Starting point is 00:00:01 Welcome to the Bostics, starring Lauren Bostic and Michael Bostick. Together, they are the Bostics. I am fresh off vacation, ready to work, back at work, back at the crazy routine of my life. And I thought I would hop on the mic and do an episode on the unsexy habits that make me feel sexy, that make me look sexy. things that are maybe not so glamorous or aesthetically pleasing, but things that I think make a big difference in the way I look. So like just an example of what I'm talking about, like micro-needling is one that it's a nightmare to get through, but once you're through it, you're looking so good. So I felt like doing a whole episode on this would be really fun. And I'm going to look at habits that have impacted my health, my beauty, my mindset, my longevity,
Starting point is 00:01:03 Things that are in my routine, especially when I'm at home, that make a really big difference overall. So since I just brought up microneedling and I'm fresh off vacation, I'll give you one that I do right after I have sun exposure. So I will immediately go to my Korean facialist in Austin, Jamie, and get microneedled. Speaking of microneedling and vacation, one thing that I always do is the second after. I've had sun exposure, okay? I do damage control. So I will book my micronealing appointment. I do exosomes with my Korean facialist Jamie. And I will microneadle my arms, my upper arms, my hands, my neck, my chest, my face. I even the other day did my hairline because it promotes hair growth. And I will really make sure that I'm dealing with any sun exposure that I just have.
Starting point is 00:02:03 and I think microneedling is the best way to do that. Jamie told me a fact that this is so crazy. If you do microneedling once a month for six months, okay, you have to stay consistent, same day, your collagen increases 600%. Is that not wild? That is crazy. So many people online are talking about lasers and Tretanoin and all these things. And I'm telling you, because I've tried it all, The best thing I think that anyone can do for their skin is microneedling. It does not have to be the vampire facial. You just need to get microneedled. And you have to find someone who really knows what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:02:43 And they have good exosomes. I like the salmon semen one. And I really commit to the aftercare. You've got to commit to the aftercare. So it's like sheet masks and a full little packet that she does to support the microneedling afterwards. And I stay out of the sun. and that is a game changer. It's not sexy. It's not the most fun thing in the world, but it is made
Starting point is 00:03:06 the biggest impact on my skin, especially after I'm in the sun. So I am going to commit, and I'll let you know, to once a month, starting September for six months and see what happens. And I think for me, I treat my chest and my neck like my face. And I've learned this as I've gotten older. It's like my neck and my chest are just as important to me as my face. So I'm doing my skincare routine on those areas. I even will bring the skincare down to my hands. Like I'll use skin better on my hands. Like I just want to make sure that I'm giving my hands, my chest, my neck the same love and care. I'll do a sheet mask on my neck. Okay. There's no shame in that game. But if you're looking to not have to spend money on like lasers and all these products, just get microneedled. Okay. That's something that's, again,
Starting point is 00:03:56 not sexy, but it's going to keep you feeling and looking sexy for a long time. Emily says, I need to talk about fiber. Fiber gets the poop going. Fiber is the best for cleaning out the gut. I could not find a fiber that I liked at all. It took me so long to find the right fiber. I felt like all of them were like oatmeal, thick, gooey. They didn't have the right consistency. And I wanted something that I could blend into anything seamlessly. And so I found a fiber. It's called loam. I think you can use Code Skinny. I do two packs, not one, every single morning with my electrolytes. So I'll do my beauty salt, my lemon. I'll add maybe some grape fruit in there. And then I'll put two packs of the fiber. And I will froth it up and drink it down. And let me tell you, when you are pooping, that makes things look
Starting point is 00:04:51 sexy. You want to make sure you're going poo. And again, it's not sexy, but it's like cleaning everything out and detoxing is so important. If you don't have a fiber that you like, check this one out. I have tried every single fiber on the planet. This one is a seamless situation. I do two of the little packs. Like I said, I think it's 20 grams of fiber. And it just makes everything so much better. I have a unicorn assistant that it was not sexy to train my unicorn assistant, but it's sexy to have her now. And she is on chat GPT and I have trained her to do everything I need. So what I'll do is I'll screenshot my calendar for the day. I'll implement it to my unicorn assistant.
