He goes, just give it a shot. But if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. In 2023, Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd was accused of fathering twins. But the pregnancy appeared to be a hoax. You doctored this particular test twice, Ms. Ellen's, right?
Starting point is 00:01:29 I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg, a lesbian. Michael Mancini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Daniel Alarcon, and this is my friend. This is much more famous than I am. I wouldn't go that far, but I'm John Green, co-hosted the podcast The Away End with my old friend Daniel. On our podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup.
Starting point is 00:02:14 Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Program your alarm to Power 105.1 on IHeartRadio. Good morning, USA.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, Joe, Joe. Salome de Gah. Peace to the planet, it is Monday. Hey, good morning. How y' y'all feel out there. I feel blessed black and highly favored. Happy to be here, another day to serve our beautiful listeners.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. And happy for a Today is 420. Hell yeah. Happy 420. That don't mean nothing to nobody but the weed smokers.
Starting point is 00:03:02 So, look to y'all. And it's a big Monday. But y'all going to get high regardless. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Well, sometimes people who don't smoke, this is their day that they smoke. This is the 420 that they recreation is smoking. I would hope that on a Monday, just a random Monday, that you end up here getting high for no reason.
Starting point is 00:03:18 They all. Get your life together. After work, they will. Okay. I need a reason. How was your weekend, Jess? It was pretty good. Happy anniversary.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Thank you so much. It was my one year anniversary. Police as per female. No, it's not. Shut up. No, don't, shut up. Shut up. No.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Friday, Chris took me to the spa called Ancient Air Ancient Babs. It's where they shot the Johnwick movie. In the city. Fire. Used to be at all radio station. Yes. And we did the Seasol bath.
Starting point is 00:03:49 We had the 60-minute couples massage and everything like that. Did you do the cold plunge? Yes, I did. But we did that at the end. That was my first time ever doing it. See, Chris, he ran. trek so he always like be doing a cold plunges or whatever I thought I would never do but I got
Starting point is 00:04:00 I did it and yo the benefit of it is like you it recharges you it just seems like you just woke up for the day you got you can run up like 5 50 miles 50 miles if you want to so I did a cold plunge before we left and then we went to eye pick and we saw the movie um the mummy
Starting point is 00:04:16 the new mummy how was it trash okay sorry yeah like they they completely change it I think they were trying to because James won Lee Cronin and Bloomhouse did this one so I think they tried to make it a little too scary and it's like this is not what the mummy was so I don't know it's it was it wasn't good
Starting point is 00:04:32 but then Saturday we went to go enjoy Tyrese Tank Tamar Braxton next Silk and Lloyd right how was that UBSS and Tyrese really closed the show he did he did but I feel like yo Tank took a lot of his set I ain't going man I'm telling you this is what they do they warm the crowd up
Starting point is 00:04:50 and they take and they take you back say like all right let me see what the women got and then he starts saying Emergey Blige I'm going down. Then they sing, um, living for the love of you. And the Algreen and all that. Tank did that. And then Tyrese went last and did the same exact thing. And the audience was like, hey-yo. We heard this already. We literally just heard this whole thing. But Tank was playing the whole
Starting point is 00:05:12 time. Like, you know, he's saying, but he was playing. Like, he was still like in versus battle mode. And that's what I felt like they was doing. I don't know if there's like some, some friendly, robbery thing they got going on. But that's exactly what it. But Tyrese was serious. And Genuine was not there. I was not there and I was pissed. He was his schedule to be there. He was in Orlando, Florida.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Jacksonville. Well, Keith sweat in him. No, you got to get his money. I'll tell you one thing. But they put him on the flyer. Speaking of the South, there's nothing more depressing than being down south, wearing shorts and T-shirts, and then coming back to the Tri-State area and the New Jersey, New York area and having to wear hoodies and jackets.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Okay. Oh, it was hot over the weekend down south? What? It was springtime. It's springtime everywhere, but here. It was 70-80. It was, what, 70-80? degrees last week, but this week is back to the 40.
Starting point is 00:06:00 I had to turn the heat back on. There's nothing more depressing. I had the fireplace on yesterday. Oh, wow. But that's because I was at my daughter's track meet for a couple of hours, so you're out there in the cold and in the rain, which I don't think they should be letting those kids do. You can just cancel that stuff.
Starting point is 00:06:13 But they have to have the fireplace on in the middle of spring, oh my God. It's ridiculous. There's nothing more depressing than that. Salute to all the dance dads to my daughters had dance over the weekend, so I was there the whole weekend. But you was in the building. Yeah, I was in the building. Not sitting in the bleachers.
Starting point is 00:06:26 No, thank you. Thank God. Dealing with the elements. Thank God. Well, let's get the show cracking. Can we start off with some styles P, please? Ooh. Oh, because it's 420?
Starting point is 00:06:35 Because it's 420. That's right. Go do drugs, y'all. Hey. After work. All right. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Mimi's up next, y'all next year. Front page news. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Just hilarious. Sholameen the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news.
Starting point is 00:06:50 You think people really do still care about 420 like that. The only reason I say that is because weed is legal, you know, in a lot of different states. Is there something to even celebrate anymore? It's just something to do. Because the casual smokers don't really smoke like that. So 420 is the day for a lot of casual smokers do smoke.
Starting point is 00:07:06 And they celebrate it and all of the dispensaries get packed. Oh, yeah, it is. It was more fun when it was illegal. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, it was. It was more fun. Now everybody doing it, whatever. Well, let's get in some front page.
Starting point is 00:07:16 You know, start off with playoffs now, NBA playoffs. Cavaliers beat the Raptors, 126, 113. The Nuggets beat the Timberwolves, 116. 105. The Knicks beat the Hawks, 113, 102. The Lakers beat the Rockets, 107-98. The Celtics beat the 76s. The Thunder beat the Suns.
Starting point is 00:07:32 The Magic beat the Pistons. And the Spurs beat the Trailblazes. I watched every game yesterday, and I was not impressive. The Orlando Detroit game was good. But other than that, but NBA is, it's mid. What change? Damn, every man be talking about it like that. A lot of them were injured.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I know, of course, Luca was injured. K.D. was injured. No injuries. It's just mid. And the Pistons got blown. Orlando Pissons. No, it wasn't a blowout. Yeah, it beat about 11, 12.
Starting point is 00:08:00 Yeah, but if you watched the game, it wasn't a blowout. They were in control like the last, maybe quarter and a half. Nah, last half. They were up a lot. No. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:09 I watched the game. Me too. It wasn't a blowout. What's up, Mimi? Good morning. Everyone, how y'all doing this morning? Middle part, bust down. What's going on, Mimi?
Starting point is 00:08:19 Thank you, girl. Good morning. So we start this morning with escalating tensions with the war and I ran. Just hours. after the U.S. announcing another round of peace talk set for today in Pakistan. So over the weekend, a major escalation at sea, the U.S. seizing a cargo ship near the Strait of Pamoos. A move Iran is now calling a violation of the ceasefire.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Here's the latest. This morning, tensions escalating fast in the Strader for Moose, just days before a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is set. to expire. The Pentagon releasing dramatic video showing the moment U.S. forces fire on and seize an Iranian-flagged cargo ship. This comes just days after Iranian forces opened fire on two Indian-registered ships in the same waters. Officials say the vessel ignored repeated warnings for nearly six hours as it tried to push past an American naval blockade. Raising fears this critical global oil route could soon spiral further out of control. Maybe I won't extend it.
Starting point is 00:09:35 So you have a blockade and unfortunately we'll have to start dropping bombs again. Jesus. Yeah, and that's President Trump threatening to drop bombs at ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. That is set to expire on Wednesday. And there's still no confirmation this morning if Iran will take part in those planned peace talks. that are planned for today. And over the weekend, a bit of a back and forth with the straight being open, the straight being closed.
Starting point is 00:10:00 But Iran says it's closed now. After the U.S. said that it will keep its blockade in place. And President Trump tweeting over the weekend that he is no more Mr. Nice Guy. I heard they said that with the peace talks today that they're only going to talk if J.D. Vance comes. I guess J.D. Vance wasn't going to come? So they're saying only if J.
Starting point is 00:10:20 He wasn't going to come. Go ahead. I'm sorry. No, I was asking. Yeah, he wasn't going to. to come, but there's talks that he will come, he won't come, and that's the thing, but here's the thing. Pause.
Starting point is 00:10:30 Iran show up to the peace talks. That's the thing. They said that they're not going to show up just because they seized that vote in the middle of the street of her moves. Gotcha. Who knows? And meanwhile, back here at home, a major change to voting laws that's already taking shape. So we've been talking about this. President Trump's election bill, known as
Starting point is 00:10:48 the Save Act. It stalled in the Senate for weeks, but Washington, while they debate it, states are moving forward with it on their own. So Florida, Mississippi, Utah, and South Dakota, if you're in those states, this is for you. They have all passed new laws requiring proof of citizenship like a passport or birth certificate to register to vote, and more states are lining up with similar proposals. So supporters say this is all about election security, making sure only eligible voters are on the rolls. But critics warned it could create new hurdles for millions of Americans. We've talked about this.
Starting point is 00:11:22 So for an example, half of Americans don't have a passport and getting documents like a birth certificate isn't always easy. And in Florida, Democratic State Senator Sherwin Jones, he's talking about how this is already impacting one of his constituents. Let's listen. There has already been a case. She can't locate her birth certificate. Why? She was born back in the 1920s, 1930. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:47 So just minutes after that bill passed in Florida, there's already been leaving. legal challenges. So voter rights groups say it would disproportionately affect older black voters, for an example, especially people who were born during Jim Crow laws, and many people were never given the proper documents to begin with. So, of course, concerns for married people, transgender people, because matching those names to your records could be complicated. And genders? Yes. The Save Act, it has passed in states, Florida, Mississippi, Utah, and South Dakota. So something to be on the lookout as we approach midterms.
Starting point is 00:12:24 So question, what about real IDs when it comes to the world? Real IDs do not count. They do not count. I've seen the Kardashian father saying he was having a hard time too. They're saying because I guess he changed. He's not the father anymore. He's the mother. You need to be more respectful.
Starting point is 00:12:39 But they still call him dead. They call him dead. Don't confuse me. They should call him mad. Yes. Caitlin Jenner has come out. And she says she sent President Trump a letter. He hasn't gotten back to her.
Starting point is 00:12:51 yet on, you know, the status. You don't know who to reply to you. You got two different address. Damn, yo. She said that she is still fighting to get that taken care of. So yes, M.B. Caitlin Jenner has also facing some of these same issues. But coming up at 7, a weekend tragedy that's leaving a lot of people asking how
Starting point is 00:13:12 something like this could happen. Yeah. We'll get into the details of what we know this morning. That's coming up in the next hour. All right. Thank you, Mimi. But could you imagine being a TSA agent and like what do you do at that point?
Starting point is 00:13:23 I don't know. It says male, but it's a female. I know. What do you do? I know. I don't know. I haven't heard about that at the TSA. That's not what Kate.
