Starting point is 00:00:32 and Charlamagne Tha Duc. They're listening to The Wrecked Club. Thank y'all for being like cultural leaders. You guys are family. The Wrecked Club is where people get their information
Starting point is 00:00:41 on the topics, on the artists, and everything like that. I'm willing to do like that. You guys were nice. Everybody got me all nervous. Like, you guys are going to watch. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:00:48 Let's not go watch. Yeah. You're locked into the world's most dangerous morning show. More dangerous than the Bronx. If you want to break this club, you ain't going to bring it 120. Miners will not come up here. Oh, my Jesus. This is what y'all do up here?
Starting point is 00:00:59 That's right. Get up out the beds and listen to the greatest show on earth. Good morning, USA. to the planet guess what day it is guess what day it is good morning how you feeling jess pregnant i feel good can y'all hear me yeah you're like uh maybe like a maybe three second delay about two second delay yeah i thought you were just trying to be funny i thought so too enough for me no why would i try to be funny for the intro i don't know jesus you're a comedian you wake up making one wanting to make people laugh i don't know how are you though oh we already asked you that we asked her that already i'm good she's just i'm really i'm really really
Starting point is 00:01:56 good yo listen i got the best sleep during a nap yesterday. I haven't slept like that in like two months. I got the best sleep during a nap. It felt so good, a nap. What else you supposed to get during a nap? No, I mean she had good sleep. Oh, oh, oh. It was good. So what made it so good?
Starting point is 00:02:14 What did you do before? Did you eat or what did you do to make it so good? I just slept on my couch. I got a nice plush baby blue couch. I'm not going to lie. Your screen is giving me Tubi right now. Because you talk and your mouth be moving, but nothing come out. And then the words come out madly.
Starting point is 00:02:32 It's giving Tubi. It's giving Tubi. All right. Let's start the show. And not even an Alvin Gray or Snoot Films production either. Just somebody random. Oh, my goodness. Who just got a camera.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Y'all going to make Jess hurt somebody in a second. I was going to tell you that. Y'all going to make Jess hurt somebody. Well, if you don't know, of course, Jess is about to have this baby in about two, three weeks. Hopefully. You're right, man. About three. There she goes.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Three, four. About three, four weeks. So she's broadcasting from the crib. So the equipment sometimes doesn't necessarily work like it's supposed to. So we're trying to get it perfect so it can work. So right now she has like a little delay. So when we talk to her, it takes about two seconds to answer. That's why you had like just a quick second.
Starting point is 00:03:13 But you're doing good, Jess, right? Yeah, I'm doing good. He's just doing that to mess with you at this point. No, I'm not. Well, Dr. Umar Johnson will be joining us this morning. Yes, he will be, man. You know, Dr. Umar Johnson, he comes every couple of years. Yes, right.
Starting point is 00:03:28 You know, to just give us updates on a lot of different things. That's right. Just however, it's his thoughts, whatever he's feeling at the time. We got a lot to talk to him about. There's a lot going on in the world that we think Dr. Umar's opinion will be needed. I find, y'all know I already find Dr. Umar extremely interesting. I like having conversations with Dr. Umar. And one of the most unintentionally funny people ever to walk the face of the earth.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Absolutely. Absolutely. And we'll get updates on his Frederick Douglass Marcus Garvey Academy as well. All right. But let's get the show cracking. When we come back, we got front page news. Morgan Wood will be joining us. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Good morning, Morgan. Good morning, y'all. Well, yeah, let's get into it.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Former President Donald Trump, he is challenging Biden to another debate and a round of golf while hosting a campaign rally in Florida. On Tuesday, Trump said he's officially offering Biden the chance to redeem himself in front of the entire world after his poor debate performance last month. Let's hear more from Trump at his rally in Florida. Let's do another debate this week so that sleepy Joe Biden can prove to everyone all over the world that he has what it takes to be president. But this time it will be man to man, no moderators, no holes barred. Just name the place, anytime, anywhere. And in the debate, Sleepy Joe also declared that he wanted to test his skills and stamina against mine on the golf course. Can you believe this? Did you ever see him swing?
Starting point is 00:05:07 He's like this. Of course, Trump is trying to attempt to show what Biden's golf swing looks like in that. And he also said he would donate $1 million to a charity of Biden's choice if the president wins. Now, of course, President Biden is in D.C. to attend the NATO summit with other world leaders until Friday. So he is unavailable for a debate or a golf game this week. Now, Trump also told the crowd that this year's election will be the most important in America's history.
Starting point is 00:05:33 And he took some more shots at Biden and Vice President Harris, claiming that they and the entire Democrat establishment are all co-conspirators in the sinister plot to defraud the American public about Biden's cognitive abilities. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke in Vegas on Tuesday during a campaign event. She rolled out a new administrative administration effort, excuse me, to win over Asian-American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander voters. But she couldn't get away from the elephant in the room, acknowledging the rough couple of weeks that it has been for President Biden amid the fallout from his debate performance. Now, Vice President Harris described what's ahead as the most existential,
Starting point is 00:06:13 consequential, and important election of our lifetime. We seem to be on the same page about that. So let's hear more from VP Harris at her rally in Vegas. Most recently, the Supreme Court of the United States basically told this individual who has been convicted of fraud that going forward he will be immune for activity we know he is prepared to engage in if he gets back into the White House.
Starting point is 00:06:46 Yeah, so Vice President Harris, she is scheduled to go to, she is scheduled to speak in Dallas today. She will address the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated 71st Biennial Convention at Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas today. And tomorrow she'll be back on the campaign trail in Greensboro, North Carolina. They seem to be both candidates or excuse me, it's both sides seem to be pretty riled up.
Starting point is 00:07:14 And in other news, ironic news, just it's all ironic. Anyways, the U.S. Marshal Service is confirming that two deputy marshals involved in a Northwest D.C. shooting are part of a protective detail for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. So basically, there was a carjacking attempt for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor at her residence. An armed suspect attempt to carjack one of her carjacked the marshals last Friday outside of her residence. Now, both marshals fired at the suspect who later who was later identified as 18 year old Kentrell Flowers. Now, Flowers was wounded and he is expected to recover. He is facing multiple charges, including armed carjacking.
Starting point is 00:08:02 And it is not been reported if the justice was home at that time. They shot him in the mouth. They shot him in the mouth. They were actually in the car when he shot the carjacker. Yeah, he lived. Yeah. Well, you play stupid games,
Starting point is 00:08:12 you get stupid prizes, so, you know. Now, you know, this happened, I think, a couple of weeks ago with Joe Biden's detail. Joe Biden's detail was outside his granddaughter's house. They tried to carjack a car, and they were there as well, so.
Starting point is 00:08:21 That was months ago. Months ago? Secret service, yeah. Yeah, but you keep playing around. You don't know who you carjacked. You carjacked the wrong person, and it's over. Yeah. a car and they were there as well so that was months ago months ago secret service yeah yeah but you keep playing around you don't know who you call jack you call jack the wrong person and it's over yeah and in regards around and find out that's right and in regards to what you said about uh with the audio you played about uh the vice president of the supreme court i'm glad the vice president said that about the supreme court but i want her to go further and say the supreme court
Starting point is 00:08:41 is no longer a legitimate institution it's just a pure corrupt court at this point why would she have to say that you said that yesterday i'm not the vice president of the united states of america when the vice president of the united states of america said that it holds a lot more weight the president should be saying that this at this point too like every the president and the vice president should be calling out the supreme court for uh the corrupt court that they are they are no longer a legitimate but why don't they say his name why don't they say donald trump when don't they say Donald Trump? When we played the audio, she was like, yeah, there's a gentleman that the Supreme Court just allowed. Oh, no, she said
Starting point is 00:09:10 his name after the fact. Oh, she said it after the fact? No, we only played, we didn't say it. Yeah, she definitely mentions his name. She calls him for sure. And I don't think President Biden should do a second debate. I think so, right? I saw Whoopi Goldberg say yesterday on The View that if Biden had another bad debate in the second one that she would join the chorus of
Starting point is 00:09:28 people saying biden should step down do y'all really think biden's gonna perform any better and did you see george uh stephanopoulos if i'm pronouncing his last name right say biden can't do four more years he just sat with him this weekend he did that whoopi goldberg and george stephanopoulos walked back their comments so there's that too oh because they got pressure somebody put pressure on real last name that's what that is yes that's his real last name somebody put pressure on them and said you're not going to get no more interviews from the white house or nobody from the white house is going to come on the view are your program if you don't walk these back you know that's what happened of course absolutely cowards man why do people why are people so cowardly to speak the
Starting point is 00:10:03 truth i don't get it but I'm with you they shouldn't do another debate if I'm Biden and I'm Biden's team I wouldn't do another debate and my excuse would be I can't fact check against Trump and he's a liar
Starting point is 00:10:11 and I'm not going to do it but there's no way there's no way in hell you put that old man back up on that stage and look like that you shouldn't do it or you just do a debate
Starting point is 00:10:17 and call him a liar every time he talks because he will it will be yeah yeah well he was fired up yesterday talking to NATO and even Fox said
Starting point is 00:10:24 you know well even Fox had a headline saying that it it looked good but that's your we'll get more into it in the next hour that's your front page news i'm working with and do you think biden could do 18 holes of golf do you think he can walk around in the florida heat now and and really play golf yeah golf ain't that crazy yeah it'd be hot He got a hot But he can figure that out Alright Ride around in his little caddy Get IVs Get IVs the whole time Get it off your chest
Starting point is 00:10:52 800-585-1051 If you need to vent Phone lines are wide open Again 800-585-1051 Get it off your chest It's The Breakfast Club Good morning
Starting point is 00:11:01 The Breakfast Club This is your time To get Good morning. The Breakfast Club. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk. I hate the way that you dress. Everything with me is blessed. Call up now.
Starting point is 00:11:18 800-585-1051. Not just me. I'm with the coach of Philly. What's up, Trav? Envy. What's up, Envy? What's going on? Jess. What's up, my mom? Envy, what's up, Envy? What's going on? Jess, what's up, my mom?
Starting point is 00:11:27 Hey, baby. Char. Hey, sis. What's happening? Can I tell you something, Char? Yep. I have a job. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Okay? I am employed. And it was planned for me to be there on Monday because I was co-hosting with Angel Lee. But I did walk in and ask, where my girl Char at? Okay. Did your job know that you was here or did walk in and ask, where my girl Shaara at? Okay. Did your job know that you was here, or did you tell them something else? What did you tell them? Don't worry about all that.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Actually, ask Eddie. It's kind of crazy to lie to a job when you're actually going somewhere that they're probably going to hear you. Damn. You didn't think that would happen, did you? I'm still good, did you i'm still good though i'm still good though okay but i definitely walked in i definitely um every time i come in so i want you to know it's your fault that i always give just a gentle fuss out just a little gentle fuss out what is the gentle fault because you know i'm waiting for something with jeff and it's your fault that i'm waiting on it just is pregnant can you let her have the baby for something with Jeff, and if you'll fall down waiting on it. Jeff is pregnant.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Can you let her have the baby? Jesus. Jesus Christ. And I always come in, and I always say, dang, you ain't dropped the baby yet? Yeah, she's pregnant. Give her a minute. She got a couple weeks.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Yes, he sure did. Like, what? You ain't had a baby? Please don't rush her. Goodbye, Trav. All right, y'all. Bye. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:12:42 Yes, sir. Good morning, Breakfast Club. It's J.A. from Indy. J.A. from Indy. Get it off your chest. Hey, man, I miss my son. He went away from college last year. He lived with me full time.
