Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a dear media production. She's a lifestyle blogger extraordinaire. Fantastic. And he's a serial entrepreneur. A very smart cookie. And now Lauren Everts and Michael Bostic are bringing you along for the ride. Get ready for some major realness. Welcome to the skinny confidential, him and her.
Starting point is 00:00:22 Welcome back to the him and her podcast. Today it's just her. You have me. I'm solo. I kicked Michael off. I figured this was a good episode to kick Michael off of because this is going to be about beauty and wellness and routines and he just doesn't need to be here. I'm going to talk to you about the practices that I've been doing lately, the ones that I think that work, the ones that I think that don't work. And I'm going to go really detailed with how I use certain things. So first we'll kick this off with the morning. The first thing I do when I open my eyes is I let sunlight in my room. And if my kids are still asleep, I will get a meditation in. I will put my legs up on my wall and I will put my headphones on
Starting point is 00:01:16 and do a meditation. I try to keep my Dr. Dennis Gross red light mask next to my bed and I'll put it on while I'm doing a meditation because anyone knows as a mom you have to be so, so productive and you have to be creative when it comes to your time. And I'm always looking for pockets of time to do something easily and do something on top of it. So I got my legs up on the wall. I'm meditating and I have my red light mask on. Now, probably 60% of the time my kids are waking up with me so I don't get to get this meditation in. But what I'll do is I'll wake up with my kids. I'll open the shades and I'll make the bed with them. I try to make it like a fun thing. And that takes about five minutes and then I will scrape my tongue. And I always scrape my tongue in the morning. That is the first
Starting point is 00:02:07 wellnessy thing that I do, even if I don't get a meditation in. And that is because I do not want to drink water when I have stuff on my tongue. Like I want it off. And I learn this from someone who is an herbalist. She said you always want to get all the bacteria that's been collecting on your tongue. And I should have mentioned I take my mouth tape off. So I'll take my mouth tape off. I'll scrape my tongue. I like a copper tongue scraper. There's this one by Wellness Mama. Her brand is Wellness. And it's a great tongue scraper. And then I'll brush my teeth. And then I will start drinking water. So after I've brushed my teeth, scraped my tongue, we're drinking the water. I'm drinking all the water I can possibly drink. And I will make my kids breakfast with Michael, usually like
Starting point is 00:03:00 eggs, give him a little toast, maybe some fruit, we'll turn on some music. And then the second that Towns is done with his breakfast, I put him in the stroller. And I do this because I've been reading and hearing a lot about morning light. And I do this thing called a circadian walk. And getting him outside in the sunlight in the morning is so beneficial to not only him, but to me, I'm all about it. And while I'm walking him, if I have not gotten a meditation in, this is a hack for you, moms. I put on a walking meditation. So now I am walking my son with a walking meditation. The one that I like is by Melissa Wood Health.
Starting point is 00:03:42 There's two I'm obsessed with. She has a lot. But the one that I love is an 11-minute one, and it's called Align. And you basically like realign yourself. It's so relaxing. Her voice is just so romantic. romantic and easy on the ears in the morning. I love it. And then there's another one that's a longer one that's a 16 minute one. So I will walk towns. Maybe I have my driving gloves on. And I will just
Starting point is 00:04:11 walk and walk and walk while I'm listening to this meditation. I'll get the nature in. I'll get the sunlight. And we probably walk for 20 to 30 minutes. I will come back to the house. I will make my daughter lunch for school. I will get my workout essentials going. So that's usually water with ice and a lot of Keon amino acids. I think you can use Code Skinny. I love the mango one. And then I'll do a scoop like usually three to five grams of creatine. I've learned all about the mental benefits of creatine by hosting this podcast. I'll mix it all up with a frother. and that is my water for the gym. And then I'll make another water.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I know I'm annoying, but I'm just giving you the real deal. I'll do a glass bottle. I'll do lemon, electrolytes, de-blooding drops, and sometimes hydrogen tablet. So it's like my two waters are waters on steroids. And I swear I notice a difference when I don't do these two waters together. So one to me is like all about the aminos and the creatine, which is like the workout water and then I have my just like morning lemon concoction. So those are my two waters. I got my daughter's lunch. I will run upstairs and do a skincare routine, get my hair presentable,
Starting point is 00:05:31 get my workout outfit on. In the skincare routine, I always, without a doubt, will use that ice roller. I have to use ice on my face in the morning. And we're going to get to how I use each of my tools and how I implement them and integrate them throughout the day. But the ice For me is like a non-negotiable. I have to use the ice roller because I'm so puffy. So I'm rolling my eyes. Sometimes I'll do a sheet mask while I walk and I'll roll over the sheet mask when I get home. But I love ice on my face in the morning. I feel like it just like wakes me up. You can also too, this is a little hack, put the pink ball facial massager in the fridge and use that to wake you up too. Anything that just gets the puffiness out of my face. After I've done, my skincare routine. Michael and I will take our daughter to school, sometimes he'll take her, sometimes I'll take her. And usually we have a workout after that. So far, I've got light movement and hydration. The hydration part is like on steroids because I've made sure that my water is really upgraded. The light I'm getting because I walked outside with towns. I lifted the shades. I also
Starting point is 00:06:43 work out in a facility that has like huge, huge, huge windows where you can like see everything, which is so great, I think. And the movement is my walk and my workout. So I've done those pillars and I've meditated. This might sound overwhelming to a lot of people what I do. But for me, it's like I know exactly what to do when to do it. And I don't look at my phone in the morning unless it's to turn on an audible, a podcast, or a meditation. So there's no scrolling. There's no answering people's text messages. There's no doing group family chats. There's no emails.