Starting point is 00:13:32 But don't you have to go and get like a new ID once you transform? I don't see the real ID push like I used to either. Remember there was a push for real idea? I don't see the real ID push like I used to. Well, get it off your chest. 800-585-105-1. If you need to vent phone lines are wide open again. 800-585-105-1.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Let us know how your weekend was. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. This is your time to get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on the breakfast club. Hello, who's this? What's going on, Evie?
Starting point is 00:14:05 What's up, brother? What's your name? Ma'am. What's your name? What's going on? What's going on, Jack? Peace, King. Sending you positive energy, love, and light this morning, my brother.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Thank you, my brother. I just want to call because I'm going through something. with my baby mother right now. You know, I was a little infant down in the past, and it caught up to me, and I just want to apologize to you, Key, in front of the whole tri-state area with the whole country.
Starting point is 00:14:32 I love you, and I hope one day to get my family back. That's all you can do, my brother. Remember the best apology is change behavior, my brother. Give us some space, though. Absolutely, and I'm working on myself, so. That's all you can do, man. I hope she hears me. All right, brother.
Starting point is 00:14:46 I hope she hears you, too. That's all you can do. Keep being persistent and consistent. Like Salomey said, change behavior is the number one thing. That part. Appreciate you. All right, brother. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:14:56 Hi, this is Jennifer. Hey, Jennifer. Good morning. Morning. Morning. Morning. I wish it was a good morning. All I can say is morning.
Starting point is 00:15:03 What happens? It's fine. So, after, you know, a woman's intuition never fails. But, you know, men have their ways of trying to convince you of otherwise. And this morning, I had a feeling, and I went searching, and I found exactly what was disturbing this feeling. And it turns out he's a stomach. bag and he's been doing him after
Starting point is 00:15:20 been trying to make me feel like it was always me and I was moving crazy but it was always him and I caught him on it. His name is not Marriss. His name is Keith his name is Keith Buh. Okay. His name is Keith Bucke and he's trashed. What you're calling from? Well, I was calling from Brooklyn. I'm leaving
Starting point is 00:15:38 Brooklyn. I'm from Long Island. I don't need to sue Brooklyn. I've been coming out of Brooklyn just for his ass to show him that I actually cared but I should have never been coming out this way because I hate Brooklyn. Listen, was he sleeping with a man?
Starting point is 00:15:53 Wow. Sure. Was he sleeping with another man? If he was sleeping with another man, I'd probably take it a little easier. Wow. Oh, okay, okay. I watched too much Tyler Perry movies.
Starting point is 00:16:03 I just had to make sure. So you would take it a little bit easier. So, so, are you going to... I take it a little bit easier because I know what ain't me. It's him. It clearly he didn't know him. Okay, you can't compete with a man. So, yeah, yeah, I definitely understand.
Starting point is 00:16:16 But damn, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. So what are you? going to do? I know you're calling the radio station venting right now, so you're feeling away, but what are you planning to do? I don't last. I last. I got all my sh**s in my car. I made sure I went back to the apartment to wake his ass up, let him see his phone because I got it in his phone. I recovered all the messages, all the nasty ass videos and nasty ass ex messages and all the nasty ass shot. I got him and I showed him and I left.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Ooh, wow. Was she pretty at least? No, she's hurting. No. No. No. Do you know who she is? Nope, I sure don't. Oh, okay. What are you doing the right thing? I'm wishing you the best. We send it you positive energy, love and light, man.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Take your ass back to Long Island. Good. Thank you. I send you guys nothing but love and positive energy and blessed days today and more to come. And thank you so much for letting me back. And we're glad you didn't do anything stupid. Yes.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Okay. But did you? Because he ain't worth it. No. She clearly didn't. No. Woke him up. No.
Starting point is 00:17:15 No. Did not. Good. All right. And left. Yes. All right, Mama. Peace.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Well, enjoy your day. Try to have a blessed day. Very descriptive of you. I love your story. I know. It's 420. Maybe go smoke or something. I am already on it.
Starting point is 00:17:28 I am already on it. Thank you. Take care, guys. Enjoy your day. You too. I love her storytelling ability. The fact that she included shots.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Yes. That means a lot. Yes. You can't say that on air. That's wild. You can bleed me. Get it off your chest. 800-585-105-1.
Starting point is 00:17:45 If you need to vent, hit us up now. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Ray, Ray, Ray. Yo, Sala Man. Envy, what up? Are we live? This is your time to get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:17:55 I got an indoor pool. I'm outdoor pool. We want to hear from you on the breakfast club. We can get on the phone right now. He'll tell you what it is. We live? Hello, who's this? Yeah, it was Deep and I, 6th, 4.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Good morning. What's up? Get it off your chest. What's happening, Dee? What's going on? Hey, man. I went to Cardi B show Saturday night, man. It was amazing, man.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Oh, Cardi B and Atlanta. Heck yeah, man. Tell us about it. Yeah, Cardi got busy in this weekend. Yeah, we were sitting there. We was a little scared because it was about 945, and the old lady beside us had told us that Cardi Bhead went live and said she wasn't coming out. Right.
Starting point is 00:18:29 My old lady went on live and seen it and she was going live going off. It was like, oh, man, we got to get that money back or something. No, that's what you end up coming out, look. Yeah, everybody said. She'll come out of love after two. Well, yeah, that's usually her time, like 930, 945. That's what she'd come up. Yep.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Yeah. But she had her at 1230, but man, when I tell you, I realize, man, Cardi will forever be loved because we rushed up from the beginning up until her career. Absolutely. She never let the money and the fame change though, man.
Starting point is 00:18:54 She'll always be loved. You know, another reason that Cardi's going to always be loved and people fail to realize this, man. She's genuinely a nice person. You know what I'm saying? And my grandma always told me manners will take you where money you won't.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Like, she don't act like she big in any program. She never will, man. Y'all have a good day, though. You too, brother, sir. All right. He said it like the police came up behind him real quick.
Starting point is 00:19:13 He had to get up to the pool. Yeah, you have a good day, man. Hello, who's this? Hi, this is Stacy. How are y'all? Good morning, Stacy. Why you're telling somebody, Grandma? Oh, come on, come on.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Well, I've only been up since, like, 2.27 bacon all night. Nobody wants your cupcakes on 420, Stacey. Oh, my God. Oh, hell. Wait a minute. Hold on. That's exactly what I'm calling out. Oh, wait, and we're not talking about those kind of cupcakes.
Starting point is 00:19:41 DJ Evie, God damn. I'm just joking, Stacy. You know when you call up here. You know when you call up here, Envy get bricked up, Stacy. Oh, stop it, man. I know. He said, I know, we know. So wait, Charlemagne, there is so many people asking me
Starting point is 00:19:55 where I'm going to be at today. Yo, like, probably like two weeks ago, I made $804 in one day. That's what I'm talking about. Everybody's love $420. That's right. So, yeah, I just had to say that. But wait, Charlemagne, I know I'm kind of late,
Starting point is 00:20:11 but, yo, can I do your Black Effect thing? It's this Saturday, April 25th in Atlanta, Georgia at Pullman Yard. If you pull up, I'm sure we can make some space for you. I know Dolly somewhere madden. I think of God. You, oh, my God. Yo, you know what? I thought a special cupcake just for you.
Starting point is 00:20:29 I know. That's a wrong way. I'm cool on the cuff. I like that. The wrong way. Yes, but yeah, this Saturday, April 25th, we will be in Atlanta at Pullman Yards for the fourth annual Blackfeck Pack podcast. Yes.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Thank you. Oh, my. Y'all show me so much love. I really appreciate y'all. Best radio show. the whole wide world. Love you, Stacey. Oh, that's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Yes. That's hilarious. Wait, oh no, no. You're going to be the only one that's not there, right? Yeah, because I'm going to be at Rutgers University for Black Writers' weekend for my book launch.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Oh, okay, guy. Well, whenever you do something in Brooklyn for your book launch, I will be there. I ain't got no kids. People just sacked them, but it's so okay. Wow.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Thank you, Stacy. What if you said, I don't have no kids because I put him in my cup. Love cakes? Hey, yo. Get it off your chest. 800585-105-1. You're looking at Mimi's face right now.

Woo, woo, woo, woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like, and dad, I think I want to really
Starting point is 00:23:37 give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up-and-coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
Starting point is 00:24:03 If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat, just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot in luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
Starting point is 00:24:34 You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield. And in this new season of The Girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck.
Starting point is 00:24:57 I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the Girlfriends.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast. I budget you. Talk, L.L. Cube. Yeah. I'm not dumbing myself down. I'm being myself.
Starting point is 00:25:31 That source is my friend. I'm the homeguard that knows a little bit about everything and everything. The little brown girls look at you and go, I want to be like you. Take me through that, take me through there. The latest with Larno Lose. On the breakfast club.
Starting point is 00:25:47 L.L. Coobane. Talk to me. All right, y'all. So Cardi B, she finished her little Mitch drama tour over the weekend. And a big congratulations goes out to Cardi. I know we've been talking about this tour on a lot of the stops, but this weekend she put a lid on it and made history. She grossed over $70 million.
Starting point is 00:26:07 She, yes, so this is the first completely sold out tour by a female rapper. She, 35 out of 35 shows sold out. She's the highest average gross per show. largest female rap box office in history with the finale that she did to say from Marina in Atlanta and highest grossing single venue for a female rapper
Starting point is 00:26:29 and that happened when she grossed over $5 million at a single venue earning $5.32 million across two shows when she did Madison Square Garden so this tour alone some of the dates alone
Starting point is 00:26:42 just made history and she brought the celebrities out this weekend in Atlanta like I'm only named a few but there were so many there I saw Megan Good. T.I. came out on stage with her the first night. Young Jeezie came out the first night.
Starting point is 00:26:53 The second night she brought out Shamar. She's a big fan of Shamar, but she also brought out Missy Elliott, who she is a huge fan of. Tyler Perry was there both nights in a row. Yes, both nights in a row. Candy Burst. I saw Portia there as well from Real Housewives of Atlanta. Cardi brought the people out in Atlanta this weekend. Drop on the Clos Bound for Bardi.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Cardi is a star star. Yes, 100%. If you don't know what a superstar look like anymore, look no further than Cardi B, damn it. A hundred percent. You know what else? I talked about this on the podcast, the latest with Lauren La Rosa. I started to look up, like, other female rappers that
Starting point is 00:27:29 have, like, been able to, like, accomplish really big things with arena tours. And a lot of the conversation I was seeing was about how rare it is for female artists to do this. I know we've been celebrating... I can only think of one. And that's Nikki Minaj. Yes. So outside of Cardi, it's only been Nikki Minaj and before Cardi B and Nikki Minaj, there were other female artists who did the tours.
