You have messaged me or posted on our Facebook page or the B-Team Facebook page and just We're glad to be back. We're glad that you're here. All that.
Starting point is 00:02:56 And you'll get to hear about a lot of the stuff that happened over the break. I have a few stories. The first one, we'll talk about the bombing here in Nashville. Police at the Nashville blast credit divine intervention.
Starting point is 00:03:09 I want to play you this clip right here. Here is James Wells talking about hearing God talking to him and what happened when he heard the blast. As I'm getting ready to walk toward them, walking back toward the RV, I literally hear God tell me to turn around and go check on topping
Starting point is 00:03:21 who was by herself. down on Broadway. And as I turn around, for me, it felt like I only took three steps. And then the music stop. And as I'm walking back toward topping now, I just see orange. And then I hear loud, boom. And as I'm stumbling, because it rocked me that hard. It started stumbling.
Starting point is 00:03:41 I just tell myself to stay on your feet, stay alive. Crazy. So he was the one in the video that was released. That you can see him walking away right before the blast. Wow. The blast was so big. Yeah. And we talk about it later in the show, so I won't spend too much time on it now.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Massive. And where can I get in them in? There's another story I pulled. China is testing a hypersonic jet engine that is able to reach anywhere on Earth within two hours. Come on. They claim to have built a jet engine called the Sodrum Jet, capable of reaching speeds of Mach 16. Do you know about that? No.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Husband's a pilot, didn't know if. Yeah, no. I don't know. He might. Give me a lesson on mock 16. This means an aircraft kidded out with such engines can fly anywhere on the world within two hours. So this is cool and all, but can your body handle that? I'm assuming if they're going to send this up that they think if it can't now, they can figure out how to make it. Who would have thought our body can handle what it does now? That's true.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Yeah, I don't, yeah, it is crazy up there. my husband's dad also is a pilot and flew at that kind of fighter pilot. So in like jets like top gun style where you are hitting breaking like sound barriers and stuff, which is crazy. Yeah, this one here nine times a speed of sound. Yeah. So how fast this is. But you're right about the body.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Like, I mean, I worry about that when we just fly in a regular plane. Like what's my body going through right now? Flying through the air. Who knows? A lot. I'll find out later in life.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Yeah. And your body's also dehydrating. like crazy and you're swelling up. Like I would fly a flu to Australia once, flew to Japan once. And when you get off and you're kind of like, oh, your body just hurts because you've been moving for so long. You're gross, you're swollen, your socks are tighter. So weird. Yeah. Hotels are offering COVID-19 tests as part of an amenity package now. That's nice. Hotels are looking to get some sort of shot in the arm because people aren't going to hotels because people aren't traveling, really. So they're going, okay, what we're going to do is we're going to
Starting point is 00:05:50 offer a COVID test when you get here and when you leave, just for your own sake. Instead of the hot, fresh cookies, it's going to be a COVID test. You know a game that we played during the drive? Because we drove to Oklahoma. It is a long drive. We drove to Arkansas, which was six, Oklahoma, which was four, but then we drove all the way back. Did you play Ice Spy? No, we played the out.
Starting point is 00:06:10 This out, we did. We did play that a little bit. Not in the car, though. We played that in California, didn't we? We, Caitlin and I played this game with the alphabet where, and we can try to play it here. And I was pretty good. I think I ended up winning. She was really good.
Starting point is 00:06:29 My memory is not great. But I pulled through the one time we played. But you go A, like if I have A, I go A, and I pick a word that starts the letter A. I go any word. Yeah, A, Apple. Now, Eddie, you go next. And you go, no, first you go A, Apple, and then you do one of your own. So when you get to Z, you got to repeat all the first ones?
Starting point is 00:06:47 Yeah. What? Oh, do you know the game? Yeah, I know the game. Okay. That's crazy. Let's play around. I'm never going to remember.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Me. Eddie, Amy, lunchbox, me. You can't write them down, but I'm going to write the order down. Bobby, Eddie, Amy, lunchbox. All right, I'll go first. A, Apple. Me next? Yep.
Starting point is 00:07:06 A, Apple. B, but. Got him. A, Apple, B, but, C, cat. Okay. A, oh, A, Apple, B, but, I forgot, I don't even remember what Amy said. Don't tell him. He's going to be out if he doesn't know.
Starting point is 00:07:24 C, cat. Good. D, dynamite. A, Apple, B, but, C, cat, D, dynamite. E, exciting. Okay. Here we go. A, Apple, B, but, C, cat, D, dynamite, E, exciting.
Starting point is 00:07:42 F, fig. Why I am? The things I think of are so immature And then y'all say something else Like I was like, I wasn't going to say that Okay A Apple B butt C cat D dynamite
Starting point is 00:07:58 E exciting F fig G G Hmm G That starts in the G Game Okay there you go
Starting point is 00:08:10 A Apple B C, cat What comes out of C? D, dynamite, E, exciting. F, fig, E, F, F, G. Is it my turn to go G? Yeah, Amy did G. Oh, Amy did G.
Starting point is 00:08:31 What did you say for G though? Good grief. I kind of forgot to. What in the world? A, apple, beef. B fig. F fig. G, EF, F, F, F, G. G.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Ah. Need an answer. Yeah, I know. I'm trying to think of it, though. What? Because Amy said... Okay. It's been five.
Starting point is 00:08:58 We got to our destination. Giant. I don't know. No, I believe it was game. Game. Like what we're playing. Lunchbox is out. Right now.
Starting point is 00:09:05 All right. A. Apple. B, but. C.Cat. D. Dynamite. E. Exciting. F. Fig. G. Game.
Starting point is 00:09:16 H. Huh. That's a good word, huh. Oh, no. Nice. I'm going to do H. Hippie. Eddie?
Starting point is 00:09:28 Okay. H hippie. Gotta remember that. A, Apple. B, but. C. Cat. It is a D.
Starting point is 00:09:39 D. Dynamite. E. Exciting. F. F. Fig. G. Game.
Starting point is 00:09:46 H. Wait, did you say, huh? That wasn't it. Oh, crap. No, I can't remember. Hi. Hippo. Incorrect. No.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Hi. Hi. I'm out. Dang, this game is so hard. All right, Amy. Okay. A, A, Avel, B, butt, C, cat, D, dynamite, E, exciting. F fig.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Mbccc B.C. G game. H. Hi. Hi. Hi. Now me? Aye.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Ice. Okay. God, this is hard. A, Apple, B, but, C, cat, D, D, dynamite, E, exciting, F-F-Fig, G-game, H, hippie, I, ice, J, J, Jupiter. J, Jupiter. A, Apple, B, but, C, cat, D, D, dynamite, E, exciting, F fig, G, G game, H, Hi, I, Ice, J, Jupiter. Wow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Oh, ABC, B, J, J, J, K, okay, okay, okay, okay, um, hold on. This shouldn't be the hard part. Okay, that should be the easy part. Any word, Amy. Literally. Kangaroo. Okay, kangaroo. A, apple, B, butt, C, cat, D, dynamite, E, exciting, F fig, G, G, game, H, hippie, I, ice, J, Jupiter.
Starting point is 00:11:32 You always forget the last one. K kangaroo, L. Lubies. Loobies. Loobies, yeah. Louam platter. A, Apple, right? B, butt, C, cat, D, dynamite, E, exciting, F fig, H, H, H, H, H, hippie, I, ice, J, Jupiter, kangaroo for the K, L.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Well, is that what you just did? Movies. Yeah. M. Oh, M. Money. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:12:23 A, Apple, B, but. C, cat, D, dynamite. E, exciting. F, fig, G, game. H. hippie. I, ice. J. Jupiter.
Starting point is 00:12:39 H.I.J. K. Kangaroo. L. Lubies. M. Money. N. Newsboys. News boys. A. Apple. B, but C. Cat. D. Dynamite. E. Exciting. F. Fig. G. Game. H. Hi. Hi. I.J. Jupiter. Cangaroo. Okay. J. K. J. K. K. K. K. K. L. L. C.K. L. Lubys. L.M. Money.
Starting point is 00:13:19 L. M. M. M. No, newsboys. L. M. M.Octopus. Oh. A. Apple. B. Baby. C. baby. But he's like,
Starting point is 00:13:44 A, animal. What was B? Yeah, he knows that. It's okay. I was getting tired, too. I mean, I wasn't. It was fun. It was like to be in the back seat.
Starting point is 00:13:54 Everybody said we messed up from the beginning that we changed excited to exciting. Like, we switched the word. Anyway, so we all lost. No, we didn't all lose. Yeah, it was like no one won because everybody was saying exciting
Starting point is 00:14:06 and the word was excited. So that's a scrap. No, the word was exciting because I picked the word. I wasn't. That's what people are saying. It doesn't matter. Amy, you win. You're the champ. What we do, though, and I don't know if that was, the reason I didn't keep going to Z, because people are so bored of that game, we can cut it now.
Starting point is 00:14:22 But if they do like it, let us know, because we can get on here and gamble on it. Oh, and you know what is another game we used to play all the time that we don't play anymore? We haven't played him forever is the name game where you go around and it's like you have to. The famous people named Bobby and you have to go. The thing about that is though, people then start to go, no, his name's Bobby Rob. on this game you can gamble money on it and it's just memory. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:47 This is fun. I like it. So we'll stop there on that because if it was boring if you liked it, let me know. Tweet it, Facebook it. But yeah, I knew his butt. I know you did. Or did I know. I lost. Amy, here's my, I extend my hand. Good job. You're a better competitor. Thank you. You're pretty good at that game now.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Thanks. Okay, that's it. I think we're done. I'm going to make sure this text isn't about this segment. I knew I was smart. Somebody's texting me about that segment. No, it wasn't. All right. They're like, never do this again.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Right, and that could have been what it is too. Enjoy today's show. Here it is. Thank you guys. We're really glad to be back. Glad you guys are back. Away we go. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University,

Starting point is 00:19:10 Where do I start? Well, by the way, everybody have good Christmas? Oh, great. I'm sure we'll get to all that later today. I was in Oklahoma, and we felt safe about going over there because her parents already had COVID. I hope I can say that. And so we went over and we were tested every stop of the way. You know, we just didn't want to carry it with us.
Starting point is 00:19:32 Everywhere we went, we got tested and made sure if we saw anyone they were tested. Her parents had it. So we stayed there on Christmas Eve night and woke up and the bombing was here where we are. You know, that RV exploded and pretty much blew up, you know, an entire city block in Nashville. And so we're watching it in much like you guys. We're like, man, what happened here? For a while, the first thing they reported was that the bombing was accidental. The very first thing.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Like there's no suspicious activity. And then it slowly started to go, yeah, there's something here. There's something up. And then you start to hear the stories about the cops, the police officers that went. And even though this RV had a speaker in it or playing over and over again, this is going to blow up in 15 minutes, they were beating on doors whew running like evacuating everybody
Starting point is 00:20:21 and they all were fine and nobody died except the bomber which is fantastic you also I don't think that guy wanted anyone to die that's why he put that in there
Starting point is 00:20:31 yeah strange and now he you know he mailed a bunch of stuff off to folks before he died did you see that story yep and in it did you see what was in the the stuff he sent them just weird stuff
Starting point is 00:20:41 I mean the letters were very weird just about theories in life 9-11. Sure. Like, and it wasn't someone trying to do something political today. That was where everybody went initially. Yeah, because AT&T had lost all their servers there. So, I mean, everyone thought immediately, oh, my gosh, he's trying to target that corporation.
Starting point is 00:21:02 I don't think it was the case. His ex-girlfriend was like, yeah, I called the cops, told him he's making bombs. What's happening here? Yeah. We're just so lucky nobody died. There are people who have been displaced and have lost stuff and... Businesses impacted. Yeah, they're doing a thing, I believe, in town this week.
