Starting point is 00:02:43 slash military. Welcome to Wednesday's show. Morning studio. Morning. I want to go check in with Eddie real quick. We talked about going skydiving
Starting point is 00:03:02 because you said you'd always wanted to go. In my bucket list. But you also have four kids. Correct. Scuba Steve said you could not go. But your wife could override that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:12 You talked to her. I did. And? She says she wasn't crazy about the idea at first, but since it's something I really want to do, she wants to be there for me and support me in that way. So, boys, I'm ready. Let's go. I got the green light from my wife, so let's jump off a plane.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Are you, what do you mean? Jump off a plane. Right? Jump from a plane? Or jump out of a plane? Yeah, that would work. Okay, so she's cool. Yeah, she's good.
Starting point is 00:03:35 She says, just do it. Did you expect her to say that? I didn't, because really, really. I think she worries deep, deep inside that if I don't make it, like she's stuck raising four kids on her own. I would think, though, you would have a... Life insurance? I don't. No, no, no. You don't? Well, you should get it. Well, you should... First of all, yeah, you should get that. Before you go. I don't know. I've heard people say, like, oh, I'm worth more dead than I am alive. I don't like that whole thing.
Starting point is 00:03:58 But it's about your kids at this point. Sure. I mean, hey, everyone's going to have to pitch in a little harder. They're going to have to work, support them. Who are the kids? Do you have life? Does your wife have life insurance? No, neither one of you? I don't think so. Well, that keeps you safe. No, it does. I understand. Both of you guys are thinking that as soon as you get life insurance, you get murdered.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Yeah, well, absolutely. Amy does watch Snap. Uh-huh. And that's what, Amy, what are they going after most of the time? The insurance money. No, no, no. Other shows depict that. Snap is, it's not really that calculated.
Starting point is 00:04:28 You snap. That's true. Yeah. Hold on. I wasn't thinking that at all. My mind's blown that that's where your mind went was, I'm worth more dead than alive. I've heard people say that before
Starting point is 00:04:39 and I'm like, that's a terrible way to live. You have four kids. If you can afford life insurance, you should get life insurance. Okay. Because otherwise, how are they going to go to college? I'll figure that out, right? Scholarship. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Work harder. How did you go to college? Not money. That's what I'm talking about. Yeah. But how cool would it? What? How cool would have been to have a family to support me?
Starting point is 00:05:00 Yeah, I know. Yeah, that's been awesome in many ways, guys. And that's kind of why my wife doesn't really want me to jump out of a plane. Yeah. Okay, well, we'll set it up. I can't. I can't believe, one, you don't have life insurance. And then two, that Lunchbox also felt like you were going to get murdered as soon as you got it, because you don't have it either.
Starting point is 00:05:16 No, I don't have a will either. Okay, that's... That's dumb. You're in a position where you could have a will. Like, I get, like, resources forming a will. Like, that's daunting. It's a process. It costs money.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I only got a will, like two years ago because I was going to die immediately. I'll be honest with you. He has three kids, Bobby. I should have one. I know. I know. Yes. Let me ask you this, though.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Uh-huh. Is it shady for me to get life insurance and then go skydiving? Like, are they going to be like, whoa, whoa, what's going on here? They're not going to ask you if you're going skydiving. Yeah, and you're the one that's doing it all. Okay. Yeah, because there are other ways to kill yourself. You don't want to jump out of an airplane to do that.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Some people do. If she got, okay, if she got life insurance for you, and then you died and flying. Now we're talking. Now we're on TLC. Then they're going to be checking between her and the instructor. Yeah. And she rigs your shoot to not open.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Oh, yeah. Oh, my gosh. Oh, we've gone to some dark places Let me ask her if she's gotten life insurance lately Okay So here we are, you're going to skydive Yes You don't have life insurance
Starting point is 00:06:12 You're not getting it because you don't want to die Lunchbox, you don't have it You don't have a will Correct I also again didn't have a will Not because I thought I was going to get murdered But because I thought as soon as I signed it I was pretty much going to die
Starting point is 00:06:24 And we didn't get will We didn't have any money to pass down But now I get a house I got the car Okay, a lot to unpack in this section How unprepared we are. Okay, we got Eddie good. Abby's good to go skydiving.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Now we just need to line it up. All right. And send you guys up. So Abby doesn't need to check with anyone, right? It's just her. I believe Abby single as Pringle. No, I'm just, you know. That's a low blow, dude, but it's true.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Yeah, I'm good. Abby, single as Pringle, we're good to go? Yeah. No one's stopping me. Let's go. Single as a Pringle. All right, well, we'll set it out. Let's open up the mailbag.
Starting point is 00:06:59 You send an email and we read it. on the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones. I hired a friend of my company years ago. While there has been no job negligence, they simply are not performing up to their standards. My business partner thinks we've tried our best to get them up to speed and insists, it's time to part ways. Being that you are both a friend and a boss to your people, how would you handle letting one of your friends go? An active listener and a pickle. Yeah, that's a tough. That's why you have HR do it. I'll be honest with you. This is going to be hard to hear whatever you're about to say. Well, like is this foreshadowing? You guys think I wrote it in
Starting point is 00:07:42 and talk about it. Well, on yesterday's show, though, we did say if I find out one of you guys stole that Lanny Wilson poster and then sold it on eBay, you're gone. You're out of here. Because you can't steal stuff and then resell it. But I'll, hey, Ray, you got the timer ready? I give you 15 seconds to admit today if it was you who stole that poster. Start the time array. 15 seconds. If I want to come clean and admit they stole a signed poster from my office and sold it on eBay. Are we allowed to steal stuff if we don't resell it?
Starting point is 00:08:14 No, you're not. Five seconds? All right, time. No one's admitting it. Okay. Here's what you do, listener and a pickle. It's tough to be a friend and a boss, and sometimes it works wonderfully and sometimes it doesn't, and it's hard. But you must get the person in a room.
Starting point is 00:08:32 and say these were our goals and our objectives and we haven't met them and it sucks but you're going to have to find a new job now because they are a friend what I would suggest you do to them and what I've had to do in the past is go I'm not going to fire you because it sucks to have to go find a job if you don't have a job what I'm going to do is what's today May 25th I would say you have to find a new job by August 1st I'm going to give you that time to find a new job Because that's plenty of time to find a job. That way they're not fired. They have time to go find a job.
Starting point is 00:09:07 And it looks like they were leaving on their own. So everybody wins. That's what I do, Eddie. Why are you looking at me? That's what I've done before. I've been like, hey, well, you asked, you said you wanted to see what was going to happen here. It's a tough thing to be a boss and a friend. But if boundaries are drawn, you can make it happen.
Starting point is 00:09:27 And you can flourish. Right, team? Right. Yeah. Hey, let me ask. You can you still be friends with them after you let them go? You hope so. Yeah, it'll come back.
Starting point is 00:09:37 It'll come back around. Meaning, again, I've had to do this before. Hey, you got to find a new job. Take some time. Find it. Boom, gone. For a while, it's like, er. You know, they're upset.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then eventually, you threw them bone. You were friends anyway. Something brings you back together. You start being cool again. Okay. You'll be friends again. And then it's really, really hard to do it, imagine.
Starting point is 00:09:59 but then you want to be, like, you don't want to build a resentment for the person not being able to do their job the way it needs to be done. And like if you, if that friendship is important to you, then you're doing them a favor because then they can go maybe thrive somewhere else. Try explaining that to them. I tried that too. It's work very good. Yeah. I agree. All right, there you go.
Starting point is 00:10:19 That's the advice I would give you. Thank you for the email. Close up to mailbag. We've got your email and we read it on the air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mailbag. Yeah. A fitness model from New York has urged women not to date lazy men. So just generally, ladies don't date lazy men.
Starting point is 00:10:38 And for her, that means don't date a guy that doesn't go to the gym five times a week at least. Oh my gosh. She sounds like a crazy town. I think she is fitness obsessed. She is a fitness model. She's probably talking to what she thinks are other fitness obsessed people. Five times is a lot. And I really try to work out four or five times a week, just my mental health for the most part.
Starting point is 00:10:59 but... But also if you didn't, that wouldn't mean I'm lazy. That doesn't mean I'm lazy if I don't, correct? Although, if I had like, you're so lazy in the mirror. You call yourself that? Yeah, I'm like, you're so lazy. Get out there and do it. So what we'll do is, fill in the blank.
Starting point is 00:11:13 If there are any women out there now, they're dating a guy, and the guy is blank, they should dump him. Fill in the blank. Go ahead. Well, I mean, I guess I would say it's if a guy, if he can't listen, dump him. Oh, that's all the guys. Every guy, there's universal dumping right now happening. I'd be done. All across America.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Yes. Yes, me too. We'd all be dumped. You can learn how to listen. You've learned how to listen and hear, Caitlin. But that's one, everybody's going to get dumped. That's a tough one. I'm going to say if you guys a bad tipper, because that never changes.
Starting point is 00:11:41 If the guy's a bad tipper, he doesn't care about others. He's never had to be in that situation. Bad tipper, he's going to be cheap. That is not frugal. That is cheap and that is inconsiderate. So if they're a bad tipper, dump them because they ain't never getting better. Remember, you're seeing the good version of them right now. Well, can they change?
Starting point is 00:12:01 Could it be that they grew up there? Maybe they watched their parents be bad tippers So then there and then you introduce the world of tipping. Not you, you've been an adult. But you're an adult. They're a bad tipper. Peace out. Eddie?
Starting point is 00:12:13 I would say dump them if you can't cook. Because that means... Hey, cook. Sorry, you're dumped. Nobody's getting dumped right now. You are worthless. Okay. Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Gosh, Eddie, you are so unreal listening. We're looking at real red flags here, guys. They can't cook, dump them. Okay. Lunchbox. Oh, man, there's not a lot of dumpable qualities in my opinion, but I'd say if they're a thief. Okay, if they steal from them. Okay, I like that.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Like if they're staying over and all of a sudden, you're missing some jewelry. Yes. Okay. Or if they don't, I mean. If they're a murderer. If they don't have a place of their own. You know what I mean? Like Ray got lucky because Ray didn't have a place of his own.
Starting point is 00:12:51 That's right. Some people say Ray got with Bay because he had nowhere to live. That's what I'm saying. And so like, oh, I stay at a friend's house here. I stay at a friend's house there. So if they have no place of their own, that's a red flag. It's like stability? All right, Morgan, what do you think?
