A very smart cookie.
And now Lauren Everts and Michael Bostic are bringing you along for the ride.
Get ready for some major realness.
Welcome to the skinny confidential, him and her.
Hello everybody.
Welcome back to another episode of the Skinny Confidential, him and her show.
Today we have Ryan Blazer from Test My Home back on the Skinny Comfinal.
confidential him and her show for the second time.
Ryan Blazer is the founder and CEO of Test My Home, specializing and identifying and eliminating
hidden environmental toxins that impact health.
After overcoming his own severe symptoms caused by mold and lead exposure, he discovered the power
of addressing the home environment directly.
By uncovering environmental toxins and issues in the home, he's been able to restore his health,
and now you can too.
Lorne and I personally have worked with Ryan to come into our home here in Austin, Texas,
identifying things that we need to be aware of.
anyone that's interested in non-toxic living and living in the cleanest, healthiest way,
or just getting some pointers on some healthy swaps to make in the home so that you can feel healthier and live better.
This episode is for you.
With that, Ryan Blazer, welcome back to the Skinny Confidential, him and Her show.
This is the Skinny Confidential, him and her.
Welcome back to the show.
Your episode crushed it.
Test My Home.
If you guys haven't listened, go listen to it.
He basically gave us all different kinds of things that we could do to improve our home and make it more healthy.
It's a very successful episode.
We have you back because we really want to dig deeper in this episode.
First, update us since you've been gone.
You said that you did ketamine therapy.
You have to tell me about that.
Yeah.
So I've been doing some deep work trying to go into the subconscious,
trying to heal some of the past traumas and things because I was doing all the things.
I was exercising, eating a healthy diet, had the pretty much perfect environment.
But still, there were things that were still coming up.
I wasn't feeling the best.
We've realized that when I was four years old,
I had this pet, little cat that my parents gave me, a little kitty cat.
And I was playing with it.
And I played with it too rough, and I killed it.
And as a four-year-old, I was like, oh, my gosh, what did I just do?
You know, I went to church and learned, don't kill.
And I'm like, oh, my gosh, I'm a monster.
What did I do?
Like, God's not going to love me.
My parents are going to be disappointed.
And I hid the cat and, you know, they found it and stuff.
But I felt that deep pain and shame inside of me.
And I realized that that stuck with me for most of my life.
And I had that pain.
When I got into like teenage years, I learned about, you know, alcohol and drugs and girls.
And I kind of dove in in that as a way to kind of kill and cover that pain up.
And it worked really good.
But as I got older, I realized that's not sustainable.
And so, you know, working out and music and meditating and all the things that we do to try to help us feel better.
And they would cover it.
It would help.
But it still wasn't there.
And that's, you know, we got into controlling the environment.
That's when I got into building the nightclubs and the recording studios and the high-end churches and things as a way to manipulate.
the environment around me to try to make me feel better. But then I also realized that I could have an
ego and my ego can cover up some of this stuff. And so my eager would protect me and I knew that
helping other people and doing nice things would help build my ego up. But at all at the end of the day,
that was still under, it was like a sliver in my soul that was always there. And I didn't really
realize it until I went deep and did some inner work. And that stuff came out and I remembered that.
And then once I could go back in time and forgive my four-year-old self,
realize that, hey, you're not a murder.
You actually felt bad for doing that, and that's a good thing.
You have a conscience.
If I would have continued to kill little pets and animals and liked it, that's a bad thing.
That's a psychopath.
But I actually had a conscious that told me that's not a good thing.
And so I was able to forgive my four-year-old self.
And when I did that, a weight lifted off of me that was, it's unexplainable.
So let me ask you this.
When you did that, for people that are unfamiliar with that kind of therapy,
Did you have no recollection of this prior to doing that?
Like you didn't, you weren't aware that this even happened or your mind blocked it out?
No recollection at all.
My mind had completely blocked it out somewhere in my teenage years.
I'd completely forgot about it.
Wow, that's so crazy.
Things like that can happen that are like such a big moment in your life.
I mean, though you're young and you just completely don't remember it.
So when you're doing that therapy, do you, is it like you remember the memory vividly or is it like you kind of piece to it?
How does it work?
Well, in this particular session, I was just kind of going through different things and it just kind of popped up.
out of nowhere. Like, wow, this situation happened and there was a lot of pain and shame and guilt
associated around that. Oh my gosh. That's so crazy that your brain remembered that and it
dominoed so many different things. So when you, was it as simple as forgiving yourself to help
you get over, not, I don't want to say get over it, but to help you contextualize it and understand
that you needed to give yourself empathy? Yeah, I had to reframe the way I looked at it. Yeah.
Exactly. And also I had weird things around pets. Like I've always loved pets, but I didn't want to have one. And I never really realized why because I was afraid I was going to hurt it. And then the same thing when I first had kids, I remember my first child thinking, I need to really take care of this. This is really important. I'm not going to mess this up. And realizing that I had that deep subconscious, like when I first was given something precious, but I messed it up and did not do that again.
That makes so much sense, though.
You can totally see how that would come into having pets, having kids.
I can only imagine.
And that's crazy that you didn't believe it until the ketamine brought it out.
Was it one session?
A couple sessions.
It was like an onion.
Every time you go in.
And psychedelics can do this too in meditation.
There's other ways to get there.
But every time it's like an onion, found something, uncovered it, fixed it.
Then went in again and it's like layers.
You know, got all the way back.
The more that we've done this show for as long as we've done it,
like one of the like big personal takeaways for me
is how drastically we're all impacted between the ages of like two and seven
and how drastically so many of us are so unaware of that impact.
Like I even imagine like, you know,
I imagine even for myself like I think about some,
the reason I'm so curious is there's probably things that I block from,
from that period of time that I'm like,
that I'm like nervous to unpack and uncover because you know, who knows what's been
but I think we don't, now that you, we've become parents and we've done this show for so long
and talk to people like yourself and then talk to doctors and therapists and all these different
people. There's, I think many individuals like their life is largely dictated by what happens
between that like one and seven period. And we're just, we're just not aware that that's,
that's a reality. Yeah. And they don't feel good because of that. And they know there's something
there and they're looking for something. It's like, it's like when you walk by the fridge and
you open it up, even though you're not hungry. It's like you're subconsciously looking for
something. What is it that I need to fix this and cover it? And when people have it bad enough,
that's when they turn to these addictions, the drugs and alcohol and the gambling and the sex.
And I mean, even working out, some of these things can be addictions when they do it too much,
making money. And so it's these underlying things that we're trying to cover up. And when we
uncover those, fix those. And that weight lifts off. It's pretty freeing. It's pretty amazing.
You know, I've got migraines. My whole life. I had one so bad today that I had to like cancel this
meeting and someone told me, actually someone that I work with closely, said that they heard
that migraines and headaches come on after a trauma. And once your body learns how to trigger a
headache, it'll do that regularly. And the same person lost her mother, unfortunately, in the last
year, she never had headaches before. And now, since then, she gets them all the time. And I want,
and so that's why I kind of want to do some trauma because I'm like, I wonder, I've had headaches
since I was like maybe like three, four years old. I'm like, I wonder what that, maybe there's
something, maybe there's not. But it makes me think, like, when you tell
these kind of stories, like, whoa, like maybe something happened, you know.
It's interesting, too, what your line of work is with controlling the home with, with the past
that you just told us.
Right.
It's very interesting.
Yeah, because I found you can manipulate the body with the environment and the mind.
You can manipulate it.
And so I dove so deep into the environment of how can I, like, early 20s, it was the nightclub
scene, the lights, the sound, the music, the entertainment, the vibe of the people around.
It felt so good.
And it's fun.
Who doesn't like to go out and do that?
But it was all to try to make myself feel better.
I wanted to feel good inside.
And so I was chasing it.
But I never really got to it.
So I kept learning and kept diving in deeper and deeper.
And finally got to a point where I realized it's not the things out around outside of me.
It's inside of me.
It's in my mind.
That's where it was at.
You look really good because I haven't seen you in like what, two or three years.
It's been a while.
Yeah.
You look great.
You look like settled.
I can't explain.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You look good.
Yeah.
And that's really what it was because I was doing a lot of the other things right.
but I was missing that piece.
You are in the business of testing homes,
and now you're expanding it to the mental state,
the environmental state, the body state,
and I kind of want to go over that.
I look at the way the environment is around us as one factor,
but we also have the environment of our body,
and we have the environment of our mind.
