Good morning, USA. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo the music. Start the music, man. You know, yesterday was a tough day for me.
You know, I was just scrolling through Instagram,
and I happened to come upon a friend of mine's page,
and my friend took off his hat.
And when I seen what's under Charlemagne's hat and hood,
I wanted to cry.
What the hell is going on with that hat, bro?
Don't ever take off that hood.
Go ask your wife to bald your hair, bro.
I was about to come to your house yesterday.
I tried to Google where your house was. I was like, I'm just going to pop up
and just cut that hair off, man.
It looks crazy.
I'm 41 years old,
and I have a receding hairline.
I'm not ashamed of that.
No, it's shape and form.
Plus, you late.
I took my hat off two, three weeks ago.
So the monistat 7 is not working?
And the Jamaican cast oil?
I think it's kind of working, but you know, it just grows in spots.
That's all.
Yeah, it looks like pubic hair in spots.
And I didn't have it combed, so it looked like Kevin Durant.
You didn't have it combed?
That's your excuse?
Oh, my goodness.
If you look at Kevin Durant's hair, right?
Kevin Durant's hair looks like a tennis ball that's just been sitting out on the tennis court for years, months, right?
That's how mine looks.
But when I comb it, it looks a little better.
There's no possible way that could look any better, bro.
Like, after the show today, I'm going to come to your house,
and I'm going to give you a fresh baldy.
Yes, I am.
Yes, I am.
I'm going to let my head continue to grow out until this quarantine is over.
The first person that's going to touch my head is my guy, Ty.
Drop on the clues box for my barber, Ty.
Sleuth to Ty.
Sleuth to Ty.
Sleuth to Ty, too, because his brother passed away.
Rest in peace to G. Rest in peace to G.
Rest in peace to G.
Soon as this quarantine is over,
that's the first person that's going to touch my head.
It's really not that hard to give someone a ball,
do you feel like?
I think you need a second opinion, bro.
I think you need to do something now.
Like, you have to take action now.
I've had to cut here before.
It wasn't that hard.
I don't got to go nowhere. I don't got to go nowhere.
I don't got to go nowhere.
When I do my appearances on TV or whatever via Zoom,
I throw a hat on.
And plus, we thugging it out.
It's quarantine time, baby.
Thugging it out.
Your hair is thugging it out right now.
Sometimes you have to look in the mirror
and see who the real you is.
It's good to see brothers.
They got their grays out.
They didn't have to put the Beijing down
for 50 days. You know what I mean?
Just really see
themselves.
I'm good, man. I would be scared of that picture, bro.
Like, when you wake up in the morning, when you wake up
and go to the bathroom at night and you turn that light on
and you look in the mirror, that don't scare you?
I don't even think about it.
I'm being totally honest.
Clearly, I don't even think about it. You saw being totally honest. Clearly, I don't even think about it.
You saw me on that video that was yesterday that Angela Rye posted.
That was actually from last week.
That was last Wednesday.
And I don't even know what I was talking about.
But if I cared, I wouldn't have my hat off.
Okay.
Like, it is what it is.
I'm 41, bro.
What you want me to do?
I love you the same, bro.
That's why they got 4hims.com.
4hims.com.
4hims.com if you want to do some
wellness for men,
you know, get your hairline back. It's good for erectile
dysfunction. Haven't gotten to that point in my life yet.
Not that point yet. Alright.
It's good to see. Listen, when you see that hairline,
you feel more comfortable calling me Uncle Charla.
Okay. That's my uncle for real.
That's my uncle for real. That's my uncle for real.
Goodness gracious.
But you know whose hairline is worse?
Donnell Rawlins. Did you see Donnell Rawlins?
Donnell Rawlins.
What is Donnell?
The comedian guy. You know, he
opens up for everybody all the time.
Oh, that Be With Chappelle all the time.
Be With Chappelle, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
There's nothing in the front. He got like a George Jefferson.
At least you got a little up top.
I got a lot up top.
Mine is what you would call thinning.
Now it has nothing.
All right.
All right.
Well, good morning.
Let's get the show popping.
We have front page news coming up.
What are we talking about?
Well, we'll talk about the coronavirus task force.
Yesterday, the news broke that they're planning to phase it out.
But now they're saying it will continue indefinitely.
We'll give you that update.
All right.
And D.L. Hughley.
Oh, my God.
D.L. Hughley.
Yes.
Salute to D.L. Hughley.
One of my favorite people to talk about.
And I was like, damn, do I got to take my donkey of the day back now?
Probably not because it's Trump, right?
It is Trump.
I'm sure he'll mess it up somehow, some way.
Yeah, he did deserve it for that moment.
That's right.
He changed his mind for that moment, yes.
All right.
Well, D.L. Hughley will be joining us next hour.
And Front Page News is next.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Let's get in some Front Page News.
Where we starting, Ye?
All right.
Well, let's start with Donald Trump and the task force.
Yesterday, Donald Trump had said they would be phasing out the health focus panel and
they were going to be doing a group that's focused on reopening the economy.
But now Donald Trump said the coronavirus task force will continue indefinitely.
So it's not phasing out now.
I'm glad he changed his mind.
You know what I mean?
Like I said yesterday during donkey of the day,
it's like when you have a bacterial infection,
you got to finish all your pills.
Even if you are doing better,
you got to finish your whole prescription.
Donald Trump said,
I thought we could wind it down sooner,
but I had no idea how popular the task force is until actually yesterday
when I started talking
about winding it down. I got calls from very respected people saying, I think it would be
better to keep it going. It's done such a good job. It's a respected task force. I know it myself.
I didn't know whether or not it was appreciated by the public, but it is appreciated by the public.
Nobody wants them around because they're popular. Nobody wants them around because
they're appreciated by the public. We want them around because they're popular. Nobody wants them around because they're appreciated by the public.
We want them around because they know how to do their job better than you.
They are the experts.
You need experts around you at a time like this,
especially if you're reopening the country.
You're reopening the country.
We don't know what's going to happen.
All right.
Well, they're also saying don't expect a COVID-19 vaccine until next spring,
according to the lead researcher overseeing a clinical vaccine trial.
They said
we're doing things in months that normally would be done in years. So the first phase of the trial
will determine if it's safe. That typically takes three to four months. But as we've been telling
you, it's been different strains. It's been mutating. They are saying, though, blood thinners
may help patients with severe COVID-19 infections that could help save some patients who are the most severely affected.
The findings were from a team at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
They're saying now that there's some troubling problems.
There's blood clots throughout the body that already make things complicated,
and patients who did receive anticoagulants did better than those who didn't.
All right.
It just makes me nervous anyway.
The way this thing is mutating in the way that they just don't understand.
They just don't know.
They're just taking these educated guesses.
But I don't know, man.
People are still dying at alarming rates everywhere.
Well, L.A. is going to be reopening.
L.A. is reopening tomorrow.
They're going to start reopening tomorrow along with the rest of the state.
Did they say reopen everything or are they going to take a step?
No, it's phases. You know, everybody's doing phases.
That's the rules. Everybody has to do
phase one, then move to phase two,
then phase three. So there's going to be trails,
golf courses, car dealerships,
florists. Those are among the places
that are being allowed to reopen.
Retail shops for curbside pickup.
And that's the
first plan, first phase in L.A.
And Callie?
Yeah, I was looking at a lot of people yesterday online,
and I was just, you know, Googling,
and they were saying that a lot of people were getting letters
from their banks saying that, you know, they got these deferments,
and at the end of the three months,
they're going to have to pay the whole nut in three months.
And that's not fair.
The government's going to have to step in.
And I know Fannie Mae, and they say, well, Fannie Mae said that that's not going to happen.
Well, that's only the banks that have Fannie Mae loans.
If you don't have a Fannie Mae loan, that doesn't matter to you.
So if you have a bank that said, look, I'm not working, I got furloughed,
I got let go, and I'm still not working.
Some of them banks want that money in three months and not just, you know, a percentage.
No, they want the full three months or the full four
months or the full two months. And I'm thinking to myself,
if people still don't have jobs, how are they going to pay the
three months? That's not fair, man.
They got to do. I would love to get one of these
governors back on the line and ask them because that's
not fair. People still don't have jobs. And then when they still
work, they need time to make their money.
Yeah, I feel like they should waive all of that type of stuff
till the rest of the year. You know what I mean?
Mortgages, rent, student loans.
I thought they did waive student loans, though.
Student loans, I think they did.
I don't know how long they waived it,
but they can't do that to people.
People will be losing their homes.
And then you talk about crime.
Then you talk about mental health issues.
I done worked all my life, and I'm losing my home because of this?
You know what I mean?
Yeah, they should be able to spread their payments out
and tack it onto to the total loan
and then just make you pay a little bit more
for your mortgage every month.
Yeah, put it on the back end if they have to.
Or like you said, if your mortgage is $1,000,
charge you $1,200 until you catch back up.
Like, they got to help people.
Everybody has to have some empathy at a time like this.
It's really just that simple.
Everybody's kind of under the gun in some way, shape, or form. So everybody got to have some empathy with each other at a time like this. It's really just that simple. Everybody's kind of under the gun in some way, shape, or form.
So everybody got to have some empathy with each other at a time like this.
Get it off your chest.

Get it off your chest.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Is your country falling apart?
Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary?
Consider this.
Start your own country.
I planted the flag.
I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it.
I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
I am the Queen of Ladonia.
I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg.
I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition.
The Waikana tried my country. My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong?
No country willingly gives up their territory.
I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
Bullets.
We need help!
We need help!
We still have the off-road portion to go.

As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you.
Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to
doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally
that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment
of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth,
gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with
yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.
Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeart
Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, who's this? Hey, you're falling a little crazy.
What's up, bro?
Hey, good morning.
Peace, King.
How you doing, brother?
I'm good.
Hey, I just wanted to say, man,
hey, shout out to everybody, man,
protesting for Ahmad down in South Georgia, man.
Yeah, man.
Salute to Ahmad.
Rest in peace to his family.
May Allah be pleased with him.
Hey, Uncle Charles, I wanted to tell you, man,
hey, get a mop, get a razor, man.
Hey, clean that hair up, bro.
Nah, I'm going to let it grow out a little bit, man.
I want to see myself, man.
I'm going to let it grow out.
