Hey, I'm Cal Penn, and on my new podcast, here we go again, we'll take today's trends and
headlines and ask, why does history keep repeating itself?
Each week, I'm calling up my friends like Bill Nye, Lily Singh, and Pete Buttigieg to talk about
Everything from the space race to movie remakes to psychedelics.
Put another way, are you high?
Look, the world can seem pretty scary right now.
But my goal here is for you to listen and feel a little better about the future.

I'm a home guy that knows a little bit about everything and everybody.
You know if you're going to lie about that, right?
Lauren came in hot.
Hey, y'all, what's up?
It's Lauren the Rosa, and this is the latest with Lauren the Rosa.
This is your daily dig on all things, pop culture, entertainment news,
and all of the conversations that shake the room, baby.
Now, we've been on go this week, y'all.
We have been in L.A.
We have been all over.
But take you guys back outside again for the latest,
because lately people have been having a conversation about Clarissa Shields,
the female quote, one of the greatest fighters.
of our time right now announced yesterday on CBS mornings that she has signed an $8 million fight
contract with her former promotional group, Salita Promotions, because at her last fight,
she told us she was out of her contract. She was trying to figure things out. Well, she says
that she now has this $8 million contract, and she invited a bunch of press here in New York
to come and sit down with her, have a conversation about what that deal looks like and what her
future in boxing looks like. So I have some exclusive clips for you guys. I'm taking the latest
right on into the luncheon.
Now, let's talk to Clarissa a bit about what the deal structure looks like overall.
But I do have to ask.
She talked about exploring a bunch of different offers.
Was MVP on the table?
Did they offer you anything?
Yes.
Listen, I had talks and negotiations with MVP with Matchroom, who was with Eddie Hearn.
MVP was with Jake Paul and Nekisa Bauderian.
I had talks with Eddie Hearn, who's with Match Room.
I had talks with my promoter Salita, and then I had talks with Salita and win promotions together.
So it was, like I said, one, nobody had a terrible deal, if that makes sense.
Like, I think everybody came with it, and MVP definitely came with it.
I'm not going to say that they didn't, but.
What does that mean?
What was the number?
It wasn't $8 million.
How far was it?
How far was you mean?
How far away from $8 million was it?
Were we in the ballpark range?
Was it over $5 million?
As a minimum?
As a minimum or as a total?
You could either one of them.
I've mended my relationship with MVP so I don't want to throw nobody under the bus
I feel like everybody put their best foot forward and Toledo and Winn came with the best offer
and of course I had to ask her she's talking about four fights who are you going to fight
I feel like Layla Ali is out the window she's already told me you got her last episode when she
talked to me at the Ebony Power 100 and said the Layla thing isn't happening so girl
who are you about the fight let's take a listen it's some of people that I can think
because I can go up and down, up in the weight divisions.
Right now, I think my next fight will be up at heavyweight.
I think my next two will be at heavyweight, which is 175.
And like I said, I would have a fight with Michaela Mayer up at 160, 154.
And it's other girls to fight.
You know, we got French on Cruz, Shaday Shereen, Shadee, Kenealy,
Daniel Perkins.
That's in McKaylor Mary already?
Yeah, like, it's some good competition out there,
but I've already beat whoever they consider the best,
but now these girls are who they consider the best now.
So I guess I'll have to fight against them.
On the latest episode of Next Question with me, Katie Couric,
I sat down with Bernie Sanders, who is 84 years old,
has spent 34 years in Congress,
and he can still pack a rally with people a quarter of his age.
Denver, 34,000 people come out.
Salt Lake City, 20,000 people are, you know, huge turnouts.
People are really dissatisfied about the status quo.
His fighting oligarchy tour with AOC and other young progressives has become a movement,
but is his message too far to the left?
Well, he certainly doesn't think so.
Is that sound like a radical idea, Katie?
Is that too far left for you?
Okay, okay.
I get your point, Bernie.
We talk about the billionaire class, the cost of living, and of course the government shutdown,
not to mention the current state of the Democratic Party.
To me, the failure of the Democratic Party has been an unwillingness to recognize the realism.