Starting point is 00:12:53 I was thinking it's going to be the most exciting time ever. My son's out the house. He's my only kid. I'm not married. And it took about a year. And now I'm starting to realize how much I miss him. Even though he's home, he's staying with his mom a little bit back and forth between our homes man I miss my son damn well what's what's what's what state is he in now what school is it
Starting point is 00:13:14 no I'm sorry yeah he goes to undergrad undergrad at Purdue okay just dying on me man that I miss him yeah now I miss my son but he's back now my son is eating crazy when i say he eats more than everybody in the house i'm like god damn where all the food going but nah it's definitely back to have have your kids back in the crib like i love the fact that my whole family's back in the crib so i enjoy bro that's sweet yeah now i'm gonna reach out to my son today when he gets off work because he's got an internship and i'm gonna tell him but he's not up early enough because you know he's 19 they teenagers they ain't never gonna get up this early again until they have to.
Starting point is 00:13:46 But this is going, man, I miss him, which is crazy to me because I was like, I couldn't wait for him to dip. I love hearing this. That's what it is. Have a good one, Jay. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up now.
Starting point is 00:13:59 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. I'm telling. I'm telling. Hey, what you doing, man? I'm telling. I'm calling. I'm calling you.
Starting point is 00:14:10 This is your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or blessed. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Hey, good morning, everybody. How y'all doing in this sweltering heat? Hey, good morning. It's hot out there. And let me just get straight to it.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Now, I don't want to say ASSINI, but it's as not that the same people that will tell you that Joe Biden is in charge of a criminal organization with his family and that he's using the Justice Department to persecute Trump and he's conniving and he's scheming. But the same people on the other hand, I will tell you that he's mentally incompetent to run or to be the president of the United States. It can't be both ways. He can't be inept on one end and then on the other end, he's a genius that he's manipulating the system. Also, the Democrats are so aloof and so out of touch. Let me remind you, the Black Democratic caucus back when Obama first ran, they didn't support Obama.
Starting point is 00:15:11 They pushed behind Hillary Clinton over Obama. That is a fact. The goal should be, get him in office. Just don't let the other guy win. And yes, I'm partial to this because I can see the other guy for what he is. After you get the win win then you have protocols in office that you can remove him i'm not a but i know that you can go ahead and get him out of office once the the battle is over
Starting point is 00:15:38 for all these other democrats to come out and they know but you miss you you're missing one important thing my brother one important thing, my brother, one important thing. And I've been asking this question for several months. What? Can he win? We know he won in 2020, but there was a whole series of unfortunate circumstances that happened in 2020 that got him across that finish line. Are they a winnable ticket, Biden-Harris in 2024?
Starting point is 00:16:00 It's a tough one. That's a tough one. That's what people are afraid of. Here's what I'll say to that. And here's what we got to hope for. That's a tough one. That's what people are afraid of. Here's what we got to hope for. We got to hope that there's some, and I'm going to be blunt with this, there's some reasonable,
Starting point is 00:16:11 sensible-minded white women because that's the majority of the population that's going to see this for what it is and go, you know, I'd rather take the old guy that may be a little mentally off as opposed to the guy that's sharp, but he doesn't have a country of the best interest. So I'm hoping that there's enough of them that'll see.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Well, those women showed up for Trump in 2016. Yep. We shall see. We shall see. Jordan! Good morning, Breakfast Club. How are y'all? Hey, good morning.
Starting point is 00:16:43 How you feeling, Jordan? I'm good. Is Jordan a welder? Hey, good morning. How you feeling, Jordan? I'm good. Is Jordan a welder? Yes, Jordan a welder. Yeah. What's up, Jordan? How are you? I'm good.
Starting point is 00:16:52 I'm a little late, but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Black Effect Podcast Festival. It was so fun. Let's go. Thank you. I had a good time, and it was so nice to meet you and your wife. She is so beautiful. Thank you very much. You know, we'll be back in Atlanta again next year for the third annual Black Effect podcast.
Starting point is 00:17:10 We will definitely be there, too. Yes, indeed. Enjoy. That's the baby out here in the background. Huh? Is that the baby out here in the background? Yes, and he is so busy. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:17:50 Because she sees it every day. She's saying, is that one t-shirt really that comfortable? It is. I got one on right now. I know, I know. That's different. Thank God. But I'm just saying, like, she just asking that one.
Starting point is 00:18:01 She asking about that one, but she trying not to offend you. Starting point is 00:19:00 What am I talking about It's 2024 Be progressive You don't know how to identify That's what I do Exactly Be fluid Morning everybody Do you boo Do you boo Do you You know what? Starting point is 00:19:06 We are the breakfast club. Do you, boo. Do you, boo. Do you. We are the breakfast club, damn it. Let's get to Jess with the mess. News is real, brother. News is real.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Just a lot more. Just don't do no lying. Don't do no lying. She don't spare nobody. Worldwide Jess. Worldwide mess. On the breakfast club.'s a coach of she was able to get y'all to see something and understand something that nobody could get you to see it's time to set it on all right so i got just in time so cameron and shakur stevenson go back and forth so he fought I do not know
Starting point is 00:19:45 this name Artem is all I know how you know his last name Artem I can't pronounce it either yeah that's not it that's not close to know what I would have got but the fight it was Saturday night in Newark. And Cam and me spoke on the fight during Monday's episode of that show. It is what it is. And we got audio for that play. I don't want to see Shakur fight. I'm just going to be honest.
Starting point is 00:20:18 No disrespect to Newark. But I don't want to see Shakur fight nobody. I mean, for him to be hanging out with. Hey, what's up? This is Ramses Jha. And I go by the name Q Ward. And we'd like you to join us each week for our show Civic Cipher. That's right. We're going to discuss social issues, especially those that affect black and brown people, but in a way that informs and empowers all people to hopefully create better allies. Think of it as a black show for non-black people. We discuss everything from prejudice to politics to police violence, and we try to give you the tools to create positive change in your home, workplace, and social circle. Exactly. Whether you're black, Asian, white, Latinx, indigenous, LGBTQIA+, you name it. If you stand with us, then we stand with you. Let's
Starting point is 00:21:01 discuss the stories and conduct the interviews that will help us create a more empathetic, accountable and equitable America. You are all our brothers and sisters, and we're inviting you to join us for Civic Cipher each and every Saturday with myself, Ramses Jha, Q Ward and some of the greatest minds in America. Listen to Civic Cipher every Saturday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Terrence Crawford and Andre Ward, there is absolutely no way that he's fighting the way he's fighting. He just needs to accept he's a defense fighter. He's not an offensive
Starting point is 00:21:38 fighter, and there's nothing wrong with that. So they was like, you know, complaining about the performance, about his performance about his performance and everything because people was actually getting up walking out they were booing and everything like everybody was just saying it was a boring fight a lot of people were talking about it but Shakur took to X to get back at Cameron Amace I mean they have a big platform and sometimes you
Starting point is 00:21:59 just go for the person the people they got the biggest platform he jumped on there and he said you know what irks me? When men talk boxing, but they never glove up. That fat MF Amace and big teeth Cameron needs to shut the F up. Them two wiggers never step in a boxing ring. We got all types of entertainers gloving up. Tell these iggers to glove up or shut up. So of course, camera dress
Starting point is 00:22:28 records, tweets, and yesterday's episode of It Is What It Is. The point being is this, you fighting more after the fight. Trying to fight everybody on Instagram or Twitter or everything else because we seen it. What the f*** is you talking about? Now you talking about we should glove up.
Starting point is 00:22:44 Shut the f*** up. Shut the fuck up. But not slap fire at you, nigga. Shut the fuck up. You getting boxing in the streets confused, nigga. Like, stop getting boxing in the street. Those are two different things, nigga. Because when a switchblade or sun note and everything, you talking about niggas better strap up.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Why would you give a fuck if that heads up? You dumb mother fucker. Get out of here, nigga. You out your mother fucking mind. If you want to impress me step up and wait fight to your female in newark so you can knock your head to irvington jesus i think uh well first of all cam and mace are hilarious they are okay as violent as it may sound it's still hilarious and uh i think i think they being too hard on shakur i think folks are being too hard on Shakur because, as May said, Shakur is a defensive fighter. And Shakur's fights are considered boring if you're comparing him to somebody like Tank because Tank is a knockout artist.
Starting point is 00:23:32 And knockouts are exciting. But we should look at Shakur the way we looked at Mayweather. There was a time when people thought Mayweather was boring because he was a defensive fighter. And that's what Shakur is. You know, last fight they said he ran too much. This fight he walked his opponent down and had him backing up all night. He's just not a knockout artist. But I would love to see Shakur fight Tank.
Starting point is 00:23:49 That's the fight I want to see. Yeah, yeah. Didn't you say that's one of the boxes? I told Ryan Garci and I think they scared of Shakur Stevenson. You know, if he's so boring, you know, if all he is is a defensive fighter, get in the ring with him. Because they'd be ducking the young boy. Get in the ring with him. Because they be ducking the young boy. Get in the ring with him. But I'm hearing maybe we might see Tank Chico this fall.
Starting point is 00:24:09 I would love to see that. I would love to see that fight. Okay. Well, we going to see. Mm-hmm. Did y'all watch that fight? I didn't. I saw the replay.
Starting point is 00:24:19 I watched it later after the fight. Yeah, no, I didn't see the fight. Okay. Okay. Well, that's just what the mess for the first hour. Jesus. Did you know the fight was on red? Because I didn't even know the fight. Yeah, no, I didn't see the fight. Okay. Okay. Well, that's just what the mess for the first hour. Jesus. Did you know the fight was on red?
Starting point is 00:24:28 I didn't even know the fight was on. I didn't see as much promo as usually a lot of these other fights. I knew it was on. And they fought in Newark? That's where he's from.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Yeah, he's from Newark. Oh, I didn't know that. So that's like home court advantage. I didn't know they could do that in boxing. I thought it's always
Starting point is 00:24:42 like either like Vegas or Vegas or Barclays. Nah, they can fight anywhere. Oh, that's it's always like either like Vegas or Barclays. Nah, they can fight anywhere. Oh, that's what's up. Oh, he won. He won, right? Yeah, he won. Okay, thank God he won.
