Hey, welcome to Wednesday's show.
Morning studio.
Morning.
Hope everybody's good.
We will start off with the news
that lunchbox is being hacked by Russia.
There you have it.
Okay.
No, guys, it's not funny.
Like, it's serious.
Like, I tried to log in to Instagram and it said,
sorry, we just detected a suspicious login attempt
and it had a little red dot and it said,
Russia.
And I'm like, uh, why are they coming after me?
So you think you are, there's Ukraine and then there's you.
I mean, I guess so.
I don't.
Why would it say, like, why would Russia be,
trying to get into my Instagram right at this time in the world.
Like, it seems crazy to me.
Do you think it's Putin related?
I do think he is after my Instagram.
Oh, my gosh.
I mean, he is Nashville top 25.
You don't even have a blue check mark.
I understand that, but Putin still knows that I'm pretty famous and that I have a lot of
followers, so maybe he wants more people to get his message?
I don't know.
Putin.
He calls him Putin.
What are you called?
Putin. His name.
Oh, his name. Putin.
I'm just telling you that it was a scary situation when I logged into my Instagram and it said,
sorry, you are trying to, someone trying to log in from Russia.
I immediately shut down Instagram. I was like, oh my gosh, I don't know what to do.
I can tell you with this whole situation happening now, if you gave me a map, I probably couldn't,
just a map with no labels on any country. And maybe only now, but I never could have went that
Ukraine. I could never take a finger and pointed and said that's Ukraine. Don't know anything
about Ukraine except a couple of boxers and a guy that I know from Dancing with the Stars from
Ukraine. But now it seems everybody I know on Twitter and Facebook is an expert on Ukraine
and the Russia-Ukraine situation. It is like everyone that used to know everything about COVID
and we're doctors, they are now experts in the Russia-Ukraine situation. Anyone else experiencing
this right now?
Yeah, I have some friends that are now into world politics.
I kind of know how this should be handled or what Putin is thinking and why this is happening.
Yeah, all the answers.
And it just turns out that how they feel about it lines up with the political people that they follow and how they feel about it as well.
So, you know, it is a fluid situation.
It is extremely sad, but don't believe anybody that you know.
from down the street when they talk about Ukraine.
Has anyone here ever...
Does anyone know anything about Ukraine before the situation happened?
Not really.
No, I've just seen them on like Olympics and stuff.
Yeah, it seems like everybody now, they know exactly how to end the crisis.
Send in troops.
Don't send in troops.
I can't believe we're not doing...
You don't know Jack Krab!
You don't know anything!
So, you know, that's most of my timeline right now.
Ukraine has created an IT army to hack Russia, and they're calling for people that,
hey, if you know how to hack, we could use you in this army.
And so, I don't know what Mike D's been up to, but I feel like this is something he'd be in.
Like somehow, we don't even know what hacking Mike D. is doing, but he's in the Ukrainian
IT army in the day, and then he comes and does this in the morning.
But we're here.
All right, let's open up the mailbag.
You send an email and we read it all the air.
It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag.
Yeah.
Hello, Bobby Bones.
My name is Jack.
I wanted to start this email by telling you how much I love your show and I listen every morning.
I've been shopping for an engagement ring for my girlfriend, but I've had trouble finding something nice that I could afford until I found the deal of this century.
The deal is from a guy that I work with who proposed to his ex-girlfriend last year.
She said no.
Then they broke up.
He held on to the ring case they got back together, but according to him, that's not going to happen.
It's a two-carat ring
And he offered to me for half of what he paid for it
So I want to get it while he's still offering
The only thing I worry about
Is that my girlfriend won't be happy
When I'm giving her a ring intended for another woman
Do you think she will care
Since it's way nicer than I can afford
Signed Jack?
Okay, the question is
Can you give an engagement ring to somebody
That was meant for someone else?
Amy?
