Welcome to the Bostics, starring Lauren Bostic and Michael Bostick. Together, they are the Bostics.
I spent the weekend cleaning out anything and everything that was no longer serving me.
My sister, Mimi, came into my closet the other day, yesterday, and she was like, oh my God, it feels so fresh in here.
I gave away so many pieces of clothing. I think I sold about 200 pieces. I gave about 100 pieces away. And I am starting fresh and I am edited down. Everything is edited down. So while I was doing this and while I was cleaning out my closet and my sock drawer and my workout clothes and going through literally everything I own, I realized that I am passionate about doing an episode.
on de-influencing. Obviously, I have been part of the influencing situation. I have influenced
a lot of different supplements, clothes, Amazon items, things to buy. But I think I am at a point
in my life, and I know a lot of you guys are, where there's something really alluring about
discernment and being edited down and being really picky and thoughtful and intentional about
what you allow in your space in your life. And I don't know if it's just becoming a mom or getting
older, but I am just getting more and more particular about what I allow in my ether. So this
episode is going to be about less. Okay? We've reached peak more. There's a lot of more, more supplements,
more skincare, more products, more morning routines, more beauty, more clothes. It's just like a lot of
stuff. And again, I've participated in this, but I think I am about restraint lately, okay?
I think making my life better has to do with less, less, less. So this episode is going to be
things that I have curated, that I have gotten rid of, and mindset shifts around buying.
because I think the real luxury is having less and having things that you really love
that you really want in your energetic field if we're getting woo-woo.
Emily, our project coordinator and Carson, our producer, they're both here and they're going to
sort of give us some notes to go off of. Let's start with the 27-step morning routine.
Listen, I love a morning routine. A morning routine sets up the tone of my day. I'm very passionate about
this. If you have followed along for a long time, you know that mornings are sacred to me. They're
important. But when you have children, you have to be malleable and flexible within your routines.
So what I have done with my mornings with three kids is I have set up systems to be able to pivot in the
morning. I don't get to wake up and meditate every single morning like I used to before kids.
but if I happen to wake up before my kids, I intuitively will wake up, go downstairs,
lay on my red light bed, and meditate for 20 minutes before they wake up.
Does that happen every day? No, we're flexible.
Something I always do that I go to is when I am in the kitchen helping to make breakfast,
I will simultaneously make myself an electrolyte lemon hydrogen water.
I have all of these things in my drawer ready to go. My body knows I do it. I crave it before coffee. It's just something that I do. I like a coffee in the morning. Sometimes I'm drinking it while I'm running out the door. Sometimes I'm not, but it's the same coffee every single day. I love to walk with the baby in the morning. Sometimes it's all my kids are on a walk with my husband or sometimes it's just the baby and I. But the point is, is it's flexible and it's not rigid.
So what I would say is if you're overwhelmed by all of these morning routines,
just have a toolbox of things that you like to do and go with the flexibility of your day.
It doesn't have to be so crazy.
Would I love to cold plunge sauna every morning?
Sure.
Is that happening?
No.
But on days when I do get 30 minutes to myself, I know that that's an option.
What I've done that's really helped is I really habit stack it.
So I wake up.
I'll like bring the daily stoic outside and sit on the porch and put my feet on the grass while my
kids are running around. They'll come outside. We're getting sunlight. We're grounding. I'm reading
stoicism. It's like hitting those things. But it's not rigid. If that doesn't happen, I'm not going to
lose my mind. So what I would tell you about the morning routine to like de-influence you from a 17-step morning
routine is have tools that you love in your toolbox that you go to, but have a malleable energy around.
it. And you know, that could mean anything from sure you have the same electrolytes every morning
and sure you have the same coffee, but it's not so like it has to be at this time and it has to be by
this. And if I don't do this, my cortisol is going to go up. Have a lot of like feminine flow in
your morning routine. That's something that's really helped me. And it helps me also when I have a
certain amount of time. I'm like, oh, I have 30 minutes. I could do a walk with the baby. I can get
outside. I could turn on a walking meditation. I'm all about just doing what I can with what I can.
And that sometimes I don't have the capacity. We're running late. Maybe we slept in, whatever.
