Starting point is 00:00:00 Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:00:16 What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. We need help! That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast
Starting point is 00:00:46 Post Run High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:37 It's time. It's time. It's time. It's time to wake up. DJing Angela Yeats and Charlamagne Tha God. The Breakfast Club, bitches. The voice of the culture. People watch The Breakfast Club for light news and really be tuned in. It's one of my favorite shows to do.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Just because y'all always keep it 100, y'all keep it real. They might not watch the news, but they're on Twitter. They're on Facebook. They're, you know, they're listening to The Breakfast Club. Get your ass up. Good morning, Angela Yee. Good morning, DJ Envy. Charlamagne Tha Guy. Peace to the planet. It's Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Yes, it's Tuesday. Absolutely. Good morning. Good morning. I don't know. I kept thinking it was Wednesday today for some reason. Really? I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:02:38 It feels like it's later in the week to me. Guys, I want y'all to know that people think we're leaning too far left. What do you mean? Meaning as far as the guests that we have on The Breakfast Club. I try to tell them that people from the right, we request for them to come up here. Are they requesting? No, we don't really get requests.
Starting point is 00:02:52 No, actually people hit us up and request a guest. Yeah, but nobody from the right ever has. No, no. Like Bob Hudgens, who ran for governor in New Jersey, he was like the only one. We were supposed to have
Starting point is 00:03:02 Roger Stone up here previously. He didn't come. Well, I think something happened. He was supposed to come, then he got arrested. Yes. Something came up. Something came up. Yet other plans. Something came up. Yet other plans. But I think I do have somebody from the right that actually wants to talk a little bit. Who's that?
Starting point is 00:03:20 I'm not going to say who they are yet, but you was in Charlotte yesterday, and Angela Yee wasn't here, and somebody from the right paid a little visit. Really? Just popped up on you? Yeah. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Very extreme.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Was the smoke aggressive? He wanted to have a conversation. I don't know. His voice always sounds like he wants smoke a little bit. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. So wait, he was in Charlotte.
Starting point is 00:03:46 I wasn't. How was I not here? Because you left. Oh, okay. It was after the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, I was here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Yeah. Okay. Yeah. All right, what you guys did yesterday? I played in the snow with the kids all day. They really enjoyed it. Played in the snow. If you call shoveling the snow, playing in it.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Let me tell you something about you little badass kids in my neighborhood. You just said last time, you said the kids were so good. Exactly. I ain't seen them since. Where y'all hustle at? All that snow was on the ground in the neighborhood yesterday. Why y'all ain't come through and make some money? I had a little cash on me, too.
Starting point is 00:04:13 Maybe. Just in case. Everything in Brooklyn was gone. We didn't have any issues. Yeah, maybe you paid them too little, so they went to people that paid them more. That's a damn lie. I give them kids $100. Each?
Starting point is 00:04:23 That's it? Not each, but it's only like three of them. They got to split $100? Oh, my goodness. They only charge like 20 apiece. Oh, my goodness. No wonder they went somewhere else. Nobody's listening.
Starting point is 00:04:34 That's cheap, man. If they're only charging 20 and it's three of them and I give them $100, that's a $40 tip. You're an adult. You should be giving them more money. That's worth way more than $20 something when you drive away. Y'all just talking to him. I hear you. Well, I was at William Patterson yesterday.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Shout out to Willie P. You know it's Women's History Month, so I was on a panel about women in radio. So shout out to Mina and to Sky Landish. Okay. That's what I did. I have a lot of panels this month just because I am a woman in radio. Okay. A woman in radio.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Yep. I have another one this weekend. All right. Well, Londell McMillan will be joining us this morning. We'll kick it with Londell. He is the owner of The Source magazine. And he's also an attorney. He was an attorney for Prince. He was an attorney for Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 00:05:19 He's an entertainment attorney, one of the first persons that looked at one of my contracts when I signed. Did he get you a fair deal. Yeah, we'll kick it with Londell, alright? And we got front page news. What are we talking about, Yee? Well, the largest single winner Mega Millions jackpot has come forward. Guess where this person's from? South Carolina. The crib.
Starting point is 00:05:36 We'll tell you all about it. Alright, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. This is The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this.
Starting point is 00:05:52 It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm Jackson I. King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Starting point is 00:06:08 The Waikana tried my country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a racket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Bullets. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. You know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout? Well, that's when the real magic happens. So if you love hearing real, inspiring stories from the people you know, follow, and admire, join me every week for Post Run High. It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves, for self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like, Grace, have grace with yourself.
Starting point is 00:08:27 You're trying your best, and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Yeah, man. Morning, everybody. Y'all ain't even say rest in peace to Dylan McKay, man.
Starting point is 00:08:46 We're about to do that right now. Oh. In front page news. Okay. All right, well, let's get in some front page news.
Starting point is 00:08:50 That's not his real name. Yes, rest in peace to Luke Perry. He was 52 years old. He passed away. He actually had a massive stroke on Wednesday
Starting point is 00:09:00 and then he passed away on Monday morning after never recovering from that stroke. We know him from Beverly Hills 90210. Dylan McKay! As Dylan and he also is on Riverdale
Starting point is 00:09:10 alongside Molly Ringwald. So rest in peace to him. Really sad. He was a heartthrob when he was on 90210. He was the coolest. That was a great show. I didn't realize that show was on for 11 seasons. I just know it was on for like a long, long time. Most of my damn childhood. I remember it was
Starting point is 00:09:25 90210 and then Melrose Place. And how'd he pass? He had a stroke. A stroke. 52 years old. Y'all better take care of yourselves, okay? You get to a certain age, the clock could be ticking. Alright, now somebody has finally come forward to claim the Mega Millions jackpot. This person is the largest single winner
Starting point is 00:09:41 jackpot winner ever. Now that winner is a $1.5 billion jackpot. They are from South Carolina. That's right. Drop on the clues bombs for whoever that is in South Carolina. And they did the smart thing and remained anonymous. And they collected the cash option of over $800 million. Well, you can do that in South Carolina, right?
Starting point is 00:09:59 You can't do that everywhere. No, you can't do that everywhere. Any way you can remain anonymous, remain anonymous. Don't let these Negroes know you got money. Now, they had announced the winners October 23rd, but this person just came forward. You have 180 days from the date that they draw those numbers for you to come forward and claim it. He's smart. He's like, I don't want to bring the heat to myself.
Starting point is 00:10:16 I know everybody waiting to see who goes and collects this money. Let me wait a couple months. Let's see I double A pass and all-star and all that other stuff that distracts Negroes, and then I'll sneak in there and get my money The state of South Carolina also gets $61 million In income taxes And the school's still going to be trash Even though that money's supposed to go to make this education system better
Starting point is 00:10:35 Alright now The San Francisco Giants CEO Larry Bear Is taking a leave of absence Video surfaced last week Where he is taking something away from his wife Pam And he knocks her to the ground during that time.
Starting point is 00:10:47 He has acknowledged that his behavior was unacceptable. Now, according to Pam Bear, she said she had taken her husband's phone and when he tried to take it away from her,
Starting point is 00:10:55 the chair that she was sitting on tipped over and a previous foot injury prevented her from regaining her balance. Yeah, if you ain't seen this video, this is classic.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Your wife or girlfriend picks your phone and you're fighting for your phone back and you're fighting for your phone back, and you're going to do whatever it takes to get that phone back, and she fell over. Meanwhile, you should just take the L. And he's older, too. What age do you think he is?
Starting point is 00:11:13 Oh, I have no idea. He's got to be close to 70. His age, but I can't believe that at that age, I don't want to have to wrestle for a phone. Yeah, like 70 years old, you still wrestling for your phone? 70 years old, if you're still wrestling for your phone, you ain't learning a goddamn thing. Goodness gracious. All right, you should be a part of this fateful black old, if you're still wrestling for your phone, you ain't learning a goddamn thing. Goodness gracious. You should be a part of this faithful black male association. He don't sound black, though.
Starting point is 00:11:29 You should be a part of this faithful male association. Show Charlamagne the video one time. Show him the video. Start it over, Revolve. Play it one time. That's him. He got the phone from her. He left on the floor. Didn't even help her up. What was in the phone? There he goes. Give me my phone. Give me my phone. He got on the floor. Still takes the phone and walks away.
Starting point is 00:11:45 He's not even trying to make sure she's okay. No. He's like, man, I cannot let you see this young man I'm sleeping with. All right.
Starting point is 00:11:52 All right, we're going to use that. That's what that is. That's what that was all about. That's going to sound great later. He got a young boyfriend or a young girlfriend,
Starting point is 00:11:59 one of the two. He was not letting his wife see that phone. Goodness gracious. All right, well, that is your front page news. All right, get it off your chest. 800-585. Goodness gracious. All right. Well, that is your front page news. All right.
