I'm a strange person because I, I believe in this thing of, like, deep love and connection. You know, I actually believe in monogamy, you know, and I, and I, when I'm exploring, you know, when I started this thing seven months ago, I started a new club, and I was really exploring non-monogamy again, because I just got out of a six-year relationship. And it was fun and exciting and amazing. But then, you know, I don't know, 22, 23 days ago, I'm like counting days because, you know, I like keep track of things for myself. Yeah, I just was like, you know what, I think I'm going to just chill for a bit here and wait for something that I can really connect into a person that like I can really connect into because that's what makes the sex the best.

It's not the it's you know yeah just it takes it somewhere else. It adds it adds a spiritual element to the physical of sexuality. The physical of sexuality is amazing and it feels great. Sex almost I mean you know unless there's something going on sex generally feels really good and and that but it's a fit and that's physical but then you add love into that and you add connection. into that and then it becomes something different. Like there's a spiritual element that happens. And that feeling is what I, that's like my, that's my favorite thing in the entire universe. I think it's also the pheromones.

Like when I'm attracted to someone's pheromones, it's way better sex. Like a one night stand where you're not, like you said, it's, there's, it lacks depth. Pheromones, it's all part of a puzzle. Yes, the way someone smells and tastes, the way they look, their physical, their body. Even, I mean, God, I've learned so much about everything really at this point. But, you know, like some people fit together really well and some people don't. Someone's dick could be the perfect size and the perfect shape just every fucking time in and out of the pussy. It's like they're hitting someone's G-spot.

It's not, it's not like an eight-inch porn star dick. It could be something a lot less than that. But it just is perfect for that girl or that person. Like people match. And when people match and in the rest of the way too, in the smells and in the, in the, in all of it, yeah, that all is part of the puzzle. And then when you find that person that you really fit with, you know, then it's like transcendent, you know.

But I don't know how many, how many of those people we even get in our life. How have you, so when you first got into, maybe even going back, when you first got into all of this, Did you think this way or was it more about non-monogamy? Well, I was in a 20-year monogamous relationship, but I was kind of, I mean, I, you know, I hate to admit that I'm an asshole, but I was cheating, you know. And over 20 years, I don't know. I mean, I probably was slept with four or five other people,

maybe six other people. And it would be a night, but it would be this thing where I was like, I was like, what do I like sexually? I've been with this person my entire life. I don't even know what I'm into. And if I tried things with her, she wasn't really wanting to explore too much. You know, it was kind of, it's funny because we got divorced. We have two beautiful kids.

And then she ended up exploring after her. And we had the funniest conversations about all of it because things that she said she would never do with me. She was like, oh, no, I like it. And it's just so fucking funny. But anyway, yeah, I was just, I was like, you know, I was with one person for a long time. So I didn't know my own sexuality. And I didn't have any way to explore that, really. And cheating thing doesn't work

Because that's just like I would feel so guilty about it And then hiding it and all that You can't have good sex if you're fucking cheating You know, I don't think Because you're guilt and your thoughts And all of it, you can't be with a person Really into them

You're somewhere else Sure So anyway, so after, you know When we decided to separate I mean it was really because I had started This Sex Club, you know, Sanctum And a couple years into We were together for the first couple years

but a couple years into it, I was like, fuck, I want to explore two here. Like, I don't want to be married. Wait, let me understand this. So you're married. Yeah. And you've cheated a couple times. Yeah.

Then you start a sex club while you're married. How does one come to their wife and say, hey, babe, I'm going to start a sex club. Like, what does she say? Well, you know, she was actually pretty supportive of it, believe it or not. Because we are in a, we were not in a good place financially. I had lost a lot, like in 2009,

when the economy kind of went, went upside down, I went upside down with it. We went to Bali, we lived there for three years, and I started to do parties and events and things. And then when I got back to LA, I didn't know what the hell I was going to do. And I was trying these different things. I was completely broke. My ex-wife and I were sleeping in her mom's kitchen. My kids were in this bedroom. We had nothing. I got a real estate license. Since I was applying for jobs, I applied for a job as like a parking attendant. I mean, anything I could get. I was 46 years old.