Starting point is 00:13:02 What's the red flag for all the ladies out there? If they have a guy that's blank, they should dump them now. I mean, mine is definitely, and I think it's a lot of women's, if they're mean to animals. Like, that's a good one. Hardcore, hard pass for me. If I see that even a little bit, I'm out. Yeah, if they don't care about animals, is weird. You don't have to dump them if they don't care.
Starting point is 00:13:21 But that's a yellow flag big time. If they're like, I don't like dogs, who cares? Yeah, if they're like indifferent, I'm like, that's probably not going to work. Yeah, but if they're mean to animals, that is a good one. Okay, so if I'm ranking them, Morgans is number one. Oh, yeah. Then I'm going to be number two if they're a bad tipper. Lunchbox, stealing, the murder.
Starting point is 00:13:38 What? Murder and stealing? Well, he didn't say murder, I said. That was a joke that was sarcastic, guys. You're stealing. And then Amies and Eddie's are just... No, they're true, though. If they don't listen. Men can learn to listen.
Starting point is 00:13:48 I'm saying, like, truly, like, be willing to hear what is being said. That sounds like, after being married for 10 years, your therapist going, guys, if you want to stay together. Yeah, exactly. So I'm passing it along. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two, 30 second skinny. Craig Morgan will be performing at the National Memorial Day concert.
Starting point is 00:14:10 It's happening in Washington, D.C. Fans can watch on PBS Sunday at 7 p.m. Central. The new Elvis movie is coming out soon, and the soundtrack was just revealed. Casey Musgraze will have a song on the album. The movie is in theaters June 24th. Luke Colmes talked about his song, doing this. Anybody that's really passionate about what they do and loves their job and is doing the thing
Starting point is 00:14:33 that they love to do and somehow figured out a way to get paid for it, that is the story. It's like I would be singing and playing guitar and writing songs if I wasn't where I am now. I'm Morgan. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Stay home there's something good. Tori Williams was with her family at the Spanish Fork River. And they're walking the trail, and they just started out when her four-year-old son slips.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Doom, do, doom, falls down an embankment and into the river. And she tells other kids, run back, get your dad. And she starts making her way down the embankment. But luckily, there was a teenager down by the river. Didn't know them. Just jumped in. Boom. Grab the four-year-old and brought him to safety.
Starting point is 00:15:22 That kid had to be like, what's that noise? What the hell? Oh, my God. It's a kid. A lot of sound. Then jumped in. You think it's just a rock falling down the embankment, but it's a four-year-old going down, down, down,
Starting point is 00:15:33 it sounds a lot different. He goes, wee. Yeah, and he got a couple scrapes, but here's Tori talking about how thankful she is. It was really brave for a teenager to do that, I think. I didn't even know he was there until he started splashing and coming over. I don't have the words to say how grateful I am.
Starting point is 00:15:48 I went to sleep having nightmares last night thinking of what could have happened to. Extremely fortunate that kid was there. Yeah. Of all the places. That's a great story. It's a hero. for sure, and that's what it's all about.
Starting point is 00:15:59 That was Tell Me Something Good. Hey, thank you guys for hanging out. I think one of the themes over the past few months on this show has been Amy thinking she's getting scammed, us having to shut down Amazon account. Is it her giving her credit card at the gas station? It's just one after the other, and I feel like it's been a public service for our listeners to hear about these scams, right? Hopefully.
Starting point is 00:16:19 And you've learned a lot. Yeah. Except what? Well, someone came to my door. Okay, so everybody listened to it. Oh, my gosh. What we're going to do is decide if Amy's been doing. scammed, okay. Okay, so you're at your door.
Starting point is 00:16:28 I need a picture. What time of day? Friday, I know exactly what time it is because my daughter was getting picked up. Otherwise, I don't know that I would have gone on the door because it was a stranger. Okay, so Friday, in the daytime, like three, four o'clock? It was, yeah, 5 p.m. Okay, 5 p.m. I'm there. Doorbell was going. Like, I was like waiting and I'm like, oh,
Starting point is 00:16:46 you know, so sure, go get your things. And I go to the door, it's not the mom picking her up. It's a strange man at the door. Okay. That I open it. and he shares with me that he is going door to door. He spent nine years in prison, and he has been out for six months, and he's working on expunging his record.
Starting point is 00:17:08 So he, part of this getting that done, is working for this company and going door to door to help with food insecurity, which I can't care about. So I'm like, okay, tell me more. Okay, that's what I was going to ask. Do you say, hey, here's five bucks. Do you say I would like to know more
Starting point is 00:17:26 or do you shut the door and you answered that? You said, tell me more. Five bucks was never an option. It wasn't. Lunchbox, why are you laughing by the way? I mean, what kind of history and society are they going to expunge your record for working for this company? Right. Because this is the, it's a hilarious. They practiced their skill set of going to a door
Starting point is 00:17:43 in admitting what they did. I don't know exactly what he did. He kind of told me a little bit. There was tears involved. From him? He cried. I cried. I cried. Oh, you cried to? Yeah. I, and then I ended up saying I adopted. He's like, oh my gosh, I was adopted. Okay, do you think he just said that because you said it?
Starting point is 00:17:59 I don't know. Oh, my goodness. Oh, no. I know. How real were his tears? They seem pretty real. Oh, wow. I feel like.
Starting point is 00:18:07 How long did you talk with him? 40 minutes. What? Wait, 14? 14? 14 minutes? 14. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Long enough for the mom to actually come pick up my daughter. She even talked to him, met him. And she's like, well, I don't want to interrupt. I'm going to go ahead and just take your daughter. and go. I was like, okay. So 40 minutes later, you're still talking to the guy. When does he make the move to ask for money? Probably 25 minutes in. Did you give them money? Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Do you just give them cash? No. No. What you give them? What? I entered my credit card. You entered the credit card? You entered your credit card number. Listen, I've already notified. But what did they have? What was the machine like? My people to be like, listen, if this particular, if my credit card, we might need to cancel it.
Starting point is 00:18:59 Because it was like, he's... You gave him that much money? He sent me to the website. He sent me to the website and I go to the website to click donate from there, but the donate button's not working. Okay. Of course not. Go ahead. So it was dot org, which is...
Starting point is 00:19:16 But it wasn't working. Which is, that's like... You can get a dot org. Anyway, go ahead. Okay. That means 501c3. Go ahead. So then he pulls up, he goes, but I have this app on my phone where you can just pay through it and it'll go and then you'll get an email notification for the receipt or whatever.
Starting point is 00:19:32 I'm like, okay. So then I'm like, what app is this? And it's some app I don't have because I wanted to just do it from my phone. He's like, here, just enter it in on my phone. I got the app open. So he goes and so I enter my credit card information. And then the payment goes through and then he's like, okay, right. And now type in your email address and that I'll give you the receipt.
Starting point is 00:19:52 So as I'm typing my email address, I kid you not, his phone dies. It like, and it's an Android. So he, and I have my phone with me. And he's like, oh, do you have a da-da-da-da-charger? And I'm like, no, no, I don't have that charger. So I don't know what's going to happen. This was. How much?
Starting point is 00:20:16 Are you going to write it down? Oh, my gosh. It's a lot of money. Yeah. Yeah. I hope it's legit. I felt really moved. Because it was all very, very, I will give you. That's so much money.
Starting point is 00:20:33 That's so much. I've never heard of anyone coming to your door and getting that much money. Well, he showed me what other people had been donating. Oh, so you felt pressure. I didn't feel pressure. I felt like I can make this part of like my giving. Who thinks Amy was just scammed? Gosh, I'm so torn. Listen, he's going to get his record expung.
Starting point is 00:20:52 I don't know that that's going to happen from this. And food is going to get... You don't raise money to get your record expanse. No! Food is going to get delivered to people that need it. Yeah, his house. Who thinks Amy's been scammed? You got scammed.
Starting point is 00:21:05 100%. Morgan? Yeah, I think so. Amy, I'm sorry. Yes, I think you get scammed too. Ray? Scam was when she went on the phone with the apps. That was it.
Starting point is 00:21:15 The donate button, that was your red flag. When the phone died... But you called and said, don't let it go through. Why would you say that, though? No, I didn't. It went through. I'm saying I've called. to just like everyone in my feet
Starting point is 00:21:25 like we know we're looking out for like if any weird charges show up. But you've been scammed like four times it can be from any of them, not just this guy. Oh, not on this card. So what's the scam? Like he just keeps whatever she gave him? But he had all these signatures from people like my neighbors. Ain't no way to get those, huh?
Starting point is 00:21:43 Hey Bobby, can you sign a couple days for me? Listen, in all the handwriting. The scam is a probably I know of folks who have not my friends, but I know of folks, once I got involved with the program, when these kids would come into the program, they would tell me stories of how they used to all get in a van, in the back of a van, going to a neighborhood with these sob stories, and we're raising money for this, and it wasn't for that.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Okay. But it ends there, though. Whatever Amy gave him, it ends. But when I would learn this, it wasn't so much where there's so much fraud online. I think you got tricked, and hopefully you aren't being defrauded. I hope that everything about this is real, but I just wanted to- Could be. I do two.
Starting point is 00:22:23 I did two. Thoughts were. And if you've ever had this happen to you, and it ended up being A. Okay. I've had it happened to me in the fact that I worked with some kids who used to do it to people. This was an adult man that spent nine years in the Chicago prison system. Chicago. Dang.
Starting point is 00:22:40 I want it to be true. Best of luck, Amy. And he, okay. This is like the ninth scam of nine weeks. And I'm like, how did they find me? It's like, you're on a database. It's like, yeah. Put my house?
