Starting point is 00:04:15 A little bit to the right. It's on the break. Yeah, we could, yeah. It's fixing now. It's okay. But right now, I think people just listening. They're not tuning in, looking. So I think you're straight. This is the time. Oh, no, no. They're not tuning in, looking. So I think you're straight.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Oh, no, no. They're watching. Remember, we're on BET as well. Hello. Is Justin and Valentine's mic on? Yeah, I think so. No, it's not. It's not a little hollow.
Starting point is 00:04:33 It's not? Oh, yeah, I can't hear nothing on my mic. Oh, there we go. There we go. There it is. All right. You see how he tried to check me real quick? No, they watching, too.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Don't get it messed up. They watching. We are on BET. Yes. And even on BET. Yes. And even though BET did not promote us at the BET Awards, I'm only saying that this morning. I'm only saying that now. I mean, you've been saying it for the last four days. I'm letting it go.
Starting point is 00:04:54 You've had some nice conversations. Oh, you're letting it go now? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So if you had nice conversations, why don't you just let it go? Because I want people to know I'm letting it go. You got to get it going. Because you're petty. Because you're petty.
Starting point is 00:05:04 All right. I want people to know I'm letting it go. Because you're petty. Because you're petty. All right. I want people to know I'm letting it go. Now, the cast of Survival of the Thickest will be joining us this morning. Hey. Oh, that's me. I'm part of the cast. Girl. You on that show?

Starting point is 00:05:41 It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. We're celebrating the 20th season of Wild N' Out. We have the ladies of Wild N' Out, B. Simone and Justina Valentine joining us. Yes. When does the new season of Wild N' Out actually start? That's one thing I haven't heard all week.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Oh, it started a couple days ago. July 6th. Yeah, it was the premiere with Cat Williams. Yeah. Got you. Yep. Killed it. We had no clue.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Brought back a legend. Yeah. That's one thing that I never saw in the fine print. I thought we were Setting up for maybe Next week Cause it was supposed to Well
Starting point is 00:06:07 No Oh yeah no We started already Yeah So y'all tune in I saw all those clips I saw mad clips Of Cat Williams
Starting point is 00:06:12 On there I was actually Watching one yesterday Where he was Going back and forth With Nick Yeah he killed it Yeah he went nuts
Starting point is 00:06:17 On Nick Michael Blackson Just about everybody Yeah he did That seemed serious He said you're all In every movie Michael Blackson was like I don't like you.
Starting point is 00:06:26 I was like, ooh, Jesus. Yeah, he got a little serious. All right, well, let's get in some front page news. Good morning, Desmond Figaro.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Good morning, DJ Envy and the beautiful ladies in the house, V. Simone and Justina Valentine and my brother, Charlamagne. Good morning, honey.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Good morning. Let's jump right into it now. We've been seeing this all over your page, all over social media yesterday about a retired police officer that was robbed after he was lying dead in his driveway. What happened? Fill us in. Yeah, this is a lot.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Bear with me as we try to unpack this. There's been a lot of confusion on social media, so I'm going to try to put this together as fast as I can. As you mentioned, social media has been buzzing about the mysterious death of retired Memphis police officer Mark Leisure, who died Sunday, July 9th. Now, although Leisure said that the Memphis Police Department was top tier, he was very vocal and criticized about the training of the death, the training that resulted in the lack of training that resulted in the death of Tyrese Nichols and how officers needed more training. I want you to listen quickly to just one of the things that he said when he was on the television at local Fox 13 in February when they did a big investigation report. And then when we hear that, I'm going to come back and give you guys some more information.
Starting point is 00:07:36 There are people who are going to look at these numbers that I'm going to present and say they need more training. 500 hours is unacceptable. To those people, you say what? I'm putting you in a classroom for 19 weeks, but I'm putting you out here on the streets for a year. Okay, so he said a lot more. He talked about the Scorpion unit,
Starting point is 00:07:55 which was the unit that actually killed Tyrese Nichols and said that they pretty much had a pass to do whatever they wanted to do. So because he was very vocal about that, when he was found dead of course you know activists and social media influencers celebrities they immediately start saying that something was wrong with this and it wasn't adding up the reason why a dj is because the police department did not and the the mainstream media did not uh release a reason for his death so of course folks are saying something's you know not right about this we need need to look out, look into it. Now, one activist posted that he was shot in the driveway. That is what kind of created the confusion because an activist said shot found shot and dead.
Starting point is 00:08:32 So then the blogs immediately started picking that up, sharing the story, saying he was shot and killed. But again, at that time, no media had reported his death. Apparently they were working on an additional investigation. Now, this is the investigation that they were working on, which might be the reason sounds plausible to be the reason why they didn't release the death. Apparently they were working on an additional investigation. Now this is the investigation that they were working on, which might be the reason, sounds plausible to be the reason why they didn't release the death. So we fast forward, report comes out yesterday about a woman being charged with robbing leisure as he laid dead in the driveway. Let's listen to that report from ABC 24 and I'll give you some more information on the other side. A woman is in custody after police say she robbed a retired Memphis police officer after he was killed. According to the police report, Shante Daniels is charged with aggravated burglary and theft. Police say she was seen on surveillance video running into Mark Leisure's home on Falcon Drive. Police say she took his phone and wallet and later used it to send herself more than 1700
Starting point is 00:09:26 for shoes hair and more former sergeant mark leisure was found dead sunday morning outside of his home in westwood we are working to learn how leisure died okay just a little bit just a little bit more information and then we can discuss just bear me one second so shortly after daniels ran into the home i want to tell you what she said what happened uh the again the affidavit says that it was actually surveillance so there should be some type of tape um that we're able to see at one point in time that has not been released uh the tape the video they said you can hear that she says um she makes a phone call and says we're going to see who knows the law now once they arrested her she said that
Starting point is 00:10:03 her and leisure had an argument when they arrived to the law. Now, once they arrested her, she said that her and Leisure had an argument when they arrived to the house. He brought this young lady to his house. She demanded gas money. They went in the house. He came out with $10 in his hand to give her the money, and then he collapsed in the driveway. So, again, we should be able to see this on this alleged surveillance tape.
Starting point is 00:10:21 She also, again, you heard the report where she went in. She took money out of his pocket while he laid on the ground. And so that is what, you know, I wanted to lay all this story out so people can know why it's so confusing. I'm going to keep watching for more updates. I'm still confused. You're confused? What? What are you confused about?
Starting point is 00:10:38 So, what was this dealing with this young lady? We don't know. He had surveillance. He had surveillance. Apparently, no, no, no. What was this dealing with this young lady? We don't know. What do you mean surveillance? He had surveillance. It was some type of surveillance. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:10:50 No, I want to be clear. When they say surveillance video, it appears, and again, I'm just assuming, he had some type of video camera at his house. More than likely, probably like we all do. Oh, yeah, his own camera. When you said surveillance. Yeah, he had his own camera. That made it seem like they were watching him, and that's the surveillance. So he had his own footage of his camera. You know why everybody's confused?
Starting point is 00:11:04 Why? Because it's not human nature to just let things play out we can't wait for the facts especially with social media we have to speculate and assume and by the time the facts do come out nobody's gonna believe him because everybody already came to their own conclusions but she did not call the police when he passed out she went in his pocket took his money kept it moving or did she she she went in the pockets and it just says in the on the report it just says uh police received a call about a man down so i don't want to speculate because i'm just going by what they gave me but the bottom line is kind of the charlamagne's point everything hadn't rolled out yet and i do understand you know the question of being suspicious of a police
Starting point is 00:11:42 officer that came out against police officers and you know mysteriously found dead but really what confused this story was an activist saying found shot and dead and then folks just kind of ran with it when people speculate people assume and everybody want to be first on social media without knowing the fact well condolences
Starting point is 00:12:00 to that man rest in peace the reason they haven't probably uh said why he died because they probably don't know yet yeah and i had it simple yeah and i think a lot may again this is just allegedly speculation because the investigation was going on trying to find this lady who was on the tape you know if you if you put something out and say hey we got uh video surveillance of the lady who stole the money while they're still trying to find her that could have possibly interfered with the investigation again i worked on the tyree's nickels case i don't trust the police we all know that i'm always going to look
Starting point is 00:12:33 you know be looking side eye but i just think we need to wait on this to kind of see you know what comes out and see if that takes come comes out because we'll be able to see you know for ourselves how old was he um they i don't i don't say i didn't get that charlamagne i'll look at it he was older yeah he definitely was older because he was retired he retired in the military worked about 10 years in the military he did over 20 plus years uh in the uh at the police department as well they did find the lady though i believe they did right they did find her people are so so dumb, though, because there's cameras everywhere. You've got to live your life like you are filming every second. Because your phone is listening, too.
Starting point is 00:13:11 That's right. All right. Well, that is front page news. Tez will be joining us in a little bit. But now, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, phone lines are wide open. We have B. Simone, Justina Valentine joining us.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Of course, it's the 20th season of Wildin' Out, and they're representing. So don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. That chain, I mean, that's dope. Wake it up. This is your time to get it off your chest.

Starting point is 00:15:14 Like TK said, I got about 100 stacks in my bank. I'm a simple working cat. I'm down here in New Orleans. You need to come on down to the South. Oh, you're in New Orleans. Okay, yeah, okay. We could go out there to the French Quarter and all that. The cross, there's some crap.
Starting point is 00:15:27 All that, baby. You know, we could have done. I know, that's right, baby. I'm not eating no alligator, but it sounds like a point. It tastes like chicken. It does, yeah. Alligator tail tastes good. It tastes like chicken.
Starting point is 00:15:36 Well, French, you're not selling yourself good enough, brother. You have a good life. I know. I thought you did a great job. No, he did not. I mean, not bad. Yeah, thank you, son. Son of man, I got respect for you.

Starting point is 00:17:12 Charlemagne. Yes, sir. Uh-huh. All right, so listen to me on this right here before you comment. Reparation. They're giving us reparations in the word, the N-word. How about that? Bye.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Hang up on this guy. Thank you. Have a nice day. Yeah, that? Bye. Hang up on this guy. Thank you. Have a nice day. Man, that was quick. He said he wanted you to listen to him. He didn't even listen to him. He said listen to him before you even come in. He started that pitch off all wrong.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Hang up on this guy. Damn it, man. No, that's not what he said. He said reparations. They're giving us reparations with the N-word. I am not interested in nothing else he has to say after that. He just asked you for one thing. He just said just hear him out.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Sorry, whatever your name was, sir. Hello, who's this? Good morning. This is Obi-O-Ra. Hey, Obi-O-Ra. Get it off your chest, mama. No, no, no, no, no. It's Obi-O-Ma. Obi-O-Ma. Obi-O-Ma. Isn't that who women go to to get their vaginas checked? No, that's a guy in college.
Starting point is 00:17:59 That's the OB-GYN. OB-GYN. Stop playing. Okay, my fault. You know what, Charlamagne? You are just... Okay, so I just want to say, finally, I'm happy I finally got through. I love you guys. I love the ladies of... Wildin' Out.
Starting point is 00:18:17 Wildin' Out. I don't know. Thanks, OB. Yes. Yes. And yes, OB is fine. Also, I want to stress that we need to really support our HBCUs. I'm an HBCU mom.
Starting point is 00:18:31 What school? My daughter went to Clark Atlanta University. Okay, dope. And graduated. Okay. I graduated too. Don't act like I ain't here. I ain't graduated.
Starting point is 00:18:41 I graduated too. And I got an honorary doctorate. You're not paying for yours. You're not paying. You don't have to pay no student loans. I graduated too. And I got an honorary doctorate from South Carolina State. You don't have to pay no student loans, Charlemagne. I don't want to hear about it. I started a scholarship fund and endowment fund at my mother's alma mater. So I am supporting HBCUs
Starting point is 00:18:58 like you're telling us to do. So I got an honorary degree. Can I tell you about my organization? I have an organization called Watch Her Win. We are doing our first international event celebrating 50th anniversary of POP and I
Starting point is 00:19:13 started a scholarship in honor of my dad. I respect that. That's dope. Where can I donate? I respect it. So you can go to WatchHerWinwinnyork.org. Our IG page is watchherwinnyork. And there's a link for you to donate. And where are you based at?