I don't put a pressure on myself. I just sort of let it flow. The overconsumption of supplements
is an interesting one. Obviously, not every supplement works for everyone. I've talked about all
different kinds of supplements. I've interviewed so many people who have supplement companies. I've had
scientists, doctors, all the things on this show. I do not take every single thing that I'm told to take.
I sort of curate it to work for me. What I did that really helped and I think this will help everyone is
take your labs. I got a blood test, which was really hard for me. I took my labs. I ran it through my
chat GPT that knows me pretty well. We go way back. And I said, I want to make this simple
on me and I don't want to go crazy. But these are my top concerns. I want to grow my hair. I want
healthy skin. I want to feel good. I want to feel energized. And I want to fulfill the gaps that are in
my diet or in my labs. And chat GBT put together a really simple one-day. One
page screenshot of what I can do. And how this really helped me was really interesting.
I was taking my iron supplement, which is like really great for hair growth with my magnesium at
night. And I found that those two are counter, they counteract each other. So not only did it help me
sort of like dial down my supplements and be strategic with what I'm taking, but it helped me
time out the supplements in an effective way. If you're taking thyroid medicine, obviously you
have to be strategic with supplements. So what I do now is I have the same supplements. They're all
on one row in a cupboard and they're categorized from morning, afternoon, and night. And I don't
overwhelm myself with it. Look, these are the supplements that I go back to over and over.
Amino acids, you will always, if you see me drinking a water bottle, it's most likely mango
amino with a little bit of creatine. That's a go-to for me. You know this. I do my electrolytes before coffee.
That is a go-to. Okay? I don't mess around with that. I take an iron supplement for hair growth.
I'm really into taking organ meat supplements for the hair. I also eat organs and I think that's a
supplement. And I really like fatty 15. You guys have talked about that on the show. It's a really
interesting compound. I found it fascinating when we interviewed the founder. And then the others,
I'll fill in the gaps here and there. So maybe it's a vitamin C. Maybe I am getting sick.
So I'll double up on the glutathione. Maybe I need minerals. For NAD, a lot of people do a
IV. I cannot do an IV. I just can't do it. I've had traumatic circumstances with that.
I got an IV maybe a year ago and it like didn't go into my vein and blew up my hand. So I just
I'm not doing that. So for NAD, I like a supplement. I like happy aging. A lot of these supplements
that I love, I have done a lot of research on and you can use Code Skinny because we've had a lot of
them on the podcast. But my supplement routine is like it might sound crazy to someone who's listening,
but listen, I get thrown every last speck of thousands of supplements all the time people send
them to me. We have people on the show and I've really dialed it back. And my point is, is get your
labs done, talk with the doctor, maybe take it to chat GPT to see how that would be laid out
morning afternoon and night. And I think with supplements, less is more, especially if you are like
me and you like eating your organ meat. You would not believe how many vitamins, minerals, and
nutrients are in that organ meat. So to me, it's like what foods am I eating to, to, you? To,
supplement with. That's my, that's my foundation. The vitamins are just like on top of that. And I do
what I can. I miss some days. I'm not perfect. I think we've been influenced by so many different
influencers on so many different supplements. And I think at the end of the day, you really have
to do your own research and figure out what works for you. Skin care. This is another one. Everyone's
skin is different. You have to do what works for you. I was getting served all of this content on lasers.
at the end of the day, I am not going to do a laser. What I'm going to do is microneedling.
PDNR, microneedling, has been the most life-changing thing for me for my skin. So I'm not going to go spend
a ton of money on lasers. I'm going to stick with my basic skincare products that work,
which I'll tell you. It's actually not crazy. And I'm going to microneedle once a month.
My esthetician in Austin, who microneedles, is named Jamie, and she told me that if you microneedle once a
month for six months, it ups your collagen 600%. To me, I love the fact that you microneedle and your body
heals itself. It's very similar to cranial sacral. When you're microneadling, your body is healing
itself, which is so incredible. Cranial sacral, same thing. When you get cranial sacral,
the body is healing itself. There's something to me that's really attractive.
about that. I've tried the IPL laser before for hyperpigmentation. It did not work for me. Again,
everyone's different. Laser might work great for you. I like to keep it simple with my microneedling.
