Starting point is 00:02:02 It took an army of internet detectives to uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Gillespie and Michael Marencini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences.

My next guest, it's Will Ferrell. My dad gave me the best advice ever. He goes, just give it a shot. But if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration.
Starting point is 00:02:48 It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot in life. Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, everybody? Welcome to Wednesday show.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Morning. All right, we're going to start with a pretty cool guest. Here we go. On the Bobby Bone Show now. Jackson Dean. Give me a quick story about don't come looking. It can be like the first time you played it. The first time you played when everybody sang back.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Like, this is, you know, first number one for you. Give me something about this song. Absolutely. First time I ever really heard him sing it back. And it wasn't just this one that they sang back. It was, you know, Trailer Park, Phyllis, don't take much, wangs, all my stuff. I was in Spokane in this little, it was like a 600-person shack, and it looked like it was like a 200-person shack on the outside, maybe. One of the hottest shows I ever played in my life, like walked off stage and projectile vomited after the show.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Yeah, and it was it was me and Brandy, you know Brandon, my guitar player. It was me and him and it was awesome, man. They, they, I'll never forget, I was standing there, Guns and Roses cut off T-shirt and try, I couldn't take, I want to strip so bad. But, but yeah, we were all right on the edge of Spokane, the Nashville North out there. And they sang every word. And, but yeah, man, it was. We've had a lot of great times to that song and, you know, you just go up to the mic and if I don't come back and you drop and then they take it. You take it. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:04:49 You make sure you want to run through a brick wall. Heavens to Betsy. What do you want our listeners know by this song? That song is a lot coming at you. It's one of my favorite written songs that I've done. We went so hard on the musical part of it because it's all that the man died with. It's all the unspoken love and everything that he never got to say. And that I'm proud of.
Starting point is 00:05:12 And I just hope everybody that hears it, loves it. And yeah, how about you? Jackson, dude, you're awesome. You know, I've been saying it to you for a long time, but I appreciate the time coming on. And hope you have fun on those European dates, man. See you soon. Thanks, brother. I'll see you soon.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Merry Christmas. See you, Jackson. Hello, Bobby Bones. My fiancé is planning our wedding. We both seem to be leaning towards making it an adult-only wedding. I know there are only some friends that will have issue with this, but it will be an issue. And seriously, no kid wants to go to a wedding.
Starting point is 00:06:00 And we don't want to deal with the drama that can come with bored or loud kids. Obviously, we get the final say, but I'm curious what negativity can come from friends and family when you tell them the kids have to stay home. Signed, adults only, any. I did have a childless wedding, child free wedding. However you want to say that.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Wasn't dramatic at all because I think people just know and understand me that when I say something it's not hurtful or not hurtful, it is just a way that we have decided. decided to go and that's the way it is. I'm different because I'm not a people pleaser. It sounds like you are a bit emailer and so we're going to work with that. You are a people pleaser. So I'm going to go to my people pleasing friend Amy. How would you handle this? I'm working on it. I'm not full alone. That's not a bad thing. Yeah. I just think that you have to do
Starting point is 00:06:43 what's best for you and that's what I would encourage you to do. And people understand. How do they say it though? Because you have a heart. You have a heart when you communicate. Yeah. I think that if there's someone that has kids in your life and you really care about them, there are exceptions to the rule that you could include their kids and that's okay like my daughter was at your wedding. Oh, only if they're in the wedding. That's true. So you might have, you know, ring bears, flower girls, stuff like that where they could be in the wedding. If not, then you just say, hey, I know this is difficult and maybe if they're traveling or you have to make arrangements, you have to get a sitter. But ultimately, we just decided this so it's going to be best for us and I hope you can still make it.
Starting point is 00:07:17 No, Jonathan has to come with this. Oh. See, she's pleased already. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's the problem. No, I would just be like, okay, well, sorry, we're not doing kids. So if you can't make it, I totally understand. That's what you say.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Is creating and holding boundaries. And that was me holding it right there. Oh, we had to work with you to get there. Yeah, but that's okay. I got there. He did get there. Just in general, it's hard to create boundaries because they're uncomfortable. To create a boundaries because something is uncomfortable or can be uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:07:47 So you create a boundary, you stand by it. They don't have to like it. They do have to respect it. and to say we have found that it's going to be easier for all involved. There are no kids. We've decided no kids. So we're not going to do kids. I'm really sorry. That's it.