Starting point is 00:22:52 Yeah. You're in the database. Okay, thank you. If anyone else wants to shed some light on this, you can. Just go to our Facebook page. So 65 people are on a wait list to stay in that motel room where Casey White and Vicki White stayed in Evansville, Indiana, now who they are. In Alabama, there was this woman who worked at the prison, and there was a prisoner, and she helped break them out, and they escaped, and they were on the run, and we talked about it on the show a lot. But the hotel room they stayed in, people are booking to stay there. Again, almost 70 people on a wait list to stay in room 150 at Motel 41, where Casey and Vicki
Starting point is 00:27:37 White stayed while authorities nationwide conducted a manhunt for the pair. A weird thing, too, is they weren't married. They just had the same last name. They just randomly had the same last name. Weird. So, you get to do that. stay for like $72.2 a night. And if you want to stay in this room, where they stayed, which by the way, he was in jail for murder. No, he is going to be tried for murder. He is serving 75 years for other crimes.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Not murder? No. No, but he, his ex-girlfriend died suspiciously. No, we're reinvestigating that too. I don't know why people would want to stay in this room. Even if you were super creep and you like to stay where people were killed or where they were murdered. Nothing even happened between them here.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Right. They just slept. Yeah, and watch TV. People just want to be able to say, I stayed at the hotel. Why don't want to say that? There's nothing to say. How do you want to say that? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Who's going to be like, that's so cool. I don't know. I think you're a weirdo. You're wasting money. And 70 bucks is kind of cheap. They should jack that price up a little bit. Well, they have jacked the price up. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:33 So it's 63 bucks a night, unless you want to stay in this room. It's 75 bucks a night. The clerk said that they had to raise it a little bit. I can't believe there are 70 people that are on a wait list to stay in this room. Like, why? What is the appeal? You can just lie and say it's a different room. Right.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Just put it 150 on any room. Oh, there you go. That's their room. How do you know it was 150, weirdo? He said it. Oh, did I? He's on the list. We don't know it.
Starting point is 00:28:55 But also, they probably took every piece of furniture that was in there. The cops took it, right? It's all confiscated. So it's all new stuff. Is it? No. Why? Furniture?
Starting point is 00:29:05 What do you think? Anything they touched? What do you think? She died and he is back in jail. Right. I don't know they would take. All right. Chuck, get the Ottoman.
Starting point is 00:29:14 Why would they take the TV? I think he's thinking of like TV shows where they take it to a lab. If they're looking for someone or trying to find the murderer, but they know who it is. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:25 All right, we're going to do the bed spread. Can we get that? Here we go. We talked about Amy being scammed in the last segment, possibly by someone at her front door. But can Amy trust this cop that reached out to you to say,
Starting point is 00:29:37 hey, I can help you find your class ring. Yes, but then she needed a lot of information from me to do so. And so before I replied with any, anything I wanted to run it by y'all. So it's your college class ring. It's your Aggie class ring. You lost it somewhere when you're living in North Carolina. Texas A&M, class
Starting point is 00:29:52 of O3, and it disappeared in like, I don't know, 2009 or so. Lunchbox went out to do a little investigating. So what did you do? I got the number of this lady, this cop, supposedly, and I called her, and I wanted to give her like a cop test. You know, it's me. I do my research, and I'm really into cop show. You just got her number and called her? She gave me. I gave him the number.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Well, he actually, he went to me. And I gave it to him. I did some detective work, got her phone number, and I called her, and I, you know, put her through the grill or see if she's a real cop or not. Here we go ahead. Officer Fleming, I mean, allegedly Officer Fleming, how's it going? Allegedly, it's going great. Tell me about your police background. Okay, she's cop.
Starting point is 00:30:33 I can tell by how she answered phone. Really? I couldn't. Yeah, yeah, she's cop. I don't even know how this ends. She's got, wow. Okay. The authority she speaks with?
Starting point is 00:30:41 Okay, here we go. Tell me about your police background and why we should trust you. So I work for a local agency in North Carolina, and I love to find missing things. I just need a little more information to do some digging on my end. Okay, so I can prove that you're a cop. I'm going to have to ask you some questions, you know, because I am a detective too, and this is my detective work. I'm down.
Starting point is 00:31:03 All right. Read me my Miranda rights. So we have a card for that because none of us are as good as they're on TV, but you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can, it will be used to get you in court of law. You have a right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you. Ah, it sounds suspect. I don't know it. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:31:24 All right. She's a cop, right? You guys can tell. She speaks with authority. She's starting to sound like one a little bit. And she's okay to be challenged. No, not a little bit. She's a cop for sure. She sounds like a 911 operator. You know, like she knows what she's talking about. What does she just like an intern at the precinct?
Starting point is 00:31:36 Oh, great. What kind of gun you carry? carry a Glock 19. How many people you shot? Zero. It's a lot of paperwork. Can you do like you're calling in the dispatch? Is your last test.
Starting point is 00:31:49 3.20 communications. Go ahead. Just be advised. I have a 1037 subject on the phone asking for police credentials. Have you had any other reports of anything similar? No. What's your 20? Delford County, North Carolina, but it's a private number.
Starting point is 00:32:03 So I'm unsure where the crime originated. Okay. And what suspect is like? Just got himself as a lunchbox. I'm not sure if that's fabric lunchbox, plastic lunchbox, I don't have any additional information. Okay, you know what? Officer Jennings, you are hired. You have got the case.
Starting point is 00:32:20 This one is on you. I'm going to talk to Amy, and we're going to get back to you because you have been hired, and we're going to solve this. We're going to be crime stoppers. Wow, they said it together. That's cool. We didn't do crap. What do you mean I didn't do crap? You just stuttered the whole time.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Yeah, you just said... I investigated this person to make sure they were a real cop because Amy, has a hard time doing things without getting scammed. So I feel like I did some detective work. And me and her are going to get together and we're going to solve this. Me and Detective Jennings. You're not going to help at all. You want I bet?
Starting point is 00:32:50 Yeah. Because I'm going to give her that information that she needs from Amy. Why wouldn't I just give it to her? But Amy, she's legit. I did. I felt like once she started doing her like what she would call over a radio, I was like, I feel that. Can you fake that? Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Hey, what did you got? Yeah, we got a 1026 in progress right now over here. here at Cahall and Porter? I mean, something's for good. He's a cop! Hey! Here's a voicemail from Darcy in Oregon. I'm trying to buy my first car, and I'm very confused if I should buy it new or used,
Starting point is 00:33:24 and I was just wondering what your advice was on how to go about buying your first car. Love the show. Thanks for any help you all have. I think my advice would be that I don't know, because when we had to buy our first cars, we didn't have the Internet. You have everything at your fingertips at this point. It depends how much money. have too. Like your first, first car, you probably buy something you used to save up to buy something
Starting point is 00:33:44 nicer, especially, I mean, that's what I did. I went mowed yards and bought old Subaru and thought I was going to have it for like a month, had it for a couple years. It's a real piece too. But, I mean, just use the internet. Everything is at your fingertips. That's why a lot of car dealerships don't even haggle as much anymore. Because they know you know and you know they know, and it's like very, little, but it's kind of all right there. So, that's a good point. My advice is just get, educate yourself, you see the kind of car you might buy, start looking it up, do the blue book thing, do all that. Now, if we were 10 years ago, I'd have a way, but this isn't a show from the past.
Starting point is 00:34:17 Eddie, you're kind of a car guy. Any advice for that first caller on a first car? Yeah, well, I've always bought used cars because they're more affordable, but, man, there's some comfort to, like, buying a brand new car where you don't have to take it to the shop for the next three years or two years, so I really like new cars. Yeah, if you want to pay the extra money, got to have the money, though. Let's go McKenzie in Florida. Hi, Studio.
Starting point is 00:34:37 I listen to you guys every day on the way to school. I love you guys. This is the Bobby Boom show. Let's go. I'm so cute. And here is Ariel from Wichita, Kansas. I'm a huge fan of the show, but I was really just curious about the voicemails you get. How many do you guys actually get on a daily basis?
Starting point is 00:34:58 And what are some of the craziest things people have said to you in voicemails? Sometimes people will call and just have had way too much to drink in the middle of the night and just slur. sometimes people will yell at us. Some people just want to do shoutouts to their kids. Hundreds. I mean, we have a program that will read us what they are, though. So we don't have to listen to every one of them. So if you say something, we can look on a computer screen
Starting point is 00:35:19 and see basically what you're saying. And some of them, it'll go, A, A, A, A, A, A, A, A, A, L, L, L, O. And you're like, what? Delete. So it's all over the place on that. But thank you for the voicemels. The Bible Show. Here's Amy's pile of stories. All right.
Starting point is 00:35:35 Who has the deepest voice. on the show. Lunchbox, by far. Yeah. Is just that easy? Oh, yeah, by far. Pretty deep. Yeah. People are always surprised he's so small when they see.
Starting point is 00:35:43 Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Squirrely even. So his nickname, as appointed by some listeners, is squirrel. Okay. Do you think he's just naturally that deep or he tries to be deep? I think he's naturally that deep. Okay. Any of y'all want to be deeper?
Starting point is 00:35:55 What? Okay. There's a surgery that could offer you this. I had no idea and it's gaining popularity. I wanted it to be deeper when I was first starting radio because I would go on to be like, 105.9 K-L-A-Z. Hey guys. Bobby Boats here coming out. You got six in a row. This one's from Chumbawamba. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:36:10 But then I couldn't maintain that. Yeah. Well, a plastic surgeon could help you out. He can help you maintain it. He says that over the years, he's been performing the surgery for 15 years now. But recently, he's seeing people come in more and more. So he's increasing how many times he's doing this. And some people want it to sound more assertive at work. You like that Elizabeth Holmes? Yes. I am the CEO of a tech company and I'm a small blonde lady
Starting point is 00:36:38 but I like to do this to my voice I mean that is so bizarre You just watch like if you haven't watched that I highly recommend it or listen to the podcast But yeah her voice just progressively gets deeper Because she wanted to be more assertive Sound more assertive Yeah because all the CEOs in Silicon Valley were men
Starting point is 00:36:53 Wow weird I can't see me go into a plastic surgeon To get a deeper voice Maybe if I talk like this Maybe if it were so abnormally high, I'd want it to be normal, but I can't imagine just going now and being like, you know what, people don't respect me. Because that ain't a voice issue, buddy. Well, he can tweak pitch and tone deeper or higher depending on your preference,
Starting point is 00:37:16 because some people, maybe to match their gender, they want it to be whatever, whichever direction they want to go. That I could understand. Okay. Lunchbox, I finally have a way he can possibly live out his dream. Like, you know how he always has wanted to buy an island? Forever. Every time we mention anything, you want to buy an island. I found a deal.
