Starting point is 00:03:01 Wow, what a great day. Thank you guys. I appreciate you guys coming out. Wow, such a warm applause there. You guys do stop cheering rather quickly, though, all the sudden once. You're talking, that's why. I know, I know. I was just, I told Ray before he hit record, I was like, hey, hold on a second, but I don't think you heard me.
Starting point is 00:03:14 I have to leave a voicemail for my American Idol dressing room. He's going to hop over. I've only ever made one diva demand on American Idol. You want to hear what it was? Yes. Well, it was last two days ago. I was like, hey, guys, I have to stop shooting. Arkansas playing Baylor.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Like, I need to finish what I'm going to finish because I got to go watch this game. It's the most important thing to me. And they were like, you got it. I don't make diva demands. I'm just happy to be there for the most point. But I'm about to make, not a demand. I'm about to just ask for something.
Starting point is 00:03:40 And you can tell me if it's diva or not. So this is your second one in one week? Well, this isn't a divot demand, but they always want to know because sometimes we're there for all day, all night. Sometimes we're not. Sometimes it's a four hour shoot. Sometimes we're there for 13 hours,
Starting point is 00:03:51 especially if it's right before a show. And so they ask, hey, what do you want in your green room? and mostly for me it's just water and granola bars and stuff like that but i'm going to leave a voice memo and you guys can hear it okay okay okay hey in my green room they've been leaving these green smoothie juice type things and i ordered those way back in the day when kately was in there i don't like the green juice that much i don't like all green can you ask them to if they're going to go to that creation place to get more of a fruit type one just because uh i don't like all the like juices that are made out of leaves and parsley.
Starting point is 00:04:30 So if they could do like a strawberry or some kind of juice, that would be better. Not a strawberry juice. I don't, just something more fruity. All right. Thank you. Thank you. You know what? I wanted to hate a little bit, but that's not too bad.
Starting point is 00:04:45 That's not too bad. It was just a little undecisive. Well, I didn't know what to say. They're like 10,000 types and I just don't like the green. Yeah. That's all you can. That's all you had to say. But I wanted to hate, but it wasn't too bad, Benz.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Why did you want to hate, though? Because I thought you were going to go real like, oh, look, look, I want green M&Ms. The water was a little cold. Let's make it a little more tap, a little more room temperature, but not one bad. Oh, you know what we do too sometimes? And I need to leave a whispermo about this. Hey, yesterday we stole a bunch of coconut waters out of the room and took them back to the hotel. Don't forget, they're in Tom's bag.
Starting point is 00:05:20 So leave them before we go back in the room. All right. Thanks. We're total hillbillies at that place. Oh, yeah. Eddie, we go in and if there's something good that they leave, they're like, hey, here it is. And we don't eat it that day or use it. We put in our back to take it back to the hotel or I'll fly it back to Nashville sometimes.
Starting point is 00:05:35 When we do ready to eat stuff, my kids would love when I got home because they're like, all right, what's in dad's back? What are you bring back from the green rooms? Yeah, you can take me out of Arkansas. I can't take the Arkansas out of me. That for sure. But yes, that is, that's what's up. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:05:52 I got that cleared. I have a pile of stuff I wanted to talk about. I think Eddie heard me giving Mike notes and went to hand me. And he was like, well, that's weird. That's a weird combo of stories. The NFL will now play 17 games. Eddie, you know about this? Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:05 How you feel? I mean, I feel like it's just them trying to make up for lost money last season because they didn't make any money because all the stadiums were empty. So I'm saying, I'm thinking they said, guys, we need to add one more game next year so all the stadiums can make money and teams can make money and then that's it. And then they're just going to keep it going and make more money. So, Eddie, it's such a small piece as ticket sales.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Such is such a small piece. Yeah, but I mean, you got to think the whole year was lost last year. They got to make up some of that. It was it, though. TV revenue money is where it's at. Sale, yes, they didn't make as much, but they didn't, they weren't hurting, I guarantee you. And they've been trying for 17 games forever. Why? Explain to me, like, what's the whole, why do they want to add one more game?
