Starting point is 00:03:33 This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. Well, Chris Rock is doing a reboot of the Saw franchise. Now, according to Deadline, he did approach the producers of Saw and he has a spin on this franchise that they absolutely love. They said, when Chris Rock came to us and described in chilling detail his fantastic vision that reimagines and spins off the world
Starting point is 00:03:51 of the notorious jigsaw killer we were all in. I'm going to be honest with you. I didn't even know Saw wasn't around no more. I didn't know Saw got discontinued. How many did they do? Four of them?
Starting point is 00:04:01 I didn't. I feel like they just put a Saw movie out. Oh, no. They did seven movies. They did seven movies in six I didn't. I wasn't sure. I saw all of them. Oh, no. They did seven movies. They did seven movies in six years. When did the last one came out? Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:08 2017. That's what I'm saying. The eighth one came out in 2017. All right. I knew I wasn't tripping. I was like, I feel like... I didn't know they had that many. I saw one through four.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Clearly, I didn't see the last four of them. So, I guess he came to them with another idea for Saw IX, basically. Some type of spin on it. So, I guess they're doing something. Yeah. It's hard for me to watch horror movies, man. I don't pay people to scare me. I love horror movies.
Starting point is 00:04:31 I know you do. When I'm at home, that's all I want to watch. When I go to Netflix, that's what I look for. I don't pay people to scare me. And the best time to watch a horror movie is when you're on a long flight. That's when I see a lot of them. Nope. But they don't have that many on there now.
Starting point is 00:04:43 All right. Congratulations to Trey Songz. He's had a baby. His son's name is Noah. He said, we are blessed and overjoyed. Peace. Well, congratulations to Trey. Straight for a shout?
Starting point is 00:04:54 Yes. All right. Dropping the clues, bounce the trigger. Congratulations. He don't rock with the Breakfast Club, do he? Yeah. I thought he was acting crazy last time he was up here. I wasn't here.
Starting point is 00:05:04 He said we're negative. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He did. Now, a lot of people gave him, you know, congratulations, including Lori Harvey, who he was dating before he had the baby. 50 Cent put, what you talking about, Willis? So I guess it just kind of came out of nowhere. But there was a woman who previously had claimed that she was pregnant by Trey Songz.
Starting point is 00:05:23 Now, no word on whether or not adult film star Brittany Jones is the mother, but she was the one that was posting a sonogram and saying that she was pregnant by him. And that's their business. You don't have to tell nobody, hey, she's expecting. They don't even got to tell nobody when the baby came if they didn't want to. Not at all. But he did post pictures, so now everyone knows. So now everybody's got to weigh in on it.
Starting point is 00:05:43 All right. Ric Flair is expected to make a full recovery fortunately for him he's been having some health complications he was rushed to a hospital yesterday morning after suffering a medical emergency and they said he was in the atlanta area when something went wrong but they are saying now his wife is saying he's going to make a full recovery he's undergoing a procedure this morning and they do expect that he will be okay after that. I mean, Ric Flair is not a young man.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Ric Flair is 70 years old. Let's keep that in mind. All right, Odell Beckham Jr., he's not happy with Colin Coward. Now, I guess they were doing a Family Feud-themed list of Odell Beckham Jr.'s top moments, and here's what happened. So when you go back to the 10 biggest moments in Odell Beckham's career, one great catch, one great commercial, and a lot of nonsense. I mean, that's my problem.
Starting point is 00:06:35 I like him. I've talked to him. Long talk. I think he's an all-time talent. Well, Odell went to social media and said, Now you've gone too far, bro. I understand nobody listens to your show, but stop using my name to get clout, bro.
Starting point is 00:06:50 I let you say and do whatever you want, but you've gone too far now, so here's the attention you wanted and desperately needed, I see. I had respect for you after talking on the phone. This is the ish I'd be talking about with the bold TV people who see you in person and have completely different convos. All of those moments got better ratings and attention than any of your shows ever.
Starting point is 00:07:08 And that's not something I'm bragging about because I'm not proud of those. And then he goes on to say, honestly, I really hate to even give you the spotlight. Just put some respect on my name as you're talking about me and my family to boost your TV shows and ratings. If I was great, then you and others wouldn't talk about me this much. I don't hear much talk about anyone else at all. Odell's been in the league, what, like five years? About four or five years, yeah. Yeah, Odell's had a pretty good career.
Starting point is 00:07:32 He's had a good career. It wasn't just a catch. At 5,000 plus receiving yards? Yeah. Like 44 touchdowns? You want to know what they put in this top 10 moments? What? Peeing in the end zone, fight with Norman, meltdown in tunnel, commercial with Eli, Paris hotel room, proposing to Nett, fight with Nett, boat, and then traded to Browns and the catch.