But we can even expand out.
We have the environment of our galaxy.
We have the environment of our earth.
We have the environment of our home,
our body, our cells,
and ultimately our mind. And all those things work with each other. They all interact with each other.
So if we just take those middle three, the body, the home, and the mind, they all interact with
each other. If we have a lot of things going on in the brain, have a cluttered mind, we're going to have
a cluttered home. We're going to have things wrong with the body. And so my specialty was in or is in
the home. So when we go into the home, we look at all the different factors of the home, what makes
an optimal state for the human to exist? What does that look like? We'll test all of those things.
And if we're out of balance in one of those areas, we bring it back into optimal state.
So what are those things? Like, just give us the flat blueprint. When you're going into our
house, what are you going to look for? Do you want me to just go down the whole list?
I mean, just give us some of the main points that you're looking for.
Yeah, so main points, we're going to be looking at air quality. What are we breathing in?
We're going to be looking at chemicals. What are we putting on the body? What are we cleaning with
our house? What is off gassing from our home? We're going to be looking at mold and microbiology,
bacteria, what little creatures do we have that are microscopic that are floating around, that
are putting off toxins into the air that we're breathing in? Then we're going to look at the water
quality. What are we drinking? What are we bathing? What are we showering in? Then we're going
to look at the lighting because our eyes and the circadian rhythm depends a lot on the lighting
that's coming into our eyes. And then we're going to be looking at the technology of the EMF
exposure. We're electromagnetic beings and the things around us that run off of electricity
interact with our body and make a difference. Where do you find the most mold?
when you do these houses because how many, you've done thousands now? Yeah. Where do you find the mold the most?
Anywhere where we have water. So mold is an organism just like us. It needs water and food. And so anywhere
where we have water, we're going to find the mold. So behind the showers, under the sinks, in the roof,
if there's a leak, in your crawl space, if you have one. That's where we see it. So are you going up in our
attic and our basement and everything? We're going to look at every squirons of your house. Yeah.
Okay. And would you be able to smell any, like can you sensitively with your nose smell or how do you know the air
quality. Is there a test to measure it? If it's bad enough, we can smell it. But a lot of times we need to
sample the air. We need to sample the dust. We need to sample different surface locations and behind the
walls. And we send that to the laboratory. They'll put it under their microscopes and tell us. And we should
give people context of this. Ryan, you have to go back and listen to this show. Just search,
test my home, skinny confidential. You'll see it just a couple, two, three years ago. It was a great
episode. And you tested our home that we're currently living in after that episode. And we went
through and changed a bunch of stuff and figured out, you know, different filters and
fixtures and all the things we needed to adjust. But we were moving. We have a new home. We've really
talked about it. And so we're going to be testing this new home because we want to make sure,
before we move in. Because the last time you came, we had already been living there and had all the
stuff in there. So this gives us an opportunity to start kind of fresh in a way because we don't have
any furniture in there yet. We don't have, we haven't done any painting. We haven't done any remodeling.
So it will give us an idea. How do you know if someone has used paint that is toxic? And what do you
do for that? Typically, it takes about two to three years completely off gas. And so we'll take an air
sample, send that to the lab, and we'll see if there's any residue of that in the air that's coming
off. But also just asked, though, if you've painted in the last six months, what did you use? Can we get a
sample of that? Can we look at it? Do a little research. It'll tell you on the label if it's non-VOC or what
chemicals are in it. When you see all of these people's home, what are the diseases that you're seeing
from the environment? It's a whole range of disease, because what it's doing is stressing the body.
And so when the body's stressed, it's going to manifest in all kinds of different illnesses.
And it really comes down to your genetics.
So what are you deficient with your genetics?
Where is your weakest link?
And that weakest link is usually the first thing to break.
So it can be different with everybody.
I just recently did cranial sacral and had a somatic experience.
How many people need to do things like meditation, cranial sacral, what you did?
Like when you go into their home, can you feel the energy of people who need to do like
a cleanse or a detox. Oh, absolutely. And that's one of the reason we're trying to expand out into
looking at the environment of the mind and the body is because I'll go in and I'll do these tests
and I'll see maybe the husband and wife aren't getting along. Maybe there's an affair going on
and there's this tension and it's causing a lot of problems and energetic wise and the kids can feel
it and there's a lot of problems and they're thinking, oh, do we have mold or we have bad water quality?
It's like, no, you're having an affair. You're living in a lie. That's causing a lot of stress on the
family. It's called a lot of stress in the body. Do you go in and say you're having an affair?
No, I don't say. No, they hire me to come in and look at the home, but I see that.
And being in thousands of homes and seeing all these people, a lot of them have the right diet and
they have the right fitness, they're doing a lot of the right things, but they're still not well.
And so in my mind, I'm like, why are they not well? What's still, what's the missing link?
Can you imagine for like, okay, Ryan, you need to put that mold or air there. And you're like,
listen, buddy, you're having a fucking affair. I mean, you should get a test for that, like a
petri dish that can test. That would be, that would be a reality show.
I don't. Yeah, it's not the air,
filter, it's your scumbag, buddy. I don't want to overwhelm the audience, so I would love for you to give
them three pillars of where they can start and what they can change that are easy and tangible.
Yeah, I mean, really, it comes down to getting fresh air inside your house and getting rid of the
chemicals. And you like Jasper, which we use. Mm-hmm. Is that what you use for air? You like opening
the windows, giving the house the ability to breathe. Yeah, filtering out the air, using some standalone
on air filtration. Jasper's my favorite. They're amazing. But also get in the fresh air in
because we live in these little boxes that are closed up. And if everybody's in there breathing
and chemicals are off gas and you're not getting fresh air in, that's a problem. So that's
probably the number one. Number two is we downgrade the electronic exposure and the usage that we can
as much as possible. I know phones are a big addiction. That's a big problem. But if we can put
those things on airplane mode when we're having dinner, when we're having family time, or when we're
sleeping, when we're having a meeting and we're on a podcast, we don't need to have our phones in
our pocket radiating us right now so they can be on airplane mode.
And so did you see on our last,
in your pocket?
It's not even in the room.
Okay.
Good.
Did you see our last episode, we had a viral clip with you go about the shoes in the house.
I tried to tag and I don't know if you saw it where Chloe Kardashian commented about you
and said, I love this man.
Did you see that?
I saw that.
Yeah.
That's really cool.
But that, I mean, you know, shoes in the house talking about that.
I mean, you know, we don't wear any shoes in the house anymore.
And I was resistant to that in the very early days.
but now like I can't imagine wearing shoes in the house
and I think that's a big one right?
Really?
You feel like that.
Yeah, I mean, listen, like,
like Lauren does this thing where like sometimes I'll forget my keys in the laundry room.
And I'll put a toe in and I'll be like, let me get.
I just have to like step in and get it.
And she,
but I'm like,
that's not that extreme.
No,
Ryan,
he like will step a toe and I expect him to crawl on his knees.
He will step a toe in the house on the rug after he just wore his shoes in the public
bathroom and he wants to step the toe in.
But it's a one step to grab the key.
I'm going to get him one of those.
things that are in E.T that you can get, reach and get the keys. But based on what you've seen and
what you know, I think just rehashing and explaining people why they should not have shoes in
their home. Yeah. Because it's like that's a big one. Yeah, because we can control our home,
but we can't control what's out in the public. When you mentioned public bathrooms, there's so
much nasty stuff on the floor, toxic cleaning supplies. But when you're walking out on the street,
whatever's falling from the sky and pets and all kinds of microbiology that we're putting on our
shoes. And then we walk inside of our house, we track that stuff right inside of our house.
Especially if you have little ones that are crawling on the floor.
They're getting that in their hands.
They're getting it in their mouth.
So we want to keep that stuff out of our home.
We want to treat our homes like temples.
That's our sacred place.
That's our little spot on this planet that we have control over.
And so we want to keep all the toxins out of there as much as possible.
What do you think about like slippers in the house if they're just in the house?
Is that okay?
Yeah, that's great.
I think that's perfect.
Yeah.
Okay.
So slippers and house shoes are fine as long as they're just in the house.
And you know what?
For people, this is like a, I think kind of like a chic thing to do too.
