baby and it's got i've even nine fingers on one hand bizarre oh yeah wait what's this app called you don't want it why it's not for you what does that you don't need to put any nine fingers in their dating profile hi i'm amy oh no one of those a i generated she's got a nose coming out of her neck doesn't realize it don't worry about it okay i'll show you the picture it's creepy though all right what else you got uh if you could have
Starting point is 00:36:36 something named after you, like besides the show. The Razorback Football Stadium. Oh. That would be cool? But I don't want to die and I also don't want to have to give $200 million or whatever else. Yeah, because Luke Brian, he now has his own hospital wing. He and his family, they are proud financial backers of the new wing
Starting point is 00:36:52 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee, which shout out. Spent a lot of time there with my dad. And Luke said, yeah, our children were born there. They've been in the emergency room more times than they can count. So it made sense to be a part of that. And they just love the team there. And so it's really cool. Also, they have their Brett Boyer family and foundation.
Starting point is 00:37:11 So just the way that they're giving back. And now it's got his own wing. Pretty unsolvish with them. Me, I think of football. He thinks of helping people. That says a lot about each of us. All right, good job. I'm Amy. That's my file. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Mike Burton, he's at Myrtle Beach with his family vacationing. He's in the water. He gets caught in a rip current. It flips him over. He drowns. He goes unconscious.
Starting point is 00:37:40 And his family sees him on the beach. He says, oh, my gosh, somebody help him. A family is nearby. They grab him, drag him to the beach. Lucky for Mike, there are four strangers on the beach that can help immediately. Two doctors, two nurses. They go into action, CPR, call a helicopter. He goes to the hospital.
Starting point is 00:37:55 He's on life support. You know what? That was a week ago. And now, Mike, he has relearned to walk. He's ready to celebrate his 27th wedding anniversary, and he's back at work. So who were these doctors and nurses? Do they all know each other? Were they from the same hospital, same doctor's off of?
Starting point is 00:38:09 Like a beach retreat? Yeah, was it? Oh, yeah. Like a convention, shop with a cop and all of a sudden you rob a store. You don't know if they're together? Don't know if they were together. But Mike has no idea who they are and wishes he can meet them. Oh.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Where is this again? This is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. If you were in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, because our show was on there. When was this? What day has all this happened? Is that all that paper there? It's not on here. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:31 And you save someone's life with three other medical professionals. Call us because we'd like to do the reunion. ring unification. That'd be awesome. That would be cool. Good story. You ever been in a rip current? I have, but I just let it take me. Okay, that's called a wave. No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:38:47 No, you get pooled hard. That's exactly what it is. Don't fall for this. Let it take you, man. All right, that's it. Thank you. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. This is Kendra from Houston. I was calling because I was listening to an episode from December 1st, 2022. to Amy was talking about how she has to put in applications for getting a new winning song,
Starting point is 00:39:09 and you guys kind of bypassed it. But it was hilarious, and that was a big deal from back in the day. But I wanted to see if anybody else now wanted to change their winning song or whatever. But anyways, yeah, love the show. For the people that are listening on the radio live or streaming live, you get to hear the music that we play. For example, if I win something, this is my winning song right here. You're unbelievable. If Amy wins something, this is her winning song right here.
Starting point is 00:39:35 We pick these songs we like. Now, if you're on the podcast, you don't get to hear it because we'll go to jail. We can't put any music up on the podcast. But Amy, your winning song has been that. Before that, what was it? I don't think we let you change, because Amy wanted to change like every week. I did. I did change to that.
Starting point is 00:39:51 I want today to be Taylor Swift. Yeah, it was juicy. Oh, there was a juicy song. Yeah, yeah, yeah, years ago. Yeah, yeah. And then I petition to the Lizzo one. Here's lunchboxes. All I do is we.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Here's, here's Eddie's uncle. This is actually Eddie's uncle. Yeah, my Theo Fufa. Here's Morgans. If Ray happens to get in a game and win, which rarely does he get in, even rarer does he win, this, I'm on a boat. I'm on a boat. I'm on a boat.
