Starting point is 00:02:45 The show you love to hate. From the East to the West Coast. DJ Envy. Angela Yee. Charlamagne Tha God. The realest show on the planet. This is why I respect this show, because this is a voice to society. Change in the game.
Starting point is 00:02:56 You guys are the coveted morning show, which I earned it. Impact in the culture. They wake up in the morning and they want to hear that Breakfast Club. The world's most dangerous morning show We in the mother We in the Good morning, USA! It is Thursday! Uh-oh. Happy Thursday. Thursdays are always exciting.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Yeah, Thursdays are exciting because the weekend is tomorrow. And a black superhero film comes out tomorrow. And that is the biopic of Tupac Shakur. I cannot wait to go see Tupac's movie this weekend. I was just saying, I don't feel like the energy is the same as it was for like straight out of Compton. Hey, guys. Oh, well, hello, Envy. I pushed the snooze button, and then the next thing I knew,
Starting point is 00:04:07 they were like, E, we're going up now. I'm like, fudge. I said he's here. But yeah, I understand that because there's been a lot of controversy behind this movie, and, you know, John Singleton was not happy about it and talked about it a lot, but... I don't even think it's the John Singleton thing. I just, I mean, I can't personally wait to go see it this weekend.
Starting point is 00:04:25 I just feel like when Straight Outta Compton was coming out, it was a thing. You know what I mean? Like a huge movement. I think part of it is also that Ice Cube was able to push that movie and his involvement and his son is in it. A lot of people that were alive talked about it because they're in the movie. They're represented in the movie. And I think it had more money behind it. Straight Outta Compton had a lot of people that were alive talked about it because they're in the movie. That's true, too. They're represented in the movie. And I think it had more money behind it. Straight Outta Compton had a lot of money.
Starting point is 00:04:48 It seems like it was everywhere. All Eyes On Me does as well, but not like Straight Outta Compton. Yeah, it's not the same energy. But that don't mean that it can't still perform well at the box office. Listen, I already bought my tickets and I had to wait to go for Sunday because it was sold out. But Meno's doing a special screening on Friday tomorrow. He bought out the theater. Maino's in the movie.
Starting point is 00:05:08 He's in the movie. Drop one of Clues bombs for Maino, damn it. He's in the All Eyes on Me film. And I'm sure other people, too, in other cities are going to buy out the theater, just like they did for Straight Outta Compton. Right. Right. I look forward to seeing it.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Can't wait to see it this weekend. Do you take your kids to see it is the question. No, not yet. Even if they like it? You let your kids watch Peyton Full and all that stuff, but you don't let to see it this weekend. Do you take your kids to see it is the question. Not yet. Even if they like to, you let your kids watch Paid in Full and all that stuff but you don't let them see the Tupac movie?
Starting point is 00:05:30 Maybe you need to see it first. That's what I said, I gotta see it first. See Paid in Full, I was able to explain it was a real story where it came from. So it was Tupac,
Starting point is 00:05:36 he was a real person. Listen, I can explain it because I've seen it beforehand so I know what to expect. I've seen if there was a sex scene, I could like close your eyes. Now Tupac movie, I can't say, I don't know what to expect. If there was a sex scene, I could close your eyes. In a Tupac movie, I can't say
Starting point is 00:05:45 I don't know what to expect yet. They edited all that stuff out. It's not the John Singleton version. He's not getting raped in jail. You lived the story of Pac, Andy. You should be able to tell your kids about the story of Pac. I don't know what's in that movie. You lived it.
Starting point is 00:06:00 If he wants to see the movie before he lets his kids see it, that's a responsible thing to do. Yeah, I did live it, but I don't know what they put in that movie. That's why F-Jub, you fat mother. I'm sure they've heard that in the house. You're a DJ. No, they haven't heard that at all. You never played that in none of the kids' parties?
Starting point is 00:06:17 No, I didn't play that at all. All right, well, let's get the show cracking. Freddie Gibbs will be joining us this morning. Now, Freddie Gibbs is a rapper from Indiana. He used to be signed to Jeezy. He was touring overseas and got into a little trouble and was locked up for a while and needed help. And he finally got out and he's home. So we're going to kick it with him this morning.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Right. Also, Vanessa from XXL. They put out the new cover. Yes, Vanessa Stanton. She's the editor-in-chief of XXL Magazine. And they put out the freshman cover. So we're going to, she's the editor-in-chief of XXL Magazine, and they put out the freshman cover. So we're going to discuss with her who made it. Okay, all right, we'll get into all of that.
Starting point is 00:06:50 A busy day. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front-page news. Well, it's official.
Starting point is 00:06:59 It looks like the Mayweather fight will happen, all right? Mayweather-McGregor. Fought on that fight. Saturday, don't you dare. That's trash. Saturday, August 26th in Vegas. What'sather and McGregor. Fought on that fight. Don't you dare. Saturday August 26th in Vegas. What's trash about it? It's a trash-ass fight.
Starting point is 00:07:11 If you're a boxing fan like I am, if you're a person that really loves boxing, it's disrespectful to the sport. What has Conor McGregor done to get a chance to fight Floyd Money Mayweather? All of these great young fighters in boxing, and you're putting over this guy for what? It's the payday. Man, it's like the Russian fighting Apollo in Rocky IV. This is his last fight. It's like when Hulk Hogan fought Rocky. His 40th fight, his 40th win.
Starting point is 00:07:32 That's whack. And it's not his 40th win, it's his 50th. Sorry, his 50th win. He's probably going to pull in close to $200 million off this fight. I'm excited about both these boxers making a huge payday. And you both know he's boxing.
Starting point is 00:07:46 He's not even a boxer. And you know in boxing, anything can happen at any time. He's boxing in this fight. By the way, let's be real about this. Right or wrong? First of all, no, you know what? Right or wrong? It's not boxing.
Starting point is 00:07:54 What you need to think about is you need to think about the fact that Conor McGregor is an actual UFC fighter, MMA fighter. If I'm Floyd Mayweather, I'm making him sign a contract that says if you do anything other than punch me, you don't get none of your money. Because out of straight muscle memory, if I'm Floyd Mayweather, I might hit this guy and he might freaking kick me in my head. I'm sure it's absolutely positive. Y'all want to watch a good fight? September 16th, Triple G versus Canelo Alvarez. That's a great, no, that's an amazing boxing match. But I'm going to watch this fight as well.
Starting point is 00:08:21 August 26th is going to be great. This is combined in both worlds. I think it's going to be a good fight. That's garbage. And you both know in boxing, anything can happen. If McGregor gets a punch on Mayweather, he can knock his ass out. No. That can happen.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Absolutely possible. The fact that you even said that lets me know you don't watch boxing. It could happen. Kyle McGregor's not going to touch Floyd Mayweather. It could happen. Unless Floyd Mayweather has lost two or three steps. He hasn't fought or trained in over a year and a half. You don't think he's been training?
Starting point is 00:08:44 He hasn't. He just started training about a month ago. You believe that if you want to. You're not going to start training a month ago to fight. He just started training over a month ago, bro. Floyd's going to make Conor McGregor look stupid. It's going to be a waste of time. A great payday for everybody.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Nah, you never know. He hasn't fought in over a year and a half. He hasn't been trained. He just started training a month ago. So you're not going to watch the fight? If somebody else pays for it, I'm not paying for it. I think it's going to be a good fight. Now let's talk about this gunman open fire.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Which one? There's a couple of different situations. Let's start the baseball game. Alright, well, officials have identified who that gunman was at the baseball game. It was James T. Hodgkinson. He was the shooter at a Republican... He was shooting at a Republican member of Congress
Starting point is 00:09:26 and four others on Wednesday morning. He was a small business owner in Illinois. He defined himself by his firm support of Bernie Sanders. They did review Hodgkinson's Facebook profile as public records and basically on his Facebook he was saying Trump
Starting point is 00:09:41 is a traitor, Trump has destroyed our democracy, it's time to destroy Trump and co. He posted that on March 22nd. He said Republicans are the Taliban of the United States of America. He's 66 years old. And I mean, basically his whole online presence was defined by his politics. Now, his neighbors described him as obnoxious about politics and reckless with firearms. He had lawn signs supporting Bernie
Starting point is 00:10:06 Sanders. Bernie Sanders spoke out and publicly acknowledged that he had volunteered for his presidential campaign last year, but he did denounce the violence as despicable. Here is what one person who was a participant in this softball practice game had to say. Fortunately, I was on the first base side and I literally dove into that dugout. It'd be like diving, I guess, into a swimming pool with no water. Zach Barth, who works for me, was shot while he was retrieving balls in the outfield. When I got into the dugout, it wasn't 10 seconds then Zach had come running in from the outfield and he literally, we landed in each other's arms. He held me, I held him. Jeff Flake took his belt off
Starting point is 00:10:45 and made a tourniquet around Zach's leg to stop the bleeding. I don't understand why he just started shooting Republicans now. Like, he's an old guy. Like, he just started hating Republicans this year. Enough to want to shoot him. But they said it was a bill recently that passed, right?