Starting point is 00:05:39 And I'll tell her things that I want to accomplish and where I'm feeling overwhelmed. So like for instance today, I had 20 calls today. I had three podcasts. I have to record ads. I have to record content and I have to work out. But I will bring that over to chat GPT and I'll say, listen, I want to make sure I have present time with my children. I want to make sure I get a walk in. I would love to get a cold plunge in. Tell me what's strategic here. And it will spit out to me, this like strategic blueprint. And it's great because it helps my, I feel like it helps my ADHD brain sort of have like peace of mind. And it's not that sexy to set up a unicorn assistant. It's a lot of work and you really have to train the fake
Starting point is 00:06:31 assistant to do what you like. But it really helps you have clarity around your day. I also will use my unicorn assistant for random tasks. Like if I have to do an email, or if I want to be more strategic about parenting, I will use that Unicorn Assistant all the time. So I'll give you another example. I found five books today on raising healthy boys. And I took and screenshoted those five books, put it through chat, GBT, and I said, I don't want to read all five of these books. Can you put everything together for me as Lauren Bostic would want it?
Starting point is 00:07:07 And it literally organizes a bulletproof dissertation on everything that's applicable to me about raising boys. So I'll use it to sort of like blend books together. I think that AI is fantastic. If you're using it as a tool, we've all heard this. But I think there's really creative, strategic ways to use it. If you're someone that maybe isn't a big reader, you can go and you can find out any book that interests you very quickly. I like how my assistant knows me so well. So it'll just organize everything. So if you want to streamline your day and get your routine, feeling great. I feel like my routine is in harmony right now. So it doesn't work me into the ground. Like it'll say you need to take a lunch break or you need to take a walk. Like it'll tell me what to do by looking at my day. It's almost like a it's almost like a therapist meets strategist looking at my day and being like, this is a crazy day. You want to set yourself up. Take a break here. While you're doing calls, take a walk. Like it tells me little tips and tricks. And so that's been really helpful. And that was like I said unsexy to set it up, but now that it's set up, it's amazing and keeps things sexy.
Starting point is 00:08:20 So Emily says that I should talk about how I set up my space and how I'm strategic about that and the unsexy things I do within my space to keep it sexy. I look at every single experience in my life, in my environment with five senses. And this is something I've done naturally since I was a little girl. I think it's having two parents that were restaurateurs. Like the five senses is the most important thing in an environment. And every single place I go has the five senses within my control, except this studio, Carson, because the lights are way too bright, but we like that because it makes things look nice on camera. I would definitely, like if I could curate this environment, I would turn down the lights. I would add Bossa Nova. I would take away that
Starting point is 00:09:02 recording sign. It's way too bright. I would take away the clock that's in my face. I would I would probably paint it with a non-toxic paint. I would get a barefoot dreams blanket and I would make it energetically feel good. And I do that with my house and I do that with my office and I do that in any space I'm in. I think looking at the five senses. And so what are the five senses? To me, that's a clean, uncluttered space and fresh flowers, always. I like. beautiful fresh flowers. I'm really into renunculus flowers. I think they're so chic. I like garden roses, but I love flowers and I want them to be in my bathroom. I want them to be in the kitchen. I have them in my office. I just love fresh, blooming, beautiful flowers. And I like simple bouquets. I don't like anything too crazy. I like having natural light all the time. If it's nighttime, I'm doing red light. if it's daytime, I'm doing beautiful natural light. I remember when I lived in a studio apartment, you know, when I was in college. And I would rather take a smaller studio with beautiful,
Starting point is 00:10:20 gorgeous light than a one bedroom. It's natural light is one of the most important things to me. I think that it changes your mood. So that's really important. And then I stay off the news. I'm not consuming news. I'm listening to an uplifting audio book like Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, or I'm listening to a podcast that's maybe like funny or a book on tape or I'm listening to music. So there's usually music wherever I go. Everyone who knows me knows there's Bossa Nova music. So it's really hitting the five senses, which are sight, sound, smell, taste, touch. Okay? Taste could be what you eat or drink. Touch could be what you feel like sunlight on your skin. Textures. Smell could be an essential oil. I love doing eucalyptus oil. You know, hearing is like I said,