Gosh, I feel like my younger self would say absolutely not. This is ridiculous. But I've gotten wiser with age. And I'm like, come on. Is it really that big of a deal? So I guess I would have to come up with some sort of a compromise for him, which would be like, take the diamond because that's the most valuable part of the ring and reset it on a different band and something that is more, you know, your woman's taste and vibe. And then it's totally different. Because sometimes people buy diamonds used. This is like a use.
diamond and he's getting a two-carat diamond for half the price. Like, I would just reset it on a
different band. End of story. First of all, I wouldn't believe that you're getting a great deal on
the ring. Because if the guy could get more money, he would. He's not going to sell it to you
and take a hit when he could go to a jewelry store and sell it and make more money. So first off,
I wouldn't believe his sales pitch that you're saving all this money. Because we all know
he'd go anywhere and sell it for what it's worth. And quite, and quite,
easily. Two, you know, you want to know the kind of style that your girl likes before you give
her that ring. Can you turn this into that style? Like can you just rip the diamond out like Amy
says, but still build her the ring that she wants? You just don't want to get her something that
she doesn't like because you're saving a few bucks. Now I understand saving the money's a big deal.
You were going to buy a ring anyway. You know, you mentioned Amy.
me when you were young, you would have felt different about this.
Well, if very young, she's going to feel different about this.
Yeah, I just want her to consult with her future self.
And be like, this is that big of a deal?
Hey, it's always easier to consult with your past self than it is your future self.
I know, I know.
But also, you bring up a good point, though, and I just want to say he probably should
take extra caution.
And because it's just some random guy, he needs to take the ring and have it appraise
before he pays this guy.
If you can line all of that up fine.
But the problem is, eventually she's going to,
know, I mean, is she the kind of person that that's really going to bother? There are a lot of factors.
I'm going to say it's probably 80% chance that this is not going to work out, but that doesn't
mean you can initially chase it. But I would think, Jack, that one, you're not going to get
that great deal of a ring on a ring. Dude's not going to give you a break. And then two,
she may hate it. And then three, you may not be able to build the, you know, the kind of style or
the cut that she really likes. So, you know, do your investigating, do your research, but then you're
probably going to have to go and do what you were going to do originally, and that's get her
the ring that you were going to get her. So those are my thoughts. Amy, after I've said that,
did I change your mind at all? I mean, yeah, he does need to investigate if it's something she'll
really like if it turns out that she can handle that cut. Because I don't think you can change the
cut, but he can change the setting. He can change the setting. And so I just would be, I would
entertain that idea if it all works out after an appraisal. I'm glad you brought up like the guy
why would the guy want to lose money on this?
And so I just want to make sure that the diamond's even real.
Yeah, unless he's running from the law or something.
And even then you can give it to a friend to trade it in.
Yeah.
You know?
So, Jack, good luck.
Due diligence for sure.
I don't think it's going to work out for you.
But if it is awesome, but chase it down and for sure appraise the ring.
All right, buddy.
We've got your email and we read it on the air.
Now it's about to close Bobby's mail back.
Yeah.
Amy, how do I get a ticket to you?
your party tonight? Well, you have to be a mom who has either adopted or fostered children.
This will be a rager. Yeah. Okay. Sounds fun. Yeah, you're probably not going to get a ticket.
But yeah, and I don't know, the number is somewhere between, yeah, 25 and 30.
At your house? Yeah, it's a group that I recently joined and it's hosted, like I've been at other
places, but this is my first time hosting at my house. And it wasn't until last minute that I also
found out that that means I'm in charge of, or I kind of guess I overlooked the fact that I'm in
charge of discussion points and topics and leading some things. And I was like, oh, I thought that
like, y'all still handled that part. I just, you know, put out snacks. Yeah, I guess my mind
went to who has to pay for all the food and all the drinks. Well, I did because I offered to host. So,
Wow.
Yeah, and I was like, okay, 25 moms who don't get to leave their house that often, like, how many bottles of wine?
How many bottles of wine did you have to buy or did you buy?
Well, so far, I have five in the fridge.
Eish, may need more.
Oh, you need more than that.
Is that just for you?
Okay, hello, no, these are moms that have to go home.
Yeah, but they're adopted and fostering, though.
They're driving.
And so it's not like to have multiple drinks.
but, you know, and I got little, you know, four-ounce cups, so I think it'll be fine.
And some of the other moms have texted saying, hey, I've heard that it's a bigger crowd
than usual, I'll bring a bottle or whatever. I'm like, okay.
But I also have hummus and chips and cookies and snacks and a whiteboard with a race markers
because I have an activity.
