Hey, everyone, it's the Jonas Brothers.
If you haven't heard, our new podcast is called Hey Jonas.
And this week, we're hanging out with someone we're really big fans of.
Millie Bobby Brown.
We talk about her new movie, Anola Holmes 3, family life, and all the amazing things she has going on right now.
Plus, we find out what she really feels about the stranger things ending.
You have over 60 animals.
I don't know where the number is 60.
I've really got to figure that out.
There have been plenty of sheep in my bed.
It's a big bed.
Literally sleeping in the bed.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I'm Jake Brennan, and on my podcast, Discrace Land.
I tell the stories behind music's biggest names, the moments that changed music history forever.
Sonic Youth was cool, but was the band cooler than the couple on the cover of their album, Goo?
Cool enough to escape the glare of the international paparazzi?
Cool enough to escape murder?
Disgraceland is part of the exactly right network.
Listen to new episodes every Tuesday, bonus episodes Thursday,

You have surprises?
Many surprises.
Welcome to the Sweet 305 podcast where the group check comes to life.
What on?
You're the only person I know that loves a yellow starburst.
Lemonade.
This is Sweet 305.
Here, oversharing is encouraged.

I'm a homeguard that knows a little bit about everything and everybody.
You know if you don't lie about that, right?
Lauren came in hot.
Hey, y'all, it's Lauren LaRosa, and this is another episode of the latest with Lauren LaRosa.
This is your daily dig on all things, pop culture, entertainment news.
and all of the conversations that shake the room, baby.
So today I have part two of a conversation
that I'm sure is going to shake the room up a bit
because we're talking to Deb Antony,
mother, manager, businesswoman.
We know her for Deb's house,
but also responsible for the careers of Nikki Minaj,
French Montana, Gucci-Maine, and more.
Let's get back into the conversation
as she explains her relationship with all three of them.
I know that one of the people that a lot of people point to
when they talk about how you go up the bat for your artist
is your relationship with Nikki Minaj.
And I reached out to you during the time
where there were reports that you guys
that split and like management.
First, I didn't even know that you guys were still working together.
I thought you had kind of like took a step back
and we're just focusing on Deb's house
and what you had happening.
But there were reports that you guys had split
because of her political views.
Oh, that was you.
Yeah, I reached out to you then
because before I tried to be as like,
here's what being said and here,
as close to the sources I can get, people will say, or you will say back to me.
Because again, when I saw those reports, my first thought was I didn't know Deb was still actively
managing anyway. I thought she was more focused on the television and the Debs House and different
things. So I was confused. So I reached out and said, hey, here's what I was being reported.
Here's what I will have to report because it's the only thing I had. Is this true? Is there any
context to this about what's happening that I could get? Wait a minute. You wasn't quote on behalf
of, I hate saying people named,
but the Jasmine brand.
No, no, no.
They kept calling, too, being messy.
They were one of the people that posted the story, though.
I saw their story.
Yeah, okay, because they kept calling me, too,
being messy.
Like, one is, I'm not getting into the political thing
because I can't tell anybody their political views
who, too and who not to, like.
What is democracy? Like, I do know what democracy is.
You understand? Period.
All right?
I got to keep asking people with some dig on mega
because they keep saying this mega thing
or whatever it is
and I don't even know
and myself became I'm going to just go here with it
while somebody would say that because of political views
when they all call me that also because
again or growing up in hip-hop
I said if I had to
just note what I said
if I had to vote for somebody
I would have voted for him right
I didn't both film.
So right away, I became a Trump or a MAGA.
I became that.
I ain't arguing with that.
Because the one thing I was always taught,
they'll argue people about two things.
That's religion and politics.
Okay?
So I stay away from that.
But that was in 2021, right, when you said that?
I forgot when that was, yeah.
Only not to cut you up,
but it's because when you say things like that,
knowing what the world is seeing happening with Donald Trump,
it's hard for people not to associate you with MAGA,
because that's kind of what happened
with Nikki Minaj as well, too.
Yeah, but you want to know something.
You want to know something.
We all do a lot of things.
You understand?
If you sat here, it spends your life trying to appease people,
I pray for you.
I am not going to spend my life trying to please people.
If that's what I chose to do.
But let me explain some to you.
I've been invited to the White House a bunch of times,
not by him, but other things that was going on.
I never got to go because it always was something that was in the way.
But I don't know who out there if was ever invited would not show up.
It ain't got nothing to do with him.
It's just the idea of saying, you know how I felt meeting, being honored by Jesse Jackson multiple times?
