Starting point is 00:00:00 Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:00:16 What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. We need help! That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast
Starting point is 00:00:46 Post Run High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Dr. Laurie Santos, host of the Happiness Lab podcast. As the U.S. elections approach, it can feel like we're angrier and more divided than ever. But in a new, hopeful season of my podcast, I'll share what the science really shows, that we're surprisingly more united than most people think.
Starting point is 00:01:55 We all know something is wrong in our culture, in our politics, and that we need to do better and that we can do better. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Daphne Caruana Galizia was a Maltese investigative journalist who on October 16, 2017, was assassinated. Starting point is 00:04:35 the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards. Then I did other stuff. I did like Stephen A. Smith's podcast when I was out there. Nice. And then the Podcast Awards was last night. So I got back last night
Starting point is 00:04:43 like 12.30, but the Podcast Awards was dope. It's got back last night like 12 30 but the podcast awards was dope it's amazing to see how far podcasts have come to the point where they got award shows and you know festivals like you know we got the second annual black effect podcast festival happening in atlanta uh saturday april 27th at poleman yards make sure you get your tickets for that so yeah it's just it's just impressive to see how far podcasts have come that's right in a little over a decade. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:06 So is that for the most important people in iHeart? No. Actually, I mean, I don't know. To be honest with you, I don't know how they pick who's at the podcast awards. I saw Shanna Sharp there. Did anybody win? Did we see any winners? I saw Shanna Sharp won.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Yeah, Shanna Sharp won for Best Sports Podcast. Congrats. Jay Shetty won for, I forgot what podcast Jay Shetty won for. I think he was in the wellness category, something like that. Sarah Jake Roberts won Best Spirituality Podcast. Yes, well-deserved. I don't remember who else I saw won. Dang, okay, nobody under Black Effect, huh?
Starting point is 00:05:37 Sarah Jake Roberts. Oh, she's all good, so she's my cousin. I forgot who else, though. Was Gillian and Wild Old nominated or no? Was Breakfast Club nominated or no? Don't give me the line.
Starting point is 00:05:49 You don't know? I don't know. He ain't even say. I saw Joe Budden was nominated. I saw him nominated. Oh, that's good. Did he win?
Starting point is 00:05:54 Okay. I don't think he won. Was that televised or was that like, what is that? It was on something last night. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I saw him say to watch Cool Look Such and Such. I don't know. I was it. I saw it. I saw them say to watch. Go look such and such. I don't know. I was tired, man. Did you open the show? I opened the show. And you were the one that said watch, but you don't remember where?
Starting point is 00:06:11 Crazy. Listen, you know how I be. I opened the show and I was gone. No pain, no gain. Okay, at all. Pew. That's it. I'm out. All right.
Starting point is 00:06:18 And who made these boxer briefs? Do you know? Yeah. It's like your face on boxer briefs. Yeah. It's Charlamagne in my face on a pair box briefs okay crazy we had a whole conversation yesterday about uh was it inappropriate for Jenny bus and Kurt rambus wife to be hugging on LeBron James
Starting point is 00:06:34 and somebody gonna make us draw us with our face on I know somebody in this building just had a conversation by appropriate y'all thought that was inappropriate and then somebody will make drawers with our faces on them and lipstick prints on them and just drop them off
Starting point is 00:06:49 in our studio. Crazy. Who did that? It's who gonna wear them. Now nobody wanna reveal they self. I feel the way. It's who gonna wear them now.
Starting point is 00:06:57 I've never worn them. Nah, they're staying right here. Never. Nah. Alright, well let's get the show cracking. We got front page news. Tess and Figaro
Starting point is 00:07:03 will be joining us in a second so don't go anywhere it's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Alaria, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Let's get in some front page news. All right, now in some sad news, Saquon Barkley. The Giants did not re-sign Saquon Barkley, and he went to the Eagles. He signed a three-year, $38 million deal. Sucks for the Giants, but congratulations to Saquon Barkley. And he went to the Eagles. He signed a three-year, $38 million deal. Sucks for the Giants, but congratulations to Saquon Barkley. He said he wanted to finish his career as a New York Giant, but I guess the Giants didn't want to sign him, give him the money, so he went down to Philly.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I wish the Cowboys would have got him. I really do. I wish the Cowboys would have got him. I mean, I think he did great last year. I think he did great the last couple years. I mean, I know he had injuries like three years ago, but I really don't understand why they wouldn't pick him up. We lost our running back, Tony Pollard, to the Tennessee Titans.
Starting point is 00:07:52 So, if it was Saquon, would have came to the Cowboys. I would have took that. Now, what up, Tez? You're talking about some sad news. I thought you was really getting ready to say something devastating. No, because he was the face of the Giants. And he's a good guy. And he plays hard. And it's just a big loss for the organization.
Starting point is 00:08:09 T.K. Barber said Saquon is dead to him. Okay. It's one thing to go to another team. You go to the rival team, though, in the same division. But you got to understand. He said it for the last two years. I want to end my career as a Giants. But just don't do me dirty.
Starting point is 00:08:23 And he wanted to stay. And, you know, he got to go where his money is. A three-year'm not mad at 38 million dollar deal for you like yeah get your money young get your money not not you dead to me sorry for your loss dj right now let's talk about the naaacp yeah so speaking of uh athletes these are student athletes, I definitely want your opinion on this. So the University of Florida, Florida State University, and University of South Florida, they have some of the most prominent football and basketball programs in the country, generating $177 million in revenue. And the NAACP is asking black student athletes to use their power to boycott the universities over the removal of the diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Take a listen. I'll give you a little bit more information on the other side. Today, the leader of the NAACP sent a letter to current and future student-athletes urging them to reconsider attending colleges here. They say the recent crackdowns on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs poses a threat to the well-being of black students. Now, earlier this month, the University of Florida terminated all DEI positions. They say the move was in compliance with the January vote for the Florida Board of Education to ban using state or federal dollars for diversity programs.
Starting point is 00:09:39 We spoke to the president of St. Pete's NAACP chapter today, who says she stands with the advisory. Told us black student athletes leaving Florida will also mean a lot of money leaving as well. A message she hopes lawmakers cannot ignore. So in NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith posted on X that he's utterly disgusted by his alma mater, University of Florida. Now, guys, I feel a way about this. I want to hear what you have to say. Remember last year when NAACP did the advisory to say, you know, don't come to Florida, don't travel to Florida.
Starting point is 00:10:16 And we talked about that. And I was pretty hard on NAACP because I want them to do something a little bit more aggressive. Now, although I appreciate this, the idea of our black students, you know, athletes getting involved in the movement. At the same time, I'm not sure if it's really fair to put that on the students. I think there's more the NAACP can do as far as legislation is concerned, getting a governor ready to run in 2026. When we look at the numbers and before guys go in the comments trying to beat me up i'm not saying this is not a good thing but when we look at only five percent black students let's just look at university of florida there's only five percent black students there's 133 black student athletes do we really believe that these student athletes should or would walk away from their
Starting point is 00:10:57 scholarships you know their education for diversity inclusion i think i think people are looking at the fact that, you know, that would be a hit in their pockets. Because if you look at it, the University of Florida, Florida State University, the University of South Florida's basketball and football teams, they generated more than $177 million in revenue between July 1st, 2021 and June 30th, 2022. That number actually seems kind of low to me. I actually thought it would be more than that.
Starting point is 00:11:24 So maybe that's what they're feeling they're feeling like you know if uh players you know uh student athletes boycott the universities then they'll they'll lose money and you know people always feel it when they would but are the students really gonna do when we set up these types of things so you know i believe in protests i believe in boycotting but i also believe in doing things that we actually can do and so we're not just sending out a big you know a big nothing burger or do you really believe these students are going to do that may be great if they would but should they i mean or do you have two different questions though you said you said yeah would they and should they that's two different questions but i i kind of agree with would
Starting point is 00:11:57 they or should they i kind of agree with tes like that's a lot of pressure to put on an 18 year old who just got accepted to college and got a full ride and hoping to play basketball or play a sport, and it's only, what you said, 100-and-something students. That's a lot of pressure for those students unless they have other means of going to school and other colleges as a default. But if they don't have a default, you just can't wake up on a Tuesday and say, boycott, because these kids have their lives, they have their livelihood. And I know that we should make sacrifices, but I think that's a lot of pressure to put on an 18 year old kid and i mean i don't i don't know because i've never received a scholarship but aren't you in the
Starting point is 00:12:31 contract when you do a scholarship other than student athlete yes you are so that's what i'm saying so would you be in violation of your contract yes yes that's what we say boycott it yeah so we we know how much money because again remember we had this conversation this conversation is always going on remember we had it with deon sanders you know should black athletes stay at white schools go to should they go to hbcu so there's always the conversation on you know where our student athletes the money but i just think this is a lot to put on students if they want to do it that's fine but i need the adults in the room the naacp and all of the organizations you know florida's my stomping ground all of the organizations. You know, Florida's my stomping ground.
Starting point is 00:13:06 All of the organizations that are there. Let's start talking about what we're going to do to replace this governor. Let's start talking about what we can do to really, you know, do something about this. As opposed to saying, hey, you know, some scare tactic that may not actually happen. That's my question. I get it. All right. Well, that is front page news. What are we talking next, Al?
Starting point is 00:13:22 So up next, TSA is doing self-check security. I want to see what you guys feel about that. Are we comfortable with people just tsa is doing self-check security i want to see what you guys feel about that are we comfortable with people just being able to check self-check self-check i ain't got no gun i'm going to what are you crazy we'll talk about it next hour so we'll be talking about that i can't win the next hour 800-585-1051 get it off your chest if you got something on your chest you need to get off call us up right now phone lines are wide open
Starting point is 00:13:47 again 800-585-1051 it's The Breakfast Club come on The Breakfast Club it's a new day this is your time to get it off your chest
Starting point is 00:13:58 wake up whether you're mad or blessed I'm gonna tell you I'm just asking call up now 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Hello, who's this? Hi, this is Eric. Eric, what up? Get it off your chest, brother. Yeah, good morning. I was just calling because I heard you're going to be on Fox. And a lot of people are on the couch because of the things that they are saying about abortion, about abortion. Like a lot of people have a lot of black people have a higher morality and they don't necessarily believe in the way that Kamala Harris and Biden talk about abortion.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Really? That's interesting. I mean, I never thought about that. I would think Roe v. Wade being overturned by the Supreme Court would get people off the couch, especially women. Well, that's just a lot of... They always push the louder voices out there about the people who agree with abortion, but they don't necessarily push the voices of people who don't agree with abortion. Well, question't necessarily push the voices of people who don't agree with abortion. Abortion a lot of times.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Based off your logic, wouldn't that make people get out there and vote for Trump since he's the one out here saying he got rid of Roe v. Wade? He actually has the same beliefs as the Democrats on abortion, but
Starting point is 00:15:23 the Roe v. Wade case being turned over was actually a correct thing. It leads it to the state to make their determination on whether abortion should be legal or not. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Salute to Vox, man. Salute to Noelle King at Vox. She had a conversation with myself and Angela Riott, South by Southwest. You can go check that out wherever you listen to podcasts. All right. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:15:54 Hey, this is Trey out here in South Carolina. What's going on, man? What's up, Trey? Trey, what up? What part of SCU calling from? Murder Beach. Hey, okay. Get it off your chest, Trey.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Hey, man. So this traffic out here is crazy. No cursing. You can't effing curse, man. Hey, okay. Get it off your chest, Trey. Hey, man. So this traffic out here is crazy. Hey, man. You can't effing curse, man. Man, I'm sorry, man. Sorry, man. I want to know what y'all think about the traffic out here, man. South Carolina.