It's been six weeks, man, and that sucker ain't growing too much, bro.
You do it yourself?
I'm going to clean it up.
Hell yeah.
Nah, I'm not going to do it.
I'm going to wait, man.
My barber, we only got a few more weeks till we can go see barbers.
Maybe two.
All right, man.
All right, brother.
Hello, who's this?
This is Mariah from Columbus, Ohio.
Mariah, good morning.
Get it off your chest.
Okay, so I wanted to add to the whole, you know,
paying money back that's been kind of set back
for this time of COVID-19.
I think it's appalling how the little guy always has to get the shaft,
but the big companies are the ones that always get the help,
always get the assistance, but it's the consumer dollar that funds our economy,
funds our taxes, everything else.
It makes no sense.
It makes no sense whatsoever.
Like, I can't go to my job if I got furloughed and say,
well, all this time I've been off, you now
owe me that money. Exactly.
And that's what I was saying. That's just not fair.
Like, you know, people,
they don't have jobs. They can't even look for a job.
Like, some places are not even open.
And now you're saying, okay, it's been three months.
You gotta pay the full amount?
That I haven't been receiving.
That's not right, man. That's not right.
They can't do that to people, man.
They can't, like, and then it's like, okay, so now everything I work for, for my house, I lose.
I lose a little.
If I have equity in the house, I lose all of it.
And then how do I start over?
And then I got to figure a way to get a job and start over, find a place to live.
Like, that's not fair, man.
They got to have empathy, man.
I completely understand people being, like, irritated and pissed off during this situation.
Because, like, in 2008, when we had that whole recession, I got laid off and I was fine.
It took almost, like, a good almost 10 years to get back into the position that I was in.
Because you're starting from scratch.
Right.
From the bottom and going all over again.
So everything you worked for is just gone and it's out of your control.
And now we're right back in a situation like that and it's i understand people's frustration like i'm glad that my job still has
me at work even though we're working our booties off but but it is completely appalling that that's
the way we go about trying to get our economy back up like you're going to bail out these big
businesses but if the small people don't have the money to pay into it,
that bailout means nothing to that big business. Nothing.
In a capitalist society,
you should actually take care of the consumer first.
Without the consumer getting taken care of,
nothing's moving.
But that's the problem.
They don't care about the consumer.
We live under a capitalist society,
but we do not fund our community like that.
The consumer.
Yeah.
And that's the whole thing.
They gave the Lakers $10, whatever it is, a couple million dollars.
They gave Steak and Shake a couple of million dollars.
But they could take that couple million dollars and pay people's mortgages
so they don't have to worry about it for three months.
So when they come off a furlough, they can work to get a new job
or figure out if they can start working again.
And the people I'm talking to were people that are car salesmen.
It's not even like they can go back to work. Car sales
are closed. So they don't know when they can go back.
You gotta waive rent and mortgages
at least for the rest of the year.
You have to. Get it off your chest.
800-585-1051.
If you need to vent, hit me up right now.
Hit us up right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Come on.
The Breakfast Club.
This is your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or blessed.
You better have the same energy.
We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club.
Hello, who's this?
Yo, what's up, Evie? It's Dave.
Dave, what's up? Get it off your chest, bro.
All right, I got to make it fast, too, because I'm on break from my job.
But basically, what I wanted to say is how President Trump, he's branded so like to be a hateful guy that everyone hates him.
But they don't realize that he's actually trying to protect.
I believe that they try to protect us from this COVID.
They're trying to get vaccinated as for like population control.
And I honestly don't think like this COVID is something as big as for the media to train it to be.
And people, you know, they don't realize that.
I believe it's over to get a vaccination and control population.
I'm going to tell you why I don't believe that. The reason I don't believe that is because this is an election year.
Donald Trump's crown jewel was the economy.
I don't think he would tank the economy for population control.
I think he would want to get a second term first.
No, no, no.
He's trying to protect us.
You guys think like Dr. Bill Gates,
those are the people who are trying to get even more billions off of this
corona.
Every two years we have a virus,
but people don't realize that this virus is actually sick.
And now that it's sticking, they're using it to crash the economy.
And then they're going to come out with this vaccination that they're going to force people.
If you want your kids to go to school, you got to get vaccinated.
And it's going to kill more people like these.
It kills like a lot of people.
But people don't ask you a question.
People like AIDS, you know, AIDS in Africa.
That was they were actually vaccinated and it gave people AIDS.
And that's what gave more and more people AIDS in Africa.
Listen, why do we act like people don't get vaccinations every year for something?
Like, why would they wait?
Why would they have to wait for coronavirus?
You can get vaccinated for the flu.
You know, kids got to get shots before they go back to school.
And vaccinations for flu is just as bad.
That's why I would never give, like, my kids. But I'm saying they could have been... They could have been implemented
this plan. They didn't have to
crash the economy and do everything to implement
the plan. They've been doing this plan for like
over 10 years and it finally sticks. They've been
doing this five years back.
And it's just... That's just what I feel. And I feel
like Trump, when he talks about this
medicine that helps and cures,
it actually does. He don't benefit off of
that. He's actually going back and forth with, you know,
the higher ups like Bill Gates and Fauci.
And people think that he's trying to throw this medicine out,
but he's actually not just throwing the medicine out.
He's just trying to like not let the vaccination kick in.
Well, that's not true either.
I read something where he did have some stake in the hydrochloroquine drug.
Right.
And I would rather listen to the doctors than Donald Trump when it comes to what medication you should and shouldn't take.
Is Bill Gates, let me ask you a question.
Is Bill Gates a doctor?
Does he have any medical history?
I listen to Dr. Fauci.
I'm not talking about Bill Gates.
I wasn't even discussing him.
Well, Bill Gates hired Dr. Fauci, you know, and that's why Dr. Fauci is a team.
What?
Bill Gates hired Dr. Fauci to work for the government?
No, that's to work
for the government.
I can't, guys.
I can't.
We got rumors on the way, Yee.
Well, yes, congratulations
are in order for Meek Mill.
We'll tell you what happened.
And also, let's discuss Lisa Rae.
She talks about where she went wrong
when she got married.
All right, we'll get into that
when we come back.
Keep it locked.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
E-J-N-V, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Let's get to the rumors.
Let's talk Meek Mill.
This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee.
Rumor has it.
On The Breakfast Club.
So listen up.
Well, congratulations to Meek Mill and Milan Harris.
They gave birth to a baby boy.
He tweeted out, and it was on his birthday, by the way,
Milano dropped me off a king on my birthday, the best gift.
So congratulations to them.
She posted a happy birthday message to Meek Mill.
She said, happy birthday, love.
I hope this year is filled with more blessings,
lots of love, peace, and prosperity.
I'm beyond proud of the man you've become.
You motivate and inspire me in so many ways.
Yeah, that's dope.
Especially that it's a son and on his born day,
they get to grow up together and celebrate born days together.
Yeah, that is dope.
That's dope.
Mm-hmm.
All right, now, Lisa Ray.
She is on their podcast
and she's on Fox Soul with
Claudia Jordan and she's talking about
what went wrong when she was married to
Michael Mizik. And here's what
she had to say. I should have married for love.
Are you admitting you
didn't? I did not. So it was
like the lifestyle, the bells and whistles
I mean. No, it was the potential of falling in love.
But I should have been in that before the marriage.
The dream that he sold me was, I want to date you in our marriage.
Well, I had never heard of that before.
And I was thinking, that's kind of clever.
And we're going towards that way anyway.
So, okay, we can accomplish what we were trying to accomplish sooner
in a partnership.
And then I got in there
and then it changed and switched
and it was like, who are you?
That's not how that works.
You don't date after you get married
and fall in love after.
No, marriage is supposed to be
a lifelong commitment.
There is no on-the-job training
when it comes to wanting to spend
the rest of your life with a person.
That's why you have to do the dating and stuff beforehand,
not while you're married. And doesn't that kind of
feed into the, there was always this narrative
that Lisa Rae was a gold digger. Doesn't that
kind of feed into it a little bit?
Well, she said it wasn't
because of that. She said it was the
potential of falling in love, and
I don't know. I mean, maybe she got
swept off her feet at first, and
I don't know what the thought process was, but she never heard that before.
No, it's not how that works.
You're supposed to grow in love with people beforehand.
And then, you know, the whole do us part thing comes after that.
Well, she says she learned her lesson, right?
That was a long time ago.
So that's something she learned from that experience.
Now, another breakup, Charles Barkley. He's talking about being very sad about his broken friendship with his ex-BFF Michael Jordan.
Here's what he had to say on ESPN's Waddle and Sylvie show.
More sad than anything.
Really, really sad because the guy was like a brother to me for 20-some years, at least 20-some years.
But I wish him nothing but the best,
but nothing I can do about it, brother.
There's no way he could ever get back
to what it was. Oh, he got my number?
He can call me?
It would take him calling you and say,
Charles, you were right, and you were just
doing your job. I was wrong.
Does he have that capacity in
him based on what you know of him?
Well, it's been a long time, so I guess not.
I don't see that reconciliation happening, man.
Michael Jordan seems like a very pick-a-side person.
If you're over there, stay over there.
That's how I feel Michael Jordan moves.
Right.
I mean, look, he criticized him as an owner for the Charlotte Hornets,
and Michael Jordan didn't like that.
And I feel like that could be something that you could get over.
I think it's different with Michael only because Michael grew up on critics
and Michael probably looks at Charles and says, you know,
you used to be a ball player.
You know how it is.
Yeah, you know how it is.
You should know that kind of criticism.
And probably probably had a lot of conversations about the media over the years.
So for Charles to put himself in that media position and then do that to Michael,
eh, I can see it.
I can see why he would be upset.
All right, another thing about Michael Jordan,
a lot of people have been coming forward talking about what it was like
being part of that dream team for so long.
And his former Bulls teammate Brad Sellers told the Undefeated
that you would see Michael Jordan doing laundry in the first few episodes,
and that was him back then, the countryside of him just living like a regular dude. But he just got bigger and bigger in basketball to a point where he couldn't go out.
I remember saying to him one day, hey, how do you eat?
And he said he would call the supermarket Jewel Osco.
It's in Chicago about 15 minutes before they close and let them know he was coming in.
They would stay open late just to let him shop.
And then he would give the staffers a nice tip for doing that.