You know how I felt meeting Maya Angelou?
You know how I felt sitting down with Dexter King, Martin Luther King's son, talking to me and pouring things into me.
when I was down
you know I felt the many people
that I have so much respect for
that I said that,
that I met
that some people don't even care for today.
I'm not going to go against
I don't particularly care for Perthi
but I would not go against that man now.
That's a black man still
even though I don't agree with what he did with a woman.
I'm not going to go against him.
I don't believe it knocking somebody down
when they're already.
down. Lots of people called
they want to talk about that. Knowing about
stuff he did. Now you're going to tell me what he did.
You ain't tell me this stuff before.
Why tell me now?
R. Kelly. You've been knowing this stuff about him
forever. Black people just need to
get up off of it. Make your mind
up and choose your side on which side
you want to be on. Period.
That's how I feel.
You were talking to Big Facts.
I think you were on Big Fats
for that interview.
Which one? When you were
Well, they were talking to you about the whole Donald Trump thing
because it was around that time of 2021.
And you had mentioned that what you like about Donald Trump
is the fact that you can't control him.
Do you still feel that way now?
I like anybody that can't be controlled
and have their own mind.
Good, bad, or indifferent.
You understand?
I don't make it my business to follow anything that the man is doing.
There's a lot of stuff going on.
What are we going to do about, sweetheart?
We ain't doing nothing about our own culture.
We ain't stopped doing the stuff that we're doing.
We ain't stop enslaving ourselves.
So how's somebody going to keep talking about a white person and what they're doing?
If we keep going against each other and keep doing the things we do to each other,
you ain't trying to lift me, you ain't trying to educate me, you ain't trying to help me.
You just want to knock me down and bam you out.
Look how today somebody loved you and the bar that hate you.
Nikki Minaj was the biggest person in the world that everybody loved.
One time she'd go up there, she'd go to do this to that.
Ain't even go for no card to try to get a card.
I don't know if she did or not, really.
be honest.
I got a statement from the White House.
They said that the gold car.
But the gold card wasn't real.
I knew that it was real anyway.
But she became so quick
that people want to throw her under a bus.
They do this to everybody.
They can love you so much
and hate you tomorrow.
Look how everybody fought to get into a party.
Now everybody's enemy
and people want to turn their back.
But everybody wants to be in what's happening.
Everybody want to be in your corner
when it's popping for you.
But if one thing happened,
if tomorrow one person,
put something up about you
that they can say to people
regardless of what you come back and say
but it spreads out all over there
long as that person. Do you understand what I'm saying?
I get you, but with the
Nikki Minaj thing, I think again, it's like
people are really struggling
and going through it because of some decisions
that Donald Trump and his administration are making
and then she's like, Nick, you know,
with our artists, we look at you
at them like, you're ours. Like,
we want you to understand. No, you look at them like
they're inhuman, that people are
in human that you don't have problems.
You look at people like
you don't have anything. And if you
going through a bunch of stuff and there's nobody
helping you or
whatever it is, and if you, and I'm not
talking about that situation, because I, you know,
I'm not totally, I'm not in that.
Okay?
But who's going to help me?
Let's let's go here, Lerbosso.
Damn Mickey Minaj, damn Gucci Man.
Damn all the rest of them. Okay.
I bought you, Nicki Minaise.
I bought you, um, Gucci Man.
I bought you.
I put New York back on.
I did.
I came in, found people from New York
because my city was falling.
And I bought them to Georgia
and popped the place back off
and they flipped on me.
Who helped me?
Who?
Whoever came to my side and said,
wow, he did this, she did that.
These artists don't,
apparently they can have amnesia.
They all can have, everybody could have
amnesia.
Who did anything?
whoever spoke up in my behalf.
Who?
And I gave tons of people opportunities.
I opened the door
when every door was closed on you.
I believed in you.
Who believed in me?
No one.
They just stopped all over me.
Spread rumors on me.
I don't stole from everybody
but they big as life.
But I didn't did all the dirt to everybody.
I know after a while, it's my fault.
It's my fault because, guess what?
A lie becomes a truth when you do nothing to defend it.
So that's all everybody has to go on.
Because guess what?
Debe said nothing.
But I never felt like I had to get out here to explain anything to anybody.
Who are you that I got to explain myself every day to you?
Who are you that I have to constantly go on the Internet?
I'm not with that thing.
I hate that stuff.
I hate that gossiping.
I hate it.
I can't.
You don't understand.
What a do to me that I watch it destroy so many people?
My child ain't here today.
It's going blind.
I can't help you.
At that time, they was going in on me.
There's so much dirt they claim.
This is what they claim.