Starting point is 00:07:19 There's none of that shit until I've gotten my workout in. And I really think that that has enabled me to have the ability to have such a routine. Now, I want to also note this. There are many days where I don't get to have this routine because of certain things. And you've got to like just be flexible with it. So I even like try to have like a separate travel routine. I just get what I can get if one of my kids is having a tantrum. Like, I make it work.
Starting point is 00:07:47 But I found little hacks that can optimize it. So, like, I think it's really amazing to be able to do a walking meditation because I'm getting my sun moving. I'm outside. I'm wearing my driving gloves. I'm getting some sun. Like, there's so many things going on, but it's simple. And everything that I do is, like, organized.
Starting point is 00:08:05 So let me give you an example. I have a supplement and wellness cabinet. And this is a really great hack for anyone. you should have an area that you have your wellness stuff all in and organized. So you can easily grab it. There are so many times when you're going to be running out the door and you forgot something. And if it's all in one area, it's super streamlined. Same with skincare.
Starting point is 00:08:23 My skincare is in a drawer organized and it's in order of how I apply it. Same with my tools. I have my ice rollers in the fridge. They're all lined up. And then I have my pink balls right by my bed. And now I have my body sculptor right on my vanity next to all. my products. So everything is easy to grab. If you're looking for something to travel with your tools and you want them protected from like the frozen peas or the frozen meat in your freezer, then you
Starting point is 00:08:54 want to grab the sleeping bag because we designed a sleeping bag to keep your ice roller or your facial massager insulated. So it actually, in my opinion, keeps it colder for longer. So sometimes I'll be on my way to the airport. I'll grab my ice roller. I'll put it in the sleeping bag and it'll keep the ice roller like super cold for when I'm on the plane. You could also store your ice roller and facial massager in the sleeping bag in the freezer. That keeps things really cold. And then of course you can travel with it. So you have like a little bag, a little sleeping bag for your tools. The meditation. I know if my kids aren't up, I meditate in the morning. First thing, if they are up, then I'm going to meditate on my walk. So I have like, I have like plan
Starting point is 00:09:37 B in case plan A doesn't work. I have my workout scheduled. We talked about this on the podcast with Michael. That's been life changing for me. I have built my life around scheduling my workouts. To me, my workouts are non-negotiable. They keep me healthy. They keep me energized. They give me clarity. They make me healthy for my kids, my husband. And I feel better. So the workout is like is is the thing for me. And that could be anything from doing something at home to doing weights, to yoga, just moving my body and making that a priority. Okay. So after I'm done with my workout, I come home. And for me, it's protein. The second I get home, whether that's a bowl of meat, you guys think it's so funny that I eat a bowl of meat. I eat a bowl of meat, sometimes like two to three times a day. A huge bowl of
Starting point is 00:10:37 beef. Sometimes it's three eggs with a little bit of salsa and some microgreens, but it's always protein after a workout. Sometimes it's protein oats. I've made that on my Instagram story. Sometimes it's protein pancakes, but I always get protein in after my workout. And that has helped me lose 50 pounds. The protein is essential for me. And sometimes it's like hard boiled eggs because I'm running around. But I try not to schedule calls until a little later, and I try to schedule them only on certain days, so I'm not coming off a workout onto a call. Now, there are some days that I get to get a cold plunge and sauna in before a workout. I always cold plunge in sauna before a workout, because if you do it after, I heard from Andrew Huberman that it is not good for muscles
Starting point is 00:11:25 after a workout. I try to do it before. So each day is, different. But the point is, is, as you can see, my mornings are really about wellness and self-care and showing up for my kids. And they're structured that way. So there's not a lot of like wake up and calls and emails and like reacting. It's like more of like really getting my head clear so I can be effective when it's time to work. Because I'm a very zero to 60 person. Like when I'm working and I'm at work and I'm away from my kids, it better fucking be worth it. And I better be getting every single ounce out of that toothpaste tube. So that's sort of my mornings. I go into my day after I eat my protein and I go pretty hard. I also should mention that I do have a cup of coffee