I was unemployable. I had always worked for myself. You know, I was fucked. One night, I watched eyes wide shut, and I'm like, I've got this idea. Yeah. I've got this idea. And because we were in the worst circumstance, we had nothing, she was just like, okay, okay. So does she want to come to the parties with you, or is she like you go to you?

to know what the parties were going to be. I just knew that I had no money and I was good at doing parties and I wanted to do some kind of a party in L.A. All my friends in L.A. I was like, can I, you know, does anyone have any work for me? But anyone, you know, let me just use your club for a night. You know, I just want to, you know, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, no one would give me, there was no openings for me whatsoever. And so I just was like, well, what can I do? And then I thought of like, okay, I'll create this secretive thing where, where like there is no location because I have no location. And I'll start selling tickets and memberships. And if I can do that, then I'll have money and I can get a location.

And so it was all just like, strangely enough, everything that I did was just about trying to survive and make it work. But it was like it hit some nerve because no one had done it before like that. No one had done like a high-end elite kind of secretive sex party thing in 2013. So sex was always part of it, though. It was always like this is going to be an element of these parties? Or was that I'm going to. Sensual, sexual. I knew at my very first party, I did a sex show.

And I knew that, I knew that for whatever reason I had this idea that I'd have this membership and those members would be able to watch a sex show, a live sex show, which I'd never seen. And I'd never, I didn't even know how to make that happen. I contacted porn agencies and they were like. Like, you know, you want people to fuck in front of guests at a party? Like, what are you talking about? Like, no, we're not going to send you people for that. And I'm like, no, it's cool.

It's going to be really good. I'm going to have them all in tuxedos. And it's going to be this beautiful thing. They're like, no, you're fucking crazy. And then I just put in, I went on Craigslist. And I found this couple, this lesbian couple. And they put him in these bird costumes and in a bird cage. And they crawled out of the bird cage and made love for there.

At that point, there was 10 members. I was able to sell like 10 memberships or eight member, whatever it was. And that was my first, I thought it was the first sex show I ever watched and the audience and the people reacted to it in this way. And I was like, oh my God, this is really something. When they're watching it, did you observe that the audience also wanted to have sex? Or was it just something? At that point, no. No.

At that point, it was just like this feeling of irreverence. I think people want to want things to be brought out of them. they don't want to feel responsible for it coming out. Does that make sense? Absolutely it does. And you're absolutely right. And I think there's something about, like I said, your energy that allows people to be comfortable to be themselves. Like a non-judgmental.

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I love sex. I love sensuality. I love all of it so much. It's the most beautiful thing to me. So like I don't have any problems with it. I would have problems with anything that's not consensual.

I don't have problems with someone that was, you know, I mean, I don't, you know, even though I deal with people who are into like sex work and men who like that kind of a thing, I don't think, I don't like that kind of a thing. I used to do some of that with sanctum. I don't do that kind of stuff anymore. It's not, it's so empty. It's like the antithesis of what sexuality should be and can be when you, when it's about money.

because then for a man you're just basically paying, you're paying someone to just, what, like you're masturbating inside someone, really, is all you're doing. You're not, there's no connection and there's nothing. So then all you're doing is really masturbating. So just masturbate. You know, like don't, you don't need to involve anyone else. But if you want to, like, make love with somebody,

then, then, like, you know, really get into them and understand them and know them and feel them. And then you start to have the kind of sex that, well then you don't want to go back anywhere else, I think. Before we go any further, and this is fascinating, but before, you know, we have the thing that says, raised by wolves, spiritual teachers, drug experimenters, and rock and roll record.

What was your childhood like? That's funny. I wrote that a while ago. Yeah. Well, I mean, my childhood was not very pleasant. Parts of it probably were. I mean, my parents, my mom, you know, is a poet and a very creative person, but she was insane.

And my dad was a drug addict, alcoholic, but a musician. And, you know, they were very creative, but they were not good parents. And so there was abuse and there was just neglect, really. And I had my first sexual experience way too young.

I was six years old, you know? Oh, wow. Yeah, and I've talked about this and I don't mind talking about it. I think it helps other people who have things that they're hiding and they feel uncomfortable about it. That's why I talk about it.

