Starting point is 00:00:00 A Boss Babe is unapologetically ambitious and paves the way for herself and other women to rise, keep going and fighting on. She is on a mission to be her best self in all areas. It's just believing in yourself. Confidently stepping outside her comfort zone to create her own vision of success. Hey guys, Danielle here and welcome back to another episode of the Boss Babe Business School here on the Boss Babe Podcast. So one question I get asked a lot about is how do I find my purpose? How do I know what's next for me? How do I get lit up about all the things that I'm working on and turn it into profit?
Starting point is 00:00:45 For me, I now wake up really excited every single day to help millions of women across the world tap into their entrepreneurial mindset and start those businesses and find the business that really is going to support them on their journey. And I absolutely love it. It's my passion and I managed to turn it into a profit. When you find this passion, you actually really get to change what work feels like. Your work feels bigger than you. The work lights you up. It makes you happy and feel alive and you're excited because you're doing something that really, really matters. And you are so connected to your why that your energy is just like, I don't want to say this endless supply, but you find you'll have more energy than ever before. When you are doing something that really, really lights you up, you'll wake up every single day being like, right, I'm going to make some impact today.
Starting point is 00:01:41 And I know the difference between that because I haven't always felt this way. When I was a chiropractor, I loved helping people one-to-one, but there was something missing for me. There was like this fire inside me waiting to be lit. And I was kind of looking for that. And when I founded Boss Babe and started working with you women and teaching and doing this podcast and starting the society and seeing women get results from the things that we were teaching and feeling inspired, all of that started to really, really light me up. And I want that for you. I know so many of you want to find your purpose. You feel lost. So that's what I want to talk about on this episode, how to find your passion and your purpose. So in this podcast,
Starting point is 00:02:26 I'm going to do a little exercise to help you find yours. So if you are driving, no worries, but if you are stationary at a desk, I want you to grab a piece of paper and I want you to turn it into four sections. So kind of do a cross. So you're turning into four quadrants, line down the middle vertically and align horizontally. So you end up with four squares. So in each corner, I want you to write one of the following questions. So the top left corner, write, what do I love? The top right corner, what am I good at? The bottom left corner, what does the world need? Bottom right corner, what can I be paid for? And I want you to marinate a little bit on these questions. So I want you to take some time and sit with each one. Don't like rush to write down, although if the pen is just going in front of you, go with it and see what comes out.
Starting point is 00:03:18 But I want you to just sit, maybe close your eyes for a second and just, you know, when I ask like, what are you good at? I really want you to resist the urge of saying, oh, nothing. Oh, you know, like brushing it off. I want you to really, really sit with it because each and every single one of you has so many things that you are talented at and you are good at. If you're struggling, text a friend or go through your previous texts and be like, okay, what are the things that people ask me for, right? When it comes to what do you love? Like, don't just jump into that. It doesn't have to be what you have a career in now. It could be completely different. It could be something that you love reading about or learning about. How do you choose to spend your time in the
Starting point is 00:03:55 weekends or your spare time? That can actually be where a lot of your passion lies too. And then regardless with what does the world need, I want you to really think about that as in the sense of like what are we noticing like if I did this the world would be maybe a little bit better place you know what is the world crying out for there are gaps that you are seeing you're like wow I could actually really really contribute in this space and again don't overthink it let the pen run see what comes out I don't want you to stop yourself during this exercise. There's no right or wrong answer because it's really, really powerful to have lots of pieces in each quadrant. And the last one, what can you be paid for? The reason I
Starting point is 00:04:37 say that, what can you be paid for? You don't have to think all the way down to, okay, is there an industry in this? Just really think a bit more surface level about, oh yeah, like I would totally pay someone for this. Or I've used this service in the past. Or, oh my goodness, you might say, you know, what the world needs. Realize this service is actually missing that you would pay for yourself. And you can always text some friends like, hey, would you pay for this? If you feel like they're the right demographics for you, but also if you don't have the right demographics, that's okay as well. Let's take a quick pause to talk about my new favorite all-in-one platform Kajabi. You know I've been singing their praises lately because they have helped our business run
