it's not that coach will actually take you there they'll definitely guide you
but the responsibility is on you to implement take those actions and do it consistently
i will say when it comes to personal development as well as spiritual development
that is going to help grow your business because your mind is going to be expanded. Welcome to the Boss Babe podcast,
a place where we share the real behind the scenes of building successful businesses,
achieving peak performance, and learning how to balance it all. I'm Natalie Ellis,
CEO and co-founder of Boss Babe and your host for this episode. Today, we are back with another
bonus episode with two
amazing women that were in our Soul Strategy and Success Mastermind last year, Olanike Osi and Liv
Conlon. Now, both of these women come from completely different business worlds. Liv has
a service-based business, Staging Homes, and Olanike has two businesses, an app called Selfish
Babe and a women's holistic wellness
company. But they have one thing in common and that is that they were both able to scale to
seven figures. I guess another thing in common is that they both worked with us, which it was
amazing. They are incredible, incredible women. Now for many, scaling to seven figures might seem
completely unattainable, almost impossible to achieve. It seems like this big mystical number but these women are just proof that when you work hard, stick to your goals and most importantly
believe in yourself, anything is possible. So in this interview they really give us some insight
into their journeys as young successful entrepreneurs and what that's looked like for
both of them and I get into specifically the marketing, everything that they did to help them
get there. I wanted to dissect. They also touched on learnings along the way from courses they did
to the books that they loved, as well as being in our mastermind. And I always say, it's always
super important to continue learning from others who've achieved success, but no matter how much
money you throw in a mentor, a course, a mastermind. It only works if you implement what you learn into yourself and
your business. It only works if you actually take action. So they might have, you know, had completely
different businesses, but they have had massive success in different ways. And they are prime
examples of how there's no real specific way to get to seven figures. There are so many different
routes you can take. There are a million different ways to get to a million dollars. So before I dive in, I just want to say how amazing it has been to work alongside these
women.
They really are incredible.
And I am so honored to have them be on the podcast and be guests as well as being able
to work with them.
They are really making a difference in the world.
And I'm so glad I get to share them with you today.
So with that, let's jump straight in.
And as always, take a screenshot, share your biggest takeaways and Insta stories, tag me at IamNatalie and at BossBabe.inc. A Boss Babe is unapologetically ambitious and paves the way for
herself and other women to rise, keep going and fighting on. She is on a mission to be her best
self in all areas. It's just believing in yourself.
Confidently stepping outside her comfort zone to create her own version of success.
Okay, I'm so excited to be doing this and I want to jump in right at the deep end because both of you are absolutely incredible and you've actually both made a million dollars at a pretty
young age before each of you hit 30 which is so incredible and I know there are a lot of women
listening to this who have that million dollar goal in their mind but the idea of getting to
there just seems so unachievable and so Liv I want to start with you and I want to jump into the story that led you to making your
first million dollars. So where did your idea come from firstly? And then I want you to talk us
through getting your idea and then hitting a point of traction. Yeah, of course. And I can totally
agree with you there where we're not, some people don't feel ready to hit that a million dollar mark
and I felt the exact same.
For me, I started my business when I was 16. And it's a home staging business where we stage properties for sale, making them look like a show home. That idea was born out of my mom was
investing in property, the property wasn't selling. So I decided to stage the property.
It had sat on the market for three months,
and then it sold within three days above the valuation price.
So at 16, I realized this could be a great business idea.
I started networking.
I looked 16.
I was in a male-dominated industry, which was quite challenging.
But I guess for me, I just hit it at the right point.
It was an industry that was
in its infancy. I was probably one of the first people to do it in the UK. And for the first year,
the first year I turned over £30,000, about $40,000. And it was going okay. I hadn't set
any goals with it. I was just sort of aiming what I was just didn't even have any aims
or goals with it until I sat down I put a vision board together and then in the next 18 months we
hit that a million pound mark which was massive and I think one of the reasons why we got there
was we were willing to pivot at different moments we seen what was happening in the market
we changed our complete product strategy and we launched a new service expanded our area we went
from a local area to nationwide so I think for me it was just about keeping an eye on what was
happening around about me and then being able to pivot with the business. I love that yeah and for
Americans listening they're probably hearing home staging yeah that's a thing but in the UK especially
when you started it wasn't really a thing and I can relate because when I had launched my first
product-based business I was creating powders that you put into smoothies which sounds very
normal now but at the time and especially in the UK it just wasn't the case. And Olenike, I know you have a similar story in that you found a product that you really
wanted to sell and you actually made your first million through e-com.
