Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast, Guaranteed Human. I'm Stefan Curry, and this is Gentleman's Cut. I think what makes Gentleman's Cut different is me being a part of developing the profile of this beautiful finished product. With every sip, you get a little something different. Visit Gentleman's Cut Bourbon.com or your nearest Total Wines or Bevmo. This message is intended for audiences 21 and older. Gentleman's Cut Bourbon, Boone County, Kentucky. Starting point is 00:00:30 gentlemen's cut bourbon.com. Please enjoy responsibly. Michael Lewis here. My best-selling book, The Big Short, tells the story of the build-up and burst of the U.S. housing market back in 2008. A decade ago, the Big Short was made into an Academy Award-winning movie,
Starting point is 00:00:48 and now I'm bringing it to you for the first time as an audiobook narrated by yours truly. The Big Short's story, what it means to bet against the market, and who really pays for an unchecked financial system is as relevant today as it's ever been. Get the big short now at pushkin.fm slash audio books or wherever audiobooks are sold.
Starting point is 00:01:11 I knew it was a bomb the second that it exploded. I felt it ripped through me. In season two of Rip Current, we asked who tried to kill Judy Berry and why. They were climbing trees and they were sabotaging logging equipment in the woods. She received death threats before the bombing. She received more threats after the bombing. I think that this is a deliberate attempt to sabotage our movement.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Episodes of Rip Current Season 2 are available now. Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to Decoding Women's Health. I'm Dr. Elizabeth Pointer, chair of Women's Health and Gynecology at the Atria Health Institute in New York City. I'll be talking to top researchers and clinicians and bringing vital information about midlife women's health directly to you. A hundred percent of women go through menopause. Even if it's natural, why should we suffer through it?
Starting point is 00:02:05 Listen to decoding women's health with Dr. Elizabeth Pointer on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm I'm Yvalongoria. And I'm Maite Gomezrejoin, and this week on our podcast, Hungry for History, we talk oysters, plus the Mianbe Chief stops by. If you're not an oyster lover, don't even talk to me. Ancient Athenians used to scratch names onto oyster shells to vote politicians into exile. So our word ostracize is related to the word oyster.
Starting point is 00:02:35 No way. Bring back the OsterCon. Listen to Hungry for History on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I just wanted to know how you came up with the don't be in a day. Because you're in a name. I am not. What did I do? Automating don't hear that.
Starting point is 00:02:54 There's a bunch of dogs. We got hit in the street. That is why Charlemagne is it? We live a life where we fight our tongue based off who we made a thing. We never would say anything. We don't get the damn gone throwing out. Hey. Give it to her.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Give it to him. On the breakfast club. In the words of Charlemagne, the guy. He's a donkey. That's a dog. Oh, man, Charlemagne, you're giving donkey a day to who now? Well, Buster rhymes. Donkey A day for Monday, December 15th, goes to 21-year-old Cyan Baxter.
Starting point is 00:03:24 I believe Lauren La Rosa knows this young man. Okay, he's from Delaware, and he was charged with vehicle theft after police say he confessed to stealing a Hyundai Sonata that was left running. Now, listen, cars get stolen every day, B, but what I am always intrigued by is when people commit crimes and move like the crime they just committed wasn't a crime. Okay, I'm telling you, I don't know what it is about this era. I have a theory that because of the internet, social media, AI, people have no idea what's real and what's not anymore. fantasy looks like reality fiction looks like facts so I have a theory when you see people committing crimes and moving like those crimes is just everyday tasks that people have on their to-do list it's because they really don't know any better okay see Kayan saw this Hyundai Sonata sitting
Starting point is 00:04:09 outside he saw it was left running and he thought it was his okay couldn't possibly be stealing if the car is running Kayan probably thought it was a sign from the heavens okay he probably thought he manifested it so he stole it well he was caught ladies and gentlemen okay would you like to know how he was caught he got caught because he was moving like the stolen vehicle was actually his see the car got told and guess what cayenne did cayon uh cayon called the police okay what the report that the vehicle had been told and he wanted to retrieve some items that he left inside the car i can't make this kind of stuff up people he called the police and told them the car had been told and he wanted to retrieve some items he left
Starting point is 00:04:54 inside the vehicle. This man treated the police like the lost and found at the bowling alley. He ended up getting arrested on the same street where the Hyundai was stolen. He returned to the scene of the crime after calling the police to tell them he needed to retrieve some items from
Starting point is 00:05:10 the vehicle. He stole the day before. Young man, this is not Amazon Prime. You don't get same-day recovery on stolen vehicles. And this is why we have to encourage these young men to learn a trade. Okay, we are losing potential plumbers. Age back specialists, electricians, welders, to the streets.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Okay, and the reality is sometimes smart people do dumb things, okay, that lead them to have criminal records. But some people are actually too dumb to even be criminals. Okay, Kayan is a person who is too dumb to even be a criminal. By the way, I take that back. I don't know if Kayan is dumb. I just think Kayan didn't think what he was doing was a crime. In his mind, what he did was perfectly normal. stole a car didn't kill anyone
Starting point is 00:05:56 no drugs involved no guns just a little stolen car that got told no big deal cops will let me retrieve my items out of it you can't call the police the reported crime that you committed just because you already moved on emotionally from it okay
Starting point is 00:06:12 do y'all not understand how ridiculous this story is he stole a car then he got the car told and instead of just charging it to the game he said let me escalate this to customer service I have to know what you left in the car Okay, that isn't in any of the news reports I've read But I need to know what you left in this car
Starting point is 00:06:31 That would make you call the police Was it money? Was it jewelry? Probably not Because if you had valuable things You wouldn't be doing things like stealing cars What's the moral of the story here? Sometimes the lesson costs more than the loss Please give Kayan Baxter the biggest he-ha That's crazy
Starting point is 00:06:54 That's not like a Baltimore story To be honest with you Delaware Delaware is close enough They're right there Damn You want a game Nope
Starting point is 00:07:01 The chat wants to play a game I know the chat wants to play a game Okay The chat wants to play a game All right chat If y'all want to play We can play a game of Guess what race it is
Starting point is 00:07:12 All right Cyan Baxter 21 years old of Delaware Black He's still I don't want to play no more I don't want to play no more I don't even like the way you said that
Starting point is 00:07:24 but sorry I don't play no way I don't play no more I don't play anymore you know what I'm saying you know Jess what you think it don't even matter
Starting point is 00:07:33 okay because see the thing about working with biracials whenever that other side jump out the way it just jumped out just now I don't want to play with him no more
Starting point is 00:07:42 see we'd be like yeah he said it real hard too you see what I'm saying you see what I'm saying yeah We let it, we let, I guess, whatever little bit of black in him participate, but then this type, others, you know? Like, you said it from the depths of your throat, you, like, you, yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:56 You sound like the Dominican and Washington Heights reporting the crime. I didn't like that. I'm black. I didn't like that. I didn't like that. All right. I did not like that at all. Is he black?
Starting point is 00:08:05 It don't even matter no more. All right. Okay. Thank you for that donkey of day. But it's in case you must know. Yes. Damn. He bought rage dougars.
Starting point is 00:08:15 He looks like he mixed with pit bull. This man He's like He's 21 I knew he was biting people in class When he was six I'm telling you You see him
Starting point is 00:08:23 Jesus No I was saying Yeah All right Well thank you for that donkey Of the day Let's send you a picture of him Now when we come back
Starting point is 00:08:31 He's running for governor Of South Carolina Jermaine Johnson He'll be joining us in a second So don't go anywhere It's the Breakfast Club Good morning Donkey of today