Starting point is 00:16:16 We're not there. We're not in Myrtle Beach. Why not come again? We're not in Myrtle Beach. How do we know what the traffic is like? Well, what do y'all think about inflation? That's another thing. Holy crap.
Starting point is 00:16:28 I tell you. Can't stand it, by the way. Thank you, Trey. Can't stand it. Can't stand it. I got a baby. I got a baby, and I'll tell you what. I'm paying $45 for 25 diapers.
Starting point is 00:16:39 It is insane. It is. I be looking at menus and places, and I be like, damn. I was in the hotel yesterday, and I was like, $42? A hotel being expensive. For a piece of salmon? A hotel being expensive. And then it'd be like a $9 delivery fee.
Starting point is 00:16:51 And a tax. It'd be a ton of money. I'd have to go to $130. Yeah, no. Hello, who's this? This is Niall, baby. Coming up from ATL from New York. What's going on, y'all?
Starting point is 00:17:03 First of all, I want to give a shout out to Jess Hilarious. Congratulations on your baby. Congratulations on your success with your shows. Congratulations on the new child, baby. Thank you so much. Now, let's get into it. Where's Uncle Snacky? I'm right here, sir.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Oh, don't call him. What's happening? Uh-huh. Here we go. Let's get into this. The gayness is out of control, sir. The who? The gayness. We of control, sir. The who? The gayness.
Starting point is 00:17:26 We had a talk about it yesterday. What happened yesterday? You're especially with white men yesterday and John Cena. You talk about this man used to wrestle in wrestling trunks. John Cena only wrestled in shorts, my guy. What have you been fantasizing about? Denim jean shorts. Look at it.
Starting point is 00:17:42 But those weren't wrestling trunks. Those were regular street jean shorts. What are it, but those weren't reference shorts. Those were regular street jean shorts. What are you fantasizing about, Ox, Charlotte? But that's when he made the transition to the John Cena character.
Starting point is 00:17:52 All wrestlers wear those little briefs, and you know that. Let him fantasize now. Let him fantasize. And by the way, that is what he... I'm going to let that go on
Starting point is 00:18:00 because you're going hard again. I don't know exactly what you're doing with those free calls, but P. Diddy or what? And that is what he had on at the Oscars, by the way. He had on the little wrestling briefs behind that little cardboard.
Starting point is 00:18:11 I don't doubt it. I don't doubt it. I'm just trying to be a big friend of him. I just want to congratulate y'all on all y'all's success. Y'all have come a freaking long way. You hear me? From the immature jackasses y'all used to be to the grown, mature representatives
Starting point is 00:18:24 of our black community, I just want to say congratulations to all y'all's success. And I wanted to give a shout out to my wife, if that's possible. Go ahead, brother. I just want to give a shout out to Miss Jodi Middleton. She loves you. I got our kids in the car right now. We on our way to work and school. And I want to give a shout out to Cash App.
Starting point is 00:18:41 We're trying to buy a house, so we're trying to do big things, but it's hard as hell. Cash App is the Mrs. Middleton. That's with two E's. D. Mrs. Middleton. Middleton felt like royalty. All right, brother. Good luck. Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:18:58 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. This is your time to get it off your chest. Keep calling. 800-585-1051 we want to hear from you on the breakfast club hello who's this hey dj envy charlamagne the god and my girl
Starting point is 00:19:12 just hilarious how y'all doing what's up this coach davis what's going on hey listen um i like to weigh in on that topic with the DEI controversy down in Florida. You know, as a coach myself, having kids, a son that played basketball in college, you know, I understand, I get what you're saying, Envy. That's a lot to put on an 18-year-old, 17-year-old kid, especially in this age of NIL, where these kids could possibly make you know a few hundred thousand or maybe come out of college as a millionaire it's a lot to think about right but at the same time you know there there is some responsibility that as a a college student
Starting point is 00:19:59 you know understanding what's going on in your university being politically aware you know, understanding what's going on in your university, being politically aware, you know, that you might want to be able to have, make a stand or make a presence known. But I have a question. Where are the political systems on these colleges? Where's the black student unions? Where are these Greek fraternities that's down there? What are they doing politically to put pressure on these administrations to not cave in to dropping these programs that is vitally needed in these universities? If you're just checking in, the NAACP is urging black student athletes to boycott a couple of universities. The universities are University of Florida, Florida State, and the University of South Florida.
Starting point is 00:20:44 They're saying that those universities terminated all diversity, equity, and inclusion positions on campus. I think we got to be careful when we say that, too, because Ron DeSantis signed a bill last year that prohibited a lot of public colleges and universities from using state and federal funds on programs commonly grouped together under the acronym DEI. So is it the university's fault, or is it the governor's fault for signing that bill? Like, if the governor signed the bill that prohibited a lot of these colleges and universities
Starting point is 00:21:15 from doing it. That's what they're saying. They said it's Florida's new state policy. It's Florida's state that prohibits public and state institutions from using government funds on DEI programs. So I guess that's why Ted was saying, like, you know, they should do something to run against the governor and get DeSantis up out of DEI programs. So I guess that's why Ted was saying they should do something
Starting point is 00:21:25 to run against the governor and get DeSantis up out of it. Correct. I don't know if that's... Absolutely. I don't know if that's something you put on the university. I could be wrong. Right. But get it off your chest. 800-585-1051 if you need to vent. Of course, you can call us up. Now we got Jess with the mess coming up.
Starting point is 00:21:41 What are we talking about, Jess? Yes, Cardi B said she ran into somebody at the Oscars after party. We know who? No. I'm going to tell you. I'm just asking. I'm just asking. Give us a little hint.
Starting point is 00:21:50 But all right, we'll talk about it next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jess with the Mess.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Rumor has it. Rumor has it. Rumor. Rumor has it. Call out a name or you gossiping or you chatty patty. I am gossiping. This is The Rumor Report. I mean, I guess we on The Breakfast Club. This is where the tea spills, right? What is happening?
Starting point is 00:22:15 This is not Rumor Report. This is Just With The Mess. Jesus Christ. What y'all? What is happening? Seriously. What is happening this week? Anyway.
Starting point is 00:22:21 I mean, come on. We got the executive producer running the boards and he don't know what nothing at? God damn. Come on, man. Give her her Just With The Mess, eddie come on we're not starting it till we find it is your country falling apart feeling tired depressed a little bit revolutionary consider this start your own country planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
Starting point is 00:22:54 I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson the First, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I create my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? Be part of a great colonial tradition. What could go wrong? I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warheads. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:23:16 What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. You know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout? Well, that's when the real magic happens. So if you love hearing real, inspiring stories from the people you know, follow, and admire,
Starting point is 00:24:16 join me every week for Post Run High. It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves.
Starting point is 00:24:58 For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself.
Starting point is 00:25:21 You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, what's up? This is Ramses Jha. And I go by the name Q Ward. And we'd like you to join us each week for our show Civic Cipher. That's right. We're going to discuss social issues, especially those that affect black and brown people,

Starting point is 00:27:42 Now she can't even do it. Now she pissed off. Now she can't even do it. See pissed off now she can't even do it see what y'all did y'all better find her some tacos
Starting point is 00:27:48 buying some tacos and pizza right now Moniece Slaughter reveals reason for ending
Starting point is 00:27:52 pregnancy Moniece is from Love and Hip Hop she's also a little fierce baby
Starting point is 00:27:56 mother for people who don't know but everybody should know back in 2022 Moniece
Starting point is 00:28:00 announced that she was pregnant but she never actually had a baby so people was calling her
Starting point is 00:28:03 out accusing her of lying about her pregnancy including her mom and her stepfather actually um but if you look back on love and hip-hop she never really had a total a close tight relationship with her mother they would always go back and forth they're even calling her out for it fast forward to a live video this week where Moniece addressed the people who said she was lying on her life. For everybody that's calling me a liar about my pregnancy, if you were there for me, I love you, I appreciate you. To say that you can't believe that I was married to my husband because you think I lied about a pregnancy, a pregnancy that I bled out three times for, was hospitalized for, fought tooth and nail to keep. I had my tubes tied on the table the day of my dance.
Starting point is 00:28:51 I'll never experience motherhood again the natural way, and that's fine. But I had to do it. I had to do a heart condition, and I chose the best route for me, which was I chose to terminate at all right so after Monique went on for a good amount of time um Masika who's also from Love & Hip Hop who is uh allegedly what's that guy named with the one eye Fetty Wap yeah Fetty Wap B mama her uh she grabbed the phone and she ended the video now I thought this was interesting Because I didn't even know That they were friends
Starting point is 00:29:26 But that's good That you know If they are or whatever Because Moniece needs somebody And a therapist But she definitely Need more friends I don't
Starting point is 00:29:33 You know I'm actually proud That she grabbed the phone This is what Masika did Thank you for Thank you for joining We were rehearsing For a movie
Starting point is 00:29:41 Moniece Moniece is rehearsing Moniece is rehearsing for a movie. Moniece is rehearsing. Moniece is rehearsing for a movie. And this was her big one. This was her big one. End scene. Bravo! Bravo!
Starting point is 00:29:56 Yo, you would literally think that they both are still on Love & Hip Hop. Because a real friend just would have took the phone and ended the live. Like, you know what I mean? Like, I mean, I'm not saying that she's not a real friend but i swear everything is just so theatrical and dramatic like she didn't have to say that because now people are speculating if she's lying even further like all right so y'all just you know rehearsal for a movie yeah she needs help and social media is not where she she's gonna get the sympathy and help that she needs especially if people are saying that she's lying and she's reading the comments. And the way social media works is
Starting point is 00:30:25 if they know it bothers you, they're going to do it more. That's why I be stressing for everybody to get them a therapist or some type of counselor. Do not turn your phone on and vent. Right, right. Definitely don't go on live and do it. Her fans are now speculating that she addressed her two-year-old pregnancy as a rollout for her book because yesterday she revealed
Starting point is 00:30:41 that she's releasing a book on mental health called Mayhem. this could this could all this all this crying and all this after two years if that's not saying that she is over it but worked up myself again could be a rollout for a book is that a book about her mental health experiences i have no idea she didn't say that she just is releasing a book i tell you what they need love and & Hip Hop back Cause she acted better Yesterday than she did on the whole show So Cardi B said she ran into somebody at an Oscars
Starting point is 00:31:11 After party, so Cardi B was on live Again After the Oscars, during the live Cardi was on the phone, she answered the phone And she never confirmed who she ran into And she never gave any further details But we have Do we have audio of her on the phone? I definitely ran into and she never gave any further details but uh we have um do we have audio on the phone yeah i definitely ran into somebody you know you know me i don't play that but i'll call you
Starting point is 00:31:33 later because i'm gonna laugh i'll tell you all the tiana later like so after that her fans started speculating who she was talking about and they was assuming that she was talking about sweetie because sweetie had tweeted um i'm really just a bad bitch that mind her business. If you don't like me, that's on you and your mama, boo. And so people thought, sorry, people thought
Starting point is 00:31:52 that Cardi and Sweetie had beef because of the rumors that Sweetie might have slept with Offset, you know, all those times ago. That was a long time ago. All that time ago. Long, long, long time ago, right?
