Starting point is 00:02:55 Poor me. Pour me another round You like that one, huh? Yeah, I do. Welcome to the after the show on Wednesday. Eddie ended up bailing out today because his eyeball got super swollen. You'll hear from him later,
Starting point is 00:03:10 but I don't know what's up. If that's an allergy from his eye being that big, that's like a super allergy. I have allergies and I go, ugh, ugh. Yeah, that's like another level. It's like the guy on hitch. It looks like a cyclops. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Because just his eyeball Swole up Let me say a couple things Last two days or so We didn't do post-show pre-shows Because I was in California And as soon as show was over I had to go shoot
Starting point is 00:03:37 Most of those days Will be over now I have There'll be a couple more We don't get to do this Coming up Because I have one more week Of American Idol
Starting point is 00:03:44 And then I'm done Which is super exciting I'm also pumped That I've been on the show And they've been awesome But like I've mentioned This flights are hurtful Yeah
Starting point is 00:03:53 I don't know how you do it Every week Well, it's not even the flights, I guess. I'm never on a clock. I go Pacific time, East Coast time, Central time. So I'm always off a bit. So I'm asleep, which isn't good anyway, is always messed up. But, yeah, I'm pretty excited.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I got one more week to go. And then we'll see what happens next year. Next season. Yeah, when does next season start? Well, the next season starts next year. Oh. Like in January, February, but we'd start taping again in the fall. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Because you do all the audition. But the finals is Friday. watches it. Oh, so this Sunday. Mm-hmm. That in the Game of Thrones finale, which nobody else watches the show here but me. And you guys... I know. We can't talk to you about it. Are you a bit jealous that you don't watch it and you can't take part in, like, the hysteria?
Starting point is 00:04:35 No, I'm fine. I've gotten used to it. And then I just can't... It's too much to try to catch up. I know. We were with... I was staying at our friend's house on Sunday night and she's, like, obsessed with it. And she actually put off watching it because she knew we weren't into it. Well, you have to block Twitter, too. Mm-hmm. And she did. She was, she had to six... She was like, once she did watch it, she was like successfully avoided anything on Twitter so that I could sit down and watch it. So I want to be excited about something like that.
Starting point is 00:05:01 I get jealous when people are that excited about something. So I want something like that. It doesn't have to be Game of Thrones. But what is that? I need that in my life. What did you watch last night? The America. American, American.
Starting point is 00:05:13 All America. Oh, that show on Netflix. Yes. All America. And I thought it was a Netflix original, but I guess it's on the CW. Oh, so it's on Netflix, but it's a CW show. Yes. And it's new to me and my husband.
Starting point is 00:05:23 but we've given it enough episodes to where I feel like I can review it, and I'm embarrassed to say, I love it. It's a high school football show. Not like Friday Night Lights, though. And it's awkward. There's a lot of, like, making out and stuff, and they're in high school. My husband and I, like, we feel creepy. We feel totally creepy.
Starting point is 00:05:41 I'm like, fast-forward it. Like, I don't want to see these kids in high school making out, even though I'm sure the actors are older, but still, they're playing high schoolers. And I'm like, is this really happening in high schools? I feel old, which I know that's probably how my mom felt when I was watching 9-0-210 or something. She probably did not want me watching that, but we did anyway. I finished up watching the first season of Tales from the Tour Bus, which is all about old-school country music artists. And it's like the history of them, but they're animated.
Starting point is 00:06:12 And it's actually people talking, but they just draw cartoons talking for them. It's really good. I watched the Billy Joe Shaver one last night and finished it up there. A lot of Texas country people popping in out of that show. So, because my judge is from Texas, the guy who did Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill. Oh, okay. And so I finished watching that was really good. I watched the NBA draft, the lottery draw last night.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Is that good? Well, you would think it was the stupidest thing because literally, and I watch it up like 45 minutes. All you're watching is to see who gets the first pick in the draft. That's it. It's not even the draft. They have ping pong balls. They don't even show the ping ball balls anymore. Guy just walks out with stacks of cards and goes, all right, the 13th pick, goes two.
Starting point is 00:06:51 and, you know, he goes, the Boston Celtics. The 12th pick goes to, and then it counts all the way back up. First pick, all right, that's the whole show. Sounds awesome. I mean, I was dialed in, but it's funny at what we watch. It's live, too. That's all television is going to be in the next 10 years or live events. Live.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Because, again, what do we watch live? Almost nothing unless it's something like that. Like, I had appointments sat that show because it was live. Had it not, I would have never watched it. I'd just go to Twitter. I'm going to be honest when you first mentioned, I was like, is that a new documentary? The draft live.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Whatever you said you watched about the NBA draft. There's, are you, they say most people are either, speaking of television, a friends fan, a Seinfeld fan, or an office fan. And it's one of the three. Are you a friends person, a Seinfeld person or an office person? Friends. I'm an office person. Right. I'm new to the office, so I can't pick that.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I was a friend's person, but the office is overtaking it for me as to what comes on in the background. Lunchbox, are you friends Seinfeld or the office? Seinfeld. So we have one of each. Wow. Yeah. Morgan number two, what would you be? Oh, definitely, friends.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Mm-hmm. I was watching Friends last night. Something's wrong by Netflix, where it plays like one episode of the office and it shuts down. Oh, it's tired. It's tired of it. Maybe. It's like, Bobby. I can't do the office anymore.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Calm down. And then I put her over to TV Land and I watched some friends last night. I don't remember what I wanted. Oh, you know what's on TV Land that's so good and it's coming back soon? Is it younger? Younger. My friend's got a role on it. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:08:20 What role? Like on the, what? I love that show. Like, me and two of my girlfriends are, like, obsessive that we're planning, like, a watch party for the premiere. And I started following Hillary Duff on Instagram because of it. And now I'm, like, the biggest Hillary Duff fan. Yeah, one of my friends said, I got a role in this show called Younger is a girl I went out with a few times. And I was like, oh, Amy loves that show.
Starting point is 00:08:41 And she was like, I've never seen it, but apparently people love it. It's hardcore. It's good. If you're in, you're in. You know, you know. I was talking to Jay from Rascal Flats about. Walking Dead. Yeah, what did he say?
Starting point is 00:08:53 Well, I was like, I checked out. Me too. And he's like, yeah, because that was his favorite show too. And he was like, once Rick kind of went away, it's tough. Well, I tried to check back in. I downloaded some episodes for a flight. And I tried watching and I was just like, what is happening? There's some couples now that are together that don't make sense to me and it's weird.
Starting point is 00:09:13 I don't know. I'm just like not feeling it. What's the show with the girl from Gray's Anatomy? It's supposed to be so good where, hmm. Which girl from Grades'Annie? It's like a shoot-em-up, spy show? Ellen Pompeo? No.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Sandra O. Oh, Sandra O. I don't know. I haven't seen previews for that. I've had about four friends tell me that the Sandra O show. I think it may be on Hulu. Okay. It's so good. Mike, see if you can pull me the name of the show and the premise of that show.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I believe it's Sandra O. What's it called, Morgan, number two? Killing Eve. That's it. Read me the premise of Killing Eve, because this may be the show that I start next. And what channel it's on? What channel?
Starting point is 00:09:51 Like what platform it's on? Oh, it's on BBC and AMC. Okay, so it's going to be on Hulu or Netflix. Probably Hulu. It's Hulu? Okay. And then what's the premise of killing Eve? Basically, Eve's life as a spy is not adding up to what she wanted it to be.
Starting point is 00:10:08 She's bored and she's deskbound and then she, like, meets somebody and they go head to head in this, like, game of, like, fighting against another woman. Spy versus spy? Yeah. Oh, like, Miss. Mr. Mrs. Smith. Remember that? Well, they were married, though.
Starting point is 00:10:24 I know, but they were spy versus spy. Yeah. Extra wrinkle of the marriage, though. Sure. What do you think that premise is? How would you describe, Mike? Security operative and an assassin become... Regardless, it's supposed to be amazing.
Starting point is 00:10:40 If anyone's listening to this... If you've heard from four different people, then it's got to be good. Four different friends who are like, are you watching Killing Eve? And I'm not. Yeah. I'm going to have to check it out. I'm sort of embarrassed about all-American. What?
Starting point is 00:10:50 It has 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Ooh. And it's in season two. Let me see what All American has. Yeah, 12. Oh, wait. It's so embarrassing. But listen, we just don't have anything else to watch right now.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Well, try killing Eve. What are you doing, Googling it? Well. Oh. What? 91% positive. That's pretty good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Okay, I'm back in. It's cool. That being said, we're going to jump the tickets to the rage. The Raging Idiots Show tour, the half-com, half-music show. Go up Friday at Raging Idiots.com, 10 a.m. Local time. You can see all the dates over there. Amy, what do you want to promote? Oh, I'll promote my Four Things podcast because every Thursday a new episode goes up.
Starting point is 00:11:36 And we talk about a variety of things from lifestyle, fitness, health, wellness, food, parenting, adoption, stuff like that. And then there's like tons of episodes for you to listen to and you can binge it. Lunchbox? The Soar Losers podcast with Ray, Eddie and myself. Eddie won't be on there today. We just talk sports and we try to make you laugh a little bit. All right, there you go. Here is Wednesday, May 15th.

Starting point is 00:12:27 On this day in country music Today in 1999 so 20 years ago Tim McGraths Please Remember Me began a five-week stay at number one Which is massive for the amount of time It was the number one song. Do you remember this song, Amy? There she is. So you know that one?
Starting point is 00:12:52 Yes, I know it. Five weeks at number one. Did you know it was actually a cover song? No. Okay, so originally recorded by Rodney Crowell for his 1995 album. His version peaked at number 69. on the country chart. Here's Rodney Crowell.
Starting point is 00:13:05 The last song was sent to Tim McGraw, and then it became number one years later. Wow. Did you know that's Patty Lovelace singing with Tim McGraw on his version? Did not. Fun fact. There you go. You didn't even know. Love a good fun fact.
Starting point is 00:13:24 That's what I... You do love a good fact. I do. Yeah. Doing good. You? Yeah. We should have a good show today.
Starting point is 00:13:30 We'll do Win Bobby's money coming up later. Speaking of money, Raymundo, our audio producer. Good morning, Raymondo. Morning. Raymundo had that song, Vacation, that he helped write, and then he also did a little rap part on it. Here, play vacation, Ramundo. Are you down for a play? So, I got a note that he's using his 15 minutes of fame of this song,
Starting point is 00:13:52 and he's doing car commercials about it. Do I have a clip of the commercial? Yeah, it's 28 seconds. I thought I'd just give you guys a little sample of it. Okay, here's Raymundo's car commercial. He's doing it. Go ahead. What's up, you guys?

Tell them Raymundo sent you. And they plays the song. Nice. Yeah, I do. I love it when you do commercials. You may be the best commercial we were on this show.

Play it from the beginning again, just the beginning. All right. What's up, you guys? It's Ray Mundo from the hit song, Vacation. From the hit song, Vacation.

That's AMU. dot edu slash military here's the bobby bones show podcast highlight segment of the day we're going to play when bobby's money coming up in a second
Starting point is 00:18:50 and i wonder because we have some people on the phone that want to play already i wonder if they've been cleared to play because we've decided that we're going to screen the callers a little bit so it's just not domination good idea i'm not good at a lot of things but one of the things i'm good at is trivia and i'm quick and if i don't know it quick i don't know it but i'm pretty good at trivia but we have a couple people on here this is lisa in south Carolina. Lisa, are you there? I am here. You pretty good trivia or no? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Did they ask you questions on the phone back there? Yes, they did. And you did pretty good. What did they ask you? Two questions. What movie is the lead guy in Pirates the Caribbean? Pirates the Caribbean. What do you mean? The lead guy is obviously
Starting point is 00:19:35 Who? Johnny Dapp, who does he play? Who's his character's name? Johnny Depp. Oh, so I've got to mark out a couple of these questions. Jack Barrow. Oh, you have the questions? That's one of the questions?