Starting point is 00:12:06 Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you're upset, you need to vent, hit us up right now. Maybe you were flying all day because the flights were delayed and canceled because of the weather. Or maybe you feel blessed and you just want to spread some positivity. Starting point is 00:12:39 Hello, who's this? This is Kofi from Columbia. Hey, Mama, get it off your chest. Hey, DJ Envy, the other week I called and was talking about my daughter's YouTube channel, Skylar Love, and you asked me what was the latest toy. Yep. And today I have the latest toy. Okay, what was the latest toy? You should be letting your kid do it in order to promote her YouTube page,
Starting point is 00:12:57 but who am I to tell you how to market and brand? She's four. Okay, and? She's just playing with them online, man. She's not talking about them. But go ahead. No, the latest toy is on her YouTube channel online, man. She's not talking about them. But go ahead. No, the latest toy is on her YouTube channel. Go to Skylar Love and look at it.
Starting point is 00:13:09 That is smart. That is smart. You showed me. You had it. Yeah, I showed you. That's right. Okay, so everybody go to Skylar Love, S-K-Y-L-A-R-L-O-V-E, and look at the latest toy on YouTube.
Starting point is 00:13:22 There you go. I thought you were about to do her work for her. Yo, G. Yeah, you know, this is G from the Brick City. Oh, we ain't heard from you in a minute. I thought you was in jail or something. No, I was on vacation with my white friend. What?
Starting point is 00:13:36 I'm actually calling because, you know, I'm down with the black men on moves, you know, the black men on teeth movement, and I wanted to show my beautiful wife some love because she just started her own clothing line, Oh, I like that. What is it called? Legacy? Legacy Collection. Legacy Collection.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Yeah, tell me what you think. I love that. I love seeing a brother celebrate his queen, big me what you think. I love that. I love seeing a brother celebrate his queen, bigging up his queen early in the morning. That's great. And you're not even in the doghouse. Is her name Charmaine? What? Come on.
Starting point is 00:14:14 No. Oh, I'm looking. Legacy collection by Charmaine. I'm trying to figure it out. No, no. Her name's Amanda. It's A Legacy Collection. A Legacy.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Okay. Usually you got some slander from the Breakfast Club. No slander this morning. You good? No, it's all love. It's 2019, baby. All right. Goodbye, man.
Starting point is 00:14:33 How long y'all going to keep saying it's 2019? I guess it's 2019 over, right? Yep. Good morning. Hey, Salem. Hey, y'all. Hey, is Ye there? I'm right here.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Oh, you must not have got arrested, Salem. Hi. That's another story. Hey, guess what? Thank you for sending me the recommendation, by the way, for the hair. I sent an appointment already. Oh, you did? Good.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I'm glad. Get your curls back. Now, what's up, Salem? Yesterday you called and said you thought you were going to get arrested because you lost your license. And you got warrants. Drop on the clues box for me. I paid it. Oh, I'm paying it currently.
Starting point is 00:15:02 See? See? My prayer works, don't it? Okay. You see how my prayer works, don't it? Okay. You see how my prayer works? No, no, because after you did that, all your little trolls came on my DMs talking about, that's what you get. Charmaine, what do you give me?
Starting point is 00:15:13 They were getting trolling on me. They made it seem like I was broke and being thirsty for some money, and I was just like, no, and even accepted it anyway. You didn't ask me for no money. That's why they just made it seem like Charmaine said he gave me that money. Oh, my gosh. I was just like, y'all are some trolls. How much is your fund?
Starting point is 00:15:30 It was like $1,200, but they made me pay like a 30% or something for a down payment and then continuously go there. But I found out I had two extra other warrants, so I need to fix that as well. Oh, my God. What is going on? It's all for traffic. It just doesn't make sense out here. It really doesn't. Pay your here. It really doesn't. Pay your tickets.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Yes. And we question. Answer. Did wifey get pregnant? I don't know. We find out today. Why are you blowing stuff up, man? Well, clearly you talked about it.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Exactly. Clearly she knows something. You talked about it. Yeah. How is that blowing it up? You talked about it. I'm so crazy. No, today's the day.

Starting point is 00:21:45 Don't be trying to holler at her I'm going to be honest with you You got your damn mind To give away your number On a radio station Heard by millions of people That's alright That only people
Starting point is 00:21:53 Are going to call about houses Nobody wants a house though There you go I'm willing to do it There you go My block game is strong Your block game is Alright

Starting point is 00:22:15 What's up? Envy, Angela, and Charlamagne. Good morning. What's happening, brother? Good morning. I'm calling, man. I'm a professor. I was actually hired as the youngest professor at Bowie State University.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Now I'm at a community college in Baltimore. I just want to spread positivity and education to the kids, man, and take advantage of your shifts, man, relationships, mentorships, and friendships, man, to get ahead. Okay. I like that. Well, thank you, brother. Yeah, I appreciate y'all, man.

Starting point is 00:22:56 What's happening? I've been trying to get through for the past two weeks. I've been in real estate school, and I've been wanting to tell you, though, when y'all talking about flip housing and everything, there's a lot more information that these people out here really need to go out and get. And you can do that by getting your license. A lot of people might end up in mortgage fraud if they don't do so. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:23:14 Absolutely. I tell people to Google, read a book, and like you said, get your license. If you got the time, go get your license. Yeah, for sure, for sure. I paid $450, and this is my second time taking the course. I took it like three years ago, and I was on that stupid stuff, you know what I'm saying? Relationships, BS, and all that
Starting point is 00:23:32 crazy stuff. But nah, this year, I actually did it. I paid for it. You know what I'm saying? I'm getting it, too. I just wanted to let the whole city know. Also, shout out to Tri-Cities High School, Tennessee State University, and Rich Crab the Band. Okay. All right, brother. You got a lot accomplished. All right Tennessee State University, your rich crowd of bands. Okay. All right, brother.
Starting point is 00:23:46 You got a lot accomplished. All right, man. That way. Get it off your chest. You got to stop saying young boy sling. I was repeated after him. He just said that. He just said it so awkward.
Starting point is 00:23:56 I repeated after him. That way. You don't repeat it. That's the point. One person says it. You're supposed to go that way. I was going that way. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:24:02 I'm going that way. That way. That way. Not that way. Jesus Christ. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. Yee, we got rumors on the way? Yes.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Kodak Black, he's coming for Lil Wayne. We'll tell you what kind of firestorm this ignited. I don't even understand. What's this about? All right. We'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:24:18 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. What's happening? What's going on? Let's get to these rumors.
Starting point is 00:24:30 Let's talk Kodak Black. This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee. Rumor has it. On The Breakfast Club. So listen up. Well, I don't know what was going on, but Kodak Black was at the club. He was at Live, and he said this on the mic about Lil Wayne. Hey, what the way you know?
Starting point is 00:24:51 What the way you know? Man, you should have died when you was a baby. Whoa. What did he say? You should have died when you was a baby. I thought he said he should have died when you was in Vegas. I can't understand what he was saying. Oh, you should have died when you was a baby.
Starting point is 00:25:03 That's harsh. Let's hear it again, because I want to make sure. He said it like six times. Little Wayne, little Wayne. Man, you should have died when you was a baby. He definitely said baby. Oh, Little Wayne is a goat, and he should be respected as such. Even if you don't like his new music, you can't erase what the man has done.
Starting point is 00:25:19 His place is cemented in hip-hop history. But if you think these kids care about your resume, you crazy. Well, Reginae cares. Little Wayne's daughter went on social media and said, you crazy. Well, Reginae cares. Lil Wayne's daughter went on social media and said, you new lil rappers need to start giving props
Starting point is 00:25:28 and respect to the GOAT. My father don't bother nobody. He won't even react to what was said. This man be in his own world, so leave him TF alone. You picked the night he didn't go to live
Starting point is 00:25:37 to say that? You bold. And then she goes on to say, don't tell me stay out of it because that's my father and you MFs don't give him his credit and it's a shame. This M.R. Ho album sound like my daddy old-ish.
Starting point is 00:25:48 I mean, she right. But like I said, these kids don't care about your resume. You know what I mean? I'm not mad at what Kodak did. It's not necessary. But he's entitled to his opinion, I guess. I mean, it's harsh. He should have died when he was a baby.
Starting point is 00:26:00 I don't even know what that means. I guess he's saying he wanted him to be an abortion. And I'm sure anybody's daughter would be upset. So Regine, of course, reacted. Yeah, but it's rap, though. It's still hip-hop.
Starting point is 00:26:08 Well, Kodak Black... There was no rap part of that. It ain't rap. Yeah, I don't know what that had to do with rap, but... We're going to stop acting like Tupac didn't...
Starting point is 00:26:14 We didn't grow up in an era when Tupac said his enemies make sure his four-foot make sure the kids don't grow up. But they have beef. Here's what Kodak Black
Starting point is 00:26:20 said on Instagram to try to clear it up. Get off my trip. Me and dude had a whole song together. Then his little bald-haired daughter like, you feel me? First of all, nobody ain't say nothing about your daddy. So don't be coming at me like that. I ain't no shorty.