Starting point is 00:21:22 It's like a drive-through donate back. So, you know, I think that's good. There's those police officers, man. Just imagine. You don't know what's about to happen. You don't know when it's going to happen. And you're still there serving and protecting. Yeah, it's pretty amazing.
Starting point is 00:21:37 So, listen, not just them because they are heroes. We will probably get them in the studio this week. That'd be cool. As soon as it happened, I was like, Hey, Scoob, Steve, let's really make an effort. But Scoobah told me what, they have some time off. Why do they need time off? Nothing's happened in their life.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Come on. Scuba, what's the story there? So I talked to their boss, and he said, yeah, he gave them time off for obvious reasons. So he's collectively reaching out to them and see who we can come in studio. I'm trying for all six, but we'll see who we can get in this week. Hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday. Love it. And how do you get a hold of their boss?
Starting point is 00:22:07 Who does Scuba know to call their... He's got to call the chief, right? Are you Batman? Let me call the chief of police. So how do you have that contact? I just do a lot of research. I just look for all kinds of different things on the internet for who I can reach out to. I made a lot of phone calls.
Starting point is 00:22:23 And with all that digging, I finally got to I need to talk to. Scuba has a mask with him. He's the only one in that room right now, but he's wearing a mask at work because the COVID here is uptick like crazy. But he's got a baby. Yeah, he has an infinite. What happens if an infant gets COVID? Does anyone know? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:22:41 It's probably not something we want to figure out either. Let's not. But Scuba, how is the baby? How's the new baby? Oh, she's amazing. Like my first kid we had, he was, I love him, but he was terrible as an infant. He would never sleep. I love him.
Starting point is 00:22:55 But. But, and this baby, she was kind of awful the first couple of weeks, didn't get sleep. But now, man, she is amazing. She sleeps for three to four hours. When she's up, she's so happy and she's quiet. She never cries. And it's making us want to have so many more children. Really?
Starting point is 00:23:11 Yeah. My wife was saying like five or six. And I'm like, I don't know about five or six, but maybe somewhere around three or four, maybe. I thought he was kidding. No, I guess he's serious. No, she wants to. He has four? Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:21 What's the difference in two and four? A lot. I mean, I mean, it's, they're, they're hard. I mean, like, what about your life changes? Yeah, I mean, it's just, it's just your attention span gets, you know, a little crazier because there's just different stuff going on in every different direction. You know, where you have one or two, you focus on just them two, but then you got a baby over here breaking stuff and then another one fighting with another brother. So there's just a lot of stuff going on, which I think is the main difference. Well, we are glad to be back.
Starting point is 00:23:48 We have a lot to talk about. I got a new dog. Yeah, I want to hear about this. That's been a situation. See, that's like you went from one dog to two dogs. What's the difference between one dog and two dog bones? This one's trouble. This is the opposite of scuba steves.
Starting point is 00:24:02 This is, yeah, mine came, well, Stanley was trouble too. The good news countdown. Counting down the biggest good news stories across And I'm your host, Bobby. Here we go. Number five. A nurse in L.A. who's fighting leukemia can't work right now. So her co-worker stepped up and donated their own sick days to make sure that she keeps getting paid. Yay, that's awesome. You can donate sick days? I didn't know that. I never take donations. But all you fools in here, wouldn't mind having a couple extra days over there.
Starting point is 00:24:40 I've heard of teachers doing that for other teachers that need it. It's really cool. Yeah, it is cool. Number four. A man and his two dogs were rescued from a Wyoming River after the man's pickup truck became partially submerged in the icy water. He and his dogs are now safe. In the footage, a deputy can be heard coaxing the driver onto the bed of his truck. Here's a clip from the body cam footage of the rescue. Can you move to the back?
Starting point is 00:25:05 Good job. Keep moving towards me. We've got you. We'll get you out. He's got a dog with him. We've got you. Wow. That water is really. Russian pretty hard too. You can hear that in the clip.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Number three. A stray dog was adopted by a soccer player after interrupting a game. During a game, a dog ran onto the field with a soccer shoe in his mouth. Turns out the dog didn't have a home. Roll Castro now says he will be adopting the dog.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Hey, I love that. There it is. So cute. Number two. The Rock gifted a brand new truck to his childhood best friend that bought him his first car. He gifted his old buddy Bruno, a brand truck returning a favor that Bruno did from years ago. Here's a clip. I thank you for buying me my first car. And now I have an opportunity now to tell you this is your new car. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:26:00 I want to hug you so bad, but COVID won't let it. Put your mask up. All right, come here. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. He's like, dang, you had to return my text in 10 years. And now you bought me a car. Dang, that's crazy. Number one. A doctor in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, wiped the slate clean. nearly 200 of his cancer patients by cleaning out all their balances owed. Dr. Omar Attyk, who is an oncologist and founder of the Arkansas Cancer Institute, informed his patients that they're now done. No more debt. Wow. Yeah. That's huge. How crazy is that. All right, there you go. Hit it. That was the Good News Countdown. Hope you guys had a good break. A good
Starting point is 00:26:43 Christmas. A happy new year. And thanks to all the voicemails you guys. left us while we were gone, which by the way, you can call any time, even if we're off the air. 877-Bobby. That's a phone number. Here's one. I just had a driving question for you guys, actually. I was wondering what you guys do in the situation. You come up to a stop sign or a stoplight and you're taking your right.
Starting point is 00:27:05 And the person in front of you leads ahead of the stop on the line mark, but you're stopped on the stop line mark. So once they leave, do you have to stop again? and roll forward and stop again or can you just go? Because technically you're at the place where you need to stop. And I'm just wondering what you guys think.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Okay, did you guys get that? Yes. Okay, this is what you do. You just stay stopped for a little extra time. You let them go right. You don't follow them. You stay stopped for a second as if you were to pull up and stop
Starting point is 00:27:37 and then you go right if it's clear. Oh, I'm totally dialed in on driving right now because I took my CDL permit test before and I bombed it. It failed it because I studied the right. I studied two sections that I wasn't supposed to study. And two seconds I was supposed to study, I didn't study. So half of it I nailed.
Starting point is 00:27:55 And the other half I was like, what language is this? That's unlike you, man. You don't fail tests. No, they gave me the wrong sections to study. That's how he knows he studied the wrong thing. There's no way he would fail in this thing. Ever. You ever?
Starting point is 00:28:09 No, that's not true. Well. But that's not true. But you ever go into and have a test in high school or college and you get a, it and you go, oh yeah, I don't even know these words, somehow. Like immediately. A lot. A lot of my college. I don't.
Starting point is 00:28:23 Oh, yeah, that was when I did, ABC, D, F, D, F, D. Or I do that Scantron game where you'd be like, do, do, do, do, do, do, do. That is something I'm used to. And that's what happened. Any mini, money, but. Whatever. About every third question, I was like,
Starting point is 00:28:37 I don't even know what that is. Like, I've never even studied that word. Hey, when you did that, did you think there's a chance that you could pass it? Like, did you think you're guessing, but did you think there was a chance? Well, here's the thing about the CDL test, is that as soon as you, you take it in three sections, what I'm taking, as soon as you miss more than you can miss to pass it,
Starting point is 00:28:56 it just shut you down. Okay. So, no. So no, I was like, it shut me down and I was like, huh. Well, that's good. It didn't waste your time. But then I went out and I was like,
Starting point is 00:29:07 I think you guys gave me the wrong test. And they were like, what do you mean? I said, that wasn't what I studied. They said, oh, you didn't study the right stuff. So the last couple days I've been studying again, I'm going to take it again today and I think I've been studying the right stuff I know all about general knowledge
Starting point is 00:29:22 I know all about air brakes Yeah yeah because that's what trucks have Air brakes so I've been studying And I know all about You know about jackknifing? Yeah, of course if you start jackknifing Let off the brake Because the car the truck has to catch itself up
Starting point is 00:29:38 The worst thing you can do is slam on the brake even more Okay And you know how to you have to look in the mirror to see Yeah I thought you just feel it Hey did you learn about the The ramps, when you like, when your brakes don't work? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:29:49 They're uphill. Yeah. And some of them aren't as uphill, but they're always with gravel, very loose gravel. Yeah. Oh, I'm down ready. Okay. I'm taking it today. The other one, there's another section too.
Starting point is 00:29:59 But I've been, if I don't pass today, I have to drive an hour to take the test because the location close to here is shut down for COVID. If I don't pass today, the episode is supposed to do this weekend for my show gets all shut down. They're already out there waiting on me. They're all. They've been there for a week. Well, they're out there today.
Starting point is 00:30:14 and I'm supposed to get out there on Friday, but they're starting to shoot early stuff, but if I don't pass the test, I can't do the episode. Oh, boy, you'll pass it. Come on. I hope I pass it. You will. But yeah, I'm glad you asked me that driving question,
Starting point is 00:30:25 because I am ready to go. I'm right in. All right, here is a voicemail from Lexi in Arkansas. Hey, morning studio. So I have a problem. I just found out that my little brother, who lives with my dad, has COVID. They all have to quarantine,
Starting point is 00:30:39 and I'm getting married Saturday. My stepdad will still be there to give me away, but it will definitely be sundown. having my father there to give me away as well and it's going to be a hole in my heart. Do y'all have any advice how to include my dad for our big day? I wanted to be included so he doesn't feel left out. Thanks so much. You love the show.
Starting point is 00:30:59 Well, he is in quarantine. And that stinks. I'd tell you what I would do, though. If the wedding had a lot of space, I'd have him like 50 feet away watching from a distance with binoculars and I would just, I would manipulate the system. which you're not really supposed to do. Because he's not supposed to leave. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:19 But if he just gets in a car by himself, drives over, doesn't get within 50 feet of anyone, I'd probably have him do that. And then who gives her, I do! Like that would be my gut. Oh, yeah. Maybe he shouldn't open his mouth. He could hold up a sign.
Starting point is 00:31:37 Oh, yeah, yeah. I do. What do you say? Please press the air horn if you give her away. He could wear a, you know, hazmat suit or something. I don't know that I would do that. What about FaceTime? You can do that.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Just holding the phone up. Like put a screen up, like a TV screen, not just a phone. And put them through the TV screen, like just mirror it. It stinks. It's a stinky situation. I'm sorry that's happened to you. That is. But that would be the two things that I would lean on.
Starting point is 00:32:08 I mean, what are you going to say? Yeah, I'm just thinking it's sweet of you to be thinking of how to include him. Of course, he's probably devastated he can't be there. So whatever you come up with, it's going to be awesome. And y'all can hug and celebrate it all out once he's out of quarantine. In 10 days. Here is Brandon in Somersack, Kentucky. I download a few times.
Starting point is 00:32:35 But my question is, is there any place that I can purchase your other book fail until you don't? Yeah. You can also download it on Audible and listen to it. Or you can get it from Amazon. Or Scuba, do you have a little? away, do you have the guy's number? I can find it, yeah, and hit him back. Bobby, he'll call him and read it to him.
Starting point is 00:32:58 Chapter one. You wake up with her, Brandon? All right. Brandon, I don't know if you can hear me now, if you're listening live, but I will send you a signed copy of it, so you do not have to buy one, my friend. So if we can get a hold of you, I'll definitely do that. Sounds like he wants to listen to it, though. Why can't, what do you mean by my audible gift card?
Starting point is 00:33:18 I was just going to give him a book. Yeah, no, that's awesome. He'll get a card copy. And then, yes, you're letting him know that he can find it. But he listened to it on an audible already. He should know you can search the same thing. I don't know. I was thinking that too, but he might not know that.
Starting point is 00:33:31 My guy, Brandon, no. All right. Brandon, we're going to send this to you. I got a lot of messages from people who got bare bones. My first book, the story of, you know, basically my life. Got it for Christmas and read it. I gave someone your... No, let me stop you for a second, because now I'm irritated.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Because Eddie reads the Matthew McConaughey book. Did you see what I posted on your Instagram? I did see what you posted on me? Instagram. Was it good? The book or his post? No, the book. The book was fantastic.
