Did you promise Ray and Abby a birthday present and then not give him a birthday present?
That's a weird way to put it.
That's what I was told.
Yeah.
It's really weird.
I said, hey guys, I know it was your birthday, and we were gone, and I put your gifts in my car, so I'd have them ready.
And then my car had to go into the dealership, and I still don't have it back.
I'm still in a loner.
So I've said to them, like, hey, I feel terrible.
Like, I have y'all's gifts, but I just don't have my car back.
But as soon as I do, I'm going to bring those gifts.
So it wasn't like, hey, guys, I'm promising you.
a gift but I don't have it yet. No, I was
explaining that I had their gifts
and I felt bad that they were just stuck in my car.
Like I was trying to be prepared
and then that backfired on me.
That's a really good excuse.
But it's not.
But if you want to make an
excuse, that's a good one to Bayouye time.
Well, I don't need to make
an excuse at all. I had
their gifts in advance.
Well, it doesn't matter who brought it up.
I didn't know anything about this. I can guarantee you
Ray probably did. You don't think Abby did?
Yeah, not me.
Not me.
Abby's terrified to me.
Ray, that's desperate day.
Desperate day for prep, probably.
Definitely not.
I was interested in the present.
And then I thought, this is perfect.
It goes along with Amy's personality, whimsy, forgetting stuff, flippy-dippy.
And I thought, I wonder how long we can go with these presents, not getting to me and Abby.
I know.
Trust me.
I wish I had my car back.
The fact that I don't and that they weren't going to give me a loner to begin with is hilarious.
Because I would have been without a car.
But the gifts are in your car.
So can we just go to the dealership?
Yeah.
And get the gifts?
Yes.
Yes.
I hope they don't melt.
It's not going to melt.
Were they chocolate?
No.
No, they're not.
No, I even told Ray, it's almost like Ray didn't believe me.
I did get a hint of him being like, okay.
And I'm like, no, ask your wife.
I touched Bates with her weeks ago to get an idea of what he would want.
And I ordered exactly what she told me.
Well, that will be thoughtful of you in the future whenever you get my car back.
Hey, Ray,
Yo.
Same.
I was going to get you a gift,
but the plane never landed.
Yeah.
So when the plane lands.
No, I don't know.
I don't even know what happened.
Oh,
it just disappeared.
Yeah.
Let's just see what happens.
When it lands.
Yeah.
Remember when Scoba got me a Christmas gift and it was on a boat in the ocean for three months?
Yeah.
Wasn't that your microphone?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I remember that.
Worth the weight, though, right?
Yeah.
It's excellent.
It actually is.
It's excellent.
Okay.
Amy, you're up.
Okay.
So y'all are probably following this more than I,
but I did a deep dive on Holly Roe
because I really didn't know much about her
until this latest controversy.
And I saw that happening because I had...
Explain the controversy.
So UT won, Texas, University of Texas,
won out of nowhere after we thought they were losing.
And then Holly goes up to interview the head coach.
What's his name?
Steve Sarkeesian.
Steve Sarkeesian.
After the game.
After the game.
And I'm sure he was just like hyped up.
I don't really know what it was.
but he said something real quick into the mic and then just walked away.
And then she was like, well, dang, wait, that, she was frustrated,
so she sort of rolled her eyes and walked off.
Well, then an AI video was made of him now, what they turned into slapping her,
which wasn't funny, but then Eli Manning, I mean, not Eli,
Arch Manning, who's the quarterback for the University of Texas, was doing a press conference.
and it got brought up.
And then he's like, oh, yeah, have y'all seen the AI video?
And he was laughing at it.
And that was unfortunate because, yeah, I mean, he's young.
He's a kid.
He's going to make stupid mistakes.
He did own it, though.
And he said, you know, he did a whole post.
You know, that he has some growth to do.
He shouldn't have laughed at that, blah, blah, blah.
I'm paraphrasing.
But then I saw her post like, hey, thank you for this arch.
like I accept your apology and I appreciate our conversation, which I will keep private.
So they clearly talked, which I think is great.
And she showed him grace.
And he was thankful for that.
A lot of other people online are not showing him that grace at all.
And I just did a deep dive on her, though.
And I didn't realize like how her career is crazy.
Like she's very dedicated to what she does.
And she's been involved for so long and does a lot of good out there.
I just didn't know much about her.
And I just thought, well, hopefully this will bring light to her work and what she does and how awesome she is.
And I see a lot of other people having her back.
But I just didn't know y'all's thoughts.
We hadn't talked about it.
I think even if the AI would have been Holly Roe punching Steve's Archesian in the balls, he would have thought that was funny.
I think he was laughing at the AI more than domestic violence.
Of course.
Yeah.
But I don't think people have the understanding of the nuance.
No, and I think like coming off, I mean, it just seems like anything that happens online like that lately.
It's like there's this major backlash of like when is this going to stop being funny?
Yes.
This is just me watching the video.
I think had it just been an AI of, again, her punching them in the balls, taking them and eating them, that would have also been funny because it's anything crazy with AI that happens.
I think was what he would have thought was funny.
I definitely don't think he thinks that hitting a woman is funny.
But the temperature of everything, and by the way, you should never hit a woman.
I think everybody, well, most people feel that way.
But I think it was, and good for him for going, yep.
He owned it.
Shouldn't have done it.
But I don't, my personal opinion is I don't think it was the fact that he was slapping her that he thought was funny.
I think it was just AI did something ridiculous.
Because it does look so ridiculous.
It's so fake.
But yeah.
So did you see the newest one?
It's AI.
Yeah, it's AI.
It's like, guys, oh, sorry, that last one was wrong.
And it shows him and Holly Roel started kissing it.
Even then, if he would have seen that, I think he could have even said that was funny.
I think it's just the absurdity of what AI is able to create in situations.
Well, someone's prompting AI to create.
create that, right?
Of course.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, but someone's typing in.
I want you to slap her or I want you to make out with her.
Yeah.
Anyway, I didn't feel bad for her though.
It's like, she's trying to get an interview.
Oh, you mean at the game?
At the game, like when it happened.
Yeah, he was like not doing it.
He was not having it.
And then that the camera caught her rolling her eyes.
I was like, oh, ouch, that hurts.
Well, he does owe that interview, that coach does.
He owes that interview.
Why didn't, why would a coach just do that?
Well, there was also supposedly some technical issues earlier.
Yeah.
So it doesn't matter.
But, you know, it happened and hopefully everybody gets out with no real trouble
because I don't believe anybody had anything purposefully.
Ill intent, yeah.
Yeah.
I don't even believe he, I don't even believe he was laughing at the fact that a woman got slapped.
No, no, not at all.
I believe he was just laughing at AI doing something absurd.
And that was it.
it.
Because don't most AI videos just look absurd so they're funny?
It makes it funny?
No, but that one was absurd.
And look, I wouldn't have made one of a dude slapping it woman.
So, like, I wouldn't have made that because I wouldn't have thought that was funny.
But when I saw it initially and I saw the trouble he was getting into, I was like, man,
this is kind of unfortunate for everybody because I don't think he thinks hitting a woman's funny.
In any way, I think he just saw AI and whatever the case is.
And then he brought it up thinking there's nothing about, nothing to it.