Starting point is 00:37:31 If you win $10 on the lottery, what do you do? Bon Island. No. Go ahead. Well, most of them that we look up are like millions and millions, and that just seems unattainable and daunting. But there is one in Addison, Maine, that is 1.5 acres,
Starting point is 00:37:45 and it's located off some bay for like $300,000, which I know is still a lot of money, but if you think about it in the grand scheme of things when it comes to an island, like lunchbox can possibly pull this off. You could win the lottery and buy an island if you win it in the next couple weeks. Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:02 Can I build a house on that? Like how big... I saw a picture. 1.5 acres? That's a lot. But have you seen it? Mike, you see in the island? I don't know that I build a house on it.
Starting point is 00:38:10 It's all mud. It's kind of like, it looks like low water. Yeah. It looks like in the summer when it goes down. You got to, hey, it's a deal. Yeah. There's a reason it's a deal. Take what you can get.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Which lunchbox you should call and like maybe just, I don't know, try to see if you can bargain for it. All right. What else? Well, Morgan Wallin shared how he has grown in the past. year and what caused him to do it? I think mostly I could attribute it to being a dad, you know, just seeing that I have another life that I'm responsible for. You kind of put things into perspective for me.
Starting point is 00:38:40 So I think just getting him, you know, seeing him get a personality. He said this while standing on the red carpet next to his mom, who was his date, and, yeah, that's being a dad just changes you. I think any parent here can say that it stretches you and grows you and gives you a new perspective. I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news With Bobby
Starting point is 00:39:01 Tell me something good So this woman Aaron and her dog They were out in northern California hiking And Aaron was attacked by a mountain lion So it jumps on her, rips through her jacket Scratches her shoulder And she starts to yell for her dog Who's close, but not right beside her
Starting point is 00:39:19 And so she gets back And is able to like get a few feet from the cat Which is definitely the mountain lion's ready to attack And so the dog jumped in front of it And so the dog jumps in. The cat's like fighting the dog. She reaches down, grabs her pepper spray.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Sprays the cat. Gets the dog a little bit too. But that's just, you know, collateral damage, right? It's part of it. And so she starts spraying the cat. The mountain lion, which I'm calling the cat, runs away. And so she grabs the dog, drives 90 minutes to the nearest vet because they're up in, you know, hiking area. And so all good.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Multiple puncture wounds. Even head fractures. But the dog's going to be okay. and now she's going to be okay. And if it weren't for the dog jumping in, she thinks that she would have died. And there's also a go fund me for her medical expenses, and they've raised over $33,000.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Because they're both pretty damaged here to the dog and her. And anything that is excess of what she needs, they're going to use it to support dog and big cat rescues and predator management groups to make sure that doesn't happen to other people. But I'm telling you, if that happened to me, and Stanley, my bulldog was there, and there's a mountain line ready to attack. And Stanley's right there in between him.
Starting point is 00:40:25 I think he'd probably take a nap. Yeah Probably I think he just like Good luck Wait me up when this is over And then fall over to the side But awesome
Starting point is 00:40:34 That her dog jumped in Have you all seen that video Of that cat That saved a baby's life A little baby cat I mean Is it real? No it's real
Starting point is 00:40:42 A baby's about to go downstairs And the cat Like a house cat That's why I mean Not a mountain line cat Goes and gets in front of the baby And blocks the baby From going down the stairs
Starting point is 00:40:50 It's the craziest thing That is crazy Do you think the cat knew what it was doing It must have Yeah I've watched it 10 times and I'm wondering
Starting point is 00:41:00 like how did that that? That's so crazy Like my cat would never do that ever Yeah again I compare everything to my dog He may have stopped and taken a nap and blocked The baby I wasn't really trying to save it right I don't know No no it's pretty I'll show you the video That's awesome
Starting point is 00:41:14 All right there you go that's what it's all about That was tell me something good Let's talk to Tiffany in Texas Who's on the phone Hey Tiffany what's going on good morning Good morning So I was calling because I'm a late college graduate. You know, life kind of gets in the way.
Starting point is 00:41:33 It's a medical problem. So I'm 35. I'll actually turn 36 before I graduate in December with my first degree. Nice. And I've been struggling with what to put on my graduation cap. And I read your books and all the things, listen to the show, and the quote that you have that there's no straight line to success. means a lot to me, and I wanted to see if I could get your permission, so there's no copy right.
Starting point is 00:42:01 Are you cutting out? One, I don't own that quote. I think I probably stole that or heard it 20 times in different ways. But I'm actually wearing my sweatshirt now that says there is no straight line to success. You use it. Use it 100 times. I think that's awesome that you were able to stay focused. You had a lot of things that came up in your life that diverted you from your original path, but you kept your eye on the prize. That's awesome. and that's what it's all about is even though things are pulling you in all different directions you stay focused on eventually what you can get to and you make that goal
Starting point is 00:42:33 make that dream happen so for sure you can use that I don't think I came up with it I'll be honest with you I don't know anybody know Socrates, Plato, me those three get confused a lot yeah Descartes well congratulations Tiffany that's awesome and I hope graduation's amazing
Starting point is 00:42:50 I know we're a few months away but hang in there don't skip out on any finals and use whatever quote me you want. Are you there? I am. Oh, no. Wow. You know what?
Starting point is 00:42:59 We'll just send her to the clip. We'll just send her to the clip of everything I just said. Hey, pretty motivational. I'll tell you. Tiffany, you don't know. I'm so darned. It's okay. Tiffany, you can use whatever you want, okay?
Starting point is 00:43:12 All right. Well, I appreciate that. It means a lot. It's been a long road, but it's my first of three degrees I'm working on. That's awesome. And again, everybody's path to success is different. There is no straight line. just stay focused and chase the dream, all right?
Starting point is 00:43:27 I sure am. Thank you so much. And for all of your encouragement and what you do for people. All right, Tiffany, have a great day. Thank you, you too. Bye, bye. Dang, you missed all that. That's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:43:37 That's good, man. Hello? Yeah, anybody there? Can you repeat all that? Am I still on? All right, let's go over to Amy and get the morning corny. The morning corny. Do they allow loud laughing in Hawaii?
Starting point is 00:43:54 I don't know. Or do they just allow Aloha? All right. That was the morning corny. Amy, give our listeners a 30-second recap on what happened to you that we talked about earlier on the show. A guy came to my door, door-to-door, had been in jail for nine years, but now I was working for a nonprofit where he gets to do things like go to door-to-door to get his record expunged. And I wanted to be a part of him, you know, rehabilitation. And then also they're providing food for people in food insecure areas.
Starting point is 00:44:29 And so all I had to do is make a little donation to help buy a palette of food. And then also this gets him on the road to like, you know, a new life. And then you typed in your credit card number into... Oh, his phone into some app I wasn't, I didn't know of because I tried to go to the website from my phone, but the donate button was broken. But it was dot org. It's not like I didn't try to check things out. But everything was super convincing and seemed, you know, like it was legit. So he gave me his phone.
Starting point is 00:44:57 I entered my credit card info. And then it went through. And then I was typing in my email address so they could email me a receipt. And his phone died. So all this happened, by the way, it wasn't a, I'm not going to put her out there. But it was a significant donation. So. Yeah, because I wanted to help to change the world.
Starting point is 00:45:14 Yes. It could have made. Absolutely. We're not questioning your heart. Go up about a foot, foot and a half. Above the heart. It's the brain. Above the eye.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Yeah, yeah, yeah. My brain did things to try to fact check this. So, Mike, you've been doing research for the last hour. Yes. Okay. What did you find out about this kind of thing where people go door to door? First of all, website is super shady. The one that she went to.
Starting point is 00:45:40 Yeah, it looks shady. Nothing on the website works. And what I found is there was this door-to-door scam that people said, if this organization comes to your door, do not take money from, give money to them, report them to the police. Now was that the organization that came to Amy's door? It wasn't the exact organization, but the organization is the one that sprouted from the one that was shut down.
Starting point is 00:46:01 Basically, the first one was shut down and this one came from the ashes. A Phoenix rose from the first shutdown organization. Yeah, basically I researched a website and it was created this year and that other one that was caught was shut down about two years ago. So it's the same people, same people. Remember? Remember I told you? No, no, no, I know. I remember all this stuff, but take it in. There's a group. They were going door to door. They were caught lying, friding, stealing.
Starting point is 00:46:28 They were shut down. The same folks from that organization started this new one. Same name is attached to this. They came to Amy's. The one Amy. What's up with the link's not working? I don't know. The website, the donate button is just like a picture. Does it click or do anything? Yeah, you press it over and over, nothing else. There we go. There's an email address that I sent an email to, no response back yet. So in your opinion was Amy scammed?
Starting point is 00:46:50 She was scammed. Where would you put that percentage at? I would put it about 99%. Well, that's good. That's pretty darn good. You're saying there's a chance. She wasn't scam. Can we just call my husband real quick?
Starting point is 00:47:03 Why? Sure. Yeah, because he, I just, because he witnessed all this. And of course, he came home tail end of it, and I'm already entering the credit card info. And he was like, what the? Like, he was so, he, he, I can't believe I'm about to admit to him. Because I was like, no, no, no, no, no, it's real.
Starting point is 00:47:18 And he has adopted. And he spent nine years in Chicago jail. Like, I talked to this guy for like 45 minutes. And I just so wanted to believe him and I wanted it to be true and right. He's not available. Why are you calling your husband? It says call the police. Because now I have to admit.
Starting point is 00:47:35 I just would rather admit with the safety of all of y'all. Not that I fear for anything, but I would rather admit with the support of, like, y'all that, like, I was scammed. We follow her in and cars and she's staying around. I was scammed because, I mean, obviously, you know, we share an account with my husband and I told him we basically... Let us know what he says tomorrow, okay? All right. I'm sorry, Amy. He texted me.
Starting point is 00:47:57 I'll call back. I feel so deflated right now because... What'd you learn? Learning time. Learning lesson here. I don't want to learn not to react. Oh, okay. Well, there we have it.
Starting point is 00:48:07 No, no, no, no. I don't want to not connect with people and try to feel their story. But what just really, I'll get more angry about it as the day goes on, because, you know, because he completely tricked me. So, but right now, I guess I'm just disappointed and sad and, like, where's that money? What are they doing with it? What I would say you could have learned from this is, as you talked to him, he said, no, yes. Is your husband calling?