I'm going to put names in a hat to give away some prizes.
And I have some topic discussions and printed out cute little, like, cards.
that I want to pass out as reminders that when things feel hard, it's like not because they're
doing anything wrong. It's because what they're doing is hard. And that's from Dr. Becky Goodenside,
shout out. And so I just wanted it. I wanted to be a fun experience. So that's my night in a nutshell.
So what if you get lingers and it's like 11 o'clock? No, that can't happen. And it's like the mom
who never gets to leave the house. And she's like, I need more wine. I don't want to go home.
How do you, what do you do? Okay. Well, in that case, I will probably totally understand and be like,
Can I make you a palette or like a, you want to sleep in the guest room or do you want to like stay on the couch?
Just like, I get it.
Sometimes you just can't quite go back home and I understand.
So it can't be that long though because like I also have kids and they're going to be leaving so that we can have this and then, you know, they'll come back.
I don't know.
I'm hoping like 9 o'clock is going to be the cutoff.
Well, this is what I would tell you as someone who has an occasional.
gathering at their house. You need to let everybody know what time the party's over. And I know that
you're going to be like, oh, you know, the crumudgeon, but it helps everyone. It lets them know
when to leave because they're also nervous. Like, they don't know when to leave. Maybe they want to
leave and they can't. And it also gets everyone clear of your house at a certain point. So I would
advise somehow you go, hey, party's over at nine. Okay. Feels a little rough when you say it,
but feels good when they're out at nine.
Well, I'll figure something out, yeah.
But the good thing is it's this group of women.
They gather every month.
So, again, this is not the first gathering.
So they kind of know the, there's a flow.
So I think that by nine, they'll be flowing out the door.
Yeah, flowing a direction.
Over under on total bottles of wine tonight before we go.
You're asking me?
I only chilled five.
I'm saying 13 bottles of wine for 25 women.
Golly.
That's good.
25 women.
I'd go over that, bones.
It's like half a bottle per person.
Okay.
Amy, let us know tomorrow, if you can keep an eye out, how many bottles of wine that all of the adopted mothers went through?
Okay.
I will let you know.
Okay, I'm saying the number set at 13 and Eddie's going over.
Yep.
Okay.
We'll check back in tomorrow.
It's time for the good news.
With Bobby.
Tell me something good.
Okay, so a woman in Maryland was in a car accident.
She's fine.
The car had to be towed away.
pretty messed up, not totaled, but pretty messed up.
So as the car was being towed away,
she thought, you know what, I should make some good out of this.
And so she went into the store near where the accident happened,
and she put her license plate, the numbers in her license plate,
into the pick five lottery.
And so she did a 50 cent bet, and she won $25,000.
And then with that, she bought herself,
at least to put a big down payment on a new convertible.
Wow.
So Interrek, use the license plate.
one money is now going to buy a convertible. It's going to upgrade her car.
Lunchbox doesn't make you feel.
It's gross because, I mean, she got in a wreck and she gets this money.
I go to the, I have these strategies I've used for years, and she just happens to pick up her old license plate that, oh, the car's gone, let me use these numbers.
And it's like, ah, Lee, why doesn't that happen to me?
But what is, what do you learn from that?
Then maybe I should use my license plate and put those numbers in the lottery.
No.
No. What there is to learn is that.
that nothing you're doing strategy-wise makes a bit of difference. It is all luck. And the odds are
overwhelmingly that you're never going to win a large amount of money. Okay, I see what you're
saying, but yes, if you stay disciplined enough, you always say practice makes perfect.
You can't practice to get better at the lottery. And I don't always say practice makes perfect.
I never say that, actually. Oh, well, you say fight and run and repeat. So you say keep doing it
over and over and over again, you'll get good results.
That's true.
That I do. That I do. Okay, that's what it's all about. That was tell me something good.
So a few days ago, Caitlin and I were in California. We went to watch a softball tournament. Our brother-in-law, coaches at Utah, and his mom is the head coach at Oklahoma. And so we went to watch them play. I guess that's what you do now when you have family. You go and you support family. And so we go and we're staying at this hotel in Palm Springs, about to go to the softball game. And Caitlin and I are walking up to have breakfast.
and it's just this little outdoor restaurant,
nothing super fancy or anything.
