Starting point is 00:00:00 Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:00:16 What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. We need help! That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast
Starting point is 00:00:46 Post Run High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, my undeadly darlings. It's Teresa, your resident ghost host. And do I have a treat for you. Haunting is crawling out from the shadows, and it's going to be devilishly good. We've got chills, thrills, and stories that'll make you wish the lights stayed on.
Starting point is 00:01:26 So join me, won't you? Let's dive into the eerie unknown together. Sleep tight, if you can. Listen to Haunting on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Marie. And I'm Sydney. And we're Mess. Well, not a mess, but on our podcast called Mess, we celebrate all things messy.
Starting point is 00:01:50 But the gag is not everything is a mess. Sometimes it's just living. Yeah, things like J-Lo on her third divorce. Living. Girl's trip to Miami. Mess. Breaking up with your girlfriend while on Instagram Live. Living.
Starting point is 00:02:25 It's kind of a mess. Yeah. Well, you get it. Got it. Live, love, mess. Listen to Mess with Sydney Washington and Marie Faustin on iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Daphne Caruana Galizia was a Maltese investigative journalist who on October 16th 2017 was assassinated. Crooks Everywhere unearthed the plot to murder a one-woman WikiLeaks. She exposed the culture of crime and corruption that were turning her beloved country into a mafia state. Listen to Crooks Everywhere on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. It's time for Donkey of the Day. Donkey of the Day does not discriminate. I might not have the song of the day, but I got the Donkey of the Day. So if you ever feel I need to be a donkey man, hit it with the heat.
Starting point is 00:03:13 It's a breakfast club, bitches. Who's Donkey of the Day today? Well, Donkey of the Day for Thursday, July 13th goes to Google. Now, this is our first week back from vacation, so I wanted to give Google Donkey of the Day when I first saw this, but we weren't here. Now, let's be clear clear google gets things wrong all the time okay especially when it comes to black people all right number one the celebrity net worth just false completely fabricated any number you see i promise is complete nonsense rubbish malarkey first of all uh all our net worths are priceless right you can't put a dollar amount on any of god's creations and two i don't
Starting point is 00:03:43 have that kind of money all right stop but more so than that more so than the money what i worry about it there's a generation of people who are really not going to know the true history of folks who have made significant contributions to the arts because of google's misinformation and see when we were away there was a mix-up between masterpiece and lucifer vandross anybody see that that's crazy when you search luther vandross on google masterpiece picture came up i can't make this kind of stuff up let's listen to masterpiece thoughts on it you don't have masterpiece thoughts okay jesus christ those were his thoughts yeah no oh well mix-ups like that are the reason black people are obligated i mean uh required okay i'm talking we should be committed to not knowing who famous white people are obligated i mean uh required okay i'm talking we should be committed
Starting point is 00:04:25 to not knowing who famous white people are all right i do it all the time i act like i don't know the difference between taylor swift and ariana grande purposely okay when you hear a classic throwback like complicated by avril lavigne you gotta turn to a white person and say man this is one of my favorite britney spears songs okay listen to me you have to do it because you know at some point they're going to disrespect us. I love acting like I don't know who's in the Beatles. If a white person asks me
Starting point is 00:04:48 who's in the Beatles, I say Elton John. I say Sting. I say Paul McCartney. I say Machine Gun Kelly. I do it on purpose because if you don't care enough to do your due diligence
Starting point is 00:04:57 and get black legends correct, then why should I act like I know what the hell is going on with white legends? And that's word to the first president of the United States of America, George W. Bush. Now, let me also say, Jamie Foxx and Colin Firth, I believe his name is, who I will not purposely mix up with Colin Farrell because I love what they're doing. They, along with Sony Pictures, are doing a documentary on the legendary Luther Vandross.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Drop on the clues box for Jamie Foxx and Colin Firth for doing that. Because any word you use for great in regards to luther vandross is an understatement so he deserves all his flowers i don't care what synonym you have for great you know you can look in the thesaurus don't matter if you're talking big luther or skinny luther that man's voice is anointed okay dance with my father here and now if only for one night phenomenal phenomenal tunes Do we have the Maths for the Audio yet? No, still don't have it. Well, I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:05:49 I think all us white folk look alike. I look in the mirror sometimes. I'm like, am I me? Jesus. Am I Jeffree Star? Who am I? No, they say that to me all the time. You do look like Jeffree Star. And I hate that people say that.
