Starting point is 00:00:00 Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh my God.

Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. Starting point is 00:01:37 Hey, y'all. Niminy here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Executive produced by Questlove, The Story Pirates, and John Glickman, Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different, inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it.
Starting point is 00:02:17 And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was called a moment. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, my undeadly darlings. It's Teresa, your resident ghost host. And do I have a
Starting point is 00:02:54 treat for you. Haunting is crawling out from the shadows, and it's going to be devilishly good. We've got chills, thrills, and stories that'll make you wish the lights stayed on. So join me, won't you? Let's dive into the eerie unknown together. Sleep tight, if you can. Listen to Haunting on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Wake your ass up. The Breakfast Club is on. Wake up!
Starting point is 00:03:24 The Breakfast Club. Envy and Charlamagne, the voice of the culture. You think I'm going to come here when this shit ain't hot? See, y'all are different. Y'all are the culture. It's different. You know what I'm saying? Like, y'all know what y'all talking about. This is probably becoming the most prominent forum for hip-hop.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Being here next to all of you guys, it's really big. Put it in perspective. The Breakfast Club, bitches. Wake up. Good morning, USA. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. Charlamagne Tha God. Peace to the planet.
Starting point is 00:03:57 It's Tuesday. Yes, it's Tuesday. Good morning. What's happening? How y'all feel after a nice little three-day weekend? Yeah, three-day, a little vacay. Nah, it felt good, man. You know, got to catch up on some TV shows.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Caught up on Marvel's What If Season 2. Okay. Caught up on some Netflix stand-up specials. I think I watched Chappelle this weekend. I did. I watched Pete Davidson this weekend. I didn't see Pete. I seen Chappelle.
Starting point is 00:04:23 I also watched Chris Rock and Kevin Hart. Oh, yeah, I watched that a while ago. I didn't see Pete. I seen Chappelle. I also watched the Chris Rock and Kevin Hart. Oh, yeah, I watched that a while ago. Yeah, I seen that, too. You was in it. I sure was. Yeah, so I seen you in that one. Yeah, so I caught up on stand-up as well. Try to think what else I watched.
Starting point is 00:04:36 I watched a couple of things. Football. Oh, football this weekend, yeah. Absolutely, football. How was your weekend with football? It is what it is. It's the same weekend I've been having for the past 29 years. Don't bother me none.
Starting point is 00:04:46 You know what I'm saying? I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan, true and true. Don't bother me none. We gone, but it is what it is. I mean, I expected that. I just remember a couple of months ago. Can we play just the first part of what our guy Leonard said? You know what it is?
Starting point is 00:05:03 And we showed up and represented for America the way we should have. Okay? All right? That's what we did. We showed up for America because we are America's team. It was disgusting. Drop one of those bombs for my Dallas Cowboys. Yeah, Big D penetrating the O-line all night long.
Starting point is 00:05:22 There was nothing you could do about it. This is such a pointless. You know where my Dallas Cowboys going to be in February? The Super Bowl. Yo, yo, shut up, man. Y'all want one game. This is such...
Starting point is 00:05:31 You know why this is such a pointless playback? Why? Because I've been saying we're going to the Super Bowl every year for 29 years, and that's what you should say about your team. You almost bought tickets this year. No, I didn't. You said you was buying tickets.
Starting point is 00:05:42 I've been saying that every year for the past... Well, not the past 29 years because I ain't had that kind of money. But yes, what are you talking about? I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan. You should feel like that about your team every year. And guess what? We going to the Super Bowl next year. What the hell is you talking about? One year I'm going to say that and I'm going to be absolutely
Starting point is 00:05:57 positively right. That don't bother me. Good morning, Trav. Trav is a long time, this is huge Cowboys fan. But here's the rules. You may not know because you're not a real sports fan. That's why you root for two teams. No, I only root for one, just my Giants. If your team didn't make the playoffs, you have nothing to say.
Starting point is 00:06:11 No, I can't. Like I said. No, you can't. Yes, I can. Your team didn't even make the playoffs. Yes, I can. That's okay. No, it's not.
Starting point is 00:06:16 It's okay. You're outside the club. No, but that's the thing. You couldn't even get in. I knew my team wasn't going to make it, so I said that early. Envy, you do know if your team gets into the playoffs, there's a chance they can go to the Super Bowl. Right.
Starting point is 00:06:30 So it's not asinine for me to say the Dallas Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl. We were in the playoffs. Bro, my quarterback got injured. Then the backup quarterback got injured. Then they picked up a young man that was at home living with his mama to be the quarterback that had no idea. I knew I wasn't making it to the playoffs. I knew I wasn't making it to the Super Bowl, but your team,
Starting point is 00:06:47 you thought you were. So did a lot of other people. But y'all were all wrong. And shout out to Eddie, our producer, too. He did some of this, too. Another team, another team, Philadelphia Eagles, who people thought was going back to the Super Bowl this year. They went last year. They didn't go this year. Horrible. But guess what? You can't say nothing. I can say what I want to say.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Yes, I can. The New York Giants didn't even make the playoffs. Get it off your chest this morning. I want every cowboy hater to start calling right now. I mean, there's a lot of them. That's right. Get on them lines right now. You want to talk to Charlemagne? You have zero confidence in your voice because your Giants didn't even make the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:07:20 That's right. You don't even sound believable. You guys are visiting us on vacation. Bahamas, Bermuda, where y'all at? You don't even sound believable. You guys are visiting us on vacation. You don't even sound believable. Bahamas, Bermuda, where y'all at? You don't even sound believable. But you can call Charlamagne right now. You can have a conversation with him right now. And when we come back, we got Tezlyn Figueroa. She has front page news.
Starting point is 00:07:33 We're going to talk to Tez this way. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club on this Tuesday. And let's get in some front page news. All right, let's start off with some NFL.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Now, of course, the wild card was over the weekend, and the Texans beat the Browns 45-14. The Chiefs beat the Dolphins 26-7. The Lions beat the Rams 24-23. The Buccaneers destroyed the Eagles last night 32-9. The Bills beat the Steelers 31-17. And the Packers washed the cowboys 48 to 32 we didn't have a team we lost a team we lost the backup team sucked this year y'all team sucked the year before that that's what are you talking about that's fine it beats like that
Starting point is 00:08:15 sometimes we're not used to it though but anyway good morning tess good morning dj good morning charlotte vayne the guy you said iowa. Let's talk about it. Yeah, this is the political playoffs for me. There's no more Internet talk. The results are in. Let's take a listen and we'll go over some more information on the other side. As expected, Donald Trump easily won the Iowa Republican caucuses last night. The NBC News decision desk projected him as the winner just 35 minutes after caucusing began. Trump ended up with 51% of the vote, winning 98 of the state's 99 counties, despite visiting
Starting point is 00:08:56 only 15 of them. This year's Republican caucuses had the lowest turnout since the year 2000, drawing around 108,000 voters. That's just about 14% of the state's registered Republicans. No surprise there. Yeah, no surprise. And again, Trump won 51%, Ron DeSantis 21%, Nikki Haley 19%, and Vivek Ramasamy 7%. I want you to take a quick listen to Ron DeSantis' response.
Starting point is 00:09:26 They threw everything but the kitchen sink at us. They spent almost $50 million attacking us. No one's faced that much all the way just through Iowa. The media was against us. They were writing our obituary months ago. They even called the election before people even got a chance to vote. But they were just so excited.