Starting point is 00:24:57 It's crazy when you get beat up at home. Can he go back in the hood? No, he won at home. Alright, when we come back, we got front page news. Morgan Wood will be joining us. And then Dr. Umar Johnson will be here. So don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Wake up. You're locked into the Breakfast
Starting point is 00:25:12 Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Now let's get in some front page news. Good morning, Morgan. Good morning. Good morning again. Let's get back into it then. So House Democratic leadership is backing president biden as there are concerns over his ability to defeat donald trump and serve another term as commander-in-chief excuse me uh democratic
Starting point is 00:25:36 caucus chair p aguilar told reporters at a meeting yesterday his party is unified and he supports biden as the nominee. Now, California Representative Ted Lieu also entered the conversation tying Trump to some controversial people. So let's hear the comments from Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar and Representative Ted Lieu. The twin goals that we have, preventing Donald Trump from ever setting foot in the White House and getting 218 votes for Hakeem Jeffries on January 3rd. But something I've heard that doesn't seem to be being covered are the Epstein files. These files were released, and Donald Trump's sort of all over this, right?
Starting point is 00:26:15 There are pictures of him with Jeffrey Epstein. He's taken multiple plane flights with Epstein with young girls on board. He is on call logs with Epstein. One of the highest trending hashtags on Twitter right now is about Trump and Epstein. I'm not going to repeat the hashtag because we're in a dignified setting. But yeah, y'all might want to look at that because that's highly disturbing. And again, it shows that
Starting point is 00:26:33 Donald Trump is unfit for office. And by the way, he was convicted in a civilian court for sexual assault, convicted in a separate court of 34 felonies. Donald Trump should drop out of the race. donald trump should drop out of the race donald trump definitely should uh drop out of the race but you know uh so what you said about the house democrat leaders backing biden um just because they are backing him doesn't mean they
Starting point is 00:26:54 are right about him being able to beat donald trump it also doesn't matter what they think they gotta convince the american people so all those house democrats are gonna have to figure out a way to convey that he's ready because a lot of folks know Trump is bad. But can you convince people that Biden is good the same way of the same way? We know Trump isn't fit for office. There's a lot of people out here who don't think that Biden is, you know, mentally or physically fit for office. But I think anymore, the majority of time, all we're talking about is they're saying that trump shouldn't be in office because of his criminal record and they're saying they're right biden shouldn't be you know running because of his age and the fact that it seems like he has early signs of dementia dementia but nobody's talking about what they're going to do when they become president oh no they are they
Starting point is 00:27:36 are i can't i president biden them definitely uh you know lay out lay out their agenda a lot doesn't seem like as much the only noise i hear is the fact that trump has criminal records he shouldn't be running and the fact that biden seems like he has early signs i agree that the media should do a better job because all the media does is talk about how bad trump is the people who support trump don't care what they need to be doing especially since everybody's looking at president biden asking is he physically and mentally fit for office they should be constantly pushing uh you know the things that the good things that Biden and Harris have done while they've been in the White House. That's what the media should be doing. I agree. And the things that they want to do in the next four years if they do become in the White House again.
Starting point is 00:28:13 So one of the other people who believe that Biden is unfit to serve, of course, is House Speaker Mike Johnson. He said President Biden is unfit to serve as commander in chief. He told reporters that yesterday, of course, after all of this is because of the debate performance. So let's hear more from Speaker Johnson on his thoughts about Biden. What we're projecting from the White House is not strength right now at a very dangerous time around the world. And that's why the American people are so alarmed by this. Most of the Americans, people understand that Joe Biden is not fit for that office. And it's a terrible thing. The Democrats have misled us and they need to be held accountable for that.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Johnson said it's dangerous when the U.S. has a president who is not on his game. What were you going to say? No, I said people have to stop acting like folks just started feeling like this after the debate we've been watching biden for almost four years i've been asking the question for about two years is the biden harris ticket a winnable ticket in 2024 we was in here talking about joe biden's seemingly seeming cognitive decline for the last couple of years why are we just acting like this is a new thing that happened after the debate it's strange to. As previously mentioned in the last hour, George Stephanopoulos was caught saying he wasn't sure if Biden could serve another term. Of course, he's been close to
Starting point is 00:29:34 the administration. He has actually interviewed Biden multiple times, but he has since walked back those comments. Let me share those comments. TMZ captured the initial exchange. Let's hear the audio. What do you think? Do you think Biden should step down? You talk to him more than anybody else has lately. And you can be honest. You don't think he can start four more years? Alright, that's an answer.
Starting point is 00:29:57 So a passerby definitely caught up with George Stephanopoulos just walking, you know, just walking by on the streets of New York. And that's what happened. So Stephanopoulos then said, you know, just walking by on the streets of New York. And that's what happened. And so Stephanopoulos then said, quote, earlier today, I responded to a question from a passerby I shouldn't have. And Disney actually jumped in to say in a separate statement that George expressed his own point of view and not the position of ABC News. So, of course, you know, like as previously mentioned, he has interviewed the president before. And so I'm...
Starting point is 00:30:30 Boo! That type of cowardice is going to cause Donald Trump to win. Because if folks don't feel like Biden can win, if folks don't feel like he's fit to serve
Starting point is 00:30:37 four more years, they should be allowed to say that. And the campaign needs to adjust accordingly. The only person making people feel like Biden can't run for four more years is Joe Biden.
Starting point is 00:30:47 And the only person who has to convince the American people that they are fit to run for four more years is Joe Biden. George Stephanopoulos backed off those remarks because the White House threatened them with no access to the White House. Guaranteed. They hit up Disney and hit up ABC and said, hey, if you don't walk these comments back, if y'all don't say something, y'all not getting access to the president, the vice president, nobody. You know that's what happens. Yeah, Stephanopoulos has also been connected
Starting point is 00:31:13 to former White House, or he was a former White House communications advisor during the Clinton administration. So you might have a point there. I'm not sure. Well, that's your front page news guys i'm sure i'll have more fun for you tomorrow i'm working wood follow me on social at morgan media and for more news coverage be sure you're checking out the black information network at
Starting point is 00:31:35 binnews.com and follow them as well as black information network oh so much all right when we come back dr umar will be joining us. That's right, Dr. Umar Johnson. So don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:31:53 It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. We got a special guest in the building. He's back. He's back. Ladies and gentlemen, Dr. Umar Johnson. Welcome, brother. Peace and pan-Africanism.
Starting point is 00:32:04 Good to see you brothers again. Peace, King. How are you feeling today? I'm all right. I'm all right. How does Dr. Umar feel about being the black boogeyman for interracial relationships? It's good and it's bad. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:15 The good side is I hear from a lot of brothers who have gave up the bunny hopping. They send me messages, inbox. They stop me at the airport. So I do see the positive effect you know brother I'm with a queen now I see the difference if I never listened to you I would have never really evaluated my behavior the not-so-good side is also get the hate mail from brothers who are committed to the bunny hop right and they can be very aggressive got any repudiation of my
Starting point is 00:32:41 position you know people think because you have such a love for black people, that for whatever reason that translates to hate for white folks. Absolutely not. Because if that were true, why do I get so many requests for help from white parents? Why do I get so many requests for help from Asian parents, Arab parents? They don't have a problem texting my phone saying, hey, can I pay this consultation? I need you to look at my child's psychological evaluation. I never get apprehension from white parents when they need my help on special education or mental health cases.
Starting point is 00:33:08 You see what I'm saying? So if it were that bad, I would assume they would not be reaching out to me. They have no issue reaching out to me. And they don't go through a filter. They come direct, even the snow bunnies. Listen, I know how you feel about that. I need help with my son. He's a white boy, blonde hair, blue eyes.
Starting point is 00:33:24 Will you help us? Pay the fee. I got you. And if you white boy, blonde hair, blue eyes. Will you help us pay the fee? I got you. And if you hated them, you wouldn't get off of the help. Why would I help him at all? You see what I'm saying? Some of them buy my book too. They say,
Starting point is 00:33:31 Hey, I know your book is towards black families, but the information in there, we can use it too. Do white parents ever call you and say, Hey, my white son or my white daughter is into this black boy or black girl. And we need to,
Starting point is 00:33:44 we want to erase him from there. Do they ever call you for that? No, I get the opposite. I'll get the black mother who will say, Dr. Uma, my son is bunny hopping, and it looks like he has a point of no return. Can you help me out? That's what I get. Do you have a camp? I need a camp.
Starting point is 00:33:59 I need a camp. That's a good idea, though. A bunny hopping recovery camp. Bunny Hoppers Anonymous camp. I need a camp. That's not a bad idea. That is a very good idea. You just hopping recovery uh bunny hoppers anonymous camp i need a camp that's not a bad idea that is a very good idea you just gave me an idea so what they do call you how do you break my god they'd be upset like dr umar you're taking a white girl to the prom and i thought that was it no no no uh uh she's living with him in his dorm no no no they're about to move in together no no no uh she's pregnant now what can i do And the first thing I say to the black mother is, are you sure you did not model love or addiction to whiteness before your son?
Starting point is 00:34:30 Because many of these mothers who have an issue with their son with the white girl, got blonde hair, blonde weave, other green contacts. Like I'm looking at how you present yourself. You look like you're trying to be a white girl. So if the mother is imitating whiteness, why wouldn't the son be attracted to it? Because your first love affair is with your mother, not sexually, psychosocially. So therefore, if I see my mother imitating white women, are you not indirectly through your behavior suggesting that I date white females? females so i think a lot of black mothers have to really check themselves with regard to how
Starting point is 00:35:05 they're modeling the fact that they believe within themselves as a woman that white women are more attractive and i want to ask you something columbus short says since we're talking about that he said uh he got some heat for saying that black men are dating outside their race because most black women are raised by single mothers and absentee fathers and taught a don't need a man mentality what are your thoughts on well here's what i would say to my brother columbus short and i'm a fan of his are we not all victims of the systemic oppression and injustice that racism has introduced into our community so just as you have black women who didn't grow up with their father you have black men who didn't grow up with their fathers or their mothers in other words why is it acceptable for the black man raised by a black
Starting point is 00:35:45 woman without his dad to reject a black woman raised by her mother without her dad i think sometimes black men can be guilty of a double standard where we want a perfect offering when we ourselves are not a perfect offering and to that point i think black men need to recognize the fact that one of the reasons we have so much conflict with black women is because we don't operate on a masculine platform with our women all the time. We tend to operate on a female platform. For example, when a woman gets angry rather than you trying to understand your queen non emotionally, that's what the man is supposed to do but guess what we do raised by single mothers many of us we reflect right back to them that emotional trauma that they throwing on us so in essence you have two females arguing although one is in a man's body damn dr huma ain't playing
Starting point is 00:36:36 today yeah let's get to it there's a lot of things to talk about uh do you think president biden should step down i got a couple answers to to that. On the one end, presidents don't make the final decisions anyway. So because they are puppets, it really wouldn't matter if he stepped down or not. However, from an optics perspective, his showing against Donald Trump in that debate didn't look good at all, even though they're only three years apart. Right. On the flip side, I'm not too sure the Democratic Party is ready to anoint Kamala Harris as, quote unquote, commander in chief, because, as you know, in the post Barack Obama era, the last thing poor white America wants to see is another black person as commander in chief. So I don't think they necessarily want to go that route. They don have to there's others as well but at the end of the day both men are extremely up there in age because i don't want to be a senior shamer if you would right because seniors are just as capable intellectually many of them as those of us in our age bracket at the same time they're still the two oldest men to ever run and rerun for president
Starting point is 00:37:41 of the united states but you know what doesn't that also speak to the weaknesses in both parties that's right if joe biden is the best the democratic national committee has if donald trump is the best the republican national committee has what is that saying about the talent y'all incubating so what do you think about you know blacks uh loving donald trump so much shaking his hand kissing his kissing his hand rubbing his back saying we support him what do you what do you think about a slave A slave master syndrome, white Jesus syndrome. We don't care if the white Jesus wears red or blue. We don't care what side of the aisle that they're on. You know, black America suffers from battered spouse syndrome envy.