Starting point is 00:10:59 With 217 Republicans or 217 people for the reason the bill didn't get passed. Is there any truth to that, Yee? I mean, I don't know what set him off and what made him decide to go. I don't think anybody really knows for sure, but we do know that he was definitely, strongly anti-Trump.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Alright. And then there was also a shooting in San Francisco at a UPS facility. The gunman killed three men and then killed himself when police came and had, uh, were about to, they didn't actually shoot at him at all. They didn't have to because he killed himself as soon as the cops came.
Starting point is 00:11:31 He discharged the weapon and put the gun to his head and killed himself. He worked at the UPS? Yeah, he worked at UPS. And they said he had recently complained about working excessive overtime and saying that he wasn't doing overtime anymore. You know how many people want to work overtime at UPS? I know we make the joke, don't be mad, UPS is hiring, but UPS is actually a great job.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Okay? And by the way, that UPS in that area is definitely hiring at this moment. They got some open positions right now. Well, really sad situation. So our condolences to the families of the three men who were killed. All right. Well, that's front page news. Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:12:05 800-585-1051. If you're upset, you need to vent, call us now. Or if you feel blessed, hit us up. 800-585-1051. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:12:19 This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. Say it with your chest. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Sean, what up, Sean? Hey, hey. Envy, what's up, man? You from Florida, man?
Starting point is 00:12:33 You just got home? Congratulations. Welcome home, bro. Yes, sir. Am I on? Am I on with the whole crew? You live, bro. You live.
Starting point is 00:12:40 I would tell you welcome home, but you live in Florida, so, I mean, that's not much of a welcome. I got you. My girl would like to tell you why in Florida. So, I mean, that's not much of a welcome. I got you. My girl would like to tell you why she's blessed also. But first, Charlamagne. Oh, well, my homegirl. But first, Charlamagne, I would like to tell you, bro. Yeah, I was locked up in county two months.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Just got out Friday, bro. And I'm blessed for that. And also, man, I tried to get black privilege with your book while I was in there. But they would only accept paper copies. So, I got it now. You know what I'm saying? Thank you, brother. I appreciate that. Yeah, and but you still helped me out while I was in there, because I got
Starting point is 00:13:12 a paper-covered version of The Seeker Award with Rhonda Byrne and everything. But, so yeah, man, keep being all inspiration, you know what I'm saying? And helping out, you know, people. But hey, oh yeah, my shorty would like to say why she's blessed, too, you know what I'm saying? Alright, go ahead, put it But, hey, oh, yeah, my shorty would like to say why she's blessed, too. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:13:27 All right, go ahead. Put it on. All right, cool, cool, cool. What's your name, Mama? My name is Bree. Nice. My name's from Tampa, Florida. Now, you are free.
Starting point is 00:13:34 He doesn't have you as a hostage or anything, right? Yeah, no, nothing. I'm blessed to be home, man. It's great to be out here vibing, doing our thing. How was that fresh out of prison penis? What, proper? We all are. We need to chill out.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Real sorry. Hey, Charlamagne's cool, bro. Thank you, mama. DJ. What's up, NB? Your name DJ, GMJ? Angela Yee. How you guys doing?
Starting point is 00:14:00 Good morning. This GMJ is the DJ? Yes, sir. What's up, brother? Now, you seen the Tupac movie? Did you like it, hate it, love it? What you thought? Yeah, I liked it.
Starting point is 00:14:08 After the movie and everything, I started putting it together. Some people were telling me that, man, I didn't really care for it. I don't like it. I'll never watch it again. I'm like, okay. You know, everybody has their own opinion. I've been hearing good reviews about it. I can definitely say that.
Starting point is 00:14:22 I haven't had nobody tell me it was whack. Yeah, a few of my friends went to the screening and said it was pretty good. Yeah, I like it. I like it. I think it's pretty good. I told them, I said, well, you know, if you go watch it again, maybe you'll see a different view of it. I said, maybe, you know, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Some people are just crazy sometimes. Let me ask you a question. Did Pac die then? Oh, shut up, man. You know the end. Tell us why you're mad. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051
Starting point is 00:14:46 or if you feel blessed and you want to spread some positivity, call us up right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Let's go! This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:15:03 So if you got something on your mind, let it out. Willie, good morning, Willie. Good morning, good morning. What's going on? Willie's from South Carolina. He drives trucks. Willie, you don't love your profession, bro? Yeah, I love my profession, bro, but, you know, it's a different way of trying to abuse you,
Starting point is 00:15:18 you know what I'm saying? Where you work at? UPS driver? Hell no, I don't work at no UPS. You're a truck driver. Yeah, I drive flatbed for smitties. Willie Maddy works for the white man. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Yeah, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So won't you save your money and buy your own truck one day? That's what we're doing, you know what I'm saying? We're going to start our own professional one day, but right now, you know, we want to go over the road. And so this white man gave us the opportunity to work with him.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Got you, got you. Now he abusing us, you know what I'm saying? Because he see what we capable of doing. So now he trying to run us like damn slaves. Well, here you go. Here you go. As long as you know you're working on the plantation, but you got a plan to escape. Oh, yeah. We're most definitely. That's all it's about, my brother. Here you go. As long as you know you're working on the plantation, but you got a plan to escape. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:06 We're most definitely. That's all it's about, my brother. That's all. Ain't nothing wrong with working for the white man. Ain't nothing wrong with working for nobody in the beginning. Just know that you're doing that as a means to an end. Kyla, what up? Now, Kyla, you're from Houston.
Starting point is 00:16:17 You feel blessed this morning. Tell us why. I'm feeling blessed because the Lord blessed me and woke me up this morning. There you go. I got a job, and I'm with Acadian Ambulance, and I'm here waiting to go to work. All right. Well, congratulations. I'm glad you blessed this morning, brother.
Starting point is 00:16:31 I feel. Thank you. And actually, I'm having a kid. Shout out to my fiance and our little baby we got on the way. Boy or girl? Boy. We got four weeks left. Congrats, bro.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Yes. Enjoy. That goes so fast, man. I know. I appreciate it. We're pretty excited. All right. Congratulations to your wife and you. Let's get it. That goes so fast, man. I know. I appreciate it. We're pretty excited. Congratulations to your wife and you. Let's get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:16:49 800-585-1051. Now we got rumors on the way, Yee. Yes, how would you like to play dodgeball with Ben Stiller? We'll tell you how we can make that happen for you. Well, you can make that happen for you. Also, let's discuss Bachelor in Paradise. We'll give you an update on what cast members are saying went down in the pool.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Was it sexual assault or not? All right, we'll get into all that when we come back. Keep it locked. This is The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Listen up. It's just in.
Starting point is 00:17:17 All the gossip. Gossip. The rumor report. Gossip. Angela Yee. It's the rumor report. The Breakfast Club. So for all you fans of the movie Dodgeball, you can have the opportunity to play Dodgeball for charity
Starting point is 00:17:30 with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. Wouldn't that be amazing? Did you guys see the movie Dodgeball? Yes. No, I never watched Dodgeball. I thought it was funny. I love movies. Yeah, it's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:17:39 I love movies like that. Anyway, here is, they actually did a whole entire trailer to show you what can go down. Check it out. Sorry to interrupt your internet life, but for the last 13 years, Anyway, here is, they actually did a whole entire trailer to show you what can go down. Check it out. Sorry to interrupt your internet life, but for the last 13 years, while I've been living a sugar-free,
Starting point is 00:17:52 protein-forward lifestyle, I've watched as all of you have gotten fatter and dumber with your hashtags and your baes and your Kanye's. Everyone is so PC now. Even good old-fashioned bullying is out. Well, White Goodman has decided to get with the times. That's right. It's time for a little charity dodgeball, bitches. I ain't gonna lie.