Starting point is 00:19:49 Yeah. But we get trying to cheat for her? I don't understand. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Maybe it's coincidence. Whoa. This thing rigged? Yeah, what other one did they ask?
Starting point is 00:19:58 You ask me what they ask. Yeah, we're asking. But Lunchbox is saying that's one of the questions. Yeah, that's the first question. Does this say example next to it? It does it say example? Whoa, folks. This game has been rigged.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Oh, wow. Wait, okay, so what was the other... What was the second question? No, no, no, no. No, no. Bull crap. Wait, what do you mean you're not going to tell? We'll figure it out.
Starting point is 00:20:22 What's the second one, Lisa? Come on. What did they ask you? Who played Han Solo and... Indiana Jones. Anyway, who played Han Solo? Who played Han Solo and Indiana Jones? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Is that on there, too? That's the second question. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What's happening here? This game's been rigged against me. Well, I mean. Collusion. Okay, I got two questions.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Bull crap. I refuse to go on. I'm not going on. This game's been rigged against me. You only got asked two. You promise. Why would you guys ask her? Who's in the room over there?
Starting point is 00:21:02 Why would they ask questions that we're going to play with? Except to have me at a disadvantage. All right. I mean, she would have been up too right away. Oh, yeah, she would have been like... Lisa, I'm gonna... Johnny Depp, out of the gate. Lisa, did they give you any more questions?
Starting point is 00:21:18 No, two is it. She sounds like an honest woman, though. Because women don't lie, right? Those are both movie questions. Is that what the category is? Yeah, the categories, movies, and those were the first two in the question bank. Who did that? Who asked the questions because somebody's going to be reprimanded here?
Starting point is 00:21:32 Who was it? Whoever answered the phone. Do you ask the phone person those questions, Mike Dee? I sent him to the question. Oh, okay. the questions. Why would she ask questions in the game? I'm going to take them out. That makes no sense.
Starting point is 00:21:45 He plans on taking them out. Whatever. I feel like I'm already waiting. Wait, wait. He's plans on taking him out after he gave him to me. He's reprinting it. Calm down. Lisa, I'm going to put you on. And you and I are going to play if you promised that you didn't get any more questions. I already feel like the game's shaded against me. But now I'm coming in mad. Oh, okay. You don't want to... And when you're mad,
Starting point is 00:22:03 what happens? More fast. I dominate. I'm about to dominate you, Lisa. What do you think about that? You were going to lie. I didn't say you didn't get in the other ones. Where do you live? I didn't hear me. I'm an honest woman. You know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:22:15 You live in South Carolina. You live in South Carolina. Wow. What part of South Carolina? Charleston. Okay. You want to hang through? We'll take a quick break.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Come back and I'll play you? Okay. You know, I'm just messing with you, right? But I am going to beat you real bad, I think, now because I'm a little irritated in my staff. You beat everybody, so my chance is my, the odds are against me right now. No, they're not, because you already. You know.
Starting point is 00:22:39 I'm going for. it, Bobby. I'm going for it. Let me say much money to have my wallet. Amy, you're going to vouch for me here? Yep. I've none. So how much do I need to put up? Because I don't have any money.
Starting point is 00:22:49 What is this? This wind-bbs money. What do you mean? I know what I'm saying. So are you going to go to the... ATM? No, how about like $40? Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Sounds about right. I mean, I'd say $45. Oh, my goodness. I'd say $65. Okay, $45 what we're going to play for. I didn't put any money in my wallet. Okay, well, come back. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Me and Lisa, mono E. Okay. Well, mono. We are going to play Win Bobby's Money, which is a trivia game. Where, apparently we've been feeding the caller's answers for years, and I had no idea. A little bit. I feel like there's a bit of cheating against me here. Yep.
Starting point is 00:23:28 But, okay, let's see what happens. I believe Lisa is still on the phone. Lisa. Yeah. Yeah. In Charleston, South Carolina. Is that true? That's true?
Starting point is 00:23:41 Yes, that's. She lost some of her momentum. Where's she at? Well, I think she was listening to us the whole commercial break. I forgot to turn her call down. So I think she was listening to us talk to the whole commercial break. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Lisa, so what we're going to do is we're going to play the game. I'm going to walk out of the studio. You're going to get ten questions. What's the theme? Movies. The theme is movies. Oof. Not a big movie watcher.
Starting point is 00:24:04 I've got to be honest with you. Yeah. But you know a lot. Lisa, are you a big movie watcher? Uh, yeah, I am. Are you pretty good at trivia? I am. And how old are you?
Starting point is 00:24:20 52, here we go. So she's seen a lot more movies than you in her lifetime. She's seen a lot more movies, that's true. Been around a little bit longer. Let's play! Win Bobby's Money! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. It's now time for another edition of Win Bobby's.
Starting point is 00:24:38 He's money! The challenger coming out of the blue corner. She hails from South Carolina. She's 52 years old. Give it up for Lisa. Boo. Cheater. Go ahead.

Starting point is 00:35:55 Big three stories. Let's go over to our producer, Ramundo. Ramundo, what you got over there? In Hawaii on the island of Maui, they're still searching for that missing yoga instructor who's been missing for almost a week. The community continues to have hundreds of people look for her every day. In Alabama, they passed a bill outlawing nearly all abortions.
Starting point is 00:36:13 This is the most restrictive anti-abortion measure that was passed since Roe versus Wade in 1973. And finally, in sports in New Orleans, Pelicans won the NBA draft lottery, and they're most likely going to take Zion Williamson in next month's draft. So when Lunchbox goes to a hotel, he takes everything. The toilet paper or the shampoo, if it's in there, he takes it with them. And not only that, he calls people.
Starting point is 00:36:37 They're also staying and says, hey, will you bring me yours? Which we've talked about on the show and debated if it's stealing or not. And so he takes a microphone and you go to a different hotel each time and talk to these people. Yeah, I went to three different hotels, different variety, different names, different branches, you know, because there's all different ones, just to see their opinion on is it stealing or is it okay? All right, here is the first clip where lunchbox talks to a guy at the hotel. Go ahead. Can I ask you a quick question for it? When you check out, it's okay to take the shampoo, the soap and all that with you, right?
Starting point is 00:37:06 Like, that's not stealing. No, no. And you put two rolls of toilet paper in there so I can take the extra roll. Right, because I pay for it. You're not going to, we're not going to say anything about it. Because you just throw it away if I don't, right? Well, the used parts, the use soap or whatever, they throw out that away. Right, so I might as well take it home and use it for myself.
Starting point is 00:37:25 Yeah, if you want to. Okay, thank you. But you don't just take the use soap. If it's not used soap, they keep it and use it again. And also, I think he wasn't allowed to say no. He's like, I mean, I guess. Right. Even that felt shady a little bit.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Sounds like he was trying to keep the customer happy. Here's that lunchbox asking a different worker, a different hotel, if it's considered stealing. Go ahead. I got a question for you. So, like, when you check out, when you're leaving the room, what's the rule on the toiletries? Like the shampoo, the soap, things like that. Are you supposed to take it with you? because I was told it's stealing.
Starting point is 00:37:57 From here? My friends said, you can't take that. It's stealing. So we're having a debate. That's not stealing if it's in the wrong. They're not going to use a del throwing away. That is what I'm talking about. See?
Starting point is 00:38:07 Say Bobby, Amy, you were wrong. Bobby, Amy, you are wrong. Because they do what? Throw it away. Boom. Do we think he would have put the clubs of them saying opposite? That was the question? No.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Okay. And I still don't know. I mean, really, honestly, if they don't use the toilet paper, they don't keep it there. I feel like don't they have like cute little gold stickers where they just pop a sticker on there and it looks like it's new even though it used? We're not even saying he's stealing. Right. Because it's there.
Starting point is 00:38:34 You're not going to go to jail for it. But we're saying a lot of these places donate and that when he's asking Eddie to bring extra toilet paper down to him so we can take it home. Right. That's just a bit excessive. One other clip he asked a guy to solve a debate he's having. Here we go. Got a question for you. I'm having a debate with my friends about when you check out of the hotel, the toiletries.
Starting point is 00:38:53 The shampoo, the soap. Are you allowed to take it with you? Towers, you are not allowed to. Towers and everything. All right, towels, I get it. What about toilet paper? Toil paper, no. So you say shampoo, soap?
Starting point is 00:39:07 Yeah. You can take. Yeah, you can take that. Towels? Only the shampo's in the show. Okay. Thank you. Well, at least we got a dissenting opinion there.
Starting point is 00:39:15 Yeah. There you have it. Well, listen. It's not stealing. You're not going to go to jail. But thanks for trying, lunchbox. And so what did you learn? Whenever you stay at a home?
Starting point is 00:39:23 I'm a hotel, bring me the soaps, the shampoos, and the toilet paper, and we are all good. It's a Bobby Bones show. You know, our friend that's having that wedding in November, in Mexico? Yeah. I've never been to Mexico. And I've never been to a destination wedding, which I do think they're a bit selfish. Mm-hmm. Because to go to your wedding, I got to pay money.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Yeah, it's a full-blown trip. And I really like this friend. Like, I, so I'm going to go. And I RSVPed. I'm going to go to Mexico. and I had to RSVP plus one for sure. So on a destination wedding, I'm plus one. But it's not like I can find anybody right now.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Right, you can't. Too soon. It's way too soon. Yeah, you can't be like, so what are you doing in November? Right. So when is my window for this? It's like inviting someone to Thanksgiving. But I can't do it the week before because you've got to buy a plane ticket.
Starting point is 00:40:13 And you have to plan. And it's like a weekend in a hotel. Yeah. So what are we looking at here strategically? Ah. If wedding's in November. September-ish. Late September.
Starting point is 00:40:25 Late September. That's my gut. And she's going to Mexico and she has to stay in the same hotel as you? We only get one room because all the block was bought up. Right. But did you get like two beds? I didn't get, I know I just picked a. No, if some, first of all, if someone's going to go, we're not getting two.
Starting point is 00:40:47 We're not Mike, Marsha Brady or Mike and Carol Brady. Okay, okay. I don't know. So you're saying the windows like late, late September. September. I think so. That's like, that seems appropriate. And my buddy who met his girl at a raging idiot's concert, he was with us and he met her and they're getting married and Eddie's not going so that we were going to play at the wedding like an Eddie didn't want to go to the wedding. But could you still play? I mean, do I want to go and play by myself?
Starting point is 00:41:11 Like, it's the raging idiots, but just me, Bobby, sorry. Oh, that's funny. I mean, I guess I could, but I don't want the pressure of playing alone at someone's wedding. Okay. Like for a friend. Yeah. Because what we do is funny anyway, and Eddie and I could have pulled it off, but I don't really want to do it by myself. So he's asked me to play. So what should I do?
Starting point is 00:41:32 It's his wedding, and he's asked you to play, so you should play. But I have to, like, write a song for it too. You should do that. That's your friend, and he's asked you to play. It's his wedding. It's like your gift. Does that mean I don't? Okay, great question. Does that mean I don't have to buy a gift now? That could be your gift, honestly, and that would be a good gift. So, yeah. But don't you think Eddie should write it with me at least because he's not going to go. Yeah. And FaceTime him in during the ceremony. We can do that.
Starting point is 00:41:55 Why aren't you going, Eddie? Well, I have four kids. That's hard to get someone to watch them while we go. And two, I don't have a passport. You don't have a passport? You have until November. If I can find a girlfriend, you can get a passport. There's like rush my passport.com.