Starting point is 00:09:59 What'd you say, Tav? Okay, now Nikki Haley came in third, but she told her supporters that it was a two-person race, so people were a little bit confused by that. So take a listen. The pundits will analyze the results from every angle. We get that. But when you look at how we're doing in New Hampshire, in South Carolina, and beyond, I can safely say
Starting point is 00:10:26 tonight Iowa made this Republican primary a two person race now Trump talked about unifying the country but I get what Nikki was saying the way she's polling in New Hampshire
Starting point is 00:10:42 and the places to come it'll be a two person race like you know i get it right but as of yesterday i guess she was in third but you know you know just depends on i guess how you look at it but trump talked about uniting the country uh but he also talked about the biden presidency as expected take a listen to that so i don't want to be overly uh rough on the president but I have to say that he is the worst president that we've had in the history of our country. He's destroying our country.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Hey man, they called Iowa in 30 minutes. If you think people aren't energized to go out there and vote for Trump, you bugging. And I don't understand the democratic strategy of, you know, people aren't paying attention yet. When they start paying attention, they will start to hear Trump's rhetoric. They will start to realize that Trump is a criminal. That makes zero sense to me because everyone has been listening to Trump since 2016. They know who he is. They like it. They've accepted it. And he barely even has the campaign to do it.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Absolutely. And Vivek Ramasamy, he only gained 7% of the vote and he has officially dropped out of the race. Let's take a listen to that. Vivek Ramaswamy dropping out of the presidential race after a disappointing fourth place finish in Iowa. Ramaswamy had funded so much of his campaign from his massive personal fortune. As of this moment moment we are going to suspend this presidential campaign and this is going to have to be there's no path for me to be the next president absent things that we don't want to see happen in this country that money not non-refundable is it no you can't get that back no okay can't write it off when you're talking i can't can't get it back so now the santas is skipping new hampshire and going going straight to South Carolina, correct?
Starting point is 00:12:27 Correct. He'll obviously, you know, have people have an opportunity to vote for him. But, yeah, he's putting his money elsewhere where Nikki Haley believes she can do quite well in New Hampshire and obviously, you know, South Carolina where she's from. So we'll just have to see if they're able to get through both of those states um and make it to super tuesday uh but to charlamagne's point i'm i'm certainly i want to know you know is the biden administration because we can pretty much say this is you know trump is definitely you know obviously probably going to be the nominee anything can change we know anything can change but will they go ahead and start aggressively campaigning today that's my question charlamagne are they going to start aggressively campaigning or what are they
Starting point is 00:13:05 are they still saying don't listen to the polls democrats they don't do anything aggressively that's why i call them cowards they don't do anything aggressively they might start campaigning they might have already started campaigning we may not have noticed but they're definitely not gonna do it aggressively that that i know all right well that is front page news now what are we talking about next hour yeah we got some winter storms want to let everybody know there's some delays going on and then there's a really strange story about next hour? Yeah, we got some winter storms. Want to let everybody know there's some delays going on. And then there's a really strange story about an online religious cult. So we're going to talk about that story and some missing folks.
Starting point is 00:13:31 That's apparently following this cult. All right. All right. We have that next hour. Now, everybody else, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, phone lines are wide open. Maybe your favorite football team lost over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Maybe you had a great weekend. Maybe you was just chilling. Whatever it may be, get it off your chest. Call us up right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. It's a new day.
Starting point is 00:13:58 This is your time to get it off your chest. Wake up. Whether you're mad or blessed. It's time to get up and get something. Call up now. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:14:12 It's Quint. Quint, what up? Get it off your chest. Man, I knew the cat bars were trash, man. Hello, who's this? It's Quint. Quint, what up? Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Man, I knew the Cowboys were trash, man. I told everybody they wouldn't make it past the first round of the playoffs. Who's your team, sir? My team, the Falcons, but I knew they wasn't going to make it anyway. But you got to hush. You got to hush. If you're teamed, then you're going to make it. We got to hush. We got to hush. If your team didn't even make it. We got to hush. We got to hush together. We both sitting at home now watching you.
Starting point is 00:14:49 No, no, yes. As of right now, as of right now, I have to hush about any team that's still in. You can't even comment because your team didn't even make the playoffs. You need to be humble, sir. Well, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry to get into an argument with you, man. But I want to hear y'all guys.
Starting point is 00:15:04 We got to argue it. I enjoy y'all guys. Have a not arguing. I enjoy y'all guys. Have a good one, Chris. I enjoy y'all guys. But, hey, let me get a book from you, Charlemagne. I got you, brother. I'm going to send you a pack. Get his address, Eddie.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Gary from Houston. Hey, Gary from Houston. Get it off your chest. Hey, I want to let Charlemagne. I know he hurt on the inside. I'm really not. The Cowboys have one of the top offenses,
Starting point is 00:15:27 one of the top defenses. There was a favorite, and this reminded me of the Earl Spencer Crawford fight. Told him their militia job, didn't nobody expect. That's not true. That's all it is. Did nobody expect this bug with him, bro.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Nobody. Terrence Crawford was not an underdog like the Packers. Cut it out now. Thank you, Gary. Stop. Hello, who's this? Yo, this is VA. What's good, Breakfast Club? VA, what's up?
Starting point is 00:15:53 Get it off your chest, brother. Hey, I just want to holler at Charlemagne, man. Let him know my story, man, about these Dallas Cowboys, man, because it's hilarious, man. What up, brother? Charlemagne. Peace, King. What's the story?
Starting point is 00:16:04 It's all good so the story is you know as somebody forced me to like the cowboys when i was younger you know what i'm saying so i had to figure out after they kept losing why do i even like this team so as i came a grown man you know i had to switch my team so i I'm rocking with the Baltimore Ravens right now. Shout out to Lamar Jackson. You know what I'm saying? How old are you? That's something.
Starting point is 00:16:29 How old am I? I'm 38. Oh, so you were alive when we was winning in the 90s? Yeah, Jay Novacek, Troy Aikman, all that. Absolutely. Somebody made me like the team. You know what I'm saying? And I had to figure out every... I ain't gonna lie.
Starting point is 00:16:46 When the Green Bay game, when Dez Bryant, they cheated him on that. It hurt me bad, bro. Yeah, it hurt me bad, bro. I ain't gonna lie. Well, you should be used to it. I'm a lifelong Dallas Cowboy fan. I'm gonna be a lifetime Dallas Cowboy fan. We should be
Starting point is 00:17:01 used to this by now. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired?
Starting point is 00:17:15 Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy.
Starting point is 00:17:25 There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I create my own country? My forefathers did that themselves.
Starting point is 00:17:43 What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. Well, why can't I trade my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help!

Starting point is 00:23:04 Charlemagne. Talk. You can talk. Okay. Look, I just called. I don't know if you remember. I called after Jerry Jones won for y'all. And I called. I said, I'm going to call you back.
Starting point is 00:23:15 And all I want is an apology. That's it. No rhetoric. I'll let you live this time. Yeah, because he went at you kind of hard a week ago, right? He went real hard. What am I apologizing for? The referee's helping us win? I take that real hard. What am I apologizing for? The referees helping us win?
Starting point is 00:23:25 I take that, too. I'm not apologizing for nothing. But congratulations. Come on, Charlemagne. I don't even know what I'm apologizing for, so I'm not apologizing. But congratulations to the Detroit Lions. Don't do that.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Okay, I take that, too. I appreciate it. Hey, y'all be easy. Go Lions. And damn, Charlemagne. Damn it, man. Congratulations, sir. If your team is still in the playoffs, if your team won this weekend, you can talk.
Starting point is 00:23:49 Hello, who's this? This is Rob. Rob, what up? Get it off your chest. Yo, the Cowboys is horrible. The new logo should be a port-a-potty. Damn. They trash.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Dak needs to be fired, locked up, something. I don't want to see no Cowboys apparel. Who's your team? Who's your team? I'm a Cowboys fan. Oh, okay. Well, no, Dak don't need to be fired. I'm a diehard Cowboys fan, Charlotte, man.
Starting point is 00:24:12 Come on now. I'm 40 years old. We got to stop seeing this, man. Listen. Terry Jones giving us too much lip service. Mike McCarthy needs to be fired. They need to bring in Bill Belichick. He could have been fired before the halftime.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Dan Quinn needs to be fired, our defensive coordinator. in Bill Belichick. He's gonna be fired before the halftime. Dan Quinn needs to be fired our defensive coordinator. I think Dak will be okay under a new coach. For a trade, TD Lamb look like Diddy put the rod down his back.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Man, shut up, man. Yo, it's horrible. Goodbye, sir. Hello, who's this? Yo, what's up, fella? Hey, what up, what up? Get it off your chest. Yo, yo, this your boy

How are you? Get it off your chest. Man, I'm mad about my boys. The kids got spanked last night. Yes, y'all did.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Yeah, I was kept disappointed about the Cowboys, too, man, because I thought this was y'all year, man, the way y'all was looking. Well, it happens. Sorry. Sure was it. That's somebody whose team didn't make the playoffs talking. That's. Well, it happens. Sorry. Sure was it. That's somebody whose team didn't make the playoffs talking. That's why you couldn't even hear him. That's right. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't like
Starting point is 00:25:11 his team beat the Eagles too, man. They beat us before the playoffs and had us in a slump. I couldn't believe the Giants beat us. Well, you're home with the Giants right now. Bahamas, Bahamas, Cancun, sir. Lovey!
