Starting point is 00:00:52 It must have been. Okay, I don't think that's true. I'm telling you. The guy was a spy. Listen to the secret world of Roll Doll on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Chetty, host of the On Purpose podcast. My latest episode is with Hilary Duff, singer, actress, and multi-platinam artist.
Starting point is 00:01:13 You desire in family like this picture, and that's not reality. My sister and I don't speak. It's definitely a very painful part of my life. And I hope it's not forever. Starting point is 00:01:35 I'm Amanda Knox, and in the new podcast, doubt the case of Lucy Letby. We unpack the story of an unimaginable tragedy that gripped the UK in 2023. But what if we didn't get the whole story? Evidence has been made to fit. The moment you look at the whole picture, the case collapsed. What if the truth was disguised by a story we chose to believe?
Starting point is 00:01:55 Oh my God, I think she might be innocent. Listen to Doubt the case of Lucy Lettby on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Clayton Eckerd. In 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. But here's the thing. Bachelor fans hated him. If I could press a button and rewind it all I would. That's when his life took a disturbing turn. A one-night stand would end in a courtroom. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. Listen to Love Trapped on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm a homeguard that knows a little bit about everything and everybody. You know if you're going to lie about that, right? Lauren came in hot. Hey, y'all, what's up?
Starting point is 00:02:52 It's Lauren La Rosa. And this is another episode of the latest Lauren Rosa. This is your daily day on all things pop culture, entertainment news, and all of the conversations that shake the room. Oh my God. All of the conversations that shake the room, baby. I forgot. How I forget the baby, y'all? Okay, so let's start off with checking and behind the scenes of the grind. Yeah, today has just been one of those days that have just been like nonstop ongoing. I think it's just the end the week hitting the end of the week you know how everything like compiles all in one day but it's
Starting point is 00:03:33 been a good day nonetheless um i've been spending a lot more time getting and shipping um and figuring out all of your order so thank you to everybody who has ordered from uh brongargrining.com which is the so brongar grinding is the production company so um you know they play a hand in that day We play a hand in producing the podcast that you guys are listening to, the content that I do with brands, just so many different things. And everything is housed under Bronga Grinding. And we have merch on the website, Brancagrinding.com. And y'all have been like really supportive and I've really, really appreciated it to the point where it's like all hands on deck. We have Muslim people sending out orders, making sure everybody gets everything that they need, everything that they ordered.
Starting point is 00:04:25 and just staying on top of things. So last night, I was up until like 2 a.m. Making sure that I packed orders right. And I just had everything together for this morning to the point where I missed my teas this morning on the breakfast club because I was just up until like late. I was in and on to sleep. To be honest, though. Like I had fallen asleep, got up.
Starting point is 00:04:49 I was like, all right, let me, you know, put this stuff to the side, fell back to sleep. And then when I was in front of sleep, and then when I was falling asleep, I was, I was, I was falling asleep. and then when I woke up, I'm like, oh my God, I'm running late. But I appreciate you guys, though, a lot. And I was thinking about it as I was, you know, making sure that everything got shipped out today that I've always said that I wanted like Brancard Grinding as a production company to be so, oh, my God, it's snowing. I'm looking at the window right now in New York and it's snowing.
Starting point is 00:05:16 And it's been like 70, 80 degrees here. That's so crazy. But I've always said that I wanted Brongard Grinding as a production company and all of the content. that we put out, all of the stories that we tell us to be done at a very high level. Like, I've always wanted people to look at us and be like, okay, this is the Nike of what they do, of content, of storytelling. And you could tell stories in so many different ways. Fashion has always been away for me in designing and figuring out all of that.
Starting point is 00:05:44 And that space has always been a passion area for me. So to see people like purchasing the, you know, the gear and wearing it and tagging it. somebody texted me the other day and was like they were just so excited that they placed their order and if their order was out for delivery and they sent me a screenshot of the delivery and they were like, yo, I'm a part of the movement.