Starting point is 00:42:12 You can get it in like two days. I know. I know that because I lost mine once and I needed to get to Haiti ASAP. But, okay, Eddie could be your date. Eddie's not going. I've planted it in my head without Eddie. Okay, so. So, okay, question one, I need to get a girl by when?
Starting point is 00:42:29 End of September. But not before that. Not necessary. Question two. You could find her sooner. Yes. Do I have to play at the wedding? Yes.
Starting point is 00:42:37 Question three, can my wedding song that I write be a replacement for a wedding gift? Yes. Okay. I like where this is going. Yeah. It's like we're negotiating here. All right. I'm going to mark this down.
Starting point is 00:42:46 It's in Mexico. Do you know where you're going, huh? We don't know for sure yet because my husband's work schedule, but yeah, and I've been talking with our friend about it. But so, yeah, it's also an hour drive. In Mexico? Yes.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Yes. Where you land? I'm out. I'm not driving in Mexico for an hour. I was a little concerned about that part. And, yeah, even with my husband's work, some stuff, he was like, okay, I need more details about all of this. And I was like, okay, I'll try to get them off.
Starting point is 00:43:17 It's called like the transfer from the airport to the hotel. And then once you get to the all-inclusive hotel, you don't leave. You know what I'm saying? You don't leave. This gringo Not going to be well received. Gringo don't leaveo, the hotelo. Maybe you're right.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Maybe I should go with you guys. Yeah, Eddie. Yes. You need a brown guy with you all. No. It'll be so fun. Kelsey Ballerini, miss me more. I just can't wait to get beheaded.
Starting point is 00:43:41 You're right. It's going to be so fun. If you survive. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two's 30 second skinny. Luke Combs just officially dropped a new single, but apparently he has even more new music to share. At a recent show, he shared another new song called One Too Many
Starting point is 00:43:58 and says it's his 90s country drinking song. Keith Irvin says that he thinks his family may take an RV and hit the road together for some fun. We've started watching Big RV on CMT and we're addicted to that show. We sit down as a family and watch that all the time. So that's probably our natural segue into actually getting an RV and hitting the road. And then we've got the top country albums this week. At number one, Luke Holmes, this one's for you.
Starting point is 00:44:38 At number two, Dan and Shay's self-titled album. And number three, Mary Morris's album, girl. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. Come on. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:44:52 A school district in Rhode Island announced that we're going to give kids who owed money on their school lunch accounts a peanut butter and jelly sandwich instead of a hot lunch. And that was in the news because they're like, hey, you owe money. You can't get a hot lunch anymore. Oh, wow. So the CEO of that Chabani yogurt heard about it and donated $77,000 to cover these school lunch deaths of the kids in the Warwick public school system. So they could actually eat a hot lunch. Love that.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Right? Yeah. Oh, that stinks. I was a free lunch kid because we couldn't afford lunch. And so I get government assistant lunch. And I don't know what. And I depended on that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:28 I like when these stories come out because it's a reminder that that's a thing you can give to. For breakfast and for lunch, I would eat at school. because we didn't always have food. Yeah. So I would go to breakfast and I would eat cereal or whatever they had and then I would go for lunch. The weird thing was they made a stand in the free lunch line, which you'd go to lunch and they made all the really poor kids standing in one line. Well, surely by now your school district has figured that out. I would hope.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Or if you're listening and you're in charge of that, like find a way to not make kids stand out. It was so humiliating. Yeah. It was so humiliating. But there you go. Shout out to the Chabani CEO for doing that. I love that. And that's what's all about.
Starting point is 00:46:05 That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobby Bones Show. Bonehead. This story comes up to us from Oakland, California. A man came outside to find that his car had been stolen and he really wanted it back. So he called 911 and said, my car's been stolen. And my three-year-old daughter was in the back seat. Starting point is 00:55:00 Your top three songs in country music right now, Kane Brown at number three. I just want to wake up every day here in this bed. This might be my jam right now on the radio. There's always one song. This might be it. There's a couple. This song is so good.
Starting point is 00:55:26 But baby, I just want to be good as you. That's jam. It's number three this week. And number two, Love Ain't from Eli Young band. It's good, good for them. Good to see them back up on a chart. And then Chase Rice, eyes on you at number one.
Starting point is 00:55:51 It's all your fall. Where we go No matter what we do If you're there Girl I've got my eyes It's a jam too, huh? Yeah, I like it That's his first ever number one
Starting point is 00:56:06 Do you know that? I didn't I guess I felt like maybe he had one Mm-mm Had some songs but Yeah, good for him for being number one I'll say this too And Amy I'm not kidding
Starting point is 00:56:15 When I do this next segment Next clip I'm not playing Okay, not a joke Okay First of all The number one top 40 song right now Is Jonas Brothers Do you know that one?
Starting point is 00:56:23 I'm a sucker For you. Yes. I'm a so good for you. Jam, right? Yeah. Okay. The number one
Starting point is 00:56:29 K-pop song, which by the way, this song's blowing up, is Boy with Love featuring Halsey, not even what I'm kidding about in a second, because this is a big song here.
Starting point is 00:56:38 And the number one comedy song last week. By a long shot. Jesus knows from Bobby Bones and the raging idiots. Nice. Jesus knows. Come on.
Starting point is 00:56:52 We make the list. And you're not kidding. No, I'm not kidding. You get a cute shirt, Right off the rack You wear it on a date But you leave on the tag Next day you take it back to Coles
Starting point is 00:57:05 They'll never find out But Our record comes out Friday It's a live record in Boston And I also posted a live performance On my Instagram yesterday Of Jesus Knows Oh
Starting point is 00:57:19 Of us playing IHart Country Festival I rarely put up live performances But you can see it on my Instagram Mr. Bobby Bones And you know who liked it? Lauren Daigle. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:29 That's awesome. She's a Christian artist. Yeah. She's probably like, I'm going to add this one to my set. Maybe she'll cover it. What if she covers it? Yeah. I need to get her on the phone and see if she's going to cover it.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Talking about super fans, because I was reading this story at GMA, there have been people waiting for a week to watch this group, BTS. Now, how familiar are you with BTS? I mean, I just see them all over Twitter and stuff. People are obsessed with them, but I'm not. I don't know that I could name one of their songs. Well, this is their newest, biggest song called Boy With Love. That's Korean. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:13 I'll say this, they can dance. There's a lot of them. Is that their appeal? Are they dance? Listen, I understand I don't get it, but I'm not supposed to get it anymore. Right. Morgan number two, you're like 12. Do you like them?
Starting point is 00:58:26 I mean, I do, but not as much as, like, these super fans do. Like, you listen to their music on your own? It will come up in like my workout playlist. And do you still work out to it? Yeah. In Korean? Yeah, I mean, it doesn't bother me. I think the music and the melodies are amazing.
Starting point is 00:58:45 I just don't know what they're saying. Halsey comes in and sings. I'm like, now we're talking. My friend actually wrote this song who lives here in Nashville. Oh, really? And she didn't even know she was writing. Not the Korean part? No.
Starting point is 00:59:05 No, she wrote it in English. It's Emily Wiseband who did a bobby cap. And she was like, they just contacted me through a website. Didn't even know what it was, wrote this thing, sent it off. And weeks later, it was like, oh, by the way, you're on the new BTS song. Oh, that's cool. So, okay, that being said, who were you a super fan of? Let's go over first and talk to Bryce in Texas.
Starting point is 00:59:25 Bryce, what's up, buddy? You good? I'm doing good. Good. Who are you a super fan of? I'm a super fan of Warren Elena. Why so? So she was my favorite American idol, and I've loved her ever spent.
Starting point is 00:59:41 just her state presence and just her personality is so infectious and you cannot have a bad time when she's performing. I made our group of friends get to Route 91 two and a half hours early just because I wanted to be a longer rail for her set and then around this is not whatsoever. Have you ever talked to Lauren Elena? So I've never talked to Lauren Elena, but I was like over the moon because she waved at me at her set at the I Heart Radio daytime village here in Austin. was like over the moon and if she answered her question answering on Instagram and she answered my question
Starting point is 01:00:16 and it was like the best day of my life All right well here's what I can do for you Lauren's going to be in about an hour and a half into the studio here would you like to talk to her then? I would absolutely like that Okay so I'm gonna put him on hold I'm not gonna make you hold for 90 minutes
Starting point is 01:00:29 Okay Get his number Yeah can we call you back Bryce a little bit because Lauren will be here Yeah absolutely that'd be amazing Okay so think of three questions that you've always wanted to ask Lauren Elena and we're going to let you do a mini interview
Starting point is 01:00:43 with her, okay? Okay. Also, you got to get on a clearer phone line or something. Are you talking to a cup and a string right now or what? What are we doing here? No, that's not a voice issue. Can you borrow a... Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Are you in a tunnel? Are you underground? Any of those things? All right, I just got nothing to work. So I'm in the driveway, so I'll probably be better once I'm inside. Okay, well, we're going to... We have his number.
Starting point is 01:01:09 I'm not sure not to put things on hold on this new... We're in temporary studio. Okay, I'm going to put them on hold. I think that was good. I hope that worked. I hope that was it. We'll get them on later on.
Starting point is 01:01:18 All right, here is Stephanie in Pennsylvania, who are you a super fan of. Stephanie, good morning. Welcome to the show. Hi, good morning, Bobby. What's happening? Nothing. I just wanted to let you know I'm a super fan of Keith Urban. What did you do that makes you a super fan?
Starting point is 01:01:34 I had a sign at his concert for him to sign me for a tattoo, and I got brought on stage. He signed my arms, and I got it tattooed the next morning. On your arm. Yes. That's a super fan. That is a super fan. And what is the tattoo say?
Starting point is 01:01:51 It says Keith Urban. He signed it and then he did a little peace sign in 2018. And yeah, it's right below a tattoo that I have of Mulan Rouge. So Nicole Kidman is right above it. Look at you. Like Nicole Kidman's face? Yeah, like Nicole Kidman and you and McGregor, their embrace on the Llan Rouge is kind of, of up there with a bunch of music notes and stuff around it.
Starting point is 01:02:15 You're all in. Wow. Listen, I can't hate you for it. It's tough, though, to get somebody's name on yourself. Because then what if Keith Durbin goes out and, like, shoots up a place? Right. Because he's still alive. Then you've got to black it out.
Starting point is 01:02:29 There's still a chance that that could happen. But he's not going to. By the way, I'm going to say this. Did you hear our interview with Keith Urban yesterday by any chance? Absolutely. Wasn't it so good? He's always good. No, me.
Starting point is 01:02:42 I did a good job. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. You asked him the hard-hitting questions, Bobby. I'm totally kidding about me. Yes, listen, I love that guy. We weren't able to get him in, but I thought yesterday it was so good. We played it twice. It was so good. We weren't, our listeners here twice. Okay. Stephanie, thank you so much. And we appreciate you being part of the show, okay? Thank you. All right, bye-bye. Amy, you're super fan. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:03:03 Man, I guess when I was a kid, there was a couple people I was obsessed with, but I'd have to go with, like, a circumstance that happened would be when I got to meet George Strait, because I was obsess. with him and I... And you peed. And I wore a George straight shirt to meet him. And looking back, I just felt so lame. But I mean, I was a kid. But I was like so obsessed with him. Yeah. And then Patrick Swayze. You can't forget about that.
Starting point is 01:03:27 Oh, yeah. Patrick Swayze. Yeah, I wrote him fan mail. And I was like a kid. I was nine and I was obsessed with dirty dancing, which is a little weird that my parents let me watch that. But I would write him letters. Still have one. My mom told me she mailed it to him, but she didn't.
Starting point is 01:03:44 I found it. My superfaness is a couple things. One, I'm going to go to the Chicago Cubs because once it snuck out of the house, drove to a game, stayed up all my money, went to the game, drove right back home. Oh, wow. Never told anyone. And I was almost dying of sleep deprivation. Drove 10 hours to go to a Cubs game.