We went to a dinner.
party with our friend Mona and she provides guests like obviously she has them take the shoes off
but then she provides guests these slippers I think she's probably Amazon or something and they can wear
them when they come over so some people you know that's a nice thing to do I think if you're going
have guests and they're like oh what are my shoes you can like give them these and she said they
weren't that expensive how do you say when someone comes to your house to take your shoes off what's the
proper etiquette I'm just ask them does your mind taking your shoes off that's all you say
well and if if they give me a funny look and I'll explain why but most people are pretty
respectful. Most people that come to my house know me and so they know right off the bat.
They know not to mess around. Yeah, but it's kind of like where we were 40 years ago was
cigarettes. It was funny. We were watching a TV show with the kids and it was an older one and they
went to the restaurant and they're like non-smoking or smoking. And my kids are like, what is that about?
Like, oh yeah, back in the day, they didn't know as much about smoking. And so you could actually
smoke in the cigarette in the restaurant. I think it's the same thing these days with
shoes and with EMF and with technology. I think that's kind of where we're at. Like,
that's a sign of respect. You go into someone's house. We're not going to track crap into your
house. We're not going to turn the phones on in your house. That's, you know, that's kind of where we're
my favorites. My favorites when your dad goes to the airport and obviously walks around the airport
in the public bathroom with his suitcase and then he rolls his suitcase with his shoes in
our house. Your dad does it too and he's not even coming from the airport. He's just coming from
can make a rule that no one can roll their suitcase in the house and from the airport that's been
rolling all over and no one can put their shoes in the house. I love that rule. I would love to make it
illegal. That's a good one. I like that one. I know. The suitcase. I think some of the difficulty
depending on the shoe choice, especially as you get older, and I'm just going to speak for the men,
like sometimes getting these shoes off as... I know, but we got to maybe get some slides. You know what I
mean? Maybe, maybe just get some slides. I would rather cut my feet off and wear slides. Talk to me about
the EMF exposure from the cell phone to a baby's head and to our head, especially at babies,
because I know it's a thinner school. Well, because people are still skeptical about this subject.
Yeah, and that's the thing is that there's a lot of studies out there that are inconclusive,
and there's a lot of studies out there at higher levels that say, yeah, for sure, this stuff is
dangerous.
And at a really high level, it's starting to heat the body up.
We can measure that.
And so they've set the levels, like 10 million microts, that's really high.
And they do that so that they don't get sued, so that we can have this technology.
But there really is showing that the studies at lower level, there's some long-term biological
effects.
And those studies are kind of kept more quiet.
They don't really want us to see a lot of that stuff, simply because, you know,
that will disrupt the telecommunication industry.
And so when we have these devices and they're near us,
especially babies, and that's the thing is these were tested on adults,
not tested on babies.
The babies, the bones and the brain is a lot more sensitive.
And so we want to make sure that we're keeping it away.
Skulls open still.
That's right.
Yep.
Absolutely.
So, you know, there's a lot of these long-term effects that haven't really been fully studied
out yet.
And so we don't want to be the guinea pigs.
So at least for me and my family, we're going to take the precautionary principle.
And that's the until you can prove that it is safe.
I don't really want to have it around my kids.
There's a reason that Steve Jobs said he would never give,
I think it was Steve Jobs,
that he would never give his daughter a tablet ever,
and he would never put it to his ear.
I believe he said that.
I could be wrong.
I'm almost positive.
It was Steve Jobs.
Back check it.
Yeah, I think it was said that, yeah.
I always say, like, if you're going to put your laptop on your lap,
at least put like one of those safe shields or something on top of it,
because it's just getting hot.
Exactly.
On top of your private areas.
No, and we recently, like, especially after talking to you, I think we think the same way.
It's like you're going to have to use some of these technologies, but if there's ways to minimize
potential risks, then we're going to, like, easy swap.
A lot of people are really into AirPods and wireless headphones.
I used to be too.
I used to do it all the time.
Talking to guys like yourself, now I go and buy the old school wired headphones.
They work just as well with that.
Go back five years, or six or how long, that's what we were all doing anyway.
So I'm just going back to that and my thing is like, you know, why take a chance?
It worked just as well.
Yeah, the cords are kind of annoying.
But I don't have to think about like putting something in my ear and figuring something out later 20 years down the line.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, exactly.
That's an easy swap right there.
That helps a lot.
I want to talk about fabric.
I recently just switched all of my blankets out thanks to Paul Saladino.
I text him the brand I was using and he was like, that's pure polyester that you're breathing it all night.
Switch it immediately.
He does not mince his words.
what is your positioning on blankets and bedding and even leggings that we're wearing without underwear?
Yeah, for sure. If we can stick with the natural textiles, the cotton, the wool, the linen.
And we also, we don't want to switch those. And it's funny, there's some stuff biblically about
switching or mixing materials together that can cause static electricity. There's a tribal electric
effect, you know, with some of these material like silk and wool, you mix them together and
that cause static electricity. But we definitely want to stay away from the same.
synthetic materials, the polyesterers, there's microplastics in that. But also they're put in
the stain resistant chemicals on there, which is forever chemicals. And some of the wrinkle-proof
material, there's chemicals in there for that. And like the sweat, it's like some of the Lulu
lemon stuff. They say, oh, you can wear this. It's macrobacterial resistant. Well, that's because
they put chemicals on it. So when you put that on your body, now it's leaching into your body.
So when you look for a blanket, what are you looking for? Like organic wool, organic cotton,
organic silk, those are the things you really want to be looking for.
Natural materials.
I think I got bamboo.
Bamboo is great too.
Yeah, bamboo is a good one.
It's bamboo.
This brand is so cute.
It's simply organic bamboo and it's just 100%.
And it feels like a plush, lovely blanket.
Do you like cashmere?
If it's natural.
If it's real cashmere.
Yeah.
It's good.
Yeah.
But if it's fake cashmere.
Right.
Okay.
So people who are wearing like a t-shirt that's not 100% cotton or linen,
or silk, you're saying the chemicals are getting in to their skin.
Absolutely. Yes. Anything we put on our body, our skin is very absorbent.
I mean, it's exhausting, though. One of our partners on this show is literally cotton.
It's just cotton. The fabric of our lives. The fabric of our lives.
It's a pure cotton shirt. That's a freedom for your cotton.
And the reason you say it's exhausting because we're just not taught this stuff.
If we were taught this stuff and it was the norm, it wouldn't be exhausting.
Like how we lived years back ancestrally, a lot of this stuff, this is how we, that's how we
We should just all run around naked so we don't have to worry about it.
Michael, you start.
I think that sounds like a good idea until you realize that that includes everyone running around naked.
And so everyone has the fantasy of like, oh, like you get to see you.
But then it includes everyone.
That might cause more stress than we want.
It's an environmental toxin to the eyes.
What are some stories that have happened since you came on our show that have been really impactful for you?
You know, it's a lot of the same stories.
We had the one with the couple that were, they almost got a divorce because of the mold.
And we talked about on the last one.
And they found out it was the mold.
When they moved out of the home and fixed it, then they started getting along a lot better because mold can create irritability.
And I've just seen that story replay over and over and over again.
It's amazing how many people have, we call it mold sickness or moldy brain is there's just irritable.
And they're just not seeing things clearly.
And they're fighting with each other, fighting with the kids.
And I go into the home.
and when I find mold, and I can feel I can see that toxicity in their brain.
A lot of times we'll fix that mold.
We'll get it out of their homes.
They detox, and it's like night and day difference.
It clears the brain.
But I just see that same story replay over and over.
Let's talk about the detoxing a little bit.
If somebody has had a mold issue or they have a mold sickness,
Michaela Peterson came on the show and told her story.
And they've cleared the issue with someone like yourself or you,
and they want to detox.
How can you start to detox from a mold toxicity?
Yeah, there's a lot of good programs out there.
Pampa program. I think you guys had him on. Yeah, I like him. Dr. Pampa. His episode crushed it.
People love that. Yeah, because our bodies are toxic. I don't know anybody that doesn't have
stuff in their bodies that they need to get out, the heavy metals, the mold. And so there's just
different supplements and different diets, fasting, sauna, working out, making sure you're sweating
every day, working your lymphatic system, movement. All of these things are going to help the body
to detox. And a sauna is a good place to test for mold, correct? Correct. Because we're sweating in
there and a lot of moisture and so we can have mold growth in there. So you're saying that some
people are saunning, think that, thinking that they're bettering their health. But in actuality,
there's mold sometimes in the sauna. Yeah, and it just comes down to being clean in there and
putting the towels down and then you sweat on the towels and then throw the towels out. Don't let
them sit there overnight. What was the tool you gave me a while back? It was like a bomb that you
put, like it was like a mold bomb that you put in the sauna to make sure that it was like cleared
of any mold issue. It was like a almost like green. Yeah. So we was close. We was like a
chlorine dioxide gas. Yeah, that's what it was.