Starting point is 00:48:31 No. Say, I do want to help. Then you click and do a couple Google searches. I just shut the door. I'll be right back. He showed me an EIN number. You know what that is? It doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:48:40 But Mike figured this out pretty quickly. I also didn't. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt that I trusted. him? Like I thought, wow, he's got, he's had so many people that probably turned their back on him because he was incarcerated. You know how blue check marks go after it's vulnerable? Amy's the vulnerable now. Yeah. Oh, man. You're vulnerable when it comes to scams. You have a good heart though, Amy. Hey, you have a great heart. Broke, broke, broke heart. And not broken, but broke, no money. Yeah. You got no money left, but, all right, you got scammed, Amy, I'm sorry. So, but where did the
Starting point is 00:49:11 money go? Yeah, I don't know. No, no, they got the money. Yeah, they got the money. Like, what did they do with it? They're living high on the hog right now. Am I? Bought a house. Yeah. Probably drugs. What about my donation? Your shoes. Is that, is that still? Probably bought a storage unit, lunchbox and I have. Stored a bunch of stuff in there. Can I still count that as a charitable donation? I don't think so, no. What? No way. So I can't write that off on my taxes? You cannot. Now she gets mad. Amy will talk to her husband and if you need us as backup. Let us know, okay? Because we'll laugh out loud in behind you. Starting point is 00:53:13 Yeah, you want to play? Yeah, I'll play. Okay. So, we got a lot of complaints from our affiliates. And so what's happened? About what? It's about us not knowing the capitals. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:53:23 How'd you know that? Because I just know. Like, I knew in my, at core, the minute we did that, I was like, this is trouble. We are asking for trouble. And it's like, no offense. Here's the deal. So, all four of you that played
Starting point is 00:53:35 in Easy Trivia, you will now compete in a state capitals challenge where the loser will be punished. Oh my gosh, we can't do this again. Here's what's going to happen here. So now we're going to make more people mad. That's okay. This doesn't make sense. Since everyone did so badly in Easy Trivia, where a lot of our radio stations are. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:51 Like a lot of the Capitals. Have a game. It's the State Capitals quiz. Here's how it's going to work. Everyone will be given five minutes to complete a state capitals matching worksheet during this commercial break. What are we in school? Now, this break won't be in five minutes, but you're going to have five minutes to fill out as
Starting point is 00:54:05 many as you possibly can. So this is the page. It's got every state there. Oh, man. Does that have the capitals? Oh, yes. And all you have to do is write the number. It's almost multiple choice. Okay. So you're going to have five minutes. After that five minutes, we're pulling the sheets immediately. We'll go and
Starting point is 00:54:21 grade them. The person with the worst score has to be punished. Time to tests are not my strength. So you'll hold a sign on the road. We can tell the way you said it. For 30 minutes, it says, I'm an embarrassment to my friends and family. Where?
Starting point is 00:54:36 You have to hold a sign after 30 minutes on the room. Well, I mean, we are. We are an embarrassment. So the loser has to apologize on the air to all of our listeners. Oh, no. Our radio stations that are affiliates.
Starting point is 00:54:49 And then hold the sign. Okay? So, Mike, you're going to pass out the sheets? Put them all upside down, please. And you can't flip it until I say, and we'll start the clock at five minutes. I need... Upside down.
Starting point is 00:55:02 I need a pencil. Number two pencils? What do we need here? You can be whatever you want. Upside down. Amy, lunchbox. Eddie, Morgan. Scantrons. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Five minutes starts. Now the clock is going. For everybody else. What am I doing here? Oh, I see. It's down here. We will come back and see you as the best score. But really, we care about it as the worst score. Ooh, I'm going to get 100 on this.
Starting point is 00:55:33 15 seconds on the clock. Oh, my God. We'll take a break and we'll come. come back and see who the winner is, but mostly who the loser is. Next. They're hard at work. Amy, lunchbox, Eddie, our video producer, Morgan, our digital producer. They're trying to match state capitals.
Starting point is 00:55:47 The loser will have to suffer a punishment. We do a lot of punishing games on the show, huh? That's funny. So a lot of our affiliates reached out, upset, because the guys on the show did not know the state capitals, and some of our radio stations are in those state capitals. You guys have 20 seconds Oh my gosh, I'm not even close to being done
Starting point is 00:56:08 What? You're crazy Where in the world? I can't even find them on the sheet So what they have is For example, they have the state of Alabama And then there are 50 options And one of them is the real state capital And they write that number down and move on to the next 15 seconds and Mike D. will pull up the sheets immediately
Starting point is 00:56:27 That's crazy dude So just turn them over when I count you down if you don't turn it over immediately, every second you don't, I'll deduct one point from it. Five, four, three, three, two, one, turn it over. I wasn't even close to being done.
Starting point is 00:56:50 One Mississippi lunchbox. I'm handing it to Mike. Mike, do you call it lunchbox? Okay, lunchbox. One point. Stop it, sit down. Wait, I didn't put my name on it. Wow, you got a lot.
Starting point is 00:57:03 How did you... I was trying to put the last four on Columbia, Missouri. But still, you didn't... flip your sheet over and you kept writing. Sorry, bud. Go ahead. Sorry. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Get that sign ready. Write your names on there. Who you feel like did the best. You guys saw each other writing. I feel like lunch bugs had so many more filled out than I did. Oh, I dominated. Except I just couldn't. I was struggling with finding the state on the sheet.
Starting point is 00:57:24 Yeah. You know, they're alphabetical order. I still couldn't figure out alphabetical order. Oh, no, that would get you. Yeah, that was tough too for me. Fine. Same. How many do you think y'all filled out?
Starting point is 00:57:33 I'd say about 55%. I did. I got about 70%, 75%. I think I got 50%. Morgan? I don't. I mean, I think if I had three more minutes, I could have finished it. But I would.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Right. I feel good about what I filled out. So we'll say that. Okay, let me play a song. We're going to come back. Mike's going to go grade them. And we'll have a winner. But mostly, we'll have a loser.
Starting point is 00:57:54 Oh, come on. Who do you think? Who's the favorite to lose? Like in your eyes, when you look at us four? Favorite. Well, mostly, I would think, because of how you reacted, Morgan, because she reacted very poorly, you whenever it was like how'd you do?
Starting point is 00:58:06 Okay. So based on that, I would say Morgan's probably odds on favorite to finish last. And my geography skills are not great. Yeah. So, okay. Mike Gies going to grade him. We'll come back in a second. All right, I have the results
Starting point is 00:58:19 here at the state capitals quiz. So nervous. You just don't want to lose because you've got to hold the sign. You've got to apologize to our program directors. The person who did the best with the score of 35. Wow.
Starting point is 00:58:32 That's the best. 35. How many? 50 states. What do you mean out of how many? Dumbo. What do you mean out of how many? I don't understand. Okay, maybe he thought each state was valued and is different.
Starting point is 00:58:44 No, no. I'm just trying to understand why he would ask that. Because I feel like he got the most right, and now the fact that he didn't understand the point system is confusing. I had a brain part. I don't know if there was 52 or 50. Who feels like that they could have got 35? Me.
Starting point is 00:59:00 Absolutely. One of course. Only lunchbox. Okay, all right. Lunchbox, you feel like you got 35? Yeah. Lunchbox, you got 30. Yeah! Oh!
Starting point is 00:59:12 Okay, next step. He answered the most. There's a tie at 30. Oh, Hardy, what were you guys doing? It's got to be me and Eddie. There's a tie at 30. Yeah, there's a tie at 30 and hold on. Here's how close it was.
Starting point is 00:59:27 There's a tie two at 30, one is at 28. Oh, my God. So someone just didn't lose running away. Morgan made it seem like she only answered 10. That's why I thought. Okay, the first person. Oh, no. No.
Starting point is 00:59:40 To get 30 is going to be and not have to do punishment is Eddie. Oh, thank goodness. Dude, I really, I was like, there's no way I did 30. Just thinking back, amazing, thank you. I don't even know that I did 30. What if I only did 28? That's what I was thinking, Amy. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:59:56 I really thought Morgan answered like 12. Wow. I'm depressed. How did you guys only answer that many questions? Lunchbox, you got five more than 30. Out of how many? Next up. It's either Amy or Morgan.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Oh, my gosh. One of you got 28 out of 50, one of you got 30 out of 50. The person with the lowest will have to apologize representing your group to all of our program directors and all the capitals. But the ones I answered, I got right, I think. Not all, I'm looking at yours. Oh, no. What would I miss? You missed, you thought, well, I'm not going to.
Starting point is 01:00:29 Are we ready? No. Come on. I'm not. Amy thought Harrisburg was West Virginia's capital. Is it Virginia? That's Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania.
Starting point is 01:00:39 Oh, see, I missed it. Dang it. Then I'm wrong. Harrisburg. The person with 28 is... Morgan. Oh! I freaking knew it.
Starting point is 01:00:57 It was close. Okay, Morgan. But did I get most of the ones that I got, right? Because I felt confident about the ones that I answered. Most. Nothing crazy. Well, that's not good either. It's fine.
Starting point is 01:01:12 You did fine. Oh. You thought Annapolis was the capital of New Hampshire. Hampshire, it is not. Maryland. Maryland. I knew it was up there. Morgan, okay. Are we an official apology for all of our program directors that
Starting point is 01:01:24 have stations in the capitals of all these states? Go ahead. I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart that I am really terrible at studies and I didn't retain the information to make sure. You didn't apologize for the whole group. Okay, okay, okay. They've all shamed our name.
Starting point is 01:01:40 Okay, can I start over? Yeah, go ahead. Okay. I am so sorry from the bottom of all of our hearts that this team is not great with the capitals and geography as much as we all like to think we might be. We're still not. I may be the loser, but we all pretty much suck at geography in this room, okay? Okay. And I'm very sorry that we did this to you guys.
Starting point is 01:02:01 It's not fair to you, and I, you know, I wish I could make it up to you. Good. Now, would you like to do your punishment later this morning or tomorrow? Whatever you want me to do it. I don't know. I'm not looking forward to it either way. You want to do it later today? Okay.
Starting point is 01:02:16 We'll do it in the next hour, Morgan. Okay. All right, 30 minutes out with a sign saying I'm an embarrassment to my friends and family. You don't say why. You just hold it up. Okay? Yeah. But there she is.