Starting point is 01:04:06 Spent all my money. Didn't even find enough gas money to get back. As soon as the game was over, drove right back. Nobody ever knew how it was gone. Wow. that's a big deal for me because I've never driven that far and again I'm from a tiny town in Arkansas
Starting point is 01:04:17 and so the first time I went to Chicago I was like is this a planet is all these roads oh yeah I bet now I'm there a lot and it's awesome and it's like you know just one of my favorite places but still and then I'm a super fan of
Starting point is 01:04:31 John Mayer if he puts out anything if he farts to a walkie talkie and there's a recording of it you've got it oh I'm in and then I've driven the longest to a Garth Brooke show of the shows
Starting point is 01:04:44 twice over six hours. Yeah. I was with you one of those times, which was so fun. It was a good road trip. Worth it, totally. I'd do it again. Yeah, I would do it again too. And we're jaded because now we work in the business and we know Garth and Trisha and they were like, hey, come backstage or whatever. We were like, nope, we're experiencing this as like fans only. We didn't.
Starting point is 01:05:06 We sat and we hung out and it was awesome. Lunchbox super fan me. Oh, Tina Turner was good friends with Oprah and Tina Turner is my favorite of all time so I had a letter written out to Oprah saying that I was dying and my last wish was to meet Tina Turner and I was ready
Starting point is 01:05:22 to mail it to Oprah and my mom sat me down and goes, you do realize Oprah's going to investigate this and know you're a fraud so the letter was never sent but that was my plan to meet Tina Turner through Oprah. Also, I don't know if you're going to bring it up or not, but Lunchbox waited in nine to get a teen
Starting point is 01:05:38 mom to sign his book. Yeah, I went to her book signing Macy Bookout at Barnes and Ova, I waited for an hour in line because the line was so long. I wanted to meet her and I freaked out and she signed a book and I got a picture and it was so worth the hour. Wait. I would have waited three hours. Two years ago. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:54 Well, he tried to go to jail. Amber Port was in jail. Amber Port would. Yes, she was in jail and I wanted to go and be there for her release so that way she knew she still had fans on the outside. But they didn't release the release date and they let her out the middle of the night so the press wouldn't get a hold of it. Yeah, because I'm sure it had just been crawling with.
Starting point is 01:06:10 I mean, there would have been everybody there. Here's Amy's pile of stories. So Hershey's chocolate is about to break 125-year tradition just for the sake of putting smiley faces on chocolate. So since 1894, Hershey's chocolates have just said
Starting point is 01:06:29 Hershey, Hershey, Hershey, Hershey, on each little square. But now they're doing different emojis. Like they've got the fist bump, the laughing face, like the happy face, thumbs up. It's super cute. So that'll be something
Starting point is 01:06:41 that will be available for the summer. They need to put in the emoji love song as their commercial. Exactly. That's what I was thinking. What else? So there's a teen who invited this girl to prom and she couldn't afford the prom dress that she wanted. So this guy, he got with his grandma and he sewed her her dream dress. He started back in February.
Starting point is 01:07:03 And yeah, I know. Isn't that like the sweetest story ever? And guess what? Even through this, he realized he now wants to study costume design in college and he hopes to become a Broadway costume designer one day. Not for sure. For sure, she has to make out after prom. Right? Come on. If he's going to do that for sure. I don't think he wants to make out of prom.
Starting point is 01:07:25 Oh, you think because he made clothes as gay? Oh my gosh. I don't think so. Listen. Tommy Hill figure? Calvin Klein. Yeah. Well, that's the only two. But, no, I don't know. We could think of more. Yes. But I'm saying if they're dating and he makes her dress. I mean, she has to be with him. Forever. Until he's done.
Starting point is 01:07:46 He didn't get right kidding. He made her address. I mean, it's very thoughtful and sweet. And speaking of prom, did you see that kid whose dad works for Verizon or something? He was able to get access to the T big screen in Times Square. And that's how he did his promposal. You know what? I don't ever love rich people's promposals.
Starting point is 01:08:05 I get so jealous. Well, I don't know that the person's like rich. If you can get access to something in Times Square. Or they work for T-Mobile. Sorry, not Verizon. That's ridiculous. I never look at rich people and go, no, that's cool. I look at rich people and go, I'm so resentful of you.
Starting point is 01:08:19 Okay. So, and you know what? Well, it's not that kid's fault that his friend's father is the, oh, sorry, it's not even his dad, it's his friend's dad is the chief executive officer, so he may not have any money. They probably live in the same neighborhood and also rich. Okay, okay, but still, kind of cool. Like, how'd you get invited a prime, Times Square?
Starting point is 01:08:37 My friend's rich dad. All right, what else? And lastly, Domino's is selling a Hawaiian. Ryan Spaghetti Pizza, which means there's spaghetti on top and pineapple. Interesting. Okay, here's always my thing with these new flavors. Before you go gross, they must have been tested and researched by so many people that they're pretty good. They have to be, or they wouldn't make and mass produce a bunch of them.
Starting point is 01:09:04 Yeah. Spaghetti and pineapple. I'm also not a pineapple hater on pizza. I don't love it, but their entire Reddit, subreddits about pineapple. It's about pineapple's terrible on pizza. Oh, yeah, the president of Iceland has been considering officially banning the topping. Iceland? Is that even a...
Starting point is 01:09:19 Why don't we care about the president? You've been there, right? Yeah, but there's like eight people that live there. I loved it. But who's the president of Iceland? I don't know, hard-hitting stuff he's working on, though. No pineapple on pizza. They must have real problems over in Iceland.
Starting point is 01:09:32 All right, is that it? Yeah, I mean, that's the pile. I mean, it's a pretty good pile, but I just had a lot to say about that one. Starting point is 01:13:26 I'm pretty good, man. Tell me what's up. You're a super fan of who. Same person you are, Darth Brooks. Now why and what have you done to become a superfan? Well, I've seen him in concert 31 times. Oh, wow. And just, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:41 31 times? How do you have the money to go to a show 31 times? Well, I drive, so that's cheaper. And, yeah, I only do it if it's... The farthest I've driven was 10 hours. So I drove from Chattanooga to Kansas City, and then I drove from Chattanooga to the D.C. And actually, when I went to D.C., they got 30 inches of snow,
Starting point is 01:14:04 and the show got postponed until the next weekend. Did you stay? Yeah, yeah, my best friend was there. So I was staying with Al. So, yeah, it was pretty awesome. And then what really made me a fan of film, though, even more than as an entertainer, was I was in Nashville one day before I actually moved here. And I just had a random meeting with Art.
Starting point is 01:14:28 just on the street, and he took about 20 minutes to talk to me. I was a spy songwriter at the time, just never had really made the plans to do it. And after talking with him on the street that day, and he just really was encouraging of me and supportive of me and just told me to do it. But let me stop you for a second. You're walking down the street and you see Garth Brooks? Something like that, yeah. Or were you, like, outside his house?
Starting point is 01:14:57 I wasn't outside his house. Okay. But I was just, I was, I'm not going to say where because it's somewhere that he probably is that quite a bit. And I don't want to, to give that away. But, yeah, I just kind of walking down the street there and just kind of stopped for a second. And then there he was. So, yeah. You're a songwriter now?
Starting point is 01:15:19 I am. You read anything we know? Not yet. All right. All right. Keep on. Keep firing those bullets, man. I am. One day you're going to be playing my music.
Starting point is 01:15:28 I hope so. Hey, good talk, Adam. Appreciate that. How about this? This is Missy. Missy, you're on in Boston, super fan of who? Jody Messina. What'd you do? Well, at one time, this was about 15 years ago, she had a concert at Six Flags up in the Springfield area, and I used to work there during college, so I knew kind of how to sneak. What's that?
Starting point is 01:15:55 Yeah, you're good. So I had to sneak around the guards, but I knew how because I worked there for a little while. And my friends and I got down to a big bathroom that's down near the stage. And we knew it was general admission. So we ended up hiding in the bathroom for four and a half hours so that when everyone was let in, we could just run right out and get front row so that we were close to Jody Messina. You chilled for four and a half hours in a bathroom? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:25 We were each in our own stall, and we stood for the majority of the time on the bath or on the toilet. So they wouldn't see your feet? We had, yep, because the security guards kept popping in and out. Oh, wow. That's love. We had her in a couple weeks ago. She was fantastic, too. I think you like her.
Starting point is 01:16:40 I always like to tell people if their favorites are cool or not. And if I don't say anything about it, you know, they're not. But Jody Messina is totally cool. She was super nice. Four hours in a bathroom. That's a lot. I was like lunchbox still on a Tuesday, right? That's about right.
Starting point is 01:16:53 It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So shout out to a nonprofit called Walking Pets because they made their first ever specialized wheelchair for a tortoise. Yeah, this little turtle named Scoot was injured. His shell got cracked. His back left leg was left paralyzed. And when he was taken to the vet clinic, they thought they were going to have to youth thineize him because of poor quality of life.
Starting point is 01:17:22 But a couple of the vet texts there were like, you know what? we've heard of this walking pets place. Let's reach out to them and see if they can do anything. And they're like, well, we've never done it before. It doesn't mean it's not possible. So now Turtle Scoot is zipping around on its custom wheels and it's really cute. You know, I don't know that I'd say zipping. He has a tortoise.
Starting point is 01:17:40 It's said here. He's probably methodically moving along. But that is pretty cool, especially if that tortoise meant something to somebody. Yeah, no, I think they just found him in Florida. Well, okay. But every animal counts unless it's a little. It's like a spider. See, but then you can't do that.
Starting point is 01:17:57 You can't go assigning certain... Or a bug. I didn't kill a bunch of ants last night. I can't do it, Amy. Felt bad for a minute. If there's a spider or bug, I take it. And I don't even put it in a paper towel. I put it in a t-shirt.
Starting point is 01:18:09 And I take it outside and free it. And he free it outside. So for me, I brought the mail in and put it down on my counter, and then ants were everywhere because they were in my mailbox. So you're telling me I was supposed to scoop up all the ants one by one. The easiest thing for me to do is pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. If you had a hard. And then it was like a, all these dead ants on my counter.
Starting point is 01:18:29 If you had a heart. Really? If they were hurt, I get ants little scooters and let them drive around. That's how much I love it. All right, thank you, Amy. That's what it's all about it. That was Tell Me Something Good. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood.
Starting point is 01:18:43 Morgan No. 2's 32nd Skinny. Luke Combs just officially dropped a new song, but apparently he has even more new music to share. At a recent show, he sang another new song called One Too Many. and says it's his 90s country drinking song. Is this a live concert clip? Yes, it is. You guys got a bunch of hits. He got a bunch of drinking songs, too.
Starting point is 01:19:17 What else? Keith Urban says that he thinks his family may take an RV and hit the road together soon for some fun. We've started watching Big RV on CMT, and we're addicted to that show. We sit down as a family and watch that all the time. So that's probably our natural segue into actually getting an RV and hitting the road.
Starting point is 01:19:36 We got Top Country Albums this week, At number one, Luke Holmes, this one's for you. Number two, Dan and Shay's self-titled album and number three, Mary Morris' album, Girl. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones.

First, let's go over to Amy because she does have the morning corny at this time every day. Morning corny! What did the green grape say to the purple grape? What the green grape say to the purple grape.
Starting point is 01:20:18 G, breathe, breathe. Oh, because it's purple. There you go. I get it because it's been breathing. It's purple. There it is. Thank you. That was the morning corny.
Starting point is 01:20:30 Going to Casey in Ohio because we've been talking about super fans. And it came up because there's a line of GMA for this K-pop group, which means Korean. They've been waiting for a week just to see these people. They're not even going to get to eat dinner with them or touch them. Just to like watch them. Like they're that. their fan base is that big right now. Casey in Ohio.