Starting point is 00:38:15 And what battered spouse syndrome speaks to is the fact that no matter how bad you beat me up, if I believe I need you in order to survive, I'm never going anywhere. And part of our problem, part of the equation to our problem as American Africans, while we don't do anything on our own, is we are often waiting for the great white savior to come. This is a message that has been rehearsed for us in church. We get it in the media. We get it in the black community. So black people will never, ever abandon their hope of a white savior coming to save them donald trump has no record whatsoever of saving black folks when people ask me who you're going to vote for at
Starting point is 00:38:51 this point neither one of them are going to get my vote i considered cornell west because i love dr west intelligent strong good natured but he's a bunny hopper so he can't get my vote now when i come back to donald trump and joe biden i look at the fact that donald trump signed 13 federal death executions while he was president more than half of them was signed after joe biden won the election think about that now biden gets elected in november sworn in in january between that time donald trump executes half of those 13 people five of them were black men and two of those black men were presumed innocent and the attorneys had introduced a stay of execution to the supreme court the supreme court turned them down and donald trump executed those brothers so when i hear black men say i'm voting for donald trump
Starting point is 00:39:33 because he's going to bring more money and economic vitality into the black community i say what about the fact that he's out here killing black folks you understand without no remorse at all so you got to look at that you also got to look at the fact that donald trump wants to give police 100 immunity that's right wait a minute look how they're killing us now so now you're telling me that anything the police do in their line of duty they cannot be held accountable for making bad mistakes and bad decisions and you want to put that back in office that's thirsty black men worry more about money than the lives of their people that's right all right we got more with dr umar johnson when we come back don't move it's the breakfast club good morning morning everybody it's dj envy jess hilarious charlemagne the guy we are the breakfast club we're still kicking with
Starting point is 00:40:14 dr umar charlemagne i see you uh you know the frederick douglas marcus garvey academy yes sir i see you in the building all the time yes sir and i just started saying where the school yeah they're still saying what the school everybody knows Yeah, they still saying where the school at. Everybody knows where the school is. Yes, sir. You can't miss it. And you just was asking for something. What was you just asking for? Somebody to help us with the floors.
Starting point is 00:40:33 With the floors, yes. We got, so last time I was here, remember, I was still struggling with the HVAC. Remember that? So the HVAC is done. Plumbing is done. All the systems repaired. Now we're super officials.
Starting point is 00:40:41 We got to get the doors done. We got some doors that got to be replaced. We got another layer of paint. So we're going to do one more paint day. Andials we got to get the uh the doors done we got some doors that got to be replaced we got another layer of paint so we're going to do one more paint day and then we got 11 floors when we took the old rugs out we got to cover them up right so in fact coming here one of the good sisters who uh sister jennifer out of trenton shout out to her and her husband uh she has an uncle who does floors so i'm going to meet with him this weekend and see what type of price he can give also met with some other brothers who do floors and the prices wasn't too bad you know what i mean so once we do that last layer of coat and do them floors we applying for the certificate of occupancy now that the school is here the school is almost done do you think that some of these negroes are going to be protesting the most
Starting point is 00:41:15 yes because they're not going to stop now that i'm open they got to move the goalposts right that's right now it's how many kids what is he teaching how many they're never going to stop because the motivation is slander. See, in the beginning, I thought the motivation was truth. I thought people who question me sincerely just wanted to know, are you scamming us? And then when I started breaking everything down and showing them how I'm not scamming them and we ain't even spent no money because we ain't found no contractors. Hey, what's up? This is Ramses Jha. And I go by the name Q Ward.
Starting point is 00:41:43 And we'd like you to join us each week for our show Civic Cipher. Let's discuss the stories and conduct the interviews that will help us create a more empathetic, accountable,
Starting point is 00:42:21 and equitable America. You are all our brothers and sisters, and we're inviting you to join us for Civic Cipher each and every Saturday with myself, Ramses Jha, Q Ward, and some of the greatest minds in America. Listen to Civic Cipher every Saturday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Then I realized this ain't about the truth.
Starting point is 00:42:42 This is about slander. I just want to be entertained at my expense. So they're just doing this for kicks and giggles. The YouTubian struggle streamers. They will slander my project. These YouTubian struggle streamers. That's what they are. YouTubian struggle streamers.
Starting point is 00:42:57 They will slander my project to get an extra 100 views. Literally, you go to their page. You did all that for 100 views. You thirsty struggle streamer yeah you see what i'm saying so my thing is don't even feed them stay focused on the work i was gonna ask you what were your thoughts on on diddy and everything that's going on with diddy we know what he did was horrific yes what are your thoughts on everything that's happening with diddy yes sir that's all you say if kathy was a dog skin it wouldn't wouldn't even i believe that
Starting point is 00:43:21 absolutely horrific indefensible but the response from the black community in the Charlemagne, I believe, is somewhat hypocritical. And the reason I say that when I look at the amount of black women who are abused in the community and I look at the amount of black people who turn the other cheek to this being a therapist, I see these things. Black women being abused in the church. They're being abused in the temple. They're being abused in a mass. They're being abused in the college. Teenage girls are being abused in the church they're being abused in the temple they're being abused in the masjid they're being abused in the college teenage girls are being abused in their homes by their boyfriends so i see all these black people snapping out on diddy as they should he was wrong but you didn't snap out on your son when he smacked his girlfriend up in front of your face you didn't snap out on your brother when he choked out his fiancee you didn't even you didn't snap out on your husband when he snapped out on you.
Starting point is 00:44:07 So Diddy can be exposed and humiliated and shamed and embarrassed, but not the men in your life. When your son beats on his wife, when your uncle, when your cousin, when your frat brother, when you when your pastor is guilty of doing the same thing Diddy did, it gets a pass. But when Diddy does it he has to be exposed i don't like the double standard that we have i don't like this hypocritical outrage at diddy but we don't see the same thing in the black community for example how many domestic abuse shelters have we opened since the cassie diddy film came out if we had outrage all these single black women being abused with children, how many celebrities or regular black people have opened up domestic abuse? How much money have black has black America donated to the fight against domestic abuse in our community?
Starting point is 00:44:55 Go to the Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic Church admits to 10,000 incidents of sex abuse against children involving over 4,300 pastors or priests since 1950. From 1950 to 2022, between 10,000 and 11,000 incidents of child sex abuse, 4,300 priests. Can I ask you a question? If what Diddy did is so bad, why do we still have 3 million African-American Roman Catholics? If we are against abuse,
Starting point is 00:45:21 help me understand how this is wrong, but molesting our kids are not. Damn. What are your thoughts on the WNBA? In particular, the Kaitlyn Clark-Angel Reese battle. Here's the thing. My thoughts on Kaitlyn Clark and Angel Reese. First of all, much respect to Kaitlyn Clark.
Starting point is 00:45:35 Because to her credit, I don't feel she came into the WNBA acting like she was the savior. I did not get that from her. I got from the white power structure, the Snow Bunny Mafia of the WNBA, that they tried to make her the face of the league before she proved herself. And in doing that, they're overlooking black female athletes
Starting point is 00:45:56 who are much better than Kaitlyn Clark. I mean, you got Asia Wilson for the Los Angeles Aces. This is the first woman in WNBA history to score 35 points, grab 10 rebounds, and get 5 steals. South Carolina's own, baby. You see what I'm saying? So, my thing is, how do you jump to Kaitlyn Clark and overlook
Starting point is 00:46:14 Asia Wilson? Now you take a look at Angel Reese. She's the first player in WNBA history to get 13 straight double-doubles. Not rookie. Period. You see what I'm saying? So, it's going to be interesting when it comes down to the rookie of the year because you know they want to give it to Caitlyn
Starting point is 00:46:26 that's that Snow Bunny privilege but look at what Angel Reese is doing what's your thoughts on Stephen A. Smith what does Stephen A. say about OJ something about OJ Simpson
Starting point is 00:46:35 he was upset I believe that that BET honored him honored him had him in the in memoriam package yeah my view on my brother
Starting point is 00:46:42 Stephen A. Smith I vacillate because one minute he'll say something that i say good like when they gave uh steve nash the brooklyn nets coaching job and he said no black man gets that job with no experience and you're going to coach kd kairi and james harden no black man gets that good job stephen a and then he'll go right back and do something coonish like this if bet wants to to honor OJ, let them honor OJ. White people honor white people who are guilty of things, right?
Starting point is 00:47:10 And let us be clear. Did not OJ get acquitted? He was found innocent. He was found innocent. So Stephen A, if OJ Simpson was found innocent in a court of law, how can you come back, Stephen A. Smith, ith 30 40 years later and say bet was wrong for honoring the man when he was found innocent in court so you're parroting a white supremacist narrative i need stephen a to pick a side and stay on it because he floats back and forth now to his credit at least he does float some of them don't even float they go hard on the white supremacist
Starting point is 00:47:42 narrative and stay there stephen A go back and forth. I need him to pick a side because every time I'm proud of him, like Stephen A did a good job that they breaking this down from a racial standpoint. He'll go right back to Coonan. So I just need him to pick a side and stay on it because I don't know where he stands. God bless the dead. But some people would say, well, now, Dr. Umar, you're defending a bunny hopper and OJ. Great question. I'm not defending the bunny hopping aspect of OJ.
Starting point is 00:48:05 I'm defending the fact that Oj simpson is a black man and when i'm dealing with issues of black men or black people what they do to one of us they can do to any of us and that's why when i look at jonathan major's situation if you would he had no business bunny hopping but does that mean his career should have been destroyed over that incident absolutely because she had a cut on the finger and a cut behind the ear or something like that. So he gets his whole career destroyed. Even though we saw on TV, he ran from the white girl, ran from the white girl. And I don't know if you saw what his lawyer said. Jonathan Mayer, Major's lawyer said he got convicted.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Not necessarily. And I'm paraphrasing. Not necessarily because he abused her but in defending himself from her abuse he was too aggressive what the hell is that and they found that she was guilty of abuse but the prosecutor said they didn't have enough information to charge her look at that so she walks and he gets his career destroyed that's a damn shame even though he's guilty of bunny hopping i don't want to see that happen to any black man because that could happen to me under other situations or circumstances that don't involve a white woman. So even if he's a bunny hopper, I still got to separate that out and look at how the impact of this case can affect all black men.