Starting point is 00:12:12 in the morning. I like a cup of coffee, a big one, on ice, with two inches of raw milk. And that is what I usually have before I work out. This is a hack, I think. Like the raw, milk, I don't know what it is. It's like a protein shake because there's like a little protein, a little sugar and a little carbs. And it gives me the perfect balance of energy to work out. I think drinking raw milk has so many benefits. That's another episode. I'm not an expert on it, but I've learned a lot of different things about it and I really like it in my coffee every single morning. I prefer it right now over almond milk, which is crazy because I was an almond milk girl. I froth up that raw milk and sometimes I'll put in, I'm just getting really, really detailed.
Starting point is 00:13:02 I'll put in, get off my acids, little mineral packets that takes the acidity out of the coffee. And I'll sip that through my workout or in the car. I also want to note it's fun to work out if you can with your significant other because Michael and I have some time to connect in the car. So that's nice. Okay, so now I get home and it's off to the races with work after I eat my protein. breakfast. So I, you know, I try to really, really get the most out of each day when it comes to work. I'm a big believer that when you feel good, you're going to work your ass off when it's time to work because you feel so great. So when I'm at work, like I said, it's pedal to the metal.
Starting point is 00:13:44 And now I'm going to go and hop to my nighttime routine and how that sort of looks. so I get home. I like to have a protein-filled dinner. I've been really into a burger wrapped in lettuce with a lot of jalapinos in red raw onion, maybe a little avocado mayo, some primal kitchen ketchup. So good. Again, these are, I, if you guys haven't noticed, like to eat and drink the same thing every day. So I don't have decision fatigue. Like there's no decision fatigue in my morning routine or nighttime routine because it's so similar every single day. It makes it really easy for me to know what I'm eating every single day. I also think that has contributed to losing the 50 pounds post-birth. I really, really find that as someone who is a mother of two under three, who is running a company
Starting point is 00:14:41 of 20 people and doing a podcast that comes out twice a week, that taking decisions off the table and just knowing what I'm doing makes my life so much fucking easier. I don't know if that's a tip for mothers that feel overwhelmed, but it's like when I know what I'm eating and I know what it gives me clarity to do other things. Okay? So I keep the foods really simple.
Starting point is 00:15:09 It's like eggs, it's meat, it's a great salad. Pretty simple. I like the same little treat at the end of the night, which we'll get to too, too. But I like to go home. I like to have my burger without meat or I'll have a bowl of meat. Or I'll make like siate chips, nachos with meat on it. I'm a big meat eater. It's changed my skin. It's changed my hair. It's changed my energy. It's made me lose weight. I don't know if it's for everybody. I'm just saying it's worked for me. The amino acids in it are just, it's been incredible.
Starting point is 00:15:43 I love force of nature. So good. So every night I have a lot. I have. my magnesium, I put on my mouth tape. But before I put on my mouth tape, I have two squares of hue dark chocolate. The almond butter is so good. It's crunchy. It's satisfying. It's delicious. So that's my end of night treat. Anyway, I eat my protein. I usually eat it after I make my kids dinner. I'm not like over a stove. I'll do, I'll have like a thing of rice going. I'll have maybe some pasta for them. I'll add broccoli, green beans. I'm really getting into a crock pot right now because of Brooke Burke because it's so easy to do. I'll give them chicken. I'll give them beef. I just like work with what I can with my kids and we'll talk and I put away my phone when I'm
Starting point is 00:16:37 with my kids at night. Like I've been on my phone all day for work or I've been in front of a camera or on a mic or with a headphone or texting with the team or slacking or. not really slacking. Katie's going to kill me for saying slacking, mainly emailing. I've just like been in front of a screen and I'm over it. I want the screen away from me. I'm done. I put on some jazz, maybe a podcast. I'm talking with my kids. I'm making my dinner. I'm making their dinner. I try to make the home feel really, really warm. Starting point is 00:20:26 Sikara.com slash skinny. You know what is always part of my routine every single day? Symbiotica. Okay? Let me tell you how I use their specific products within my routine. I'm obsessed with their vitamin C. I will either squeeze the packet in my mouth or put it in my water. I love their glutathione.
