Welcome back to the Boss Bit Podcast. Okay, today I'm really excited because we are talking about
some of the biggest shifts that I feel business owners and digital CEOs need to make to exponentially
grow their business, this year especially. I'm going to share three simple shifts you can make
that will help you achieve your goals in half the time, literally working less to make more.
And if you're rolling your eyes thinking, yep, easy for for you to say or you have no idea what my
business is that you have no idea how burned out I am whatever it is I do think these tips will work
regardless of what stage your business is in whether you're just starting getting a bit of
traction or ready to scale I think it will help you to learn how to scale without the burnout
and actually understand the mindset shifts that you need to make to create more value
and get paid a bit more. So we're going to talk delegation, focus, time, so much more. I'm really,
really excited about this one. I think it's super important. So with that, let's dive in.
Let's start with the first shift that is going to revolutionize the way you think about your business. You ready?
It's time to completely break through the myth that time equals value. Seriously, this belief is not serving you to get to your next level. A lot of people struggle with this and I've been
there as well. I think we've been ingrained with the idea that the harder we work and the more time we put in, the more value we add and the more
successful we'll be. But let me tell you, it is not just exhausting, but it's ineffective. I mean,
to be honest, even if you're a coach or a consultant, you might believe that the more
time you give your client, the more valuable your program is. That is not true. The more results you
help your client achieve, the more ROI they get,
what they actually come to you for in the first place, that's valuable. They won't say, hey Natalie,
I know you could teach me this one thing in 60 minutes, but I'll pay way more for it if you
deliver it in five hours instead. Like to be honest, it's probably the opposite. They're more likely to
want the most efficient way to get the best results possible and they'll pay for that. I have burned the candle at both ends. I've tried to be everywhere, available to everyone
and you know what? It did not make me feel more valuable. In fact, I'd say it left me feeling
burned out, resentful and unfulfilled. So here's the truth. Value equals value. Let me say that again. Value equals value. Time does not
equal value. Regardless of the time you spend on something, value is value. But I do get it. I get
why this belief might occur for you. I even had a situation not that long ago where someone I was
working with told me that we should be paid the exact same
amount per hour, even though the work I was doing versus the work they were doing was actually
completely different. So the project I was working on and contributing was generating massive amounts
of new revenue and their part of the project wasn't. I was also able to deliver mine in a lot
less hours than they could because of how long I'd been doing what I'm doing.
So it didn't feel fair that they'd want to pay me per hour versus the value of the project.
I was way more experienced than them or the person that they bring in to replace me.
So I wasn't willing to charge hourly. I was charging based on what I was delivering.
Because it's like, wait, you're not paying for my time right now. You're paying for the 10,000 hours
I've invested in myself and my skills to get me where I am. And I'm sure so many of you can say
that you've experienced the same thing. So I do get it and we need to change it. Imagine spending
an hour in your highest zone of genius, focusing on the things only you can do and making a really
meaningful impact in the areas that truly
matter. I really firmly believe that is far more valuable than working five hours on tasks that do
not move the needle or get results. So it's time to release the belief that time equals value and
really step into the truth that value equals value. So ask yourself questions like, how can I be adding
more value? What's the highest value I can contribute right now to my business? That is
going to be an absolute game changer for stepping into the next level that requires you to move the
needle in completely different ways. Okay, let's move on to the second shift. It is time to unsubscribe from the belief that you have to do it all alone
or that you are the only one who can do something.
Trust me, I've been there.
I have been there many times thinking I was the only person
that could grow my business or execute on things in quote unquote the right way.
I used to believe that I had to be the one to
handle social media, marketing, content creation, you name it. But guess what? It led to a complete
lack of trust and my team relying on me. I felt like I needed to be involved in every conversation
and decision, which was exhausting for me. And I know it would have been really deflating for my team. I'm not proud of this. I'm just being honest. It was also a
self-filling prophecy because no one ever got the chance to prove me wrong. You know, no one got the
chance to prove that actually they could do it way better than I was doing it because I never stepped
out of the way to even let them. And listen, one thing I will say is
people may not deliver it the exact way you'd like it delivered, but does that mean it's any less
good, valuable, or effective? No, not necessarily. Just because it's not done to your liking doesn't
mean it's not done well. The truth is, if you try and do everything by yourself, you'll move way slower towards your
goals than if you embrace the power of collaboration and just allow support. So whether that looks like
hiring a coach, bringing on new team members, or releasing control and allowing others to show up
in their roles, do it. Give it a try. You might get to your goals way faster and I guarantee you'll have a lot more
fun doing it because you're not doing everything. I do get that if you're new to this though and you
don't necessarily have playbooks in your business, which is the exact reason you should join business
by design, it can take a lot longer to delegate initially. But this is an investment that you're
making which will pay dividends. So I want you to see it that way. You know, if you delegate something out and it comes back, not quite right, instead
of just sending quick feedback there and, you know, never really recording that, I would encourage
you to either hop on a zoom and record the zoom or record a loom video of the way in which you
edit it and the feedback you have for that person and store all of this feedback in a playbook
because you might then want to train other people in future on this exact same thing.