Starting point is 00:05:59 And it's not like that, but it's just like, yeah. Y'all do not all look alike. Like, what if somebody told you you look like Young Jack or something Like you don't want to be told You look like Jesus No I'm just saying Like what girl wants to be told
Starting point is 00:06:09 They look like That is true You know what I mean But we do all look alike I agree But I will say You know With all the praise
Starting point is 00:06:16 I just gave Lufa Vandross He ain't no Percy Miller Okay Lufa Vandross Made close eye get to you But he ain't never made Make him say ya
Starting point is 00:06:24 Make him say ya Right you see Lufa Vandross Lufhor Vandross made Close Eye Get to You, but he ain't never made Make Him Say Ya. Make Him Say Ya! You see? Luthor Vandross made If This World Was Mine, but he ain't never made an ice cream, man. Oh my God. Luthor made Never Too Much, but he ain't never made a No Limit Soldier. Y'all stay disrespecting Percy Miller, and I'm sick of it. Big Luthor Vandross ate a lot of cereal.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Master P owns his own cereal. Okay, there's differences. There's levels. Let's talk about it. And I got $100 in somebody's cash app right now if they can get me an AI version of Master P singing Lufa Vandross, Power of Love. And I got another $100 if you can get me an AI version of Lufa Vandross singing I Miss My Homies. That's the only way to settle this. Okay, the moral of the story is there's never a reason to not know who master p is and there's never a reason to not know who lufa vandross is especially when your google and your alleged mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible
Starting point is 00:07:14 and useful okay when a search is supposed to make it easy to discover a broad range of information from a wide variety of sources that is what google Google is supposed to do. I don't know who they sourced to see what Lufa Vandross looks like, but that source got our beautiful black musical culture effed up. Please let Remy Ma give Google the biggest hee-haw. Hee-haw! Hee-haw! You stupid
Starting point is 00:07:37 mother f***er. You dumb. That's right. I love her. I love Remy. How can you not? And who's in the Beatles? Elton John Sting Paul McCartney and Machine Gun Kelly okay
Starting point is 00:07:50 you forgot Ringo who is that the one the one who got like forgotten I think like the Ringo Starr they're always like that's the one who
Starting point is 00:07:57 Ringo is Bluey's sister who you don't know who Bluey is wow I really don't know white history Beyonce and Jay Z's't know who Bluey is? Wow. I really don't know white history. Beyonce and Jay-Z's daughter, Blue? Oh.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Bluey. Oh, I don't know. Mom! You ain't got no kids. You be lying. Oh, Bluey. Oh, Blue's clues? Blue's clues?
Starting point is 00:08:16 I'm lost. Wow. Now you're getting white dolls mixed up. Who are we talking about? Bluey and Bluey are not the same person. Okay? Baby Shark? I have no idea what you're talking about Cocoa Mellon
Starting point is 00:08:26 Cocoa Mellon Gracie's Corner Yeah Y'all need to be playing Gracie's Corner Gracie's Corner Jesus Christ I don't know what that is What?
Starting point is 00:08:35 I can do what it says Gracie's Corner It's a black Black girl that does all the alphabets And stuff I know Tabitha Tabitha Brown Yep
Starting point is 00:08:44 Yeah Gracie's Seven Oh okay Alright Well thank you for that donkey of the day Alphabet's and stuff. I know Tabitha. Tabitha Brown? Yep. Yeah. Gracie Seven. Oh, okay. All right. Well, thank you for that donkey of the day. BET. Say peace to BET. BET, we'll see you tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Y'all don't want to say goodbye to BET? Oh, bye, y'all. Bye, BET. Thank y'all for having us. Bye, BET. All right. Everybody else, 800-585-1051. We were talking earlier about Kiki Palmer's boyfriend and him expressing his feelings, right?
Starting point is 00:09:07 We want to open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051. He expressed his feelings. People made fun of him. They said he was too sensitive. They said that he was acting like a sucker and all these other things. So we want to ask. I think he's wrong.
Starting point is 00:09:20 There's a certain way to articulate your feelings, whether you're male or female. There has to be emotional intelligence and maturity, too. You're right. And this is why we're going to have this conversation, because I want to know, is it even worth it for men to express their feelings publicly? Because everything you're saying, B. Simone, is right. But how come we can't have that conversation? Why don't people just automatically go to, oh, he's insecure. He's a sucker.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I don't think that's right either. They shouldn't have attacked him. Let him communicate his feelings. And if he didn't communicate his feelings right, then let's right either Let him communicate his feelings And if he didn't communicate his feelings right Then let's show him how to communicate his feelings I agree Well let's talk about it when we come back 800-585-1051