Hey, I'm Hoda Kotbi, host of the podcast, Joy 101
with Hoda Kotb. Okay, if you know me, you know
this. I'm always searching for
inspiration, for support,
and useful tools to help
maximize joy. So this podcast lets us uncover all of that together. We're going to have these
meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people. Like when actress Olivia Munn
shared how she overcame fierce health challenges that she never saw coming. I've gone through breast
cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer and that was more difficult. There's a lot of
people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety.
Olympic champ Sean Johnson revealed why she had no
choice, but to be a gymnast. There was something about gymnastics that was intoxicating to me. It's
given me a belief that we all have one of those treasures inside of us. We just have to find it.

hanging out with Mika Abdallah from the hit show off campus. Congratulations on the massive show
and that's a success.
Got through about episode five.
I left the next morning to go meet the guys.
Came back,
was like, cool, let's pick up where we left off.
And that series had been completed without me.
Oh, no.
That's like the number one rule of watching something.
It's literally cheating.
It's cheating.
It's crazy.
We talk about what it's been like watching the show
become such a massive hit.
What's next for season two?
And just how close the off-campus cast really is.
We're genuinely so close.
What's the group chat called?
If you can say, if it's allowed to be set on the pod.
That's a great question.
One of them is off-campus Brazil
Okay, love it.
Shout out Brazil.
Shout out Brazil.
And then the boys have their own group chat
called Dean's B-B-S.
Our conversation with Mika Abdallah is out now.
Go check it out.

What a f***.
It's like a way to say like,
Oh, my God, my friend, oh, my
hermada, oh, my brother.
What up?
Look, never I've ever had to be
with my kids,
my kids, and my kids,
so,
I'm my amante.
Uff!
Oonch, that's incredible, yeah,
the telenovela.
You're the only person I know that loves a Yellow Starburst.
It's flammated.

Okay, go ahead
I'm sorry
No I was gonna let you go
I was just gonna say
you know right now
not for the sake
of explaining anything to anybody
but because you are
taking an opportunity
to speak
and it's rare
when we do get these
like sit downs with you
who is it
that you want most to speak up in the midst of all of this
that you think if they were to stand by your side
and say things to clear things up according to what you're telling me
about the Gucci men, you know, about Nikki Minaj
and your relationship or wherever that is,
who would you want to stand up and what, what do they say?
You know what, I'm gonna shut them right here long.
I don't usually do this, but I don't know
that that's necessarily where we want to go with this right now, right?
We're not trying to pull anybody else in.
I think anything relative to the artists that she's represented
and what she feels about.
Sharon,
this is why I didn't want to do this
because I knew that this would kick up
so much stuff in me, period,
that's going on
that I have never had my just-do.
I have never spoken on any of this stuff.
This right here,
with Brett, was piercing to me.
I know that something might look like it is
that is not, okay?
I promise I'd take another.
from her. I've not taken nothing from
none of these artists. I've
given them all opportunities. Not
Brad. Brad had our own opportunity and she was who
she was. But Brad didn't do reality
TV either. She didn't really like it.
It was just something that
I wanted her to get into because we were so cool.
Let's do that. I could do this with you.
I'm always trying to
pitch something with women.
I'm always trying to do something with a woman.
Okay. I made a bad decision again.
I did it again
and it is what it is
but I'm tired
I find something else to say about me
I brought so much good stuff into this industry
I've done so much in this music
and film industry period
a lot that I have done
and I keep getting stomped on
ain't nobody standing up for me
ain't nobody speaking up for me
And now a time that I want to speak is coached.
No, you can only say this.
There's nothing.
You can only say that.
Yes, Devin's boss is out there.
I want everybody to know.
I'm telling my life story.
I'm telling where I come from because nobody knows a lot of stuff.
They don't know what I'm really doing in my life.
I don't discuss that stuff.
Most of these people keep cameras around them.
They made up.
That's why they all bugged out now just about a lot of them.
Because now you can't keep up with nothing.
stuff is not going on when it still ain't happening for you.
Let's talk about Deb, Deb is boss, right?
I know that that is your show that you have coming out.
The real trailer that you.

and I could actually have over 60.
I just need to really know that number.