But my stepfather and my mother, I mean, this is just insanity. I mean, it's just horrible shit. But my mom and my stepfather would molest my mom's sister who was 13, it's 13 year old girl. And then she would come in my room and I was a 6 year old boy.

And she would come in and she would like give me head. You know, my dick was the size of my pinky. I'm a 6 year old kid. And then I would go inside her. I would have sex with her. And what's strange is that the feeling, I mean, look, I mean, this is just the truth and people can deal with it or not listen to it.

I don't really care. But the feeling of it, was like, it was the most amazing feeling I'd ever felt. And so, you know, I was like, I was like woken up to this thing, this feeling of sexuality as a child in this way that, you know, I wouldn't wish that anyone, it's fucking, it's insanity. But for me anyway, it like, I mean, it made me who I am, you know, and I've had to obviously go through so much fucking therapy

and like, all this shit just to be like okay. But, you know, there's that thing in me where, like, sexuality is, something, I don't know how to explain it. Well, it's been part of your life, basically, your entire life. Forever. I think that it's interesting that you are so open about that. Oprah was one of the first people that came out and she said that she was molested and it was really confusing because it felt good. Yeah. And I think that that's maybe where the shame in it lies. Have you found that when you've talked to people that have been molested? Well, I mean, I just, I usually, I talk to people about this kind of stuff out loud so that they can feel comfortable.

Yeah. Like I don't, to me, I know, I know that, that, that this chain of events that happens was nobody's fault necessarily. I don't have a lot of anger or like, you know, my mom, she had such a messed up childhood with stuff with her father. And then it happens with her sister. And then, and then she comes into my room and does, which, it's, it's no one's fault. It's just, it's just, it's just, you know.

it's just sad. And so then it happens to me, and I can either hide it and feel bad about it and feel shame about it and just like, you know, feel like whatever the fuck I'm going to feel, or I can just put it out in the open, let it go, let other people share with me what they've experienced, and we can all heal together.

And I think that, you know, that's probably part of the reason that my parties are what they are, is I'm not, strangely enough, like, I would never go to a sex party. Huh. I would never go to a sex party. Why? Because I don't like that kind of sex.

I need intimacy to get, I mean, I can take a pill. I could take a pill and like fake it. That's easy to do. But if, but for my, for my real sexuality, because I don't really, I don't really want to take a pill, I need to feel intimacy. So I need to know somebody. I need to feel like I need to, yeah, intimacy gets me charged and that energy gets me. gets my dick hard. And so, so like at a, at a sex party generally, yeah, it's just, people are just kind of, yeah, it's not, it's just not my scene. That's interesting because I've asked a lot of

Michael's friends who are single, I'm like, go hire someone. And they say, no, they don't, they don't want to do that. It feels too transactional. And they say the same thing you, like, they want to know someone and they also want to like pleasure the woman knowing that she actually likes it. As you were talking, I was thinking like I might, I would probably have a hard time with that too, because I need to know that somebody on the other end is also like valuing that experience. If it feels transactional me, I feel like I'm taking advantage of someone or like to your point earlier. It's like it's not great. It's not an active participant. Yeah, I mean, I mean, it feels fine. You know, like there's levels of everything. And there's nothing wrong with it. Like, I don't judge people who do it. And sex work is important for a lot of people. And there's a lot of people who survive off of it. And also the other side of it when people are like, like, people are. like, you know, at least they're not turning into total fucking deviance and doing crazy. It's pretty, transactional sex is actually, you know, it's an agreement. Here's this money. I'm going to do this.

I'm going to do that. But I just don't think that sex is very good. And if that's the only kind of sex you're having, I think that's kind of sad. But sometimes that's, maybe that's it. You know, maybe that's what you're going to get. If you're not willing to get to know people and be vulnerable, be open and really, like, take your time with people and share your soul and your heart with someone, if you just want to be like, you know, hidden and just not not care about anybody, then yeah, you're going to be

paying for sex. So when this stuff's all happening to you as a child, how do you process that as a child and how do you kind of go through adolescence without getting totally derailed? Or do you get derailed and then kind of come back to later? I mean, I, because my parents were so, like, I became a total, like, health jock sports. I mean, I was a swimmer, a water polo player, a mountain, I raced mountain bikes, I didn't touch cigarette, it's no alcohol, I was so anti-everything because, you know, I was like on the bar stool next to my dad when I'm a kid. You saw it. You know, I was just telling the story the other day.