Starting point is 00:07:59 The end. I hope you can figure it out. And then say, that's what you ever having kids. Like end with that. It's your fault. Like, go to a little, yeah. Child free weddings aren't normal. But they happen.
Starting point is 00:08:06 So it's going to be met with an abnormal response of probably people not being happy about it. But look at it as a night out. And also you have so much money, you only have so much money to spend. You can use that too. We only have so much money to spend on the wedding. And if kids are coming, we don't have, we can't pay for all that food. So we've decided to invite more adults that we couldn't get in and no kids will be there. Yeah, I really feel for local people, it's not going to be that big of a deal.
Starting point is 00:08:26 It's the out-of-town nurse. And the kids that really wanted to go. Yeah. Fourth graders everywhere. They love wedding cake. Yeah, good luck. Set the boundary. Boundaries are hard, but they're hard because they're worth it.
Starting point is 00:08:37 They're healthy. And you know what? It's not fun to eat healthy food. But you know what's good for you healthy food. Boundaries are healthy. Create you want. A voicemail from Brandy. This message is for AV.
Starting point is 00:08:47 much for advertising about the craft body scan. My husband and I got it done in October. They ended up finding a lump in my breast. So now because of the craft body skin, they were able to find that I have breast cancer. I just love y'all show. I listen every morning. Thank you again, Amy.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Oh, my gosh. Wow. That's amazing. Can you tell me what that is again? Well, so you can go in and you get a full body scan and it'll show results. At craft body scan. It's a place I've gone and done it myself.
Starting point is 00:09:19 In every, like major city? Mid-city? Yeah, there's, there in a few different cities. I do it here in Nashville, but they're in other markets as well. And you may not have any symptoms at all whatsoever. That's the crazy part. And then something will show up on the scan, and then they can look further into it. Thankfully, all my scan showed was, well, I had some cysts on an ovary, but my doctor said they were fine.
Starting point is 00:09:42 And then I have some pending kidney stones, but nothing's passed, so we're good. I wonder if it's easier for a kidney stone to come out of a woman than a man. Because the hole's bigger? Oh. I don't know. What hole's bigger? Well, if kidney stones got to come out of you, it's going to come out of your pee-be-hole. And it's very, very painful.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Sometimes I'll use a laser and bust it up, but the holes it's different. But the holes is different. Should I explain that you all to hear? Uh-huh. Okay. Woman hole, big man hole? Woman hole's bigger than the man-oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:07 How do you think a baby comes out? Do you think a baby come out of your pee-be hole? That's a different hole. He's thinking of a different hole. He thinks kidney stones come out of a different hole. It comes out of the pee hole. Yes. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:10:15 Well, I don't. No, no, we need to talk about this off hair. Because you are, you are very wrong. There's multiple women. But in the end, though, it's got to come out of the main woman home. You think the woman pees out of the big hole? Okay. Guys, we're going to... Eventually it does.
Starting point is 00:10:29 We're going to all talk about this. At the end, yeah, we need a big meeting after the show. Yeah, yeah, but I guess my point is that big hole, though, I feel like that because the big hole... You're crazy. It says, no, generally speaking, passing a kidney stone is not considered easier for women than men. I thought so. I thought all your bodies were like stretch armstrong and through the history of time more so than men's because we've never had to pass anything. True.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Right. I understand the different holes. We do pass something big sometimes. The back. Okay. No. We need a whole, we need a conference on this. You know what?
Starting point is 00:11:04 We need a whole whole story. I thought that women's bodies were a bit more elastic because of through time you guys have had to. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I need to learn about this. Maybe, maybe, yeah. I still think, like, even though... Because I don't think it comes out of the baby hole. Yeah, that's not the same exact, like,
Starting point is 00:11:21 that even that's super painful. Yeah, but it'd be easy. Well, listen, if it's out of the baby hole, that'd be much easier than an RP hole. I would just think RP hole is so small. Oh. Mm-hmm. Have you ever seen one?
Starting point is 00:11:33 Bobby. Okay. Okay. We're going to draft the best Christmas movies ever. Ray Mundo is the first pick. Ray, best Christmas movie ever. Go. National Ampoons.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Christmas vacation. That's for you, Baser. Your wife? Yeah, we've already watched it five times, probably 20 before the month's over. Wow. What's the appeal for you guys? She knows every quote. Second pick is lunchbox? I didn't see that. I didn't see that coming. I'll go with Elf. That's a good one. Man. Yeah, I thought that might be the first one, honestly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's why. But Ray did it for his wife. You know what I don't respect that. Also respect you lose almost every time. But you know what? He's loyal.