But yeah, you should never hit a woman, no doubt about it.
And I think he learned a lesson.
And I, yeah.
And to your point with the Holly Row thing is like shining a light on her,
she really is respected.
Like she's awesome at what she does.
Everything, every sport.
I know that's what I, when I did a deep dive on her,
I was like, wow, she showed up.
I didn't, I recognized her, obviously,
from just her familiarity over the years.
But I just had no idea.
how much she shows up at and how through cancer she was showing up.
If she had stage four cancer.
Very dedicated to her craft.
No way.
Yeah.
And so she's on all sports, men and women, but she owns women's sports.
Yeah.
And I know that from softball because I watch a lot of softball.
Yeah.
A big softball guy.
She's a big volleyball, softball.
She has like a foundation that she formed.
Like she just seems like a really, you know, cool person.
So anyway.
And my statement is not a defense of anything.
It's just that I don't think he was laughing at a woman getting slapped.
I think he was laughing at the absurdity of AI in that really ill-created video.
Do you agree with that?
Yeah, I mean, I think he's just, yes, a guy, I mean, I think with a little more maturity,
he might be like, oh, press conference probably isn't the place to be like,
have you guys seen this?
Ha, ha, ha.
Yeah, he'll learn that.
And, yeah, I think he just learned that lesson this week.
But I think it had been the opposite, had she reached down and,
like punched him in the nuts. He'd also been like, have you seen that video?
That's funny too. I know. Yeah. I, I, yes, I agree. Okay. Lunchbox.
Yeah, I told you guys about the people going to casinos getting drugged. Well, now we're down in
Florida guys and a woman has been busted. Uh, she's going to casinos meeting dudes and then drugging them
and stealing their expensive watches. And the latest victim, $100,000 Rolex.
The fact that you would hire a prostitute or just take
someone back to your room at a casino and then leave your valuables vulnerable?
Well, this one is she's not a, he thought she was just giving her a number.
And so he texted and say, hey, you should come back to my place.
So he sent an Uber for her once she left and she came over in the Uber and they had some drinks.
And then he went to his room and he said he felt sleepy.
And last thing he remembers is falling on the bed.
and then she came and unclapsed his watch off his wrist and she left.
So she wasn't a prostitute?
No.
She was just a chick that.
Just a criminal.
Yeah, a criminal that would flirt with guys.
And then I guess she goes and looks for people with expensive watches.
And then she tries to move in on them.
Did you guys get the link to the documentary yesterday?
Yes, got the link.
I wouldn't have expected you to watch it yet.
But you have it if you want to watch it.
We have the link.
Can't wait.
I got a couple stories that somewhat relate to that.
There's a guy, speaking to casinos, he's facing charges after giving a tip in an inappropriate way, put it in the cocktail waitresses' boobs.
Can't do that.
Oh, yeah, that's the frowned upon.
Now that's the frowned upon.
It's illegal, it's illegal, yeah.
It's illegal?
It's illegal?
Well, he's facing charges.
I mean.
Lunchbox, there's no I mean.
Hold on.
There's no I mean.
He didn't touch her.
He just stuck the money there.
Let me read you the story.
I'm just asking.
Well, let me read the story before you ask.
While visiting Treasure Island Resort and Casino,
been there.
This guy, Jeffrey,
he thought it was okay to allegedly slip a dollar bill
between the boobs of the woman serving up complimentary drinks.
He allegedly followed up by saying,
did you like that?
Clearly, she didn't.
And now he's facing criminal sexual and misconduct
and disorderly conduct charges from newsbreak.
You can't do that.
No, no, I'm saying, I understand you can't do it.
I just didn't know that you would get arrested for,
like you could say no and maybe removing him for the casino.
I didn't realize.
He didn't ask him.
I do it, he just did it. He didn't say, do you mind if I take this dollar bill and put it in your
bosom? And if they say yes, you can do that, right? That would be a little. If they say yes, she's
probably going to take your watch later, but yes, but that wasn't. He just was at the wrong
place. No, no, no, no, no, no. No, you should have been down the street a little bit. He just shouldn't.
Oh, you made at the strip closet. Yes. There you can do that. Yeah. With dollars, you can do
whatever you want. You can do what I want. Like dollars, you can put them. But you can't, I don't
I'd never been.
Yeah.
Yeah.
A long time ago.
I'm uneducated in that.
Oh, dude.
It is like, I mean, dollar bills everywhere and they don't care.
They just are happy you're giving them dollar bills.
Now, here's another way, kind of.
A pharmacy tech has been accused of smuggling drugs into a prison in her braw.
According to reports, 61-year-old Tanya started up a flirtatious online relationship with a prisoner.
she was subjected to a strip search after she was observed retrieving a small package from a garbage bin outside the prison.
Once discovered, the package was open and was found to contain two ounces of high purity cocaine and 77 grams of what's known as spice paste, a lab made chemical that mimics cannabis and tobacco.
Her brawl load of fun has a street value of $27,000.
Dang.
So she was a pharmacist for the prison?
Sounds like it.
It says smuggled him into the prison, so no.
Why was she digging through the trash?
Maybe she's dropping them off in the trash for someone else to get them.
How do these relationships start?
Like, shouldn't there just be a rule, Amy, like if you're dating, you're talking to a guy and, oh, you're in prison?
Okay, this won't work.
Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to be attracted to that, but some women are.
I mean, there's some women that have never met the dudes and they just start becoming pin pals once they see them on the news and they marry them.
and they are serving life sentences.
Explain that to me.
They're lonely and getting attention,
and that's the only way they're getting it,
so they'll take that and they'll bind themselves to that
because it's what they have.
But they're prisoners, like no family members being like,
you shouldn't do this.
Maybe they don't know.
But I'm telling you why they do it is because that's the most
and the best they can get.
Also, okay.
Are they helpers?
But do men do this to women prisoners?
Go pick up trash.
Because I've never heard of it with men doing it to women prisoners.
It's only women falling in love with men prisoners.
Oh, I'm sure it goes the other way.
Well, and I don't know the answer to that, but just that documentary that I was talking about yesterday that I seen the link to,
men don't admit it.
Oh.
Because they're embarrassed.
Oh, super scammy.
Yeah, when men get scammed by, and this is not exactly the same, but when they get scammed by people acting like celebrities or hot chicks, and most of these hot chicks, and not even celebrities,
when they give them money and fall for it, they never admitted, never becomes a story because of shame.
more times, and not all women admit it, but more women do so we know about it more and they come
forward. That's why really when the news comes out of some fake, quote, celebrity that's taking
money from someone, it's always a woman. It's not because it's only happening to women. It's
because when it happens to men, I bet you it happens to men so much easier because you don't have to be
a celebrity. You just got to be hot, fake hot. And you're probably right, because if one of my boys
got scammed by a hunch, you got, oh my God, every joke would be about that. Every joke.
Yeah. Eddie.
Yeah. You guys know Longhorn Steakhouse?
Familiar. Ben, yeah.
So this is weird. This guy who works there, he saw roaches there. He saw how they were treating the food in the kitchen.
And he told the higher-ups about it. And they're like, okay, cool, we'll do something about it.
He waited a few months and nothing was ever done about it. So he recorded a video and posted it.
He still works there. And he's like, look, guys, this is the kitchen at my restaurant that I work at.
