A Boss Babe is unapologetically ambitious and paves the way for herself and other women
to rise, keep going and fighting on. She is on a mission to be her best self in all areas.
It's just believing in yourself. Confidently stepping outside her comfort zone to create
her own vision of success.
Welcome back you guys to another episode of the Boss Babe Podcast, the place where we share
with you the real behind the scenes of building successful businesses, achieving big performance,
and learning how to balance it all. I'm Danielle, your host for today's episode,
but I'm not hosting anyone else. It is a solo because it is the Boss Babe Business
School episode. And today, I'm just going to give it real. I am recording this on a few days
leading up to Christmas. And it's a shock to me that Christmas is next week. I'm just going to give it real. I am recording this on a few days leading up to
Christmas and it's a shock to me that Christmas is next week. I'm like, what? I am not ready.
So kudos to you for those of you who have got Christmas presents wrapped,
they are under the tree, you've got the turkey ordered or the vegan alternative,
whatever you're having for Christmas dinner or not even having for Christmas dinner. Maybe you
celebrate, maybe you don't, but I'm just sharing with you that sometimes we are really organized
in our lives. And sometimes, you know, things just go away a little bit. And either is okay.
I feel like we get really hard on ourselves in this time of year. And so I want to hold space
for us all just trying our best, us all just getting through it and taking things off.
And speaking of taking things off,
this is exactly what this episode is about. This is your end of year in review. And I have got some
tricks and tips up my sleeve to help you along. Practices that Natalie and I have been doing for
absolutely years, and they are game changers for you and your life and your business. And we've
put them through the test and we really, really feel they work. But before I get started on that, I need to say two things. One,
I hope you're enjoying the holiday season and you are getting some rest.
And if you have been organized, great. This is going to air on the 27th of December. So I want
to make sure that you are feeling good about where you are and that you have had some rest
and that you are using this weird time between Christmas and New Year to really just close things out.
I feel like this is abandoned time quite often. And it can either get railroaded by playing
games and time with friends and family, which you really, really enjoy. Or it can go the complete
opposite way where you veg out, watch far too much TV and really eat things that are not good for you. So whichever way,
I do think it's really important that you find space to complete the end of year review,
because it's going to set you up for the most success as we head into 2023.
So before you start listening to this, in the show notes is a downloadable PDF,
which I highly
recommend you going to grab now. Within five to 10 minutes, it's going to email you a PDF template
that you can utilize during this podcast, or you can come to later. But either way,
go there now, download it so you have our end of year guide. And before we get started,
it's probably just good to tell you why Natalie and I started doing this. So basically, in the first few years of entrepreneurship, we kept getting to the end
of our year and wondering like, where had all this time gone during the year? And we had like
lots of little random things to check off our to-do list. And we being a Capricorn and a Virgo
felt like when we took these things into the next year, into January the following year,
it kind of
slowed us down. It didn't feel like the clean slate that we wanted. So we really got into
practice of using these days between Christmas and New Year to check easy things off our list,
to complete tasks and bring a kind of like, what about feeling of fulfillment to it all?
Like, oh my goodness, I completed this and I'm proud of myself. And sometimes you have these things that are hanging
over you that make you feel like you're further behind than you actually are. So it was a great
game changer for us. It made us feel less stressed. It made us feel more accomplished and it set us up
for a better next year. Okay. So that's why I wanted to choose this podcast to keep it really,
really simple, really, really easy, but ensure that you are carving time out this week to complete things and giving you a little bit of
structure so that you can do it. So now that you have a download that PDF, I'm going to talk you
through it. So when you open it up, it's like my 2022 end of year plan. And it's making sure that
we are, like I said, rounding out really, really strong. We're writing down our goals. This is
going to be our one place of things that need to be accomplished for us to set in and head into a really successful 2023.