Starting point is 00:20:50 I use it every single time I drink alcohol. Glutothion is really, really. really great if you are going to consume alcohol. But I also just like taking it every day and I think it's the best tasting one out of all their supplements. And then every single night when I wind down, I use this lavender magnesium spray. It is absolutely incredible. It sets the mood and it's magnesium that sort of like seeps into your skin. It just makes me feel so relaxed. I'll even spray it on my pillow, on my neck. It's the best. I recommend it to everyone. So those are three products. that are always in my routine, you really can't go wrong with symbiotica.
Starting point is 00:21:29 They're a health supplement company that's committed to designing sophisticated formulations. So everything they do is scientifically proven to increase vitality and longevity. I am just such a fan of this brand. I know the founders really well and I know how gnarly they are about the integrity of ingredients. Try it for yourself. Implement it into your routine, the vitamin C, the glutothion, and the magnesium. museum spray are the best, visit symbiotica.com slash skinny. You get 15% off sitewide. That's symbiotica.com slash skinny. This is a tip that I picked up from my mom and my dad. It's like I always want my house
Starting point is 00:22:15 to feel really inviting and warm, especially for my husband. I think having candles lit, like incense going, smooth jazz. Again, it's things like these are my go-to things that I do every single morning and night. So they're just like natural now. They're so easy. It takes two seconds. And it just makes the house feel nice. I like a dimmed light. Michael Bostic just learned about a dimmer. I taught him about it. But it just makes the whole atmosphere like nice. I like that for my kids. I try to clean the kitchen as I go. So I don't have to wake up to a dirty kitchen. And I will try to walk my kids to do a circadian walk to wind them down at night. And again, that is no phone unless I'm like playing music while we're walking. I put on my driving gloves again and I walk. And then we come home,
Starting point is 00:23:08 we go upstairs, we wind down. We've got red light in our bedroom. There's no lights at all. We only have natural light or red light. That has been a fucking game changer to getting my kids to sleep. I think it's a game changer too for anyone who is like me and on the computer and the phone for a living. I do not want blue light blaring, even like just regularly. I don't want it in my space when I'm trying to wind down. I will go in the room. I'll get the bed ready. I'll get my kids beds ready. Get the weighted sleep sack that has saved my life. Thank you, Dreamland baby. And I'll, again, wind it down with music, like a certain music. I love any kind of frequency. It immediately winds my kids down to. And like we have like this chime machine. I'll post it all my Amazon store. I have I have a lot of
Starting point is 00:23:57 things and I'll just press, press, press, press, press. So it's the same thing every single night for them. And they know it's a routine and they know it's time to go to bed and it signals to their brain that it's over. I say the show's done. I take a warm shower. I'll do my body sculptor. I love body oil. We'll get into this too with the sculptor. Do my skincare routine. Got to do your skincare routine because you got to take the makeup off. You want to exfoliate, really get in there. Not on my phone much. Listening to Audible maybe or just like present with my kids, but not on my phone much at night. I'm really truthfully done with my phone after being on it for work so much. And I will put my phone on airplane mode at about 7.30 or 8 and put it's in the other room. I'll put it close to me because if I wake up and I want to meditate,
Starting point is 00:24:52 I got to know where it is. When I stay close to me, I mean in the other room, but like I'll put it somewhere where I know, like on the bookshelf outside my door. And I will grab my Kindle. I'll get in bed. I usually try to tell Zaza. I'm just getting really detailed with you guys. Like a story, Michael and I are telling her stories of when we were little. She's really into this moment. And so we'll tell her a story. We'll spend time with her. And then it's like time to go to bed. And it's mommy and daddy's time to read on our Kindle.