I had to drive my dad home on his lap because he was too drunk to drive. And I don't know how old I was, but I know that I couldn't have reached the pedals. I was on his lap steering up this winding hill to get back to the house. So like, you know, and this is like before seatbelts. This is like, you know, 70s. It was just a different world. And there was a lot of beauty and all of it too. I mean, you know, yeah, a lot of it was not great, but then also, like, you know, there was, there was some great stuff going on, you know, there's a lot of music, a lot of, a lot of, a lot of talented people, and also some of the people that were around me that were just partying.

And, I mean, you know, my, we had guys that were writing poetry for the dead and a lot of grateful dead stuff going on around us all the time. And, you know, a lot of those, a lot of that music and, and a lot of recording. a lot of sessions. You know, my dad had a recording studio. And, you know, my mom wasn't out there person, but her poetry was beautiful. She'd read me her poetry, you know.

And so like, like there was a lot, it was dark, but it was also incredible, you know, and I think that I was loved. I think that my mom and my dad loved me. I think that they, that when they weren't, you know, being fucking idiots, they were very loving with me. So I know, I got loved.

I know what love is and I, and I, but yeah, no, I mean, I had to, A lot of my life was using that my child is as an excuse to be an idiot. You know, and that doesn't work because then I'm just burning bridges and messing things up. And in the end of the day, I'm hurting myself. I mean, I'm hurting other people too. But yeah, at some point you learn, like, you've got to get your shit together and you can't blame the past.

You can't act from this place anymore. Well, not everyone can do that. Right? Well, I don't know. I mean, at some point you either do it or you just end up, what, like a drug addict or a, in jail. I think that's a more common outcome. Yeah, I mean, it definitely happens. Yeah. I mean, also

my wife, you know, like my ex-wife, I mean, she's, I'm so lucky. You know, she is like a together beautiful woman. You know, I spent 20 years with her and I have two kids with her and she's you know, she kept, she

helped me. She saved my life. You know, she helped me be a human being. And, and And even in, you know, in my imperfections, which there were a lot of, you know, she, she was, she was incredibly helpful for me. And then having kids just completely changed me. And I mean, as you guys know, like, you know, the second you hold your kid in your arms or that first time, you're just, you're just, you're fucked. You're like, this is it. I'm going to protect this thing now for the rest of my life. I mean, I'm going to die, kill or die for this thing. At least I felt

that way the second. Started crying both times. Yeah. I mean, it's just, it's so overwhelming. And finally, there's something, like, bigger than you, more important than you. So that helps you grow, you know. Yeah, but I don't know. I mean, I still have to, you know, I'm sober right now. And, you know, I have times of, like, going out of clarity where I'm not, where I'm not in a spiritual place, where I'm getting messed up, where I'm, you know, I mean, I'm in a world where I can be, I can be pretty crazy if I want to be. There's everyone will be happy.

No one is bothered if I want to, like, you know, have sex with every fucking girl around me and do drugs and drink. No one says stop. That's got to be hard. Well, it just is what it is. I mean, I'm celebrated for that kind of behavior. So that's the world I live in. So for me to come out of that, it takes some discipline, you know. But when I slip into that place, which I do sometimes, it doesn't take me very long to get out of it.

you know if someone's listening can you walk us through don't take my advice if you're listening exactly what a sex party looks like and i mean from the second you walk in to when you leave and i need like are we going in at 6 p.m and coming out at 3 in the morning like i want the whole picture i want what it looks like because there's some people who are listening that are like i want to hear about a sex party i never want to go to one some people are listening they're like where do i sign up okay well i'll give you an a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of Elysian House. I'm plugging Elysian House.

