Starting point is 00:01:55 The Breakfast Club. The show you love to hate. From the east to the west coast. DJ Envy. Angela Yee. Charlamagne Tha Gov. The realest show on the planet. This is why I respect this show because this is a voice to society.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Change in the game. You guys are the coveted morning show, which I earn. Impacting the culture. They wake up in the morning and they want to hear that breakfast. The world's most dangerous morning show. We in the mother. We in the. Good morning, Angela Yee. She's not in here yet. Charlamagne Tha God. Peace to the planet. It's Thursday.
Starting point is 00:02:48 And it's one more day. One more day. One more day to Bae's birthday. One more day. One more day. One more day to Bae's birthday. Hey, hey. I like that.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Drop on the clues bar for that little jingle. I like that. Charlamagne's birthday is tomorrow. Hey, man. It's my last day in my 30s. It's over. I'm officially Uncle Charla now. You hear me?
Starting point is 00:03:08 Ain't nothing wrong with it, man. Listen, I've embraced it. Getting old, growth, it feels good, man. I've embraced it, okay? Starting tomorrow, for the rest of the year, you can call me C40. C40. From now until June 29th, 2018. What's the year now?
Starting point is 00:03:26 We're in 2018. 2019. You can call me C40. Well, your knee is going to hurt a little more. It's hurting now. Your gray hair is going to start popping up in places you didn't think you were supposed to have gray hair. No, because I'm going to keep shaping. You ain't got to worry about that right now.
Starting point is 00:03:38 You got laser hair removal. Because I'm not going to ever dye my beard or nothing like that. That's what you say now. No, I'm not. When it comes, I'm going to let it grow out. Now you got gray hair popping up under your armpits, popping up in your pubic areas. It's going to be all kind of crazy on you and your toe hairs. Is this happening to you, Envy?
Starting point is 00:03:54 I'm starting to see a gray hair there and everywhere. I ain't going to lie. Because he was very explicit. Yeah. They're going to start piling. You'll be like, whoa, I didn't even know I could get gray hair there. Embrace it. Age is a blessing.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Okay. I'm happy to be here. All right. Absolutely happy to be here. What you doing for your birthday? Tomorrow? Yeah. I'm going out to the country tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:04:12 I'm gone. I ain't mad at you. I'm going out to the country tomorrow. Family, summer family vacation. Well, yesterday I went to Universal. Universal, the theme park. The Universal Circus. No, not the Universal.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Universal. Theme park. And it was great It was probably one of the best adventures That I had with the kids and everything We just had an amazing time Going on all the rides Seeing all the shows I'm not a Harry Potter guy
Starting point is 00:04:38 But if you're into Harry Potter That is the place for you Did y'all ride the train? I rode the train Yes, my daughter loved that when we went. She loved to ride that train. I forget what the name of that train called. I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:04:48 What's that train in Harry Potter, white people? I don't. Huh? Nobody remember? I've never seen Harry Potter. Me neither. Me neither. And they have this bear butter.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Bear back. No, it's a bear butter drink, which is not like real beer, but it's something that's in the movie that they serve at the park. It was amazing. I'm having a good time. Today is actually SeaWorld, so I'm enjoying my stay out in Florida, Kissimmee, Florida. I'm having a great time. I never went to SeaWorld.
Starting point is 00:05:13 The reason I don't like to go to SeaWorld is because I feel like that's just a fish prison. I don't like zoos and stuff for the same reason. I don't like seeing all of them big whales held captive and being told to do tricks. It reminds me of slavery. Free Willy. Exactly. You know what I'm saying? I don't like SeaWorld held captive and being told to do tricks. It reminds me of slavery or something. Free willy. Exactly. You know what I'm saying? I don't like sea world.
Starting point is 00:05:29 I've never been to sea world. Yeah, well, that's the only opportunity my kids are going to be up close and personal to see whales and dolphins and all those type of sea animals. This vacation is very active for you. Yeah, very active vacation. You know, when I go on vacation, the difference between me and my friends is they want to go out. They want to go to parties.
Starting point is 00:05:45 I just want to lay around, sleep, go to bed early, wake up. I want to do that, but I got five kids, and my five kids think differently. And Charlamagne knows they want to go out. They just don't want to sit at the beach and just sit at the pool. That's all I want to do. It don't matter what your body wants to do. No matter how much sleep you need. When I go on vacation next week with my friends, I already know they're going to be like,
Starting point is 00:06:05 let's go to the club. Let's go here. Let's do this. Let's go on this excursion. I'm going to be like, uh. Now the club is out of it unless I'm working, unless I'm getting paid.
Starting point is 00:06:12 The club is out. I ain't going no byproduct. But if you're with a bunch of your friends and they don't normally do that, you'll feel like, all right. Yeah. And the Hogwarts Express. The Hogwarts.
Starting point is 00:06:22 That's what the train is called. Yeah, the Hogwarts Express. That's what the Harry Potter train is called. All right. Well, let's get the show cracking. We got the cast of Power joining us this morning, right? We're not the whole cast. We have Natari Norton and Joseph Sikora joining us, a.k.a. Tasha and Tommy.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Okay. It was Joe's birthday yesterday, I think, too. Yes, it was Joseph Sikora's birthday. Yes, because him and my daughter got the same born day. That is a fact. Okay. All right. Well, let's get the show cracking.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Front page news, what are we talking about? Let's talk about Justice Anthony Kennedy. He is retiring, and we'll tell you what that means for all of us. All right. We'll get into all that when we come back, and guess what? It's Bae's birthday tomorrow. It's Bae's birthday tomorrow. Now, see, that was whack.
Starting point is 00:06:57 That first one you had was hitting. Oh, I'm not going to lie. I thought he was talking about Gia. I was like, oh, it's Gia's birthday, too? The last day of Bae's? No, it's not the last day of Bae's birthday. One more day to Bae's birthday. There you go. One more day to Bae's birthday.
Starting point is 00:07:10 The last day of Bae's birthday. One more day to Bae's birthday. What a rhyme. One more day to Bae's birthday. There you go. There you go. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Hey, so at least you got some theme music for the weekend, though. You could have waited until next week. Nah, B. Okay. All right. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Let's get in some front page news. Now, Judge Kennedy retires. Let's talk about that. Yes, Justice Anthony Kennedy has retired from the Supreme Court. So his retirement is effective July 31st. How does that affect us? Well, that means that Donald Trump will be able to nominate a justice who will replace Kennedy and somebody who will be even more conservative.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Now, Justice Anthony Kennedy has been very instrumental in certain key things like abortion rights, making sure that we have pro-choice rights available to us. Also, affirmative action. Also, gay rights marriage. Okay. Gay marriage rights. So we have equal rights for people who want to get married no matter what their sexual orientation is. And so when somebody new is appointed
Starting point is 00:08:12 who will be appointed by Donald Trump, that person will have effects for decades to come. Here's what Donald Trump had to say. We have a pick to come up. We have to pick a great one. We have to pick one that's going to be there for 40 years, 45 years. Now, often Kennedy was the swing vote between the four liberal justices and the four more conservative ones. So we will see this could be actually really detrimental to us.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Isn't it the second time that he had to pick the Supreme Court justice since he's been in? Or is it the first time? I'm not sure. This is the second opportunity to nominate a Justice. I'm going to be honest with you. I think it's going to be Kanye West. Drop one of the clues bombs for Donald Trump and Kanye West. I think it's going to be Kanye West as the new
Starting point is 00:08:58 Supreme Court Justice. It'll probably be somebody very young, very, very, very conservative. You should have said Kim Kardashian. It might have been more Kim. 40, 41. That is young amongst that circle. If it ain't Kanye, it's going to be Kim, but I think it's going to be Kanye. I think Kanye is going to be the new Supreme Court justice.