Starting point is 00:12:13 He is loyal. Eddie? Man, those were definitely my top two picks, but I'm going to fall down to a Christmas story. You'll shoot your eye off, kid. Okay. Only for irony, going home alone. Oh! No, you're so horrible.
Starting point is 00:12:34 You know that I actually think that's a Christmas movie and it's one of my favorites. I'm going home alone. My favorite Christmas movie ever, Home Alone, baby. I'm mad Christmas. The movie don't exist for that Christmas. Okay, Santa Claus. Oh, you're already jump up. I like it. You ready. I'm going to say next pick. Amy jumped in with Santa Claus.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Let's go. So Amy chose in the Santa Claus. That's a great one. Thank you. Yeah, that's good. I mean, you took Home Alone for me. That's fine. I've been a Home Alone Christmas fan forever. No, you haven't. So you're not even. Yeah, no, I know. A Home Alone Christmas is often the theme we do at our house, too. It's awesome. Okay, so first round everybody's in.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Amy will go backward now, since this is a snake draft. You have the Santa Claus. What's your next movie? Four Christmases. Another one you were in? No. No. That's holiday harmony. Got it.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Good one, Amy. Got it. It's really funny. No, this is with Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspin. Tim McGrath's in that one, too. Oh, yeah, Tim McGraw. Shut up. Okay, so it's over to me.
Starting point is 00:13:31 I'm going to go with How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Solid. Kids love that one. So good. Yeah, and I feel like I'm going to get credit for both. The movie and the old school cartoon. Like, I feel like people see that.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Whichever one they think of what they're going to vote for. There's like four versions of that movie. You're good. Okay, okay, Eddie? Um, I mean, no one's gonna pick It's a Wonderful Life, so I'm gonna hold on on that one. That is old. No one's gonna pick that one. So, I'll take Polar Express.
Starting point is 00:14:09 I've never actually seen that. Oh, it's good, dude, you'd love it. Or do you just love Tom Hanks? A both. Okay, both. Are they talking that one, or is it silent? No, no, they're talking. No, I've never seen it.
Starting point is 00:14:19 Is it silent? I know if it's like a train ride. Like Charlie Chaplin. Okay, okay, okay. lunchbox. Yeah. Give me a Charlie Brown
Starting point is 00:14:29 Christmas. Ray Mundo. Just saw this one for the first time about a year ago. Jingle all the way with Schwarzenegger. It was really good.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Anyone else seen that? Yeah, it was good. Never seen it. I don't watch a lot of Christmas movies but so I'll just take a word for it. Okay, so that's two down one round ago. Ramundo, you'll go first.
Starting point is 00:14:54 So far, your team is Christmas vacation and jingle all away. Jingle all the way. There you go. And what is your third pick? This one may just nullify one of your picks. Give me Home Alone 2.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Not as good. The movie is just not. Is that whether they go to New York? Dude, I don't know. Yes. I think. I don't think it's an equal out of mine, though, if I'm being honest. I'll be honest.
Starting point is 00:15:19 I forgot there was a Home Alone, too. Yeah. Lunchbox, do you have Elf and a Charlie Brown Christmas. Your third pick? Yeah, since Ray did it for his wife, I'll do it for my wife. Love Actually. Dang it. What he means?
Starting point is 00:15:29 Is he doing it for himself? So good. You know he's crying over there. He loves that movie. Okay. And Eddie. Oh, man. Do I just go with it?
Starting point is 00:15:38 Because it's one of my favorites. It's a wonderful life. But I don't know if people are going to vote for that. It's so good. It's so good. Go with your heart. Amy really wants you to have it. No, I like it.
Starting point is 00:15:47 I like that. She really want you to have it. I mean, Amy's going to take it if you don't. No, I watched it last Christmas. It really is good. It's so good. But I'm going to call an audible. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Whoa. Go ahead. Give me die hard. Nice. I'm going to go with its wonderful life. No! It's good. You win it.
Starting point is 00:16:03 You're such a dude. Eddie just doesn't take it. I was shocked. I think I've picked it every year and I never win. Yeah, you ought to hold. I was like, I'll be accepting that. I don't know them, so that sounds good to me. Amy.