Starting point is 00:27:47 but they weren't completely sold out. So you have like a Doja Cat. She did an arena tour with a Scarletter tour. Missy Elliott, who Cardi brought out. She had some sellout dates, but she didn't fully sell it out. But I was her first arena headlining tour back in 2024 that she did. And then they mentioned Laura Hill. And I'm like, I want people to really understand, you know,
Starting point is 00:28:07 what conversation Cardi B has now put herself in with this tour. So, yeah, we talked about that on the latest. Yes. Now the tour or the final night of the tour in Atlanta almost didn't happen. because there was a little hiccup backstage with Cardi B in the arena. Let's take a listen to Cardi B on live.
Starting point is 00:28:25 You and your fucking employees are being disrespectful why I'm not going to perform today because you're going to get your balls like you said. Go get them. I'm not performing today. Let me tell you why
Starting point is 00:28:35 because we got in here your employees are being rude for no reason. Poinsie figures for no reason. Touching people for no reason. And then they're telling me oh, we got to talk to this because I feel a certain type of way
Starting point is 00:28:47 because you're being disrespectful. I did 35 shows and I never had a problem and we've been kind to everybody. So no! Now I'm leaving. Yeah, so then she went on spaces and she talked about, you know, wanting an apology before she would go on stage and before
Starting point is 00:29:01 after, I mean, we don't know whether she got the apology, I'm assuming she did because then she tweeted, when you hold power and authority, use it with kindness and respect, never abuse it because not everyone will endure your arrogance and silence. Treat others exactly like you demand to be treated. Atlanta, I'll see you soon. So she was letting everybody know like, you know, like, you know,
Starting point is 00:29:17 heading to the stage, the show is going to go on, and I guess all is well at that point. And I'm glad she didn't let a couple of employees ruined the experience for the 1,000,000, 17,000 people who came to watch her perform. Like, you don't let one or two monkeys stop no show? Not at all, not at all. And she even, like, you know,
Starting point is 00:29:36 made it like a part of her conversation on stage as well, too, and they got through it. But at the end of the night, Cardi B posted a letter to her, not a letter. She posted a video to her Instagram, and she said a letter wasn't enough. She wanted to talk to our fans directly. Just thanking everyone.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Let's take a listen to Cardi, thanking her fans. I just want to say thank you everybody who came out to the Little Miss Drama Tour and was a part of the Little Miss Drama Tour. I want to say thank you for my production team. I want to say thank you to my glam team. I want to say thank you to my wardrobe. I want to say thank you to my choreographers. I want to say thank you to everybody because this tour went really, really smooth.
Starting point is 00:30:10 And it went out, went really smooth because we all did a great job. And I also want to say Thank you for Everybody they came out from the celebrities They just came and see me Just to have a good time If y'all ever need a kidney I'm going to find somebody to give it to y'all
Starting point is 00:30:29 What if we want yours Specifically party I'm sure the tour is not going to stop I'm sure she has to go international now right Absolutely yeah 100% And she's talked about wanting to do an all-Spanish album as well too Oh that's fire Just this tour really put in, like, confidence, you know, in her to do more because of everything that she was able to accomplish.
Starting point is 00:30:49 So there is a lot more coming from Cardi as we go. Congratulations. Yeah, absolutely. Yes. Now, in other music news, live performance news, Tarese was here on the Breakfast Club, and he was talking about the show that he was headed to, Jess. I know you went to the show. Yes, I did at the UBS Arena on Saturday night. It was nice.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Yeah, so the R&B music experience. He was here talking about that, and it garnered some responses from Tank. So let's take a listen to Tyrese on the Breakfast Club. Versions, that was dynamic. of your relationship? That was a little bit of a lot. I can't tell. Did it change the dynamic of your relationship?
Starting point is 00:31:19 No, no, I'm going to tell y'all what happened, bro. Tank is out here completely gassed. He think he won just on him talking shit about my turtleneat. He don't understand that he has not went viral from any of the songs that he sung. Any of all is, eweeoo. You out here, Kimberle and . And none of that shit went viral.
Starting point is 00:31:44 If you want to go viral, you might want to sing about the headliner's Turtleneck. None of your catalog went viral. Your band members was up there looking sad as a motherfucker like they lost after song number two. Yeah, so Tank got on Instagram and responded. Let's take a listen. What's going on, people? I just woke up to the news that Tyrese is out doing a promo tour for Turtleneck, my new single, which is out now streaming everywhere on our platforms. You can download that, listen to that.
Starting point is 00:32:15 I wrote about you, on the spot, freestyle. It's kind of what I do. It's kind of why you lost the verses. You don't write my songs. But you know what? I digress. In New York, we'll be there tomorrow. It's going to be more to say, more ass kicking.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Don't wear a turtleneck. I did not know turtleneck was on screaming. I'm looking at it right now. We played the song. I didn't know that was on screens because you played it. I didn't know that was on screen. I didn't know. That's not.
Starting point is 00:32:41 I said it when we played it He didn't sing it at the show though He didn't know he did not sing Turtle Neck at the show he didn't But what he did was go around in the crowd and see Who had a turtleneck on And my husband just had to have a turtleneck on He did it on purpose
Starting point is 00:32:56 Yeah of course he did it on purpose I care and it's also like easier to wear A black turtleneck me and nothing else to wear But yeah like he did that part But he didn't perform the actual song He should have performed it too But nah he was doing jokes and everything Tyrese and Tank aren't serious, guys.
Starting point is 00:33:12 They're building the fight. They're going to fight. Yes. It's all fun in games as well. And we do have the song, though. And Genuine was not there. No, Genuine was not there. He was going to complete it for me.
Starting point is 00:33:22 I wanted to see him do the wrong time so big. Yeah, he can. No. He said, stop playing with him. I know. I love him so much, but I'm going to catch him somewhere else. Let's tell the story. Genuine.
Starting point is 00:33:30 He's about to. Yeah, I was going to say he also commented it on the Breakfast Club's Instagram, Genuine. And he says, can you all please leave me out of the conversation. I don't want no smoke at all. please I'm quiet always I never respond I'm not even on that show Jesus because Tyrese was saying I take Juniwan's talking about he texted me he texted me he texted me and said I'm 55 I'll beat all of y'all ass stop playing with me
Starting point is 00:33:50 that's what you think everything is all light skin and good hair I'll kick all of y'all eyes okay oh no that's how that's how that's how did you call him light skin that's how he wasn't he wasn't mad at me he wasn't mad at truth he wasn't mad at me he was He probably said. Embed he showed me to take that I'm 55 about beat your ass. I did not know he said that. He didn't say that. He didn't say that.
Starting point is 00:34:16 He didn't say that. Envy probably blamed us. Oh my God. Lauren asked a question and just made the joke. Because I was going there for him too. Tank Tyrese and Jean-Ewan. I wanted to see it. He said, stop playing on his name.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Oh, my. I never play on his name. You said, I'll never. He said, on tree, y'all. I didn't know all the tree. He said, all true. I didn't do the clock. Gene Yine is my Merlin family.
Starting point is 00:34:36 I would never. All right. Well, that is the latest. with Lauren. Now, when we come back, we got front page news. You got the turtleneck record? You got it?
Starting point is 00:34:43 Yeah, yeah, I actually want to hear it. I ain't know. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Morning, everybody is DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Salomey and the guy. We are the breakfast club.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Let's get in some front page news. Start off with some quick NBA scores. Now, it is the playoffs. So if you're into it, now over the weekend, the calves beat the Raptors, the Knicks beat the Hawks, Celtics beat the 76s, is Magic beat the Pistons.
Starting point is 00:35:04 The Spurs beat the Trailblazers. The Thunder beat the Suns. The Lakers beat the Rockets. and the Nuggets beat the Timberwolves. What's up, Mimi? Good morning, NBJJLamein. How y'all doing this morning? Hey, girl.
Starting point is 00:35:14 A lot and highly favorite. How are you, Mimi? Good, thank you. So we start this hour with a heartbreaking shooting, one that investigators say unfolded across multiple locations and left eight children dead. Police in Shreveport, Louisiana, say a 31-year-old man identified as Shamar Elkins
Starting point is 00:35:32 went on a shooting spree early Sunday morning, killing eight children between the ages of one and four. 14. Seven of the children were his own, all siblings. The eighth was a cousin. Authorities say the shooting happened across multiple homes and police describe it as an execution-style attack. Authorities say the shooting happened while two adults were shot, including another children's mother who remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Now, after the shooting, police say Elkins, he carjacked a vehicle, led officers on a chase before he was gotten killed. That's still unclear whether he was killed by police or he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Right now, investigators say there is still no clear motive. But family members
Starting point is 00:36:18 say Elkins had been struggling with his mental health and had recently expressed suicidal thoughts. They say he had been under stress in his marriage and told relatives that he was dealing with what he called dark thoughts. And just days before the shooting, he spoke with family telling them that he was overwhelmed. Now, a community is left trying to understand how. how this happened. Local leaders calling this one of the worst tragedies they have ever seen. Here's Shreveport, Councilwoman Tabitha Taylor with Moore. I don't know what people think in the crevices of their mind to want to harm another human being, let alone that of children who have their whole life ahead of them.
Starting point is 00:37:02 And maybe you can stand strong with this, but I can't without sharing. tears of traumatic pain. And this is the result when someone snaps. So I'm going to ask the community, along with prayer, with every mental health consultant, counselor that is out here. This family and this community needs you. Because how do we get through this? How do we get to the next level? So, I co-signed every single word she said. I mean, what a tragic story. It's a clear psychotic break, you know. He was a former veteran too, right?
Starting point is 00:37:44 Did I read that? He was a former veteran, but he was in the Army reserved in Louisiana Army's Deserved. I think he served from 2013 to 2020, but yes. I mean, what's so sad is that, you know, he was crying out for help. Like this man was crying out for help. Like I saw a social media post that he posted. He was literally crying out for help.
Starting point is 00:38:02 So, you know, to have a psychotic break like this, where he goes and kills his own eight kids. You know, the women that... I think seven were his. Seven were his kids. One was a cousin. So freaking sad. The woman that he killed.
Starting point is 00:38:13 That's why it's like, when you try to wrap your mind around this, you really can't. You just need to understand that mental illness is very, very, very real. Well, yes. And the two adults, they, as of right now, they've survived. One is the mother of the children. She was in serious condition.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Last I checked. And as more details come out, please say a ninth child, a 13. teen-year-old boy, he managed to escape by jumping from the roof of the shooting. He suffered broken bones, but is expected to recover physically. And authorities also believe that a third woman was able to get away. So more details. And lastly, let's just get to a story real quick that should make you smile, a little politics mixed with some story time, a cute moment between President Obama and New York City Mayor Zeran Mandami is making rounds online after the two
Starting point is 00:39:04 met for the first time in the Bronx. Now this wasn't your typical political sit down that you spent time at a child care center reading books, singing songs, and talking about expanding free child care across the city. Let's listen to some of that. So we are going to bus around around. Who is he? Johnny and me. What's his first name? Mary mom, Johnny. That's funny So yes
Starting point is 00:39:41 A really cute moment Those clips going viral Especially the sing-along moment Spreading across social media Giving people Just a lighter look at those two Political figures In the midst of all the chaos
Starting point is 00:39:53 That we have going on In politics today So All right Some losers are on in President Obama I mean I guess that's the world we live in Where
Starting point is 00:40:02 I thought it was cute I thought it was cute I thought it was like Just heartwarming Which is very serious I didn't care. I mean, and I know them kids didn't care. Them kids have no idea who the hell he was sitting there listening to.