Starting point is 00:19:34 And Johnny. Yes, ma'am. You should have volunteers for your mental health event. Oh, no. Yeah, you're right. It's October 7th here in New York. Yeah, that would give people access to really understand the business of what you're doing on the inside. So you can reach out to me.
Starting point is 00:19:51 I have a great network. I can get volunteers together for you. I'm looking at your Instagram right now. Where you based out of, mama? Where you based out of? New York. I'm in New York. I am from, Charlamagne, do not even play yourself.
Starting point is 00:20:03 I'm from the Bronx. Oh, boy. Oh, my God. Oh, Lord. The craziest people in I'm from the Bronx. Oh boy. Oh my God. Oh Lord. The craziest people in America come from the Bronx and all of Florida, but y'all are hard workers,
Starting point is 00:20:09 so we will. And the smartest. And the smartest. I don't know about that one, but you know what, Mama, September 16th, we're doing,
Starting point is 00:20:15 we're bringing the classic, the HBCU classic back to New York, because, you know, a lot of times in New York. I already know about that. Okay,
Starting point is 00:20:22 so we would love for you to pull up and, you know, maybe get, you maybe get some involved with your organization. Because we don't really have too much stuff about HBCUs in New York. Because the closest one is Lincoln. And then there's Morgan and Howard and Hampton and Virginia Union. So we're trying to do more stuff around this area so people can understand it. They can experience a little bit.
Starting point is 00:20:41 So we're inviting all the schools September 16th. I think it's Morehouse versus Albany State, but we would love to get you involved somehow, some way. I can't stay on hold. I can give my information. I have some inside information that I can't see on the radio, but I'm also working on the college fair
Starting point is 00:20:58 for the Bronx area. Okay. Hold on. I will get your numbers and then we can talk. Okay. Alright, hold on. I would also just like to say that the Black Effect and iHeartRadio and Nissan, we're doing our Thrill of Possibility Summit again this year. And that was a program that we designed to help HBCU scholars break into STEAM, which is science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Absolutely.

Starting point is 00:26:41 Listen to I Do Part 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to i do part two on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts everybody it's dj nv charlemagne the guy we are the breakfast club good morning now we're celebrating the 20th anniversary of while and now we have b simone and justina valentine joining us and let's get to the rumors Let's talk about this white female rapper Let's talk about it I mean, I guess we on The Breakfast Club This is where the tea spills, right? Yes, on The Breakfast Club
Starting point is 00:27:17 What we got, man? Well, we have this white female rapper That says she doesn't get the recognition she deserves As a rapper Because she's a white woman Iggy Azalea does't get the recognition she deserves as a rapper because she's a white woman. Iggy Azalea does not get the recognition she deserves. So wait wait I didn't say who it was. Oh that's a fact. And we have the audio Justina Valentine. Oh being a white chick that raps was really like just banging my head against the wall and I was always dope. I did touch like
Starting point is 00:27:44 a little bit of success but it wasn't what i wanted you know i just felt like i don't know the world just didn't want to hear a white trapping it's a lot of white guys it is a lot do you think that the industry and people in general discriminate against white female rappers i mean i can't speak for anybody but myself but if i had rapping the way i rap yes i do feel that i would have way more recognition being a white female rapping just wasn't it just you know i think you hold up that's from the uh we in miami podcast just you know i think you are absolutely correct when you said that i think the blogs took it out of context because they just said white rappers it is
Starting point is 00:28:18 absolutely true that white women rappers have never gotten uh proper recognition they've never been taken seriously in hip-hop. White women rappers specifically. And maybe there's never been one to be taken seriously so far. That's why they said, oh, do you think white female rappers are discriminated against? I said, baby, I can only speak for myself. I'm not talking for anyone else. But what I said was, before that clip, I shouted out the whole slew of female rappers that are killing it right now.
Starting point is 00:28:43 I said, I'm so happy for them. And what I said was, when I was rapping, now, Envy, you know, I know you for a long time. I used to live above the bar that you were DJing at. And I touched a little bit of success because my boy Fetty, Free Fetty, till it's backwards, jumped on a record with me. But being a white chick rapping, people didn't want to hear it for real, which I could respect. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:29:04 I never said I didn't get the hear it for real which i could respect that's fine i never said i didn't get the respect because i'm white i said because i'm not a guy because there are so many white rappers so that's what i said i said if i was a dude rapping the way i rap i mean even things that i've done i went up this way i'm the first female to ever spit a real freestyle and i don't mean a written freestyle that you piece together and fit to a beat. I mean completely off the top. I'm like one of five or seven rappers to ever do it. I'm the only female.
Starting point is 00:29:32 And it really, my fans appreciated it, but it didn't really get that recognition. I feel it would have got if I was Jack Harlow. If I was, and shout out to the guy because I like them too. I love MGK. It's not about that. I'm just, what I was saying is because I'm not a white guy. So I wasn't making it that old. Well, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:29:50 You're absolutely right. I know Justine a long time and she was always dead nice and she never got the opportunity. Well, why you didn't play her music? I did. He did, yeah. And you were playing in the club and stuff. Yeah, and he showed me Love You Up. Yeah, definitely did.
Starting point is 00:30:02 Charlamagne was like, you the reason. No, but I've known her for a long time and I've seen her grind. Let me show me love, y'all. That definitely did. Charlamagne was like, you the reason. But I've known her for a long time, and I've seen her grind. I've seen her waiting outside of the radio stations for DJs. I've seen her at the clubs for the DJs. I've seen her doing dope records, and she just never got the love, I think, because she is a white woman. White woman rappers have never, ever been taken seriously or gotten real recognition in hip-hop.
Starting point is 00:30:20 I know people will say Iggy, but Iggy had a few things going for her. Number one, she had T.I., and two, pop Radio jumped on Fancy and her single Black Lil Baby early. But other than that, there have been no others. Black Lil Baby? What was that song called? Black Widow. Oh, Black Widow. I thought you were saying Black Widow.
Starting point is 00:30:38 I thought you were saying Black Widow. I thought you were saying Black Widow. So for me, it was like when I got the opportunity to be on Wild N Out You should have been out of here. You said you wanted to say a widow. I think she was saying little. No. But she was saying widow. Widow. Black widow. Yes. The black widow. So for me, it was like when I got the opportunity to be on Wild N Out and I got my platform, I looked at it as such a blessing because you know, Envy, I was really grinded. I really had to cut my teeth and work very, very hard to get where I'm at. So when God blessed me with the TV opportunity, I took that and ran with it. And music kind of kind of became like fell to the side a little bit
Starting point is 00:31:05 So when people are in the comments like yeah, well, you know, I mean you can't just pop up and want to do music No, I've been doing music I got on while and out because of my music and because of my improv and freestyle ability Um, are you signing the cannon cuz you got the incredible? Yeah, I'm with Nick cannon incredible We just dropped a record called mouthouth Go Crazy. Pause. Yeah. No, it means exactly. No, no pause needed because it means exactly what you think. It means exactly.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Spitting the mouth just go crazy. Period. You didn't have to do the mouth thing. For the people at home. Let me tell you, first and foremost, you rap way better than Nick Cannon, if that means anything. Yo, shut up. Don't do Nick. Bruh.
Starting point is 00:31:41 Now, that's facts, though. Nick does have a hit, though. Let's not forget. Pick up and kill it and kill it and kill it. No, and gigolo. And in the classroom. What the hell is in the classroom? In the classroom.
Starting point is 00:31:51 You don't watch Wild It Out? In the classroom? No, I know pick up and kill it. In the classroom. In the classroom is kind of new. It's still a hit. Yeah, new edition. All right, well, let's move on.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Kiki Palmer. You're not going to let Justina spit no bars? She can't talk all that talk. Oh, please. She's going to be up here all day. I know. We got her. We'll get her to the show. You know, let's move on. Kiki Palmer. You're not going to let Justina spit no balls? She can't talk all that talk. Oh, please. She's going to be up here all day. I know. We got her. It's so easy to her.
Starting point is 00:32:08 You could just throw out words at her. She'll just go off. I'm always with whatever. You are so gifted. Nigga, go. Hey, that's one word that I can't say. Hey, you be Simone if I say get the pepper spray. Hey.
Starting point is 00:32:22 Because I don't want to get dismantled. I won't say it. I don't want to get dismantled i won't say it i don't want to get all right no it's really that simple all right well we got to talk kiki palma uh her boyfriend spoke out and this is what he said about their relationship and what he thought of her you know for us even even for you like how did you feel when we first were like okay we're gonna be a little bit public about a relationship yeah um at first it definitely was hard because it could all be very overwhelming it was definitely overwhelming and intense at first and it was and it's and it's like you almost feel that pressure of needing to just be perfect and so it can it really confused me and infiltrated my mind
Starting point is 00:33:05 because not only I had to hold myself to that perfect standard, I was also holding you to a perfect standard as well. So any moment of flaw on my side or on your side, it was World War III because it's like, man,
Starting point is 00:33:17 you know, we're not perfect. And now the world sees us. Exactly. Man, salute to that young man. That is a very healthy conversation they were having. So this was after? Before.
Starting point is 00:33:25 No, I think it was before. This was before. I just wish they weren't having that conversation in front of the world because all social media is going to do is minimize and dismiss that brother's feelings. And it's very whack that we tell men to express ourselves. You know, our therapists tell us to feel our feels. But then when brothers do it, especially publicly, they get shameful. You're soft.
Starting point is 00:33:41 You're a simp. You're a sucker. But do you feel like it could have been received better if like instead of him tweeting absolutely his feelings he could have just spoke to her about it and it could have been absolutely you know i don't even believe that was his real feelings i don't believe he cared about the outfit right i don't believe he cared about being the mom i think he's feeling so just hurt because of how he was up if usher's all up on your girl that's. He gonna let it burn and then it's over. But that's like a moment.
Starting point is 00:34:06 That's like a childhood dream to dance with Usher. If I'm married, you should let me have a dance. Hell no. If Beyonce comes, I'm like, go dance with Beyonce.
Starting point is 00:34:15 Go dance with Beyonce. I don't care if it's Usher or Raymond or Usher at the church. If your men's egos are fragile. Yes. All our egos are fragile. You can put your hand behind his head and start grinding. No. And she didn't do all that. Yes, All our egos are fragile. You can put your hand behind his head and start grinding.
Starting point is 00:34:25 No. And she didn't do all that. Yes, she did. But here's the thing. She's an entertainer. She did not grind on Usher's private part. Okay, she didn't grind on Usher's private part. No, if she was just a regular female.
Starting point is 00:34:34 If she was just a regular female and started grinding on Usher, then I could see. But Kiki is an entertainer. She does it. This is her living. This is her bread and butter. So she's going to give the people what they want. That's still my girl. That's my girl. That's my baby mama. She just going to bang them. Let me tell you something.
Starting point is 00:34:49 That's what I've seen. For a man, that's what he's seen. As a married man, there's a lot of stupid things I've done on this radio. You have. You know, being perverted, sniffing seats, whatever, whatever. And I used to say the same thing. It's all entertainment. And that was dope. It's not just all entertainment. People's feelings can still be hurt by things of that nature.
Starting point is 00:35:05 How does your wife feel when you flirt with me every morning? How does your wife feel when you flirt with me every morning? I asked you first. I asked you first. Actually, his wife said he liked it. Who's seat did you sit in? Ever since J-Lo, but don't worry about it. His wife said...
Starting point is 00:35:16 That kind of... Like, J-Lo, I would sniff her seat, too. Oh, my goodness. I would have licked it. I would have taken a step further. All right. You know what? When we come back, we got front page news. Can we keep Justina? Why? Because she said she would have licked it. I would have taken a step further. All right. You know what? When we come back, we got front page news.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Can we keep Justina? Why? Because she said she would have licked it? Shut up. I do lick right across the bridge. 585-1051. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Front page news is next. WWPR FMHD1 New York. And iHeart Radio Station. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ and the Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Now we have the ladies from Wild N' Out joining us.
