Starting point is 00:00:13 All right, all right, all right. Right, all right. Welcome to the Skinny Confidential, him and Her podcast. We are here. This is our first one. We're so excited. I'm Lauren. I'm the creator of the Skinny Confidential.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Some of you guys know me from my blog. And we've also got my fiancé, Michael here and Jordan. I will let Michael go ahead and introduce himself before we get started. I'm Michael, Lauren's fiancé, the creative behind the Skinny Confidential. I'm just kidding. I'm not. But yeah, I'm Lauren's fiance. I've been involved with this brand and business since The Get.
Starting point is 00:00:50 And recent Snapchat phenomenon, I would say. Wow, that's an entrance. Yeah, it's an entrance. We got my sister Jordan here. I'm over here. She's off camera. You know, we didn't have enough room to get her in the shot. We needed to keep the focus.
Starting point is 00:01:06 We're the focus on the need to be. He's so rude. I've never seen red. I feel like Adele. I'm over here. I'm like, hello. For those of you that are listening and not. watching. We only have one camera set up and it's focused primarily on me. No, he wanted himself
Starting point is 00:01:20 like in the main picture. You know what? I'm the one winning here because I get to wear my pajamas and become comfortable. If you see me awkwardly looking off to the side or I guess if you're listening, you can't see me, but if you see me, I'm looking at Jordan. Yeah, if we're looking to the side, it's at Jordan. So just like imagine Jordan how you guys want to imagine her and maybe one day she'll make it on screen. I'm really sweet and pretty and nice. Okay, but Michael, tell the view who is who you are, like, give like a little background, like a little synopsis on you. You just want to know. Like, tell us, like, what's your job?
Starting point is 00:01:50 Like, what's, like, your Snapchat username, like the most... Besides getting boss around by you. No, I have a, you know, I'm a career entrepreneur. I'd say I have a business called Jetbed that I run with my dad. We started it as a side business after I got my ass kicked in a few real estate deals. And it's now the leading provider of beds for corporate and private aircraft. Oprah has one. Well, I don't think we're supposed to say that.
Starting point is 00:02:14 Why? She does. Yeah, okay. And then, yeah, I help along with her business. I have a marketing company that runs traffic on Google and Facebook for businesses and brands and products. And, yeah, I mean. And then I'll have Jordan, I guess, introduce herself so she can kind of just tell us. She has described what you look like to people.
Starting point is 00:02:36 I'm five-dry, brown hair, brown eyes, long, straight hair. I'm drinking some whiskey right now. I help Lauren and Michael out with their businesses. I'm kind of behind the scenes. I call myself Wrangler in chief. Yeah, she does wrangle us. I do wrangle. When I'm trying to schedule Lauren for whatever things she's smoking.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Trying. And I'm having a meltdown. Jordan comes in and helps me calm down. Jordan's good. Jordan keeps me organized. She's a big part of the skinny confidential. Her and Michael definitely help the behind the scenes functions. And she's kind of going to mediate the podcast, so that'll be fun.
Starting point is 00:03:16 She's going to make sure we don't get into a cat fight. We're having some champagne. Michael's drinking scotch, but we decided to go through it. We needed to calm the nerves. This is the second time we've done this podcast. We did it the first time, and Lauren came in very, very professional. I was a little bit more laid back. She came in like Barbara Walters on steroids.
Starting point is 00:03:36 She was sitting at the desk like this. Okay, wait. In my sense, I like didn't understand. what a podcast was. Like I, I, like, hello and welcome to our radio show. No, I thought it was like a YouTube tutorial. So like, I was like dressed up, like, it threw the whole vibe off. They asked me if I wanted to drink. I was like absolutely not. Like, this is like serious. I was like, at one point she said stop, cut this. We can edit this part out. Yeah, I thought we could like edit. I thought she was, I thought she was joking. And so I kind of looked at her strange. I was like, hello and welcome to the
Starting point is 00:04:05 Skinny Confidential. We have, we, in the background here, you can't see him. We have Taylor, Taylor works for me for a long time. He's kind of our... Taylor's like literally chugging a beer as fast as he can. He's chugging a beer. Oh, he just spilled a little bit on his lips. Do not fill on my white couch. Are you using a coaster?