Starting point is 01:02:24 Morgan, and there you are. How many states are there? I mean lunchbox. I thought 52. Okay, out of here. All right. All right, here we go. I appreciate you guys being here.
Starting point is 01:02:36 Let's go over and catch up on the big stories. Bobby's Big. Stories. So before I get into this story and start to share and have opinions, I would tell you a couple things. One, four or five years ago, went out and I bought the trademark to Texas Forever from Friday Night Lights. Paid for it. I actually bought it from somebody.
Starting point is 01:02:57 And we use that a lot whenever there are things in Texas specifically that we can help. Now, what we're going to do is we have all this Texas Forever stuff up. And it's on my Can't See Apparel site, which I guess we can link, which I didn't tell Morgan to do this yet. But we ain't keeping any of the money from that. And we were going to make sure that the money goes to the, families of these kids who were killed at the school. So first of all, this is how I and we are going to help directly in this way. So that's number one.
Starting point is 01:03:29 Number two is when this happened, which I will get to in a second, you know, I don't want to be in the place anymore of holding on to a feeling for 12 hours and then coming on the air going, all right, how did I, before I go on the air, how did I feel like what was that emotion? Let me see if I can recall that. I know how I feel now, but the news cycles flipped over. I don't want to do that. So what I did was I went over to the studio I have in my house. And I just hit record.
Starting point is 01:03:57 And I did it like 10 minutes after I read the news story. Maybe 20. I'm not sure. But I recorded it, and it's quite long. And that will be up on the podcast today. So I just wanted my feelings then as raw. and real as they were to be existing somewhere, not me 12 hours later, which is what this is now. Which gets me to the stories, which we will talk about here, and we will roll through as many as we can,
Starting point is 01:04:31 but obviously the biggest one was the story where 19 kids were killed at a massacre at a Texas elementary school. I'll read you the headline, and then we'll talk about it. An 18-year-old gunman killed at least 19 kids and two adults at an elementary school in Texas yesterday. the shooter was shot and killed, but by then it had already become the deadliest American school shootings since Sandy Hook in 2012. So at this point, too, it is
Starting point is 01:04:54 it's a 10,000 tweets, it's all over Instagram, everybody's posting, yeah, let's put her thoughts and prayers and let's care and let's, you know, I get it, it's there, right? And this will be a story to most of you for another few hours,
Starting point is 01:05:07 or maybe it's not, maybe the news cycle's already flipped over. But this is not a new story to the families this happened to. Like right now, there are people having the absolute worst day of their life, a day that it won't get any worse than. Like today, real life human beings are having the worst day of their life. So bad, they probably don't know if they can live. A pain that I don't understand and I have been through some significant pains and I don't even understand.
Starting point is 01:05:45 I don't know what they're feeling. but these are real people in a real town and you read the news and you go wow look at this town that won't happen here until it does until it does and it's happening quite frequently
Starting point is 01:06:02 I think two weeks ago we had a story about a guy that this happened with and his story was in the past he had threatened to shoot up a school yet he still was able to get a gun And so I read this and I try not to lose how sad I am for humans. And these parents that are going through this, again, we have so many parents that listen to this show. We have parents in this room.
Starting point is 01:06:42 Your kid goes to school one day. Your kid doesn't come home from school because your kid's not a lot. Your kid's dead. That's the real life situation of some people today and some people from two weeks ago. Like I just want to let that sit in. that it happens a lot but it doesn't it we shouldn't be numb to it or be just feel like well this happens so much it's not as important because that's what it feels like now i mean if you go 10 years ago somebody shot up a school everything shut down the new shut down the people shut down we
Starting point is 01:07:27 it happens so often now that it's just a headline and then it goes away and it's going to happen again and that sucks and it's going to happen again because we don't have leaders that compromise we don't have good leaders we don't have good leaders
Starting point is 01:07:53 I'm just to say that's a general statement we don't have good leaders period I'm going to compare this to you're in a gym dodgeball and everybody gets on a wall. You got two teams, and two teams are on a wall. You got the red team, they're on a back wall, and you've got the blue team, they're on a back wall.
Starting point is 01:08:09 And being on the back wall, you're the farthest apart. Now, to actually go and compete and play dodge, you've got to, like, get closer together to actually make stuff happen. But what we have become, because of our leaders, plural is a gymnasium of dodgeball players who won't come off the wall.
Starting point is 01:08:37 And if you don't come off the wall, nothing happens. Now, is the answer, putting a bunch of security with guns outside of schools? I'm not saying it's not. But is it? Maybe, maybe, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:08:52 Well, it's going to raise taxes, so I don't want to do it. Okay. Is the answer making sure people that shouldn't have guns, not have guns? I say this as a gun owner. My whole life I've been a gun owner.
Starting point is 01:09:05 I love my guns, but I don't think every idiot should have a gun or everybody that is not mentally capable of having the responsibility of a gun should have a gun. Is that the answer? Well, I don't want to write. Maybe, maybe not. And so my conversation with you now isn't, well, we got to put more people with guns out there. Well, we got to make sure idiots don't have guns. My conversation with you is we have to actually have leaders that care about us and not just being a leader.
Starting point is 01:09:42 Because we don't have them. We don't have people to compromise. It doesn't even have to be this situation. This situation is the catalyst for me having this conversation. But you don't get anything done between two sides if the two sides don't at least engage in a conversation of maybe we can both compromise a little bit. We don't do that. We are so politically divisive,
Starting point is 01:10:12 and right now it affects this, that you got people going, we ain't out, no way, we're not doing background checks. Are you kidding me? Why would you not? Then you have people going, I don't know about it. And I'm like, well, you don't understand guns. I grew up in Arkansas, guns weren't, it's so important.
Starting point is 01:10:26 They were tools to us. But if you're someone who has a sensible approach, you are almost vilified because the polar sides attack so hard and they're so loud that sensible people don't feel like they have a voice. And in this situation, we need somebody to come riding in on a horse captain's sensibility and go, hey, you there on that side of the room, the gym, and you there on that? you're both sacrificing people's lives for what you feel politically that you know what you don't even really feel it. You're just playing to your base.
Starting point is 01:11:19 Both stupid sides. Now I'll be honest with you again, I was pursued to run for the governor of Arkansas by both political parties. Both. If you want to know where I fall, that's kind of your answer? But I refuse to just go, I'm standing on this wall or that wall. Because when you do that, nothing happens. Politicians purposely try to divide us. They want to divide with us and then conquer.
Starting point is 01:11:59 I got news for you. They don't believe half the crap they're saying, both sides. But they know if they don't hop on the base, they ain't going to have a team because sensible people don't have teams. sensible people get attacked from both sides and this segment's going to end in a minute and we're going to move on with our lives and this is going to happen again in three weeks
Starting point is 01:12:18 I'm not going to do this again I'm not going to come up here and do this is about a once a year thing for me where I just get tired and we can walk it all the way back I get tired of our leaders who just want to be leaders for the sake of having that job I get tired of us who keep electing them I get tired of
Starting point is 01:12:41 people being able to get a gun that shouldn't have a gun. I get tired of being judged as a gun owner. I get exhausted of reading headlines about people dying, if it's the mall, if it's a school. And I get really freaking sad. But 19 kids, man. No need for it, man.
Starting point is 01:13:27 I don't even want to cry. In this town of Texas, you just have people having the worst day of their life. It is literal hell. I don't use the word literal. It doesn't mean it. It's literal hell for them. Because our leaders suck.
Starting point is 01:13:53 They suck. I hate it for you guys. I hate it for me. I hate it for these families this week. It'll happen again next week. I hate when people go, you know what? It's a gun problem. No?
Starting point is 01:14:22 Hey people go, it's a mental health problem. No, not just that. It could be both. Hey, people go, you know what, it's a mental health issue? Well, there's mental health problems in other countries. It's happened in other countries. they ain't Brazil that's it Look at the numbers this morning
Starting point is 01:14:37 Brazil that's it Are we Brazil? God I hope not I'm gonna hack about some Brazilians today by the way Saying that It just is It's just I If you keep doing the same thing
Starting point is 01:14:54 Over and over again And nothing changes Why do you even keep doing the same thing? Why don't just quit? I don't know I don't know what to do I don't have the answer to what to do I just I'm just not going to
Starting point is 01:15:10 post something on Instagram and be like, well, you know, I'm going to send my thoughts and prayers, and then that's it, and then move on six hours. I'm not posting anything. Not. Doesn't mean I don't feel it. It doesn't mean I'm not absolutely destroyed in my guts about it. I don't know what to do. I don't know the answer. But what I do know is nobody's searching for the answer. It's even okay to do things wrong. As long as you're trying. That's my point. I don't care if we put the National Guard in front of every school with a bunch of machine guns. That's something. I don't care if we go, hey, let's make sure there ain't a gun near.
Starting point is 01:15:55 I can't. I don't know. I don't know. But this continues to be political. You know what's not political? All these kids that are dead. All these families that are having the worst, worst, worst day of their life. And then tomorrow will be worse than that.
Starting point is 01:16:12 And the next day, it'll be worse than that. And then it'll never end their whole life. And then nothing is done. I don't even care. I'm not even here to voice this is what should be done. I'm not like one of these politicians who think I know everything. I don't know crap. I know where I grew up.
Starting point is 01:16:33 I know what I was influenced by. I like talk to people who grew up in different places and were influenced by different things. I get frustrated when people come at me and scream, I can't believe you have a gun. I can't believe you advocate for the Second Amendment. And they do. And I tell you, I get crushed for it. And then I get crushed from the other side too. And so I know what it's like to not walk up against one of the walls and put my hand on a wall before we play dodgeball.
Starting point is 01:17:02 I will go out to the middle. And you know what happens you got to the middle? Sometimes you get hit with the ball. It sucks and it hurts. but I just don't want to stand against the wall. I'm okay with getting hit by the wall occasionally as long as we're in trying to play the game and fix it and hopefully we keep some kids from being killed
Starting point is 01:17:24 or keep some families at a mall from being killed or keep some... That's it. I don't know the answer, and anyone that tells you they know the answer, they're full of crap. There is no right answer. But there is the ability to try some things
Starting point is 01:17:37 and there is the ability for you not to because you don't agree with the other side not to automatically lock up and go, I don't believe this is not my political party. Well, your political party just wants to divide you. I don't care what party you're on. That's their goal. They want to divide you.