Starting point is 00:40:15 They had no idea who Obama was, which was funny to see. I don't know if they knew my down either. I mean, they might have known it was the mayor, but they was like, what does that mean to them? He's been all over the paper. I'm sure he's been all over the news of his mom. If their mom takes him somewhere, they knew the name. But I think that would be a pretty cool thing to tell my kids or family numbers later on. Yeah, that the president and the mayor came to my.
Starting point is 00:40:38 school when we sang the wheels of the buckle around? The key word you said was later on. Right now, they don't give it in. All right, y'all. Well, that's your front page news. I'm Mimi Brown. Follow me at Mimi Brown TV. And for more stories, follow the Black Information Network. All right. Thank you, Mimi. All right. Now, let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-105-105.1. This is for married couples out there or anybody that's engaged.
Starting point is 00:41:02 All right? Now, two of the three members of the Breakfast Club do not have their wedding rings this weekend because two of the three members lost their wedding rings this weekend. So the question is 800-585-105-1. Have you ever lost your wedding band or wedding ring? And what did you tell your significant other? This weekend I was at my daughter's dance competition and it's my job to check out, right? My daughters are dancing and it's my job to check out. My wife packs the bags. I ran in the room and I do my little facial regimen. So I got to put the moistureizer also. So I take my ring off to put the the moistureizer on. Put the
Starting point is 00:41:38 moisturizer on, checked out, watch my daughters close out the show. We get home. When I get home, I'm like, and where's my ring? Left it at the hotel. Damn, and then what happened? So I called the hotel, and the hotel says, oh, how's keeping left for the day? You have to call back tomorrow. Oh, hell
Starting point is 00:41:54 no. Uh-uh. They came up, shoddy. But mommy was good. I gave her a little tip and everything. Mommy, she was like an older, Latino lady, only Spanish room. She looked like she was in her 60s. I left her tip. So, her hoping when I called today she did the right day. No, you can go up there and day.
Starting point is 00:42:10 She'll be like, I don't know. No, poppy, no see me, no see. And I want to hear about yours when we come back. All right. Because yours is the big rock. Mine is crazy. We'll talk about it when we come back. 800-585-105-1.

And I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent.
Starting point is 00:44:28 He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. and he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes.
Starting point is 00:45:20 And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends... Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got to be. hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target. He's going to get
Starting point is 00:45:52 what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. to join into the discussion with the Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Just hilarious. Salomey Naga. We are the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:46:31 Now, if you're just joining us, we're opening up the phone lines 800-585-105-1, and we're asking married couples or if you're engaged, have you ever lost your wedding band or wedding ring? Now, two of the three members of the breakfast love pair do not have their wedding ring on today because we both lost hours over the weekend. Yeah. I checked into a hotel.
Starting point is 00:46:49 Damn. I was checking out. That's crazy. I left, the kids were downstairs dancing. Was your wife, would you? Yes. Oh, okay. My wife was downstairs with the kids.
Starting point is 00:46:56 I was my job to check out. I took my hands off to put some moisturize and wash my hands, and I left the ring right there on the counter. I got home. I called, they said, uh, housekeeping was going for the day that I got a call today. So I'm going to go by there today after work and just hopefully is there. But I gave mama a tip. I see mama and I gave a tip.
Starting point is 00:47:14 So I'm hoping she does the right thing. Now, what happened with you? Because yours is the big rock. So we were coming up from Maryland. My husband was driving up from Maryland, to Jersey, and I have this thing where you're from tired. I will take my ring off, take my wig off and get comfortable, jump in the back, go to sleep because it's like a three-hour drive, right?
Starting point is 00:47:34 So I got, I woke up, got the wig, we went in the house. I ain't paid the fact that I took my ring off, no attention until the next day. Next morning, I'm trying to find it. I'm like, oh, it's in the car. But I didn't have time to go down to the car to get it. Came to work. When I got home that day, I'm like, oh, let me go check the car. Check the car.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Chris had got the car detailed. Damn. He got his truck. Detail. Yop. Ain't nothing in there. Nothing. Not a crumb from my daughter,
Starting point is 00:47:58 not a barret from her, not a piece of paper. Nothing is cleaned. So I'm like, yo, what if the people took my ring? Right.
Starting point is 00:48:08 I didn't tell him until the day of our anniversary, which was Friday. Damn. Yeah. And he was upset, but he was like, don't let it affect,
Starting point is 00:48:17 you know, don't let it affect the whole weekend and I'm like that. I told you. I asked you. I was like, yo, what do you think I should do? I don't want to say nothing
Starting point is 00:48:25 because I'm scared. Like that, yo, a lot of thought, time, money, effort went into that damn ring. Like, and he got it custom made for me. It was made like a crown.
Starting point is 00:48:33 The diamond, like everything. I was like, I was like, uh, I was so upset. So did he vacuum to ring up with him? That's what I think. He didn't do his own car.
Starting point is 00:48:41 He didn't. I'm talking about the place who way took the truck to get a detail, yo. Oh, unless you said Chris went to get the car detail. He did. he went to get a detail. He didn't detail it himself. Clown. So he took it to his cousins.
Starting point is 00:48:51 Did his cousins? I know his cousins. Because I'm sure the place he went to had number of Mexicans working. No. They wouldn't steal from each other, would they? Shut up. I don't know if they probably didn't even know that he was the Mexican because he don't look Mexican. Oh, my goodness. Boom.
Starting point is 00:49:04 He did not look like a light skin black nakesh locks, yo. Shut up. But no. So when I told him, he, like I said, he told me, don't let it upset the whole weekend. But I know he meant. I know he meant. I could tell. I know my husband.
Starting point is 00:49:17 I know he's upset, but I was upset about it, and both of us being upset all weekend was not going to... You're having it. You had an insured, though, I'm sure, right? Yeah, he did, but it was just like, yo, you lost your ring a day before your anniversary. What? Did you think that's a sign?
Starting point is 00:49:31 Uh-oh. What if you're saying? I don't know. I'm just asking. No, it's no sign. Shall I have you ever go to ring? No. No, I know he was going to say he did.
Starting point is 00:49:39 I don't take it off. It's just a simple gold man. Like, there's no reason. And I used to have a simple black band before this, and then I got this simple gold band, but I don't have a reason. So there is no instance where you take your ring off like at the gym or to do your skin regimen or nothing like you. I don't take it off in the shower, right?
Starting point is 00:49:54 No. Oh. Oh. He's just, okay. Well. I take mine off in the shower or when I do about like this. Pat your face down. Yeah, the ring be all hard.
Starting point is 00:50:02 I don't know. Let's go to the phone line. Hello, who's this? Hi, good morning. This is Victoria. Hey, Victoria. Hi, guys. Good morning to everyone.
Starting point is 00:50:11 You ever, you ever lost your ring or your husband lost his ring? As soon as you started saying that, I rolled my eyes so hard. So hard. I was like, oh, my God. Oh, God. What happened? I called back, you know, way back when I was going on the cruise, and it reminded me of that. My husband and I got married, May 31st, so it's almost a year married.
Starting point is 00:50:32 And two weeks later, his brother got married, and he lost his ring at his brother's wedding. Some shit about how he went into the bathroom to wash his hands, and he took the ring off. And when he comes back to sit down, you know, feeling his henesty. And I'm looking at him, I'm like, Where's ring? He's like, oh, shit. So he goes back to the bathroom, ring is gone.
Starting point is 00:50:52 Damn. Wow. At least when you were with him, right? You all together. Yeah, when you all together, yeah, you know, it's not, yeah, I was sitting at the table. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:01 I was enjoying my drink. I was sitting at the table and relaxing. I just, I was so disappointed. A new bride, so I just got up and I left. I was like, I can't, I can't talk to you right now. I would much rather lose my wedding ring when I'm with my significant other. Right.
Starting point is 00:51:17 Because anything else sounds suspect. You know what I mean? Yeah. Absolutely. Hello, who's this? This is Anika. Hey, Anika. Did you ever lose your wedding band or wetter ring?
Starting point is 00:51:27 Oh, wettering. It's still lost. What happened? Well, I was at the Honda Battle of the bands last year with my sorority sisters, having a good old time. You're a Zeta? I'm way in the back. Huh? You a Zeta?
Starting point is 00:51:40 You said, who? You a Zeta? Oh, no, no. I'm Tava Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority. Oh. Okay, okay. Okay, okay. Okay, tell us.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Yep, yep. So, yeah, I'm in the backseat with my sorority sisters talking, trying to exchange my steak nails, took off my ring and set it to the side. We're putting it back on. We hit a good turn, and then that ring split in between the seats, man. So I was scared because I knew I gave my husband a hard time about losing his when he went out with his boys a couple years prior. Damn.
Starting point is 00:52:15 So, yeah. So you know. the ring was. You didn't go in that car crazy trying to get that ring out? You crazy. Yeah, yeah. We all did. I'd have still been driving. They got screwdrivers, wrenchers, out of the chair, I'd get that ring. Listen, when we returned the rental car, I told Abe it's like, hey, drop my ring back there. And it's like, okay, if it turns up, what it looked like,
Starting point is 00:52:34 woo, woo, woo, whoa, wait. They ain't going to return that ring. Nope, not at all. It's gone. How did you tell your husband? Oh, humble is all get out. having to eat my word. Yeah, right. Because I gave him a hard time when he lost his.
Starting point is 00:52:51 That's the worst. Thank you, Anika. But he was the only. 800-585-105.1. We're talking, have you ever lost your wedding ring or wedding band? There's another member up here that was playing basketball. His ring flew off. Yes.
Starting point is 00:53:05 He went to Home Depot, got a metal detector. He was not trying to go in that house without that ring. Now, if you're just joining us, we're asking. have you ever lost your wedding ring or wedding band? I lost mine this weekend. Just lost us this weekend. So we're asking. I left mine in a hotel by accident.
Starting point is 00:53:23 Me and the wife, we were checking out. My daughters had dance and I just left it right there. And then your ass going to say, when I say, yo, I think it's in the truck. I don't know, but he had the truck clean. You was like, you gave me a little bit of hope.
Starting point is 00:53:35 Like, you know what? He might got it. He might say he might just be holding on to it or whatever, just to surprise you with it. And I thought that, yo, when I went up to him, I was like, I know you got the ring. And he was like, no, I don't. Like, you lost it.
Starting point is 00:53:46 I was like, that damn. I was so mad, yo. The funny thing, I didn't have any problem until I told you that advice. That next day, I lost mine. That's crazy. Jesus. Hello, who's this? Me.