And she grabs my arm and goes,
oh my goodness.
I'm like, what, what?
She goes, look.
And sitting at the table is Larry David.
Larry David is like her number one most famous,
the person she loves the most.
He created Seinfeld with Jerry Seinfeld,
and we watch Curbier Enthusiasm
every day now.
And so he's that guy, old guy, balding on top,
His hair's kind of crazy around the edges, real tall and skinny.
But he's sitting there with his wife, and she's like, that's Larry David.
I'm like, no way.
And Iby Dang, it was Larry David, his wife, and their dog.
But they're so rich that at one point they ordered sausage from the restaurant,
and they just chopped it up and put it on a plate for the dog to eat, like multiple pieces of sausage.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
That's how you know you got money.
When you can order off the menu for your dog.
and so, you know, we were sitting so close
I could hear him talk.
And so he was talking to his wife and, you know, in the show,
he's always, you know, negative and a bit quirky.
And he's going, okay, we just wanted to park.
And there was a car in front of us and it was electric
and it was plugged in charging and we needed to get by it.
But they said they couldn't because the car was charging.
Just unplugged the car and move it.
And we'll go by and then re-plug in the car.
And he was like on a little tangent.
And I felt like I was getting my very own private Larry David show.
It was really a...
And for me, I thought it was cool, but Kaelin loved him.
And she was just trying...
I mean, we were facing him, and we were trying so hard
not to be those people that are staring or taking pictures.
And credit to us, well, mostly me,
because she's not going to take a picture of anybody like that.
I didn't take a picture.
I did not take a creeper picture.
And they went along their merry way.
We never bothered them.
They had a nice breakfast.
and we have a cool story to tell about it.
I feel pretty good.
The question, though, was, and she asked me,
who is your number one person if you were to see out,
that you would freak out?
Because to her, it's Larry David,
and we happen to stumble right upon them.
Of everybody, hers is Larry David.
So mine would be David Letterman.
If I were to go into a restaurant
and I were seated at a table,
I look over and I see David Letterman,
I would be in shock,
and I probably wouldn't be able to keep my composure,
or it would be really difficult not to say hello.
I don't think I would, but that would be difficult for me.
So mine's David Letterman.
Amy, yours?
Julia Roberts.
I mean, I have a long list, but that would probably be very difficult for me.
Like, there's just, like, years.
I've watched her as a little girl to like to see her out, and she's someone I've never seen before.
So I would definitely try to watch her without her knowing, but I probably wouldn't say anything, especially if she's eating.
Amy's number one's Julia Roberts.
Mine's David Letterman.
Eddie, what's yours?
Eddie Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam, I mean, come on, this is my whole childhood
growing up, listening to Pearl Jam, but Bones, I think I would just stare at him and not
have the guts to go talk to him at all.
Well, I wouldn't go talk to David Letterman.
I would maybe if he were walking out, I would say, hey, I'm a huge fan, like as he's moving
out so he doesn't have to stop.
You know, once I saw David Spade sitting at a restaurant, and I think David Spade's super
funny, and I don't want to bother him, and he wasn't eating.
He was just sitting there ready for his food, and I walked by him to go to the
bathroom, didn't say anything. So then when I walked back, I didn't stop and Instagram, I said,
hey, huge fan. Hope you have a good dinner. And he goes, hey, thanks, man. Boom. And then he wrote about
me on his Instagram. And hey, there was the fan that came up to me and did the coolest thing.
Just said hi and kept walking. He did? And I was like, yeah, that's me. He's playing it cool.
No. He did that? On his Instagram story. And it was you? Yes. Phones.
Serious? I've told you guys that. Yeah, but, okay. Somehow that didn't stick.
You were serious, I guess. It didn't stick. Yeah, no, he did.
Oh, coincident.
Wow.
Well, Amy did freak out when she saw Reese Witherspoon, and I was with her, and it was embarrassing a little bit.
It was not embarrassing.
Okay, explain what happened.
Okay, first of all, she wasn't eating, and second of all, it was at an industry-type event.
So I feel like the vibe is different, and people are there because of work and being honor for your work.
And while she's not a country music singer and is an award show, I still saw her backstage, and she's there.