Starting point is 00:49:19 That's right. We got more with Dr. Umar when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with Dr. Umar Johnson. Charlamagne? What are your thoughts about the power that LeBron has in the Lakers organization? He gets his son drafted and the hiring of J.J. Redick, who's never coached anywhere.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Absolutely. What are your thoughts on that? I'm disappointed in black America because I feel like they're attacking Bronny more than JJ. I agree with you a hundred percent. How the hell is Bronny James getting all this heat from black America, but JJ Redick ain't getting all this heat. JJ Redick ain't never won nothing. He ain't win nothing in college.
Starting point is 00:49:57 He ain't win nothing in the NBA. He wasn't no MVP. I don't know if he was ever first team offense or defense, maybe once or twice, but he clearly don't have the record of a Sam Cassell. Sam Cassell should have been offered that Lakers job, and if not the Lakers job, one of the coaching vacancies. Look at all these good black assistant coaches out there
Starting point is 00:50:13 who are being overlooked for white privilege. J.J. Redick did not earn that position. They gave it to him. But rather than attack that, we're going to attack the 19-year-old kid? I want LeBron to play with his son because the optics of that, I think, will be very positive for young black males. And I think it would be a small motivation for black men to do more with their sons and more with our boys. So I want to see LeBron and Bronny on the same court. With one disclaimer, if I don't catch Bronny James bunny hopping no damn more.
Starting point is 00:50:41 Because if he bunny hopping, I'm not supporting him. Bronny James, I love you, young man. But if I catch you bunny hopping, I'm not supporting him. Bronny James, I love you young man, but if I catch you bunny hopping, I'm done with you. You're not going to be a role model bunny hopping. But outside of that, I want to see LeBron
Starting point is 00:50:52 and his son, right? You want to see that. That's a good thing. LeBron does so much for basketball and the league. He's not the GOAT, that's Kobe and Mike, but he does so much
Starting point is 00:51:01 for basketball and the league. He deserves that. Why hate on that? And that's that black male jealousy. I can't remember how you worded it just now. You said you can't be a hero if he's bunny hopping. You can't be a hero if you're bunny hopping. But Kobe, God bless the dead. Right. MJ, who you both named. No,
Starting point is 00:51:13 I didn't call them role models. Okay. I called them the goats of basketball. Okay. I can't. And Kobe is my personal goat. I think he's the greatest basketball player of all time. Okay. I can't hang his picture up in the Frederick Douglass Marcus Garvey Academy. Because you bunny hopped. I think Eddie Murphy. I'm going to say he's the greatest basketball player of all time. Okay. I can't hang his picture up in a Frederick Douglass Marcus Garvey Academy. Damn. Because you bunny hopped.
Starting point is 00:51:27 I think Eddie Murphy. I'm going to say he's a close second to Richard Pryor, but Eddie's so talented, he may have trumped Richard. But guess what? Eddie and Richard are both bunny hoppers. Eddie got black baby mamas too, though. I know, but his wife is. I don't know. I think she's Caucasian.
Starting point is 00:51:41 I don't even know if he's married. Is he married? I don't know. Well, that last one he was with. You see, Dave Chappelle. I don't even know if he's married. Is he married? I don't know. Well, that last one he was with, you see, Dave Chappelle, I love him for his humor. Dave Chappelle ain't married to a black woman. His picture can't go up in my school.
Starting point is 00:51:52 I love him. I like him. But I can't hold you up as a role model because in order for you to complete that role model process, your queen got to look like your mother. You see what I'm saying? And so I can't hold them up.
Starting point is 00:52:02 I can respect them. I can like them. But role model, meaning black men is to come in your image, in your stead, in your and so I can't hold them up I can respect them I could like them but role model meaning black men is to come in your image in your stead in your path I can't do that and that's what I'm hoping Bronnie James does a bunny hop because he's gonna get a lot of his father's cachet until LeBron's credit he marries Savannah a beautiful African Queen I need Bronnie to do the same thing Kendrick Lamar verse Drake here's my issue with Kendrick Lamar versus Drake first of all shout out to Kendrick I think he's one
Starting point is 00:52:24 of the more socially progressive rappers. Absolutely. I don't see him worshiping materialism like so many of the rest of them do. I like Kendrick. And when he brought those brothers together to celebrate without any violence, the whole community loving it, I thought it was beautiful. Shout out to Kendrick. But Kendrick, I need
Starting point is 00:52:40 you to keep that same energy when it's time to fight against gentrification in Los Angeles because black people are being displaced in extreme numbers in Los Angeles, Compton, South Central, Long Beach, all in that area. So don't just bring our people together to party and to support your beef with Drake. Bring them together to protest, to march and to organize against gentrification. Black incarceration rates in California are some of the highest in the country. Kendrick Lamar. Why don't we organize against that organize to hire some of our young people organize to build a school organize to build a hospital i like what he did but don't tell me you
Starting point is 00:53:13 only did that to celebrate the beef use those brothers bring them back together and achieve something systematically to help our people same thing go for drink you in canada black people in canada struggling but nonetheless, they catching the same hell. Miseducation, mass incarceration, gentrification, police genocide,
Starting point is 00:53:30 economic apartheid. Drake, are you thinking about building a school? Drake, are you going to open up a supermarket? Drake, are you going to open up a farm and teach these young kids
Starting point is 00:53:37 how to farm? Same thing for Kendrick Lamar. Y'all got the money to do it. I'm not pocket watching, but don't bring those people together just to party. You got to bring us together to do something because what you're doing is you're playing on people's emotions.
Starting point is 00:53:47 Black people see Crips and Bloods coming together. Shout out to both of them. Piecing it up, working together, enjoying ourselves with Kendrick. That was good. We need to social. We need a break. We need a release. But brother, we also need political progress.
Starting point is 00:53:58 We also need economic structure. We also need social progress. So don't just limit it to that. Take it to the next level. Do you put black over everything, Dr. Uma? Explain that a little more when you say, do I put black over everything? I asked you a couple of questions in this seat. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:54:10 Black magic or white privilege? Black magic. Black beans or white rice? Black beans. I love black beans. Okay. Black and miles or white owls? I blow black and miles smoke on my ancestor shrine, so I'm going with the black and miles.
Starting point is 00:54:23 Would you rather slip on black ice or play in white snow? Let me slip on the black ice. I'm black over everything. Would you rather be in a blackout or listen to white noise? Would I rather be in a blackout or listen to white noise? I would rather be in a blackout because I do most of my meditation in darkness. Okay, I got it. Would you rather have black gums or white teeth?
Starting point is 00:54:44 Give me the black gums what's worse telling a white lie or being blackballed being blackballed because if you tell a white lie they call it a white lie because it's supposed to be innocent when you're blackballed you're shut out okay with a piano do you hate there's more white keys than black or does it make you happy that the black keys are on top of the white one? It makes me happy that the black keys give you a stronger sound than the white one. Wow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes? They're black with white stripes. Damn. Dr. Omar is really black over everything. Damn. Okay. Starting point is 00:56:36 215-989-9858. That's 215- 989- 9858. There you have it. Dr. Umar. Dr. Umar Johnson. Appreciate you for joining us, brother. Thank you, fellas. Thank you. And it's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. All right. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy,
Starting point is 00:56:52 Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jess with the mess. News is real. Jess don't do no lying. She don't spare nobody. Worldwide Jeff, worldwide message.
Starting point is 00:57:09 On The Breakfast Club. She's a coach of shit. She was able to get y'all to see something and understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to set it off. Okay. So Diddy is enjoying his life and it's angering his alleged victims, or at least their lawyers, it is.
Starting point is 00:57:29 Pictures of Diddy white water rafting and boarding a jet were recently released. And people were upset by the pictures because they feel like Diddy is, you know, living, still like trying to show that he's living his best life. And seemingly ignoring all of the heavy allegations against him right now so the lawyers of cassie and audrey english that was the lady that i reported on yesterday um cassie's lawyer douglas wigdor he said i don't think white white water rafting will prepare him for the choppy waters that lie ahead yo people be so funny with the words they be saying all you gotta do is just say why is he out here doing it that is don't hit the same though i gotta it's gotta hit you know i'm saying i gotta correlate the white water wrapped in which you know his future potential legal troubles choppy water i gotta make it flow uh-huh i was like okay what else is he supposed to do though
Starting point is 00:58:20 that's what i'm saying and then i said yesterday that tyrone blackbone was a black burn was audrey's lawyer but i got that because it came from out of her mouth i clip a clip from a recent interview that she did the interviewer had asked her about tyrone and she was like yeah like he advised me on this that and the other and you know so i'm that's her lawyer but she also has another lawyer ariel Mitchell Kidd. So, yeah, whatever. She has something to say, too. She claimed that Diddy's actions are motivating his alleged victims to pursue justice further.
Starting point is 00:58:54 And she said, after seeing defendant Combs whitewater after and jetting around on his personal plane, seemingly enjoying life despite all the atrocities. I just ate that word up um he has caused and has been accused by countless individuals over decades miss mrs english is even more motivated to ensure justice will prevail but yeah well how is he supposed to be moving down but yeah when y'all say his actions you mean him just living his life like that i just i really want to know what is he supposed to yeah that's what i'm like i'm sure they don't want him outside at all but the thing is the whitewater raft and he didn't even post a picture somebody just a fan just posted a picture of him do it so i mean like you said he lives his life a certain way did he flies private all the time like what do you expect
Starting point is 00:59:37 did he to do if he gave his life to the church and became a pastor folks will complain about that yes they will complain about how dare he be in the church is you know right even though the church is probably where he needs to be to get his soul right he might be in the church i don't know what i'm saying i don't know like once again what is he supposed to do i don't right i i'm not sure is there a way to act when you're facing these kind of uh you know allegations like i don't know how it likes to dom or something i don't know that's what they basically want him to do like not be seen but he gonna live his life diddy dirty money crazy all right so also i ain't gonna do that yet sexy red responds to tour criticism so um she announced that announced
Starting point is 01:00:19 her tour sexy red for president i didn't even know that was the name of the tour but that is so funny um outlet started reporting that tickets were ticket sales were low for the tour so yesterday sexy red decided to address the rumors and there were claims that sexy red only sold 37 percent of available tickets now that is 31 624 tickets which is still a lot of tickets as opposed to what's supposed to be sold that was out of 85 217 tickets so the 85 000 tickets was total tickets for the 20 dates out of the 24 dates of the tour what kind of venues is she doing um this guy just got us in trouble last time last time i said just about making the style and was totally wrong. Because I said she wasn't in the reenact. But what kind of venues is Sexy Red doing? Look, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:01:10 Look, it's like, my fans are buying tickets. We're doing just fine. We're not canceling no tour. This canceling-ish is all cap. And she also said, this is how they try to do when you go with an independent promoter. And the bigger companies try to sabotage you. We're not canceling-ish. She said, I did my touring deal with a black promoter black owned company ag entertainment and now they playing dirty paying pages to spread fake news to discourage my fans
Starting point is 01:01:35 from buying tickets but i don't think that would discourage your fans from buying tickets saying that your ticket sales are low because you're sexy you have a fan base like sexy red like you you are you had you've made a big impact in like Sexy Rick. Like you, you are, you've made a big impact in such a little time on this industry. Your fans, they're loyal to you.