Starting point is 00:04:23 He says that. Anyways, so he's going to be kind of our engineer on the show, kind of like, I don't know. When do you call it? He's literally the engineer. He's like making sure this is happening. He's certainly not the editor. We don't have an editor.
Starting point is 00:04:36 There's not editing. Camera, everything going on back there. Yeah, Taylor is. Technical. He really won't let go that we should have called this show The Good, the Bad, and the Skinny. He's like literally, he talks out every day. He watched one to me to Clint Eastwood shows.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Yeah, I feel like that. I don't know who, if I'm the good or the bad or, I'm not the skinny. He's like, let's make that the hashtag. It's like uses 140 characters just the hashtag. So anyways. So we got Taylor, we got Jordan, we got Michael, and I guess for those of you are wondering why podcast. Like, podcasting is like such a,
Starting point is 00:05:11 different kind of thing. I feel like not a lot of people our age are doing it. It's becoming more and more popular. And I feel like the reason that we decided to podcast is because Snapchat was so interesting for us and so engaging
Starting point is 00:05:25 and so stimulating that like a podcast is like the next natural sort of step. Yeah, I liked it because ever since I took over a Snapchat game, I'm getting a lot of questions and I'm always in a scramble trying to answer it in 15 seconds. You're so popular. Yeah, yeah. I'm getting up there.
Starting point is 00:05:41 I'm like the next DJ Callet. I don't even know what that means. Well, you've got to step up your snap game. So I just thought that this would be a good outlet because we can actually talk, which we both like to do. We love to talk, honey. I feel like people are like, how do you guys like have a conversation? We don't. I just talk for a while and you talk and then we just leave and nobody knows what each other said.
Starting point is 00:06:00 No, I leave you bullets. The other day I sent you a text that had bullets in it of what to do and you hit every single bullet. And I was so proud and I was like, oh my God, I'm going to do this every single day. And I left you a green smoothie as a reward. So I feel like it, like, worked really well. All you need to do is leave me a smoothie, and I will nail some cast. Jordan's giving it weird face. I'm like green smoothie.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I mean, I know that's good for you and all that, but maybe like a brownie or... So anyways, why we podcast. So we podcast because of Snapchat. I mean, Jordan, what do you think? Like, what do you think, like, was that, like, the next natural step for us? Like, why do you think podcasts? There was actually somebody that just messaged me today. I got the Anchor app recently.
Starting point is 00:06:43 I don't know if any of you are on Anchor. I tried to mess around with. I tried to make a little radio show of my own. But there it's only two minutes, and this girl messaged me on Snapchat and said, what the hell are you doing? I joined Anchor to listen to you and you got off Anchor. And so she said, you better be working on a podcast.
Starting point is 00:06:56 And I said, look, I kind of am working on a podcast. Yeah, I mean, I think a podcast is the most natural step. You guys are hilarious on Snapchat. And I think we've kind of been living in this, like, parallel universe watching you guys separately. So I think bringing it together, and having like one story and one message where you guys can communicate with people
Starting point is 00:07:12 is going to be a quite interesting experiment. So we're going to see how it goes. And we're not going to edit. Like we're literally not going to edit. Like what you see is what you get. Oh, now we're not going to edit. No, take three. Take three.
Starting point is 00:07:24 No, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. No, you aren't. Take time. We're not going to edit. I'm not going to act like I'm Diane Sawyer on the evening news like reporting live.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Like it's not like professional. It's going to be super laid back. We're going to be drinking. Grab a drink if you're listening. and so if you guys want to ask us questions, we created a hashtag, and it took us like 45 minutes to decide because there's 500 opinions
Starting point is 00:07:51 and Taylor wants to do the good, the bad, the skinny, the ugly, the pretty. Like, as a hashtag, you can't do that. It doesn't even fit. But anyways, we finally decided on a hashtag. It's super fucking simple, and it's ask him and her. So hashtag ask him and her on Twitter.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Where do they send us? Can they Twitter? They can do Twitter. They can do Twitter. Snap, you can't. do a hashtag. I feel like you guys could ask this question. You can just ask questions on Snapchat. And you can maybe just comment on Instagram once a while.