And so what was that journey like for you?
How was that journey?
I would say it's been a beautiful journey so far.
I'm extremely blessed to be where I'm at at this moment.
And when I had first started, I started
selling shea butters online, scented shea butters online and t-shirts. And when I was 22, I began
learning about holistic healing. I began learning about the womb, the vagina, affirmations, crystals,
power of your words. And so when I began learning that is when I had changed over my business to
focus primarily on women and called it Goddess Detox.
And at that time, I was using a product that I now call the Goddess Vaginal Detox Pearls, but an herbal vaginal suppository.
And I saw the great results that it did for me, and I wanted to share it with other women.
And when I started selling them and sharing the success stories, there were so many women that either couldn't
get pregnant. And I literally had one customer where I was like following her whole entire
journey where she couldn't get pregnant. She finally told me she was pregnant. I got some
clothes. I bought some baby clothes for the company for her baby because she waited years
and years to get pregnant. Or like women that had horrible menstrual cramps or PCOS or endometriosis
or just not feeling super horrible
on your period because a lot of women will feel super horrible or get cramps to the point where
they can't even go to work. And so when I began sharing those stories on Instagram and I learned
how to do Instagram advertising and Instagram marketing, that's when I saw a real pickup in my business. When I was looking back at my sales
from 2018, 2017, I saw that, wow, some months I made $1,000 and I was so happy. I was so happy
to make $1,000 that month. And then now it's like, I make more than $1,000 a day. Now we're at $35,000
a day in sales. And for me, I'm just so shocked because I'm just like, wow, I wanted this a long
time ago. And I believe that I could get there. But when you're in the journey, it's still tough
to sometimes because it's like even with e-commerce, it's like we have the amount that
you have in sales and you see that. But then you got to take away some of the money when it comes
to shipping and product costs and different things like that. But for me, I'm just extremely grateful. And it wasn't until I learned about Instagram advertising that I really saw sales
pick up. And when I say Instagram advertising, I'm not talking about the way people do it now,
which is they use Facebook ads and do their Facebook ads, their advertising on Instagram.
I'm talking about back in the day where I learned where you can hit up different
Instagram pages that had a good following and say, Hey, I have this product I want to promote
on your page. What are your prices? Some people back then they would charge $50, $25, $100.
And then what I would do is I would give them my picture and my caption, they would post it, and then the people from their
audience would see my product come to my page. And when they're on my page, I make sure that my
page has already been set up in a way that is already showing reviews, showing my products,
my link is in my bio. And so then after they see that advertisement, then now they see my page,
they're like, oh, wow, look at all these reviews. Oh, wow, this is informative. Click the link in my bio.
And when they click the link in my bio, now they're more wanting to spend money with me
because they see the value versus maybe paying for an Instagram promotion. And then I don't have
anything related to my products on my page. So for me, Instagram advertising has been the way that I
grew to get a million dollars in sales. And now I'm in like my fifth year in business. And this
is what I'm just now really learning and honing in on Facebook ads. I still currently do Instagram
advertising as well as using social media influencers for my products. But for me,
marketing is something that I highly
stress when it comes to the boss page listening in terms of, I feel like for me getting to my
first million dollars, you can post about your stuff all day long, but if nobody knows about
your products or you're not putting your products in front of a new audience, then for me, I don't
know how the money's coming. I know there's organic growth and that's cool too.