Starting point is 00:32:01 Internet math is crazy. Yeah, ain't it? Maybe like two plus two equals seven seven equals nine nine equals 14 49 years later they be making the math math maybe they're not really not but the insider uh explained cardi saw sweetie and supposedly she went over to her and started yelling in her face what you gotta say now or something like that see they be maffing the math i guess but then ken Barbie, who was another artist,
Starting point is 00:32:25 quickly shut that rumor down claiming that Cardi never even spoke to the girl. See, math don't be maffin' now. That's what I'm telling you, y'all. It's crazy to me the internet got all of that from a Cardi video and a Saweetie tweet. Yeah, just like last week when Saweetie posted on Twitter a bunch of laughing emojis
Starting point is 00:32:40 and didn't tag me. They was in the comments like, oh, see, the rap girls coming for Jess, they beefing. Shorty laughed. And now we're beefing? I saw a bunch of laughing emojis. What? Hilarious.
Starting point is 00:32:52 They probably tried to say who was at the award show. And they tried to say what rappers were there. And it was Saweetie and Cardi were the only. Putting stuff together and all of that. But Cardi just needed to say who it is. Because she knew she was on live when she answered that phone. She already knew. So I guess we'll find out later or from her friend hopefully whoever she called back give it will give us the tea um madonna apologizes for for calling out a fan
Starting point is 00:33:15 madonna called out a fan at a recent show in la she called the fan out for sitting down during her performance but the fan was in a wheelchair, and this is what happened. Jesus Christ. Yep. What are you doing sitting down over there? What are you doing sitting down? Oh, okay. Politically incorrect. Sorry about that. I'm glad you're here.
Starting point is 00:33:39 My bad. I watch this video a lot. My bad. This video made me laugh so hard. But, like, she's so goofy. Girl, all them people at your show, how do you see one person sitting down, dummy? Like, I don't understand. And what if she wasn't in the wheelchair?
Starting point is 00:33:54 What if she was tired? What if she was pregnant? There's a million reasons why somebody might be sitting down. Leave people the hell alone and just be happy she bought a ticket to your show. Yeah, why are you sitting down? Why are you sitting down? I'm telling you. And then she got up. Madonna got up out of her chair and, like, walked towards her like she was angry.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Get up! Like, oh, my bad. What? My bad. Right. I'm sorry. All right, take it back. And she did, you know, try to apologize, but the damage was done.
Starting point is 00:34:14 That scary-looking ass. I would have been like, what? That is why. That's like back in the day when you tell somebody your mama joke, and then they be like, my mama dead. And you're like, God damn it. I know. I used to do that all the time.
Starting point is 00:34:24 And I'd be like, then your father. I don't know. Then your father. Because you can't back down. You got to say sorry about the mom, but then you're like, God damn it. I know. I used to do that all the time. And I'd be like, then you're forever. I don't know. Then you're forever. Because you can't back down. You got to say sorry about the mom, but then you can't back down. How many months are you? I'm not pregnant. Oh, Lord.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Oh, no. I've never done that. That is sad. I did it once. I'll never again. Yeah. And then you're a man. That's horrible.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Oh, my God. That is just a mess for the first hour. Nowadays, you'd be like, yes, ma'am. I'm not a man. I'm like, oh, whoa. That's happened to me on the radio. I Nowadays, you'd be like, yes, ma'am. I'm not a man. I'm like, oh, whoa. That's happened yesterday on the radio. I said, what's up, mama? And then he put unnecessary faces,
Starting point is 00:34:51 which is, first of all, I'm not a mama. You be so good with mama. I'm not a mama. I was like, my bad. And then went back to sounding like a mama. I was like, hey, yo. All right, when we come back,
Starting point is 00:34:59 we got front page news. Sesslin Figaro will be joining us at the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:35:09 Let's get in some front page news. What up, Tiz? What's going on, DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. Good morning. Let's start off with sports. Now, Saquon Barkley is leaving the New York Giants and headed to the Philadelphia Eagles. He signed a three-year, $38 million deal. So he is no longer a New York Giant giant very sad news for my giants we don't give a damn in cowboy nation well you lost your guy too though we did
Starting point is 00:35:32 lose tony pollard you know and we need a running back we probably pick one up in the draft you know i wouldn't mind grabbing shake saquon barkley but nobody respects running backs no more man the running back position is just a position that's just simply not respected they don't really want to pay running backs the money that some of them deserve. And people feel like it's a position folks don't need. I totally disagree. I disagree, too. And they do it short term.
Starting point is 00:35:53 They don't want to assign running backs for long term. They don't want to have them that long. I'm not mad at that either, though, because a lot of running back careers do be very short. So I'm not mad at that either. But I do want these brothers to get paid while they're in there. That's right. All right, now let's jump right into it. What is this thing you're talking about, self-TSA check?
Starting point is 00:36:10 What is this? Yeah, y'all didn't even give it. Before I even got it out last hour, y'all were like, oh, hell no. Let's take a listen to this new self-service pre-check, and then we'll talk about it on the other side. TSA testing a self-service screening system that's going to be available sometime this month in Vegas. This is only a prototype so it's not
Starting point is 00:36:30 widespread yet but the idea is passengers can move at their own pace and follow step-by-step instructions on the video screen inside the scanner. TSA agents will still be monitoring it of course but they won't be interacting with people nearly as often. For now this is only going to be available for pre-checked passengers.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Oh, so they're still scanning your bags? They're still scanning your bags. Yeah, it's still scanning your bag, but the prototype has a video monitor that provides step-by-step instructions, but they can kind of complete the screening at their own pace. But it does allow you, you know, it opens up the doors once you go through the belongings. But I think there's something to the interaction, you know i mean like being able to you know see some eye contact to be able to see you don't you think there's some i mean everything can't be computer so i
Starting point is 00:37:12 think there's some value to having um interaction with folks um also the positive side of this is it's only for the pre-check customers so at least there is some level of i guess additional security but now that you guys know that it's at least still going to the monitors, you're more comfortable with it? I'm more comfortable with it, but I don't care about the interaction with people as much as I care about them properly looking at people's bags. Yeah, that's what I care about more than anything. That's going through metal detectors. Yeah, as long as that's still happening, as long as we're still going through metal detectors, and as long as they're still searching people's bags the way should yeah i don't i don't have a problem with it yeah well there is something that to be said about the interaction but i do get your point and i just want to put the numbers out there's been 143 people who went through
Starting point is 00:37:53 checkpoints this year is up eight uh six percent um and so they're saying that they need more help and this this is a way to be able to get people through uh sooner and there was a record number of weapons that were seized as well in 2023 a total of 6 737 firearms 93 of those firearms were loaded yeah because i'm sitting there like you don't really interact with tsa unless you say hi it's not like the tsa agents are searching you the tsa agents are just looking to see if that scanner go off when you walk through and the person that's looking at your bag when it goes through the whatever that thing is called. Yeah, and then they just got to check your bag if it gets pulled. That's right.
Starting point is 00:38:30 That's it. But I will say this. I've been seeing a lot more people get stuck in the airport with their firearm, with the people purchasing more and more guns and them legalizing firearms. People are forgetting that they're in their bag. And like when you, especially when you travel in the South, you see so many signs. Check your bag to make sure your firearm is not there. Put your firearm in the car like you see a lot of it so a lot of people are forgetting their firearm is in their bag and they're actually trying to fly you do that in new york new jersey going to jail but a lot of those uh southern states they allow you to check them now let's talk about these uh recalls
Starting point is 00:39:00 yeah i do uh if you purchase a um swing at Walmart, I want you to know about this because this is really important. Imagine it's just somebody giving you a swing that has a suffocation risk. Take a listen. 63,000 Juul Baby Nova infant swings are being recalled this afternoon because they could pose a risk of suffocation. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says these swings have an incline angle greater than 10 degrees, which violates its infant sleep products regulation and also the Safe Sleep for Babies Act. They also fail to meet mandatory warning requirements for swings issued specifically for sleeping. These products were sold in stores and online at a number of retailers between November of 22 and November of 23.
Starting point is 00:39:40 If you have one of these, stop using it immediately for sleep and contact Jewel Baby for a free repair kit. So far, no reported injuries. So yeah, I think that's important when you're talking about almost 65,000 swings, so hopefully our listeners can benefit from that and stop using that immediately. I wonder how many people actually comply with recalls.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Like you hear a recall, but you done spent all this money on a swing set, and you're like man, I ain't taking this thing back. We gonna take our chances but the thing is you're gonna take a chance on a suffocation but it's been yeah because it's been dozens of infant deaths according to what we have here you know and it was banned more than a year ago so how is it even yeah why was he even still selling them yeah so you don't think nobody would comply charlotte no i said i wonder how many people actually comply with recalls. Like, when we hear about all these recalls
Starting point is 00:40:26 all the time, I wonder how many people actually comply with. Yeah, you know, it's difficult because a lot of times
Starting point is 00:40:30 people don't even hear it. They had their baby and they'd be like, well, my baby's fine. I ain't taking this thing, you know, taking this thing apart
Starting point is 00:40:35 and bringing it back to the store. Yeah, but it says that the inclined sleepers were banned for more than a year ago. I mean,
Starting point is 00:40:44 more than a year ago. How mean, more than a year ago. How are they even still selling in the stores? Right. Amazing. All right. Well, that is front page news. Thank you, Tess. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:40:52 And make sure you follow at Tesslyn Figaro on all social media platforms and subscribe to Tesslyn Figaro on the Screenshot No Chaser podcast. Subscribe to her Screenshot No Chaser podcast on the Black Effect iHeartRadio podcast network. All right. Well, 800-585-1051. Let's open up the phone lines. Seeing this on social media yesterday. And the question is what immediately tells you that a person wasn't raised?
Starting point is 00:41:14 Right. Oh, I like this top 800-585-1051. Let's discuss again. What immediately tells you that a person wasn't raised? Right. Is the question. Let's talk about it when we come back.
Starting point is 00:41:25 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. It's topic time. Call 800-585-1051 to join in to the discussion with The Breakfast Club. Let's talk about it. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. into the discussion with the breakfast club let's talk about it morning everybody it's dj
Starting point is 00:41:45 nv jess hilarious shalameen the guy we are the breakfast club now if you're just joining us we're talking about something that was on social media yesterday 800-585-1051 we're asking how can you tell somebody is not raised right or the question should be what immediately tells you that a person wasn't raised right let Let's start with you, Jess. When people blow their nose and don't wash their hands and then, you know, start trying to hug people and, you know, touch doors. And, you know, you work at a facility where a lot of people walk through that same door. Yeah, I'm like that. And when somebody talk back to their parents.