Starting point is 01:20:50 So what, you saw how many Dave Matthews concerts? Last year I saw, 27, and I'm around, I think I'm around 100. I haven't really counted all of them, but, yes, I'm a big Dave Matthews fan. I'm actually on my way to go see him now. I'm going to St. Louis. Really? Yeah, I swear. I love it.
Starting point is 01:21:07 It's so much fun. What is it about you that loves Dave so much? Well, it's all about the lyrics, first of all, is how I got started, and then, And it just grew from there. And now I have friends all over the world. I could literally move anywhere, get a job. I have networking. And then besides that, we all have one common ground, Dave Matthews band.
Starting point is 01:21:27 So we all get along very well. It's been a good time. And then obviously, we call him Dave Cation. So I get to go see the world, too. Oh, Dave Cation. Get it? Yeah. Vacation, vacation.
Starting point is 01:21:38 Oh, got it. Listen, I love that. I try to give on American Idol. I try to give Alejandro satellite from Dave Matthews band. I gave him two songs to do on the show. to do Satellite from Dave Matthews band or No Woman No Cry from Bob Marley And he picked Bob Marley
Starting point is 01:21:53 But because we didn't get Dave cleared in time I think he may have went satellite route But it took us why Because you have to get every song cleared by like the publisher And the songwriter Oh yeah But do you know satellite? Satellite
Starting point is 01:22:07 I love Dave Matthews I just wish I was a partaker You know because I'd probably like really get into the jam band part of it Yeah. That's me right there screaming. Do you hear me? Ah! Were you ever a day fan?
Starting point is 01:22:33 I mean, I'm a fan. Probably a lot in college, and I've seen them once. Like, I think at a festival somewhere, but, yeah, I haven't, like, I'm not full-blown. I haven't traveled. The jam sessions, lo-long. Well, they do jam a lot. They're a jam band. They'll play, like, nine minutes of songs, and I'm like, come on, play Aunt's Marching.
Starting point is 01:22:51 Yeah. No, no exchange. No time to exchange. I never met Dave Matthews, but he's a big one. I think of this and I think about like 11th grade. Yeah. I'll do it the same. That's good.
Starting point is 01:23:19 I love Dave Kation. Thank you. I need to go on a Davecation. Let's do another one. Brianna, Massachusetts. You're on, Brian. Hi. Who are you a super fan of?
Starting point is 01:23:30 Bobby Vaughn. Oh, that would be me. Hey. Hey. Oh my God. This is like insane. I'm about to cry. No, no, no, don't cry.
Starting point is 01:23:41 Are you driving? No, I'm not driving. I'm parked. I'm literally about to cry. I'm like literally obsessed with you. All right. So this is a weird question to ask, but I've asked it about everybody else. So why are you obsessed with me?
Starting point is 01:23:53 I've just been listening to your show for like four years. And honestly, no other talk show I've connected with so well. So it's I love all of you. Like Amy, I connect with so well. You guys are awesome. I've gone to two of your comedy shows in Boston. You're so funny, and I cried the first time you came out. I am just a super fan.
Starting point is 01:24:14 Wow, that's very kind of you. Hey, let me ask you this because we're going, Eddie and I, we're doing a two-man music and comedy show. We're going on tour, and we came to Boston and recorded our live album. Were you at that show? No, I wasn't. I wanted to go so bad. I've been wanting to go see you and Eddie so bad.
Starting point is 01:24:30 Well, let me ask you this, because a lot of people are wondering, like, is Bobby funny when he's on stage? Like, what would you really say? You've come to my comedy shows. Mm-hmm. Am I funny? You are so funny.
Starting point is 01:24:41 Thank you. That's all I wanted to hear. People don't even know. I thought I wanted to hear. I knew she'd say that too, because obviously she's fan. You're hilarious. Thank you, thank you.
Starting point is 01:24:49 Brian, hey, I need to send her something. Hey, Ray Mundo, we don't have a mic over there, do we, in the temporary studio? Or do we? No, Mike? The mic doesn't work? Yeah, we're in a temporary room. Mike, do you show me if there's a mic in that room?
Starting point is 01:25:03 That's the mic? Wow. Hey, Ray, can you hear me? Yo, yo. Oh, wow. Hey, what do we have that we can give her? Whatever y'all want, what do you want to do? No, no, that's not true. I'd give her a car if I can give her anything.
Starting point is 01:25:12 It's weird. I can't hear you, though. Read his lips. Hey, uh, Brian. Oh, my God. Hi, Amy. Hey. What do you want for me, Brianna?
Starting point is 01:25:22 I'll give you whatever you want. What do you want? Anything. Oh, my God. This is insane. I'll take absolutely anything. Okay. I send her a signed book.
Starting point is 01:25:30 I send her a signed book. Do you have any books? My latest books fail until you don't. And I'll write you a note in there. Is that okay? Thank you so much. This is awesome. I appreciate it so much.
Starting point is 01:25:43 I'm going to put you on hold, okay? All right, thank you. All right, bye-bye. For those that are kind of new-ish to the show, we're working out of a small room that's not our normal studio. Our real studio is being built across the hall, and by July we should be back in, and I'm so looking forward to yelling those words,
Starting point is 01:25:59 move that bus. But there's not really going to be about it. No, there might be. In the building? Yeah. And the bus moves when we see our new studio we're like,
Starting point is 01:26:07 yeah. Can I wait for that day. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University, an affordable, private, nonprofit Christian University based in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona.

And so we're trying to get him on the phone right now.
Starting point is 01:29:52 He had to go to the doctor because his eyeball got so big that it was like, I think he should probably go to the emergency room. What do you think it was? I have no idea. Spider? Ooh. They smiter crawled up there and got it? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:03 Layed eggs in his eye. Oh, that would be the worst. That would be awesome. Would it be all... Yeah, because he'd make the news and we'd get... We'd go viral. But he would go viral. Wouldn't you be so jealous?
Starting point is 01:30:14 But I would be in the clip. I'd be like, I'm his doctor and I think he's going to be okay. I'm his doctor. Stop it. Last night, Jada Marcus from Rascal Flats came by the house. And we did a bobby cast. How's that? It was really good because he's really funny.
Starting point is 01:30:27 He did a... book out. And so he was talking about how he met his wife and he just sat down in a makeup chair and she was next to him as they were about to shoot their very first video. We started to talk and I really, really enjoyed her company. Hold me to talk about you for a second. But standoffish because she was engaged. Right. Right. Right. You just didn't know that. I did not know that. In my defense, I did not know that. Started to make her laugh some. Was she not impressed by the music thing? She could have cared less. So he meets her. She's engaged, but she doesn't have a ring on because she's like the girl in the music video.
Starting point is 01:30:57 Oh, she's working. Yeah. And then it's the whole story about how he got her. It's the new Bobby Cash. She loves to do it. It's pretty good. And then he talked about how he gave her his number because they had been together all day
Starting point is 01:31:09 and he knew she was engaged and was being funny. Well, actually, I'm engaged and I know that you didn't know that because they made me take my ring off, but I'm getting married in about a month or so. And she finally goes, can I go on your bus and use the restroom before I leave? So while she's in using the restroom,
Starting point is 01:31:24 I pull on a piece of paper and write my phone number down. And I handed it to her and I said, listen, I know you're going to ask for this anyway. So I'm going to go ahead and give this to you. Just like that, too, you know, really cheesy. And then months later, the engagement didn't work out, and they got together. They've been married 15 years now. Oh, wow. It's a good story.
Starting point is 01:31:44 He also talks about because Jay, who has dark hair and Gary, the blonde hair, lead singer, they're cousins. And so he had been hearing that Gary was winning karaoke competitions in Ohio. and the whole origin of their band is so funny. So he called him up? Well, Gary, like Jay's mom and Gary's mom are like, you should hear your cousin sing. The first song he sang was One Last Cry by Brian McKnight. And so he comes into, and Jay's like, oh my goodness,
Starting point is 01:32:10 my cousin from Ohio thinks he's a singer. At karaoke bars. Yeah, and he's winning karaoke competitions. Like, come on. And so then Gary LaVox goes down to Jay's house. His cousin, they weren't even close at the time. And this is him talking about. He walks into Jay's.
Starting point is 01:32:24 house. The first song he sang was One Last Cry by Brian McKnight, and he just stopped me in my tracks. I mean, when he opens his voice and you hear that come out of him, it's otherworldly. I mean, I describe it in the book as all of these ingredients of gospel and R&B and country rolled up into one. I'd never heard anything quite like it before. And so I went from being like, my stupid cousin to, oh my goodness. So they started playing in a bar together, just those two. And they had a guitar player, But the guitar player got sick, so they had to call on this other dude, like, last minute. And this other dude shows up. And this other dude's, like, really good looking.
Starting point is 01:33:03 And Gary, the lead singer, was like, I'm not playing with this guy. It was Joe Don, who's probably the other third member of basketball player. He's like, I said, well, man, I didn't want to tell you this, but Shane's sick. And he goes, are you kidding me? Gary, please, like, just get in the shot. He would barely even speak to Joe Don. It was so funny. He was so frustrated.
Starting point is 01:33:20 And I understand. See, Gary was getting up at 4.30 a.m. to throw papers. So we'd finish in the club at two. He slept. Yeah, and he'd go right to work, throwing papers. So I understood his frustration. So it's nuts. And Jay was in a Christian band for a long time.
Starting point is 01:33:36 Accidentally got a girl pregnant. They kicked him out. Oh, wow. Lots of record deal. Wow. It's all in a book. And the book is called Shotgun Angels. And so he talks about the book and talks about the origin of Rascal Flats.
Starting point is 01:33:48 It's a good podcast. So listen to it today if you get a minute. It's the newest episode of the Bobbycast with Jay DeMont. Marcus of Rascal Flats. And I like that guy. And, you know, it was one of those rare times where we hung out after and talked for a little bit. We kind of sat in the front yard and just kind of caught up.
Starting point is 01:34:02 No, it sounds good. It is good. I'll check it. It's really good. Some of them are good. Some of them are really good. So, yeah, there's that. Eddie's on the phone, by the way.
Starting point is 01:34:11 Eddie, who left the studio this morning with a swollen eyeball. Are you at the doctor or no? Do we have them on? It says he's on. I don't hear him. Eddie? Oh, hold on, hold on. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:34:22 Hold on. New studio. Hold on, hold on. Eddie? Hello. Hold on. Eddie, I'm working new buttons here. We're in a temporary room.
Starting point is 01:34:29 Hold on, hold on. I'm going to hang up on him. I know I'm going to hang up on him. Hello? Hello? There you go. Hey, Eddie, so you wake up this morning and your eyeball is swollen. It looks like I got punched in my right eye.
Starting point is 01:34:42 Like, it's just shut. I can see like a slit through my eye. That's about it. So, what the doctors say? So I went yesterday because yesterday it wasn't as a bad. Yesterday was kind of like Forrest Whitaker, you know, where it's like half shut. And I was like, I went and got to check out. He said, that's allergies, man. So I'm going to give you some steroid drops. And that'll be gone in like two days. Well, I wake up this morning and it's completely worse. Like,
Starting point is 01:35:08 I can't even see through my right eye. So wait. So now what's going to happen? So now I got to go back to the doctor. He opens up at nine, but I'm just going to wait till the door's open. I'm going to go like right now. You're going to be like me because I go to places for dinner at 5 o'clock and I wait outside the door for them to open and they're always like, we don't have the counter's ready and there's out here waiting. Right. So that's going to be you today.
Starting point is 01:35:30 That's going to be me. And so I want, I want answers. I'm going to go in there and be like, well, what is this? Why is it worse? That's your allergies? Your eyeball is that big because of allergies? Yeah. I mean, he said it's like it was really, really bad.