But again, organic growth is there because you're putting your product in front of new faces and new eyes. And for me, that was really important for me to make my first million as well as continue
to see the continuous growth that I'm seeing now. I love that. And you're touching on such an
important point where I see a lot of people posting on social media, they make good content
and they think, okay, if I make really really good content then followers are going to come or if I make a really
good product then sales are going to come and it's just not the way it works it really is making sure
that whole journey is dialed in you're actually getting traffic to your page to your website
because if no one is seeing what you're doing you can have the best product or best service in the
world and you'll not make sales and the reason I want to have you both on here is you
both have completely different businesses in totally different industries from service-based
in person to online e-com yet you've both been able to achieve massive success and I know you've
also bought it in very different ways and I want people listening
to see that there's not one specific route to success and there's not one specific way to do
things and yes we'll all talk about and promote our ways but there are a million different ways
to get to that million dollars and so Liv I want to come back to you and talk about that 18 months
where you saw your business go from I think you you said, $40,000 to a million dollars. What marketing did you do and what did you maybe change? I know you
said you were really willing to pivot, which I think is such an important thing to be able to
say because when you're starting your business, it can be really easy to just stick to the path
and opportunities come your way and you're not willing to take them. So what did you do? What
marketing tactics would you recommend when you're scaling in scaling in that way yeah so the first year that
I was in business it was all in person marketing that I was doing so it was offline I was going to
networking events I was building relationships and I was one of those people that really didn't
enjoy being online I updated my profile probably once a year with a new profile
picture. But I remember the day that I started to post what I was doing, it was on Facebook at the
time, and I ended up getting like 120 likes. And I had three messages of people wanting to work with
me, which was totally weird for someone that hated being
online. And from there, I realized, actually, if I start to share what I'm doing, and a little bit
about my journey, because I was 17, I thought that was actually something that was going to hold me
back my age, but people loved my story, wanted to work with me. So over that space of that next 18 months, I was on social media
every day and mainly on camera because what I do is so visual. So I was giving people tours of the
property so they could see the product in place and what they could get if they worked with me.
So that transition from going completely offline to online for me was massive.
And at the time, the Airbnb market was growing and I could see that.
So I actually dived into that side of the business,
company to start manufacturing our own furniture.
I expanded the team.
We were covering initially a 30 mile radius. We expanded into a 600 mile radius and the business transformed. And I think
it was 12 months in, we got our first $300,000 contract. We took us a week to carry out that work.
And that was when I started to really build momentum with the business. And of course,
posting a massive installation like that just fueled our social.
But everything we'd done on social at the time was completely organic.
So paid marketing to me is very new.
But I think organic worked so well for us because we completely stood out in the marketplace.
There was nobody offering what we had, sharing their journey like I was.
And we were just totally different.
Let's take a quick pause to talk about my new favorite all-in-one platform Kajabi. You know I've been singing their praises lately
because they have helped our business run so much smoother and with way less complexity which I love
not to mention our team couldn't be happier because now everything is in one place so it
makes collecting data, creating pages, collecting payment, all the things so much simpler.
One of our mottos at Boss Babe is simplify to amplify and Kajabi has really helped us do that
this year. So of course I needed to share it here with you. It's the perfect time of year to do a
bit of spring cleaning in your business, you know, get rid of the complexity and instead really focus
on getting organized and making things as smooth as possible I definitely recommend Kajabi to all of my clients and students so if
you're listening and haven't checked out Kajabi yet now is the perfect time to do so because they
are offering Boss Babe listeners a 30-day free trial go to kajabi.com slash boss babe to claim
your 30-day free trial that's kajabi.com slash boss babe to claim your 30-day free trial. That's Kajabi.com slash Boss Babe.
I love that.
And I just want to ask, so in the beginning, you were talking a lot about doing offline
marketing and going to network events.
And how many hours a week were you working?
Because I think this big misconception that you start your own business and you work your
own hours and the beginning part of your journey is easy.
And we all know that's not the case.
And entrepreneurship is not like that. So what did that look like behind the scenes for you yeah I can
totally relate with this so I would say for the first three years that I was in business I was
working 18 to 22 hour days and it was mainly because I was a one-man band for so long I was
literally doing everything I was invoicing I was meeting the-man band for so long. I was literally doing everything. I was invoicing. I was meeting the clients.
There was actually situations where I was carrying sofas up three flights of stairs
myself to save 50 quid.
It was just insane.
So that first year for me was crazy.