Roaches everywhere. There was a steak just sitting on the shelf next to containers.
Who knows what they were going to do with that steak? He's just showing food on the floor,
like nasty stuff. And then the company's like, yeah, we'll work on that. But he's still employed there.
Yeah, I probably can't fire him. Now after that, you can't fire him?
Yeah. And also, I don't know this story, but it's probably not the company's fault.
It is probably, I don't know what their model is of franchising.
Sure.
The manager.
If it's a franchise, it's the owner of that restaurant that is only buying from the main company and abiding by their rules.
It's not the company's fault that it's happening in this one location because they don't send people down from corporate.
Like, Walmarts are not franchised.
Those are all owned by Walmart.
Those are all O and O.
But McDonald's franchises.
Yeah.
Not owned by McDonald's corporation, but by individual people that buy.
McDonald's franchise. I believe that's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you can't really fire the guy because
then he could sue. Like, you're fired me because I was showing. That's crazy, though, because
like this, how does this end well for him? Like, he's got to work there. And I'm sure everyone
there is just like, dude, what are you doing? Like, why are you exposing everything like that?
I bet the other workers don't really care. I bet the manager and the owner does. Yeah.
And they'll probably pay for them and get rid of them and then he can sue. And then I saw the video
and I'm just like, I kind of assume that kitchens are kind of like that because they should assume
that. Not that gross. Not that gross. Not that gross. I saw, but yeah, I've worked in restaurants
and it's moist back there. It's wet and it's warm, so there are bugs and it's humans. You don't want to
see a kitchen. When there's so much food, there are going to be bugs attracted to the food.
And not just food, but again, it's warm and it's wet back there.
That's a bad combo. It's a bad combo for sure.
Scammers are using Dolly Parton's deaths to make money so people are donating to the imagination
library, but scammers have now been sending emails, texts, and posting on social media
with information that appears to be from Dollywood, from the imaginary library foundation.
And man, they're killing it.
They're making so much money.
Oh, my gosh.
That's from the Saturday evening post.
There's, uh, so an AI account that I saw a girl, she was on my podcast several years back
and I follow her and she does recipes and different things.
And she posted a warning about an AI account that is about to hit a million followers.
it's they're posing as some 70 year old woman
it looks real
but is it a scam it is not it's it's AI
but they're she showed one of her recipe videos
and the AI account
copied her video verbatim
like she she's like turn the sound on
you'll hear me talking and then the AI
is a woman talking the old woman
but it's like step by step her recipe
and word for word how she even says it
in her video. And like this girl herself, she has millions of followers, but the AI's got like,
you know, 900,000 or something. So it's creeping. It's getting up there. Like it's tricking a lot of
people. And the AI account just put out a digital downloadable cookbook full of all these
recipes that it's stealing from other creators. But the scary thing is, yeah, you might get
those recipes. Okay, that's fine. But now you're giving your credit card information to buy
this e-book to these scammers, like to this AI account.
But are they scamming?
Well, because it doesn't feel like a scam.
They're, they're plagiarizing and they're, yes.
I think recipes are interesting because that's not really intellectual property.
I understand that.
I get that.
So you can still any recipe.
Now, the voice thing is weird, but if they're not taking money for something that they're
not giving.
Right, you're getting something in return.
I do understand that.
It doesn't feel like a scam.
But can they have some, like,
Do you feel weirder giving your money to this AI account that's fake?
Like are they going to be able to do something with all your information?
I would think not.
If they've built up such a profile of $900,000, I'm going to think that they're going to do their job.
But also you can take somebody's videos and even stitch them and use their face and their voice in your video.
Right?
I know.
It's pretty disheartening.
Yeah.
I can agree with that.
Just legally, I'm thinking.
If I wanted to take your video, if you were saying something,
I could easily take it and put it on my feed and I would not get in trouble.
I could just put it up.
I could stitch it.
I could put it on my story.
It doesn't matter.
I could do puppets to your voice.
Doesn't matter.
Right?
And then if it has 900,000 followers, I'm not saying it's not weird.
Well, the thing is people are following it thinking that it's real.
Didn't it used to have to disclose?
She said at one point the account did say it was AI,
but now that's been removed.
And so I don't know if something changed
And you don't have to disclose that anymore
I understand why it feels weird and wrong
And I would
It'd feel odd if someone was doing that to me
And I'd try to shut it down
Because if they were taking my voice
I would click on report report
But if it was a good recipe
I mean honestly
I don't feel like that's a scam
As far as the recipe book
Because they probably are making a book
And making good money off of it
Yeah
And then anyone you give
give, like say you buy from any company, any restaurant, any store, whatever, they have all your
financials, like...
Well, not your financials, but like your email, your name.
But can they steal your credit card information?
If they have it, they're using it to send to you whatever it is that you bought, but the good
thing about a credit card is as soon as you see something fishy, you can shut it down.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, they can stop it.
So it's not like you sent them $10,000 because it's Tom Cruise, who's told you he's in love
with you.
Right, right, right.
The scam.
Yeah, that's...
Yeah, it's...
Definitely gray.
It's a gray area.
It doesn't feel good,
but I can't find anything
just from what you're telling me
that it's illegal.
What do you think?
Instagram should shut it down.
Instagram doesn't want to shut down accounts
that I have 900,000 followers and engagement.
And they kind of don't care.
It's not their job to...
They're not patrolling to find people.
But it is late.
It's not a real...
So it's like this person that's posing
that they're 70 years old
and they have this healthy lifestyle.
But you could create a cartoon.
I hear you.
I hear you.
I hear you.
I hear you.
I hear you.
thinking like, oh, if I eat and do what this person
says, like, I'll be 70 and feel as amazing
as she does and look as good as she does, but she's
not real. They're all real. It's the same with those videos
that say if you eat blueberries, sometimes a week.
And they're like, I cured cancer by whatever.
Like, it's not their job to shut it down. It's our
job to do the due diligence
to figure out if what we're
trusting and giving to is
accurate. It's like the video, you talked
about how you saw
some lady talking about smoothies and
bananas. You're not supposed to put bananas and smoothies.
You talked about it on here about. Oh, I was
saying, yeah, that's false information
you said, but... Well, what she was
saying, it just got taken out
of context. Like, yes, some
of the nutrients might be
depleted if it's mixed, but
like it doesn't mean you shouldn't put blueberries and
bananas together. Because you're still getting,
the benefit is still greater than, yeah.
Yeah. It's an odd one.
I know. I'm not trying to be the advocate for
fake AI old ladies.
But I can't really find the illegal thing
happening there. I can find the weird thing happening
Shady.
I can't find the illegal thing.
And I don't see the scam.
Vulnerable people thinking that they're going to eat like this AI person and look amazing.
But you could say that with actual humans that aren't AI that are influencers that are lying about what they're eating.
I'm eating this and look at the weight I'm lost.
And in reality, they're on a GLP 1.
Yeah, that's true.
So life's a scam.
You learn as you go.
Isn't that song?
That's a good song.
Sometimes really.
Sometimes you learn as you go.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's what's up.
Do you go to a high school football game?
Was it this weekend?
Did you go to the game?
It rained?
Yeah.
I went.
And it was so stupid because I looked at the radar before we left and I told my wife
is like, it's going to rain when we get there.
