Or maybe not.
No country willingly gives up their territory.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.

Good morning, USA. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yoall feel? Sisters, y'all all right? Good morning. You all right? Good morning, everybody. Yes.
It's a Friday. Weekend is here.
I'm excited about today.
I got my power back last night.
Because I got my power back last night. Yes, indeedy.
Oh, y'all didn't have no power power.
Yeah, no, we didn't have no power. Well, we had, you know, I got a generator, but the generator only does the,
I was saying yesterday, just does the hallways.
It does, of course, the refrigerators, so it keeps the food good, and parts of the master bedroom.
I thought you just had your Wi-Fi out.
I didn't know you was, like, walking around in the dark.
No, dark, dark.
Yeah, that's what I was saying yesterday.
Having, you know, five kids with no TV, no Wi-Fi, no lights.
Oh, my goodness.
You talk about.
You needed that yesterday
because the Versus Battle was on.
Cardi B and Meg Thee Stallion put out their new WAP video.
There was a lot going on yesterday.
Mm-hmm.
WAP.
Cardi B is joining us this morning, by the way.
Did we tell y'all that?
Oh, we just got here.
We'll kick it with Cardi B in a little bit,
talk about her new project, her new single,
and everything that's going on in Cardi B's life.
Now, I believe 2 Chainz might be
checking in as well. You know, last night was the battle.
Did you guys watch it? What did you think?
I thought it was boring.
I love Rick Ross and 2 Chainz,
but I just was waiting
for the energy to come, but they didn't
bring the energy. They was too
cool for school, both of them.
Too cool for school.
They were like, we're not going to do much talking.
It's like they didn't want to sweat.
It's like they didn't want to sweat.
And 2 Chainz is always like a very animated performer.
I mean, towards the end, like around the middle,
they started to do a little, little something.
But I don't know.
I don't know if they got some amazing, exotic.
I kept hearing Rick Ross mention cookies or something like that.
Something had them looking like they were slightly stuck last night.
Let me ask you a question.
I was watching for a little bit.
It got boring, so I turned off.
Then when I came back, I see like a bunch of money on the floor.
How did the money get on the floor?
I know somebody threw it.
Yeah, strippers.
Oh, they got strippers.
Two essential workers.
Two all.
Who both were wearing masks and they were social distancing.
Okay.
Oh, that was the best.
That wasn't the best part, but there was a topic that derived from that.
And the topic was who had the best, who got the best script clubs, Miami or Atlanta.
And I was like, that's a pretty tough one, to be honest with you.
You ever been to, you know, either or?
Who got the best grip clubs?
But then I would have to throw the Carolinas in there too,
but I'm biased because I'm from South Carolina.
I think Atlanta might have it.
No, but then the Miami, hmm.
I don't know.
I mean, like I said, I don't know.
It's tough.
It's not an easy thing.
That's something you really got to sit down and get some thought to.
Who got the best real clubs, Miami or Atlanta?
If you're from either or place, you're going to be biased.
But, you know, from an outsider perspective, that's a tough decision.
All right.
Well, let's get the show cracking.
Front page news, what are we talking about?
Well, first, we'll talk about some comments that Joe Biden made.
And that is about the African-American community.
All right.
Well, let's get into this new Cardi B record.
We're playing it every hour on the hour.
They didn't tell me that.
I'm just guessing.
Is that right, Dramos?
Yes, sir.
I knew it.
I knew it.
Well, let's get into it.
It's featuring Megan Thee Stallion.
It's WAP.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club
that was new cardi b featuring megan estallion she's going to be joining us in a little bit but
let's get in some front page news where we starting you well joe biden was doing an interview that was
hosted by the national association of hispanic journalists and the national Association of Hispanic Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists. And they put out this interview yesterday.
And here is what the question was in his response.
Are you going to re-engage with Cuba, though?
I mean, I'm specifically wondering about, you know,
the Florida communities that are, you know,
incredibly interested in the Cuba issue
and see status given to Venezuelans
while Cubans are being deported.
Yes, and by the way, what you all know, but most people don't know,
unlike the African-American community with notable exceptions,
the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community
with incredibly different attitudes about different things.
You go to Florida, you find a very different attitude about immigration
in certain places than you do when you're in Arizona.
Boom, get off the stage.
Listen, people got mad at Diddy when he told folks to hold their vote,
but the reality is if there is a 2020 black voter boycott,
it's being led by Joe Biden.
Okay, he is the organizer and leader of said boycott if there is one
because there is nobody encouraging black voters to hold their votes
and stay home more than him,
because of dumbass comments like that.
Well, Joe Biden went on Twitter and
tried to clarify. He said earlier today, I made some
comments about diversity and the African
American and Latino communities that I want to
clarify. In no way did I mean to
suggest the African American community
is a monolith, not by identity, not
on issues, and not at all. Throughout my career, I've
witnessed the diversity of thought,
background, and sentiment within the African-American community.
It's this diversity that makes our workplaces, communities,
and country a better place.
My commitment to you is this.
I will always listen.
I will never stop fighting for the African-American community,
and I will never stop fighting for a more equitable future.
Now, Donald Trump, of course, seized upon this moment
to say this about Joe Biden.
Joe Biden this morning totally disparaged and insulted the black community. What he said is
incredible. And I don't know what's going on with him, but it was a very insulting statement he made.
You know, I would respect it more if Joe Biden just stood on what he said. Like he said it, own it.
It says a lot that every time you have something to say about black people, you end up having to clarify it.
OK, but the reality is black people are just as diverse.
But Joe wouldn't know that because the first African-American male he met that was bright, articulate and clean was President Obama in 2008.
Those are his words, not mine.
And the sad part about it is Biden, what'd you say?
I was going to say, Simone Sanders, who is his campaign advisor,
said if you look at the full video and transcript,
it's clear that Vice President Biden was referring to diversity of attitudes
among Latinos from different Latin American countries.
The video that's circulating is conveniently cut to make this about racial diversity,
but that's not the case.
I watched the whole video.
Even that, though, black. I watched the whole video.
Even that, though.
Black people don't have different attitudes.
I don't get what you're saying. The crazy part is, I can see it now.
People are getting mad.
Why is Charlamagne talking about what he has to say?
Why are you all against it?
No, we're just pointing out what we see.
Just because he's a Democrat doesn't mean we guarantee a vote.
We still got to point out the BS, honestly. That's what
it is, regardless. You can criticize
him and point out the BS because
hopefully that's what's going to make him be better, but I doubt
it because you can't teach an old white man new tricks.
Well, in the next hour, we'll talk about what Donald
Trump did yesterday in contrast
to himself. Yes, and also
the sad part about it is Biden has too many
apologists, too many bootlickers who
will make excuses for those blatantly disrespectful comments,
proving once again that he can do and say whatever he wants about black people and no one will give a damn about it.
And that's why he needs to just go ahead and announce his black woman vice president, hopefully a Senator Kamala Harris, because that's who I'm voting for.
That's who I'm supporting. Ain't no damn Joe Biden.
They need to change the campaign slogan to settle for Biden 2020 because that's all we're
doing. We're settling for
a compassionate
segregationist white supremacist
as opposed to evil
fascist.
I just want someone that's going to have some policies
that will benefit our community.
I want somebody that's going to respect our community.
Alright, get it off of your chest.
800-585-1051.
If you need to vent, hit us up right now.
Maybe you had a bad day.
Maybe you was riding your bike and got a flat tire
and had to figure out how to fix a flat on your bike last night.
Or maybe you feel blessed.
Maybe your power finally came back on.
Whatever it is, 800-585-1051.
Get it off your chest.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Is your
country falling apart? Feeling tired?
Depressed? A little bit
revolutionary? Consider this.
Start your own country. I planted

I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition.
The Waikana tribe own country.
My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong?
No country willingly gives up their territory.
I was making a rocket with a black powder,
you know, with explosive warhead.
Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go.

As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions,
but you just don't know what is going to come for you.
Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt,
learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt
the possibilities for ourselves.
For self-preservation and protection,
it was literally that step by step.
And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.
This increment of small, determined moments.
Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude,
and the power of love.
I forgive myself.
It's okay.
Like, grace.
Have grace with yourself.
You're trying your best.
And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.
Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before.
Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty
on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts. Good morning, everyone. So I'm one of the parents that actually do believe that kids should be able to go back to school.
My daughter has been in summer school for the past month, and there has been no coronavirus cases.
Her teacher actually contacted me and said she was excited to come back to the classroom with a one- eight ratio and asked me if I wanted to enroll.
And I said, yeah, I took the opportunity and I haven't had any issues.
OK, so leave them up though.
I feel you. It's a case by case thing because they're saying in certain places where
in certain school systems where coronavirus isn't affecting that community, I could see why they
would say. And I think they said if it's like under five percent or something like that,
then you can go back to school as long as you take those safety measures.
So I can understand that.
And they are taking those safety measures.
And the spring semester was a nightmare for me.
My daughter is autistic.
She had speech delay and they were not following her IEP.
They were trying to have her do some online reading comprehension that was not at her level.
And I ended up having to do her homework for her just so she,
we could finish it because she couldn't answer those questions.
She's, she's at the speech level of a two-year-old.
So wait a minute.
Did you just admit to plagiarism?
Put your hands behind your back, man.
How am I supposed to, how am I,
how am I going to turn in homework that she does not know how to do?
And she's supposed to be getting a grade for that.
So when they asked for her to go to summer school and get the extra help,
absolutely, I had her go back there and do it.
And you know what?
If it's not COVID, it's going to be the flu.
If it's not the flu, it's RSV.
If it's not RSV, it's meningitis.
There's a lot of other viruses out there that could kill you.
So you know what?
Just wash your hands, wear your mask, stay safe.
And that's part of the reason
why I don't want to bring
my kids to school
because of your thought process.
And that's not saying
that it's wrong.
I just don't necessarily
think that.
You know, just to say,
okay, well, yeah,
there's other diseases
out there too.
There's the flu,
there's this, there's that.
I get it.
I mean, she got a point.
COVID is really killing
these people
and killing these kids
and killing these older people.
And I don't want the kids
to come back
and bring it to me,
bring it to my grandpa,
to their grandparents, bring it to other people.
Well, then you can.
You can bring your kids.
That's the perfect thing about parenting kids.
But it's not killing kids like that.
Right.
But when the kids bring it home, it's killing their parents and grandparents.
That, yes.
And that's what I don't want.
But she was saying that there's no cases in your school, right?
Have a good day.
Have a good day, though.
But that's the greatest thing about being a parent.
You can decide what you want to do.
And if she wants to bring her kid to school, that's fine.
I'm just not going to.
And I think it just matters also where you live, too.