Starting point is 00:53:56 Hey, Nees. Did you ever lose your wedding band or wedding ring or your husband? Yes, my husband did. What happened? One day after work, if you have a routine work he, like, watch his hands or whatever. He had put the ring on a straw. And when he entered our apartment complex, he threw away the trash in his car. So the cup was.
Starting point is 00:54:13 was also part of the trash and it went outside of the dumpster. Oh, man. Did he go in the dumpster to get it? Yeah. Yeah, we went back together, but he hopped in there for sure. Did he find it? Yeah, he got it. Yeah, he got it.
Starting point is 00:54:25 He was at the very bottom, but he got it. Oh. But at least he got it. Thank you, Mama. Hello, who's this? Hi, my name's Tracy. Hey, Tracy. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:54:33 Good morning. I'm calling from Indianapolis, Indiana. Indianapolis. Now, have you ever lost your wedding band or wedding ring? Yes, I actually just lost it last month. In March, we were on spring. break in Florida. What happened?
Starting point is 00:54:46 Yeah, so, like, I had just told my husband that I wanted a new ring because it'll be our 10-year anniversary in July. And I was like, I need a new ring. Everybody's getting engaged, and people's rings are starting to get big, so I need a bigger one. And he wasn't really
Starting point is 00:55:01 talking about anything, but we were drinking, and I got in the pool and the jacuzzi and stuff, and then I looked up, and my ring was gone. So I started, like, searching for it, talking to the pool, and kids were swimming. with their goggles on, trying to find it for me, and nobody to find it.
Starting point is 00:55:18 Did you say people's rings are starting to get big? Yes, because I got engaged before other people did. So I had, like, the biggest rings. Like, my ring was really, really pretty. And, like, people didn't get more money, you know, as we're getting older, so they've been getting engaged, and people's rings are getting bigger. And I'm like, dang, my ring ain't as big as it used to be.
Starting point is 00:55:36 I need a new ring. And that's why your ass lost it, because you worried about what everybody else got, and you lost it. Now you need to be grateful. I'm not worried about me. I need a new ring. Either that or your husband think you lost it on purpose and get a new ring. Right. Especially if that's the conversation.
Starting point is 00:55:52 No, he was like, no, he was like, it's a big coincidence, but he wasn't mad or anything about it because he already knew that, like, I wanted a new ring. I just want you to know God can see you, and what you did was very devious. What? You know what you did. You know you lost that ring on purpose. I did not do that. I literally cried.
Starting point is 00:56:11 Yes, you did. I was searching for it. I still called. I called last week to see if they found my ring. Like, I'm really sad about it because I wanted to have my ring to pass down to my You're such a good actress. Did you get a new one? No, I haven't got a new one yet.
Starting point is 00:56:23 That's what my other friend said. She was like, did you get a new one? I'm like, we got money like that to just get a new ring a month later. That's what I'm saying and all that complaining. That's what happened. Your God was like, you don't want it? All right, give it here. Thank you, Mama.
Starting point is 00:56:37 Hello, who's this? What's up? This is Jay, man. Jay from Florida. Jay yourself from Florida. Jay. You lost your wedding man, Jay? Oh, yes, on our anniversary.
Starting point is 00:56:47 First anniversary. Damn. At a hotel, I did the same thing like you, DJ Envy, lotion my fingers and stuff like that and forgot about it. Called a hotel. They, like you said, the Spanish. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:57:04 I didn't see it. I don't see it. You're checking out of me. But guess what? Guess what, y'all? What? My wife lost her. a year later.
Starting point is 00:57:16 But she threatened me that told me I need to go ahead and buy another one. So I did within three months because she ended up losing hers that following year, one band. But guess what, when she lost her band, y'all know she got the three rings. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you have to replace the whole thing. But guess what, she has not replaced her. So I want to call her out. Rita Kay Pinkney, buy your ring now.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Since you thread me to get my ring, you need to buy your ring now. You got to buy your ring. You got to buy it for her, don't you? No, she lost her. You're right. You're right. Right. Because Chris was like, man, you don't get back.
Starting point is 00:57:53 Buy your ring, Rita K. Pinkney. Okay. Now, I'm going to tell you something. Now, Rita walking around here with no ring and somebody tried to highlight him. No, no, she still got two of them. It's a three band. Oh, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:58:05 Oh, yeah. To complete the set. She got to buy a new set to get it completed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Well, thank you. Yeah, man. Go, um, check out.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Like, I, I, I, wait it. was beautiful. Check it out. Jay E.W. CEO underscore. Check out. She had a green dress. I had a pink floor, so it was beautiful. All right. Thank you. Congratulations. I will say there is green and pink.
Starting point is 00:58:25 What did they think of K's? Yeah. Listen, there's one time I take my wedding ring off when I'm in the nail salon. Oh, okay. But you put it literally right in your pocket. Well, they have a little cup type of thing that they tell you to put it in. Oh, right. Yeah. All right. What's the moral of the story? Is there a moral?
Starting point is 00:58:42 Just tell the truth. Just whenever you, because, yo, I felt like if I would have told him exactly when I knew I didn't have it, he could have looked for it, got it out the car, before he took it to get detailed. Like, ah. Pastor Jamar Brian told you to stop lying. Lying is your depot. I didn't lie. I was scared to tell him, y'all.
Starting point is 00:58:59 I was scared to tell him. I didn't know what he was going to do, y'all. All right. Well, when we come back, we got the latest with Lauren, so don't go anywhere. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV.

Starting point is 01:00:51 I'm being myself. That source is most. I'm the homeguard that knows a little bit about everything. And everything. Lauren. Little brown girls look at you and go, I want to be like you. Take me through that. Take me through that.
Starting point is 01:01:04 Who is she gone? The latest with Lauren Lose. On the breakfast club. L.L. Coobbe. Talk to me. Happy birthday to Luther Vandross, y'all Don't try to fill in time for her. She acting like she don't got a segment to do.
Starting point is 01:01:17 No. She does it every morning at the same time. Everything was correct. Hi, guys. Good morning. Good morning. All righty. So, over the weekend,
Starting point is 01:01:27 Eddie Murphy was honored. He was honored in LA at the Adobe Theater during the American Film Institute's awards. And this award show was fire. You had some of the biggest names in entertainment, comedy, Spike Lee, Martin Lawrence, Dave Chappelle. Chris Rock, Stevie Wonder, Bill Burr, Jeff Kastenberg, Ted Serendos from Netflix. So everybody's there, his family is there, and of course they're doing the speeches.
Starting point is 01:01:54 This is a Lifetime Achievement Award, their honor, his career. So Bill Burr, he gets on stage and he talks a bit about his relationship with Eddie Murphy. Let's take a listen. I bought your first album. I didn't even know who you were. He had the rose behind your ear, and I had been listening to Richard Pryor, and I was just like, well, here's another black guy. must be funny too. And I was thinking like, you know, this guy's, he's doing it, he's making everybody laugh.
Starting point is 01:02:17 If I haven't become a comedian, that's what I'm going to do. So, a few years later, I've become a comedian. And I'm like, I'm going to be like, hey, I'm going to go up in front of the Black Crow. I went up and I did my thing and I got offstage and I was like, I am never going to do that again. Black people are mean. They don't let you get to the stage. They are going to have a good time with or without you. And I truly think you're arguably the most talented guy who's ever been in this.
Starting point is 01:02:42 business. I don't think there's anything you can't do. And I'm looking forward to more of your work. I love you to death. Thank you so much. It was an honor to work with me to brother Charlie. I love Bill Burr. Yeah. There were a lot of great speeches of the night. Another speech that will highlight Dave Chappelle. So Dave Chappelle went up and talked a lot about his relationship with Eddie Murphy. He started off his speech by honoring Eddie Murphy. Let's take a listen. Black people often have fear for their heroes. You worry about them because so many of our heroes I was persecuted or shot down. When I was 14 years old, Raw came out,
Starting point is 01:03:18 and I would go and I would watch it every day. Like I knew somehow this was something really important in my life. Throughout my wife, Annie, you were the ball I was watching. You were the hero that I worried about. When you came up and looked lonely. It was you, it was Michael Jackson. It was Rick James and it was Prince. all who won the deceased
Starting point is 01:03:41 and somehow somehow you survived tonight when I came into the theater to do this thing man I saw a bunch of my heroes and I'm like man this is crazy all on them
Starting point is 01:03:55 the soul survival of the 80s Eddie Murphy yeah now a big part of the conversation that Dave Chappelle had on the stage he is again talking about the Chappelle show but this time with Eddie Murphy let's take a listen recently I did an interview
Starting point is 01:04:09 that made headlines because I said I was considering doing Chappelle show again. And one of the reasons that it was great was your brother, Charlie. But Charlie used to tell his stories all day about your essential to fame. And I just want you to know, man, every time he mentioned you, he always said how proud he was in it. Man, he said, I love my brother. You know, a couple weeks ago on the whim, I reached out to Eddie and asked him if I could come by on business. And I went to his house, and me and Eddie, for the first of him,
Starting point is 01:04:39 first time talked about Charlie since he passed. I hadn't seen him or really had an occasion to speak about it. Eddie was doing this thing. Man, you should do like a Chappelle show movie or something like that. And I said, man, that would be tough. That's your brother. So Eddie, if I do it, man, do Charlie parts. And let's go.
Starting point is 01:04:59 If they do a Chappelle show reboot, whether it's a movie or TV show, Eddie doing Charlie's parts would be incredible. Amazing. Because I know Eddie's stories are crazy. I'm sure. Okay. That was the whole thing. It was Charlie Murphy, true Hollywood stories.
Starting point is 01:05:13 And a lot of the stories Charlie was telling were things that happened because, you know, being around Eddie. Both of them, yeah. So imagine Eddie telling it firsthand. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. That could be great. Now, this tribute that they did, it will premiere on Netflix as a special on May 31st. So you guys will be able to watch it then.
Starting point is 01:05:31 And other names that were there, too, that I didn't mention, just Kevin Hart, not even just, but Kevin Hart, Keenan Thompson, even Longoria, like the, The room was packed. Before Eddie Murphy even got up to, like, think people for the speech. They brought him out from the stage, and he got to send an ovation as he moved to the bar room. But he did get a chance to thank everyone. And he said he almost got emotional. Let's take a listen to Eddie Murphy. I want to thank the AFI and Ted Saranis, Randis. Ted for, put this whole thing together. It's just, I wish y'all can feel what I'm feeling and see what I'm seeing. It's just a really. But yeah, I'd like to thank everybody for giving me this night that I remember forever and ever and ever.
Starting point is 01:06:17 Thank you everybody. Stevie, Stevie, Stevie came. I said, Stephen, Jennifer turned it out. Everybody says such nice things about me. I'm just really, really, really, really filled. I almost teared up. I'm going to get backstage and cry. But this has been wonderful.
