Give me that excuse me.
You know if you don't lie about that, right?
Lauren came in hot.
Hey y'all, what's up?
It's Lauren La Rosa, and this is the latest with Lauren La Rosa.
This is your daily dig on all things, pop culture, entertainment news, and all of the conversations
that are shaking the room, baby.
Now, we typically tend to check in behind the scenes of the grind, but today I want to get
right into the latest because we have a lot to talk about.
I'm Diddy to Cardi B.
All over the place.
Let's get into it.
So I want to keep you guys on an appeal watch.
You know, it has now been almost two weeks since Diddy's team has argued their appeal in front of a Second Circuit court.
You know, in front of a panel of judges, different judges than are different judges than who heard the case before.
Of course, Diddy was here in Southern District of New York.
and you know he was a judge a judge named judge Submaranian and now he is sitting before several judges in a panel
or he's not physically sitting or he didn't physically sit he was not actually in court
part reports his sister and another one of his family members were there along with his attorneys but
the case the conversation and decision is sitting with several other other judges on a
handle um so you know the the time is ticking we are on an appeal watch now what this means is that
any day now um we could hear a decision so we could hear any day now that did he has been you know
granted um you know a a relook at the amount of time that he was given um and and you know
what the prosecution is arguing is that they were already gracious with the
time that Diddy was given, especially being as though the prosecution wanted him behind bars for
way longer than 50 months. But the defense is arguing, you know, this is not common for anyone who
was convicted of two counts of the men act, which is, you know, prostitution and, you know,
transporting two prostitute, a person would be behind bars typically about 15 months. And, you know,
Diddy has served 19 at this point.
So in that back and forth, at this any day now, literally, we could hear something.
I saw the report today by outlet that said, you know, and I want to say it was just a think
piece, but and by think piece, I mean, more opinion and like, you know, what if this happened,
not this is guaranteed to happen.
But, you know, with reports, things are all over the place.
But the conversation was about whether Diddy or not, whether Diddy.
or the outlet posted a written article about if Diddy would be home in time for Memorial Day.
Now, if you are anything black culture, you understand what that headline gives.
That headline gives is Diddy out are the parties back popping by Memorial Day?
Because, you know, Memorial Day weekend, BET weekend, Grimmie weekend, those were big Diddy party weekends.
Huge, okay?
Memorial Day, Labor Day, it would give, you know, Miami or Vegas for Diddy.
Wow, I actually went out.
The year that I graduated from college, me and my friends, and if any of y'all are listening,
hey friends, y'all know what I'm about to say.
We went to Vegas to celebrate graduated from college in 2014 and Diddy hosted a huge day party at rehab,
which is a rooftop pool in Vegas.
But yeah, you know, those holidays are just religiously, holidays that,
and maybe you should use it religiously when you were talking about Diddy and his parties now,
but holidays that Diddy would throw these festivities because those are, you know,
normally longer weekends.
People are off work Friday, off work Monday.
They want a party just to feel good weekend.
The weather is nice and all those things.
But that reporting is not accurate.
I've been literally checking in with Diddy.
team every day.
And to the point, I know the publicist for the attorneys is tired of me.
But shout out to him because he responds to me every single time I reach out, even though he's
literally at this point copy and pasting and telling me they haven't heard anything.
But as of today, Ditty's team has not heard anything on the appeal.
What I was told before was that this, something like this, because the judges basically said,
you know, we're not going to rush to a decision in this.
They understand that it was expedited.
So, you know, Diddy was granted an expedited appeal hearing date.
The prosecutors, I think, you know, are confident enough where they're like, we don't
care if we do this now or later.
We don't, we, what we charged you with and what you were convicted of, we think we'll stand.
But because it was expedited, I am told by a spokesperson for Diddy's team that typically you would
or hear back within six weeks and something that is expedited of this nature.
But, you know, on average, these things could take up to eight or ten weeks.
And it's only been maybe about two.
So, yeah, I mean, if you are counting weeks, maybe Memorial Day is there, you know,
because that timing it may.
I understand the math and what people are doing.
But nothing indefinite at this point, because it could also be before then.
It could also be later than, you know, that time period.
So we'll stay on appeal watch.