Starting point is 00:26:33 I ain't no peewee. I ain't no peeing. I'm in a club. They talking about dude's safe. Pull up on you and come show you some love. So not a club. By the end, I say, what the way in that? That's why y'all trying to make a scene like that? Some crazy s***.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Does he even know that he said he hopes Wayne doesn't seem like he did? I don't know. That's what I'm saying. They're not beeping, so it didn't make sense for him to go on the mic and say that. I feel like Kodak and Wayne did have a little issue back then. They did. I think Wayne acted like he didn't know who he was. Exactly. And that's how it all started. But clearly they did a song together after that. He said
Starting point is 00:27:01 Lil Wayne said he was about to pull up to the club. So it doesn't feel like they still have any issues. Now, Toya jumped in, and on that post, she put, boy, F you. That's real. That's mama. And then Kodak responded to Toya, if I ain't have no girlfriend, I'll F the ish out your fine ass. You got to understand, we're in a different era. Okay, we're in a very different era.
Starting point is 00:27:23 All these guys got to be very careful, because you're going to fool around and get jumped by a whole family. All right? You attack somebody's daddy, next thing you know, the child coming. You cause a ball-headed. Why do you call Reggie they ball-headed? You fool around and get jumped by a whole family. Y'all worried about Clicks and Crews. You better worry about Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and the kids, man.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Now, what did YFN Lucci say? Because that's his girl now. He hasn't really said nothing yet. I think they had him on live talking about it, and he at first acted like he didn't hear it, but somebody else was saying F Kodak. I don't know. Listen, I'm not in it. I'm just reporting what happened. This is very dumb, by the way.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Alright, now, congratulations to the former Today host, Tamron Hall. She is pregnant and expecting her first child with her husband, Steve, and she announced this yesterday. Now, she's 48 years old. She said, I've wanted to share this news for many months. Tamron is 48?
Starting point is 00:28:08 Yep. My God. Dropping the clues, Martha Tamron Hall. Out here aging like wine. Wow. She said, I've wanted to share this news for many months, and now finally my doctor has said I am in a safe place at 32 weeks to share my joy with y'all. So it's clear a daytime talk show isn't the only thing I've been trying to produce.
Starting point is 00:28:25 And she said, there's been many tears, but today I embrace the smiles. My husband, Stephen, and I are beyond excited. We're in constant prayer. So if you pray, add us to your list. If you meditate, send calmness our way. And if you believe in luck, we'll happily take that too. Will do. Salute to Tamron Hall.
Starting point is 00:28:40 So congratulations to her. You know, I did this talk for Black Women in Tech with Kenya Moore, and she just had her first baby, too, at 47. So congratulations to her as well. I wonder if these women are freezing their eggs, or are they doing it in vitro, or is it just natural? I'm curious. I'm sure there's a combination. Some people are able, and they said as you get older,
Starting point is 00:29:01 there's more of a chance that you'll have twins, too, naturally. All right, now Will Smith, they've made an announcement that his Overbrook Entertainment is partnering with Star Thrower Entertainment. They're producing a movie based on the life of Venus and Serena's dad, Richard Williams. The movie
Starting point is 00:29:18 is called King Richard, and it's going to talk about the trials and tribulations he faced raising these two young, amazing athletes as their coach. And he had no experience with the sport. And it's also going to touch on the 78-page plan that he made when his daughters were four years old and how they became athletes after that. So Will Smith will be playing the dad. Will and, his name's Richard, right?
Starting point is 00:29:39 Yes, King Richard is the name of the movie. Will and King Richard look nothing alike, by the way. That's one of those things where they went to Richard and they said, who do you want to play? He's like, Denzel. Then he was like, well, Denzel's not available. Will Smith. But you know what?
Starting point is 00:29:49 You never know because there's a lot of times that people have played people in movies and they really became that person. So who knows? I didn't think he looked like Muhammad Ali. No, he definitely looked like Ali. But in the movie he did. But I'm saying before I saw that movie, I wasn't thinking he looks like him. That's true, too. More of a resemblance to Ali than King Richard. But I'm saying before I saw that movie, I wasn't thinking he looks like him. That's true, too.
Starting point is 00:30:05 More of a resemblance to Ali than King Richard. But yeah, we'll see what they do. With all the makeup and stuff, I'm sure. The magic of the movie. You have to wear blackface. All right, I'm Angela Yee, and that is your Rumor Reports. All right, thank you, Miss Yee. Now, when we come back, we got front page news.
Starting point is 00:30:20 What are we talking about? Well, is there potentially a cure for HIV? We'll tell you about a second person who has experienced sustained remission. Who was the first? Magic? Dropping the clues, bouncing Magic Johnson. Damn it. They don't have him reported as the first person. Alright, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:30:36 The Breakfast Club. Hey, what up, y'all? It's DJ Envy. I know you heard about the hot new Samsung Galaxy S10. It's an absolute game changer. Pre-order yours through March 7th and get a pair of Galaxy Buds for free. And if you pre-order on Samsung.com, you get up to $550 for eligible trade-ins. The Samsung Galaxy S10, be the first.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Morning, everybody. It's DJ MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get some front page news. What are we talking about, Yee? Well, is there a cure for HIV right now? Yes, Dr. Seabee said yes. A second person has experienced sustained remission.
Starting point is 00:31:12 That person is called the, quote, London patient who has been cured of that viral infection. About 37 million people are affected worldwide. Now, there was the first patient, patient about 10 years ago, known as the Berlin patient. Both patients got stem cell transplants from donors who had a rare
Starting point is 00:31:30 genetic mutation and that person has now been in remission for 18 months since he stopped taking the drugs. So we don't even have to take drugs anymore. If they come up with a cure for HIV, that means they're cooking up something else. They made enough money off HIV, it's time to move on. Yeah, but Dr. Sebi said a long time ago
Starting point is 00:31:46 he had the cure, and he was actually giving people a cure, and he had a big ad in the newspaper, and they tried to sue him, and he beat it. So obviously he had the cure or knew how to cure it. Well, Magic Johnson also had the cure.
Starting point is 00:31:58 Exactly. Allegedly, he went to Dr. Sebi. I don't know how true that is, but that's what they see. All right. Once again, Donald Trump has served his fast food at the White House. They got McDonald's and Chick-fil-A. That was the champion
Starting point is 00:32:09 North Dakota State Bison football team showed up, and that's what they served. He said, we could have had chefs, we could have, but we had fast food because I know you people. Y'all gonna hate on the man? Can't really hate on Chick-fil-A. Come on now. Was it Chick-fil-A? I know you people. Yes, it was. No, I see, oh, it was Chick-fil-A too. It was Chick-fil-A. You can't really hate on Chick-fil-A.
Starting point is 00:32:26 I see McDonald's and Chick-fil-A. Okay. What does he mean when he say you people? I don't know what that means. You people that like Chick-fil-A? I know you people. No, listen, because last time he did this, everybody gave him flack and the one thing everybody was saying was... No Chick-fil-A. He at least could have got Chick-fil-A. So now he's been following social media.
Starting point is 00:32:41 He know you people. I don't see a problem with it. All right. Y'all be mad at Free Chick-fil-A. Come on now. Let's talk about in Sacramento, California. They had protests over the shooting of an unarmed black man by Sacramento police. If you guys have been following that story about Clark, Stephon Clark, who got shot and killed last March.
Starting point is 00:32:59 He was only 22 years old. Police thought he had a gun, but he was really holding a cell phone. Well, they did have demonstrations and protests last night, and they said over 80 people were arrested, including those people. There was also a reporter who was arrested. Now, the mayor said he was upset about the reporter's arrest. He said no matter what precipitated this order to disperse, no member of the press should be detained for covering a protest. So that's what they're saying about that. Now, somebody has come forward from South Carolina.
Starting point is 00:33:26 They are the largest single winner, mega-million jackpot winner. So congratulations to this anonymous person. As they should remain anonymous. They will have a press conference. I guess whoever their legal representation is is going to have a press conference
Starting point is 00:33:41 once the payment is processed. And that payment after taxes and everything of that $1.5 billion mega-million jackpot is going to have a press conference once the payment is processed. And that payment, after taxes and everything, of that $1.5 billion mega millions jackpot, is going to be $878 million. Look at God. Dropping a clue to mom from my South Carolina bread truck. Now, the store gets $50,000 for selling that winning ticket. Of course, the state of South Carolina,
Starting point is 00:34:00 they end up getting $61 million in income taxes from the winner. I always thought that the Powerball was supposed to go to the education system in said state. I'm not sure. I don't know where it goes to. That's what I always thought. So $61 million going to South Carolina. The school's still going to be trash. Well, we shall see.
Starting point is 00:34:17 But yes, that would be great for the school system. All right. Well, that is your Front Page News. All right. Thank you, Ms. Yee. Now, when we come back. Yes. Listen, we've always historically gotten a lot of flack for only having people from the left on.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Okay, liberals, Democrats, but that's who requests to come on the show. We rarely get conservatives, people from the right that request to come on. There's only been two, actually. What was the guy, the governor of Jersey, who was running? Bob Huggins, Bob Hudgins? Hudgins. That didn't work out well for him. Yeah, that didn't work out well for him. He lost. He did. Roger Stone was supposed to come up here, but he got arrested. That didn't work out well for him. Yeah, that didn't work out well for him. He lost. Roger Stone was supposed to come up here,
Starting point is 00:34:47 but he got arrested. That didn't work out for him either. He ended up getting arrested. It didn't work out. It's not like we are opposed to having the other side on, but they just don't come on. But today we have... I don't think they look at it like this isn't their base or something. Who do we got? We have a black man who loves Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Really? Yes, he is a self-proclaimed racist. Kanye? And radio host. Kanye's not a racist. Oh, I know, but you said he was like Donald Trump. He's not a radio host. This guy is also the leader of the fastest American populist Republicans. And he's a county executive for Woodcrest County, Maryland.