Yeah, chlorine dioxide is a really good sterilizer.
So we'll kill off any kind of microbiology, mold or bacteria.
It's kind of like antibiotics for the home.
And is it bad for you to breathe in?
Yeah, you don't want to breathe that in.
But once it is done and airs out, it doesn't leave any residue.
So that's why we like that.
And did we do that in sauna?
Yeah, he did it.
When he came and tested, we did.
I don't think, I think we were like, we didn't know if there was an issue,
but you were overcauture.
Like, let's make sure to do this to make sure that there is nothing.
Right.
But is that a good idea to do for people that have saunos?
dry saunas outdoors like every once in a while?
It is, especially if you're not being careful with the water,
you have the dry saunas where you're pouring the water on it and the water's splashing around.
You've got to be really careful with that.
So how often should someone think about doing that if they were like, hey, we just want to
make sure there's nothing.
If you see any kind of water staining or definitely any kind of funny looking growth,
that's when you want to be doing that.
Okay.
Yeah.
What do you do when you go to a hotel?
Because that's been, it's tricky.
I just try to tell them, hey, can you just clean with water?
water please and you don't need to change our betting. Is there a strategy that you have when you book a
hotel? Yeah, one thing I'll do is I'll go and I'll look right. When I go and I'll lift the toilet
tank up and look in it and see if there's mold grown in the toilet tank. If there is,
that's a good sign that there's probably mold in the environment itself. And so I'll ask for a different
hotel. Are you doing that? Are you lifting the toilet tank? Yes, Lauren. I can start.
Okay. Another thing is if I can smell a lot of, they're using a lot of chemicals with the cleaning.
sometimes even air fresheners in there.
So, you know, I'll ask ahead of time if I can, like what kind of chemicals are you using?
Is there fragrances in the room?
You know, a lot of times they don't know those.
That's kind of the problem with that.
But if I go in it's really bad, I will ask for another room.
What would you say if you could wave a wand about glade plug-ins?
It's not necessary.
People think that the home needs to have a smell to be clean and healthy.
It doesn't.
Actually, clean and healthy doesn't have a smell.
It's neutral.
So when you go into a house, you shouldn't perceivably notice any kind of smell.
Because if you do, if it's a chemical smell, usually they're trying to cover up a biological
or a chemical smell that's an issue.
So we really don't want to have any smells.
Neutral is what we want.

podcast, and we talk all the time about how to live better in the environment that we are currently
living in. Here's the thing. We live in an environment. Our biology was never designed for EMFs,
artificial light, seed oils, microplastics, all these modern stressors. And these assaults can disrupt
signals your body relies on negatively impacting gut, immune, and overall health.
This is why we love talking about Armour Colossum so much.
Armour Colossum works at the cellular level to bolster your health from within.

You can actually scoop it directly into your mouth as well.
We have it.
Our children have it.
Our pets have it.
And they also have these individualized travel packets or sticks that you can take while you're
on the go.
You can bring them to the office.
You can bring them on a flight.
You can bring them when you're traveling.
And it's simply just added to any beverage of your choice and know that you're doing
the right thing for your body.
Some of the benefits that I mentioned earlier is strengthen immune health,
fortified gut health, healthy metabolism, hair health, skin health.

This is one thing I feel like I've hacked because my hair used to be short, fried, really blonde,
and a mess. And I've changed it in a 360 kind of way. Okay.
So what I've done is I started eating a lot of organ meat and I noticed that my hair grew way faster.
I started doing scalp massage. I started using a high frequency wand on my hair. I started
microneedling my scalp. And I really started taking my supplementation seriously when it came to my hair.
So interneutriful. Nutrival is the number one dermatologist recommended hair growth supplement brand.
It's trusted by over one and a half million people. So you're going to say,
see thicker, stronger, faster-growing hair with less shedding in just three to six months.
This holiday season, Nutraful is the perfect gift for anyone on your list. So say you have your
mom or your aunt who's going through menopause or maybe a friend who just had a baby and is
experiencing postpartum hair shedding like I did. Or maybe it's your husband or your father
who relies on his baseball hat to cover up or anyone looking to support their overall hair health.
It's a really great gift. Give the gift of confidence this health.

that feels real, something bubbly and cultured that tastes great and actually heals my gut.
That's why I've been drinking so much Synergy Cambucha. Both at the studio and at home, our fridge is
always stocked with Synergy. Here's the thing. This is real kombucha. No shortcuts. It's always
raw and never pasteurized. Synergy is made with real organic ingredients that you can see and taste.
And that's how you know they're working. You're getting scientifically backed benefits with every sip,
like gut health, digestive support, immunity and protein absorption. Synergy is the OG cambucha, and I've always
loved their story, which goes back 30 years. Founder G.T. Dave first began brewing in his parents'
kitchen in 1995 after his mother's breast cancer diagnosis. Inspired by her recovery and the
healing powers of Cambucha, he kept perfecting the recipe and eventually shared it with the world.
That very same recipe is what you'll still find on shelves today, crafted with authenticity and
trusted for its real benefits. Each bottle delivers nine billion living probiotics across a diverse
of beneficial bacteria you won't find in your average supplement. That diversity comes naturally
from the way each batch is slowly fermented. These living cultures work hard to help your gut thrive.
And when your gut microbiome is more diverse, the benefits multiply, all working to make your gut
feel better. It's a daily reset for your body any time of day that you'll actually feel.
And synergy doesn't just improve your wellness. It also tastes great. There are over 20 bold flavors,
so you'll definitely find one that you love.
I've been into synergy forever,
and I usually gravitate towards the tropical flavors,
but this fall I've been reaching for more flavors that celebrate the season.
Honeycrisp apple, cranberry, blood orange.
They really have a flavor for everyone.
Each one is tangy, vibrant, and naturally bubbly.
There's a party in every bottle.
There's a reason cambocha is my go-to,
and of course there's a reason it's always synergy.
They were the first bottled cambucha paving the way
for kombucha as we know it, and it's been the number one in the U.S. and worldwide for over 30 years.
So sip it, love your gut, and feel the power of kombucha when it's crafted the right way.
The Senergy team can't wait for you to experience the gut health benefits of real kombucha,
so they're treating you to a free bottle.
Just slide into at Synergy Camboch's DMs on Instagram and send them the code Synergy Skinny to clean your coupon.
That's at Synergy Cambocha on Instagram.
drop the code and sip on your complimentary bottle while supplies last.
One of the things we wanted to talk about with you,
especially going into the holidays,
is candles.
People love their candles during the holidays.
Their Yankee gingerbread.
They're Christmas-scented, you know, this is a lot of people's bubbles,
but I'd love for you to go off on the candles.
Some pine needle fur.
Yeah, all that is little particles that are in the air,
their chemicals, and we're breathing that in.
And so when you light that candle, it's letting off billions of these little small particles into the air.
We're breathing that in.
And that's the smell we're getting.
So if we can go to like beeswax or something natural with some essential oil, I'm fine with that once in a while.
But even then, we really are designed to breathe pure fresh air.
That's really what we need.
I have a skinny confidential candle for you.
You're going to be so happy.
It's three ingredients, okay?
It's coconut oil wax.
It's organic eucalyptus essential oil.
and then it's the wick, which only has one ingredient in it, because the wick I found has so many chemicals.
So there's three ingredients. And I want you to see if it's Ryan approved. I'm going to give you one.
Well, sounds great. That's exactly what we want. Okay. Okay. That makes me happy that it's approved by you.
I should have texted you and asked you, but I feel like that was the vibe.
Yeah, because that's the thing. There's so many alternatives out there. You just got to know.
Yeah. And what are some of the health impacts where people may be burning these other candles that have some of these ingredients that are not so great for us?
So some of these chemicals, the phallates in them and they're in the condesruptors.
So hormones is a big thing for both male and female.
We're having hormone issues we're seeing through the roof and people are having to take
the different shots and the patches to fix that.
That's not normal.
And especially we never had to do that.
It's because we're mixing all these other chemicals in our body and now we're adding to our chemical
soup and throwing everything off.