On the podcast Health Stuff, we are tackling all the health questions that keep you up at night.
Yes, I'm Dr. Priyanka Wally, a double board certified physician.
And I'm Hurricane Dabolu, a comedian and someone who once Googled, do I have scurvy at 3 a.m.
On Health Stuff, we're talking about health.
in a different way.
It's not only about what we can do
to improve our health,
but also what our health says about us
and the way we're living.
Like our episode where we look at diabetes.
In the United States,
I mean, 50% of Americans are pre-diabetic.
How preventable is type 2?
Extremely.
Or our in-depth analysis
of how incredible mangoes are.
Oh, it's hard to explain
to the rest of the world
that your mangoes are fine
because mangoes are incredible, but, like, you don't even know.
You don't know.
You don't know.
It's going to be a fun ride.
So tune in.

What do you get when you mix 1950s Hollywood, a Cuban musician with a dream, and one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time?

wide open. I'm Wilmer Valderama, and yes, I grew up watching him, probably just like you
and millions of others. But for me, I saw myself in his story. From plening canary cages to this
night here in New York, it's a long ways. On the podcast starring Desi Arnaz and Wilmer
Valderrama, I'll take you in a journey to Desi's life. The moments it has overlapped with
mine, how he redefined American television, and what that meant for all of us watching
from the sidelines, waiting for a face like hours on screen. This is the story of how
one-man spotlight lit the path for so many others and how we carry his legacy today.

Here we go.
Hey, I'm Cal Penn.
And on my new podcast, Here We Go again, we'll take today's trends and headlines and ask,
why does history keep repeating itself?
You may know me as the second hottest actor from the Harold and Kumar movies, but I'm also an author, a White House staffer, and as of like 15 seconds ago, a podcast host.
Along the way, I've made some friends who are experts in science, politics, and pop culture.
And each week, one of them will be joining me to answer my burning questions.
Like, are we heading towards another financial crash like in 08?
Is non-monogamy back in style?
And how come there's never a gate ready for your flight when it lands like two minutes or
early. We've got guests like Pete Buttigieg, Stacey Abrams, Lily Singh, and Bill Nye.
When you start weaponizing outer space, things can potentially go really wrong.
Look, the world can seem pretty scary right now, because it is. But my goal here is for you
to listen and feel a little better about the future. Listen and subscribe to here we go again with

The Big Take podcast from Bloomberg News dives deep into one big global business story every weekday.
A shutdown means we don't get the data, but it also means for President Trump that there's no chance of bad news on the labor market.
What does a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich reveal about the economy?
Our breakfast foods are consistent consumer staples, and so they sort of become outsize indicators of inflation.
What's behind Elon Musk's trillion-dollar payout?
There's a sort of concerted effort to message that Musk is coming back.
He's putting politics aside.
He's left the White House.
And what can the PCE tell you that the CPI can't?
CPI tries to measure out-of-pocket costs that consumers are paying for things,
whereas the PCE index that the Fed targets is a little bit broader of a measure.