Starting point is 00:35:21 And you may know him from the classic TV show The Boondocks. Okay. So he's a fictional character? Shut it. He's not fictional. I'm tired of you. Okay. Thinking everything is fiction.
Starting point is 00:35:32 All right. This is a real person. A real cartoon. His name is Uncle Ruckus. He'll be joining us. Uncle Ruckus? Yes, he'll be joining us next. Is that the same guy
Starting point is 00:35:40 that plays the basketball game with Kyrie Irving? No, that's Uncle Drew. Uncle Drew. Every black person with gray hair don't look alike. All right, all right, all right. Uncle Ruckus, when we come back, it's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Morning, everybody. It's DJ, MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. This is a little different for us. We got a special guest on the line. Yes, he's the leader of the fastest American populist Republicans, and you may know him from the classic TV show, The Boondocks, but let him introduce himself.
Starting point is 00:36:09 How y'all doing? This here is Uncle Rock. There's no relation. Uncle Rock. Charlemagne nigga. First of all, I don't trust you, number one. You done took the name of a good old white French man and using it for your own d***dry. But that's what black people do. We flip and bounce things. You know what I'm saying? We take things that may not necessarily be ours.
Starting point is 00:36:27 You know what I'm saying? You can stop right there. You take things. That's what n***a's known for. The taking, the taking, the taking. Who's took more than the white man that you worship, sir? Charlamagne, you're making a fool of yourself right now. Lord, the white man has given us so much.
Starting point is 00:36:42 And right now he's giving us his greatest gift of all. Mr. President, Mr. President Donald Trump. The greatest gift anybody could ever receive. Okay, I was going to ask you, what do you think about the job that Donald Trump has been doing as President of the United States? Stella! Stella! The best thing
Starting point is 00:37:00 we've ever gotten. You take a man who made all these promises. He's going to build a wall, and look at it, most of the wall already up. He's helping out the colored folks everywhere. Colored folks ain't never been happier than they is with Donald Trump right now. That is not true. He, what?
Starting point is 00:37:15 I mean, contrary to your popular belief, you are colored, but I mean, like, you know, you're probably one of the few people who like Donald Trump, sir. First of all, I am not colored. I am a white man. I happen to be struck with something called Revitaligo. It's that same thing that Michael Jackson, that child molester, had, but in reverse, okay?
Starting point is 00:37:33 Second of all, colored people is enjoying the times of day lives. What are you talking about? How? Look in your bank account, Charlemagne. Look at all that money Donald Trump done put in there through the tax cuts. The thing is, I'm blessed to be able to make a living, but that doesn't mean that everybody is as blessed as I am when it comes to finances. So it's a lot of things that Donald Trump is doing that just aren't good for the country.
Starting point is 00:38:02 I feel like hate crimes are at an all-time high. Racism and bigotry is at an all-time high because of Donald Trump, sir. Bigotry? I think you mean bigotry is at an all-time high. There ain't no bigotry going on under President Donald Trump. He done cured racism. We in a raceless society right now. The only bigotry and n***a you see is what you're doing to yourself. Case number one, Mr. Jesse Smollett.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Now, there's a n***a who paid a n***a to beat him. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy seeing any black man get beat down by another black man. But he brought that on to himself. If you look around you right now, you'll just see smiling, smiling colored folks living the dream, living the life that they've always wanted to live. And because of one man, a man whose heart is as big as his hands. What do you think about Mr. Cory Booker?
Starting point is 00:38:51 Even ****** don't like Cory Booker. He look like, what's that ****** fella from Key and Peele? The tall, light-skinned. Oh, Key. Yeah, that's Key. He look just like Key. As a matter of fact, I think it's just Key pulling a little fake out on everybody. F***ers don't even like Cory Booker. Okay, what about Senator Kamala Harris?
Starting point is 00:39:10 Now, Kamala Harris, I'm going to admit something to you. I didn't even want to admit. From the behind view, she look like a fine white woman with that nice chocolatey hair from behind. But when she turn around, you see that the n******ery is strong within Kamala Harris. Oh, she thinks she's slick
Starting point is 00:39:27 because she locked up a bunch of black folks, throw them in jail, and got on the good side of us Republicans. But I can see through her. What is she? What was she made up of? What countries went together to make that woman? Jamaican. India, if I'm not mistaken.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Dated thehole countries. Anything else? Oakland. Yeah. The dirtiest s***hole of all. We know that Kamala Harris ain't got a chance in hell. I'm going to ask you about some other Democratic candidates. What about Bernie Sanders?
Starting point is 00:39:59 Look, here's what y'all s*** need to do. First of all, if you're looking for a Sanders, y'all may as well be voting for Colonel Sanders. Because that's the only way he's going to get any vote. He is a crazy man. Health care for all. Now, that would be fine, except the colored folks are going to take it. If it did not include colored folks, then I would just think it's fine. But to be honest with you, health care for all, what does that mean?
Starting point is 00:40:22 People are going to live longer. That means colored folks are going to live longer. We do not need a world where colored folks are out here living as long as a good white man. Colored folks are supposed to do what colored folks did in the past. Die about age 53. You're done. Leave it over to the white man to take care of. So I assume you just think Donald Trump is a shoo-in for 2020.
Starting point is 00:40:39 It sounds to me like you don't think he has no competition on the other side. There has never been competition for Donald Trump. Donald Trump is the kind of man, when the doctor tried to pull him out of his mama's vagina when he was being born, he said, no, thank you, Mr. Doctor. I can do this myself. Do you think he grabbed his mama's vagina on the way out? Don't do that. You know, that was something that somebody set up to make it sound like Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Plus, I got to be honest with you. If I was a woman, the first thing I would do, I would call Mr. Donald, President of Mr. Donald Trump's up. And I would say, excuse me, sir, if you have time, would you like to come and grab my vagina? To have your vagina grabbed by somebody as great as Donald Trump is one of the biggest gifts that any woman could receive. But I don't think he did it. But if he did, it would be one of the biggest gifts that any woman anywhere could ever receive. No, that's actually called sexual harassment, sir.
Starting point is 00:41:29 Sexual assault, brother. Not when it's done by somebody as good as he is. Would you let him grab your d***? Excuse me? I said would you let him grab your d***? I guess I would. That don't sound wrong, but I guess I would. Okay, Uncle Rob.
Starting point is 00:41:48 I actually never thought about that before. I'm just saying that if Donald Trump came to me and said, this is a case of national emergency. In case of a national emergency, may I grab your... May I grab your... Then I suppose I would... For our country, for our country, I suppose I would let Donald Trump grab my d*** in case of a natural emergency.
Starting point is 00:42:09 All right, when we come back, we got more with Uncle Ruckus. So don't move, it's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. We have Uncle Ruckus in the building. Charlamagne?
Starting point is 00:42:24 Something tells me you was very jealous when you saw Kanye in the Oval Office hugging on Donald Trump, calling him daddy. I will be honest with you. When Kanye did that, I thought he may be the smartest colored man I have ever seen in my whole life. MAGA, my n***a. MAGA, my n***a. That's all I could think about.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Do you think America is ready for a woman president, Uncle Ruckus? No, sir, I do not. Women don't have the mental facilities that a white man has. Lord have mercy. White men can think about so many things at a time. I don't know if you know anything about bumblebees, but bumblebees got complex eyes. They can see in all kinds of different ways at once.
Starting point is 00:43:01 White men's got complex brains. They can see things you couldn't possibly see with their little negro brain. The white man is omnipotent. The white woman is not. The colored woman is not. But here's the hierarchy for president. Gotta be a good white man. Then, second,
Starting point is 00:43:18 if ain't got no good white man, then a good white woman can take place with the guidance of a good white man. Third, nobody else. Barack Obama proved that a colored man cannot run a country. That is not true. Barack Obama was one of the greatest presidents of all time, sir. The white side of Barack Obama did all right.
Starting point is 00:43:34 The n***a side f***ed us up. Something's wrong with you, Uncle Rutgers. Ain't nothing wrong with me. I'll tell you one thing. I've been working for Trump for a while. Trump sent me to Hawaii to find Barack Obama's birth certificate. I'm the one who found Barack Obama was a Nigerian or a Cancunian or whatever the hell. He's not Nigerian or Cancunian. He's from Kenya.
Starting point is 00:43:55 He's a Cancun. How do you feel about Nigerians since the Jussie Smollett situation? You got a country, Nigeria, that's basically got the way in the name. We already know where they coming from. Have you ever watched Empire? No, sir. I do not watch colored shows. What's your favorite show on TV, then? Fox News. Cause they speak nothing
Starting point is 00:44:14 but the truth. They don't even know how to lie. This is Uncle Ruckus and he is actually black, but he will not admit that he's black. I don't know why you keep saying that. You know what's interesting? You know, it's interesting. You've always thought that R. Kelly was guilty. What do you think about him getting charged
Starting point is 00:44:28 with 10 counts of sexual abuse? First of all, you shouldn't do what he did. But second of all, at least he had the common decency and sense not to make love to or piss on any white children. And that I appreciate. So with that said, you probably hate Michael Jackson then. I am not a fan of his.