Starting point is 00:18:13 I go to Sky Zone a lot with my kids, and we do dodgeball at Sky Zone. It's the funnest, best thing. I'm sorry, but this sounds like a fun idea. Now, Vince Vaughn is also in the trailer. Here's his part. We want to give everyone out there a choice. You can enter for a chance to play on Globo Jim's team.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Or on our team, Average Joe's. In case you've forgotten, it takes two teams to play dodgeball white. You need two teams to play dodgeball white. You want two teams? You got it. Chachi. And it's the best workout ever. I'm not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:18:40 It's hard for me to get into movies about sports I don't care about. Like, dodgeball. You didn't play dodgeball as a kid? I don't think so. It doesn'tball. You didn't play dodgeball as a kid? I don't think so. Dodgeball. Well, what makes it really, it doesn't even matter because I never played dodgeball either. It's just a funny movie. You never played dodgeball as a kid?
Starting point is 00:18:50 You're from Brooklyn, Jersey. No, you know what we used to play? You know when you play handball? Suicide. And then you take the ball and you try to hit the ball. That's a lot different. I can't watch Seabiscuit because I hate horse racing. I just can't.
Starting point is 00:19:01 I'm not into the sport. I can't watch the movie. But it's funny. And what makes it funny is it's a serious dodgeball game, like the way that they play. But anyway. You don't take your daughters to Sky Zone? You never take them to Sky Zone yet?
Starting point is 00:19:11 Yeah, but not to play dodgeball. They play dodgeball all the time, no? I thought Sky Zone is where you float and all that stuff. No, that's the trampoline. They jump on the trampoline. Oh, yeah, they jump on the trampoline. I don't know if she plays. I don't think she plays dodgeball.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Why don't she jump on the trampoline? Well, all donations go to the Stila Foundation. They provide education to children around the world, so you can donate $10, and you can enter for a chance to win to play this dodgeball game, or you can donate more, and you get things like autographed items, or you can win a bike. So that's a great idea. I just thought,
Starting point is 00:19:36 because they were supposed to do a sequel for that movie for a long time, and it never happened. You should do it up here, man, versus the fans, man. Breakfast Club versus the fans, a big dodgeball game. We don't have fans. We have fans. Breakfast Club versus the fans, a big dodgeball game. We don't have fans. We have supporters. Breakfast Club versus the supporters. People that ride out with us and have a big dodgeball game and all the money go to some...
Starting point is 00:19:52 I don't know. Envy, can you just develop this in your idea? He's just throwing things out there. Just do it. I heard Envy on the radio say he was going to give charity. He's going to give all the money to cancer research. Just wait, Envy. That's how things develop that fast. Put it together in your head, and then we'll come back to it. Write it down, and then come back later with an actual idea.
Starting point is 00:20:10 How about that? Let me finish rumors. You think on us. You write with that sharpie on the table. Breakfast club, please. Bachelor in Paradise. Now, let's give you some more information on what's going on. Now, we've been telling you this story.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Corinne Olympios, who's one of the contestants, and her co-star, Demario Jackson, were in in the pool and they were having some type of sexual activity. But she's saying that she was in a highly sexual situation under the influence of alcohol while the cameras were rolling. And now she released a statement. She said, I am a victim and have spent the last week trying to make sense of what happened the night of June 4th. Although I have little memory of that night, something bad obviously took place, which I understand is why production on the show has now been suspended,
Starting point is 00:20:49 and a producer on the show has filed a complaint against the production. As a woman, this is my worst nightmare and has now become my reality. She said she is now hiring an attorney to obtain justice and seeking therapy to begin dealing with the physical and emotional trauma stemming from that evening.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Now, he has also released a statement. Here is what DeMario Jackson is saying. He said, it's unfortunate my character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations. I will be taking swift and appropriate legal action until my name is cleared. And per the advice of legal counsel, will be seeking all available remedies entitled to me under the laws. Now, a cast member has also come forward, and she's been talking to sources close to Bachelor in Paradise.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Now, what she's saying is she saw them hooking up in the pool, but it seemed like she was very with it. She said that Corinne yelled out to her, and she didn't seem like she was drunk. She said if she felt like Corinne was too drunk, she would have done something to break up their tryst in the pool. When she saw them, she had her top off and her legs were wrapped around him. She also said the next day Corinne was upset because she said her boyfriend back home would find out.
Starting point is 00:21:56 But she said she never heard Corinne say anything about it being nonconsensual. What network is this show on? So they are still now investigating. What network is this show on? What network is still now investigating. What network is this show on? What network is The Bachelor on? I don't know. I don't watch that a lot. Don't you watch The Bachelor?
Starting point is 00:22:09 My wife DVRs it. We don't watch it live. Yeah, it's on ABC. It's on ABC. Okay. So ABC hasn't commented yet. Okay. Now, what show we are waiting for that's going to return?
Starting point is 00:22:19 Because I think they're not going to show this season of Bachelor in Paradise at all, clearly. But they have just released a teaser trailer for Insecure Season 2. All right. Now, something I care about. Drop one of Clues' bombs for Insecure Season 2, baby. Okay? Now, Issa Rae is vibing to Slide, Calvin Harris' song, with the Migos and Frank Ocean.
Starting point is 00:22:39 This is my song, too. Tough tune. It's groovy. Tough tune. It's groovy. Yeah, so this season returns to HBO on July 23rd, and she actually captions July 23rd is hella soon. And I just want Issa's character on Insecure
Starting point is 00:22:55 to be in absolute pain on the first episode. I want her to be so distraught. I want it to open up with her in the fetal position, eating ice cream, you know, just crying to herself. I want her to just get back with her ex that she cheated on him with and just get with him. I need to start watching the show. The ex don't like it. The ex ain't into her like that.
Starting point is 00:23:13 She don't realize she was just a smut. But maybe she'll realize that this is. He was into her. He popped up. He's trying to find out what happened. He was definitely into her. All right. I'm Angela Yee, and that's your rumor report.
Starting point is 00:23:23 All right. Now, when we come back, front page news. What are we talking about, Yeezy? We're going to talk about shootings that just happened, one at a UPS facility and one at the Republicans who are practicing for their game against the Democrats. All right, we'll get into that when we come back. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela
Starting point is 00:23:38 Yee, Charlamagne Tha God, we are The Breakfast Club. Let's get some front page news. Now, what's going to happen? Saturday, August 26th in Vegas, Mayweather versus McGregor. Trash-ass fight. Fought on that fight. If you know anything about boxing, you know this is a huge waste of time. Yeah, it's a great payday for Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
Starting point is 00:23:56 But what has Conor McGregor done to earn a shot to fight Floyd Money Mayweather? All of these great young boxers in the sport of boxing, and you're going to make a mockery of the sport by letting Conor McGregor get a fight against Floyd Mayweather? I mean, his last fight, this is his 50th, this is the way he wants to go out. He probably wants the biggest payday possible and this is going to be a huge payday. I want to see the fight.
Starting point is 00:24:15 I don't know why. It's a trash ass fight. McGregor might just hit him one good time. There's no way you watch boxing and you're saying stuff like that. So you've never seen a lucky punch and something knocks somebody out? We've seen it all the time. Floyd Mayweather is the greatest defensive fighter of all time. Unless he has slowed down tremendously, Conor McGregor's not going to touch him. I guess we got to see.
Starting point is 00:24:32 He's not going to put a finger on him in a boxing match. Now, if I'm Floyd Mayweather, I'm making Conor McGregor sign something that says, if you do anything other than punch me, you don't get paid. Because Conor McGregor's used to going out there and fighting a certain way, which is with kicks and grapples. And he might just react off muscle memory and do that.