Starting point is 00:42:21 Oh, my gosh. My son got so many friends that talk back to their grandmothers wow and they're like yeah i don't know how they talk to their moms and dads but i know a lot of them stay with their grandparents and the way that they be talking to their grandparents when they'll say get off the game and stuff like that like i can just tell like oh my god yeah i agree with you it's always please and thank you i think that's the first thing you can see from people or how they speak to people, especially with kids. You can see when if kids speak to people, like if somebody comes in the room, whether they know him or not. Hello, how you doing? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:53 Mr. Mrs. If they know the last name, if they're not just to speak and usually how people treat older women. Yeah. Meaning like I look at and this is just me. It's just the way I was raised. I look at any older black woman as mama, right? So I'm always going to open the door
Starting point is 00:43:08 I'm always going to help, I'm always going to go out of my way because I look at any older black woman as my grandmother or my mother, so that's what I look at when I see people. What about you, Charlamagne? Same thing, man. Simple manners. My grandma and mama used to always tell me manners will take you where money won't
Starting point is 00:43:23 so things like walking in a room full of people and not speaking to anyone. When people don't address older folks by saying yes, ma'am, no, ma'am. When you out and about and you about to, you know, like like eating this other folks around and you don't ask anybody else if they hungry. When you call your mama by her first name, when you a child and you call any adult by her first name uh when you're a child and you call any adult by their first name um those are things that i look at and i'd be like okay that person that person's not really or if you don't put a handle on it like mr or miss there's nothing wrong with the first name but yeah i agree yeah all right well let's go to the phone lines 800-585-1051 uh what's your name hey what's up's your name? Hey, what's up?
Starting point is 00:44:05 Good morning. My name's Bukas. What's up, Bukas? How can you tell somebody ain't been raised right? You can tell somebody ain't been raised right just by their mannerisms.
Starting point is 00:44:15 You know, like saying thank you, you're welcome, please. So you open the door for somebody, you go inside the store, you open the door for two people
Starting point is 00:44:24 and they don't say thank you It's like who raised y'all? Yeah I agree Yeah Or just like You know people like Burping They don't say excuse me
Starting point is 00:44:33 They not cleaning up after themselves Or Just like Cursing in front of your elders You know growing up back then You wasn't even allowed to curse In front of your elders Right
Starting point is 00:44:41 You really gotta like Curve your tongue And go watch your mom I ain't gonna I still ain't Ain't allowed to curse in front of my moms Right You would've gotta like Curve your tongue Go watch your mom I ain't gonna I still ain't Ain't allowed the curse in front of my mom Yeah not my mom I just don't
Starting point is 00:44:48 Yeah not my mom My dad was a little more lenient But not my mom Hello who's this? Shawnee B Hey Shawnee B Good morning Good morning Envy
Starting point is 00:44:58 Now what What immediately tells you That a person wasn't raised right? If they're Disrespectful to their mother One Two If They don't have any People Skills tells you that a person wasn't raised right if they're disrespectful to their mother one two if they don't have any people skills like if somebody bump into you and you don't say excuse me or vice versa or you go you take them out to dinner and they're rude with the waitresses or stuff like
Starting point is 00:45:17 oh yes yeah i don't yes i can't stand that i hate them yeah yeah and i feel like it's not even about a financial thing because I was brought up poor I didn't know I was poor until I became an adult because I was a happy kid same right when you're raised right your mother instilled that in you from from you your mother your grandmother your father thank you like you ever had a picture day or something and you didn't have the proper clothes that she I am the excuse me this Adam what you did have that's right like things like that people don't even understand like I don't have the proper clothes that she, I am the, excuse me, the sh**, Adam, what you did have. That's right. You were presentable.
Starting point is 00:45:46 Like, things like that. People don't even understand, right? I don't know, this generation. Leshawn. Congratulations. Love you. Love you, Leshawn. You just cursed on the radio.
Starting point is 00:45:54 I don't know if he was raised right. Oh, my God. She called herself, though. She called herself. No, no, no. Let me give a shout out to my husband, Andre, and my beautiful daughter, Ella Rose. Love you guys.
Starting point is 00:46:03 What she said about the waiter and waitress is very true. Yeah. Because I always say if you want to, you could tell somebody's character by how they treat people who can't do anything for them. Correct. Yeah. It's so crazy to treat the waiter or waitress like that because they got your food. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:19 You know, they can do whatever they want to your food. What are you talking about? And I find myself overcompensating for friends that I go out and they treat the waiter like crap. I be like asking them is everything okay? You know,
Starting point is 00:46:30 I be like, let me order for y'all or I'll like overcompensate the waiter for that because they don't, you know what I'm saying? They are people too and it's like,
Starting point is 00:46:38 yo, you ain't got no money to be paying. I'm paying for this. So yeah, what if I don't pay for you? I take it a step further to Uber driver.
Starting point is 00:46:48 How people talk to Uber driver. You know what I mean? No mean no matter whose car i get in hey how you doing sir how you doing ma'am are you all right okay cool yeah just you just they're driving you to your destination you know and how the uber driver and the car driver treats other people i can't don't be doing that road rage stuff with me in the car don't be yelling at people flipping people off and all of that because you're gonna get us both shot yeah sometimes i do kind of like that i'll be trying to get where i'm going especially in new york jesus 800-585-1051 we're asking what immediately tells you that a person wasn't raised right let's discuss it's the breakfast club good morning Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed?
Starting point is 00:47:29 A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it.
Starting point is 00:47:43 I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe own country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong?
Starting point is 00:47:57 No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh, my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go.

Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams.
Starting point is 00:49:42 I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. Starting point is 00:52:34 Call 800-585-1051 to join in to the discussion with The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. If you're just joining us, we're opening up the phone lines 800-585-1051. We're asking, what immediately tells you that a person wasn't raised right? Another thing, when we have food up here, right, you always see who gets the food first and who allows people to get the food first. You can tell from that as well.
Starting point is 00:52:57 That's what I said earlier. When you're about to eat and there's other folks around and you don't ask if anyone else is hungry. Especially in a setting like this, i've seen some very rude people i've seen you see all the food that be up here whole spreads of food yeah and these interns that work here who don't get paid who be hungry and they want to eat you let them get a plate yeah you shouldn't be the person that's like why we can't go for it like you just my number one you already ate and you got money. Yeah. Let them interns eat.
Starting point is 00:53:27 Yeah. Crazy. I agree. Well, let's go to the phone lines. We got Nikki on the line. Nikki, good morning. Face fat enough as it is. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:53:33 What? I think your back getting big. It's your butt, sir. No, it's not. Nikki, good morning. Good morning, Grand Rison. I'm not a biscuit. Uh-uh.
Starting point is 00:53:45 Good morning, girl. What's that? good morning. Good morning, Grand Rising. I'm not a biscuit. Uh-uh. Good morning, girl. What's up? Good morning. We're asking what immediately tells you that a person wasn't raised right? Well, I feel like if you have dirty fingernails. Oh, my God. That is the dirtiest crap ever.
Starting point is 00:54:01 I hate seeing it. Yeah, right? And people putting their hands in their face and all that stuff is too much. And then when they bite their nails, like, what are you doing? Go get a pedicure like a real man. Yes, and go get a sandwich. Why are you biting your nails? Go get a sandwich. Like, please.
Starting point is 00:54:19 Wayne, good morning. Good morning, good morning. What's up, Envy? What's up, brother? We're asking, what immediately tells you That a person wasn't raised right? You know, like Like how they talk so ghetto You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:54:30 Like they can't even have Like a intelligent conversation Well, that's not true There's a lot of ghetto people Who can have very intelligent conversations I think that y'all think That you gotta be using All types of big words
Starting point is 00:54:40 And everything else To have an intelligent conversation Which is not the case Yeah, nah Some of the most intelligent conversations I have with people in the hood. I think I get what he's saying. He's trying to say like slang of it all. Like it's the time to use slang and it's the time to speak properly.
Starting point is 00:54:54 You know what I mean? You don't have to use big words to speak properly. So I get what you're saying, sir. Right. Right. Right. Hey,
Starting point is 00:55:01 Charlemagne. Yes, sir. Could I please get you? I just dropped the track about my mother. My mother had passed when I was three years old, and I dropped the track on my Instagram. Why are you doing this to me, man? My Instagram, at Wayne Wizzle.
Starting point is 00:55:18 At Wayne Wizzle. I got to listen, because it's about your mama who passed. How old are you, brother? Yeah, it's about my mama, Jess. You know what I'm saying? Okay. I love that. What's your Instagram?
Starting point is 00:55:30 Wayne Wizzle? Wayne Wizzle. Wayne Wizzle. W-Y-A-N-E-W-I-Z-Z-L-E. I've been rapping for a minute, but with this track right here, I've been getting a lot of traffic. You know what I'm saying? Because how deep I went on it. Say it again now. W-what? Wayne Wizzle. on it. Say it again now. W-what?
Starting point is 00:55:45 Wayne Wizzle. He ain't spell it like Wayne. Yeah. W-Y-A-N-E W-I-Z-Z-L-E W-Y-A Why you just say W-A-Y-N-E?
Starting point is 00:55:59 No, my mama spelled my name like that. Oh, okay. W-Y-A-N-E But my rap name is Wayne Wizzle. Oh, okay. A-N-E. But my rap name is Wayne Wizzle. W-Y-A-N-E-W-I-Z-Z-L-E. Your mama beautiful, my brother. It's a beautiful picture you got of her, man.
Starting point is 00:56:14 I appreciate this, Charlamagne. Yes, sir. I'm going to check it out. I'm looking at it right now. Recorded at Glass House Studios. All right, Wizzle. Yes, sir. One of the best studios in Tampa, Charlamagne.
Starting point is 00:56:24 Yes, sir. I'm going to check it out. Vaughn, come on in, Wizzle. Yes, sir. One of the best studios in Tampa, Shalaman. Yes, sir. I'm going to check it out. Vaughn, come on in, Vaughn. What's up, baby? What's up, Shalaman? What's going on, Jess? What's up, baby? Vaughn, now, we're asking in the numbers 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:56:37 What immediately tells you that a person wasn't raised right? Man, you know how when you hold the door for somebody and they walk by you and they'll say thank you and she won't buy me and I'm waiting for the same thank you so if you walk by me they say that I say I know you're mad may raise you right. Hey, yo, you had to hold the door. The door just automatically opened. You know, they got the guard instruction in the back with a guard instruction. Oh, I got you. I got you.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Those doors. Yeah, it's 305. I'm in Miami. They don't want no doors for us. They got to pull them open. Oh, yeah, I got you. I got you. But you know what? That's what I hate the most. I don't know why doors for us They gotta You gotta pull them open Oh yeah I got you I got you But you know what That's what I hate the most
Starting point is 00:57:26 I don't know why I hate that the most I don't mind if somebody Cut me off driving But when you hold a door For somebody And they just walk in like That's your job Like you supposed to
Starting point is 00:57:34 That irks me I don't know why that irks me so much Say thank you Acknowledge me or something That's crazy man But I Yeah I get what you're saying I don't
Starting point is 00:57:41 I don't need them to say thank you though Because you know like The way other people are Is gonna stop me from being who I am I know but it just irks me I don't need them to say thank you, though. Because, you know, like, the way other people are, they're going to stop me from being who I am. I know, but it just irks me. I don't know, but sometimes I be wanting to, like, clip them. Like, if, you know, and they don't say excuse me, I will step on the back of their shoe just so they can say something to you.