I just wanted to give you guys that brief update because I saw that report and was like,
I know I've been checking in every single day.
So maybe I need to keep my people up to date as I'm checking in.
If there's not really too much to talk to you guys about,
I won't bother you guys with this every single day.
But I know we followed the case here very closely on the latest with Lauren and Rosa.
So we will continue to do that during the appeal as well too.
And again, if there are questions that you guys have about the status of anything where they are,
um, never mind answering questions.
I'm Lauren the Rosa everywhere, L-O-R-E-N, L-O-R-O-S-A.
I'm not an attorney, but I know how to get in contact with them to answer some questions.

There's two golden rules that any man should live by.
Rule one, never mess with a country girl.

This is Rorschach, murder at City Hall.
How could this have happened in City Hall?
Somebody tell me that.
Jeffrey Wood did it.
July 2003, Councilman James E. Davis arrives at New York City Hall with a guest.
Both men are carrying concealed weapons.
And in less than 30 minutes, both of them will be dead.
Everybody in the chambers ducked.
A shocking public murder.
I scream, get down, get down.
Those are shots.
Those are shots, get down.
A charismatic politician.
You know, he just bent the rules all the time.
I still have a weapon.
and I could shoot you.
And an outsider with a secret.
He alleged he was a victim of blackdown.
That may or may not have been political.
That may have been about sex.

Hey, I'm Nora Jones,
and I love playing music with people so much
that my podcast called Playing Along is back.
I sit down with musicians from all musical styles
to play songs together
in an intimate setting.
Every episode's a little different,
but it all involves music and conversation
with some of my favorite musicians.
Over the past two seasons,
I've had special guests like Dave Grohl,
Leveveh, Mavis Staples,
Remy Wolf, Jeff Tweedy,
really too many to name.
And this season,
I've sat down with Alessia Kara,
Sarah McLaughlin,
John Legend, and more.
Check out my new episode with Josh Grobin.

Now shifting gears a bit, speaking of a countdown and a wait,
the people have been waiting for Cardi B's grow good,
hair care products to officially launch.
Now, you guys will remember that Cardi B had, you know, a sellout within minutes, right?
All products.
So the products literally range from 1499 to 1999, which is amazing price points.
You got products that are more expensive than that at this point, just in the hair store.
So that's amazing.
but it's officially released today at noon EST the 15th of April 2026 the products have been released
now if you are listening to me early in the a.m., good morning, call.
Good morning, y'all.
If you're listening to me early in the a.m., you guys are ahead of the curb because by, I want to say,
like if the pre-sale sold out in 90 minutes and Cardi has done.
so much more promotion since then.
And I think seeing products sell out make people want to buy or seeing anything sell out,
seeing a pre-sell sell out makes people want to buy things even more or tend to.
You know, you go somewhere and it's packed and you can't even get in.
You're like, oh, no, no, no, no.
I got to get a reservation, right?
Same thing with the products.
So I don't even think that it will last 90 minutes this time around.
So people are heading on over to Grow Good Dot Beauty to get the products.
And Cardi B is still doing press.
Things are still rolling out, even though she's on her Little Miss Dramatur, which also continues to sell out.
She is just in a season of so many blessings.
So Cardi B sat down with People magazine and she was having a conversation about hair and the good hair, bad hair conversation.
And as much as I love to have this conversation, I hate when people say bad hair.
Let's take a listen.
I had, like, my hair was, was, was, was like that.
And everybody loved my hair.
I like your hair.
Your hair is good.
Like, ooh, girl, look at your hair.
It's a lot of, it's a lot of, like, positive information stuff because it's like, that's
really important.
You kind of feel a little bit, like, out of place sometimes when, like, you see, like,
your cousins, like, having long hair, or, like, when your aunties are doing all your
cousins here, and they just start sucking their teeth when they got to do yours.
Hey.
Oh my God, her hair.
Oh, my God, it's going to take all day.
And she'd be crying.
So it's like, I be trying to make my kid know that like doing the hair is not like a bother.
Now, my hate wasn't to Cardi because the conversation that she is having, I appreciate.
And I feel like a lot of people are always scared to have it.