So I want you to write down your end of year intention. And so for example, my end of year
intention is to finalize and close out tasks that will help me accomplish my major projects of 2022 and help me start 2023 with
space for other new projects. So you can see here, my intention for these days is to choose
the tasks that will actually help me close and complete certain bigger projects. I'm not trying
to start brand new things off. I'm really
trying to close things. So let's say I have major projects happening in my business or my personal,
I'm getting these to finish and complete. So I have space of brand new goals and ideas and
brand new projects in 2023. So let me dive into this a little bit more. So when you open up the PDF, you're going to see
four, the page split into four quadrants, business and personal at the top. And then
we're giving you space for two others underneath. Personally, because of the projects that I've had
on my docket this year, I'm actually choosing finances and health for my bottom two.
Let's take a quick pause to talk about my new favorite all-in-one platform, Kajabi.
You know, I've been singing their praises lately because they have helped our business run so much
smoother and with way less complexity which I love. Not to mention our team couldn't be happier
because now everything is in one place so it makes collecting data, creating pages, collecting payment,
all the things so much simpler. One of our mottos at Boss Babe is simplify to amplify and
Kajabi has really helped us do that this year. So of course I needed to share it here with you.
It's the perfect time of year to do a bit of spring cleaning in your business, you know,
get rid of the complexity and instead really focus on getting organized and making things
as smooth as possible. I definitely recommend Kajabi to all of my clients
and students. So if you're listening and haven't checked out Kajabi yet, now is the perfect time
to do so because they are offering Boss Babe listeners a 30-day free trial. Go to kajabi.com
slash Boss Babe to claim your 30-day free trial. That's kajabi.com slash Boss Babe.
So let me start with the first one with business. So I like to
take this time to really close out and choose tasks, like I said, that are helping me round
out some of the projects that I've had over the years. So recently throughout Q4, we've been
working on the society funnel. If you are in the society, you are a member of our amazing community
of boss babes in there growing and building their businesses. If you're not, you're going to
absolutely love it. We've actually really working on some of the messaging. We've done a lot of
surveying of the people in there so far, learning what they're really enjoying and learning what
really speaks to their souls and then incorporating that not only in the content that we're creating,
but also that messaging to new people that are coming into our boss babe community.
So that's one of the things that I'm closing up there. Another example is on my personal side. I've been doing a lot of revamping in my home. I've
been learning about feng shui in my home. And I moved in here in April. And I've been really
wanting to make it feel more homely. I have a few areas that are so close to finishing and some I
haven't started. So for example, I haven't started on my office yet. So my task is
not to finish my office, but I'm halfway through my bedroom. So a couple of tasks on my personal
goals in this time is to close out ordering my bedding, ordering a stand to go at the end of my
bed. Now you might be thinking, well, hang on, why are you doing these personal things? And your
boss paper is all about a business. No, we do business differently here. It's a holistic approach. And I know that when my home is tranquil, my home is organized, my home is set up,
my mind is clear and I function so, so much better. So that's why for me on personal,
I always have things that are probably normally to do with organization stuff around the home,
because that actually allows me to think really clearly and I get to close out some of those
projects. So like I said, you can see what I'm doing here. I'm not going, oh my goodness,
all of a sudden in the next four days, I'm going to design my office and order some stuff for it
because that to me would be overwhelming to start that project. I would rather close out the bedroom
and then have the space of January to do my office. A couple of other examples I have is,
like I said, my finance ones, just making sure all my tax returns, everything, I'm already partway through that. I like to keep my QuickBooks up to date before the
end of the year because that way I can make any edits and just make sure I'm not closing out the
year with potential that I could have done things that would have saved me money. And so I always
start having my conversations with my tax experts in November and the beginning of December. And so I always start having my conversations, my tax experts in November, in the beginning of December, and then really in the end of December, I'm just closing out those
last few things. If you haven't already, go and listen to my episode with Tommy from Prime
Corporate Services talking about taxes, because you can also gain access to a free consultation
with Prime Corporate Services if you're in the US to set up your business and help you support
with the taxes. That's what I'll be closing out in the finance section. There's a couple of other miscellaneous tasks within finances
that I'll be adding onto mine personally. Then I also am choosing health. I really like to just
be setting myself up to hit my goals in January. So it'll be like, oh, subscribing to a new gym.
It might be ordering. I want to drink more water. So I want to order one of those big
Amazon bottles. I want to make sure that my Amazon food order, I was ordering my food online.