Starting point is 00:25:22 And we talked about this in the solo episode with him and I. I think if you can go back and listen to that, if you haven't, it's on five behaviors to change your life. And we get really granular with how we have the ability to read every single day. Now, this is not me saying I hit this every single time. This is an ideal situation, an ideal day. I probably get it 70% of the time. time. The other 30% shit happens. Okay. There's with two kids under three, like, it's a ticking time bomb. So stuff
Starting point is 00:25:55 happens. But I do find with kids, and I said this earlier, the routine really helps them to have that structure. And the sounds and the light and the chimes and the frequencies and the red light has really helped them wake up and go to bed. The walks, like all. All these things that I do, I think, have helped my kids associate with when it's time to wake up and when it's time to go to bed. I don't know much about kids at all. Honestly, like, I really don't know anything about kids. And before I had kids, I knew nothing about kids. But now that I have kids, I feel like I'm, like, learning as I go. This is just, like, what's worked for us. I don't know if it's right or wrong. Maybe I should have an expert on the podcast. Anyway, so that's that. I
Starting point is 00:26:46 tape my mouth shut every single night. I have magnesium every single night. Two things I do every night. My supplements are usually throughout the day. I didn't even get into that. I'll have to do an episode on my supplements. But the one supplement that I have in my routine at night always is magnesium. There's also this like magnesium spray from symbiotica that I have by my bed. And it's a lavender spray. And you spray it on like your chest and it seeps into your skin and it smells so good. and it relaxes you. I like to sleep on a silk pillowcase because of my skin and hair. I'm trying to give you guys like every detail that I can give you.
Starting point is 00:27:26 And I'll like do facial massage with the pink balls while I'm reading my Kindle. It feels so good. It's such a nice way to wind down and relax. And the mouth is taped and we're off to sleep. I'm usually asleep. Preferably if I'm not going out to dinner or something. Remember, I could be going out to dinner. I could have a work event. I could have to work late. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But if it's like a normal day, I would love to be asleep by 845. That's my ideal. Eyes closed asleep. Maybe I've read for 45 minutes and I'm out. Usually I fall asleep, though, like nine. The Kindle I use is the oasis. It's on dark mode. It's incredible. So now, Since I have the morning and night laid out for you, this is the current one, this is the one that has been updated and upgraded since moving to Austin, we've changed our home to be a sanctuary. I thought that I would give you a breakdown, detailed breakdown of how I use each of the products in the skinny confidential line.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Because I want to tell you how you can implement them into your own day. and I want to tell you how I use them, maybe it'll inspire something in you. And by the way, if I tell you guys all this and you have a different way that you use the ice roller or the facial massager, I would love to know. Like, drop in my DMs. I always like to hear how you guys use the products. So let's start with the ice roller. We already know the ice roller is the best thing in the morning.
Starting point is 00:29:02 It wakes you up. It's ice on your face. It's going to constrict your face, boost circulation. It tightens the pores. that's a really good one, especially before you put your skincare on. So I use the ice roller this way. I have it in the freezer. I take it out. I roll it on my arm eight times because you don't want to put freezing cold ice on your face without checking it on your wrist. Okay. So check it on your wrist. Make sure it's ready to go. If you like are kind of a pussy about ice, just put it under hot water,
Starting point is 00:29:34 maybe put it in your fridge instead of your freezer. I like things intense. You know. this. So I will roll it on my wrist like eight times and then I will use it on my skin on my eyes. My favorite way though to use it is to put a sheet mask on. I like a wet slimy sheet mask. The one from Yenna is amazing. The one from Omad is amazing. And I'll ice roll over the mask. And that is going to kick your like I can't. It's going to kick your routine up. It's going to lift the cheekbones. It tightens. I can't like it's just such a good hack. Another way is to put iPads on. I put my iPads on after they've been in the fridge. So I keep my iPads. They're Peter Thomas Roth. I like the baby blue ones and the gold ones. And I keep them in the fridge. And I'll wake up maybe before my walk or while I'm making my kids breakfast and put an iPad on and you can ice roll over that. It's so good. But you can also just use the ice roller like, I don't know, just. plane. I travel with my ice roller because the plane adds so much water weight to me. And also, I think there's nothing better than ordering an ice bucket from room service and sticking that
Starting point is 00:30:50 ice roller in there and using it while you're traveling. So that's the way that I use the ice roller. You can also use it on random things. You can use it on bee stings. You can use it on razor burn on your vagina. Wash it with a baby wash cloth and wash it with all natural soap. You can use the ice roller on razor burn, okay? You could use it on a rash. You can use it wherever you want, wherever you want ice on you. You can use it in the sauna. The infrared can bring out hyperpigmentation. So my facialist Brooke told me to bring the ice roller in the infrared sauna, which I think is an incredible tip. The ice roller is the jam. Okay. Not to be confused with the facial massager. The facial massager, my favorite way to use it is at night. Sometimes.