Starting point is 00:33:56 The post made me so angry because if there's anything I want to stop is that. Like the whole idea of me, I did not sell your book bones. I did not give your book away. You didn't read it though either. That one I didn't read. Right. That's what I'm saying. He's like, you know, this is a great book.
Starting point is 00:34:14 And I wrote on there, oh, it's better than the one you gave away to the thrift store that I signed for him. And listeners were jumping into it. Yeah, yeah, they love to jump on. They love that. But you love the book? Oh, Matthew McConaughey book is great. I don't even care much for Matthew Connohey, but I'm a fan now.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Did you read it or listen? I read it in six days. Oh, wow. And I don't read, bones. I know. That's why I asked if you read or listen. There's a debate if you actually can, much less if you do. No, no, I can read.
Starting point is 00:34:40 I found out. Hey, let me play. This is Kim in Delaware. Here's another voicemail. Hey, I just wanted to tell you, I listened all morning to John Pardy. He was fabulous. I really, really enjoyed it. You know, miss you, of course.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Just want to let you know, kudos to John. And I hope you're having a good time with your trip. I think it's probably over now, but I hope you had a good time out in Oklahoma and such. Happy New Year. Take care and keep up the good work. Bye. Thank you, Cam in Delaware. John filled in for me on the Country Top 30.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Hosted it. What if he just came in and broke into this show? He did the Bibone show. This is the John Party show. Tell me something good. I'm friends. with John and Summer. I would say we're friends, friends. And during the break, John and Summer call us, Caitlin and I like, come hang out. There's nobody at this hotel. We have the, we have the
Starting point is 00:35:34 whole spa. We didn't. Is this after their wedding? Yeah. Okay. We didn't. Um, but then I saw them on Instagram randomly with Kid Rock at a hotel in like Sarasota, Florida. Oh. They didn't call us to do that hang out. No, not that one. But they were just like, I believe in a hotel. And Caitlin go, John and Summer with... She held a little funger. John in Summer with Kid Rock in a hotel room. And then the next slide
Starting point is 00:35:57 was like them going, anyone know where I can get a COVID test? That's in perfect order. Anyway. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two's 32nd skinny. Brian Kelly from Florida Georgia Line announced he's releasing a solo album
Starting point is 00:36:16 this summer, though Florida Georgia Line isn't breaking up. They're still releasing their new album, February 12th. Chris Lane and his wife Lauren announced they're expecting a baby boy. They shared their gender reveal video on social media. Chris hit a golf ball and it exploded with blue powder. Parker McCollum released his new song to be loved by you. Maybe you might be. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news. With Bobby.
Starting point is 00:36:57 Tell me something good. A homeless man put his own safety aside to save animals in danger when an Atlanta to animal shelter caught fire. Gracie Hamlin, founder of the W. Underdog Shelter says that Keith Walker risked his own life when he rushed in to rescue cats and dogs earlier this month. Hamlin knew Walker because she lets him keep a dog, a pit bull named Bravo at the shelter every night. He was on his way to take Bravo for a walk when he saw the blaze and was like, what in the world? So he runs in, freeze six cats, 10 dogs as the fire is happening. He admits he was nervous, but the God put him there to save those animals.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Luckily, W. Underdogs was getting ready to move to a new facility, so the animals have a new location already, but they weren't there yet, and then she can't thank him enough because he saved all those. Isn't that crazy? That's awesome. That's awesome. But where is the part of the story where somebody gives him something?
Starting point is 00:37:52 Because he needs it. You know? Somebody give him something. That's a great story. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobby Bones show. Boney up the day.
Starting point is 00:38:04 This story comes to us from England. A 30-year-old man was lonely over the holidays. He's watching Celine Dion's Christmas concert, and he's drinking some champagne, and next thing you know, the next day, he realized, uh-oh, I changed my name to Celine Dion online. Yeah, he legally changed his name. Yeah, he paid $89 to go,
Starting point is 00:38:25 he went to the website, and he changed his name to Celine Dion, and he had no recollection of it until he went to the mail, and they had the form in the mailbox. And it was addressed, Mr. Dion. He's like, what is happening here? All right, there you go. I'm lunchbox. That's your Bonehead story of the day. Starting point is 00:42:11 gone. We're glad to be back. I don't know about you guys, but I was kind of anxious to get back to work. So I'll tell you, one of the big developing stories from over the break was we got a new dog. We adopted a dog. They found it on the street. We were like, we'll take that dog. So there's a place called Wags and Walks. Yes. So that's what it's called, right? And so we went through them. They said people are fostering it at this house. And so we go over, and it was for Caitlin's birthday, by the way, which is tomorrow. She wants another dog. She wanted a girl dog.
Starting point is 00:42:40 And I was looking for the right one. But we needed a dog that wouldn't be bullied once it got older by our bulldog. And he's a really nice loving dog, but he's just so big. He's like half husky. Okay, yeah, I was going to ask. He looks husky. Half husky, half coon hound. Really?
Starting point is 00:42:57 Half, I don't know. Oh, you're making that up. No, no. That part is like cooinghamham? We had the DNA test. Wow. You do that with dogs now. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:43:03 And it came with the dog. Yeah, it's kind of cool. So we go and we get the dog and you know what, rightfully so. This little dog is just a mess. He wants to bite and attack everything that grabs it because it's been on the streets. He's a puppy, right? She is a puppy. She is a puppy.
Starting point is 00:43:20 She is three and a half months old. She's biting Stanley's face. And he takes it. And then finally he's like, I'm not taking this anymore. And just takes his paw and goes, boom, and knocks her across the room. For like four days. It was just out of control. So we have a friend who's a trainer.
Starting point is 00:43:36 We go, hey, he's spent some time with this dog. So right now, the dog is being trained. But even after a couple weeks, you know, it's still a puppy. But it just went through this process. It has been, it has been a lot. Yeah, so I know the same friend. Because it's a friend of ours. The dog ate a hole in one of their jackets.
Starting point is 00:44:01 Did they tell you that? And they were wearing the jacket. The dog will just jump on. You know what the dog reminds me of? By the way, I'll tell your name in a second. But the dog, the dog we just adopted, who is going, we're going to straighten it down. She's going to have a great life. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:15 But the dog reminds me of if you're running through a field and like a chigger gets on you, it just jumps up and all of a sudden it's there and you can't get it off. And then they're everywhere. That's what the dog reminds you of because all of a sudden it's just latched on to you. And so we're going to get there. it's very small, it's very angry, and it should be angry because it's had a rough life. Caitlin named it Eller.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Now, do you know why, Eddie? Yes. Oh, you already know. Yes, I already know. But would you have known? No, of course not. Eller is the aunt in the musical Oklahoma, which this song is from right here.
Starting point is 00:44:53 There you go. And Caitlin loves the musical Oklahoma. She's from Oklahoma. She couldn't be prouder of it. Not only that, that dogs for her birthday. tomorrow night we're having a very small dinner and Amy's coming you have to be dressed like from the musical Oklahoma
Starting point is 00:45:11 Oh wow It is themed And like what does that attire look like? Mine's super cowboy Yeah I asked Bobby about it He's like Google the musical I'm like but still I don't understand Because they're like settlers right
Starting point is 00:45:25 Like old west settlers? Yeah fair fair yeah could be Chuck wagon time But I feel good about it. Like, everybody's getting COVID tested before they come over. I say everybody. It's five people, you know. So, but we're, it's going to be Oklahoma, the musical.
Starting point is 00:45:44 We're going to have dinner. Was that your idea? This is the women from Oklahoma, the musical. Yeah, but you can dress like a cowgirl. Okay. It's my idea. Oh, so you set this up for it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:55 Yeah. But it just stinks. It's her birthday. And the only people coming over with people already in our tiny circle. It stinks. Just these people coming over. No, not these people. I'm saying it stinks that she can't have a big birthday party.
Starting point is 00:46:08 I get that. I'm joking. It doesn't stink that it's the... Because we have like four people that we see. And that's who's coming over. It's the same poor people. Yes, but to give it a wrinkle where it's dressed as an Oklahoma the musical. And then Caitlin, her favorite food is...
Starting point is 00:46:25 I have to tell her this because I didn't want to have this and it'd be like the day of. All right. Surprise. You got to dress up like some from my... Oklahoma. I told her so we're making she loves mac and cheese, their favorite food. Three different kinds of mac and cheese.
Starting point is 00:46:38 Chips and queso, which are second favorite food, and pasta. Nice. So that's the menu. There you go. And Amy will be there. Do you have your attire? No, I just now googled it. Wait, it's tomorrow night. How are you going to find that? Oh, I know. Well, I was already in my head thinking just cowgirl, but now I'm thinking
Starting point is 00:46:54 I could go a little bit more. I can see what I can dig up. I have some things. We'll see. I'll also, oh, is that including, I'll bring extra mac and cheese too. I'm making it. Okay. You are? Yes. Great.
Starting point is 00:47:09 All right, but that's what happened over the break. We got a new dog. Good luck, man. And this dog is not having it right now. Are we still going to do a thing where I send the picture of Stanley to your friend? Yeah, if you want to. Can I talk to your psychic cousin off the air? Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:26 How much does that cost? Well, I don't know because I'm her cousin. Yeah. Do I get $3.99? Well, she's called into, that's how, yes, that's why you've been getting it free 99. And you've been kind enough to like say her name. So yes, I'm sure. That's great.
Starting point is 00:47:41 You got a private concern? I gave her the old Destiny Child. What does that mean? Say her name. No, but I mean, listeners have been able to reach out to her. So I think it's a, and of course, yeah, she's awesome. Private concern. No, but I'm going to tell you something here.
Starting point is 00:47:54 Yes. I haven't said this on the air yet. Not a private concern. But she said something. in a past, by the way, new listeners, I don't believe in psychics. Me neither. But Amy's cousin has been nailing them.
Starting point is 00:48:08 She's really good at what she does. I also don't believe I'm good at sports betting, but I'm on fire for like three months. Eventually you just have to go, well, I guess God gave me this talent. See, I'm wondering if she's right or you're just following her destiny. No, because she predicted when we were getting engaged. Right. And she, we kept it secret.
Starting point is 00:48:26 She texted me the date. I didn't even know. Bobby and I thought when she sent me the date, I thought, that's too soon. No way that will happen. And then I remembered the date wrong and I was bummed because I thought my cousin was wrong. And I was like, well, dang it. She wasn't right. And then I never bring it up because I didn't want to like embarrass my cousin or anything. And then when Bobby announced it on air, she heard about it and she sent me a screenshot of our text. She was like, nailed it. And I was like, oh my gosh, I never went back and looked. I just went from memory. And ah, she was right. And it blew my
Starting point is 00:48:56 mind. So she's just been right too many times to disregard it. So this is, this will be a big year for me and my future in whatever. If my TV show does great on Nat Geo Disney Plus, fantastic. If I decide, if it bombs out and I decide, hey, you know what, this isn't for me and I go and run for office, move back to Arkansas, great. But, but, but she told me when we asked her, I said, hey, am I going to run for governor of Arkansas and when? And she goes, I don't see governor, but I see you in like... Senate. Or Congress. Yeah. Okay. Well, this just
Starting point is 00:49:32 in. What? I just got... They were like, hey, would you run for Senate? Stop it. Who said that? I don't want to tell you, but somebody deeply inside of Arkansas politics. Huh. And I go, excuse me, have you been talking to Amy's cousin? And they were like, who's Amy? You know, the one
Starting point is 00:49:50 who lives in South America? Yeah, she lives in belief. But I'm going to have to know by the end of this year. Anyway, that's why I had to talk to your cousin. Weird. I know. The top price for the mega millions is $432 million, which is set for tomorrow night.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Lunchbox, do you buy tickets to this? Absolutely, $100 worth. Wow. That's a lot. It's not a lot compared to $400 million. But it's a lot compared to you're most likely going to lose. If you go in with a negative attitude, you get negative results. If you go in with positive attitudes, positive outcomes.