Now, one of the things that I thought was just like, you know,
a big conversation of the luncheon.
Clarissa talked a lot about the fact that a lot of people
were not trying to give her what she was worth.
She went through a lot of deal structures,
a lot of conversations, and Papoose was right by her side.
She says that if it were not for Papoose,
And the introduction that he made between her win records and bringing everybody together
and helping to figure out the structure of her business deal,
she wouldn't have been looking at this $8 million minimum that she's talking about.
Let's take a listen to her, talk about Papoose, and his role in all of this.
Like I said, it wouldn't even have been a conversation between me and when had Pap not been there.
You know, since I met Pap and we've been together over a year now,
he introduced me to win records, and I've been in some of the day sold-out freaking concerts,
and it's been like a movie and they were able to come to two of my fights and it's been a movie
and I think that um you know Ruben Branson who is the head of winning records
Papoose is the executive director so he's like you know he's the executive whatever y'all want to
call it but he's like he helps make sure that the record company run how it's supposed to run
he's very influential in getting the artists to the to perform at the at the concerts he negotiates
the contracts like his head big for reason because he's very smart
But when we seen what we did together, my last fight, because it was so many things that were falling apart at the last minute, you know, and it was like everything that fell apart, Papp was right there.
It was like, I'm just complaining like, oh, my God, I got to make this call.
I got to do this, I got to do that.
Because I'm my own, like, Salita's my promoter, but it's like I'm also a self promoter.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, hey, you ain't worry about me.
I'm promote myself.
And I just remember like, man, I don't even know who to call for this.
And I'm sitting there vending the Papp and he's like, I got it.
Don't worry about it.
And I'm like, what?
He's like, I got it.
Now, it was great to hear from Papu's because as this last, like, year has been happening for them.
Y'all know it was a fallout with Rami Ma, who Papuos legally is still married to, but they're no longer together.
He is in a relationship with Clarissa Shields.
And during that fallout, we found out that they, Clarissa Shields and Papuose were even involved with one another.
But there has been various narratives around the relationship, you know, the fact that, you know, financially, what is his role?
What does he do?
What does he not do?
A lot of that came from the back and forth with Reniope.
Remy Ma, where Remy, you know, made allegations that financially Pappoos is living off of
Clarissa Shields.
Now, in this press conference, Pappoos spoke up about a lot of different things.
So he talked about Clarissa Shields being a love of his life and just the impact that this
deal and that her career has on fighting.
Let's take a listen.
Carissa is the love of my life.
So I already know once I bring these two together, it's amazing.
And I was able to introduce them to each other and we just kept working.
Over the years, she became, and she found us up in a position when she was a free agent,
and there was a no-brainer, because I already know she's in great hands with my family over here,
and I've seen the history that she made with Dimitri.
So bringing all these people together, I'm just blessed and happy that I was able to do that.
She deserved every dime, and here we are.
So once again, congratulations to the Queen.
I love you.
I love you, I love you, he's smart.
But then, of course, we got a one-on-one sit-down with Papoose,
and he talked to me about a ton of things,
including the narrative around his relationship.
Let's take listen to Pat.
It disappoints me that
Kat Williams had did a stand-up one time.
And out of nowhere, I never met Kat Williams.
And he said, when he was doing his stand-up, he said,
yo, why y'all don't fuck with Pat Poops?
Like, he ain't never do nothing but gee shit.
He never did nothing but real shit.
And me and him never even met.
So I just bring that up to say that
what I've done being in this game for so long,
never selling my soul, never back dorm,
never doing no sideways. I'm disappointed that some of y'all would actually believe some of that
foolishness. Very disappointed. So it doesn't upset me, but for those who know me,
cool, the newcomers, the casuals who don't know no better, I get it. But those of y'all who know me,
it's very disappointing that you would even jack some of that because it makes no sense at all.
Now, if you guys have not taken anything else from this conversation, baby, Clarissa Shields is rich as hell.
So it doesn't matter, in my opinion, who's given.
what who's doing what she's also she seems very happy and very content in her relationship
as well you know as far as we can see and one of the things i walked away with learning yesterday
is you got to stand up for what you want and who you want because if you don't you walk away
with nothing i'm la rosa this has been the latest with la rosa and i appreciate you guys every
single episode my lowriders i tell you guys every episode y'all could be anywhere with anybody else
talking about all these things which y'all choose to be right here with me if you guys
enjoyed these exclusive conversations and want to hear more of them, let me know.
I'm Lauren LaRosa Everywhere, L-O-R-E-N, L-O-R-O-S-A, where Brown Girl grinding.
Always, I'll see you guys in my next episode.