When we expanded our team, it was still such long hours because I was so determined so driven to get the business where
I wanted it to go that it really did require that hustle so I did hustle my ass off for years
and has that changed it has changed I now work I do I've always had a great work ethic I do more
balance now but I've still got massive goals I mean I'm only 21 I'm still working
hard I love that and I want to talk a little bit about the same journey with you all on UK
and marketing so you were saying you were doing the Instagram shoutouts I actually remember those
I did those myself too and just starting to pivot and try Facebook ads you also have an app which
my guess is it's a whole different
marketing game. And so talk to me a little bit about the app. What made you decide to create
the app and how did you have to relearn all of the marketing for that? Yeah. So my app is called
Selfish Babe and it's a self-love app. And I like to say relatable self-love because it is relatable
self-love because I like to be able to relate to women my age and older, but in a way that I feel
is a little bit more realistic. And so for those that don't know, a selfish babe is a woman who
selfishly and authentically loves herself and understands that she can create her own life.
And so with the app, during that point, I think I was about like, say, 25, 26, where at that time,
through being an entrepreneur and being a CEO, I was really looking into a lot
of personal development as well as spirituality and manifestation and the law of attraction,
all that great, great, great, good stuff. And during that time, I would sign up for courses
from different people or maybe VIP groups from different people. And you had to go in and you
had to log in and then you learn. And that's cool. And that's
interesting. But for me, I wish there was a way that I could just have something on my phone.
And now there's a ways that people have different platforms that they can have different apps on
their phones. But I just wanted there to be a place where I can learn some quick and easy
self-love stuff on my phone. And one day, and I kid you not, I was on the toilet and I was like,
I got to call a selfish babe. And for me, I was like you not, I was on the toilet. And I was like, I gotta call
a selfish babe. And for me, I was like, Oh, that was like a major point, because I was like, I love
the name. And so I was like, we have to put this on the phone, and it has to be an app. And so when
I was able to create the app, I started sending out daily messages, daily affirmations, as well
as self love reminders, but in a way that was jazzy.
I use colorful language, and that's just my everyday language, my everyday talk. And so I
wanted to be able to send out affirmations and colorful reminders in a way that felt relatable,
in a way that felt like your friend was motivating you. Because when it came to me being in this
personal development world, I felt like we have a lot of elders and I think that their information is wonderful. But in terms of bringing it down,
especially to the millennial generation, I feel like the lingo has to change because for me,
I can understand it and I can process it. But if I'm talking to maybe Susie or somebody down the
street that maybe she works at a fast food place. Maybe she's a bus driver. Maybe she's
a teacher. Like any woman, it's just how can I break it down where they're going to understand
it? That was really the point. I wanted to break down personal development in a way that was fun,
in a way that was jazzy. And so for me, when I came up with Selfish Babe and I started those
quotes and affirmations, I'm like, okay, people are liking it, but how are we going to market it?
And for me, through my company, Goddess Detox, I had already learned so much about Instagram marketing,
like I had mentioned, but as well as using social media influencers. Like for me, in terms of my app
growth and getting people to know about my app, social media influencers was the key. And when I
say that, I want to give you some examples. So it came to Goddess Detox and my
product, I would use different funny comedians that had great following on Instagram. And so
they will come up with skits with my product, hold the product, show the product, and people
would laugh. So when they would post their video and tag me, tag my company, I would get a lot more followers and a lot more engagement.
And the reason why I saw a lot more followers and engagement rather than maybe a post on somebody
else's Instagram page is because people were laughing. There was an emotional point, something
that was being touched. They didn't feel like they were just plainly being advertised to.
They knew they were advertised to at the end of the day, but it didn't feel that it didn't feel corny. It didn't feel fake. It was, oh,
this is a laugh. This is funny. Let me check them out. And so for me, I noticed that that was really
big. And I also noticed that if I use somebody that has high trust, right, and high engagement
in a social media influencer from their following, because their following already trust them,
their following is already engaging already trusts them. Their
following is already engaging with them. So if they recommend something, more than likely,
they're going to see what it is and see for themselves if they're going to like it. And more
than likely, to be honest, they're going to buy it because they trust that person and they trust
what they have to say. And so when it came to marketing, Selfish Babe, I use the same thing.