Starting point is 00:25:28 Good morning. It's your boy Lovey from the Bronx, man. I'm kind of depressed, man. I'm going to hold you, B. What's up, Lovey? Talk to us. I don't know. Charlamagne, being a Cowboys fan, you know,
Starting point is 00:25:38 this is like being in an abusive relationship, man. Not really. It's just that, you know, we're having a down period, and the down period has been for almost 30 years. But one day, one day, one day, lovey, we're going to get our just doing. It's going to be so sweet. You just wait. Yes.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Chalamet, can I ask you this? Yes, sir. Is your wife a Cowboy fan, or does she ride with you? She's not really into football like that. I mean, she'll root for the Cowboys because she knows I'm rooting for them you? She's not really into football like that. I mean, she'll root for the Cowboys because she knows I'm rooting for them, but she's not really into football like that. What about you, Envy? Is the missus, is she a big Giants fan like you? Same thing with me. When I go to the game, she comes to the Giants game. She roots because, you know, we watch it together, but not really. Okay, because you know, Taz, my wifey, she's a
Starting point is 00:26:21 big San Francisco fan. And wifey gave me a shout-out this weekend. So shout-out to wife. She sent an Instagram blast about me holding her down. I just want to let you know I'm holding my Cowboys down like I hold my Breakfast Club family down. Well, we need to go get Bill Belichick. I heard Bill Belichick already did an interview with the Falcons. So the Cowboys need to intervene, okay? And start picking a play for Bill Belichick now.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, you? Start picking a play for Bill Belichick now. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, you can hit us up. Now, when we come back, last night, the Emmy Awards happened. You knew the Emmys was on last night? I did. Oh, well, the Emmys were on last night. We'll tell you about some of the winners when we come back, so don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:26:59 The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk the Emmy Awards. Rumor has it. Rumor has it.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Call out a name or you gossiping or you chatty patty. I'm gossiping. This is The Rumor Report. I mean, I guess we on The Breakfast Club. This is where the tea spills, right? Right. Now, the Emmy Awards was last night. It was actually postponed due to the actors and writers strike
Starting point is 00:27:25 It was supposed to take place in September Now Anthony Anderson was hosting the awards show And here is his monologue I'd like to ask you all to keep those speeches tight Normally on awards shows we do what's called playoff music Which everyone tends to ignore This year I've got something that nobody can ignore. My mama.
Starting point is 00:27:50 Now tonight, my mama, tonight my mama, she is going to be the Emmys Playoff mama. When you see my mama coming, just thank Jesus and your family and wrap it up. And I don't want nobody to get disrespectful with my mama because my mama is from the west side of Chicago and she can throw them hands. Shut up. That's enough. Mama.
Starting point is 00:28:14 I want to go to the after party. Hurry up. Okay, Mama. Alright, you're supposed to be yelling at the other people. Not at me. Not in the middle of the monologue. Time's up, baby. Cut to the chase.
Starting point is 00:28:28 I love a person who respects their job. You know what I mean? That's right. No nepotism there. Okay. You gotta wrap you up too, Anthony. That's right. Now, one thing that I thought was dope, which I seen trending last night, was the cast of Martin came out to give an award and they talked about how they never got an Emmy after all the success
Starting point is 00:28:43 that they had. This is a real moment. Yeah special moment you better believe it baby we finally about to get it yeah we getting our Emmy tonight as a matter of fact I got my speech on deck too no no no Carl Carl Carl we're not winning an Emmy tonight. Please, sit your butt down. Please. Carl, we're presenting an award, not being presented with one, knucklehead. I'm leaving here with something. Okay. No, wait, wait, wait. Carl isn't all the way wrong, you guys. I mean, we should have won an Emmy during our run.
Starting point is 00:29:17 True. Right, boy? That would be right. That would be right. But we were never even nominated, despite our 132 episodes. What? Our huge ratings and being incindicated so much that it's a little hard for me to see the 90s, spankless version of myself every night. You know what I'm saying, right, Tashina?
Starting point is 00:29:37 No, I still look good. Oh, that's because nobody values black content. And back then, you know, networks, you know, like Fox and UPN and CW, they would use black content to draw in numbers and build their networks and create these big valuations for their networks. You know, and black content is rarely recognized critically. So it's always hindsight. Right. You look back and you look at a show like Martin and realize how good it was. And that's when you get honorary Oscars like they gave gave angela passett doesn't that honorary emmys whatever the hell it is that's right well we got a slew quinta brunson who won outstanding lead actress in a comedy series abbott in elementary she was the first black comedy lead actress to win in 42 years what i'm saying it's an acceptance speech um thank you so much just i don't even know i'm so emotional i think like the carol burnett of it all um thank you so much um i love making
Starting point is 00:30:32 abbott elementary so much and i am so happy to be able to live my dream and act out comedy and um i say it every time but i just love comedy so much so much that I am so happy to be able to get this. I don't even prepare anything because I just didn't think I love my mom, my dad, my sisters, my brothers, my entire family so much. I love my husband. I'm so happy. I love my cast. I love Abbott Elementary. Thank you so much. Now, Quentin is getting recognized my cast. I love Abbott Elementary. Thank you so much. Now, Quinta is getting recognized because you can't deny Abbott Elementary. Hilarious show, and it's on ABC. I wonder if
Starting point is 00:31:11 Martin was on one of the big threes back in the day. Would it have gotten recognized more if it was on NBC, ABC, CBS, one of those? I wonder. I'm sure. I never looked it up, but I wonder how many Emmys the Cosby show was nominated for. A different world. I'm sure. I mean, I never looked it up, but I wonder how many Emmys the Cosby show was nominated for.
Starting point is 00:31:25 A different world. Our family matters. I don't know. Well, also, we got a salute to RuPaul's Drag Race. He won Outstanding Reality Competition
Starting point is 00:31:36 Program. Trevor Noah, the Daily Show. You said he now. Was that the proper pronoun? RuPaul won Outstanding Reality Competition Program. So I just don't want to get you in no trouble. That's why I said RuPaul won. He's already on Twitter right now. you said he now was that the proper oh pronoun rupaul won outstanding reality competition
Starting point is 00:31:45 program don't want to get you in no trouble that's why i said rupaul won they're already on twitter right now he said hey rupaul won he called rupaul a he outstanding reality competition program uh the daily show with trevor noah trevor won outstanding variety talk series and elton john and hold on trevor is the first black man to win Outstanding Talk Series in the Emmys in the 75 year history of the Emmys. That's right. Yes.
Starting point is 00:32:09 And Elton John received the EGOT. He got his EGOT because he won for Outstanding Variety Special. He actually won over Rihanna and Chris Rock.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Of course, Rihanna was the halftime show and Chris Rock did Selective Outrage. What did Elton John do now? I know it's Elton John but I don't remember. What did you do?
Starting point is 00:32:24 He did the Farewell from from dodger stadium performance he performed that live so now he's an egot winner never even heard of it me neither and lastly congratulations to nisi nash she won outstanding supporter actress in a limited series that was for her role in dama the monster you got her speech i'm, baby. Thank you to the most high for this divine moment. Thank you, Ryan Murphy, for seeing me. Evan Peters, I love you. Netflix, every single person who voted for me. Thank you, my better half, who picked me up when I was gutted from this work. Thank you. And you know who I want to thank? I want to thank me for believing in me and doing what they said I could not do. And I want to say to myself in front of all you beautiful people, go on girl with your bad self.
Starting point is 00:33:12 You did that. Finally, I accept this award on behalf of every black and brown woman who has gone unheard yet over policed. Like Glenda Cleveland, like Sandrainda cleveland like sandra bland like brianna taylor as an artist my job is to speak truth to power and baby i'ma do it to the day i die there you go drop on the clues bonds for dc national absolutely i wonder why more people don't do that first person i think i ever saw thank themselves was snoop dogg i forgot what it was but i remember him thanking himself at an award show. And I was like, why don't more people thank themselves?