Michael Jordan ain't got no assistants?
You don't got nobody that can go do that for him?
Well, maybe he likes to go grocery shopping for himself.
That's something that is personal too sometimes.
But hey, he went while they were closed.
There's something therapeutic about going to the supermarket
and picking your own stuff.
And so that's what he used to do
and it worked out.
Yeah, it's a form of self-care.
I can see how that could be very relaxing
and just help him to unwind,
go get his own groceries.
I can see that.
Sometimes you don't know what you want
until you get in the supermarket
and then you don't like the fruit
somebody else might pick for you
or whatever.
So it is a thing that you feel like doing yourself.
All right.
Well,
he's tall.
So getting stuff off the top shelf.
I mean,
and that's your rumor report.
All right.
Thank you,
miss.
Now,
when we come back,
we got front page news.
What are we talking about?
Yes,
we are going to be giving you some updates on what's happening as states are
reopening for a Corona virus.
And there's one guy who actually said he's been tested three separate times and had coronavirus three times.
Okay.
All right.
We'll get into that next.
Keep it locked.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Is your country falling apart?
Feeling tired?
Depressed?
A little bit revolutionary?

As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions,
but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams.
I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves.
For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step.
And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.
This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude,
and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself.
You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.

Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee,
Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club.
Let's get in some front page news.
Where do we start with Yee?
Well, let's start with the man in Houston.
He's talking about his coronavirus symptoms
and testing positive for three times in two months.
He did a video and he said he originally tested positive
on March 19th and again on April 13th.
And most recently on May 1st,
he has to take another test today.
So he's hoping that test comes back negative.
Listen to his story and the symptoms.
He had all of the bad symptoms
and his fatigue just wouldn't go away.
So I told my doctor that I was still experiencing
a lot of fatigue.
And this was at about three or four weeks in.
So at that point, my doctor had gotten a little bit concerned
and she wanted me to get tested again.
Unfortunately, that's when it came back that I still tested positive for having COVID-19.
So fast forward to about six or seven weeks later, I went to get tested and then the test came back positive again.
I would say I'm overall better. I don't think I'm at 100 percent.
So the plan at this point is to now get tested again on May 7th.
And hopefully that test will come back negative.
Oh, okay.
I was confused there. It's not
leaving his system, basically.
Yeah, he's been getting tested.
He tested three times in two months.
So that's a long time to be still testing
positive, though.
It feels like.
That is a long time.
To still be testing
positive and still have those symptoms.
See, that's scary.
They don't know.
They don't know what's going on.
And they're still opening up this country.
They don't know.
He might be a game changer because if there are coronavirus cases that last for seven and eight weeks, we might be in some trouble.
Right, because they tell you to quarantine for two weeks, but it looks like you still could have it for that long. All right. And he's from Houston
and Houston has approved a $15 million rental relief program. And so that program provides
assistance for the residents in Houston. And like I was saying this earlier too, state by state,
they have different rules and laws. And so make sure you check with your state. If you're not
getting federal information and they're not doing anything for you, you can
still check with your state. And so the money for the program will come from the Federal CARES Act.
According to the statement, landlords have to agree to certain terms if they choose to participate
in the program. And renters also have to meet certain requirements. But there has to be ways
that you can help out the average person that now is
going to have these huge payments that they have to make because they've
deferred payment.
All right.
Coronavirus survey.
No,
I was just going to say everybody has to have empathy for each other at a
time like this.
And I still don't understand how we live in a country that's ran by
capitalism,
but they don't take care of the consumer first.
The consumer is the foundation of this whole capitalist country. If the consumer don't got no money, the they don't take care of the consumer first. The consumer is the foundation
of this whole capitalist country. If the consumer don't got no money, the consumer ain't spending,
then guess what's going to happen to the economy? Not a goddamn thing. They ain't going to make no
money. All right. And in the Oval Office, Donald Trump was honoring nurses and he got a little
irritated with one of the nurses who said the supplies of PPE around the country is
sporadic. Listen to this. So PPE has been sporadic, but it's been manageable and we do what we have
to do. We're nurses and we learn to adapt and do whatever the best thing that we can do for our
patients to get the job done. Sporadic for you, but not sporadic for a lot of other people. Oh,
no, I agree, Mr. President. Because I've heard the opposite.
I've heard that they are loaded up with gowns now.
And, you know, initially we had nothing.
We had empty cupboards because it wasn't put there by the last administration.
Don't let her, don't let him bully you, nurse.
She backtracked soon as he said that.
No, no, no, no, no.
I agree, Mr. President.
No, stick to your guns.
If it was sporadic for you, say it was sporadic.
All right, now, phase two of reopening is going to start next week in Oklahoma, according to the governor.
And they said they're doing a fantastic job flattening the curve in Oklahoma.
And he will make decisions based on the data in Oklahoma.
And officials can extend phases or back up if they see any changes. But in Rhode Island, the governor is saying they're going to let the stay
at home order expire this week. She anticipates letting people be able to go out. But she said,
do not race home to see your mom on Sunday. It's Mother's Day. She said, just, you know,
we have to figure out a way we can love, cherish, respect and treat our moms without doing that.
New Jersey has extended their public health emergency for another 30 days.
The governor there, Phil Murphy, is signing an executive order to extend that.
He says this does not mean we're seeing anything in the data which would pause our path forward.
These declarations expire after 30 days.
We're still in a public health emergency.
So he extended that for another 30 days.
In Florida, the governor has signaled that parts of South Florida could reopen soon. That's the plan there. So that's just some updates
on what's happening state by state. Now, here's some other news. They're saying coronavirus
survivors could be barred from military service and they could be barred from joining the military.
It would be permanently disqualifying if you had a past case
of coronavirus. So that's a new thing. There's also a new bill that would forgive the student
debt of health care workers who are fighting coronavirus. So doctors, nurses and first
responders on the front lines of this pandemic are being called heroes. So one thing they want
to do is they propose a new bill that would eliminate their student debt. So wait a minute, if you had coronavirus
before, they're trying to pass a bill where you can't
go into the military?
Yes.
That's a new thing that they're
trying to do. So you would be
permanently disqualified.
You mean even if I
test negative?
No, if you test negative.
If I had it before and it went away and I tested negative after,, if you test negative. I'm saying if I had it before
and it went away
and I tested negative after,
I'm still disqualified?
So this is what they're saying.
The measures are going to serve
as an interim guidance.
It doesn't mean that
a potential recruit
would be barred from service.
Applicants would have to obtain
a medical waiver
to move forward with enlisting.
They would have to
look at other conditions as well, like a surgery or a history of depression.
And they said the guidelines are meant to force an additional review of the applicant, not outright disqualify them.
So they said it's unclear how effective this can be because a lot of people haven't gotten tested.
A lot of people are asymptomatic.
And so these memo outlines how a staff should deal with confirmed or potential cases if they're screening you.
So you have to have your temperature taken.
You have to answer questions about potential symptoms or contacts and things like that.
So it's just another level of potential not being able to qualify.
If I got a six-month-old.
But you're not disqualified permanently, though.
Right.
You have to still get a waiver
And they're going to do extra screening
And things like that
Alright, well that is your front page news
Now when we come back
D.L. Hughley will be joining us
So we'll kick it to D.L.
So don't move, it's The Breakfast Club
Good morning
The Breakfast Club
Morning everybody, it's D.J. Envy
Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
We got a special guest on the line.
Friends in the room.
D.L. Hughley.
Welcome, sir.
Hey, man.
I'm glad y'all still made it.
I'm glad y'all all right.
We all right, right?
We haven't left the house.
I don't know about you.
Oh, yeah.
Well, you know, here's the thing.
I go to work and I come back because we're doing the TV show and the radio show.
So I'm the only dude I know that would build a set during the middle of a coronavirus.
But, yeah, we go to work every day.
Now, of course, even though I work with my daughter, I haven't hugged her in three weeks, three months.
But, you know, I didn't do anything.
What precautions do you take?
You put a mask on?
Yeah.
A mask, gloves, the whole thing.
Except when I'm broadcasting, then I don't.
But other than that, when we're shooting, other than that, we just kind of.
I think I just I'm really sad because even though you see the depth going up, this drive.
And I understand it because ultimately your answer can't just be everybody stay home.
But it's just sad that the fact that it's the people who are dying that the American population are not uncomfortable with.
Old people, black people. And black people.
Poor people.
Yeah, I mean, you know what?
The one thing we'll never run out of is poor black people or poor brown people.
So I figure they figure we're expendable.
You know, it's crazy, Dale.
We had the same thought because I said that I saw you post this on Instagram.
And literally, like, I might have posted it seconds after.
But I said, you know, America's economy is an omelet.
And poor people and black and brown people are eggs.
And they don't mind breaking a few eggs to make that goddamn omelet.
The one thing they'll never run out of is poor black and brown people.
That's the one thing we have.
And old people, like, if you look at who's coming down with the disease, it's primarily people in prison,
people who work in meatpacking plants or in close proximity, old people, and black and brown people.
And America's like, man, why should I not have a mall open?
Because the undesirable, the people that we have to figure out where to warehouse are dying.
And I think it's really America's real life nature selection of their purge.
Who do you trust and who do you listen to when it comes to what's going on during this
pandemic?
Because I was watching your show and I was watching you talk about Dr. Fauci and talk
about Donald Trump. And basically Dr.
Fauci is a co-defendant,
right?
For,
for Donald Trump,
because he's not stepping in.
He has to be ultimately that,
that,
you know,
the kind of people who listen to that man and he needs to be challenged
directly.
And I think when a,
when a man like that tells you that,
well,
first off,
I didn't mind him saying,
um,
um,
you know,
them ingesting disinfectant because the Trump admit bleach is perfect for the that, well, first off, I didn't mind him saying, you know, them ingesting disinfectants
because the Trump bleach
is perfect for the Trump supporters
because it works great on whites and it's hell on
colors.
So it's...
But
when that man, he wasn't in there
when he made that particular statement, but look at all the statements
that took flight that he later on went on other avenues
and then tried to correct as opposed to doing it right there.
The oath he took was not to an administration.
The oath he took was to do no harm.
And he does harm when he sits there and he lets those things happen.
And what he wanted to avoid was him being silent, and he has been.
And I think it's just cowardice.