Starting point is 00:50:24 That's what I've been taught in life. I think if you have the opportunity to control the outcome, that is true. When you have no control over at all, I don't think it affects one iota. What is that thing you call when you think something? Law of attraction. No, the chip thing, how I came prepared and I had to eat the chip. You guys, I destined it or whatever. I don't even know what you guys called.
Starting point is 00:50:44 You manifested? That's it. I'm manifesting this lottery win tomorrow night. That is what I'm doing. Well, you have a 1 and 302 million shot at winning the mega million. You got to manifest hard. Man, I'll be manifesting all day. Well, some things they say you have to do before claiming your winnings.
Starting point is 00:51:03 By the way, what would you do, lunchbox? If you win, what's the first three things that you do? Go. Buy a new, buy a Lambo. I buy a boat and I move to an island. Okay. I wouldn't, listen, guys, I'm telling you, when I win this lottery, you will never hear from me again. I won't even come quit on air.
Starting point is 00:51:25 leave and I'll just never show up again. Experts say that if you win this or a large lottery, the first things you should do are get an attorney that specializes in this, a tax advisor, and a financial advisor. Also, they say tell as few people as possible because everybody's going to want something and also people that you don't even know are going to try really weird ways to get into your life or steal from you. But if you're on your own island. You can't get to you.
Starting point is 00:51:54 Fine. Yeah, yeah. Exactly. Not on this list. Does it say buy a Lambo first? Yeah, because then those people try to come get you, guess what? You ain't going to catch the Lambo. But you have a lawyer lined up, right?
Starting point is 00:52:05 I mean, sure. I know some lawyers. And I know a tax guy. I do my own taxes, so I'm a good tax guy. That's true. We can always call the guy we had on the air here. Yeah, Morgan to Morgan and Morgan. Hey, Morgan, we're rich.
Starting point is 00:52:19 Can you help us out? He's like, yeah, so am I, man. Don't eat icicles. from your house. Why not? If you're in a place that is super cold right now or will be, they say if you eat icicles, you're eating poop. From animals. Well, here you go. This is Iowa meteorologist Katie Nicolao KMegi, Sioux City, Iowa telling people break your icicle habit. Here you go. When icicles form, it's from water that melts off of your roof and runs down the side of a building. Well, here's the thing. You know what else is on your roof? Bird poop. A lot of it.
Starting point is 00:52:53 and that water picks it up and freezes it in the ice. You're eating poop. Gross. It's a matter of fact. You know the sentence you never want to hear in your life? You're eating poop. That's the one you don't want. I'll tell you another story that I saw a clip on TikTok and was like, man, where are these idiots?
Starting point is 00:53:11 Like what country are they doing this? But it was these two men, they were on top of a hotel rooftop during New Year's Eve. I guess New Year's Day. It was New Year's Day night. and they jumped off the top of the hotel. It was here in Nashville. Yeah, I saw that. Two men caused a panic when they jumped off the roof
Starting point is 00:53:29 and it caught on video stunt. Video footage shows the pair climb onto the railing and then nonchalantly just jump off and they open up their parachutes. Like jump, parachute. What do they call that? Is it base jumping? Base jumping is exactly what it is.
Starting point is 00:53:43 They don't have to notify anybody of that? That's illegal. That's why. Oh, I didn't know if they have to tell the FFA or... I don't think you can just parachute. You can jump off a hotel and to downtown. I only can do that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:53 Do you think they're like, no, we told you guys. I'm like, oh yeah, you're good. I'm going to play a clip. Here's a clip of video freaking out, just watching them walk up to the railing and then jump on the rooftop bar. Oh my God. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:54:05 They're gone. Oh, my God. The video was taken from the 25th floor rooftop bar. Again, only 25 floors. Wow. Which is high, but it's not. Like tons of time to get the... That's not a lot of time.
Starting point is 00:54:18 They pulled it pretty quick. Okay. Hotel security told cops. the two jumpers got into a car and nearby parking lot where they landed and drove off. How'd they fit their parachutes in that thing? They probably dumped the parachutes, I would think.
Starting point is 00:54:30 Do you think it's like underwear your name's written in it? And then they go to the parachutes and they're like, we got Clint Jacobs here. Here's Amy's pile of stories. So if you're still looking to set some sort of New Year's resolutions, well, setting some that improve the world
Starting point is 00:54:47 will actually add to your own well-being. So it's that put the positivity out there, receive the positivity. So you don't have to worry. about losing weight or this or that, there's a scientist that is saying, hey, we all need to collectively give back to others,
Starting point is 00:55:02 and that's going to give you the most satisfying results in 2021. But if you're only giving back to others to get satisfying results, does that counteract? Yeah. I don't know, Bobby, do you want to call him? I'm sure scuba Steve can get a hold of them.
Starting point is 00:55:19 But, I mean, it is true. If you would like to be happier, work on making other people happier and it will come back to you. Well, I'll also say this, and I was kidding. I know. I think if you do anything for anyone, I don't care if you're doing it for selfish reasons, for you, for your business. It doesn't matter. As long as you're still doing things for other people. As long as someone who wasn't getting that benefit gets that benefit, it helps their life, I don't care. You know, you see people write stories like, well, they only did it because it was a tax
Starting point is 00:55:44 deduction. Yeah. They could have not done it and just paid it. And someone's life benefited from it. So I'm never going to be someone who gets angry. You'll see people go after celebrities on Instagram because celebrity's like, oh, I just tip $500. They're like, well, won't you not brag about it? Well, two things. One, they did that actually helped somebody. And two, who knows, even if one person saw that and was inspired to give a little more,
Starting point is 00:56:10 it just did its job. People love to hate on social media. All right, what else? So Brian Kelly from Florida, Georgia, Lyon announced he's releasing a solo album in the summer. He's working on his own music during, quarantine, but the guys are going to be releasing a new Florida Georgia Line album February 12th. Well, here's the thing. We know that they're not in love with each other right now, regardless of what they say. They're smart guys, though, and they will keep Florida Georgia Line together
Starting point is 00:56:37 because it just makes them too much money. Yeah. And listen, you can love their music or not like their music. You can't say they're not smart businessmen. I mean, they're killing it right now. That being said, you never do a solo project. They're like, We need some creative freedom. And I watch the whole nine-minute video they put up on Twitter. If Brian Kelly said one more time, I'm just trying to be authentic with you guys.
Starting point is 00:56:59 I think he said it three times. No, maybe it's Tyler. Tyler. Yeah, because you're doing the Tyler voice. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Tyler. Listen, okay, so what? You don't like each other right now. Do some solo stuff.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Go out. It'll probably do fine, but not great. And then get back together and put out some more big songs. But don't act like you're fooling us. They recorded this record like a year ago. Good. I'm all for it.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Give us some more music. I like, I like their music. I think it's fine. I think it's good. But yeah, okay. What else you got? Well, so does it bother you to learn, if I tell you right now, that King's Hawaiian rolls are not made in Hawaii? No.
Starting point is 00:57:36 I didn't think they were. I just expect everybody to lie to us all the time. No. Well, there's a guy in New York, Robert Galinsky, and he's not happy about it. So he has filed a class action lawsuit against King's Hawaiian rolls because you would think it's all Hawaiian and that's what you're getting. But in tiny font or print in the bottom, it says that they are made in Torrance, California,
Starting point is 00:57:59 and he's not happy about it. Well, there's a fried chicken place going to get sued by me then too. Because it ain't made Kentucky. That's right. Was Hawaiian Punch made in Hawaii? Doubted. Oh, what else is there?
Starting point is 00:58:13 Hurry, think of more. Amy, we're trying to get one in. If I have a few more minutes, I can think of something. All right, I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With Amy.
Starting point is 00:58:29 Tell me something good. So there's this kid. His name is Bond Hill. He's only five years old, but he already livestreams meditations online. He's been meditating since he was 18 months old. Is that meditating at 18 months? Isn't that just asleep? Like, yeah, but...
Starting point is 00:58:46 He might only be five, but he wanted to do a charitable... meditation marathon. And he was inspired by Kobe Bryant. And his number being 24, he held a 24 minute long meditation where people would donate money to participate. And he's a big fan of Kobe. Kobe meditated. So this is his whole thing.
Starting point is 00:59:06 And he raised thousands of dollars for kids to get Christmas presents through this homeless coalition in New York through his meditation minute. I think it's great. Listen, I read a whole article when they were doing all the year-end articles about kids and that kid who does the toy reviews. Oh yeah, Ryan. Made like $30 or $40 million. And now he's like starting to be a little older.
Starting point is 00:59:29 He's not the young kid anymore. It's like, different. Yeah, because they get older. And it's like, hey, dude, you're a little too old for some of these toys you're reviewing. But yeah. Like, good for that kid. If he can dial in now and be the owner of kid meditation,
Starting point is 00:59:42 there is a lot of mullah there. Wow, wow, wow. And also, I'll be meditating tonight from like 10 p.m. to 4.38. How much? So you can watch me if we can raise some money. There you go. That's a good one. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University,

Starting point is 01:03:25 Right before we came on the air in this segment, Amy goes, hey, if you guys will just laugh, it'll go a lot better. Yeah. I'll tell the joke, and then you just laugh, and then it'll be fine. We're not giving you laughing. Yeah, she's begging for laughs off the air here. It's just laughter creates more laughter. And then other people think, oh, yeah, that's funny.
Starting point is 01:03:42 And Bones, what do we say? We'll see. Yeah, it was rude. We'll play by ear. All right, it's time for the morning corny. Here we go. The morning corny. What New Year's resolution should a basketball player never make?
Starting point is 01:03:58 What New Year's resolution should a basketball player never make? To travel more. Okay. That's pretty funny. That's Amy clapping, by the way. We didn't break. That was the morning corny. Hey, speaking of New Year's resolutions, here's a voicemail that we got from Winston.
Starting point is 01:04:17 Hey, Bobby. I'll listen to you all show every morning on my way to work. And a quick question for you all. I wanted to see what y'all's New Year's resolution was. If you're going to change a habit or get rid of something in your life, if it could be anything, can you guys be safe and look forward to listening to you guys some more. Nice. Thanks, Winston, appreciate that.
Starting point is 01:04:39 We can hop around. Eddie? So I don't Like I didn't really want one this year But when I had to really think about it And be like all right There's one thing I want to change Is my house is kind of a mess
Starting point is 01:04:51 Like not just a physical mess But like there's just the kids Are crazy running around fighting all the time And then there's also the physical mess So I talk to my wife And I think our resolution is going to be We need to straighten And have some order in our house for this year
Starting point is 01:05:05 Ooh that's tough to make a goal That doesn't have an end An actual goal point I just think the end Every day, at the end of the day, we're like, so exhausting. We're just like, we cannot be doing this every single day. So the goal is, in our minds, if we don't do that at the end of the night, we've achieved our goal. How about every Wednesday you take 30 minutes and try to straighten out the house?
Starting point is 01:05:27 Yeah, do it. Set aside. That's pretty easy, actually. You know what works at our house, too? I learned this from my sister, and she has four kids. Like randomly, she'll set a timer and she'll be like, okay, everybody, 10-minute P-U. And it's a 10-minute pickup session. Not a bad idea.
Starting point is 01:05:40 And a couple times a week. It's just, and all, there's six of you pitching in for 10 minutes, a lot can get done. Well, five of them can do it. Well, whatever. No, the baby needs to step up. That baby has been slacking. You're right. You're right.
Starting point is 01:05:53 But, I mean, and I, so I implemented 10 minute views. And they're great because it's not overwhelming. And you do get a lot done. All right, good stuff. I'm not a big resolution guy, but Caitlin and I were working out the other day. She was like, hey, let's make a resolution for our relationship. Because we're supposed to get married this year. And I was like, okay, great, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 01:06:12 And so we, just because my schedule has been, especially the last six months, but a bit hectic and I've been on the road a lot, we are going to spend two quality times a week together. Ooh. It doesn't mean it's eight hours, but I do, I'm on my phone a lot, checking emails. Also, I love Twitter.