Josh as well, too, correct?
It's already out.
Oh, it's out.
So how many episodes do we have out of Deb's boss?
Or is it a...
No, it's not even the episode.
That was an...
Here's and we go with another thing.
Death is...
I mean, Deb's house...
Dev's boss was Beth's boss.
and that was during the same time
that this stuff was going on, okay?
That they wanted this.
They wanted my story.
And at the time, this was WeTV.
It was supposed to have been a series.
They needed a series.
Okay?
They wanted that.
And that's what we all talked about at first, doing.
But then all that stuff happened at We TV again,
and the people weren't there anymore,
and people were moving,
when people lost jobs and it was a whole bunch of little stuff that came in that went off the table.
It was smashed.
My show was smashed.
When Brett Disma came in, we went in for the movie.
We turned that series into a movie.
So now I was doing the movie and death talks.
It's why I'm so confused because both shows was being done at the same time simultaneously, two at one time.
two at one time.
When everybody was being dropped,
I had continuous stuff going on.
So I know in Deb's
boss, right,
you have the music angle of it
and you talk a lot about like people kicking you
and getting your flowers and stuff like that.
Do you think that this is the project
or this is the time where people will finally start
opening their ears to listening to things
outside of what is the normal narrative
that we hear when people talk about Deb Annie
because it's not all bad on time.
I don't always hear all bad about you.
No, I don't, it's just these parts that it gets me.
I don't like to be called the thief.
I don't like that.
And especially the people that I love.
You understand what I'm saying?
Yeah.
I don't like that.
Like those are things that is personal for me.
I get it.
I do.
I just, I mean, I don't know.
I hear you and then talking to you now, like this is our first time actually having a real conversation.
I watched, I don't know if it was you or your brother on Matt Pfea.
And it was like a real in-depth interview.
It might have been both.
It was bad.
Yeah.
And he was on there too.
Yeah.
So I watched both interviews.
And I remember watching it and just being like, you know, as I'm learning and grown
within this industry, like these are the stories.
These are the things.
This is like the resilience that you want to hear about because it is tough.
But I can't imagine how it was for you because there was a lot of things that I
have, like social media and different platforms that you did not have. And I know that
Deb is balls goes into that as well. It really talks about you just surviving queens and
building yourself up. And I hear you say right now that you're hurt by a lot of the narrative
that is happening right now. And I'm sure it's because you made it through so much to get to this
point and you still having to fight. And that's the part that just, it just gets to me. You know,
And I think, like, I know that one of the biggest things that I go through is, you know, this industry, unfortunately, if a man is not sitting there with you as a woman, it don't really work that well for you.
Okay?
And as simple as that.
And even in artists with females, when the man goes, you're going.
and that's how it's been for women
you know like
they weren't able to hold onto their own
and that's because men was able
to stomp down on you
you know
that that's just things
that they're supposed to do
you know it's like I'm happy
Deb is boss
we're going up hopefully
so we're sinking
an Emmy
nominations for Deb is
boss
little mama played me
I went through a lot of stuff with that.
Why did you choose her?
Why is she not?
I do, too.
And she has my attitude.
I love her.
She has New York.
Yeah, she's short.
She might be short, but she still, it's television.
You understand what I'm saying?
There's some illusions, but she did an excellent job.
Lisa, right.
My mother's so happy because my mama was upset.
Because my mama didn't want this done.
My mama didn't want her life on the,
to make her look like she was a bad mother.
She loved Lisa Ray.
You understand what I said?
Everybody that was on that show was phenomenal.
Everybody did a remarkable job, remarkable.
The production company, remarkable.
Everybody, it was such enjoyment for these people
when I was really scared.
Because I didn't want this to be done.
I really know what to be done, but I said, you know what?
I'm going to tell my story before everybody else
keep telling them because they keep telling me stories.
These stories they write.
You're not going to rewrite my history.
I'm not going to let people do that no more.
That's not happening anymore.