I think you're a doctor.
Anytime somebody...
What happened to the
other disease that he touted?
The other drug that he touted?
Hydrochloroquine?
Hydrochloroquine.
If you spend the last few weeks
listening to the president,
look how many people would be dead. Like, literally,
just listening to him. So you can't be the greatest nation in the world when you can't listen to your leader when they go, no how many people would be dead. Like literally just listening to him.
So you can't be the greatest nation in the world when you can't listen to your leader,
when they go, no, don't listen to him.
And you sit there and say it, and you're an accomplice, you just let it happen.
It's insane to me.
And I think that he has been able to manipulate, you know, senators and congressmen and now the medical establishment, and I think it's to America's detriment.
Now, what do you think about Joe Biden right
now? And, you know, because right now is either
Joe Biden or Donald Trump. What are your thoughts
on Biden?
I can't wait to vote
for Joe Biden. I'm going to wait.
I wouldn't risk my life, you know,
going to the mall, but I would vote for that,
for Joe Biden, I'm telling you. And this whole
Tara Reade thing and whether he did what she said,
America in four years ago, three or four years ago,
decided that sexual assault was not, that sexual assault was not,
you could not be excluded from the presidency for being a sexual assaulter.
They already said that.
They already said you can grab all the p*** you want, you can do whatever you want. We don't care about that. So I don't care about it now. If you didn't care about
it then, let's not make that a prerequisite for being the president right now. And I think
ultimately, if you look, what America needs more than anything else is somebody who pays attention
to science. And more than anything else, they need somebody who's empathic, somebody who gives a
if people are dying. Now one time has this dude said,
I'm sorry. Not one of his hotels
is open to take coronavirus. Nothing.
Nothing. Not one
modicum of sympathy or
listen, in America right
now, before we're done with this conversation,
thousands of people would be dead
and this nation doesn't look like it's mourning
at all. Right.
It doesn't look like it gives a f*** at all. It doesn't look like it gives a **** at all.
I agree with you, D.L., but I don't think none of them care.
And the reason I don't think none of them care is because at the end of the day,
all of them care about the bottom line, which is the economy.
Now, how they present it may be different.
Some of them might be straight up with you and be like, hey, mother******* is going to die.
Others might be like, that's wrong.
What's happening?
But you know what?
Let's reopen.
But that's not too much different than us.
Like, literally, I care about the economy,
but I know things got to get back. We
have to, it's unsustainable
to have people warehouse or
shelve in their homes. But ultimately, you have
to have people, when you ask to
leave people, you got to at least care about them.
Right.
I mean, like, you know that
if you take a drug, it can hurt.
Even if you give a vaccine out or you issue a drug,
for some people that drug may be detrimental.
It may cause them harm.
But it doesn't mean you don't try to do the best you can for as many people as you can.
Who has he done the best for?
Literally.
Who does he care about?
Rich people.
He doesn't even care about his own people.
Literally, he'll sacrifice them
you literally have somebody
every day people are dying
and all he talks about
when he did the Lincoln
the interview in front of Lincoln
mother f***er you talking about how bad it was
in front of a mother f***er who got shot
got a shot
got his head blown off
alright we have more with D.L. Hughley.
When we come back, don't move.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
We're still kicking it with D.L. Hughley.
Yee.
What do you think about people discussing, quote,
holding your vote hostage because they want to make sure that...
Don't say people.
Diddy.
Me. Yeah, but there's a lot of people that are agreeing with that. So to make sure that... Don't say people. Diddy. Me.
There's a lot of people that are agreeing with that.
People are saying that.
A lot of people agree to anything.
Somebody said they were Jesus. A thousand of people would take up
the call. That's stupid, but it's dumb.
Black people are dying from this.
Black people.
Puffy's statement was
irresponsible and deadly.
I'll tell you this.
Black people are dying
disproportionately from this.
We are.
Us.
It's us.
Our grandfathers,
our mothers,
our fathers.
So maybe what we get
right away
is somebody who isn't
concerned that we are dying.
Maybe we get to
fucking survive.
How about that?
How about take that?
Take that.
How about we survive?
How about we get somebody that we're dying by the dozens and nobody gives a fuck about it. How about that? How about take that? Take that. How about we survive? How about we pick somebody that we're dying by the dozens and nobody
gives a fuck about it? How about that?
How about we survive and pick somebody who at
least will pretend to give them?
I have to respectfully disagree with you,
DL. I think that, I don't think there's
nothing irresponsible about demanding something
for your vote because, let's be clear,
black people aren't dying because of coronavirus.
Black people are dying because of systemic racism.
The underlying conditions that systemic racism
that America has laid down for decades
and decades and decades that
nobody from any government,
any particular party
has helped us with. All they've done is
contribute to the systemic racism that exists in the
black and brown community. So it don't matter if it's coronavirus,
cancer, diabetes,
whatever the next disease is going to be,
we're going to always be vulnerable until we change that.
And you know what we need to change?
Participation.
More people didn't vote than did.
More people didn't vote than did.
And maybe what we need to ask, and if you're going to make an ask,
what is it we all collectively want?
There you go.
You can say, I've got to get something for my vote,
but if you're something, there should be at least collectively
things that we can all agree on.
But if your ask is different than my ask,
then neither one of us get quite what we want,
then we say, I won't participate.
Listen, us not participating is the best thing in the world,
and it contributes to what we go through right now.
You have to participate regardless.
It doesn't matter in terms of the resources that are allocated.
It matters now.
So even if we are poor and we're in the situation we are in, our educational situation, the prison system,
it's as much a lack of participation on our part and showing up on our part as any other factors that we have to deal with.
We already know they don't want us to do it.
But to say to me that I'm just going to sit there and nobody's doing anything, so I'll
just sit here.
You know, in a movie called The Edge, he said that most people die of shame, and that's
inactivity.
And us doing anything, us doing nothing is the proper solution.
I don't agree.
I agree with you, but I would say this, though.
I would say this, though.
You know, you look at it like this.
I don't want people to feel like, well, the blacks will vote for me
because I'm better than Trump.
That's not a reason to vote for somebody.
You know what I mean?
And that's my only fear.
Like, I feel like when we put that pressure on Joe Biden a little bit,
then all of a sudden he did a lift your every voice agenda.
He came with the black agenda.
You know what I mean?
And I feel like we have to continue to put pressure on people and make sure we get what we want.
Because now it's not, we're not just voting for you because we don't want to vote for Trump.
We want to vote for you because we feel like you're going to do something for our people and our kids and our community.
What do we want?
Collectively, what do we want?
I think I would like to see some form of economic justice.
You know what I'm saying?
We know this country is never going to give us reparations, but it can be some type of equity plan. It can be some type of equity plan that we put money into these poor and disenfranchised communities to make the schools better, to make the housing better, you know, to make the hospitals better, to give people access to better health care.
That's a level of specificity.
I think proper and adequate education for all of our children.
I think that our women, that we shouldn't have inadequate health care.
I think those are asked, but just to say in a nebulous way that you've got to give me something.
It's so nebulous.
It's like a woman telling you, make me happy without giving you any guidelines.
Right.
You know you've got to eat that pussy, D giving you any guidelines. Right. You know you got to eat that DL.
Goodness gracious.
Goodness.
But you know, like, even if you look at the pandemic,
let's be honest, right?
There's some people that have saliva coming out their mouth
because they know how much money they're going to make.
If you have money, you rich, they're my people.
They're making millions and billions off this pandemic.
But it's us that have the small businesses that are never open again.
That is us that can never pay our mortgage and not be able to, you know,
we'll lose our mortgage and lose our cars and not be able to go to school because we can't afford it.
So how do we help ourselves?
That's what I want to know.
We got to help our own.
That is the specificity that will help us.
But just saying, I'm not doing this to you, this thing,
you've got to ask them for what a quiet mouth don't get fed.
Now, what you feel that mouth with is what we're arguing about.
Listen, you're absolutely right.
It's amazing that the very people who are now essential workers
are the very motherfuckers we were trying to send off.
Like, look at the people who are dying.
You're absolutely right.
It's disgraceful when I watch them point a camera at 1,000 kids,
children who stand in front of Michael Jordan to get Michael Jordan at the mall.
What about the people who open the fucking mall?
What about the people that...
Because we put child-proof caps on medicine just for dumb-ass kids.
But when I watch white people in the United States walking around with a guy
without a mask on
and then I...
Children do what they're supposed to.
I just don't understand
how...
We'll point...
You'll arrest people
for not social distancing,
but you won't arrest
two white men
that slaughtered a black man.
Right.
All these are reasonable ads,
but to say,
unless you do this for me
without a level of specificity, is a nebulous thing.
I don't understand that.
We need their ads that we should all, as black and brown people, be able to agree on.
I agree with that.
I think that, you know, what Diddy did wrong, what he did wrong was he set a black agenda, but he didn't specify what it was.
If you're going to ring that kind of alarm, you should have something ready to go right then and there.
That I agree with now
dia one thing that i've been saying that i really pay attention to is who is also going to be
working with you who's going to be the vice president who else are you appointing to positions
of power that i know that i can trust so who would you like to see as vice president i mean i think
there are any number of people but ultimately it's a political calculation because if you pick a senator and then that seat becomes vulnerable, then you erode some of your power.
Like, so there are seasons.
First off, I wouldn't like to see Amy Klobuchar.
I just, I don't see.
No.
She makes white women go, eh, eh.
Yes.
And people gave Kamala hell for her record as a prosecutor.
Go look at Klobuchar's record as a prosecutor.
You're absolutely right.
I like Kamala as a, I had my questions with her,
and I actually got a chance to talk to her and have my questions about her.
I think she would be excellent.
I think Elizabeth Warren, despite the fact that I think she would be excellent,
but that does pose a problem of having a vulnerable seat.
I think people are talking about Stacey Abrams.
Now, I don't know her governance.
Like, I don't know what she has done in terms of governance.
But the bottom line is, when you're making this more so
than any other vice president,
a nominee of vice presidential selection,
people, it's kind of like a literal cosigner.
Like, kind of like he needs somebody that galvanizes people.
So this is probably the most important vice president's election.
I would say that that is one of the instances where we see what he thinks about the people who are supporting him.
And I think the one thing that is readily apparent in this whole thing, I don't think a woman should be vice president.