Starting point is 00:44:45 I do think that nature is not kind. Nature gave Michael Jackson, that little child molester Michael Jackson, nature gave him vitiligo, which made him go from being a colored man to a beautiful, beautiful white man. And here I am with the exact opposite. I am not pleased that nature messed me up like that and did something good for a child molester and could not help me out. So I'm a little bit jealous of Michael Jackson. Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 00:45:12 No, don't say Jesus Christ without saying good white Jesus Christ. What about Joe Biden, sir? Joe Biden, for a while, I thought he was something. He was a decent white man. Then he went and worked for that damn Barack Obama, that Kenyan coon. Look at him. He was a sidekick to a colored man. I just don't understand how you love Donald Trump when he lies so much, bro. Donald Trump has never lied. Tell me one lie Donald Trump ever said. If you tell me a lie that Donald Trump ever said, I will kiss Kamala Harris straight on the lips.
Starting point is 00:45:44 Straight on. I'm not even going to sit here and waste my time because saying Donald Trump is not a liar is indeed a huge lie. Oh, you can't think of nothing. Oh, you thought enough to have your birth certificate named to a French name but you can't think of nothing because
Starting point is 00:45:59 Donald Trump has never lied in his whole lifetime. You just lied about the whole Barack Obama being a birther is a lie. Barack Hussein Obama. He was not born him. I'm surprised he's even able to put some English language together. What do you think about, you know, Donald Trump's administration having over 30 plus indictments, sir? Oh, I'm sorry, but how many does Donald Trump have?
Starting point is 00:46:22 Zero now. That's exactly right. When you got somebody as pure-hearted as Donald Trump, he like Jesus Christ. Remember how Jesus Christ surrounded himself with people who was beneath him, like prostitutes and stuff like that? Donald Trump is like that. He said, bring me your pole. Bring me your hungry. Bring me all of that stuff as long as they want.
Starting point is 00:46:44 That wasn't Donald Trump that said that. Yes, Donald me your hungry. Bring me all of that stuff as long as they're white. That wasn't Donald Trump that said that. Yes, Donald Trump said that. Bring me all them people as long as they're white. And he surrounds himself with some now do well's and never do well's. He surrounds himself with that. But that is only to lift them up and help them. There's an old poem about Donald Trump. There's a man walking on the beach.
Starting point is 00:47:03 And the man only see one pair of footprints. And the man says, excuse me, I thought you was going to be there for me. Where's your pair of footprints? And Donald Trump said to the man, those are my footprints. I was carrying you the whole time. That was God, not Donald goddamn Trump, Uncle Ruckus. You just said his middle name, Donald God Trump. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Donald J. Trump. The J stands for Jays. When was the last time you talked to Trump, Uncle Ruckus. You just said his middle name, Donald God Trump. Okay? Donald J. Trump. The J stands for Jesus. When's the last time you talked to Trump, man? I know you work for him. I talk to him every day. I give him a call sometime. We'll be laughing about something that we see on color, like a color news show. Like, oh, another black man found guilty of doing whatever black folks
Starting point is 00:47:41 do, and we'll laugh about that. Charlemagne, don't you feel happy that we great again? Shut up, Uncle Ruckus. I want to end with this question. Yes, sir. What do you think about some of the Democratic candidates
Starting point is 00:47:53 saying they agree with some form of reparation for African Americans? Let me tell you something. I do believe in reparations. Really? I believe in it. That's a surprise. For the white man.
Starting point is 00:48:06 The white man, he brought y'all over here in a fine ship. He gave you a meaningful day's work. He gave you food to eat. He gave you exercise. And what have y'all given him? Oh, look at that. You gave him crime. You gave him drugs.
Starting point is 00:48:22 O.J. Dam Simpson and Whoopi Goldberg. That's what y'all gave him. He deserves him drugs. O.J. damn Simpson and whoopie gold bug. That's what y'all gave him. He deserves reparation. I suggest this. I suggest all y'all after y'all get off from work today, if you got a job, I suggest you start by the check cashing place and cash your check and then send that money straight to Donald Trump and he will delve it out over the white nation.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Now I am reminded why we don't really have people from the right on too often. This is Uncle Ruckus. He's a racist author and radio host. Yes, I am. He's the leader of the fastest American populist Republicans. I actually gonna start calling myself a race. I'm not racist.
Starting point is 00:49:00 I'm gonna be raceless because there's only one race and that's the white race. And I guess I should congratulate you on being the county executive for Woodcrest County, Maryland. Yeah, that would be nice. I do have a new position in Woodcrest. The white folks have trusted me and entrusted me to run their country, run their county, and to make sure that colored folks stay exactly where they belong, out of sight. Uncle Ruckus, have a blessed day, sir.
Starting point is 00:49:23 You too. Hey, I got my... Good morning, everybody. It's DJ MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne the guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning. Well, see, we got somebody from the other side on this morning. Okay?
Starting point is 00:49:38 Mr. Uncle Ruckus. So y'all can't say we don't have conservatives and people from the right on. The other side. Yes. Uncle Ruckus is currently trending in the U.S. right now. Salute to everybody who's just getting familiar with Uncle Ruckus. Yes.
Starting point is 00:49:54 Well, we got rumors on the way, Yee. What are we talking about in the rumors? We are going to talk about Wendy Williams. She made her return to her daytime show yesterday. So find out how that went. All right. We'll get into that when we come back. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Morning, everybody. It's DJ MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to these rumors. Let's talk Wendy Williams. It's about time. What's going on? Rumor report. Rumor report. This is The Rumor Report with Angela
Starting point is 00:50:22 Yee on The Breakfast Club. Well, amidst all these rumors of what could have possibly been happening with Wendy Williams and her husband, Kevin Hunter, and why she's not been on television for so long, why she had to take this long hiatus, what's really good, all these stories coming out, Wendy Williams made her return to The Wendy Show. And here's what she had to say about her marriage. Marriages have ebbs and flows marriages are not easy and don't ask me about mine until you see this going and it ain't going anywhere it's weird doing hot topics and
Starting point is 00:50:55 being a hot topic you know what I mean but what I love about our show is that you've given me permission to be me and what I love about me is I am fearless to give me you. You know, that would have been a great time to really talk about what those trials and tribulations have been, those ebbs and flows, so people could really relate to that. Well, see, the problem with not being authentic and the problem with not living your truth is that
Starting point is 00:51:16 next time when it's somebody else's situation, whether it's some guy cheating or some marriage not working out, she won't be able to talk about it because she said that since people can't talk about her, she won't be able to talk about it because she said that since people can't talk about her, she shouldn't be able to talk about anybody else's, right? That's what I would think, right? It's hard. And she said she's
Starting point is 00:51:31 taking her thyroid medication. She's meditating. She's going to the gym seven days a week for two hours a day and spending time with her family. So, according to Wendy, everything's good. I don't know what goes on in their household, so I can't say. But she said everything is good. So all of these rumors, I guess, are allegedly just that.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Her husband, Kevin Hunter, is a terrible human being, and I hope Wendy Williams wakes up before she doesn't wake up. All right, now 50 Cent has gotten permission to move forward with his malpractice lawsuit against his former lawyers. He says those lawyers cost him $32 million against Rick Ross's baby mother. If you remember all of the issues that were happening with the leaked sex tape
Starting point is 00:52:12 and the case that was brought by Rick Ross's child's mother, Lastonia Leveston, he did lose that case. 50 Cent said he had to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after he was hit with a $7 million judgment over all of that. Well, now he's able to sue and say it was malpractice on his lawyer's behalf. So we shall see what happened. The judge believes there were three witnesses in the case that should have been interviewed as they could have possibly had information, which would have reduced the damages that 50 Cent had to pay.
Starting point is 00:52:40 But because of that lapse and all of that, the judge did side with 50 Cent and say that he can continue his legal war. So on the bright side of things as well, 50 Cent is going to be teaming up to do this Sex, Money, Murder series. If you're excited about that, he's really into this TV thing. He's doing it. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:52:59 He's doing well in it. Right. He's working with Oscar winner Nicole Rocklin and that series is inspired by investigative journalist and author Jonathan Green's book Sex, Money, Murder, A Story of Crack, Blood, and Betrayal. And see, everything about 50 doing is on brand, from power
Starting point is 00:53:13 to BMF to sex, money, murder. It's all street. It's all gangster. Why not? It's all 50. Yeah, so good for him. Alright, now Robin Roberts has spoken out about her Jussie Smollett interview. She did an interview with the Cuts How I Get It Done. And she said, she told them, I don't want to sit down with him if he's going to lawyer up.
