That's what my podcast

Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, y'all. Niminy here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Executive produced by Questlove, The Story Pirates, and John Glickman, Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone.
Starting point is 00:01:30 The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did
Starting point is 00:01:45 the same thing. Check it. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, 1974.
Starting point is 00:02:19 George Foreman was champion of the world. Ali was smart and he was handsome. The story behind The Rumble in the Jungle is like a Hollywood movie. But that is only half the story. There's also James Brown, Bill Withers, B.B. King, Miriam Akiba.
Starting point is 00:02:33 All the biggest black artists on the planet. Together in Africa. It was a big deal. Listen to Rumble, Ali, Foreman, and the Soul of 74 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone.
Starting point is 00:02:49 This is Courtney Thorne-Smith, Laura Layton, and Daphne Zuniga. On July 8th, 1992, apartment buildings with pools were never quite the same as Melrose Place was introduced to the world. We are going to be reliving every hookup, every scandal, and every single wig removal together. So listen to Still the Place on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Don't you? It's time for donkey of the day. So if you ever feel I need to be a donkey man, hit me with the heat. Did she get donkey in the name, please? Absolutely. I have become donkey of the day.
Starting point is 00:03:33 The breakfast club, bitches. You're a donkey. Please don't laugh at my headphones. My headphones are trash today. I forgot mine at the house. They look crazy. Donkey of the day. For Friday, May 17th.
Starting point is 00:03:43 It's like a part two to yesterday's donkey of the day uh yesterday i gave donkey to alabama governor k ivy and the 25 mayonnaise flavored mammals who voted 25 to 6 to sign into uh an abortion bill that could possibly sentence doctors who perform abortions to life in prison okay alabama is the first state to have a straight ban on abortion but seven other states this year have passed abortion restrictions uh these old caucasian colonizers in alabama don't care if you get pregnant via rape via incest they just don't want you having abortions period my first question always when things like this happen is why that's what i was trying to figure out yesterday what is the why to all of this why do these men care so much when it comes to what women do with their
Starting point is 00:04:21 bodies i saw people posting this on instagram all day yesterday. They kept quoting Tupac Shakur and the words of Tupac Shakur. When it comes to your baby, a man has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one. That is a fact. Now, it's a reason I didn't quote that exactly, because Pac said since a man can't make one, he has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one. The truth to the matter is men can make babies. We can't carry them and we can't have them, but we can make them. But we all know what Pac meant. So carry on. Now, back to the why. Back to the matter is men can't make babies we can't carry them and we can't have them but we can make them but we all know what pock meant so carry on now back to the why uh back to the why of it all why is this abortion ban happening uh some are saying the reasons they are doing this are religious i am not a biblical scholar so somebody please send me the bible
Starting point is 00:04:58 scripture that says abortion is wrong i haven't researched it but i'm down to learn uh if it's there let me see what i would like to see is a pastor who disagrees with the abortion ban. Sit down with one of these old white men who voted for this abortion ban and let them go at it. All right. That would be interesting. Also, some people like this call it Deborah who called into the breakfast club or just pro-life and don't feel like any life should be taken. OK, some of these old white men who voted on the bill are taking that stance, too. But these are the same people who love the death penalty and ignore the Black Lives Matter movement, so how much do you really care about life or lives in general? But let's listen to what Debra had to say this morning on The Breakfast Club. Okay, yeah, I want to talk about the abortion
Starting point is 00:05:36 stuff that you were saying. Well, I think it's wrong, and it's killing, you know, someone's life that's got no voice and that's got no choice. So it's completely wrong. So what about when a woman gets raped? Well, f*** no, you know, you just have to deal with it. Wow. What about if a girl is 12 years old? I mean, come on.
Starting point is 00:06:00 If she doesn't want a baby, I mean, a baby's a gift. And if she doesn't want the baby, I mean, a baby's a gift. And if she doesn't want the baby, just give it away. It's easy. Just have the baby. You don't have to kill it. Y'all not about to go back and forth. Where you calling from, huh?