Starting point is 00:05:12 so much smoother and with way less complexity which I love. Not to mention our team couldn't be happier because now everything is in one place so it makes collecting data, creating pages, collecting payment, all the things so much simpler. One of our mottos at Boss Babe is simplify to amplify and Kajabi has really helped us do that this year. So of course I needed to share it here with you. It's the perfect time of year to do a bit of spring cleaning in your business, you know. Get rid of the complexity and instead really focus on getting organized and making things as smooth as possible, I definitely recommend Kajabi to all of my clients and students. So if you're listening and haven't checked out Kajabi yet, now is the perfect time to do so because they are offering
Starting point is 00:05:56 Boss Babe listeners a 30-day free trial. Go to kajabi.com slash boss babe to claim your 30-day free trial. That's kajabi.com slash boss babe. So like 30 day free trial. That's kajabi.com slash boss babe. So like I said, I want you to just take a moment, really sit with these questions. So if you need to just pause this audio here and then continue once you've added it in. Once you've added in all those things to each quadrant and you've got at least two or three plus in each quadrant, I want you to draw a circle in the middle of the quadrants that links all of these quadrants together. Now make that circle big enough so that you can write in it. What I want you to recognize is the circle in the middle that links all of this,
Starting point is 00:06:39 that is where your purpose lies. This is where you can start a business that you're passionate about. This is actually based on the Ikigai model. So basically what you want to try and understand is bring together the things that you love and the things that you're good at with what the world needs and what someone will pay for. Now quite often we think about starting a business and finding our purpose and we just start in the heart, but we forget, okay, is someone willing to pay for this? And sometimes we can be like, oh my God, I need to start a business. And we start from this place of how can I earn money versus actually what do I love? And when we negate to look at both of these sides, that's when we might end up either not moving forward with anything or starting a
Starting point is 00:07:18 business that isn't actually aligned with our values. So any of you who are thinking about starting a business or wanting to start a business or actually just wanting to find like, hey, what do I even like doing as a career, as a job? Like where do I want to be spending my time on a daily basis? This Ikigai model is such a great thing for you to work through to really find the answers that you perhaps haven't been able to before. As you guys know, if you follow me on Instagram at Danielle Canty, you'll probably see, like I've had lots of conversations with Tony who's been on the podcast several times. I'm in his mastermind. I've met him several occasions. And he said to me once, he said, Danielle, whenever you have a problem, don't solve it in your head. Always
Starting point is 00:08:00 write it down. And I think that's so, so true. When we have things in our head, it becomes big or it's hard to put a finger on it. It kind of jumps around all over the place and we're trying to catch it. Whereas when you write things down, the action of writing it down is very grounding for then you to be able to analyze it and move through that problem. So such a great starting point for anyone who is like struggling with finding out what their purpose is. And an exercise like this will also help you identify what are your strengths and how you can actually use them to create the business of your dreams. And it's always really important to remember that sometimes keeping it simple when you're analyzing these pieces is the best way to move forwards. I don't want any of you entering this exercise into thinking, oh my goodness, I need to come
Starting point is 00:08:48 up with a million dollar business plan here. You don't. All you need to do right now is to find something you are passionate about because when you're passionate about it, you will be determined about it. You'll be motivated. And that's what helps a business flourish because the plan will change. Unless you have that motivation intrinsically and innately inside you, you're going to be missing that magic source because you don't have that passion. So for any of you who are struggling on
Starting point is 00:09:16 this and want me to walk you through it in a little bit more detail, or you want a little bit more grounding and some more resources on helping you find your passion that go into a little bit more grounding and some more resources on helping you find your passion that go into a little bit more detail, I'm going to recommend you join us in the Society, which is our membership to help you turn your passion into an online business, even if you don't know what your passion is right now.