And if they can get into your head and really see your process, it's going to support them in
learning a lot more. One thing I also do is when my team write emails or social posts and they send
them my way, you know, a lot of the time I do make tweaks, just they might send it to me 80%
finished. I make the 20% tweaks and it's good to go. It feels like it's in my voice. It's valuable.
But what I do instead of just going in there and edit, I actually use the suggesting tool
on Google docs. So I suggest my edits on my team. Basically they have to go through and approve
every single edit. And it's just a way of them being able to see what I'm changing versus if I just go in and edit the document, they'll never really understand
what I changed to get it over the line. So doing little things like that will really support your
team or whoever's helping you to get into your mind and understand what it is exactly that you're
looking for. Because you do not have to carry the weight of your business on your shoulders alone.
I know it can feel like that so often.
It might even feel like that right now.
But when you open yourself up to the support
and surround yourself with a team of people that do care,
you'll experience a lot more growth
and you'll probably feel way less stressed and way less lonely.
I get that
entrepreneurship is lonely, but if we do allow other people in, it can take that weight off.
So if you can, I really want you to let go of the belief that you've got to do it all yourself
and embrace the power of collaboration. Okay, now let's move on to the third shift that you're
going to want to make if you want to really grow. It is time to stop doing everything just because you can or because you always have. Now I know I've said this many times
before but it is more relevant than ever. We often believe that we need to be everywhere doing all
the things speaking to and serving everyone but the truth is that approach is far from what actually
creates real exponential growth
and results.
Trust me, I've been there too.
All of these things I am teaching is experience I have had and things I have gone through.
So hopefully you can shortcut that.
I have found myself so many times constantly chasing the newest funnel, the latest strategy
and diving into tasks that I felt I could
do better and faster myself. That is a recipe for disaster. You know, there's times when I'll have
been at masterminds and I walk away learning so many things and hearing what everyone else is
doing in their business that my to-do list is, you know, 40 items long and I get so overwhelmed,
I don't do anything. Now, whenever I go to
masterminds or retreats, I go in with the mindset of, you know what, just because something's
working for someone else doesn't mean I need to run back and implement it. Yes, I can listen.
Yes, I can learn. But I also get to be discerning with what's going to support my strategy and my
business. I think that's one of the reasons that I was able to have such huge growth
on Instagram is I didn't focus on any other platform at the time when I was growing that.
I just kept my blinders on, but then I did know people who were, you know, really crushing it on
YouTube and other platforms. And it was tempting to get distracted, but I really tried to keep
myself on track and focused with, yes, that's great for them, but right now I know what's serving
me. Okay. So if we continue to believe that we should do everything we see out there, or, you
know, even fill every single role in our company, we'll find ourselves stuck, frustrated, or to be
honest, feeling like giving up on our business all together. Or even if you're continuing to do things just because
you've always done them, how would you know that it's even getting you results? Like what if that
thing you're doing or those tasks that even your team members have on their to-do list are actually,
you know, moving the needle or are they doing nothing? I've been there too. And when I've asked
myself or my team, why are we doing these things? Often people will say, well, because we always have. That's not a reason to do something or to want to do something.
So it's really time to shift our mindsets there. Focus on doing less. We often say at Boss Babe,
we are simplifying to amplify. In fact, every quarter we have that question sent to everyone
on our team. How do you think we could simplify to amplify?
Focus on going all in on a few key things that truly align with your business, your vision,
where you want to go, and allow other people to support you along the way. There'll always be new
strategies. There'll always be shiny objects vying for your attention. But when you double down on
what truly matters and delegate tasks tasks that's when you'll experience
the growth and results that you've been waiting for let's take a quick pause to talk about my
new favorite all-in-one platform kajabi you know i've been singing their praises lately because
they have helped our business run so much smoother and with way less complexity which i love not to
mention our team couldn't be happier because now everything is in one place so it makes collecting data, creating pages, collecting payment, all the things so much simpler. One of our mottos at Boss
Babe is simplify to amplify and Kajabi has really helped us do that this year. So of course I needed
to share it here with you. It's the perfect time of year to do a bit of spring cleaning in your
business you know. Get rid of the complexity and instead really focus on getting organized and making things as smooth as possible i definitely
recommend kajabi to all of my clients and students so if you're listening and haven't checked out
kajabi yet now is the perfect time to do so because they are offering boss babe listeners a 30-day
free trial go to kajabi.com slash Boss Babe to claim your 30-day
free trial. That's kajabi.com slash Boss Babe. And as we wrap up this episode, I want you to remember
this. Building and growing a business can be easy and simple. It is possible. The shifts we've
discussed here might seem small, but I guarantee their impact on your business, both in the short and long term, is
massive. Not to mention the impact on your health and your happiness. I have witnessed these shifts
work wonders for me in Boss Babe and with countless clients and friends in different industries.
When you release the belief that time equals value, when you embrace the power of collaboration and focus
on what truly matters you will achieve your goals faster and with way less stress. Often the thing
that needs to change isn't the funnel or the strategy but it's us and our approach and guess
what that can be one of the harder things to do. So I really hope this episode has sparked something
for you that could support you in moving into your next level and So I really hope this episode has sparked something for you that could support