Starting point is 01:06:33 Love it. But as a couple, and it's great to have someone hold you accountable. That's our two a week. It could be a dinner with no phones. It could be, there's not a lot we go do right now. We pretty much lock ourselves in for COVID. But two a week is the goal. And then we made an individual one in mine was,
Starting point is 01:06:51 I'm going to read a bit more for enjoyment, meaning the only books I read now are ones that I'm trying to learn stuff. We're trying to learn. They're like either not really self-help, but right now I'm learning about the concept and why people choke. And not physically, but like mentally. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:09 Like I'm reading about why people's minds perform lesser when situations are taller for them to achieve. But I'm like, you know what? I just want to read the book about Snow White, Strawberry Shortcake. I don't know why I picked those two. Really? But those sounds short and pretty easy to read. I want to read. So I'm going to at least throw one or two books in there that I'm just going to read for fun.
Starting point is 01:07:30 Amy bought me a bunch of books for Christmas. Yeah. I think there are a couple of fun, but most of them are more in your lane of like mindful thinking. Which is what I'm drawn to. Yeah. Yes. That's my years. I don't really do resolutions, but like last year I did a word.
Starting point is 01:07:45 You know, my word was water. And this year, my word is calm. How did water go for you? Water went well. I was trying to be more fluid, like figuratively. Okay. So, and then my friend even brought to my attention, she was like, you know, I was thinking about how water was your word.
Starting point is 01:08:04 And there was a lot of water moments. Like, you cried a lot. Tears, water. And then also you jumped in the pool with all your clothes on. And I had to learn to become really fluid like I was. I had to go with the flow. So water is good. And this year, it's calm.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Like just in, even in stressful situations, how can I, I know I am strong enough mentally to control my emotions, not ignore them, but I can be better at it. So that's what I'm working at. By the way, mine last year I hit. What? I was to play golf six times because I hadn't played in years. You went over that number too, I think. Yeah, it's weird because mine always have to be to do fun stuff because I don't do enough
Starting point is 01:08:45 because I'm very dialed in on trying to get ahead in my career. But I'm doing it again this year. I feel good. Lunchbox, what's yours? Be more patient with my wife because I'll have a conversation with her and I feel like she has hearing problems and she'll ask me to repeat it twice. And after I repeat it once, I just say, never mind, you missed out. And I don't repeat what I said.
Starting point is 01:09:04 And it causes huge fight. I'm going to try to be more patient with my wife and not get frustrated. And my other one is make more money. Are you going to work harder? You know, as a businessman, you've been just thinking you've got to have your hand in more than one cookie jar. If you don't have them in multiple cookie jars, it's hard to make more money. So I'm going to put my hand in more cookie jars this year and, you know, try to get some more money out of there. Is that an answer to you're going to work more?
Starting point is 01:09:30 Does that mean? I think that's what he's saying. I'm curious to know about the cookie jars. I'll check it back in in a couple weeks just to kind of see what his new cookie jars are going. Are you investing your time or money into a jar? Well, I mean, that's what I'm saying. I'm always putting feelers out there talking to people like,
Starting point is 01:09:47 oh, you got this going on? Maybe I need to be a part of that. All right. We'll check you back in in a couple weeks. Do the cookie check in. Something that happened right as our break was starting was Army Sergeant Christopher Biggs' house was built. If that name's familiar, it's because you guys,
Starting point is 01:10:03 built it basically. You know, we on this show love our military. We try to support them as often as we possibly can. And what we did is we raised money to build him a house. That's it. And we did it. And they built a house. And I posted on my Instagram story.
Starting point is 01:10:19 You know, he served seven years in military, two tours in Iraq. It was during his second tour in 2007, he was severely injured an explosion that would cost him his leg. And what we're able to do is work with homes for heroes. Building homes for heroes. Yeah. And they are able to build these houses for them specifically because of their needs now. And we did it.
Starting point is 01:10:41 As my friend Dora says, we did it. Yeah, yeah, we did it. And so I'm just so grateful to you guys that listen to the show that hop in and do big things. You know, this is the biggest stuff that we do is to help others. And so thank you. I'll say it again. Thank you very much. And to Sergeant Biggs, thank you.
Starting point is 01:11:01 Yeah, he's the hero. And then... And our listeners are the heroes too. And our listeners too. Like, and even that was a special moment. And they're in front of the house and you see that it's reality. Because when you're, we're talking about it and maybe you go on and you buy a pimping joy shirt and you wear it and you're like, oh, wow, this helped build a home
Starting point is 01:11:16 for a hero. But then I love that we're able to give the follow up. And like, here he is in his real house that you helped make happen. And then they send us a picture and they're all lined up and their pimping joy shirts. Like, it's just spreading joy is so much fun and especially for someone that deserves it. We do this. I mean, that's what we do on this show. We try to give back in every way possible.
Starting point is 01:11:38 And by we, I mean you guys and us. So thank you. Just wanted to say it again. A Harvard professor says an alien visited in 2017 and more aliens are coming. What's the one word you think of when I tell you that story, Amy? Crazy. Eddie?
Starting point is 01:11:52 Bada. A. Oh, yeah. Lunchbox? Cuckoo! Cuckoo! So when the first sign of intelligent life visits us from space, it will not be a giant saucer hovering over New York.
Starting point is 01:12:05 Most likely, it will be an alien civilization's trash. Avey Loeb, the chair of Harvard's Department of Astronomy, believes he's already found some of that garbage. He's got a book. It says, yeah, aliens are here in 2017. Wow. And they're coming back. Okay, so you found trash, right? But how does he know they're coming back?
Starting point is 01:12:26 For starters, it was the first interstellar object ever detected inside of our solar system. Judging from the trajectory, astronomers concluded was not bound by the sun's gravity, which was suggesting that it was traveling. Eddie, there's a lot of words to this. I don't understand. Send me that article. I mean, in my own time. The acceptance was that the alien race has made contact, even through its trash, and it would trigger a serious search for more trash, leading it to scour again, and they'll be back. That's awesome. Okay, if they said, hey, aliens are coming.
Starting point is 01:12:55 Yep. What would you think? I don't, I think not. You'd think they weren't coming? I think they're not. But I, remember that Unsold Mysteries from on Netflix? That was pretty crazy because those people, they were in that town and they got taken up. They didn't know each other.
Starting point is 01:13:10 And they all had the same story. They were 100 miles away from each other. That part blows my mind. But also, and when I say crazy, I think either it's crazy and wow, I can't believe it or that guy's crazy. Okay. But if the news, if they came on the news tonight. Yeah. And they said, hey, we're going to have a few aliens come next week.
Starting point is 01:13:28 Okay. Chance of 72. Chances, the weather's high as 72. And some aliens are coming next week. Are you scared? Are you excited? What do you do? I'm going to stay calm and just be as welcoming as possible.
Starting point is 01:13:41 Making signs. What do you think? Oh, scared, for sure, because it's scary. Why? What if they're the transformers? They could be so nice, but they can also be really angry. So I don't know what to expect, but I will welcome them with open arms. I will feel as if they will be enslaving us.
Starting point is 01:13:57 Oh, gosh. And you know what? They probably should. Why? Why? Why do we do to them? Because they're probably way smarter than us. They can travel across the solar systems.
Starting point is 01:14:06 Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get that. And why would they not? Secondly, here's the thing about alien. We have this thing in our mind. Like, aliens would be our size. Like, they would come. There's no reason to think they want to be microscopic and we can't see them. Then we definitely win if that was the case, right?
Starting point is 01:14:18 No, they might. Or we can't see them. Or no reason to think that they're not 200 feet tall for just one. Or they're invisible. Right. We just assume they're like us. And they're not. Yeah, it's a good point.
Starting point is 01:14:30 I spent a lot of time thinking about this stuff. So there was that story I wanted to share. By the way, hey, Merry Christmas. Happy New Year, everybody. We're back. Go back and listen to the show on the podcast if you can. Because I got a new dog. We talked about that and what we named the dog and why we named the dog that.
Starting point is 01:14:46 I failed a test. I talked about that. We got a lot of, our New Year's resolutions. So search for Bobby Bone Show on demand. Listen to that. Amy, what was your celebrity story you had? So a listener sent me a note. about her cousin.
Starting point is 01:14:59 This happened to her cousin who lives in San Antonio. His name's Nathaniel. He delivers food for DoorDash. And he gets a call to go pick up some food from Panera bread. So he goes and picks it up. And then who does he take it to? He doesn't even realize this is the house that he's going to until he's there to deliver a food.
Starting point is 01:15:17 And all of a sudden this man pulls up in a really nice sports car or something and gets out. He's like, I'll take that. I can go and take it inside. and then gives him a hundred bucks as a tip and says, take the rest of the day off. And then he looks back and looks again. He's like, that's George straight. What?
Starting point is 01:15:35 Yes. So I guess George and maybe his wife are getting some Panera bread delivered to the house. And George happened to pull up and see the delivery guy. And then the kid, I mean, she sent me pictures and everything of like the whole thing. And that the kid was like, and I mean, who might have disrespect King George? So I took the rest of the day off. That's amazing. Yeah, isn't that so cool?
Starting point is 01:16:00 Turn that up, screw with Steve. Let's listen to George for a second. Pretty crappy audio. You got live for? I don't know. Live from Lucumbach. Maybe we're just on our headphones. But yeah, that's a pretty cool story, huh?
Starting point is 01:16:16 It's got to be weird, too, if you're pulling into somebody fancies. Yeah, there's like a gate. Like, if you pull, you're like, what's happening here? Am I at the right house? Yeah. And then the gates open, and you go in, and it's massive. And you're like, why would they be ordering Chipotle? Well, they eat too, you know.
Starting point is 01:16:32 I know, but they can just send somebody to go get it maybe or I don't know. I'm just, it's funny to me that it's like, oh, my door dashes here. What was the sports car too? Right, a Lambo. I know lunchbox needs a Lambo. George is driving that thing. For sure. She just, he just said, well, when I got there, I see an old man in a nice sports car park
Starting point is 01:16:53 next to me. He rolls down his window and says, oh, sorry about the weight. I'll take that. Take the day off and handed him $100. I love George and all, but who are you to tell him to take the day off? But, okay, we're forgetting. Why is he picking up DoorDash in a car? Well, I think maybe he got home and pulled up and was like, and maybe his wife was like,
Starting point is 01:17:13 hey, the food is here, I don't know. And did he have a mask on? I don't know. All good question. His big belt buckle? I don't, I think from what I was reading and what I could tell, because I even messaged a girl back, I said, is this for real? Or he just messing with me?
Starting point is 01:17:25 Because it sounds awesome because George is awesome, but I'm going to share this on air I need it to be legit. She goes, oh, no, it's totally legit. Oh, well, then it is. There you go. I was like, okay. But it all adds up, San Antonio. Sure.
Starting point is 01:17:37 Door dashings. People eat food. Yeah. It's nailed it. Oh, I love it. Mike D. Just looked it up and says George Wright has a Corvette, a Red Corvette. Right Corvette, yep.
Starting point is 01:17:50 Yeah. So that story that you just told. Now it has another layer of confirmation. Well, Amy was just defending it during this song. Yeah. She was like, no, the listener promised. We were like, okay. I know that means nothing.
Starting point is 01:18:02 I promise I got six fingers. I don't mean I got five here, you know? On my Instagram at Mr. Bobby Bones, I did list my favorite shows from last year. And I bring this up because I'm just curious if you guys watch anything during the break. At number five, I had Yellowstone, which was great. So good.
Starting point is 01:18:18 And I can't wait for next season because heck of a cliffhanger. Don't even want to tell you what happened in case you haven't got into Yellowstone yet. And I don't really like Westerns. It's a modern day. Yes. You don't have to convince me. Well, I mean, I did in the beginning. And I was like, you know what, I'm okay.