I micrneedle my face, my chest, my neck, my hands, my upper arms. I mean, I love microneedling. I cannot say
enough good things. If you're going to do one thing, definitely look into that and see if it works for you.
For products, I tend to go towards the same brands for skin.
Apoketus, not epicurean. I like epicureen claustrum, but epicetus is one of my favorites. Hydronity
was made for burn victims. I think it's really great for dermatitis. I love Ptioxx. I love facial
massage with a really nice, beautiful oil. I love oils. I'm not a big fan of fragrance. I tried a very
popular brand that every single influencer in the world has raved about. And I was like, okay, I got to
try this. I tried it. I'm not going to say the name of the brand, but it smells like a perfume store.
I don't want an airport perfume store on my face. I don't, I want it to not smell super strong.
I also love primally pure. That's a non-toxic line. I like Agent Nautour. Those are sort of my
go-toes and ones that I feel work best on my skin. Something everyone can do for free is facial
massage. We'll never shut up about that. If I'm de-influencing you,
from something here. It's you don't need 100 products. Manipulate your face and get some great facial
massage. You can do it on yourself. You could watch a tutorial. I have a bunch on my Instagram page. It's
literally free. You could get castor oil and you could massage your face and lift your face every morning.
It's something I do and I think it's the most powerful thing. So instead of buying, you know,
50 products, I would start with facial massage, microneedling, and figuring out those simple products.
Obviously, you know I use cold therapy. I use a lot of ice, skinny confidential ice roller
every single day. That is my go-to for tightening the skin. But my skincare routine is all organized.
So what I do is I have a bag. It's this really cute blue bag. And it's stacked with all of my
skincare. And in the morning, I will do facial massage while I'm like outside or taking a walk.
And then I'll take my skincare in the car while Michael drives and we'll go to the gym and I'll put
it on in the car. And everything's organized. I have my brow peptide. I have the sunscreen that I
like. I have a couple of products. And we're good to go. I keep it simple. I do not, I am not,
I used to be like this. I used to be someone that had a bathroom with all.
different kinds of products. I have narrowed it down to a drawer because again, restraint. It's like
less is more. I also love a sheet mask. I love a Korean sheet mask. Derma firm makes a really good one.
But these are go-toes that I keep going back to over and over and over. The micro trend has jumped
the shark for me. Everyone's doing mob wife one day. The next day it's something else. Like I
I feel like it's, I try to like really stay focused in my own lane of what looks good on me.
I have fluctuated with the weight because of the babies and I have realized the best colors on me
are certain colors. The best fits on me are certain fits. I don't really go off of it. I like to
keep it classic. I like it tailored. And I have found that just sticking to what works for me is best.
with the closet clean out, I was noticing a lot of blacks, whites, browns, olives, and a little bit of red in my
closet. Those are sort of like my colors that I go to. I will throw in a pop of color here and there,
especially if I'm doing something that it feels fitting for. So for instance, if I am taking a vacation
to Cabo, I'm going to pull in a little bit more color. So the closet, though, like the closet that I have,
right now is small. It's minimal. I think it would shock people if I showed them my closet. The pieces
that I have are pieces that I will have for years. They're timeless. I love the row. I love click the
label. I'm a big fan of brule by Kenzie Burke. I think she does a really good job of giving you those
wardrobe staples. But I don't like to go to hundreds of different brands. I like to keep it simple.
And I have found that when I buy something that's really cheap, that's a trend, I always end up giving it away.
So I will buy things that are inexpensive.
I love pairing inexpensive things with expensive things.
I'm all about that.
But I don't like it to be an inexpensive trend.
I avoid that.
I want to talk real quickly about SOFi.

you that Navy Dolphins, yes, the Navy does have dolphins, helped us unlock a secret to healthy aging
for our whole family. Well, that's true because Dr. Stephanie Van Watson was helping the U.S. Navy
study aging dolphins and they realized that they have something called C-15, which we all have as well.