I think a woman should be president.
Because if you look at the nation led by women, less of them are dying.
Their economy is less than shambles. And I think it's ultimately time to dispel the notion.
Even the cities that women run, they're people.
Because I think there's a modicum of empathy and common sense that men have ceded that women have not.
And I think whoever he picks as vice president needs to be fully capable and ready to be president day one.
Joe Biden might die at any moment.
Yeah.
It's possible.
Every one of the people running for president
looks like they are under the more. None of them
should be outside. None of them.
Especially with the
coronavirus outbreak. They keep talking about
it kills elderly
people. Well, what are y'all?
Oh, my God.
Motherfucker.
Everybody knows
in the Congress,
I'm going to go back to where
you better stay
your old ass home.
All right, well, don't move.
We got more with D.L. Hughley.
When we come back,
don't move.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy,
Angela Yee,
Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
We're still kicking it
with D.L. Hughley.
Now, D.L.,
have you seen the Jordan documentary, Last Dance?
And how do you think about the fact that he is around his team?
And are you like that around your team?
I think that his single-mindedness was something that we all,
and ultimately I think that everybody embodies some of that.
But I think that Michael Jordan is Michael Jordan primarily because of his great work ethic.
But I don't think he would have been beloved in the social media era.
Like when we know everything about you, we know what you did, we know what you said.
Part of any measure of greatness is what you're up against.
And what he was up against was not the backdrop of social media.
So I think what he did in terms of his single-mindedness,
but I thought what he did to Scottie Pippen was bullshit.
If we didn't know, like, then if you do your teammates,
your supposed ace like that, where you're not supportive of them,
people would have a different affirmation of that.
They'd be like, hey, nigga, you out.
That's out of pocket.
So I think he was a great athlete, and I think that you have to have – he was a great athlete, a less desirable human being to me.
I thought he was a great guy.
I didn't like how they was tiptoeing around race on the episode
when they was talking about why they was attacking Michael Jordan.
Like, y'all know good or what, there wasn't care about no gambling.
That was a powerful black man.
That's what they do to you.
They tear you down.
Right.
But you can't expect people to involve that when that's never been your conversation, man.
Like, he also wants the Republicans by a tennis shoe. If you want somebody to get your back, that's never been your conversation, man. He also wants the Republicans by
Tennessee. If you want somebody
to get your back, you got to get theirs sometime, too.
You got to be involved
in the struggles that matter to other people
so they don't get involved in your struggles.
Everything can't be about you.
I think that that's what's going on.
I've been watching spectacular documentaries.
Spectacular.
John Coltrane and Lee Morgan.
There's some dope things.
And I watched Tiger King.
Let me tell you something.
When I learned from that,
if you pet a tiger long enough,
eventually you're going to want to f*** a dude.
That's what I was like.
What?
I don't understand that.
That's all you got from that?
I threw out my Detroit Tigers hat.
Are you f***ing with me?
Oh, man, DL, you are crazy, man.
You know what I was going to say to you, DL?
I was going to say, what are you going to do without stand-up for the next few months?
How are you going to stay sharp?
Well, you know, I get to do the radio every day.
But this shit literally writes itself.
I was watching Jerome Adams, who was another, that whole Surgeon General dude.
Because the one thing that I hate is every time something happens,
even though the international pandemic is raging,
every time something happens to black people,
it's always our fault.
Like, it's our fault.
Like, everybody else is dying,
but you are f***ing yourself.
When that dude said,
I drink and smoke and alcohol,
I'm like, well, f***, you can't make me stay home
and tell me I can't drink and smoke and do drugs.
But it's been hard, too.
But I'm learning.
Look, I baked cookies last night. You did?
Regular cookies or weed cookies?
I've been cooking for my old lady.
Yeah, for sure.
So when is the last time you've been home for this long of a
period of time, D.L.?
Never. I just tell her that last night.
I'm like, I'm waking up with the same woman.
What kind of thing is this?
Stop it. Stop it. Stop it.
You better stop.
You're going to get your ass in trouble.
You don't know why you should shut up so I can answer the phone?
DL, cut it out.
We don't do that.
Black men don't cheat.
Come on now.
Stop now.
Now, when they open the world back up.
I know she's sick of you, DL.
When they open this world back up, how long is it going to take you to go out and really start doing these shows again?
Hey, man, listen. The last show I did was three days before they closed.
I was in Texas, in San Antonio, three days before it closed down.
I think ultimately it ain't going to be entertainers do what they do.
And I think that even when they open it up, there's a certain, like, you dig your gig and you want to be saved.
But at a certain point, you itch to be what you were.
It'll be more
a question of when people
feel comfortable coming out.
For me, this is what I've been.
Pandemic or not, this is who I am.
I can't wait to be on stage
and say the things that I say and do the things
I do, but I want more than anything
else for people to feel a sense of safety.
I think everybody wants normalcy.
I think it's something that's a bridge too far.
I don't know that we'll ever have that again
because we have a memory of what things were like.
But I think a level of safety where people feel more secure.
And I think that despite political differences,
there are people who actually seem to care about like your governor seems to give a.
He seems. Yeah, he does.
I think our governor seems to give a.
I think Whitmer and Michigan seems to care.
So at least having a caring, sober, thoughtful group of leaders, I think will contribute to people feeling safer and then
that contributes
to getting back to a seamless
of a life we recognize. She might be vice president
too, Governor Whitmer.
That's what I've been hearing.
She let a redneck pull in the gullet or
she on flinch?
One more thing before we go,
yesterday everybody jumped
on Tyra Banks,
all that old shit she said on America's Next Top Model.
To me, that is the dumbest shit in the world.
And the reason I say that, it's like I was speeding on a highway.
The speed limit used to be 70.
Now it's 55.
But you're sending me speeding tickets from 20 years ago when the speed limit was 70.
I was doing goddamn 70.
It's actually what they did with Eddie Murphy's Raw.
That shit was funny.
And then we gave things by our prism
of today. And if we're gonna do that,
let's go all the way back. Let's not just do things
like that, but I think you can't
like I said, prisoner of now bullshit.
I think we are. It's
the whole thing I was just speaking of. It's collective.
Be who the fuck you are, feel how you feel.
Obviously, there are going to be
consequences, but this whole notion that we all have to think alike, and we all have to think Be who the f*** you are. Feel how you feel. Obviously, there are going to be consequences.
But this whole notion that we all have to think alike and we all have to think things are wrong.
I remember when Snoop said what he said about Gayle King.
I didn't think he was calling everybody names.
I didn't think it was everybody. I thought it was her.
But there are people who hear that and go, I feel bad.
Well, my f*** wasn't talking to you. Why do I have to?
It's when black people say, when a black dude, it makes us all look bad.
No, it makes that n***a look bad.
I don't know.
But, you know, but there is also nothing wrong for taking accountability.
If you feel, you might feel like you look at it from somebody else's point of view and feel like, you know what?
I get it.
Because sometimes that does happen too.
Empathy is different than taking it on as a martyr.
Empathy is different.
Like everybody loves Jesus.
Wasn't nobody holding with that cross.
Ain't nobody did that.
That's right.
So empathy is different.
But now we have this whole mindset where we don't have, and it's a false one.
Because if you had told me and I feel like you called me a name,
I don't then commensurately feel like you owe me money when you make money off of your creativity.
So I just think individuals are individuals, and people say things that are out of line
and casting people off and judging them for what they said in one moment.
Even with Puff's age, as angry as it made me, he's done a lot of great shit, too.
So it's not that.
But I think you got to be who you are.
And that's why I dig this space.
As dangerous and precarious as this is,
I love this part of, like, I was telling my wife,
I said, I am nervous,
but I feel more comfortable in a situation like this
than I almost ever have.
Absolutely.
Well, definitely thank you for checking in.
We appreciate it.
And if we learned one thing from you today,
we learned get rid of all your Detroit Tiger gear and hats and everything.
That's one thing.
Don't pet no goddamn tigers, bro.
Let me tell you something.
It's a bumper shirt.
Pet a tiger, dude.
I'm telling you, it's the same thing.
I can't. I can't. You're going too far.
Hey, no. He got
a point, though.
Because after Mike Tyson, remember when Mike Tyson had that
white tiger? Shortly after that, he made
that statement. He said, I'll f*** you till you love me.
He said that to another man. There you go.
I think we should leave right there.
Yeah.
Well, Mike Tyson, he said it.
That's a symbiotic relationship.
And D, I'll make sure you give our love to Jasmine.
And shout out to your hairline, by the way.
Your hairline is amazing.
Yeah, you see it.
Tell Charlamagne to take his hat off.
Tell Charlamagne to take his hat off.
I'll take mine off.
Charlamagne, take your hat off, bro.
Take your hat off, Charlamagne.
Hey, I don't follow the crowd.
Neither does your hair. Neither does your hair, Lauren. All right. Now that does your hair.
Now that does your hairline.
All right.
It's the Breakfast Club.
I'm a horrible mother******.
There's all of these.
Except for you, Eddie.
It's D.L. Hughley.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's D.J. Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
We are the Breakfast Club.
Let's get to the rumors.
Let's talk Trina.
It's about time. What's going on the rumors. Let's talk Trina. It's about time.
What's going on?
Rumor Report.
Rumor Report.
This is The Rumor Report.
Talk to them.
With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club.
Yes, so these versus battles are supposed to be friendly battles.
But, you know, people are calling other people out now.
We told you about Kaya saying that she could beat Trina in a battle.
Listen to this.
Who want to charm me like that?
Who?
Trina.
She can't turn this all up.
You want to have a hit battle?
Oh, look, I got 285 hits to put on your ass.
Well, Trina has since responded,
and here's what she had to say
about a possible Trina versus Kaya battle.
Everybody knows me. I'm a queen. This is called royalty over here, okay?
I'm not stepping off my throne to address no bum, no chicks that are beneath me,
and nobody that has not worked as hard as I worked for anything.
So when you girls or whatever you want to be are calling my name, you want to battle, you want to do all this,
first of all, make sure you have 10 hits.
Make sure you have enough records.
Make sure you're on my level if you think you want to go toe-to-toe with me because you cannot.
You are beneath me and you will always be.
Please make sure you understand that.
I love when a person says they are not going to address something, but then they address it.
I love that.