I use posting on different Instagram pages. I use
a lot of Instagram social media influencers because what I really wanted to create was a
commercial for Selfish Babe. I wanted to have at least five to six well-known social media influencers
that were in the self-love niche. And I wanted them to talk about, hey, download the Selfish
Babe app, download Selfish Babe. I'm a Selfish Babe. So I got paid for those advertisements separately, got those videos separately.
Then I got a video editor to combine them.
So now if you look at it, it's like, oh, download Selfish Babe from all these different well-known
social media influencers.
So whenever I run that ad or that video on different Instagram pages, people are going
to more than likely recognize somebody in
that video. And they're like, Oh, wow, she has the app. Oh, wow, she has the app, I have to have the
app too. And so right now, selfish babies being back to being a free app, a free self love app.
At one point, I had gone to a subscription base, but I decided to make it free because I want it
to be on a global reach. And so that's what I did in order to market it. And that's what I'm still
doing to market it. And I'm now getting into Facebook advertising as well as Google ads. But again, Instagram has been my thing as well as also YouTube. I have found that I have used some social media influencers on YouTube where they mentioned the app or talk about the app, or maybe their video is sponsored by Selfish Babe. And then they put the link in their descriptions. And that has also been a wonderful way for me to look at my downloads and see how many
women are downloading the app. And it's every day it's increasing.
I love that so much.

episode. And you touched a lot about on personal development, how it'd been such a game changer for
you. And I love how you're talking about making it accessible because I think sometimes people
can read this and think that sounds really crazy and out there and I can't
relate to it at all but making it accessible is really important I would love to know in terms
of your personal development or professional development what kind of events or coaching
has been helpful for you and how often do you invest in it do you think it's important yeah
so in the beginning of my business it it was really learning about marketing. Like that was something that I highly invested in. Like I
need to know about marketing. And so I always mention her, but the CC, the six figure chick
on Instagram. And I like to mention her because honestly, I had bought an ebook from her and it
was about advertising on Instagram and how to do it.
And after I got that e-book and I read it and I learned how to contact different Instagram pages and work with them, that's what helped me really grow my business. So I always give her a shout out. Now, in terms of personal development, I didn't start really focusing on personal development until maybe a year or two later after I really got some good traction with my business because
it was really about how can I make this full time? Oh, this is growing. How can I keep this
growing on a consistent basis where I don't necessarily need a job? Because during that
time I was in graduate school, I was around 22, 23 in graduate school and I had graduated with
my master's in community psychology. And at one point I was still applying for PhD programs
because I wanted
to be a psychologist at the time and had applied to University of Miami in Florida. I didn't get in.
And at a time, my boyfriend was like, hey, are you sure that you want to keep trying for the PhD?
Because the business is growing. The business is doing well. And he was in his own PhD program at
the time. And so he was like, if you're in the PhD program, it's going to be a lot of time.
And so I literally thought about it. And I had to be honest with myself and I had to be real with
myself. And I said, why do I want this PhD? And the reason why I wanted the PhD honestly was
because of the pay grade. I didn't want to be a psychologist anymore. I wanted to be a professor
in psychology, but then also the pay grade was higher. And so for me, I'm like, it's really about
the money. I wanted to have a sustainable career and something that I felt I would be okay with every day for a long time. And so for me, when I started seeing the money coming in for my business for Goddess Detox, then I wanted to keep that on a consistent basis. And I didn't really get into that until my business
can feed me every day. Let's just say that. And so when that was doing well, then I was like, okay,
I would read different books online. I would probably find hashtags on Instagram, like the
law of attraction or manifestation. And I would just find people on social media because I would
just find people and follow them. And then whatever they had to say, I'm listening. So even way, way, way back in the day, I've been following Natalie for a very long
time, a very, very long time. I remember when she had the smoothie powders, I forgot the name of the
company, but I remember when you had that. And so I remember when she came up with her first like
Instagram course. And so I remember purchasing that. So I learned that from you at one point,
the Instagram course, and just different people that I found.
And I'm like, OK, I like this person.