Starting point is 00:07:52 I mean, the problem with Odell is he hasn't won any big games. Super Bowls, he had no big games. You never had no playoff success. You never had no Super Bowl success. That's the issue. But, I mean, as far as regular season, nah. When he's on the field, he balls out. He balls out. Yeah, he absolutely did.
Starting point is 00:08:07 You're a fan, right, Envy? Yeah. Even though he's not playing for your team anymore? I'm a Giants fan. So, I mean, I wish him well, but I'm a Giants fan. All right. Well, I'm Angela Yee, and that is your Rumor Reports. Listen up.
Starting point is 00:08:21 It's just in. All the gossip. The Rumor Report. Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's the Rumor Report. This just in. All the gossip. Gossip. The Rumor Report. Gossip. Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's the Rumor Report. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:08:29 All right, well, Howard Stern was on The View, and one of the hosts, Sunny, was questioning him about his past and saying that she found his show to be offensive because he would use the N-word a lot, and Howard Stern denies that. Check it out. I found your show so offensive. Thank you. That's what I figured right you were shocked you use the n-word a lot um you
Starting point is 00:08:51 use the n-word wait a second hold on i remember it whoopee hold on wait wait no we have a guy on from the ku klux klan yes who very freely use freely used the N-word. And my belief was, hey, say it out in the open. I didn't use the N-word. Let's be very clear. As a long time Howard Stern listener, that is a lie. Well, a lot of people started pulling up old things. They actually pulled up an old skit of him using the N-word. Ted, I must say that I can't believe you're still in blackface after the fryer's roast controversy oh hush up i hate blackface i just can't get this off beside whoopie dunn wrote
Starting point is 00:09:33 everything i'm gonna say here tonight so it's all right ain't that right you smelly nigga oh i didn't write that well you use a smelly nigga all right so i'm sure he's you know and you said he's used the n-word a lot of people have heard him use it. I don't know why he would act like he didn't. Maybe he forgot. He's 65 years old. Okay. Well, she did admit, Sonny said that she did change her opinion after reading his new book, which is a collection of interviews that he's done over the years, which is what he was promoting.
Starting point is 00:10:00 So I'm reading this book now. I mean, he takes accountability for so much. And I mean, the reason I respect him taking accountability is because he doesn't have to. Howard Stern is filthy rich. He doesn't answer to nobody. So for him to say he was wrong about a lot of the things that he used to put on the radio and a lot of the content that he used to put out. And he was just doing it for entertainment. And he was just doing it for ratings.
Starting point is 00:10:18 I mean, I got to accept that. I got to respect it. All right. Essence Festival has announced that Michelle Obama will be their headliner. Wow. So that's going to be amazing. That's going to be dope. Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:29 Their 25th anniversary Festival of Culture that goes down in New Orleans, July 4th to the 7th. It's going to be some white women practicing their electric slide to go down to Essence this year. And I'm sure we've all gone to see Michelle when she talks. Michelle Obama talk about becoming and go to one of her I went to the Barclays when Michelle Obama was at the Barclays for her book
Starting point is 00:10:48 Becoming Her Memoir now don't y'all go down there trying to gentrify Essence now alright even though Michelle is for all people she gonna be with
Starting point is 00:10:56 her sisters that weekend yes it is don't start practicing your cha-cha slides and your electric slides now to go down there to Essence electric slide be
Starting point is 00:11:03 popping to Essence now Lonnie Love is hosting this year so that's dope love lonnie love so congratulations to her she's doing a lot of great things right now and she's the first female ever to host which is shocking to me at the essence festival yes who's hosted in the past though i don't know but i did not realize that i would think that essence would have a woman hosting every year all the time i think i'd never really remember a host hosting every year. All the time. Especially around the color, yeah. I'm trying to think. I never really remember a host at Essence, though.
Starting point is 00:11:27 When I think of Essence, I think of black women. I remember a host at Essence, though. That is true, too. I've never heard nobody say they're hosting at Essence. No, they don't host Essence. They perform. Mary's performed last year. They do their podcast there now.
Starting point is 00:11:38 No audition. I've never heard anybody say it. Nobody host it. Okay, now, Beyonce, we told you yesterday about her Uber IPO and how she made like $300 million. And that's what everybody was reporting. Well, now they are actually doubling back on that. They did some fact checking and they're saying that actually she made about $9 million off of Uber. So what happened was...
