I am feeling all the way or almost through. It's only Tuesday, but the week is also a great start. I think last week I was battling for my life as far asleep. But this week, I'm feeling a lot more rejuvenated and energized. This week, my grandmother has a small procedure that she'll be doing. So we'll be heading down to just be there with her while that happens. And so I've been making sure that I'm like getting a lot of. lot done work-wise but also like personal life-wise so that that day and potentially the day

after outside of work I can kind of dedicate the time to just be there with her, calm her nerves a bit. I think it's like the, it's the most beautiful thing to watch someone be able to get older because it's such a blessing to be able to get older. But it's also like such a weird feeling as well too. And when I say I'm feeling, almost through the week, I mean, like, a lot of times dealing with my mom and my grandmother, and y'all let me know if y'all experienced this too, anybody dealing with older family members, older mom, older dad, you know, whoever, it's weird. It's like the roles reverse. Like, I always feel like I'm a mom balancing kids during a school week.

Even when I'm all over in Jersey and they're in a different state. Now, I will say being in Jersey with them in a different state. state does make things a bit easier because when I need to like lock in work, focus, I can literally just answer the phone real quick, make sure everybody good, you know, be like, hey, I'm going to call you back. I got to work. I don't got to worry about trying to find a room or quiet place or, you know, anything. But when I'm like home, oh, baby, they don't care.

Nothing about what I be talking about. And I'd be like, I wonder if this is what it's like with people who have kids that are just trying to like balance real life and like living their own life as people but also like as parents. So that's always like a very weird feeling. It's like love watching her be able to get older and just enjoy, you know, her life. Like I want my, like my main thing with my grandmother right now is just like relax, please like just enjoy. So I try to do things like if she wants to play cards, hey, let's have a card party. If she wants to travel somewhere, yo let's do it like i think these days of her life should just be all about enjoyment but it's rough

because you know she's getting older she worries about a lot more so like this procedure coming up she's a little worried about it and i'm telling her like you know there's nothing to worry about it's a small procedure not really invasive um i plan to get on the phone with the doctors on my way down the day prior to just to talk back over some things ask some more questions because i know she's going to have them for me and then you know as soon as i get off work that morning I will be there with her as well. Family will be there. Just everything to make her more comfortable.

But I think as you get older and age, small things worry you because you're older and age. And I think, you know, you are coming face to face with like your immortality and the fact that like life doesn't last forever. And I think older people have such a different spirit and mentality about the fact that life doesn't last forever. There are times where she talks about death so easily and it scares me. I literally will tell her like, let's not talk about that because I don't want to wheel anything into fruition. But, you know, I think as you get older, you know, your spiritual journey is like fully locked in. You know God, you know, God got you. You, you know, you just think about it differently. And that becomes the weird part because it's like as happy as I am to have her in all the wisdom

and the age and all the years I know she has to come. And, you know, I'm like thinking about the fact that like once I have a grandkid because she already has my niece, my niece is like 11, 12 years old. So once I have a grandkid and they're like young, my grandmother is going to be dang near like 90 years old. But I mean, she don't act 90. Y'all. She's still going to play in space and doing all the things. But I always think about, you know, just how different things are for her now than they were when I was like 14, 15 years old. Like, you know, the good, the bad, the ugly. Like she talks to me a lot about being lonely and feeling lonely and, you know, she's lost a lot of friends because, you know, they get older and they're not here forever. But she also talks to me about like just loving her life and like the life that she's been able to live.

It's just a weird place to be in when you have to balance. Like you're in the middle of the two and have to like, like, you have to love and enjoy the time that you have with the people on this earth right now while also understanding that like this thing don't last forever. And as you get old enough to realize that that is a real fact, because when you're a kid, you think that your grandparents and your parents are like superheroes and they're going last forever. When you get older and you start dealing with your own immortality and the fact that everybody got to go someday, no matter the age, you start to think about those things and what that looks like.

So it's just a weird place to be in. But nonetheless, I'm getting through the week. And I'll keep you guys posted on how grandma does in her procedure. I feel like, you know, the podcast has become a secondary vlog for me. I take you guys through everything, not just the latest in pop culture, but the latest in life and journey here with me on the latest along the rose as well. So send some prayers up for her. which we then took over to the Breakfast Club about did. and the fact that Diddy was placed in solitary confinement. So, and again, a lot of this conversation is still up for debate about, you know, what happened, why it happened, how long he'll be in solitary confinement for. Diddy's team has yet to be able to zero in on some details that they are feeling comfortable to release. I've actually been reaching out to them for the past 48 hours kind of, you know, around the clock because I was told that, you know, details were close. Like they were close on getting some more details.