I want to pick a choose because back in the days when I was doing this,
we had our people that we could go to to put our stuff out.
Not a lot of us, but real journalists.
You're real.
You're not made for ten.
that's why I'm sitting here with you.
There's an oath that you took still in doing this
and realism and doing your homework and checking stuff.
You understand?
So which I'm very happy that you did
because I really never knew when people said that.
Now I know that in 2013,
he did file a lawsuit on me.
I didn't know it.
People talked about stuff, but I didn't know it.
You understand what I said?
Nothing ever came to me.
So you just enlightened me right now.
Now I just learned that.
There ain't no d'agone settlements.
I'm going to tell you that, Malich.
It ain't no settlements.
It's nothing.
People owe me, okay?
They owe me a lot.
I gave some big opportunity, sweetheart,
and it's very easy for people to get bragged on today
and doing the work that I did yesterday
because they would have never been able to walk that walk that I walked.
Okay?
They ain't have that in them.
I was a real trooper.
I really was Deborah.
Really was her.
They know about that Deborah in the Bible.
I really was her.
I had to fight this, tooth and nail for each and every one of them.
Whether they give me any type of, I'm looking to talk about flowers.
I don't need no flowers.
You just don't diminish my name.
If you don't want to talk about me, you don't diminish me.
Don't do that.
Don't make up a lie with me.
You ain't got to never mention me.
I never use anybody.
just like even Deb's house.
I never used breath.
I never said her name in nothing.
I never did any of that.
So I did something of something that I wanted to do
and it went good.
I did a reality show.
I did real reality.
Something that they said couldn't happen.
That wouldn't happen.
In real time, what you've seen is what you got.
And I know it touched a lot of people
because there's tons of people.
that stopped me, that loved it, that I didn't have that drama going on.
I wasn't going to have that drama going on.
I dealt with a lot of women that were hurt.
I wanted women to see themselves on that screen.
I needed you to see you.
I didn't need to see you because you had a fat behind
and a short, you know, a little waistline and all those little things.
I didn't need to see you because you had the story of a stripper or any of this kind of stuff.
And I'm not downplaying people.
I'm just saying, I needed you to see you.
There's a lot of people that would take advantage of the opportunity.
But unfortunately, I still haven't felt them because they come in
and they already think they're superstars.
They've been tainted.
These shows have tainted so many kids out here that think that this is so easy to just walk in
and this is who I am.
You can't even handle a stage.
You don't know how to work a stage.
You don't know how to do an interview.
You don't know all these things you don't know how to do.
that's what that show was about
not PT not running
not going through
the other little things that we talked about
and then rapping and
I wanted them to learn
who you was and put away some of your pain
and don't hide yourself
that's one of the things that people do
every time somebody get on TV
they're all made up
I never did that when I was in my kitchens
when I was in anything don't make me up
I'm gonna come in with slippers
I'm going to be very bad because you ain't always going to see me like that.
You're going to see a real person.
I'm a real person.
I do real things.
I go through real stuff.
I get sick.
I dug bill collectors.
I do everything that everybody else do.
At the end of the day, what I want them to know is that we're both going to lay on that piece of beddle and go through this the same exact way.
I'm going to be your neighbor next door in the hospital.
It's going to be the same.
I'm not, I'm not inhuman.
Don't make me who you want me to be.
It's not fair.
Even you saying a celebrity is not fair.
I'm Deborah Edney.
And that's what I want people to know.
I'm not inhuman.
Not perfect, but I'm not inhuman.
And I'm definitely not a thief.
Well, I think that's a good butt in the end on.
I was going to ask you what you wanted the message to be for people to take away from the conversation we had today.
But I think you just summed it up right there.
I appreciate you.
You feel like you got it all out.
Do you feel like there's like a, because I feel you're fighting a little bit of emotion.
Yeah. It's a lot going on in me.

and unbelievable true crime stories from music history.
These are the stories you haven't heard, the kind you'll end up telling someone else.
Like the time Paul McCartney spent in a notorious prison or the bizarre crime Lady Gaga is accused of,