Starting point is 00:16:13 The holiday. What's that? It's the same vein as love, actually, but... Cameron Diaz? That's not the one you're in? No. How did you not take holiday harmony? I'm in holiday harmony.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Oh. Because that seems weird to make... She didn't even know the one she was in when we played the clip of it last week. Well, it sounded familiar. I just was surprised. It was you. So here's what we have. Everybody has a team of three.
Starting point is 00:16:36 We'll load them up on the internet. We don't put the names on them. Take a minute, go vote on the team. Don't just vote the first round pick. Vote for the whole team. And we have a winner. Raymundo has Christmas vacation. Jingle all the way.
Starting point is 00:16:47 And who can forget, Home Alone, too. You! Lunchbox has Elf, a Charlie Brown Christmas, and Love Actually. Eddie has a Christmas story, Polar Express and Die Hard. I'm an idiot. I have Home Alone, How the Grinch stole Christmas, and it's a wonderful life. Amy has the Santa Claus, four Christmases, and the holiday. Go put your votes up. If you have a minute, I go to Bobbybones.com, they'll be up there.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Good job, everybody. Except Ray. Oh, I ain't last. I bet you are. I bet you are too. Yeah, you are. No way I'm last. Eddie's is real bad.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Yeah, that's pretty bad. The Bobby Bones Show. Merry Christmas and happy holidays. Carly Pierce here. My favorite thing about the holiday other than red wine is that I get to hang out with my family and soak in all of the wonderful things that have happened in the year and the wine.
Starting point is 00:17:40 A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me. Clever Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media.

You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that, trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends...
Starting point is 00:19:07 Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, everyone? I'm Ego Wodom. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live,
Starting point is 00:19:50 and the Big Money Players Network, it's Will Ferrell. Woo, woo, woo, woo, woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with him one day, And I was like, and dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come, look for up and coming talent.
Starting point is 00:20:11 He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Starting point is 00:21:37 The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in so much, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Lesbian and Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Americopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges.
Starting point is 00:22:25 This isn't over until justice has served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Tell me something good. Alvin is a mailman from Dallas, Texas, and he's been doing this for 20 years, but he's also a Marine Corps veteran. So he's at work, he's going through his mailbag. And at the very bottom, he finds these old letters.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Like, what is this? It's a Christmas card from 1942, which is World War II. Do we think that no one had gotten to the bottom of the bag? I guess there are like so many hamptors in like the mail room or whatever that sometimes the mail just gets lost in those things. Would you call them a hamter? Hamper.
Starting point is 00:23:12 Hamper. But from 1942. And he's like reaching the box. Gee. So he finds that and a bunch of other letters from that same time. He's like, this is crazy. He looks at them. They're addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamb of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
Starting point is 00:23:27 He's like, these are World War II letters. from a soldier. So he got in his own car on his day off, drove 379 miles, found the people that it was addressed to, and delivered to them themselves. Were they still alive? They're still alive, yeah. I mean, the family, somebody of the family, whoever owned that house, whether it's like a daughter or a son or whatever, yeah, they were still there. In their 80s? I'm going to be willing to bet that if that mailman wasn't a former veteran, it's veteran now, but a former military member, he wouldn't have done that. I don't know. Some male men are good, But I bet that meant extra to him because he had also served.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Yeah. And also I hear that like if you can get a job as a mailman, that's like the greatest job. Why? Benefits. It's like a government job. You get all the holidays off. Yeah, but they all seem like they're in a bad mood. Not my mailman.
Starting point is 00:24:12 My man's like always nice. But people at the post office don't seem very happy. But that's not a mailman. But also sometimes people in line at the post office, the customers can be equally as rude. And the lighting in there's just weird. But also not a mailman. Those are postal worker. There's a distinct difference there.
Starting point is 00:24:27 I'm always weirded out by the male man or male woman, whatever, with the steering wheel on the wrong side. Yeah. You guess they can go to London and just like kill it. I don't think about that. Just like drive like awesome over there. They feel better driving in the UK. That's a great story. That's what it's all about.
Starting point is 00:24:43 That was tell me something good. Is it cool for someone to tell their spouse a secret that you told them and said don't tell anybody? Because most people in a marriage tell their spouse everything. Correct. So the question is, are you the spouse that tell them? your person everything, even though it's a secret, or do you also keep the secret from your spouse
Starting point is 00:25:03 if it's not about them? Yeah. It's pretty easy. No, so when I was married, he didn't tell me things. He was military. Yeah, that's government cloud. You'd been on the air.