So here's the thing. I'm so excited to share with you guys, C-15 from Fatty 15. It's the first
emerging essential fatty acid to be discovered in more than 90 years. It is an incredible
scientific breakthrough to support your whole family's long-term health and wellness, and you guessed
it, healthy aging. We've had Dr. Stephanie Van Watson on this podcast twice to talk about this
groundbreaking discovery. I highly suggest you check out those episodes, but the long and short of
it is that based on over 150 studies, we know that C-15 strengthens our cells and is a foundational
healthy aging nutrient, which helps to slow aging at the cellular level. In fact, when our
cells don't have enough C-15, they become more fragile and age faster. And when our cells age,
our body's age too. Nobody wants that. And what they found is many as one in three people worldwide may
have low C-15 levels and fragile cells. Again, this is going to make us age even faster.
Thankfully, Faddy 15, which is so easy to take. You can take any time of day. I take it in the night.
Sometimes I take it in the morning. Repairs age-related damage to cells protects them from breakdown
and activates pathways in the body that help regulate our sleep, cognitive health, and metabolism.

Let's talk about access.
I have not announced this to my friends and family if they're listening.
I'm changing my phone number.
I cannot see.
I feel like everyone feels like this.
This is not unique to me.
I cannot see my text messages any longer.
Like it is 20,000 group text messages.
Some group texts that I don't want to be on.
It is people texting me that I don't even know who it is because I haven't saved their
number.
It is too many work threads.
I think we've lost, we've all, me included, have lost the plot with text message.
It's like, it's out of control.
So for me, what I'm going to do is I have changed my number before.
And Michael and I almost got into a fist fight because he was so frustrated because from my
passport to my bank account to my Amex to my cleared to all the shit was all messed up.
So he is making me keep my phone number, but I am getting a new number where that is the
phone that I will be using. And here is my rule with access with my new phone.
I am not sending a mass text message out to 60 people saying, hey, it's Lauren Bostic.
I changed my number. This is my new number. Please don't share it. No, no. I did that last time. That doesn't work.
I am only going to give my number to people that I am actively engaging with. So what does that mean?
Well, my friend Mark and I text every day. So like, obviously, I'm going to text mark and be like, hey, it's Lauren.
I only want to curate my text messages with people that I want to talk to. And I think,
with how much access is happening right now with WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, there's so many
places, Slack, there's so many places email to get people's attention that for me, I feel out of
alignment when there's too much access. So what I'm doing with my new phone is like if we're
actively texting and we're actively talking, great. Moving forward, there is going to be such a
want in the world to disconnect. I don't want to be on all the time and I need to create boundaries
around my space and I need to create boundaries around my attention because you only have a
limited amount of attention and I personally don't know about you, but I want to use my attention
with where I can be productive. And to me, that's with my children, my family, my friends,
you know, work and writing. I don't need to be Texas. I don't need to be texting.
every last acquaintance that I've ever had on planet Earth. So that's why we're doing the phone
number change. We're also changing it to that new phone. What's that new phone? It's like a,
so cute. So on October 23rd, I'm starting fresh. New, new me. Oh, you know what I'm going to
de-influence you from? Screens. Every single person is on a screen all the time at every second while we're
eating, while we're walking. Again, I'm not saying I'm perfect here. In fact, I'm talking to myself
to, I think there has to be a serious, purposeful conversation that you have internally with yourself
of what you are putting up with when it comes to a screen. If you are on a screen from 9 to 5 every
single day, I would encourage you to examine that and I would encourage you to scale back where you
can. Obviously, some people have to do it from 9 to 5. I get that. But then if you're going
home and scrolling for three hours, I would cut in half. I would try. For me, that meant deleting
TikTok. I don't go on TikTok. That's been really helpful for me. I love not being on TikTok.
You know, when it comes to my Instagram, I star the accounts that I want to see. So I'm really
thoughtful around who I am following and what I'm consuming. That's been a really big game changer.