Starting point is 01:35:42 That's what he said. But, I mean, I don't know. I posted it on Instagram and, you know, everyone's a doctor. That's true. All of our listeners are doctors, which is great for us. It's been a big benefit in my life. The diagnosis, it's great. They're political experts and doctors.
Starting point is 01:35:54 My favorite thing about all of our listeners. Oh, parenting experts too. Oh, and parenting experts too, yes. Well, okay. If it's contagious, I don't want to see you. Well, that's why I didn't want to go in and get you all sick. It could be pink eye guys. Well.
Starting point is 01:36:08 It could be a spider laid eggs in your eye. Mm-hmm. That'd be awesome. Or that. It could be Ebola, eyeball. I've been seeing that's been going around. Measles. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:20 Do you have eye measles? Possibly. All right, we'll check with you later. Let us know. Okay, thanks, guys. I'm going to Google eye measles. There is. Eye measles.
Starting point is 01:36:29 There's a producer ready who is out of here because his eyeball is swollen. Possibly my favorite story of the day. This 27-year-old was arrested after going to Kentucky Fried Chickens and wearing a suit. And every day he ate performance. because he said, hey, I'm quality control officer. I need to make sure the food's up to par. He would walk in from a limousine wearing a suit, and then he would eat samples while in the kitchen with the clipboard.
Starting point is 01:37:03 Yes! Sometimes he'd go on multiple times a week to the same store. They said he knew KFC food so very well that it was very convincing, and especially because he was in a suit and he was getting out of a black car. Okay, or a black car, yeah. How amazing is that? I laugh. I know that's against the law.
Starting point is 01:37:19 law because he's been arrested. Oh, no. Yeah, he's impersonating. That's true. Impersonating an officer of chicken. Yeah. Is that a thing? A chicken officer?
Starting point is 01:37:28 Oh. I mean, that one's okay. It's weird when they impersonate, like, a doctor, and they get away with, like, doing doctor things to people. Yeah, of a septimies. Yeah. That's what happened to me. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:38 Mm-hmm. I read the story about ABC's going for big celebrities, the new season of Dancing with the Stars. Oh, big ones this time. Instead of... Instead of... Instead of... Instead of... Instead of...
Starting point is 01:37:47 ...like me. ...come in and... just win the show. They're going to try everything they can to change up what happened last season. They just can't deny. It's not even about me. Like, our audience is what won that show. Our audience is who breaks artists. Everybody's like, oh, look
Starting point is 01:38:01 crazy Bobby. No, it's the people that listen to this show. I don't do anything. But they say look for some changes with dancing with the stars. At the Disney up front yesterday, ABC's president says, we're going after bigger stars and we haven't a long time. And... That's just, like, funny to read, knowing
Starting point is 01:38:17 that you were on last season. And they're like, we haven't done this in a while, but we're going after big done celebrities that you've heard of. The ones we've had last year, wink, wink. Maybe that's when... We weren't even trying. This year we're going to try. We were just like, put some names in a hat, we'll draw them out.
Starting point is 01:38:34 Yeah. So I saw that. I told you I trolled them and I was like, I can't wait to come back. And then I carried that mirror ball around in all my interviews after American Idol. I just wanted on a claw machine. And people were like, what are you doing with that mirror ball? And I was like, oh, I'm probably going to come back next season of Dancing with the Stars. It's like your hint.
Starting point is 01:38:48 Yeah. So, I don't know much about that, though. I don't know what they're doing with judges or hosts or anything. I don't know if they're switching the whole show up. I plan to go back, episode one, and sit in the crowd, and that's not a big enough start of sitting the crowd. You think they'll give you a seat? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:39:03 Your last year's winner. I'll be back in the balcony. Yeah, the hardcore fans of that show do not like me. Because someone was ripping me last night about it. Like, you were not a good dance. Still? Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:39:15 Time to let it go. They never forget over there. It's time for the good news. Lunchbox. Tell me something good. Man, there's this family. They're out walking the family dog, and the daughters, you know, kind of kicking rocks.
Starting point is 01:39:29 You play that game where you see how far you can kick a rock. She kicks one rock, and she goes, man, that looks kind of like gold. Dad, is this gold? And he goes, actually, it is. And they took it, got it weighed. It's 20 ounces of pure gold worth $25,000. Wow.
Starting point is 01:39:46 Out just walking the family dog. And they wish to remain anonymous. Is it, why would there be gold there? Does someone drop the gold? I guess they said they don't know. So they were going back to search to see if they can find more gold. They were just out on a walk, daughter kicking rocks, and she kicks a piece of gold. I was looking at the news in Japan, if you win the lottery, you can go in in a, because they want to remain anonymous.
Starting point is 01:40:07 In Japan, you can be anonymous. Someone went in a full monkey suit and claimed their lottery winnings. Awesome. Because you don't have to say who you are over there. That's cool. Literally, they were in a full monkey suit, and they were taking a picture, and then they left with their check. That's funny. And you know what's crazy?
Starting point is 01:40:21 Is there walking the family dog? You know what the dog's name is? Oh, let me guess. What would be funny about it? Dog's got to be named like Money. Nugget. Oh, that would be the dog name right there. What is it?
Starting point is 01:40:31 Lucky. Oh. All right, there you go. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. On the Bobby Bones show now. Lauren Elena. If she comes, walking down the hallway, bring her on in.
Starting point is 01:40:46 There she is. in here. Hello, which one? You can sit right there. This is a whole new studio. It's like, who know? We don't know where I am. We don't even know where to sit.
Starting point is 01:40:56 But they're building. Did you see what they were doing to our other studio? No. It's like, it's the whole renovation. Oh. Just for you. I can see.
Starting point is 01:41:02 Just for you. How are you? Good. How are you? Good. Where do we start? Oh, you know what? I have no idea. No, no.
Starting point is 01:41:09 I have something. I'm a super fan for you. Oh, okay. Because earlier we were talking about who we were super fans of. Because, you know, do you know that group of BTS, the Korean Are you familiar with them?
Starting point is 01:41:21 Oh, the headphones aren't working. Yeah, sorry. Listen, we're working progress, Lauren. They're not plugged in. That seems like important for them to work. Are you familiar with the K-pop group, BTS? No. You haven't seen them on Twitter?
Starting point is 01:41:33 No, I know who they are, but I would not say I am familiar with them. Me either. I just see them getting like 20-gall... I saw them like on an award show and that people were freaking out. So... It's like, who is this? People are waiting in line a Good Morning America for a week just to see them from. No way.
Starting point is 01:41:47 And I said, who are you a super fan of? And this guy here named Bryce said Lauren Elena. Really? Yeah. And hey, Bryce, you there, bud? Yes, I am. Okay. Hi, Bryce.
Starting point is 01:41:59 How are you doing? I'm doing good. All right. Hey, Bryce, now I told you, I was going to give you three questions with, and you're the biggest fan ever. So you've had a little time. Don't disappoint me, okay, Bryce? Okay.
Starting point is 01:42:10 All right. Bryce, what is question number one for Lauren Elena, who you're a super fan of? All right. My first question is, do you have a lot of energy when you go out on stage and you're always having a good time? Is there any superstitions that you do or do anything to hype yourself up before you go out and perform a show? Yeah, so I get everybody in my band together and we all have secret like handshakes. And if we don't, yesterday I did a show in town and my guitar player and my utility player were on the other side of the stage and I ran over there to do it.
Starting point is 01:42:46 I'm very superstitious about it. We do handshakes every time. I saw him doing it. That's a good question. That's a good question. All right. What else? Go ahead, Amy.
Starting point is 01:42:54 Oh, well, at the IHeart Festival, they were backstage, and I saw her literally go around and do it with each person. It's for real. It's impressive. Everybody has a different one? Yeah, everyone has a different. We've made them up. Did you ever see the clip of that teacher who had a different handcheck with every single student in their class?
Starting point is 01:43:07 Yes, I love that. Isn't that so cool? Yeah, I thought that was awesome. Bryce, question number two. Go ahead? Question number two is, I know all your songs are amazing, but what is your favorite song to perform for a large crowd? Probably rode less travel because it was my first number one, and everyone sings it.
Starting point is 01:43:32 Yeah. That's a good question, too. Bryce, you're two for two, buddy. Don't let us down, Bryce. All right, good. One more. All right. So my friend is a koala.
Starting point is 01:43:43 So I feel like I'm definitely covalified to ask you this last question. Boy, you got a pun. If you had a support animal. It's a true fan that's dropping a pun. What would it be? I'm so sorry. I talked over. You want? If you had a support animal on the road if you would you say, because I'll pick a koala.
Starting point is 01:44:00 Any support animal you want. A support a sloth. Oh. They're cuddly and they're all-smouth. Have you been to Blake's place and played with the sloth? No. Can I even say that? We don't know what you can say.
Starting point is 01:44:12 Yeah, who cares? He has a sloth. Yeah. Yeah, Blake Shulton has a sloth. Oh, well. I'm going to see him in like two weeks. And I'm telling him I'm coming every saying that's all. Yeah, go over to his.
Starting point is 01:44:23 And by the way, it's hard to get to his place. You have to drive through back roads like crazy. And all of a sudden, it's like, everything you shouldn't have. It's like, it's crazy. Hey, how do you feel about that, Bryce? You feel good about that? I do. This is so awesome.
Starting point is 01:44:38 I went to talk about before. I actually made my friends get to read 91 two and a half hours early just so I could be along the railing for you for the first time. and you've been on such an amazing show, so this has been a lot of fun. Oh, thank you so much. Look at this guy. Well, listen, Bryce, what can we send Bryce that Lauren can sign or something? Do we have anything?
Starting point is 01:44:58 Hey, Bryce, where do you live? I live in Austin, Texas, which you, I was running amazing at the daytime village. He said you waved at him. I did? Yeah, earlier. Do you just wave at a lot of sections? I know. Were you the guy that was jumping up and down?
Starting point is 01:45:15 I was the guy No, you're not. Do you know who this is really? I don't know who it is. No. But it's not very often like a guy is a super fan of mine. But do you remember this guy you think?
Starting point is 01:45:27 I do think so. Yeah. Because you just called him out. In a cowboy hat, right? I think. Wait, were you in a cowboy hat? If that's true, then I quit the show because Lauren is the greatest guest of all time.
Starting point is 01:45:36 Go ahead. There's not a cowboy hat. I have my arm brace on. You're like jumping up and down to the left of the stage. Yes. That was me. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:45:47 Like over by the fits. And luckily me, I looked at tickets to Chicago. I did think you had a cat boy had on. I do remember. Going off to the stage again, but wearing my koala onesie, that way I can qualify to be your next boyfriend. Wait, you? I just did like that question thing on Instagram. That was you?
Starting point is 01:46:01 I know. Well, it looks like you guys have a long history. We didn't do it. Dang. And he wants to date you. So that would be normal. Right. Here's the rule.
Starting point is 01:46:13 Remember, I said this to Lunchbox. He's trying to be best friends with Johnny Banan. is. I was like you can't be full super fan if you want to have a relationship with someone. You at least have to play a call and trick them before you admit you're a superfan. You're trying to date me? Are you trying to date me, Bryce? He quit. He's tired.
Starting point is 01:46:34 I didn't hear the question. Are you trying to date me? So, we actually play for the same team, so I don't think that's going to work out in either of our favor. But I'm still a huge super fan. Okay, well, listen, Bryce, appreciate you. I think he's
Starting point is 01:46:50 Are you gay? Is that what it is? Yes. He said same team. So they both like guys. Oh, okay. Yeah. Bryce, love you. Probably wouldn't work out for us then. Thank you for calling the show. And I'm glad you got to talk to your hero. We'll be best friends, Bryce. How about that? That sounds like a great plan to me. And I definitely appreciate your guys this time. This has been really, really fun. Thank you. All right, bud. See you later. Thanks for calling. Yes, thank you. All right, there is. There's Bryce. I think since you're here, I'm going to go and play your song. You go with that?