Starting point is 00:06:06 And I was like, yes, that's the energy. The energy is this is a movement. Get with it or get lost, but it's so good to see people actually being receptive to that. So make sure you guys go and check out Brongrelgrinding.com to get everything going that you need when it
Starting point is 00:06:22 comes to the merch. The Black Effect podcast festival tickets are on sale. You can visit black effect.com, black, black, black, black, black, black, black, black, uh, for all of that information. And I will be at the festival. We will have merch on sale at the festival. So I am really excited. But it's just a good feeling, um, to, you know, be packing all these orders and have
Starting point is 00:06:42 all these things to do because people are buying and they like it. And yeah, I just, man, I love y'all. My, the low riders, like you guys hold us down. Um, so. so much. So as I was packing orders, as tired as I was, baby, I was like, oh, this is such a great feeling. You put things out into the world. You don't know how they're going to be received. But when they're received well, it's such a great feeling. So thank you guys for the orders. Everything is on its way. We're all cut up at this point. But it depends on what time you listen
Starting point is 00:07:14 to this, because there may be like a thousand more, okay? Make sure you guys visit broncogrinding.com again to shop the merch on the website. This is your exclusive invite right here from the latest with Lauren the Rose of the podcast. Now let's get on into the latest. Speaking of putting things out into the world and not knowing how people are going to receive them, man, Drake. That is the line right there, man, Drake, okay? So Drake has a new project coming.
Starting point is 00:07:47 The project is called Iceman. And Drake has been releasing, like, visuals, like, these, like, many films. Just to, like, support the fact that this new project is coming now. It was supposed to come in early 26. But I feel like now that we're leaving March, early 2026 is kind of over. But that is all that we know. And I think every single time that fans anticipate, I think, every single time that fans anticipate, Iceman is about to drop, like a few weeks ago, maybe even a month ago now, I remember people being like almost definitely for sure that they knew that Drake was dropping signals and that Iceman was going to drop on a specific Friday.
Starting point is 00:08:34 And that Friday came and went and nothing dropped. But we are back here again. Drake is doing it again to us. Okay, he has us all wrapped up and ready to hear the music. So Drake changed the Abby on his Instagram to a 2000s. photo of Little Wayne, back when Little Wayne was on a Jenny Jones show. And every single time, Drake is getting ready to release new music. He is, like, changing ads on Instagram and all of the things.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Now, you also posted to his Instagram, an Insta story that said that the comeback is, this one is personal for him. And that has been the conversation. Now, Drake, don't get me wrong, Drake has been breaking records across streaming platforms over the last few months. I feel like a lot of people don't talk about it. And I think that it's a double-edged store. I think, number one, people don't talk about it because the narrative, after not like us,
Starting point is 00:09:26 is that Drake is this, you know, wo-as-me artist. And Drake is still Drake at the end of the day, so I don't believe that. But I think that's what's out there, right? And then everything happened with the lawsuit and him suing Universal Music Group, them asking for the lawsuit to be dismissed, a judge, you know, just all of the things that have happened since then and just how it has made Drake look as an artist. Basically like a sore loser. Like basically like someone who can't accept the fact that he is still at the top,
Starting point is 00:10:00 but he might not be everybody's favorite right now. On the other end of that sword, you have the fact that there's, because of not like us, there's been this bot conversation about, you know, alleging that Drake and his, his streams and, you know, all the numbers and, you know, all of the streaming records that were breaking or that, you know, his music is breaking doesn't really belong to him because it's not real. Everything is inflated. And I think there are people who, you know, even though things are, you know, just said in conversation or alleged, because I know, Drake alleged that, you know, Kendrick Lamar and Universal Music Group.
Starting point is 00:10:46 inflated numbers and push things in a way that they shouldn't have. And there's been conversation about Drake and embodying and him using money from stake to do so. Like, everything is just so murky right now. I feel like people don't know what to believe. But to be honest with you, I think that this is the best time for Drake to come through with some good music. Because I think if nothing else, I think about it, if nothing else, good music is going to stand. And it could change a narrative, but your messaging and that music has to be so strong. when Drake dropped his last project, right?
Starting point is 00:11:20 Nokia was on the project. I remember saying on the breakfast club, Nokia is the one, this song is fire. And they were like, what? You didn't even get a chance to listen to it. I'm like, no, you can listen to a project and identify which song is going to resonate the best, especially for that time period.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Like, people wanting to be outside, people wanting to have something to dance to, people wanting something a beat, and just wanting like some feel-good music from Drake. because at that point it's like we don't even really know what to expect because you want to feel like oh my god he's been through so much but it was just it was just a little rap battle which he participated in but no kea went crazy it broke records it was all over the streaming charts i mean it was it was topping charts right but the narrative still stands of drake kendrick not like us winner sore loser that whole thing the best thing drake can do right now is draw some music that is so undeniably good and And the narrative is so undeniably good and causes conversation. I don't think people will forget the not like us moment, but I do think that it will help. And when Drake dropped a lot of the music that he dropped, I talked about it here on the podcast on a previous episode.