We actually just had this conversation on the Breakfast Club with Crystal Renee Hastlet,
who plays in Satina and has the podcast.
as Keep it positive, sweetie.
So we talked a bit to, you know, about why people are so scared to get into the texture
conversation, the good hair, bad hair conversation.
And just acknowledge the fact that one product will not work for all hair textures,
especially if you are selling product.
People are so scared to have that conversation.
And I'm like, how?
There is so much that does not work for my hair that will work for the hair of like,
my cousins, different family members, and I'm very aware of that.
Honey, I stay in my lane all the way when it comes to the products that I put in my hair.
But as a 34-year-old woman, it's taking me some time to understand what works for me and what doesn't.
And I think when we think about good hair, bad hair, textured, non-textures, and just the very, like the variety of textures that exist.
Let's just talk about black women.
I don't know Cardi B doesn't identify as black.
Well, she doesn't call herself a black woman.
I know, you know, there's that whole argument.
I'm not getting into that this episode.
I don't feel like it.
But she is a woman with very textured hair.
She is a woman with very thick, coarse hair.
So let's get into the conversation around the fact that people don't want to have it.
Come on, like, going up.
We always heard like, oh, she got that girl hair.
She got that girl hair.
What does that mean?
You know what the fuck that mean when they were saying that?
It wasn't talking about my hair.
I want people to know that it's like we're growing our hair good.
Growing our hair good, it doesn't just mean long hair.
It doesn't just mean like it's like you're here.
And that's another thing.
Just because you got like slick hair or like a certain type of texture here.
Like it's like it doesn't mean that it's growing good though.
Because like a lot of like a lot of women like it's like you have a certain type of hair textures.
But it's thin.
It breaks.
It's damage.
Like it's like what's the point of having a hair texture and your shit is damaged?
it's not growing good.
So is that we're going to grow that hair good?
Whatever texture is it?
It doesn't matter.
I think the sooner we begin to understand
that the only difference between what people
deem good hair and bad hair is the easeability.
And when you learn your hair,
you learn your products and you learn, you know,
how to preserve your hair,
whether it's wrapping it, braiding it, twisting it,
twisting it out, whatever the case may be,
One thing don't compete with the other, but it takes time to figure that out.
Whether you're a parent of a person with very textured hair, whether you're a person with
the hair and trying to figure it on your own.
I feel people who don't even do their own hair, they just go straight to their hair
dress or not because they can't.
But because it just takes so much to deal with it.
But I do want people to really listen to what Cardi said because a lot of what this
conversation was about was instilling things in people young.
And I remember growing up just the whole, like, you know, having for, you know, having
friends that were lighter than me, like more light skin than me. I remember when people would,
like when my mom would come to school to pick me up because she's lighter skinned. She has freckles.
Her hair texture is different than mine. People would literally be like, am I adopted?
I have cousins who have hair down their back, super curly, you know, texture a lot more fine than
my hair. And I remember having sleepovers. And my other friends who had never met them would be like,
wait, these are your cousins? How? Like literally, really, really.
remember that. And the way that that makes you feel, it's like you're almost trying to figure out,
like, well, what's wrong with me? Not even almost. You are trying to figure that out. And a lot of
it again, it goes back to, like, there's like these beauty standards of like what's good and what's bad.
When the conversation we should be having is how well are things kept versus how well are they not
kept? So I'm always here for a beauty brand kind of sore and a beauty brand, you know,
I guess you would call her like a
Is that an expert?
I don't know if I would call her an expert yet
Because this is you know
This is the first drop first go round
But I mean whatever she's been doing
Has been working for her obviously
It's working for Cardi
So maybe I would call her expert
I'm not for sure
But for a person who was selling hair products
To really understand the depths
Of words, conversation
comparison
um durability
uh ease
that is such a breakthrough in 2026
because people love
to talk to you as if like black women
black people in general are monolithic
uh I can't speak for colored people
and I don't like to do that I don't like to do the whole like people of color thing
it's like I can speak for me as a black person
and I've always felt like when I buy these products, why don't you talk to me directly
about what it will do for my exact hair texture?
And I've seen products and, you know, demonstrations on products where they try to do that,
but you never hear leadership of these companies directly address that.