And I have not been perfect about it. If you would have asked me this question 12 years ago, I would have
looked at you like you had two heads. I don't need to be scrolling on my phone when I'm in the
bathroom. Let's leave our phone outside the bathroom. I don't want to really be scrolling on my
phone when I'm eating. The phone doesn't enter my space when I'm going to bed. It doesn't even
come in the bedroom. So that's a Kindle in hand for me. I spend a lot of time reading hardcovered books
and Kindle, and I think that's really helped me stay off my phone. Like I said, it's a work in progress
over here, but I'm trying. And I think that the more you can be off a screen, the better.
Looking out in nature, taking walks. What I'll do, too, is I will put my phone in my little purse
carrier on my stroller, and I'll put on a meditation and just walk for 20 minutes. And just look out.
I really think nature is going to be something that people, I don't know, this sounds like weird,
but like I think people want to go back to nature.
So we're going to see a transition there.
Maybe de-influencing people on feeling like they need to commit to one workout.
I like to mix it up.
I think it's good to shock the body.
For me, you guys already know what that is.
It's lifting heavy with Sandy Brockman.
If you want to lift with her, she has a platform on.
obey. I think you can use Code Skinny too there. And she literally walks you through how to lift
heavy at home. I'm big on P-Volve. You guys know this. I have the Lauren Bostic Times P-Volve kit
that I curated and edited and designed with them. It's baby blue. It's gorgeous. And then I like
Pilates. I pepper it in here and there probably twice a week. My teacher, Brittany, at C4.
I like a little bit faster-paced classic Pilates with a twist.
So that's what I do on a weekly basis.
And then I'm also walking all the time, especially after I eat.
And this is really weird.
But I have stopped walking duck feet.
I walk with my feet straight.
And if you look into this from a fascia perspective, it's really good for supporting your jaw.
and your neck when you walk straight as opposed to duck feet. And so when I go on my walks now,
I wear really comfortable shoes and I walk with my toes parallel, not duck. I think I was
walking duck for a while because I used to do ballet when I was little. And I feel like I was
turned out a little bit, but Sandy has really helped me walk straight and I do that while I walk.
I also while I walk all the time, if you can't tell I'm big on passive multitasking. I
take a band that I got off Amazon, you can link all this, Emily. It's this band that you put your
hands in and I'm doing posture exercises all the time. Like I do it like I do my facial massage.
My facial massage and my posture exercises are things that I'm constantly doing to strengthen my
back. And I'll have Michael push the stroller, take my kids out on a walk and just be doing
my posture exercises. If you see someone in a sheet mask with a huge vise,
doing posture exercises with a baby possibly listening to a meditation. That's me. Say hi. Let me de-influence you
from thinking that busy equals productive. My oh my, have I had my heyday with this? I cannot tell you that I have
been through every iteration of calendars, okay? I know what it's like to be jam-packed. I know what it's like
to work my ass off. I also know what it's like to take a season and take a step back and relax for a
minute. I know what it's like to be on vacation and be working at the same time. I've tried it all.
And what I've realized is that my calendar needs to be filled up with five different buckets.
The first bucket is I got to have a workout. I like a workout. It could be moving your body,
walking, lifting, whatever it is. So on my calendar is a workout every day. And that, again,
maybe it's a Sunday and I'm walking. The other bucket is I need my,
my calendar at work to primarily be filled up with things that are moving the needle towards the
direction that I feel my identity is going. Okay? This is really important if you're listening.
If your work calendar is filled up with things that don't expand and evolve your identity,
it might be out of alignment with who you are. And what do I mean by that? What I mean is
for me, writing is really important. Okay. I need to write. That needs to be in my
calendar for a couple hours three to four times a week. Another thing that's really important to me
is my product line. So making sure that I have time to take calls that are moving the needle in
a positive direction for my product line. Another thing that's really important to me, this show.
So in my calendar is time to research the show, time to read the book of the guests we're
interviewing, time to meet with the team and do research. And then of course doing the actual
episode. But all of the buckets that I'm doing when it comes to work is upgrading my identity. I don't
want to sit in the same identity that I was in a year ago. Evolving my identity is very important
from a bunch of different perspectives. It's important to me. It's important for me to show up as a
mother, as a wife, as a business person. I don't want to be in the same place that I was in
three years ago. It's not my personality. I like to keep it moving. So we have that bucket.
The other bucket is I like to have space in my calendar where I spend meaningful time with people
that I want to invest in.