Starting point is 00:12:31 And I said, like, you know, I don't want to hear Drake address all of the beef and, you know, all those things. I think there's so much more he can talk about it. It was when he dropped, what did I miss? And I was like, there's so much more that Drake could talk about and have a conversation about. And I was very honest in my opinion. And I still feel that way. I do think that there are certain things that we do want to hear him address. Like, I want to hear him talk about why he decided to file a lawsuit, knowing, you know, the things that we know the record label feels about the lawsuit.
Starting point is 00:13:08 And, you know, just like everybody stands on it. I want to know why. Like, there are some things I do think I want to hear him address. But there are some things where I'm like, listen, you can't, like, we just got to move on. Because even if, right, like, even if you're saying you're not a sore loser, even if you're saying you didn't cry, this didn't phase you, the music that happened since then doesn't feel like that. And speaking of music, you know, there were these snippets that were released online and I'll play them for you just for context so you guys can hear. So let's take a listen to this one where Drake, you know, is dissing, but we can't really fully hear it. Drake is somewhat from what it seems like this and Serena Williams would also taking a little shot at
Starting point is 00:13:50 Kendrick Lamarcki. I'm cool with Venus. I be hanging around these niggas like I'm doing leaper. I might hit a fucking schoolboy and do a remix. And then there's a second track that dropped as well. I mean, it didn't drop, but that was leaked, a snippet of it as well. And this was a three-part thing, but the third song was actually old. Fans believe that this is real and this is something that could really be on Iceman, because the same way that this music was released was the same way that a few songs
Starting point is 00:14:15 for that a few songs from some sexy songs for you were also released as well prior to were leaked prior to but I have no official confirmation on if these songs will actually be on Drake's new ice man project that is supposed to be released soon but here's the thing um strong may made a comment today on the breakfast club that has the people in a frenzy like if we know nothing else we know that people right now since these snippets are having a conversation about whether drake and future have put aside all their differences right and we have a timeline of their beef put aside all their differences because kendrick lamar and everything that started the not like us conversation
Starting point is 00:15:03 happened on future's album and future and drake are we don't trust you right and future and are very well-known collaborators. And Kendrick Lamar comes on the record and says, there's no big three. It's just big me, right? So from everything that we know, you know, we even had young thugs, we're trying to get Future and Drake back together with a Metro Boomer who produced the record, right? From everything we know, that camp has not been the same since. I do know that a few months back, Elliot Wilson said on his show that does with DJ head,
Starting point is 00:15:46 that he had heard that Future and Drake had had a conversation and squashed the beef and it moved on. But people were saying that Elliot Wilson was crazy. But Charlemagne said that he had heard this song, or I'm sorry, Charlemagne said that he had talked to someone who had heard Iceman, and that Future and Drake were on the project together. Now, I'm going to go in and dig a bit more following this episode, because I think timeline matters. And in the moment when Charlemagne said this,
Starting point is 00:16:20 we did not get a gist of the timeline, but timeline does matter, right? Because if this is a very old project or a very old feature that Drake and Future did, it's a little different than saying they buried the hatch and they've recorded new music. But at the same time, does it really matter though? Because even if it's old music,
Starting point is 00:16:39 the fact that Drake would even put that on a project, as sensitive as it seemed like, has been throughout this whole Kendrick Lamar thing and, you know, he got so upset at LeBron for being at the pop out and dancing at the pop out that he removed LeBron's tattoo and he threw shots at LeBron and what did I miss? You know what I mean? Like after all of that, if Drake ain't fooling with you, he ain't fooling with you. If Future, look, Future said, if Young Metro don't trust you, I'm going to shoot you. It's very much like that on both sides. So the fact that future is even on this project, allegedly, even if an old verse, I don't think.
Starting point is 00:17:15 think Drake would do that if there wasn't some sort of hatchberry conversation head. IHeart Radio is throwing it back. To the days of huge hits and unforgettable items. A nonstop stream of the biggest and best. Drake, Rihanna, Beyonce, Katie Gaga, the weekend. And more. All your decade defining favorites all in one place. Hi, it's Katie Perry.

Starting point is 00:18:22 I'm Clayton Eckerd, and in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first Bachelor to ever have his final rose rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show made even bigger headlines. It began as a one-night stand and ended in a courtroom with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here.