Starting point is 00:57:53 I'll be like, oh, my God, my bad. Like, yesterday I was going through the revolving door, and there was a guy coming in when I was going out. Yeah. And he ain't want to touch the door. Like, he had his hands in his pocket. Like, I'm not going to push the door. So we both stood there for like 30 seconds. Oh, well. I ain't got nowhere to go dumb and you know you gotta come through the
Starting point is 00:58:08 door that's right i don't know i hate when you be like um when you compliment somebody on their baby and they'll say nothing i'm like okay well never mind you know what i mean i i take my compliments but like oh my gosh she's so beautiful and they just be like and it's usually white people so i be like never mind like no I don't like that. Say thank you. Because the baby can't say thank you. That is true. You can also tell who's never been punched in the face.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Like, when I see somebody talking crazy to a person they don't know, but you can tell they probably used to talk crazy in their house, and nobody in their house checked them. The parents never went in their mouth. People like that I can tell, too. To me, that's a lack of manners, too. Discipline. Lack of discipline, too. Yeah, absolutely. You can just talk crazy to people. And you tell your like that, I can tell too. To me, that's a lack of, that's a lack of manners too. Discipline. Lack of discipline too.
Starting point is 00:58:47 Yeah, absolutely. You can just talk crazy to people and you tell your kids that too. You be like, all right now, you know, you might get away with this in this house. Somebody that don't love you outside going to do something to you. Oh yeah. Ashton and I done had plenty of talks when I'm like that. What? Cause I go in Ashton.
Starting point is 00:59:01 I don't care. Bink real quick. So yeah. I don't know how Rome do it, but I do it like that. Well, what's the moral of the story? Ladies and gentlemen, raise your kids, right? That's right. Raise your kids to the best of your ability.
Starting point is 00:59:18 There's no manual on it, but just teaching manners and just also teaching love to like, you know, loving on them. Because that gives you like a sense of empathy and sympathy and also just everything that you need if you love on your child. Don't be so mean because that's how you get mean kids and get mean adults if you're just so mean when you over discipline. But yeah, just raise it with manners. I agree with all of that. Manners will take you where money won't. That's what my mom and grandma used to tell me. Alright, well
Starting point is 00:59:39 we got Jess with the mess coming up. What are we talking about? Oh my god. She don't know. She hungry. Bishop Whitehead finally, finally found guilty of conning church member out of $90,000, amongst other charges. So, thank the Lord he's going to jail. Damn. All right. We'll get to that next.
Starting point is 00:59:58 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jess with the mess. News is real. News is real. Jess Hilarious. Jess Hilariousvy Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God, we are the Breakfast Club, let's get to Jess with the mess alright so let's keep it a stack Bishop Whitehead found guilty
Starting point is 01:00:22 on several charges he is the bishop of a small church in Brooklyn for those who don't, but I know y'all know because he probably stole from y'all. He's known for always showing up in full design. I'm talking about Gucci, out, designer, everything, every day. He was found guilty of conning a church member out of $90,000, wire fraud, attempted extortion, lying to the FBI, lying to the members of the church, lying to the congregation, lying to God, and related charges stemming from three separate schemes. He's facing
Starting point is 01:00:52 up to 45 years in prison in Jesus' name. Now, Christians, talk to me. How does the whole forgiveness thing work if you steal from church members? If you do it intentionally. Yeah, I just wonder. I just want to know. Only God can answer that. Yeah, you're right. Yeah, I just wonder. I just want to know. Only God can answer that. Yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 01:01:06 Only God. That's right. Because we cannot be answering for God. But you can't say only God can judge him, though, because he definitely got judged because he got convicted of all of them charges. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that's why God put judges in place. That's right.
Starting point is 01:01:17 That's why he's serving up to 45 years. Really? 45? Oh, yeah, he hasn't been finished yet, though. Yeah, he hasn't been yet, but yeah, he is facing up to 45 years. 45. 45. Yes, yes, yes.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Can I ask the congregation to pray for me if I'm Bishop Whitehead? No. Can I ask my congregation to pray for me? Yeah, you can ask them, but what do you think the congregation will do? Some of them will pray for him. Some of them? I mean, most of them, if they are, I guess it's Christian. Christian, they probably would.
Starting point is 01:01:44 What do you mean you guess? Yes, Christian. They're Christian people. Well, he's going through appeals now, but I guess if he does what's right and give the people back or whatever it was, I'm sure they'll pray for him. Please. You give me my money back. It's only because you got caught. So that's it.
Starting point is 01:01:59 What if he just give back 10%? You and the clown. Why is that mic up? That is crazy all right anyway Drake rumored to be dating Lotto's little sister rumors of relationship between Drake and Lotto's little sister Brooklyn are circulating a video what I'm leaving a restaurant together hit the internet there is no solid confirmation that they are dating but between the video and some of drake's bars on a recent feature have people convinced now i'm gonna play a couple um bars from for bat song act two dated eight how you get all of that body and face though what kind of water they serving in clay cold
Starting point is 01:02:35 listen me talking it's not dna ho ready to pop out but we gotta lay low he said how you get all of that body and face though because she's Because she's 21. She's a baby. She's fresh and ripe. Damn. Yes, absolutely. And Drake is 37. That's why, if it is true, they are receiving so much backlash. Well, Drake, per se, is receiving the backlash.
Starting point is 01:02:57 People are comparing that relationship to Drea and Jalen Green, saying men and women should be held accountable for predatory relationships. Drea is 39 and currently pregnant with Jalen Green saying men and women should be held accountable for predatory relationships. Drea is 39 and currently pregnant with Jalen Green's child. He's 22. So that's been the topic of discussion for the past few days.
Starting point is 01:03:14 So let me ask a question. I'm just asking the question here. Yes, sir. If you're 37 and you meet somebody who's 21, is that predatory behavior? If you're 37 and you meet somebody who's 21, is that predatory behavior? Maybe 37 and you meet somebody that's 21.
Starting point is 01:03:27 I mean, no. Now, if they tell you they're 21. If you knew them since they were 16 or 17 and you waited until they're 21, that's different. But if you just met them when they're 21. At a club or at a bar or somewhere else. Okay.
Starting point is 01:03:40 I mean, like I said, when you say, oh, how old are you? And the guy's like, I'm 37. How old are you? And the guy's like, I'm 37. How old are you? I'm 21. All right.
Starting point is 01:03:50 So what does that mean? So how do you proceed after that, Charlamagne? I mean, I've never been the type to like those super, super, super age gap relationships. But I mean, the person's 21. They're a grown adult. Yeah, but it's the difference in mindset a lot of the time that's what I'd be wondering I'm like what the hell are y'all talking about
Starting point is 01:04:07 I need the person if I make a Doogie Howser joke I need you to know who Doogie Howser was if I make a Wu-Tang reference I need you to know who Wu-Tang was I don't know Doogie Howser
Starting point is 01:04:15 but I do know Wu-Tang but what makes it but what makes it but what makes it comfortable for people when you're talking about age gaps right yeah because you just talked
Starting point is 01:04:22 about Drake and and Lotto's sister Brooklyn right but then Beyonce and Jay they're about 12-13 years gaps right yeah because you just talked about drake and and lotto sister brooklyn right but then beyonce and jay they're about 12 13 years apart right yeah and then heath cliff huxtable and claire huxtable he was about well they're characters but all right not much is 37 21 i'm not good at math 16 jesus christ it is at 16 years i know what's going on in here i mean i guess for me the biggest thing is the
Starting point is 01:04:46 the conversation yeah it's just the conversation like I said there's certain references I'm gonna make that I'm gonna need you to understand
Starting point is 01:04:51 yeah and we can't have surface level conversations all the time because you can't go deeper that's right if LL Cool J come on the radio and I'm like
Starting point is 01:04:58 oh shoot LL and then you be like I didn't know he used to rap oh my god exactly that's why I said okay you know what I'm saying damn but you know the youngins might feel then you'd be like, I didn't know he used to rap. Oh my God. Just like my son. Exactly. That's why I said, okay.
Starting point is 01:05:07 For real. Damn. But you know, the youngins might feel the same way. They might be talking about a rapper that they know about or a singer they know about or a show they watch. That's true too.
Starting point is 01:05:14 That's true too. Both ways. Well, I don't know. I guess we can discuss that for another topic or do something else. And I've also heard so many women nowadays
Starting point is 01:05:22 say they like Unc them. That's what they into. Old men. Old men, yeah. I'm hearing a lot of girls say that. I like say they like unk them that's what they into yeah i'm hearing a lot of girls say that i like unk them see that's the thing i tried to unk them and he was acting like a nephew to him so i went back to to your age my age range like i went back to me because like just because guys are older that does not make them mature that does not make them intellectual or anything like i need a guy that can lead and that I can learn from. And at the same time,
Starting point is 01:05:47 we can, you can learn from me. You know what I'm saying? Because older people don't know it all as well either. But I can't, it's give and take. Like, I can't just
Starting point is 01:05:54 be teaching you everything and you old. What? So, no. Let's talk about this after donkey. Yep. Tammy Rivera addresses
Starting point is 01:06:01 Waka Flocka's new girlfriend. So, Tammy Rivera shared a post to her Instagram and said, No one can make me jealous over a seat I had first. You wouldn't be sitting there if I didn't get up. Ha! I know that's right. So then Waka Flocka's new girlfriend thought it was a subliminal to her, right?
Starting point is 01:06:15 So she posted a message on her own Instagram, said, Being washed up and can't let go of your ex is crazy. Okay. But this is the one. And she also said, This is the one because it's giving jealous and bitter so then the blogs picked that up and started sharing that and and tammy responded to the blogs and said man i'm just waking up it's 9 a.m over where i'm at waka we literally just
Starting point is 01:06:38 talked about this last night your morning waka get. Before I hurt our little feelings. Oh, by the way, that post wasn't even about him, nor you. But, hit dogs holler. You effed up. You effing up your seat. Sheen Tammy. She called it a Sheen Tammy. A Teemu Tammy would have sounded better. Because she's, um, that just would have sounded better if she said Teemu.
Starting point is 01:06:59 But she didn't. A social media user then claimed Tammy only responded that way. So people can know that she still speaks to Waka. But they have a whole daughter together. whether that is his biological daughter or not. Charlie is still his daughter, so they're going to speak. When Tammy saw that comment, she clarified that she was still speaking to Waka because they're still legally married, which I didn't even know. The sort of divorce ain't even final. She says, sweetie, we talk because of our daughter.