And so now I'm at a point in my business where because I'm making a good amount of money,
I can invest at a higher rate.
And so, for example, even being in the Soul Success coaching program right now, it was
back in the day at one point, I probably wouldn't have been able to afford it and get into it.
But now because my business is doing so well now, it's like it's a no brainer for me to continue to invest.
And when I say that, I don't want to derail any boss from saying, OK, well, I don't know if I can afford it.
Should I invest? It's not really about that. It's like, what are you able to invest in at the time with what you have?
So it doesn't mean don't invest at all.
What it means is what do I have? And with what I have, what can I invest in now? Because there's
different people at different tiers and different pricing. And for me, at any point in time, when
you're working on your business and an entrepreneurship, you should be learning something
different that's going to either further your business or further yourself. And for me, I will
say when it comes to personal development, as well as spiritual development, that is going to either further your business or further yourself. And for me, I will say when it comes to personal development as well as spiritual development,
that is going to help grow your business because your mind is going to be expanded.
If your mind is kept very limited with only what you see around you and you're not learning
anything new, your business is not going to expand and your mind is not going to expand.
And the energy that you're giving off is not going to expand as well.
So for me, I can honestly say that I have been able to earn more money as I have also invested in my personal development and my spiritual development, because also there is law of attraction.
There is energy. There is a way that now instead of the hustle, hustle, hustle, we can also get into the flow because a lot of people do talk about.
I think Natalie had mentioned it earlier in in the beginning, is it really easy?
In the beginning, it's not.
In the beginning, it is a lot of hustle.
But then as you are in the hustle, at some point in your business, you're like, I can't
function like this anymore.
I need team.
I need more people.
I need to be able to relax.
And how can I also use my energy and my vision to where I can attract more money as well
as more resources into my business?
And that wouldn't be the case unless I consistently invested in personal development as well as spiritual development.
So then it becomes more flow, which a lot of people again, talk about. So hustle, yes,
but then eventually you want to get into a state of flow where you're not driving yourself crazy
or being so stressed out when it comes to your business.
Yeah, I really love everything you said there.
And one thing in particular stands out, and you were talking about investing in an ebook
and how much that taught you and how much you were able to move your business forward because of it.
And that's the thing. At all levels, there's different things we can invest in. I remember
when I invested in my first course, it was $ thousand dollars. And that for me was absolutely terrifying, but I committed to myself that if I invest in it, I am going to implement everything
I'm learning. And that's what sets those people apart. And obviously we worked together for a
really long time. And I know this about you, you come with the questions you want answered and you
go and implement, and then you come back and ask any more questions you go implement. It's not,
I'm going to sit here and learn this because I think it's going to be fun or I think it'll be good to know it's I'm going to
put my attention where I need to put my attention I'm going to learn what I need right now and I'll
come back to anything else that that might be fluffy or might not be for me right now and you
implement and so for anyone listening it is exactly that it's not what you invest in or how much you're
spending it's how much are you
implementing what you're learning because I built my first business off the school of Google and yes
I wish I had someone guiding me and was able to mentor me and save me that time but I still
implemented what I learned which is why it turned into success. Liv I want to pivot to you as well
because I know you feel the exact same way about investing in yourself and investing in personal development, which has also led you to be a coach. And you've
pivoted and started a second business to help others because of how much you've been able to
grow your own business and what you wished you had. So how important is investing in growth for
you? It's totally important. And I was at a really fortunate position that I was given personal
development books by my mum when I was old enough to read so I've been reading them for a very long
time and I think when I was in high school I was 13 I started my first business it was an
eBay business I think we've got basically the same story you and I Natalie and yeah I was starting
businesses at 13 whilst other people I was at
school with were in the playground so for me it's always been a theme that's ran throughout my life
I've consumed so much free content online YouTube ebook I've attended Tony Robbins events where
after those events I've four times my income for me, it's just been such a massive
part of my journey. And I think every time I've taken that step to the next level, it's only been
because I have someone to look up to. And I always make sure that I'm surrounding myself with someone
that's more successful than me, someone that has already walked the path and is going to give me that map but I think on that same subject as in the