Starting point is 00:18:53 This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. Please search for it. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. This is love trapped. This season, an epic battle of He Said She Said, and the search for accountability in a sea of lies.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Listen to Love Trapped on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You know Roald Dahl, the writer who thought up Willie Wonka, Matilda, and the BFG. But did you know he was also a spy? Was this before he wrote his stories? It must have been. Our new podcast series, The Secret World of Roll Dahl, is a wild journey through the hidden chapters of his extraordinary, controversial life. His job was literally to seduce the wives of powerful Americans. What?
Starting point is 00:19:50 And he was really good at it. You probably won't believe it either. Okay, I don't think that's true. I'm telling you, the guy was a spy. Did you know Dahl got cozy with the Roosevelt's? Played poker with Harry Truman and had a long affair with a congresswoman. And then he took his talents to Hollywood, where he worked alongside Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock
Starting point is 00:20:09 before writing a hit James Bond film. How did this secret agent wind up as the most successful children's author ever? And what darkness from his covert past seeped into the stories we read as kids. The true story is strange. than anything he ever wrote. Listen to the secret world of Roll Dahl on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:20:27 or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Chetty, host of the On Purpose podcast. My latest episode is with Hillary Duff, singer, actress, and multi-platinum artist. Hillary opens up about complicated family dynamics, motherhood, and releasing our first record in over 10 years. We talk about what it's taken to grow up in the entertainment industry
Starting point is 00:20:47 and stay grounded through every chapter. It's a raw and honest conversation about identity, evolution, and building a life that truly matters. You desire in family like this picture, and that's not reality a lot of the time it's for people. My sister and I don't speak. It's definitely a very painful part of my life, and I hope it's not forever, but it's for right now. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Chetty on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Now let's take you through a real quick timeline of Drake and futures.
Starting point is 00:21:25 Because it's like their relationship has always been like they're collaborators. They're supposed to be brothers. They make a hell of good music together. Right. Some of the timeless music together. Right. But from a fan's perspective, right? I'm a fan of the music that they make together.
Starting point is 00:21:43 And I also follow the timeline of their relationship. And from everything I know, there's always been this weird subliminal. competition or jealousy or something between the two of them that has always made it where we always can inquire or infer that there are subliminally throwing shots at each other, right? So back in 2011, Future, you know, was making his way as an artist and he was debuting, like, his first big song. He had had, you know, some success before that, but this was like, this was the one. was commercial. He was betting it all on Tony Montana. He did the song. Drake was featured on the song. And then Drake did not show up to do the video. And Future talked at that time to the source
Starting point is 00:22:36 about how it was a slap in a face. Let's take a listen. And then separately in another interview, future talk. And I look, and I didn't have to look far to compile all these receipts. Like people just put this together because it's always been a known thing of us trying to figure out are they beat me or do they are they bros that they love each other like that has always been a thing so following that Drake did start it from the bottom which we know classic um period right future talked about in another interview when he was doing if you make it from the bottom you're the chosen one right that song and Drake was in the studio and he in future says that started from the bottom was in inspired by the making of his song.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Let's take a listen. Started from the bottom would have been a track that you would have liked to have been on. Yeah, because when I was in the studio, when we was making the record, when he made the record, he was in the studio session with me. That's when I had the chosen one. And I'm like, when you make it from the bottom,
Starting point is 00:23:37 you're the chosen one. So when we was at the studio, Drake came by the studio, and I always tell my engineer, started from the bottom. So when I put the beats on, I was like, man, put the beats in. So I always said, started from the bottom. So when I say, started from the bottom. he thought I was talking about the song. So when I played Chosen one, he loved the Chosen One,
Starting point is 00:23:53 but he was waiting for me in this, and Chosen One to say started from the bottom. So he said instantly, he telling me this story. He bought me in Bada, Louis 13th, that I never opened up. Wow. Because of this story, and I'm like, man, I won't buy it need publishing. You know what I'm saying? But Drake, that's the homie.
Starting point is 00:24:10 And he was like, man, started from the bottom. It stayed on my mind. I instantly got in the video, I got in with the drive and told him, put the city in. I already had the beat, and I just started saying, started from the bottom now we're here. Crazy.
Starting point is 00:24:23 I was like, man, why you didn't tell me in the story? And I can understand future one publishing. I'm not even going to hold you. It's like even if I didn't write, even if my voice isn't on it, the concept, that came from me. I mean, I don't know. Maybe not enough.