Starting point is 00:09:14 You heard it here first. Run with that today at work. If you get drug tested, don't blame it on me. My goodness. Alright, now what else are we talking about? We are going to talk about two cops who have been charged. Now, Georgia cop Zachariah Presley, he's white. He turned himself in yesterday. And that is for the June 20th slaying of Tony Green. He was the officer was chasing a vehicle with Tony Green behind the wheel. And after he stopped that vehicle, both Tony Green
Starting point is 00:09:43 and the passenger ran. That's when there was a scuffle, and Presley fired and struck Green repeatedly and killed him. So he has been charged in that death. The Georgia cop has been charged in that death. And the East Pittsburgh officer who killed Antoine Rose, unarmed Antoine Rose, who was only 17 years old, has also been charged. That's big, because police officers don't usually get charged with criminal homicide. They usually get charged with manslaughter or something like that. The fact he actually got charged with criminal homicide says a lot. But he was only
Starting point is 00:10:12 on the force for two hours. Does that mean that he hasn't He just got sworn in. Yeah, he wasn't on the force long enough to get that blue shield of protection. That might have been the shortest ever. We don't know you, bro. We've been working with the rest of us for years. We got dirt on each other. We don't even know you, doggy. You got to go.
Starting point is 00:10:26 All right. Well, that's front page news. Now, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you're upset, you need to vent, hit us up right now. Maybe you had a bad night or it's a slow morning and you just need to vent a little bit. Or maybe you want to spread some positivity. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:10:43 What's up, you? I just want to say I'm exhausted this morning. I spent the whole entire day. Shout out to everybody who came out to Juices for Life and got tested yesterday because it was National HIV Testing Day. But I'm going to let you know right now, I was there until like eight o'clock last night. So I am exhausted. But I got tested and a lot of people came out and did as well. Anybody pass the test when they wanted to fail it? I didn't ask anybody. Don't ask nobody that. Oh, you don't see right there in the moment?
Starting point is 00:11:07 You do see, but I'm not going to ask them what happened. Hey, how'd you do? Nobody burst into tears? Nobody burst into tears. You had to be calmed down? No. Oh, okay. Alright, well get it off your chest. Call us up right now. The number again is 800-585-1051. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:11:31 It's your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or blessed. You better have the same energy. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? What's up, everybody? Hey, Trav. What's going on, Trav? Hey. Hi, Trav.
Starting point is 00:11:41 How you doing, cutie? How are you? I'm doing good. What's up, Charlamagne? What's up, sis? I want to hear how you're doing, cutie. Oh, Trev. How you doing, cutie? How are you? I'm doing good. What's up, Charlamagne? What's up, sis? I want to hear, I want to know how you doing, cutie. Oh, how you doing, sexy? Hey!
Starting point is 00:11:51 It's your birthday. It's my time for the birthday bitch tomorrow. There you go. Tomorrow's my birthday. Okay, I'm celebrating my last day of my 30s tonight, though. Okay, listen. Well, first, I want to start off with saying, Lee Daniels, you too old to be a messy bottom.
Starting point is 00:12:06 They already gave you a date. They trying to craft coins. You out here just proving stereotypes. But I just want to talk about something serious real quick. Because I called recently and talked about this kid, this eight-year-old who was killed by his mom's boyfriend for being gay. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, unfortunately, there's a child
Starting point is 00:12:26 named Anthony Avalos who is 10 years old. And I just want to bring attention to this story because he just recently died. He informed his family that he liked boys. Child services were called like 13 times on his family due to abuse reported by his
Starting point is 00:12:42 teachers, neighbors, etc. And the system really failed him. And unfortunately, he was reported by his teachers, neighbors, et cetera. And the system, like, really failed him. And unfortunately, he was killed by his mom's boyfriend. And I just want to say to everyone out there, man, before you have kids, sit down with the other parent and ask if they have any animosity towards the LGBT community. Listen to how your partner talks about the LGBT community and really decide if you want to have a child with this person because you don't know who your child is going to like.
Starting point is 00:13:04 You don't know who your child is going to love. You don't know who your child is going to love, and you really just shouldn't be out here. This is a really upsetting story, man. That's real. You're 100% correct, sir. Well, Trav, thank you so much for calling and sharing that with us and for that excellent advice. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:13:16 All right, hello, who's this? What up, DJ Envy? What's up, bro? Who's this? Charlamagne Tha God. No, it's not. You're not Charlamagne. I'm Charlamagne.
Starting point is 00:13:24 How are you, sir? I'm good. I'm good. Get it off your chest, bro. How do you know I got to get it off my chest, Envy? I sound stressed already? You do. Well, nothing.
Starting point is 00:13:35 I'm taking my kids on a cruise. And, you know, the exes being a little difficult and just giving me my son's passport and my daughter's birth certificate so that we can take one little vacation or whatever. But nothing. There's a lot going on right now, so just trying to stay positive, you know? I'm not going to argue with her. Nothing crazy like that.
Starting point is 00:13:54 That's good. Going there knowing that you're not going to argue. That's great. And it's for the kids. There you go. That's it. So I wish you guys the best. And we have fun at SeaWorld today.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Yeah, we're going to have a lot of fun today. And where are y'all going? Where are you trying to go on your cruise? Oh, I'm taking them to Jamaica. And somewhere else. You don't even remember. You don't even know. Some island he came out.
Starting point is 00:14:18 I don't know. Yeah, if I'm the baby moms, I wouldn't give you the passport either. You don't even know where you're going. Don't get robbed in Jamaica, bro. What is going on? Thank you, brother. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:14:30 If you need to vent, hit us up right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Let's go. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're man or black. Let's get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:14:42 We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. So if you got something on your mind, lay it out. Hello, who's this? chest. Whether you're man or black. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Alaya from Charleston, South Carolina. 843, what's happening? Nothing much. I just wanted to go ahead and spread some positivity this morning and reflect just a little bit on my own life
Starting point is 00:15:01 which is going pretty well right now. I'm 25. I'm living well right now. I'm 25. I'm living by myself now. I actually went back to school after about three years off, and I graduated. I got a job straight out of school, so I'm just happy about how my life is going right now. So if I can do it, anybody else can do it too.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Well, congratulations, baby, repping that 843 so thoroughly, waking up this morning with such a positive, optimistic attitude. You know when you appreciate where you're at in life, you get blessed with more. You do know that, right? Yes, you're right. And you know what? Happy early birthday to you, too. Thank you, baby.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I appreciate that. Oh, I do have one more thing to say, though, because I always seem to get through on the radio and everybody at home is like, please give us a shout out. There you go. To all my friends and family on Johns Island, this one's for you. Hey, Johns Island, what's happening? All right.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Hello, who's this? This is Yolanda Broad, repping Duvon, Florida. Duvon! Yeah, y'all know what it is. You know what it is. Get it off your chest, mama. I got a problem. I've been with my man for a year,
Starting point is 00:16:03 and he said I can't come to his house. That's because he got a whole family at his house? That ain't your man, mama. I got a problem. I've been with my man for a year, and he said I can't come to his house. That's because he got a whole family at that house? That's what I was thinking, but I asked him for his job, and they know he's not married. And I asked him, and he was like, there was no place for a queen.
Starting point is 00:16:20 He was like, he got spiders. He got all this stuff. I don't believe that. Either he got a whole family or he live at home with his parents, one of the two. I hope not because he be telling me he be growing trees and everything at his house. I don't think he, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:35 I don't know why he won't let me go. Smoking weed? You just don't know, okay? And if somebody doesn't let you come to their house, there's definitely something going on there. Does he spend holidays with you at least? Yeah, he do. Can you call him anytime
Starting point is 00:16:45 and he picks up the phone? Yeah. Let me rephrase. Which holidays? The big ones? Thanksgiving? Christmas? Valentine's? We was together on Christmas and on my birthday. Oh, okay. Well, yeah, I think he lives at home with his mom. Your birthday's not a holiday.
Starting point is 00:17:01 I hope he don't live at home. Ask him if you live at home with his parents. Say, listen, it's okay if you live at home with your parents, boo. He won't let me meet his mom either. Damn, boo. You ain't his girl. All right, now. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:17:11 You just a hole in his life, boo. He might have another hole girlfriend. That's all. Well, f*** me. Damn, don't go say F to man and you ain't even figure it out yet. He's giving you some options, okay? Get to the bottom of this and get back to us. All right.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Well, thank you, Mama. I just made her upset. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, you can hit us up at any time. Now, Eve, we got rumors on the way? Yes. Lamar Odom, he has a new venture that he'll be going into.
Starting point is 00:17:36 I'm not sure how I feel about this. Also, rest in peace to Joe Jackson. We'll give you some more information on Joe Jackson's passing, and our condolences go out to the family. Alright, we'll get into all that when we come back. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:17:54 It's DJ Envy Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. What's happening? Good morning. Now, tonight, today is Charlamagne's last day in his 30s. What can he do? Y'all should tweet him right now. Hit him up on Instagram and tell him what he should do on his last day.