Starting point is 00:25:14 I'd been like, Beijing, we're coming. We'd been like, oh, call it off. No, not even work-wise. Like, it is... An invasion? Yeah. It is best friends. Like, he would be like, oh, well,
Starting point is 00:25:26 he would just say, well, you know, that parts between, me and Kevin or whatever he would say. What a great cover? I would respect that. That's between me and Kevin? Get out of here. Because also.
Starting point is 00:25:36 If he tells Kevin secrets, he tells yours. But we were all, like, and my sister's married to his best friend. It's sort of like, you know, he tried to respect that because then we're all close and that would have been weird. Lunchbox? There ain't no chance. Someone comes to me and says, hey, keep this secret. I ain't tell my wife.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Yeah, that's how Ben was. No chance. And she doesn't think that. She would respect that. be like, hey, you're loyal. Like, that's good. Someone can trust you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:02 If, let's take the spouse out of it. If you tell somebody a secret, they should never trust you because you just told somebody else a secret. Why should they tell you theirs? That's right. You're not understanding. I know, I hear it's not the spouse, but go ahead, Eddie. You're one.
Starting point is 00:26:17 You and your spouse are one person. Like, whoever tells you something should automatically think that you're going to tell your spouse. 100%. Oh, so that should be in it. Like, I'm going to tell you the secret. I don't tell anybody. parentheses, but your spouse.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Exactly. Then you got to trust if the spouse has got to... No, see, you can't. That's too many loose lips. But then you tell your spouse, hey, it's between us. Don't tell anyone. Yeah, right. But then you're...
Starting point is 00:26:39 I mean, people talk, man. The less people that know, the less chance it gets out. Loose lips, sink chips. Yeah. Has Caitlin told you what I told her? No, and I don't think it's... I think if I really were like, I really need to know something. I don't know what that means.
Starting point is 00:26:54 That's very vague. Well, I just seen what your face did. Oh, no. She won't. She won't, but I don't even want to know. Okay, yeah. good she didn't then well give him a hint because he doesn't know what you're talking about he didn't he doesn't know
Starting point is 00:27:03 he doesn't know I could tell I don't yeah no I don't know anything I don't also don't want to know yeah I'm good with that too the lesser I'm involved and stuff the more I got more drama I got to deal with yeah I don't know that I the only thing she'll tell me something sometimes that has nothing to do with you guys like a secret of hers and she'll be like you can't tell anybody and I'll go please tell Eddie you have to ask you all one yeah we're one
Starting point is 00:27:29 Boom. But then Eddie goes and tells his wife because Eddie tells his wife everything. Right. True. But my wife's not telling anyone, yeah. Okay. Who she won with? crap. I don't know. Okay. Caitlin. And it makes it back. And a new poll, 10% of people say it's always acceptable to tell your spouse other people's secrets. It's not always. Always is not. 10%. Amy, now it's never. 10%. You're in the minority. Another 29% say it's usually fine. Oh. 20% say it's never acceptable. That's the one I'm talking about. I don't know that it's not. never. Never. I don't like...
Starting point is 00:28:01 And it's pretty much the same men and women. Definitive words. Amy, do you tell him stuff now even though you're divorced? No. What if he's like, I'm dying to hear a secret? No, he wouldn't. Who says that? That's it. Yeah. I'm dying to know a secret. You don't tell him? No. Okay. Yeah, we're not big secret house. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:28:21 She didn't tell me. I don't... Y'all are one, but you're not one. No, it's just like I don't care enough about people's secrets to even have an interest in secrets. I'm not supposed to know I'm good. I'm all good. I don't like gossip. But if she tells you, she tells you. But I also think she's not going to tell him. Yeah, she's probably also not going to tell me. And she also doesn't like gossip, at least not to me. Because I'm just like, that's stupid. I want to waste my time worried about that. I get that. Yeah. You like, you like a little gossip, though. I don't. I don't like gossip, but I mean, I'm all ears. I'll take gossip. I'm open. I'm over. You know, for business? Yeah. Okay. We wish you are Merry Christmas. We wish you a Merry Christmas. We wish you a Merry
Starting point is 00:28:59 Christmas Re-Wish on the Barbie Bum show Officials are reminded of people that when you travel for the holidays don't forget to unplug all your battery chargers Like all your chargers Because they just stay plugged in And we think about, we leave our lamps and stuff plugged in
Starting point is 00:29:17 Because I definitely don't walk around the house Unplug, unplug, unplug, I don't No But they say, and that's not what the story is saying But this is why I'm reading it here All your chargers, they're the most dangerous thing They catch fire in your house Oh
Starting point is 00:29:30 So if something goes wrong, and look, and some are better than others. Like, I would say the quality of the Apple charger is better than one. And I've bought them at the gas station last minute because I don't have a charger in my car. Those get hot. Yeah, they do get hot. And so if you just leave these things plugged in for a long time, they can explode, start a fire. They can also release toxic gases. What?