So if somebody has hormonal issues and they were explaining their environment to you and
saying, hey, Ryan, my hormones are off and I burn Yankee candles every night.
that would be one of the first things in the environment you'd say stop doing that.
Right, right off the bat.
Yeah.
I mean, that's an easy low hanging fruit.
Just get rid of that stuff.
So get rid of the candles.
Get rid of the cleaning supplies.
You like branch basics, right?
I like branch basics.
I like just vinegar and water and little lemon essential oil goes a long ways.
And that's all you use in your house.
Well, there's other things we use, but for like 90% of just, like we just got done with
eating dinner.
We have the kitchen.
It's just half lemon essential oil or half distilled water, half distilled white vinegar,
lemon essential oil and just spray it.
and that cleans 90% of the surfaces.
It's funny you say that I'm reading a book right now about ancient Rome.
This sounds like a strange tangent.
But in one of these chapters I read last night, they were basically saying,
oh, in the streets smelled like vinegar and lemon.
Because back then, when they wanted to clean, they wanted to clean the city.
Like, that's what the emperor had them clean with.
Oh, that's interesting.
So it goes way back.
What do you use to wash your clothes with?
There's a couple different products that we use.
I think Zum is one of them.
Truly Free is another good one that we've been using lately that I like.
But even then, if though clothes aren't,
too bad. You can put a little bit of vinegar in there with it, a little bit of baking soda. It'll
clean it right up, freshen it right up. I have a question. The more that I've cleaned up my
environment, the more sensitive I am, which is a little annoying kind of because you become
almost crazy because everything starts to smell. Why is that? So there's two reasons for that.
One is that you're going to a different level of your health and awareness and you realize that,
hey, I can feel better. And now when you get exposed to some of these other things that bring you back down,
you notice it more. If you're always in the soup and you're always in the mix and you don't have
this higher level of understanding of how you can feel better, then you don't realize that it's a
problem. But once you get there, wow, I feel amazing. This is great. And then something brings you down.
And that can be emotionally, physically anything. When we have that contrast, now we can notice a difference.
So what you're doing is you're providing contrast in your life. You're saying, wow, now I'm in a really
clean, good environment. I step into one that's not. Your body notices that.
So it's like a shitty boyfriend.
It's like you have a shitty boyfriend and then you get a great boyfriend who treats you really well.
And then maybe you go back to the shitty boyfriend and you're like, wow, this is really shitty.
Absolutely, because you have contrasts in your life.
And now you can see that.
Lauren's like Heath Ledger when he played the Joker and his heads out the window in the cop car.
That's what she's like when we get an Uber with an Uber.
Because like they a lot of, listen, yeah, I understand why.
But it's like a lot of the Christmas trees, a lot of heavy colognes and perfumes because they're masking sense and they want the state.
A lot of, and I feel bad because people think that that's a polite thing to do for people.
people to make the car smell that way. But if you're somebody who's cleaned up your environment and
you don't have scent, it feels like you get slapped in the face. Oh yeah. Even me now.
Like if I get in one of those cars. You're so sensitive now. Admit it. No, because I, what I,
what you realize when you clean up your environment and you start using, you get rid of all the
chemical cleaning supplies and the fragrances and the artificial smells and the, and the deodorants
and the colognes and the perfumes and you just start living in a natural environment, you really
don't smell anything to your point. It's neutral. And so then when you do smell really strong
synthetic sense, you're so aware of it that it's like it bothers your nose. Like you're like,
you know, like when you wrink with it. It feels like you got to close your eyes almost. Yeah.
Because you headache. For sure. And there's another side to that too. The second part of that
is there's something called hermetic stress. And hermetic stress is applied to our body to help us
grow and adapt. So if we were always in optimal state with whether it's our mind or our body
or in the environment, then we would never adapt. We would never grow. In fact, we would
become stale and we would go backwards. So for example, our body.
If we want to grow the muscle, we go into the gym and we stress the muscle and then we let it recover and it builds back stronger.
So when we're in some of these environments, it's good to apply a little bit of hermetic stress to all of these areas so that we can grow and we can adapt.
So we do want to have a little bit of chemical once in a while, just really small amounts to tell our body, hey, it's okay to have the detox pathways working and everything going well.
But we always want to go back to optimal state.
And that's why at least in our homes, if we can create optimal state in our homes, that's ideal.
But then when we go out into the general public, we are going to get exposed to them of stuff.
And some of that stuff can be beneficial for us because it helps us adapt in the long run.
Okay, so you don't have to hang your head out of the car when we're driving.
You can adapt yourself a bit.
Okay, so it's good for me to be exposed a little bit.
A little bit.
We want that.
Yeah, because that's how we grow.
That's how we adapt.
What do women not know about nail polish?
This has been a hot topic all over Instagram.
We're all going and getting our nails done and putting our nails in the gel, whatever it's called.
What's the thing called the...
What's the thing when it cures the gel?
The dryer.
The dryer.
What do we need to know about that?
So this is where it comes back to hermetic stress again.
So we can apply that principle with that and say it's okay to have a little bit of exposure,
but now let's go home to a clean environment where we have fresh air, where we have air filtration,
where 90% of the time, 95% of the time, we're breathing clean, pure air.
But then when we go do something like that and we get a little bit of exposure, because we want to look good.
We want to do the fun things, and that's fine, because we don't want to be completely Nazi about this and 100%.
We're never going to get there because that's going to provide stress.
So we do those things knowing that we have a clean environment to go back to.
So the most important thing at the end of the day is making sure your home is where you detox.
That should be your temple.
That should be the one place where you really focus where you say, hey, I have one safe place on this planet that I can go to, and that's my home, and that's my safe place.
knowing what you know about environments in general,
the last time we talked to you
was kind of a little around the COVID period.
Not to be political here,
we're not being political,
but knowing what you know about environments
and looking back on that period of time,
what are the lessons that we should have learned
or should have done compared to what we did do
during that period?
I think realizing that we have control over the environment
and that we don't have to let fear
creep in that we know that at least in our home or and you know what there was a gym that I worked
with at that time where they implemented all the air filtration stuff these hypochloric acid to kill
between each of the sprays and we had a lot of really good environmental control system going on
the time and they were able to stay open throughout the whole time fighting local governments and
everything and they had no sicknesses and no outbreaks there with their crew because they were doing
all the right things so at least I think people hopefully walked away knowing that yeah there's
dangers out there, but we can control that. We don't have to let those dangers control our lives.
So there was a way to keep the environment clean enough where like something like that, a virus like
that could not thrive as much as it did in, I guess, environments that weren't as clean.
Right, because the world can be a scary place. There's always stuff out there that's going to affect
this. It's just what do we, what tools do we have to implement that we can fight back against that?
We have to have an intervention. Are you ready?
If you talk about my hairspram, I'm going to put it out.
I have to. I want to ask the expert. This is the last time I will bring it up.
It sure is, because I'm going to edit it out of the show.
It's not even going to make it.
It's going to, Carson, keep it in.
We have done everything that we need to do to our house with Test My Home.
I think we've checked all your buckets.
We've tried.
We're trying.
It's a constant edit, right?
Right.
But Michael still insists on spraying his hairspray, which if you smell-
The only one I see Ryan, I want to look handsome.
You would die.
You would die.
You're doing a good job.
So what is something where if someone's listening and their significant other does something,
that is bringing toxicity in the home. What's the compromise? So for that situation, let's install
a really big exhaust fan right over your vanity where you're getting ready. Is that seriously the
solve? Absolutely, yeah. A fan. Okay, but listen, it's a joke, but also, I understand. Nobody wants
the aerosol. I don't really want it either. It's a little bit here and there. But now let's switch
gears and talk about when you get a spray tan, a spray tan with the entire body. I don't get spray tans
anymore. Look at this hair. That is not a little bit. It's not a little squirt. But my
thing with her. And then he tries to get in the bed. You know what? Actually, I'm going to keep this segment in.
Lauren will be like, what about that hairspray? I will see you have a paint booth of technicians doing
makeup and spray tans. No, I don't spray it though. It's just on my skin. He's not wrong.
It covers your whole body. No, the spray tan I don't do anymore. He's not wrong about the makeup.
I have yet to switch my makeup to clean. I will get rid of my hair spray when all you ladies get rid of
the makeup. Compromise? No. Okay. Brian, isn't the hairspray more toxic because it's
in the air?