Starting point is 00:11:14 music and podcasts. And then the vision is what you see. So a candle, I love movement. This is so weird, but I love a fan. I love a ceiling fan. A ceiling fan gives movement to the room. I don't like a stagnant room. I like the move of a flicker on a candle. I like in my bedroom. I'm I like a fan. I just, I like movement. I think it's really, really sexy. So, so that is how I curate the environment. And I guess how that's unsexy is like you have to set it up like that. It's something that's intentional. But it really does turn the room into a sexy situation. I think some habits that make me feel sexy that are free and maybe not like the most sexy are waking up. The second I wake up, your go-to state is to
Starting point is 00:12:02 saber-tooth tiger. You, and you will notice this. It's crazy. It's human nature. When you open your eyes, your first thing naturally is like, oh my God, what do I have to do today? Oh my God, I forgot to do this. Oh, my God, I got this. Like, it's like almost like chaos when you wake up sometimes. And what I do is I've trained myself, because you do have to train yourself to shift my focus. So when I open my eyes, sometimes even when my eyes are closed, I'll think of, things that I'm grateful for. And that's, again, like, it's so simple, but it just makes a difference in how I wake up. So I will do that by touching one of my kids who's always sleeping next to me. My dog sleeps in our bed. Both my dog sleep in our bed. I will go over to the PEMF mat and I'll open the
Starting point is 00:12:51 shades and just think about all the things I have to be grateful for. And then also I'll reframe my day. So instead of saying, oh my God, like this morning, I had too much wine last night. way too much Brunello and I am tired and not motivated and I have three podcasts. I'll think I get to do three podcasts. I get the opportunity to podcast today with Dr. B and Sandy and do a solo episode and talk to you guys. And what an opportunity. Instead of, oh my God, fuck, I have to go to the gym like I'm hung over today. Today was a special day. I'll say I get the opportunity to work out with an incredible trainer. So I really try to reframe my day from the second I open my eyes. And what I've observed through doing this is your brain still wants to go to like what's wrong, right? When you open
Starting point is 00:13:44 your eyes. And so you really have to train your brain. And one thing that I've really done with the help of Louise Hay and why I'm so passionate about her work is I monitor my thoughts. And I think that makes a big difference. I've gotten into a lot of negative thought patterns before in the past. I've told you guys this about losing pregnancy weight and I'll tell myself like, I did tell myself all these negative thoughts. And now I fill my thoughts up with positive uplifting thoughts. And I really make such an effort to monitor the way I'm thinking. That has changed my life. It is a free, simple, not expensive, unsexy tip. I catch myself all the time when there is a negative thought. And it could be something like so little. You could look in the mirror at yourself and be like, oh my God, I have a hyperpigmentation
Starting point is 00:14:37 spot. Or it could be something bigger than that. Like, oh my God, I got to go out to lunch with this person that I don't want to see. Like, I reframe my thoughts on a day to day basis and I am so intentional about it. And I think what that looks like, you guys, is just flooding yourself with positivity. I am pretty cut throat about, you know, who comes into my space and my ether. I want to work with people who have good energy. I have a great team. And I want to be around friends that are, I mean, to put it blunt, I don't want to be around toxic energy. I just don't. I don't have the capacity. And I think, like, the more kids I have, the less capacity I have. And so I really am thoughtful about not putting the news on and not, I really don't even want to read the newspaper, to be honest. Like, I just want to be surrounded
Starting point is 00:15:32 by, you know, the teachers that I mentioned in the morning and I don't want to listen to gossip in the morning. I don't, like, to be really honest, I don't want to be around or listen or consume low vibration things. And this is one of the reasons that I don't go on TikTok. And listen, this is not me like thinking that I'm on my high horse. I have had my chapter where I was going on TikTok. I've had a chapter where maybe I was consuming too much content. And when I got pregnant with my third baby, I noticed that TikTok was like low vibration for me. It was not feeling uplifting. It was not feeling creative. It was not feeling inspiring. It was not feeling motivating. I would get off and I wouldn't like it. And I think when you pay attention to those cues and you have that antenna within your system and you eliminate that and you step back and you see, oh my God, I feel so much better without TikTok.
Starting point is 00:16:29 And my theory with TikTok is it wasn't even that I was being served negative content. It was that the content felt like it was coming too fast and too explosive at me that when I would get off the platform, I would not even know what I looked at. And so to me, I'm not going to waste 30 minutes when I could be reading a book or being present with my kids on things that I don't even remember. I mean, what's the, I just don't get the point of that. So getting off TikTok was a huge one. It was, again, not sexy to not be on TikTok. I mean, I guess it's more sexy to be on TikTok, but I just send my content to my team and they post it for me. so I don't have to even go on.