Starting point is 00:24:37 I was going to say maybe not enough for publishing, but I do think that's like having a reference track and acting like the reference track never happened. Like where things are something. a certain way or like what even if it inspired inspires another song like you know where that came from and you guys heard future be like well why ain't getting up publishing i ain't why you ain't just say that then and then there was the whole thing in 2010 where future was supposed to go on tour with drake and he had made some comments to billboard now the crazy thing is is when you go look up this
Starting point is 00:25:13 billboard article these comments are not in the article but future had a had you know made these alleged comments to Billboard about Drake. And basically he was talking about how Drake's music just didn't move you. Like Drake puts out music, but it just doesn't move you like a future record, right? Those were the alleged comments. And there were a few other things. Now, the journalist, her name is Erica Ramirez.
Starting point is 00:25:38 She was working for Billboard at the time. She did the story. She also tweeted the comments, like tweeted the quotes, in order to push the story and then Futures managers reached out and they allegedly and they were freaking out
Starting point is 00:25:56 and wanted their quotes removed so everything was removed from that Billboard article and during this time Future was still promoting his album honest and nothing Drake had nothing was the same that was out
Starting point is 00:26:06 so what he had the original quotes that allegedly were in in the article but were still left on Twitter because the journalist she never removed them from her Twitter. The comments were Drake made an album that is full of hits, but it doesn't grab you. And he was comparing nothing was the same to honest, right? So then Future allegedly went on to
Starting point is 00:26:27 say, they're not possessive. They don't make you feel the way I do. I want you to fall in love. Now, again, these quotes were later be removed from that Billboard article at the request, allegedly a futures manager who said that Future was misquoted, like he was taken out of context. Future went on X himself. At that time it was called Twitter. But Future went on X himself. And he posted, respect to Billboard, disappointed on being misquoted. Always love for my fan, Jersey Drake.
Starting point is 00:26:57 But the tour with them never happened. Now, moving forward, it's so crazy. There's always been like, that's what I'm saying. There's always been like this back and forth with them. I remember Nurega came on the Breakfast Club in 2023. And I remember this clip. because I remember he was so vague about how he knew the information, but he was so specific about what he knew, that people believed him.
Starting point is 00:27:22 So fast forward, 2023, Noriega comes on the breakfast club, and he says that Drake and Future were beefing because, well, in the midst of all this, there's always been conversation about things being about a girl. And I know even with everybody turning our back on Drake recently, there's been conversation about Drake and different girls that he's dealt with and or lack there of and who they belong to first and that whole thing and there was some issue
Starting point is 00:27:50 that people alleged was happening between Future and Drake about a woman Metro Boomin I remember he had to come out on X and be like y'all don't even know what y'all talking about me and just enjoy the music ain't no shots being done to nobody but norie came on the breakfast club and he said that he had heard that Drake and Future had an issue because Drake did a joint project with 217 called her loss. And the reason why Future was upset was because Future and Drake, I mean, they're just
Starting point is 00:28:15 known to be like historical collaborators. Like when they make music together, baby, like, it's just, it's just a good time. But her loss with 21 Savage and Drake was also just like, it was fire. Like, I still listen to that to this day and the music is good. So Norie came on Breakfast Club and was basically saying that Future was upset about Drake because of this joint project because it basically took the shine away from
Starting point is 00:28:45 a joint mixtape that Future and Drake had the what a time to be allowed. Let's take a listen to Nory. Oh, that's what I heard. I heard that's a big rumor that Future is not too happy this Drake and 21 Savage album and... Because Future and Drake
Starting point is 00:29:02 did an album before. And it makes Drake and Future album not as important, I would say. That's me feels. And that's... I mean, this is This is allegedly this is all rumors. I've never heard it from Future's mouth, never heard it from Drake, never heard it from 21,
Starting point is 00:29:15 but it's an alleged big rumor that's going on right now. Where'd you hear that at, in the streets, in the streets with a K. In Miami, in Florida. In Miami, yes, I'm on Miami in. Yes, I'm on Miami in. So you heard that Future is upset with Drake
Starting point is 00:29:30 because Drake did the album with 21 Savage because it makes their project seem less important. I would think so. You know what I mean? Starting point is 00:29:56 think that Drake has thrown at future like I know like on her loss people thought when he was talking about like what would Pluto do people thought he was being like a little sarcastic and being little funny and not really bigging his friend up and being like, okay, I really think. And then, of course, the biggest thing of them all that shattered everything was Kendrick Lamar dissing Drake on like that, which was on future. project. We don't trust you. Starting point is 00:31:03 And knowing that the people already think we don't fool with each other, I'm not mad. a jerk for having an issue about that. I don't know, y'all. I might, listen, I was looking forward to Iceman anyway, but I definitely am looking forward to it now.