Starting point is 01:07:24 And to be honest, we still legally married. So we have to because we have business that has to be handled together until them papers are signed. Grown people business. Now, I was going to defend Tammy here because she's in a relationship right now with somebody I know. So she's in another relationship. Now, who knows that that original message that she posted,
Starting point is 01:07:42 no one can make me jealous over a seat I had or whatever. She could have been going through something in her current relationship. We know how women take the social media to express things when they're on, you know, in on and off again relationships. But she posted something a little later saying that she's happy in her own relationship or whatever. So it's like, who is she talking about? Yeah. But I do understand that we as women always don't post
Starting point is 01:08:06 something that's related to us. So that could have just been the one that she wanted to post. And the little girlfriend got a little sour about it. But either way,
Starting point is 01:08:14 you know, they not legally divorced and I didn't know that. They still legally married. Mm. Mm. So, that's just what the mess.
Starting point is 01:08:21 That's the thing nobody gonna understand. That's just what the mess in her noose is real Elijah like that's Charlemagne who you giving your
Starting point is 01:08:27 donk to man four after the hour we need Madonna to come to the front of the congregation we like to have a war with her man sleuth all our
Starting point is 01:08:32 listeners out there in wheelchairs we appreciate you oh my god alright we riding with you this morning okay that's right
Starting point is 01:08:39 we what we riding with them this morning oh my god okay alright well donk of the Day is up next. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:08:46 Good morning. You're checking out The Breakfast Club. It's time for Donkey of the Day. Donkey of the Day. I'm a Democrat, so being Donkey of the Day is a little bit of a mixed place. But like a donkey. Keyhole. Donkey of the Day.
Starting point is 01:09:05 The Breakfast Club, bitches. Now, I've been called a lot in my 23 years that donkey of the day is a new one. Yes. Donkey of the day for Tuesday, March 12th. That is the date, right? Tuesday, March 12th? Yes, it is. Tuesday, March 12th.
Starting point is 01:09:19 Goes to the cultural pop icon known as Madonna, okay? Drop on the clues bombs for Madonna. Now, if you don't know, Madonna is currently on her celebration tour and she had a recent stop in LA and she's been getting smoke online after she questioned the concert goer for sitting down during her show
Starting point is 01:09:38 before realizing they were in a wheelchair. Let's listen. What are you doing sitting down over there? What are you doing sitting down over there? What are you doing sitting down? Oh, okay. Politically incorrect. Sorry about that. I'm glad you're here.
Starting point is 01:09:58 Madonna, Madonna, Madonna. She must be a blood because she showed absolutely zero respect for the Crip. Okay. Madonna, you might as well have asked him to come up to do some jokes so he could have told you I don't do stand up. And I love moments like this. OK, if you have ever been in high school and told a yo mama joke to somebody whose mother was dead, you feel Madonna's pain. If you have ever asked someone how many months you are and that person replies i'm not pregnant then you feel madonna's pain if you have ever met someone who has one arm or one hand and your dumb ass goes to dap them as if they have have one okay you felt madonna's pain now madonna said she was being politically
Starting point is 01:10:36 incorrect i disagree the definition of politically incorrect is that uh you do not care if you offend or upset other people in society who have a disadvantage, who have been treated differently because of their sex, gender, race or disability. Madonna clearly cared that the person was in the wheelchair. OK, an example of political incorrectness would be if Saucy Santana was in that moment and Saucy told someone to stand up, didn't realize the person was in a wheelchair, didn't acknowledge they was in a wheelchair, and then proceeded to perform walk. Okay? And while we were on the subject, it is time for artists to think about the disabled among us when they make music.
Starting point is 01:11:10 Okay? For example, the Migos didn't think about folks with wheelchair disabilities or the mute when they made walk it, talk it. Okay? Petey Pablo didn't think about amputees or people born with no arms when he made raise up. All right? Take your shirt off, spin it around your head like a helicopter.
Starting point is 01:11:24 How? I would love to, shirt off, spin it around your head like a helicopter. How? I would love to, Petey, but I can't. I wonder, has there ever been an amputee with no arms who went to a concert and a rapper, you know, said, throw your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care and then stopped the show
Starting point is 01:11:37 to shame the amputee for not having his hands up? Inquiring minds would truly like to know. Okay, we also don't give enough credit to artists who have made songs that are inclusive of those with wheelchair disabilities. Tupac Shakur, picture me rolling. Thank you, Tupac. OK, big timers, everybody get your roll on. Thank you, Manny and Birdman. OK, I love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Not only was it inclusive to people with wheelchair disabilities, it was inclusive to crack addicts. What kind of rock do you think he was talking about? Not only was it inclusive to people with wheelchair disabilities, it was inclusive to crack addicts.
Starting point is 01:12:06 What kind of rock do you think he was talking about? Madonna, the only thing that would have been worse than this is if you would have told an amputee who had their arms removed to Vogue. Can you imagine? Stop the music. Why aren't you voguing? Meanwhile, the person trying, but they don't have any arms, so they all shoulders with it. The moral of the story is, mind your business. Okay?
Starting point is 01:12:24 Mind your business. All right? Or instead of asking demands, ask questions. It shouldn't be, why aren't you standing? It should have been, why aren't you standing?
Starting point is 01:12:35 That simple question would have... Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy.
Starting point is 01:12:48 There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson the First, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tried my own country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Starting point is 01:13:07 What could go wrong? I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help!
Starting point is 01:13:22 We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. One of our producers earlier going to be walking behind him talking about, move out the way. You slow, and you know I can't get around you. Why would you say that to somebody? He was a little slow. Starting point is 01:19:13 That's all cap Handicap Salute to everybody that's listening to us In the wheelchair this morning We appreciate you Salute to y'all The Breakfast Club sandwich That's right

That's right. You could have kept that. Crazy. You know what? Get out of here. Get out. Damn, man. It's going to take him a second to get out.
Starting point is 01:19:30 It's going to take him a second. I'm a mess. All right. He's getting out. All right. Yeah, door's closing. All right. Well, let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 01:19:37 This comes out of Jess with the mess. Now, we were talking about both Drea and her boo. I think Drea is 39 and her boo just turned 22. She's pregnant. We were also talking about Drake and he's allegedly dating Lotto's sister, Brooklyn. She's 21 and I think Drake is what, 36, 37? He is 37. 37.
Starting point is 01:19:56 Yes. So we're asking 800-585-1051, what are your thoughts of older people dating someone with such a big age gap? So just to tell you, Mick Jagger, he's with his lady, and they're 44 years apart. Shut up. Cher and, you know, Alexander A. used to manage Tiger. They're 36 years apart. Shut up.
Starting point is 01:20:15 Who else? Eddie Murphy is dating his lady, and they're 18 years apart. Quiet. Who else is there? I've seen Michael Douglas, if you remember him. Him and his lady's 25 years apart. Oh, my God, no. Who else is there? I've seen Michael Douglas, if you remember him and his ladies, 25 years apart. Oh my God, no. Who else is there?
Starting point is 01:20:32 George Clooney, 17 years apart. There was, who else is on this? Ellen DeGeneres. Oh my God, what? 15 years apart. She got a sugar mama? Her wife is 15 years apart. Younger than her. Yes, younger than her. Oh my God, little Albert. Jay-Z Her wife is 15 years apart. Younger than her.
Starting point is 01:20:46 Yes, younger than her. Oh, my God. Jay-Z and Beyonce is 12 years apart. I think Mariah and Nick Cannon were 11 years apart. So there's a lot to talk about. But he bad a crush on her. He loved her. So what that mean?
Starting point is 01:21:01 He want to go get her. She ain't go get him. Does it matter? We talking about age gap. Yeah, she right. All right. 800-585-1051. Let's discuss.
Starting point is 01:21:08 What's your thoughts? It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. It's topic time. Call 800-585-1051 to join in to the discussion with The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 01:21:30 We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you're just joining us, we're talking about age gaps in dating or marrying. Now, this conversation, of course, comes out of Jess with the mess. We were talking about Drake and Lotto's sister, Brooklyn, and also Drea and Jalen Brown. What's Jalen's last name? Just say Jalen. Jalen from the houston green i think jaylen green yeah uh and of course she's pregnant she's 39 and a young man just turned 22 yes if you're just joining us we're asking what are your thoughts of older people dating someone with such a big age gap we'll start with you just what's your thoughts um i don't really know like i just feel like what is the level of like and it depends like okay so
Starting point is 01:22:08 with drake shorty is 21 he's 37 what is the conversations like what are you know like can y'all ah does she is she does she constantly can y'all go on a date without having a phone in her hand the whole time like is that you know what i'm saying i i don't know like i my little sister 21 20 21 you get what i'm saying so like if she bring a 39 year old nigga home or a 39 year old girl home you know because she gay right now i just i don't i don't know how that will look but then again you know people grow up a little faster than they used to i have no no idea, but I just, I don't know. I look at it from two different angles, right? I look at it and I see some of these couples that are married and it seemed like things are good with a 12 year gap or even some of these with a 20 year gap.
Starting point is 01:22:57 But now I take it out of that and I'm saying my daughter, right? Yeah. My daughter is 22. Would I want her to date a 39 year old man? No. Right. Because a 39 year old man experienced more life. Right. He knows more.
Starting point is 01:23:06 And I would think he's wanted a younger woman because he wants to mold her. Right. You know what I mean? Right. That's what I would think. So I look at it in different aspects, you know? Yeah. It just depends.
Starting point is 01:23:16 Like now, if a 60 year old man marries a 48 year old woman or a 45 year old woman, that's different. Y'all already lived a lot of life. I think so. Absolutely. You lived life. It's still a 20 year age gap. It is. woman or 45 year old woman that's different y'all already lived a lot of life absolutely you lived you lived life it's still a 20 year age gap it is but is the younger you are the younger it is to me it's just like charlotte man you're 70 something you lived through segregation i mean of course you remember when it was colored bathrooms and white holes
Starting point is 01:23:39 you ain't experienced that but you said before that you you love older women i do like older women so you would date older women if you weren't married that. But you said before that you love older women. I do like older women. So you would date older women if you weren't married or, you know, you would. Probably. But, you know, even when it comes to these conversations we having now, if you 30-something and you meet someone when they 20-something, ain't nothing wrong with that. If you 40-something and you meet a 20-something, nothing wrong with that.
Starting point is 01:23:58 I see folks giving Drea and Drake smoke like they out here dating teenagers or something. And, like, he didn't bust in that thing. What? Yeah. He did that himself. Yeah. I'm just saying.
Starting point is 01:24:10 Not what. But I'm just saying, like, she didn't, like, trap him. You know what I'm saying? Like, he obviously loves her. Like, you know what I mean? So, I don't know. We can't really. We're talking about Drea.