Starting point is 01:01:50 They just like you. So they're going to buy tickets. And also, I'm not the demo because I'm a 46-year-old grown man born in 1978. But I didn't even know she was on tour
Starting point is 01:01:58 until this story came up. I didn't even know she did announce the Sexy Rick story. Yeah, I didn't know that. I didn't know that. And shout to A.G. You know A.G.
Starting point is 01:02:04 is Alex from Atlanta. He owns a bunch of clubs in Atlanta. And I think he helped with the tour with Gunna. I think he helped with the tour I think even with Chris Brown. So he knows what he's doing. And I'm a thousand percent sure
Starting point is 01:02:16 that they will sell out some tickets. But what she should do, I'm not sure if it's arenas or not. And look, I don't care that I don't know. So anybody get mad, that's fine. But I mean, because it's just like, no, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:02:26 But I think it'd be great if she did what JT did. You know, JT did the club dates. That's exactly who Sexy caters to. Yeah, what happened to club dates? And what happened to like House of Blueses? And just doing like theaters. Does everybody feel like you have to? By the way, I don't know if Sexy Red is doing arenas or not. But does everybody feel like you have to i don't by the way i don't know if sexy red is doing arenas or not but does everybody feel like they just have to be
Starting point is 01:02:48 some type of an arena act you know hey what's up this is ramses job and i go by the name q ward and we'd like you to join us each week for our show civic cipher that's right we're going to discuss social issues especially those that affect black and brown people but in a way that informs and empowers all people to hopefully create better allies. If you stand with with us then we stand with you let's discuss the
Starting point is 01:03:27 stories and conduct the interviews that will help us create a more empathetic accountable and equitable America you are all our brothers and sisters and we're inviting you to join us for Civic Cipher each and every Saturday with myself Ramses Jha, Q Ward and some of the greatest minds in America listen to Civic cypher every saturday on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast what kind of career you got to build and what kind of catalog you got to have yeah a lot of real now this is the thing when you said it about when you say what you said about megan okay cool i i seen her as an arena artist me for sexy it is too early for me.
Starting point is 01:04:05 Even with the big impact and the sponsorships, her doing the WWE or whatever and all that. It is too early, in my opinion, for her to do an arena tour. Is she doing arenas? I don't think that she is. She's doing the Barclays, so she must be doing arenas. But I would say this. The reason I don't think it's too early. One, Sexy Red is the biggest artist, one of the biggest artists in the club right now.
Starting point is 01:04:24 When you go to a club, you're playing at least four or five sexy red records probably six sexy red records and not only that it depends on ticket prices if your ticket prices are reasonable and not two three hundred dollars four hundred dollars people will come out and i think sexy red is an artist that can do it now i think they should make it the way you can buy tickets with food stamps but if you can buy tickets with ebt you think you sell out i think immediately sell out that is so funny i don't think it's funny at all no i mean no yeah no but i think it's funny that you just said that uh but the but arenas are like 23 000 people and 18 000 16 000 sometimes yeah yeah i i yeah depending on how they do the seating yeah but i'm just saying like no i in my opinion it is too early although because it's like yo you know how many songs
Starting point is 01:05:10 you have to have to fill that show can you let all holes in free before a certain time at an arena up man you gotta buy a ticket you gotta buy a ticket to get an arena but you know what they would have said the same thing with gunner though right because you look at gunner's catalog and and gunner sells out arenas as well gunner sells out arenas i think sexy red shouldn't have a problem selling out arena and i think she would like i said she is the hottest artist in the club right now as far as records you're playing six sexy red records if you go into a club or you go into a strip club or nightclub or whatever you want to call the day party you're playing six records well get it sexy the six sexy yeah i
Starting point is 01:05:43 didn't mean it like that i mean like like Get It Sexy. Oh, sorry. Go out there and get your money. That's just my job. Well, that is just a mess. All right. Thank you, Jess. Jess, during your baby shower, how many Sexy Bag records did you play? Two.
Starting point is 01:05:54 Oh, okay. You didn't play Get It Sexy? You ain't gonna play I'm Looking For The Holes? That's the best one. You didn't play Drake and Sexy? No, I didn't play Get It Sexy. You didn't play Pound Town? I played Pound Town and Get It Sexy. You didn't play the one with Sizzle? That's how your little ass got pregnant right there.
Starting point is 01:06:06 That's exactly how you got pregnant. That's exactly how your little ass got pregnant. Exactly. Pound Town and then Get It Sexy. That's what we played. That was it. Jesus. All right.
Starting point is 01:06:15 Charlamagne, who you giving your donkey to? We need George Stephanopoulos to come to the front of the congregation. Would you like to have a word with him, please? Yeah, let me tell him to say his last name. That's not his name. That's really his name, I think. Stephanopoulos? No, man, Stephanopoulos.
Starting point is 01:06:28 I ain't saying nothing about no Stephanopoulos. What the hell is wrong with you, buddy? You wouldn't want to be Missy Elliott so bad. Donkey of the Day is up next. Wake up. Wake up. You're locked into the Breakfast Club. Donkey of the Day.
Starting point is 01:06:41 Made it. Damn, the hee-haw again. It's time for Donkey of the Day. I ain't trying to be Donkey of the Day. Maybe. Damn, the hee-haw again. It's time for donkey of the day. I ain't trying to be donkey of the day no more. They should be embarrassed by what they already did. I'm not making these people do these things. I called donkey of the day and it really caught me off guard. Damn, Solomon.
Starting point is 01:06:58 Who got the donkey of the day today? Well, Jeff Hilarious, donkey of the day for Wednesday july 10th goes to george stefanopoulos of abc news uh george is a former white house communications director he's of course a tv commentator political commentator you see him every morning with robin roberts and michael scrahan on good morning america he's a fantastic journalist one of the best out there and that's why it pains me to see someone like him have to apologize for saying exactly how he feels when what he said actually needs to be said see tmz obtained video of george out and about working uh working out in the streets of new york city when a random pedestrian approached him and fresh off the
Starting point is 01:07:35 heels of an interview george did with president biden an interview that was supposed to clean up the mess uh biden made at his debate against trump the pedestrian asked the question that a lot of americans are asking and that question is simply do you think biden should step down well george replied with something the american people don't get too often and that's an honest answer let's listen what do you think do you think biden should step down you talk to him more than anybody else have lately and you could be honest you don't think you can serve four more years all right that's an answer nothing wrong with that answer if folks don't feel like you know biden can serve four more years if folks don't feel like biden can win if folks don't feel like he's physically or mentally capable of you know uh serving four more years and they should say
Starting point is 01:08:20 that because i've been asking a simple question for over a year now is the biden harris ticket a winnable ticket in 2024 most of the polling i'm seeing says no so whether you are a high-ranking democrat in the party or a pundit on tv you cannot lie to the american people about what they see and feel you don't gain the trust of people like that the reason this man in the street asked george about biden was because ge because George has been up close and personal with Biden. He just spoke to him. So it is beyond damaging to hear George say that he doesn't feel President Biden can do four more years. But the follow up question for George should have been, well, who are you going to vote for? I can almost guarantee George would say Biden because George
Starting point is 01:09:01 gives a damn about democracy. I'm sure the pedestrian would say to George, well, if you don't think he can serve four more years, why are you voting for him? George's answer would probably be because these are our choices. OK, Trump and Biden. So I have to choose one. Or you can choose to stay home. I can guarantee you a former senior adviser to the Democratic Party is not going to stay home. Now, why is George getting donkier today because yesterday okay george stephanopoulos apologized for his comment on joe biden's second term white house chances in a statement obtained by nbc news george said earlier today i responded to a question from a passerby i shouldn't have abc news also said in the statement, George expressed his own point of view and not the position of ABC News.
Starting point is 01:09:47 You know why this bothers me? Because journalists like George are people we trust. OK, they're people we trust. So if George thinks Biden, you know, you know, can't serve another four years, you know, he should be allowed to say it and deal with whatever backlash comes with that. But truthfully, it shouldn't be any backlash because we should appreciate a journalist like George telling the truth. Journalists like George owe us the truth. And when the truth is spoken, the Biden campaign should adjust accordingly. The Democratic Party needs to adjust accordingly. The only person making George feel like Biden can't serve another four years is Joe Biden. And the only person who has to convince the American people, people, they are capable of running for four more years is Joe Biden. And if Joe Biden is sitting down with folks like George and George walks away feeling like he can't serve another four years.
Starting point is 01:10:36 Guess whose fault that is? President Biden and his campaign. If folks don't think that ticket can win, then damn it, put together a plan that changes people's minds. Because if you lose in November because you choose to ignore polls, more importantly, you choose to ignore the feelings of the people, then that is your fault. OK, and I'm giving George Donk here today because the only reason he backed off those remarks is because I guarantee the White House threatened ABC with no access if they didn't. I know how this works. They know how damaging what George said about President Biden was. So someone made a call and said, if y'all don't walk this back, we will never sit with
Starting point is 01:11:16 ABC News ever again. All access to the White House and the president and the vice president will be denied. Guaranteed. That's what happened. And that's a damn shame that people would go to those links to suppress the truth. And that is what discourages people in regards to this whole voting thing. You don't lie to people and attempt to finesse people and pee on people's leg and tell them it's raining. Just tell me the truth because I already have eyes and ears. OK, y'all don't want Biden to drop out.