Starting point is 00:18:11 I don't need no suggestions. I got this all figured out, okay? All right? It'd be something you've never done before. Something that you've never done before. I am doing something I've never done before, and that's turning 40. Now, you got to try something. Hit Charlamagne up right now and tell him to suggest what he should try.
Starting point is 00:18:26 I don't know what he hasn't done, though. Correct. Okay, there you have it. Well, let's get into rumors. We'll be talking about Lamar Odom. Hey! This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee. Rumor has it.
Starting point is 00:18:40 On The Breakfast Club. So listen up. Well, Lamar Odom, we told you before that he's venturing into the cannabis business. He has a brand called Rich Soil Organics. He says that herbal remedy actually assisted him through rehab, and he found certain strains that support wellness. Well, now he's going to be doing a book, a tell-all book, a memoir, and it's going to be on shelves for February.
Starting point is 00:19:06 So are you guys excited? How do we feel about a former crackhead being in the drug business now? It makes me feel a little funny. Sounds a little weird, right? Yeah. It's like being an alcoholic and opening up a liquor store. Yeah, I did feel weird about it,
Starting point is 00:19:17 but then he's saying it did assist him through rehab, so I don't know, you know. I don't know about that one. I mean, I get it, but I don't get it. It feels a little scratchy. Now, are you interested in his book? I would definitely read Lamar Odom's book. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:30 I guess he's going to be also talking about what led to the end of his marriage with Khloe Kardashian. You were smoking crack. And this whole thing where he got hospitalized, he overdosed on the brothel. He'll be revealing everything that went on behind closed doors in the hospital and what the world didn't get to see in his rehab. I love a good smoking crack story, so I'm definitely going to be into Lamar Odom's book. All right. Braxton Family Values. They've all walked off the show. They're saying everybody except for one cast member showed up. That was Tracy. She showed up. They were all scheduled to shoot in Atlanta. And so because only Tracy showed up,
Starting point is 00:20:06 everybody got sent home. They said they're refusing to return to work until the network and the production company renegotiate their contracts for the second half of season six. They're saying they feel their wardrobe and travel stipends are so low it's laughable and they want their salaries increased as well. I would think that they can
Starting point is 00:20:22 get whatever they want because that's a hit for WeTV. They've been a hit for WE tv for some years. They're under contract until season 9 and right now they're in season 6. So they got an NFL contract. So they're playing good and they're trying to cash in on their money before they get too old and have injuries set in. Well also because sometimes when you initially make a contract
Starting point is 00:20:39 you don't realize what a hit something's going to be and then you might want to renegotiate. What kind of deal did they sign a day in contract until 2009? Well, not nine. What did you say? 2009 pass. The nine, season nine. Season nine, yes.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Yes. All right. Season six. I mean, it could have been maybe they renewed early on, like, you know, in the third season and said, who knows? But apparently they want some more money. And why they didn't tell Tracy that they all wanted more money? I don't know. She showed up. I don't want to be the one person
Starting point is 00:21:07 that showed up. Why Tracy didn't get a phone call from the rest of the sisters? Sometimes you have a group text message and some people like to turn their alerts off and they miss the text. Alright, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, they have been ordered to pay $25 million. They got it. Yeah, they definitely have it
Starting point is 00:21:23 for unpaid royalties. And that is to Stephen Lamar after ruling that they hadn't paid him for some design work that he did on three models of Beats headphones. So they argued that at first Lamar was only owed royalties on the first model, and he sued them, and eventually the jury agreed that he did do what he was supposed to do. So now they're paying $25 million. What's his name?
Starting point is 00:21:45 Stephen Lamar. Drop on the's his name? Stephen Lamar. Drop on the clues bombs to Stephen Lamar. Get your goddamn money. And Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Drake got it. They don't got no excuses to pony up that $25 million. All right. All right. Wendy Williams.
Starting point is 00:21:56 She says that her life has completely changed since she got her Graves disease creeping back last year. She sent in a video message and this was played at the Graves Disease and Thyroid Foundation. They have a patients and family conference. And she said the disease had been being controlled with medication, but it returned because she had the wrong dosage. So apparently she said everything was fine. I had the radioactive iodine medication, taking my pill a day, minding my business.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Then back in the fall or around July of last year, I started feeling weird. I'm thinking maybe it's a casualty of menopause or we're ramping up for season nine of the Wendy show. Who knows what it is? But she said it wasn't until she passed out on the show that her life has completely changed. And she said the doctors say it's going to take at least six months to maybe a year to level off her medication, which is why she's always wearing flats. She can't wear heels anymore. She's always falling, tripping. She said the illness sometimes makes her off balance.
Starting point is 00:22:51 Well, God bless her, man. That's why I sat on her lap back in the day, because I understood what she was going through. Shut up. No, you didn't. So she asked me to do that because it'd make her feel better. You were forced. So I sat on her lap. Well, hopefully she managed to get everything under control again.
Starting point is 00:23:03 All right, Joe Jackson is dead at 89 years old. Dropping the clues bonds for Joe Jackson. Yeah. Greatest disciplinarian the world has ever seen. He died at a hospice in Vegas. He was moved there a couple of days ago. And he died at 3.30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. They said that his wife Catherine had been at his bedside.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Some of his children and grandchildren were there as well. He'd been having health problems for quite some time. He got hospitalized a couple of years ago. He had a high fever, and then he came back. He also had a stroke and three heart attacks back in 2015, and they had a pacemaker in him as well. Joe Jackson raised a superstar in Michael Jackson who was damn near worth a billion.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Another superstar in Janet Jackson that was worth damn near half a billion. And he raised a bunch of other kids that used to be millionaires, okay? He had ten kids. They still are, I think. And y'all giving that man flat, calling him a bad father. Meanwhile, you got kids in jail. Paris Jackson posted as well,
Starting point is 00:23:57 RIP the Hawk, Joseph Jackson, spending those last few moments with you where everything, being able to tell you everything I needed to tell you before saying goodbye was such a blessing. Drop on the clues, Bonfitt, Joe Jackson. You know, I interviewed him once. Really? Did you?
Starting point is 00:24:08 Yeah, random. Your son out here about to go to prison for selling mid for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, Joe Jackson got all his kids caked up out here. You critiquing Joe Jackson on his disciplinary ways. All right, I'm Angela Yee, and that is your rumor report. All right, thank you, Miss Yee. Now, up next, we got front page news. What are we talking in front page news, Yee?
Starting point is 00:24:26 We are going to be talking about U.S. adults. They don't get enough exercise. I'll tell you what the percentages are. Okay, we'll get into all that when we come back. Keep it locked. This is The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:24:37 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get some front page news. Now, we need more exercise. Yes. Now, only 23% of U.S. adults get enough exercise. That's according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, what they say you should be getting. How much exercise do you think the average person between the ages of 18 and 64 should get?
Starting point is 00:25:06 Three to four times a week. Are they breaking it down by hours or weekly visits to the gym? They said at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous physical activity each week at least, as well as muscle strengthening activities at least twice a week. More than that, I think. No, they're saying the average person, they recommend that you get at least that amount. So, you know, it would be great if you Well, more than that, I think. No, they're saying that an average person, they recommend that you get at least that amount. So, you know, it'd be great if you could do more than that,
Starting point is 00:25:29 but they're saying minimally that's at least what you need. And that's good, but none of that matters if you're not, you don't have the right diet. Yeah, so you got to have the right diet to go along with that as well. Right, and it also varies a lot state by state. They said the state that had the highest percentage of adults that meet the guidelines with 32.5% is Colorado. Colorado?
Starting point is 00:25:47 Colorado. Oh, you know why? Because they're all out there smoking Acetiva, and Acetiva make you kind of hyper and kind of anxious, so you just want to go do something, so you just go run. A lot of the states with the highest percentages are states that are cold weather states. So that's places like Colorado, New Hampshire, Massachusetts. You would think it would be warmer states, but I guess in these cold weather states, they do a lot of leisure time,
Starting point is 00:26:07 physical activity. Maybe they do things like skiing, snowboarding, and things like that. So some states that fail to meet that goal were in the south, like Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Take your unhealthy ass to the gym, man. Okay, you only got one body. I would never understand people who treat material possessions in their
Starting point is 00:26:24 life better than they treat their own body. And even if you don't go to the gym, there's a lot of outdoor things you could do. A lot of times people feel like, well, I need to work out somehow, somewhere. Maybe walk instead of driving certain places. Do some goddamn push-ups. Just make sure there's certain things that you do. Wake up and do a 100 clip real quick. Yeah, that ain't easy for most people to do a 100 clip, bro.
