Starting point is 00:03:04 So there have been reports of Remy Ma throwing shots Clarista Shields way on a song, potentially a disc record. Now there's an artist named Connie Diamond. She is a fire artist. I love Connie Diamond. She is out of New York. I believe Connie is out of the Bronx. Let me see.
Starting point is 00:03:24 I feel like she'd be saying Big Bronx. Okay, yeah. Out of the Bronx here in New York. And you guys may remember her, recognize her because she had that song. Well, first of all, if you're from New York, you know Connie Diamond in general, because a lot of the female rap scene here, I mean, she's a part of it. You can't ignore her. I got to know her music the summer that I moved to New York everywhere I went out.
Starting point is 00:03:46 They were playing, like, because, you know, there's a lot of the drill artists. And that's like such a big thing here in New York. But when it comes to the female droll rappers, there weren't a lot of female drill rappers that I was hearing. So the summer that I moved to New York, Maya LaDine and Connie Diamond, like their music was, it was running crazy, and Lola Brooke, of course, was running crazy here in New York. She had the song Get On Ratchet that Remy Ma hopped on the remix of. That song was everywhere.
Starting point is 00:04:13 So even if you're not here in New York, you're probably familiar with that song. But Connie Diamond dropped a new project. It is called Underdog Season 2. Now, this project dropped around September 12. So it's only been circulating for a few weeks. But there is a song on this project that fans are pointing to because Rami Ma, who is a very close friend of hers, by the way, she's talked about Remy Ma and just some of the things that she's been able to learn from Remy as a female rapper, a rapper from New York. You know, one of the rap girls who's like sexy and beautiful and doing other things, but also she raps and her personas very much don't play with her. And we know that that is, that was Remy Ma as well.
Starting point is 00:04:54 so you can kind of see where the mentorship and the friendship and the you know all the vibes come in there so they've gotten really close from that time and Connie credits her you know for giving her advice and being able to be you know one phone call away all the time now this song drops on her underdog season two project and the fans go crazy and there have been reports that this song is a diss to Clarissa Shields I have spoken to Connie Diamond and she tells me this was not a diss song at all that is not true let's take a listen to the song. You're number two When you mad I'm the one It ain't my fault You're a dusty and bum bitch But I look like That verse right there From the song is what people
Starting point is 00:05:33 You know That's what people are pointing to Now, okay To the fans point When you hear Why would I fight you You're number two Why would I fight you
Starting point is 00:05:43 When I'm the one It's you know Clarissa shill walks around Rightfully so Because she is Number one And what she does Letting people know she's number one
Starting point is 00:05:52 We saw them argue back and forth online and that whole thing with you know papoose and clarissa and you know when remi aired out the situation and we then learned that uh papoos and clarissa were dating in the first place um there was a lot of arguing back and forth and during that argument clarissa shills came out and said y'all come get in the ring let's let's let's box like come get in the ring um and that was put out there for her as well and remi's like now why would i do that like so rightfully so fans you know there were a few entertainment outlets that picked up on this as well too i get it i think we all kind of and then also the name of the song is head tap the name of the song is head tap okay everything in this
Starting point is 00:06:36 one little part but mind you it's a full song but everything in this one little part you could definitely take it infer could have been direct shots or jabs no pun intended at uh clara shills but from what i'm told by connie diamond it is not a diss song um now i do have a friend who mentioned to me that, you know, prior to me reaching out to Connie, I reached out to someone kind of close to the situation who had told me the same thing, that it was not a diss track, that they were just in the booth, talking, you know, doing what they do, talking their talk, doing what they do. But this was not something that was like, okay, this is the moment where I'm taking shots
Starting point is 00:07:13 at her on a record. That is not Remy's focus at this point. It's, you know, what I'm told. But I do want to say, though, I mean, the song is getting the attention. Connie Diamond just dropped the project So now if y'all gonna talk about this And we're gonna talk about He gotta go listen to the full project
Starting point is 00:07:27 I want to say In me researching this song And trying to figure out Because in trying to figure out If this was a diss or not I got more in depth With what the project even is Because it's called Underdog season two
Starting point is 00:07:41 So Connie Diamond put this out And the caption This is what kind of got me Thinking maybe this is not A disc track Like maybe this is just the rap girls Really rapping her captioned Connie Diamond posted the album art for this and said
Starting point is 00:07:56 Underdogs don't move alone these are the masterminds behind the boards that gave underdog season its heartbeat and she's like you know just showing love to some of the people that worked on a project with her she says this ain't just my season it's our season the producers the creatives the engineers the visionaries every underdog that helped make underdog season too legendary even the ones that are no longer with us thank you sidebar the people working behind the scenes never get enough shine so let's turn the lights drop a heart if you ready so stuff like that i'm like i don't know i really think maybe this is just her season feeling like in and connie diamond you know in having this conversation
Starting point is 00:08:31 with her about this project behind the scenes and getting ready for the segment i invited her to come on to the show so we can have a conversation just about like you know where the new york rap girl scene is for the girls that are considered underground that are blowing up um i know Connie Diamond has been, I feel like she has kind of left kind of like that underground world, but I do think that she's still fighting for a lot of people in a lot of ears to hear her. So when I read this caption, I'm like, I think that this project, she wants this to be just kind of like, yo, I'm here, even though she's been here, but like a, like she, no pun intended to Clarissa Shields, but like she's stepping in the ring.