Starting point is 01:11:42 Fine. Y'all don't want Vice President Harris at the top of the ticket. Fine. But don't lie to me about how you feel in regards to this 81-year-old man. If you don't think he can serve another four years, cool. Thank you for confirming what I already believed. But I also know I only got two choices in this coming election. So now that you've told me you don't think he can serve another four years, tell me why I should vote for him anyway. Hey, Trump has 34 felony convictions, charges of fraud, election subversion, you don't think he can serve another four years tell me why i should vote for him anyway hey trump
Starting point is 01:12:05 has 34 felony convictions charges of fraud election subversion obstruction okay he led an attempted coup of this country and he's the primary architect of an institution that is no longer legitimate called the supreme court he selected three of those corrupt ass judges that have abolished roe v wade that have made it legal for state and local officials to accept bribes and made presidents immune to criminal prosecution for official acts in office with all that people still feel like they're going to vote for trump anyway so you mean to tell me that folks can't handle the truth about joe biden joe biden and still vote for him in spite of they can look past all of that with trump but not for biden this is what i mean when i say republicans are more sincere about their lies than democrats
Starting point is 01:12:43 are about their truth republicans have no problem saying so what? Keep it moving. Meanwhile, George Stephanopoulos tells the truth and now he has to apologize for it. Instead of being on Good Morning America this morning, having a discussion about why he feels Biden can't serve for more years, but also why he's probably going to vote for him anyway. Please give George Stephanopoulos the sweet sounds of the Hamilton's. Oh, now you are the donkey of the day. You are the donkey
Starting point is 01:13:16 of the day. Yee-haw. I'm starting to think y'all purposely turned up the heat when I do donkey today for some reason it's been extremely loving you with that little fan yeah I think that's what it is they want to see me do the fan that's what it is it'd be perfectly fine in here you got on a blanket and I'm over here burning up what's going on on that side of the room always giving somebody on with the little shawl that's my blanket i drink my my water my juice and i get cold in the morning i get a little chilly so i just put on my little oh that's menopause bring
Starting point is 01:13:51 a sweater are you not menopause no they do something with this heat they don't know what the heat no that's menopause but most dominican men do uh get menopause around after 45 i'm not dominican that's my stuff please don't the don't the dominican man gonna call up like no we don't don't do all that all right well thank you for that donkey today yes and don't be afraid to tell the truth people trust me the american people can handle it okay okay okay all right now when we come back shout to our funny mark of course comedian 800-585-1051 and he said this yesterday on social media and people were trying to define what this actually means can we play the clip when someone says i'm seeing someone means that you're constantly
Starting point is 01:14:30 seeing them and it's going to be hard for anybody else to get in that schedule so that's the definition of seeing someone meaning that i gotta see this every day so if i don't see him this day and i'm with you they're gonna be wondering what the going on and then that's where the lies begin what is the term seeing someone means? 800-585-1051. All right, if you're out dating out there, what is the time I'm seeing someone? What does that mean? We really have to explain this to these young'uns?
Starting point is 01:14:54 Yes. I don't even know why. That's crazy. When you say you're seeing someone. Yes, ma'am. You're talking to them. You're dating someone. Dating is not like really locked down, but you're seeing someone them you're dating someone dating is not like really locked
Starting point is 01:15:05 down but you're seeing someone so it's seeing someone exclusive or not occupying my time with this person you know why it's exclusive because you wouldn't even bring it up if it wasn't if it wasn't a big deal you know you usually tell somebody i'm seeing somebody if you know and usually what comes after sometimes people don't say what comes after is yeah we're getting serious you know what I'm saying? So that's just that's yeah, I'm dating this one specific person. You know, they're important enough to bring it up. So I wouldn't.
Starting point is 01:15:33 Yeah. So eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. The term seeing someone. What does that mean? Let's describe. Let's talk. I'm seeing someone. Who are you seeing?
Starting point is 01:15:43 Self-explanatory. What are we doing here, man? Who you seeing? My wife. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Fool. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:15:57 It's topic time. Call 800-585-1051 to join in to the discussion with the Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you're just joining us, we're talking about a clip that went viral yesterday about Funny Marco saying, seeing somebody, and this is what he said. When someone says, I'm seeing someone, it means that you're constantly seeing them,
Starting point is 01:16:21 and it's going to be hard for anybody else to get in that schedule. So that's the definition of seeing someone, meaning i gotta see this every day so if i don't see him this day and i'm with you they're gonna be wondering what the going on and then that's where the lies begin who asked funny marco that and when did funny marco start giving relationship advice and and he said it for really and that's the definition of seeing someone yeah i think that we should listen to any relationship advice from cosmetically challenged people. What? Oh my God, I love the way that sounds. Wait, wait.
Starting point is 01:16:49 I'm confused. Because somebody you're saying is ugly. I ain't say that man was ugly. Boy, you're disrespectful. I did not say that man was ugly. What does cosmetically challenge mean? It don't mean ugly. That's like... You said ugly. That's messed up. That don't mean fat. Marco, get on his ass. All I said was cosmetically challenged.
Starting point is 01:17:06 This man won't call you ugly. What does that mean? That's like somebody say overweight. Overweight means fat. What? That is not the same thing. It's the same terms. Not the same.
Starting point is 01:17:12 No, it is not. What does cosmetically challenge mean? Cosmetically challenge mean that you have some challenges with your look. With the cosmetics. But some things can be changed. Like, you know, Marco... Yeah. Marco has, you know, spoken about wanting to get with my dermatologist.-hmm you know but he's seen some banks mm-hmm yeah that's all
Starting point is 01:17:29 so they don't mean ugly means cosmetically challenged it's like when they say you not ugly you just broke you call that man ugly did you call him that no I did not you did no I did not he do give seal down and i'm not even saying still ugly but like yes for all them white women yes that's true too oh my goodness sorry funny marco anyway we're just asking sorry what does the term seeing somebody mean it means that you're seriously like you getting you get oh somebody on the phone no you okay you you getting serious with somebody like you're you're date you're you're still in that dating process but you're serious you're getting serious with them i'm seeing somebody as opposed to oh i'm
Starting point is 01:18:16 just talking to somebody i'm talking to somebody all right so so let me just break down the steps i've been after this game a long time. So it's dating, then seeing somebody, then engaged, then married? Yeah, I would say that. Okay. First of all, seeing somebody definitely means that you're in some type of relationship. Because if you weren't, you wouldn't even bring it up. Like if you hollered at a girl or a guy or whatever it is, or a they, and y'all were kicking it. And you know, you said to that person, hey, I just want you to know I'm seeing somebody.
Starting point is 01:18:42 You letting them know that you are in some type of relationship. So it's like y'all done together. Yeah, because why would you bring it up if it's not a serious situation? Yo, don't ever holler at a they. What's wrong? They need love too? What's wrong with y'all this morning? Why y'all want to offend ugly people in the heat?
Starting point is 01:19:02 Hello, who's this? Good morning, good morning, good morning. Good morning. Talk to us. What does seeing somebody mean, bro? I want to say good morning to DJ Envy, Charlamagne, and Jeff Hilarious. Congratulations on your reproductive thing that you're doing. Your reproductive system that's working, okay.
Starting point is 01:19:18 Thank you. Reproductive thing. Reproductive thing. That would be pregnancy, ladies and gentlemen. But listen, though, listen, right? Seeing somebody, the same thing as dating. reproductive thing that would be pregnancy ladies and gentlemen but listen though listen right seeing somebody the same thing as dating i spoke to y'all before about my book don't put marriage rules in dating i suggest people date multiple people because you're leaving your options open if you got a job right you know how employers they hire employees they hire multiple employees
Starting point is 01:19:42 to see who's fit for the job you're hiring a lifetime employee you're hiring a lifetime that's not that's not the same if you hired multiple people for one position yeah to see who's best for that position that would make more sense but you hire multiple people because you need a crew a lot of times right you mean you interview multiple people to see yes correct yes the position yes but that's not even what the term is that the phrase is um I'm seeing someone right so that they're just they're not pluralizing it they're singular like I'm seeing somebody hello I'm sorry you know you can't cut her off he would say, go ahead. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 01:20:28 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's Alex. Hello, Alex. Hey, Alex. What's going on? Yo, what's up? Hey, awkward-ass pauses. We're just listening to you. We were trying to figure out what the hell's going on.
Starting point is 01:20:40 What's up? What you want? You guys are talking about Funny Marco, right? Yes. All right. going on what's up what you want so you guys you guys talk about funny marco right yes all right so for my definition i kind of agree with jess what she said first you date somebody and you kind of get the vibe from them and then you take it further of saying you know your buddies are to another potential date saying oh i'm seeing somebody then that's getting more serious like your future you know like five years yeah and then yeah you get further into that it's engagement and then it's like 10 15 years you're seeing further into that and building a life like a house and all that yeah okay thank
Starting point is 01:21:18 you yeah you said what could i add something else before y'all hang up? Sure, go ahead, Alex. What's up? All right, I've been seeing a lot of it happening in Gaza and the children in the hospital, and they bombed the school with the kids in it. Why is it Joe Biden or nobody helping? I don't get it. Well, I mean, he's helping. He's helping Israel. He's funding the military.
Starting point is 01:21:44 That's what I'm saying like why Israel like what do they gotta oh you mean you mean you want him to uh help the kids to encourage
Starting point is 01:21:51 to encourage a ceasefire is what you're saying yeah like it's crazy bro like like I be at work and I work construction and like I'm trying
Starting point is 01:21:58 not to cry in front of these guys cause it's so sad with what I'm seeing damn it's just it's insane it's insane just keep but yeah uh yeah you know well thank you for your call guys yeah 800-585-1051 we're talking the term seeing someone
Starting point is 01:22:14 all right marco funny marco said that yesterday we're just asking what's the definition of seeing somebody it's the time call 800-585-1051 to join into the discussion with the breakfast club morning everybody is dj envy just hilarious charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club if you're just joining us we're talking about a clip that went viral yesterday. Funny Marco. Salute to Funny Marco. He was talking about seeing somebody, and we're asking, what is the definition of seeing somebody?
Starting point is 01:22:53 We open up the phone lines, and we got Van on the line. Van, good morning. Hey, what's up, DJ Envy, Charlamagne, Jess. Peace, man. How y'all doing today? Good, good, brother. Good morning. Less black and highly favored.
Starting point is 01:23:02 How you doing, brother? I'm doing good, man. I just wanted to touch on the topic. Yep. Good morning. What's up, brother? Bless Black and Highly Favored. How you doing, brother? I'm doing good, man. I just wanted to touch on a topic. Yep. So for my generation, we don't really say we're staying home. We say we're talking to people. But that don't mean you're dating.
Starting point is 01:23:16 You can talk to many people. We say we're talking to them. What's your generation? How old are you? He old. I was born in 1990s. Oh, please. For real? I was born in... Hey, what's up?
Starting point is 01:23:26 This is Ramses Jha. And I go by the name Q Ward. And we'd like you to join us each week for our show Civic Cipher. That's right. We're going to discuss social issues, especially those that affect black and brown people, but in a way that informs and empowers all people to hopefully create better allies. Think of it as a black show for non-black people. We discuss everything from prejudice to politics to police violence, and we try to give you the tools to create positive change in your home, workplace and social circle. Exactly. Whether you're black, Asian, white, Latinx, indigenous, LGBTQ plus, you name it. If you stand with us, then we stand with you. Let's discuss the stories and conduct the interviews that will help us create a more empathetic,
Starting point is 01:24:06 accountable, and equitable America.
Starting point is 01:24:26 1978. You know, our generation, you Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. 1978. You know, our generation, you know, we used to say we going together. And then our parents would be like, where y'all going? Absolutely. Absolutely. Can I say one more quick thing real quick? Yes, sir. Something you said earlier.
Starting point is 01:24:40 I love you guys. You're a voice for the black community. It pains me when you say that there's only two options in this year's election. There's actually a third viable candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who just hit 20%. And in a three-way election, you only need 34%. So he's definitely a viable candidate. And I encourage all my black folks to look up his policy. All right, brother.
Starting point is 01:25:07 I mean, listen, yes. I mean, technically, there are more options. But you got to be honest. We know how this rolls. Right. Correct. You said 1%. And the other ones have, what, 48% and 49% or 48% and 47% and some undecided.