Starting point is 00:29:52 So, yes. So if you're leaving your house and not even saying they're bad to be plugged in, but if you leave of everything plugged in, they are the most dangerous. Unplug your chargers. Okay. I guess I'm going to have to do that now. I want to do it when I go to work.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Yeah, I know. I want to unplug it all the time, but I leave everything plugged in. Even if it's not plugged into the device, like, right, no, it's just plugged in the wall. Because the box could get hot. Dude, I never unplug those.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Especially the gas station ones. Those are bad news. No, no, no. Sometimes I go and I touch it. I'm like, this is so hot right now, but I'm like, oh, well, charge my phone. Yeah, go get you a packet of yellow jackets and a charger for the gas station. Call it.
Starting point is 00:30:29 know what I mean? There's another thing I want to talk about was we'd always heard that if you eat like after a certain hour that that's bad for you and I'm going to read this
Starting point is 00:30:38 from Oregon Health and Science so this from Oregon University eating after 8 p.m. has traditionally been the normal sleep schedule at time not to eat because you go to bed and your body can't process it
Starting point is 00:30:51 and you gain weight. They say if you feel like a bedtime snack, go for it. You can eat after 8 but it does kind of matter what you eat which always is the
Starting point is 00:30:59 case, they're like, look, sweets and treats, doesn't matter when you eat them. It's going to affect your body differently than if you were to eat something a bit more nutritious. But if you were to eat something that isn't terrible for you, like last night after eight had a cinnamon roll, big one. It's great. It doesn't make this list. It doesn't make this less of good things. But they're like, as long as you're not eating crap after eight, it's not going to do the same thing. So you can't eat after eight or a bedtime snack. Don't deprive yourself is what they're saying. But that's an an arrow was eight. It was so A plus. I warmed it up. Was it homemade or what?
Starting point is 00:31:28 No, we got... From somewhere? Yeah, St. Jude's sent them to the house. Do what? And they were awesome. Yeah, and so they were frozen and I put them in the microwave. It was awesome. You did that last night?
Starting point is 00:31:38 Yeah, I think I had three. And I don't really do a lot. I try not do a lot of sweets tonight, but they were... This is not an exaggeration. I was walking in a room and I heard, Bobby. I said, what's up? Oh. And I felt crazy.
Starting point is 00:31:50 And I went to open the bedroom, Bobby. And it was a cinema rolls. I were talking to me. Wow. I know. And I had three. I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Yeah, it's great. No choice. It's great. So after eight, it's okay. Just be careful with what you eat after eight. Belis Navidad. Belis Navidad. From the bottom of Bobby Juan.
Starting point is 00:32:12 A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what I'm saying. Yep, that's me. Clifford Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media.

Starting point is 00:33:20 There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist.
Starting point is 00:33:49 I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe.
Starting point is 00:34:09 On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Ago Wadam. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and The Big Money Players Network, it's Will Ferrell. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings.
Starting point is 00:34:42 I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This week on the Sports Slice podcast, it's all about the NFL draft. And we've got a special guest. The director of the NFL's East West Shrine Bowl, Eric Galco, joins the Sports Slice podcast to
Starting point is 00:35:36 break down what really matters when evaluating draft prospects. From hidden traits teams look for to the biggest mistakes franchises make to the players flying under the radar. This is the insight you won't hear anywhere else. If you want to understand the draft like an insider, you don't want to miss this episode. Listen to the Sports Slice Podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Starting point is 00:36:03 In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in so much. I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Some lights the greatest disinfected.