Starting point is 00:35:48 B. Simone and Justina Valentine. Oh, yeah. And we have Tezlyn Figaro. Good morning, Tez. Good morning, DJ Envy. Good morning, the beautiful ladies. Good morning. B. Simone and Justina Valentine.
Starting point is 00:35:58 And, of course, Charlamagne. Peace, Tez. Now let's talk about this one dead, one arrested after a vehicle pedestrian crash. What happened with this? Yeah. Now, this is the brother that called in yesterday. You remember during get it off your chest. He said he was trying to reach us. Wasn't able to get my information. He mentioned he sent a DM to Charlemagne and I. So I posted a post yesterday asking him to reach out to me. He did respond. I looked up the story with his stepmom.
Starting point is 00:36:25 I want you to listen to the report by KXAN and Austin, and then I'll give you some more information on the other side. Police announced officers arrested a woman in connection to a deadly crash on Saturday. Police say Marina de la Rosa was driving an SUV when she hit a boat trailer parked on the road and then hit janica molina police said molina was walking on pecan brook drive across from lbj high school de la rosa faces intoxication manslaughter charges now that was a short clip uh but i want to reiterate uh that the family said she was standing outside uh checking her mailbox when the drunk driver was driving over the speed limit and killed her. And what I'm about to say is graphic, but it's important because I want you guys to know how this family has been impacted. Once she was.
Starting point is 00:37:19 She was drug about four houses down. Her family said we were going back and forth last night talking. Her family said it's probably going to be a closed casket um this sister leaves three small children 13 6 and 5 it it literally it makes me choke up to think about just beautiful family uh and the family's trying to cover the funeral costs guys so their goal is to get to 10 000 uh they're about halfway through to the goal um if people are interested in helping please look it up under go fund me her first name is spelled jay as in john a n i c i a melina um i also have it on my instagram page at tesla
Starting point is 00:37:57 figaro so if you can't find it go to my instagram page um there's more than one fundraiser so be sure guys to donate to the one that's organized by the sister, Tiana Molina. And I just want to give a special shout out to the stepson. You know, he sent, when I did see that he was in my hidden inbox, he had been trying to reach us for a minute. He called up here to the show. He was really, you know, working hard to advocate for a stepmom. And guys, really take a look at those pictures. Those kids are really adorable, and it's really sad that this young lady was you know done like this by a drunk i'm definitely gonna put some some money in it right now yeah how old was she she was a young woman um the report unfortunately it didn't give anything but one paragraph so um it didn't say
Starting point is 00:38:38 you know her age they also didn't put um her age on the gofundme so it didn't they didn't list any of that. But, you know, young woman, obviously, you know, having young kids like that, five years old. How old was the driver? How old was the driver? Was he a young kid? Was he a teen? Was he a young adult? This was a woman.
Starting point is 00:38:54 This was a woman. So, again, they only put a paragraph out because, again, they don't cover our stories like that in depth. So it doesn't say, you know, how old they are. But she looks, I mean, I don't want to guess, but she's definitely not young. Looks like somebody probably in her 30s, early 30s, somewhere around that age. And the crazy part. I know she's old enough to know better. That's right.
Starting point is 00:39:12 And the crazy part is she kept dragging, she kept driving. She was trying to, she got out the car and ran. And she, I believe she almost hit another house. I mean, she didn't just hit her and keep going. When you're under the influence, though, you're not in your right mind. That is very true, B. Simone. But that is not an excuse. No, it's not an excuse.
Starting point is 00:39:31 The reason that's not an excuse is to get behind the wheel. You've got to know better about drugs. There's so many other things. 2023, we've had so many campaigns, highways and highways, you know, don't drink and drive campaigns. You know not to drink and drive. It's over. It's not easy.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Not drinking and driving is making that decision while you're sober though yeah you get what i'm saying when you're drunk you're already out of your out of your mind so you have to make that decision while you're sober i'm not driving tonight yeah right lock her up again right lock her up for a long time like right people like that gotta get the book thrown at them. Absolutely. Yeah. And I don't know what her occupation was, but they did stress that she was hardworking.
Starting point is 00:40:09 One of her photos she had on some type of scrubs. So I'm not sure if she was in the medical industry or not, but I just know those kids are just adorable. This is just really,
Starting point is 00:40:18 really sad. I mean, they said literally she was ripped apart and I hate to be graphic in that way, but I want guys to know how impactful this is. We need to hear about this stuff to know one make better choices and you guys please help this family out there just trying to get um enough to cover the funeral so you're doing
Starting point is 00:40:34 something as simple as just walk into your mailbox to check your mail right my goodness all right well let's uh let's jump into this next story about the uh strict abortion bill that was passed last night. Jesus Christ. Yeah, one or two. Is there any happy time? I'm like at 6 a.m. I got to go back to my meditation corner. I know that's funny.
Starting point is 00:40:53 It's interesting you say that, B. Simone. And that's the thing. You know, with Front Page News, we have a cover of what's happening. I know. It's the one ten minutes of the four hours, you know, that we try to cover, you know, what's happening in the real world. So I'm sorry to be a downer. It's okay. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:41:08 You're just doing your job. We have to talk about the hard things. I get it. Yeah, we do. Now, this is what happened in the Iowa legislature. It was passed a bill on Tuesday that will ban nearly all abortions after roughly six weeks of pregnancy, severely cutting off access to women who are not able to have the procedure because most women don't even know they're pregnant until six weeks so this will prohibit abortions after cardiac activity is detected the doctors say that can happen around six weeks now the
Starting point is 00:41:36 arguments broke out between supporters and opponents of the bill it got really really heated so much that a state trooper had to break them up let's take a quick listen with that sound of light and I'll give you some more information. Get out of my face. My body, my truth. Don't touch me. I didn't touch you. I touched your skin.
Starting point is 00:41:52 I read this. Oh, man. Oh, God. It's special. It's special. I couldn't hear nothing. It sounded like a train station. Yeah, they were.
Starting point is 00:42:00 I couldn't hear that much as well. But the bottom line is it was a lot of screaming a lot of yelling they had that that was actually between um a priest and somebody else so the priest was you know in there where stuff got pretty pretty um aggressive but uh the thing about this is medical professionals are saying that it's misleading to say that there is an actual heartbeat because those early sounds could be electric pulses not necessarily a heartbeat so that is the big issue on this um also republican representative brad sherman he said that everyone is free not to have sex if they're not prepared to have a baby they shouldn't have sex if they're
Starting point is 00:42:36 that concerned about it he said he will stand by everyone's right to practice abstinence so i was you know really going through this and as we know this is happening all over the country so that's where we are on that oh this is dangerous six weeks is crazy you know because you like i know sometimes i forget when i get my period so i try to look in the calendar like when did i have that thing last 100 you know so like going two weeks over when you're supposed to get it that's i talked about that on my podcast i didn't know i had an abortion and mine was right at six weeks. That was like I made the deadline. That's when you found out?
Starting point is 00:43:09 Yeah. Wow. Yeah, that's what most people find out. So pretty much people are saying this is pretty much banning abortion, period, if you're going to put a six-week deadline on it. And just as FYI, it used to be up to 20 weeks in this state, and so now they bumped it down, Bumped it to six weeks. How long ago you had an abortion, B?
Starting point is 00:43:26 Or do you want to talk about it? No, I don't mind. Around 2019. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah, I talked about it on my podcast. No For Sure podcast.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Shout it out. Yeah. So yeah, I mean, I'm open about it and I feel like I made the best decision for me and I feel like not being able
Starting point is 00:43:43 to make that decision is going to be very dangerous for women. Because they're still going to make that decision. And the babies that they have that they didn't want. Oh, my God. You know, yeah, yeah. Now, like you said, I think women, if they want to make that decision, they're going to make it regardless. And if they can't do it the right way, in a safe way, it's going to go back to,
Starting point is 00:44:01 you remember when we were kids growing up and you would hear all these these women doing stuff with hangers on basements. Oh, my goodness. It's going to be it's going to be that. I mean, there's always a place you can go to get it, but people don't have the money to even travel. Right. Right. Right. Right. Yeah. But see, the thing is, this this legislation is going all over the country at some point. It may not be a place to get it, you know, but you're right, Charlemagne. In fact, the numbers show that there has been more outside travel as a result of this you know people trying to go for example you know oklahoma to texas or texas to you know another state or because again this legislation is happening all over
Starting point is 00:44:34 the country so where you know at some point probably california california new york probably the last two places you're gonna be able to go right right eventually all right well thanks for sharing be some all thank you for sharing that personal story. Appreciate that. And that is Front Page News. And make sure you follow Tezla Figueroa on Instagram and Twitter and subscribe to her podcast, Scrape Shot No Chase, on the Black Effect iHeartRadio podcast network. All right.
Starting point is 00:44:56 When we come back, we have the ladies from Survival of Thickest joining us. That is Garcelle Bouvet, Tasha Smith, and Michelle... How do I spell her last name? Michelle Boutot. Boutot. And we're going to kick it with them when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:45:18 Your mornings will never be the same. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy Charlamagne. The guy we are are The Breakfast Club. We got some special guests joining us this morning. They are from the Netflix show Survival of the Thickest. Yes. And we have, well, Natasha Smith.
Starting point is 00:45:32 Oh, my God. Jesus Christ, how is she doing? Good luck with this today, right? That's what I was trying to do in that way before the door closed. I didn't even say hello to Michelle or Garcelle. How do you guys feel? How you feeling? Tasha's in the room.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Tasha's here. I want y'all to know that Miss Tasha Smith is as loud as all the memes say she is. She is. I thought that my life was too dirty to talk about until I met the TKs and the Joes and the, you know, Eddie's. I love that. It's all part of it. You're so cool.
Starting point is 00:46:14 And you know. Yeah. No, when you find like a friend, just a really good friend in the business that gives you license to be who you are. Sometimes that's all we need. Like, we know we have that voice within us. Yes. But when you find someone who's also successful to be like, no, just do you. Because the more, you know, you infuse you, the better it is. Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:33 It's like priceless. And nobody tells you that because everybody wants to like not see you win. That's Michelle Buteau talking. Oh, hello. That's right. That's Michelle. Hi. I introduced and nobody heard, though.
Starting point is 00:46:43 I did introduce him. But you know, know that is something and that's why just to flip over to how incredible survival of the thickest is because that's right it's it's michelle's authentic self it's her heart her soul her experience and her giving herself the permission to be her and how diverse her life is and then she was able to just like create all these beautiful opportunities for us that's why I literally and she's funny as hell she's been funny
Starting point is 00:47:14 amazing and she ain't no hatin no you know how she's been listen she want everybody to be great I mean and it's such a blessing to support a black woman that's right that wrote the book wrote the show executive produced it starring in it if you can't but like just literally support and stand behind this woman and be there to hold her up, you dumb. That's all I got to say.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Oh, my God. Am I going to cry? I think so. I think so. How about Michelle? Is it overwhelming? It's overwhelming in all the right ways, right? So it's hard to describe something you've never been through before.
Starting point is 00:48:00 So getting married is a shared experience. Having kids. I could talk to people anywhere in the world about that but to be a plus size woman you know size 18 20 like not fit in any mold like you're too light you're too big you're not big enough whatever it is that i can't do for somebody just to just do me and know that it's gonna work out 20 some odd years later and to write a book and have that book optioned into eight beautiful episodes on one of the biggest platforms. And I'm going to like have this show drop in 190 countries.
Starting point is 00:48:31 I'm like, OK, let me do it. Let me just say this. Not only did she create do the whole thing and she put a crew together, a casting crew together like I've never seen. I mean, I've been in the industry for a long time. I have never seen a black female camera person. Ever.
Starting point is 00:48:49 I mean, she put such thought in who she brought together that it made it fun. You walked into the makeup and hair trailer and it was all of us. You know, we don't see that. We don't get that.
Starting point is 00:49:01 And she was intentional for doing that. And that says a lot. It's important to see that. You have to see to see yourself everywhere yeah i grew edges doing the show you know what i'm saying i mean yeah charlamagne you know some of these shows are from edges out i know he got both i know he got both you got y'all. You got fillers. You got good skin. Listen, because that skin is pretty and them cheeks is poppy.