Starting point is 00:17:17 And I think it's great. And I think I try to do that in every area of my life. If there's someone that's like a Dementor, I call them Dementors, and they're sucking the room, you don't have to go to lunch with them. You don't have to have a drink with them. You don't have to have coffee with someone who wants to pick your brain that's draining for you. I think putting boundaries and parameters on, you know, things that don't let you up is great. Yes, you're going to have to do things that you don't want to do. That's part of life.
Starting point is 00:17:46 You know, I'm uncomfortable on a daily basis, and I think that's great. But also, like, I don't have to go on vacation for seven days with someone I don't like. And I'm, like, really kind of a bitch about it. I just don't want to be around long periods of time, someone that I don't enjoy. And that even goes to the show, too. You know, we've become, and Emily and Carson know this. We've become so cut throat about who's even coming. on the show. Like the person really has to add value to, you know, Michael and I's life and the audience is life. And it,
Starting point is 00:18:22 the audience to us is first. And Michael and I want to learn too. We don't want to be interviewing a bunch of low vibration people. So I think monitoring how things make you feel and, you know, whether that's a toxic boyfriend or a toxic friend or maybe it's just a friend that you've had for like, you know, a long time that it's, you're not in alignment. anymore. You have to listen to your instinct when it comes to that. This episode of the Bostics is brought to by Nuro, the makers of the world's smartest gum. I love this gum. I love this product. What makes this gum so great is it's powered by natural caffeine, L-theonine for calm focus, and vitamin B-12 and B-6. So if you're somebody that needs to
Starting point is 00:19:06 lock in, you're somebody that wants to get more done. The way that I like to take this is if I have a bunch of emails to get through, if I have to sit down and go through a bunch of financials, If I have to think about something that gives me a headache typically, and I have to have sustained energy and focus for long periods of time, this gum is incredible. Because when you're chewing other gum, you're just chewing with neuro, you're chewing for clean, sustained energy, sharper focus, and it just makes you feel good.
Starting point is 00:19:25 You're calmer, you're less on edge, and you can make it through the day with more clarity. So maybe even sitting in an office slugging through the work week, trying to get all done. You have a bunch on your plate, and it just feels like it's an endless task. Neurogum's going to help you dive into every big task with clean focus and energy. Also, for many people, including myself,
Starting point is 00:19:41 trying to cut back on coffee. great solution if you don't want to have those three to four cups during the day and you want to try something different for clean energy and focus. And like I said, this has a natural caffeine. For people who don't like caffeine, neural also offers caffeine-free options for all-day wellness support. And their caffeine-free gum is a memory and focus gum that's made with American ginseng to support mental clarity minus the jitters. So like I said, with most gum, you're getting absolutely no benefit. With this one, you get clean energy, you get focus, or you can do the caffeine-free one. One thing that I love when I work out is a set. I don't want to think about it. I want to put a cute matching set on and keep it moving. I love a set too that I can just throw a sweater over my shoulders and go. And that is where Viori comes in. They have you covered when it comes to the sets. Let me tell you. I love the Halo camy. It does something to the boobs.
Starting point is 00:20:48 It sells out all the time. It's always sold out. In fact, I'm on the site right now, and they only have an extra small and a small. I'm sure they'll have more sizes, but I love this cammy because it holds the girls in. And then what I like to do it with is their leggings. I want my leggings to be so, so flattering, okay?