Starting point is 00:36:35 They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Alespian and Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Americopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Poles have found people will spend about $2,000 buying gifts and for about five to ten people. How many people are we buying gifts for? Let's not count work because it's kind of a bit. What's your gift list? I actually have a little thing. I have keeping a tally on my computer right now, so I just pulled it up. Work people don't count?
Starting point is 00:37:30 Yeah. Okay. Yeah, about 10? 10? Good. I mean, what are people, you kind of have to? If you're buying it, it's not because you really want to. It's because you probably feel like you need to. But 10 is good.
Starting point is 00:37:43 Eddie, what about you guys? So, like, you kind of my whole family because we buy for like in-laws and all, I mean, we might be at like 25. Do you all not draw names? No. And we do now, too, because we didn't want that happening. Yeah, once the family grows, it's good to draw. We never draw names. Well, you guys spend over $2,000 in total?
Starting point is 00:38:00 Yeah, yeah. You have to draw names. Every year, dude, it's proven. And are you the one shopping or is it your wife? No, no, I don't buy any of it. I just, you know, supply the money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:10 Excuse me? You know, like, you know. If you're going to say it, though, say it. You don't have to like dance around. Whatever you just says, yeah, I don't know, supply something. But if you're going to say it, say it. So like my wife uses my credit card to buy the gifts. Your credit card.
Starting point is 00:38:22 I'll say that. What do you mean you're the credit card? She has her own credit card. Well, no, it's got my name on it. What? She doesn't have one with her name on it? I don't think so. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:31 It's just interesting how you look at that. But she has her own card and it just has my name on it. That's legit. No, it's not legit. It's just the way it is. Uh-huh. And you see that it doesn't matter. So you guys spend over $2,000.
Starting point is 00:38:44 Clearly, yes. All credit card. Yeah. Do you pay it off immediately, like try to so you don't have the interest? Absolutely. Yeah, yeah. A majority of people put on a credit card for extra savings. On average, you'll be working until May of 2025 before you pay off those 2024 holiday
Starting point is 00:38:59 credit card bills from Talker Research. Do you have conversations with your wife about like a budget on gifts? Yeah, yeah. She'll clear it with me. She'll be like, hey, I think this is what we're going to buy for so-and-so. I'll be like, that's perfect. She'll clear it with you. Why do you talk this way sometimes?
Starting point is 00:39:14 No, no, I'm not. It's just the conversation we have. You just said, yeah, my wife does it with my money and my credit card and she clears it with me. I didn't say it forever and you have four kids. You didn't say that. No, I did exactly how you said it. You did say that.
Starting point is 00:39:26 You didn't say that. Yeah. Anything you'd like to say, though? No, Merry Christmas, man. It's a beautiful time of year. That's what you're saying. Just Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:33 Okay. Is there a limit? Yeah, it depends on who it is. Oh, so the closer the person, the more you can spend? Correct. Like the kids, like, I'll just say for my kids, they have one big gift and there's, after that, there's like, there's a limit. Okay. But what about people that aren't, like, in-laws?
Starting point is 00:39:53 In-laws? Are some of them tiered? Do you have favorites you spend more on than others? No, no, not the in-laws. They're all equal, but there is a cap on the in-laws. and then brother's sisters, way lower. Like your brother's sister? Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:04 Like her sisters, way lower. My brother and my sister, way lower. And who made the rules? We both did, collectively. Of course, yeah. Well, thanks for sharing that, man. Merry Christmas, everyone. It's a beautiful time of year.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Every time the bell rings. An angel gets... Credit card to chings or something, yeah. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. Nurses are angels among us. Like to even do that job.
Starting point is 00:40:31 It's like nurses and teachers and first responders. Like, I don't have that in me. A big shout out to nurses. And here's one specifically. So the nurse's name was Desiree. And there was a patient. The patient was not doing good. They knew the patient wasn't going to make it.
Starting point is 00:40:44 But the patient had a dog named Bear Bear Bear. And the patient passed away. But Desiree also wondered what happened with the dog. They'd bring the dog up. They'd see the dog occasionally. She was like, man, what happened? She couldn't find the dog. knew nobody had taken the dog.
Starting point is 00:41:00 So she searched for it for 11 days. Finally, it's because the dog was just, it run out of the house. Because he didn't go home. So the dog's out. Finally, the SPCA of Texas rescued him from animal holding, and then she adopted him. She adopted Bear Bear? Because she knew Bear Bear's owner and he died and the dog didn't have a home. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Angels among us. Nurses, man. I know. So a big shout out to Desiree, the nurse, and Bear Bear Bear. I wonder if my dog would even care if I would even know if I die. Yes. Yeah, they do.