Starting point is 00:53:39 And she said she was told he wants to speak with you because he was outraged by people making assumptions about whether or not it had happened or not. That a homophobic and alleged racist attack that happened. And she said she was promised that she could challenge him on some of the red flags. They said he wants to say things he has not said. And Robin Roberts said, as a journalist, as a news person, this is newsworthy, he's going to go on record for the first time. Yes, I'll do the interview. Now, after the interview, a lot of the staffers at ABC said they were skeptical of his story
Starting point is 00:54:02 and everything started two and a half hours later than it was expected. She said she didn't know what he was going to say and all of that, but she did try to be as neutral as possible and she also felt pressure to represent the LGBTQ community. She said, I'm a black gay woman. He's a black gay man. He's saying that there's a hate crime. So if I'm
Starting point is 00:54:20 too hard on him, then my LGBT community is going to say, you don't believe a brother. If I'm too light on him, it's like, oh, because you're in the community, you're giving him a pass. She said it was basically a no-win situation for her. Why can't people just be neutral and tell all the facts are out? Why does everybody have to rush to do interviews? Why does everybody have to rush to say something? Why can't everybody just sit back and let things play out the way they are?
Starting point is 00:54:40 Well, I guess for her, this was her getting firsthand information from the person who was involved. So she thought it would be something true. Factual, right. So it makes sense, but it didn't work out the way that she thought it would. Sure didn't. All right. Now, Pharrell, he's doing his Something in the Water Festival. I'm excited about this.
Starting point is 00:54:57 That's going to be in Virginia Beach, April 26th through April 28th. It's a three-day event. Seems like it's going to be pretty dope. Yep. I mean, Allen Iverson's going to be there, Missy Elliott, Dave Matthews Band, Ella Fitzgerald. He said some of the most gifted artists, athletes, and scientists to ever live are from
Starting point is 00:55:11 Virginia Beach. He said the people in Virginia are one of a kind, uniquely gritty, bold, and brilliant. So he's talking about people that are from there. I'm sure Allen Iverson's going to pop up there, right? I'm sure. So it's going to be Missy Elliott, Migos, Pusha T, SZA, Janelle Monae, J Balvin, Lil Uzi Vert, Diplo.
Starting point is 00:55:28 So many people are going to be on this. We've got to have Teddy Riley. Travis Scott is going to be there. Now, I don't see Teddy Riley on here yet. They've got to have Teddy. Really dope if Teddy Riley is going to be Pharrell and Friends, so maybe he's going to bring out Teddy Riley for that as a surprise. Who knows?
Starting point is 00:55:44 But it looks pretty exciting. Travis Scott will be there, Jhene Aiko, Anderson.Paak, It's going to be Pharrell and Friends, so maybe he's going to bring out Teddy Riley for that as a surprise. Who knows? But it looks pretty exciting. Travis Scott will be there, Jhene Aiko, Anderson.Paak. Trap Karaoke is going to be there. Okay, dropping the Clues Bonds for low-key in the game. All right. I like to see stuff like that. So, should be good to go.
Starting point is 00:55:58 All right. Tickets are available starting Friday, by the way. I'm Angela Yee, and that is your rumor report. All right. Thank you, Ms. Yee. Charlemagne. Yes. Who you giving that donkey to?
Starting point is 00:56:12 You know, man, I keep trying to tell y'all that the safest community in the world is the faithful black male community, but some people have to learn that the hard way. So I need San Francisco Giant CEO Larry Bear to come to the front of the congregation. We'd like to have a word with him, and this is a very teachable moment. All right. Do you feel at peace this morning, Envy? Yes. You feel at peace, right? I'm at peace.
Starting point is 00:56:28 I know you're at peace. You could leave your phone home this morning if you wanted to, right? Absolutely. I wouldn't have no problem. No problem. Face up, phone open, don't matter. Except people like to have their phone on them. Let's be real.
Starting point is 00:56:39 It's just easier. Let's talk about it for after the hour. All right. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. Hey, what up, y'all?
Starting point is 00:56:48 It's DJ Envy. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe owned country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong?
Starting point is 00:57:39 No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a racket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh, my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help!
Starting point is 00:57:51 We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. So if you love hearing real inspiring stories from the people you know, follow, and admire, join me every week for Post Run High. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step.
Starting point is 00:59:35 And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best.
Starting point is 00:59:54 And you're gonna figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We got a special guest in the building and friend to the room, Londell McMillan. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Soul Power 30 is out, man.
Starting point is 01:00:20 Always controversial because everybody has their own opinions on who should have been in what slot, who didn't make it, who shouldn't have made it. So we are going to talk about that this morning. Thanks for having us. Thanks for having us. Yes, sir. Now let's talk about the Power 30. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 01:00:34 You want to start with the big list? The big list. The big list. Number one is QC. QC. What do you think? I don't. I see that.
Starting point is 01:00:42 I don't think I disagree with that. Yeah, I can see that. I agree with that. Okay. I don't think I disagree with that. That's see that Okay I don't think I disagree with that That's fine That's good But it's a little weird though
Starting point is 01:00:47 A label, a management company They got the biggest artists But the weird is listening to me Because it goes QC Then it goes YouTube music Then it goes Drake Then it goes J, Diddy And I think Spotify
Starting point is 01:00:59 Like it's kind of I don't know It's interesting to see artists Bigger than the platforms That they're on Right You know what I'm saying? Right Well it's because It, I don't know, it's interesting to see artists bigger than the platforms that they're on. Right. You know what I'm saying? Right. Well, it's because it's a culture list. It's what impacts the culture, the power
Starting point is 01:01:12 within the culture. And how strong and powerful would a platform be without the artists and the creative content? True. How did Jay-Z and Diddy feel about being after Drake? This year. But if you're talking about overall power, I don't think you can put Drake in the same conversation as Jay because Jay is obviously way more powerful overall,
Starting point is 01:01:30 and Tidal is not something that just happened this year. Tidal's been something that's been going on for several years, and it's still struggling to actually make it happen, if we're really being honest about it. What do you mean struggling? Meaning their numbers don't compete anywhere near with Spotify and Apple and iTunes in terms of the
Starting point is 01:01:49 subscriptions. Are those numbers inflated? I've heard that they said a lot of those numbers were inflated sometimes. I think everything in the entertainment business is inflated. People come up here and I just see all these people saying what they're doing and how they're doing it.
Starting point is 01:02:06 They're all inflated. They're one big PR hype. You know, I heard some of the guests up here and I was like, wow. Wow. Who in particular? Steve Stout. Oh! It's good to see that Steve Stout has finally, after 20 years, come to our side of artists and ownership and masters
Starting point is 01:02:25 before they were the masters' man. Before they were the masters' man. Yeah, I asked him that. And now all of a sudden they want to unite the masters of the artists. That's stuff that I've been saying for 20 years. So what do you think about major labels and what Steve Stout has to say? Because labels would tell you that they do help artists as far as putting together a whole team, marketing, promotions, getting them to a certain point.
Starting point is 01:02:46 Like with Cardi B, Cardi B, where she is right now, without having signed to Atlantic, if she would have signed to United Masters. Well, I think, you know. What is it? I think, you know, for over 20 years, Prince and I were out front talking about own your masters. I met him when he had a slave on his face. We were the first to go up on the internet that was major and sell directly to the consumer. But there is a role for labels.
Starting point is 01:03:13 In fact, if you look at the Power 30 list this year, you'll see a number of the labels high up on the list because they made a transition. They realized that their strength is not through distribution because that's digital technology. But they bring marketing expertise. They bring promotion expertise. They bring a whole kind of history of how to make it happen. So there's a role for that. But now all of a sudden, the people who were
Starting point is 01:03:39 the, I would say, overseers of that system are now moving out and trying to create new systems. And I think it's just quite interesting and full of hype. So I just look at it and I go, wow. I look at it and say, wow, really? Well, I mean, I asked Steve that exact same question. I'm like, you benefited off this same system for years. It's like, do you think he could see the light
Starting point is 01:04:01 and start trying to treat artists the way they should be treated? I mean, the conversations of some of these same people flip-flop when it's time for them to make investments or make moves. And so that's why with respect to power, money, and respect, they're not all the same. People try to attain them, but money, power, and respect is different. I can recognize you have power, but don't respect you. Because your values are just a little flip-floppy to me. You know, you're not consistent.
Starting point is 01:04:32 Is that how you look at Steve's though? Well, I don't want to put Steve directly in the mix. I actually do respect Steve, but I understand that he's a marketer. He's number 28 on the list, by the way. He's on the list. We put him on the list. Because you have to respect his hustle. But I'm not sure that we have the same values.
Starting point is 01:04:50 In fact, I know we don't. What values don't you think he has? No reason I'm asking because Steve is somebody that's very influential in the industry, and I'm just asking. Steve is influential in the industry. I actually remember when I told him to first start reading the Wall Street Journal when he was running around there with a kid in play. I might look a little younger than younger, but I'm 52. I'm 52. So I go way back. I go way back when I introduced Leo Cohen to Doug Morris when he was still in Varick Street. You know, so when certain people in the culture
Starting point is 01:05:19 who are the leaders in the culture used to sit in my law office lobby waiting for Prince tickets. And now they're the leaders of the culture. So I go way back. I've seen a lot. You know this, Envy. I remember when you were coming up. And I'm so proud of everybody. I'm so proud of everybody, how they're going.