Starting point is 01:18:34 And I'm not a big Kevin Costner guy. Yeah, but on a horse you are. What? So anyway, I watched it because Caitlin and Amy and I loved it. So I put Yellowstone at 5, the Queen's Gambit at 4. Oh, it's so good. I read that guy, maybe as a guy or girl, whomever, had that show for like 30 years. The writer or whoever?
Starting point is 01:18:54 Yeah, because it might be from a book. And was pitching it the whole. Holt for over 30 years. Here you go. The Queen's Gambit has been viewed by 62 million people now. The producer, Alan Scott, was on BBC News talking about how it took 30 years with nine rewrites, and every studio he showed it to said no one would be interested in chess. Wow. That's the thing.
Starting point is 01:19:15 It's about chess, but not really. Not really. It's like Yellowstone. It's about all that stuff's there, but it's about the dynamics of people more than... Cowboys. It's a big part of it. But chess is a part, but the Queen's Gambit's great. And the fact that he stayed with it for 30 years.
Starting point is 01:19:30 It's amazing. Number three, I put the boys on Amazon. You like that one. Love it. If you like superheroes, but like it's like raw and gritty and kind of funny. I love the boys. The last dance, the docu series on the Chicago Bulls, fantastic. And at number one, by far, was Ted Lassow.
Starting point is 01:19:48 By far. This is a soccer movie? It's not a movie. It's a show on Apple Plus. It was by far. And I love sports. The Amy, you watched it too. Yes.
Starting point is 01:19:57 Ted Lassow. has my heart. Really? Yes, I laughed. I cried. I love them all. I can't wait for it to come back. It was so good.
Starting point is 01:20:07 And I'm glad she says that because Caitlin loved it too, but she's a sports fan too. But it's bigger than sports. Oh yeah, I'm not a sports fan at all. It's so much bigger than sports. Actually, I wasn't even expecting to like it. And I wasn't expecting all the different emotions that I felt throughout each episode. But it's so good. I'm going to tell you guys, I'm going to watch it.
Starting point is 01:20:28 But if it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn't watch it because the preview that they have is so dumb and it does nothing to sell the show at all. Well, like you guys are saying it's amazing. My brother's like, did you have to watch this? So I believe you guys. It's like I want, I learned so much from Ted. Would it be? Yeah, you're right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:45 You're a better person when you finish watching it. Have you, is it one of your favorites of the year? Yes, it is my favorite. It's number one for you too. And I was with my pastor the other night and I said something to him about it. And it's his too. Yeah, he already said he's like, I know I watched it at the end of the year, but it is my favorite show of the year. And he's very like, I trust his humor.
Starting point is 01:21:06 Like, everybody seems to love it. Eddie, I think you're going to really appreciate him. Do you have Apple? No, but I've been offered Apple Plus. Is this like want to raise things or a listener? Kind of not a listener, a family member. Oh, my. Watch three episodes of Ted Lasso.
Starting point is 01:21:20 How many are there total? Eight, nine. Okay. So three is the way. They're 30 minutes. Okay. After you watch three, let me, I'll check back in with you. You got it.
Starting point is 01:21:28 But that's my favorite show that you're Ted Lassa. Can you buy it on iTunes, Mike, individually? I think it's the Apple. You think it at Apple TV? Yep. That stinks because all these services, man. They're adding up. I know.
Starting point is 01:21:39 I had to get HBO Max or whatever to watch the flight attendant. Oh, I'll watch that. I put that at number nine because it's good. I'm not done yet, so. It's good. I'm only on episode three. I've watched some really great shows lately. The undoing.
Starting point is 01:21:54 I watched Ted Lassow. Oh, the undoing, yeah. That was good. That was with Nicole Kidman. Did you watch it? No, I've not watched it. Oh, come on. But I have the flight attendant on there too.
Starting point is 01:22:04 It's pretty good. Speaking of cable, so tell me if this is shady or not. I get a call on Saturday at like 8 a.m. And I'm like, who's calling me? I'm saying, hello. And he's like, hey, you're at your house. You ordered a new internet. I'm like, I didn't order anything.
Starting point is 01:22:21 So I walk outside and they're in a completely unmarked vehicle. And I'm like, hey, come on in. No. No. So I did. I'm half asleep. So they come in and he's like, yeah, I got to order, you ordered internet? And I'm like, we have internet.
Starting point is 01:22:35 And it says here, I said, can I go into that room? And I'm like, yeah, sure. So I set it up. He leaves. I have two internets now. And you never ordered it? I didn't order crap. Did y'all double check the address?
Starting point is 01:22:47 Like, what if it was the neighbor that's supposed to get the internet? Like, I got a bunch of my neighbor's packages over the break. Either the delivery guy who's totally lazy or there's just, you know, sometimes they get confused. Maybe you got gifted internet by someone. What? I don't know what it is, but right now I got two internet. And so, I don't know if it was...
Starting point is 01:23:06 Or they set up spyware all over the place or something. Well, it's covered in duct tape, so I don't know. No, it's not. But that was a whole weird thing there. That happened. What did I tease? Oh, what were we going to talk about what we saw over the break? I kind of gave you mine.
Starting point is 01:23:23 Oh, yeah. For the most part, I watched a lot of college football. which is great to be home. I never can be home and watch that much college football. Eddie, you watch Soul. Yes, it's on Disney Plus, Amy, and Soul. And it's an animation. It's Pixar Disney.
Starting point is 01:23:37 And guys, I'm going to tell you right now, this is the best Pixar movie ever. And I love Coco, because I had to ask my son, is like, is Coco a Pixar movie? He's like, yep. I'm like, oh, it's so close. But I'm going to go with Soul over Coco. It is so good.
Starting point is 01:23:52 Why? I'm shocked to hear this because you say Coco's your story. I get it. get it but this guy he's like a he's like a jazz piano teacher don't ruin it i'm not for middle school students and he finally he's been wanting to be that jazz player that famous jazz player and do it for his life he thinks that that's his calling to be a jazz player well he dies early in the movie he dies his soul goes somewhere and then he's trying to find his way back to get back to earth because he just got the gig of his life guys this movie is so good i give it five saxophones out of five
Starting point is 01:24:26 Yeah, it's so, so good, and it'll make you cry, it'll make you laugh, the music is amazing. Well, Caitlin and I like it, just us too watching. You two will love it. Guys, it's not for kids. This one is for adults. But it is also. Sure, but the kids are like, yeah, it's kind of fun. No, adults are like, this is so good.
Starting point is 01:24:43 Mike, we call him Movie Mike. Yeah. Do you watch it? Yeah. Okay, Mike, come on. Okay, it's a great movie. Mike's like, three out of five. No, I would give it a 4.5 out of five, but I don't think it's the best Pixar movie.
Starting point is 01:24:54 I think a little overhype on that. All right. 4.5 out of 5 though, that's pretty good. Yeah, it's just tough to follow your lead there. What, to say it's the best Pixar? But I mean, the Pixar movie is what? There's 15 total? There's like 23.
Starting point is 01:25:06 Okay, whatever. This is the best one. 23. Movie mic. I just looked it up. Okay, I thought you knew that from your... Pull it from your pocket. You watch anything, Amy, over the break?
Starting point is 01:25:14 Just what we talked about, Ted Lassow and the flight attendant. But Ted Lassow, I give that five footballs out of five... Soccer balls, footballs. Yeah, I mean, it's just so great. We watched another episode of Succession. Is it back? Oh, no, you're still on the... Oh my gosh, you're just milking that thing.
Starting point is 01:25:31 HBO? I don't know what that channel is on. It's on HBO. I push a button around and go, Succession, and it pulls up. Because I got one of those boop remotes from Xfinity or whatever. You can talk to it.
Starting point is 01:25:42 And then I watched the first 10 minutes of Outlander. Oh, I've heard of it. Yeah. It got good reviews, but they talk in foreign accents. And I was like, I'm out. And Caitlin's like... But it's English. So the accent or is the different language?
Starting point is 01:25:57 No, it's same language. I think she travels back in time. And I love time travel. Yeah. And maybe some of you fans of this show that listen to this show will go like, you should stick in there. But we were just like... That's what she said.
Starting point is 01:26:11 Oh, okay. All right, that's it. You can be serious. Gabby Barrett, I hope. I started the office on the peacock, didn't you? I did. I did. I did.
Starting point is 01:26:21 And it's great. I tell you why. Because the outtakes. I tell you why. They do, they have outtakes on their. they have they have extra long episodes
Starting point is 01:26:28 of deleted scenes they have it's great yeah it is great I didn't think it would be but it's great I did see a clip online of them singing like
Starting point is 01:26:35 Tiny Danzer on a bus did you see that? Yeah that's pretty funny yeah all right lunchbox did you watch anything good
Starting point is 01:26:41 I watched something that was terrible it's called the dressmaker it's a movie my mom wanted to watch it and so I was like all right mom I'll sit down it was awful
Starting point is 01:26:49 awful awful I'll give it half a dress out of five I don't even know what you watch it on it was terrible but a good one is called Logan Lucky.
Starting point is 01:26:57 It's with Channing Tatum and he's a poor dude and he robbed something and it's all family, bad luck. Really good. I give it three and a half robberies out of five. Oh, there you go. Oh, wait, wait, one more. One more. The Old Guard with Charlize
Starting point is 01:27:12 Dheron. Guys, it is a superhero movie but they don't have superpowers where they can fly and all this and it is awesome. Action packed. Four immortals out of five. watch that Mike D? Yeah, they're immortal. You like it? Yeah, it's pretty good. The old guard.
Starting point is 01:27:28 Yeah. I like it. Came out last year. Yeah, you would like it. Every movie I watched it had Mike up. I liked it. I mean, he's seen them all. But he also knows what I like. You would like that one. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Yeah, home there's something good. So there's a family in Tennessee. There's five of them.
Starting point is 01:27:46 And the parents were sleeping and they smelled smoke in the middle of the night. So they're like, oh my gosh. The dad wakes up. He opens the door. The house is engulfed. I mean, there's flames everywhere. So he reacts quickly. He gets two of his kids. One is two years old. The other one is seven years old. But there's a 22-month-old in another room that he cannot get to. He tried the bedroom door. They're smoke in the way. So they said there's nothing we can do. So they all got out of the house. They're thinking, oh my gosh, we cannot get our 22-month old out. They left it in there? So they got all the kids out. The dad goes to the bedroom, but it's just a little higher than his head and he has nothing
Starting point is 01:28:18 to step on. So he's freaking out. He gets the seven-year-old. He says, hey, get on my shoulders, see if you can get through that window and grab your sister. And he did. Eli, is a seven-year-old, he grabbed his little sister, got her out safely, and everyone was unharmed. I don't know why I started to worry about the kid. This is tell me something good. My instinct kicked in and I was like, oh my God, they didn't wait on the baby?
Starting point is 01:28:39 Yeah, bomb bones. But it's okay. Everybody else survived. And he's like, in first, tell me something good history, it didn't end up good. Back to you, Bobby. I wouldn't do that. Yeah, it's a new year. I'm totally not on my game. I was like, well, he didn't go in? So, yeah, Eli's the hero. That's a boy.
Starting point is 01:28:55 That's a good story. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobby's Big. Story. A mom-to-be got a little more than expected after it was revealed that she conceived a third child a little over a week after she was learning she was pregnant with twins.
Starting point is 01:32:56 It's a rare case of superfitation. Superfetatia. I think that's the word. When a separate egg is fertilized by sperm in the womb days or weeks after a pregnancy has already occurred. The TikTok star, obviously. Of course. She somehow managed Yeah, demanded to do this for TikTok. Known as at the blonde bunny one
Starting point is 01:33:19 has over 235,000 followers, but she has an extra baby coming now. Wow. Like a bunny. Lots of babies in there. But at different times, like a bunny, they still probably all got the same,
Starting point is 01:33:30 pregnant at the same time. I know. I thought you're going to tell me she had two uteruses, or uteri. No. Does that make my story less cool? Less crazy?