Starting point is 00:33:46 Because you got to believe in you. That's right. You got to put in the work. Absolutely. Definitely. All praise is due to God and everybody that helps you get to a certain position.
Starting point is 00:33:53 But you know, if you don't believe in you, 95% of what you've accomplished is not going to happen. That's right. Well, that was the 75th Emmy Awards recap. And also,
Starting point is 00:34:02 we got to send a rest in peace. Very sad news. Yo Gotti's brother, Big Juke, was shot and killed in Memphis on Saturday. A deadly shooting in Hickory Hill with connections to Memphis rapper Yo Gotti. Fox 13's Lakia Scott joins us live tonight from St. Francis Hospital. That's where the victims were taken. Lakia, what were you able to find out? Good evening to you.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Good evening, Daniel. Well, at least five police sources have confirmed with Fox 13 that the person killed is Anthony Mims, also known as Big Jook. Now, Big Jook is the brother of rapper Yo Gotti. Now, we were at that scene earlier tonight. Police say two men were shot outside Perrion's Restaurant and Event Center around 4.15. Now, that's on Winchester near Kirby. According to the Memphis Police Department, the victim was inside a vehicle at the time and was brought here to St. Francis Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Starting point is 00:34:58 Yeah, very sad. So, again, rest in peace and condolences to all the family members, anybody involved, and always sending healing energy. Absolutely. All right. Well, that is your rumor report. Now, when we come back, we got front page news. We'll fill you in what's going on.
Starting point is 00:35:13 It's a nasty storm. The weather's horrible out there. We'll give you some updates. Don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlemagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Now, let's start off with some quick NFL. The Texans beat the Browns 45-14. The Chiefs beat the Dolphins 26-7. The Lions beat the Rams 24-23.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Buccaneers beat the Eagles 32-9. The Bills beat the Steelers 31-17. And the Packers beat the Cowboys 48-32. Jalame? I mean, there's nothing to say. We lost. Okay. That's all I wanted to hear.
Starting point is 00:35:52 We lost. But you got to shut up. Nope. The Giants did not make the playoffs. Those are the rules. If your team did not even make the playoffs, you cannot talk. Nope. The only people that can talk right now is people whose teams made the playoffs and won this weekend.
Starting point is 00:36:04 If you're from Detroit, you can run your mouth all day long. If you're a Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan, run your mouth all day long. If you're a Packer fan, run your mouth all day long. But if you're a Giants fan, shut up. No. Well, Tez, let's talk about the weather now, Tez. It's the Cowboys. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Shut up. Shut up to Detroit. But speaking of the weather, 125 million people were under windchill advisories or warnings. Listen to NBC News for the report. Tonight, an Arctic blast still marching across the country, fueling storms that are believed to be responsible for at least 10 deaths nationwide. Almost 80 percent of the U.S. below freezing, making it treacherous for many to be outside. Vehicles stranded and flipped over. Hundreds of flights canceled.
Starting point is 00:36:54 90 million people are under windchill alerts, with some areas feeling like 50 degrees below zero. The bitter freeze stretching across much of Texas, where tonight officials are asking residents to conserve electricity if it's safe amid record-breaking demand. Man, Mother Nature is sick of us, okay? She's so tired of us. She's so tired of us, we can't even predict her anymore. When they tell us it's going to be really bad, usually it's not. When they don't say much about it, like last night, it's bad. Yesterday was bad. I didn't even realize how bad it was so i got up this morning driving yeah it was nasty driving work this morning the temperatures are freezing
Starting point is 00:37:31 on the east coast so it's it's the snow and the rain is sticking it's very icy outside so they're telling everybody give yourself a little extra time check your flights a lot of flights have been canceled but as charlamagne said it's bad out there it's nasty yeah actually 2 000 plus flights uh as you mentioned dj and we have been canceled and then remember the grounding of the boeing 737 max 9 from the alaska airlines incident that is also disrupted travel putting those down and in addition to the weather and michigan speaking of detroit in michigan 140 000 people went without power this weekend and uh you know you're used to seeing the snow on the east coast like you mentioned but it was snow all over the south arkansas got about eight
Starting point is 00:38:08 inches tennessee got seven inches so cover your pipes um be safe stay off the road check in on your loved ones all right all right what else you got uh police of missouri are searching for four missing children four missing adults i'm sorry and two children believed to be linked to an alleged online cult. Let's take a listen. Cartesia Morgan is pleading for someone to come forward with information about her daughter, Michaela Wickerson. Berkeley police say Wickerson is one of six people who were influenced by a cult leader and disappeared from North St. Louis County in August of 2023. Morgan says her daughter stopped working, stopped all communication, and abruptly moved out to this home on Graham Lane.
Starting point is 00:38:49 She believes her daughter is dealing with a severe mental illness. She was probably suffering from postpartum depression. These people are lying, and they just preyed on her weakness. Among those missing are Wickerson, her 3-year-old daughter Malaya, and four others, Jeriel German and her son Ashton Mitchell, and adults Namin Williams and Michaela Thompson. Berkeley police believe they are following the teachings of a man named Rashad Jamal. Among other things, they say he taught totally disconnecting from family, practicing polygamy, and meditating nude.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Damn. Now again, this guy that they're talking about, allegedly that he's following, he's actually incarcerated. He calls himself a prophet and a revolutionary. He's currently serving time in Georgia after being found guilty of one count of child molestation and cruelty to children, according to the report. So he was given an 18-year sentence in August, and now he's doing his teachings over a phone in prison um so the mother is just asking she wants to know if her daughter and her granddaughter is okay and if anyone has
Starting point is 00:39:51 any information to speak up i saw the story trending on social media and instagram and twitter and people are just trying to find out to make sure uh you know that she's okay and it just kind of goes to the point again um you know with online and how dangerous it can be you know even for adults you know especially those who are getting preyed upon with mental illness that online can definitely you know it's something that can be very dangerous yeah i mean folks prey on people's need to believe everybody has this need to believe in something or somebody so they prey on people's need to believe to create these uh cult-like followings i always wonder about cult leaders nowadays because it seems like there should be a lot more than because of the internet because i'm sure the internet makes their their
Starting point is 00:40:28 job i don't want to say their job but the internet makes what they do that much easier to do i'm sure there's a lot but you probably just don't hear about them until you have situations like this you know i mean that's part of the cult right you don't tell anybody you're not allowed to speak you're not allowed to use social media so that's part of the reason probably why you haven't heard more about them some of people say some would say that argued at political that politics is turning into cult-like you know environments oh donald trump definitely got a cold i mean all i mean but you know it's crazy that you say that donald trump has a cold but all if you're if you're uh you know attached to a party you know no matter what like no matter what they do
Starting point is 00:41:04 no matter what they do no matter what they say you don't even look to hear what the other side is talking about like you don't take in nobody else's rhetoric that whole uh uh any what they say vote don't matter who vote blue or whatever i can't remember the phrase but vote blue no matter who yeah if you if you say you're the head of a hive for a politician you're just a cult you're in a cult yeah you give an opinion and you trolling all day and i mean like i said this is this is there is given cult charlamagne it really is and again that goes back into people's need to believe so if a politician is able to make you believe you know that they are the the second coming of christ uh this is what we're
Starting point is 00:41:41 seeing particular people that who have mental illness that's just naming it and you know calling what it is so uh unfortunately you know that's what's happening with this and hopefully you know they'll find these find these folks and and know that they're okay absolutely and politics politics shouldn't be cold like politics should be business bottom line point blame period what's what's the best person to vote for for your business for your interest your interest for your benefits exactly all Well, that is front page news. Thank you, Tiz. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:42:07 And make sure you subscribe to Teslin Figaro's podcast, The Scrape Shot, No Chaser Podcast on the Black Effect iHeartRadio Podcast Network and follow at Teslin Figaro on all social media platforms. All right. Well, let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051. Now, I seen this on social media yesterday.