But the story that we broke for those of you guys who don't remember, or the story that we broke some exclusive details around, was featured on Entertainment Tonight. Shout out to Entertainment Tonight for using us in their package. Let's take a look. A star in legal trouble? Apple. Diddy, who was reportedly thrown into solitary confinement

after allegedly choking a fellow inmate out, now his early release could be in jeopardy just after 19-year-old twins, Jesse and Delilah, broke their silence about, his life behind bars. Is his spirit still up? Is he, is he, he's been very focused, you know, like being a better person for his family. The Breakfast Club's Lauren Larosa was tipped off about the alleged altercation, which she

says occurred yesterday at around 4 p.m. Literally the phone call was, hey, Diddy choke the man out. He was placed in solitary confinement, and he'll be there for at least 30 days, is what I was told. I said, why? They said, you know, sometimes people think that they can play with him. Diddy's rep tells E.T. they have no information about the alleged assault. If prison officials determine he violated their rules,

Did he could lose good behavior credits, potentially pushing back his scheduled release date of February 23, 2028. That release is contingent upon good behavior in custody because you don't want the appellate judges having concerns about his ability to safely reintegrate. Jesse and Delilah just launched their clothing line and told me, they want to forge their own path away from all of the negativity, surrounding their dad. His press is his own press. Our press is our own press. It's honestly just made us push and work harder. So that was me talking about the story on the breakfast club. And that was

Michelle Turner, who is one of the lead anchors. Her and Kevin Frazier are like the lead anchors over there at entertainment tonight. So shout out to them for utilizing us in the package. It just, it always feels good to know that you're making progress and you're breaking the bubble because for me in media causing conversations that shake the room is literally the tagline of my production company, which is brown girl grinding. And when I first started out to do so, I think it was a lot easier to claim and to do when you're under the umbrella of someone else's name and brand. Now that you, it's like when things is wrong on the breakfast club in my segment, it's about

what Lauren got wrong on the breakfast club. It's a bit different when, you know, your leading conversation for real. I enjoy the responsibility. And honestly, I think it's more about the challenge that I enjoy. Although sometimes, like, I'm in my head about, all right, did this go well? Did this not? You know, even with this story, I'm going to be honest with y'all. I was like, let me not report it because I want to hear more back from his attorneys first.

And then I was like, no, let me just go. And I got a tip that TMZ was also. working on the story as well. So I was like, we just got to go. We got to go with this and we got to go now. And we did. And shout out to the guys. Like, Charlemagne, and be like, I'll go to them and be like, y'all, here's what I got.

I don't have everything. What do y'all think? And they'll be very honest with me. Like, yo, just tell the story that you have. Just, you know. And yeah. So shout out to them because that kind of helps me feel like, okay, in my mind, I need to complete it and I need to have every question answered.

For those of you guys who are not familiar with this case, Nolan Wells is the young

black boy who was out boating and enjoying a boat trip weekend, a 4th of July weekend with his friends, majority white friends, and all his friends in the boats came back and he did not. They were, he was missing for two days and then his body washed up in the water and he was pronounced dead. Now, police in their earth. early investigations and, you know, they maintained that there was no foul play. You know, there still has not been an autopsy released from, you know, officials down there Mississippi. Ben Crump and Nolan Wells family did their own independent autopsy.

And here are, you know, the results that they talked about recently. Let's take a listen. Dr. Roger Mitchell said that the focal area of red discoloration in the soft tissue, soft tissue of the back of the head, the obstitator region is significant because he cannot determine why you have that red discoloration in the back of his brain. That's significant. He also talked about, Mr. Williams, if you could, just the fact that as it's common practice, he was missing his, his throat when they received the body. And he wants to know why they held it back.

He's not drawing any conclusions, but he said he would want to examine it if there were neck fractures or compressions to the neck. And he thinks that's significant to know an autopsy. The reason he said he would hold it back when he was medical examiner because he thought that there may have been some issues with neck fractures. The last thing that is significant is what we said before about him, the condition of his body when he went into the water. Was he conscious or unconscious?

Was he forced or unforced into the water? He said those things are very significant. But he started off talking about this red discolouration. in the back of his head is something that was a great concern. Now, some new update to hear, there is an audio from an emergency dispatch call. So one of Nolan Wells' friends who was on a boat that Nolan should have returned back on, their boat began to, like, sink. One of the pumps wasn't working on the boat.

So the person, like one of the friends who was like in charge of getting the boat back to where they came from, reached out through an emergency line to get help to have someone come over to help the boat as the pump wasn't working and the things were sinking. Now, the audio you guys are about to listen to, what people that listen to this are calling out, I want you guys to listen very closely to, is in this audio, people are pointing out the fact that you can hear someone in the background. And it's not as clear, but we're going to take out a lot of the noise and isolate the voices on the second listen, not on the first listen.

because what people believe that they're hearing is someone in the background say is he dead then someone else say oh my god then someone else say nolan now let's take a listen to this audio from this emergency call about the boat sinking now this is not isolated so this is the call you know it's going to include everything not isolated and i apologize and trigger warning uh for anybody who you know will continue to listen to this um you don't hear screams or anything like that but the words that I just said people do think that they hear so just want to give you guys that sounds like okay all right

okay so far for that I'm sorry for that okay oh my god No, we do not. No, let's do not need that. Now, let's take a listen to the same audio, but let's isolate the voices a bit so you can hear a bit.