Because in some places, the cases are so high,
that feels a lot more dangerous than
places where there's no cases yeah and all it takes is one though no matter where you are she's
from california all it takes is interaction with one person that's not necessarily social distancing
and yeah spread like wildfire like it did to a lot of these old folk homes in in jersey in senior
homes and and just to be accurate children of all ages can become ill with coronavirus disease.
But most kids who are infected typically don't become as sick as adults.
And some might not show any symptoms at all.
But, you know, the problem is they can be asymptomatic and pass it on to those adults and those older people.
And those are the ones that are prone to really, you know, die from coronavirus.
And kids have died from coronavirus.
Yeah, but even the CDC says children of all ages
can become ill with coronavirus,
but most kids who are infected typically don't become as sick as adults.
That is a fact.
It's just that Donald Trump's stupid ass conveyed it so silly
when he said, kids are almost immune.
Almost immune.
My goodness.
You know, he worded it stupidly.
Yeah.
Get it off your chest.
Stupidly.
Is stupidly a word?
Sure.
Yeah, why not?
800-585-1051.

Rumor has it that Bravo is bringing back
an all-new season of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
Finally, I just looked at the trailer
and one thing is for sure,
they do not play in a pee, honey.
Don't miss The Real Housewives of Potomac
Sunday nights at 9, 8 central, only on Bravo.
This is your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or blessed.
You better have the same energy.
We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club.
Hello, who's this?
Hey, it's Kwame from Florida.
Kwame, what's up, brother? Get it off your chest.
What I want to get off my chest, the lady that called in yesterday saying that she was an 18-year professional or something and she started marching for black people and now she couldn't find a job.
Yes.
Yes.
How the hell is she going to blame black people for not her finding a job or for her because she's standing up for us that she can't find a job?
I think she was blaming racist white people.
She wasn't blaming black people, King.
She was saying that white people don't like her because she stands up for black people.
So imagine how bad black people have it.
That's what she was saying.
She was blaming systemic racism.
But how systemic racism is stopping her from getting a job?
How do these people that are hiring know she's walking and protesting for black people?
Because what she's saying is that
she's an ally to black people.
People know she's an ally to black people,
so they are preventing her from getting work.
I can see that.
Imagine you live in a town
and you're a white woman
walking around with a Black Lives Matter shirt
or going to protests with a Black Lives Matter sign
and people see you.
Yeah.
Charlamagne, guys, guys, it's COVID-19.
What do you mean?
There's nobody.
She's just using black.
No, no, no.
I want you to finish that thought.
Finish that thought.
What was you about to say?
It's COVID-19 and what?
What was you about to say?
It's COVID-19, man.
Ain't nobody really.
Everybody's worried about this pandemic.
You think somebody, a job,
someone, a CEO of a company
sitting there watching, oh, which white person
is protesting for black people so I won't hire them?
Yes, I've seen it firsthand.
I've seen white people
walk up to other white people
and snatch their signs
and tell them you're white. What are you protesting
for Black Lives Matter for?
Yes, that does happen.
But far as professionally in a job, come on, bro.
Come on, bro.
Let me tell you something, sir.
One thing you not going to make me do this morning is defend white people.
I don't want to defend white people.
Bruh, you have a good one, man.
It's Friday.
It's Friday.
Don't use our problems as a curse for you not getting a job.
It's COVID-19.
People are hiring because of COVID-19, not because you're marching for black people.
I don't think that we can sit here and say why people are not hiring her.
Thank you for calling.
I don't know.
I can't tell you that's the reason.
And by the way, I'm the type of person that I watch Fox News
because I like to see what the other side says.
I've heard Tucker Carlson and Rudy Giuliani both say Black Lives Matter
and the people who support them.
So basically he's saying you and these love us.
So, yes, I can see people getting punished for being an ally to Black Lives Matter.
It's Friday.
It's Friday.
I love it.
It's my type of Friday conversation.
Get it off your chest.
800-585-1051 if you need to
vent. We got rumors on the way, Yee? Yes, and
let's get right into it. Let's talk about
Meg Thee Stallion and Cardi B's new video
that just came out, WAP, because everybody
was watching that last night. And
I want to tell you guys about the battle
too. Let's discuss versus.
Alright, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast
Club. Good morning's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors.
Let's talk Versus.
It's time.
She's spilling the tea.
This is the rumor report
with Angela Yee On The Breakfast Club
Yes, so last night was
The Versus with 2 Chainz and Rick Ross
Did y'all watch? What did you think?
I thought it was boring
It had its moments
But for those two to have those big energetic club records
I expected better performances
From both of them
But maybe that's just me
Maybe I should have just sat back and enjoyed the music
No, it was definitely boring.
That was probably one of the ones where I tuned out,
and I was excited about this one.
It just seemed like they didn't want to beat it.
It had no energy.
It wasn't like none of the other ones we'd seen.
It was boring.
It looked like the weed was too good.
But on another note, let's talk about the actual battle
and the songs up against each other,
because I know we were having discussions on who we thought would win.
So I just want to get from your opinion, because I feel like it was a really close one,
maybe one of the closest ones as far as song for song.
I mean, listen, I said that Ross would win, but don't sleep on 2 Chainz,
because 2 Chainz has some dope music.
But nah, when you hear the music side by side, 2 Chainz is dope as hell and he deserves everything he got.
But let me tell you something, that damn Rick Ross, that Rosé, I've always said he got one of the best catalogs in rap.
But one could argue Rick Ross might be top 10 hip hop artists of all time, bro.
Top 10?
Yes.
Top 10.
Yes.
Ross' catalog is phenomenal.
You can't name too many rappers
who got a better catalog than Rick Ross.
I'm going to tell you which ones I was stuck on.
Rick Ross, Hustlin' vs. 2 Chainz, I'm different.
Hustlin'.
Alright, Lil Wayne featuring Rick Ross.
John vs. A$AP Rocky,
2 Chainz, Drake and Kendrick Lamar's F'n Problems.
John, easily.
But you know, he didn't even have a verse on F'n Problems.
He just did the hook. He just did the hook.
Yeah, he just did the hook.
He just did the hook.
Okay, Rich Forever versus Spend It.
Spend It.
Spend It.
Dice Pineapples versus Duffel Bag Boy.
Duffel Bag Boy.
Duffel Bag Boys.
Even though that's two different type of records, but definitely Duffel Bag Boys.
See, that's a tough one, though, because that's two totally different type of records.
I actually thought he was going to count counter BMF with Duffel Bag Boys
but I still prefer
Duffel Bag Boys over Dice Pineapple.
Alright, well I think it was
some rounds that I was like I'm not sure
which one I'm going with.
I thought it was good. I thought it was a good battle.
So I'm Not A Star versus Birthday Song.
Birthday Song even though I love
I'm Not A Star.
That's a tough one. I mean the impact of Birthday Song was big love I'm Not A Star. That's a tough one.
I mean, the impact of birthday song was bigger.
I'm Not A Star is the better record.
Yeah.
I'm Not A Star is the better record,
but birthday song is the bigger song.
So I don't know.
All right.
Now, here are some of the surprises that happened.
Rick Ross put up his verse that was on the song Famous,
Kanye West's Famous.
I just wanted you to know Beat takes from Kanye on my mama's stoop. For the year I've been on to become a loop. My from X in his A, say my name and here come the troops.
Hands out my pocket, I cock it and let it loose.
If Dane was building Armadale on it, then boots.
Martin Luther King's real estate was a dream.
Farrakhan's farm was one that I once seen.
And then they both debuted new songs at the end of the battle.
2 Chainz has a new song with Lil Wayne called Moneymaker.
Yeah, I shake that moneymaker. Don't let that moneymaker. the end of the battle. 2 Chainz has a new song with Lil Wayne called Money Maker. baby. It feel right, don't it? I know I'm wrong, baby. Pheromone fragrance.
Can't miss no car payments.
I kiss her earlobe.
Like what you doing, lady?
No makeup alligator.
No lens agitator.
I'm talking out your beauty.
No makeup applicator.
Drop on the Clues Bonds for Moneymaker.
Sounds like a tough tune.
And Rick Ross has a new song featuring
Finn Matthews, Pinned to the Cross.
Let's empower the snow.
But I see pain we haven't found, man, it's not all beautiful.
Drop on the Clues bombs and pin it to the cross.
Somebody please go check on Van Jones and Terry Crews.
What's happening?
Wait, okay, I understand what he said, obviously, about Terry Crews.
What did he say about Van Jones?
I feel like he's telling Van Jones to become a janitor.
It sounds like he said, go get a broom.
I can't tell.
I can't tell exactly what he's saying.
I don't know.
It sounds like he's saying, go get a broom.
Like, go get a broom.
You never pass any laws.
I don't, which isn't true, by the way. I mean, Van Jones was very instrumental in getting the First Step Act passed through with Reform Alliance and his organization Cut 50.
So Van Jones' organization Cut 50 has gotten a lot of people released from prison.
So I don't know if that shot is warranted.
Him and Terry Crews are not the same.
Last night was a big deal too for Cardi B who will be joining us shortly
because she put out her video for WAP
her and Meg Thee Stallion
and she posted, about to take a bath and
just cry. I'm too emotional right now.
All I can say is MF and thank you.
All the love means so much to me from
celebs to fans to any effing body.
A dead ass means a lot.
So she seems very happy
about the response.
I saw everybody talking about it last night,
all the women supporting her so much.
So I think that was really dope.
I saw Kehlani, Steph Landon, all the women just excited.
Danny Lay.
So congratulations to Cardi B. And I see the song climbing up the charts on iTunes.
Last I saw, it was number two.
So I don't know if it's number one right now yet.
Yeah, and I want to salute Cardi and her team, man, Brooklyn
Johnny and Atlantic for
getting it right, because when I heard
the record, the first thing I said was
this song needs a visual. This song does
not need a debut on the radio
with the clean version, because people
probably wouldn't appreciate it, but they did it
right. They rolled the visual out, the dirty
version, and it's dope.
I love seeing young folks doing young things.
That's that young, wild, and free energy.
All those young ladies just enjoying their life,
celebrating the moisture of their pom-poms.
Salute.
All right.
Well, I'm Angela Yee, and that's your Rumor Reports.
All right.
I love to see my girl over there celebrating.
Now, Yee, we got rumors coming.
You got our front page news coming up?
Yes, and let's talk about Donald Trump
and some comments that he had about AOC yesterday.
And, you know, it's Donald Trump.
All right, we'll get into that next.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Hey.
Hey, that's new Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion.
Wop.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
Let's get in some front page news.
All right, where we starting, Yee?
Well, let's start with Donald Trump.
He had an event in Ohio.
And the theme song for the event was Guns N' Roses, Live and Let Die.
Here's the song.
People thought that was a crazy song to play at an event
when we're talking about coronavirus
and the governor of Ohio couldn't even attend the event
because he just came down with COVID-19 also.
And here he is having live events playing Live and Let Die.