Starting point is 00:08:16 I don't think you can comment on Instagram and like use the hashtag in the comment section. Maybe we'll, maybe if this takes off, which I hope it will, what do you mean? It's already taking off. We probably have two listeners. Pixie and Boone. We'll get a, we'll get like an email going huh Jordan? Yeah, we'll figure something out but for
Starting point is 00:08:31 now, yeah, hashtag ask him and her spelled out using A-N-D, not the Ann sign. Oh, good call because I always use the and sign. It's actually spelled out. So it's A. How do you spell it?
Starting point is 00:08:42 I'm kind of buzzed, I feel like. Ask him and her. You're spelled out because the ampersand doesn't. Yeah. Yeah. So spell it out. Yeah, no ampresent. And.
Starting point is 00:08:52 And D. Okay. So this is our first podcast. It's really important that you guys subscribe, that you go on iTunes, download this podcast, subscribe, subscribe, subscribe, subscribe, tell your friends, tell your family, tweet it out, share it. Give me a huge five-star rating. I mean, it's not just you, but that's cute that you just talk about yourself.
Starting point is 00:09:13 There's four people here. So subscribe to our podcast and hashtag any questions you have because we will be answering them live. You are not going to want to miss it, guys. You are not going to want to stay tuned every single week. Is it going to be every week? Is it going to be every week? Is it going to be every week? It's going to be every week.
Starting point is 00:09:34 It's going to be every week. It's going to be every week. So it's going to subscribe. shut us up. We could go. Well, I feel like we could go over day. Okay, wait. So I feel like now that you guys know, hashtag ask him and her, you know what's kind of going on here. I think everyone needs to know like your backstory.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Like, let's give like the backstory of this relationship because obviously you guys are working together and a lot of couples are incapable of working together. So like let's start talking about that. Okay, well, I'll like generalize the story and then Michael can like jump in with specifics. Okay, this will be good. Oh, tell how you met. Tell how you met.
Starting point is 00:10:03 This will be good. Everyone, okay. We met. in sixth grade, I was like six foot one. Did you shrink? No, I was 5'7, like the height I am, and I had like gone through puberty, so I had like these huge tits. And I was four two.
Starting point is 00:10:22 And Michael was literally like three one. Wait, and Michael also had the longest hair. His hair was longer than yours. No, his hair was so cute though. They was so into his hair. I had the old middle part flip, you know, the one from Dawson's Creek. It's so Dawson's Creek. I was like certainly Joey and you were Dawson.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Who's Joey? The star of Dawson's Creek came home. Okay, so anyways. So I was in sixth grade. I was like all bloomed puberty-wise. I was like, I feel like I looked like a 21-year-old when I was in sixth grade for some reason. Anyways, Michael was on the playground, 3-1 playing.
Starting point is 00:11:00 Well, let's back it up. You came in like middle semester from transfer or something. Transfer. I looked over, I was playing kickball about to drive one home, and I looked over and just saw these big cans coming at me. And I thought, I had a girlfriend at the time, and I was like, later, I'm going to get that. No, so, so we got together, sixth grade, he took me to Star Wars, the movie. I was asleep the whole time.
Starting point is 00:11:25 Yeah, he took me to Star Wars. I remember I was wearing, like, D.C. shoes. Like, remember those shoes that everyone loved? Anyway. Yep. So, we had, like, this, like, cute love affair. from like sixth grade to eighth grade. And we did everything together.
Starting point is 00:11:40 And everyone thought I was his babysitter. Like, no joke. Babe, everyone thought it was your babysitter. Like, people were like, oh my God. Not with those braces. They didn't. My braces were literally yellow. Did you have braces?
Starting point is 00:11:52 I don't remember that. Did I have braces? She opted for clear. I opted for it. Horrible choice when you're eating pizza every day. Like dreadful choice. Dreadful choice. It wasn't the best choice.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Okay. So, but you were. still obsessed, I feel like, like, you were obsessed. Anyways. Cairns or races, you know, you can't. So, okay, I'm going, I'm telling the story too long. Okay, so we were in seventh grade. We went to eighth grade.
Starting point is 00:12:19 I ended up going, like, for an older guy, because we're in eighth grade, you, like, you were, like, kind of doing your thing with, like, in eighth grade, like, during P. Yeah, my thing was called getting ignored by every girl and... No, you were still hot. So anyway, okay, so we broke up and then we went to high school, same high school, but we went, like, we dating other people, weren't together during college, and then we reconnected during college. We were like 21, I feel. I haven't been able to get rid of her since. Oh, please. He invited me to Las Vegas. I was 21. I was dating someone at the time. I was so over it.