Starting point is 00:31:36 I run hot water over it, but sometimes I just use it plain and I feel like it's just such like a nice massage for my face. And while the ice roller is more for depuffing, the facial massager is more for like chiseling and sculpting. And this is great for like lymphatic. You lift up the face. You bring it down the neck. Now, the facial massager is also amazing when you apply your skincare. I like to put oil on my face in the morning sometime and like do a lot of facial massage. That feels so good. So the tools really work in tandem. It's like be puff with the ice, chisel with the facial massager. We have an oil that we launched. It's a pomegranate raspberry oil. It's absolutely beautiful. People love it because it's super lightweight. It's not too
Starting point is 00:32:22 heavy. And it works really nicely with the facial massager. This oil also can be stacked into anyone's routine. You like can use it with moisturizer. I like to use it at night. You can use it in the morning. It's a depuffing oil. It gives you like a cooling sensation, which I love. And I just designed an oil that I didn't see on the market that I wanted. It's very simple. The ingredients are simple. It's a great one. So oil is amazing. If you want something to really take your depuffing up a notch, the depuffing oil is great. This show is brought to you by BetterHelp. I am all about BetterHelp. I think it's absolutely incredible that you can now access therapy online. You can access it through video or phone. Some people don't want to be on video.
Starting point is 00:33:20 So BetterHelp is such a great tool to have because if you don't want to be on video or you don't want to talk to someone in real life, you can just call them. I think that they've really sort of fixed all the pain points when it comes to therapy. You don't have to get in your car. You don't have to waste gas. You don't have to drive. You don't have to get there. You don't have to sign in. You don't have to run into someone.
Starting point is 00:33:40 You can just do everything from the comfort of your home. I personally am a big fan of therapy, especially if you feel like you need it. I just executive produced a show called Good Morning Monster and the premise around it is therapy. Starting point is 00:34:26 Visit BetterHelp.com slash Skinny today to get 10% off your first month. That's BetterHelp, H-E-L-P-com slash Skinny. I am someone who travels a lot. And I'm constantly trying to be healthy when I travel, but it is a struggle. But leave it to the Weston hotels to fix this issue. Okay, you guys, first of all, they have over 200 destinations around the world and they're committed to all things wellness. So what they've done is they've made travel an opportunity to actually enhance your well-being. They have like this whole situation that's dedicated to move, eat, and sleep well. They even have a Weston, workout fitness studio. It's equipped with state of the art equipment and you can customize your
Starting point is 00:35:14 workouts while on the go. They have like ball of products that you can borrow during your stay. They really thought of everything. You can do your own thing in your guest room with workout and recovery gear. It's all available on on demand through Weston's gear lending program. You should know they also have eat well. They have Weston chefs and craft designed dishes to keep your well-being in mind. So they've really zoned in on portion control. They think about nutritional balance. They're just committed to helping you eat healthy, nourishing meals. And lastly, they have sleep well. This is all about recharging your body and mind with a restorative sleep.
Starting point is 00:35:49 Weston's even has a renowned heavenly bed. So they really thought of all the things health and wellness-wise at Weston hotels. There's amenities and offerings aim to help you move well, eat well, and sleep well. So you can keep your well-being close while away. Find wellness on your next day at Weston. I have really upped my hair game. Like, I have committed to my hair more than ever, especially after having towns. I'm on the supplements.
Starting point is 00:36:21 I do a lot of scalp massage and manipulation. I went Burnett. That's been huge. And I just, like, eat a lot of meat. And I think that that's really helped with hair growth. And I'm constantly doing this passive multitask trick that works. So when I get out of the shower and I have wet hair and I'm not doing anything that day, I will put in Wella Professional's ultimate repair.
Starting point is 00:36:43 Miracle Hair Rescue. This is like a leave-in spray that's designed to work on wet hair. And I'll brush it through my hair and I'll put my hair in a sleek bun. And I will just let that sit in my hair. And Ultimate Repair is designed with key ingredients like AHA and Omega 9 that rebuild the hair bonds. This is such an easy hack, you guys. You're already getting out of the shower. You might as well comb something through your hair that's going to do the work while you're on the go. So like I said, I'll take a shower. I'll get out, I'll brush it through my hair, and I'll leave it in all day. Miracle Hair Rescue repairs your hair in only 90 seconds. So you'll notice that their bonding serum works fast.