Drop one of Clues bombs for Trina, damn it.
Yeah.
And you know, they haven't gotten along ever.
It's been like 20 years.
The whole point of the versus battle is not for y'all to be beefing for real.
It's supposed to be like a friendly thing, so I don't think that's a good idea.
I mean, that's a versus battle that'll go about six rounds before Trina wins in a TKO
because the first three rounds will be competitive because Kai going to hit her with my neck, my back, K-Wing with it.
And don't trust him.
After that, it's going to be a long fight.
It's going to be a long fight for Kaya.
All right.
Now let's talk about Earl Thomas, NFL star Earl Thomas.
I don't know if you all saw this,
but there was some drama that went down on April 13th.
Now let me break it down because now all this information has gotten out.
So apparently, according to Nina, and Nina is his wife, Nina says that he left the home earlier in
the day after an argument over his drinking and his brother, Seth Thomas, picked him up.
So then she checked on his whereabouts, right? She logged into his Snapchat account
and she found video of her husband Earl with another woman.
Well, she used that Snapchat account and tracked his location,
found out he was at an Airbnb rental home,
and she pulled up.
She also took his pistol with her.
She wanted to scare him.
Yes.
So when she arrived to the house,
and she wasn't by herself, by the way,
when she arrived to the house, and she wasn't by herself, by the way,
when she arrived to the house, she discovered that Earl and Seth were naked in bed with other women.
That's when Nina says that she did pull out a gun and put it to his head and that she took out the magazine thinking the gun couldn't fire,
but she didn't know that the gun had a round in the chamber.
So one of the women in the house shot cell phone video of the incident,
and they say that Nina pointed the gun at Earl's head from less than a foot away
and you can see all this in the video
her finger was on the trigger, the safety was
disengaged, that's when
he was able to wrestle the gun, Earl was
able to wrestle the gun away from his wife Nina
and she also struck
him in the nose before it all ends
and Captain Secret Earl
he corroborated the story.
Nina ended up getting arrested.
And yeah, so all of this information is also out,
available for you to read.
One of the women there also claims that Nina's other friend
was carrying a knife and swinging it aggressively
and that she was pointing the gun at them and yelling,
I got something for all you hoes.
So cops did arrest Nina and both members of her posse,
her friends that were with her.
She was booked for burglary of a residence
with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon,
family violence, and later on she was bonded out.
Earl was not arrested.
There is an emergency protective order.
She has to stay 200 yards away from him
and from his alleged mistress also.
Here is what Earl had to say about this whole incident.
I mean, it's really not anybody's business.
It pisses me off that it got out, but it's the world we live in today.
But instead of talking about this, just keep us in your prayers.
And stuff like this happens, bro.
You know, we try to live the best lives we possibly can, but sometimes it don't go as planned.
Just pray for us, you know us as we go through this stuff.
We're back talking.
I'm seeing my kids.
So just keep us in your prayers.
That would be considered like a crime of passion though, right?
She'd probably get the right attorney.
She probably can beat that.
Walk in and you see a man in a bed with another woman.
I'm sure that would be considered a crime of passion.
I'm sure he won't press charges, though, right?
Oh, my God, no.
He wants privacy right now.
But, you know, it might not even be up to him.
And he has to, I mean,
it's okay, but he understands.
I mean, she's your wife.
Yeah.
You know, the other women in the house,
his mistress could press charges.
It's not completely up to him.
Trust me, that guy Earl said to himself before he did that,
I said to one of his homeboys,
you got to be careful because if my girl catch me,
she going to kill me.
You know, we say that in jest.
But no, we know our women.
Yo, bro.
You know what kind of women we got?
Bro, that, I mean, please.
Jeez.
Get caught in a bed with another woman.
I'm going to try to kill myself.
I'm going to jump out of a window or something.
Another woman.
There was a couple of them.
Yeah, I'm with you.
I'm jumping out of a window.
No, no, no.
Yeah, I'm getting out of here.
I already know where this is going.
Don't even worry about it, baby.
You ain't got to shoot me.
I got this.
Well, Nina Thomas posted a heart emoji.
She said, things happen.
Just asking for prayers and privacy at this time.
Lord have mercy. Oh, things happen. Just asking for prayers and privacy at this time. Lord have mercy.
Oh my goodness.
All right.
Well,
just put a little scare
into everybody this morning.
I'm Angela Yee
and that's your-
You ain't got to scare me.
I ain't never had to go
to that to learn my lesson.
I learned my lesson years ago.
Okay?
Black men don't cheat.
All right?
Black boys do,
but black men,
we don't cheat.
I'm over here.
You see my hairline?
I see your hairline.
I know who loves me.
You right. I know who loves me. You right.
I know who loves me.
You right.
I'm good.
You absolutely right.
But he left the quarantine to do this?
Yeah, that's bad, bro.
That's bad.
How old is Earl?
How old?
And that's what makes it even worse, right?
You leave your house.
And they got married in 2016, so it's been four years since they got married.
But you leave quarantine.
How old is he, though? Like, you went
and slept with two other chicks, possibly
exposing yourself
to corona, right? And amongst
other things, ain't gonna bring that
back home to me? Oh, he's 30.
I think he's 30. 31.
The other part of it, though, is that
you also had your brother as your accomplice.
So now, as your wife, how can I even
trust your brother every time y'all go out together?
Well, that's his brother.
His brother's going to ride with him regardless.
I know, but still, you know, that's a difficult thing for a woman when your brother and your family members know and also help you.
Brother younger, right?
That's hard.
I don't know.
I bet you the brother younger.
Well, today is his birthday, so happy birthday, Earl.
Happy birthday.
Happy birthday. I'm 31 today. his birthday, so happy birthday, Earl. Happy birthday. I already won today.
Happy birthday, man.
And by the way, you really love your side chicks, both of them,
if you left your house during the quarantine to go be with them.
You know what I'm saying?
All you mistresses, all you guys that got side chicks,
if you love that individual enough to go see them during the quarantine,
then you got a problem.
You too deep into it.
You love them too much.
It ain't supposed to be love.
Ain't supposed to be no love going on.
All right.
Well, that is your report.
I'm Angela Yee.
All right.
Happy born day to him.
All right, Charlamagne.
You got donkey of the day coming up?
Yeah, man.
Four after the hour, I got to give donkey of the day to this white man
from St. Paul, Minnesota who killed the black, unarmed
black man. We'll talk about it.
Also, ask Yee, 800-585-1051
if you need relationship advice
or any type of advice. Hit Yee now.
It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
It's time for donkey of the day.
Donkey of the day.
I'm a Democrat, so being donkey of the day
is a little bit of a mixed up. So like a donkey. Donkey of the day-ass jungle man. I'm a Democrat, so being donkey of the day is a little bit of a mixed up.
So like a donkey.
He hung.
Donkey of the day.
The breakfast club, bitches.
Now, I've been called a lot in my 23 years, but donkey of the day is a new one.
Yes, donkey of the day for Thursday, May 7th,
goes to a 24-year-old Caucasian man named Anthony Trifoletti.
Okay, warning. The mayonnaise is heavy on this
one. Uh, and I know the smell of Hellman's in the morning is nauseating for quite a few of us.
Personally, I'm allergic. Let's just get right to it. Anthony has been charged with murder and a
road rage shooting after getting into a verbal altercation with a black man, a brother named
Doug Lewis. Rest in peace to Doug Lewis.
Condolences to his family.
May Allah be pleased with him.
Now, Doug's sister Valerie told the Star Tribune
that her brother Doug was a father of four
who made a living as a delivery driver for 1-800-GOT-JUNK,
Amazon, and DoorDash.
That means he was an essential worker, okay,
the type of person that is truly making the world
go around during this global pandemic. If your house is anything like mine, if your wife is
anything like mine, then it's a damn Amazon box on the step all the time. Okay. Thank you to all
the Amazon delivery folks out there. You are appreciated. Door Dash is an absolute godsend
during a time like this. People got to eat. Okay. And 1-800-GOT-JUNK during a time like this. People got to eat, okay?
And 1-800-GOT-JUNK at a time like this,
when people are at home quarantined,
you do a lot of cleaning,
you find a lot of things you don't want.
I'm thankful that these folks are still coming to pick things up and take them away from your house
at a time like this.
Salute to 1-800-GOT-JUNK, all right?
Thank you to the essential workers
who work at all of these places.
You are valued and appreciated.
And this morning, St. Paul, Minnesota is down a man
because of Anthony Trifoletti's fear of the black man.
Now, I hate rehashing these stories.
I hate talking about these stories.
I hate seeing these stories.
It's Mental Health Awareness Month.
I have personally been holding up pretty well.
I hope
you are too. I have actually been rather calm during this whole coronavirus quarantine. I have
learned to do something my therapist has been telling me to do for the past couple of years,
and that's lean into the uncertainty of life. Stop stressing over things you can't control.
I, for whatever reason, have embraced that concept and detached myself from this situation. And I have not had one anxiety attack.
But all of that changed this week
when that video of the young brother Ahmed Aubrey came out.
I didn't watch that video because I know my trauma triggers,
but I've heard what happened.
And the thought of that triggers what I have told my therapist
is black annoyer.
I am a very black annoyed individual.
What is black annoyer, Charlemagne very black annoyed individual. What is black annoyer,
Charlemagne? What do you mean you're black annoyed? Well, black annoyed is when you are
black and paranoid in America, the paranoia that comes with just existing. All right,
think about that. My presence, just me showing up in everyday life can cost me my life, okay?
I would never ever understand why someone can simply hate me because of the color of my life, okay? I would never ever understand why someone can simply hate me because of the color
of my skin, why someone can fear me just because of the color of my skin. Why am I such a threat
to you, okay? Regular, smegular, everyday things that white people can do and go on about their day
with could cost me my life, okay? Think about it. I met Aubrey was jogging. He's an athlete. He's
quarantined. High school football star. Taking care of himself, going for a run.
Doug Lewis, essential worker, rear ended Anthony's truck, minor fender bender, according to city pages.
OK, the accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 61 and Burns Avenue in St.
Paul. The two drivers pulled on to exit and they exited their vehicles.
Anthony, the murderer, took pictures of the damage to his pickup truck
and later told the police that the two men started arguing
when he tried to get Lewis' insurance information.