Starting point is 00:21:09 And that's where Biori comes in. I really like their chilled out leggings. It's in the washed black. I get either a smaller medium. I go for both, depending on the day of the month. But this is like a stretchy knit. And it's really cozy. And I wear it to the gym all the time. And it ladders the waist. It's so nice. They also have like long sleeves if you're living in colder weather and you want to throw something on over your top. But the point is, is they have all beautiful sets. So you could throw in an all black set, throw a sweater over your shoulders and you're ready to go. Viori is an investment in your happiness. Starting point is 00:22:01 Their focus is on solving the biggest problem in supplements. Low absorption. This is going to blow your mind. Most supplements absorb at least 16%. meaning that over 84% of supplements for taking are completely wasted. That is wild. I actually had two of the founders on our show, and they were like saying the craziest facts about a lot of supplement brands,
Starting point is 00:22:25 but the absorption company uses cutting edge technologies to make supplements with pharmaceutical grade absorption. This is up to 149 times better than standard supplements. So there's this one that's really cool. I think you guys will like it. It's WLP1 and it's a daily weight management solution. So what it does is it supports weight management with ingredients clinically proven to increase natural GLP1 by 321% wild. Okay. So if you're looking for something that regulates appetite and cravings or if you're looking for something that reduces the absorption of fat and carbs, this one is worth looking into. They created this to help
Starting point is 00:23:09 with all of those things, especially metabolism and weight management. If you're looking for a good magnesium that absorbs eight times better than standard magnesium, check their magnesium out. You don't have to worry about absorption at all with this company. Start taking supplements your body can actually absorb. Go to absorbmore.com and intercode bostics at checkout for up to 35% off your first order. That's absorbmore.com and intercode bostics at checkout for 35% off your first order. Let me put you on to baby and toddler recipes that are tested for 500 plus contaminants, including heavy metals. This is such a fun brand. It's called Little Spoon. So they have the baby stage and that's like baby cereal and baby blends and everything is about the nutrients. They're very focused on nutrients,
Starting point is 00:24:00 which is great, but they're also focused on simple ingredients. And then they also have the toddler stage, okay? So these are more like biteables that are cut to size. They focus on palette expansion, which I'm very much into, as you know, if you've listened to this show and everything is real nutrition. If you're looking for something that's on the go, they have puffs. They're the perfect snacks for toddlers. They're organic, made with simple ingredients and easy for little hands to grasp. And then they've really thought of everything because they have the big kid stage. My favorite one, though, as a mom is the Beyond Smoothies. I give these to my kids when we're on the go. I think they're just like such a nice modern junk-free snack and they love them. So that's been tested by my kids and
Starting point is 00:24:47 they're obsessed. Feeding the kids doesn't have to be complicated. Little spoon makes it easy with real nutritionally balanced meals and snacks delivered for every stage. It shows up ready to go. Takes the pressure off and somehow still gets devoured. Veggies and all. No artificial dyes, flavors or sweeteners either. And you know what? That is a win I'll take every time. Get 30% off your first online order at L-Spoon.com slash skinny 30 with code skinny 30. That's L-I-T-T-L-E-S-P-O-O-N.com slash skinny 30 with code skinny 30 for 30% off your first order. I think what would surprise people about the daily routine is that it's unsexy and it's not so militant. It's very feminine energy and flow. Like, for instance, if I wake up and, you know, my daughter wants my full attention,
Starting point is 00:25:41 I'm not going to, you know, go cold plunge sauna. I'm going to listen to the day. If my kids are playing magnetiles and they're completely distracted, that's a great time for me to go jump in the cold plunge for three minutes. I really, like, intuitively listen and feel of what works. One thing that's non-negotiable is we do go for a family walk every single morning. And the reason I do that is not just to move my body, but it's to get my mind. kids eyes in the sun right away. And the baby likes it so much that he crawls to the door. Like, he wants to go out in the morning and wake himself up. So it's something that my kids look forward to. They know we're going to do it. I do it within 30 minutes of waking. It's a good bonding time.
Starting point is 00:26:22 They ride bikes or they walk or do their scooter. We move our body. We drink our water on the walk. We have electrolytes. And I just think it's really like a positive thing. So I'll do that walk every morning. based on what I have going on that day or the energy of my kids, I go off that. And I think, like, it's not like, I wake up at this time and I do it. Like, it's very, like, there's, there's a flow and a fluidity to it that, um, again, I'm intuitively listening to myself. And I think that that would surprise people that it's not so psycho. And so like one morning, like, I'll give you an example. The other morning, I, you know, did facial massage for 30 minutes. But then this morning, I didn't. I got in the cold plunge. And then like tomorrow, I would like to wake up and I have two workouts. So I'm not going to
Starting point is 00:27:16 I'm not going to probably go in the cold plunge before that. That's too much stress on the system. So I just think going with the flow and like, sometimes my kids want me to sit down and make them mommy waffles. And so that takes up, you know, 30 minutes. Sometimes they want eggs. It just like, I just feel like it just depends on the energy of the day. And I have like my go-to tools in my toolbox that I can pull out and I don't have to pull them out every day. I just sort of use them as needed. So some of those things are meditation. That's unsexy. Meditation is free. Anyone can do it. Close your eyes. Put your legs up on the wall. Sit in silence. And my friend, my friend Neil on vacation was saying, he's like, I can't meditate.