So I want to have a favorites list. So that's really easy for me to go in there and repeat
some of those orders and have my assistant or even my partner at times order some of those
foods when I might not have the capacity to do so. So I'm using this time to just really get
a little bit more organized there with some systems that I know are going to support my health. So I'm going to end up probably by the
end of this with at least eight or nine tasks in each. They'll all be in one place, which is
really, really going to help me. Now, if you have more tasks than this, or you're feeling that eight
or nine tasks in each of these four quadrants is going to be overwhelming, then I really, really want you to make sure that you are doing what I call next,
the to-do, the to-don't, and the delegate. Quite often, you might catch yourself adding stuff to
your list, which you perhaps don't need to do. So I really encourage once you've made the list,
to then put them in priority order. I like to put them in priority order, what feels the most
important for me to execute on, what feels the most urgent for me to execute on, and then work
through that step by step. I can then come to a point where if it's in the top third, it's likely
it really needs to get done. And I can look at that, does it need to get done by me? Are there
members of my family that could support me with this? In which case I can delegate it. Or maybe
there's someone in my team that could support. Maybe it's in which case I can delegate it. Or maybe there's someone in my
team that could support. Maybe it's not actually in the business section. Maybe I don't have to
do it all. And I could be selling that to my team members or my assistant or whichever help or
support. Maybe if you have a full-time job, you could send it to other people that are working
alongside. And then likewise with delegate, also let's say I'm in the personal section,
it might be things that I'm choosing to do around the house that actually other members of the family or other people that
I'm living with could actually be taking responsibility for. I'm always using this
time as well to reevaluate what I am doing and what I can be delegating to. Then again,
what I'm coming to, if I've gone through that, I've done my to-do, I'm seeing the top priorities,
I'm delegating some of those, I'm really going to assess it with a fine-tooth comb whether I actually need some of these things on my list.
Are some of them actually just clutters and they're nice to have versus actually needs to do?
I think that's always a really good reframe for a lot of people. We add these things onto our list
and quite frankly, sometimes we're not actually double-checking ourselves whether that's still
relevant to the direction that we're wanting to move our lives in, whether that's relevant for
the goals that we're trying to achieve in this set year,
or whether actually we're just doing it because we had it on there and we've not really questioned
it. I always talk about this in the business. Don't do things because they've been done that
way for a long time before. Always look for new ways to innovate and always question that thing
is still moving the needle or still needs to get done. Just some good reflections for you guys to
help finish the year strong, to make sure, like I said, that you are closing out certain projects
and making space for brand new exciting things as we head into January. And speaking of January,
actually, if you are not already in the society, you are absolutely going to want to be because
we are doing a vision board session. It is the third week of January. We are really,
really excited about it. It's going to be a full hour immersive experience. We're going to be assessing every aspect of your
life using our Boss Babe framework. We're going to get you to put numbers scoring against it.
And then we're also going to be breaking down what you envisage for each aspect of your life,
whether it's personal, whether it's business, whether it's your health, whether it's your
finances, whether it's your relationships and it's your love life. Whatever aspect it is,
it's not just about business. We will be doing a full vision
boarding session. Natalie and I are obsessed with our vision boards. I've had my friends
over already this year. They're actually coming again over on Sunday to finish our vision boards.
We are going to be doing that with you live in the course. So if you're a society member,
do not miss that. It's the third Wednesday of January. And if you are not a member,
you are going to want to get in because that is the only time that we're doing this. It is so, so powerful to set your goals
and dreams as you go into 2023. I am a big believer in setting the dreams because
you don't vision, you don't know what you're creating, and then you are at the mercy of
everyone else around you. So it's so, so important to own your desires, own your loves, and to take
full control of that. So if you are a member, I'll see you there. If you're not,
I'm going to put a link in the show notes as well. You can also find us at bossbabe.com
forward slash membership. That's where you can join for the BitVision boarding class,
which is going to be on the third week of January. So I hope to see you there.
And I also hope you've enjoyed filling out your end of year guide. I will see you in 2023.
Thank you so much for listening.