Starting point is 00:13:00 And he just basically said, come to Vegas. It'll be fun. And I was like, what the hell? went to Vegas. We made out. I woke up the next morning with a tiara on my head and a bottle of champagne next to me and there you were. There I was. It's kind of been history ever since. So some people think that we've been dating since literally sixth grade, which is not the case. Nope. We've definitely had other experiences and haven't been dating that long. But we've been friends the whole time. Yeah. No, and then long story short, fast forward. I was working on some business stuff. She was, what were you doing? Bartending.
Starting point is 00:13:34 I was bartending. And she was. She changed Pierbar. Yeah, and she kept talking about this idea for this blog, and she wanted to do it, and I finally got so sick of listening about it that I said, just go do it. This was over oysters and champagne. Yeah, and then we were like really wooing me at this time. And now we're here. And now we're here.
Starting point is 00:13:48 He said, he said pull the trigger on the Skinny Confidential. I remember when you started the Skinny Confidential and everyone was like, Lauren, you're a freaking alien. Why are you bringing your camera everywhere, taking pictures of everything? And now it's just funny. Fast forward a few years later. Now I know when the dinner comes, I wait. takes the picture. Wait, I have to say,
Starting point is 00:14:07 no one got it at first though. Michael has never ever been like, what are you doing? Why are you taking pictures? He's been the only one that like got my idea and like got it from the beginning. And that was so refreshing. It's one of the reasons I've kept him around.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Yeah. I feel like a lot of people, they have this idea and they talk to their friend or their family and they get a little bit of discouragement. And so they just completely give up. And my whole thing throughout my life and every approach is, why not try it and take a chance and see what happens? I mean, look where we are now. She's got a worldwide brand and value.
Starting point is 00:14:44 It's awesome. All those taking pictures during all those dinners was the right move. Good job. That was the right move, but not at dinner because that lighting and the orange was really dreadful. And if you look back from the beginning of my blog, those pictures I like cringe when I look at. But I also think that you should tell the story, honey. this is where I was talking about specifics of when we were in sixth grade and we got in trouble when we were dating we got in big trouble oh oh the the old closet story the old closet
Starting point is 00:15:13 okay I'll take you down everybody should that be our hashtag the old closet store hashtag yeah hashtag hashtag the old closet story um so we were in about seventh grade I was going into seven going into seven. This was like Delmar Fair. Lauren, somehow I weaseled my way over to her house when her dad was out of the house. You were a weasel. And I was doing my very best to
Starting point is 00:15:38 get what I could get for to say. And I really didn't even know what I was trying to get. But you have to like, just like, yeah. So we get there and we're in the bed and we're fooling around. Like not like fooling around like having sex. We were like, you were like feeling that. But I got the top off. I got the top off. How did you do that? And all of a sudden I hear
Starting point is 00:15:56 the sound of Pixie. Pixie just kept on the table. This is my girl. Pixie's getting jealous that we're talking about. Pixies are chihuahua.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Okay. Road dog. She's our road dog. Taylor, you're not allowed to talk. Anyways, so we, hold on. I'm going to put her down. So we were
Starting point is 00:16:18 fooling around and all of a sudden I hear the dad come home. Brad, if you're watching this, hello. My dad loves you now, though. No, I want him over. So anyways, he comes home. I start freaking out.
Starting point is 00:16:32 I don't know what to do. Lauren says, hide, hide in the closet. And you got to picture this like a movie. The closet's one of those closets that has the little, what do you call those? The little blind. The sliding doors? My idea.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Oh, like the little. The little shudder. My ideas, though, like you know now, like hide in the closet. Like you would never do that. Like my ideas are always like the worst. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But let me get through this story. So you get the shutters.
Starting point is 00:16:56 And it's those things where you can kind of like creep the shutters open and see out the blinds. You know what I mean? And so I'm in there and I'm like, okay, I'll be fine here. There's no way the dad's going to come looking here. But then, Lauren being the genius that she was at the time, decides to jump in the closet with me. I thought it was like. So I'm thinking there. The only thing I could think in my brain was, all I could think was, I'm completely fucked.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Like there's like he's here. I'm, you know, I'm four foot two at the time. Her shirt's off. I feel like you were like three two. And so I look at dad age, like, dads are scary. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, my gosh. You were, like, so nervous.