Starting point is 00:42:23 Renee Ellis, I believe that's her name. She said, yo, y'all tell me why my 10-year-old daughter stole my credit card and racked up eight stacks at Sephora. What can I do? Sue Sephora, help me, y'all. Let's discuss. 800-585-4051. Because, well, you need to be thinking about how to discipline your child. In the 90s, that was a death sentence.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Yeah. You know, I always tell my younger daughter that I always say, you wouldn't have survived in the 90s. Because the 90s was all about physical violence. It was about physical discipline. I was born in 1978. So the 80s and 90s, all about physical violence and discipline. Man, if you would have ran up $10,000 on your mama's credit card in the 90s with our poor asses, I don't even think my mama had a credit card with a limit that much. But if I would have ran it up that much, I wouldn't be here today.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Let's discuss. I wouldn't be here today. 800-585-1051. How do you discipline your 10-year-old if that happens to you? 800-585-1051. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
Starting point is 00:43:41 I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I trade my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my

Starting point is 00:49:16 Now, if you're just joining us, I was telling you about what we've seen online. Now, this young lady named Renee, she said, y'all tell me why my 10-year-old daughter stole my credit card and racked up
Starting point is 00:49:25 eight stacks at Sephora. What can I do? Sue Sephora, help me, y'all. Why she say Sue Sephora? The first person you need to be thinking about is how you're going to discipline your 10-year-old child, okay? What does Sephora got to do with your child
Starting point is 00:49:41 making the poor choice to run up that $10,000 on your credit card? I guess she said that because maybe, you know, don't you have to run up that $10,000 on your credit card? I guess she said that because maybe, you know, don't you have to get certain, I guess, go through certain processes to use a credit card,
Starting point is 00:49:52 but not over the phone. But first thing I would do, I would return everything this far. Was it over the phone or online, though? Yeah, well, yeah. It probably was just online. If it was online, there's no way of doing it yet.
Starting point is 00:49:59 Yeah, she probably just ordered a bunch of stuff and then charged the card. Like, that's probably what happened. Well, the first thing you do is return it all. I would have to return that all. But imagine if you get home and your daughter opened it all up and you can't return it.
Starting point is 00:50:09 That's probably what happened. Listen, it's very hard to discipline your kids nowadays because we all grew up off getting beat. If you was born in the 1900s like I was, 1978, you done got beat with extension cords. You had to go pick your own switch. You got belts. You got backhanded in the mouth. It was all types of physical discipline that was administered to you nowadays uh i don't i don't i don't beat my kids you know i'm saying i've never beaten my kids i think i beat my i spanked my oldest daughter like
Starting point is 00:50:33 twice in her life you know what i mean because i didn't know any better like if you grew up off getting beat you know you tend to to mimic that behavior or you tend to do what i'm doing which is i refuse to beat my kids, but I'm not a gentle parent either. So how do you discipline your child when they run up $10,000 on a credit bill, credit card? Well, first, I think it starts of young,
Starting point is 00:50:55 your kids learning a little responsibility. I don't think my kids would do that because they would know it would be a problem. But second of all, I mean, what can you do? Like you said, at this point, you cannot beat your child. And if you do beat your children, when they go to school, you're going to get in trouble.
Starting point is 00:51:07 So, I mean, I guess I'm thinking about if that happened, what would happen? Hmm. I mean, you got to pull away everything that they like and enjoy, right? Their phones, their televisions, their iPads. You got to pull all that away, right? You got to. You got to take away their tablets, their ipads no video games no youtube no tv you got to do all of that but then what but see then if they're in a sport or a cheer or dance
Starting point is 00:51:31 you gotta pull you gotta pull that away even though that hurts you because i love seeing my kids do that but you gotta pull that back no that's done you gotta take that away that's done that's done and the reason you got to treat it like that because especially if they do like like my daughter does cheer but she don't do it for a school it's competitive cheerleaders part of a gym yep what I try to explain to her is if you were in school and these things happen to school would discipline you by taking you off the team but the other grades below the school would take you off if you got into some situation like this where you you know got in trouble
Starting point is 00:52:02 you foot foot running up something on a credit card that would be at some type of disciplinary action is what i'm saying the school would intervene that's true but the sad thing about it is when you're on a competitive team is is your daughter matters they create chairs around your daughter like if he plays a sport so you know i mean it it hurts the team so but that's how you teach her discipline you got to let her know that her choices directly impact what happens in her life so if you make poor choices then this is what's going to happen that's a great lesson to learn early and they actually give them more responsibility and then see what we also i always like to do is i would make them you know read a book i would make them well that shouldn't
Starting point is 00:52:38 be a punishment it is what it is you make them read numerous things and then you make them do some type of of writing on it. You know what I mean? Yeah, reading and writing shouldn't be a punishment. Nah, it is. They should enjoy reading and writing. My kids love to read. They're writing reports on everything they read? They may not be writing reports, but they love to read.
Starting point is 00:52:55 Yeah, my kids too, but I'm going to make them write a report. That's because they watch me and their mom read all the time. So reading is a pastime for them. But I'm going to make them write a report because reports ain't fun. And you can't chat GBT it. Let's go to the phone lines. Hello, who's this? Hey, good morning, my brother. Hey, good morning, Shalom
Starting point is 00:53:09 Man. Good morning, Burford Club. Hey, this is Tappers, man. And referring to what you're talking about, hey, I'm with Shalom Man, bro. I was born in the 80s, and I'm Dominican. So, you know, over there, they used to whip our asses. Oh, my bad, my bad. They used to whip our butt. You know what I'm saying? So, I got, I was telling the guy, whoop my ass. Oh, my bad, my bad. They used to whoop my butt.
Starting point is 00:53:25 You know what I'm saying? So, I was telling the guy, I got a 15-year-old and I got an 8-year-old. And my 15-year-old, I'm 6'3". He's 6'4". And that kid know not to touch me. You know what I'm saying? So, what are you going to do in that situation? So, what are you saying, sir?
Starting point is 00:53:40 What are you going to do in that situation? I don't have to do anything because guess what? My kid will not put me in that situation. I will kill him. Oh. Straight up. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:53:49 Well, maybe the threat of violence works. You know what I'm saying? I don't know. We got Will on the line. Will, good morning. Good morning. Good morning. How y'all doing?
Starting point is 00:53:58 What's up, Will? So let's say your daughter stole your credit card or your son stole your credit card and swiped $8,000. What you doing? Oh, man. I still believe in you know hard parenting if that were to happen to me honestly i will whoop their butt and i will whoop their butt but they will remember that man because a stacks come on first thing first how you got my credit card yes that's right you know like that you shouldn't be going through another person's wallet i learned that at a young age you don't touch another man or another woman's wallet
Starting point is 00:54:31 whatsoever even if it's your kids you can't do that that is disrespectful so the fact that my kid will do that i will whoop their back and they will remember that to the end of their life man because that is unbelievable you know it could have been they didn't have to steal a credit card they could have had your credit card in the apple pay because maybe they bought roblox or or maybe they you know you use it just in case just in case something happened and they just started hitting hitting the side button and all of a sudden 8000 but that's the thing a lot of parents they like to buy their 10-year-old, 7-year-old smartphones. Buy them a flip phone.
Starting point is 00:55:07 Buy them a Bama phone. Why are you buying a kid that's not even in high school a smartphone? You know, I didn't get my first iPhone until I hit, like, high school, man. I was, like, probably, like, 16 when I got my first iPhone. Bro, how old are you? Before that, it was 10. Right now, I'm 24. Okay. And I got three kids.
Starting point is 00:55:25 My oldest one is four years old. And every day when I get home from work, she's like, oh, you was working today, Dad? I was like, yeah. You make money to buy games on my tablet? I'm like, listen, baby, we can't buy games on your tablet. The money I make is to pay these bills. You see this house? You see those shoes?
Starting point is 00:55:40 You see those clothes that you got on? All that food? That's the money that I make to do all that, not to buy games. Now, my kids, they got a fire tablet, the Amazon fire tablet. It doesn't allow them to buy anything. That is just computer. That's what it sounds like. That's exactly what it sounds like.