Starting point is 00:26:39 All right, Justice Anthony Kennedy, he's a conservative who was a judge at the Supreme Court, is retiring, and that's going to be effective July 31st. This is very important to us because he was a conservative who also provided key votes that helped support same-sex marriage, abortion access, and affirmative action. So who is Donald Trump going to appoint next? That's going to be the question, and that could actually have some major, major, major, major, major impact on us. Here's what Donald Trump had to say. We have a pick to come up. We have to pick a great one. We have to pick one that's going to be there for 40 years, 45 years.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Listen, I have it. I have reliable sources. The next Supreme Court judge is going to be none other than Kanye West. Drop out of whose bombs for this. This is an exclusive. I'm telling you. Cite your sources, bro. It don't matter. We don't care about that in 2018. It don't matter what the cite of the source is. Okay, Kanye West will be the new Supreme Court judge appointed by the real Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:27:41 But we should know by November, around midterm elections. All right, I'm Angela Yee, and that is your Front Page News. the real Donald Trump. But we should know by November around midterm elections. Alright, I'm Angela Yee and that is your Front Page News. Alright, thank you Miss Yee. Now when we come back, we have some of the cast from Power joining us. No, we don't. We got two people. Well, I said some. That's some. A couple. Tommy and Tasha. There you go.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Tommy and Tasha will be joining us when we come back so we'll kick it with them. Did you say their real names? I was about to. Latari Norton and Joseph Shakura. There you go. We'll talk to them when we Jesus Christ. Notori Norton and Joseph Shakura. There you go. We'll talk to them when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Everybody, it's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Degas. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Now we have some of the cast of Power in the Building, Joseph and Notori. Good morning. Hey, good morning. Now, Notori, Tasha slept with Ghost's lawyer. She slept with Ghost's driver. I knew this was coming. He didn't want Ghost to stop selling drugs.
Starting point is 00:28:28 When is the divorce happening? Is it this season? Can we count on it? FYI, let's be clear. Can we count on the separation? Ghost started it. Thank you. He didn't actually.
Starting point is 00:28:36 He started it. You know what's funny? I got a lot of comments. You know, why Tasha thought and Tasha's thought and this year. And I'm like, wait a minute now. Now, first off, her husband, Ghost, has been sleeping with Angela for four seasons. But no, Tasha just needed love, too, and the lawyer filled a space. Do you know the PTSD that women suffer from a cheating man?
Starting point is 00:28:54 Women are supposed to be better than men. Yes. We, yeah. Well, at least she didn't cheat with the lawyer. That probably helped out. Yeah, but it's always the closest people to you, the lawyer and the driver. That's true. It's because, you know what, I can trust them.
Starting point is 00:29:08 But I really can't. I can't trust. No, but this year, Terry Silver, played by the amazing Brandon Victor Dixon, is awesome. And I'm excited for people to see how that love affair kind of grows. You know, in this season, Tasha sleeps with Tommy. No, that's not going to happen. Only once, though. Oh, you know what? Stop it. Before people really, this season, Tasha sleeps with Tommy. No, that's not going to happen. Only once, though. Oh, you know what?
Starting point is 00:29:26 Stop it. Before people really, people already was trying to get us together. I'm not that bad of a friend. I'm not going to steal Lakeisha's man. Lakeisha played by Lala. I would never do that. So, no. Tasha and Tommy are just going to be brother and sister.
Starting point is 00:29:38 Now, how come you don't have Tommy with that? Because he's been, he's slept around with a couple people on the show. Double standard. Thank you. Because he's a thug who sniffs coke, okay? So it's okay for him to do that. Yes, it's right on brand with him to be doing that type of thing. That's right, that's right.
Starting point is 00:29:53 It's in character. Charlamagne's on it. At least somebody's been watching the show since the beginning. How did Raina getting killed affect your characters? You're the mother, you were the uncle. How did that affect y'all emotionally? For me, it was so emotional because, you know, I'm a mom now. And playing that part, it was hard to kind of remove myself.
Starting point is 00:30:16 I mean, seeing a little beautiful girl being shot on screen, people were calling me up like, y'all can't do that. That's messed up. And I'm like, hey, I mean, this is the beauty of our show. The writing is unpredictable. Courtney Kemp kills it. Gary Lennon. Our entire writing staff is amazing.
Starting point is 00:30:33 But for me, it was hard to watch. So how it affects my character is that Tasha this season, she's broken. This is the first time you won't get to see the glamorous, beautiful, pulled together, snatched Tasha St. Patrick. You will see a broken, vulnerable one. What about you? I think it makes Tommy really introspective because he sees something like this is a casualty of that kind of lifestyle.
Starting point is 00:30:57 And I think that it makes him say, and this is what I've dedicated my life to and this is how it's affected me. Rather than if it's somebody that's on your level or you're like, hey, that's what you signed up for. It's harder to say that. I mean, a million times harder when somebody innocent and that's somebody that's part of your family and is killed by something that they certainly don't deserve, but yet you're loyal to this thing. So I think that it really makes you take a look inward at yourself, and that's what Tommy is doing consistently this season. Who's the most hated character right now, you think?
Starting point is 00:31:27 Dre. Right now, Dre is, he going to get it. Not your son? Tariq? I mean. Yeah, Tariq. I don't think we too much care for Tariq, man. Tariq, yes.
Starting point is 00:31:38 I mean, Michael Rainey is killing it. Michael Rainey Jr. plays Tariq. He's just not listening to me. And sometimes people are like, he need a whooping. He needs a lot of discipline that I tried to give him. You see, Tasha tried to give him a smack season three and he caught my hand. He's acting
Starting point is 00:31:54 out. I'm praying for him. What would you do in real life if your child started going down the wrong path like Tariq? That's what I'm saying. He would need his good, good spanking. I know that sounds like super corny. But that parenting, it kind of is your guy's fault because you aren't paying,
Starting point is 00:32:09 there's too much going on in your lives that he's able to get away with doing all these things without you guys even really knowing what's happening. Really, Tommy's the only one that kind of... Tommy does check him a little bit, but somebody's going to have to check him this season for sure. Somebody's going to have to. I think it's tough for Michael to play Tariq.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Because Tariq gets so much flack, and I've seen Michael react as if they're really talking about him. Like, he's come at me, and I'm like, I don't know you, Michael. Well, first of all, you talked about his looks, Charlamagne, which has nothing to do with his character. I was talking about his character on the show, though. Are you trying to come for my son? What are you doing? You stay trying to come for me and my people. I think I said he looked like the little dinosaur.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Remember that old movie, the old TV show, Dinosaurs? No, that has nothing to do with it. That's him. That's his real life looks. Like, you insulted him. That's like, what was that insulting? That was like when Charlamagne called my nipples chocolate kisses. Do you remember that?
Starting point is 00:33:00 Huh? Yes, when Charlamagne called my nipples chocolate kisses. That's inappropriate. Hershey's kisses. Let's brand That's inappropriate. Hershey's kisses. Let's brand that. Oh, Hershey's kisses. Let's have them send some. Totally inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:33:10 You're funny. Totally inappropriate. But to call him a dinosaur, that's his face. He can't change it. I can't change my nipples. Why? Just stop. I look like Joe Camel.
Starting point is 00:33:18 That's not good. And it was in context of Tasha on the show. Yes, yes. Not Notori's nipples. Yes, yes. I said Tasha. But see, they're mine. Those are real life people. That's like if people talk aboutasha on the show. Yes, yes. Not Notori's nipples. Yes, yes. I said Tasha. But see, they're mine. Those are real life people.