Starting point is 00:49:29 Are you a vegan? Are you not eating meat? He just looks good. All he do is drink water. I do. Did you know you wanted Garcelle and Tasha to play on this? I mean, yes. They've always been on my mind, on my list, in my back pocket.
Starting point is 00:49:50 I'm like, if I ever get the chance, because I've been such a fan, and I love that they have this light. They walk into a room, and you can tell they just light up. You can tell that they have been through some shit. You can tell that that ain't going to phase them. You can tell that they also want to lift other women up and like i'm like when you see yourself in someone you should try to work with them and i know a lot of people get insecure or whatever it is whatever you're going through just check yourself because you know rooting for someone
Starting point is 00:50:17 else's success will never f**k up yours like we are definitely better and stronger together and so i mean garcelle you know i'll call her the haitian beyonce like she is the one you know like my dad's from haiti so like everyone's just like oh my god you guys like my family alone i'm just i can't even imagine and then just like tasha like for like just forget it just you know if you force of nature oh my god you combined all of our years together? A lot of the most forces in nature. Oh, my God. You know? So, yeah, I mean, I'm not here to do what everybody else does, to live in the likes, get somebody with a lot of followers, a new next hot thing. It's just like, you know, I need somebody true to this, you know? So I'm just so excited.
Starting point is 00:51:01 I just really want people to watch it and take away whatever they need. What are you hoping people get from it? I mean, it's a love letter to, to like the fatty baddies and oddie bodies like if you can't figure out how to love yourself i want to help you if you feel like how am i ever going to get into this size whatever you don't need to you are perfect the way you are you know we live our life just knowing that we are living in a world where we'll never live up to this unrealistic patriarchal standard of attraction. Like, you're never going to do that.
Starting point is 00:51:26 So just do you. You know, we have trans performers, non-binary royalty. If you are a parent that doesn't understand the language around non-binary, I'm here to help you. It starts with the culture, too. So I'm here for that. You know, if you are a black woman trying to figure out how to get her life together, you know, as you're approaching 40. You know, am I going to stay in this relationship? Am I going as you're approaching 40 you know am i gonna stay in this relationship am i gonna stay in this neighborhood am i gonna stay in this job you know i see something else for myself i want to help you see that for yourself
Starting point is 00:51:52 too also it's funny as you're gonna laugh along the way whoever needs something from it you know i think they'll get it i'll ask a question what matters more right diversity or if something is actually good. Oh, my God. Both. Yeah. Both. And, you know, there's a lot of basic stuff out there because the need for diversity trumps whether it's good or not. But, yeah, it's got to be good. I was going to ask, you know, with with everything talking about, it seems like they pick apart people. They pick apart their looks no matter what it is. The airlines said the other day, if you're over over a certain way they charge you for a second seat when you're doing a show like that how do you play into how the world looks at people and the world picks apart people all the time they've been doing it
Starting point is 00:52:32 since we've been born since you're a baby oh her thighs since you're eight years old don't give it too much since you're 12 look at them so it's nothing new you know to be sort of like in the gaze of everybody else but i knew i was beautiful but i didn you know, to be sort of like in the gaze of everybody else. But I knew I was beautiful, but I didn't know how to express it because no one allowed me to. And now that I have the vocabulary and I've been highly therapized to be like, no, this is me. This is my body is beautiful. It's always for me, at least like not us that needs to catch up to the world. It's the world that needs to catch up to us.
Starting point is 00:53:06 All right, we got more with Michelle Buteau, Tasha Smith, and Garcelle Bouvet. They're on the new show, Survival of the Thickest on Netflix now. We'll be back. Don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's EJ and the Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 00:53:19 We are The Breakfast Club. Now from the show, Survival of the Thickest on netflix we have michelle buteau tasha smith and garcelle bouvet i was gonna ask you know with when you talk about maybe she shouldn't eat no more i look at the thighs you know because i have six kids charlamagne has four for both of us have four daughters but we also i always try to instill positive into my daughter so my mom knows that so how were your parents when you were coming up you know it was a little bit of both you know like they really loved on me and supported me but then when we got in public it's like let's straighten your hair let's cover your freckles we're going to church don't stand up like that do this so like it was both and so i'm just like well which is it you know what i mean because
Starting point is 00:54:02 let's not play it safe my dad's from Haiti my mom's from Jamaica they came over in the late 60s to look for a better life can you imagine leaving everybody you know that was amazing food growing up I know that's good jerk chicken oh my god
Starting point is 00:54:20 yes that was amazing you know what's so interesting is that like this show has also inspired me to accept my beauty like listening to this conversation i feel like now at 52 i am just really starting to embrace my beauty and like for real like there was that glow i tell you but bro i didn't like internally it may have been something that was external but i wasn't the girl that walked away thinking oh i'm so fine you know what i mean like i always thought i was funny i felt like funny could get me in the door i never led with like feeling like oh i'm leading with beauty or sexy or any of that
Starting point is 00:55:06 i would get goofy anytime somebody would be thinking that i was attractive because i had this internal insecurity all the time and now that i'm older and now i'm at the 50s i don't give a what y'all think okay you know what i mean like i really love myself like i feel like more confident you know more clear about me about me as a woman i embrace my femininity you know and all of that like but i feel better than i've ever felt like even outside just now i was like saying your legs are so pretty talking to michelle she's like you know you saying, your legs are so pretty. Talking to Michelle. She's like, you know, you should wear your legs or whatever. I said, I have these varicose veins.
Starting point is 00:55:55 So I would never let my legs out because I had this thing about the varicose veins. And so she, Garcelle's like, wear it. You know, I said, you know what? Next time y'all see me, these legs are going to be out. You know what I'm saying? These legs. You know what I'm saying? He's kinky. He's kinky. me these legs are gonna be out how's it been with you being on reality tv right yeah your actress and you know people have known you for years but they didn't know the ins and outs of your life right your kids life it's so now everything is focused on you and your kids i'm sure you have people trolling your kids popping up at your kids it's hard let me tell
Starting point is 00:56:36 you i mean the one thing about i mean my first scene i'll call it at home with the cameras uh i was waiting for action and they were like no no no, no, no, just live your life. Because that's what I was used to. So now that people see a different side and they feel like a three-minute scene that they see on Housewives, they got me. And it's interesting because you're right. I can't hide behind a character. So now it's like, it's me, it's my kids.
Starting point is 00:57:01 And last year we went through this whole trolling of my son, Jax, which was horrible. So you got to take the good for the bad, you know, and that's part of it. Social media, people feel like they have. Do you regret it at all? Doing the show? Especially with them trolling your kids. That was the hardest part because those were my kids. They didn't sign up for it.
Starting point is 00:57:21 I signed up for it. But do I regret it? No, I don't have a lot of regrets because I feel like everything takes you where you're supposed to be. Now, everybody, of course, knows Jamie Foxx has been popping up. Have you spoke to Jamie at all?
Starting point is 00:57:32 I've been talking to Corinne and Dave Brown, but not to Jamie. But, you know, I love that man so much. I don't know who those people are. Corinne is his daughter. Oh, okay. His daughter and Dave Brown's one of his best friends, always with him.
Starting point is 00:57:43 Gotcha. So, you know, my prayers. He sent me prayer hands yesterday because of his best friends, always with him. Gotcha. So, you know, my prayers. He sent me prayer hands yesterday because we were talking about him on the show and just saying that, you know, who cares what social media or the public says. Exactly. He has to rehab on his own. Exactly. And when he wants to come out, he wants to come out.
Starting point is 00:57:54 And don't push him. And don't push him. Don't push him. And he sent us prayer hands. So I can't wait to see him back out working. Me too. I love that man so much. I want to ask you something, Michelle.
Starting point is 00:58:01 In the first episode, your character breaks up. Did you watch it? Well, the trailer in the first episode, your character breaks up. Did you watch it? Well, the trailer in the first episode. Oh, okay. That's honest. I like the honesty. Your character broke up
Starting point is 00:58:14 with a guy because he called him cheating. Yeah. Would you do that in real life? Like, you just would, nobody, you don't think people deserve a second chance? It depends.
Starting point is 00:58:22 I put this in the show because I have been cheated on and most of the women in because I have been cheated on. And most of the women in my family have been cheated on. And so my definition of what it looks like to really start over, especially within yourself, is coming from a place of that, being cheated on. And so, you know, it really depends. Everybody thinks they know what they're going to do until they're in that situation. And if you watch the rest of the series, and you don't have to watch it.
Starting point is 00:58:47 Just leave it on so I get the numbers. No more watching. But, you know, we go back in that relationship and try to figure out whether it is something that they should really break up over. Because you put a lot of time, you know six years your good years your childbearing years right you've like named your unborn children already like your parents love each other and they already see it for you you know what i mean like grandma already gave you her her engagement ring just hoping so it's like it takes a long time to actually break up with somebody you know even if you're not together and And so we explore that more in the show. And Glossel, you said it depends?
Starting point is 00:59:28 It depends. It depends if it's a mistake. We're human. We're going to make mistakes. But if it's a lifestyle, that's a different story. I mean, you got a whole other family. If that's what you do, then that's a problem. Is it a mistake? That's what I'm saying. If it's a
Starting point is 00:59:43 continual thing, if this is how you live your life, then that's a problem. What about you, Ms. Smith? Are you out? Oh, see, I'm just a realist. Okay. I mean, I don't think, I think that when you get a certain age, I feel like you communicate and you have real conversations. You know what I mean? And if you or your spouse may have an attraction towards someone else, you can have the conversation to be able to talk about it.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Most of the time, women know the men they married or they're dating. So most of the time, if someone is cheating, it's not that big of a surprise because you kind of know to me, even if you want to look the other way you have an idea you have a feeling in your spirit you know you don't wear that fragrance you know you don't smell like that when he bring his ass home i know how i smell you know what i mean and i know what he wore when he left out the house you know you have an idea you know and i feel it's an individual choice and a decision and i feel that people an individual choice and a decision. And I feel that people have the right to do what they choose in their relationship.
Starting point is 01:00:50 That's where I'm at. You think some women think they can change a man when they marry? I do. I do. I think they think they can. Yeah. But they can't. And why would you even try?
Starting point is 01:00:58 Don't do that. Like, no. Like, if anything, you'd be better off having a conversation with them. Or a job where you're actually getting paid for all that work. And maybe just trying to understand what is the thing that inspires him to want to go out and do that. Like, let's talk about that, because most of the time is something outside of I just want some. I mean, at the end of the day, isn't pussy pussy? TK could probably talk. No, let me stop.
Starting point is 01:01:27 No, but like at the end. TK's like, we had so many jokes back in the day, okay? But you could say it's ego. But it's okay. So then if it's ego, let's talk about the ego then. But that's therapy. Right? And he has to be willing to do that. And I think most of the time, like, I think that we could blame it on the action, but not look at the heart and the core and the root. Right. As to why we're seeing the fruit of cheating all the time. You follow what I'm saying? And a lot of times people get upset and get angry instead of really sitting down and having a conversation.
Starting point is 01:02:05 And if the man was honest enough with himself to own it, if he really wants to do different and do better in the relationship, then he will go to therapy. I believe in therapy. I will not move. We got more with Michelle Buteau, Tasha Smith and Garcelle Bouvet. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary?
Starting point is 01:02:28 Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it.
Starting point is 01:02:40 I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I trade my country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh, my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help!
Starting point is 01:03:06 We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. Actually, I think I finally got it right. So take the failures I've had the second or even third or whatever, maybe the fourth time around. I'm Jenny Garth.
Starting point is 01:06:41 29 years ago, Kelly Taylor said these words, I choose me. She made her choice. She chose herself. When it comes to love, choose you first. Hi, everyone. I'm Amy Robach. And I'm TJ Holmes.
Starting point is 01:06:54 And we are, well, not necessarily relationship experts. If you're ready to dive back into the dating pool and find lasting love, finally, we want to help. Listen to I Do Part 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy Charlemagne, the guy we are, The Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with Michelle Boutot, Tasha Smith, and Garcelle Bouvet
Starting point is 01:07:21 from the show Survival of the Thickest on Netflix now. Charlemagne? In the first episode too though, you did break up with the guy but y'all worked together. So that's a whole other dynamic. You break up with a person so professionally you do that. Personally y'all done but professionally y'all still gotta see him every day.