Starting point is 01:05:35 But, you know, I chose to reinvent myself in a different way because I believe that we have to stop just being part of the process of the pimping. And now because of social movements and marketing like Black Lives Matter and other things, which I believe came after I helped Beverly Bond with Black Girls Rock. Those ladies got that rhythm of the Black Girls Rock, Black Lives Matter. Shout out to Beverly Bond. It became a social marketing movement. And now the conversation of black power is easy to have a conversation.
Starting point is 01:06:13 People are okay with having a conversation. But what about putting in the work and owning black businesses? Right. What about putting in the work and owning distribution? Sales. I mean, putting in the work, not just being the sauce. Didn't Prince own a distribution label? Yeah, we distributed it directly.
Starting point is 01:06:33 When we say label, we made the calls. You got to put in the calls. You can't be mad at those in industry, whether they're white, purple, green, when they're putting in the work. And they're mad because you're giving them all the sauce. You can't mad and then with that said there are a lot of allies regardless of the color there are a lot of allies who are white and just because you black don't mean that you're you're someone that we need to be supporting absolutely you can be a culture vulture and be black you'll be a culture vulture you'll be manipulated by the culture. You know, this is not new. There are people in the house going way, way back.
Starting point is 01:07:08 So it's a continuum. Absolutely. Londell, you have a daughter who's an artist. Would you want her to sign to a major label? Wow, shout out to Kylie and Manny. Not now. And by the way, I'm not against labels. I'm against bad business and bad systems
Starting point is 01:07:24 because the contract is what you negotiate and how you put it together. But she's an artist, and we're doing it independently because I don't want a lot of the industry label stuff to infect her as a young lady. I want her to be healthy. And so when she gets older and she can make that decision, I'll have to defer to her.
Starting point is 01:07:45 But I wouldn't object to a joint venture or partnership where you have control. Do you try to not bring her with you places so you're not given that stamp so people don't affiliate you guys with each other? Kind of, sort of. I think she should make her own name, but she's doing really, really well. Her music is doing really, really well as a, you know, 15, 16, 17 year old girl. And I think that I come with a lot of baggage, both good and bad. And when you represent people for justice, people are not going to always be happy with you, you know. And I'm a truth teller, at least as I see the truth.
Starting point is 01:08:25 I don't manipulate and change up. You know, I'm not going to, you know, write a book one year, five years later, come out with a business that's almost completely contradictory to what I just said. You're throwing a lot of shots at Stout. The tanning of America? He said that, though. He also said that, too. He said he feel like he started that change five years ago with his book
Starting point is 01:08:47 that's what he said you know i just think i think a lot of it is just quite frankly you know buffoonery you know and i don't respect it you know and then you know we start a whole movement about ownership and freedom we go talk to master p we go talk to Master P. We go talk to Cash Money. Everybody calls us rebels, ridiculous. You know, my man writes slave on his face. We get him out of all of that, change the whole business model. And then when he's dead, you give credit to the dead man and you don't give credit to the movement that actually started what we're doing. But I get it. I get it. We did that in music. Now I'm coming for media. We have more with Londell McMillan when we come back. But I get it. I get it. We did that in music. Now I'm coming for media. We have more with Londell McMillan when we
Starting point is 01:09:28 come back. Of course, he's from the Sauce Magazine. He was also an attorney for Michael Jackson in Prince. So don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. We have Londell McMillan in the building, of course, owner
Starting point is 01:09:44 of the Sauce Magazine. Now, you know, radio, you put us number one on radio. Yeah, I didn't put you number one. You put yourself number one. Let's give a shout out for that. How many years in a row is that? That's five. Now let's talk why. Why is the Breakfast Club number one? Well, again, you know, we look at
Starting point is 01:09:59 the stats. We look at tech and taste. We look at the technology of it as the numbers. The numbers speak for themselves, right? You guys, you know, we look at Nielsen. You guys in 90 markets doing over four plus million, you know, weekly. You know, your numbers are just through the roof. You got platforms and partners all over the place because your demand is so high.
Starting point is 01:10:22 People want to be in business with The Breakfast Club. You guys raise the bar from the music and the culture. You talk about it with respect. You guys are knowledgeable. You guys also can be comedic, controversial, but not just for controversy. Raising the bar, social issues, political, civic issues. I mean, really, you guys personify what the essence of the source was
Starting point is 01:10:44 20 years ago when it came out of Harvard, you know, and these people said that we got to rep the culture and also add social, political, civic content that inspires a community. You guys really do that. And you guys don't hold back. You know, I watch y'all expressions. Y'all weren't smiling and jiggy booing when Senator Sanders was in the room. Y'all weren't acting like you're just so happy that the famous white man was here in your presence. You guys treated him with respect. And you guys actually engaged.
Starting point is 01:11:19 And that's what I respect. I think one thing I would say with each member of the Breakfast Club is we try to teach our community, whether it's Charlamagne teaching about TV and how to EP and some of his stuff in his book with mental health and some of that, and Anjali with her juice bars and me with the real estate. I think we figured out that's the most important thing to create that so other people don't
Starting point is 01:11:38 fall in our pitfalls and make the mistakes that we made and try to benefit so they can start from the beginning. Because I wish some of the knowledge that I had now, I had at 21. I had at 22. I had at 16. And that's what we're trying to teach these individuals. Yeah, I think we teach, this generation is teaching the own.
Starting point is 01:11:52 And our generation was taught to work. Correct. You know, I think it's a difference. 100%. When we start talking about ownership, I'm not saying everybody leave their day job or leave their main job. So I'm talking to the to your audience. Do both. Leverage both until you're in a position to have your own business.
Starting point is 01:12:12 Or use the platform you have to build your own businesses. Or use the platform you have to build your own business. And not everybody's built for being a business owner. Right. You know, sometimes it's great to be part of a group that's being owned in the way you are and being a valuable member or an indispensable member. That's why I tell everyone, well, you own your own. I want to own my own. I said, that's great. But be in a position where you can own your own and be successful or learn and contribute to something or get stock options.
Starting point is 01:12:43 That's another thing I want to share and tell people. I want people to know that if you're working for a company and you're bringing value and you feel that you are not being respected or you feel that you're not getting what you deserve, approach ownership and say, look, I'm bringing value and be specific about the value. And then say, you know, I would like to talk to you about a stock option plan. How can I become a beneficiary of the growth that I'm delivering for your company and for your business?
Starting point is 01:13:16 I'm not asking you to give me equity out the gate, but I am asking you to recognize what I contribute. And if I give you sweat equity and we grow and I hit certain metrics, then I feel I should deserve a piece of the pie. So that's something I wanted to share with people. You know, you don't have to always invest your money and have everything. You can sometimes say, I've invested my time. I bring tremendous value. I want to be compensated beyond just the day-to-day check because you can be terminated at any time in most jobs. And I like to have a stock option of participation. I do want to shift gears for a second and talk about Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 01:13:57 Yes. Because I know you have a lot more information than the average person would about Michael Jackson. And this whole Leaving Neverland documentary on HBO. So I want to know your thoughts on that. Well, obviously, Michael Jackson was very close to me. I represented him about five years, five years before he passed away. And I didn't represent him as much.
Starting point is 01:14:22 I was one of his lawyers the last two years when he went to California. And Michael had asked me to be his manager. But because I was so involved with so many different people, and that's not really what I do, I chose not to, and I wrestle all the time with whether or not I should have done that to try and protect him from all of the vultures and all of the rumors and all of the the the things and from himself because he had a big big heart you know I think sometimes people when they become so popular and powerful they're not people around them that just keep it real and keep it honest, but keep it loving and say, hey, we're not doing that. That's not going to play out well.
Starting point is 01:15:09 And obviously, I think he was a victim of that. And what about Source 360? When is that going to be this year? 360 this year is going to go to four markets this year. They're all going to come in August, September, and October. We're expanding out of New York and into Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, as well as New York. We're going to do New York. So we may move it from Brooklyn this year because we've been there five years and take it to Harlem.
Starting point is 01:15:34 And I think it's important for us to kind of support what's happening in Harlem. And so we're excited about all those things. And, again, we'll keep you all posted and keep you guys in the loop with everything that we're doing. And, again, continue to do great work. Thank again, we'll keep you all posted and keep you guys in the loop with everything that we're doing. And again, continue to do great work. Continue to be allies. And make sure you get the Power 30. Well, it's Londell McMillan. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:15:54 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Leaving Neverland. She's spilling the tea. This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:16:15 Well, Leaving Neverland Part 2 was on HBO last night. And then, as you know, Oprah was on afterward interviewing James Safechuck and Wade Robson, as well as having other people who are survivors of abuse in the audience. So let's start with what happened in part two. Now, one thing we did find out was that Michael Jackson did buy a house for James Safechuck's family after he testified in Michael Jackson's favor. Here's what the mom had to say. My husband had already had a deposition.
Starting point is 01:16:49 We were on Michael's camp. My son also for Michael. And after that was all said and done is when Michael forgave the debt. Michael said, no, I don't want you to pay me anymore. It's a gift. So he did buy us a house. It's just coincidental. He wasn't buying us off.