Starting point is 00:33:27 That's like if people talk about you on the radio. It's not like I have prosthetic nipples. That would be weird. That's true, that's true. They're not fake. We started a hashtag for Lala's Tatas. Oh, did you? That was the hashtag.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Lala's Tatas. Oh, okay. All right. What's the biggest downfall of playing Tommy and Tasha? Because we talked about, like, you know, Michael and stuff. And even when Omari was here, he was like, he don't want to be trapped in the character of Ghost. So is there any downfalls of playing the characters of Tommy and Tasha
Starting point is 00:33:54 in your real life? I think mainly just keeping the work at work and not bringing it home. Sometimes it's pretty intense. And, you know, my wife is just like, you know, leave that. Don't, you know. You're Joseph here. know, you get the eyes or something like that. Listen, tough. Sometimes we forget. Tough guy.
Starting point is 00:34:10 I sometimes feel like the downfall is that just with mainly with men, I think there's this idea that I really am Tasha. Like they're watching season one through three and there's a lot of sex and they're just like, yo, it's good. It's almost like when i was little kim it's it's hard to to remove yourself from what they see on tv people almost idolize that woman and i'm like get to know me like that's not me all right are y'all afraid of being stuck in these characters though will you be tommy and tasha forever i've been acting for so long that i
Starting point is 00:34:44 never even think about it. That it's always like, hey, when Tommy's done, I'll do the next thing. You know, I'm grateful that people are like, no, you're Tommy for life. That's fantastic. And a big shout to Fifth because Fifth said this season one. He goes, look, Joe, when you win your whatever award, people are going to be like, you know, you know the one where Tommy played the doctor. Tommy played the doctor. Tommy played the doctor.
Starting point is 00:35:05 So it's like you're stuck in somebody else's head. That's a good point. The character of Kanan is like 50. And shout out to 50 because he's fantastic on the show and he's a great boss. We're emotionally invested in your character. And these characters are growing every year so you feel like you know
Starting point is 00:35:22 them because every season you're like, that's my girl. Or you're yelling at the TV like, don't do it. Don't sleep with him. Why are you doing that again, Tasha? The driver? I'm not mad at you and the lawyer, though. I mean, thank you.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Thank you, Angela. You better do what you gotta do. He's out here having fun. I mean, yeah, he's an intelligent. And you're not sleeping with your husband anymore, so. We're not even together. We're technically separated. I mean, if y'all go back,
Starting point is 00:35:46 he did ghost-served me divorce papers. So, I mean, they haven't been signed because Angela got him in jail and, you know, that whole situation. Did that make you hate Spanish women in real life? Oh, God. Of course. No, not of course.
Starting point is 00:36:01 I'm saying... No, I was... I'm sorry. We're on the radio. No, I'm sorry. We're on the radio. No, I know. Because we're on the radio, they would have been like, of course. You can't see me, but I was laughing saying, of course he would. Uh, no.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Negative. Not at all. All right, we got more with the cast of Power. Well, some of them. Joseph and the Tory in the building. Keep it locked. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:36:24 It's DJ Envy Angela Yee. Charlamagne Tha God. We, some of them. Joseph and the Tory in the building. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Envy, what are you over there drinking? Uh, water. Why? Okay. Anyway, well, let's get to the rumors. Let's talk. Monique! It's about time. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:36:42 Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is The Rumor Report. Talk to Report. This is the Rumor Report. Talk to them. With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. Well, Monique secretly recorded a phone conversation that her and her husband, Sidney, had with Tyler Perry. And rolling out actually obtained those secretly recorded conversations. And some of what happened in this conversation was Monique said she wanted to talk to Madea instead of Tyler Perry
Starting point is 00:37:07 because ever since Tyler Perry became a billionaire, he's been different. Check it out. I would ask you to let Monique talk to Madea because when you start talking in Tyler Perry language, brother, you talk like you don't get it. I dig Madea because that bitch is real to her gut and she don't give a f*** how I come out,
Starting point is 00:37:24 but everybody knows she love you but she's gonna tell you the real see when you stepped away from madea and you became tyler party the billionaire this is the conversation you're having like well guys what do you want me to do see you a brother that slept in your car and you needed to fight for you to get you up out the goddamn car so it's okay to record people without their permission now? It's okay to secretly record people? That's what Monique's on now? That's okay to everybody?
Starting point is 00:37:50 All right, now, in addition to this, she plays part of the conversation where Tyler Perry is actually telling Monique he is going to get her her money from the movie Precious. I'm going to call and sign down whatever money is coming in for Precious, and I'm going to send that to you. I'm going to call and find out whatever money is coming in for Precious, and I'm going to send that to you. I'm going to send that over to you.
Starting point is 00:38:09 Whatever it is, I'm going to send it to you. I don't want you to feel one day, not one day, is that you were mistreated or that you were treated unfairly. Now, if that means that's what I need to do, then you do that. You take that and take it from a place of love. Wow. So all the, I don't understand what that, all the money that was coming in from Precious?
Starting point is 00:38:29 I'm sure that she's old. Not, this is all the money coming in from Precious. I'm sure the money that she's old, he's going to make sure that she gets. I'm assuming that's what that means. But are we forgetting the fact that she's secretly recording this phone conversation now? Like, what is she trying to do by,
Starting point is 00:38:43 what is she trying to prove by doing that? I guess she's trying to show people that, you know, back up what her claims are. Show us the truth then, I guess. Listen, man, if she thought nobody was going to deal with her before, then nobody's definitely going to deal with her now. I got to worry about you recording my phone calls now. Now, she also has part of the conversation with Tyler Perry
Starting point is 00:39:00 talking about his problem with Monique. If somebody had come along and said, Tyler's just a terrible worker, he's terrible to work with, he's not going to do anything that you want him to do, and there were other people who knew that was not to be true, I would want those people to stand up and say that's not true. Will you and Oprah do that? I can't speak for Oprah.
Starting point is 00:39:18 I've never worked with Monique. All I can speak for is my experience on Precious. What made my interaction displeasurable is to try to navigate between Precious. What made my interaction displeasurable is to try to navigate between Precious, Lee, Monique not wanting to do any national press without getting paid. Having to navigate through all of that.
Starting point is 00:39:33 That's where my problem was. If Tyler thought that was displeasurable, I wonder what he's going to think of him getting secretly recorded as he's having a phone conversation trying to straighten something out with the individual that's mad at you. I'm on the phone trying to straighten something out with the individual that's mad at you. I'm on the phone trying to straighten things out with you, and you're going to secretly record me and put me out.
Starting point is 00:39:51 I'm sitting here trying to help. Y'all respect that kind of stuff. See, the problem is we don't know what else happened before this conversation, after, what the follow-up was. We just know the part that she wants us to know. Yeah, it seems like he's trying to help the situation. It doesn't seem like he's trying to hurt or try to discredit her at all.
Starting point is 00:40:09 That's lame. That's whack. There's nothing honorable about that. All right. Well, somehow, Rolling Out got that conversation, I'm sure. What do you mean somehow? Cindy sent it. Cindy sent it.
Starting point is 00:40:20 Somehow they got their hands on this secretly recorded conversation. Allegedly, Monique's husband sent it. All right. Now, thousands paid respect to XXXTentacion at the memorial service that was in Florida. We told you guys they had the BB&T Center in Florida had a huge memorial. And Lil Yachty was there, Lil Uzi Vert, Ski Mask, the Slump Guy, Denzel Curry, all of them showed up, as well as thousands of other people. And that just went down yesterday from 12 to 6. They said people were not permitted to bring cell phones into the arena.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Sammy Sosa recently did an interview, and he was with Sports Illustrated talking about his whole skin bleaching thing. There was a lot of things he talks about in it, but one thing that really stood out, you know, people always talk about Sammy Sosa's skin color. He said, look at what I am today. This is my life, and I don't take garbage from nobody. I do whatever I want. So this interview took place in Dubai in a, you know, obviously very luxurious hotel, and he was pointing to the luxury around him,
Starting point is 00:41:21 saying he doesn't care what the critics think and have to say about him. Now he said he's been using a bleaching cream that he applies before going to bed and that whitens his skin tone as well. It's a cream that he uses to soften his skin, but it has bleached him some. Yes, by the way, that is real skin bleaching, people.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Okay, y'all be liking to clown me and say I bleach my skin. All right, no. They didn't call you Sammy Sosa. No, there's no way you could call me Sammy Sosa. All right, look at what Sammy Sosa used to do. Charlotte Sosa. No, there's no way you could call me Sammy Sosa. All right, look at what Sammy Sosa used to do. Look at him now. Is that what you use? Man, shut up.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Give me the hell of a look. Now he said that he was constantly called a steroid baby while Sammy Sosa's son, Sammy Sosa Jr., was once a Major League Baseball prospect, but he was bullied as a child because his father was accused of using performance-enhancing drugs as a player. He said he was constantly called the steroid baby while growing up, but he never told his father what he had endured. And now he said he doesn't speak with his father about what people say online about his skin.