Starting point is 00:37:25 It's a rich texture, and it works for all hair types and textures, and it's great for a sleek bun. I also have really tried to minimize the hot tools in my house, so you don't need to do any heat styling after using the product. Just put it in your hair, put it in a sleek bun, and let it sit. You can purchase Ultimate Repair Miracle Hair Rescue at Amazon and Ulta now. Let's move on to the driving gloves. I use those in my routine when I'm walking.
Starting point is 00:37:54 We already know this. I told you in the morning. I'm walking in the night. I'm walking. I have them in my stroller. I have a pair in my stroller. I have a pair in both my cars. And I have a pair in the garage.
Starting point is 00:38:06 So I'm covered in all areas. And what I love about these driving gloves is they protect your hands, but they don't cover your fingers because I want to be able to go on my phone if I'm I need to or change the station if I want to or like pick up my speaker call. I don't want fingers. I designed them to have no fingers so you could use your hands. But they do cover the tops of your hands and that's what I wanted to cover. I cannot tell you how much sun damage comes on the tops of your hands. I've interviewed so many people who are experts in skincare and they say they don't understand why people don't protect their hands. So for me, this is like a no-brainer,
Starting point is 00:38:42 put them wherever you can put them. Catherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt just posted her driving with them. She loves to drive with them. If you're in the car, too, for more than 15 minutes and you are just like driving along, you are getting incidental sun exposure on your arms and your hands that you could be avoiding. So I'm not a fan of like putting white cast sunscreen all over my hands and my arms every day. And also like, I'm making food for my kids. I don't want sunscreen all over my hands.
Starting point is 00:39:11 So the driving gloves are a good one. They're also great for like travel vacation. The next thing that I cannot live without that I failed to mention, but this is when I get into my workday after I've eaten my protein is my planner. The planner is one page. It's not overwhelming. It's very simple. It's straight to the point.
Starting point is 00:39:30 And it's basically going to allow you to put what the most important thing or things of the day are on one sheet. so you can see it so you have clarity. And I'm really into this book called Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy. And it's all about doing the hardest thing you have to do when you get into your workday. And I think this planner is really designed around that mentality of eating that frog. So if you're looking for something to get into your workday, I like to kick off my workday with a one page. I've done it every single day for the last five years, the same page.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Even when this planner didn't exist, I would. write out this one page. And how I developed this one page was I read Tim Ferriss's Tools of the Titans, and I pulled from all these different successful people things that they do and write down in the morning. So I pulled like one person did Gratefuls. One person did the Ivy Lee method. One person wrote down their book and meditation. I pulled it and I added my own spin and put it together to create this one page and it's the page that I do right when I'm starting my workday. Also, this is important. The planner is not one of those planners that just closes when it's laying on your desk. There's nothing more annoying. I like it to lay open. So it's a spiraled notebook one page to make
Starting point is 00:40:53 your life easy and your day more streamlined. The next tool is the tool that we just launched that I have to tell you about the body sculptor. The body sculptor I use after a shower. I'm already putting oil and lotion on after a shower, so why not kick it up a notch with the body sculptor? This I designed because I had cellulite after I had Zaza. I mean, I had cellulite my whole life, but the cellulite took it to a different level after I had a baby, especially on my ass and my thighs, and I wanted something to break it up. I tried every single body sculptor that there was on the market, and all of them were like 2D. I wanted something that was 3D to really grip, and it made so much sense for the skinny
Starting point is 00:41:37 confidential to take the depuffing and sculpting situation to the body. So we worked with a designer to design for a woman's ass, legs, arms, every little facet of this tool is going to upgrade your body routine. Again, I don't want to make it overwhelming. It's like you're already taking a shower. You're probably putting oil and lotion on afterwards. Just implement the body sculptor with that oil and lotion. If I'm using a body oil with it, I use an agent Natura. I love that brand. Or pellicures body oil. They're both very nice. The last tool that we have wanted to tell you how we use this one too is something you don't use daily, but you could. And that is the women's facial razor. I have been shaving my face every inch of it since I was in high school. It does not grow back
Starting point is 00:42:28 thicker. It makes your skin glow. It exfoliates your skin. I can't say enough good. things about it. But the reason I created the skinny confidential razor is because I was using those cheap razors off Amazon and they were spreading bacteria on my face because I would use the same razor over and over. And you literally have to like throw them away after one use. So I created a razor where you can pull the heads off. So you're not spreading bacteria, which is really nice. So you have this beautiful silicone handled razor that's not available anywhere else on the market. It's so, it's like so superior and chic. I'm sorry, but it is.