Starting point is 00:28:06 I just can't do it. And I said, Neil, imagine it's a strategy session about your business for 30 minutes. So like reframe the meditation to what you need. He loves his business. And he texts me and he's like, this is life changing. He sits in silence and instead of feeling like he can't have any thoughts and he wants to just meditate and it needs to be all Zen, he sits there and he silently has a strategy session about his business and it sets up his whole day. So I think the meditation can be curated and molded to what works for you.
Starting point is 00:28:42 It does not have to be like this one size fits all approach. Meditation is a free and sexy habit, taking a walk, sunlight, free and sexy habits. I think that those little tiny habits, they really add up. and they make you at the end of the day feel sexy. Emily just said that that's a really good point. She said that people are not seeing the mom's side of me online that much and in my feminine energy. They see a lot of masculine energy. And I think you even see like, you know, when I'm working, it's my first priority is my kids. And that's my favorite job in the world as being a mom. And I spend a lot of time with my kids. I mean, a lot. And when I'm off work,
Starting point is 00:29:28 the phones away as much as much as it can be and I'm, you know, present with them. And the reason that no one sees this online is because I am not going to have a camera in my kids face and my face filming content. It just, that's been a really thoughtful decision. If there's a picture that I ever post of my kids, which I haven't posted one lately, it's a phone picture that I'm sending to my family group thread. Does that make sense? It's not something where I'm like, okay, like pose for the video that's going to be on Instagram. It's like we're naturally doing what someone's seeing. So like I'm going to give an example.
Starting point is 00:30:08 If we're at the ceramic cafe, I'm not like creating content around the ceramic cafe. Like you might see their hand. It's because we're actually doing that and I'm sort of documenting. I'm not big on posting my kids all the time. I always say they're like extras in the show. And I don't, I don't feel. compelled to pull out my phone while I'm making waffles in the morning. I just think when I'm on
Starting point is 00:30:35 my deathbed, I would regret that. I know I know myself all enough. I would regret using quiet moments that are supposed to be peaceful with my kids as content online. And listen, there's a lot of mommy bloggers that are making a lot of money and they're incredible women and I have so much respect for them. but I'm also creating content all the time on the show and on my own Instagram and I'm, you know, working a lot. So when I, when I'm like off in quotes, I want to be off. And everyone's different. Like everyone's going to do what works for them. But when I'm at home, it is Susie homemaker in the kitchen. Like I would wear an apron if I was a good cook. But I love like being home and being soft. It's, one of my favorite things to do. And I think because we travel so much and because, you know, we work so hard when we work, and when we work, it's full commitment to work. That when I'm home, it's like, okay, I'm going to fully be present here. We love, you know, doing art, having free time, baking. My kids sleep with me. Like, like, it's, Michael and I are really
Starting point is 00:31:52 hands-on as parents. And I think that would surprise people. And of course I have help. I have to have help. I'm working just like a man works. Same, same hours. And so I do have people that help me. But when I am home, like I'll go home after this episode, it's phone away, you know, having conversation with them, reading them books every night, having conversation in the bed. Like, it's a lot of like very solid family time. It's very important to Michael and I. And Michael is, Very, very, very hands-on. Like, he wakes up with the baby every night, which is a dream. He will wake up with the kids in the morning. He will cook for them. Like, he's a very hands-on dad. And I think that would surprise people because he is so entrepreneurial.
Starting point is 00:32:45 And he always says, you know, that comes with sacrifices. He's not on boys' trips. He's not, you know, when he's home, he's home. So I think that's something that would surprise people about Michael and I. I mean, I think it's sexy, but maybe some people would think it's unsexy to be at home all the time. But we really value family time. Just ingredients. This is the electrolytes I like to give my kids.
Starting point is 00:33:10 They're made with real fruit and organic coconut water. No added sugar, no artificial flavors, no sweeteners, no colors, no sugar alcohols. There are so many electrolytes on the market. And for kids, I think it's important to find one that's simple that has a little bit of a taste. My kids won't drink the unflavored. They like a little bit of a something in there, okay? And the reason I like this one is it's real fruit and there's no fillers in it, which is so important to me. If I'm going to give my kids electrolytes every day, I want it to be safe for the whole family.