Hey, we're at the West tip of Horn and our village pump, stopped working, we're going, we're sinking. Can y'all please come? We have a membership. Stop, you know, let the fuck up. Damn it, Lord. Now, there have been questions raised in this case

from the very beginning because you got a young black boy with all of his white friends, goes missing, body comes to shore, they're saying no foul play, but autopsy reports potentially could point to other things. You know,

there's been discrepancy about whether he was fully clothed and or not fully clothed when his body was found. I saw a report today following this audio that there are sources close to the investigation that are claiming that authorities have evidence that Nolan was on Mississippi Barrier Island after the boat departed on the 4th of July. Now this would be a huge update because people have been trying to figure out, number one, just the timeline of like where he was, what time he was there, there was a friend. that was talking about, you know, the last time somebody would have spoke to him,

would have been around like 6 o'clock. But also, you know, people are trying to figure out whether that places him on this boat or not. Like, there's a lot of unanswered questions here. And there's a family, you know, without their baby. So people are trying to figure out what is going on. Of course, race comes into play. I think that it is insane for anyone to say that race does not come into play here.

I saw shout out to Ms. Rachel, the kids content creator. She be going in, okay? and I hate to because there's so many other people that do as well like there are so many other people that have been champion championing for Nolan wells for justice to be served I told you guys been crumpers on the case like I've seen so many people um that are speaking out and fighting about this and pointing to him as Rachel though because she as a white person because there's a lot of non-black people who are like why is race coming into play with this and it's like uh hello um yeah like let's not let's not ignore the fact that like there's always concerns when

a young black child is injured or missing amongst all white people like even if like you have to prove to me that that is not a factor through hard evidence before i will just take it off the table voluntarily let's put it like that because people are like well there's nothing here that points to this being about race and you know argue all of that with whoever wants to hear it because for me you got to prove to me that that ain't a thing because what i am naturally inclined to know and think feel and believe is that race always plays a factor when you're a black person in the world um but anyway miss rachel i saw her getting out of pushback because she was talking about how this would have been the case would be handled a lot differently if this was a

white teen who went missing and then turned up, you know, dead. And it was all black friends. And, you know, y'all know how to go. But yeah, so this audio has sparked a lot of conversation. And to me, honestly, I think it's caused a lot more confusion as well. A lot more confusion. I just feel so bad for Nolan's parents and Nolan's family. Like I saw, too, his mom was getting, like, reviews on, like, her jobs page of

people saying that like just throwing nasty things her way and giving her bad ratings. And you can obviously tell that these are people upset that race has come into the conversation. And she don't deserve that. Like regardless of what you feel, believe happened or did not happen, that woman, her, his, like, that family is without their child, their nephew, their brother. Like somebody's life was lost here. people have no like there should always be a line that is drawn regardless of how you feel about how things happen when someone's life is taken like if you don't have nothing nice to say don't say

it at all okay one of the first lessons we learn as children but you know as this case progresses because it will we are still waiting for the you know for mississippi to release their um autopsy reports autopsies can take around six to eight weeks um typically uh But I was listening to talk radio this morning heading into work as I do every morning before our show hits air. And I heard them, I heard, you know, and I think Mimi Brown played this too in her coverage on the Breakfast Club as well. I heard, you know, one of the officials from down in Mississippi saying that like they're not going to release. So even after the eight weeks is up, which I think would have been around this week, that's not going to, it's immediately released to the public. which normally can happen.

But they're going to, because there's been a grand jury that's been convened, it'll go to the grand jury within that investigation first. But here's what I see online. So I'm reading the Clarolin Ledger. And they have a section in here on some reporting on Nolan Wells, why the Nolan Wells case is headed to a grand jury. So they talk about a meeting that was held, and they say in the meeting that the district attorney shared information on Nolan Wells

to his family and victim, services resources explained that the case will go to a grand jury. Now they say, according to this report, that that is standard for many kinds of death in Jackson County. That is not an indication that the crime is suspected. So here's a direct quote. Every death in the county, except those of natural causes and non-criminal car wrecks are presented to your grand jury. Many people don't know that. We have handled death investigations in this manner, my entire career. This is a representative from the county speaking. law enforcement agencies have worked around the clock since Wells was reported missing on July 4th and I told you guys his body was found two days after on July 6th. And then they go into understanding, you know, the DA says, you know, that they understand the public's urgency for clarity, but they're taking the time required to complete the work that is necessary for the investigation. So there will be more here from, you know, once they get through with their grand jury investigation. And hey, look, I know that they're saying a grand jury normally takes place because that's how all cases in Mississippi or within this area are handled. But I'm not mad at the extra step being taken. I do want the family to have a bit more transparency and clarity.

But I'm not mad at the extra step. I just hope that, you know, in these extra steps, It's a neutral, thoroughly done investigation and nothing blacked up.