Starting point is 00:09:08 She's ready for the fight. She's here, and that's the energy that this record with Remy is giving. So nothing more we can say on that, because. again, you heard it right from the source. You heard it right from Connie Diamond herself via the latest with Lauren La Rosa that this was not a disc at Clarissa Shields. This was not a disc song.
Starting point is 00:09:26 They just doing what they do. I'm Jorge Ramos. And I'm Paola Ramos. Together we're launching The Moment, a new podcast about what it means to live through a time as uncertain as this one. We sit down with politicians. I would be the first immigrant mayor in generation.
Starting point is 00:09:45 but 40% of New Yorkers were born outside of this country. Artists and activists, I mean, do you ever feel demoralized? I might personally lose hope. This individual might lose the faith. But there's an institution that doesn't lose faith. And that's what I believe in. To bring you depth and analysis from a unique Latino perspective. There's not a single day that Paola and I don't call or text each other,
Starting point is 00:10:10 sharing news and thoughts about what's happening in the country. This new podcast will be a way to make that. ongoing intergenerational conversation, public. Listen to The Moment with Jorge Ramos and Paola Ramos as part of the My Cultura Podcast Network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My name is Ed. Everyone say hello, Ed.
Starting point is 00:10:34 I'm from a very rural background myself. My dad is a farmer, and my mom is a cousin. So, like, it's not like... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? I know it sounds like the start. of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
Starting point is 00:10:58 The 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Hunter, host of Hunting for Answers on the Black Effect Podcast Network. Join me every weekday as I share bite-sized stories of missing and murdered black women and girls in America.
Starting point is 00:11:41 There are several ways we can all do better at protecting black women. My contribution is shining a light on our missing sisters and amplifying their disregarded stories. Stories like Tamika Anderson. As she drove toward Galvez, she was in contact with several people, talking on the phone as she made her way to what should have been a routine transaction. But Tamika never bought the car. And she never returned home that day. One podcast, one mission, save our girls.

Now, in other news, speaking of this is or lack thereof, I think Mariah Carey didn't kind of, you know, threw some shots in the Keny's way, and we're going to be hearing that pretty soon. So Mariah Carey has a new project coming out that she has been going around everywhere
Starting point is 00:13:30 and promoting it. When she was at the I-Hart Festival, she talked a lot about it. She's been doing, she did Kaish stream, which I saw a video earlier of Talil, who's a part of, like, Kai's, like, streamer group. saying that Mariah Carey was the worst guest they ever had. And there are a lot of the lambs, which, you know, I'm a lamb. I'm a Mariah Carey fan that we're upset about him for saying that. Or we're upset at him for saying that.
Starting point is 00:13:56 I think a lot of it is the age thing because Mariah Carey is Mariah Carey and she's older and needs are younger. You know, people that we're just now getting to meet. I get it. But I honestly, I felt like what he said wasn't disrespectful, which is honest. Let's take a listen to Salil. The worst celebrity, oh my gosh, that has came to Mopi, Dron 3, Mariah Carey. Damn.
Starting point is 00:14:21 And I only say, and I only say Mariah Carey because I feel like her intentions was to promote her album. And I don't feel like it's nothing wrong with that. You feel what I'm saying? Because business business, you got to respect, you got to respect good business. You feel what I'm saying? But what was the exchange for us? Like, I know she didn't want to sing. I know she didn't want to dance.
Starting point is 00:14:40 You feel I'm saying, but I feel like, Kai, he held up his inner burger. She promoted her album. Kai spoke to KT. He did everything that he wanted, he did everything that probably was her team attention and her attentions. And I feel like, it wasn't really nothing in change. If you're going to come on Mafiathon, you feel what I'm saying? You have to come and you have to be vulnerable.