Starting point is 00:17:31 So I look out the little, the blinds, and I'm like, oh, God, like, and I see her five or six-year-old sister, hi, Faye. Shout out to Faye. She's looking under the bed thinking it's some kind of game, like a hide-and-go-seat game. And my heart's racing. I'm sweating at this point. All of a sudden, the door is ripped open. Brad thinks it's a game, but Brad is Lauren's dad.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Hi, Brad. Hi, Brad. He's laughing. And then all of a sudden, he sees me. And it goes some. complete smile to complete rage. In his defense, your shirt was off, my shirt was off. You didn't get the bra.
Starting point is 00:18:04 What did you do, Lauren? My dad caught me with my shirt off. I would die. I would literally die. Don't worry about my word. That's a different story for another day because your dad has caught me with my shirt off. That's another story. It's not what she did, it's what I did.
Starting point is 00:18:19 And I basically just shit my pants. But not really, but almost. And the next thing I knew, I was in his call. I was being driven down the road, let off on the side of the road. He let you off the side of the road? I called my dad at the time. Well, he's still my dad,
Starting point is 00:18:33 but I called him in a big panic, dad. I'm completely fucked. I don't know what to do. I'm screwed. And I was waiting for some fatherly advice, and all I heard was a giant bellowing laugh on the other end of the line. And if you knew his dad,
Starting point is 00:18:43 his dad's bellowing laugh is like, like if you look in the dictionary a bellowing laugh, like that's his dad. He says, we're going to have to introduce Gareber one day. Oh, for sure. He says, you idiot. Why didn't you jump off the balcony? And that was it.
Starting point is 00:18:55 And that was it. It was like literally he hung up and like went back to like. I think we should probably like. His Kindle. Ended at that note. We got to probably say some things to end it though, right? Yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 00:19:04 I guess basically now you guys know who you're dealing with here on this podcast. Yeah. So that's us. I'm just a big purve, I guess. No, no. He's not a big purg. Not really, but. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:13 So, so before we wrap it up, um, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm really excited because Michael finally went to acupuncture and cupping. Can you show your back to the camera? I'll explain what it looks like. His back literally looks like a circular hand punched him seven times. Okay, 20 times.
Starting point is 00:19:32 So the darker spots on here are like the parts where like, that was not a long enough showing. They like, that was like, you know, like get naked. Like get naked. Okay, well, slow down. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's recap the closet. Anyways, I just want to end this podcast that I'm really, really proud of you
Starting point is 00:19:49 for going to acupuncture and doing cupping and working on your wellness because I know that's very hard for you. and we're going to do a whole episode all about cupping and acupuncture and basically how you manipulate your fiancé or husband or boyfriend into doing things that you want them to do like cupping and acupuncture. There's like a ton of stuff that's going on this podcast.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Jordan, you're good with that too. I know you. I love the acupuncture. All right, we're getting off trackers. So what do we want to tell all these people they want to send questions? Okay, send your questions to hashtag ask him and her. Twitter.
Starting point is 00:20:25 If you send it on Twitter, I will 100%. That's the easiest. But definitely if you want to send it on Instagram, just go on, like, Lauren's latest, Lauren or Michael's latest post. So my social handles, every single one of them is Michael Bostick. Bostick is B-O-S-S-T-I-C-K. And mine is at the Spineekonfinal on Instagram
Starting point is 00:20:42 and at Lauren Everett's, Lauren with the Y, on Snapchat. And this is Jordan talking. Oh, whoa. Whoa. Hi, hi, hi, hey. It's me. Hello. I'm going to be choosing the question.
Starting point is 00:20:56 So I want like juicy, awesome, like fun, interesting questions. Like none of this like boring. Like what's your favorite lipstick color? No, get, get on. This is our platform for Lauren and Michael to like really ask the questions that you've always wanted to ask. So send those in and I will pick my favorites because hopefully there's going to be so many that we're going to have to choose. But we get to know. We want to get funny.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Get dirty. Get funny. My chief engineer Taylor back there is texting me. That's time to go. Tickety-to-go. Okay. TikTok. Jordan would talk for six hours.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Wrap it up. Wrapping it up. Wrapping it up. All right, sending you questions, and we will see you next time. Bye, guys. Thanks for listening. Subscribe.