Starting point is 00:24:49 But other than that, no, this is a trash ass fight. OK, horrible. Now, let's talk about these shootings that's been happening. Right. There was one gunman who has been identified as 38 year old Jimmy Lamb, and he killed three men at a UPS facility in San Francisco, and then he killed himself. Now, apparently he did work at this UPS, and they said recently he was just complaining about overtime and saying he didn't want to do any overtime. It was excessive overtime.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Authorities don't know if he targeted the victims that he shot and killed. Five other people were injured as well, but they're still investigating that situation. And then there was also a shooting. Now, this shooting was by James T. Hodgkinson. He was a Bernie Sanders supporter, and Bernie Sanders publicly acknowledged that Hodgkinson had volunteered for his presidential campaign, but he denounced the violence as despicable. And what they are saying is that he, on Facebook profile would write things like Trump is a traitor. Trump has destroyed our democracy. It's time to destroy Trump.
Starting point is 00:25:48 He posted all of that on his personal Facebook page. He did not like Republicans. So he showed up at a baseball park practice. And that's when he started shooting because he was angry with President Trump. So he was suffering from some type of mental illness. He was just fed up like the old man in New Jack City. I don't know. You know, they said that he was always hanging around that baseball park. They said that he was also living
Starting point is 00:26:10 out of his van. So yeah, he probably was suffering from some type of mental illness or he was just fed up like the old man in New Jack City. Remember when the old man in New Jack City wanted them to bust Nino Brown and they wouldn't bust Nino Brown but when they finally arrested Nino Brown and he only got like a year and so then the guy shot him at the end of the movie. That's what this sounded like to me.
Starting point is 00:26:25 Right. He was living outside of his van for the past few months, and this was all at the Congressional Baseball game practice. So they were practicing for that game, which is Democrats against the Republicans. And the game is still going to go on tonight as planned, by the way. They're still going to show that solidarity, that baseball can bring both sides together. Who the hell still want to play a game of baseball after somebody just got shot yesterday? What the hell is wrong
Starting point is 00:26:48 with y'all? You sick sociopaths? Y'all ain't gonna grieve? It's a charity game. No one got killed at this game. I don't care. It's not like it's the World Series or a playoff game. This game don't have to go on. Let's take a look a couple days on.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Now, James C. Hodgkinson did get killed in this, though, by the police. Okay, well, he got killed. All right? This game don't have to go on. Y'all don't have to do this. Like, we're not going to look at y'all and be like, oh, you guys are so strong because y'all played a charity baseball game after somebody got shot. Like, no.
Starting point is 00:27:18 All right. All right, and let's talk about another shooting at a UPS facility. We just did that first. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm still thinking dodgeball. All right. Well, that's front page news.
Starting point is 00:27:28 When we come back, Freddie Gibbs will be joining us. Now, Freddie Gibbs, he's signed to Jeezy. No, he used to be signed to Jeezy. He was overseas touring. He actually can't stand Jeezy. He's got an EP out right now. I guess you would call it EP. Maybe it's an album.
Starting point is 00:27:41 It's only eight songs. It's called You Only Live Twice. Really good project. He's speaking about album. It's only eight songs. It's called You Only Live Twice. Really good project. He's speaking about everything that he went through. He was locked up in Australia. And now he was in Vienna, Austria. Austria. Austria.
Starting point is 00:27:53 There you go. He was overseas touring and got locked up. We're going to talk to him about all that when we come back. And he's got Brother Tony Muhammad with him as well. Okay. That's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:28:02 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. We got a special guest in the building, Freddie Gibbs. Yes, sir. My man, Freddie Gibbs. Yes, sir, man. And Brother Tony Muhammad. Brother Tony Muhammad.
Starting point is 00:28:13 As-salamu alaykum, my brother. Wa-alaykum-salam. Now, you got the good Brother Tony Muhammad with you, Freddie. Is he offering you counseling? Oh, man, he offering me everything, man. Okay. He like, you know, he like a father figure to me, man. When I was, you know, going through my situation and coming home and getting back readjusted,
Starting point is 00:28:27 he's definitely one of the most instrumental people and helped me get back right and all of that. So I definitely wanted to bring him on here with me. I remember when those allegations first came up, we sat in here and on the air, and we were like, I mean, I know Freddie Gibbs, and I can't imagine something like that happening. And it's hard to say because you never know what people are capable of, but I think we all in the room are like, okay, we all know him. It doesn't seem like a Freddie Gibbs scenario.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Not at all. Charlamagne, I appreciate you, man, because I was talking to him a lot when I was overseas and everything. It's like everybody know my character, man. Know that I, you know, that definitely wasn't the type of thing that I'd be involved in. I was listening to the album You Only Live Twice. I was listening to the album, You Only Live Twice. I was listening to Homesick, and you detail it a lot.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Right. It seemed like you took a charge for your homeboy. I definitely did. Okay. That's definitely what happened, man. You know, it was a situation in which, you know, the homies was dealing with some females at a show, and they took it back to the room and
Starting point is 00:29:25 whatever transpired i don't i don't know because i was in my room but something happened that made her you know want to um you know go to the authorities you know i mean and it was it was a messed up situation because it was bad for myself and my family and i just had a child at the time so right the bad thing about it they know who freddie gibbs is they might not know who your friends are but they know exactly so that's the first thing that they point at. Yeah, exactly. I mean, like, when the initial charge came down, I wasn't even charged. I wasn't even in the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:29:51 So a whole year later, when I went back there, the girl went to the authorities, and she got some rape activist lawyer or something like that. And then she said that I had a dream that Freddie Gibbs, you know, sexually assaulted me. And over there in Europe, you know, you're guilty to proven innocence. So that was enough for them to charge me and hold me for those six months. Hold on now. I heard that before, but she had a dream. What do you mean she had a dream?
Starting point is 00:30:16 Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. That's what I said. I'm about to dream. You know, the whole situation was just sick that something that small, a dream, can get somebody indicted. It was horrible. So did your homeboys actually do anything? Nah, they didn't do nothing. My homeboys that was involved in that situation, they didn't do nothing.
Starting point is 00:30:37 They kind of just disappeared. They never came back to Washington? Not at all. They didn't have to go there. I had to go there, you know, for you, my friend. That's crazy. So they really didn't because I did see you on Viceland discussing the situation and saying that you did learn people were not in your corner. Not at all, not at all.
Starting point is 00:30:53 So those same people that were the ones that actually bought and you don't know what happened or transpired, but they just basically didn't reach out to you or communicate with you? Not at all. They didn't come check on my family or nothing. These people that I fed and, you know, took care of for years, you know what I mean? So, you know, it hurt, but it was an eye-opening experience,
Starting point is 00:31:12 you know what I mean? And, you know, God don't make no mistakes. Exactly the same thing happened to me one time, my brother. I had a criminal sexual conduct charge. I know. Girls in the room with a couple of my homeboys. I know. We was talking about it when I was over there, you know.
Starting point is 00:31:22 When you was telling me about that situation, that was kind of giving me hope. I was like, alright, man, you know what I mean? I wasn't in another country, though. That would have scared me to death. You know, that's one of my biggest fears, going to another country and just getting arrested because you don't know what to do. It's not like here, you can call a lawyer, call your moms, call your wife,
Starting point is 00:31:38 call your girl. Like, when you get locked up overseas, what do you do? Like, what did you do? Well, first of all, man, you know, it wasn't a bail situation. So, you know, they was like, nah, man, you know, What did you do? Well, first of all, man, it wasn't a bail situation. So they was like, nah, man, we don't do bail over here. So it was like, damn. We don't do bail?
Starting point is 00:31:52 Bail? We don't do bail? So I had to kind of like, shout out to my lawyer, Ludovic, he came to the show last night. He came all the way over here from France to the show. He had to basically map out a situation where I can get some kind of special conditions, you know, he had to, you know, basically map out a situation where I can get like some kind of special conditions bill.
Starting point is 00:32:07 So basically I had to put up like 70,000 euros. That's probably like 100 grand in American cash just to get bail out of France. And then when I went to Austria, when I got extradited, I had to pay that same amount again just to get bail out there. But when I got there, they denied the bill. And that's why I had to stay in jail the extra 30 days. And the judge that I made the deal with, he went on vacation. So, you know,
Starting point is 00:32:29 the vacations over there last like a month. So basically, while he was on vacation, I was sitting in jail waiting on him to come back and redo the deal that I made with him before I entered their country. And were you allowed to leave after you did all the deal, or you still had to stay there? I had to stay there. They took my passport, ID, everything, driver's license, all of that.
Starting point is 00:32:48 I couldn't move around. So what did you do for finances? Did they allow you to do shows? Did they allow you to perform? Not at all. Not at all. I couldn't perform. Every date that I had scheduled during this time, it was missed.