Starting point is 00:14:58 You feel I'm saying, you have to come, be ready to do what's in the box. Be ready to do hot ones. Be ready to jump in the pool. Be ready to, you know what I'm saying? Be ready to come have fun. So the album is called Here For All. the album drops on September 26. Now, the album, you know, Anderson Pock is on the album,
Starting point is 00:15:18 who she also talks about in this Gil King interview. Not only is he in the album, but he's in one of the visuals for the album for the song that he's on and they're very much in love in this video. Okay, smiling, happy, touchy, touchy, all the things. But the little shot that I think, and this is not anything she confirmed in the interview, but I'm going to tell you how I got here. So let's take a listen.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Mariah Carey talks about a song that she wrote where she, mentions, or she kind of like an open letter to a narcissist that she had to deal with in her life. Let's take a listen. I want to entertain all your narcissistic ways. I won't allow it. Did you have a specific person in mind, or was that just a random thought? Were you looking at a picture? Internally. Why did you want to include that one? I liked it. I like the vibe of it, you know, but it's a little saucy. Now, y'all know, we just had a conversation with Nick Cannon at the breakfast club. And one of the things he revealed to us was that he recently was diagnosed as a
Starting point is 00:16:15 narcissist. Now granted, the album drops in a few weeks, Mariah Carey's album. So there's no way she saw that interview and then went and wrote this song and, you know, whatever. And of course, Nick Cannon is not the only narcissist in the world. It may be one of like the only people I know that when actually got diagnosed with it. By the way, I only think men can be diagnosed as narcissists if we're if we're chatting about it. I'm joking. But I do think that it was I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting to sit down with Nick Cannon and hear him say what he said on the breakfast club and hear him say that it took him up until this time to even understand
Starting point is 00:16:50 that he was a narcissist and to, you know, to start getting some help or having conversations with people about it. And Mariah Carey makes his whole record about dealing with the narcissist at some point in her life. I'm putting two and two together just because, I mean, it's just what I do. But y'all let me know what y'all think here with this one, if she may have been talking about her. Because I think a lot of the conversation around Mariah Carey Nick Cannon is always, I mean, a lot of it, Nick Cannon has contributed to too, too, that he couldn't handle being with her because of her fame and, you know, all of those things. And he's spoken to that.
Starting point is 00:17:27 But we never really got to hear too much about what she felt from him in that relationship because he couldn't handle those things. And he talked about his ego in that relationship in certain things at the breakfast club as well. So I don't know. I think I'm picking up when Mariah is putting down I kind of think she's talking about him, but you know, that's just me inferring here.
Starting point is 00:17:48 But one of the things she did talk about indefinitely and she kind of didn't talk around. She gave us enough to be able to take it and leave with it. Gail King asked her about her current relationship or lack there up with Anderson Pock. And here's what she had to say. I reached out to him. Why him?
Starting point is 00:18:04 He's brilliant. Well, that's a good reason. He's really a great artist. Now, you know, there are pictures of you all holding hands. Is this just a... He just likes to hold my hand. He just grabs my hand. I don't know what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:18:19 Listen, I think holding hands is very nice. Are you saying it's just strictly, we're just friends? Because now people are cheering for you, thinking, I hope this is a thing, or maybe it's not a thing. How do you see it? He's a hand-holding club. I know that's right Handholding club
Starting point is 00:18:37 I'm going to use that one She said he's into handholding club I think though You know as you get older And you're dating And this is not all new for you And you know It's different when you're Mariah Carey number one
Starting point is 00:18:49 And Anderson Pock is famous as well too But when you're Mariah Carey Bringing people into your world And especially because she has kids now Her and the Kenon's twins are older To the point where they can recognize Mommy got a little friend he's not just our uncle this is mommy's friend friend i don't know if you've ever had to call your mom's
Starting point is 00:19:08 friend your uncle i have it is a very confusing experience if you know you know um but they know what's going on so at this point i think she has to approach things the way that she's approaching them and this is not since this is first rodeo whatsoever so i i do understand that she you know she knows how to navigate it in a way where she can express what she just express which gives that she's happy with where they are it's important to her because he's spending very quality time and very sensitive time with her. But you ain't going to get too much else, period.
Starting point is 00:19:40 And that's all. She did the same thing about Nick Cannon in an interview too as well. I kind of feel like it's best if I don't talk about him because he can just be in his own world. At the end of the day, y'all, there is a lot to talk about.
Starting point is 00:19:54 No, we didn't got into some things this episode, but y'all choose to be here with me every single episode to do it. This is the latest with Lauren La Rosa. I appreciate you guys. every single time you tune in. I will see you, Lo Riders, in my next episode. I'm Hunter, host of Hunting for Answers