But I think that that is changing now.
And I think that that shows, you know, how different the industry is.
And I think it shows you guys, pay attention, it shows you guys where the beauty product industry
knows the money is coming from.
So they're going to speak directly to you because they want you to use the product.
And we've gotten to a point where we're out loud about the fact that we are tired of the good
hair, bad hair.
We are tired of not being able to find, you know, the products we need for ourselves when we
walk down the beauty aisles, the hair aisles, the makeup aisles.
So now these brands, they're speaking directly to you.
I think Cardi B has a combination of things where she's gotten it right.
though just because even if you don't like I'm going to buy the product I'm going to try it anyway
I'm going to try to buy it we'll see where you know the I'm sure there's going to be a weight
and that whole thing but I'm excited to actually try it and test it out and you know just see how
it works for me and I and I'll be back to let you guys know when that happens

Now, I did mention, you know, just being in such a season of blessing
and what happens when you sometimes get in that season.
I hate to see this.
And sometimes I think when everything is going well, things are on the up and up.
It's still very difficult to escape the pressure of getting, of what it took to get to that point.
And Cardi B was on Instagram Live and she talked a bit about that.
Let's take it.
This shit is hard.
Like being famous is really kind of weird.
Like it's just like a weird feeling that like, I don't know.
And there was a point that like I feel like in this famous shit that everybody fucking hated me.
And that is not true.
There's a lot of people that hated me.
They put a lot of dirt on me.
You know what I noticed?
That for three or four years straight, I was depressed.
And I didn't know that I was just depressed.
People like social media was getting in my head so much.
They made me believe that I'm not who I was supposed to be or where God wanted me to be.
And that feeling gets to you so hard.
It gets to the point that you're comfortable.
Again, like no matter how many times.
people around me was saying like it's like you're cardy you're cardy you this and it's like you're
telling me that i'm cardy but so what if i'm cardy who the fuck is cardy too who the fuck is cardy like
whatever so i just started getting comfortable and i was just letting i was getting so comfortable
to the point that i have little bit never even accomplished anything that i accomplished like this in me
and trying me and thinking that they could do what i do and it's like they can't so um
You know, I just feel like there was just this one day that I just woke up.
And I was like, you know what?
I got to let my fears go.
I got to let my fears go.
And that's exactly what I did.
And I put out my album.
I'm wishing nothing but blessings for everybody who is honest enough to admit life is not the easiest all the freaking time.
I always feel like I am.
complaining whenever I have a moment where I'm like, oh, this is not what I thought it was going to be.
Oh, this is not easy.
Lord, let's talk.
I need, come here.
I need some help.
But I don't think that we should feel like that.
I think that, you know, as people who are establishing brands, businesses, career, you know, homes.
And when I say homes, I don't mean like you're working in real estate.
It could be that too.
But I mean, like, you know, you're a homemaker.
You're like if you are ensuring people's daily comfort and livelihood is good, that is a lot of pressure.
And that pressure comes with things.
And it's okay to admit that.
But that right there is why people fleeing to Cardi B's products, period.
I was going to say in 2026, but I feel like she would have seen, it would have been, you know,
her audience has grown since we first met her.
but people have always been super connected to her and her words because she's been very honest
from the beginning super honest from the beginning and I'm not going to lie to you guys I talk to
you a lot on the podcast about some of the things that I'm going through or just like the thoughts that
I have sometimes I'm not like you know just just tapping in with y'all as we check it by hundreds
of things of the ground before the episodes start and a lot of times when I'm done I'd be like oh my
God. Like, God, I hope that that didn't come to your, from my mouth to your ears as complaining.
Because I never want to do that. I always want to, I always want to be, you know, to stay in a
grateful space, like really grateful for what I have and, you know, what I'm able to experience
every single day. But I do sometimes miss being able to like be open about the fact that like you go
through the ebbs and flows of things that you're figuring out out.
Grow good hair will be a line.
It's a race to the finish line, girls.
And guys, if you're getting it for your, you know,
your significant other or for yourself,
I am going to be in that line.
I'm going to try and get their product.
Let's test it out together.
Let's see what it gives.
I'm here for women in business
trying to figure things out from things they do on a daily.