Starting point is 00:33:00 A lot of opportunities that I had. So how did you live? Where did you live? I thugged it out. You know what I'm saying? I had money already, so I was, you know, I was okay. You know what I mean? So it wasn't like, you know, I was, you know, I had some.
Starting point is 00:33:13 You didn't dip into the money you had. Yeah, I was all right. You know what I mean? I was working prior to that. I was on tour. So I was fine. It was just that they was just messing up the money that was coming in for me. Right.
Starting point is 00:33:22 And opportunities that was coming in for me. You know what I mean? Like, you know, when you got something as heinous as rape hanging over your head, you know what I mean? It's quite difficult to feed your family. It's quite difficult to feed your family in this business. I mean, because don't nobody want to be around you.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Don't nobody want to touch you. And public opinion is already like, can we rape somebody? Right. It's already out there. So people just, you know, it's point of finger. Like, oh, you know. And I'm back and I'm acquitted and I still have to clear my name with this.
Starting point is 00:33:48 That's the crazy part about it. There's still people every day that be like, oh, yeah, you got a rape charge. And I'm like, no, I don't. And then you never know. 17 years from now, you might make Birth of a Nation or a movie like that. And they bring this up. Yeah, right. And they bring it right back to me.
Starting point is 00:34:01 That's right. This is real. You're a film. Exactly. But I saw you said when you first came back, you didn't even want to do music anymore. I did not. You just wanted to hide and just...
Starting point is 00:34:08 I just wanted to just chill with my daughter because, you know, at the end of the day, that's what I was missing the most when I was over there, you know what I mean, being with my child and being with my family. And it's like, man, if I can, if this business can put me in this position, like, what do I need to be in this for?
Starting point is 00:34:22 You know, this is what I got out of the streets for, to get to do this and take care of my family. And if this is putting me in prison, then, nah, I don't want to do this. All right, we got more with Freddie Gibbs when we come back. All right, we got to talk his experience in a foreign jail, this new album, and why he brought brother Tony Muhammad with him.
Starting point is 00:34:40 All right, so keep it locked. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy Angelique. Shalom and the God, We are The Breakfast Club. Now we got Freddie Gibbs in the building. Now, Freddie, you got a guest with you, Tony Muhammad. How did you hook up with Brother Muhammad? I live in L.A., man, so, you know, this guy is not hard to bump into in L.A.
Starting point is 00:34:57 That's why I rock with Minister Tony because he in the streets, man. You know what I mean? And, you know, I see a lot of Baptist preachers and guys in the church and the black community and stuff like that, but they definitely not in the streets with the people like Minister Tony Miles. Give him a little history lesson, Brother Muhammad. I mean, people don't
Starting point is 00:35:15 know how you brought the gangs together back in the day. Yeah, well, first of all, man, it's an honor to be on this show because this show certainly highlighted the man that touched my life. And that's the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Yes, sir. And he's the father figure I didn't have.
Starting point is 00:35:34 And the love that he showed me because I came out of a drug lifestyle. I was a drug dealer in Atlanta, Georgia, 30-something years ago. And I heard the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan teach as I'm cutting up cocaine. And when he laid into the lecture, Power It Lasts Forever, it was what I had been wanting to hear all of my life. And then I had to then take responsibility for the damage that I did in my own community. And I pledged at that time that I would go back into the hood and repair the damages that I caused.
Starting point is 00:36:25 And so I spent countless hours in the streets winning the trust of the gang members to the tune that 20 some years later, I have resolved at least 220 gang conflicts. And so now, gangs in New York are reaching out for me. Gangs in Chicago is reaching out. We're going to have a peace ride right here. So this is why Freddie said, look, man, I've been through a situation. And as an artist now, I want
Starting point is 00:36:42 to be sort of like a journalist on the movement. We got to start talking about or rapping about some of the positives that's happening. Freddie is like, look, I want to challenge artists that we need a briefing. We need a briefing from the streets on something good that's going
Starting point is 00:36:57 down. Yeah, I saw them talk about that in the final call the other day. I think the minister said you don't have to give up your art. You have to give up the wrong expression of your art. That's right. Elevate it. Drop some simple truths in there. And that's what artists like Freddie is doing now,
Starting point is 00:37:12 studying in a point to where, look, minister, I want to use my name and I want to challenge other artists. Let me tell you, the artists can help us to unite the streets quicker than any preacher, quicker than any so-called black activist. Right. And I heard Farrakhan say that on his show. Yes, sir. Brother, what you all could do with one rap song I couldn't do with 50,000 lectures.
Starting point is 00:37:32 I mean, I started taking Farrakhan really serious because of rap. Like, my father used to always try to get me to listen to the minister's speeches and stuff. And I'd be like, you know, when I heard Biggie say, deep like the mind of Farrakhan, or Chuck B say, Farrakhan's a prophet, I think you ought to listen to him. Just that seed made me be like, oh, yeah, let me really start paying attention. This is just about us connecting with us and uniting with us and get ideas from each other. You know, it's like I said to Freddie, okay, brother, you draw a circle around yourself and everybody that's around you,
Starting point is 00:38:01 draw a line to them and what you bring to them and draw a line back from them and what do they bring to you. If there's to them and what you bring to them. And draw a line back from them and what do they bring to you? If there's not an exchange, get rid of that cat. Right. Because that's your problem. Now, Freddie, how therapeutic was it for you to write this album? You know, I
Starting point is 00:38:17 wrote, you know, basically everything that I'm putting out right now while I was in the cell over there in Europe because I didn't know if I was going to be able to rap again. So I know when I made bail, I was like, I just need to record a whole lot of music. And another thing, too, I didn't have any books to read or anything to read. So I was just over there just writing my own raps and reading them.
Starting point is 00:38:35 You know what I mean? All the books was in German. You know what I mean? So, I mean, this whole experience, like I said, man, God don't make mistakes. So, you know, he brought me through this for a reason. Yeah, I heard you say that on the album. You said that you couldn't read and then Erica bought you some books. Yeah, Erica. Man, shout out to her. So, you know, he brought me through this for a reason. Yeah, I heard you say that on the album. You said that you couldn't read, and then Erica bought you some books. Yeah, Erica.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Man, shout out to her. I love you, baby. She definitely brought me some books. You know what I'm saying? Like, she brought me a whole lot of, like, black literature books, and they wouldn't even let me get those. So the first batch of books she brought me, I couldn't even read them. Really?
Starting point is 00:38:59 Yeah, they wouldn't even let me. So did they treat you like that because you were American, because you were a celebrity? Of course, you were black. I think it was a combination of all three of those things. I was an American celebrity and black, you know what I mean? And I was the only American person in the prison over there, so it was crazy. Tell me some of the things they were saying to you.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Oh, man. You Trump supporter? No, man. I mean, you know what, man? A black man raping two white women in a predominantly white country, that's, I mean, you know, that's tough. You know what I mean? And it's like, you know, we had TVs in the cell.
Starting point is 00:39:34 So every night I'm watching myself on foreign TV. These people dragging me through the mud in another language, and I don't even know what they're saying. Wow. So, you know, it was definitely quite difficult for me, you know, being over there. What about the other prisoners? Did you have to fight? I'm sure you had to they're saying. Wow. So, you know, it was definitely quite difficult for me, you know, being over there. What about the other prisoners? Did you have to fight? I'm sure you had to fight a couple of times.
Starting point is 00:39:48 No, nobody really rocked with me. Nobody really wanted it like that. But, you know, it was a lot of swastikas and neo-Nazis and, you know, people of that nature. You know what I mean? The crazy thing when I went over there is there was a lot of Africans locked up over there like that. You know what I mean? So I figured, oh, okay, these guys. We black.
Starting point is 00:40:10 They black. We good. You know what I mean? So I'm like, yo, put me with them. Over there with them. You know what I'm saying? But I get with them, and they're like, huh? Africans don't like no black Americans.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Exactly. I was like, damn. They wasn't rocking with me. So I was like, damn. So that really put me in a place where I was like, man, I'm really by myself in here. They don't really mess with me at all. There was nobody that you messed with or spoke to or anything then?