Starting point is 00:06:45 Well, because it is more money, but it's, they're not doing it because of last year and hurting and hurting. Like they're not going, oh, because the players are going to get, in the end, what they do is they negotiate with the players' union and things are broken down percentage-wise. But it's not because of COVID this is happening. Oh, okay. The season also won't start earlier. People are excited about that. It'll be extended. And so each team still only gets one by week.
Starting point is 00:07:10 The players will benefit financially. They won't get paid more, but as a whole, they get a share of the revenue, which I was talking about, which is, I think, 48%. but now it's just going to go up a percentage point. So by adding a game, what will happen is in future years, the contracts will get bigger because there's more money to then spend on contracts. Does that make sense? Yeah, it does. And hey, as a fan, I like it.
Starting point is 00:07:32 I mean, more football for us. Here's the weird part. Not every team's going to have the same number of home games. Oh, weird. Because you have 17 games. And they're going to have to figure out who's playing who's, you know, home and away. But listen, I'm a fan of them having more games. I'd love if they cut
Starting point is 00:07:47 an exhibition game or two those are terrible The preseason games? Yeah Oh yeah I just want to see you know Quincy Carter get some snaps
Starting point is 00:07:55 with the Cowboys Those were the days I think he can really do it He's you know Play great The Congressman Matt Gates Is being investigated over Investigated over a relationship
Starting point is 00:08:05 With a 17 year old And so Florida's Matt Gates Had a sexual relationship With an underage girl And paid her to travel with him According to reports and investigators Now this is a whole story
Starting point is 00:08:15 if true, terrible. What it reminds me of, though, is the Jerry Seinfeld story. Which was? And I didn't say anything illegal, but where this Matt Gates guy may get in trouble is, I believe the rule is you can't have someone travel over state lines.
Starting point is 00:08:32 And I don't know the rule on 17 and 30 in Florida anyway. I'm just reading that article because it led me to this story here. So Seinfeld, when he was 38 years old, he was dating a 17-year-old back in the day. 1993. Crazy, huh? Yeah, we've talked about this, I think.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Here's the story from, I believe, people. Real life, Jerry Seinfeld, comedian, TV star and Life Observer, was strolling through Central Park one day in May 1993 when he spotted a stranger he now calls, quote, the most wonderful girl in the world. Seinfeld, then 38, walked over, made small talk, and went away with the telephone number of Shoshana Lowenstein, then 17, and a senior at the private Nightingale Bamford School in Manhattan.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Oh, my goodness. He's 38. I would tap out for it not being creepy at about 22. Even then I would go, that's maybe a little too old. But 38. I'm 40. I'm about to be 41. That's pretty close to that.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Yeah. No chance. Yeah. And I think you really get the feeling of that, like, when you have a daughter and you see her at 17. You're just like, she's not ready to do date. She's not ready to date a man, man. Like, she's not ready to make any kind of big decision like that. And that's just, it's very creepy to me.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Weird story. and you hope that Matt Gate stuff isn't true but, boy, it does not look good at all. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Jen Shaw arrested charged with fraud. Now I watch Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. You're forced to watch it? At first.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Now you just love it. Well, I don't pursue it now, but I don't fight it anymore. Because I kind of know the people a little bit. Like I know, you know, but there's one girl in there, Jen. Her and her assistant have been arrested in charge by the feds for involvement in national telemarketing schemes where they would go after elderly people
Starting point is 00:10:19 or after they've already gone after them give their info to other people who could defraud them. They're charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering and get them 50 years in jail. She was filming season two yesterday. Everything went down. I saw them walk her out of the house.
Starting point is 00:10:35 The cops. TMZ was out there too. I don't know how TMZ got a shot. Maybe just somebody recorded it and sold it to TMZ. How do they get everything? I guess they just get it. Because again, TMZ wasn't out there for Morgan Wallen.