Starting point is 00:55:55 I didn't know y'all were still putting foot to ass to your kids like that. That's what it sounds like. 800-585-1051. Your daughter or son, take your credit card, spend $8,000 on your credit card. How are you disciplining your child? Let's discuss. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:56:09 Call, call, call, call. Tell her. Tell her. Maybe. Just for some conversation. If y'all talking about it, you know we talking about it. It's topic time. Call 800-585-1051 to join into the discussion with The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:56:25 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're asking if your child takes your credit card and spends $8,000, how are you going to discipline your child? Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Robert calling out of Charleston, South Carolina. 843, what's happening?
Starting point is 00:56:42 Hey, what's going on, man? I just want to call on that topic. I'm a big fan of your show, but if I have to make a payment on every time that you did that, oh, you're getting a butt whooping. Every time I play Pay Now, butt whooping.
Starting point is 00:56:55 Damn. Okay. So listen, I'm the only parent that don't be being naked. I don't be my kids. Yeah, what the hell? I don't be my kids. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:57:03 This is Dominique. Hey, Dominique, good morning. Good morning. Now, if your child to help. Hello, who's this? This is Dominique. Hey, Dominique. Good morning. Good morning. Now, if your child takes your credit card, spends eight stacks, what you doing? How you discipline him? Okay. My son did that to me, but he spent, it was only $20, and I had flips.
Starting point is 00:57:19 So, that way, I'll be like, well, you don't spend the money that I get to take care of you. So, I'm taking everything out of the room. I'm putting an air mattress in there. This is what happens when you spend all your money. So you're going to have an air mattress, everything's coming out the room until you learn your lesson. That's the only way to do it.
Starting point is 00:57:37 So you're going to let them feel how it feels to be broke? Yeah. You broke right now. Okay, I get it. You know, it's life-saving. it yeah i think with the kids sometimes i think it's it's the feeling and making a movie of it i know i had a problem with logan when logan was younger and i put i took his ps4 outside and i ran over it with the truck but it was just it wasn't it
Starting point is 00:57:59 was it was just the feeling that he could actually see it and know that we're not playing. So they got to learn for themselves. Because it's like disciplining them. Like at this point, disciplining them, sometimes they just be like, okay, and they be right back doing it. You got to show them something for real. So that's why I said take everything out of their room. Now you broke. And however long you want to take it, a couple of months,
Starting point is 00:58:20 however long you want to take it as a parent, then that's going to be, I'm telling you, they're going to learn their lesson. They're going to understand then. But Dominique, I need help, man. I got a two-year-old that she don't be listening to me. I ain't going to front. This two-year-old, this is my last child. The first five,
Starting point is 00:58:35 all good. This last one, she be laughing at me. I got six. My oldest two is 18 and my youngest is eight. This last one, boy, she on my ass, man. She don't listen. She do what she want to do. If you yell at her, she laugh at you.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Lil Pepe, Pepe running the family. I just want to let y'all know. Hello, who's this? Miss Kitty. Hey, Miss Kitty. Good morning. Hey, how are you? I'm doing well.
Starting point is 00:59:01 Now, your child steals your credit card and spends eight stacks. How are you disciplining your child? Well, we actually had a situation similar. My nine-year-old son stole my grandmother's credit card and he spent $300 on Robux. $350?
Starting point is 00:59:20 Robux, yeah. Robux is, them kids love Robux. They be buying skins and all types of stuff that I be like, how the hell, why does it even matter in a fake world? But go ahead. Now, how did y'all discipline your child for that? We pretty much made him feel bad about it, talked to him about it. We called the bank, and the bank actually issues the money back. But we did, you know know Teach him life lessons
Starting point is 00:59:45 Like you can't be doing it I actually was gonna call The YDC And enter him In a program Beyond Scared Straight Cause I'm like Y'all don't mess with people grandma
Starting point is 00:59:55 That's my grandma That's right You should've told him Grandma gonna die now Grandma can't afford her medicine Grandma can't afford her insulin Cause of you No don't do that
Starting point is 01:00:03 What happened if grandma really died And that's all him For the rest of his life well what if grandma really couldn't afford the insulin because of that 350 that was on that credit card yeah and and you and you got to just teach them about hard luck you don't steal from no old people man you don't steal from nobody but you really don't steal from your grandma young boy yeah how should we discipline young boy for that you stupid we're gonna talk about it in the next room. You need to get in the studio and make you a diss worker, too. Girl, I'm 45 years old. What do I look like?
Starting point is 01:00:32 I'm a whole grown-ass man out here. Thank you, Miss Kitty. We're going to talk about it in the rumors coming up. So what's the moral of the story? I really don't know what the moral of the story is because y'all ain't giving me no ideas. Y'all all want to put foot to y'all children's asses. That ain't what I want to do. I'm not beating my kids. cut logan's hair off one time made him bald i did that one time i sent him to to grandpa's house for a week one time and you know my pops is ex-military retired
Starting point is 01:00:54 police officer so i know that was difficult i did a lot logan i mean logan took a lot logan was probably one of the the hardest he's good money now but back then jesus christ he's good money now because he's bigger than you you You can't do nothing with him. You're scared to death of him. Definitely not scared to death of him. Definitely not. There's nothing you can do with him. Definitely not.
Starting point is 01:01:10 All right. Well, when we come back, we're going to talk about NBA Youngboy's diss record to Charlamagne, and we'll see if Charlamagne has a reply.
Starting point is 01:01:17 What? Shut up. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk NBA Youngboy. Rumor has it, rumor, rumor has it. Call out a name or you gossiping or you chatty-patty. I am gossiping. This is The Rumor Report. I mean, I guess we on The Breakfast Club. This is where the tea spills, right? Right.
Starting point is 01:01:38 Now, last week, Charlamagne gave NBA Youngboy donkey of the day for saying he's not big on fatherhood, correct? Absolutely. Well, he responded. He said some things online and then he responded with a diss record. Well, you know, the young brother said he wasn't big on fatherhood. We all should be big on fatherhood we all should be big on fatherhood but he's 24 years old you know i'm saying so his prefrontal cortex hasn't even fully developed yet he'll start thinking more rationally once he turns 25 maybe but i respect
Starting point is 01:02:33 the fact he had real livestock in the video like he had a real live he had a real donkey in the video that's correct that's a tax write-off and the food for the donkey is a tax write-off too so salute to him for that. You can get cheaper taxes if you actually own the donkey because it's farmland. That's right. Absolutely. And the food for it
Starting point is 01:02:52 is tax deductible. So very smart of him for that. I was just a little confused because he said he invited you to Grave Digging Mountain to pull up on him so he could talk face-to-face.
Starting point is 01:03:01 But then he said he'd bat your ish in and then hit you with the Drake. Let me tell you something. I wouldn't go if he invited you that if he invites you that way i mean no duh that's the beauty of being 45 years old and being born in 1978 number one i ain't going to no place called grave digger mountain the hell i'm doing on grave digger mountain if ain't halloween okay also the name of his song was akadonkey okay where i'm from in the low country 843 there's a couple of classic
Starting point is 01:03:22 records called akadonkey one is from my guy little boss drop on the clues bombs for little boss the other is from my guy uh molly ma drop on the clues bombs for molly ball so salute to those brothers and all of us are big on fatherhood in the 843 okay yes all right just just don't go to grave digging mountain all right now most def uh he was uh doing a podcast called the cutting room floor and they asked him if drake is hip-hop like is drake hip-hop why are you doing this to me drake is pop to me in the sense like if i was in target in houston and i heard a drake song it feels like a lot of his music is compatible with shopping. Or it's, you know, shopping with an edge.
Starting point is 01:04:08 Fair. I like Drake's music, but I understand exactly what you're saying. It's likable. Likable music, yeah. It's likable. Lena, I'm going to leave you alone. We're going to move. So many products.