Starting point is 00:42:18 I'm going to be honest with you. It don't matter if you think that people look at you as a damn fool because you still look like a damn fool, regardless, whether you care or not. Okay. Do the skin bleaching allegations hurt your feelings? No, not at all, because I didn't bleach my skin. And if I looked like Sammy Sosa and people was clowning me for that,
Starting point is 00:42:38 I deserve to get clowned. I mean, he's happy with the way he looks, obviously. He likes it. I don't believe that. No way. He keeps doing it. No way. He just doing it. No way. He just went too far.
Starting point is 00:42:46 He went too far. He's trying to, I think at this point, he's trying to reverse the effects of it, trying to even it out or something, and it still looks crazy. There's no way you can look, there's no way Sammy Sosa can look at himself in the mirror and be happy with himself. You guys do look alike. Man, shut up. No, we don't.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Not even in the least bit. I'm Angela Yee, and that is your rumor report. All right. Thank you, Ms. Yee. Charlamagne. Charla Sosa. One day to Bae's birthday. One day to Bae's birthday.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Hey. One day to Bae's birthday. Hey. One day to Bae's birthday. Hey. Now, who you giving that donkey to? Lakeith Stanfield. He needs to come to the front of the congregation.
Starting point is 00:43:25 We like to have a whirl with him. All right. We'll get into that when we come back. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. This don't be a donkey, because right now you want some real donkeys. It's time for Donkey of the Day.
Starting point is 00:43:38 So if you ever feel I need to be a donkey, man, hit me with the heel. Did she get donkey in the name, please, Deli? Absolutely. I have become donkey of the day. It's The Breakfast Club, heel. Did she get donkey in the name, please, Deli? Absolutely. I have become donkey of the day. Breakfast club, bitches. You're a donkey. Yeah, it's donkey of the day for Thursday, June 28th. The last day of my
Starting point is 00:43:53 30s, by the way. Goes to the young brother of Lakeith Stanfield. Now, you probably know Lakeith as the odd but perceptive, most of the time, high earn on FX's Atlanta. Drop one of Clues Bom bombs for FX's Atlanta. Darius. Oh, yeah, Darius.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Earn is... That is Donald Glover's character. Yes, Darius. You're right. Same thing. Now, if you have ever met Lakeith in person, then you know he kind of gives off Darius vibes. Okay, I actually saw him a couple times last week.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Good dude. Slight serial killer potential. Okay, just one of those people if you see somewhere, you tell your people to watch him. Okay, like if he ever committed a random act of terrorism, we would be shocked, but not like shock-shocked. Okay, basically what I'm saying is, Lakeith Stanfield, as brilliant of an actor as he is,
Starting point is 00:44:36 is prone to do something stupid. And that day has come, ladies and gentlemen. See, Lakeith Stanfield is a great actor, a terrible rapper, and when he first rapped for us a couple years ago here on The Breakfast Club, I tried to tell him. Let's flash back to that moment. My mind's an isotrophically balanced cipher.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Suck on my siphon. Longer than Whiteman. Sound bites to your ink is how you turn into Tyson. Burning the mic, she's like a virgin that tight. That make tracks drip something burgundy like. Bills looking right because I don't break them, I make laws. And burn down courthouses high off a baseball. Sliding in to save this rape
Starting point is 00:45:06 raw and infinite like my 96 M&M and 8 balls. Pause. That's it? Nah. You spit something. I don't rap. Charlamagne is mean. I'm not mean.
Starting point is 00:45:22 I was just trying to save Lakeith from himself because I knew that if Lakeith kept rapping, eventually something bad would happen, and that's where we are right now, ladies and gentlemen. See, Lakeith Stanfield has a movie coming out nationwide on July 13th, and it's called Sorry to Bother You. But just a couple weeks before his movie is set to be released, he is under fire for using homophobic terms.
Starting point is 00:45:40 See, Lakeith posted a video on IG with the caption, offensive freestyle, not pretty easily offended. He posted this video with the caption offensive freestyle, not pretty easily offended. Let's hear these Basura bars. Boy, you're dressed like trash. You were 86. Take that choke chain back. That's some gay.
Starting point is 00:45:58 It's only black rags. I'm racist. I don't really like to brag, but I'm straight. Bitches out the ass like I'm racist. I don't really like to brag, but I'm straight rich. Fucking bitches out the ass and I'm famous. And all these gays are getting mad because they hate this. Fuck you, boss. More ass gas. Turn up the ass gas.
Starting point is 00:46:16 Lakeith, that just ain't it. Okay? It will never be it. I will never encourage you to pursue a rap career. You're too dope an actor to be wasting your time trying to be Safari. Okay? You are Lakeith Stanfield, not Lakeith Murray.
Starting point is 00:46:26 And the most beautiful thing in this world would be for you to shut the F up forever when it comes to rapping. Not to mention, Lakeith, you know what era we live in? People love to be outraged,
Starting point is 00:46:35 so why give them anything to be outraged about? Okay? Women are demanding their respect. LGBT are demanding their respect. So they're not trying to be disrespected or hear language
Starting point is 00:46:42 that they deem, you know, disrespectful, especially from someone with a voice and platform like yours. You in Hollywood, you work side by side with gay people every day, all day. Why didn't you just turn to one of your gay colleagues and ask them, does this offend you? No, no, no, no. Scratch that, scratch that. I don't have to ask a gay
Starting point is 00:46:58 person if the gay slur that rhymes with maggot is offensive. Okay, that would be stupid on my part because I can't stand when people ask me questions that they already know the answer to. Okay, that would be stupid on my part because I can't stand when people ask me questions that they already know the answer to. Okay, I know the F word in the gay community is super offensive. That's literally line one in chapter one of what not to say to gay people, okay?
Starting point is 00:47:14 Lakeith, you should know better than that. But that's not the only reason I'm giving Lakeith donkey of the day. The reason he's getting donkey is because of this lame-ass apology and excuse he came up with as to why he released his freestyle using homophobic terms. Can we hear the apology, please? I make videos all the time, which I usually end up deleting as soon as I make them. And they assume characters.
Starting point is 00:47:36 I assume characters that have different viewpoints and different views on life and just from different perspectives. And some things my views are in line with and some things my views aren't in line with. And this character that you've seen is a character I'm definitely not in line with and I definitely don't believe those things. So I just want people to know, like, coming from me,
Starting point is 00:47:59 I've never been homophobic, have never agreed with homophobic thought or hatred toward anyone for that matter. Could you fart on that clean up, please? Fart all over that clean up. There you go. Give me some ass gas for that excuse. See, this is the problem with these artsy Negroes. These artsy Negroes
Starting point is 00:48:18 always want to conceal their BS under the guise of some type of art. If you can post that freestyle with the caption offensive freestyle, not for the easily Okay, if you can post that freestyle with the caption offensive freestyle, not for the easily offended, then you can also type this is a character I'm playing. But you didn't type that because you pulled that excuse out your ass
Starting point is 00:48:31 after you got the backlash for doing the freestyle with homophobic terms. Okay, you know how we know you pulled that excuse out your ass, Lakeef, because you told us the freestyle was offensive in the caption. You said it was not for the easily offended. Okay, if your intent was to offend,
Starting point is 00:48:45 then why are you now apologizing for intentionally offending people? I know why. Because you got a movie coming out in two weeks. Sorry to bother you, okay? And those film people and your agents and your manager got on your ass and told you if you don't get out there
Starting point is 00:49:00 and apologize right now, it's going to be consequences and repercussions, okay? Lakeef, I don't think you're homophobic. Okay? But one question. If you love the LGBT community, then why would you purposely offend them? Please give Lakeith Stanfield the sweet sounds and the hammer tones. Oh, now you are the donkey of the day.
Starting point is 00:49:22 You are the donkey of the day. You are the donkey. Of the day. Yee-haw. All right. Well, thank you for that donkey of the day. Well deserved. Just smarten up, Lakeith. That's all smart enough.