See, I hate stuff like this because Doug's not even here to tell his side of the story.
But he told police, Anthony did, that they started arguing, right?
And now here comes the mayonnaise.
This is when the Dukes get spread thick, all right?
Anthony and his friend, because his friends were following him, his friend said they heard Doug Lewis say
I'm a GD. That's what Anthony and his one friend said. They said they heard Doug Lewis say I'm a
GD. Now, Anthony and his friend said they didn't know what that meant, but they took it to mean
he was a gang member. Now, mind you, other witnesses said they didn't hear Doug say that, but you can smell the craft real male on this. You heard Doug say he was a GD, but you claim to
not know what that is, but you think it meant he was a drug dealer. Anthony, if you don't shut the
F up forever, if you don't know what GD is and someone said that to you, I'm a GD, you should
have asked him, okay? If you truly didn't know what that was, you would have exhibited the cluelessness
Caucasians usually do when it comes to cultures
other than theirs, and just asked him
if GD was the name of his insurance company, okay?
You knew exactly what you was doing
when you told the police that.
You was trying to paint a picture
of this essential worker, all right?
This essential worker with dreadlocks.
You was trying to paint the picture of him as a thug.
OK, to justify what your punk ass did next. See, Doug Lewis and Anthony both got back in their cars.
Doug pulled out first and Anthony says he unintentionally followed behind him.
So Doug put his car in park and got out to say, well, what's up? What's going on?
Anthony grabbed a firearm he was permitted to carry and fired at Doug four times.
Then he drove off.
As witnesses called 911 and tried to stop Doug Lewis's bleeding, okay?
An ambulance delivered Doug Lewis to Regents Hospital,
where he was declared dead a few hours later.
Anthony called his dad, told his dad what happened,
and Anthony's dad told him to return to the scene of the crime.
When he got back to the scene of the crime, he told police he feared for his life
because Doug was reaching for his waistband as he approached the truck.
Police say Doug Lewis was unarmed.
Then Anthony said he left the scene in case he hadn't extinguished the threat.
I'm glad his brother Doug Lewis didn't have a gun Because it shows he wasn't a threat
But I wish he did have a gun
Because then maybe, just maybe, he might still have his life
Just like I wish Ahmed Aubrey
Had a gun when he ran into those three white thugs
Those three white goons
In Georgia, okay
My brothers, my sisters, if you listen to your Uncle Charlotte
At any point during this Mental Health Awareness Month
If I give you any, you know
Tools or tips that help with your mental health,
please, please listen to this one when I tell you that when you are black,
owning a legal firearm in America is a form of self-care.
It just is.
It's better to get caught with it than get caught without it.
I would much rather be in jail for defending myself
than be in someone's funeral home laid up in a casket, okay?
Now, Anthony is being held in Ramsey County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Why do I got to drop on a clues bomb for that?
Drop on a clues bomb for that, okay?
Thank you, St. Paul, for not letting this man's white skin be a get-out-of-jail-free card.
All right, he's been charged with second-degree murder
and is facing a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison.
It's a shame that I have to say thank you to the police in St. Paul, Minnesota,
for doing what they are supposed to do.
You shoot a man four times for no damn reason other than you were afraid,
other than you were scared, and because you thought he was a gangbanger,
that's a personal problem that you have to deal with, okay?
You made the wrong call, so you should have to pay for that, period.
But we see all too many times that's not how America works
because mayonnaise is truly America's favorite condiment.
And usually guys like Anthony have the complexion for the protection,
but not this time.
So let's all pray for justice for Doug Lewis.
Let's pray for Doug Lewis's family.
And let's pray that Anthony gets every bit of 40 years.
Please let Chelsea Handler give Anthony Trifoletti the biggest hee-haw.
Hee-haw, hee-haw.
That is way too much Dan Mayonnaise.
Yeah, man.
I get traumatized when I hear these stories.
I get traumatized when I see these things because trauma changes everything.
It messes with every aspect of your thought process and functioning, you know.
And you can just be absolutely triggered by these situations.
So rest in peace to Doug Lewis.
Rest in peace to Ahmed Aubrey.
All right.
And remember, remember, as a black person in America,
owning a gun is a form of self-care, a legal gun.
All right.
Well, thank you for that donkey of the day.
All right. Well, when we come that donkey of the day. All right.

It's DJ Envy, Angela Ye, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
It's time for Ask Ye.
Hello, who's this?
Hi, my name is Francis, and I'm calling from Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
What's up, Francis?
What's your question for Yeezy?
My question for Yeezy is, pretty much me and my wife have been married for like a year
and some months now, and her sister came for visit.
And it looks like she's not going back anytime soon. And my wife hasn't discussed with me how long she was going to stay there or whatever.
And she doesn't do nothing in the house.
Like, she don't clean.
She don't do nothing.
She just come eat and go straight to her room.
Come eat, go straight to her room.
And even if, like, we are cleaning up, that's something that she can offer to help or anything like that.
She won't say nothing about it.
She just go to her room
and she stay up late in the night.
I mean, the army and I
got to get up, like,
early in the morning
and go to work and stuff.
And I have school work
to do sometimes.
I stay up to, like,
11, 12 o'clock.
That's when she will come out
and, like, make a noise
in the kitchen,
doing all that kind of stuff.
And I'm trying to, you know, keep it calm.
I don't want to hurt my wife's feelings by letting her know that,
hey, your sister got to go.
Because she didn't come to stay.
She just came for a visit.
So I don't know why she's still here, and you obviously said nothing about it.
And the last time I overheard them, she was like,
she was going to look for a job or something.
That looks like she's going to stay or something.
And I don't do anything to hurt my wife's feelings.
So I just need help on how to control this.
Well, it's not just about hurting your wife's feelings.
This is your house too, right?
Yeah.
And so you haven't said anything to your wife about it?
So I haven't said anything to my wife about it.
Sometimes, you know, stuff that her sister is going to do,
let's say if my wife is doing something else,
something that is supposed to be done in the house
that her sister can do, that she can at least ask her to do it,
she wouldn't do it.
She would force everything onto her and do it herself.
Yeah, you have to have a conversation with your wife
because this is something that could potentially damage your union,
and I think that has to be the strongest thing and the most important priority for you not about hurting
your wife's feelings but you have to be able to express yourself and communicate because this is
clearly taking a toll on you right yeah I don't I don't like it at all it's pretty much like you
know it's not working with me at all so first of all, the main thing is you and your wife have to have a discussion
because she has to be able to take your side in this.
It's been months now.
Her sister's been living there.
It's affecting you.
It's affecting your job.
It's affecting your relationship.
And you need to tell her that.
You need to say, listen, there's some things that have been bothering me
about your sister staying here.
I understand that you were trying to help her out.
She was only supposed to be visiting.
But now at this point, it's not fair to me and it's not fair to you. And it's affecting our relationship. We need to tell her, give her a deadline on when she
has to move out by this date. You know, we're giving you one more month to stay here. And by
this time you have to be out of the house. In the meantime, there's some rules. My husband has to get
up early for work. You know that. And so at
this particular time, you know, I would appreciate it if you would not make a lot of noise at night
because he has to get up for work. Also, we need your help in participating around the house while
you're staying here rent free. There's some things that you need to handle. And I think that you have
to tell your wife that. Roger that. Okay. Okay. I'm exactly going to do that. Yeah. Right. Give her a deadline.
And I'm sure she has, does she have other family members she can go stay with if she needs to?
If it's an emergency?
I mean, she came all the way from New York and changed the whole situation.
So I was trying to let her stay here for a while before, you know, if anything comes down, then I thought she was going to leave.
But it looks like she's going to be here for a while.
Yeah, somebody has to say something and it should be your wife.
Yeah, exactly.
All right, good.
Well, listen, I understand that's really tough, man,
to have a family member, you know, living in your home.
That does affect you.
So you got to make sure that you step up and speak up for yourself
because sometimes you keep that in and you end up exploding.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I know it's coming up.
Yeah.
I was going to talk to you about that.
All right, Francis.
Best of luck to you.
All right.
Thank you.
All righty.
Ask Yee.
800-585-1051.
If you need relationship advice, hit Yee now.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Get some real advice with Angela Yee. It's Ask Breakfast Club. Good morning. Here's some real advice with Angela Yee.
It's Ask Yee.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
We're in the middle of Ask Yee.
Hello, who's this?
It's Alexis.
Hey, Alexis.
What's your question for Yee?
Hey, Yee.
So my boyfriend, I've been texting him, calling him.
He's not answering.
He said that he'd be at work all the time.
And I can't track his location because I ain't got him on Snapchat,
nothing like that.
So I'm trying to figure out where I can get him.
So is he at work?
Well, yeah, he'd be at work half of the time, but he'd get off at 5 o'clock.
And I'm just like, okay, I know what time you get off.
Like, why haven't you texted yet?
So, but you do talk to him every day?
Yeah, sometimes, but not all the time.
He be saying half of the time he be asleep.
So I don't know.
And the person is in a different city.
Oh, and do you work or what have you been doing right now?
Right now, you know, since the pandemic.
Right now, I'm working at home.
That's the one, but...
So how, let me ask you this.
So he didn't used to act like this, right?
No, because I met him like three years ago.
He'd been trying to get with me
from like three years ago
and I finally started talking to him.
And now it's not like the same
like from three years ago
when he used to blow me up all the time.
Right, so now he got you. So now he's like, okay same like from three years ago when he used to blow me up on the car. Right. So now he got you.
So now he's like, okay, good.
That challenge is overcome.
How long has this been your boyfriend, though?
Since last year of November.
So you think he's doing something else?
Yeah, but look, I don't know.
I've been having my little private investigator, my homegirl.
But she be looking.
She be helping, but we can't find her.
Because it is also possible,
what does he do for a living when you
say he's working till five?
He lays pipe.
So he might be laying pipe.
Wow, okay.
So maybe after hours he's laying pipe.
But the thing is, I will say this
though, Alexi, it is a very stressful
time for a lot of people.
And it is a different type of time.
So we do have to take those things into consideration.
You know, it's hard for me to gauge this because I don't know what he was like before this.
I also know you're home during the day working from home.
So I don't know if that's making you also be extra needy during this time, which is fine.
But do you think that you're are you acting different?
No, I call morning, texting, everything.