Like according to the radar, as soon as we get there, it's going to start raining.
She's like, it's okay.
The kids want to go anyway.
So we go.
We show up.
We pay $20 to get in.
My wife and I.
The kids get in free.
And so as soon as we want,
walk up to pay thunder.
Storm.
Water. And they blow the whistles.
Rain delay. Weather delay. Everybody has to evacuate the stadium.
Everyone's getting drenched. Everyone's going back to their cars.
We wait for about 20, 30 minutes.
Game on. We go back. We sit on the stands.
They play for about five minutes.
Rain delay. Weather delay.
I said, you know what? We're done. We're leaving.
Like, it's over. And I'm thinking like,
I should get a refund.
for this. But I go back to the box office.
They're shut down. Sign is like, nowhere
to be found. They're not there anymore.
I'm like, we didn't watch any football.
I need a refund. That's true.
You should have got a refund.
You want that money back from a high school?
$20. $20? For everybody
all together? A person? No, it was $10 a person.
It's $20 for me and my wife.
I hear you. But isn't it going to a high school?
Hmm? Isn't it going to a school?
Yes. It's going to the school.
Yeah, yeah. That school makes good money.
They're good.
And we're not paying for the school
We're paying to watch a football game
But do you think they
threw the board up and shut down the stand
So people wouldn't get a refund
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they're like
Oh, they're gonna want refunds
Put the board up
They're probably inside
They're just sitting on a chair
Did he get a refund?
No
Yes, I say no
What?
Why?
He didn't get to watch what he paid for
I watched 10 minutes of a football game
Did they ever play it later that night?
Yeah, they finished like at midnight
You could have stayed
The game
Was still there for you
Had you wanted to be there for the game
Yes, that sucks
but the game was still there for you.
That was terrible.
And that didn't feel weird.
Hey, can I get a refund for high school game?
My wife was like, no refund.
But I'm like, no, we got to get a refund.
Like, this is ridiculous.
I can't believe you guys agree with them.
I'm with you.
I think next time you go to a game, be like,
actually, I paid on this date.
But they finished the game.
And be like, I was not able to stay
because of the thunder and lightning
and they'll let you in free.
It's like a concert.
If it goes on way later,
but you leave because of the weather,
you don't get a refund.
They still had the concert.
They finish it later.
What about the evacuing
evacuated in the stadium. Like, that's crazy. Where do we go? Cars? What have I walked there?
Oh my, my, that's on you. Yeah. Check the weather before you go. No, I did. I told my wife,
let's not go. And that's on your wife. Pumpkin spice season is started.
Gross. Does it at all feel like the early part of Christmas? Oh, what? I haven't even thought
about Christmas yet. No way, man. No, I just needed to get to fall. I can't even go on an evening
walk without sweating. Like, let's just get to fall. We saw some Christmas
stuff out this week.
On a house?
No.
Oh, yeah.
No.
It's too early.
We haven't even gotten to Halloween.
Halloween, man.
And then Thanksgiving and then Christmas.
Thanksgiving gets overshadowed.
Everybody forgets about Thanksgiving and you guys start decorating for Christmas
so soon and they forget all about Thanksgiving.
But what are you decorating for Thanksgiving?
Like a pumpkin and some brown leaves?
We have 500 plastic turkeys that we put up all on the outside of our house.
What's that thing?
What's the cornucopia?
Yeah, the cornucopia.
This reminds me of our cruise
So this lady got a drink package
And she went on this cruise
And she enjoyed 15 shots of Patron
Repasado
Ooh good tequila
She was so drunk
That the ship's staff had to take her back to her room
And lock her inside
They removed the handle from the access door to the balcony
So she couldn't even get out on the balcony
Smart
Wow
And so I believe she lost her drink
drink package.
That's valid.
But I do think we're giving away drink packages if you get on our cruise until October at
some point, right, scuba?
Yeah, I'm trying to find this.
She thinks October 14th and it's used promo code Bobby.
Yeah, if you go to top shelfcountrycruise.com, our cruise in March.
But be responsible.
If you win the drink package.
You don't win, you get it.
Or if you get it, just be chill.
Yeah, don't be this lady.
Because I guarantee you this lady woke up and had no idea what happened last night.
I don't know, 15 shots.
Don't you, like seven, even if you black out?
Don't you remember the first six or seven?
You feel like it's getting a little crazy, but you don't know that they locked you in your room.
Like, you have no idea they did all that.
Yeah, you get a drink package with your reservation.
If you put in the promo code Bobby.
So go to top shelf country crews.com.
October 15th is the deadline.
Deadlines 15th?
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Thousands of people in Michigan got driver's license,
and there was a random photo of a stranger on 8,000 driver's licenses.
hilarious.
How did that happen?
They said it was a mistake, obviously,
and new IDs are being sent out.
That's kind of funny.
Yeah, if you're that person, that'd be awesome.
Michigan's having a rough run of it.
Oh, because they had the diarrhea.
They were right in the middle.
The epicenter of the diarrhea.
And now 8,000 people have driver's licenses
with somebody else's face on it.
Also, big news, if you guys didn't check out Mike's podcast,
movie Mike's movie podcast, he had Taylor Swift on.
Amazing.
So cool.
How'd that go?
It was awesome.
Talking Toy Story 5.
Toy Story 5, Taylor Swift was on.
It's legit.
Be sure to check it out.
Did people believe that?
Yeah.
They did.
Yeah.
Are you seeing it?
Yeah, people were upset.
They were.
They're upset at you?
Yeah.
But you had her on.
I did.
I didn't lie.
He didn't lie.
Everybody lied first.
And we just saw the lie and said, because he did have her on.
If you missed the show from maybe two weeks ago,
there were a lot of weekend shows claiming they had Taylor Swift on leading up to it.
And they didn't.
It was.
some stuff that she recorded, and they would just ask it a fake question, and they'd play the
clip of her. But Mike had those same clips, and I said, just say, yeah, have Taylor Swift on your
podcast, and that's what he just asked questions about Toy Story 5 and played those clips.
Yeah, wrote my own question, so yeah.
So yeah, Taylor Swift on.
You had her on?
Did you see, have you looked at numbers yet?
No, not yet.
Why are people mad?
Is it people that weren't listening anyway?
This isn't a real interview.
This is not Taylor Swift.
She didn't come on your podcast, all that stuff.
But it really was Taylor.
It was, yeah.
Yeah.
So she was really on there.
Yeah. She really was.
You had her on.
Movie Mike's movie podcast, if you want to hear his semi-exclusive interview with Taylor Swift talking about Toy Story 5.
Okay, we're going to take a break.
Behind every night spent making the kids' lunches, there's a lot of suspense.
Will they finally eat the veggies?
Will the pasto survive the first bite?
Will the lunchbox come home empty, half full, or come home at all?
And will you finish episode 8 before you're done slicing the cucumbers?

Have you guys heard of faux journaling?
Yeah, it's reading.
It's called reading.
So we don't like to use that word anymore.
Okay.

Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class?
No!
I've been dying too.
I'm so sorry.
I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14.
That's crazy.
I went to the Wendland Bookstore yesterday

No way.

We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust.
There's belonging. You could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted.

Self Care September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means.