No, this is good.
Because a lot of times when I show up people's houses, the males are like, oh my gosh, this
guy, I don't want anything to do with this.
He's not like that.
He's open.
Show them, teach him, tell them all this stuff's bad.
And there's a compromise.
We set up systems to fix this stuff.
And so when you're actually spraying it, that's when it's toxic when you can breathe it
in when it's getting in the air.
Once it's set up and hardened, it's not really off-gassing at that point.
Okay.
So what is the solve that he just goes out to the deck?
I'm open to that.
Yeah, you apply it outside.
Can you do that?
Or you have a really big exhaust.
I honestly think that would cover 50% of our problem.
You swear to God.
Yeah.
Wait, do you swear?
Yeah, I'll do that.
Because I'm not, I'm going to say what I did today.
What did you do today?
I took his hairspray and took it in my car.
So I'll give it back to you if you make the deal that you'll go out to the deck.
I got secret stashes.
Don't worry.
No, you don't.
I went to all the secret stashes.
I got some tape behind the toilet.
I got some like taped under the thing.
No.
I got some of the safe.
I got it all of the place.
I got them all.
Six cans gone.
And you know what I did because I'm so sweet.
I put the non-toxic.
But joking aside here, okay, this is like her, what I try to tell Lauren is like all the time.
This is a conversation in our marriage.
You can play a little bit of a counselor now to help us.
You're going to save our marriage.
I think many people that have been on this show and Lauren, I would put in this group,
we can fixate on the quick hairspray.
We can fixate on the, for me, like the big, like in my life, the big,
impacts. Like, there's no more shoes in the house. The air filters have been clean. We got good
filtration. We opened the windows. We've got rid of the toxic cleaning supplies. We've switched
the materials to, you know, organic materials. Like, I think that drives the greatest impact.
What I don't want people to do is listen to this and be like, oh, there's the one hairspray. And if I
change that, it's like, no, the big things have much a much greater impact. At least that's how,
that's what I would like the takeaway to be. No, that's great. I mean, you nailed it. Yeah,
I really can't add to that. That's perfect. And maybe we can perhaps think about going out to
At this point, we're like now like knit, I mean, it's like someone like, you know, like if they start
eating 80% of the time, whole foods and great ingredients and then someone's like nagging them because
they picked up that cookie on Thanksgiving. It's like, come on like, who care, it's the big
changed and the big consistent impacts that are going to have the greatest effect.
What's the craziest shit that's off gassing in our house that we wouldn't know about?
I mean, besides the cleaning supplies, the fragrances, the chemicals, if you're in a new home,
that's really the biggest one. So when you move into a brand new home, it's the
cabinets, it's the wood flooring, it's the paint that you're using. Those things are really
creating a toxic soup for a couple years. So it's actually the newer homes you have to worry about.
Brand new homes is what we need to worry about for chemical off-gassing, yeah. And older homes for mold
or not necessarily the older homes, then the mold load starts to build up, the bacterial load
starts to build up, the dirt, the microplastics, all the things in the dust that are nasty,
that starts building up. What about duct work, like in cleaning of the duct? We had a guy that came
It's a super nice guy and it was very cost effective, was not overly expensive.
That came and it was like, hey, let me get in your vents and get all that stuff out of there.
I think he told us to do that.
Yeah.
And I thought that was really interesting.
And it was, it was very, like I said, it was affordable.
Right.
Because we clean all the surfaces that we can see regularly, but the ducting we can't see.
And that's a big surface in there that we don't really have access to.
And that's the lungs of our home.
So that's really critical to make sure it's kept clean.
Think about mice can crawl up in there and die, spiders, all kinds of microploid.
all kinds of stuff can get up in there and then we don't clean that out very often.
So if a cockroach gets up in there and then it's blowing air, the cockroach's guts are spraying
through the house?
Correct.
Yes.
Nasty.
We don't want that.
When's the last time you got those ducks gleaks?
We just got them done.
You got them done.
You swear?
And you set us up at the time.
We get them consistently.
And also you had us do the blue, was it blue light?
Yes.
In the air filters.
Is that correct?
So UV light on the coil.
Right.
place where mold spores and bacteria can grow. So we shoot ultraviolet light on there and it sterilizes
it. I didn't know we did that. Yeah, Ryan. Look at you. I do want to call my husband out. I know I'm
shitting on him for the airspray. But why I'm really proud of my husband and it's really exciting for me to be
in a relationship is he is constantly evolving. And when I first got together with him,
myself included, we didn't know about any of this. And he's been able to evolve with me. And I
actually think sometimes he knows more than I do, which is pretty cool. So he is, it is.
Carson, pull this clip. No, he is easy to manipulate. But like, seriously, he's really open.
And it's funny because even like, now you're like preaching to your mom. No, but here's the,
when I speak to someone like you who's so knowledgeable in your space and you know what you're doing and you explain the these things,
I'm like, okay, that the vents make sense. The UV makes sense. Opening the windows.
getting rid of, like, all this is very, and, you know, if it, if it doesn't, you got to go with God.
I don't know. Some people are going to be resistant. I can't help you. Like, like, you know,
making a simple switch to something like branch basics and getting rid of harmful chemical cleaning
supplies, like to me, it's like no-brainer. Where I give some pushback is, is certain things that
I think people enjoy life. If you want to get your nails done, get them done. If you want to, like,
spray a hairspray, you want to have a cookie. You want to have that. If you're doing the other
things, right? You want to go out and have a few drinks at night, fine. Like, a lot of these people
come on like, never have alcohol.
I'm like, you know, the point is, is like, I think we, we get caught up in the clickbait,
you know, short form and part of some of these show, our show included gets put in, this happens
with our show sometimes.
But I, the message I think is like, it's the big things that drive the biggest, not the
little things.
Like, you know, you got to, what, that's what resonates with me.
I want to tell the story because it's so powerful about the little girl whose symptoms were
resolved.
And I know you told it on the other episode, but I think it's an important story.
to tell. Can you tell our audience that? Yeah, this is a very healthy family. In fact, she's
health and wellness influencer and moved into a new home and started getting these symptoms.
They were starting to get sick. The whole family and they had some issues. But the daughter
in particular, 12 years old, she was waking up with night tear. She was starting to wet the bed,
waking up, not rested, and it was affecting her daytime activities. And they were actually
getting her into do some neurological testing, trying to figure out what was going on. But when
we did our analysis of the home, we found out that her bed was placed right on the opposite
side of where the fridge was. So the kitchen was right here and the bed was right on the other side.
And so when the motor kicked on that powers the fridge, it sent this electromagnetic wave,
a magnetic field, like six to eight feet into the room right where her head was sleeping. And so
when that kicked on, that sent a jolt through her body and woke her up and was causing all
kinds of neurological issues. So we moved the bed to the other side of the room. Symptoms went away
that night. I got an email from like two years later, like, oh my gosh, you saved my kid's life.
I can't, these symptoms have never came back. And she was just blown away.
that EMF affected that much. You know, people don't realize like, oh, it's a conspiracy,
it's tinfoil hat. No, this is very real. We're, our brain works off these electrical impulses.
And when we send these high level frequencies through the brain that are abnormal, it causes
problems. I really think that it's so important to be purposeful and thoughtful around your
phone. What are some practices that you do to keep the EMF from your phone? Like when you go to
bed at night, what do you do? Simple ones when I'm not using it, put it on airplane mode,
and try to delineate my time throughout the day. And so,
When I'm working and focusing, that's work time.
And I don't have my phone there to distract me, not just the EMFs, but the distraction of it.
When I'm spending time with my family or reading books to my kid at night, I don't need to have my phone on me.
You know, when it's family time, let's put the phone over there on the cabinet and let's not even have it around us.
And then at nighttime, when we're sleeping, we don't necessarily need to have.
Some people have parents or children away and you want to have availability, but it doesn't need to be by your nightstand.
Maybe put it across the room.
Do you think it should be in the other room?
If you don't need it, then, yeah, because it's a true addiction.
Whether we all like to admit it or not, we're addicted to our phones.
So any kind of addiction, if we can put it away from us out of sight, out of mind, is very powerful.
So like if you could have a charging dock and it was outside of the room, you think that's the best idea.
That's the best idea.
Yeah, but it's hard. People truly want that. It's a comfort thing. They need to buy them.
I think that for our new house, we should do, because we got rid of the TV in the bedroom.