Starting point is 00:43:07 The razor has replaceable blades. So you can replace the blades whenever you want. And I shave my face probably once a week. I would preferably like to do it at night because I don't want to shave my face and then go outside, okay, because your skin's exposed. I like to do it at night mainly. If I do do it in the morning, then I make sure to wear a lot of sunscreen. The only other way you would use the razor in your morning and nighttime routine is if you wanted to like shave your lip a little bit.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Like if you have like a black hair on your lip or maybe you want to get some peach fuzz off, that's the only other way you would use it. I always travel with it because there's nothing worse than being in another country with a long black hair curling under your lip. So the razor to me is on my vanity just in case. It's literally in every single makeup artist that I work with kit. I have them keep it because sometimes I'll see like a hair by my nose or I'll see a hair on my lip and I'll want to shave it. And then it's in all my travel kits, my makeup bag and my skincare bag. I have like five. Okay. The razor, I would never use another razor on the market. After using this one, it really is the creme de la creme of razors. So since we went over my morning and night routine,
Starting point is 00:44:25 I wanted to show you how I integrate the skinny confidential products into that routine. Our brand is all about elevating your routine and taking it to the next level. So I thought that made sense since I've never done a breakdown on the podcast of that. And here's the deal. Don't do it like me. Do it like you. Pull what you love from this episode. Apply it to your own life and leave what you don't like.
Starting point is 00:44:52 My biggest hack and tip, though, from a routine episode is make sure it's organized and streamlined so you don't feel overwhelmed. the routines are supposed to make your life easier and to prevent stress, not to make them harder. So what I've noticed is everything that I just talked to you about to me is being preventative. It's keeping my stress down. Like even the cold plunge. I like to cold plunge. This is intense, but like four minutes at a time. And then I'll do another four minutes.
Starting point is 00:45:26 And my trainer today said, you are out of control. but he said your stress levels must be amazing because I handle so much stress in that cold plunge. He said that when I'm out working, it sort of like builds my mental toughness. And I would agree with that. These routines to me are designed to make my life easier and not harder and to optimize my day. Like I said, I'm not fucking perfect. Sometimes Zaza has a tantrum. sometimes towns is sick
Starting point is 00:45:59 sometimes I get in a fight with Michael like whatever it is like there's there's things that happen you have to adjust but it's like going back to those pillars as much as you can and here's how I would start if you have no routine pick three things that you're going to do tomorrow okay let's add lemon to the water let's take a walk outside
Starting point is 00:46:21 let's put our phone away or just listen to a podcast try just that and see how you do. I'm going to do an episode on the phone thing, but I really cannot say enough times how much taking my phone out of my morning and nighttime routine has changed my life. Listening to it has been fine. Listening to a podcast, listening to affirmations, listening to a book, whatever it is. But scrolling my phone is not the move for me.
Starting point is 00:46:54 I've completely eliminated that. and I think it has truly changed my life. And the reason that I like to do these episodes is because if one thing from this episode upgrades your routine, that's the goal. It's like, let's all share. And by the way, if you guys have any kind of hacks, DM me. I love hearing what you guys are doing. My life and my day is forever changing.
Starting point is 00:47:19 I'm not stuck in one place. Like I want to be able to be flexible with it. You guys are like, flexible. What are you talking about? But I do. I want to be able to add, subtract, delete what's not working for me. I'm in constant editing mode. My grave is going to say editing and refining. On that note, thank you guys so much for listening to Me Solo. That was fun. Shooting the shit. I am going to do an episode on red flags next. TBD if Michael's on it. But let me know if you have any specific questions about red flags.
Starting point is 00:47:56 drop in my DMs, comment on my latest post at Lauren Bostic. You can also watch all of our podcasts on YouTube. You want to visually see us. Or you can listen to us and not watch and not scroll on your phone on your morning walk. On that note, I'm out. Thank you guys again for listening. Follow us on Instagram at TSC Podcast.