Yes, self-care can be a long walk.
It can be in everything shower.
It can be putting your phone on Do Not Disturb.
But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff.
And understanding your patterns, your boundaries,
finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again.
I'm Gemma Spegg, the host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s, from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are.
Unlike the quarter life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse, the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something.
When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you.
So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself.
Get to know yourself as well.

Tour announcements happen all the time, but that Kenny Chesney tour that he announced?
Looks awesome.
Even I was shocked by that.
I know.
So Chesney announces a massive stadium tour, which he plays stadiums.
He's one of the few artists that can.
There's like five.
And okay, cool.
But it's him.
and then his main support
is Eric Church.
Which is his own artist
The headlines
And then before Eric Church is Cheryl Crow
Crazy
What is happening
That's an amazing show
It's almost like a music festival
Yeah
Yeah
I bet you
Church
Church
Meaning it's not an opener
So there are terms
So like the opener
Would be the first
They call like the baby
And then there's main support
after the opener.
So Cheryl Crow,
then Eric Church,
and then Chesney.
I bet you Eric Church's
church makes a million bucks
a show
without having to bring his own
like his own overhead,
his own lights,
his own, so what happens is
he gets to show up.
And a big part about touring is
when you see these numbers
where these artists are making
60 million a year in touring,
38 of it are going into all the trucks
and all the lights
and all the fees and the rentals.
But if you're Eric Church,
And he's only going to do that for probably three people that he respects, because Eric Church does not need anybody to do anything.
I bet you he makes a million bucks a show with very little overhead.
And then, like, how long does he play roughly?
Full set, hour.
He'll play an hour.
Oh, he'll play an hour.
That's amazing.
That's a great tour.
And I'm jaded.
Nothing matters to me because I've seen it all.
That's a great tour.
Did you watch any Dancing with the Stars last night?
Did not.
They did only dudes.
So they have so many people.
They did dudes last night.
They're doing the women tonight.
And so there was a voting glitch in the show.
So they had to go, we're not, can't use the internet.
Well, that, huh?
How does that happen?
I don't know, I don't know what happened with a glitch.
I think, you know how AI's taking us all down.
I think they started with dancing with star already.
Oh, no.
That was the first.
That's the beta.
Yeah, yeah.
They're like, let's test.
So I watched all of them.
My pre-show prediction without seeing anything at all was Jackson Olson, the Savannah
banana.
because I think Emma is the most beloved pro dancer.
They've given her funny people for a while,
not given her a real chance.
He's athletic, and he can dance a little bit.
And last night, listen, not the best dancer at all,
but mid, and I think growth is a big part of it.
And so he's okay.
He didn't get kicked off.
Like I have who got kicked off,
and it's a live show.
So it's almost, I shouldn't have to not say,
but I know there are probably some listeners
who don't want to hear.
Oh, spoiler.
With the glitch, though, how do they?
So they just...
You still, phones?
Texts.
Okay.
Yeah, it was just texting, right?
So just part of the voting wasn't available.
Yeah.
Can we do spoiler alert?
Because I kind of want to know who got kicked off.
And I don't care.
Yeah.
Yeah, spoiler alert in 10 seconds.
Problem is I don't want people turning us off.
Okay, no, no, no.
I don't care.
Most people don't care.
But I do like the Savannah Bananas guy.
I like them too.
Where did you put Julia Stiles in this?
Well, she doesn't dance until tonight.
Right, but where do you put her?
her in the overall.
And there's somebody who could make the semis,
but probably not the finals.
I did a whole thing on my YouTube
where I think Taylor Hansen
will do pretty good.
He was pretty good last night.
But you really can't look at night one
and think that that's the future
because everybody is so nervous.
I don't remember my first dance.
I was so nervous.
I remember hearing,
it's the click they play inside the room
that you hear on TV that tells you when to go.
And I blacked out until I was.
halfway through the dance and I was like oh my god my feet are going where am I
I I won't say who got kicked off yet maybe in the podcast after the show we'll talk
about it but the guy the harry shum guy from Glee he's a ringer for sure a ringer but since
he's not the biggest ringer nobody really talks about him being a ringer he was a professional
dancer and he was really good but you know what he wasn't even as good as I thought but the reason
is it's not it's not one everybody's so nervous so yeah dance one stars we're back baby
uh Julia styles seems cool though I've been watching some of the tic talks yeah
Yeah, she seems cool.
I've kind of rooting for her a little bit.
And she didn't actually go to Juilliard and people were going, she went to Juilliard,
that's not fair.
That's a movie.
That's not real.
That's a movie.
I thought it's real.
I fell for that too because I'm like, she's going to win it.
She went to that school or whatever and I'm like, oh, wait, wait, is that real?
No.
That's the movie where she had to learn to dance.
That's right.
And so she had like to train for the movie.
But yeah.
I think Tatiana Ali is fun too because she played Ashley Banks and Fresh Prince.
I just like the nostalgia of some of those people.
So that was Dancing with the Stars last night.
We'll talk about who got kicked off on the podcast.
And you can watch the show too, at Bobby Bone Show on YouTube.
Let's go over to Sarah, who is listening in Florida.
Sarah, you're on.
Hey, good morning.
Morning, Sarah.
I was telling about the Dancing with the Stars computer glitch,
and I know I have my theory,
and I think a lot of other people agree with me.
Taylor Hanson obviously has been around since 97
and the Hanson fans are quite feral
and it's not been the first time that we've broken a website
by voting for them.
Yeah, the Hanson fans are significant
but there's no chance a fan base is going to break
the system of Dancing with the Stars.
Something internally had to have happened.
And also there have been other artists
that have had equal or larger crazy fan bases.
And I think they're crazy.
Like pound for pound,
The Hanson fan base, very crazy in a great way.
I think Hanson's awesome.
I'm not going to say disrespected,
but I think some people just lump them in with Umba,
but they are so good.
But no, I've seen that online too,
and you know who I think started that rumor?
The Hanson fans.
Yeah.
So I completely understand.
Root for your guy, vote for him.
I like him.
I hope he does well.
He's come and played the Eddie and I's Raging Idiot show with us.
So I'm a fan, and also, you know,
they follow me on Instagram.
That's cool.
Sometimes we'll trade DMs.
So I'm rooting for them.
But no chance.
A 0% chance at any fan base broke that system.
But I like it.
That's a great rumor.
Whoever started that from the Hans and fans?
Great.
Next week they should do the Gleeks for Harry Shum.
The Gleeks broke the system.
There is a story about how tired everybody is.
And basically the CDC has a story where about 70% of adults say they are more fatigue now than they ever have been.
And I think this comes up because I think I'm more fatigued.
now than I ever have been. I used to think I was peak tired because I would just go,
go, go, go. The only time I would stop is when I physically couldn't. I'd go home for an hour,
get a little Sunday in the evening, and then start again at night. I'm so tired. I was not at my peak.
Narrator, he was not at his peak tired. As soon as I get home now, there's a baby. That'll make you
tired. Fatherhood has... It's added. And I haven't peeled back at all professionally, which I've got to
find a way to, or maybe the baby gets a little easier because it's not neat.
It's not even the baby. It's just I go and I, as soon as I get home, I try to be there for my
wife because she's been doing it. And even if I'm doing nothing, the energy is there.