Starting point is 00:49:36 Come on. Come on. All right. You're smarter than that. Now, when we come back, ask Yee. 800-585-1051. If you've got a question for Yee, call her right now. Hit her up if you need relationship advice.
Starting point is 00:49:48 Any type of advice should help you with all your problems. The number, again, is 800-585-1051. Ask Yee. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:50:01 It's time for Ask Yee. Hello, who's this? Kim. Hey, Kim. What's your question Ask Yee. Hello, who's this? Kim. Hey, Kim, what's your question for Yee? Okay, so I am 45, and I am dating a 30-year-old. Okay. And I'm trying to figure out how can I get him to mature? He's so immature.
Starting point is 00:50:22 Of course, you know, it's a 15-year difference. I understand that, but he's really sweet, you know, it's a 15-year difference. I understand that. But he's really sweet, you know, really loving and caring. But I'm getting a little irritated. I kind of feel like I'm raising my son. You cannot force somebody to be more mature than what they really are. There's a lot of things in life that people kind of have to go through to learn, just like we did, you know, when we were young.
Starting point is 00:50:41 We had to go through certain things to grow up. You can't tell somebody what to do. They have to live it, experience and grow from it. So there's going to be certain things that he does. Listen, part of the reason why you like him is part of the reason why you don't like him. I'm sure there's a lot of things about him being 30 and sweet and young and untarnished in the way that, you know, somebody older might be. You probably really like those things about him. But, you know, what comes with that is the fact that there's a lot of things he hasn't experienced.
Starting point is 00:51:09 So in some ways he is immature. So you do have to be patient because that's just who he is. It's part of the process. Yeah. And one more thing, like, I don't drink. I've never done any drugs, never smoked anything. And he drinks. And that is irritating to me.
Starting point is 00:51:25 Well, when you started dating him, he was drinking, right? Well, we only saw each other on the weekends. So he always told me that he doesn't drink through the week. Listen, it's probably irritating to him that you don't drink. Yeah. You know, sometimes people have to, if that's what a person does, like, it's just who they are. If he can accept the fact that you don't drink, because sometimes I'm sure he's like, damn, I wish my girl could just have a drink with me and loosen up a little.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Yeah, he said that before, yeah. Right. So I think for both of you, you know, the differences is probably what brought y'all together in some ways because opposites do attract. But then you can't get mad at those differences and try to change a person, because that's when you guys really won't get along. Yeah, you're right. Thank you. All right, you're welcome. Good luck, Mama. ASK-YEE, 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:52:14 If you got a question for Yee, call her right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're in the middle of ASK-YEE. Hello. Hello. Hey, Anonymous Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're in the middle of Ask Yee. Hello. Hello. Hey, Anonymous.
Starting point is 00:52:28 Good morning. Good morning. What's your question for Yee? Hi, Yee. Hey, what's up? Hey, so I was involved with a guy for about six months. We worked together. We eventually got really close and just kind of tried to explore to see if we could be together.
Starting point is 00:52:43 And recently he kind of broke it off because he didn't like my attire. He didn't like that I wasn't driven and focused enough for him. Sheesh. It was pretty offensive. Yeah, damn. It was. He kind of came for me a little bit. And so.
Starting point is 00:52:58 Did he have any valid points in your opinion? Did he have any valid points in your opinion? I mean, I would definitely say I'm a free spirit, but drive and focus and ambition is kind of what I look for most in someone. So I would like to think that I have those qualities as well. Okay. I mean, I'm in my career. I've done school, so I'm on my way.
Starting point is 00:53:15 And I guess, you know, him, he's being a couple years older. He's not where he wants to be yet. He's taking it out on you. Okay. I mean, that's what it feels like. Being a little insecure with where he's at in life. So he came for me a little bit. We've hung out a couple times after that,
Starting point is 00:53:30 trying to keep it a little more platonic, going on walks and things. But it's getting really hard, and it's kind of making it hard for me because it seems like maybe he's still a little interested. But then again, you did just kind of come for me. Right. So he broke it off with you, but he still wants to hang out with you. That's right. And you're still just...
Starting point is 00:53:48 I don't know if it's because we actually still have interest or because we work together. So I'm just trying to make sure it's, like, not awkward. Well, it seems to me like you're rolling with whatever he wants. Yeah. I guess I'm kind of tired of letting him be in control of the situation. And are you okay with letting him be in control and being at whatever... If he wants to hang out, y'all hang out, if he doesn't, you don't? I mean, not really, because I mean, I still have feelings involved with it, so it's hard, but I do want to hang out with him. I guess I just need to know what his intentions are, and that's...
Starting point is 00:54:17 Well, you'll never know what his intentions are unless he tells you. Have you asked him? Not since you broke it off. Well, then you guys need to have a conversation. Listen, if he can feel comfortable asking you to go for walks and do things and hang out and kind of treat you like you guys are dating but not be dating and you just do it, he's not doing anything wrong. Now, if you ask him, look, I'm confused. I don't
Starting point is 00:54:38 know what's going on between us. It seems like you like me sometimes, but you did act like I wasn't ambitious enough for you. You broke things off with me. I just need to know I don't want to just waste my time hanging out with you if there's nothing about to happen. So just be straight up and be honest with me. Okay, that's true. No hard feelings.
Starting point is 00:54:55 I just want some honesty so I know what I need to do and make my decisions on what I want things, how I want things to happen. You know, you can't let people control your relationship. You gotta be in control, too. I agree. And if he doesn't want what you want, then you gotta be out. Right. I'm only hurting myself if I stay, so I get it. Sometimes you just need to hear it from somebody else.
Starting point is 00:55:18 I know. I know you get it, girl. Thank you. Alright. Good luck. Good luck, mama. All right. Ask Yee. 800-585-1051. If you need relationship advice, you can hit Yee anytime. Now we got rumors on the way, Yee.
Starting point is 00:55:33 Yes, let's talk about Damon Dash. And since all this stuff is going on today with Monique recording Tyler Perry secretly, let's see what Damon Dash has to say about Lee Daniels. All right. We'll get into all that when we come back. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors.
Starting point is 00:55:50 Let's talk Damon Dash. It's time. She's spilling the tea. This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. All right, well, Damon Dash is saying that Lee Daniels is a culture vulture. Now, it all started with,
Starting point is 00:56:08 as you know, I'll give you guys a recap, Damon Dash saying that he lent Lee Daniels some money for a movie. Check it out. He approached me about a script called The Woodsman, and I believed in the script. And, you know, I had the money, and he told me, like, no one will cut the check,
Starting point is 00:56:23 as culturally we don't stick together. And I had it, and I wanted to be in the movie business so I gave him the two million dollars he didn't have to go to court to get it it wasn't in payments I gave him a flat two million and we made our money back so then he came to me and he had this script shadow box and he was like and I was like this shot this script is like a little crazy and I was like I just you know I got my two million back I this is my working capital. I'm independent. I'd rather put this into me now. All right. Now, according to Damon Dash, he still never ended up getting his money. Here's what else he said happened with Lee Daniels. And he was like, listen, man, I'm going to showcase my directing skills here.
Starting point is 00:56:57 You'll get your money back in a month. I promise you three months tops. Just do this for me. Let's keep sticking together. You know, you got your money back. So I said, all right, cool, but just make sure i get my money back no matter what and the movie ended up costing more like 10 million other investors had to get in it and i lost control and i could we didn't get our money back all right well this is why now when damon dash went on tmz live he says that lee daniels is a culture vulture check it out this is what i consider a culture vulture. Check it out. This is what I consider a culture vulture. Someone that takes from the culture, even if you're black, he's black and he's really disrespecting a good black man that tried to help him and exploits the culture or his subject matter is about the culture.
Starting point is 00:57:36 But when it comes time to even pay back the culture that helped you, he just has no explanation. And I tried to work it out with him. Listen, man, when Dame Dash is right, Dame Dash is right. Right? And he's absolutely correct in this whole situation. I need my money, bruh. Absolutely. So he's now suing for $5 million. This ain't something that I think I'm deserving of. This isn't something
Starting point is 00:57:58 I think I'm owed. I gave you $2 million. Run me my money back, bruh. They had some back and forth, though. Because I think Lee Daniels sued him as well, didn't he? I don't know. Yeah, there definitely was some back and forth. Listen to me. Listen, Big Daddy. You pay that man his money
Starting point is 00:58:13 back. Why you saying it in that voice? I don't know, but let's move on. Ty Dolla Sign. He's accused of trying to get a woman seeing eye dog kicked off of a plane because he has dog allergies. So he was seated.