Starting point is 01:17:49 They want you to be on their team. They definitely don't want any nuance. And maybe that's where I'm wrong. Maybe that's why I'm not fit for politics. So anyway, I spent wait too long talking about it. Didn't plan to get emotional. If I just saying it in the easiest, most digestible way,
Starting point is 01:18:13 it just freaking sucks. and it's going to happen again and then it's going to happen again and we'll keep happening because our leaders don't care enough to make it not happen. All right. We will take a break
Starting point is 01:18:33 and I'll tell you what we'll do. We'll come back and we'll do that. I was going to send Morgan out to do the thing with the sign. We'll do it tomorrow the next day. I kind of need a buffer break. So in the next break, I'm just going to sing Love Shack to karaoke for four minutes.
Starting point is 01:18:48 I'll join. Yeah, that'll kind of mix it up. We'll do the news as we were going to do it except for that story. That'll be next. That's all. All right, back in a minute. Hit it again, Ray.
Starting point is 01:22:34 Bobby's Big. Stories. So there's this couple, and their cat dies, and they're sad about the cat dying, so they bury the cat. They wake up the next day, and the cat is alive at their door. and they're like, what, it's a ghost cat? They buried the wrong cat. So what happened was that the vet, the vet had the cat's remains. I guess they had remained out the wrong cat.
Starting point is 01:22:59 Oh, got it. Give them the wrong remains. They thought they had their cat, but the cat was actually alive. So the one they buried is still in the ground, but that just wasn't theirs. But wouldn't you flip your crap? Yes. If your dead cat showed up at your door? Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:23:13 I would think I was seeing things, and I was crazy. Well, there's a ghost dog in my little neighborhood. And you might be seeing things. No, I've seen it multiple times. And you might be crazy. I don't know. Anyway, there's that. There's a woman who is riding a roller coaster and her Apple Watch comes off of her wrist.
Starting point is 01:23:34 And so she was on a ride at Epcot Center. And what happened was, somebody picked it up. It was like, let me just check it out. And all of a sudden they were hooked up to her Apple Pay and they spent $40,000 in fraudulent charges. Wow. That is insane. What are the odds that someone bad ends up with your watch? That's also, you're accurate because most people aren't. I think Luke said it best. Most people are good. He believes. Yeah. And not only do you have to have the bad luck of it falling off while you're writing, but then it falls into the hands of someone that's going to scam. Out of everyone there. And is it an older watch then? Because mine has a pen I got to put in it. Like I have my code, you know, six.
Starting point is 01:24:15 What? You can? Yeah. So that is extremely unfortunate. They racked up $40,000 in charges. $40,000. But here's another situation where Eddie's your baseball game, like your kid's baseball game? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:27 Somebody had stuff stolen while they're at the game? Yeah, the game was happening, and their car was probably 100 yards away. And he goes back, one of the dads, he goes back, and his wallet's missing. So he calls the credit card company and said, yeah, we were wondering because you have $4,000 worth the charges at Target that happened in the last 10 minutes. So, they grabbed, they stole, and they charged quickly. Quickly, a Target, which is probably... They didn't have cameras on those people in Target? Surely they do.
Starting point is 01:24:54 Oh, at Target, probably. But while that happened, I mean, it was within 30 minutes from stealing the wallet to making the charges. The Target's probably five minutes from where we were at. But my point is, if they went into Target and actually used them in person, there's probably video of them using the card. Absolutely. Unless they went on Target.com, and then you could shut that down. No, I think they went to the actual physical store.
Starting point is 01:25:13 So, yeah, they're probably on camera somewhere. That's crazy. And let this be a reminder that we're still vulnerable, even if we're 100. You were vulnerable all the time. You're sitting in front of me right now, and I feel like you're vulnerable right now. But I feel as though I kind of treat, like maybe similar to this guy, can't speak to his exact situation, but I'm like, oh, I'm just right over here. I'll leave my car unlocked and all my stuff right here because who would rob me right in front of me.
Starting point is 01:25:36 I have been guilty of thinking similar things before. Right. I'm just going to leave my keys in here. Who cares? No big deal. My two-year-old cousin. I'm just going to leave me in the back. Not that part.
Starting point is 01:25:46 I don't even have a two-year-old cousin. From New York Post, an influencer says the yoga Barbie doll spreads Satanism. Yasmine Surrey is a conservative Christian speaker, author, singer, and recently did something called Breathe With Me on Facebook, where she claims that the yoga Barbie doll is Satan's attempt to use an indoctrinate children. She then went back again and said, remove all toys and clean children's rooms. of demonic attachments. This feels like Harry Potter, though, back in the day. Or Twilight. Yeah, well, yeah, I guess so.
Starting point is 01:26:23 I just remember that being a big thing. Like, my church I went to, it was like, if you were reading Twilight, you were, oh, my gosh. You know, what's crazy. I was older, but. You know, I grew up in a Southern Baptist church, and we were not even that hardcore about stuff like that. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 01:26:36 And I grew up in a Southern Baptist church, and there was, and we listened, I listened to Diamond Rio, I listened to Nirvana. Crazy music. But it wasn't ever, I was never taught. I have so many friends who grew up in similar situations and they weren't allowed or they had to do it secretly. My church was like, you know what you're listening to. Just make your decisions based on your beliefs. But that is not, that's atypical of when I grew up, where I grew up in the exact kind of church.
Starting point is 01:27:06 We could dance. We can dance. That's why I'm such a good dancer. Yeah, we could dance. I got early started at it. I feel like we could dance. We go to dance, everyone. Good notes, everyone.
Starting point is 01:27:16 So, yeah, I mean, it's just very legalistic at times. From the Daily Mail, by the way, does anyone think yoga barbies? No. No, no, no, no. Part of Satan, no. From the Daily Mail, a Maryland man pretended to be a police officer 15 years with a fake badge, real gun, and trained a dog. But he fell apart when he tried to detain a pair of restaurant patrons over a bill dispute. Why can you tell me about this story?
Starting point is 01:27:36 I mean, so he, even his girlfriend was in on it, and he'd been busted for impersonating a police officer like three different times. And so he's at a restaurant. they tried to walk out on the bill or whatever, and he tries to intervene like he's a cop. Like he inserted himself in it. They didn't even ask the cops. They didn't say, hey, man, is there any cops here? He just saw it. He's like, hey, man, I'm a man of the law.
Starting point is 01:27:55 And so then the patrons, I don't know if they even get in trouble, but he gets in trouble. What an idiot. What an idiot. I mean, if you want power that much, go be a bouncer outside of a bar. Yeah, or there's these security firms that you're not even a real cop, but you, you know, I don't even know what they do, but they're like at the restaurant. Like I went to a barbecue restaurant, though, and I went to a barbecue restaurant. there's an armed guard. I'm like,
Starting point is 01:28:14 armed or flashlight guard? No. Armed Well, then they have to, there's a different training to be an armed anything. Well, this guy is armed. I mean, he's walking around. That's illegal. I mean, he's not a real cop. That's my point. Also, in the news, there's an Air Force base and near the Air Force base, there were airplanes, right?
Starting point is 01:28:33 We're on the same page here. And airplanes when they fly over the top, they are loud because their airplanes are loud. And people that still live in this town are calling 911 about jet noise. Oh, my. I mean, jets are super They're really loud I don't know if they're like
Starting point is 01:28:45 Firefighter fighter jets But again, it's an Air Force base Yeah, I know You live in the town with the Air Force base That's like living next to McDonald's Going like, man, it just smells too much like hamburgers Well, you live next to the McDonald's Every day
Starting point is 01:28:57 Police in Dover, Delaware Constantly get calls about jet noise Despite it being home To the military's largest airport Task and Purpose.com Parents will be able to sue Tech firms for $25,000 if their children become addicted to social media under California bill.
Starting point is 01:29:15 I mean, Kayling could probably get $25,000 a buck right now. You could too. Well, she'd sue because of me. Yeah, she'd be like, he's a guy, I won't get off of this stuff. That's from the Daily Mail. Senators will soon vote on whether to permit parents to sue platforms, such as Instagram or TikTok for up a $25,000 per violation. What happened to parental responsibility?
Starting point is 01:29:34 But also, these companies are doing things purposefully that make it addictive. Okay, but also candy, sugar. It's just depending on the generation we're in, people are always cigarette things. So them all. How about parents? Parent your kids. I agree with that. I agree with that. But if we find out and you can actually prove that they were doing things per, and you probably can in some instances, doing things purposefully to like the cigarette when they had the camel, Joe Camel, to attract kids. Right. Like you can prove that where they're purposefully going after kids, but okay, let's talk. But no How about let the parents
Starting point is 01:30:14 Make the parents be parents Well I'm sure the politicians will make the right decision They always do am all right They just they're so spot on Another baby formula shipment to arrive in the United States today A second shipment of baby formula set to arrive 39 tons Enough to make more than one million bottles
Starting point is 01:30:31 That's great Million bottles that's from CBS News A woman wins the lottery and gives half of it To charity causes Amazing Pause for lunchbox is a great own. There you go. And cue it.
Starting point is 01:30:43 A 55-year-old ex-teacher in England won 130 million bucks, and she's given over half of the way of good causes. She says, this is too much money to have. I get it. No, you don't get you. Stop. You kidding. I like to say out loud. I get it. And I like to think
Starting point is 01:30:58 that because of my circumstances, how I grew up, I like to think that I am giving back at a rate that would make my grandmother proud. Because I think if you come from very little, you're either scared to give any other way or you give it all the way. And I hope I'm more on that side B, but that being said, it's easier to say than to do. I mean, you don't know when you go broke from winning the lottery, people like this, they give half of it away
Starting point is 01:31:23 immediately. Yeah, but $130 million. I would think that's not the case, lunchbox. I would think people that give half away to charity aren't the people that are spending recklessly and go broke. Because if you're given half away, you're not being reckless with it. You just recklessly gave away $75 million. I don't think people that are, hear me out, they're given half of their lottery winnings away to Charities are also buying seven Lamborghinies and nine houses because in their mind, their priorities are different. Oh, I see what you're saying. Wow, he sees it. That is crazy.
Starting point is 01:31:49 Good job. I thought you were about to say something. Gross. Yeah. I see what you're saying, but I disagree with it. Hey, look at us. But I mean, you can see it. Stephen Tyler checks himself into a rehab after a drug relapse.