It's almost like a road trip. You drive for a bunch of hours and you're sitting.
You finish and you're like, well, why am I tired? But like you've poured your brain into it.
So are you more tired than ever before right now?
No, I've been tired or.
when you're married?
Oh.
Well, some of it's circumstantial, sure.
Just like yours right now is, you know, your situation.
I think, yeah, I've had more, had sleepless nights at times.
Between parenting and my marriage.
But my kids are grown now.
Good point.
And half the time they're with their dad.
Half the time they're with their dad.
I've got one out on her own now in her own apartment.
And then my son is very, I mean, we had some.
I mean, my kids are adopted.
There were some stuff like there were some rough nights.
I feel like my most tired year probably was 2020 and not because of COVID at all, not even related.
But I was exhausted that year.
Life.
Yes.
Eddie, you have 17 kids.
How's that going?
I have four boys.
I am exhausted.
This is the most I've ever been tired for sure.
But I feel like I say that every year.
And I don't see the end of the tunnel.
You just keep getting more.
Yeah.
You're at the peak until next year we're,
peaks even higher. It's kind of crazy because I'm telling you, every day I wake up and I'm like,
I don't know if I'm going to make it through the day. That's testosterone. And they said it was testosterone,
but I mean, I really feel that and like I make it through the day somehow. So that makes yesterday
a little easier than the next day. So I feel like I'm just going to keep doing this until,
like Amy, all my kids are out of the house. Well, I mean, today you feel the best that you're
ever going to feel again. Think about it like that? Right now. Right now. I guess I am hope that you
will feel better. She is hope.
Look at her. That's hope.
When the kids are out of the house.
That's hope.
All right, back in a second.
Let's go talk to Kayla in Texas, who's on the phone right now.
Hey, Kayla, good morning.
Hi.
How are you today?
Pretty good.
What can we do for you?
I just wanted to tell you an Uber story and see if you guys would report the driver
and see if I made the right decision.
So for the context, I'm blind.
I travel with the service dog.
and I had a doctor's appointment I needed to go to.
The first two drivers canceled me after they found out I was traveling with the dog.
And the third driver who picked me up, he was having trouble finding the doctor's office.
He even called them and they gave him exact directions on how to get there and gave him
landmarks of what was around them so that he could identify like where they were.
And right after that, he started getting phone calls and he just pulled into the middle of a parking lot
and told me that he had to go and I needed to get out of the car.
And he, it wasn't where I needed to be.
And I was too nervous to argue or, you know, like make him take me to our accident.
I mean to me if I got out of the car in a very unfamiliar area in the little parking lot.
And so fortunately, I had like 10, three minutes of IRA, which is like a service for buying people
that provides like visual assistance.
They can connect to your phone and see where you are
and give you step-by-step instructions on how to get somewhere.
And they were able to help me at least get across the road.
So that was the first part.
The doctor's office was right across the street from where I was.
There was no crosswalk.
So I had to basically j-walk across this road.
And as soon as I got across my phone overheated
because it's so hot here right now,
And, you know, so I didn't have that service anymore.
And so I just told my dog to find inside because she's trained to find, like, the closest door when I tell her inside.
And I went into this first business.
And the people there, they kept telling me, oh, the doctor's office is probably next door.
And in my mind, like, we're at going to be in four different directions.
So are you able to, like, come see if you can see where it's at?
They refuse.
and so I went back outside and told my dog to find the next door.
She did, and we eventually ended up making it there.
She went to the wrong.
I went to a different business, and somebody there actually helps me find it.
But my question is, do you think that driver should be reported
and do you think I made the right decision of getting out,
or do you think I should have made them actually take me to where I needed to be?
I don't think you should put any burden of you having to make a right or wrong.
decision first of all. So there's no right or wrong decision by you there. I can't believe that
part where he just said, hey, you just get out, especially if you have a dog for a reason. The dog is
to help you navigate. You're obviously blind. I can't believe a human would do that. If we've
removed the Uber from it, that anybody would just stick somebody in an unfamiliar place.
Now, I am taking into account a little bit.
He got some phone calls.
We don't know.
It's not how he should have handled it at all.
I do wonder what is felt like, did he have an emergency?
Doesn't matter.
No.
She could have died.
I know.
I know.
I just am like trying to figure out what would make a human do that.
First, I'm going to say, yeah, I'd report that to Uber.
Yeah.
Like if they don't bring my drink, I want to report them to Uber ease.
Yeah, and this is far worse than that.
I order two drinks.
She didn't bring a single drink.
So, yes, I would report them.
I'm very sorry that happened to you.
that is wild of questions like, what is that service do you use that tells you where you can go and you can connect to it?
So it's called IRA, and so they can provide any sort of like visual assistance a blind person might need.
So either, you know, like reading directions or like they can help take pictures through your phone.
Like if you want to take a picture of your, grab your dog or something or help you set settings on like an oven or a washer.
You have to pay for that?
I typically don't just because there's another free app that provides a community-based service to, like, free volunteers.
Or they have like AI as well that can help.
But that app can't connect to your phone and actually give you directions, like if you're walking somewhere because it can't.
like IRA has the access of being able to connect to your phone in your phone's location.
Fortunately for me, like they gave me 10 free minutes every day this month.
And so otherwise I wouldn't have had it.
And I would have been just, I'd have been screwed.
How much does IRA cost?
It depends on what plan that you have.
And one of the reasons why I don't like to pay for it because I don't use it.
as much as I would need to
to make it, you know, worth it.
I think it's like $30 for like
20 minutes a month, and then that doesn't actually
roll over into the next month, which
is kind of frustrating that they can't, you know, roll over.
So it's like 30 bucks a month?
Something like that, yeah.
10 times 30 is 300 plus 60.
So if I just sent you 400 bucks to Venmo
and would it pay for that for a year, so if this happens
again, that you'd actually have
this is a tool to use.
And then even if you don't use it, you don't have to feel bad because I've paid for the year.
You didn't?
That's very sweet of me.
That's not why I called.
I know it's not why you called.
That's why I don't mind helping because I can sniff out to people that are calling for something.
I don't think you're calling for that at all.
But like my heart hurts that someone would do that, not just to you, to anybody in that
situation, because I know this is very specific to you.
The fact that also people, people, just general people, didn't just go, hey, I got you.
Let me help you.
Like that hurts my heart a little bit.
I'd like to think that if I saw someone struggling,
it could be this.
It could be just struggling in general.
I'm just surprised that nobody helped.
I'm so happy you got there.
I would report the Uber driver.
And I would like to at least arm you with that little bit of time each month
where if this does happen again, that you can use it.
And if you don't, you don't feel any guilt because it's not your money anyway.
Can I please do?
I'm asking that that would make me feel good if I could do that.
Yeah, of course. I don't have them all, but my husband does.
I'll put you on hold. I will get it and I'll cover a year and I would report the Uber driver.
Yeah. And I'm not always missed a report guy because I realize sometimes people have bad days and sometimes people mess up. I have bad days. I mess up.
But I think this is a different type of situation. Like your life was, you were vulnerable in that situation and in a bit of danger.
So, okay, Kayla, report the Uberdriver.
I'm very sorry that happened to you.
You're going to allow me to feel better if I can help you.