Starting point is 00:11:57 I go from $9 to $300. Okay, so what happened was she accepted stock as a performance fee for singing at an Uber corporate event. The company went public. So there was a rumor that her investment was now worth $300 million from the stock that they gave her. But what happened was instead of accepting her $6 million paycheck, she requested to be paid in stocks. And today, that's what they were saying originally. But what happened was she was given $6 million worth of restricted stock units, not 6 million shares. So that's where, I guess, the discrepancy was. People were reporting that it was 6 million shares.
Starting point is 00:12:31 That's what would have been worth $300 million. But it was really $6 million worth of restricted stock. Still smart as hell. She's supposed to get 6 million. That's worth 9 million. She made it. It's 9 million. So that's still small.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Great business move. Yeah, still a great business move. Yeah, I'm going to sit around and pick apart how Beyonceyonce made millions of dollars all right you know people exaggerate everything all right well i'm angela yee and that is your rumor report all right thank you miss yee hey fam i'm waiting for him to swallow swallow listen i know it's freaky freaky freaky friday stop talking to me i'm just asking you yeah You know what? You could even be Blac Chyna in arm wrestling, man. First of all, you could not be Blac Chyna
Starting point is 00:13:09 in arm wrestling. You were struggling. You were sweating. The day when she left the room, you said, yo, she pretty strong. Blac Chyna is stronger than I thought, but, come on, man. I was playing. No, you wasn't playing. You were stressing. Yo, he was shaking. He was sweating. One time he looked at me, stop! Leave me alone! Let me concentrate! And you know it's cold. It's freezing in here Yo, he was stressing. Yo, he was shaking. He was sweating. One time he looked at me.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Stop. Leave me alone. Let me concentrate. And you know it's cold. It's freezing in here. And he was sweating. Look, she had this arm wrestling trick. No, for real.
Starting point is 00:13:34 It's the way she positioned her wrist. And that's why she wanted to do it on a certain surface. It's a trick to that. It's about body weight. So you think that she just goes around and arm wrestles people? Yes. That's why she was like, let's arm wrestle. That's her trick. It's like a magic trick.
Starting point is 00:13:44 You're a grown ass man. When people go to the gym every day, you talk about all the plates that you push up. Hey, guys, leave me alone. She does have her arm. Her muscle was popping out. It's about time. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:13:58 Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is the Rumor Report. With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. Well, Will Smith and Queen Latifah are teaming up. They're going to be producing a movie that puts together Shakespeare and hip-hop Romeo and Juliet. So it's going to be a hip-hop musical of Romeo and Juliet, and that's for Netflix. That's like Shakespeare's most famous work ever, so I'm sure you guys all want to see that. I love the story of Romeo and Juliet, too.
Starting point is 00:14:24 It's a musical? Yeah. A hip-hop musical. I'll watch it. Yeah, I'll watch it. I mean, listen, Will Smith and Queen Latifah are cultural icons. And, you know, I'm a Pinkett Smith, Winfrey Knowles Carter. So I would watch that.
Starting point is 00:14:36 I don't know how I'd be feeling about musicals a lot, though. I love musicals, only if they're well done. That's what I'm saying. They have to be well done. If it's well done, a musical is amazing. It's going to be a young waitress from Brooklyn who falls in love with an inspiring musician from a wealthy family. Yeah, see, I get annoyed. We watching the waitress bring the food to the table and then she just break out in the song.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Like Alicia Keys, remember? The whole restaurant and the dance routine. Oh, that was crazy. And the meal she ate definitely gave her diarrhea. What meal was it? It was like, what meal she ate definitely gave her diarrhea. What meal was it? It was like, well, the meal he ate because it was like
Starting point is 00:15:07 collard greens and yams and all kind of stuff. Coffee. I can't wait to see this iconic story remixed with the Montagues and the Capulets,
Starting point is 00:15:16 Romeo and Juliet. I don't know what you're talking about. You know, I took Shakespeare in college. I love, I've read like every Shakespeare play.
Starting point is 00:15:22 All right, now let's talk about Drake. He posted a picture of himself on social media and people are trying to say he has fake abs. In particular, Carnage said, you got fake ab surgery in Columbia. You ain't fooling anybody. And he responded
Starting point is 00:15:38 in this cause, you are angry about the one thing that happened with that one person the other day that you thought was your wifey. And then Joe Button said, because he saw Dr. Miami and didn't tell y'all. Stop hating. Take your ass to the gym. All of y'all that's hating and complaining.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Take your ass to the gym. Drink more water. Do some ab work. Cut carbs out your diet and you too can have abs, sir. What do you think? How did Drake look to you? Photoshop. You're a hater, man.