Like, it was just, hey, I feel like saying hi to her in that moment, quick.
was totally appropriate and not embarrassing.
And what did you say?
I think I said something like, I'm a big fan?
What did I say?
Well, you kind of creepily walked up to her.
And you know how if something's hot and you try to touch it and you're like,
oh, I don't know if I should or not?
Oh, did I say, can I touch you?
That was weird.
Yes.
No, I didn't.
Yeah, and you touched her shoulder.
Oh, yeah, that's weird.
Yes.
I guess I've locked that part out.
You know?
Yes.
Lunchbox, too, is yours.
Oh, it used to be Johnny Bananas, but I saw him.
So now it has to be Chelsea Halska from Teen Mom 2.
If I saw her in public, I would just, I would lose it.
I feel that's possible.
I think you could probably just call her.
Look up her number online.
And she's a teen mom.
And that's the number one.
Yeah, number one.
She's teen mom too, and she's off that show.
Now she has a redecorating show on HD TV or one of those channels.
And, I mean, she's big time, guys.
All right, this woman Elizabeth Dumbermouth, 41 years old, was arrested because she was yelling at an American Airlines employee about a lost bag.
Like, apparently she was just giving her the business.
Officers, before they arrested her, attempted to calm her down, but then she started getting louder, cursing, creating a scene in the baggage claim area.
If you don't stop, you're going to get arrested, and then she got in the face of an officer while screaming.
She was released after posting bonds.
She was going to appear in court April 1st.
well I bet she is hard to live with
I bet this is not
you know someone acting like this for the first time ever
this is someone that when a little bit of stress hits them
that they've probably been pretty entitled
and so this is their
semi-normal reaction
again I'm building all this from one story that I read
but normal people don't scream at folks
for a lost bag and also to do that in public
because you know every cell phone was out recording her
I would have been I think Eddie and I
were in Arkansas, or maybe it was Caitlin and I.
Oh no, I was there at the rental car place?
The basketball party? Yes, that's where it was. Yes.
Eddie and I were at the rental car place in the airport, and this woman is just giving the guy,
again, the business. Amy, we were ready. She's screaming. By ready, we were recording with our
phones. I pulled my phone out and I was like, oh my God. Well, I would have stepped in, I think,
to try to calm somebody down, had it escalated a bit more, but I had my phone going,
and Eddie's like, dude, you're going to get us busted. You're going to stop recording her like that.
So I know if this would have happened down in that area that I'd have been recording it.
But, you know, we should all take a breath when we get upset, especially at a situation that isn't in her control.
And you know what?
It wasn't in the people's control they were even fighting about.
And then she gets arrested.
Amy, your thoughts.
Well, yeah, I agree with you.
And I heard someone say this the other day.
And it's so true.
If someone is that hysterical, it's normally historical.
Sue.
Imagine that's your wife.
And you're with her and she's doing that.
You're one of two ways.
You're either like, yeah, you tell them.
You get them, babe, or you're like in the car already.
But here you go.
That's my round of, what's wrong with people?
What's wrong with people?
All right, let's check some voicemails from last night.
Here's number one.
Morning studio.
I'm calling because I am driving home from a 12-hour conference day.
I'm a kindergarten teacher.
And I want to thank you guys for keeping me awake.
on my long drive home.
And I do have a quick question for you.
You are asking everybody what their favorite segment is,
but I'm just curious what's everybody on the show's favorite segment to do.
All right, favorite segment to do.
I mean, I like the dance parties.
That's fun for me.
I like the drafts.
That's fun for me.
You guys, Amy?
Games are fun for me, like when they're like, oh, they're, if I guess if I win.
Yeah.
I was going to say, I love easy trivia when I'm winning, but it's brutal when I'm not.
So I like the competitions.
And even though I hate the wheel, it's also really fun if it doesn't land on you.
That's true, too.
When it doesn't land on you, the wheel's awesome.
Yes.
Eddie?
Man, I love easy trivia because I always win.
I love easy trivia.
It's so much fun.
We like game, which is why I play a lot of games on this show.
But thank you for that and thank you for listening.
All right, what's next?
Hey, guys, just wondering.
I love the show.
and it was just wondering if you still had the theme song contest going on
because I thought I might make one, but I was wondering if it was too late.