Now he also during this event talked about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
and here's what he had to say about her.
AOC, that's a real beauty, isn't it?
She knows as much about the environment.
Do we have any young children here?
As that young child over there, I think he knows more.
And she certainly knows nothing about the economy.
And if they ever had their chance, you would find that out.
Why is he coming to AOC?
Like, what did I miss?
What is he trying to distract us from by coming to AOC?
Well, she talked about the environment and the Green New Deal, and he says that it would
be a socialist takeover of the U.S. economy, so he doesn't like her stance on the environment.
I'm sure he doesn't like her either anyway, so.
Yeah, but I wonder just why all of a sudden, like, why is AOC on his mind?
Like, why did he just decide to throw a random shot at AOC?
It's not like he's running against AOC or AOC's running for anything.
I don't get it.
All I know is Donald Trump is—
She came up with the environmental package, so that's why.
Oh, yeah, I know, but she's been pushing that for a long time.
That's what I'm saying.
Why now?
Like, that's what I'm saying, because she's been pushing that.
It's like, why now all of a sudden on a random Thursday you're shooting that AOC.
But I do know Donald Trump is going to call for a mandatory lockdown on November 2nd, 2020.
Watch mandatory quarantine for everybody.
Nobody.
Watch.
Donald Trump is also ordering a banning of U.S. companies from transacting with TikTok parent company.
So he signed an executive order yesterday
and he said that will start in 45 days.
So no U.S. company can do business
with the parent company of social media app TikTok.
But won't ban semi-automatic rifles,
won't push through some proper healthcare reform,
no police reform.
Like it is what it is.
That should be the campaign slogan for 2020.
It is what it is.
All right, a man in California
was robbed of his life savings outside of a bank.
He was filmed as a crook,
beat him and took $200,000 from him.
That was his whole entire life savings.
He withdrew that cash
following the sale of his home. And he said he didn't tell anybody he was going to the bank.
He didn't tell anybody he was taking out this large amount of cash. And as he approached his
car, the thief grabbed a satchel containing the money and fled. People are starving, man. People are hungry. 40 million plus people unemployed.
How do they know that he was taking $200,000
out of the bank? Somebody had to say something.
Or was it just a lucky
grab? They just picked the guy with a bag?
I mean, we don't know because we don't know who did it,
but it just seems random. Somebody
would be waiting outside the bank to rob you
of a statue. It feels like, I mean,
I don't know what happened. What was he buying with that $200,000?
Does anybody know what he was buying?
He just sold his house.
I didn't see
no satchel, though. You saw the satchel, Yee?
I didn't see a satchel.
He had a satchel that the guy grabbed.
Yeah, I was
looking to see because, you know,
I'm posted. They should walk you out with security when you're taking
out that large amount of money. No, I mean, no. To your car. because, you know, I'm posted. They should walk you out with security when you're taking out that large amount of money.
No, I mean, no.
To your car.
No, I mean, people take out, well, that's what probably happened.
Somebody probably seen him in the bank and seen him counting that money out and taking it out.
That quickly?
Or maybe somebody, because I think you kind of have to give them advance notice when you're taking out a large amount of money.
Even if you do like a wire transfer.
Absolutely. Somebody tips wire transfer. Absolutely.
Somebody tips somebody off.
That's what I'm thinking.
Alright, now Louisiana Supreme Court upheld a black man's life sentence. You know what he
did that he's spending the rest of his life in prison
for? He stole hedge clippers.
Hedge clippers?
Oh, you mean like to cut bushes?
Yes, he was convicted in 1997
on one count of attempted
simple burglary and he got a life
sentence for that.
He is now 62 years old.
Race it is!
That's not right. And how did that
happen? How did that happen? Nobody fought for him?
Of course he's black, but nobody fought for him?
There was only one person, okay,
that was the lone dissenter in the
decision and that was Supreme Court Chief Justice Burnett Johnson,
and she felt like this sentence imposed is excessive and disproportionate
to the offense the defendant committed.
She was the only female and the only black person on the court.
The rest of the justices are white men.
Think about how many other cases it is like that,
and there's nobody making noise about that brother.
So if nobody's making noise about the situation,
nobody knows how unjust
it is and he's basically buried
under the jail for stealing a pair of goddamn
hedge clippers. That is crazy.
A failed attempt to steal a set
of three hedge clippers. Like, that's ridiculous.
Yeah, that's crazy.
He got a life sentence. Where is he at?
What state is this?
Louisiana.
Jesus Christ.
All right.
And Hasbro is pulling a Trolls doll from store shelves because of a petition with over 150,000 signatures.
There's a little button that they said is on the doll's private area under her skirt.
So when you push this button on the doll's private, she gasps and giggles.
They said this is not okay for a child's
toy. Geesh.
I'm going back to bed, man.
I've had enough of America for the day.
The doll says, wee!
What time will you get off?
We got a couple hours, bro.
Jesus Christ, man. I've had enough
of America just for the day.
I'll restart tomorrow.
My God, man.
Is nobody thinking?
How do these things just pass through so many people?
At no point does somebody say, this isn't a good idea.
We're going to lift up the skirt and it goes, woo-hoo.
How many people does that pass through in order to hit the shelves
and actually make it to stores?
Like, there was nobody said, you know what, I don't think that's a good idea.
That doesn't feel right.
I don't know if I want to lift up a doll's skirt and make her go, hee hee hee, like, I don't know.
Oh, man.
I think that they're trolling.
Since earlier this morning, we've been talking about Joe Biden and Donald Trump nonstop.
I do want to always take the time to remind everybody to make sure that you are registered to vote.
OK, Levi's has teamed up with Rock the Vote.
And they're helping get as many people as possible registered and ready to vote this fall.
All you have to do is text Levi's to 788683.
And you'll make sure that you're registered if you're not already.
And you can find out what are some key dates you need to know about when it comes to voting and deadlines.
And all the voting how-tos you need to know from Rock the Votes.
All right.
Well, thank you for that, Yee.
That was front page news.
Now, when we come back, Cardi B will be joining us.
She has a new single she just pushed out.
And we're going to talk about all that.
All right, so don't move.
What does WAP stand for, Envy?
Wet Ass Poon Poom. Okay.
We'll get to it next.
You couldn't wait
to answer that, huh?
She asked me a question, so I answered.
For Envy, you said
it's just a wet ass.
I hate y'all.
It's the Breakfast Club.
That's why he called it the Breakfast Club.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ, MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Gal.
We are the Breakfast Club.
We got a special guest on the line, Cardi B.
Hey.
Cardi.
How are you, Cardi?
I've been good.
You know what I'm saying?
A lot going on today.
How you been quarantining? Quarantining. I've been good. You know what I'm saying? A lot going on today. How you been quarantining?
Quarantining.
I've been quarantining good.
You know, adjusting to everything.
Adjusting to the California life.
Oh, you've been in Cali?
I thought you were in Atlanta.
I thought you just bought...
I just seen a big-ass house you just bought in Atlanta.
When the world shut down and everything,
we was already in L.A.
And we was just so scared, like, to travel.
Atlanta to me...
What?
Atlanta to me is just... I don't know.
It's not my place for me.
It don't have the speed for me.
Oh, it's too slow.
You're a Bronx girl. You know all the craziest people in
America come from the Bronx and all of Florida.
So you need to be someplace
a little bit more hectic. Yeah, a little bit more.
And then my job is more over here
more and everything. So
you know, I've just been
trying to hang over here in California.
Well, I've been enjoying
watching all your pictures of culture
looking all fly. Yes.
She's so fun. She's fun when she's bad.
She's cute. And you've been looking fly
too during this whole pandemic. How
is it like every day, you know, being able to
get up, get dressed? Because I know me, I've been wearing
like t-shirts and pajama pants every
day, but you've been super fly.
It's all a lie. It's all for the
gram. I've been looking good, like
literally like 40% and
then the 60%.
Trust me. I know there gotta be some paparazzi pictures
where I look straight like shit
because I just gonna be giving a damn sometimes.
Now, Barty, did the pandemic,
did this affect your creative process in any way
when it came to working on the new album?
I actually focused more
because I was able at a point
to just be in the studio every single day.
And like, there was just nothing to do, but think, think,
think and sit down and think, you know,
sometimes I'll be in the studio and I just be like, well,
I can only be here for two more hours and then I got to go.
And then like, you're just rushing.
And throughout the whole pandemic, I had no place to be, but the studio.
But then sometimes I just got a little bit sad.
This was sad, man. Yeah I just got a little bit sad. This shit was sad,
man. Yeah, there was a lot going on. Sad because of everything that's going on
in the world or what? You know, like,
I feel like the first month,
that's how I felt. Like, the first month of the quarantine
and everything, like, the first week,
it was fun, you know, watching Netflix
all day
or everything. But then
family members, they just start getting sick and they start getting
worried then i then um i sent my kids to new york because people around me was getting sick and i'm
like you know what i just i just want to make let it be safe and everything and then you have you
know friends and family losing jobs not knowing what they want to do, everything slowing down, just your whole life slowing down.
And then I was stuck here in L.A., just me and my husband and everything.
And then it was raining a lot, so it just looked sad.
It just looked depressing.
You know what?
You were good, though, because you always talk about you never get time for yourself.
You never sit down.
You're always on the road.
You're always doing shows.
But this was the time where you had to do nothing but sit your ass down.
This was the time to relax. Yeah, but it was like time where you had to do nothing but sit your ass down. This was the time to relax.
Yeah, but it was like super, super,
super sit down. Like, I was like, oh, shit.
Like, it's like if you take a nap
over here and you woke up after 7pm,
like, that's it. You cannot even get
McDonald's. You couldn't get... Everything
was super duper close. Like,
god damn. It was just,
oh. What about financially?
Did it f*** your money up a little bit?
Hell yeah, it f***ed a lot of money up, Lord.
I know that the money's there,
but it's like, I get to it,
but I can't get to it.
It's just, you can't.
It's like, God damn.
All I could think about is like, damn.
I could have this, this, this, this, and that.
But you know what else I appreciate about you, Coyote,
is during this time, right, before we get into the new single,
I just want to talk about this.
We were on that Zoom call about Breonna Taylor
and just how passionate you've been about all the causes and activism
with everything that's going on right now.
And I know that's depressing, too, to even have to address in this time.
It is really depressing, but I don't know.
Sometimes I'll be thinking that God be doing certain things
for certain reasons.
Like, I've been feeling like if this pandemic wouldn't happen,
some people would have been so busy
and so into their own lives and their own jobs and shit
that they probably wouldn't have made this big revolution
and go outside, go march, and go defend a whole race.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, this has been going on for a while,
and there was a time that people just got so discouraged
because when Black Lives Matter happened,
it was such a movement, but then it just,
I don't know, I feel like black men, black women
getting killed, getting discriminated,
it just started feeling like it was getting normalized,
and people just were fed up, and people had time to go outside and get what they wanted.