Starting point is 01:06:34 Thank you so much. Yes, very well deserved. And that's going to air on Netflix, I think on May 31st. Yes, it is. She just said that, yeah, salute to Eddie Murphy. Yeah, and before we wrap, I did want to take a second.
Starting point is 01:06:46 I want to send a segueing to a separate story. Over the weekend, I got a chance to go and see Sarah Jax Roberts at Seeds of Greatness, which is my church in Delaware. And she was there and she spoke, and it was like a girlfriend, it's like a girl-themed night.
Starting point is 01:07:00 And then over the weekend, after that, her husband, Pastor Tore, has said in the church service over the weekend that she had gotten to an accident and that was very serious. And Sarah Jakes Roberts posted about it and said that, She was, you know, on a trampoline with her daughter.
Starting point is 01:07:12 And she broke her neck. And it could have been to the point where she was almost paralyzed. So she's going to be, you know, just taking some time off to just heal and recover and, you know, all the things. I just wanted to, you know, send her some love and some prayers and to get well soon. And actually take the time to relax. I mean, I don't think she'll have much choice. But I know it's a lot to get back. Oh, I thought she said she almost broke.
Starting point is 01:07:31 Damn. She fractured her neck, herniated disc and endangered areas of her spine that could have left her paralyzed. Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. She is not. Yeah. Yeah. So wanted to send her some love too.
Starting point is 01:07:40 Yeah, so that's the latest for the hour. All right. Well, damn. Chalabane. Yes, indeed. Who are you giving that donkey to, man? Four after the hour. There's a woman named Vaya.
Starting point is 01:07:50 Vaya, I think you pronounce her name. She's slap ice spice and McDonald's. She needs to be in jail. We'll discuss. All right. Okay. We'll get into that next. Lock her ass up.
Starting point is 01:07:57 It's the breakfast. It's a donkey thing that we are, he on, he are. A bunch of donkeys around here. It's time for the day. It's time. I got the donkey of the day for these. They made me the donkey of the day. the thing is what I said.
Starting point is 01:08:11 Damn, Charlemagne. Some donkey today's just saw themselves. It was you. What accountability are you taking? I'll have made donkey today. On the breakfast club. That being said, I want to start off with this donkey right here. Let me take a sip of my water first.
Starting point is 01:08:28 Mm. Mm. Mm. Okay. Donkey today. For Monday, April 20, 420 goes to a young woman who has been identified as Vea, B-A-Y-H-A. I don't know her last name,
Starting point is 01:08:43 but I want it because we need this woman in jail. All right, why do we need this woman in jail? Well, over the weekend, actually it was early morning last Wednesday, they said. She decided she wanted to slap the artist known as Ice Spice in the face, okay, in an unprovoked attack at a McDonald's in L.A. Yes, Ice Spice was enjoying a late-night McDonald's meal,
Starting point is 01:09:04 which proves you can take a young lady out of the Bronx, but she can't take the Bronx out of the young lady, okay? Ladies from the Bronx love McDonald's. I'm old enough to remember when Cardi B used to come to breakfast club way, way, way back in the day. And after the interview, she used to be wanting to go to McDonald's. Okay? So it's something about Bronx women in McDonald's. Not to mention, I tell you all the time, the craziest people in America come from the Bronx and all of Florida.
Starting point is 01:09:27 And eating in McDonald's, late at night, when you are a popular rapper like Ice Spice with no security, it's absolutely crazy. And this woman, Vian, or Vaya, that's her name, proved why. See, Ice Spice was mine. her business eating her four piece nugget, fries and drink. And this woman walked up to her and asked, where are you from? Those are three words you do not want to hear when you're on the West Coast, especially L.A. And then things escalated quickly. Let's go to TMZ for the report, please. So Ice Spice got into it with the woman early Wednesday morning at a McDonald's. She's chilling with her friend chatting it up and a woman walked up seemingly trying to sit with Ice Spice
Starting point is 01:10:02 and her friend. Things escalated fast. The woman slapped ice, chaos broke out and it all spilled outside with more arguing in another swing throne. But now we've spoke to the woman in the video and she's telling her side of the story. Oh, I think that's ice spice over there. I go up to them and I'm giving her and the other girl she was with compliment. Ice spice was just being rude. She's like, why are you over here? You can't be out here disrespecting people. She calls me a bitch. So after she calls me a bitch, I hit her. And I hear ice spice in the middle of the street. Talking about somewhere is that bitch that I want to fight her. That's what me and her fought again. She was being disrespectful and rude, which is why we fought.
Starting point is 01:10:37 Flipside Ice Spice's attorney tells TMZ the unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD, and we will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the preparators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly. We are also exploring holding the location responsible for their lack of appropriate security. So you mean to tell me that was an interview with TMZ? I thought she went live. I thought she went live. I thought she went live.
Starting point is 01:11:01 She went live, right? Yeah, she did. The girls said they spoke to Ice Spice. Okay, all right. Well, that's what I was thinking. You know, the VA or Baya ran to social media to let everybody know she attacked Ice Spice and to justify why she slapped Ice Spice, which there is no justification. Can I hear some more of that, please?
Starting point is 01:11:18 Let me hear some more of that. Oh, I think that's Ice Spice over there. So I go up to them and I'm giving her and the other girl, she was lit compliment. Ice Spice was just being rude. She was like, why are you over here? You can't be out here disrespecting people. She calls me a bitch. So after she calls me a bitch, I hit her.
Starting point is 01:11:33 And I hear Ice Spice in the middle of the street. Talk about some, where is that bitch? I want to fight her. That's what me and her fought again. She was being disrespectful and rude, which is why we fought. By, you do realize we saw the video, right? Goofy ass. You do realize we can hear the video, okay?
Starting point is 01:11:52 All right, nothing you said, Ice Spice said in that video we heard. What I saw was you approached Ice Spice's table looking like you was on the BS, okay? I didn't like the way you approached the table. All right, just because you are a fan of someone, doesn't mean you can disrespect their boundaries. you're entitled to anything from that person. Okay, none of what you said justifies slapping ice spice, all right? This is why I want people like ice spice to always have security. Okay, well, number one, don't be eating at McDonald's late at night when you ice spice.
Starting point is 01:12:21 Okay, that's number one. Get your number three to go, all right? But if you're going to be out, have your security, because security slows a lot of that down, okay? Security is for defense, all right? The great E40 told me years ago, right here on Breakfast Club, This is Charlemagne, you got to make it difficult for people. When you're worth something, you got to act like it, and you got to protect it. Okay, that situation could have been a whole lot worse.
Starting point is 01:12:44 Okay, it could have been a whole lot worse for Ice Spice. Thank God it wasn't, but it could have been. And that's what security slows down. Not to mention, sometimes security has to make an example out of people. And that's what I wish would have happened. Okay, yes, what I see videos like, Vaya, whatever her name is. I want to see them get beat up. Okay, I really do because the only reason things,
Starting point is 01:13:05 like this keep happening because we don't see the consequences of these stupid ass actions. We need to see people like her get beat up. We need to see them getting shot sometime, okay? Not killed, but a little flesh wound, okay? And then we need to see them going to jail, okay? This sense of entitlement that some people have just because we share in the same space is ridiculous, all right? People like Ice Spice are not extras in your reality show. That's a human that deserves respect, just like you deserve respect, and disrespect.
Starting point is 01:13:35 Should not be tolerated on any level. Look, I don't know if Ice Spice was ruled to her or not. That's not what I saw on the video. I don't care. I watched the video and I didn't like the way Baya or Vaya approach the table. Just because you are a fan of someone doesn't mean you get to disrespect their boundaries. You came in on BS and that's why we need her in jail. We need her prosecuted to the highest extent of the law.
Starting point is 01:13:59 We don't need people like Bia just roaming the street. We have to do what we have to do to get her off the street because she's close. not right in the head. Okay, you walk up on a person in McDonald's, then you make a video about it and lie on her to justify your foolishness. Call the LAPD. Okay, I want her locked up by this afternoon if they haven't got her already. Okay, what's her last name? I don't know. Plaster it all over social media. Tell the proper authorities where she can be found. This isn't snitching because none of us are criminals, okay? It's crime prevention. If you want to see how someone is going to treat you, watch how they treat other people's love. You think this woman
Starting point is 01:14:34 wouldn't do you like she did ice spice you bugging but you also have to make an example out of people like her so please give that young woman via our veaa the biggest he-ha crazy all right
Starting point is 01:14:52 and it's not enough consequences for situations like that you know and the fact that she just goes online it's like they want the attention you know what I mean yeah you assaulted somebody But yeah, I'm going on the line
Starting point is 01:15:05 and I'm going to tell you I assaulted you so I get locked up. And then you get mad when people tell on you. You be like, yo, y'all snitching. You snitching on yourself, boo. There's cameras. Don't I'm going to ask kids. But let me ask you a question, though.
Starting point is 01:15:17 Via, whatever the lady's name was completely wrong. Mm-hmm. Right? But Ice Spice did have a friend there. She did. And the friend didn't do anything. Man, a girl would have been clawing to get out of the restaurant. Vaya, whatever, would have been clawing to get out the restaurant
Starting point is 01:15:30 because my friend would have been on that ass. What is you talking about? We're going to bank you. you. As soon as you come over with the BS, it's two on one. Oh, we're jumping. What are we doing? We're jumping you. You got French fries all in your hair. Exactly. Now, the girl that she was with, probably not a fighter, probably none of that. But it's like she was the only one. She's the only one. As soon as you see, you know,
Starting point is 01:15:47 fisting, you get up, hop over the table. The French she was with, she told her not to go to McDonald's in the first place. How about that? We start to have. Hey, you know we can get this to go, right? We don't have to eat in here. You don't have to eat in here. You don't have your security with you, I see. You don't have to be here. Exactly. I'm curious. But it happened.
Starting point is 01:16:05 585105.1. Burger, even if you can't fight, Burger getting stuffed down your throat, Shorty, it don't matter. Are you mad at your friend after this? Yeah, I'm mad at the friend, but I'm not mad. I'm not more mad at the friend than I am that Shorty just walked down on me and really disrespecting me like that. And I didn't do anything to warrant that. Right.
Starting point is 01:16:22 Let's open up the phone lines. Yeah, I got a problem with my friend. You with your friend and this happens, right? Are you mad at your friend if your friend does not help you? It depends on what kind of friend it is. See, it happened to me one time. but the friend is not that type of friend. All right, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:16:36 You can't expect gully Grimes square up from a friend that don't do that. I see the bottom of his sneakers, though, but. Okay. Okay. Pchoo! I was, hey, hey. For 8005-8-5-105.1, let's discuss this the breakfast class. So this is a podcast about video games.
Starting point is 01:16:53 Kind of. It's also about friendship. Definitely. And chaos. Unavoidably. Welcome to It's Dangerous to Go Alone. A podcast where we talk games, culture, nostalgia, and immediately go off topic. There is no.