Starting point is 00:10:47 They broke it. The neighbor is the one who recorded it. Which by the way, you know, I went to our bosses weeks ago and was like, hey, how long are we going to not play Morgan Wallen? Like, what's the plan here? Because I just want to know. Like, what's the plan? Because I don't make those decisions, obviously. And it was, what I was told was, because I'm an advocate of, okay, what are you going to do?
Starting point is 00:11:13 Never plays music again? let's let's be real here like what do we need to know so that we feel good about re-embracing him i feel good about it now but it's not my decision to do so and i said um what are we doing here and they're like you know what i don't think they're they're even asking for it right now i think morgan's away getting himself to the place where he's better they're better and i was like great that's all i needed to know like i'm not trying to hold some guy's career hostage over something he can come back from. And they're like, he's still, you know, on his way back. I think they've been talking to his people. And so I just wanted to know. I think most people want to know. Like, what is the plan?
Starting point is 00:11:52 I don't, I don't get to schedule music or program music. But I think that's it. I think everybody's just kind of in a holding pattern, including him and his team. For me, I'm just going, what are we going to do, penalize this guy for the rest of his life? Like, let's let it, let's give him a shot to to, however he feels he needs to redeem himself do it. I talked to Jimmy Allen about that on the Bobbycast a couple weeks ago too. But it's an interesting situation. What are your thoughts? That's a good update.
Starting point is 00:12:18 I mean, I think a lot of people are wondering that. And I think that people really are still fighting like the play Morgan Wallen. And that's good to know that really it's not in radio's hands. So that's good to me. But at the same time, so I don't follow him on social media. Is he doing anything? Because I see older. No, nothing.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Okay. Nothing. So then he's really just taking a break. And I think people should respect him for that. I think it's a good thing. I mean, on my TikTok, every time I post anything, if I'm like, look, here's a picture of my shoe. They're like, play Morgan Wallen. I know.
Starting point is 00:12:47 I know anything. And I'm like, guys, listen, I don't have a problem with Morgan Wallen. My only stance was at the beginning was when I can play him today. And I think he probably needs to go and adjust some stuff in his life and then come back and let's talk about it then. And that's what he's doing. That's exactly what he did and is doing. I saw a post about like you and the wedding or whatever. And people would just, I don't care about your wedding.
Starting point is 00:13:07 When are you going to play Morgan Wallen? It's good to know that it's out of our hands. yeah it's and if I just came on and played it I get in so much freaking trouble because I think the company is working with that team over there like they're working hand in hand don't think they're not but that's a whole that's a situation it is developing Kendall jimmer Kendall jimmer Kendall jimmer Kendall Jenner is beefing up security after a guy swam naked in her pool
Starting point is 00:13:31 oh how does someone that rich and famous end up having somebody slipped to the cracks and get naked in her pool like how do they get in there I think you got to I think we assume that the security is way better than it really is I assume they're like ex-Russian agents dressed in all black with a gun all the way around, you know, holding it out. You would think, but do you see that, do you ever see that clip of Suzanne Summers, the girl that was in Thre's company? Like, she was recording something in her house and some dude just walks up and she goes, hi, like, how did you get in here? He's like, oh, I just walked in the back door. Really?
Starting point is 00:14:01 Yeah. And he's just there and standing there and like, okay, well, we're going to escort you out because you shouldn't be here right now. Dang, luckily he didn't attack her. I know. He didn't seem like he had the intention. to attacker. He was just trying to get in somewhere. cauliflower-flavored peeps now exist. Thanks to
Starting point is 00:14:19 a collaboration with Green Giant. Is this an April Fool's joke? What is it? cauliflower peep? Yeah. I don't know. Coliflower flavored peeps. I just can't see that happening. I just can't see that being something people buy. It does.