And you always did that.
You're not calling and texting more than normal.
No.
All right.
Well, listen, I think that as women, we all know when things aren't right, we feel it in our intuition.
And when a man is responsive and when he cares for us, we know.
And when he's being more distant and he's not answering calls,
especially at a time like this and going to sleep,
supposedly when he comes home from work at 5 o'clock,
we already know what it is.
Yeah.
So, I don't know.
As soon as you feel like you have to start investigating
and doing those things and he's not communicating with you
to your satisfaction, that's an issue.
But it's always that balance of, am I being crazy in my head? And am I overthinking it? Am I
overdoing it? Is he telling me the truth? Cause we always do have that suspicion. We believe what we
want to believe. And sometimes the truth is in our face, but we don't want to see it. So if you feel
like, look, he's not answering my calls, which is always, I think, a red flag. And every day he's
going to work, he's not communicating with me.
He used to, but now he's not.
Is he going through a depression? Is he seeing a lot
of things? Has he lost family members? Does he have
sick family members? You know, take all those
things into consideration too.
Yeah, it's kind of crazy though, because he just said he's starting to go
to therapy and all this stuff.
So I don't know.
Well, if he is, you should be supportive of that.
Like, it is a hard time for people.
And a lot of people are going through a lot.
So, you know, if it could be that,
then communicate and let him know he can speak to you.
It doesn't always have to be an attack
when you do speak to him.
Why aren't you doing this?
Why aren't you doing that?
But just so you know, you can talk to me about anything.
He told you he's going to therapy.
He was being open to you about that.
So maybe it's a good time for you to just say, okay, look,
I just want you to know I'm supportive of whatever it is.
You know, you could talk to me if you're going through some things.
I know it's a difficult time.
That's important, too, for you to determine what is it.
All right.
Thank you so much, C.
And shout out to all y'all.
I really listen to y'all every morning.
Thank you, Alexi.
Well, good luck, Mama.
She sounds so happy.
Yes, I'm on my way to go drop some stuff off
to deliver to my auntie and my grandma in Texas
for Mother's Day.
Hopefully, it gets there on time.
My baby did some crafts for them and stuff.
All right, that's sweet.
All right, Mama.
Keep your spirits up as much as you can.
Okay, thank you.
Love you guys.
Bye.
Love you back. All right, ask Yee, your spirits up as much as you can. Okay, thank you. Love you guys. Bye. Love you back.
All right.
Ask Yee, 800-585-1051 if you need relationship advice or any type of advice.
Now, Yee, we got rumors on the way?
Yes, we are going to talk about an icon.
You're going to hear what he has to say about music right now.
Also, he's a reggae and dancehall artist who we all know and love.
And why does he think that reggae and dance hall is not as commercial as it could be?
All right.
We'll get into that next.
Keep it locked.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Let's get to the rumors.
Let's talk Bujabantan.
She's sp to the rumors. Let's talk Buju Bonton. She's spilling the tea.
This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club.
Well, Buju is quarantining in Kingston, Jamaica at home,
and he has a new project, Upside Down.
And here's what he had to say about the new album and also the title.
Why do I choose a title, Upside Down?
Well, if I listen to a song with other
versions of mine they will say to me the song is bad I think the song is good most of the things
that we talk about we ascribe a negative connotation to it bad becomes good right becomes
wrong innocence become guilt guilt become innocent true, real become fake, up becomes down, and we accept it all.
I like that explanation.
Yeah, that's my wife's favorite artist, so she's super excited to hear some new Buju music.
Right, and he also, you know he's on the Division album, by the way, in case you haven't listened to that yet.
Now, in addition to that, he talks about why he believes that reggae and dancehall isn't mainstream the way it should be what do they say they say reggae music boogaloo music they say this rastaman
already smoke marijuana yes and that's what you guys need to be smoking too because all the drugs
that they're giving you you understand yeah and who benefit from all the drugs you're taking up
there the pharmaceutical companies know who benefit from marijuana the same pharmaceutical
companies we don't want to tell the people
they're lying
we have to tell the people the truth
and that is reggae music
that's why we don't get
the mainstream appeal
and the mainstream behind us
because our music is a music
aimed at uplifting
something inside of you
not outside of you
and that's so true
there always be like
one or two songs
that break through
commercial on the radio here to be like
five years old.
But I always felt like,
you know, listen, all I listen to
when I work out, when I go running is dance
hall and reggae. So I feel
them. All right. Now, Tracee Ellis Ross
is talking about how she is happily
single. She said, I want to be in a relationship,
but I'm not going to spend time
moping around. She did this interview. Actually, I'm trying to think a relationship, but I'm not going to spend time moping around.
She did this interview, actually.
I'm trying to think, when did she do this interview?
She did it a little earlier this year.
It was before lockdown, before coronavirus pandemic created this lockdown situation.
Now, she said she has embraced being 45, unmarried with no kids,
and said that she wished she spent more time growing up dreaming of her life, not a wedding. She said, it's one of the reasons I feel so strongly about telling the stories that I tell.
I wish I had known there were other choices, not just about how I could be living, but how I could
feel about the way my life was. I was raised by society to dream of my wedding, but I wish I had
been dreaming of my life. There are so many ways to curate happiness, find love and create a family.
And we don't talk about them. It creates so much shame and judgment.
She also had said that people misinterpret being happily single as not wanting to be in a relationship.
Of course, I want to be in a relationship.
But what am I going to do?
Spend all the time that I'm not in one moping around?
No, I'm going to live my life to the fullest.
And I'm going to be happy right here where I am.
Why can't you dream about your wife? I mean,
your wedding and your life though. Isn't the wedding just a part of your life? When you dream
about your life, don't you think about all of the different things that you would want to do in your
life? Well, what she's saying is that they kind of programmed you as a child to just buy and society
to dream of her wedding. But she's saying that's not the only thing that you have to look forward
to. And it is true. People make you feel like, okay, you're going to reach this age and you're going to get married.
Then you're going to buy a house.
And sometimes life doesn't happen that way.
And you can still have a fulfilling life and not do things in that order.
Yeah, that's a part of it.
The wedding would be a part of it.
You know what I mean?
You can think about you.
You can simultaneously think about all of that.
You can think about a bunch of different things.
Some things happen.
Some things don't.
So what?
Now, Zoe Kravitz says that now that she's married, she's offended that people
assume she'll have a baby with her husband. She said a lot of people ask the question, when are
you going to have a baby or say things like, when's the baby? And I really get offended by people
assuming that's something that I have to do because society says so. She said, right now,
I'm certainly not in a place where I think I'm able to do that just because of work. And also
just, I don't know, I like my free time. She said, you know, she does love her husband. She said, right now, I'm certainly not in a place where I think I'm able to do that just because of work. And also just, I don't know, I like my free time.
She said, you know, she does love her husband.
She says, I feel like I've known him my entire life.
He's one of the kindest people I've ever met.
He's one of the most honest people I've ever met.
And I feel like I've known him since I was a kid, even though I haven't.
Yeah, everybody way too woke for me.
Like, she's offended?
Yes.
Like, that's common sense.
Like, you get married, that's what people say, okay?
Remember that song used to do?
First comes marriage, then comes the baby carriage.
Like, that's life.
Oh, that song.
That's not society, that's life.
But that's not everybody's life.
Yeah, but when you get married,
when you get married, that's a common sense thing
for people to think, when y'all going to have kids, like, that's nothing to be offended by.
I mean, you can't tell people what to be offended by, but.
She feels that way.
Like, I mean, you get married and then what's next?
You know, usually.
I mean, just people.
I don't know.
I don't think it's the person's intention to offend you when they ask you that is what I would say.
I don't think so either.
All right. Now, Kelly Rowland is talking about being managed by Rock
Nation and how it just happened. She said it's family. She said of her new song, also Coffee,
she wanted it to be an expression of black beauty and the different variations and tones and body
shapes. I was really just inspired by black women. She also said that she's excited about her new
album. She said, I'm excited for the fact that the years it took me to find tempo, the whole album's not up tempo, but I'm excited
to share my tempo. I feel like I always had mids and slower records, but I'm ready to dance.
And the thing is, she said it before the quarantine, we were at the close of the record.
That's when you're like turning the records in, talking to writers and producers. But she said,
it's not that it's slowed down, but definitely made things a little more challenging to navigate.
We got this,
but definitely her album
is going to come out this year.
So, you know, congrats to her.
Congrats to her signing to Roc Nation.
And, you know,
she's been doing her Instagram live
after dark segments also,
if you want to hear some more
about Kelly Rowland.
All right, I'm Angela Lee.
Kelly Rowland.
I love Kelly Rowland. That's the Godiva chocolate goddess right there. Good people. Good energy always. All right, I'm Angela Yee. I'm Kelly Rowland. I love Kelly Rowland.
That's the Godiva chocolate goddess right there.

Good energy, always.
All right, I'm Angela Yee,
and that is your rumor report.
All right, thank you, Miss Yee.

Yee, did you report that one of the brothers from BMF were released?
Yeah.
I'm not sure.
Terry.
Yeah, Terry has been released.
Yeah, he was released about a day ago.
Oh, that's exciting.
Yeah, a couple days ago because of the coronavirus.
Yeah.
The way the coronavirus is running through prisons.
I was, you know, how do you release one and then don't release the other?
Yeah, they told Big Meech no.
Yeah, they told Meech no, but the other brother, yes.
They're not in the same facility, though.
They're not?
No, I don't think so.
They're not in the same facility.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to that BMF movie, man.
I think that's going to be a great flick, great movie.
Or series, I should say.
I thought it was a TV series.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
If they do it right.
I just, you know,
I always wondered about,
you know, 50 being from New York
and doing that,
but it seems like he's very in tune
with, you know,
a lot of the old BMF members
and now Big T home,
so I know they're going to get it right.
Right.
Yeah, I can't wait to see that.
When does that start?
Does anybody know?
I have no idea. All right. I'm going to get it right. Right. Yeah, I can't wait to see that. When does that start? Does anybody know? I have no idea.
All right.
I'm not sure.
All right.

You all finished or you all done?
Had enough of this country?
Ever dreamt about starting your own?
I planted the flag.
This is mine.
I own this.
It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy.
55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete.
Or maybe not.
No country willingly gives up their territory.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