Starting point is 01:47:21 Yeah. Or do you not want to hear it at all? Oh, I would love for you to play my song. Right. Lauren Elena is here. We're going to play ladies in the 90s. And anything you want to say before I hit play about this song? No, it's like so much fun life.
Starting point is 01:47:35 I've started to notice the people singing it at the shows. My music video is coming out very soon. It's like I just finally approved it. Like next week, next couple weeks kind of thing? We don't have like an exact date, but I would say in the next two weeks. it'll be out. On the Bobby Bones show now. Lauren Elena.
Starting point is 01:47:55 We had a development while we were at a break there. By the way, Lauren Elena, our good friend, our close friend. I would say maybe one of my closest in all of country music. Right? What are you? Yeah. Like, we actually are friends outside of this forsaken place. We are.
Starting point is 01:48:14 Why are you so nervous right now? I'm not. Because here's what happened. There's a dude outside in the hallway. And I was like, hey, what's that? I know who that dude is. And it's the dude who's in all Lauren's Insta stories. And I hit Lauren up a couple weeks ago, and I was like, hey, I'm just going to go and put you on this, Lauren, because I can't.
Starting point is 01:48:33 I was like, hey, when are you going to say that you and this dude are dating? And you were like, well, what did you say back to me? I don't remember. She's so nervous right now. You said to me, well, we're just on together. And some people ask. And I say, yeah, but we don't really announce. I said when people ask us, we say we are, but we're not really like announcing it.
Starting point is 01:48:55 I have never seen her so timid in her whole lot of after right now. It wasn't even going to be an announcement, but he's here. Would you like to introduce him? Yeah, this is my boyfriend. Are you crying? Do you have a tear in your eyes? This is the weirdest thing. This does feel very like junior high.
Starting point is 01:49:15 Yeah, it is. This is my boyfriend, John, Christ. Ladies and gentlemen, John Christ is going to talk before this, but I didn't know if I could jump in until I was officially introduced. You can jump in whenever you want. Which, by the way, John Christ is a super funny comedian. Wait, so how did you guys meet? Well, who do you want to tell the story?
Starting point is 01:49:37 Well, let's go with Lauren first, and you can tell your version. I'll interject. I responded to one of his Instagram videos. We call that sliding to the DM. Wow. Yeah. And I said, ha ha, you're funny. And then he said,
Starting point is 01:49:53 Oh, no, you don't have to tell the story. No, you do have to tell the story. Okay, this is not. This is the truth. If it's true, go ahead. This is the truth. And I was like telling people this story, and he said it wasn't true, and I pulled it up and showed them. We went back.
Starting point is 01:50:07 We went back in the archives. He said, I, too, grew up performing in church in Georgia. Was his first response to me. I said, is this guy know everything about me? Oh, wow. Oh, wow. You went straight psycho.
Starting point is 01:50:24 He just knew that about her? Did you Google? Were you on the phone earlier asking her questions? Was that you, her super fan earlier? I was wearing a cowboy here. No, I was like, well, you joke around it now? Because, like, a DM, I saw it. Like, I know country music, like,
Starting point is 01:50:41 Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan. I don't, we, you know this, but I don't know all the way to, like, Lauren, I'm not that. Oh, how much further down? No, I'm just saying, I'm not further. Ow! But I see, no, but I saw, we said, we joked wrong because the only reason we're here is because
Starting point is 01:50:56 she had like a blue check mark by her name. Yeah. So I was like, oh. She must be important if she's messaging you with the blue check mark. Well, that's how I live my life. If you don't have one, I'm like, you know what I'm saying? Like, why? That's a joke.
Starting point is 01:51:08 It's the worst. So I was like, I looked her up, so I didn't want to be like, who are you? So I went, I guess, your Wikipedia page. And that's what it said right at the top. was like, oh, I guess we have that in Congress. So you just decided to throw it in there immediately? Looking back, it was the wrong move. I don't think it was the wrong move.
Starting point is 01:51:26 Obviously, here we are now. So, okay, so you replied, because John's a really funny comedian. Would you consider yourself, like, classified as a Christian comedian? Because I don't consider you, I'm going to tell you what I consider and you tell me if I'm wrong or right. I can say it was just a funny guy who works clean. I'll take that. I'll take that. Yeah, that's what I would call myself that. I'm going to introduce myself as that.
Starting point is 01:51:47 Bunny guy who works. She always tries to like knock him. She's like, he's a comedian. And everybody's like, who? She's like, he's a Christian comedian. I do do that. It's embarrassing. Why would that be?
Starting point is 01:51:58 No, just to like, Lauren, why don't you tell him? Yeah, why is that embarrassing? Well, no, just because like, no one would ever say, well, I guess they would say, I'm a country music singer. Yeah. So I guess it's not. But he's always like, okay, when I say, he's a comedian. Then I go, he's a Christian comedian. Well, Creed is a band.
Starting point is 01:52:16 But they're all Christians. Yeah, yeah. But they're not a Christian, but they're not a Christian band. They're not like in family bookstore. Do you ever, but you'll do venues that's not a church. Yeah. So I'd say you're a comedian that works clean.
Starting point is 01:52:27 It's also a Christian. And he's hilarious. He is super funny. Yeah, it's very funny. Yeah, well, it just depends on. I have helped him quite a bit in his jokes lately. Okay, here we go. You write his material?
Starting point is 01:52:36 I am. Yeah. And I don't get any credit. And I was just told that people get paid to do that. And I've been doing it for free. So. She's like, I mean, yes, we are in a relationship. Is it true?
Starting point is 01:52:46 I'm here for the inspiration of the. Oh, she's your muse. Yeah, yeah. You know how like Taylor Swift, when she breaks up, she has a hit song? That's kind of like what we're doing here. Have you written any material on the relationship with Lauren? Okay, I only have one. This is like a kind of like a, it didn't really work on stage.
Starting point is 01:53:05 But I took so I'm 35. Her mom is 45 and she's 24. So I'm closer to her mom's age. Oh. than her. So it's like when her and her mom are always like arguing about stuff, I'm kind of, I'm literally in the middle. So I'm trying to like, I'm like, babe, like actually your mom makes some good points.
Starting point is 01:53:27 You should save your money. Wait, how did that one not work? I love it. We probably didn't do it as well. You and her mom can like bond over Chumbawamba. Yes. Oh my gosh. Do you have more in common with her mom? No.
Starting point is 01:53:43 We like bring up stuff and she's like, I've never like, of this. I'm like, well, okay. But the one joke is my buddies in like, he loves your high school buddies in a group text that you're still like your best friends. My buddy the other day is like, John, you realize when we were in, when we were going to prom, she was in first grade. That's not true. You don't have to say it like that, exactly. Was I in first grade? Third grade.
Starting point is 01:54:09 But doesn't matter. That's so. I was actually in third grade. John, it's disrespectful. It's third grade. Oh, that makes it way better. Lauren Elena is here and John Chris Which by the way I guess you guys are officially a thing now huh? I guess so
Starting point is 01:54:22 Yeah His mom I've met his mom a couple of times Now is his mom 24 Because that would totally be A cool thing if you were closer With a mom No
Starting point is 01:54:31 No But she She's always called me his friend Like You know mom She's When time she said to me I did not
Starting point is 01:54:41 I did not know what to do She goes Lauren, I have enjoyed you so much. You're just so sweet. This is my mom's voice. She's sweeter than me. Lauren. And I've just like really enjoyed yours and John's friendship in this time.
Starting point is 01:55:01 So I was like, well. That's sincere. That's sweet. Thank you, Anne. Did she know you guys were together? Yes. Does she not like that you're together? Well, John hasn't introduced them to a girl.
Starting point is 01:55:14 10 years. I think they're all just like... You haven't. You're 35. Are you allowed to have a girlfriend? No, she just... They're very shocked, I think. That what you like... That he's bringing like a girl around. He doesn't do that. I was with...it stagecoach with your earlier caller. Oh. People think you're gay? No, I don't think so. They make a lot of jokes on my like stories because I make a lot of like a feminine like characters. I love it. It's perfect.
Starting point is 01:55:40 And then people always make jokes about it. But you haven't had a girlfriend in 10 years? No. What happened? What are you scared of? Okay, guys. This is the best thing that's ever happened to me. Lauren Elena and John Krista here. What happened?
Starting point is 01:55:55 No, you and Bobby can maybe talk about this. Or maybe date whenever Lauren is. Okay. Well, you know, like, the kind of career has always been, like, people say that sometimes you're like married to, like, comedy will always be like your mistress, kind of, is what they say. Do they say that about what you do? I mean, you perform, you know what it's like. It's amazing, right?
Starting point is 01:56:16 Yeah, and awful. Feels pretty good. Yeah, mostly awful, but yeah, it also feels pretty good. It's like you walk out on stage and you have thousands of friends, and then you go back to your room alone and you have no friends. Can we just, let me be on your podcast. We will dissect this. Yeah, come by the house.
Starting point is 01:56:28 It's a great idea. I've said that a million times. Yeah, oh, yeah, you go from being the coolest guy in the room to the loneliest guy, like, like that. But you decide now, did you find a place? Like, you went to some therapy and now you're like, I can actually be with someone? Well, I was actually. God kind of like told me he's like hey there's this girl she's really struggling in her life you need to help oh no no no I'm just saying it's not like no I was like I honestly would rather stay single but she's like she really needs you
Starting point is 01:56:56 she's really struggling really taking over the team yeah I mean so it's kind of like god told me it's hard to argue she's 24 mom's 45 conveniently also you can be you can be the bridge between those two yeah you know what yeah yeah oh look at you too goodness great so why do you have Yeah, well, Bobby often says, I mean, because Bobby is in comedy entertainment, like all the things, but a lot of people that you look up to in that field, I mean, I'm not that big into the comedy world, but that it's a very actually dark place for comedians, but being a Christian comedian, like, I mean, is it similar to, like you've got a lot of that, but you're just coming out. Like, Bobby is a very clean show, too.
Starting point is 01:57:41 Yeah, I work completely clean. But for me, I think I was just searching for love. So that's why I do anything. Just please love me. Well, first of all, let's have this conversation between me and you. Because Lauren always likes to say she's funny in her show, but she's not comedian. She's like, I'm funny too. Lauren, I must take up for him because you're not supposed to be funny.
Starting point is 01:57:58 So anything you say that's funny is like you're just playing with house money. Thank you. It's like people don't expect it. And if you don't say something funny, they don't even know you're trying to be funny. They just think you're talking. I went to the first time I saw her at the Ryman. It went out through his show was it. It was that funny.
Starting point is 01:58:12 It was like Darius was doing Darius and Friends or something. Yeah, I played that. You played that. John went to that. I was on Broadway somewhere. She's like, well, I was like, she's like, I got a show and I walked over. And I was like, I knew she was like a singer, but then she was like being all like charming and hilarious. And as a comedian, I was in the back.
Starting point is 01:58:29 I was like, I don't like any of this. I don't like any of this. She's so. She's good at everything. Yeah. I was like, I got one skill. And she'd take that for me too. Great.
Starting point is 01:58:38 Maybe there's like a comedy music special between you. Oh, that would be awesome. No, that's... But then imagine it would take like a year to be in production and then it would finally come out, but you'd be broken up and it'd be awkward. That would be really weird. We were trying to discuss...
Starting point is 01:58:55 Now, granted, it's the Bobby Bowen Show, so we have... But I was like, is the story John Christ has a new girlfriend or Lauren Elaine as a new boyfriend? The story would be if you're both on a plane and it crashed, who would get the top billing of the headline? Yes. And it would definitely be Lauren. 100%.