I think we should put a charging dock in the other room.
We have one in our room. It's across away from our bed, but I still, I think there's something very relaxing for the
system to just have it in another room.
Quick break to talk about one of our favorite supplement brands, and that is symbiotica.
Lauren and I have been taking symbiotica for years now.
We take so many of their products.
It's actually hard to do these reeds in such a short period of time
because I could go on and on about all the great supplements that we take from them.
What I love most about symbiotic products is most of their supplements are liposomal,
which means you're actually eating them.
A lot of them don't come in pill form.
This is going to help your body absorb them even more efficiently.
Some of the standout stars that I can't live without during this holiday season,
holiday season and in the winter is their vitamin C and collagen. That one is incredible. I want my
immune system up. I want my joints healthy. We also love their glutathione. I think it's the best glutathione
on the market. It also doesn't taste bad like many glutathions do. This is going to be glutathione and
PQQ. It's the master antioxidant of the body. Very important as you're putting your body through the
holiday stress. And their magnesium L3 and age. You can take this in the morning. Sometimes I put it in my
coffee or matcha if I need a little bit of a brain boost in the morning. And you can also have it
at night in a tea or whatever you're winding down with to help you sleep better.
They also have an incredible vitamin D3K2 supplement.
This is a critical foundational supplement that comes, again, in liposomal form.
We give this to ourselves.
We give it to our children.
And they have one of the most complex B formulas, which is going to help with your energy
and metabolism, so many things.
And again, in a liposomal format.
In addition to that, there's many standout stars.
What I love is you can go to Symbiotica's website and you can look at the wide range of
different products.
They have a charcoal.
They have a magnesium spray.
have a sea moss, so many different things, and you can go and figure out what's tailored and
right for you and know you can trust the quality of each of their products.
Taking Symbiotica supplements is one of the easiest ways I found to stay consistent with
my health goals.

Do you guys hear that? That's fresh, new skinny, confidential drop. Okay, this has been something
that I have been working on for the last year. Introducing face towels. Your skincare routine
has been reimagined once again. There is no more using butthole towels on your face. There is
no more using the towel that your boyfriend is used on his balls. You are going to be using
the cleanest face towel on your face with no formaldehyde, no
inks, no fragrances, no dyes, no BPA. Okay? Our towels are so thoughtfully designed. They're
vegan, they're cruelty-free because your skin deserves the best. I, a long time ago,
wrote a blog post about how a lot of people are washing their face and then they're drying
their face with the same towels that they're using on their body. Or they're using a towel that
maybe has a bunch of, I don't know, detergent in it. So I wanted to create something that was
fresh to remove your makeup, to remove your oil without irritation.
I wanted it to be buttery soft. I wanted it to be 100% sustainable bamboo, silky soft. You never have to worry about build up with these towels. It's just like a breath of fresh air for your face. So how I use them is two ways. The first way is I will cleanse my skin with an oil cleanser and then I'll exfoliate it. And I'll do this in the shower or in my sink. And then if I get out of the shower or I'm done with my sink, I'll take my towel and I'll pat it across my face and my neck to
dry my skin off. My skin feels so much cleaner doing it with a facial towel than using some
random towel that who knows where it's been. So if you want to support a healthy skin barrier and
you want something really sensitive, especially if you have acne or you have hyperpigmentation,
this has a really gentle texture. It's absolutely beautiful. I'm such a fan. I've been using them
for a long time. I know you guys have maybe seen them in my Instagram stories. Each box includes
50 disposable face towels and like I said they're made from 100% sustainable bamboo. This is the
travel size. It's like a little box that you can throw in your makeup bag and then we also have the
one that can sit on your vanity. It's a box that you want out. It's so cute. It's baby pink. And I should
tell you the towels are shaped like a doily. So that's fun too. Go to shop skinny confidential.com to
grab your face towels today. I used to get paranoid because I would be like, oh, what if my parents
or something there's an emergency, they need to get a hold of me.
So I just put emergency bypass so that they can get through, but put it somewhere else.
So I want to put on your permit, but I worry about that.
I think a lot of parents that have kids, like they're stressed.
They obviously want their phone.
You can put emergency bypass.
Yeah, but a lot of parents are like, that's not realistic.
My kids are out.
Maybe they're teenagers.
They want to, you know, they need to be able to hear.
But going back to one of the things you talked about at that refrigerator story,
since meeting you, one of the other things I do, if we're looking at a new property
or looking at, you know, configuring the house.
and you could do this if you're renting or getting an apartment or house.
I always look at the layout, like ahead of time.
We get like, you know, like the floor plan.
And I see like, okay, where's the laundry room compared to where the children's room is?
Where's the kitchen compared to where?
And I try as best I can.
And this is not always easy.
But you can do this if you're looking at space or thinking about moving just to see that
proximity.
Because to your point, like if you can get some proximity between, you know, that electrical
item in where the kids are sleeping where you're sleeping? Like, why not? What about telephone wires?
Around the house? What's that? What about telephone wires? So that's good if your home is hardwired
for telephone and you can do old school telephones and that's another way to work around where you don't
have the EMF, but people that are close to you know that number and they can call you and get a hold of you on
that. So the telephone wires are okay, the pillars outside the house? Not cell phone towers, is it? Like the
power lines outside of the house. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So if they're close to you, so the high voltage power
lines like the big ones cross-cun you want to stay at least a football field away from those 100 yards at
least but the more of the local ones you know 100 feet for the smaller neighborhood ones you want to stay
away from those what do you think about all of these fake lights like what for me in my own house
i prefer i i honestly prefer no fake lights i'd rather just wake up with the sun and have the have the
sunlight the room and then i like red light right what do you like when you're around all these lights
Is it a lot for you?
Yeah, people, and I feel it, and a lot of people are very sensitive,
and it's more to the flicker, but also to the excessive blue light that's in it.
It's not natural.
So if you look at a light scope meter and hold it out to the sun, it's a nice, even,
this color spectrum where we're getting all the frequencies.
And ancestrally, that's how our bodies evolved.
So we had the sun in the daytime, and then at night we had candles and lanterns and fires,
and that's what our eyes are used to.
And so now with this world, we have all this artificial light, and it's flickering.
It has a flicker rate to it, and it does that to save.
energy, but that flicker rate, our body can sense that and it causes a big stress on the brain,
but also the color spectrums are wrong. And so that throws our body off. I get headaches from sitting
under these. That's what I really want to do, work with you on our new house. We're trying to create
one of the healthiest houses we can. I want to talk to you about what light bulbs that we should
get. And when you said, you mentioned that it's supposed to be in a certain spectrum. What is that?
Incondescent? No. Well, incandescent can, but you want the no flicker and there's film grade ones that don't
flicker that have the right spectrum.
Block blue light is a really good company that we recommend that they have good bulbs for it.
But really it's about following what nature is doing at the time.
So if the sun has already gone down, you don't want bright overhead lights.
You want the natural amber color, even the red color right before bed because that's what's
triggering our body to suppress melatonin and getting us ready for bed.
Hot plastic, Ziploc bags, to go containers, postmates, hot chicken sitting under
a plastic container. What do you do? Yeah, so this is the microplastic discussion. The studies show
that we're consuming up to a credit card's worth of plastic every month or maybe every week. I don't know,
camera. It's a lot. It's more than you want to think about. But it's coming from all of the plastic
sources that are touching our food. So that really is a big one right off the bat. You want to go through
your kitchen and get rid of all the plastic, the cutting boards, the storage containers,
the Ziplocs. When food comes to your house and it's stored in plastic, if you can switch it out,
put it in glass containers, that's better. But really it comes down to the food that's
physically touching especially when it's hot. You never want to reheat anything in the microwave
that's touching plastic. You shouldn't be using a microwave anyways, but if you are, definitely don't be
put in my microwave in your house. So we didn't for a long time. And the new house we bought
has a microwave that's built into it. And so we've wanted to the whole time take it out, but we
really haven't figured out what are we going to replace the spot with. And I'm not going to lie,
there's times when we're in a hurry when we use it. You know, we shouldn't, we're not perfect
with that. But again, like once, you know, if you're microwaving your dinner every single night,
It's like, hey, maybe that's not going to be the best.
Like, once in a while.
You don't have to microwave your dinner with me as a chef?
No, you're just eating microplastics from those things.
I just starve to death because I'm not getting any home-cooked meal.