How do you feel now that your guy, he didn't become the Democratic nominee,
Bernie Sanders didn't become it, so you're stuck with Biden?
You know, I'm a little salty, but I'm okay.
You know, I spoke to Joe Biden.
He called you?
Yeah.
Who telling you not to say that?
Don't listen to them, Barney.
Don't listen to them.
We having a conversation.
Don't listen to them people saying don't talk about it.
Well, you know what I'm saying?
What did he call you and say?
No, I just, what I'm saying is that I know him. You do you call you and say? No, I just, let me, what I'm saying is that I know him.
You know what I'm saying?
And I always felt like Biden, you know, he balanced Obama
because I feel like he was, like, conservative.
And, like, you know, that's what swayed, like, the conservative.
They're centrist.
They're moderate.
They're in the middle.
Yeah, they're, like're in the middle. Yeah, they're like in the
middle, right? So,
you know, me
knowing him and everything, I think he's
getting it. I think he
understands the people's pain.
I think he's getting what
we want. Because people just
think that we want so much.
We want, like, really simple
things that we really think about.
You know what I'm saying? We're going to be very treated like regular
citizens, like we are.
We are just as much part of it.
We want what's good for us.
And I think he gets it, and
I feel like,
I try to let him know, like, listen, like,
we don't want no false promises.
We don't want no fake shit to get people
holding, like, this is what we want. Like, please make it happen. And I don't want no false promises. We don't want no fake shit to get people voting. Like, this is what we want.
Like, please make it happen.
And I don't want to hear people, you know, a lot of people are just like,
oh, now we're stuck with Joe Biden.
Well, a couple of months ago, I kept stressing.
I know y'all kept stressing that there are so many Democratic candidates.
There was a lot of them.
And y'all know what?
Y'all was just,
my was just out.
Every single,
when I,
when I interviewed Bernie,
when I kept telling people,
make sure y'all,
y'all do y'all research on these people.
Ah,
shut up bitch,
you can't speak no damn English.
And now y'all mad.
Now y'all mad.
And it's like,
you know what?
I think,
I think we should just go
with Joe Biden.
Like it is what it is.
How important is it for you
to see him have a black woman
as his,
as his running mate,
his vice president?
I think it's an important period
just because I feel like
a black woman,
she represents,
like, for example, right,
like my husband's mom, right?
She always tell it how it is.
She's extremely intelligent.
She's a delta and everything.
She is really involved in her community. And's a delta and everything. She is really
involved in her community. And when
she don't like some s***, she
will tell you. When she feels some s***,
she's going to make sure
that you're voting, that you're out there.
And they're out here.
They're out here in our communities and everything.
And I feel like that's
what you need. People need a mama.
That's right. Exactly. People need a mama. That's right.
A black, exactly.
People need a mama.
Like, people need to tell you, like,
yo, this ain't it.
And they're the ones that always tell you,
like, this ain't it.
Listen, you wrong.
I don't care what you think.
I don't care what it is.
You think what it is, it ain't.
People need that.
Let me tell you,
Offset Mom is like a mama mama.
I had to deal with Offset's mom
when I had to do the car show and I had to get the cars. She halted that. She was like, no, no, no, no, no. Mom is like a mama mama. I had to deal with Offset's mom when I had to do the car show,
when I had to get the cars.
She halted that.
She was like, no, no, no, no, no.
This is my baby's car.
You better have this.
You better have that.
You better have that.
I love you, baby, but you better have all this stuff before you get it done.
She is serious about her shit.
That's what I'm saying.
For, like, black women, they will let you know, like, this is what it is,
and I ain't taking no F or buts.
That's right.
All right, we got more with Cardi B when we come back.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
We are The Breakfast Club.
We're still kicking it with Cardi B.
Yee.
You said you don't cook, you don't clean.
Have you been cooking while you home?
I've been cooking way more now that I've brought my whole family over here.
What are you cooking, Cardi? I brought my whole family over here.
What are you cooking, Cardi?
I do baked chicken.
I be doing the salads.
Your salad is not cooking, Cardi.
No, but my salad, though, it's a special touch about my salad.
It's a skill to making a good salad.
Like, yes, because these salads be dry.
Especially over here in L.A., these salads be dry.
It's a special sprinkle to my stuff.
And I got the really good baked chicken.
And you know what I wanted to do with my cousin?
I want to do an avocado ice cream.
Yeah.
I don't know about that.
Tell Ben and Jerry's. Ben and Jerry's.
Cardi want to do an avocado ice cream.
Even though that sounds gross.
It's going to be gross.
How you come up with that? an avocado ice cream, even though that sounds gross. It's good. It's good. It's good. We'll see.
How you come up with that?
Avocado ice cream.
Why?
She must love avocados and love ice cream.
Because,
no,
this is the thing, right?
Because avocado,
it got like a texture.
It got almost like
a creamy texture.
Don't want you to eat it
with the rice.
It just gives you
like a creamy,
melty texture.
And then if you add
coconut milk, you know what I'm And then if you add coconut milk,
you know what I'm saying? If you add
coconut milk and some sugar,
imagine how that's gonna mash up
milky. You're gonna be
shitting for days.
And then, I usually do,
I have a maid, of course. Of course, I have
a maid and everything. But sometimes, like,
I be taking a bath, but then sometimes
my daughter, she don't wanna, like, I be taking a bath, but then sometimes my daughter, she don't want
to, like, take a little shower.
She want to go in the bath. So I be like,
no, no, no, no, no, no. So I got to be cleaning
my own tub before she
hops in that. So I clean a little bit
of something, something, you know what I'm saying? I clean a little
bit of something. Not with them nails.
Yes, I does.
This is like built-in chopsticks
for me. Like,
this is, like, so regular. I don't built-in chopsticks for me. Like, this is like so regular.
I don't even know how to live without them anymore.
How did you and Megan get up for this record?
Because I know you supported Megan early on in her career.
When she first came out, you supported Megan hard.
And then I seen you guys kind of split up,
and now you guys are doing records together.
So how did you get up with Megan for this record?
So our stylist, my stylist, Coll Colin, and her stylist, EJ,
they was hanging out and everything.
I guess they hung out or whatever.
And then the next day, my stylist, he came, was chilling and everything.
He was like, oh, so I was hanging out with EJ yesterday.
I'm like, oh, yeah, for real?
Yeah, my sister said he's mad cool.
I'm sorry, y'all.
That's that avocado ice cream.
Avocado ice cream.
That gives you heartburn. See what I'm saying? You got gas. That's that avocado ice cream. That gives you heartburn.
See what I'm saying?
You got gas.
You got gas.
Gas now.
All right.
So let me tell you a story.
And he was like, yo, you guys, like, we was talking, like, why our girls haven't linked up yet?
Like, you guys have to link up.
I know you see the comments all the time that people would love a song with y'all.
Y'all just gotta get to know
each other. And I told them,
you know, I'm just shy.
One of my biggest things is that I'm really
shy, especially when it comes to girls.
I don't know why. That's just
how I am.
Maybe I just be in the house too much.
But they made it happen.
And we linked up and we had conversations, girly conversations.
It was mad funny.
And after that, you know, like we started sending records to each other.
And she heard WAP and she loved it.
As soon as I got her vocals, I was like, oh, this bitch is crazy.
This bitch is crazy.
I loved it.
I was glad to hear y'all dropping a video, too,
because the first thing I said when I heard the record,
I was like, all right, this needs a visual immediately
because people need to see it,
and they need to hear the dirty version
because I don't know if they would appreciate it as much
if they just heard the clean version on the radio. Listen, I like the dirty version. I don't know if they would appreciate it as much if they just heard the clean version on the radio.
Listen, I like the dirty version. You already
know. I mean, you know
the dirty version, it is
what it is. I try my best.
I try my hardest. It took
me a long time to
even try to replace the
dirty words because it's just too
nasty. But
the video, and when it comes to the video, too,
like it's like working with her and her team was just so buttered.
Like, you know, like it was just like a hand-in-hand thing
when it came to our clothes, when it came to choreography.
Everybody worked hand-in-hand from her stylist, the hairstylist,
makeup, she does the makeup, her hairstylist, makeup.
She does the makeup, so she was with my makeup artist and everything.
And it was just so great.
It was just so easy.
And every single time we came up with ideas and shit, just exchanging it with each other, having meetings with it.
It was just so dope.
I like it. We also came up with a big list of a lot of girls that we wanted on the music video.
But you know what I'm saying?
The budget.
How do you know you got the budget?
No, this video cost a lot of money, especially because of the coronavirus.
It cost us an extra like almost $100,000 to get everybody tested.
So it was a very expensive video.
And then, like, you know, the video's kind of short.
We had to make it all in two days.
It was a lot of looks.
So we got Rosalia.
We got Normani.
We got Ruby Rose.
We got Mulatto.
We got Sukiana.
And we got Kylie Jenner.
Wow.
It was a process. It took us like
a month to get
everything together and build the sets.
The sets were crazy.
This was before she got shot
in the foot, so this was way before that.
Yeah.
Have you spoken to her since she got shot?
I texted her something, but I don't really,
I didn't want to like to call or anything
because I just don't know where she's at.
Yeah.
Sometimes people need a minute like to just
not talk to people and process things.
Yeah.
And you know, sometimes when I go through some,
some harsh shit or something crazy
In the media
It's like when people ask you, hey, are you
Hey, they're gonna call you and everything
You just get more emotional or you wanna cry
And everything, and I just
Like, you know what, I just give her like a minute
And it's a lot
Dealing with that media stuff and everything
It's a lot
Do the new rap women reach out to you? Does Megan reach out to you
for advice? Because you're kind of like
a young OG.
She hasn't reached out and everything,
but it's like if she
ever feels a certain type
of way or she ever feels like
things could get overwhelming
and everything, I will give her advice.
I feel like we have
similar stories
when it comes to the industry.
Like, you know, like,
the industry comes in
and it's beautiful and glam,
but there's also
a lot of greed around.
And you know what I'm saying?
And you also got to make sure
you have a team
that is, like,
sturdy with you.
They're always going to
tell you the truth.
There's always,
they're not going to, like,
kiss your ass
and always be firm
and always show you a lot of love.
You got to make your team family.
I think she has that.
But you know how it is when it comes to certain things,
when it comes to greed, when it comes to, you know,
everybody loves you at the beginning.
Then it gets a little crazy when you're already at the top.
And comments and shit get overwhelming
and stories and the pressure
you have. I feel
like female rappers always have
so much pressure, more than
anything. It's like, people want to give you
a time span
on your career.
I don't know, maybe her record's not gold.
I give her two years.
I give her this. I give her that.
What's next?
What's the difference with this?
Another flow.
What's going to be the next look?
Like, it's like, it's always something.