Starting point is 00:58:28 This is crazy. This story is crazy. In front of the woman and her dog. And he explained he was allergic to dogs. But unfortunately, the woman is blind. And her seeing eye dog, she had already gotten approval for it. It's not funny, man. Drop on a clues bomb for Ty Dolla $ign. No, don't approval for it. It's not funny, man. Drop on a Clues bomb for Ty Dolla $ign.
Starting point is 00:58:46 No, don't you do it. That man got Ty Dolla $ign. I might die on this plane because of this dog. The lady can't see. Hey, man, you'll be all right for a few hours. But here's something that I didn't know. Because the woman did offer him an allergy pill, but he declined because he didn't want to take medication before a show. He ended up having to just sit on the plane.
Starting point is 00:59:01 You just want me to take a random pill from a stranger? They offered to put him in the back of the plane. He said no to that. Hell no. I paid for first class. I'm even more seated in front of JetBlue. But if you do have allergies, you have to let the airline know ahead of time, which is not something that I ever have thought about doing
Starting point is 00:59:15 because people can get their dogs cleared to fly on the plane. So if you don't let them know, they're not going to accommodate you. But they say that all the time. That's why they say sometimes you can't have pause, pause, pause, nuts on the plane or you can't have certain type of. But you have to let them know before you get on the flight. You have to let them know if you have nut allergies, if you're allergic to animals or whatever, because all that matters.
Starting point is 00:59:34 And they're not going to accommodate you. I feel so sorry for that blind lady. I wish she could see Todd Dolla $ign so she could curse his ass out. And I wish she could stick his dog on him. But I also understand where Todd Dolla $ign is coming from, too. I see both sides. his dog on him. But I also understand where the dollar sign is coming from, too. I see both sides. Right. All right.
Starting point is 00:59:46 Floyd Mayweather has a new watch that he says costs $18 million. He said it's called the Billionaire Watch. And he said if you don't know about it, Google Billionaire Watch. First of all, here's the thing. You call it a billionaire watch, but I guarantee you no billionaire is on it because no billionaire is going to spend $18 million on a goddamn watch. I'm sure some prince or somebody over in... And what if it ends up being worth more as an investment piece?
Starting point is 01:00:08 And it's not worth no damn $18 million. It's a Jacob & Company watch. It's not like a classic timepiece like a Rolex or an Audemars. Oh, so it's really not worth $18 million? Or a Patek. It has 239 emerald cut baguette diamond stones, each weighing up to three carats. I don't think it is. I agree with 50 Cent when he posted yesterday.
Starting point is 01:00:26 They found the one fool dumb enough to buy this watch. Okay. Y'all sound like some haters. So what, Yeet? So what if we want to hate? Sorry, you guys are billionaires. All you girls out here buying $18 million watches. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:00:37 So what? Damn. So what if we want to hate a little bit on that? And Floyd is cheap. I know Floyd didn't pay $18 million. It might be worth $18 million. Tell him it'd be cheap-ass, nigga. Floyd ain't going to buy a pair. I don't even know that. And Floyd is cheap. I know Floyd didn't pay $18 million. It might be worth $18 million. Tell him it'd be cheap-ass, nigga. Yeah, Floyd ain't gonna buy it paid.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Hold on. So now y'all are saying that Floyd is cheap? No, he's a smart man. He ain't gonna pay $18 million. Don't moonwalk. He's cheap. He's not gonna buy that $18 million. Can't wait to hear what y'all have to say bad about... And the watch fake, from what I heard. The watch ain't fake. Shut up. I can't wait to hear what bad y'all going to say about this.
Starting point is 01:01:05 I heard the watch is fake. Cypress Hill is getting a star. I heard the diamond's real, but the watch is fake. Cypress Hill is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and so is Tyler Perry, Lupita Nyong'o, Anne Hathaway. Alvin and the Chipmunks will be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Pink, Teddy Riley. Hey, drop one of the clues, Vaughn.
Starting point is 01:01:22 Teddy Riley deserves it. Drop one of the clues, Vaughn. He definitely deserves it. Teddy Riley. God bless the gods called Guy, bar now, you're talking my language. Drop on the Clues bar for the OG Teddy Riley. God bless the gods called Guy. Aaron Hall, Damien Hall. You know that's one of my favorite R&B groups of all time. I love Guy. But, Alvin and the Chipmunks?
Starting point is 01:01:36 I mean, they're classic. Yeah, they are classic. I never respected Alvin as the lead singer of that group. Why not? I feel like Simon is the brains of the group. Theodore! Theodore is the charismatic one that all the girls like. You know what I'm saying? Alvin just gets a lot of the credit for the work that Theodore and Simon puts in. Not Alvin puts it in.
Starting point is 01:01:52 Nah, bro. Yes, he does. I'm gonna be honest with you. I was just trying to find a way to hate on that story. You see, how you gonna hate on that Alvin and the Chickpucks, man? Miss Angelina said I couldn't. Okay. You can definitely find a way to hate on the Alvin and the Chickpucks. Alright, and don't hate on this. The daytime stage at our iHeartRadio Music Festival. Definitely not going there.
Starting point is 01:02:08 Why not? Let me hear this story. Why not? Just don't feel like being there this year. I'm with you. Go with it. All right, tickets to our daytime stage VIP suite go on sale. Well, they are on sale.
Starting point is 01:02:17 You can get them for $179 per ticket. Go to iHeartRadio.com slash tickets. You get access to the VIP pit in front of the stage, access to the VIP entrance to the Vegas Festival grounds. Indoor air conditioned seated options and the Chipmunks. Oh, okay. Indoor air-conditioned seated options
Starting point is 01:02:45 and private food and area drink. And you get to watch Logic, Lil Uzi Vert, and Belly from the comfort of... Lil Uzi gonna be there? Yes, he is. My little sassy savage? You been knew he was gonna be there.
Starting point is 01:02:56 We talk about this every day. I don't be paying no attention. Logic is outside? He's not inside? He's outside. iHeartRadio.com slash tickets to get your tickets. So who's the black acts this year then? If Logic... Well, Logic ain't all the way black. He's outside. iHeartRadio.com slash tickets to get your tickets. So who's the black act this year, then?
Starting point is 01:03:07 If Logic, well, Logic ain't all the way black. He's black. He's half black. What is wrong with y'all? Stop hating on everything. Who's on the inside then? Oh, okay, so he's half black. So he's doing half of his performance during the day,
Starting point is 01:03:17 and he's doing the other half at night. The other half at night. Yes, that's how it's called. He said, who's on the inside? Yeah, who's doing the inside stuff? Usually they got the black artists on the inside. One black artist at least. Exactly, I wonder who's the main black artist at iHeartRadio. Hey, you guys stay tuned. Raish Merman? Oh, drop on the clues bombs for Raish Merman. Oh, they's doing the inside stuff? Usually they got the black artists on the inside. One black artist at least. Exactly, I want to know who's the main black artist that I heard this from.
Starting point is 01:03:25 Hey, you guys stay tuned. Ray Sherman. Oh, drop on the clues bombs for Ray Sherman. Oh, they got Ray Sherman. Okay. All right, I'm not mad at that. All right, well, that's your rumor report. All right, thank you, Mr.
Starting point is 01:03:35 I got to say, peace to Revolt, too, man. Yeah, Revolt, see you out of the bar. All right, all right. Now, Charlamagne, can you just do me one favor? Nope. When you're in Anguilla and you see LeBron, I'm really trying to get him on the New York Knicks. So just have that conversation if you see him.
Starting point is 01:03:48 You think I'm not talking to him if I see him? Yes, you are. Why would you not talk to LeBron? I'm minding my business just like I hope him and his family mind their business. You wouldn't say hello to LeBron. First of all, you know Charlamagne Lyon. I'd say hi. He lying. Say hi. Just give him a New York Knicks hat.
Starting point is 01:04:03 I'm not even a Knicks fan. But your state doesn't even have a team. So? So you're a New York Knicks fan now. No, I'm a state neutral. I don't got to choose no sides. My goodness. All right.