Starting point is 00:40:32 Nobody, man. Totally alone. All I had was my pictures, man, of my daughter and my girl. And I was just looking at that and just knowing that I was going to come out of this because at the end of the day, I didn't do a thing. You know what I mean? But did you ever really think that, though? Like, was it ever a point where you thought, man, I may never come home?
Starting point is 00:40:47 Because you're in another country. They just told you your whole identity and everything. Yeah, when they came in the cell and offered me the 10 years, I was like, wow. I was like, are y'all serious? 10 years? And they was like, yeah, we're going to give you 10, pretty much. If you get convicted, you're going to get 10. I was like, nah. Then they came the next day
Starting point is 00:41:03 and they said, all right, man, we'll give you three if you just admit it. What? And I was like, hold on, hold on. So you want me to lie on myself and take three years? I'm like, nah, man. Give me the 10. Can you press charges now against them?
Starting point is 00:41:17 I definitely got some legal action going on against the girls, the country, all of that right now. You know what I mean? So it was definitely a big defamation know, defamation of my character. So I'm definitely suing. Do you take overseas shows now? Or are you like, uh? Hell yeah, I take them.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Hell yeah, I take them. Come on with it. You know what I mean? And I'm doubling up on y'all. Because, you know what I mean? Y'all tried to, you know what I mean, drag my life through the mud. So, yeah, I'm taking them. I'm going to get my money.
Starting point is 00:41:41 I didn't do nothing wrong. Everybody is like, hey, man, you going back to Europe? I'm like, hell yeah, I'm going back to Europe going to get my money. I didn't do nothing wrong. That is true. Everybody is like, hey, man, you going back to Europe? I'm like, hell, yeah, I'm going back to Europe. You know why? Because I didn't do nothing. Because that's definitely defamation. That messes with your money, with your livelihood. There's certain things that you'll never be able to get back.
Starting point is 00:41:53 Right, exactly. You know what I mean? So, you know, I got to stand strong and keep, you know, doing what I can and keep a full head of steam. I've seen that your shows have been selling out. So, do you feel the love and support now that you have put yourself out there? Do you feel like people are listening to your side of the story, believing in you, and happy to see you? Yeah, thank you. Yeah, man, I just, man, I want to, you know, say shout out to all my fans and everybody that supported me.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Because, like I said, this whole thing, this whole ordeal could have definitely, you know, ended my career and ended what I got going on. So, you know, I appreciate everybody that's still coming out there supporting me. I appreciate this man right here. This man like a father figure to me. Without him, I probably wouldn't have been able to get back up on that stage and get back to doing what I'm doing. So, you know, I just got a different outlook on life and I want to use my
Starting point is 00:42:35 platform to not only just make music, but to provide information as well. There we have it. Tony Muhammad, Freddie Gibbs. Appreciate you guys for joining us. And big shout out to Erica for giving us a And big shout-out to Erica for being on this show. Oh, yeah, definitely. Shout-out to Erica and Irie. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:42:50 Good morning. Definitely. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Barack.
Starting point is 00:43:04 This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee. Rumor has it. On The Breakfast Club. Listen up. Well, Kevin Durant recently sat down for an interview with Bill Simmons on The Ringer podcast. My guy, Bill Simmons. And here's what he had to say about who actually texted him after the NBA finals, after they won. Here's what he
Starting point is 00:43:28 said. What was the most surprising text you got in the last 24 hours? Obama. Well, he said a text threw somebody to get to me. What'd he say? Uh, congrats. Your defense was really good, which was random. And, uh, told me to enjoy it. You know, have
Starting point is 00:43:44 some fun. You know, typical stuff. Don't go to the White House. I wasn't expecting that. They're not going to the White House, are they? Oh, name-dropping-ass superstar. Oh, name-dropping-ass finals MVP. That's a great name to drop. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:43:58 Barack Obama. I'm sure plenty of people text you. You just randomly picked Barack Obama. I'm sure a lot of chicks texted him, too. Why don't you go with Barack? Yeah, that's a huge deal. Top of the list. I got a letter from Michelle yesterday, but you don't see me on the radio just randomly pick Barack Obama. I saw a lot of chicks texting him, too. But you go with Barack. Yeah, that's a huge deal. Top of the list. I got a letter from Michelle yesterday, but you don't see
Starting point is 00:44:08 me on the radio just bragging about it. Do you? Yes. Kind of right now. Yeah, not even to say Michelle. Mrs. Michelle Obama. Okay. Alright. This guy. Now, Bill Cosby. Let's talk about what's going on with Bill Cosby's case. I bet you wouldn't say nothing if Bill texts you, good game.
Starting point is 00:44:23 No. Definitely not. Way to take it. Way if Bill texts you good game. No, definitely not. Way to take it. Way to take it, Katie. Now, they actually, the jury asked to hear some of the statements that were made back again. They wanted to hear Richard Schaefer's testimony. Now, Richard Schaefer is one of the people that interviewed Bill Cosby, and that was the statements that they read from what he said previously.
Starting point is 00:44:43 And basically, what they wanted to hear again was the fact that Bill Cosby did not have sex with Andrea Constance while she was asleep or awake, but he did say that he had a consensual necking session with her. What the hell is a necking session? Like making out. No.
Starting point is 00:45:00 I thought necking was oral. No, no, no. It's not. There was no penile penetration. Just basically him touching her breasts and genitals. When I say give me some neck, give me some neck used to mean give me some fellatio. Necking means making out. It doesn't mean that.
Starting point is 00:45:15 Just Google it. Look in the Urban Dictionary. Necking is just making out. I'm not putting that in my bra. Your nephew's here. What is necking, Casey? No, it's hair. What is necking, Casey? No, it's not. Well, when Bill Cosby said, when Bill Cosby used the word necking,
Starting point is 00:45:33 that's not what he meant, okay? I'm just telling you how slang has evolved over time. I don't know what it meant in Bill's day, but in our day, that's absolutely fallacious. All right, now in this testimony that he gave back in 2005, he said he never intended to have sex with Andrea Constance. He said, I don't trust a woman who says she doesn't know how long it will take her to heal. And that was about her mom. I was about to say, what the hell is Bill doing to women?
Starting point is 00:45:54 I don't know. It's not going to take her long to heal. So now there's been nearly 30 hours of deliberation. And so it was a 12-hour day yesterday. So there was no verdict still. So we're just giving you an update. They are back today at 9 a.m. to continue. All right, so that's what's going on.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Now, Steve Harvey is in trouble yet again for some comments that he made. He made a joke about Flint, Michigan. Now, apparently he was on the air, and he lashed out at a man who was from Flint because the man liked the fact that the Warriors won the NBA title this year. Here's what happened. Go ahead and talk. I just have a voice. What you just said.
Starting point is 00:46:30 I wasn't talking about the city of Flint. I was talking about him. Oh, he's still there. Hey, one more thing, though. Oh, yeah. Enjoy your nice brown glass, boy. Oh, God! Trust me.
Starting point is 00:46:47 See, on behalf of the Steve Harvey Morning Show, and Steve Harvey in particular, we apologize. He's a very semen, very sore loser. Oh, you're a Cleveland don't deserve Jack. So he was upset that Cleveland lost, and he told him, enjoy your nice brown glass of water. Oh, he told that to the Flint, Michigan resident? Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:04 Okay, well, Steve will be cutting a nice big check to Flint soon, I'm sure. Now, the councilman, Wants Watts Davis from Flint, Michigan, said, I caution people not to take this person serious. He's an opportunist. He's all for show. So, there you go. All right? People are not too happy about that inappropriate joke.
Starting point is 00:47:22 Now, Tiger Woods is heading back to rehab because he could possibly lose joint custody of his two children after he got busted for DUI. So now he has to do that. He visited the hospital with his children on June 2nd, then went alone two days later to complete paperwork and his assessment. So he's got to get it together. Right. Not for himself, for the sake of his children.