Starting point is 01:07:37 No, it's not. She chose something else but see that's the thing I want to explore. What does it look like when you really intertwine your lives like that? And I see a lot of people doing that on social media, whether it's a podcast or whatever. It's just like, do you really want to connect yourself to this person like this? Because when you break up, it's going to be very messy. Also, don't you want something for your own?
Starting point is 01:07:57 And when one person becomes more successful and they have more choices like he did, you know, then it's going to be different. But like Tasha was saying, you have to talk about it. A lot of people don't talk. They're just like, what's for dinner? I had fish today, so let's have chicken tonight. And there's so much more than that. And can I just say, I mean, I just want to pour into these ladies for two whole seconds. Because, you know, I'm just
Starting point is 01:08:18 a big fricking face that does jokes. I'm just like happy to be here, right? I'm just happy to pay my rent. I'm happy that my husband and I still love each other. I'm happy that my husband and I still love each other. I'm happy that my kids are healthy. But for them to leave their homes and their own toilets and good beds. And great bathrooms. And grand pianos.
Starting point is 01:08:35 And freshly renovated homes. Talk that to them. You know, to come and just hang with me and my crew. And just do this silly little important important show and not even know. And then like even just the allyship alone, because Tasha's character is named Marley and she is newly bisexual, fresh out of divorce, rich. You know, just really kind of newly bisexual sound crazy. And she has a little three.. I had to call my twin. I was like, shit, what's this like? Shout out to Cedric.
Starting point is 01:09:14 Shout out to Cedric. No, because I've never kissed a girl before. So I was like, how is it? You've never kissed a girl? You in Hollywood? I I never kissed a girl. I mean, literally, I've never had a threesome. So it was an experience. I was like, this is different.
Starting point is 01:09:31 Okay. I know. In the scene, I was like, go, go, go. Yeah. If you could just move your hips more this way, we could definitely. I was like, are we all going to kiss together? Like, does it get messy when people really do threesomes? Oh, triple kisses is too much.
Starting point is 01:09:44 Don't do that. much don't do that i don't know i was just like i mean i think that's probably why i've never done one because it seems so messy well also like if you're into producing well you're a good director you could do it but listen yeah but what i want to say too is i'll direct the threesome You always have to. That's porn, Tasha. You always have to. That's porn. I mean, it's art. It's very, it's artful. But, you know, Tasha posted a picture of her in an intimate scene with the girl that she's kissing. And the homophobia was alive and well in the comment section.
Starting point is 01:10:19 Outrageous. And still, like, alive and well. I couldn't believe it. I had to call and check in on her like are you okay because now you're putting yourself out there in a way that i was like i'm used to but i'm like it was so great you say it i mean are you kidding who made me the poster child for a straight woman and most of these people that have had threesomes that i actually had right y'all out there living your best life and i can't even act.
Starting point is 01:10:46 That's right. What were they saying? Like, oh, y'all pushing an agenda? Yeah. Yeah. Hollywood's agenda. Yes. We get that every morning.
Starting point is 01:10:52 Which I think is hilarious. It's wild. And I love telling her story. Like, I mean, that's what I love about this show is that we have so many parts of life that we get a chance to talk about and this woman that's in her 50s or 40s or however old marley okay but she's exploring her life and love and relationship and i think it's a beautiful thing and i think she's very courageous and wonderful and having a good time doing it and it's a whole lot of women out there that are marley's and her story has the right to be told and i'm grateful that i get a chance to do that
Starting point is 01:11:33 as an actor i was directing so much i literally prayed i said i'm gonna start saying no to jobs like directing jobs because i don't want to like my actor is starting to get jealous right and then Michelle came it was like a dream it was a dream I wanted to get back in front of the camera so bad I get to work with this Queen and I get to tell Marley story I am just so blessed I don't know what to do people love you the director though because they feel like you not feel like you do support so many other black people
Starting point is 01:12:10 so many other black people empower so many other black people even behind the scenes so that's why they love you as a director I gotta ask about Bad Boys 4 about Bad Boys 4 is that I am actually I am thank you yes we have and we are having a blast Is that I am, actually. I am. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:12:26 Yes, we have. And we are having a blast. A blast. So are the writers going to act this crack? Well, right now we're on hold a little bit. But we have shot a lot. We've shot a lot of the movie. And it's fun.
Starting point is 01:12:40 That's why they're rushing for a promotion. Because if the actors crack, y'all can't promote. Can you believe that, y'all? promote but you know what if it's supposed to happen it will and it will be for the best well thank you for joining us the next come back up and charlotte can i just say that i love both of you and thank you so much like y'all are always so such a blessing and so supportive to all of us like every time we have something we need to talk about promote anything i just really appreciate y'all and i don't know if i ever got a chance to tell y'all that oh come on this is your platform this is where y'all can come up at any
Starting point is 01:13:16 time y'all in town you can give us a call and we appreciate you guys appreciate everything that you guys are doing out there thank you can i buy bracelet? Are they for sale? What's up with the bracelets? You got some batteries I can buy for you? What's going on? You got some bodies? What's going on? Can I get a two for five? My daughter made me a bracelet and she was crying when I got home because I took it off.
Starting point is 01:13:38 I have the bracelets and she makes them and she was like, Dad, I want to sell them. So I brought them up here and the staff has bought bracelets. Everybody but Charlemagne. There's no call. There's no call. She just turned 10. She's a young entrepreneur.
Starting point is 01:13:54 She's a young entrepreneur. Yes. I bought one. I bought one, too. I bought one, too. Do you have that model? They are. Her being trained up.
Starting point is 01:14:02 I think that is hilarious. I can't imagine. That's expensive. He said no. Yes. How much are the bracelets? They are $4. That's it? Yes, that is it.
Starting point is 01:14:14 $4. Damn it. We should buy some bracelets. That little girl got a trust point already. I know, right? You feel me? She got real estate. You're going to be happy.
Starting point is 01:14:22 You're going to be so about it. I love it. I love it. You see that? I love it. She got a trust fund. I love it. I love it. You see that, okay? I love it. See? That's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:14:29 I love it. Look at that. That's what real support looks like. No, it don't. Oh, my God. And my friend over there will not support. Oh, my goodness. He didn't put a cause behind it, okay?
Starting point is 01:14:41 Ain't even no story to it. There you go. Oh, my God. Well, we appreciate you guys. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Thank you. What's happening?
Starting point is 01:14:48 Morning, everybody. It's D-E-J-N-V, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Now, we're celebrating 20th anniversary of Wild N' Out. So, we have B. Simone and Justina Valentine here. Yes. And let's get to the rumors. Rumor has it.
Starting point is 01:15:02 Rumor. Rumor has it. Call out a name or you gossiping or you chatty patty. I'm gossiping. This is the rumor report. I mean, I guess we on The Breakfast Club. This is where the tea spills, right? Right.
Starting point is 01:15:12 On The Breakfast Club. Now, last night was the 2023 ESPYs. They did it out in L.A. Did any of you guys watch it at all? I just seen the clip. Like I saw when Lebron won and um you know savannah was up there with the daughter that was so cute i just saw that little clip let's play that clip uh lebron james's wife uh was giving him an award and his whole family was
Starting point is 01:15:37 up there and she was talking about her bae as the espy's honor leBron for breaking the NBA's all-time scoring record, I decided I wanted to tell you what I think. I think LeBron James is the baddest mother... So cute. That's on me. I think LeBron James is the baddest to ever set foot on a basketball court. Nobody works harder, Nobody cares more. And nobody has done more for the game of basketball than LeBron James. Let me tell you something, man.
Starting point is 01:16:10 Out of all of LeBron's accomplishments, out of all of the money he has, his biggest flex is his beautiful black family. His family. That is the ultimate flex for a black man is to have a beautiful black family, a beautiful black wife, you know, beautiful black kids, you know, because black love is the revolution. You already know. And they've been together so long.
Starting point is 01:16:29 Which is so dope. And she's so freaking beautiful. So gorgeous. I love Savannah. Now LeBron James also talks about will he be returning to the NBA? When the season ended, I said I wasn't sure if I was going to keep playing. And I know a lot of experts told you guys what I said, but I'm here now speaking for myself.
Starting point is 01:16:48 In that moment, I'm asking myself if I can still play without cheating the game. Can I give everything to the game still? Truth is, I've been asking myself this question at the end of the season for a couple years now. I just never openly talked about it. I don't care how many more points I score or what I can or cannot do on the floor. The real question for me is, can I play without cheating this game? The day I can't give the game everything on the floor
Starting point is 01:17:11 is the day I'll be done. Lucky for you guys, that day is not today. All right. They clapping and cheering like they really thought LeBron James was going to retire. No, he wasn't going to. No, he was just trying to take attention away from the fact that the Nuggets swept him. That's all.
Starting point is 01:17:28 Stop. He's still the GOAT, though. He's a GOAT. He's not the GOAT. Yeah, he's a GOAT. He's not the GOAT. Michael Jeffrey Jordan. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:35 Jordan, but also LeBron, too. For this generation, for sure. He is a GOAT. He is that. He is a GOAT. And this generation is up for discussion as well. Because there's a little beige boy in Golden State named Steph Curry. All right?
Starting point is 01:17:49 Who's got four rings and he's beaten LeBron James three times in NBA Finals. Just want to put that out there. I mean, he's fired as well. Who has the most points in history? This is a conversation. It's LeBron James. LeBron James. Yeah, he just got it.
Starting point is 01:17:58 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had the most points in history for years. Ain't none of y'all ever said he was the GOAT. I don't know nothing about sports. What makes you the GOAT? Just being the best, like, well-rounded. See, the thing about Kareem, we're not going to have
Starting point is 01:18:09 this conversation now, but the thing about Kareem is we didn't actually get a chance to really see Kareem play. You know what I mean? It wasn't really our generation, so I'm sure my father's probably like,
Starting point is 01:18:18 Kareem is the GOAT. There's plenty of people that say, yes, that is true. All right, well, we also got to talk about Patrick Mahomes. He won Best Athlete. He spoke as well.
Starting point is 01:18:26 I remember growing up watching the ESPYs and seeing a lot of great athletes win awards. And to be on this stage winning this award is a tremendous honor. But it all wouldn't be possible without God. So I want to thank him first. I truly believe that. It was an incredible season. I appreciate my teammates, my coaches, the guys that I meet. He's probably thanking both.
Starting point is 01:18:44 All that hard work. I'm not in the building. You are supporting me and making me the guy that I am, the man that I am. So I want to thank them. And finally, Chiefs Kingdom. So this is a great award, but we're going to do this thing again. We're going to keep this thing rolling. Congratulations, Patrick Mahomes.
Starting point is 01:19:02 Who is that? He just won the Super Bowl. The quarterback. He's the quarterback. He's white? No, he's Patrick Mahomes. Who is that? He just won the Super Bowl. The quarterback. He's the quarterback. He's white? No. Biracial. Oh.
Starting point is 01:19:08 He's black and white. You do not watch sports. Not at all. He's white. I'm like, is he cute? What's his number? He's black and white. Because if he's fine, I probably know him.
Starting point is 01:19:15 I think he's married. I think he's married. I said if he was fine, I probably know him. I ain't got nothing to do with Mary tonight. And that's why I'm not going to discuss sports with y'all I don't know who these people is Now we also got a salute to Jay-Z He was nominated for an Emmy For the Super Bowl halftime show
Starting point is 01:19:32 That was Rihanna of course He put that thing together So he's nominated for an Emmy Some of the other people that are nominated Kiki Palmer, Cheryl Lee Ralph, Dominique Fishback Just a host of honors Now this year's ceremony is going to happen Monday
Starting point is 01:19:45 the 18th of September at 8pm I don't know what they're going to do as far as a host because last night the ESPYs didn't have a host
Starting point is 01:19:51 because of the strike in Hollywood that'll be Jay-Z's second Emmy if they win because Dr. Dre and Snoop them won
Starting point is 01:19:57 if I'm not mistaken and that is your rumor report now Sheldon man who you giving that donkey to? man you know this is our first week back from vacation, man. And I wanted to do this donkey, but we were off.