Starting point is 01:17:03 gatekeeping. There is no skill check. If you win a game on easy mode, we support you. If you've never touched a controller, honestly, same energy for some of us. It's fun, it's chaotic, it's friendship with a loose gaming theme. And somehow we keep getting away with it. You should listen. Stream it's dangerous to go alone on the free IHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcasts. A win is a win. A win. A win is a win. I don't care which I'm saying. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined.
Starting point is 01:17:38 And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. Listen to The Clifford Show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. What's up, everyone? I'm Ago Vodam. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network.
Starting point is 01:18:33 It's Will Ferrell. Woo. Woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with him one day. And I was like, and dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means,
Starting point is 01:18:46 but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through and I know it's a place that come look for up-and-coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:18:59 And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that.
Starting point is 01:19:22 There's a lot of luck. Listen to thanks, Dad, on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends.
Starting point is 01:19:51 I'm Anna Sinfield. And in this new season of the girlfriends... Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by it. A truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands.
Starting point is 01:20:10 I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Good morning. It's topic time.
Starting point is 01:20:37 Call 800-585-105-1 to join into the discussion with the Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody, it's DJNV, Just Hilarious. Salamein de Guy, we are the breakfast club. If you're just joining us, Sholomane gave Donkey the day to who? This woman named Veja, Arvaya, she's the person who attacked Ice Spice in a McDonald's last week. Right. Yes. And I said that she should have got beat up, you know, by security.
Starting point is 01:21:02 Yes. You know what I mean? She should have been up by security. And she needs to be in jail. So if you know Viya's last name, please get you. Give it to LAPD. Let them know her whereabouts. She needs to be off the street.
Starting point is 01:21:10 Because that is an assault. If she did it to Ice Spice, she might do it to you. So, yes, absolutely positively. Because Ice Spice would just eat her chicken nuggets. Yes, y'all. On her business. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:21:21 She went outside and they got into another fight. Now, mind you, I don't think Ice Spice should have been in a McDonald's eating. Right. Early in the morning. When I say early in the morning, I mean really late at night. So I don't know what it was. One a. Sometime after midnight.
Starting point is 01:21:33 It was one in the morning. But it's like, why are you in the McDonald's by yourself, just you and a friend? having a late night snack. Now, I don't know the area. Maybe the area is a nice area. I have no idea. I just don't ever think that's a good idea
Starting point is 01:21:44 when you're somebody with the notoriety of an ice spice. Yeah, I mean, I think anything in California always scares me. Yeah. I just feel like the word gets out so fast. We've seen it with so many different artists in California.
Starting point is 01:21:54 I just don't play. But like, I'm with you. Like, maybe she could have did that in New York because she's full of New York. She's used to that. Yeah. But not in California. But one thing people are talking about
Starting point is 01:22:03 is her friend that was there. Yeah. And when the girl got up and was standing and yelling and screaming and her friend did nothing. She was collecting the food. She was collecting the food. That food expensive nowadays.
Starting point is 01:22:12 McDonald's value, you don't have the value that it once had, okay? That food is expensive. So I'm asking 800585-105-105. When you have a friend like that that you know when it gets down to it, they're not fighting and you shouldn't expect them to. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:26 Do you have one? Yeah, I got one like that. She's going to call the police. She's going to do everything. She ain't going to leave me, but she ain't going to fight. She ain't going to fight. She ain't going to call the police. Yes, but I know her.
Starting point is 01:22:36 And I know she's going to do that. So I'm not even expecting for her to jump in a fight. That's why I said, I was feeling like that before about Ice Friend, but you can only depend on a person to be who they are, who you know them to be. So it depends on a friend. Right. I have somebody like that too, that cool beings, peoples, but if we're into a fight,
Starting point is 01:22:56 I just know that's not them. Okay. So they're not, I can't expect it. You know what I mean? It is what it is. If they're around, if I get jumped, I can't be mad at him because I know him. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:05 Now, my friend wouldn't leave. me. Now he knocked, well, your friend. He left. He was a gun, though. It got somebody pulled out a gun. Okay, all right, that's different. Why, you buried the lead. What hell? Why you ain't run too? Because he had the gun on me. We're like, I didn't want to get shot in the back. Like, Ricky! Like, I was going to be your first time getting hit an ass. But listen, let me tell you something.
Starting point is 01:23:24 What's wrong with you? I mean, you can't ask me that question. Do I expect my friends to fight? No, because I got security. You want to get shot. Before you asked. I mean, I have security now. Oh, do I expect, did I expect my friends to fight before security? Um, no. Not necessarily. necessarily, no. But you got hands, though. You're not going to do what Ice Spice did. You're not going to just sit there. You're going to get up and you're going to fight.
Starting point is 01:23:46 Now, do I know my guys? Do I know my guys would get down? Yes. But do I expect them to? Yeah, I guess. Yes, you do. Yes, you do. They're even putting this predicament in a long time so he don't know.
Starting point is 01:24:00 No, because I got security now. Yeah, now. I don't want none of my people having to fight. I don't want none of my people having to get their hands dirty and no way, shape, of phone. That's what I got security for. Yeah. Well, let's go to the phone lines.
Starting point is 01:24:10 License security that if they actually bust your head and hurt you, they're insured. That's the other thing you don't think about when you're running around with your friends and you know you are in a certain position in life. Yeah. Hello, who's this? Hi, good morning. Good morning. Hey, good morning.
Starting point is 01:24:24 Talk to us, Mama. Yes. The ice situation that went down. I understand she wasn't in New York. Her friend really should have done more and been more supportive. She's heat ice ice ice and her stolen off on her. should have got up with the quickness, expeditious. Something expeditiously.
Starting point is 01:24:41 They could have did her dirty, too, because after the girl, Vea hit Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice, she slipped on the wet floor. Yeah, I see that. They had her right there. All the friend had to do was grab a. Just grab a glass. And then Ice Spice could have got busy. Yep. Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Debbie from Columbia, South Carolina. 803, what's happening?
Starting point is 01:24:57 Talk to us. Um, so if I was in there, well, not even me, but Ice Spires should immediately be in front of after T.U.S. Boy, whatever happened outside of the restaurant. because her friend has a candle where you're a way to walk I said it's
Starting point is 01:25:11 a candle where it's a while but if the friend you know so you thought ice spicy you to afford a friend after yeah that's what I
Starting point is 01:25:19 initially said too but then I thought about it like I said it depends on that friend to be honest that girl could she probably ain't ever been
Starting point is 01:25:25 in a fight in her life correct but and then also ice you from the Bronx you know somebody's disposition like just even how she came up like
Starting point is 01:25:34 because I'm watching the video and I'm like how she think that girl was going swing. Like how she put both of her hands on the table, she leaned in over, her face was open. She could have chin checked her before she even got hit. Even prior to that, though, Ice Spice had her back to the door. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:49 So the girl came running. That's a no-no. Yeah, that's a no-no. Yeah. That's a no-no. That's a no-no. Number one. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 01:25:55 This is your boy, chunks, man. Black's my E-N-E-T, man. What's up, brother? Talk to us. Listen, Shalame. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yo.
Starting point is 01:26:02 Y'all don't remember that episode of Girlfriend when? Homegirl got jumped in the club and Joan was the only one of the people do nothing. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I do remember that. You ain't gotta be no fighter. You ain't gotta be no violent person. But you don't stand in and do nothing.
Starting point is 01:26:20 And do nothing, right. Now, you- That's true. I'm with you. I'm with you. I got to do something, y'all. Right, if you can't fight stuff or something. They're touching your friend.
Starting point is 01:26:31 What kind of friend are you if you stand in and do nothing? nothing while I'm getting a tie. I do remember that. That's when Tony got jumped and Maya and Lynn jumped in and Joan didn't do nothing. He was smiling. He's talking to about girlfriend. He just don't smile. God damn right. That's my
Starting point is 01:26:49 favorite show of all time. I love me to some girlfriends. But do something. Even if you don't fight, throw something. That's what I said. Do something. You. Stop what in the burgers. Start something. Ah! Something, yeah. Now, if you're just joining us, we're talking about Ice Spice. She was just in the incident over the weekend, well, a couple days ago.
Starting point is 01:27:06 And her friend was there, we're just asking, what's your thoughts? Hello, who's this? Good morning. This man from Harlem. Good morning, family. How you're doing? How you doing, talk to us? What's your thoughts?
Starting point is 01:27:14 I'd say, if I was a friend, I would have jumped in, but I'd say that if the girl, more of the girls shoot the people who was on loving hip-hop. Huh? Oh, I know you're talking about. If she would have been there, she would have jumped in. Oh, yeah. Clear passion. No more now, yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:27 Oh, yeah. She would have hit her first. I'm like, yo, Spice, you from New York. You don't see this girl easing? I'm looking. First, I thought it was fake. It was on TikTok. Right.
Starting point is 01:27:35 So I'm like, yo, she easing up, easing up, easing up. I'm like, yo, where's your guard at? Like, you're from New York. What's up with you? That's what I said. Ice Spite had her back to the door. That's the first one. Right, but still in all.
Starting point is 01:27:47 Yo, listen, listen, listen, listen. I'm not going to get aggressive. I'm going to stand up and be aware. You crazy? Yeah, like even when, you're bad. Well, girl didn't even really get the head of good. Like, she could have. She was whacked too.
Starting point is 01:27:56 Yeah, but I'm just saying, throwing off. Like, how you let your guard down like that? You said, girl, easing up and she's being aggressive. I mean, what's sad about that situation is we've seen situations in L.A. end up very, very bad, right? Yes. You know what I'm saying? Like, when somebody's eating in a restaurant, you know,
Starting point is 01:28:11 and they end up getting shot, rest of the peace, P&B. Yeah, absolutely. So I don't even know why Ice Spice would have her guard down like that in a restaurant in L.A. Period. I don't know why she would even be eating in McDonald's with no security. And what in the morning? Well, her back, I will say this, like, her back was probably to the door because if it's, if she sat on the other side, it's easier for people to see her and see who she is. So, but you only sit with your back toward the door if you got security or the other person on the side on the across me.
Starting point is 01:28:38 You always want to see the door to see who was in. Yeah, I feel you. You always want to see what's going on. And if my back's against the door, I can't see that, especially if I got a friend and ain't going to fight. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, but that's probably why she sat with her back to the door. I was thinking about the friend that didn't fight, right? I don't think that makes her a bad friend
Starting point is 01:28:55 And I'm gonna tell you why She's probably just a friend that don't fight She might be a great friend in every other area But she just might not be the friend that fights Right, that's what I said, but you don't know You can't really be mad at her No If you if you ice spice somebody
Starting point is 01:29:08 You can't be mad that she didn't jump in That's just not her how she get that Literally said all that Like yeah, that's what I'm saying She just probably not that type of friend But also Ice Spice is the money right She's the one that brings her the dollars Yeah
Starting point is 01:29:20 Even if I don't fight I'm still going to head button No. Something. Just like what the brother said? No, I disagree. Because if you're the one that brings the money, if you're the one that makes the dollars, where's your security?