Starting point is 01:33:40 No, it makes it more crazy. I think I've heard before sometimes women can have two uterus and then they get pregnant in there at the same time. But that is crazy. Yours is more crazy. I was talking to Caitlin. I'd like to have twins.
Starting point is 01:33:51 You know, in her family, they've had twins pretty much every generation except for her parents. Oh, so it's time now. Like, let's go. And then let's just wrap it up when we're done with that. Be done with it. She was like, do you know how big I will get with twins? And I was like, but do you know that we'll be done? And she goes, Will?
Starting point is 01:34:10 How many babies do you carry in? No, no, you both are having the baby. You're right about that. I agree. Okay. it's very different to be the one that's pregnant. I am jealous of her. I said, are you going to be, we are pregnant guy?
Starting point is 01:34:24 No. Oh, you're not? No, I'm not. I thought you were. But I, first of all, I don't know. I haven't been pregnant yet. And she's not pregnant right now, by the way. We're supposed to get married in the early summer.
Starting point is 01:34:35 There's no pregnancy. So let's not have those rumors start. But no, and I'm jealous that she gets to bond with the baby for nine months. And I told her that. And she was like, you only say that because she don't have. to have the babies. But I've said that for years. It's sweet of you. Thank you. It is very sweet of me.
Starting point is 01:34:53 Let's do some more news. Here we go. Bobby's other story. A green county woman faces an attempted murder first degree charge after police say she was recorded on tape talking about poisoning her husband. Listen to this. Tina Glasgow, 56 of Paraguol, was arrested after the investigation. According to the affidavit, she tried to kill her husband with eyedrops. Poisoned eye drops Vizine
Starting point is 01:35:18 Crazy Should put it in his coffee and stuff Like dripped Like tiny drip drops Yeah I think slowly over time Her goal was to deteriorate his health Officers collected an audio recording For her making statements about poisoning her husband
Starting point is 01:35:34 With vizine eye drops For the purpose of cause serious physical injury and death In the recording She stated she's been putting a large amount of vizine drops In her husband's coffee for over four days By the way if you're doing this Why are you talking about it to anybody? Like that sounds
Starting point is 01:35:47 What did you come out of my mouth? I've heard that the vizine just keeps you. Yeah. Yeah, no, I've heard that too. But why do y'all know that? I don't know. I have no idea. Maybe it was a fun fact Friday one time.
Starting point is 01:35:58 You forgot it. True. Let's do one more news story. Bobby's other story. We'll talk college football for a second. Alabama advances to the title game. Here's a clip. Design roll to the right on first and goal,
Starting point is 01:36:12 and he throws to the pylon, and it is God for another touchdown by Devante Smith. Which he'll probably win the Heisman. Alabama defeated Notre Dame 31 to 14 to advance the college football title game against Ohio State. Ohio State wins two, and here's a clip of that. Watch us downfield. It's Olave. We're going to add to it.
Starting point is 01:36:39 Fields down the field. There you go. And TV ratings will be through the roof. This is the game that networks wanted. It would be a good game. There you go. That's the news. Bobby's Big.
Starting point is 01:36:55 Story. We got a new puppy. The puppy's name is Eller from the musical Oklahoma, Aunt Ellar. Lauren Elena got a new puppy named Opry. And so you can hear about that. Go listen to Caroline Hobbies podcast
Starting point is 01:37:08 called Get Real with Caroline Hobby. She has Lauren on. They talk about Opry. And they also talk about her struggles with fame. Imagine being 16, like Lauren noise. And she talks about all the cruel attacks that people made on her and her body. So Lauren's always a fun guest.
Starting point is 01:37:22 So check out Get Real with Caroline Hobby and hear that. Blake Shelton got a little trouble too. Did you guys see this? Oh, yeah. I'll talk about it in the next segment. What do you do? It wasn't so much what he did. I'll talk about it in the next segment.
Starting point is 01:37:35 I am curious to see your thoughts on this. Why? And like if anybody thought, I don't know that I would have thought anything of it. But then once you do, well, I probably went too deep into comments, like reading how many people were like had this opinion. So I'm curious to which side do you. fall on. Me too, actually. Now. You don't know yet. Well, I did, but now I shouldn't think that. We'll get in a second.
Starting point is 01:37:57 Maya is on the phone. Maya, welcome to the Bobby Bone show. How are you, Maya? Morning, studio. Morning. That is so awesome. I'm calling from Springfield, and I know probably everybody says this, but I really think I'm one of
Starting point is 01:38:14 your guys' biggest fan. Oh, well, thank you. Yeah. And not everybody He says that. Oh, yeah, nobody really says that. Yeah, so it's fine. You probably are. A year ago, I did all of the things big kids are supposed to do, and I got married, and I moved
Starting point is 01:38:32 out, and then my husband got taken away by the military to go off places, and I lost my mom. So all of that happened at once, and I was all alone, and I really leaned into you guys, and it just means so much to get to hear you guys, and I've really moved. missed you our break, but I'm so glad you guys are back. Wow. Well, you are our biggest fan. I don't even, I'm just kidding. We thought you were kidding, but that means
Starting point is 01:38:59 trying to make a joke. That means a lot to us that you would actually, you know, consider our presence and friendship something significant in your life, so thank you. No problem, but I called because I wanted to know what your guys' favorite parts of your break were. Oh, well, that's, Eddie, you want to go first? Sure. Yeah, my
Starting point is 01:39:18 was just being in the country. I went to my father-in-law's ranch and he's got like 77 acres. I got to shoot guns. I got to fish. I got to just walk around in nature. Loved it. Amy? Mine was just being as present as possible with family.
Starting point is 01:39:32 I've never, I took a very long social media break, which I haven't ever done that for that long before. Stinks, huh? I hate it. No. I miss it. It was really awesome to just not just be totally present where I was.
Starting point is 01:39:45 What about you? I love sleeping. Not sleeping in, but I love sleeping until like 10 a.m. 11 a.m. Because I've been up till 3 or 4. Yeah. Like my natural body goes to bed at 3 or 4. So Caleb will go to sleep at like 8.30 or 9. And I'm out for like 5 hours.
Starting point is 01:40:04 Playing video games? No, I've played in the daytime a little bit. I got a PS5, which I'm super pumped about. But no, I was reading, studying for this truck exam, watching the office on Peacock, you know? Yeah, yeah. A lot of dumb things. You know, the other day she's like, I saw the sun come up.
Starting point is 01:40:23 Her and Bobby watching the sun come up. But I can't get mad at her because, or she, I try, I'm like, hey, I try to encourage her to go to bed, but she's 13 and she just tells me over and over, no, this is how my body was made. Me too. I'm not a morning person. As I say that, I'm here we are, butt crack at dawn every day doing this show and I'm very grateful for it. But this is not my end game. My end game is to do a couple hour show, possibly a podcast. And sleep till 11 and just load it up.
Starting point is 01:40:53 Yeah. So, and then, you know, we went and I had, we had Christmas at Caitlin's parents' house, which I've never really had a Christmas, like a normal family Christmas before. I mean, not since I was seven or eight, and how normal was that? So it was abnormal to have a quote unquote normal Christmas Eve Christmas Day. Yeah. Does that make sense? Yes.
Starting point is 01:41:15 And how did it feel? Weird but good. I'm just not used to having family. I'm, listen, the last 10 or 15 Christmas been by myself for the most part, you know? So it was weird to not feel sorry for myself on Christmas Day because I didn't.
Starting point is 01:41:30 It was great. We played basketball in the Ford Gibson Gym. We got to keep, went up to play basketball. That's cool. I mean, there's nobody up there. There's just us in the house, but it was just fantastic. Yeah, and then
Starting point is 01:41:42 I was looking forward to coming back to work today too. I just don't like the waking up part. Let me ask our listeners a question. Would you guys care if we just record this at like 8 p.m. and then loaded it up the next morning. I've had it. We're waking up. I think a lot of our listeners have to.
Starting point is 01:41:58 We just had it in the morning. We've had it with what cultures told us is the right time to start work. We've had it. Well, think about it. You've been waking up since you were... 22. Yeah, that's a long time. At 3.34 o'clock in the morning. Lunchbox, best part of the break. Oh, that would be, you know, the in-laws,
Starting point is 01:42:13 you go to their house and they take care of the kids, basically, like, they're so excited in the grandma and grandpa, so they change. all the diapers. You just sit there and watch TV. Oh, kids got a poopie diaper. D.D. Get in here and change that. Awesome. I assume D.D. is a real person. Dede's what, well, I call him grandma and grandpa, but she likes to go by Dedy because she thinks grandma sounds old. So yes, my mother-in-law goes by Dedy and grandpa goes by granddaddy. So yeah, they change all the diapers. They feed the kids. So you sit there, watch TV and you don't have to deal with anything. It is awesome.
Starting point is 01:42:43 I did watch a lot of college football. And I did, we have legal sports gambling now here. And I did bet on a lot of games. That is fantastic. I don't normally get to do that on the weekends. So, all right, that's it. Thank you for the call. Maya, hope you have a great week and a happy new year. Yeah, thank you guys so much for taking my call. It means a lot. Of course. I'm going to say, hey, let's keep her on hold. Maya, I don't know what I have here. Maybe we'll send you some Pimp and Joy stuff. Oh, yeah, we can do that. And then I'll sign a book for you if you want that. I'll send you a copy of that too, okay?
Starting point is 01:43:12 That would be amazing. All right. Thank you for your call. Hopefully we'll talk to you soon. Thank you. All right. Don't hang up on her. Okay, here's the Blake Shelton story we're talking about. Blake Shelton is facing backlash for debuting a song titled Minimum Wage while people in America continue to struggle amid the coronavirus pandemic. Now, I'm reading this before I give you my opinion. Blake Shelton debuted the new single on NBC's New Year's Eve television special.
Starting point is 01:43:40 The country singer told the host that his fiancee helped get her brother Todd to direct a video. The Lion Girl, Your Love Can Make a Man, feel rich on minimum wage. Here's a clip. Don't have that. We do not have the clip. We have a whole story here on the page that I told them about it. We don't have a clip for it.
Starting point is 01:44:01 No idea you're going to talk about it. Okay, we'll come back to it in a minute. And we're back from the new year, everybody. We do not have our shirt buttoned up at all. So my old dancing partner on Dancing with the Stars, Sharna Burgess, I haven't talked to her in a couple of months. And then even then it's been like, hey, let's catch you up. Life gets busy.
Starting point is 01:44:21 She's not even a redhead anymore, right? I think she's kind of redheaded again. I'm not sure. Okay. I don't know. So apparently she's now dating and went on a Hawaiian or a tropical trip with Brian Austin Green. Oh, wow. Is that 90210?
Starting point is 01:44:35 Yes. The DJ. Brian Austin Green, 47 years old. Hey, hey, he was married to Megan Fox. Wow. Okay, okay. I'm following now. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:45 See? It's a big deal. Yeah. Brian Austin Green and Sharnabirda. 35 were first linked on Christmas Day when they were spotted at LAX Airport together. Once they arrived at the destination, they shared Instagram posts featuring the same backdrops. It's like a subtle way of saying we're together, but we're not really saying we're together. People are asking me, I don't know anything about this.
Starting point is 01:45:06 Yeah, well, I read a few things. Go ahead. They're definitely dating. Good for them. Yeah. I'm curious, though, how did they meet? Well, and I'm telling you. Because she's alluded to that she finally met someone and that she's,
Starting point is 01:45:19 how she feels about them, blah, blah, and then he's also eluded, and then, yeah, it's them. They're together. How, what was your little theory there? What do you mean? What'd you read about them? Just that they took a vacation together, they were spotted together,
Starting point is 01:45:35 and that she had been hinting to her fans for a while that she had met somebody. So clearly she was spending time with someone, they just didn't know exactly who it was. And now we know it's Brian Austin Green. But is it as blunt as, like, Sharnas with Brian? and Austin Green and that's confirmed? I don't think anything's confirmed.