Starting point is 01:32:00 Stephen Tyler, elite singer of Aerosmith voluntarily checked into rehab. So he has had issues on and off with drugs and going into rehab, but he had broke his foot. it. And so he had to take pain medicine. And depending on your addiction, and I'm going to speak very vaguely coming from a family of addicts, some know pain medicine at all because they know if I go to this pain medicine, I can't. Right? They know they can't. And I'm not exactly sure all the details of this. This is what has happened in a way. After foot surgery, prepare for the stage in the necessity of pain management. He has recently relapsed in a voluntary interdreatment program to concentrate
Starting point is 01:32:41 in health and recovery. Maybe that's what happened. I don't know. But I would think it's something in that world. One, rooting for him. Yeah. Two, if he voluntarily checked himself in, that's great. That's great. So that means he's trying to get ahead of what he's already at. And I love Stephen Tyler.
Starting point is 01:33:00 One of my most fun moments ever is the first time meeting him coming to the show. And I got to be, I wouldn't say friends, but we got to be friendly. and is really cool and he's the nicest guy all the time. It's awesome. Yeah, I talked to him in the parking garage after about green juice for about five minutes.
Starting point is 01:33:16 Yeah, yeah. Amy, I got that green juice. I just got two more stories here. Watching less than one hour of TV a day could lower heart disease. It sounds like it has less to do with the TV than sitting for long periods of time, right? Because watching a lot of TV, you're just sitting.
Starting point is 01:33:33 But reducing television viewing to less than one hour a day could prevent one in nine cases of coronary heart disease according to new research. That's from study finds.org. And then finally, new research finds people aren't losing weight for looks anymore. New research reveals that there's a big shift in why people are actually making different eating choices. It's not just to lose weight and to look certain way. It's actually to be healthier.
Starting point is 01:33:56 According to the results, 83% of those polls say that since the pandemic, they lose some weight. It ain't because they don't look the way they want to look. it's mostly because they want to live a healthier life and they realize that some of the extra weight was really unhealthy for them. So pretty good. Pretty good. Hey, growth.
Starting point is 01:34:13 This is a segment of growth, I will say. Yeah. That's from the Today Show. All right, there you go. That's the news. Thank you. Bobby's Big. Stories.
Starting point is 01:34:22 All right, big night for you, Amy. Your daughter's graduating middle school? Yeah, eighth grade. Eighth grade has a graduation? Yeah. They graduate every grade? No. Not every grade.
Starting point is 01:34:31 No, it's just on from middle school. and then she'll be in high school. But I don't recall having any sort of graduation from eighth grade, but they did. And here we are. We had one crazy. At 12th grade. And we were lucky to have that one.
Starting point is 01:34:43 Yeah. Yeah, there was no. So, but it's just crazy to think of her going into high school, meaning, I mean, it seems just cliche yesterday. You're, you know, moving her here from Haiti in the orphanage. I know. And looking back, she's so little. And now she definitely, she's an, she looks like an adult.
Starting point is 01:35:00 Like, she's whatever age she is, she's 15, but she might as well be 20. like we're freaking out. Well, what do you do for that? Do you have a party? No, we didn't. I mean, we didn't. No, I mean, it was celebration enough. Like, we're just excited that, you know, she's worked really, really hard and we're
Starting point is 01:35:17 proud of all that she's accomplished in the last four years, especially, like, coming here, not knowing any English. And just to talk to some people that have been in school with her and they've seen her growth. Like, I'm just very proud of her. But we didn't, like, go over the top. I mean, should we have? Eighth grade. Save it for high school.
Starting point is 01:35:36 Does she go to a different building for high school? Yeah. She's in the smallest. She's going to a different school. And she's small anyways. I guess I mean the youngest grade. Because I went to a school, total, total school from kindergarten through 12th grade with 600 people. And so basically it was a hill and there were two buildings.
Starting point is 01:35:56 And the bottom building, with a couple little buildings, was the elementary kindergarten through sixth grade. Then when you went to high school, it was seventh grade. So you walked up to Hill in seventh grade was with 12th grade. And I was tiny and had a big mouth. And probably had a big mouth because I was tiny. Like that was my way to. Like a physical big mouth or you talked a lot? Well, I talked a lot.
Starting point is 01:36:18 But I had a big head. Yeah, I knew anyone was going there. So seventh grade, you're tiny, tiny. And I just gets crammed in lockers. I got my head stuck in the toilet. Yeah. And you're in ninth grade. You have a fighting chance.
Starting point is 01:36:28 You're two years developed, three years developed. But good for her. That's cool. Yeah, no, when she starts, she'll be ninth grade, so she'll be bottom and then, you know, she'll be with the seniors. But we're so excited. Ray, will you play voicemail number one? This is Emily from Nashville. I actually have one of the show members coming to a restaurant that I work at a few times now.
Starting point is 01:36:55 And I always want to say something to her, but I don't, just because I don't want her to feel awkward. but if you're out somewhere and someone and your waiter or waitress recognizes you would you rather than say something before or something when you're done eating so tell me what you think. Done, the end. Here's why.
Starting point is 01:37:18 When you're done eating. Yeah. Yeah, done. When I'm done eating because I don't the whole time want you to be like, okay, does she really hate me and she can't spend my food? I don't want to have to worry about that. I want to just eat.
Starting point is 01:37:28 I'd love to talk to you. And it happens a lot with me where people are like, I'm a big fan of the show. Always love it at the end. But you should always do it before we tip because then we have the pressures on us. To be like, oh, they listen to the show, I got a tip big. But after, because then we're not worried about somebody messing with our food. Because if you're like back there in the kitchen, like, hey, guess what?
Starting point is 01:37:45 Morgan from the By Bone Show is here. And someone's like, I hate Morgan who works in the kitchen. And they're like, oh, no, I hope the chef doesn't hate me and spit in my food. Yeah, that's a good point. So after, but always say hello, it's pretty cool. and we always love to for people to be like, hey, love the show because that's our job.
Starting point is 01:38:03 And so, yeah, that's it. Bobby Boneshow. Boney up the day. This story comes to us from England. A 55-year-old man went to McDonald's and he ordered a McMuffin with egg and sausage and when they paid,
Starting point is 01:38:18 it was too cold, so he wanted his money back. They gave him $2.15 back, but he wanted it put it on his car and they said, sir, we gave you the $2.15 cents, please leave. He said, nope. He sat in the drive-thru for two hours and blocked the drive-thru. What, two hours?
Starting point is 01:38:32 Now, you can't do that, right? But I understand that. I understand feeling so stubborn about something that I'm just going to sit. And if he put it on his car, he probably wanted it back on his car. Why could they not do that? They said, sir, we already gave you the money. We don't need to put it back on the car. I guess it has to be a certain amount for them to put it back on the car.
Starting point is 01:38:52 And so they had to call police and he was escorted out of the drive-thru after two hours. I don't condone that. However, I understand that. I've been there. I've been there, too. And I'm wrong. I'm wrong. I'm wrong.
Starting point is 01:39:04 I'm wrong. I'm wrong. I'm wrong. That's your bonehead story of the day. So you're in a store, Amy. I know this happens similarly to you where your kids spilled some stuff on some clothes. Oh, yeah. My son spilled slurpy over everything.
Starting point is 01:39:19 It was awful. So let's just elevate that a bit where there's a story where a five-year-old destroyed this sculpture that's worth $6,000 in the store. If this happens to you, let's. say you're in Abercrombie. You're not going to be, but it's the first story that came to mine. Okay. You're in Abercrombie. There's a big statue, a gold statue of a shirtless dude. And your son knocks over, shatters it, but nobody sees you do it. Now, that's worth $5,000, $7,000. What do you do? We have, we say something. So I don't, I'm sure. You do. You go and you go. I would assume Abercrombie is going to say,
Starting point is 01:39:53 hey, okay, we have insurance for this, so you're good. But if not, then it's our responsibility. My son knocked it over and then... But they want you to pay for it. $6,000. Okay. Well, that is unfortunate. My son is going to be doing a lot of shores. Like a lot. We have to winning a lot of jujitsu tournaments.
Starting point is 01:40:08 Yes. We are going to be selling things. We'll figure it out. If this happens and you're in there with your kids. There's no cameras, right? This is hypothetical, no cameras. I'm not even worried about cameras. I'm out.
Starting point is 01:40:18 You're out anyway. I'm out anyway. You can put me on camera. That's fine. Whatever. I don't know if we're backing up slowly or if we're running out. But one way, we're getting out. You grab your kid or do you leave you?
Starting point is 01:40:27 No, no. I pick my kid up because if I say, we got to go now. Why, Dad, why, Dad, Dad. No, no. I'll explain to you when you're 13 in therapy. Oh, my God. So you would leave. I would leave, never go back.
Starting point is 01:40:39 What if you were in Amy's situation where her kids spilled purple drink, not drink, different? Like purple drink all over like white jackets. I would probably, I wouldn't say anything. Just leave. So there's a dad who had to pay for this because this happened. is a $6,000 telotubby. Telatubi. In a toy store, and it was like gold-plated, and I'm looking at a picture of it, shattered,
Starting point is 01:41:05 like the heads off, little parts everywhere. And so he's like, hey, I'll pay for it, but they're like, this is a $6,700 sculpture, so yes, you have to pay for it. But I think when he did it, he thought it was like $300. Oh, my gosh. So they have now agreed to what the conversation will be off. They're not telling people. They've agreed to something.
Starting point is 01:41:25 but I just wonder what you guys would do if you'd stay with your kids. So what it says is it doesn't pay to be honest. But I don't think you're trying. I don't think you're being honest to pay. I think you're being honest because there's something inside of you, a compass that guides you to be honest. And if you're not honest, it bothers some people more than others. Now, I'd sleep well at night knowing I save myself $6,000.
Starting point is 01:41:43 But then what if it happened to you? What would you expect someone to do? I don't have anything worth that much. Would you say hypothetically? If someone's at my house and they break something, you better believe you're paying for it. You'd never buy another telotubby again, would you go play to? No, exactly. That's from the Daily Mail.
Starting point is 01:41:56 That's the story. All right, we're done. Bobby Bones. Show. All right, if you have ever dealt with a traditional home security company, you know the drill.