Starting point is 00:40:29 That's all our winning songs. Ray looked at me like, I don't have my song ready. But if we sang our own winning songs, the podcast people could hear them. That'd be terrible. All right, let's do the morning corny. Here we go. The morning corny.
Starting point is 00:40:43 How does the moon get clean? Meteor showers. That was the morning corny. So Dan and Shay, Dan's wife, Abby. Abby and Dan have a dog. Dog has cancer. And they've been talking about kind of the journey to make sure that this dog live.
Starting point is 00:41:06 They love this dog. We're close with Abby and Dan. They are very involved in a dog charity that we're also involved in, but not near as much as they are. It's like their life. They love these dogs. So the story was that they have this dog. They take it to the vet. They're like, something's wrong.
Starting point is 00:41:23 And the vet was like, no, I think it's all good. Send the dog back. And Abby's like, I don't know. So she goes to Dr. Josie. Dr. Josie does a podcast called In the Vet's Office. Dr. Josie was like, no, this dog has cancer. that's how they found out the dog had cancer. The first vet,
Starting point is 00:41:41 apparently it was like, no, I think, so here is Dr. Josie talking about, they took a sample from the dog after they already went to one doctor. Here you go. So in looking under the microscope, it was a lot of red blood cells, and then there were some,
Starting point is 00:41:54 a couple questionable cells where I was like, I think we should have the pathologist, look at this. Yeah. So then we sent it off to the pathologist. Yes. And then it unfortunately came back
Starting point is 00:42:04 with what is indicative of sarcoma. And that's Abby on with her. They talk about this on the latest episode of in the vets office. Doctors are human. I have to remind myself that sometimes, doctors, vets. And I really do have to remind myself that because I just feel like they are a lowercase G. God.
Starting point is 00:42:24 And they are all knowing and they're doctors. So I must just trust them. And I do. And we have to. But I would just be like, okay, doctor cleared it. I guess it's all good. Yeah, I guess it's just a good reminder to. I'd get second opinion.
Starting point is 00:42:37 Humans are regardless, humans don't always do the right thing, don't always make the right decision. And not, they don't have not done a purpose. But have they not gone to a different doctor? They would have never known the dog had cancer, which is crazy. So Abby Smires is on in the vet's office with Dr. Josie. That being said, I'm just believing it. I'm not going to.
Starting point is 00:42:55 I've never done a second opinion. I just believe everything my doctor have ever told me. Yeah, I mean, I don't think I've had anything serious enough to where I need to get a second opinion, but. Or have you in the doctor, told you it wasn't serious. Well, then we don't know yet what is developing inside of me. Ominous music plays.
Starting point is 00:43:14 No, just a good reminder. Abby Smyers talks about Dan and they have a dog named Ghost. And it was a foster dog. They had foster all kinds of dogs. They was a foster dog and they had Ghost and they bought Ghost a Tuxedo to be in their wedding photos. Here's the story. His whole neck and chest were gray even though he was an all-white dog because he had been
Starting point is 00:43:36 chained outside. I said, okay, we'll take him and we'll figure it out with the wedding. Dan was in charge of getting their outfits for the wedding. Their outfits showed up in the mail, and there was a dress for joy and two tuxedo. I was like, Dan, did you get ghost a tuxedo? And he said, yes, I did. I said, okay, well, if ghost is in our wedding photos, then we're obviously keeping him. He was like, that was 1,000% my plan.
Starting point is 00:43:59 So he was in the wedding photos. That's when you know, you made it. And that is the end of the first half of the podcast. That is the end. of the first half of the podcast. That is the end of the first half of the podcast. You can go to podcast two or you can wait until podcast two comes out. Thank you all. This is me letting you know because of all the messages that this is the end of the first half of the podcast. Thank you. All right. This is the end of the first half of the podcast.