And I appreciate you calling, seriously.
And, man, is your dog awesome?
I think about the dog, too.
Like, is your dog awesome?
Oh, yes.
She's fantastic.
And she's really close to retirement age.
And so, you know, I felt bad having her to deal with that too
in this nasty Texas heat that we're getting at the moment.
it. I felt off for her, but she'd handle it like a champ.
I'm glad you're, okay, I would report the Uber driver. Thank you for the call.
Abby, would you put her on hold to good information? Thank you. Thank you. I'd be pissed.
That's terrible.
Like what? There's like, there's that many people that didn't, I won't say the Uber driver did her wrong.
Sure. The other people I don't think did her wrong, but they didn't do it right.
Like they couldn't stop and help until it's that way. It's that way.
Well, eventually it seems like she made it to it.
a business. If I'm at Home Depot, they take me to the screws.
They grab my elbow and walk me all the way to the screws.
Good point. Right.
I'm not blind. Yeah. I'm stupid, but I'm not blind.
Oh my, golly. Okay. If you guys want to call us, you can. 87777,
Bobby. 87777 Bobby. Hit us up back in a second.
Eddie Salsa has made it into schools. Okay. Like, what?
whole new market, guys. I'm not used to it.
Like cafeterias are serving it?
Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Teachers.
Oh. So my son came from school the other day and he said,
Dad, Dad, Dad, is my little one, my seven-year-old.
Dad, I got a hundred on my test. And I need two salsas.
I was like, what? Turns out that his teachers listen to the show and they're like,
we need to get some Eddie salsa. So they asked my son to do it.
Now, what's crazy, though, and this is not prompted at all, my son asked me for a cut.
he said dad i don't know how much you're charging but i want a cut of it okay it's like a finder's
fee so this is crazy this is opening a whole new door here do you want your kids selling anything at
school though like it could be against the rules but i i don't know if it is but to teachers
it's not even if it is they're not going to tell on themselves right especially they love the
salsa and they want more of it my wife was talking to your wife about your salsa business
really yeah what were they talking about how do you think
think your wife feels about it?
Okay.
Your wife is over at the house.
Yes.
You're doing their thing where they like, I don't know, talk.
Well, my wife, my wife has told me that she loves that I'm doing this and she knows how
passionate I am of doing the salsa.
So she's very happy for me.
What does she tell your wife?
No, no, I'm just asking what you think.
Has there, are there any vibes of annoyance when you have to do it like all day on a
Sunday?
Wait, do you know something too, Amy?
No, I'm just thinking how I would feel.
Like maybe sometimes when I'm like, hey, I need everyone out of the kids.
because it's salsa Sunday?
I don't know anything.
Well, what's your...
No, no, I'm asking, what do you think she said?
What I said, she's very proud of me,
and she loves that I found my passion in making salsa.
That's true.
That's what she said.
Really?
Yeah.
I thought she was complaining.
No, she wasn't.
She was super happy about it.
Yeah.
And that you're really good at it.
Did you know what's happening, though?
This is kind of crazy.
I don't want to cook anymore.
Like, my love for cooking.
has kind of slowed down.
Like, you know my days are what Monday, Wednesdays and Saturdays?
To your household cook.
Yes.
And now I'm just like, can we just order food?
I'm like.
Oh, because you're in the kitchen so much with salsa.
It's work.
You know, it's become work now.
Are you thinking of scaling this thing at all?
Or is this just going to be a constant grind?
What does scaling mean?
Are you thinking about making this bigger?
Oh, yeah.
No, no, no.
Not, oh, yeah.
That's not, you're not the end of your answer like that.
What do you mean?
Okay. Then how are you making it bigger?
Well, right now I'm just trying to survive.
No, no, no. You just said, oh, yeah. That means, oh, yeah, you got a plan.
Go ahead.
Like, I have visions of warehouses.
Okay, that's a vision. Machinery.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I have visions of wings come out of butt and me flying to my next stop.
That didn't happen. That's not the same.
You think warehouses and machinery is going to happen out of nowhere?
No, no, no, I have to do it.
But how do you get to the next level?
So all the money that I'm making on salsa, I haven't spent a single thing other than just going back in New
ingredients. And I bought myself a new blender, high-tech blender. So baby steps like that, everything
that I'm making from the salsa, I'm putting it back into the business. If you want to scale it,
though, baby steps are not going to allow scale. Oh, I need investors. Or a loan. Like, you need
capital. But you need a plan. Okay, so I told you guys that I was starting a little retirement.
I've done kind of like some W-2. Can I pull my retirement now and just put it all in this?
No.
Because that's the worst.
That's the worst.
It's betting on yourself.
That's what's not where I wanted this to go.
No.
No.
You just started it.
What do you mean?
You didn't find it.
Can I pool my W2 already?
No, no, it's not called a W2.
That's what you get.
That's what you get for your taxes.
What's it called?
401K.
Yeah.
That's it.
Yeah, but you just set that up.
I know.
The answer is no.
No.
You need to let it go year after year.
You need to keep contributing.
Because I've always heard like, you know, take a loan.
But what do you think the next step would be for you?
Like how could you do this on a slightly bigger scale starting three months from now?
Okay.
The next step, I mean, really the next next step is to go into the shipping direction.
Like, I want to be able to ship this bad boy.
But how are you going to make it?
That's the problem.
Okay, so there are so many problems, right?
But I looked into it.
I looked into it like there's a kitchen that I,
can rent out because everything has to be done. Now we're talking. Yes. Like a commercial kitchen?
Yes. You have to do it in a commercial kitchen. Yes. So I have found a commercial kitchen that I would
rent by the day and I would just kind of do a batch by the day. But I'm still having trouble right now
trying to jar it to where it can last more than five days. That's really what I'm,
the hurdle I'm trying to jump right now. There are things like Goldbelly, right? Where I order from
that and it's from all over the country and they are sending fresh food, but it has to arrive
pretty rapidly.
And they charge a bunch for that, right?
Well, they charge what it costs to send.
Yeah.
I've just heard, too, that, like, Abby's brought it up.
It's a little on the expensive side.
Like, I don't know if someone's going to spend 20 bucks on a jar of salsa because it costs that much to ship it overnight.
The kitchen's interesting.
You're going to need people to work for you.
I know.
Because you can't do it all yourself.
And I would like Hispanics, you know, people that know the business, know the salsa.
Racism.
Like, I'd like to find like that.
I'm suing it.
you. Right.
Authentic, you know, Mexican food makers.
Are you prepared to offer a decent wage?
Are you going to get that money to do that?
My point is you either need investors or a big loan to take out.
Yeah.
If you plan to do it and then have all your eyes dotted and teas crossed.
And you can scale small before you scale mid, before you get your warehouses and helicopters.
Mm-hmm.
But if you want to do it.
I never pictured a helicopter, by the way.
Because you ain't doing big enough.
It's.
A chopper with a saucer logo on top?
You may need money.
You need a plan and you need to accept money.
How do you even pay back investors?
Like, lunchbox, do you ever think about that?
Like, it sounds cool.
I can answer it.
Why would you go to him?
No, I do.
I always wonder that because it's like, here, invest in this.
It's like, well, how do you get your money back?
Because I watch Shark Take all the time.
They're like, oh, yeah.