Starting point is 01:20:10 But we need Google to come to the front of the congregation. We need to have a word with them because they had a mix-up between Lufa Vandross and Master P. And we need to discuss. No. We need to discuss. All right. We'll get into that next. So don't move.
Starting point is 01:20:21 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Charlemagne, say the game. Don't get out of shape that next. So don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Come on. Charlamagne say the game. Don't get out of shape, man. You are a donkey. It's time for Donkey of the Day. Donkey of the Day does not discriminate. I might not have the song of the day, but I got the Donkey of the Day.
Starting point is 01:20:37 So if you ever feel I need to be a donkey, man, hit it with the heat. It's the Breakfast Club, bitches. Who's Donkey of the Day today? Well, Donkey of the Day for Thursday july 13th goes to google now this is our first week back from vacation so i wanted to give google donkey of the day when i first saw this but we weren't here now let's be clear google gets things wrong all the time okay especially when it comes to black people all right number one the celebrity net worth just false completely fabricated any number you see i promise is complete nonsense rubbish malarkey first of all uh all our net worths are priceless right you can't
Starting point is 01:21:10 put a dollar amount on any of god's creations and two i don't have that kind of money all right stop but more so than that more so than the money what i worry about is there's a generation of people who are really not going to know the true history of folks who have made significant contributions to the arts because of google's misinformation and see when we were away there was a mix-up between master p and lucy vandross anybody see that that's crazy when you search luther vandross on google masterpiece picture came up i can't make this kind of stuff up let's listen to masterpiece thoughts on it you don't have masterpiece thoughts okay jesus christ those were thoughts yeah no oh well mix-ups like that are the reason black people are obligated i mean uh required okay i'm
Starting point is 01:21:53 talking we should be committed to not knowing who famous white people are all right i do it all the time i act like i don't know the difference between taylor swift and ariana grande purposely okay when you hear a classic throwback like Complicated by Avril Lavigne, you got to turn to a white person and say, man, this is one of my favorite Britney Spears songs. OK, listen to me. You have to do it because, you know, at some point they're going to disrespect us. I love acting like I don't know who's in the Beatles. If a white person asked me who's in the Beatles, I say Elton John. I say Sting. I say Paul McCartney. I say Machine Gun Kelly. I do it on purpose because if you don't care enough to do your due diligence and get black legends correct,
Starting point is 01:22:28 then why should I act like I know what the hell is going on with white legends? And that's word to the first president of the United States of America, George W. Bush. Now, let me also say Jamie Foxx and Colin Firth, I believe his name is, who I will not purposely mix up with Colin Farrell because I love what they're doing. They, along with Sony Pictures, are doing a documentary on the legendary Luthor Vandross. Drop on the clues bombs for Jamie Foxx and Colin Firth for doing that. Because any word you use for great in regards to Luthor Vandross is an understatement. So he deserves all his flowers.
Starting point is 01:22:58 I don't care what synonym you have for great. You know, you can look in the thesaurus. Don't matter if you're talking Big Luther or Skinny Luther. that man's voice is anointed okay dance with my father here and now if only for one night phenomenal phenomenal tunes do we have the math for the audio yet no still don't have well i agree with you i think all those white folk look alike i look in the mirror sometimes i'm like am i me am me? Jesus. Am I Jeffree Star? Who am I? No, they say that to me. I want to know. You do look like Jeffree Star.
Starting point is 01:23:26 And I hate that people say that. And it's not like that, but it's just like, yeah. Y'all do not all look alike. What if somebody told you you look like Young Jock or something? You don't want to be told you look like a dude. No, I'm just saying, what girl wants to be told they look like? That is true. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:23:40 The guy is cute. But we do all look alike. I agree. But I will say, with all the praise I just gave Luthor Vandross, he ain't no Percy Miller. Okay, Luthor Vandross made close eye get to you,
Starting point is 01:23:52 but he ain't never made make him say yeah. Make him say yeah. You see? Luthor Vandross, Luthor Vandross made if this world was mine, but he ain't never made
Starting point is 01:24:01 an ice cream man. Oh my God. Luthor made never too much, but he ain't never made a no limit soldier. Y', my God. Luther made never too much, but he ain't never made a No Limit Soju. Y'all stay disrespecting Percy Miller, and I'm sick of it. Big Lufa Vandross ate a lot of cereal. Master P owns his own cereal. Okay, there's differences.
Starting point is 01:24:15 There's levels. Let's talk about it. And I got $100 in somebody's cash app right now if they can get me an AI version of Master P singing Lufa Vandross, Power of Love. And I got another $100 if you can get me an AI version of Lufa Vandross singing I Miss My Homies. That's the only way to settle this. Okay, the moral of the story is there's never a reason to not know who Master P is. And there's never a reason to not know who Lufa Vandross is,
Starting point is 01:24:37 especially when your Google and your alleged mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Okay, when a search is supposed to make it easy to discover a broad range of information from a wide variety of sources that is what google is supposed to do i don't know who they source to see what lufa vandross looks like but that source got our beautiful black musical culture effed up please let ramima give google the biggest hee-haw. Hee-haw. Hee-haw. You stupid mother f***er.
Starting point is 01:25:08 You dumb. That's right. I love her. I love Remy. How can you not? And who's in the Beatles? Elton John, Sting,
Starting point is 01:25:15 Paul McCartney, and Machine Gun Kelly. Okay. You forgot Ringo. Who is that? The one who got forgotten, I think. Like the Ringo Starr, they're always like, that's the one who... Ringo is Who is that? The one who got forgotten, I think. The Ringo Starr, they're always like, that's the one who...
Starting point is 01:25:27 Ringo is Bluey's sister. Who? You don't know who Bluey is? Wow. I really don't know white history. Beyonce and Jay-Z's daughter, Blue? Oh. Bluey.
Starting point is 01:25:39 Oh, I don't know. Mom! You ain't got no kids. You be lying. Oh, Bluey's clues? Bluey's clues? I'm lost. Wow.
Starting point is 01:25:46 Now you're getting the white dolls mixed up. Blue's Clues and Blue, you're not the same person. Okay? Baby Shark? I have no idea what you're talking about. Cocoa Melon? Gracie's Corner? Yeah. Y'all need to be playing Gracie's Corner. Gracie's Corner? I don't know what that is.
Starting point is 01:26:04 What? It's a black Y'all need to be playing Gracie's Corner. Gracie's Corner. I don't know what that is. What? I can do what it says. Gracie's Corner. It's a black girl that does all the alphabets and stuff. I know Tabitha. Tabitha Brown? Yep.
Starting point is 01:26:14 Yeah. Gracie's Seven. Oh, okay. All right. Well, thank you for that donkey of the day. BET. Say peace to BET.
Starting point is 01:26:21 BET, we'll see you tomorrow. Y'all don't want to say goodbye to BET? Oh, bye, y'all. Thank y'all for having us. Bye, BET. BET, we'll see you tomorrow. Y'all don't want to say goodbye to BET? Oh, bye, y'all. Thank y'all for having us. Bye, BET. All right. Everybody else, 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 01:26:35 We were talking earlier about Keke Palmer's boyfriend and him expressing his feelings, right? We want to open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051. He expressed his feelings. People made fun of him. They said he was too sensitive. They said that he was acting like a sucker and all these other things. So we want to ask.
Starting point is 01:26:49 I think he's wrong. There's a certain way to articulate your feelings, whether you're male or female. But I think there has to be emotional intelligence and maturity, too. You're right. And this is why we're going to have this conversation, because I want to know, is it even worth it for men to express their feelings publicly? Because everything you're saying, B. Simone, is right. but how come we can't have that conversation? Why do people just automatically go to oh he's insecure he's a sucker. I don't think that's right either
Starting point is 01:27:12 they shouldn't have attacked him. Let him communicate his feelings and if he didn't communicate his feelings right then let's show him how to communicate his feelings. I agree. Well let's talk about it when we come back. 800-585-1051 we'll take your calls as well as The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:27:29 Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. If you're just joining us, we're celebrating the 20th anniversary of Wild N' Out. You could take your headphones off, guys. You could take your headphones off. I'm sorry. We should have told you that.
Starting point is 01:27:42 We're listening to something like, we're like, no headphones. We're kind of music. Yeah, it's our first day. We're celebrating the 20th anniversary of Wildin' Out and we have B. Simone
Starting point is 01:27:50 and Justina Valentine. We are this morning and we're asking 800-585-1051. Can men show weakness? Can they show vulnerability? Can they be open and free
Starting point is 01:28:02 with their feelings without making like a sucker? A whim can, but is it worth it? It's probably not. It is worth it if you do it the right way talk to us. You can't do it on first of all the internet is never going to be a place where hundreds
Starting point is 01:28:15 and thousands of people aren't going to attack somebody and have opinions. That's right. So at the end of the day if I'm putting something on the internet I have to know that that's going to happen. Yeah and you have to be fine with it but i know one thing for sure and two things for certain my man better let me bust it open on drake or whomever like and he better not say nothing about my outfit forget usher i want drake i mean my man better let me bust it open on future yeah like i mean why do y'all think a man should just be okay with that i love you you're my woman if i've
Starting point is 01:28:43 committed to you in that way like say like say we're married uh you know you we got children together why can't my feelings be hurt if i see you busting it open on anybody i think it can be if she's not like in the entertainment space but again kiki is an entertainer she has eyes on her this is why usher picked her out of the crowd to dance with her because she is who she is so that's why i think she gets a free pass but she has a man though too she has a baby she's in a relationship with she didn't bang them she just like but y'all do know that it's all entertainment thing is not a valid excuse and guess what well then i need you know we in this industry we used to take our we were told not to wear our wedding rings and then act like we weren't married back in the day
Starting point is 01:29:22 yeah back in the day yeah don't you think that wouldn't hurt a wife's feelings? Of course. If he really was upset about that, that's something you should know about your partner before you get in front of Usher. That's true. I want to take it out of the Usher and Kiki thing. I just want to say, man, we got so many men in therapy,
Starting point is 01:29:39 so many men doing the work, but men always get so much flack for not expressing their emotions, not expressing their feelings. But when they do, they get called insecure, suckers and punks and you know he's not on her level he's jealous of her success how about some men are just in love and trying to figure it out yeah but they be jealous though too especially like no i'm just saying like it could it could be and it could be a little bit of both it could be a little bit of um jealousness and a little bit because you love her to be a little jealous of jealousness and a little bit because you love her. And I want my man to be a little jealous of me.
Starting point is 01:30:05 Yeah. Yeah. You know that. I'm in love and my feelings hurt because you busting it open on somebody else. See, but the thing is
Starting point is 01:30:10 if you guys had men and you broke up with your man and you put on Instagram or social media I broke up with my man I'm not feeling good it's not right
Starting point is 01:30:17 y'all wouldn't get hateful comments. You would get a lot of people supporting you. That's true. It's all good. It's going to be okay, girl. It's going to be okay.
Starting point is 01:30:23 You'll get through it. Now, if me and Charlamagne put on there I just just broke up with my girl like man man up you're gonna go to a client and we know it's double standards for everything but when women express their emotions and feelings we're told we should listen regardless of where they express them but when men do it we we suckers and we insecure that's not right man and y'all gonna make it the way men aren't gonna want to express their emotions publicly and that's dangerous because men expressing themselves publicly is how other men will learn how to publicly express their emotions even look at look my situation in my book i wrote a book about me and my wife's relationship we've been together 29 years 30
Starting point is 01:30:55 years and i talked about in early on i couldn't make her orgasm i didn't know we were 16 and 15 there were memes they made fun of me but it was me expressing how i was now if I was a very sensitive person which I am I would be like when I write the next one like I put nothing else out there because me trying to express myself open the door because there was so many men they let's be clear let's go the same way and I went through the same thing yeah I was scared to say what he's trying to get sympathy right now nobody shamed him because he expressed his feelings and emotions we shamed him because he ain't know how to work the middle yeah that's why we were saying it's the same shame right aamed him because he didn't know how to work the middle. That's why we were shaming him. It's the same shame.