Starting point is 01:24:19 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, if Jalen didn't have an issue with it and he's actively dating her, okay. Like, same thing. If Brooklyn is like, if they are dating, if that's what she want, that's what she want. You know what I mean? Like, if it's against the will, it's different. But my little sister definitely can't bring home no 39-year-old, nothing. I get it.
Starting point is 01:24:41 But I guess when I hear them say, oh, Dre is a predator. Drake's a predator. They're not breaking the law. Yeah. The only thing I think about in situations like that is, what do y'all talk about? What do you have in common? That's what I would like to know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:56 I need a woman to understand my references because some of my jokes may not hit the same. Okay? But, I mean, it all depends. Like you said, my daughter's 22 years old. She knows all the music I listen to. She watches the TV shows I listen to. She has an old soul. So, depending on how old her parents are, she can have those conversations.
Starting point is 01:25:13 You know what I mean? Right. And that's because you raised her right. Correct. Well, let's go to the phone lines. Hello, who's this? It's Crystal. Hi, y'all.
Starting point is 01:25:20 Hey, Crystal. Good morning. What's your thoughts? And I just want to say, as far as the age gap, I guess it's all in your preference. But me personally, I knew this older man and we were friends for a long time. And then he asked me out and went out and I just couldn't get like the dad vibes out of my head. Like the age just really messed with me. I'm 41.
Starting point is 01:25:39 He's probably like 60 something. So we just were friends. Okay. You said you're 41? Yes. And he's 60 something. So we just, we're friends. Okay. You said you're 41? Yes. And he's 60 something? Yes. Right.
Starting point is 01:25:50 So she couldn't get the dad vibes out of her. Dad vibes, right. Yeah. That's a wild age gap. My age. Yeah. Okay. I think if your age gap can't be old enough to drink.
Starting point is 01:26:01 If the age gap between you is 21, that kind of crazy you know what i mean like it gotta be like within the decade range now we have sheena on the line and sheena you seeing you and your husband is 40 years apart yes i'm 34 he's 74 damn what do you do for a living why i mean not why but you know why yeah what do he do? He's retired. He worked on a plantation all his life. I'm sure. I know. He was in the 1800s.
Starting point is 01:26:31 I know he was born in the 1800s. I know. Okay. But they set him up. So he has wings. He has cars. He's set for life. You really was dating a slave. He has cars He's He's set for life So he's written That's right
Starting point is 01:26:45 He really was dating a slave And you And you When he got his freedom papers Y'all got married 40 acres and a mule All set Ah
Starting point is 01:26:52 He said he's a set up slave He's a rich slave So he's written So it's like How did y'all meet? I'm just curious how y'all met Don't say on a plantation Um
Starting point is 01:27:01 No Not on a plantation I mean Honestly we started out like he was my sugar daddy i ain't gonna lie sugar granddaddy okay daddy and at first when it's when he asked me for my hand in marriage i was like oh no like no i'm not doing that but after a while i mean he treated me good he treated my kids good He was the first man That I didn't have to do anything for He wanted to do everything for me
Starting point is 01:27:29 For nothing Like I didn't have to Give him anything How much is he worth? I mean I I won't say But it's a lot He's up there
Starting point is 01:27:37 I know that's right Mr. Claude What was his Yeah what was his What was his name Not his slave name What was his What's the name he took After emancipation? He's slave name. What's the name he took after emancipation?
Starting point is 01:27:45 He's stupid, yo. Lee? It's just Lee. Lee. No last name. Just Lee. Lee X. Is he black, Sheena?
Starting point is 01:27:58 His first name is only two letters, and then the last name is Lee. Is he black? Yeah, black. He was a slave because he was black all right well have a good one have a good day man then please don't start off no conversations like that no more he worked on the plantation all his life damn he finished they set him up for life oh my god oh my goodness 800-585-1051. If you're just joining us, we're talking about the age gap in dating or marriage. All right.
Starting point is 01:28:29 What are your thoughts of older people dating someone with such a big age gap? Let's discuss. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. If y'all talking about it, you know we talking about it. It's Topic Time. Call 800-585-1051 to join in to the discussion with The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:28:52 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. If you're just joining us, this conversation comes out of Jess with the mess when we were talking about Drake allegedly dating Lotto's sister, Brooklyn. She's 21. Drake is, what, 37? mess when we were talking about drake allegedly dating lotto sister brooklyn she's 21 drake is what 37 and also um drea dating uh actually having a baby from the young man that plays on the houston rockets he's he just turned 22 and she's 39 and we're asking what are your thoughts
Starting point is 01:29:16 and we have keema did i say your name right kiki keema it's keema oh i had it right keema i'm sorry what's your thoughts so first of all i just want to say shout out 843. Uncle Charlotte, what's happening? Hey, Low Country, what's happening? How are you? I'm good. I'm good. Well, really, I look at it this.
Starting point is 01:29:34 I don't see it as being good or bad, like the age gap. I think some people in those situations are basically space fillers. Like, they serve their purpose for that time. And then once it's done, it's done. In hindsight, you know, that age gap, it could be something that has longevity because one person is mature than the other. Like when you mentioned Jay-Z and Beyonce, I think that's kind of that situation. You know, Beyonce, she grew up, she was exposed to the industry at an early age she grew up a little faster than most other females her age so that relationship and the age gap works
Starting point is 01:30:10 for them it's no different um like if you think about it now like you know you guys are taking your kids to school each morning dropping them off but it might be a little kid that has to catch seven eight buses to get to school that's exposed to a lot more that makes them have to grow up a lot faster so people their age they just don't vibe but you know what i mean yeah okay well thank you mama congratulations jess i hate you in the background girl thank you boo you're welcome peace low country yes hello who's this i like her um yo that's lala now lala it says here that you're dating a man 22 years older than you yup I'm 36
Starting point is 01:30:47 he's 57 it's your sugar daddy you okay you okay no it said I'm 36 he's 57 yeah
Starting point is 01:30:56 he aging you girl he's 57 alright okay okay how long y'all been together he think he young he think he young how long y'all been together? He think he young. He think he young. How long y'all been together?
Starting point is 01:31:08 On and off six years, but we on right now. We on right now. That mean he made you a little toes curl last night. The way you said that. Charlamagne, come on now. You see that? She said, come on now. You're the only one I ain't made yet.
Starting point is 01:31:23 Don't do that. Whoa. What that mean? Yeah. That's why you ain't made yet. Don't do that. Whoa. What I mean? Yeah. That's why you can't date nobody. No, I seen Jess when she came. She did her show. I seen her show.
Starting point is 01:31:33 She was absolutely fabulous. I seen DJ Emory when I was in Louisiana for the Essence Festival one year. Okay. I'm going to see you. Oh, okay. I don't know you. You just hang up on Lala like that, man? Hello, who's this hey sharon now it says you're dating uh you're 33 years old and you're dating a guy that's very young how old is he he's 19 jesus christ how old are you 33 i'm 33 yes how long y'all been dating
Starting point is 01:32:02 okay so she's not breaking the law still, I don't think, right? No. Almost a year now. But he pursued me. And it's happening to, like, everybody, like, that I know around my age, my generation. They've been pursued by this younger generation because we look younger. People keep telling me I look like 26, stuff like that. I get that all the time. Where you from?
Starting point is 01:32:24 I'm from Buffalo, New York. Okay. It was Mafia. What you do? I'm a veteran. So I was just getting my disability, but now I just started working again. I do collections. Oh.
Starting point is 01:32:35 So he's 18. Where'd you meet him at? He's 19. No, she met him at 18. Yeah, but he's 19 now. Okay, he's 19. Where'd you meet him? She met him at 18.
Starting point is 01:32:42 Where'd you meet him at? At school? No. Hampton. Like, my mom. I'm's 19 now. Okay, he's 19. Where'd you meet him? She met him at 18. Where'd you meet him at? At school? No. Hampton. Like, my mom, I'm in for JN now, and my mom was like, I was trying to find somebody, you know, to smoke with because I just got out of a relationship, and I didn't know nobody here. My mom's like, well, he's a nice person.
Starting point is 01:32:59 Smoke with him. I didn't want anybody who already tried to talk to me. So I was kind of like blindsided because I was not talking to anybody who tried to holler at me, you know? You said she smoked with you. Yeah, I smoked some weed with her. So she out in Virginia. So her mom wanted her to smoke with this young man. All right, look, let me ask you real quick.
Starting point is 01:33:17 What did you ever see? Anything that she would probably, did he ever give you signs like, oh, no, he too young? Like anything? Did he ever do anything to turn you off because of his age or what definitely now that we're talking you know we definitely got that that big gap this is a lot of stuff that i'll talk about he doesn't know and vice versa he'd be talking about with that girl sexy red i don't care about her i don't know about her but apparently that's what's not right now you know but that you know so we have that and then a whole bunch of stuff he does it's just like immature but i get that with people that's what it's not right now. You know? But we have that.
Starting point is 01:33:46 And then a whole bunch of stuff he does is just like immature. But I get that with people that's my age. They're immature too. So I'm not holding that against him because he's 19. Because there's 33-year-olds that's just as immature.
Starting point is 01:33:56 Does he go to Hampton University? Goes to college? No, he's working. He's about to have to, you know, be testing fire equipment, making a lot of money going on all week. But he has to do that because it's embarrassing for me if he doesn't.
Starting point is 01:34:09 Okay. Do you see yourself with him? Yeah, of course. I know that's right. All right, girl. All right. Well, enjoy, I guess. Yeah, congratulations.
Starting point is 01:34:17 All right, listen. If I was a young boy, I wouldn't want none of these nasty little young girls either. But 33 at 18 is a little weird. It's 19. Why do you keep doing that? They started dating at 18. But he's 19 now. They started 33 at 18 is a little weird it's 19 why you keep doing that and started dating at 18 19 now they started dating at 19 33 and 19 if i was 19 i probably want me an older woman too but does he look 19. probably taller than her yeah you know what i'm saying and he probably
Starting point is 01:34:39 one of them 19 years that don't want to deal with these young girls. We talk about sexy red every day. You do talk about it. Yeah. Sexy red, yeah. You're right. She want to talk about Jill Scott. She don't want to talk about no sexy red. He might like that, though. She might be introducing him to a vibe that he didn't even really know he liked.
Starting point is 01:34:54 Damn, I come over here, the candles lit. Do you know what I'm saying? You know? It smell like shea butter. An opportunity. She got me eating healthy, drinking juices and stuff. You know? Okay.
Starting point is 01:35:05 What's the long of the story, guys? Do what works for you. Do you, boo, do you. As long as it's legal. Do what works for you, but do not break the law. Yeah, as long as it's legal. All right. That's it.
Starting point is 01:35:15 Yeah, do what works for you. All right. Well, we got Jess with the Mess coming up. What are we talking about? I don't even know yet. Okay. All right. All right.
Starting point is 01:35:20 Well, we'll get to that in a second, so don't go anywhere. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. All right. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jess with the mess.