Thanks, guys. Bye.
It is not too late.
You have a few days left, so make that theme song and send it in.
We're looking for a theme song to the morning show.
All right, here's one more.
I have a morning corny for you.
What happens when a puppy stays outside for too long in the cold?
It turns into a pupsicle.
See you later, Bobby, Boney.
All right.
See you later, Oliver.
Here's Amy's pile of stories.
So Girl Scout cookie season has arrived, but parents and troop leaders, they say that little
scouts that are selling the cookies are getting harassed on the job.
Like scouts as young as five years old are reportedly being lectured over the high price
of cookies, the fact that palm oil is being used as an ingredient, and that they're selling
these unhealthy treats.
Like, apparently one nine and two-year-old girl were outside selling cookies, and there's a
story out about how this woman walked by.
and just yelled at them and was like, hey, cookies make you fat.
And I couldn't believe these girls were like selling these snacks to people that are quote unquote bad.
And I'm just like, what?
If you don't want the cookies, just keep walking.
And maybe you do need to give yourself a Girl Scout cookie to make yourself happy or something.
The Girl Scouts don't know what's inside the cookie.
They don't know about palm oil.
You know, if you're five years old, you don't know about inflation.
Like, if you don't want the cookies, just move past the cookie.
Do they go to the grocery store and yell at the people selling the cookies?
Or yell to people working in the grocery store?
I can't believe you have cookies.
Don't you know?
I mean, yeah, she should probably just keep moving there.
Yeah.
So a woman in Maryland was plunging her toilet and she pulled out something that was lodged in the pipes.
It was her old iPhone, which she'd lost nearly 10 years ago.
Apparently it's been in there ever since.
And, you know, she wondered about this weird banging sound every time she flushed.
I guess it was like, you know, it would knock it.
back and forth, but yeah, there it is her iPhone. Which, has anybody ever dropped their iPhone in the
toilet? Yeah. No. No? No? Okay. I mean, I've just, I go right back in and luckily the last time
I did it, it was when the iPhones officially became waterproof and I was good to go. I guess I'm surprised
that after 10 years of banging she didn't call a plumber once, or like have a friend who's a
plumber once to go, hey, what's going on with this toilet here? But yeah, and then if it's in
condition, she could have sold up like $25,000 because that's always the story.
Yeah.
Like video game, you know, VCR tape, iPhone, it's over $25,000.
Yeah, I think the night she lost it, she'd definitely been drinking, so I don't think
she knew that that's how it had, you know, disappeared.
So Tim McGrath is on 1883, and the finale has happened.
So by the way, that's, it's wrapped.
And if you haven't watched it yet, it's all available up on Paramount Plus, and I think
it's so good.
but Tim McGrawled worked with an amazing actor, Sam Elliott,
and here's what he had to say about working with him.
One particular day I told Sam, I said, you know,
thanks for doing this and being a part of this.
And I just want to let you know that I've learned so much from watching you.
And he just looked at me and says, oh, yeah, he says, well, I hadn't learned a fucking thing from you.
So thanks, Sam.
Enjoyed it.
That's funny.
I'm Amy. That's my pile.
That was Amy's pile of stories.
It's time for the good news.
With Amy.
So this guy Michael and his wife Maria, they were at the lobster house restaurant celebrating 34 years of being together and being at that restaurant.
They go every single year to celebrate.
Wow.
And he has a standard order, a dozen clams on the half shell.
Well, this time around, he got a little surprise when he bid into one.
It was a large pearl.
And the people at the restaurant said they have never seen.
had anything like that happen, it was like 8 by or 8.8 millimeters in diameter, so it could possibly
be worth thousands of dollars, but they're not interested in selling it because they say it's a
beautiful remembrance of that special day. Shoot, out of got me a fake pearl to commemorate the
occasion and sold the pearl or whatever that was. No chance I would be keeping that. But also a
clam. Like, I eat oysters, but I don't, have I ever had a clam?
Do you guys eat clams?
No.
They must do that in like some other part of the country because I've never had that.
This is Kate May.
I guess I never crave a clam.
I don't think I've had clancharder, but I don't know that I've ever had like a fresh clam.
But that is a great story.
That's what it's all about.
That was Tell Me Something Good.
All right.