Starting point is 01:17:10 But the timing's right there. Yeah, that's when the boy was five years old. They needed a loan, and Michael Jackson gave him a loan. And then he forgave the loan. And then after he did that, he was just like, here, the house is yours. That's when he was five, or like seven or something like that, a young boy. Now, James Safechuck also talked about going in to testify on behalf of Michael Jackson
Starting point is 01:17:27 and the first time he talks about meeting with the lawyers and having like a rehearsal and mock interviews so that he knew how to answer certain questions. He said they told him the investigators would tell him they had photos of what happened but they didn't actually have anything so just tell them no because they don't have
Starting point is 01:17:43 any photos. Just make sure you deny everything because they can't prove it. Well, the second time that Michael Jackson wanted him to come in and testify, here's what he said happened. When he asked me to testify, I said no. And he got really angry at me, and he threatened me. He threatened me with his lawyers and said that I had perjured myself years ago and that he has the best lawyers in the world and that they were going to get me. And I just said, I don't want any part of it.
Starting point is 01:18:11 You'll hear nothing from me. Don't worry. I was just trying to calm him down to get him off the phone. All right. Now, Wade Robson also speaks. That guy, Jimmy, he didn't testify the second time because he said he knew it was wrong. And he said that he knew that other boys were probably getting touched and assaulted, so he just couldn't see himself to do it.
Starting point is 01:18:33 He said he knew better, so he definitely did not want to testify the second time. And you can tell yesterday when Oprah was interviewing him, he's bad. He's in therapy now. His mom's in therapy. He still doesn't forgive his mom for allowing him to sleep, to spend the night at Michael Jackson's bad. He's in therapy now. His mom's in therapy. He still doesn't forgive his mom for allowing him to sleep, to spend a night at Michael Jackson's house. You could tell that he really went through it. You could tell that he's still suffering.
Starting point is 01:18:52 He's still suffering. Alright, now Ray Robson was on and he discussed his last sexual experience with Michael Jackson as he was preparing for his History World Tour. He said he was 14 years old at that point. He had a major growth spurt. He was like 5'11",
Starting point is 01:19:06 so he might have been the same height as Michael Jackson or maybe even taller. He said the whole physical vibe was just different, and here's what he said happened. Right away, he just went right into it. He was kind of super nervous and said, What did you do with your underwear from last night? I said, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:19:24 I took them off and showered and put new ones on he said you got to go home and find them there might be some blood on them if there is you got to get rid of them now let me explain that so the young boy uh the young man the 14 year old he was actually home he just had a spent the night with michael jackson and allegedly michael jackson uh tried to penetrate his butt and You couldn't wait to say that. No, it's not. It's the truth. He couldn't penetrate his butt and it was very difficult. It was painful for him. It was painful so
Starting point is 01:19:51 he tried to get a little bit of it in and couldn't get it in so the boy went home and I guess Michael Jackson realized that he might have blood in the underwear and allegedly called him back, rushed him back to where he was and said you need to throw out that underwear. He didn't realize his butt was bleeding in the moment? He said it was just a little bit of blood. And so he did look for his underwear and found that there were some little spots of blood in it.
Starting point is 01:20:11 And then he had to get rid of the underwear. Listen, it just means an extra quiet for this documentary. Like, I think it is. Well, let me finish going through some of what happened in case you missed it. That way, Robson also talks about why he testified in defense of Michael Jackson for a second time. I remember all of us sitting at dinner and Paris, his daughter, just wanting her dad's attention. I remember that, just feeling really sad. What if he loses? What if he goes to jail?
Starting point is 01:20:39 And these are the last couple of times that they see their daddy, which built my conviction even that much more to save him. All right. Now I'm going to skip ahead to Oprah, right? Because Oprah did talk and she did interview these survivors, these who survived these allegedly from Michael Jackson's abuse. And she also had some victims as well, some survivors as well in the audience. And here's why Oprah said she did the Michael Jackson interview. She's been getting a lot of flack for it. People have been threatening her.
Starting point is 01:21:08 Here's what she said. In 25 years of The Oprah Show, I taped 217 episodes on sexual abuse. But for me, this moment transcends Michael Jackson. It is much bigger than any one person. This is a moment in time that allows us to see this societal corruption. It's like a scourge on humanity. So if it gets you, our audience, to see how it happens, then some good would have come of it. Why not use somebody whose story is less sketchy, though? Why not use somebody whose alleged victims are more credible? Why not use somebody who is alive? That's why I think it's
Starting point is 01:21:47 quiet for this doc, because with R. Kelly, it was like, no doubt. We always knew this, and it's more than enough evidence. But with this one, we're like, eh, something's not right. Well, she interviewed the two individuals that said they were assaulted by Michael Jackson, and they also said the reason they did the documentary and did not ask anybody else
Starting point is 01:22:04 and did not, you know, talk to anybody else, you know, even his estate, was because they said the only people that knew what happened behind that closed door was these young men and Michael Jackson. Well, that's not a documentary then. In a true documentary, you've got to show both sides. Well, there is no other side because Michael Jackson did. But you mean you can use the lawyers that represented Michael Jackson? Well, let's say the only people that would actually see it and were there was just Michael Jackson and these young boys. But if you watch... Oh, no, that's all the more reason it's one-sided then.
Starting point is 01:22:29 Because if the only people that's there to tell the story is the victims and the alleged perpetrators, the alleged perpetrators is dead. I mean, that's the reason why they said they didn't talk to anybody from their state. Well, Oprah did question a lot of their motivations and a lot of things that you might have had questions about is, you know, why did you want to still continue to work with that? You got to watch it in order to see how they answered those questions. Did they apologize to Jordan Chandler on that documentary? Did Oprah ask about Jordan because... She did ask about that. And what did they say?
Starting point is 01:22:56 I'm not going to lie, I saw her asking that, but I was half asleep while I was watching it. You know what I'm saying? But she did ask about it. I did see her ask. Because if what Wade and Jimmy are saying is true, then they made it to where another young man didn't get justice. So what about that saying? But she did ask about it. I did see her ask. Because if what Wade and Jimmy are saying is true, then they made it to where another young man didn't get justice. So what about that kid? They did apologize for that, and they said that they wish they spoke out sooner.
Starting point is 01:23:13 There's a lot of different things. They made it seem like, I guess, before the news, that the father actually committed suicide because he was guilty of that. But in the story, he didn't commit suicide because of that. He committed suicide, I think, really, because he lost his family and he was going, he was bipolar. That's what they're saying. It's, it's, it's, it's a lot. Yeah, you kind of have to watch it in order, because I know a lot of people were wondering, why would she do it? Did she ask these questions?
Starting point is 01:23:35 Right. What were their answers? And you have to see it. And I guess I got to catch up because I was beat yesterday. All right. I'm Angela Yee, and that's your rumor report. All right. Revolt.
Starting point is 01:23:43 We'll see you tomorrow. The People's Choice mixes up next. Let's go. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy'm Angela Yee and that's your Rumor Report. Alright, Revolt. We'll see you tomorrow. The People's Choice Mix is up next. Let's go. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, shout out to our very own Angie Martinez. She's going to be co-hosting Page Six TV
Starting point is 01:23:57 all week long. That's at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on Fox 5. And I will keep saying this over and over. If I don't see Angie Martinez every day on somebody's TV soon, then I don't know what the hell this TV world is doing. There's no reason for Angie Martinez not to have her own daytime show or be a part of one of them ensemble shows like The Real, Art of View, or something.
Starting point is 01:24:17 Angie Martinez is incredible on television. Drop one of the clues bombs for the legend Angie Martinez. Absolute. Okay. All right. When we come back, we got the positive note. Don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Is your country falling apart?

As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.

The Source has made us number one on the Power 30 radio list for the past five years in a row. I think we've earned that. So salute to the Source magazine. Man, I learned when he came up here, he said that he was hoping it wouldn't be us again.
Starting point is 01:28:01 That's dope, though. Listen, I be feeling the same way. Come on, Londo. Yeah, but that keeps you from getting comfortable. You know what I'm saying? When you know that there's other people out there that's on your heels or other people out there that's providing competition.
Starting point is 01:28:12 That's why I like when all of these morning shows throughout the country are dope. Because when all these morning shows throughout the country are dope, it really makes you earn your spot. You know what I mean? And morning radio is very competitive right now. Starting point is 01:28:50 in the faithful black male community, man. Throw your power fist up. Throw your goddamn power fist up, Envy. Don't do it slow, either. Why are you asking? He black. She ain't a man. I'm not in the party.
Starting point is 01:29:01 Are you stupid? Envy, I'm not a man. You're dumb. Oh, my God. Why are you asking if he's stupid when you know the answer to that question? I'm not paying attention. Real men stay faithful. So why you don't even know why you're throwing your fist up?
Starting point is 01:29:11 I know I'm not listening. You just said put my fist up. This is the positive note. Okay, positive note. All right? Uh-huh. Real men stay faithful. They don't have time to look for another woman because they're too busy looking for new ways to love their own.
Starting point is 01:29:22 And if their fist is still up, one part of loving their own is getting it up their butt with that same fist. See? I knew it was something. I knew it was something. See? I knew it was something. I put my fist down, by the way. I knew it was something. You ain't got no fist up right now, I just want to tell you.
Starting point is 01:29:36 No, I don't. Breakfast club, bitches! Y'all finished or y'all done? Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this.