Starting point is 00:41:33 Or would it just be wait. Like if he got fed, he probably doesn't even. Dogs don't have a concept of time, I hear. That's what they say. Yeah. But you know, that sublime singer, when he died, his dog died like a month later or like a couple weeks later. But that doesn't absolutely mean that one affects the other.
Starting point is 00:41:46 He was lonely. Broken heart. Yeah. Maybe. Yeah, man. Thank you. That's what it's all about. That was tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:42:01 on the radio on and the dial just keeps on turn. It's more game two. The Steve Red Abbott's trying to put you through. Mike is writing this week's next bit. Now Bobby's on the mic so you know what this is. This is the Bobby Vaughn's story. Time for the morning corny. The morning corny.
Starting point is 00:42:30 What do you call an elf that just won the lottery? We call it elf that just won the lottery? Wealthy. Wealthy. Well, thank you. That was the morning corny. I believe if you talk about your dreams, nobody cares. If you talk about your fantasy football team, nobody cares.
Starting point is 00:42:47 But I have a recurring dream that my right eye works. It's crazy. I woke up and covered my left eye to sit. It was so real that I thought my right eye worked. It's how bad all my eyes to work, my vision to work. My right eyes never worked. I didn't really realize I was that sad about it until I woke up and it didn't work. So my right eye, I think is 8% vision.
Starting point is 00:43:06 my left eye is not great either. It's why I wear glasses. My right eye is so bad. Glasses don't help at all. But I woke up this morning and I was like, oh my God, does my eye, like something? Didn't. Just think it's trying to tell you. Well, what do you think is that's trying to tell you? I don't know. I don't think it's giving me a sign, you guys. I know you guys love signs. Yeah, yeah. I just think I'm a little more sad about that I don't have, I've never had good vision in my life. Well, that could be maybe a sign that this is something you need to fully grieve. I can't grieve a bad eye. Yeah, you can. Like have a few. Funeral for your eye.
Starting point is 00:43:37 Great point. Grieving isn't. Maybe we do that. No. Maybe later this week we have funeral from my right eye and I can move past it. Okay. We are gathered here. Bobby Bone Show.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Bonehead. Story of the day. This story comes us from Cleveland, Ohio. A man was out just on a drive on his motorcycle and joy in nature. When all of a sudden he hears, woo, woo, woo, behind him. And he pulls over and they go, uh, sir, you were doing 147 miles an hour. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:44:04 He's like, oh, sorry, man. I wasn't paying attention. I was just looking at nature. Any chance he wasn't paying attention doing $150. No chance. Right, no chance. And also, you're probably not looking at nature. He's just enjoying the drive.
Starting point is 00:44:16 You're probably dialed in because you're like, all right, let's go. Because you're flying past cars. But I got to say, like, this morning, I must have gone through multiple lights, but I don't ever remember actually doing it or seeing that they were green. And I started to freak out that they were red and I just ran them. I don't know. Like, I just, I'm on autopilot. Like, maybe he's just cruising.
Starting point is 00:44:39 I just don't think 147 cruises because it's, you got to put in work to get it to go that fast, like extra work. You, on the other hand, I'm not quite sure what's happening here. To be fair, I will get places too and go, I don't remember anything about getting here. Because I've been thinking about something. Yeah. But I just trust that. That I didn't run a red line. Yeah, that your subconscious is guiding you because you've done it so many times and knows exactly what to do.
Starting point is 00:45:04 Yeah, I hope I saw green. that's crazy that you that's what I was thinking because I know I have multiple lights that's scary yes that's why I'm cheering it with you no not for all of us yeah for people they're
Starting point is 00:45:16 we share the road with you yeah but I'm also concerned I don't want to hit anybody I guess it's just focus I have to focus on not grinding my teeth now I grind really badly and so I have to
Starting point is 00:45:30 and I'll catch myself doing it I'm gonna okay I'm aware like during the day or when you sleep day and sleep. And so maybe that's what you should do. When you drive, you have to check in every once in a while. I'll be like, okay, am I running red lights?
Starting point is 00:45:43 Am I risking other people? I know. All right, lunchbox. I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead story of the day. Hey, thank you guys for hanging out.