Starting point is 00:16:03 That's not hate look. It's I'm a vote. If you have a vote, you can take a look. It's definitely Photoshop. You're a hater, man. No, that's not hate. Look, it's on Revolt. If you have Revolt, you can take a look. No, it's definitely Photoshop. You're a hater, man. How do you Photoshop abs on? He wouldn't go to Dr. Miami, though. He'd go out of the country to get all that work done. You're a hater, man.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Or he would fly the doctor to him. Yes, exactly. That makes more sense. Get it done right in the six. All right, now let's talk about David Letterman. Got six back in the six. David Letterman's Netflix interview series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. Season two is coming out, and the first trailer is officially here.
Starting point is 00:16:31 So you can see he's going to be with Lewis Hamilton, Tiffany Haddish, Melinda Gates, Ellen DeGeneres, Kanye West. Check it out. Please welcome our guest here tonight. When you're bipolar, you have a potential to ramp up, and it can take you to a point where you start acting erratic, as TMZ would put it. Were you ostracized in high school? No, we'd be on dates with our boyfriends and run into the bathroom and make out and go back to our boyfriends. Going to so many auditions, I've been told, you're too black, you're too light, you're too ghetto, you're not ghetto enough. I've been rejected all my life
Starting point is 00:17:05 okay i watched those i enjoyed david letterman's conversations with people very interesting last season was great yet howard stern on there barack obama hove so i'll be tuned in for this one okay now let's talk about hallie berry she was on the red carpet right getting ready for her new movie and i guess her press people were trying to rush her along and rush her past the black press people. There were only two black press people on the carpet and Emerald Marie TV actually recalls what happened while she was waiting to do the interview. Oftentimes black reporters and black outlets are pushed to the end and unable to get the proper interview that they need. Well, Halle Berry interviewed with everybody as she approached approached myself, I was the only black woman on the carpet,
Starting point is 00:17:48 and there was only one black male. As soon as they got in front of Lamar and myself, her PR said that she had no time to speak to us, and they began to walk away. And she looked at me, and she looked at Lamar and said, No, I can't skip my brother and my sister. That's dope. That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Yeah, I mean, when you're an artist, you know, a person like that, you have to be intentional about that because a lot of these PR firms don't know anything about our culture and they don't realize for whatever reason that hip-hop is pop culture. So, we run the world, so they still run to all of these quote-unquote
Starting point is 00:18:21 white outlets because they think white ice is colder. So, the artists have to be intentional about saying, no, I want to talk to Ball Alert. I want to talk to J-Rogue. I want to talk to... The Breakfast Club. Yeah. You know what? Ali's done that before. When I was on vacation, my daughter seen her and she wouldn't take pictures with
Starting point is 00:18:37 people. And she seen my daughter and was like, come on, I'll take a picture with you, sister. And took a picture with my daughter and I thought that was dope too. So shout out to Halle Berry. So she didn't know she was Dominican. That's what she... We're all black and brown. I'll take a picture with you sister and took a picture with my daughter and I thought that was dope too So shout the holly berry so she didn't know she was Dominican My wife is Puerto Rican Jamaican and Chinese what's wrong with you you didn't say all that just nice that your daughter's have black half Too, half Dominican. Just admit it for once. Dominican never came out of my mouth. You know what? You want me to be Dominican so bad. You are.
Starting point is 00:19:10 You guys, can I finish what I'm doing? And the last thing I have to say was, Common's book is out, Let Love Have the Last Word, and he talks about, to People Magazine, about being in a breakup with Erykah Badu that was so hard that he couldn't even eat. He said he was in a haze just going through the motions, but he said he was in another breakup after that one that was heavy and
Starting point is 00:19:28 that was the one that sent him to therapy all right well i'm angela yee and that is your rumor report happy friday see mommy i uh revolt i still have way to go for two weeks y'all come in here for two weeks don't say minus revolt y'all taking another break Y'all just came back Wow Jesus Christ So yeah Revolt What is Diddy buying now Oh my god So y'all going for two weeks
Starting point is 00:19:55 He said a gym Is he really I don't know That is a disgruntled Caucasian cameraman. Probably. Who is upset. Two weeks off. Probably.
Starting point is 00:20:09 He's buying a gym for school. First we learned how we're getting extinct, and now... Oh, it's rough for you. It's hard. I'm going for a pimp. Steve's like effort at this point. All right. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:20:19 I revolt. We'll see you guys in two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight weeks. All right. Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this.
Starting point is 00:20:30 It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh, my God. What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zakistan.