Starting point is 01:04:19 So many SKUs. So many SKUs. Look at all these SKUs. They have everything here. Oh, this is great. This is a new drake you hear it it's great what happens when this thing collapses are we not in some early stage of that at this present hour are we seeing like the collapse of the empire buying and selling where's the message that i can use and that was done by uh i don't want to pronounce the name wrong i'm definitely going to rico omandi she's the one that hosted can use. And that was done by, I don't want to pronounce the name wrong, I'm definitely going to
Starting point is 01:04:45 Reco Omondi. She's the one that hosted the Cutter Room Floor. Well, most definitely entitled to his opinion. A salute to my guy Glasses Malone. He's the host of the No Ceilings Podcast on the Black Effect iHeartRadio Podcast Network. He's the first person I heard speak of Drake in that way. He actually compared Drake
Starting point is 01:05:01 to Walmart, though, instead of Target. But to answer the question, is Drake hip-hop? Yes, Drake is hip-hop. Absolutely. Drake is 100% hip of Target. But to answer the question is Drake hip-hop? Yes, Drake is hip-hop. Absolutely pop. Drake is 100% hip-hop. But guess what? Drake is also a whole bunch of other things too.
Starting point is 01:05:11 That's correct. It's easy to say all of these rappers are pop for the most part because the word pop means short for popular. Correct. So hip-hop has been pop music
Starting point is 01:05:19 for a long, long, long, long, long, long time. But Drake is hip-hop. Drake is R&B. Drake is pop. Drake is Afrohop. Drake is R&B. He's R&B. Drake is pop. Drake is Afrobeat. Drake is whatever that patois do. Drake is a thousand percent hip-hop.
Starting point is 01:05:31 He get on them records and start speaking the patois and all of that type of stuff. Just like he done records, whatever that sound is from London. Like, Drake does a lot of different things. Oh, the drill? I guess.
Starting point is 01:05:42 I don't know. Badman Toto. Badman Toto. Whatever. When he be sounding like Safari. Yeah. That's Badman pull up, Badman foot. of different things oh the drill i guess i don't know bad man doto bad man don't whatever whatever yeah that's that's bad man pull up bad man foot oh i don't i don't know yeah but drake is hip-hop he's yes but he's also a bunch of other things he is but he's definitely hip-hop yeah i agree with you now jonathan major loses dennis rodman's biopic role uh it was supposed to be called 48 Hours in Vegas.
Starting point is 01:06:07 And they're saying that he lost a partner. Yeah, I mean, he defined celebrity in so many ways, that guy. He was a personality. He was a super athlete. I mean, he was all these things. He was a headline. He was everything. Hopefully, I get to sit with him and chat with him when we get closer and try to get the script right. All these things, all these industry things but uh i never really put a ceiling on myself but this is definitely
Starting point is 01:06:28 a role where i'm definitely gonna make sure i'm pushing that ceiling out you know because he demands that you know he he's such a full individual so he's he's gonna demand a lot as you see jonathan majors was super excited about playing that role as wild as dennis rodman was there's things dennis rodman did that whoever plays him is probably gonna get canceled for just for playing him in the movie okay like damn well they're saying lionsgate is reportedly no longer involved in the project and released it back to the producers i i i was actually excited to see that because i know dennis rodman was a wild boy i was excited to see it because i was going to see how they were going to make Jonathan Majors taller. Dennis Rodman,
Starting point is 01:07:06 damn near 6'9", 6'10". How you going to play Dennis Rodman? How tall is Jonathan Majors? Like 6'3"? No, hell no. Yes, he is. No, he's not, man.
Starting point is 01:07:13 He's taller than me. No, he's not. He's like 6'0", maybe. Everybody's a giant to you, though. No, they're not, actually. Yes, they are. I met Jonathan there. Jonathan did a project for us
Starting point is 01:07:22 called Broke Down Profits, which is available on Audible right now. You should go listen to it. Executive produced by myself and Kevin Hart. Starring Jonathan Majors and Dasha Polanco and Brian Tyree Henry. Written by S.A. Cosby. Yes.
Starting point is 01:07:36 It's on Audible right now. Jonathan Majors. Hey. Okay. You're six foot flat. Just like I told you. Nah. Well.
Starting point is 01:07:43 Why you don't like the. Why you didn't say his height? Because he's short. But you Googled his height and didn't say it. Because he was right. Isn't that not ego? Boy, the beige ego is something else. No, you already lost... The beige ego is ridiculous.
Starting point is 01:07:54 No, you already lost today, so I wanted to keep you with that. And that is your rumor report. Who you giving the donkey to? Let's go. I need my Dallas Cowboys to come to the front of the congregation. We would like to have a word with them. You should be quiet. That's what I'm talking about. This is your problem. You don't know how to be quiet. I'm just saying. People tell you to the front of the congregation. We would like to have a word with them. You should be quiet. That's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:08:05 This is your problem. You don't know how to be quiet. I'm just saying. People tell you to hush and you keep talking. This is what I'm talking about. You see? And that's exactly what got you in trouble. That's why you're in trouble right now.
Starting point is 01:08:13 Dallas Cowboys. Keep going. Keep talking. Even when people tell you to hush, you keep going. You don't listen. Keep going. The strap collar? Yep.
Starting point is 01:08:18 Keep going. The strap collar? See, he can't shut up. That's his problem. Shut up! Yep. You should take your own advice. Look in the mirror and say it just like that.
Starting point is 01:08:26 No. See? It's the breakfast level of one. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed?
Starting point is 01:08:37 A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Starting point is 01:08:50 Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I create my own country? My forefathers did that themselves.
Starting point is 01:09:04 What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help!
Starting point is 01:09:17 We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. Starting point is 01:13:58 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Some donkey today just saw himself. I've been watching you, Charlamagne. I was ready for you. wherever you get your podcasts. You know how to act a donkey. Everything that Charlamagne's saying is true. Stonk you today for Tuesday, January 16th. Goes to my favorite sports franchise in the world, the Dallas Cowboys. Drop on the clues box for my Dallas Cowboys. Not just the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. We weren't here yesterday, so I wasn't able to get this off. And I know we haven't, you know, been to a Super Bowl in 29 in 29 years hell we haven't been to an NFC championship game in 29 years we are 5 and 13 in
Starting point is 01:14:49 the playoffs since beating the Steelers to win our last Super Bowl in 1996 uh the Green Bay Packers dropping the clues bombs for the Green Bay Packers okay salute to the Green Bay Packers they beat us they have more postseason wins three at AT&T Stadium than the Cowboys do in their own home venue. It's disgusting. Look, I'm numb to it after 29 years. I know every year we say the Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl, but what else am I supposed to say? Okay?
Starting point is 01:15:14 I'm supposed to say, hey, we're going 12-5. We're going to get eliminated in the wild card game of the playoffs. Is that what you want us to say? No. Who talks like that? Pessimism has never won any battles. So, Dallas Cowboy fans, we shall remain optimistic, and we shall declare that we are going to win the Super Bowl every year until we do.
Starting point is 01:15:31 But that's not what I'm here. That's not what I'm here to discuss this morning. I'm here to discuss the fact that Mike McCarthy and Dan Quinn, our defensive coordinator, aren't fired yet. And Bill Belichick has already interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons. What the hell are we doing, Jerry Jones? Okay, see, Jerry Jones, the reality is you're the problem. You're the problem because you want to be the owner, the president, and the GM.
Starting point is 01:15:52 You need to relinquish every title except owner. I don't care that when people wore leather helmets, you had some success at the University of Arkansas as a football player. I don't care that you're one of very few owners who had a significant level of success as a football player. I don't care that you're one of very few owners who had a significant level of success as a football player. No, the reason the Cowboys suck now is because you want all the power. Being owner is not enough for you. When Jimmy Johnson was our head coach and we was winning all those Super Bowls in the 90s, Jimmy had to leave because y'all couldn't work together
Starting point is 01:16:20 simply because you wanted more authority over the football side of the operation. Jerry Jones had the title of gm but everybody knew jimmy johnson had all the control over on the field matters and that's how it should be and that's how it needs to be if you bring in bill belichick but you gotta go out there and start courting bill belichick you're 81 years old jerry okay the apple watch is ticking all? Literally and figuratively. All right? Bill Belichick ran the front office for most of his time with the Patriots, so let him do the same with the Cowboys, but you got to go get him first. He don't want to be in Atlanta with the Falcons. That's small fries to Bill Belichick. All right? The most valuable head coach of all time
Starting point is 01:16:58 needs to be with the world's most valuable sports franchise, period. All right? Jerry, listen to me. that black man from the bone thugs crossroads video with that long black trench coat and that badoor and them shades he's preparing at any moment to touch you between the eyes you don't have the time you think you have okay you wasted 29 years and too much great talent because you're afraid to have another alpha in the building you're already the owner it's your team we this. You pay all the players. You pay all the coaches.