Starting point is 01:45:53 Okay. Oh, is it not? They haven't posted anything together. Okay, well, I write several articles, so clearly it's true. Amy, put the puzzle together. Well, I think that's how you have to do. All right, even though we don't have a clip, let me give you my thoughts on this Blake Shelton song. Okay.
Starting point is 01:46:07 It's supposedly coming out as a real song produced in a couple of weeks. He played it on a TV show. We don't have a clip of the TV show. But the line is, you make me feel. feel rich even though I'm on minimum wage. Everybody needs to relax. They need to... People are a little too woke these days.
Starting point is 01:46:29 It's a song lyric. It's not literal. And listen, I lived on minimum wage and below minimum wage a lot of my life. And all he means is, hey, you make a guy feel good that doesn't normally feel good. That's all he means.
Starting point is 01:46:45 I'm looking at the comments now and they're just ripping Blake. these are probably also people who don't know Blake or country music. They just see him as this multi-millionaire who's singing about minimum wage. But that doesn't matter. I know. I get it. All songs are, I think Keith Urban's song the other day, he was singing about drinking. And I was like, you don't drink.
Starting point is 01:47:07 But, but, you know, like, it's a song. It's still a really good song. Or people, it doesn't have to match your exact lifestyle. Like, you can only sing about minimum wage if you make it. Well, and then people are like, no, it's tone deaf. because of the situation. I think that's even more of what people are saying. But he's not literally talking about money.
Starting point is 01:47:23 Right. He's talking about, hey, normally I don't feel great. But with you, I feel wonderful. And it's basically a metaphor for that. Yeah. People say I feel like a million bucks all the time. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Don't do that.
Starting point is 01:47:36 That's not good. Don't say that, Eddie. Lots of millions of bucks isn't happening right now. Yeah, so I will come and say I think people are a little too but hurt for no reason right now. There you go. That's my opinion. Starting point is 01:51:46 One of them, which we talked about earlier, Seoul, he gave 4.5 out of five jazz bands. That's one of his top five, huh? Yep. Check out Movie Mike's movie podcast today after our show. Go back and listen to this podcast. We were sitting here a second ago, and Eddie pulls up his work email account. And there was an email that said what? It said, Happy Holidays, Eddie.
Starting point is 01:52:06 IHeart Media has sent you a holiday gift in the amount of $100. simply click the link below and redeem a digital or physical American Express reward card. I mean, it's that simple, guys, and the link is right there. Who's it from? Incom incentives.
Starting point is 01:52:26 But it says it's from work? I mean, the email says... But it says, IHeartMedia is sending it to you? That's what the subject says. Amy, go look at it, see if you would click it. Amy just ripped her headphones off her head. Oh, Mike got one too. It says, Mike got one too
Starting point is 01:52:43 So if I click it, he clicks it It said, IHartMedia sent you a holiday gift In the amount of $100 There's an asterisk Beside the $100. There's no cash value And it's only redeemable On the website listed
Starting point is 01:52:54 I mean Oh, okay That looks legit to me, I'd click it But how do they, Surely they got that donated From somewhere Because how do they have $100 just email out to everybody? We think this is real or no?
Starting point is 01:53:08 No, it's scat. We just took like a 30-minute, hour-long course on don't click on random email. Maybe this is a test. Did you see? Do you see who was doing a test? I think it was a company. And they said, okay, click this here for your bonus, for your Christmas bonus. And I think it was GoDaddy.
Starting point is 01:53:28 And then people clicked it. And they were like, no, you failed the test. Now you have to do extra work. I bet you that's what this is. I bet you that's exactly what this is. Did anyone on this show get this and click it? Speak now or forever hold your peace. I got it.
Starting point is 01:53:43 Scova Steve? It's legit because they sent a follow-up, our previous email two, three weeks ago, saying from Bob and Rich, saying we're all going to give you guys $100 gift cards. We appreciate your hard work, and it was a really tough time with the quarantine. So you'll expect an email coming in a couple days.
Starting point is 01:53:57 Got it, clicked it, and I've already used it. What? Oh, okay. Well, there we go. Wow. Okay, so it's real. Lunchbox didn't get one. See, how are we not talking about this?
Starting point is 01:54:07 You wouldn't know. Wow. It looks like it could be fake, though, doesn't it? It does. Click it, Eddie. No. Yeah, just click it. You sure?
Starting point is 01:54:14 Yeah. Click it. Okay, here we go. I'm going to click it. 100 bucks. What is this? Click it. Hold on, boom.
Starting point is 01:54:22 Before I click it, not too late. Just clicked it. Yeah, the CEO sent a letter. I didn't, I should have read this letter. So we're going to send you guys a $100 gift card. Oh, yeah. Bob and Rich. $100 American Express gift card.
Starting point is 01:54:31 We hope you can use to support local merchants who are part of the backbone of our community and economy. Hey, look at this. Now, oh, yeah. This is great. Hey, can you reply to them and let them know I didn't get it? Sorry, Lunchbox. It says no reply.
Starting point is 01:54:43 Eddie's whistling a different tune over there now. Oh, what a beautiful morning. So now I have to log in to my phone. Which I don't typically log into. I don't either. Work email is like one level below Facebook or just angry people and junk mail. How do I even get there anymore? I don't even know.
Starting point is 01:55:00 What, to your work email? Yeah, they made it kind of more difficult. Google free $100 gift card and whatever they put up there. Click it. Okay. Lunchbox said he had the worst Christmas he's ever had. Is that true? Oh, absolutely worst Christmas of my lifetime.
Starting point is 01:55:11 I am 39 years old. This one will go down in history. So I spin it with my in-laws and we all gather around the Christmas tree on Christmas morning. We start handing out presents and we open presents for however long it takes. And I did not get a single present from my in-laws or my brother-in-law or my sister-in-law. I opened zero gifts on Christmas and it absolutely sucks. Like, I mean, listen, I kept sitting there patiently going, okay, okay, they're just being funny.
Starting point is 01:55:44 No package, no present for me. Okay, here's one for the kid. Here's one for my sister-in-law. Here's one for my brother-in-law. And I got zero. How did I get zero presents? Like, they just forgot to buy me something and they had to like it was, they just didn't even say anything. My wife got four or five presents.
Starting point is 01:56:01 I got nothing. Ridiculous. Your thoughts? It's interesting because, I mean, they got. Their daughter something, usually, I mean. They got their son something. They got their other daughter something, but they got me nothing. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:56:16 So, I mean, it's weird that they don't give you the son-in-law a gift. I mean, I usually get a gift from my in-law. Did you? Yeah, of course. Not a big gift, but I mean, I get gifts every year. So it's, I don't know, maybe it's been a naughty dude. I got pretty good gift from my about to be in-laws. They gave me a travel golf club hard shell.
Starting point is 01:56:37 Nice. Yeah. Very nice. Fantastic. To open gifts on Christmas morning, I never got, I never do that. Never did that. As a kid, again, maybe when I was eight years old. But even I got them. Like sit around the tree.
Starting point is 01:56:49 Yeah. And they're not even my real in-laws yet. Amy, do your in-laws give you? Yeah. Well, in our family, we draw names, so it's a little bit different. But they would totally, for my birthday, other things, for sure. Like, that's, it's interesting. Oh, it's not interesting.
Starting point is 01:57:05 It's not fun. Isn't this the first Christmas though with the new baby? Yeah, but still, they got this. Shouldn't that be like the best Christmas ever because your whole family's there? No, they got the new baby things. The new baby doesn't know what anything is. The new baby doesn't know who got him anything.
Starting point is 01:57:19 I mean, he's 10 months old. He doesn't even know how to open presents. Quickly, do you think that the gift for your wife was a gift for both of you? Could it have been a joint? Mitten's in a hat are for both of us. Yes, I can wear her mittens in her hat and her jacket that she got. I can't wear any of her clothes. No, it wasn't for both of us.
Starting point is 01:57:40 And I mean, I bought them presents. I bought my brother-in-law a present. Okay, okay, okay. We're sorry. And I don't want to hear about you guys getting presents. That makes it even worse. Thanks, guys. Well, I didn't expect any presents.
Starting point is 01:57:53 Well, I didn't. I got nothing. Merry Christmas. Did you ask them? No, I just sat there. I was furious. And I told my wife, they're like, I'm sorry. They probably just forgot.
Starting point is 01:58:05 And I'm like, no, they didn't forget. They didn't on purpose. I didn't ever get. Do they dislike you? Yeah. No, they like, I mean, I think they like me. I mean, I'm getting, I thought your mother-in-law, like, likes you. I mean, she probably, she does. I mean, and I don't flirt with you at Christmas? Oh, man, I didn't want to say anything, but we had two instances. We had two instances. Go ahead. So, I mean, one time I was sitting on the recliner and I'm kind of laid back and I kind of was taking a little nap in the recliner. and she came out of the bathroom and she, you know, kind of rubbed my head and goes, oh, are you tired?
Starting point is 01:58:40 And she, like, rub the top of my head. And I was like, whoa, what? And then she kept on walking, went back and sat down on the couch. And I was like, okay, whatever. Maybe that was just an accident. And so then I was in the kitchen and there was like, I don't know, sticky wrap or whatever. And at the end of the roll, so it had a big, you know, the cardboard thing that's
Starting point is 01:58:59 inside the roller. And I was like, man, this kind of hurts. Like, it was real solid cardboard. it'd be a good spanker, wouldn't it? And she started hitting me with it. And I was like, are you trying to flirt right now? Are you trying to make me be naughty or something? Like, because she was spanking me with it.
Starting point is 01:59:15 So. Maybe that was your gift. So, yeah, we had a little flirting in since I wasn't going to bring it up, but since you guys brought it up, there it is, twice. So you tell me that was an accident. Your mother-in-law spanked you at Christmas. She said, what do you think her end game? was. Man, she was hoping. I'd be like, oh, do it again, do it again. Or I don't know what her in-game was. But she rubbed my scalp, first of all. That happened
Starting point is 01:59:41 first. The spanking happened second. So, I don't know. It was, yeah. Do you tell your wife? No, I didn't tell my wife. I don't want to get jealous. You know, you don't want to create that friction in the family. Are you attracted to her mom? No, no, I'm not attracted to her mom. No, no, I'm good. Like, she's a little too old for me. You know, but I'm telling you. Otherwise. Yeah, she's digging me.
Starting point is 02:00:10 Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Amy, what's going on today? My in-laws are still here, so something with them, I think. Are they about to leave? I don't know yet. Yeah. Yes.
Starting point is 02:00:24 Yeah. It's oven the air. What about you? Uh-oh. I got to go drive an hour to take this CDL test again. Good luck. The general knowledge, 50 questions, I'll get. I feel pretty good about it.
Starting point is 02:00:40 Last night, again, I was up pretty late taking, I looked at it and I took all the tests, the exact amount I need to take for today. No help, just took it. 50 questions, I got a 96% on the general knowledge, which is the biggest part. Good work. Then I did, you have to do 25 questions on air brakes,
Starting point is 02:01:02 and I got a 92%. on air brakes. Yes, and then it takes 80% to pass all these. Then I took one on combination vehicles, which is the third test. I made an 82. Oh.
Starting point is 02:01:11 I'm one question away from failing. Uh-oh. That's risky, man. And there's a whole TV crew waiting for me right now in Chattanooga. You got this. Don't worry about you.
Starting point is 02:01:22 So if I don't hit, they just pack up and fly back to California. Oh, there's no pressure. It'll just be a part of your story. Remember that time that you had the whole TV crew waiting for you and you failed that time? And I failed. See?
Starting point is 02:01:32 No, that one has. Yeah. That's what I'm doing. Fail until you don't. No, I just fail in. You can't fail this one though. Don't forget Friday show. Morgan Wallin is in to perform live.