Starting point is 00:47:41 He's been having back pain for years. He underwent rehab in Arizona back in 2010 because he had an addiction to Vicodin and Ambien and now he has to go back yet again. Alright, I'm Angela Yee and that is your Rumor Reports. Alright, thank you Miss Yee. Charlemagne Donkey today up next. Aw man, yes it is and it's a very
Starting point is 00:47:57 teachable moment because I tell y'all all the time, your Uncle Charla tells you all the time kids, destiny's not a matter of chance, it's a matter of choice. Alright. And we're going to talk about choices for after the hour. All right. Next, keep it locked. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:48:11 I was born a donkey. It's the donkey of the day. It's the donkey of the day. It's the donkey of the day. That's pretty funny. Is Charlotte being the devil? the day. That's pretty funny. Is Charlamagne the devil? Possibly. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:48:29 Yes, donkey of the day for Thursday, June 15th, goes to Lawrence John Ripple, a 71-year-old OG from Kansas City, Kansas. Now, I am telling this story today because I want people to learn from the mistakes of Lawrence John Ripple. This is a teachable moment, ladies and gentlemen, because your Uncle Charla gets on this
Starting point is 00:48:46 radio every day and tells you that life is all about choices. Everything in life is about choices. All we are doing throughout our whole existence is choosing. Constantly choosing. And far too often, bad things happen to people because they simply make bad choices. Now, I am a spiritual person, so I believe in
Starting point is 00:49:01 the serenity prayer. And the serenity prayer is God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage in the serenity prayer, and the serenity prayer is God grant me the serenity, the accepted things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the ability and the wisdom to know the difference, okay? Either John Ripple don't know, don't show, or don't care that he can change his circumstances. John must lack the courage to change his circumstances because John is currently in a whole bunch of trouble based off something he could have simply changed.
Starting point is 00:49:27 He just made a bad choice. All he had to do was make the wise choice to walk away. See, a federal judge sentenced Lawrence John Ripple to six months of home confinement and 50 hours of community service because at 71 years old, Lawrence John Ripple decided to rob a bank. A whole bank. Bad choices beget bad choices. to rob a bank. A whole bank. Bad choices beget bad choices. Robbing a bank is a terrible choice, but that choice happened because of a bad choice John made,
Starting point is 00:49:53 and that choice was to stay with his wife. Let's go to WDAF Fox 4 for the report, please. He robbed a bank because he was tired of living with his wife. His punishment, going back home for six months. Lawrence Ripple faced up to 20 years in a federal prison for holding up the Bank of Labor LIVING WITH HIS WIFE. HIS PUNISHMENT? GOING BACK HOME FOR SIX MONTHS. LAWRENCE RIPPLE FACED UP TO 20 YEARS IN A FEDERAL PRISON FOR HOLDING UP THE BANK OF LABOR IN DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY, KANSAS LAST SUMMER. INSTEAD, TODAY A FEDERAL JUDGE SENTENCED RIPPLE TO SIX MONTHS OF HOME CONFINEMENT. HE ALSO GOT 50 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE.
Starting point is 00:50:16 Mr. RIPPLE AND HIS LAWYER TOLD THE COURTROOM THAT MR. RIPPLE HAD BEEN SUFFERING FROM DEPRESSION EVER SINCE HE HAD HEART SURGERY IN 2015 AND THAT DEPRESSION MANIFESTED ITSELF INTO IRRITABILITY had been suffering from depression ever since he had heart surgery in 2015, and that depression manifested itself into irritability, which led to this kind of sadness that would cause him to rob a bank. He was diagnosed shortly after he was arrested last September. So Lawrence John Ripple wanted to get away from his wife. So in order to get away from his wife, he came up with the bright idea to rob a bank. Now let's unpack this. John told the judge that he blamed his actions on depression. Why are you depressed, John? I'll tell you why. Because you're in a relationship that you don't want to
Starting point is 00:50:52 be in with a woman you don't want to be with. You didn't have the courage to leave. Now here's the thing. If you're 71 years old and you can work up the courage to rob a bank, a whole bank, one entire Wells Fargo, one entire Bank of America. Why can't you find the courage to just leave your wife, divorce, separate? You probably don't want to get a divorce at 71, but just live on separate sides of the house. Just something. All I'm trying to say is there's so many other choices you could have made, and none of them had to be robbing a bank.
Starting point is 00:51:19 We all get dealt cards in life. Some of us get better cards than others, and the real game lies in the choices we make with those cards, the risk we decide to take, and the consequences we choose to live with, okay? What kind of relationship was John in that he decided he would rather live with the consequences of robbing a bank at 71 years old than living with the consequences of just up and leaving his wife? Makes no sense to me. There are three Cs in life, okay? Choices, chances, changes.
Starting point is 00:51:45 You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change. John took a chance to make a change, but it was the wrong chance. You didn't have to take a chance robbing a bank in order to change your circumstances with your wife. You could have just left your wife. You're 71. What kind of grown-ass grandpa makes such a poor decision? What is the lesson to be learned in this situation, kids?
Starting point is 00:52:06 The lesson is you are free to make whatever choice you want, but you are not free from the consequences of the choice. Please give Lawrence John Ripple the sweet sounds of the Hamilton's place. Oh, now you are the donkey of the day. You are the donkey of the day. You are the doggy. Of the day. Yee-haw. Yee-haw.
Starting point is 00:52:33 I guess I get the logic. You rob a bank, you're 71, you think you're going to go to jail for, you know, the last remaining years of your life. But even then, why would you want to spend the last years of your life in jail? I wouldn't want to. Just leave the chick. You're 71. Does your penis still get hard?
Starting point is 00:52:46 Does your penis still get hard? You still got action out here in these streets, man. All right. Well, thank you for that donkey today. Up next, Ask Yee. If you need relationship advice, call Yee right now, 800-585-1051. What's the email, Yee? Helpmeyee at gmail.com.
Starting point is 00:53:01 All right, call her right now. She'll put you live on the air. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Here's Controller. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy Angela Yee at gmail.com. All right, call her right now. She'll put you live on the air. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Here's Controller. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy Angela Yee. Charlamagne Tha God.
Starting point is 00:53:10 We are the Breakfast Club. Let's go to the phone lines. Hello, who's this? This is Justin. Hey, Joseph. What's your question for Yeezy? It's Justin. Oh, Justin.
Starting point is 00:53:18 Justin. My bad. Yeah, yeah. No, my question is, you know, I was with this girl. I'm 24. She's 28. She's four years older than me. I was with this girl for six months before she finally let me smash. And, you know, we're on the seventh month. And the whole time we were together, you know, she did tell me, you know, I don't do oral on guys or whatnot. And, you know, that's normal, I guess, to her. To me, it's not the same. But I was talking to her. I'm like, well, what about, you know, eating box?
Starting point is 00:53:47 I'm like, is this something that, you know, I could do? She's like, oh, I don't mind it. I really don't care. You know, we had sex the first couple of times. I was eating the box or whatever. And, you know, she liked it or whatnot. And then, like, I went down this one time afterwards. And she's just like, no.
Starting point is 00:54:03 She's like, no, I can't do it. I'm like, why? She's like, i can't do it i'm like why she's like oh well because you know there's a deeper meaning it's just things have happened to me in my past and i'm like well why would you tell me oh boy that it was okay before so wait wait wait she won't let you give oral to her anymore yeah and she's just saying like oh it's because of her past or something happened to her and she doesn't feel comfortable talking about it just yet i'm like well why would you lead me on to believe that and she doesn't feel comfortable talking about it just yet. I'm like, well, why would you lead me on to believe that?
Starting point is 00:54:27 And she's like, oh, well, because I didn't think you would actually do it. First of all, if she's expressing to you that something painful happened to her that she can't even talk about yet, then if you really love her, you'll be patient to find out what that is because you have no idea what that could be.
Starting point is 00:54:43 It could be something really horrific that happened to her sexually that still bothers her to this day. Oh, maybe he's trash giving head. I don't know about that. I'm just going by what she said. Please keep that edit. She said that. We gotta edit that.