Like, it's always like they are expecting us to fail.
Each and every time, every time somebody new come in,
it gets overwhelming.
It's beautiful because you see us beautiful
and our lyrics is very confident and we show confidence, but it's just could get very overwhelming and very down.
And it's like, I would love to give any young, any young girl advice and everything.
That's why I feel like it is important for female rappers to have unity because nobody can relate better to them but you, another female rapper.
But, you know, that takes time always
to build a friendship.
It just takes time.
All right, we got more with Cardi B when we come back.
Let's get into a Cardi B mini mix.
Cardi B's here.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
That was a Cardi B mini mix.
Good morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now, Cardi B is here.
Now, do you still let people stress you out?
I've seen you going back and forth with people about Offset buying his little baby girl a Birkin bag.
Sometimes I have to respond because let me tell you something.
I have a lot of people that don't f***ing like me and are out.
It's not even like cute little small rumors. People just do really f***ed up rumors that I be like,
nah, I got to shut this s*** the f*** down.
Like, y'all is bugging.
Y'all really out here trying to target me for some reason.
So sometimes I got to be like, no, y'all f***ing lying.
Let me bring up the f***ing receipts.
And right now, the internet is the dangerous thing.
Because you could fake DMs, you can fake
texts, you can fake pre-recording,
you can fake everything.
It's crazy. Sometimes you wake
up and it's like, what the f***? I know I
didn't do s*** and I know I didn't say
s***. I haven't been talking the right, so what the f***?
I see you about to kick up
on OnlyFans responding to
everything that people have to say about
you online.
Is that real?
Maybe so.
Sometimes, if shit get out of hand sometimes, and it's like, if y'all are looking,
because I feel like people pick on me because they want to reply for me.
And if y'all want to reply, you might as well.
Baby, we're in a different time right now.
So y'all might as well.
And then, and you know, my only fans,
maybe I can show people how to do an avocado ice cream.
You never know.
I'm trying to make people sick with that damn avocado ice cream now, buddy.
I'm telling you, it's going to be good.
Now, listen, what happened with QC?
They're not your manager no more?
I want to make this really clear.
Like, QC, like, because people think that i have like a
qc management contract i never had a qc management contract so they were never like
officially my management they were helping me for a long time and they did a good job with me
we was we always kept their very professional everything everything. So I have never had nothing to say about the QC thing.
I don't know why I'm always getting dragged in these type of things
when it has nothing to do with me.
But when it comes to the boys and this whole thing that's going on,
it's not even with QC.
I think it's like with a lawyer or something.
But when it comes to men business, I don't get into that
because y'all know men and women are
very different. Men,
especially when people
know each other for a long time,
when it's a family thing, I feel
like they always resolve everything
and they always become
cool again. And that's why I don't ever
put myself in that situation
and put my input on something
because when they become cool
and you say some weird shit
they won't be cool with you
but they will always be cool with each other
so I always stay away from shit that ain't my business
but I don't think the issue
or whatever the lawsuit
whatever's going on is with QC
it's like with the lawyer or something
now I gotta ask you about this song,
What Ass...
What was happening when you decided
this is what you wanted to do?
What was going on that day or in that moment
when you were like, I got to make a song about this?
That's a very obvious question.
I just want to know, what was that moment
when you said, man, I got to write a song about this?
I don't know if I think I'm doing some other shit.
Like, you know, I heard the beat, and I'm like, yo, this song,
it just sounds real nasty.
I wanted to do something, like, with my voice a little bit, like, you know,
more lower, more raspy and everything.
So it's just like it had to be a horny song.
So that's what I did.
I did the horniest song I could ever think of.
And then when I kept hearing the song,
I'm like, damn,
I want to put a lot of girls on this song.
But as I hear the song more and more and more,
I always wanted Megan on the song
because it's so nasty that it's like,
who can be the nastiest?
I always knew that I wanted her,
but I always wanted other girls in it.
But I feel like the tempo of the song and the time of the song, it wouldn't work out.
You know, when you write a song like What Ass B****, right, and you a mother now,
does it ever make you reconsider your lyrics or the way you might do something in the video?
I think, like, as a mom, I will be pushing it if I ever do something like porn.
You know what I'm saying?
I already dead done put my whole body in the dam.
I already have a lot of explanations
to do.
To my table.
I already got a lot of explanations
to do already.
You know what I'm saying?
It's like, this is my job, girl.
You know what I'm saying?
I already did up so many songs talking about this, that,
any here, any of that.
God, I'm scared things are worse.
Would you let her listen to that one?
Would you let her listen to that record?
When she's older, you know what I'm saying?
When she's a little older.
It's not just a censored version.
Right now, she don't understand what the hell they're saying.
How do you think she's changed you for the better?
I just have, like, a better understanding for moms.
And now I respect moms more and I hate bad moms more.
Mm-hmm.
But, yeah, like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, I feel like I have calmed down more just because, like, it's like I have to think, right?
Like, it's like, I have to think, right? Like, it's like, I have to always think. Like, it's like, is this worth me f***ing up my career
and f***ing up the back for my kids?
No.
I'm going to just pray on it, and I'm going to take a nap.
So, I think.
What you mean?
What do you got to pray on?
Sometimes I get evil thoughts.
Like what?
What's the last evil thought you had, body?
I have a case. what kind of daughter were you like what's your mom were you a good kid or were you a nightmare
i just always thought that i was like like slick and i just be like now that i'm a mom i'll be like
yo i hope my daughter don't even try to tell me
these f***ing lies. You know what I'm saying?
I used to sneak out
when I used to talk back and everything.
I'd be like, oh my God, I hope my daughter
don't talk back like this to me.
I think I would smack her mouth off.
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. God,
I hope she's different
than me. Well, she will
be because her environment's going to be different.
You know what I'm saying?
She's not raised in the hood of the Bronx.
You know, you provide, she's going to be privileged in a lot of ways.
Yeah, but I also don't want her to be like one of those weird celebrity kids.
Some of these celebrity kids are weird.
Like, I still want her to be like me.
I want her to be funny.
And chill. Understand and just be
chill. But I want her to be
perfect at everything. I feel bad because I'm
going to put a lot of pressure
on her, but it's for the best.
Soon as the world is back open, she's going to be taking
every single type of class.
What's interesting about you,
Bardi, is that people think you live
all your life via social media, but you keep a lot of things private, like your relationship with Offset's other kids.
Like, how do you know what to show and what not to show?
Those are my babies.
I love them so much.
And they love my babies so much, and they're just so cute together.
I love them.
And I've seen comments sometimes, like I have seen comments sometimes, like it like oh party like she never showed her kids she always want culture to be the one and it's like that's
not true I don't show uh offsets kids on my social media because I never really asked their moms
right like I never asked their moms like I don't have a I don't have problems with them but I don't
have like a you know like a friendship with them and I never asked them like hey can I put your kids on my social
media this this and that and I don't ever want to like like disrespect them because you you just
never know if they're gonna like that or not and I don't want to bring that type of problem I don't
want to bring that type of tension no are you into the versus battle stuff or you've been watching
the versus battle you were excited about the fab jd kiss when I stuff you were excited about the Fab G
because when I see you were excited about that one
yeah you know what I would really want
I would want a G unit one
maybe I'm too New York
maybe a G unit one with
Dibsack
that'd be hard
that'd be hard
that's my pal
thank you so much for this anthem for us I feel a lot of pressure on myself now That'd be hard. That's my pal.
Cardi, thank you so much for this anthem for us.
I feel a lot of pressure on myself now.
Like, I got to hit that dangly thing in the back of my throat thanks to you.
So that's a lot of pressure on me.
Yeah, boys, make sure y'all touch that dangly thing in the back of your throat. All right.
Charlamagne has a hard time with that.
Oh, Jesus. Jesus Thank you Cardi
Love you
Alright buddy
Peace here the whole hour so let's get right to the rumors let's talk kanye west listen up it's just
in holocaust gossip the rumor report with angela it's the rumor report the breakfast club all right
so forbes has an exclusive interview with kanye west that they did via text and the headline is
that kanye is indeed running for president and trying to get onto various state ballots because he wants to siphon votes from Joe Biden.
Now, according to this article,
when he was asked about that directly,
West said that rather than running for president,
he was walking quickly and adding
that he was walking to win
when they pointed out that he actually can't win in 2020,
that he won't be on enough ballots
to yield 270 electoral votes
and that a writing
campaign isn't feasible, and was serving as a spoiler, Kanye West replied, I'm not going to
argue with you. Jesus is king. So now, Charlamagne, I know you have some of these messages.
I mean, I've seen some texts, but that's what it is. And then after that, Jesus is King, the dude from Forbes, his name is Randall Forbes.
He tweeted or he text.
So then what person people are driving it, who is directing the ballot access, et cetera.
Because when you do things, you do them big.
And this doesn't feel like a Kanye West production.
And Kanye just replied, God production.
So I don't understand how they get the whole Kanye says he's trying to siphon votes from Joe Biden.
I don't know how you create a whole article saying that based off those texts.
But, you know, here's the thing.
Like I said yesterday, GOP strategists could potentially be doing that,
and Kanye doesn't know because all you would have to do is offer assistance and get him on a ballot.
But he's not on any of the ballots.
And once again, why are we talking about this stupid-ass story?
Because Kanye West's campaign is not real.
Now, Kanye is also, according to this article,
designing a school within the next month,
and he's meeting with Betsy DeVos about the post-COVID curriculum.
So...
My goodness.
Yeah, and I'm sure...
It's weird when people even get upset about stuff like that
because they'll be like,
oh, see, it's showing that he's down with GOP people.
It's just like all Democrats are down with GOP people as well.
They got to work across the aisle to get things done.
I don't know.
I'm not the highest grade weed in the dispensary.
Well, y'all want to hear some good news?
Please.
Nia DaCosta is Captain Marvel 2's director.
She is the first black woman to direct a Marvel film. Congratulations to Nia DaCosta is Captain Marvel 2's director. She is the first black woman to direct a Marvel film.
Congratulations to Nia DaCosta.
That is amazing.
She was the director and co-writer for Jordan Peele's Reimagining of Candyman,
which is coming out in October.
And she was selected by Jordan Peele specifically to direct what was called Candyman 2020.
So congratulations to her.
That is amazing.
Definitely will be watching that.
Anthony Mackieie if you remember
had talked about the lack of diversity
within Marvel
he had said it really bothered me that I've done
seven Marvel movies where every
producer, every director, every stunt person, every
costume designer, every PA, every single
person has been white. We've had one black
producer his name was Nate Moore
he produced Black Panther
I guess I'm one of the
few guys that like Captain Marvel.
But I think Captain Marvel is dope.
Well, you know I'm going to go see it.
Yes.
You're going to be lost. That's okay.
I know. I'm going to be lost.