implementation it's not that coach will actually take you there they'll definitely guide you but
the responsibility is on you to implement take those actions and do it consistently so when I started the coaching side of things that was
really my thoughts behind it I want to empower someone to make their own decisions to take their
own action but give them that map on my experience and the tools that I use to get there and when it
comes to implementation again I work with you I know exactly what you are like in terms of
implementing and making sure you actually get things done do you have any tips for how you stay
focused how you achieve so much how you get so much done yeah I'm a little bit of a freak like
that I like created an online course I think it was 2010 slides in like the space of 10 days so I would say that I'm probably the most productive
person that I know and for me it really is just having three things to focus on I think I have
been guilty in the past of trying to do everything at once launching five new products at the same
time trying to do everything so what I've learned is to really just focus in
on those three tasks or three main objectives. And I think when you're working alone and you
don't have that team, it is so important to look at what's going to be those needle moving
tasks, but also projects that you're working on that actually going to take you towards
more income or that next level in your business because I think it's really easy to get caught up
in admin tasks or back-end systems but actually looking at what you're doing every day and
thinking is this going to take me any further ahead. I love that now I have a final question
for both of you and Liv we'll start with you
because you were just speaking. For anyone listening who is hearing this and they're
thinking okay I'm finally ready I'm going to take the leap and I'm going to start my own business
and they have no idea where to start or what they should be focusing on but they do have an idea.
Liv what would your advice be for these people or this person? So I've been in the exact same position.
And when I started my business, I had absolutely no startup funds.
I had no experience in the industry that I wanted to start in.
I had no university degree.
So if I can do it, you certainly can too.
And I think what is so amazing is right at our fingertips,
we all have a massive opportunity.
And that is if you've got a laptop, a phone and Wi-Fi,
because you can really start any business tomorrow
with a social media page and reaching an audience.
So my advice would be to get started.
Don't overthink things.
Don't get caught up in the brand name, the branding,
and then be stuck there for years
basically get the MVP out that minimal viable product and just start and don't be afraid to
put yourself out there and share your story because that has really been the most powerful
tool for me has just been showing up consistently sharing personality, but also my story, because people don't buy what
you're doing, they buy why you do it. And for me, age held me back for a few years thinking,
oh my God, people are going to find out I'm so young and not going to want to work with me.
But actually that has been my one power has been sharing that story, my age and the journey that I've been on.
I love that so much. And that's such good advice. Olenike, what would you say to this person
listening who's ready to get started and has no idea where to go?
I would say that you have everything that you need. As Cliff has said, if you have a laptop
and you have Wi-Fi, I really use Google and YouTube. And so I like to say that Google and
YouTube are like my best friends. And so I like to say that Google and YouTube are like
my best friends. And so for me, it's you can get started now. You can start researching things.
You can start buying the domain now, buy that domain and buy as many domains as you need to.
And I'm going to just say that now because I buy a lot of domains and some I don't even use like
that, but I know I'm going to get back to them. And so for me, it's just buy the domain. What are
you trying to give to the world and how can you make them see that it's going to be worth it? What are
the results? What are they going to get from it? Why should they buy it? And so I know a lot of
times for me, it's been like, this is going to help you on this level. And so for me, it's not
just sharing like how the product looks and how pretty it is or whatever it may be or your idea,
but what are they going to get from it?
And I know Natalie talks about this a lot, but like the transformation,
what are they receiving?
So if you can say that verbatim yourself, then you're going to be able to sell.
And so just get started.
There's so many people out here in this world.
Okay, people want to buy whatever you're selling.
So just start selling.
That's my advice.
So true.
And I think all three of us actually are domain buying
oh my god I just bought 25 domains yesterday
yeah back in the day I used to buy domains and sell them fun times I think I have so many as
well I don't even want to know how many when those domains the costs come in every year and you're
like oh my god I didn't realize exactly because had that one. Exactly, because I keep renewing.
Yeah, I love it.
Well, I just want to thank you both so much for being on here and being so transparent
about your journeys.
You're both so incredibly inspiring.
And I'm really glad that we got to show
two completely different journeys,
but two incredibly successful journeys.
And so I would love for you both to share,