Starting point is 00:55:00 For envy. Maybe he's trash giving head. Alright, but Justin, but Justin, other than the lack of oral sex in your relationship, do you guys have a good relationship sexually and spiritually? Well, yeah, yeah. I mean, yeah, she's great. So you're saying that everything else is great in a relationship. Is oral sex a deal breaker for you right now,
Starting point is 00:55:23 or do you have the patience to wait until your girlfriend can express to you what it is that happened to her and help her get through this? Yeah, I mean, like, I have the patience, you know, everything else is great. It's just that, like, she's, you know, flaky like that, you know, it's just the history of, like, flakiness with
Starting point is 00:55:40 sharing information. Like, I share everything about myself to her and she's like, just really secluded with herself. So I just want to know if there's anything I can do to help provoke her to let me know, you know, subliminally, subconsciously, can I get it out of her. Well, I think that when she's ready to open up and let you know, because you don't know what,
Starting point is 00:55:59 like, you have no idea what it could be. All you can do is be understanding and let her know that you'll be there for her and that you won't look at her any differently no matter what it is that she has to tell you. But at the end of the day, you can't force somebody to open up to you about something that could be a painful issue, whatever it is, because
Starting point is 00:56:13 she did say that something happened to her that she can't express yet. So it seems like she has to know that she can trust you and to build that trust does take some time. And if you really love her and care about her and everything else in your relationship is good,
Starting point is 00:56:27 then I think what you have to do is continue to be a great man and continue to be patient with her. All right, all right. I can try that. Because it doesn't seem like it's anything personal with you. It just seems like
Starting point is 00:56:37 she has some things within herself that she has to work through that she hasn't worked through yet. And honestly, maybe you should suggest to her to get some outside counseling that you're not involved in that can help her with her issues
Starting point is 00:56:49 because you want to make her a better person and you want to help her out mentally. Yeah, because she doesn't even masturbate. I mean, that doesn't mean that some people masturbate, some people don't. That doesn't mean anything. Her fingers might be tied. Yeah, clearly there's some issues there, as she has expressed to you.
Starting point is 00:57:07 So maybe the best thing to do is for you to find somebody that you feel like she could talk to, get some recommendations, and be like, listen, just, you know, this has nothing to do with me. Whether or not me and you end up together, I want to make sure that you're good as a person. So I think it would be a good idea for you to have somebody to speak to, and that way that can help you out and help our relationship out as well. Yeah, I like that. I like that idea. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:57:29 All right, Justin, good luck. All right. All right, thanks. ASCII, 800-585-1051. If you've got a question for Yee, call her now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:57:38 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. We have Brianna on the line. Good morning, Brianna. Good morning. How you doing this morning? Doing good, doing good. What's your question for Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy, We Are The Breakfast Club. We have Brianna on the line. Good morning, Brianna. Good morning. How you doing this morning? Doing good, doing good. What's your question for Yeezy?
Starting point is 00:57:50 Okay, so my question is, I've been seeing this guy for like six months, and he's really good, nice. Like, he takes me on nice dates, takes me to a couple concerts. Okay. But the only thing is, he's not really entertaining. He's like really safe and boring, and I kind of get bored in our conversations. Is that worth, you know, letting go or should I work on it? Are you trying to force yourself to like somebody that you don't really like
Starting point is 00:58:17 just because he treats you well and does nice things for you? Maybe. I mean, because a lot of women do that He looks great on paper He seems like the ideal boyfriend But he just doesn't turn me on like that Yeah So, you should never try to make yourself like somebody
Starting point is 00:58:36 Okay But he really likes me And I don't really know how to Listen, I'm sure there's a lot of guys that really like you Does that mean you have to be with them? Yeah, no. If you really like him as a person and you think he's a great guy, you're not doing him any favors by dating him even though you're not really into him.
Starting point is 00:58:55 Mm-hmm. You know? And listen, who knows? Maybe you'll appreciate him later on and be like, you know what? He really was a good guy after I date all these dogs out here, but they're way more exciting. Who knows? That's a risk you'll have to take, but I don't really believe in liking somebody and dating them just because
Starting point is 00:59:12 they like me and because they treat me good. I need to feel like I mutually want to do things for you. I'm turned on and I'm excited or else what's the point? Amen. Amen. Yes. Thank you. All right. No more crosses for you, boo. Good luck.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Thank you. All right. Ask Yee. 805-85-1051. If you got a question for Yee, you can call her at any time or you can email her. What's the email, Yee? It is helpmeyee at gmail.com. All right. Now, when we come back, we got some rumors, Yee? Yes. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is fighting again. I'll give you the details about when the fight is, we got some rumors, G. Yes, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is fighting again.
Starting point is 00:59:49 I'll give you the details about when the fight is going down and what's been happening. How much money is he getting and how much money is his opponent getting? All right. We'll get into all that when we come back. Keep it locked. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's about time. What's going on? Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is the Rumor Report. Talk to him.
Starting point is 01:00:03 With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. Bro, Oprah was on her first podcast ever with The Hollywood Reporter, and she talked about a lot of different things. She talked about hitting rock bottom and growing up with her mother in Milwaukee when she got pregnant. Here's what she said. I hit rock bottom. I became pregnant.
Starting point is 01:00:24 By the uncle yeah and hid the pregnancy i intended to kill myself actually i planned on killing i thought there's no way out other than killing myself and i was just planning on how to do it you know if i'd had the internet now i might not be alive because now you can just Google how to do it. Damn. Right. Well, she got raped by her uncle when she was only 14 years old. And that's what led her to wanting to consider suicide. Well, we're glad she made the right decision.
Starting point is 01:00:56 Her father said that she had a miscarriage actually is what happened. And her father called that a second chance for her. So she said she took in those words as a mantra throughout her life that helped her reach the level of success that she's at today. She also, in this podcast, talked about the rough beginnings of OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network,
Starting point is 01:01:14 and all the mistakes that she made through that. And she talks about the usage of the N-word and what happened with everything with Bill Maher. Here's what she said. I think the word should be eliminated from the lexicon. I think it should be eliminated for everybody. I have been on record being anti the word, period. Nobody should be allowed to say it.
Starting point is 01:01:33 I agree with her 360%. And the reason I agree with her 360% is because when you know better, you got to do better. And it's like, it was a point in time. And like, first of all, black people have always made the best out of the worst, AKA chitlins. All right's like it was a point in time. And like, first of all, black people have always made the best out of the worst, a.k.a. chitlins.
Starting point is 01:01:47 All right. But it comes a point in time where you grow, but you grow, you grow and you evolve and you don't eat hog at all anymore. Like there's nothing positive about that word. And instead of trying to turn that word into a positive, let's just use words that are already positive, like king and brother and God. We don't have to flip that word. OK, so we will remind you every time.
Starting point is 01:02:07 I'm trying. All right. It's just these N-words is out here. Okay. And it's hard. But these kings are out here. I'm trying. Some of them, everybody ain't a king now.
Starting point is 01:02:14 Let's be clear. I'm just... All right, now let's get into the Forbes list. They just released their world's highest paid athletes. And in the top 10, there are four NBA players, two soccer players, a tennis player, a golfer, and a Formula One racer. Who do you think is number one on the list? Made $93 million last year. LeBron James.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Floyd Mayweather. Number one is Cristiano Ronaldo. Soccer player. There you go. Football. That's who penis y'all should be trying to get penetrated with. Soccer player. Anyway, number two on the list is actually LeBron.
Starting point is 01:02:45 He made $86.2 million. Number three is Lionel Messi, soccer player also. See what I'm saying? Roger Federer. Five is Kevin Durant. What did Roger Federer do? He made $64 million. He plays tennis.
Starting point is 01:02:55 Tennis, tennis, tennis, tennis. All right. Also on the list, Steph Curry's on the list at number eight. James Harden's number nine. And Lewis Hamilton, the Formula One racer, is at number 10. Ain't no more soccer players up there? Just two. I'm surprised Floyd's not on that list. Well, he hasn't fought in the last year.
Starting point is 01:03:10 This is just from last year. So, once he does his next fight, he'll definitely be on the list. And let's get into that fight because he is going to be fighting Conor McGregor. That fight is going to be happening on August 26th. And here is what Dana White had to say about the fight.
Starting point is 01:03:25 You know, the negotiations went a lot better and a lot smoother than I thought they would. You know, the impossible deal is now happening. August 26th at the T-Mobile in Vegas. All right, and he said that Conor is expected to make around $100 million for the fight, but he didn't break down all the financials. They letting Conor McGregor get $100 million.
Starting point is 01:03:45 I'm just trying to figure out what has Conor McGregor done to earn the right to be in a boxing ring with Floyd Mayweather. I don't watch UFC. Is he one of the biggest fighters in UFC? He's the biggest? He might be the most famous. He might be the most famous. I'm thinking of Jon Bon Jones.
Starting point is 01:03:59 And weight-wise, they'll be fighting at 154 pounds. I just think it's disrespectful to the sport of boxing, man. All right. Well, I am Angela Yee, and that is your Rumor Report. All right. Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show,