Starting point is 01:31:25 Well, it's a lot of guys who probably don't know how to work it. And 15. And 16. That's what we were shaming you for. But if you don't know, you can't fix it. You didn't know, right? Exactly. It was 16 when I was 16 years old.
Starting point is 01:31:35 She was at least faking it. Huh? She was at least faking it, right? Yeah. That's how it came out. So it was 16, but I used to watch porn, so I thought sex was bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, done. For sure.
Starting point is 01:31:43 But you had to learn. There was nobody to tell me or teach me. So, yes, I did it so people could learn and have those conversations and make fun of me. First of all, everybody read that book and was like, I've been making women orgasm. Okay, you the one that ain't doing your job. See, make it fun of me. Well, God bless your wife. I had my first orgasm this year, so you ain't the only one that ain't doing nothing in the bedroom.
Starting point is 01:32:01 I'm 33 and had my first orgasm this year. Yeah, that's crazy, B. But you weren't having sex with one person for 10 years. Yeah. You know what I'm 33 and had my first orgasm this year. Yeah, that's crazy, B. But you weren't having sex with one person for 10 years. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. She was having an orgasm with my mouth,
Starting point is 01:32:11 not with my penis. That's the thing. Oh, that's it. I was going to say, she really loved you, though, because she stood by your side with no orgasms from sex and wanted to make you feel good
Starting point is 01:32:20 like she was. So she, you know. But that's the problem, too. Ladies, ladies, you got to speak up. I feel good. No, it's true. She's she's a real writer you gotta speak up it's not the man's fault if you don't know if you ain't telling him nothing he keep telling this lie about how he was making her do it with his mouth i did she was peeing on you bro she was peeing all in your face I am not clowning.
Starting point is 01:32:49 I love the fact that you express your feelings. No, you don't. This has nothing to do with you expressing your feelings. You did not make your woman orgasm for 10 years. That's what we're talking about. We're not talking about you expressing your feelings. That's you, Dan. No, I'm not.
Starting point is 01:33:01 That's me expressing my feelings. I'm not once if I said you wrong for expressing your feelings. I'm saying you wrong for not making her orgasm for 10 years. Let's your dad. No, I'm not. That's me expressing my feelings. I'm not one to have said you wrong for expressing your feelings. I'm saying you wrong for not making her orgasm for 10 years. So wait. The first time she actually really orgasm was she like, oh my gosh, babe, I've been lying for a decade. Like, did she bug out?
Starting point is 01:33:15 Like, what was that like? 10 years of lying. Right. Justina? It's in the book. Oh, let me read the book. It's in the book. OK, period.
Starting point is 01:33:23 The moral of the story is we got to stop shaming men for expressing themselves. After you just shamed me. No, man. The moral of the book. Oh, let me read the book. It's in the book. Okay, period. The moral of the story is we got to stop shaming men for expressing themselves. After you just shamed me. No, man. The moral of the story. We made so much toxic behavior public. We have to make the positive healing behavior public, too. And y'all going to make it the way men feel like it's not worth it to express themselves because of how y'all react to them.
Starting point is 01:33:37 And guess what? More men step up. There should be more men on the internet really supporting this brother in this time, if that's what y'all believe. I do. We all are. We get shamed for that like against our cheese i'm not i don't care what outfit she wears yeah i don't care about any of that i care about man this man if his feelings are hurt he should be able to express what's up brother what's your thoughts man um that's just how this world is man they expect the man to shut up be quiet
Starting point is 01:34:06 produce don't have no feelings don't show no hurt i work in the criminal courts right now there's a case a brother was losing custody of his child and let's just say right now you got to do 18 years in prison because nobody would listen to him you know nobody expects oh why is a man you got to do 18 years in prison because nobody would listen to him. Nobody expects, oh, why is a man you want to see your child so much? He ended up doing violence to the young lady? Exactly. Lord. So, there's no avenues for us.
Starting point is 01:34:38 He was calling his friend every night crying. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But nobody else would listen to him. No, I get it. This man was in a lot of pain. They just yeah, yeah, yeah. But nobody else would listen to him. No, I get it. This man was in a lot of pain. And they just wanted him to shut up. Imagine seeing a woman
Starting point is 01:34:50 on stage dressed like that. I don't care about the outfit. Or you could do something inappropriate. What's the man supposed to do? React after he told it or come out dressed like that. He told her?
Starting point is 01:35:01 Well, I don't know if he told her. I mean, but this is... I don't know. We're going to. I don't know what to say. This is also Kiki Palmer, a very famous, very talented entertainer. She's not just, you know, someone who went out that night to go, like, get a freak on with guys. Like, she is who she is.
Starting point is 01:35:16 I think we're forgetting that point. That's a very important point. I don't think we're forgetting it at all. That's what he was expressing in that interview. He was saying how he always felt he had the need to be perfect because she's Keke Palmer. He felt that she would always be perfect. Let me ask you a question.
Starting point is 01:35:31 All the allowances that men are afforded who are famous, who are lit, are females not afforded those the same allowances? Men that have a long list of options and are famous, I feel like they get away with a lot more than just a normal doer. If they're in a relationship, they should.
Starting point is 01:35:49 I don't think they should. See, the problem was, I don't necessarily think the problem was what happened. I think it was this, the phone, right? That's it. If you think about it, men go to a strip club, they get lap dances. Nobody knows. Nobody sees. But now imagine your man, there's a video of your man getting a crazy lap dance in a strip club.
Starting point is 01:36:04 Now the world sees you feeling bad. Ooh, snail trail. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Snail trail. Yeah. When that fudge leaves a little line. Okay.
Starting point is 01:36:12 You'd be mad because you've been publicly embarrassed. Correct. Yes. That's all it is. So it's really not about, it's really, you don't want people to know. Because it's really, you want to do everything behind closed doors and you don't want the internet to know. Yeah, I don't think, I just think you shouldn't publicly embarrass your significant other. I think they're more publicly embarrassing.
Starting point is 01:36:27 But why is it not embarrassing if it's behind closed doors, but it's only embarrassing if people see it, if it's truly who you are? I think it's, what do you mean when you say behind closed doors? Like you said, if there's no cameras out and you could do it. Oh, because then y'all two can have a conversation. Yeah, it's easy to work it out. It's like if you and your man get in an argument at home, it's different. But now if you're in public, it's a lot different because now people don't know
Starting point is 01:36:47 what you're arguing about. It's pressing now. You might feel a certain way. Things that you might have forgave him for at home, you might not forgive him for if it's in the public. And that's what the young man
Starting point is 01:36:55 was wrong for. The young man was wrong for... She was wrong for publicly embarrassing him with us. He was wrong for publicly embarrassing her on social media. They could have just had a conversation about each other
Starting point is 01:37:03 at home and nobody would have been the wiser. Let's take some more calls. 800-585-1051. Call in. Let us know what you think. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:37:11 You should be able to express the... Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag.
Starting point is 01:37:20 I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg.
Starting point is 01:37:34 I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I create my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. What could go wrong? Oh my God. What is that?

Starting point is 01:42:02 Bailin'! Bailin' everybody, it's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. You know, it's the 20th anniversary or the 20th season of Wildin' Out. And we have Justina Valentine and B. Simone here. And if you're just joining us, we're talking about men being able to express their feelings.
Starting point is 01:42:18 And why when a man expresses his feelings, he's a sucker, he's a simp, he's a wimp. But when women do it, they get so much support. And I know you were about to say something, Justina. I was going to say, did I not see the full clip? Because the clip I saw
Starting point is 01:42:31 was not that crazy. That's what I'm saying. Like, if she had been bent over and Usher was just, you know, pulling her hair and just like, you know,
Starting point is 01:42:40 slamming her, I'd be like, okay, it was a little crazy. But the clip I saw was not crazy at all. I will say this though, like, as a man, a little crazy. But the clip I saw was not crazy at all. I will say this, though. Like, as a man, what you just said
Starting point is 01:42:48 is probably what he saw in his mind. Right. You see what I'm saying? That's what it translated to. That's what you did. That's your wife, your girl, your baby mother. That's what you seen. You didn't just see a little dance.
Starting point is 01:42:58 You seen us abandoning her over. You saw the past. Yeah, that's what you seen. And also, by the way, what's wrong with being insecure? And what's wrong with me expressing that I'm insecure? Nothing.
Starting point is 01:43:07 Because the insecurity is going to express whether I say I'm insecure or not. You're going to tell about my behavior. You're going to tell about certain language I use. All I'm saying is you got to let men be able
Starting point is 01:43:14 to express these emotions because if you don't, they're going to keep them pent up inside. And we've all seen what that leads to. That don't mean nothing but toxic masculinity.
Starting point is 01:43:22 My thing is express it, but then what is the solution? Like if I'm insecure, we need to figure out how to get work on that. Conversation with each other. Therapy. But I think people
Starting point is 01:43:31 just want to vent and express and let's get to the root of it though. We have to heal it and fix it. But the whole thing is in a lot of relationships, people, they argue to win, right? And not argue to be on the same side.
Starting point is 01:43:42 Not argue to resolve. I don't want to argue to win. I want to argue to resolve. We need to resolve. Let's resolve. There's no winner. If you win, I lose. There shouldn't be on the same side. Not argue to resolve. I don't want to argue to win. I want to argue to resolve. We need to resolve. Let's resolve. There's no winner. If you win, I lose. There shouldn't be a winner or loser.
Starting point is 01:43:49 Let's resolve this situation and move on. Simple as that. Well, we have Charlina on the phone. Yes. Hey, how you doing? Are you named after Charlemagne, the God? No. I'm just joking.
Starting point is 01:43:59 I'm just joking, Charlina. What do you think? What's your thoughts? Okay, well, I feel like her baby father was very insecure about the whole scenario. I mean, if anything, he should have been uplifting her and proud of his woman because of how she's good, how she's carrying herself, she's healthy, she's living. And she just had their baby. I don't understand why he had to broadcast it.
Starting point is 01:44:20 We're missing the whole point of the conversation. The whole point of the conversation is, should men be able to express their feelings publicly without being shamed? Well, he didn't express his feelings. He expressed his insecurities. That is his feelings. My God. A man's insecurities aren't even considered feelings anymore?
Starting point is 01:44:38 God, that was an insecurity shot of me. Seriously. Men can't be insecure. We can't reserve the right to be insecure. You know what? You can be insecure, but not at the expense of putting your woman down. So if he would have just said, my woman dancing with Usher made me very insecure because of, you know, his legendary sex habits. But he kind of.
Starting point is 01:45:01 He's the guy who ripped a part on the internet. You're a mom. Your ass is out. Yeah. a mom yeah but he kind of ripped apart on the internet you're a mom your ass is out yeah and like and if she's really not cheating on him at all which i don't think she is it's like you also have to give her that grace like you know what life she's living she's coming home to you and she just had a baby looks damn good like but you hear what y'all just said and that's what i keep kind of trying to stress that is the conversation that should have been had we know it was misplaced
Starting point is 01:45:23 aggression correct right no he didn't care about the mom thing and the outfit. We know his feelings was hurt. Why not teach that brother how to properly express his emotions? That's what I'm saying. The solution, therapy, somebody, a professional to talk to, this, that, like, if you go to relationship counseling, y'all need to sit down, whatever,
Starting point is 01:45:40 you know, but get to the solution. Don't just keep arguing about it. TJ! Yo! What's up, brother? What's your thoughts, man? Man, so my thoughts is you should but get to the solution don't just keep arguing about it tj yo what's up brother what's your thoughts man man uh so my thoughts is you should be able to express how you feel i mean you know we say you know mental health is awareness but you should be able to say if i don't if you don't like something straight up uh i mean you you keeping all that bottled up as a man next you know you lash out on your kid or you lash out on your wife. That's right. That's how that works.
Starting point is 01:46:06 It just ain't healthy. It ain't. I'm raising a young son right now. He's turning five. He didn't fuck. One thing I'm always telling him is, hey, use your voice. If you don't like something, say it. That's right.