Starting point is 00:06:13 Alabama. No, Indianapolis. You're white, right? I am not. I am black. No, I feel like you should think about it as well because it's just not right. And if killed someone's life you should be killed as well yeah she's pro-life uh i'm pro-choice that's her opinion it just all sounds so hypocritical to me especially when you know like i said yesterday pamela turner 44 years old got shot five times by
Starting point is 00:06:35 the police police this week i don't see people like deborah who are so anti-abortion and so pro-life standing up for her against the police but whatever uh let's talk about the why okay what is the why of this abortion ban i really did not understand it but i gave it some thought yesterday and keep in mind i am a brilliant idiot okay every now and then on sundays i think about going to chick-fil-a and have to remind myself that it's closed even though i have 40 years of research that lets me know chick-fil-a is indeed closed on sundays so these are just my thoughts and i don't know how much stock you should put into my thoughts and i'm pretty sure you know uh i will discuss this with my therapist today but i was thinking i was thinking about this whole abortion ban thing and i said to myself i don't understand why these old white men are so
Starting point is 00:07:16 hell bent on this why an abortion ban why now and it hit me this is all about self-preservation for the white race okay follow me for a second all right self-preservation for the white race. OK, follow me for a second. All right. Now, anybody who reads a little bit knows that according to some census projects, the USA will become minority white in 2045. All right. 2045, white people will be the minority and the majority will be Hispanics and Latinos. So the population and political power will be with those communities and they will be the new majority. Now, I was looking at some abortion statistics and I saw that 37 percent of women having abortions are white 37 percent of black 19 percent hispanic seven percent of other races are other races so when you understand that
Starting point is 00:07:54 some white people have a fear of a brown planet then you will understand the government's efforts to keep latino immigrants out it's not a coincidence that yesterday trump unveiled a new immigrant plan to overhaul legal immigration. So if you keep Latinos and Hispanics out, you slow down the growth of that community. You ban abortions. Well, the population of white people increases. OK, listen, not just the population of white people, because all white people aren't Republicans or conservatives, but the white people in these particular states are in these seven states that have already passed some sort of abortion ban. They're all red states. OK, all the states with passes abortion ban are red states alabama mississippi georgia ohio
Starting point is 00:08:28 kentucky utah arkansas population of these places is white okay heavy white heavy republican too much goddamn mayonnaise so this ban in these places will affect a lot of white women if they can get the number of white women having abortions down keep latinos out keep deporting then maybe in 2045 white people won't be the majority i mean white people will still be the majority and they can maintain the political power they have in this country so this isn't about religion or saving the lives of fetuses this is about self-preservation and not losing political power okay to the hispanic community in 2045 but don't listen to me, because I didn't cry when Tony Stark died in Endgame.
Starting point is 00:09:08 And this morning, on the way to work, I listened to Old Town Road remix with Billy Ray Cyrus four times. So I don't know if I can be trusted. Is it just my thoughts? Just the way I was feeling at the time. So please, once again, let Chelsea Handler give these people passing these abortion bans the biggest
Starting point is 00:09:24 hee-haw. Hee-haw, hee-haw. That is way too much Dan Mayonnaise. But I would like to discuss. Yes, I've seen that theory floating around. What theory? The one that you just said. Oh, you saw that? Yeah, I've seen it all over the Internet.
Starting point is 00:09:38 People are saying that the reason why white people don't want to allow people to have abortions is because they want to make sure they're more populated. Let's open up the phone lines. Let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051. We're talking about... What is it? It's not the abortion...
Starting point is 00:09:58 Is it the abortion ban? We haven't opened the phone lines to our listeners all week about the abortion ban. So let's open up the phone lines. Let's get your opinion. Do you agree? Do you disagree? 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:10:08 Lady Debra called in this morning. She's from Indianapolis. She's definitely pro-life. And I think it's okay if you don't want to have an abortion, but you shouldn't pass judgment or have any say in what anybody else wants to do with their own body. You can do whatever you want with your body, and anyone else can do
Starting point is 00:10:23 anything they want with theirs. It shouldn't be up to one person, for you to make a decision for everyone. Alright, we'll talk about it when we come back. 800-585-1051 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine.