Starting point is 00:33:41 The one that I like are the everyday electrolytes. It's three to one potassium to sodium ratio. There's not an overly salty taste. It's something they can have in the morning and it's something that's nourishing their body. I have told you guys this, but I'll just be like, this is candy water and they love it, okay? It fits into the daily ritual and it's for people who read and care about labels. The mineral and electrolyte balance really matters too. I don't think a lot of people know this.
Starting point is 00:34:09 I didn't know this. It's not just the sodium, but you want a full picture of what your body needs. That's why the potassium is such an important part of their formulas. And there's 300 milligrams of potassium. They really have you covered so you don't have to think about it. It's FDA approved, safe and effective, and backed by 50 years of science. The same pill has been prescribed by doctors for over 30 years. O-Pill is going to switch that up.
Starting point is 00:36:26 It's a daily birth control pill, which is super accessible. And since it's over-the-counter, you do not need a prescription. You don't need a doctor's appointment or health insurance to get it. How convenient that you can just get this whenever you need it. You don't have to go sit in a doctor's office. You don't have to wait in a huge line. It's so amazing how accessible it is. It's sold at most major retailers in store and online.
Starting point is 00:36:50 It's convenient and flexible. I would have loved to have had this when I was in my 20s. It would have made everything so much easier. You can start and stop at any point in your cycle, and it starts working after 48 hours, okay, which is amazing. So if you're overwhelmed by high insurance costs or awkward pelvic exams or even not having enough time to see a doctor in the first place, check out O pill.
Starting point is 00:37:15 It's here to change all of that. Just take one pill at the same time every day. It starts working after 48 hours and you can start or stop it anytime. Like I said, you can find O-Pill at most major retailers, in stores, and online. Preventing pregnancy is as easy as O-Pill. Read all label information and use as directed. This episode is brought to you by the 90. All right. So we were recently in the sun. We were having a lot of fun. We were laying out. We were relaxing. We were on the beach. And I was really. prepared and preventative when it came to my skin because I was using this new product that's going to blow your mind and it is called the 90. So essentially it's this little necklace. It's so chic and simple and it tracks your UVA and UVB exposure. So I would just wear it and the app would deliver real-time insights and personalized recommendations. So it would help me know when I had enough sun exposure for the day and when my vitamin D was at capacity. I actually love the brand the 90s so much that I came on as an investor and an advisor. So because of my love of
Starting point is 00:38:25 prevention and being thoughtful about sun exposure, I just felt like there was a lot of synergy between my brand and this company. So if you want to own your light and take your UVA and UVB exposure into your own hands, you have to check out their site. So the brand is giving you guys code Bostics for $50 off the $299MSRP. So you can head to the 90.com. That's the and then 90.com and use code Bostics for $50 off the regular $299 price. That's the 90.com code Bostics. 90% of visible skin aging comes from UV exposure.
Starting point is 00:39:04 So for me, it's really important to be preventative as I age. I definitely build a lot of systems. And I think that's something unsexy, too, is getting those systems dialed out. I, you know, used to go to all these different treatments. And I've really refined it down to what really works. And what really works for me is microneedling for my skin, facial massage. I am militant about facial massage. I do it almost every day on my own skin.
Starting point is 00:39:34 And I have someone who comes to my house for 90 minutes and does facial massage. I love lymphatic drainage. if I want to lose 10 pounds of water weight, it's fantastic. And I will do lymphatic drainage in my office while I'm on calls. I'll habit stack it. I go to Josie, who's with Brazellicious. And I absolutely love cranial sacral therapy. That's the therapy that I choose to do.
Starting point is 00:40:00 It's like 10 years of therapy in the last year. It's been incredible for my fascia and for how I feel. feel, I feel so much more calm in my nervous system. And then I'm huge on cold plunge sauna. And everyone knows this. It's so many habits in one. You're drinking a ton of water because you're in the sauna. You have electrolytes in your water, so you're getting salt. You're outside walking from the sauna to the cold plunge. So you're getting fresh air. You're getting sun. And then you're getting that hot, cold contrast. And listen, I, you know, when I was in my 20s, didn't have a cold plunge sauna, but you can do hot, cold, contrasting showers.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Like, there's things that you can do to make it work for you if you're resourceful enough. So I think that's what I hope to inspire. And then everyone knows this habit, but I'm going to say it till I'm blue in the face, I read for an hour a day. And that is something that's unsexy to a lot of people. But I think it makes you intellectually sexy because you always have talking points at a dinner. You can speak eloquently on a bunch of different subjects.