Starting point is 00:14:37 You know, VW changed their name to Volkswagen, not Volkswagen, Volkswagen. Do you see that? Oh, because they're doing an electric car, right? Volkswagen, but I think they've said now that is an April Fools. Like, we're going to start to see what's going on. Okay, guys. So what about this Pepsi Peeps? Is that
Starting point is 00:14:55 April Fools? You see that one? Are they yellow? I don't know, but there's like a Peep's flavor. But that makes sense. I don't eat, I don't like Peeps that much. But I would eat a Pepsi peep. It's two sugary things. Those are real? Those are real, Mike? We have to play this. This is dumb that we have to play this game. Like, real or not? I mean, let's be honest. Okay, we're going to go ahead and tell you guys an April Fool's joke that we've been pulling on you guys for a year.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Eddie doesn't have any kids. Let that be crazy? It's just been all story. Eddie doesn't know that either. They've been fake kids from other families. We've planted in his house just recording a lot of footage of him living. Well, they're mine now. One dose of the vaccine is still 80% effective.
Starting point is 00:15:32 That's pretty good to know, huh? Yeah, that's awesome. I got one dose in me. I'm about a good dose too. When is that for you next week? Monday, Monday. Monday? Monday.
Starting point is 00:15:41 And they plan, I've planned out a little time for me to be sick. That's how it works, right? You schedule your time to be sick? It's like a week in advance. I've given myself a full day to be ill. So if it doesn't happen, that'll just be a day for me to chill. If it does happen, great. But I cannot be sick for more than one day because I have an Eric Church album release special to record.
Starting point is 00:16:00 So let my calendar know that I can only be sick for a day. I think that's it. Let me mention this Lil Nas X. shoe controversy, by the way. I don't know anything about it. People stop falling for this. Stop falling for it. People are like,
Starting point is 00:16:17 listen, I'm not comfortable with it. I don't want shoes that have a pentagram on it with human blood in them. But all this is meant to do is to create attention. That's it. The biggest thing is, people are like, cancel him off country radio.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Like, he ain't on country radio. I can't cancel him. He's not on. But this was just a ploy to have people talk about it and make a little money and people are falling for it. Stop, just stop talking about it. You want it to go away? Stop talking about it. The end. He's not a devil worshiper. I mean, I don't think he is. Not that, not that I know. Yeah. But in throughout the history of music, artists have used the devil to create hype. Lots of them. Yeah. Every generation
Starting point is 00:17:09 someone does this. And then every generation, you have people at church creating sermons about it and it's a culture war. And you know who wins the culture war? The artist.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Metallica's not devil worshippers. Dang, that's truth. Led Zeppelin, they didn't sell their soul to the devil. Ozzy didn't. This is just something people do to get you to talk about them and to get people
Starting point is 00:17:31 to be upset about it, the same people that were never going to buy, purchase, consume their material anyway. But what it does is those people, obsessing over it, puts it into the mainstream, then everybody reads about it, and the people that weren't bothered are reading about it and going, let me check it out, and then they benefit. What's the deal with Little Nas-X? Like, that's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:17:57 Don't get butt hurt. Just move your butt on. Nobody cares. It's not real. You're being played. Every preacher is saying, hey, this is the devil's work. No, it's not. It's a PR team.
Starting point is 00:18:10 You're being played. Stop being played Look in the 60s, the 70s, the 80s, the 90s They do this over and over again And he's getting richer You're getting played Anyway, that's all It's just creating a culture war
Starting point is 00:18:34 And in this culture war No one on the side against him Was really consuming him anyway He's making money He's making shoes I ain't buying those shoes I don't want the 6666 shoes they're getting sued by Nike as well
Starting point is 00:18:48 Nike has nothing to do with it the end just remember one thing about this you're getting played I think we'll remember that yeah all right I think that's it for now I'm tired
Starting point is 00:18:59 I've kind of it kind of does sound like Seinfeld a little bit though huh oh when you say that yeah for sure yeah yeah you guys have a great day follow me on Instagram Mr. Bobby Bones