I'll give you an Olisean House sex party. When I met Elena who's sitting over there, we started talking, and I wasn't planning on doing this again. I'm opening a restaurant, and I have a cannabis brand, you know, and I wasn't planning on doing this again, and we started talking, and she was, you know, I got, I did ayahuasca in Costa Rica, and I came back, and I just had a lot of realizations, and I was really coming from this place.

of love and and I knew that that was that was the direction I wanted to stay in and she was like well maybe you could do a sex party coming from that place maybe maybe there'd be a way to do that was the first one the first ones you did were not coming from that place is what you're saying sanctum sanctum was very much kind of a man like a a male ego dream you know it was like it was like it was a male ego dream it didn't have much to do with love and connection it really didn't. And that was, at that point, that's what I wanted and that's what I wanted to explore. And that's what I did. But then when I sold it in 2009, I mean, sorry, 2019. Yeah, 2019. I was like, I don't ever want to do that again. You know, I don't, that's not, that's not,

that's not what I'm about, you know, and it's not fulfilling. And it really just doesn't even make me feel good. And so, so when I started this one, I was like, I, well, I wonder if you could, do this about love and connection. So, so I think we have a pretty good, I think, I think we're in that direction, you know, and are you filming me? What are you doing? Instagram stories. Instagram stories. Yeah. Okay. I just want to know. It's kind of weird when you do that. So I can't help it. I want to know every detail about a sex party. I mean, no, it's perfectly fine. I'm so curious. I guess I should be okay with someone doing that. Well, there's about,

three can. I know. I lose track of those for some reason. I want to know every single detail about a sex party. Okay. So we, so the doors open. at 10 o'clock. Okay. So I'm going to be a guest. So you walk into this courtyard. And in the courtyard, it depends on thematically what we're doing. But let's do the spring one.

So there's chairs that are swinging back and forth with beautiful girls on these chairs and these beautiful costumes and such. And there's flowers everywhere. And we did these things where we have these offering places. So there's three different, three different kind of places that you can go over and these goddesses that are sitting in these, I don't know, garden-like things with stones and things behind them. I mean, it's pretty theatrical and elaborate. And this is just the courtyard. So you walk in there and what you do when you get in there is you make some offerings.

So the first one we did was write down what you want to, write down what you want to release from the winter. And you would write that down and then you'd hand it to actually. to her. She was the winter goddess. And then we got these pieces of paper that you would write down an offering on it. And then when you light it on fire, we'd go, it was almost like a magic spell. So you were releasing something from the winter. Then there was this really beautiful girl on these rocks. And she asked, what would you like to happen tonight? Like what's your passion or your dream or your thing for the evening? And you'd write that down. And then she would put that into an urn. So she wouldn't burn that one. And then there was this other goddess and it was,

oh yeah, what do you want to see? What do you want to bring to you in the springtime? So you would write that down. And so those things would burn. So that first, that first interaction is completely not sexual. It's about intention and coming into your own kind of heart and thinking about your intentions and what you would like to release or bring and what you want this night to be about. And then you go into our bar and we have this bar with a pool table and such and these bar, Martenders are making cocktails. So maybe you'd get some kind of an elixir. They have, you know, different things. There's some champagne or whatever you might want. Guests are starting to arrive. You know, generally men are dressed pretty well. Some of them are wearing tuxedos because they think that they should. I'm not telling them to wear tuxedo. But I think it's kind of the default for a wealthy gentleman is a tuxedo. It kind of makes sense to them. Some of the other people are getting more elaborate with their costumes, maybe like a, what do you call that thing when you tie it up here? And it's like a fluffy, almost, Like a scarf. An ascot? Like an ascot or things like this. You know, different types of things. Some men are, you know, maybe a little bit more like Burning Man-esque. But not a lot of those. I'm probably the only, I mean, I actually, the reason I wore this robe, I'm sorry, I go all over the place. But we can track it. But this is how I feel most comfortable. Okay. This is how I like am. This is the real me. Okay. Me and clothes is not really the real me. But I mean, but I'm not really the real me. But I'm gonna come naked. I'm naked under this. Okay. You should, yeah, you could have come naked. I mean, come with your penis up. I will. I will. It's a show for it. It's a show for it. You could do it. If I did it, I'd probably have a clear call from HR, but let me, I might

let me. Maybe send me one of the table. Can you send me one of those when you're gone? I mean, I feel like, I'm happy to. I feel like I should.