So for me, that looks like going to my best friend's son's football game, showing up for her
and him.
Maybe it looks like grabbing a drink.
I grabbed chips and salsa and margaritas with Weston and my sister and brother-in-law
the other day.
I walked across from work.
We had a great time, an hour catch up.
It was great.
maybe it looks like going to cold plunge in sauna with some friends. Maybe it looks like a workout
with my dad. Whatever, like, whatever it is, it has to be people that I am interested in investing
time in that I care about. The other bucket is connection with my husband. That's in my calendar.
Tonight we're going on a date night. I like to put my kids to bed, connect with him that way.
We travel a lot together. We do the show together. I like to have purposeful connection with my husband.
bucket is obviously time with my children. All of these buckets don't require my phone. Maybe I guess
the calls do, but most of them do not require my phone because having your head stuck in the phone
is not going to evolve your identity. As a mother, as a wife, as a friend, in a relationship,
the phone is a cock blocker. I got to be honest, it's cock blocking you getting to where you want to
be in upgrading your identity. And that's just a truth. So my five buckets don't have to do with my phone.
When I'm with my friends, that phone is in my purse. Maybe I'll snap a picture of the table and then I move
it on. Tonight on date night, the phone is in my purse. I don't have any interest in securing
intentional time with my husband and then be scrolling on my phone. I also don't want to live in
other people's life. I want to live in my own life. That's why I think I've worked so hard to create the
life that I want. So just because your schedule is jam-packed doesn't mean you're productive.
Are the spaces on your calendar, things that actually fill you up? Or is it just busy work?
And I can give you a couple of examples of busy work. You're going to a bunch of events,
even though you don't want to. Maybe you're going to dinner with friends that you really don't
want to be around. Maybe you're going on a bunch of dates with people you don't want to be dating.
or maybe you're in a job that you don't like.
These are all things that are keeping you busy and keeping you distracted.
What I did, and maybe this will help someone, is I wrote down all the things I want to be doing on one side.
I do this every year.
It's called More and Less.
I write down what I want more of and then I write down what I want less of.
And it's really that simple.
It's like, do more of what you want and do less of what you don't like.
Do you know what's crazy?
I found out that Americans spend.
over $60 billion a year on supplements. But there's so many people with nutrient deficiencies. It's so
wild. Well, here's what I found out from the absorption company. I found out that a supplement can only
work at the level your body absorbs it. So this company is focused on solving this problem. They have
pharmaceutical grade absorption technology designed to help nutrients actually work. Because no matter
how powerful a supplement is on paper, it only matters if your body can absorb it. The one that I like,
it's really interesting. It's called the WLP1, and it's a daily weight management solution. So the
WLP1 supports weight management with ingredients clinically proven to increase natural GLP1s by 321%. None of the
tradeoffs of prescription GLP1s. So there's no injection and no nasty side effects. The absorption company
created this because they wanted a weight management solution with ingredients clinically proven
to naturally support that GLP1. And the best part about this company is that it's all about absorbing
in your system, which is awesome. Another one to check out is berberine. A lot of people call it
Nature's Ozzympic and it supports insulin resistance. So they've really thought of everything.
And of course, they have given you guys a code. Start taking supplements your body can actually
absorb. Go to absorbmore.com and enter bostics at checkout for up to 35% off your first order.
That's absorb more.com and enter bostics at checkout for 35% off your order.
Let's talk about free nicotine, free nicotine pouches. I love this company. And I also love
nicotine here and there. Here's the thing. Sometimes nicotine gets a bad rap because obviously
it's an addictive chemical, but many people are unaware of some of the cognitive benefits that can
come from using nicotine responsibly. When I need to lock in, when I need to focus, when I need to perform,
Maybe I'm doing this show.
Maybe I'm reviewing a P&L.
Maybe I'm doing some intense work.
A little nicotine here and there is a great tool.
I've talked about this on social.
I've talked about it on the show.
And the company that I choose is free nicotine.
What I love about them is they come in all sorts of different dosage from three milligrams
all the way up to 15.
You can do three.
You can do six.
You can do nine, 12.