You ain't even see part one.
I'll watch it before I go see it.
I'll watch it before I go see it. But whatever.
I'm still going to go support.
It don't matter.
I'll be lost.
All right.
Mark Zuckerberg just became the third person on earth worth over $100 billion.
Yes.
His fortune surpassed $100 billion after Facebook launched their TikTok competitor in the U.S.
So congratulations to him.
And listen, I'm not mad at that.
I don't get mad when I hear those kind of numbers.
The reason I don't get mad when I hear those kind of numbers is because Mark Zuckerberg created something.
And that something became the biggest something.
And he gets paid for what he created.
That's what a capitalist, you know, free enterprise society is all about.
Not mad at it.
All right.
And since we're talking about apps, Snapchat is now going to let users register to vote in their app.
So they have new guides and features,
and it's going to help young users register and otherwise prepare to vote.
It's called Voter Registration Mini.
It'll also keep a tally of how many users have registered to vote throughout the app,
and they also are launching a new voter guide,
which will provide Snapchat users with information on voting by mail,
voter registration, and ballot education.
So that's dope too.
Now Kiki Palmer is going to be hosting the VMAs.
So congratulations to her.
She's been announced as the host.
That's going to take place at the Barclays Center
in Brooklyn on August 30th.
So that'll be great. I think she's a great host.
I'm interested.
I think it'll be dope. Kiki's dope.
I've always liked Kiki's energy.
She's dope. She's going to be a good host. So it's going to be live
at the Barclays Center?
Yeah, it's going to be live.
You're going to have people there?
Oh, I don't think that there's going to be people there.
Oh. But it will take place
at the Barclays. Interesting.
Alright, well
I'm Angela Yee and that is your room.
Oh, and one last thing I wanted to talk
about is Megan Thee Stallion. She's a new face of Revlon. So congratulations to her. This was
announced yesterday. She got a lot of positive things happening for her right now. So I'm really
happy for Megan Thee Stallion. Obviously the new Watt song came out last night at midnight.
And she also announced yesterday she is a new face of Revlon. She also went live to talk about
things that are happening in her life. And she was responding to some of the questions on her live.
Listen to this.
The person says, what did you feel after getting shot?
I felt like really crazy.
I felt like, why did I get shot?
Like, what did I do?
I just felt very betrayed by a friend.
I felt very betrayed by all my friends. So again,
y'all, enough with the jokes,
okay, about her getting shot. That's a
traumatizing experience. Leave it alone.
Let it go. Let her process it.
I'm sure at some point, whatever
happened will come out, but just leave it alone.
She got shot. That's terrible.
Yeah. Everything you're saying is absolutely
correct-y, but the internet don't give a damn.
Okay? The internet is ruthless and cold-hearted and you're not going to win against them.
You just got to turn your damn phone off. All right. That is your rumor report.
Now, Charlemagne. Yes, sir. Who are you giving that donkey to?
I need North Paulding High School to come to the front of the congregation.
We would like to have a word with them. An injustice happened in Dallas, Georgia,
which I never even heard of Dallas, Georgia until yesterday.
But an injustice happened in Dallas, Georgia
that we need to talk about.
All right, we'll get into that next.
Keep it locked.
This is The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
It's gonna be the donkey of the day.
Yeah, you dumbass.
You get donkey of the day.
Yeah, you dumbass.
You are a donkey. It's time for donkey of the day. You get donkey of the day. You are a donkey.
It's time for donkey of the day.
Donkey of the day, huh?
I'm going to fatten all that shit around your eyes.
They want this man to throw them blows, man.
They wait for Charlamagne to tap them gloves.
Let's go.
They had to make a judgment of who was going to be on the donkey of the day.
They chose you.
The breakfast club, bitches.
Who's donkey of the day today?
Donkey of the day for Friday,
August 7th goes to North Paulding High
School in Dallas, Georgia. I have never
heard of Dallas, Georgia ever in my
life, but they are on the map now for
all the wrong reasons. I want to salute
Hannah Waters, who is
a student at North Paulding High School.
I was watching this story on
CNN after the verses went
off. Laura Coates was filling in
for Don Lemon and she was having a conversation with Hannah Waters because Hannah got suspended
for no damn good reason. OK, I really hate when people get in trouble for doing the right thing.
I really do. It says a lot about the world, the planet that we are existing on when folks punish
you for being a good human. Let's go to Laura Coates on CNN to hear the injustice that we are existing on, when folks punish you for being a good human.
Let's go to Laura Coates on CNN to hear the injustice that happened to Hannah Waters.
A 15-year-old student in Georgia says that she has been suspended from her school after posting a photo of a crowded hallway between classes.
Hannah Waters put up the image you're seeing right now on Twitter.
It shows kids who are jam-packed in the halls of North Paulding High School,
and she says many were not wearing any masks.
The Paulding County Superintendent sent a letter to the community saying
the photo is really out of context, writing this,
class changes at the high school level are a challenge when maintaining a specific schedule.
It is an area we are continuing to work on in
this new environment to find practicable ways to further limit students from congregating.
Students are in this hallway environment for just a brief period as they move to their next class.
He went on to say there is no question that the photo does not look good and that wearing a mask
is a personal choice and there is no practical way
to enforce a mandate to wear them. That's right. Hannah Waters got suspended because she was
concerned about the packed hallway and lack of mask at the school. Clearly she was concerned
about people spreading this virus folks keep trying to ignore called COVID-19. Now what confused me
was something
Paulding County Superintendent Dr. Brian Otoach said
in that clip you just heard.
He said, wearing a mask is a personal choice
and no practical way to enforce them.
Hmm, this is a superintendent of a school.
He said, wearing a mask is a personal choice
and no practical way to enforce them.
I went and looked up the board policy
for North
Paulding High School, the middle and high school parent and student information guide. What do you
mean, Dr. Otat, if I'm pronouncing your name right? You know I can't pronounce nothing. What do you
mean there is no practical way to enforce kids wearing a mask? All right, you enforce them to
wear a mask the same way you enforce other rules. You suspended Hannah Waters for violating rules,
okay, rules that you made up. So how can you enforce them but can't enforce other rules,
okay? You implemented rules that got Hannah fired. I mean, Hannah suspended that she violated,
so why can't you implement rules to make people wear masks? Page 13 of this handbook is the dress
code. They have things that are approved for school wear, like pants and shorts.
They have to be a certain length. Skirts and dresses must be a certain length. Shoulders must
be covered for young ladies. They have rules that say you have to wear appropriate shoes.
And then they have a long list of things that are not approved for school wear. So if you wanted to
mandate kids wearing masks, you absolutely could. They're kids and you're a school. All right. In fact,
you suspended Hannah for violating three different conduct policies. So don't act like you can't make
new conduct policies. All right. You can make new rules the same way you can prohibit things.
You can mandate things and wearing a mask should be a mandate. Mandatory. All right. Let's listen
to Hannah Waters having a conversation with Laura Coates
about what's happened to her.
Let's go back to CNN for the report, please.
I violated three of the code of conduct policies.
One of them saying that I use my phone
during instruction time
and that I use it in the hallway during class change.
But it also says that students 9 through 12 have permission to
use it um the second one that they said i broke was using my phone during school hours for social
media but i posted the photo onto twitter after school during dismissal and then the fourth one
i did break it was the one about filming students and posting it on social media platforms.
Do you regret doing any of this?
I'd like to say that this is good and necessary trouble so it needed to be said.
The superintendent did send out that message to families
and he said that the photo is just out of context.
We have about five minutes to go through the class change.
So those five minutes, we've passed so many people in the hallway.
Dropping the clues bombs for Hannah Waters.
Hey, young woman, clearly inspired by the Honorable John Lewis.
She said this is some good and necessary trouble.
80-year-old OG John Lewis influencing young high school kids.
You'll love to see it.
But North Paulding High School, I understand rules are rules,
but you're saying she violated three conduct policies,
using her phone during instruction time,
using her phone during school hours for social media,
and filming students and posting on a social media platform.
Well, according to Hannah, students in grades 9 through 12
were exempt from the phone ban,
and Hannah didn't post a photo until school was over, okay?
Hannah admitted she broke the policy on posting images of students,
but as you heard her say, she doesn't regret it
because it was some good and necessary trouble word to John Lewis.
Listen, she broke a rule. I get it. You suspended her.
But the reason you really suspended her is because you want to send a message to other students,
and that message is what happens at North Paulding High School stays at North Paulding High School.
OK, when the reality is North Paulding High School is not doing everything in their power to prevent the spread of coronavirus because they aren't mandating kids to wear masks.
OK, it's a high school. Your rules apply.
If the kids have to be that close together in between classes, then masking the hallway should absolutely be mandatory.
I don't understand leadership in America anymore. When the kids have more sense than the superintendents and the superintendents don't know what's best for the kids and don't know what safety is,
what the kids do and they're calling out the leadership at the school for it, something
is wrong, all right? Hannah Waters, I just want to say to you, salute, and always remember doing
the right thing is always the right thing, and to Superintendent Dr. Brian Otot, there is no right
way to do the wrong thing, and what you did to Hannah Waters, suspending her, is wrong.
And not mandating masks at North Paulding High School is wrong.
Please give North Paulding High School in Dallas, Georgia,
the sweet sounds and the hammer tones. Oh, now you are the donkey of the day.
You are the donkey Of the day
Yee-haw
Well, thank you for that donkey today, Charlemagne.
Yes, ma'am.
Well, you called me sir before, so which one is it?
Ma'am?
Sir.
What'd you say, ma'am?
Sir.
What'd you say, young lady?
Sir.
Young lady with the drawn-on beard?
Sir. What'd you say? Sir sir young lady with the drawn-on beard sir what'd you say sir yeah yeah done we finished all right when we come back two chains will be joining us so
we're gonna kick it with two chains it's the breakfast slow good morning the breakfast club
morning everybody it's dj mv angelae, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club.
We got a special guest in the building right now, 2 Chainz.
What up, brother?
Yes, sir.
How y'all doing?
Good morning.
How you doing, 2 Chainz?
Good morning.
You got to get your own Zoom.
You on your daughter's Zoom, man.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I left my iPad at the studio last night, so I had to use hers.
What's up, man?
What's happening, brother?
How are you holding up during this pandemic, brother?
Well, you know, for me, it was cool.
I think it was well needed.
I just want to speak for myself.
It was cool for me to reset, you know what I mean, get some time in with the girls,
you know what I mean, Help build that strong black confidence
I want to install in my son, Halo.
Also give me time to be creative during this pandemic,
having to actually use the things that you have,
you know what I mean?
And you can't really, you can't do anything.
You know, it's hard to cast people.
It's hard to shoot things. It's hard to shoot things.
It's hard to just come up with content.
For me, this pandemic
has forced me to be more
creative. I love those challenges.
Have you slept yet from last night?