Starting point is 01:29:29 I'm not your security, man. If you're worth something, act like it. Where was the security? And if you're a real friend, you wouldn't have your real friend eating at one in the morning. Too shit.
Starting point is 01:29:39 And you wouldn't let your friend go after the person and fighting the street either. Well, Ice Vice did respond. And her response was, this wouldn't have happened at Wendy's. That's what she said? That's what she said. What?
Starting point is 01:29:50 It definitely would have happened at Wendy's. It happened anywhere that she was at at one in the morning in the wrong place. And the other thing, too, man, you know, like Jess was talking about how she had her back to the door because she didn't want nobody to see her. Once somebody sees you in those places, the bad signal goes out.
Starting point is 01:30:04 Immediately. Yo, guessing who went here eating right now, ice spice. No security by themselves. She got jewelry on? Word. Are we pulling up? You don't know if the person might post that on social media.
Starting point is 01:30:13 The person might text that to her friends. Like, you get the drop put on you immediately, bro. Absolutely. All right. Well, when we come back, what's the moral of the story? tomorrow? Get security. Get security. Don't ever sit to the door. Right. Don't ever. Go through the drive-thru.
Starting point is 01:30:28 Sit with your bags or the door. If you're ice spice. Yeah. Uber eats. Any door dash. All right. When we come back and got the latest with Lauren, so don't go anywhere as to Breakfast Club or tomorrow. Lauren becoming a straight fact. Tell her. She gets them from somebody
Starting point is 01:30:42 that knows somebody. She gets to detail. I'm a long girl that knows a little bit about everything. She'd be having the latest on this. The latest with Lauren. The latest with Lauren. La Rosa. Sometimes you have facts, sometimes you have details, sometimes you have a little bit of everything. Well, it's the media. Brought to you by
Starting point is 01:30:57 Top Dog Law on the Breakfast Club. Talk to me! All righty. So, Drake is saying that he turned in Ice Men. So that means the album is done, right, y'all? Yeah. I thought it's been done. I mean, when are you putting it out? We don't know whether it's been done or not, but he
Starting point is 01:31:13 posted a screenshot of a text to his Instagram story, and there was like a photo of an ice block, and then the text that said it's in. So people assume that this means that the album is in and that is finally done. And then he posted another photo that I saw this morning of him measuring an ice block. And y'all know the whole video thing and the explosion thing went down on Friday. And now people are saying that they're seeing ice blocks being set up in Toronto,
Starting point is 01:31:36 presumably for a music video as well too. So it's supposed to be, you know, here, done, ready. I don't know when we're getting it, though. We still don't have a release date. So there is that. I have a question. Where did that narrative come from that Drake hasn't been putting out music since the rap beef? You know everybody be like, oh, the game is so dry
Starting point is 01:31:52 because Drake hasn't been in. Drake put out a whole lot. He put out on a lot. No key. It was everywhere. Mad singles. Like, he put out. So I'm like, where did that narrative start?
Starting point is 01:32:01 And do we think Drake is scared to drop because he doesn't know if the machine is going to be behind him? I was thinking about this a few days ago. I was like, I wonder how invested, you know, the label will be in this album. Yes, I think so. You sued the label.
Starting point is 01:32:15 He stued the label. You sued the screaming platform. You put radio stations in there. You know, when you don't have, you know, have those performance enhancing drugs around you. Are you afraid to drop? Yes. He recently... I think so. And speaking of that lawsuit
Starting point is 01:32:26 with the label, he recently entered another brief, so they're just, you know, going back and forth from paperwork right now. He's, you know, still standing tall on the fact that the case should not have been dismissed and that not like us should not be treated as harmless rap commentary because there are false allegations in there. So, you know, he's still
Starting point is 01:32:42 standing on that. Because the party next door album dropped. I don't know where that charted. It did well, though, right? There's some sexy songs for you? Yeah, it did well. I don't think he had no, I don't think he had no records that went number one. But you had a lot of top tens. It did well. That album did well, but I'm like you. Like, I'm
Starting point is 01:32:56 putting out an album with the place that I just sued. He's probably scared. He's probably afraid because he don't have a machine behind him like he used to. I have a question though. And I'm sure they're going to be like, oh, words you want to sue us? We'll show you. We're not going to do nothing. Because he needs it to be a massive, massive success. But the album still makes the label money though, right? So why would they mess up their own money just because Drake is doing
Starting point is 01:33:16 all this stuff and work? I ain't say mess it up. It's just that, you know, let me let me show you what happens when you know we're not giving you those enhancements I feel like we've seen that though the last since the beef like when he's putting out the like I said the projects
Starting point is 01:33:29 would party next door and the singles he's put out like usually a lot of them would have hit number one already and stuff like that I just wonder how it will perform if he doesn't have the machine or will he have the machine I don't know you'll find out when Iceman
Starting point is 01:33:42 come of whatever it come up they're cool with a lot of streamers they're send it up we'll see we'll see what happens Definitely going to be on stream, but we'll see what happens. That might be why he leans into them the way that he does so much. Yeah, at this point.
Starting point is 01:33:54 Right. Well, in other news shifting gears, Mary J. Blige, she did an interview. She was on House Guest, and they had a conversation about that commercial she did for Burger King. Crispy. Let's take a listen to Mary J. Blige's talking about that commercial today. Exciting things are happening at Burger King. This is the commercial. No. That's the listen to Mary J. Blige.
Starting point is 01:34:18 I would never laugh. at that it was set up to make exactly what happened in the press happen like that. You really feel that way. Yep. But I had bad representation, bad management, bad everything, and I was getting clobbered for no fucking reason. But it did show me something. One minute people are with you and one minute they are not. It showed me just how fickle the game is and it showed me exactly who my friends were. This is where I learned I go where I'm celebrated at because they would treat me like I was a disease or something. So I said, you know, I know how to do this. Thank you Lord for the lesson. Thank you for getting me
Starting point is 01:34:50 through it. Now I know how people get down. One day with you, when you're hot, the minute some shit happens that you can't even explain, they're gone. I don't get what y'all say. That crispy chicken was a bop. It still is. It's still in your head. You can't get it out. Okay? Knock it off. Especially that part.
Starting point is 01:35:06 She was like, what's in the Krispy Chicken rat? And then she saw singing. We got the commercial. Let's say, listen. Exciting things are happening at Burger King. Welcome to Burger King. Oh, what's in those new chicken snack wraps? What's in the new chicken snacks? What's in the new chicken wraps? Mary?
Starting point is 01:35:20 Crispy chicken Fresh status Three treasasas Stuffing a cruise ball's man Here's my part right here Right here right here That's turkey Chicken snack wrap
Starting point is 01:35:37 That's that's bad The only thing that compares to crispy chicken is Greens, greens, tomatoes What's that? What that's all? What that's Charlie? I remember that. Charlotte She's are the only one That can compete with Krispy Chicken
Starting point is 01:35:50 I'm telling you that right now But when y'all really that matter that song. And then, yo, she said she lost friendships. She made a check on that. The fact that people was fron on Mary about that, that was crazy to me, but I know the conversation. I'm sure you was online. In 2012, I'm sure you was right there,
Starting point is 01:36:06 Kee-Kee and with the people too. I did not care enough about that commercial. I didn't even understand why everybody was so upset and why she was so embarrassed. Somebody pull up Laura though tweets. I guarantee you she got one. Pull them up. They weren't about.
Starting point is 01:36:15 I was in college somewhere being drunk. Yeah, you got to understand. I know that's right. You got to understand why she was upset. You know, she's a black woman singing for chicken. You know what I'm saying? That sounded crazy. She was the singing for
Starting point is 01:36:27 chicken. That was the issue. It was promoting a chicken sandwich. A chicken rat. Yeah, but people tried to throw all the racial stereotypes and this is Mary Jay Blize and she's her icon. Why y'all got a singer about chicken. That was the issue. And Burger King came out and apologized. Everybody eats chicken.
Starting point is 01:36:43 But you see what you're saying? Do y'all niggas not eat chicken? Exactly. Okay, but everybody eats chicken. Who cares? That's her plate. That's what she's saying. She did not want to be the representation for that. She did not want to do that. I'm sure she got a couple of M's for that.
Starting point is 01:36:59 Promoting a chicken sandwich. I mean, absolutely. But it wasn't about that to her. It was about her reputation, her brand and her management at the time. Now, I didn't understand how people took back their friendship, like how friends got upset. Like, what you mean? I think all of that was too much. Like, what are you talking about? That's wild. This is me on a table.
Starting point is 01:37:18 If it was that dark, though, her bringing it back, I mean, she was asked about it, so she answered the question. But it made people go look at that commercial getting out. People were reacting to it again. Kiki Palmer was on stream on her way to Coachella reacting on it. What she said? Let's take a listen to Kiki Palmer. And I'm not saying it trying to be.
Starting point is 01:37:35 I know she doesn't. I'm a big fan of Mary. So she don't want me to do it. I'm not going to do it. But as a kid, I loved her. I loved that. She didn't change. Nothing how I felt about Mary.
Starting point is 01:37:45 But it was interesting to hear her talk about it because at that time, you know, sometimes as a black artist, you can't win for losing. It becomes a thing where it. It's like, I'm not trying to hurt my community. I'm just trying to do. I'm trying to be like, was I too lighthearted? Should I have been? It's such a hard thing.
Starting point is 01:38:00 And so it was really interesting to hear her talk about that. It wasn't funny then. And everybody was banging on her. But then now you look in the comment. Everybody's like, I love that. But that's how time is. But it's like people was dragging me during then. But now it's all.
Starting point is 01:38:14 It was never that serious. So people think that. Also, too, man. Y'all let the white man make y'all hate fried chicken. Okay. fried chicken became a negative stereotype because of a movie called birth of a nation. Okay. And they used the image of black people eating chicken to promote stereotypes of laziness and to discourage political participation.
Starting point is 01:38:34 But in reality, fried chicken was used by formerly enslaved people after emancipation, particularly women, as a key economic tool to gain financial independence. Like they raised the chicken, they cooked the chicken, and they sold fried chicken to people, like rail workers and people that were traveling. and they sold it to local markets. So it actually was something that gave us a lot of economic independence. Correct. But then y'all let the white man convince y'all that it was something else. Oh, shut up.
Starting point is 01:39:01 I want some chicken right now. I know. That is so crazy. You hate education. No, I was not hate anybody that reads, but you said me. I was mad. I was mad at the Calick McDonald's commercial. I remember the Calic commercial with like, it's dripping off the shots.
Starting point is 01:39:17 I didn't never see that. That was crazy. That was cultural appropriation. That was offensive. He was never saw that. He was, you know what? That's somebody hangs off your lip.
Starting point is 01:39:25 That was crazy. And when that sauce bats is in your life. No, no, no, no. And you should not be repeated. You're right. You're right. You're right. You should just say we should have that commercial.
Starting point is 01:39:36 You're right. You're right. You're right. Well, that is the ladies. Call one was way. It was offensive. What is it brought to you by? Yes.