And for the heroes out there, 15.
I think if you're starting out, I recommend the three or the six because you don't
want to go too strong, too fast.
But like I said, you can control the dosage.
You can kind of ease into it.
They also have incredible flavors.
my previous favorites were the mint and the watermelon,
but they recently just launched new flavors,
Blackberry lemon ice,
strawberry mango ice, pink lemonade ice, and strawberry kiwi ice.
So there's something really for everyone,
but like I said, I really like the originals,
but if I had to pick one of the new ones,
this pink lemonade ice is also pretty fire.
And what I love about this company is free is built for people
who have shit to do, no lectures,
no life transforming promises,
just a tool to stay sharp and focused.
And free is scientifically formulated to keep you at your best.
So like I said, nicotine is misunderstood in many cases,
but many people don't realize it could be,
used as a tool for cognitive enhancement. It could be used when you need to lock in and focus.
There's also studies out there that suggest that nicotine can also guard against degenerative diseases
of the mind. This is something that's been around for many generations, for hundreds of years that
people have used in many different cultures to stay sharp, to stay focused, and to feel their best self
when they need to perform. And it's not only for people that just need to lock in and stay
focus, whether you want to get into a creative flow. If you're dealing with high pressure situations,
it's great for handling pressure, or if you're prepping for that big moment, no matter what that means
to you, whether it's a date, a boardroom presentation, a meeting, closing a deal, whatever it may be.
They come in these discrete packages. It's pre-prime for rapid delivery. And the way I look at it
is you can really own your own edge with free. So like I said, this stuff, I use it as a tool.
I use it to enhance. I use it just like any other thing in my toolbox. So if you've been
thinking about experimenting with nicotine and you're wondering which company to try with,
free nicotine is the company that I choose. Like I said, they have all different strengths.
And I think if you're just starting out, start with the lower strengths. If you're experienced
with nicotine and you've done it for a little while, maybe go to the higher. But like I
there's something for everybody.
So check it out.
We have an incredible offer for our listeners and viewers.

This episode is brought to you by I Stand With My Pack, my favorite charity.
It's a female run, nonprofit, and they're all about saving animals and preventing cruelty locally and globally.
I have put a bunch of their dogs on my stories to get adopted, and it's really
cool because they're so focused on rescuing dogs from high kill shelters across southern California.
And what they do is they place them in loving foster homes for rehabilitation.
So if you're interested in donations, fosters, they need adopters.
Please check them out.
You can visit Istandwithmypack.org to donate, foster, or adopt.
Every bit of support helps cover medical care, food, and transportation for these dogs.
That's I standwithmypack.org.
I am de-influencing people off of doing content consumption and influencing people on books.
I'll make this quick because I know I've talked about this a lot, but books are my best friends.
I love to read.
I've loved to read since I was a little girl.
My mom was a huge reader.
I want my children to see me read.
I want to read to them every night, which, by the way, they are so in love right now.
If you have little kids, get this book, Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shell Silverstein.
Shell Silverstein, my kids are obsessed with Hungry-Mongry.
They're obsessed with lazy Jane, and they're obsessed with the crocodile dentist.
You've got to go read the poems.
They bookmark them.
We read them every night.
But it's gotten really everyone very excited about reading.
The book at the end of the night, I think, also gets their mind going in a really great way and shows them that we end our night with reading.
We read by red light, which is amazing.
I'm going to de-influence you from lights too at night.
Red light all day long.
I am a red light.
I am the guy in the kerchief and the cap with the red light.
I love red light.
So red light, a great book, could be on a Kindle, phone in the other room.
I feel like this whole episode is about the phone, de-influencing you from the phone.
Let me de-influence you from fragrance.
We have had so many people on this show talk about how fragrance is endocrine disrupting.
Now, I'm sure there's fragrances on the market that are not. I use like a magnesium lavender spray that has real lavender.
There are some really great candle brands like branch basics that have no fragrance. It's beeswax candles.
There are some deodorants that don't have fragrance. I just think you have to be mindful about how much fragrance you're putting on your body.