Not that much.
A little bit. I slept a little bit.
I see you got the chains on and everything.
I sleep
in my chains.
Girl, you know that.
Why would I know that?
How would you know that?
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Don't do that.
What, man?
You tell.
She ain't got a serious face on.
Y'all know y'all can.
Man, no.
I don't want any of that smoke.
Hey, listen.
That is my friend.
We've been friends since.
That is my friend.
Nah, that's it. Nah, I was just... I do sleep in jewelry, though. friends. That is my friend.
I do sleep in jury, though.
Now, Chase, why was y'all so tense last night, man?
In the beginning, I was getting a little bored
because you and Ross was acting too cool for school.
Why?
Why? What happened?
I think we were probably just feeding off
each other, trying to see who was going, because there was
so much respect in the room, trying to see who was going to be the one to step on each other's shoes, to really crank it up.
The first couple songs, you know, I was going to go first.
They ended up going first.
And then I started realizing that we just, you know what I'm saying, on some celebration shit.
So I didn't want to be too lit.
I didn't want to be too Wi-Fi, just coming out with like, you know what I mean? So my
because I rehearsed
I practiced and everything. It meant a lot to
me. So my whole thing
was about me really
letting people know that I wanted my
roses where I could smell them, you know what I mean?
And it was more like it was just a
respectful, you know, honorable
stance for me just to play these
records. And I know he's been in the game longer than me.
I know he has a few Jay-Z records.
I know he's on a few Khaled singles.
I'm on none of those things.
So my whole thing was just to kind of be like, you know,
I didn't want to be too jumping all over the place because I knew he had this
kind of ammunition, but I was, you know,
highly confident in the stuff that I've done.
Did people not want to smoke with you?
Because I've seen you call out a lot of people for a long time,
and it seemed like nobody wanted to battle chains at first.
Yeah, I had called out Meek before, you know what I'm saying?
But he had respectfully declined, and that was cool.
I wasn't calling nobody.
You know, all this is about celebration and really just wanting my roses
while I can smell them.
And a lot of these people, I see they have emotion.
They have an action.
You got to be blind not to see that people really look up to what meat got going on.
You know what I'm saying?
You know what I'm saying?
Rose is, you know what I mean?
We know what he is to the industry and what he brings to the industry.
And anybody else, I wasn't going to turn down no smoke.
So when Swisdom called me about Ross,
I didn't even think about catalogs or nothing.
I ain't hollering at nobody.
I just said, yes, let me know when, you know what I mean,
I'm going to be there.
So, you know, I apologize.
I performed my second song, which was I'm different,
just to try to add some energy.
But I apologize for the lack of days,
just being so lazy or being high,
whatever people thought we were so laid back,
being high or whatever it was.
I apologize for that.
But from deep down inside,
I took that very seriously from the jump off.
I was going to say,
you did have some essential workers in the room, though.
Yeah, I mean, that's what they are.
And they had on masks on, so it was all right.
Now, I saw Drake say last night in the comments that you and Ross were two of his idols.
So how does that make you feel?
That's just some, you just some honorable stuff to say.
Drake is top tier fixture in the game, you know what I mean?
Definitely a go-to.
We had played the... Who was behind you crawling on the floor?
Who was that behind you crawling on the floor, James?
On the other side, James.
Who was that?
Harmony, they can see you.
I didn't even see you.
This is not AC.
Alright, yeah.
I don't
welcome up.
Damn. The stuff about
Drake saying that
you know, we basically had
a stimulus package from, you know, me
and Ross had plenty of
Drake vibes in our set. You know what I mean? from, you know, me and Ross had plenty of Drake vibes in our set.
You know what I mean?
So, you know, he always just a phone call away
when it comes to putting down some dope material.
So I appreciate that.
How did it make you appreciate Ross's catalog last night?
Because, you know, it's hard to judge, right?
Because I got personal preference.
Personal preference, I like Ross and I like Chains.
But when you hear the music, you got to sit back and say,
that damn Ross got a different type of catalog, man.
But let's talk about that when we come back.
Right now, let's get into Chainz's record right now.
He just released it last night.
Money Maker.
Featuring Lil Wayne.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Let's get the joint on.
That was Money Maker, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne.
2 Chainz is in the building.
He is here right now.
Now you asked about Ross' catalog, right, Charlamagne?
Yeah, because, you know, when you're sitting back watching it at home,
that's what it is.
You appreciate both artists, right, because you start,
you hear these records and you're like, damn,
you give both of them their flowers.
But as a rap person, Change, you had to say to yourself, man,
Ross got a different type of catalog.
Listen,
his list has been up in my studio
for two weeks, y'all.
I wasn't surprised that no song he played.
Y'all fucking with the right one when you come to
this. Listen, he had
more pressure than me because he had more
material. I knew I had.
Y'all talking about 20 hits, right?
That's what y'all talking about, 20 hits.
I was playing 23 hits.
I'm not going back and forth with catalogs and all that.
You say you want to hit some hits.
I played plaque after plaque after plaque after plaque.
I thought it was a great battle.
There were some rounds I really couldn't choose.
And so another thing that I was doing was I wasn't doing no rounds.
I was just playing hit for hit for hit for hit.
I wasn't going back and forth with no catalog, no who did this beat,
no big homies, little homies, all of us, just me.
It wasn't about none of that shit.
This shit was about this is another plaque.
This is another hit.
I did the hook.
I did a 16.
I was the hardest on this whole song.
That's what that was about.
You know what I mean?
I like when Jay talk like this, man.
Were there some songs afterward that you were like, damn, I should have played that?
Because, you know, people always respond on social media.
And they're like, you missed this song.
You missed this song.
Are there some songs you feel like you missed?
Angela, I was 1,000% focused on this.
I don't know what I was doing the night before.
I was rehearsing for a couple of hours. I was getting thousand percent focused on this. I don't know what I was doing the night before. I was rehearsing for a couple of hours.
I was getting my together.
I knew I was going to spit over TV tracks.
That's what I do with shows.
I knew I was going to have narrative behind it.
I knew that I was going to have content with dancers.
Y'all got to know that I'm one of the best minds in this marketing mind.
Y'all know me and Tech been doing this for the longest.
You know, I ain't no big dish behind me. No big deal. Y'all know this coming straight from me this shit for the longest. You know I ain't no big dish behind me, no big dish.
Y'all know this shit coming straight from me.
The idea coming straight from me.
Y'all going to give me my roses where I can smell them.
All that other shit y'all come up, ain't about nothing.
We come out playing 20 hits back to back.
That's what I did.
I don't care what nobody else play.
I'm going to always have my 20 hits.
If they go up to 30, I can still be in this time, Tech.
If they go up to 40, I might can hang in a time table. If they go up to 40, I might can hang
in a little longer. I'm just being real.
You know what I'm saying? Let's talk about
and then we talk about other stuff that's different.
Man, did I know this man had this?
He got way more s*** than that. I had a whole
list of s*** that he didn't do. At least
10 records that I felt that he was going to do that
he didn't do. So I wasn't surprised
that he dropped. I'm just
surprised that y'all don't see how hard I am.
That's what I'm surprised about.
I thought it was a pretty...
We know James get busy.
And I said that on the air this morning. I thought it was a pretty even battle.
Not y'all.
Y'all. Not y'all.
The people. I got you.
Y'all.
Solomon, you fought with me too hard. Not y'all. Angela, come on now. They're the people. I got you. I got you. Nice job. You fought with me too hard.
Nice job, Angela.
Come on now.
Nice job.
Good job.
Listen, 2 Chainz got the turn up.
I always felt like 2 Chainz got the turn up club songs.
And sometimes it's hard to put those songs against laid back songs.
Like, I've always been a 2 Chainz fan.
I got them too.
I got laid back songs too.
I was playing 20 hits. I got laid back songs too. I was playing 20 hits.
I got laid back songs too.
Y'all not understanding my frequency right now.
I got laid back songs.
I can rap about dead, living, cat, dog, house, everything.
I can rap about everything.
I'm one of the illest to do this.
Period.
That's what I'm trying to do.
Why do you think they don't give you their respect like that though?
Why do you think they don't give you their respect like that?
They do give Shane his respect.
He doesn't feel that way.
I always felt like I had to work five or ten times hard to be at the same point another person has.
And I'm kind of immune to it.
It doesn't bother me at all.
Please don't say this is frustration because if it is, it's probably just because I'm sleepy.
But for the most part, I've always, and people that's close to me know that I have these tantrums about me wanting to have my roses
while I can smell them.
You know what I'm saying?
Don't be trying to wait till I die to be telling me how ill I was on this song.
Man, f*** y'all, that's s***.
You know what I mean?
I've been f***ing my s***.
Ever since I left Disturbing the Peace, I've been kicking it.
I've been a millionaire.
I've been taking care of my family, my f***ing community.
I own basketball teams.
I own beverages.
I own restaurants.
Shout out to Escobar.
Members only.
I have two Escobars.
I'm about to open up a third one.
Stop playing with me.
Everybody know that about James.
I just think it's the fact when it comes to the verses, it's two artists, right?
So one artist is probably going to get appreciated
more in these verses battles.
It's happened every single verses.
And I think this is just
one of them ones where people just was like listening to
Ross like, damn, Ross really got
a catalog. That's all.
Not saying you don't change.
Not saying you don't. I'm just saying
that that's all. And listen, with
the verses battles, it is about playing the hits though. And you definitely played all the hits in this battle. I'm just saying that that's all. And listen, with the versus battles, it is about playing the hits, though.
And you definitely played all the hits in this battle.
I thought this was a pretty even one.
There was a lot of rounds that could have gone one way or the other.
There's a lot of rounds that you won.
There's a lot of rounds that were—
It was just a—I think it was a pretty even matchup as far as the hits that you guys were playing.
I'm sorry to cut you off.
And that's another thing.
I wasn't—my list wasn't—no matter if I went first or last, I was sorry to cut you off. That's another thing. My list wasn't...
No matter if I went first or last,
I was sticking to my guns.
I wasn't...
You wasn't going to switch.
I wasn't like, this wasn't for Aston
Martin or this wasn't for
f*** with me.
This just was a hit. No matter what he's
going to play next. I'm going to play another
hit, though. You get what I'm saying?
Did you watch other battles?
Envy. Envy. This is my
strategy.
What you finna play?
Play this other hit. Whatever you
finna play. I'm finna play another hit.
I did that for 20 straight songs. No matter
if people realize like, damn, Ross, you have
10 albums. You know what I'm saying?
Whatever is going on with that, that's not my gripe.
My whole thing was that I came to do what I was supposed to do,
and I was sped up with 20 straight hits that everybody,
as soon as they heard it, they were like, oh, remember this.
Oh, I know every word bro about to say.
That's what I played.
Every song I did up there, I didn't have to do the verse.