Starting point is 01:46:16 Okay. Because the reality is we're going to get there. Meaning that if you use your voice, even if you don't say what you really mean, like you said before, we're going to get to the root. That's all we're trying to do is get to the root to heal the problem all right well we got a moral of the story the moral of the story is men should be able to express their emotions and feelings without uh being shameful simple as that and women should be able to hoe it up as long as they're not really like a hoe as long as it's just innocent hoeing it's a difference
Starting point is 01:46:42 thing is innocent hoeing especially if you're in a relationship it was innocent hoeing. It's a difference. No such thing as innocent hoeing. Especially if you're in a relationship. It was innocent hoeing when she did it. And it wasn't even hoeing. I'm on Kiki's side. You know what? No, that's the kind of crazy stuff men used to say to their women for years. It was just innocent hoeing. I mean. I was just fucking them girls.
Starting point is 01:46:56 I was going to get right back. What? All right. It's 2023. When we come back, we got your rumor report. We got to talk about Tiffany Haddish. If you're trying to shoot your shot as celebrities, well, she's going to give you some tips on how to do so. We'll get to it next.
Starting point is 01:47:08 It's The Breakfast Club on BET. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. All right. Now, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Wild N' Out. And we have Justina Valentine and B. Simone. Now, when is Wild N' Out on?
Starting point is 01:47:22 So people do know. It's out already. Yes. Tonight. Yep. Every Thursday night. So that means tonight, 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, VH1.
Starting point is 01:47:30 It's a brand new season. Season 20, like you said, which is pretty epic that we made this far. And we're still not only surviving, but thriving because the show's just
Starting point is 01:47:38 getting bigger and better. That's dope. That is dope. They're about to have y'all do five seasons in three months because this writer's crack ain't ending no time soon. Right.
Starting point is 01:47:44 They're going to do as much content as possible. Y'all about to have y'all do five seasons in three months because this writer's crack ain't ending no time soon. Right. They're going to do as much content as possible. Y'all about to do season 21 through 25 in about two months. Well, Nick won a season for each one of his kids, so I'm pretty sure he's going to keep going. Oh, my goodness. All right. Well, let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Tiffany Haddish.
Starting point is 01:47:56 Rumor has it. Rumor. Rumor has it. Call out her name or you gossiping or you chatty patting. I don't gossip. This is the rumor report. I mean, I guess we on The Breakfast Club. This is where the tea spills, right?
Starting point is 01:48:06 Yes, on The Breakfast Club. All right. Now, Tiffany Haddish shares tips on how to shoot her shot at celebrities, how you can shoot your shot. This is the latest episode of The J.C. Lee Show. And this is what she said. I don't know about dating advice, but if you want to date somebody that's a celebrity. That's dating advice. He said if you want to date somebody that's a celebrity and you haven't met them yet and you can't get their number and get
Starting point is 01:48:27 to them just get somebody that you know that's a reporter to put a picture of you and that person together it's a rumor to be dating or seeing each other and then they'll call they'll contact you okay give me a name just give me a name of anybody that you think is cute matthew oh he's on my friend's instagram hold on a second the former baseball player i think he cute so he's so fine though would that work um i think if it's two celebrities yeah yeah because she said if you want to shoot your shot at a celebrity but i think for that to work both parties have to be celebrities yeah i feel like that worked for you, B. Simone. Yeah. Put her away. I feel like there was a time you used to do that over the baby. You did.
Starting point is 01:49:09 Oh, yeah. I manifested that. And it worked. It worked. I mean, we're not dating, but we're platonic friends. No, but he came out walling out. You came out in a wedding dress. Yeah, I came out in a wedding dress.
Starting point is 01:49:17 You know, it was just a little marketing thing. So who would you want it to really, really work for? It's like being asked. Like, Trina. Y'all hear that in the background? I don't know. You got to set me up with somebody, Charlamagne. But what do you want?
Starting point is 01:49:34 Like a sports player? A rapper? What are we talking about? Not necessarily any of that. A lawyer? Somebody that's loyal. Now, behind the scenes, B-Symoné said she wanted a blind date. Justina, what'd you say?
Starting point is 01:49:43 I said, so do you want the guy to be blind? And I said, I can't say I don't want to date a blind man. Because here you go, bash Bissamon. She don't want a blind man. She don't want a nine-to-five. Yeah, definitely won't see eye-to-eye, that's for sure. No, I do not want to date a blind man. I heard it, but I was walking by and I heard her say, you want to date a blind guy?
Starting point is 01:50:00 But I didn't know it came from, I wanted a blind date. I said, I want a blind date. She said, well, could the guy be blind? I said said no so so who should we put you in a picture you said someone who's gonna be loyal so probably the rappers and the ballplayers are out who else why I gotta be rapping the ballplayers there's so many men out there I want him to have married friends I want him to want to be married I want him in a relationship phase oh you want him to be married no married friends want to be married. I want him in a relationship phase. You want him to be married? No, married friends. I want him to want to be married.
Starting point is 01:50:28 But you don't want 9 to 5. So I'm just thinking. I would like a guy that's an entrepreneur. Somewhere close in the vicinity of what I do. He doesn't have to be like the face, but you know, real estate, industry, business owner. What if he's just stable? What if he has a nice everyday
Starting point is 01:50:43 working class job and he's just stable great benefits no it has nothing to do with financial freedom I just would love for I would like to do spontaneous things I would like to have
Starting point is 01:50:52 the same lifestyle I would like for him to be able to go on tour with me on the road with me I would like to be a unit on the road as a family
Starting point is 01:50:58 I would like for my man to be able to get up and go you hear the qualifications um who do you think is cute let's manifest put you in a picture with? You hear the qualifications? Who do you think is cute? Let's manifest it. Would you date a bus driver
Starting point is 01:51:08 be some more? Oh, here we go. What about Devon? Does he own the bus? Here we go. Y'all want me to get canceled again so bad. I would love to date
Starting point is 01:51:19 an entrepreneur that can just fit into my lifestyle as far as what I'm doing. Do you guys have any friends that are good for her? Yeah. I stay away from her. I don't want to be responsible.
Starting point is 01:51:30 The only time you get props for it is when it works out. I don't hook none of my homegirls up with nobody. Do your own dirt. Give me your Instagram just in case. The B Simone T-H-E B-S-I-M-O-N-E her DM's are on
Starting point is 01:51:48 black men that love God and yeah that are walking in their purpose can't be blind can't be blind no 9 to 5
Starting point is 01:51:55 can't be deaf you said that too can't be deaf because you say men already don't listen alright alright that is your rumor report
Starting point is 01:52:02 we got more with Justina Valentine and B Simone when we come back it's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:52:11 We're still kicking it with B. Simone and Justina Valentine. Of course, they're here for the 20th season of Wildin' Out. That's right. Let's hurry this up because B. Simone has to poop. Yeah, badly. B. Simone been holding her poop for 30 minutes. I'm sick. Start a slow gas leak over here.
Starting point is 01:52:24 I thought Charlamagne and I give a lot of our lives, but you give a lot of your life. No, she always has. I do. I try to, you know, scale it back. This last episode of my podcast, we were talking about like things you do in private. Like if I was really my full self, not even me, but humans, if we really are 100% full self, it's like I would probably be single forever. They jumped on you about the shower stuff.
Starting point is 01:52:45 Yes, they did. She showered this morning, y'all. No, I didn't. Oh, my goodness. I've been showering. I showered yesterday, last night, before I went to bed.
Starting point is 01:52:53 Has that affected your dating? No, I wasn't dating before. I still ain't dating now. I don't date. These men don't, excuse me, these men don't care. But you shower now daily,
Starting point is 01:53:04 once a day. Why you say that? Like morning or night. I don't care. But you shower now daily? Once a day? Why are you saying that? Like morning or night. I don't care which one you do. If I shower at night, I am not taking a shower the next morning. But you shower at night. You don't sweat when you sleep? I sweat when I sleep.
Starting point is 01:53:13 I don't wake up dirty. I don't know what y'all got going on. I take my shower at night. I learned that as a child. You shower at night so you get up ready for school and you go on to school. And it's like a reset though. I do that with my kids too. I take a shower at night. I'm a dog. But you shower after you to school and it's like a reset i do that with my kids too i didn't shower tonight but you shower after you poop no i do not shower
Starting point is 01:53:29 after every time i'm about to go poop right now i'm not about to just hop in your shower i have butt wipes so for you you should get somebody deaf so they don't have to hear this someone who never recovered from code is everybody in my dms like yeah me too i'm like well go say that on the shade room because y'all acting like y'all shower four times a day. I don't do all that. It's 102 degrees in New York today. I don't shower four times a day. I don't do that.
Starting point is 01:53:52 So if that's what you need, that ain't going to be me. Well, once a day I think is required. And then twice a day if you hit the gym at night and you showered in the morning or did something where you got dirty or walked around the city all day. Yeah, if I wake up and I'm not leaving the house and I have an off day and I'm in the bed and I'm eating soup, I'm not going to wake up, shower, and get back in the bed. I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that. And you said that the reason you didn't go poop 20 minutes ago is because you said it
Starting point is 01:54:14 takes you a long time to poop. I took her out of it because she has tight pants on. That's what I'm saying. That outfit too nice to poop in. I'm about to go poop. And then you're just going to walk around all day looking cute. So you want me to go poop, go take a shower, and then go poop?
Starting point is 01:54:30 Go back to the hotel? Every time you poop, you take a shower, Envy? If I go out, yes. What do you mean if you go out? Meaning if I poop in the house, I might say, alright, well, I'll be cool. I'll just wipe my ass, keep it moving if I'm in the house. But if I leave, I have to... I've been late to work because I had to poop in the morning and I got to double back and take a shower.
Starting point is 01:54:46 You're too pretty for mud butt. Every time you poop, you shower. No. Okay. So y'all don't be twisting my words now. If I'm going to be out. What if a gentleman just wants to eat your butt and then you got to think about it? I was just thinking that.
Starting point is 01:55:01 What are you thinking that? Because you never know when it's going to happen. No, what if something pop off tonight? Nothing's going to pop off tonight. Looking good. You took a poop up at the breakfast club. No, nothing's going to pop off tonight. You might meet Mr. Right and he might want to take a bite.
Starting point is 01:55:14 And he ain't going to be down. He's not going to do that. No? I know that. She said, I know that. I know that for sure. Well, once he go down there and he smell you in the shower. What I'm saying is I'm clean.
Starting point is 01:55:23 That's all y'all need to know. I do not take four showers a day. I don't do that. I will never do that. I'm not taking a shower every hour. I'm not doing that. Tell him you washed in the blood of the Lord. In the blood of the Lord.
Starting point is 01:55:34 In the blood of the Lamb. No, you smell good today. I know I do. But I'm a little stuffed up, so I really don't know for real. I'm just trying to look my girl out. I don't know what she smell like. I smell great. All right.
Starting point is 01:55:42 When we come back, we got the positive note. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's D.E.J. Envy back, we got the positive note. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. B. Simone, Justina, Valentinas. Y'all.
Starting point is 01:55:51 Oh, yeah. We appreciate you guys for joining us this morning. Thank you for having us. It was so fun. Did you have that in your stand-up? What? The shower. I'm going to talk about it tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:55:58 I ain't been on stage since all that stuff happened. Oh, got you. Got you. Oh, that's nice. That was my first day back in seven months back on the road. Tell me, Charlamagne made me cry today. I didn't really shed a tear, but my eyes got really watery. Wow, what did he say?
Starting point is 01:56:10 Just motivating me, talking about like, because I was nervous about stand-up. I was just telling her to talk about her life. You know what I mean? You can never lose being your true authentic self. Because I'm so nervous to get on stage because I'm so different than who I was on stage seven months ago. So it's like, you know, you want your truth to be, as a stand-up comedian, you talk about your truth. I'm trying to figure out how to make my truth funny.
Starting point is 01:56:28 As long as you shower, you don't have nothing to be nervous about. Well, I didn't shower. I think the main reason people love you is because you are so truthful. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:56:37 People can relate. People can make fun like we talked about earlier, but there are people that can relate to everything that's going on with your life. Good, bad, or ugly, whatever it may be.