I have some perfumes that I like, but they're just really low chemical load. I just not telling everyone not to use fragrance.
of course we're going to use fragrance. My makeup is not perfect. I've used stuff that has fragrance in it.
But if you can just make the fragrance chemical load less, I think it makes a big difference.
So little tips are changing your cleaning supplies to branch basics, changing your detergent to Molly Suds,
looking at more smaller brands when it comes to shower gel. Like we love,
the brand K-Pore. I love primally pure. I love this brand for shampoo and conditioner that's called
like radu. I don't know how to say it, but my kids love it. And we just really try where we can
to cut the fragrance. Again, not perfect at this, but if you are using a bunch of fragrance in your
makeup, your skincare, your home, your cleaning supplies, like spraying fragrance on your pillow,
just using so much fragrance everywhere. The candles, like, Glade plugins. Like, I would just
eliminate it where you can. We use the Branch Basics candles or the skinny confidential
candles, which is with eucalyptus oil in my home. We sold out of them so we don't have them.
But those are the two brands that I like. I think Flamingo Estate does a good job of not being
overly fragranced. And then I'm a big fan. My friend Danielle got me on.
essential oils. I love essential oils. So we have, you know, peppermint going in the morning.
I'll do lavender at night and I'll put it on this like little burner thing that I have and just let it
float through the air. And for me, candles are more about like the movement and the sexiness of it
than the smell. And listen, sometimes if we have a dinner party, I'll pull out a fragrance candle
and give it a little whiff in the air. But I just think, again, eliminating where you can.
is great. I am de-influencing people about being so extreme about the sun and I have been on both
spectrums. I've been in the tanning bed with the Playboy Bunny sticker and I have been someone who's
like covered from the sun head to toe. You guys have seen it. I have this wearable. It's by the 90
and it basically tracks your sun exposure to tell you when you've had enough sun throughout the day.
I think what's great about this and what I love is the information behind it. So you get information about your sun exposure so you can be strategic instead of like guessing. I like how it takes the guess workout. So it'll tell you when you've had enough sun for the day. This is so great whenever I'm on vacation. So I'm influencing you to be intentional about your sun exposure and this is a great way to do it. I also am all about the hats, the driving gloves. I love it all. But I think this wearable's really been helpful whenever I'm on.
vacation or I'm walking the baby like it literally tells me when I need to get out of the sun.
It gives you a push notification about your UV exposure. I think it's really cool and it puts
the consumer in the power position. And they gave you guys $50 off. So you can go to the 90.com
and the code is boss sticks for $50 off. Let's also, before we go, discuss basics, clothing basics.
I was telling my sister the other day.
I gave her this Haynes white long sleeve t-shirt that looks exactly like the row.
You can't tell the difference.
Like, seriously.
And I told her the trick is to take this Haynes T-shirt and steam it before she wears it,
because then it looks super crisp.
So I'm de-influencing you from feeling like you have to spend tons of money on basics.
You can get cheaper options from Haynes,
from brule, from Click the Label, and the trick is to use a steamer. You want to use a steamer because it
makes it look extra expensive. You don't need to spend a fortune on basics, okay? If you're buying
basics like blacks or whites, long sleeve t-shirts, pants, little jackets, I think keeping it
really simple when you buy it, like you don't want a bunch of stuff on it. So like I'm wearing
this long-sleeve black t-shirt today. And I think it was like a hundred and five,
$50 and it's something that I can wear forever. And when I steam it, I think it looks like it's
$400. So just by using a steamer, you can take an inexpensive piece like the Haynes shirt.
The Haynes shirt that I have is, I think, $25. It's a men's white. We'll leave the link.
Amazon long sleeve t-shirt. And it looks exactly like the road when you steam it. Okay.
So you just don't want it to be wrinkled. That's the trick. So get a steamer.
and go shop basics and just make sure when you're getting the basics that there's not a lot of
like extra stuff on it. Like there's not a lot of zippers or there's not a lot of like design and make
sure the cut is just simple and tailored. That's my tip. So de-influencing you from feeling like you have to
spend so much money on basics, get a steamer. And I am off to have a stake with Michael where I will
be turning off my phone. That's a wrap. Thanks, Carson. Thanks, thanks Emily.