People could have done the verse.
Yeah, let's talk about that.
Billboard scored it 11-10-4.
So that's pretty fair.
I mean, they scored it for Ross, but 11-10-4 ties.
And they said everybody loves Taheed,
but the legacy most being celebrated tonight was clearly that of Rick Ross.
So it ain't nothing.
Man, I'm glad I was there to celebrate with him.
That's the most important thing.
Why you ain't digging the Trappavelli bag a little bit, though?
Hold on, hold on.
We got more with 2 Chainz when we come back.
2 Chainz is here, 800-585-1051.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy, we are The Breakfast Club.
Now, this is usually where we do rumors, but 2 Chainz is here.
He just came off of the versus of last night, him versus Rick Ross.
Now, you were asking about going into old catalogs, Charlamagne.
I mean, I've been a 2 Chainz fan for a long time,
so I was wondering if he was going to dig in the Trappavelli bag a little bit,
maybe let the roof fly.
Did you all think about it?
That's what I'm trying to tell you.
The whole thing was that I have, I don't have 10 albums,
but if we count mixtapes, some of those were,
some of those songs got enough eyes and ears on them to where I can,
I can count them as, you know, impactful for me.
But the game that they told me that the room I was in about this band called Versus is to play some hits.
And that's all I did.
I agree with you.
You know, like, I mean, listen, stop playing with me.
I have those.
No, I was going to say from the old Versus battle, like when you watch Jadakiss and Fab, right?
The one thing that Jadakiss said he was doing was making Fab switch the songs that he should have played to respond to the songs that he was playing.
And I think it is a great idea to stick to the hits.
And also to have.
Yeah.
It was like he's going to give Fab up his dean and try to come into his lane.
And that's what Fab did.
That's what that's what that's what Kiss did.
Kiss had a plan.
And James obviously had a plan.
Man, listen, I knew not to play like that with Ross because his catalog was so huge.
And so I stuck to my guns. And, you know, I knew not to play like that with Ross because his catalog was so huge. And so I stuck to my guns.
And, you know, I wasn't playing.
I wasn't doing this stuff on no scoring, on no scoring type of tip,
or even keeping scoring because I knew I was playing 20 straight hits.
That was my score, you know, no matter what.
But at the end of the day, like I said, I definitely appreciate the platform.
But I used every, I saw every verses, you know what I mean, almost
maybe missed one or two leading up
to mine. So I studied
those too. You know you're not messing with no
fool or nobody that just
you know what I'm saying, intellectually in a
sunken place. Y'all know I'm high frequency
with this shit, so I watched everything.
So I knew, I mean, you know,
I could have told y'all that the dance that
Ross was going through was going to be a mean, like, 15 minutes.
I knew what this was when I saw him dancing.
Like, I saw Snoop do it.
I saw what could go viral.
Jadakiss, yep.
I started this.
I started this.
You know what I'm saying?
I saw, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, Jadakiss doing what he doing with his hands up.
They kept.
I saw, and you know what I said? I don't want to do none of that. I'm just going Yeah, Jay, that kid's doing what he's doing with his hands up. They kept – I saw – and you know what I said?
I don't want to do none of that.
I'm just going to be me, chill out.
You know what I'm saying?
Rock my –
Why not?
You know what I'm saying?
That's what we look for.
That's what I was thinking in the beginning.
I said, man, they trying not to – I said, they trying not to be memes.
That's why they being so cool.
Man, that's a great way to put it.
That's a great way to put it.
You know, for real, for real, I was born this way.
My DNA is ice cold.
I'm a cool-ass brother.
But what I'm trying to say is I did not want it.
It certainly means that you be cool with it.
I mean, all of them are just memes for this.
It didn't even hurt your feelings at the end of the day,
but I think that might would have been a part of the frequency.
And then there was a bunch of people in the room, you know what I'm saying?
And I think, you know, people started doing certain things.
I don't want to say what.
And then the energy started kind of pumping up,
you know what I'm saying?
Started getting up around,
you know, I don't know, third, fourth record.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah.
Like, once again,
and once again, you know what I'm saying?
I dropped a beautiful joint,
you know what I'm saying?
Right off the call.
Money Maker.
That has a sample from the Southern University band
and it's, you know, I'm from an HBCU and it. And, you know, I'm from HBCU.
And it's just, you know, I know what this pandemic is.
You ain't shout out Hampton, though.
I heard you shout out all them HBCUs.
You ain't shout out Hampton.
No, see, I was told I was going to get in trouble for this.
But what I want people to know is it's hundreds of HBCUs.
And it's only two or three minutes in a song.
And I just want y'all to bear with me and know that I love y'all.
And when I say HBCUs, it's us.
We're under an umbrella together, so don't feel like that.
And I hope that general answer can smooth this out for everybody.
You know, one thing I realized about both of y'all catalogs last night
is how much y'all both have contributed to the script club,
the soundtrack to the script clubs, bro, in a real way.
Absolutely.
Man, you know, for us, the dancers, you know, down in the South,
our A&R, they pick a lot of the records.
They have the motion.
They know what direction, our climate, the music is about to go into.
They break records.
So I'm going to take that as a compliment, bro.
Now, the conversation that came from yesterday was who had the best strip clubs.
Was it Miami or Atlanta?
He's going to say Atlanta, I would think.
He's been to both several times, I'm sure.
Multiple times.
Yeah, I've been to both.
But I like it.
You know, I like Atlanta.
I'm, you know, on here in the trenches.
You know, I've been going since I was a teenager.
And, you know, just get the whole culture aspect of it.
I have an understanding of it.
I know that dancers pay taxes, too.
So, I get it.
I respect them.
I respect their hustle.
So, I think Atlanta got some of the most engaging, you know, strip club scenes for, you know, some decades now.
So, yeah, I'm going to rock with Atlanta.
Yeah, we had Cardi on the show this morning, and she said the same thing.
She said she didn't know who would win because both of y'all contributed so much
to the script club culture with the music.
Y'all made them a lot of money.
Appreciate that, Cardi, for real.
Well, thank you, too, Change, for checking in.
I know it's been a long night for you.
We know you got the new song, Money Maker, featuring Lil Wayne.
That's your partner.
That's right.
And Chains always gets his roses over here, man.
Chains is very much celebrated in our culture called hip-hop.
He know that.
He know that.
You helped launch the Breakfast Club.
Definitely.
Nah, y'all been showing me love forever.
I love y'all for real.
Ain't no smoke.
You know that?
You know who y'all are. Y'all wasn't me. Actually, y'all. showing me love forever. I love y'all for real. Ain't no smoke. You know that? You know who y'all is.
Y'all wasn't actually y'all.
It was the other folks.
You know what I mean?
It was the other y'all.
The other y'all.
Universal y'all.
Yeah, but I appreciate it.
I had a great time.
Shout out to Swift.
You know, Timbaland, the versus effect was definitely up in the air.
You will be seeing a rollout.
You know me.
You will see a full rollout after this album,
my videos, all that shit been shot,
content in the holster, video.
I mean, everything is about to start rolling out.
New album on the way, so help me God.
And then I'm dropping Collie Grove 2.
I'm trying to do both of those projects
within the same year.
I'm done playing bars up to par.
I'm done playing.
They never went no well. I'm done playing. I'm done playing. That's the I'm done playing they never went no well
I'm done playing
I'm done playing
that's the end of this
that's the name of the album
so help me God
yes sir
okay
alright well we appreciate you
for joining us
let's get into
a 2 Chainz mix right now
let me know your favorite
Chainz joint
Revolt
you have a great week
and everybody else
805-851051
let me know your favorite
Chainz joint
we'll get it on right now.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Your mornings will never be the same.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now shout to Cardi B for joining us this morning.
Yeah, salute the body.
Wap.
Wap right now.
Did I say it right?
Is it wap or wap? Yeah. I don't know. I would say wap because it's A in the body. WAP. WAP right now. Did I say it right? Is it WAP or WAP?
Yeah.
I don't know.
I would say WAP because it's A in the middle.
Yeah.
But, you know, yeah, shout out to Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion.
And I love the fact that I feel like, because I had a conversation with one of my homegirls
yesterday, I feel like it's an empowering song for women.
You know, I know that some people are criticizing, but I think it's dope for women to express
themselves how they want to express
their sexuality. I've always been a
big fan of women owning the narrative
of their own sexuality and feeling free
and open to talk about topics that
people try to tell us are taboo.
So I appreciate a song like this and it's
fun and sounds like I have some work to do.
Yeah, I mean, it's a very
powerful song except for
young women experiencing vaginal dryness.
But other than that, yeah.
You know, you can always use lube.
It's not the same
though, right?
Because then it would be lab.
Try it, Charlamagne. Try it. We'll talk about it
on Monday.
It would be lab
if it was lubed.
Or they could do a remix called Dap.
Dry ass.
Okay.
All right.
And 2 Chainz, thank you for joining us.
When we come back, we got the positive note.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are the Breakfast Club.
Now, shout to everybody.
You know, I do these webinars. I'm doing my,
I think the last webinar of the year, maybe,
for real estate.
We're going to be talking to contractors. We're going to be
talking to inspectors. We're going
to be talking to real estate agents in different markets
and breaking down how we do a lot of our deals in
different markets. Because like Angela Yee would
even tell you, finding a contractor in these
different markets is difficult.
Yeah, I might have to tune in for that one because I'm working on some projects myself
here in Brooklyn and it has not been easy.
That's right.
So if you want for more information, limited spots available, click the link in my bio.
Now, Charlamagne, you got a positive note, brother?
Oh, wait, before you say before you say that, though, just in reference to Envy's seminar
over the weekend, I do want to say this is really valuable information because you could end up wasting a lot of time and money if you don't do your research and get the right contractor.
So I do think something like this is so important.
And also to know that you can buy a home, right, that needs work and see the vision in doing that and spend a lot less money than you would on a finished home.
So I think that's just some important things that you can understand.
You can buy a fixer-upper if you know how to find the right contractors
to do the work you need to do and also know what that should cost.
So information like that is very valuable.
Absolutely.
Charlemagne, you got a positive newt?
I do.
This comes from Lou Holtz, the great football coach.
He used to be the coach for South Carolina Gamecocks.
But Lou Holtz says, I follow three rules He used to be the coach for South Carolina Gamecocks, but Lou Holtz says,
I follow three rules. Do the right
thing, do the best you can, and
always show people you care. Remember
that this weekend.
Breakfast club, bitches!
Y'all finished or y'all done?
Had enough of this country?
Ever dreamt about starting your own?
I planted the flag. This is mine.
I own this. It's surprisingly
easy. 55 gallons of
water, 500 pounds of concrete.
Or maybe not. No country
willingly gives up their territory.
Oh my God. What is that? Bullets.

Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show,
where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs,
the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run Run High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know
what is going to come for you.