Starting point is 01:35:30 The news is real. The news is real. Jess Hilarious, Jessica Robin Moore. Jess don't do no lie. Jess is going to bring you numbers. Jess with the mess. The news is real. On The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:35:39 I know they know the distance. Keep it a secret. All right. Chris Brown is still liking Carucci's pictures. Okay. Duh. Kanye says F Drake
Starting point is 01:35:51 and plenty of other enemies while celebrating carnival hitting number one. He's mad at Drake for taking Dirk on tour at the beginning of Vulture's Rollout. Ain't nobody gonna say
Starting point is 01:36:01 nothing back to you. When you said celebrating carnival, I just imagined Kanye decked out with all the flowers on, titties out. You know, ain't nobody gonna say nothing back to you when you said celebrating carnival i just imagine i hope he know anybody will say nothing back nobody care kanye jesus well he has a number one record number one single and that's amazing him rich the kid tydallos on and yeah amazing saudi arabia's first male robot accused of touching a woman's butt are we gonna arrest the robot okay party next door says his love life gets in the way of making music so make the damn music you need to take a page out of Brandy book out of Taylor
Starting point is 01:36:36 Swift but that's when you make the best music when you're in love yeah but he won't be party next door that's Yeah, but he want to be partying next door. That's why he keep hurting himself. Be partying and in love. He can't do it. Remy my scene with a stank attitude at Papu's birthday party. Now, what if the cameras just caught Remy in a bad moment when she was upset about something? That's what I'm saying. Remy ain't ever got no, hey, y'all, what's up, nice face.
Starting point is 01:37:01 Never. That's not acting like she has a welcoming face like that's right you better know who you're talking to when you're talking to reminisce and all they did right and all she did was like move over because he was trying to take a picture with the baby but he put his arms out so she can come to him and she wasn't ready to come to him so she was sitting on her mom's lap and he jumped in the picture you know told somebody take a picture and remi just moved over a little bit that was it it wasn't wasn't no stank face. Starting point is 01:40:09 And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. Starting point is 01:42:49 Back when him and Summer was dating And he was helping her Carry the groceries in the house Oh the same cousin Yeah Now but he's young So he lies So now he's sleeping with his cousin
Starting point is 01:42:58 Alright Monique's son On her latest comments She told the world I was a nigga What if I would have went in the car and blew my effing brains out? Call honey call it calling him a nigga. What if you just text your mom? That would be great. What did they detect each other? Yeah. Yeah, what if?
Starting point is 01:43:19 Kim Kardashian and Odell Beckham Junior gets cozy during Oscar's after party. Well, that's what people do when they're dating. Don't nobody care if we don't like that they're dating. They're supposed to get cozy. Bobby Brown and his wife receive honorary doctorate degrees. Let's go. Dropping the clues bombs for Bobby Brown and his wife.
Starting point is 01:43:37 What school? Do we know what school? No, I didn't even ask for that. Because I find these things like a little complicated on how I feel about them. Because how you can just pay for a degree is just crazy to me. ask for that because i find these things like a little complicated on how i feel about them because how you can just pay for a degree is just crazy to me and there's so many people like pay for degrees celebrities really i think black china got one from harvard charlamagne got one from south carolina china didn't get no honorary degree no she didn't she actually worked she actually
Starting point is 01:43:59 went to school i mean um not you charlam, because you never go to college. But Angela actually went to school and earned hers. So what'd you do? How much did you pay for it? I didn't pay nothing for it. I got an honorary degree from South Carolina State University because of my work in my home state of South Carolina. The community work that I do and my work revolving around mental health and my career in communications. But you started a college from there, right? Yeah, so why didn't you? I do and my work revolving around mental health and my career in communications. But you started a college from there, right?
Starting point is 01:44:27 Yeah, so why didn't you? I started an endowment scholarship fund at South Carolina State University because, you know, it's a quarter million dollar scholarship in my mother's name because that's my mother's alma mater. So why didn't you just get a trophy? Why do y'all need degrees? Because I have a great, thank God, I have a great journalism career. I guess a journalism. So I got a degree, thank God, I have a great journalism career. I guess a journalism. So I got a degree in journalism, communications. I just wonder how real students feel about that because they have to bust their head. My mom was alma mater.
Starting point is 01:44:54 I appreciate the recognition from the school. I'm sure there'll be a school in Maryland that do that for you. I'm not accepting it. Because somebody will pull up exactly what I said today. If I'm sitting there accepting an honorary degree, I'll be like, hold up, Jess. Remember when you said this? Yeah. So I'll be like, no, I decline respectfully.
Starting point is 01:45:12 And I'm going to take my courses just like every other student. But yeah, some people do pay for them now. Don't act like that. All right. Joey Badass and Soraya seemingly have an emotional exchange that leaves Soraya in tears. Now, I hate headlines like this because this is a couple who obviously just was paparazzi, walked up on them while they were arguing and they didn't even
Starting point is 01:45:31 get the end. I watched the whole video and he consoled her at the end. So whatever they was arguing about, you know how Joey is. Is Joey from New York? Yes, bro. Yeah, you know, and Soraya's obviously, you know, she's a little fragile little thing, little cutie and she's emotional and she cried and he consoled her like leave these people alone i'm saying we don't even know if they was even arguing her hamster might have died you know i mean they
Starting point is 01:45:54 might have just finished watching diary of a mad black woman or something and they just took a walk and wanted to cry a little bit i don't think the hamster died. Absolutely not. We just don't know that they was arguing. They were arguing, and it could have been like a little disagreement. It made her emotional, and then he consoled her at the end. So it's just regular relationship stuff. Absolutely. Gosh, Ice Spice want people to stop worrying about her wearing the same hairstyle. I've been saying this for months.
Starting point is 01:46:22 I hate that. Even some of our producers, they'll be like, uh-uh uh-uh she got I don't like that little Annie wig why cuz she don't look like everybody else she's the only thing we're happy to got her own look what produce up here said that cuz I ain't seen a different hairstyle in five years only produce that's enough is which the hell so we'll hide how dead they talk oh my god no but I'm. I'm just saying. No, but I'm saying, everybody always be saying that. Like, oh, she need to stop.
Starting point is 01:46:49 She need to stop. So she liked the tweet about Ariana Grande wearing the same ponytail for five years straight. Now, I said this. That is true. I said this before. And they, the white people jumped on me. It was like, hold up.
Starting point is 01:46:58 She has alopecia in the top of her head or she has a bald spot in the top of her head. I said, y'all never heard Ariana say nothing about no daggone bald spot in the top of her head or she has a bald spot in the top of her head. I said, y'all never heard Ariana say nothing about no daggone bald spot in the top of her head. And if she does have a bald spot in the top of her head,
Starting point is 01:47:10 it's from wearing the same ponytail in the same spot. Hey, listen, I ain't never claimed to be the highest grade of weed in the dispensary. I didn't know
Starting point is 01:47:15 why people got alopecia. I didn't know this. And I don't like when people be like, I'm an alopecia survivor. Yo, shut up. When people say that, I swear I chuckle. I be like, you a survivor of alopecia?. People say that, I swear, Chuckle.
Starting point is 01:47:25 I be like, you a survivor of Ella Peach? Jesus Christ, that's Jess with the mess. Her news is real. Let's get to the mix next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. You're checking out the Breakfast Club. It's Women's History Month,
Starting point is 01:47:40 and we're celebrating the most influential women in history. Check out this phenomenal woman. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlam influential women in history. Check out this phenomenal woman. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, it's Women's History Month, and who are we repping today? So we're going to, I feel, you know, this person is very, very close to me, near and dear to my heart, because she's also a fellow Baltimorean, and it's Snoop from The Wire.
Starting point is 01:48:01 Her name is Felicia Pearson, though. And I want to honor her because she's an actress a rapper and a published author and she is one of those people who turned her life around so felicia made her acting debut in the popular show the wire as y'all know her as y'all knew her as snoop and um this role actually was given to her because she had met michael k williams who invited her on the set. She met him at a nightclub or whatever. He took her on the set and the producers said they were impressed by
Starting point is 01:48:32 her personality and they cooked up a character for her drawing heavily from her real life experiences because who else would play that role better than somebody from Baltimore and somebody who's actually embodied a lot of the characteristics of these characters. Right. So she began selling drugs at a young age when she was 14.
Starting point is 01:48:51 She was convicted of second degree murder for the fatal shooting of another teenage girl. Now, she didn't know the girl and she didn't commit the crime, but she caught the charge for being aligned with the people who actually did. In other words, Shane, no snitchitch bitch and it is what it is uh she was released in 2000 serving a six and a half year sentence earned her ged during that time and um she earned the nickname snoop thanks to a charismatic charismatic baltimore local who thought that she was a reminiscent of snoopy the dog from peanuts she won't smack me cuz this is crazy today the actress known for stealing scenes in the wire is teaming with series co-creator Ed Burns to turn her life story into a TV show and I'm gonna watch and all that
Starting point is 01:49:36 and another thing about Snoop Snoop is my friend but Snoop really wanted me though she had a crush on you definitely much the roots picnic she jumped on stage because you was on there yes and I had a crush on you. Definitely. I remember at the Roots picnic, she jumped on stage because you was on there. Yes. And I had a crush on her, too, but I would never, like, I can't be gay. I don't know why. Like, you know, I tried it back in the days, but then it was like, oh, my God, no. They lied just like the men.
Starting point is 01:49:54 So I was like, I'm going back. Yeah, but. I'm glad that didn't work out. Yeah. I can hear y'all in the room together. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:50:02 Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:50:03 Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:50:03 Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:50:03 Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:50:03 Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. I guarantee you I don't sound like that. But that's what's crazy. That's so crazy because y'all always get on me about my accent. Y'all think I sound crazy.
Starting point is 01:50:12 Listen to how she sound. Yeah, man. Man said if you want to shoot nails, this is the Cadillac, man. He mean Lexus, but he ain't know it. Hold the charge better. Man, f*** a charge. This is gunpowder activated, 27 caliber, full auto, no kickback, nail throwing mayhem, man. S*** right here is tight. Man, f*** this nail up, boss.
Starting point is 01:50:36 We can kill a couple more f***s with this right here. You laughing. I'm a smooth dog. Try tight. For real. No, listen. What you mean, listen to how she sound? I'm from Baltimore. I don't even understand what she said. That's exactly how you sound. No, I. What you mean, listen how she sound? I'm from Baltimore.
Starting point is 01:50:47 I don't even understand what she said. That's exactly how you sound. No, I don't. That's how you sound. That's how Nye sounds. That's how London sounds. If I sounded like that, I wouldn't have this job. That's not true.
Starting point is 01:50:54 I love the Baltimore accent. No, no. I'm not. No, she is deep, deep, deep Baltimore. Like, Baltimore was first invented. Have you heard yourself? First invented. I don't care.
Starting point is 01:51:03 No, I do not talk like that. Just talk about guns. Just talk about some guns. I don't care. I do not talk like that. Let's talk about guns. Let's talk about some guns. I don't know what to say about no guns. Let's say I got a gun and it can shoot you and it'll get you.
Starting point is 01:51:09 I got guns and it'll shoot you. No, she'd be like, oh man. I got guns and I'ma shoot you. No, she just sound like a Baltimore Jim Jones to me.