Starting point is 01:59:11 Yeah. Good point. That's a good point. I didn't think about it like that. Yeah. I mean, if we go to First Baptist, I'm the top of that headline. Did you ever do comedy in church? Yes. My dad was a preacher. So you would go and actually use them as your audience? 100%. Yeah. For a long time. Do you remember your first joke? Your first church joke? Oh, man. I had, let's see. With the first joke I ever told, this is embarrassing. But I was like, I went, so I was like being hilarious at church. You have been to church, there's like a guy after the worship service. He comes up and does the announcement. So I was like being the funny guy.
Starting point is 01:59:45 But then I went to like, they were like, you should go to a comedy club. And I went in all confident. I was like, yeah, I'm going to be hilarious. And they were like, no, thank you. Because your church laughs at you because they're all nice. I was like, what's the deal with David Bashiba? They're like, boo. What's the deal with Methuselah?
Starting point is 01:59:59 Was it really that old? Do you actually have a joke about that? No, but kind of. But they say the best comics who say, if you're going to be great, you should just write about what you know about. So if you're like, I grew up in church, my dad's a preacher, I was homeschooled, I used to work at Chick-fil-A. Like, I'm all the Christian things. So I just started writing about that.
Starting point is 02:00:26 Wow, you worked at Chick-fil-A, that's like cherry on top. You should go to a Chick-fil-A with him. It is hilarious. Well, is it like a special language? They like crawl out the window to talk to him. They are so excited. I have never seen anything like it. It's like, the favorite son has come home?
Starting point is 02:00:41 Yeah. Hey, at Chick-fil-A, I am his girlfriend. It is for sure John Chris has a girlfriend. And she's in the passenger seat, and we don't see her. We think she's there. But... I just make a lot of content about Chick-fil-A. That's probably one.
Starting point is 02:00:56 Listen to this. Well, Lauren, this was... This has been fun with you, too. I had a whole bunch of stuff for you. Let me run into these questions with you real quick. Okay. All right. Lauren Elena's here.
Starting point is 02:01:05 By the way, ladies in the 90s. That's her song. What is your Uber rating, Lauren? Do you know? I'm really upset about it. I just saw. I have a 4.2. What?
Starting point is 02:01:15 Wow. I've never met anyone with the Uber rating that low. Are you peeing in the car? Hey, babe, this has been great and awesome. That is. How can that be doing? You've got to be talking.
Starting point is 02:01:24 But I was talking. Yeah, she's got to be talking. No, I was talking to my Uber driver about it, and they started giving bad ratings to people who don't give ratings for their driver. But they can't know. That's what my Uber driver told me. They can't know.
Starting point is 02:01:39 Not accurate. No, that driver doesn't. Uber will give you a bad rating. If you're not rating. Well, you have a 4.2. I just check mine just to make sure. So I can make fun of you properly. I'm a 4.7.
Starting point is 02:01:49 Let me just look. Lauren, what emoji would you use to describe your life? The poop emoji. How do you find your rating? Show them how to find your rating. This one. Go ahead. The one with the big eyes.
Starting point is 02:02:05 I'm going to tell you my Uber rating. I'm going to find it. Oh, wow. Of course. Of course. Can you announce this? He probably gets out of the car and says, my pleasure. Oh, I have a 4.85.
Starting point is 02:02:15 Oh, you're good. John Chris has an Uber rating of 4.98. Come on. Somebody's friendly. Who's out of whose league? Wow, that's true. I think you need to kind of step up and find a great. I have a 4.85.
Starting point is 02:02:29 I don't know why I thought it was low. When God told me, he said it was going to be a trial when he told me to date her. So, you know, he didn't say it was all going to be perfect. You guys had a lot of talk about Lauren specifically. Well, I'm very important. Let me find my overrating here. God knows what's that. Is that real?
Starting point is 02:02:45 A 4.85. Do you tip Lauren every time you get out? Yes. Honestly? No. Well, I don't tip every time I get out, but when I go back... You got a higher one than me. I have 4.82.
Starting point is 02:02:56 Okay, so I'm higher than everyone but John. I feel good about that. You did say 4.2. Be used to that. One more. Lauren, what's your favorite... What's the last show you binge? Hold on.
Starting point is 02:03:07 What was that question we missed? What? Now I want to know. What's the last show you've beenged? Oh, I don't know if I... I'm, like, currently binging one. I don't know if I can say it. Wise?
Starting point is 02:03:23 Like Oz? On HBO and you're... It's called Shits Creek. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I got in trouble for saying it. S-C-H-I-T-T. I don't know, can that go on the air? I tried to ask.
Starting point is 02:03:35 It can. Right, S-C-H. Well, the show isn't at Earth's where. Yes, it's the name of the show. Oh, you should just have spelled it. S-C-H-I-T-T-S. I think that's how they spell it, right? This is why my mom calls her my friend.
Starting point is 02:03:51 Because of this right here. She's concerned. I could have just made up a different show, I guess. Sorry about that. My mom's having a heart attack, literally, if she's listening. So here we are. Lauren, you have been extremely nervous. I'll show along.
Starting point is 02:04:06 It's been great. John, it's good to meet you, man. Hey, we're going to do a show together. Come to the house. Yeah. Come to the house. We'll do the podcast. We'll talk about our problems.
Starting point is 02:04:15 I mean, don't you get into any sort of performing because you have problems. Yeah. No one wakes. That's what I've said. No one wakes up. You're like, hey, you know those 8,000 people? I'm going to make them laugh for an hour. Just me.
Starting point is 02:04:25 Nobody well adjusted. No one. No one. Goes, I must prove myself to people right this moment. And like the feedback, like they said the biggest, everybody's biggest fear is public speaking. Multiply that times 100 as a comedian. Because if it doesn't go well, Everyone knows.
Starting point is 02:04:41 And it never goes well for a long time. And then even when it's going great, there are times where it doesn't go well. And it shouldn't go well all the time where you're not trying anything new. It's called a TED Talk. That is. I didn't know anything about comedy when. Did you need to go into this right now? I started, no, I was just going to say he took me to like my first like comedy club ever.
Starting point is 02:05:00 And there was this guy that like. I don't know what you're about to say. Did really bad. Oh, yeah, yeah. It's like open mic night. And he did really bad. And I wanted to cry for him. It was like...
Starting point is 02:05:13 It's awkward. Very uncomfortable for everyone involved, and he had to, like, walk off... I was like, if that happened to me on stage. You're going to go hug him? I did. I said, John, can I go hug him? He said, no. He's fine.
Starting point is 02:05:28 He's... He came out here voluntarily. And he'll grow from it. He'll either grow or go, one of the two. What's your favorite joke, John? My favorite joke of all time? The favorite joke that you do that makes you feel good. I always said my favorite joke ever is a, I was with Jeff Foxworthy.
Starting point is 02:05:48 This is one of his jokes. He's like, you know, he might be redneck if your son's name is Dale Jr. And your name's not Dale. There he is. Come on. That's not even me. The claps are for him. Hey, we'll give it up for Jeff Foxwood.
Starting point is 02:06:03 Yeah. It has been wonderful. Lauren Elena, always good to see you. Good to see you. John Chris. Are we allowed back or not? You are. And if there's it, if there's a...
Starting point is 02:06:12 I will be back. How about any time we have any kind of adjustment, breakup or engagement, we have to come here. We'll just do every time. This will be the announcement. Yeah. It's like if you haven't heard on the Bobby Bone Show, it doesn't exist. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 02:06:25 Wow, do y'all talk engagement? No, no, no, no, no. I'm just saying she's like... Okay, but do you talk breakup? No, we don't. We don't. We don't. All right.
Starting point is 02:06:35 Thank you. I'm going to, I'm going to finish this up. We've spent a lot of time together. Lauren, again, you're my favorite. You're my favorite. John, you're like 16th. But still, I feel like it's... Top 20.
Starting point is 02:06:46 And climbing. I definitely brought you up higher on the list. You're welcome. He came in with the favorite, so it gets you some brownie points. You're now together that had to be an awkward come in knowing you're bringing them in. What was the conversation like in the car bringing John up here? I said, please don't say anything to embarrass me. It is live.
Starting point is 02:07:02 That is true. All right. We're going to go. Amy, anything you want to say. Lauren Elena and John Chris. I'm super happy for y'all. Nuk. Country's funniest couple.
Starting point is 02:07:09 I love it. Literally, who just started dating her, she already has a list of, like, baby names. Okay, that is not true. I was like, this is a little early for this. Dale Jr.? Is that one of that? Hey, if I hear, like, a baby name and I like it, I put it in, like, a baby name folder. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 02:07:23 Is that scary as a new boy friend to see that? But it has nothing to do with him, just like, whoever I have kids with, this is what my kids name is going to be. We need female listeners. It's nothing to do with him. I'm, yeah. Female listeners need to tweet and say, do they do this? 100% I know that they do.
Starting point is 02:07:39 People do this or do they not do it. But if you do, make sure it's a way so we don't stumble across this. Right. Because I feel like if Bobby was on a first date and the girl like the waiter had a cool name and she was like, excuse me. I couldn't enter this into my phone.
Starting point is 02:07:51 First day? That wouldn't bother you? Not first day because she's not already making plans to name her kid Cali. She had it in the book before you. I think John knows I'm not really making plans to have babies. With him.
Starting point is 02:08:04 With him. With him. Just say it like that. All right. We're going to go. Lauren Elena, John Chris, Lauren, John. Do y'all just laugh like the whole time you were together? Yes.
Starting point is 02:08:13 I watched Lauren's Instagram story of her. You guys at the baseball game, it sounds game, and laugh my butt off, man. We'll follow Lauren and John because they're funny on Instagram. That's all. I have to hit the button. We're going to be here all day. We'll see you guys soon, right? There they are.
Starting point is 02:08:30 So the big Twitter debate was, do you wash your legs while showering? Because before you just yell yes, the water actually goes down your leg. leg. A lot of people go, oh, that washes it for me. Like they don't actually scrub their legs. I never really thought about it. Well, I have, and I have an answer. Well, geez. Are that sassy? Go ahead.
Starting point is 02:08:51 Like, probably leg washer? Yeah. Yes, you wash your legs with a lufa. It wash everywhere. All the way down. A recent Twitter controversy erupted after someone says, do you wash your legs? Do we take a shower? Lunchbox.
Starting point is 02:09:05 I wash my legs, but I've never washed my feet. Ever. Like I'll rub some soap on my legs On my thigh on my shin But I've never gone down And put soap on my feet I'm thinking about this I don't think ever wash
Starting point is 02:09:17 Actually I do the whole On my back of my leg You know the uh Oh you do the backs? I never done the backs I do the joint The back of the joint But I don't ever go
Starting point is 02:09:27 I don't watch my calves I guess I feel like everything Just kind of washes it away Yeah I mean You're pretty clean anyway So I'm sure it's fine Am I though I do shower twice a day
Starting point is 02:09:38 Yes, okay, then you're good. I do in the morning, and unless I'm spray tanned, and then those fresh spray tans after the TV show, I'm trying everything I can't and I have to wash. Showering on cold, barely letting water hit you. Actually, I let the water run. I just reach in there real quick. I just jump in real quick and I put the part in
Starting point is 02:09:54 that needs to be watched and then pull it back out. We're wrapping for today. Around the room, let's see what's going on with everybody. Amy, you're up. What's happening? Starting point is 02:10:13 Now say something about it though. Like, what is it? Well, I mean, we cover four different things each time. So a lifestyle thing. So tomorrow will be something that you'll be able to hear. You've got a segment with a therapist about perfectionism. So if you're someone that struggles with that, like striving for that, how you can dial that back. All right.