It's when your company gets bought out.
You pay them a percent, 40 percent or whatever they bought in.
Only?
No, no.
That is one way.
I've made investments where it is only upon sale.
Like I invested at the very, very, very beginning in Waterloo.
Sparkling water.
Yeah.
Like, I'm talking 15 years ago.
Dang.
And so when it wasn't anything.
Now it's everywhere.
But I've not made anything back on that because that was when we sell it only.
So there's that.
But then also we have a restaurant.
we're part owners in. And I get checks every month. So it's based, it's a profit share.
Okay. So it would be like you lend me, whatever, $10,000. And for every jar of salsa, we sell.
You can't do every jar. No, you can't. You would do probably like quarterly. You could even do yearly.
And then you come up with a percentage that the, that the investor gets back, the return on investment.
Based on what they gave you. The ROI. I've seen that written down places.
But you need the money to make the money. So it's, when you're giving away percentage,
is you only given away percentages of money that you've made that you would have never made had you not had the money?
Okay.
Let me sit on this.
This is all new stuff.
There's no sitting.
No, there is.
There's money to be made here.
Okay.
I think there's money to be made, but you should hire somebody to help you make it.
Not hire somebody for the restaurant, for the making the salsa.
You should hire someone to help you.
Run the business?
If you really were serious about it.
No, this is fun for you.
I would just keep doing this.
Do you think that I could run the business?
No.
I think that it would be irresponsible.
of you to run the business. Yeah, I'll come in as CFO. Why? Why? I'll run the business.
Out of nowhere? No. No, out of right here. So, no. You need a numbers guy. Oh, my God. A number.
Can you imagine him being the numbers guy? He doesn't even know how to set email up on his phone.
I don't know how to do math. I think if you were serious, serious about it, I wouldn't involve myself with money. Sure. And then,
you'd get somebody good and you'd pay them you'd pay them probably money and you'd also probably
pay them a percentage of the business and but the percentages they only get paid if you're making
money yeah that's why it's a risk for them too right well they're also getting paid but yes partial
sure i did talk to a restaurant who's interested in featuring my salsa okay a local restaurant
that's great all that stuff matters but you're going to kill yourself if if you're trying to
get bigger by just doing the same thing you're not going to kill yourself if you continue it as a hobby
and it's fun and you like to sell salsa and make a little side money, that's amazing.
Keep doing that.
But if you have big dreams, you're going to end up doing like you do other things and just keep kicking the can so far, then just 20 years from now.
And you're going, dang, I have this big dream and you could have started 20 years ago.
Yeah.
Well, I haven't, I've only taken two weeks off of making salsa every week.
So that's a start.
To me, that's pretty good.
Usually I quit by now.
Just in general?
Just in general.
But not now.
I'm doing it.
I think it's, my point is I think it's good enough that you could actually have a legitimate shot to have success.
in this area.
Man, and where do you find someone to run it?
No, that's easy.
That is?
Sure.
Like, even when Amy came up and was like, hey, I got a deal.
Like, I get you clients and you give me a jar of salsa.
Not one.
How long ago was that?
She doesn't give me one.
Why would she be that motivated, though, for a jar of salsa?
Again, you're paying her in salsa?
That was her idea.
I know, but still.
I started to feel like a lot of work because I was having to go in my DMs and
then I'd have to coordinate with people and then.
Yeah, it's a lot.
It's a lot of work.
I want you from this conversation to feel like I believe in it so much that I think
it's worth the investment from you. But it's uncomfortable.
I like the conversation. But it's that good.
It's just finding strategic ways to get at places or maybe it's just local.
Are you telling me you want in? I'm not saying I want it. I'm saying you can't get it,
you can't have it any bigger unless people get in. That's what I'm saying.
Dude, and what's cool with you is you know all the country singers.
What is that?
So the next thing you know, Kane Brown's an investor. Next thing you know, Garth is
I'm not grabbing investors.
And then you have commercials with Gartha there saying like, you should try producer Eddie Salsa.
It's not bad.
Anyway.
Ronnie Dunn.
It goes on tour.
It's called the producer Eddie salsa tour.
Wow.
Brooks and Dunn presented by producer Eddie salsa.
That's what I'm talking about.
But let's just start with schools.
We got two jars in schools.
That's what we got.
Eddie saw someone go and poop in the bathroom and then not wash their hands and walk straight out.
A coworker, Amy.
I don't.
No, no, no.
Trust me, I didn't want to see it.
And the thing is, I was in the bathroom, right?
And I'm washing my hands.
This is how I know that they didn't wash their hands.
I was washing my hands.
They come out of the stall, the stall where you do number two, not one.
And I was like, great, whoever this is is, I'm going to have to talk to them by the sink.
They didn't stop.
They went right out the door.
Maybe they have hand sanitizer.
That's disgusting.
And they didn't want to talk to you either.
Do they look like the type of person that would have hand sanitizer?
I've never seen that person in my life.
Oh, so now when you do see them a second time, you're like, that's Poupans.
Oh, Pupan Jones?
I saw him later in the day and I was like, oh, my gosh.
Oh, Pupan Jones.
Whatever he's touching, don't touch.
Whatever he was just peeing?
In there, there was no one else in the bathroom.
But sometimes people want the privacy of the stall.
People are like he?
No, no, no, no.
Guys, if they're just going to pee and there's a wall.
But what about?
You've said sometimes you pee sitting down.
I don't at work.
You've said that?
Yeah, at home.
Why would I not?
Just take a rest?
Yeah.
Take a rest.
Lunchbox and you're arguing for him
So like do you just go in the stall sometimes to sit down to pee?
Not to sit down man
To do what drugs
P?
In the stall
It's like if the short one is the only one open
No no but they were open it's what I was saying
There was nobody else in him in there
Nobody else was at a urinal
Right right
But if Eddie was at where were you then
At the sink
So he was able to
In the time you were washing your hands
Go in the bathroom
Sit down take a poop
Come back out
Wash your hand
Why are you so like no
He was already in there.
When Eddie walked in and there was nobody in there.
He was already in there, dude.
I went, did my stuff, and I didn't know anyone was in there.
And when I was washing my hands, he came out.
The point is now you're always going to see that person as poop hands.
Oh, I know, dude.
And it's crazy that you don't even fake it if there's somebody else in the bathroom.
Let's say you don't wash your hands.
But if you see someone else there and you're coming out of the stall,
well, great.
Now I've got to stop 15 seconds and fake like I'm washing my hands.
I'm thinking about talking to the market president
and see if we can get one of those signs at restaurants.
Oh, it says all employees need to wash hands.
You think that's going to matter?
I thought you were going to tell...
I think we have those in our restroom.
You do?
But you think it matters.
You need to be reminded.
No, but you have at least a little guidance there to like, dude, wash your hands.
That's what the sign needs to say.
Dude, watch your hands.
You ever hear the Steve Martin joke?
It was like when he returned to comedy for like 20 years.
And he said, there was a, I'm going to just paraphrase it.
He said, there's a sign in the bathroom.
He said, there's a theater.
It says employees must wash hands.
And he said, I waited forever.
not a one of them came.
To wash his hands.
Employees much wash hands.
That's hilarious.
That's funny.
That's pretty funny too.
All right, that's it for today.