Starting point is 01:25:21 And it does bug me out that ever since 2016, where you had candidates that people don't necessarily love, whether it's the Hillarys or the Trumps or the Bidens and the Trumps, it is amazing to me that no real viable third-party option has been able to come up. Hello, who's this? This is Mark. Mark, good morning. Good morning, good morning.
Starting point is 01:25:41 Hey, what's up, bro? We're talking about the term seeing somebody What's your thoughts? Yes, sir My thought is that it's like pre-dating It's kind of like a I look at relationships as Pass them out to like
Starting point is 01:25:54 The hiring process, right? So when you got candidates You're just seeing them And then when you get exclusive It's more of a You know, now you're dating Now you're dating. Okay. I don't believe that because there is no reason to tell somebody you seeing someone if it's not serious.
Starting point is 01:26:13 Because, like, say I'm interested, right? Say there's a person that wants to holler at me and I'm talking to them and I go, well, I'm seeing someone. Isn't that going to discourage that person? Exactly. So why even bring it up? Absolutely, but I think that that's a weapon for women to like you know if they're not interested they kind of say i'm speeding somebody just to kind of never mind you no you've been rejected a lot of times no that's not what people say no you just don't talk to the person if somebody if somebody's saying that to you and they actually don't mean
Starting point is 01:26:41 it that's you that's on you you know what'm saying? But usually it's said when somebody is seriously seeing somebody, not to curve someone. I look at it as if it curves someone. Sometimes a person, or they just might feel like they have too many candidates. Like they're kind of about to make that decision to go exclusive. I wonder, does that make a man feel better if the woman like, oh, I'm seeing someone, than the man? Like say I'm funny Marco and I can go back and be like, well, she a man feel better if the woman like, oh, I'm seeing someone than the man, like say I'm funny Marco
Starting point is 01:27:06 and I can go back and be like, well, she said she would holler at me, you know, but she's seeing someone. Or do you just feel that in your mind? Like, I probably could have got with her, but she's seeing someone right now.
Starting point is 01:27:15 Maybe. Yeah. Yeah. I just think it's the truth. She being truthful. Jessica. What? Yes, yes, yes.
Starting point is 01:27:23 Oh, I'm sorry he just my bad Jessica what's your thoughts seeing somebody seeing somebody yeah you are exclusive it's no
Starting point is 01:27:33 nobody else you shouldn't have nothing let them little homegirls know hey I'm getting serious with this young lady I'm getting you know you ladies
Starting point is 01:27:41 let a man know y'all getting serious with somebody hey be on your your grown folks stuff you know your ladies let a man know y'all getting serious with somebody hey be on your your grown folks stuff you know you gotta be promiscuous okay yeah you ain't gotta be promiscuous you know seeing someone yeah definitely exclusive okay thank you jessica i agree like i don't see why you would tell somebody you seeing someone if you know it don't mean nothing what's the point
Starting point is 01:28:02 of bringing it up but i think most people say that usually when they want to get out of a awkward situation like when somebody's trying to kick it to you like oh i'm seeing somebody like i hear i would i think i would hear it a lot then if you're trying to get out you say i'm married yeah you just yeah or i'm gay i used to always do that you gay i know i'm saying i used to for that one. Guys would try to holler at me and I would be like, I'm gay. That's why everybody think you a little stud now. This is not, they not talking, we not going to the different departments.
Starting point is 01:28:33 We dead gay. You don't have to break it down to a stud. No, but them guys would be like, guys be like, I tried to holler at Jess. She told me she like girls. They be like, oh, everybody know she a stud. Right, that don't mean that she a stud. No. That just mean like, oh, Jess was gay before. No. You give stud energy, Jess.
Starting point is 01:28:48 You give femme stud energy. I'm a stud magnet. I'm a stud magnet. Charlamagne 2. You definitely a stud magnet. Charlamagne 2, though. What's the moral of the story, though? Jess?
Starting point is 01:28:58 If you're seeing somebody, you're dating them. Like, you're getting serious with them. So that's just what the definition is i'm seriously um i'm on my way to being exclusive with someone so that's just what it is all right that's that's the moral of the story i'm seeing somebody i'm seeing them that's it walk off and for the record i don't attract studs okay i attract big gay okay i'm talking about super feminine gay men yeah okay i think it's kind of both for you. Yeah, Stud's just like,
Starting point is 01:29:27 I'm the homie, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, they like being around him, yeah. But the gay men? They be like, less than. I'm on,
Starting point is 01:29:33 they got me on their walls. I'm telling you. He loves it too. He loves every little bit of it. What's wrong with that? Nothing. I appreciate it. Nothing.
Starting point is 01:29:39 Nothing. They got me in their walls. Boy, what? Big Sexy want me to walk down the highway with them right now. You should. You really should. Walk down the highway. We got just with the best coming up.
Starting point is 01:29:58 Yes. Apparently, Pimp C was mad at Andre 3000 after submitting the Players Anthem verse. Really? Yeah. That's what Andre said, so we're going to get into that. All right, it's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:30:16 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jess with the mess. News is real. We're in the headlines. Jess is robbing more. Jess don't in the headlines. Jess Carabamore. Jess don't do no lying.
Starting point is 01:30:27 Jess don't do no lying. She don't spare nobody. Worldwide Jess. Worldwide mess. On The Breakfast Club. She's a coach of shit. She was able to get y'all to see something and understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to set
Starting point is 01:30:45 it off yo real quick you know i know i only got four minutes but whatever look you know look at this like when i turn to the side that piece right there really kills me every single time what the bdb yes yeah that's like the struggle of it yeah but it's always like that though no my head's not always like this you must be talking about your sister or something. Wow. Yeah, I have a sister. Live down south or something. Don't get me wrong.
Starting point is 01:31:11 It's always like that. You don't ever even see the back of my hair, so shut up. All right, listen. Andre 3000 speaks on iconic verse. So he appeared on a recent episode of The Shop. And during the conversation, Paul Rivera asked him about his verse on International Players Anthem with UGK. Dre's verse on that song is debatably one of the most iconic verses in hip-hop. But apparently, everybody didn't feel that way in the beginning during the making of the song. And this is what he said.
Starting point is 01:31:38 The UGK verse. Oh, of course. Which, rest in peace, Pimp. But I got a story about that. Pimp was so mad at me because they sent the beat and I wrote my verse, put my verse down, and I took the beat out for me to rap. When I sent it back to them, Pimp was like, man, this mother, man, this gonna take my beat out.
Starting point is 01:31:59 Like, who the he think he is? He was really mad at the choice that I made to take the beat and I think I don't know if it was Bun or somebody. It was like, nah but you understand when that beat dropped though, it set it off so it's almost like a set up. For you. For you. So it worked and once he got there
Starting point is 01:32:18 he was like okay, okay but he was so mad at me. Yeah, that's still one of the hardest songs ever. That song is a classic. It's one of my favorite hip-hop songs ever. Yeah, I can
Starting point is 01:32:27 understand. I love that song. Yeah, and I can understand why Pimp C would be upset because, you know, if you made a beat and Andre
Starting point is 01:32:32 3000 sent it back and he ain't rapping over the beat, you're like, what, you ain't like my beat? But it was the right artistic choice.
Starting point is 01:32:38 Yes. Because when that beat drops and Pimp C comes in, my bitch at Tuesday, lover never without a rubber, never in
Starting point is 01:32:44 the sheets flaking on top of the cobblers money on the dancer grab a compressor top notch play that four times at my baby shower
Starting point is 01:32:52 crash me oh we played that four times at my baby shower so yeah did you okay I'll let that sit
Starting point is 01:32:58 yes that's my jam like I don't play with it damn Max said he would've known that if he would've got invited alright anyway so this is what we're doing. This is what we're doing.
Starting point is 01:33:07 Evelyn Lozada exposes Jackie Christie. So I know y'all probably don't watch Basketball Wives, but for the women that do, on this week's episode of it, Evelyn found some interesting information on Jackie Christie. Evelyn and Jackie are both longtime cast members on the show and always had a complicated on and off friendship. So clearly they're not friends in this season. They trying to hold on with them ratings. longtime cast members on the show and always had a complicated on and off friendship so clearly they're not friends in this season they try to hold on with them ratings i'm telling you because the beef don't even make sense at this point uh most people know that jackie christie for uh being
Starting point is 01:33:35 married to retired nba player doug christie for over 25 years actually i think she'd only been married on there so a basketball player so it was like her show sort of um it makes sense that she's on there but jackie surprised the ladies on the show when she revealed her marriage to doug was her fourth marriage nobody knew that she was married three times before so following that news evelyn took it upon herself to hire a private investigator to dig into this woman's life her past life this is what they came up with. I use a specific database and the subject that you asked me to search, I came up, she's got 15 total names. I have a full preliminary background and it looks like she was arrested.
Starting point is 01:34:19 Holy. Jackie Marie Wilson was arrested for prostitution for October 20th, 87. Yeah, so it was a misdemeanor and it looks like she was she was charged. Looks like according to this, which we have to verify, it looks like she was convicted. Everyone got a lot of money to waste, a lot of time to waste. Because, like, what do we, what is this? Why are we doing this? But the thing is, Jackie was reportedly born in 1969. So if the prosecution charge is legit. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:35:04 So if she was boy shut up boy because you only like six years younger than her so just he said it like now he's far away yeah like there with him okay damn i'm jess oh my god no she oldest ish that's way that's how he said it Oh, my goodness. Then that means she was only 18 when it happened. Her name was Jackie Marie Wilson at the time of the arrest. Because aside from the fact that she was reportedly, she had like 15 other names, which Evelyn recovered in her private investigation. She was also married to a man named George Wilson. That's how she got that last name. But regardless of what the private investigator found, like, Evelyn, why?
Starting point is 01:35:47 Why? I'm talking about these ratings got to stay alive. Shawnee said, I don't care if y'all got to go back and forth. Shawnee still got something to do with this show? This is Shawnee's show. Shawnee O'Neal. This is her show. Has she ever had another cast?
Starting point is 01:36:00 Because I feel like Basketball Wives has been on forever. Forever. Has there ever been another cast? No, Evelyn left for a minute, then she came back and they like came back in and out I love in hip-hop always has a different cast and I've never I don't know maybe I just haven't been paying attention I had to say yeah, they need to recast to love me about but at least love hip-hop adds new people They don't never really like take people off. They just add new people basketball wives They've been the same girls rotating and now trying to find different beefs to stick
Starting point is 01:36:27 with like on the show somebody may bring a friend of a friend and then they be corny and it is yeah so but that's still Shawny O'Neal show but the only one who I believe belongs on the show is Jackie Christie she the only one married to a basketball play you know former best boy my right why is it called basketball belongs on the show is Jackie Christie. She's the only one married to a basketball player. You know, former basketball player. Married. Why is it called Basketball Wives? Anyway, that's Jess with the mess. Thank you, Jess. Now, the People's Choice Mix is up next.