I'm just dying, withering away.
I have rapid fire questions.
But before you go, if you could give the audience one thing to change in their home tomorrow,
just one thing.
Where would they start?
I mean, you know, one thing I've been talking more about is the mind and the body and the interaction
and toxic people in the home.
And that's one thing that we don't really think about as the environment.
But when you have toxicity in the home as far as people goes, that can create a bad vibe.
And we all know you go into a party or a room and there's someone in a bad mood.
There's jerk.
There's someone.
You can feel that energy.
So that's where it comes back to really looking at the mind and how what things like showing gratitude is a big one.
Showing forgiveness is a big one, not holding on to the shame and the guilt.
Those things truly do put off onto other people.
And so if someone in the house that you're living with has those things going on, that needs to be addressed.
Most toxic room in the house.
It's definitely the bathroom for most people because of all the hairspray and the nails and all the stuff that we do, personal care products.
You know what I would like to do.
You also said flush the toilet with the seat down.
Yeah.
Everyone knows that.
Do you not do that?
No, no, I do that because you don't.
Okay.
We got to flush the toilet.
A lot of people just let it fly.
And the bathroom is where you have, you go to the bathroom in there and we're cleaning.
And that's where a lot of water is, so it's more prone for mold.
So bathroom is definitely the most of the stuff.
Why can't we do the room and then the bathroom far away from the room?
I don't get the toilet in the bedroom.
Is that a, like, can we petition that?
I don't understand the toilet.
I can build an outhouse for you like they do in the old days.
Literally.
You can get up and hold a candle and walk your ass outside of the house.
I would love that.
Everyone go outside to the outhouse.
I'll get you one of those old sleeping hats and a candle.
Put a well next to it for fresh water.
An outhouse and a house.
Well, what's better?
Yeah, that's perfect.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, like, I could potentially, now that you're talking, like, we could build an outhouse,
you could sleep, you know, we get the toxic person out of the house.
I don't want to sleep next to the outhouse.
Right.
If the bathroom, is that where you would start with most people's like, check for mold,
see what's going on in your bathroom, check your cabinets in the bathroom.
Like, that's the place that's going to originate most of the.
It is.
That's where we see most of the problems because that's where most of the problems happen
because of the water and the chemicals.
that's why most bathrooms have a ventilation fan.
It's there for a reason because it is the most toxic room.
So a lot of people will just leave that fan on all the time just to exhaust out.
If you don't have an ERV or fresh air ventilation system, that's one thing you can do is leave that fan on.
But I would say the most impactful room is the bedroom.
That's the most important room to have dialed in because we spend a third of our lives there.
That's like the one true sacred place.
Where we sleep at night is the most sacred place that we have.
That's where we feel the most safe.
That's where bodies are healing and resting.
That's where we're connecting with our partner, love, sex, intimacy, and healing.
That's the most important things that we have, and that's where we need to really focus our time.
I totally agree with you on that.
I think that's such a good tip.
Item that you avoid like the plague.
Honestly, probably just chemicals.
Chemicals really cause a big problem.
And mold.
And mold's a big one.
Mold and chemicals, those two things.
The last question, the most shocking statistic that would surprise the audience.
70% of homes have mold in them, have a mold problem.
70%- That you go into a lot.
Mm-hmm.
And now, of course, it's a sliding scale, it's a spectrum.
Some are extremely bad where the occupants are getting sick right away.
But a lot of times it's just a low-level thing where they just don't feel the best.
They feel a little brain fog.
They feel a little irritability.
They don't have the energy that they used to.
So it's this low-level, long-term exposure that's affecting their quality of life.
They don't realize it.
Ryan, if someone cannot do your whole program and they want to get a mold,
mold test at home, which mold test you recommend off Amazon?
So we have one.
So a lot of them on Amazon, well, this is the thing is that there's all these different ways to test for mold and they all show a little piece of the puzzle.
Like the air test will tell you what's going on in the air right now.
The dust test or the Irmi will tell you what's been in the air that's now in the dust.
A visual is going to tell us what do we actually see?
What do we smell?
But to get a full picture of the mold, you kind of got to do all the pieces.
But really, we have one on our website that we take the swab of the air.
filter. So it tells us what's been in the air that's caught in your air filter. And we send
that to the lab and analyze it. And we see what's floating around. And that's right on our website.
You showed me what everyone can get for free. Ryan, Test My Home, has given everyone a free
test my home environmental risk screening. It's valued at $1,250. Right. So this is what we do
for our high ticket clients. When we go do the full analysis of their house, we always start with the
risk analysis. So we have them jump online and answer a bunch of questions and it just talks about
how do you use your home? How do you interact with your home? The history of your home. What chemicals do you have? Do you have water filters? Are you opening there? You're taking the shoes off. So based off of this analysis, so based off of this house. So based off of this home. And so that's something we want to offer for free for you guys' listeners. You also have a pretty good idea of what we're going to fix, just simply based off of this analysis. Because we've looked at all the data. And it also ties in with the health of the home. And so that's something we want to offer for free for you guys listeners. You also have the free healthy home starter guide on that. Yeah. So,
So that's like the top 20 biggest tips that you can do that are free that you can implement
right away that have the biggest bang for the buck.
So you are giving a lot of free stuff away.
Everyone go to TestMyhome.com slash Skinny to make your home the healthiest it can be.
You guys have never offered this to anyone else.
This is new but comprehensive and I think this is such a great way to get the home clean.
So that's TestMyhome.com slash Skinny.
I will be documenting my own journey with Ryan.
sure there's things that I'm going to need to change in our new home. And I'm so grateful to
know you. I think what you're doing is so incredible. And it's important and it's educational.
And it's there's no there's it's taking people who maybe are ignorant about the home and not
knowing any of these stuff and giving them knowledge and knowledge is power. Yeah. And as Lauren would
label me the skeptic in the room, even I'm not that skeptical. I think since working with you on our
first home and learning all about this and now doing, you know, this show and the previous one,
like we've completely changed our.
environment. And I talk about it on the podcast all the time, like from the air purifiers to the
ducts, to the Wi-Fi, to the cleaning supplies, to how we sleep. And as you were talking about
the bedroom being the most sacred space, like our sleep scores are through the roof and we sleep very
well. And that's obviously had a big impact on our health because we've cleaned up our environment.
And we first got to Texas, that wasn't the case. When we lived in L.A., like God knows what was going
on in that place. Yeah, this has been a journey. I want everyone to know this. This is not like we woke up,
Like, this has been constant refinement and editing and something I'm really passionate about for my kids.
You know what's crazy when I think about the place we lived in LA now? It's like there was literally a toilet on a door neck, like right next to our bedroom. The washing and dryer machine was right on it by our bedroom.
It was a TV. I could touch the TV like to you like with my hand. I leaned over. It was huge one. There was stuff. We had a person below us. I think it was a meth addict.
We also used to sleep with our cell phones right next to our ears charging. It's so you just don't know.
The point is is we didn't know. We weren't educated. We didn't have the conversation.
And what I want everyone to know is, of course, we've had the pleasure and the benefit of working
with you. But like a lot of these things we're talking about, you could start doing free,
cost effectively, no, you know, no cost. And especially with the stuff you're offering, then it's worth it.
And also Jasper, J-A-S-P-R.com slash skinny, I think he gives you $400 off.

The air pierfire.
And we love Mike.
Who's become a friend.

And then also Branch basics, skinny 15 for 15% off these.

This is a really big lever that people can pull for their overall health and wellness.
And it's not just like, hey, I'm sick.
What's going on is how do I optimize my life?
How do I feel better?
How do I live longer?
How do I have more energy?
How do I have clearer thoughts and think better?
Like all of these things you can improve.
by controlling the environment around you and looking at the environment and realizing that
that does affect our body big time. The things are around, the people in the room, the view that we
have, the chemicals that we're breathing in, the lighting, all of these things really matter. And you
can create a horrible environment and wreck your life or you can have an amazing environment,
truly like a temple. And this is biblical stuff too. I mean, this isn't brand new things that
we're just coming across. This has always been taught and always been shown that having the
correct environment around you can really optimize your life.
Yeah, and even when you say a third of our life is spent in our bedroom, you hear that,
but every time you hear it again, you're like, it makes you think.
You're like, oh, shit, because you're asleep, you're not aware a lot of the time, but it's very true.
Yeah, so important.
Thank you.
Thank you, Ryan.