Starting point is 00:41:08 and I think people who are well read are really sexy. I find that out of every quality in my husband to be the biggest turn on. I remember when we first started dating, he was like trying to woo me back. And he started talking to me about this book that he read about the making of salt. And he started telling me all about how salt was made. And I had just come out of this relationship with someone who probably never cracked open a book in his life. And I just remember thinking, holy shit, this guy is so smart. And this is fascinating.
Starting point is 00:41:51 And if he's reading a book about salt, he's probably reading other books. And I was right. He's the biggest reader I've ever met. And I think when you read, you just expand everything, your mind, your vocabulary, your energy. You read about different people's life, which opens up your perceptions. I just think it's one of the hottest things that anyone can do. And again, it can be free. Okay?
Starting point is 00:42:18 There's many books on Amazon that are on the Kindle app that are free. And you can always borrow a book from grandma or mom and dad. But I did read, read, read, read wide, read big. Right now I'm reading the year. of magical thinking. And it's a beautiful book. It's a little sad, but Joan Didion is such a beautiful writer. And I'm also reading, what else am I reading? Let me pull it up. Let me pull up what I'm reading for you guys. I'm reading yesteryear, and I don't know how I feel about it yet. The reason I don't know how I feel about it is because I like things to
Starting point is 00:42:59 feel real, and there's a little bit of a fake element about it right now. So we'll have to see if I like it. How do I get back into my habits after traveling? I implement habits into traveling. And then when I get back, it's rip the band-aid off. There's you, I will take a flight and get home at 3 a.m. in the morning. I will be back in the gym the next day. I think it's, I said this on Sandy Brockman's podcast.
Starting point is 00:43:27 It's like balancing your checkbook. If I've decided to fuck off for seven days, I am back in the gym the next day. And then I am back in the gym the day after. It's showing up consistently when you're back. So I use the time that I am in Austin to fully focus. What I love about living here is it's so grounding, but it's also no distraction. Like we are back to the routine. We're back in action, show time, ready to go after the vacation.
Starting point is 00:43:53 I don't take a day off. I don't give myself time to have jet lag. I don't. It's like back to the discipline. So that allows me when I'm on vacation to have more fluidity and fun. in the moment because I know the second I'm back home, it's back to work, it's back to workout, it's back to doing the daily walks, cold punch sauna, reading. I do implement reading into travel, so I'm always reading. I do implement P-Volve, my workout, Lauren Bostic for P-Volve, the kit, into
Starting point is 00:44:26 travel, and I do implement meditation into travel when I can. And then I just try to start with protein, but I'm not a psycho about the routines. I have like a separate travel routine, but I, my body knows and my system knows that when I'm back to Austin and I am back to my home turf, that it's the routine. And there's really no excuse and it's non-negotiable. And I think that helps me balance vacation and being home. And a lot of the time it's not vacation. I know it looks like that on Instagram story, but a lot of the times it's a work trip.
Starting point is 00:45:01 So like when we're in New York and L.A., it's a work trip. we did just go on a very fun psychotic vacation that was not work and I tuned out for a week and it was amazing but I'm lucky enough to travel with my sister Mimi and she helps me gather any content which is amazing and it makes it really fun because she's able to travel with this all the time so finding resourceful ways to make it work if someone tells me no if someone tells me no if someone tells me I can't. If someone tells me it's unsexy, I'm finding a different way to make it work. I think you can do that with anything in your life. We'll call it, we'll call it life maxing. How about that? Is that a new one? I'm not on TikTok. I've got to check it. Ticktock, knock, knock.
Starting point is 00:45:48 Is that a new one. Life maxing. Max your life. You get one life. Live it. Have fun. It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be the best version of your life. It can be. I hope you, loved that episode. I am so passionate this year if you cannot tell about doing solo episodes, doing a proper catch up with you guys. I would love to know what you guys want to catch up on next. Leave a comment on YouTube and let us know what you guys are wanting to hear because I love doing these episodes without a guest and it's like a nice way for me to touch base with you guys. And we will leave all of my links
Starting point is 00:46:40 in the show notes from this episode. And next time we're going to get Emily to have a mic and Carson's mic's mic's going to be turned on. So I am off to go do dinner with my children and go to bed with my book. Bye.