Starting point is 01:17:27 Your ego will get stroked. All right? Just go out there and get Bill Belichick. Okay? Okay. Don't let him go to Atlanta. If he goes to Atlanta, then I got to come back and give you another donkey of the day. All right?
Starting point is 01:17:38 Now, I also want to say this. I was thinking about this over the weekend the dallas cowboys not winning a super bowl in 29 years is proof that the illuminati does not exist okay where are the youtube conspiracy videos about that you mean to tell me y'all believe entertainers okay are selling their souls for success. But Jerry Jones, with a net worth of $13.5 billion, can't buy a soul or two? He can't buy any success for this franchise. Y'all believe black entertainers are getting movie roles and record deals and just achieving various levels of success
Starting point is 01:18:17 because of a secret society. But Jerry Jones, who has a net worth of $13.5 billion, and the Dallas Cowboys team, which is worth over $9 billion. America's team. They can't get none. No success. Wouldn't Jerry Jones be considered one of the elite? Don't the elite control things?
Starting point is 01:18:36 Well, how come they can't control my Dallas Cowboys winning? Jerry Jones don't got nobody to sacrifice? Huh? Well, I say right now we need to sacrifice everybody. And by sacrifice, I mean fire, starting with Mike McCarthy and Dan Quinn. Okay? Please give Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys the sweet sounds of the Hamiltons. Oh, now you are the donkey of the day you are the donkey
Starting point is 01:19:06 of the day yee haw I realized I didn't even really want to get him donkey of the day until I started doing it because I love my team and all I wanted to do was take my dad to a Super Bowl and I will get that opportunity.
Starting point is 01:19:26 This won't be the Cowboys playing in it? No, it definitely will be the Cowboys playing in it. I ain't talking about taking my dad to just some regular Super Bowl. I'm talking about taking my dad to the Super Bowl when the Dallas Cowboys are playing in it. If we go out there and get Bill Belichick. I don't even know why Bill Belichick is wasting his time going to interview in Atlanta. Falcon said he already interviewed with them. Waste of time.
Starting point is 01:19:44 Okay? Waste of time. But? Waste of time. But also, Jerry Jones, don't waste Bill Belichick's time. Fire Mike McCarthy and Dan Quinn today. Dan Quinn got four interviews set up this week for head coaching availabilities anyway. So he ain't going to be there no way. Mike McCarthy got to go bring in Bill Belichick so we can go to the Super Bowl next year. New Orleans.
Starting point is 01:20:04 Lil Wayne. Drake. Halftime. Performers. Okay? Lil to the Super Bowl next year. New Orleans. Lil Wayne. Drake. Halftime. Performers. Okay. Lil Wayne, Drake, and friends in New Orleans. All right? Next year.
Starting point is 01:20:11 Cowboys versus whoever. Okay. All right. Well, thank you for that donkey today. Now, let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051. Let's ask this question for delirious Cowboy fans. Excuse me. Let's ask this question for delirious cowboy fans. Excuse me.
Starting point is 01:20:25 Let's ask this question for people out there. Finish this sentence. Before I leave this earth, I need to experience what? That is the question. 800-585-1051. Myself, I would love to see my Knicks win a championship. We've been heard ever since Patrick, you and mr finger roll but i'm just asking 800 585-1051 finish this sentence oh jason kelsey retired podcasting must be good before i leave
Starting point is 01:20:54 this earth i need to experience what do i want to waste that on the dallas cowboy super bowl it's not gonna happen anyway 800-585-1051 let's discuss call us up right now it's the breakfast club good morning the breakfast club morning everybody it's dj nv charlemagne the guy we are the breakfast club now if you're just joining us charlemagne gave donkey of the day to the cowboys yes my dallas cowboys greatest sports franchise in the history of sports. And we're asking everybody to finish this sentence. Before I leave this earth, I need to experience what? Charlamagne probably will never experience the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl. That's not what I want.
Starting point is 01:21:35 But what do you want? What? What you mean? What do you want to experience? What do I want to experience? I can say. Mine is simple. Before I leave this earth, I want.
Starting point is 01:21:41 You already said the Knicks. You said that you want to experience the Knicks. That's what a sports franchise. That's sports. Before I leave this earth, I want to experience my kids growing old and being successful. I want to experience my kids graduating high school and college. I want to experience my kids having their own family, having their own families. If I experience my kids growing old and being successful, that means I get to grow old and you know live a long long
Starting point is 01:22:06 prosperous life you know be 90 and 100 and you know have my kids bury me when they in their 50s you know in 60s and you know have grandkids that's what i want to experience i want to experience my kids growing old and uh being successful yeah and sports wise of course i would love to see the knicks uh but as far as life i just want to see my kids happy. That's it. Whatever's happiness to them, whatever's successful to them, I just want them to be happy. That's all that matters.
Starting point is 01:22:34 As long as my kids is happy, no matter what they do in life, no matter what they accomplish, whether they have kids or don't have kids, whether they get married or don't get married, I just want to see my kids happy. What if they're happy watching the Cowboys win the Super Bowl? What if one of your kids grows up to be a Dallas Cowboy fan? What if one of your kids grows up to date a Dallas Cowboy player in the future and their happiness depends on the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl?
Starting point is 01:22:55 You still want that? Go ahead. Speak something negative over your kids right now. Go ahead. All I want to see is my kids happy, regardless of what it is. Say it. Regardless of what it is. Say if they're dating a Dallas Cowboy player in the future and their happiness depends on the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl, you want the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 01:23:10 Say it. Yeah, as long as my kids are happy. Say it. Yes. You got to speak it to fruition. God is listening right now. Whatever my kids want to do to be happy. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:23:18 You have to say it verbatim. What? That you want, if your kids want the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl to be happy, you want the Cowboys to win a Super Bowl to be happy. If my kids want to see the Super Bowl to be happy, that's fine. Let me ask you a question. You still ain't speaking it in the fruition. Let me ask you a question. If your daughter wanted to date a white guy and that makes her happy,
Starting point is 01:23:36 would that make you happy? No, it wouldn't. And I am very stern on that in my house and very clear on that in my house. But if your daughter wanted to be happy with a white guy. No. No. If your daughter wanted to have a family with a white guy. No. No. If your daughter wanted to have a family with a white guy. No.
Starting point is 01:23:48 No. No. If that makes your daughter happy, just... I don't want that. What are you talking about? What if it makes your daughter happy? If it makes my daughter happy, cool. But you know, daughters shouldn't be happy if their daddy's not happy. Right? So your happiness as a daughter should depend
Starting point is 01:24:04 on how your father feels you really want me in that you really want me walking you down the aisle at that wedding yes all right yes okay i've talked i've said i've spoken on for years how i want black love right okay you see me and your mommy okay me and your mommy have created a beautiful black family i want the same for all of my daughters. She might like Marty. And Marty might be the guy that walks her down. And they're happy.
Starting point is 01:24:30 And they do things together. As long as Marty last name Jackson. And you call him Marty for short because his first name is Martin. Right? Okay? What are you talking about? And that ain't got nothing to do with racism either. And they're going to be playing shake it off in the wedding.
Starting point is 01:24:44 When you're walking down, shake it off No, that's corny Hello, who's this? Fireman Marty Lee Hi Marty, your name ain't no goddamn Marty Hey Marty What's up? DJ Envy and Charlotte Mack
Starting point is 01:24:58 So Marty, question, what's one thing you want to see before you leave this earth? I want to see them Cowboys win They been playing too hard not to win. Well, we'll see you next year. They got to win, man. Like you said, it's something with that, man. They got to win before we leave this earth. What do you say, 30 years?
Starting point is 01:25:16 29 years. Yeah, 29 years. Okay. Sherm, what's up, Sherm? Yo, yo, what's up, man? What's one thing you want to do before you leave this earth? What do you want to experience? I want to smoke with Snoop Dogg.
Starting point is 01:25:28 Oh, okay. All right. That's it. I want to smoke with Snoop Dogg. You know, I got family and stuff like that that's famous and all that. What family you got that's famous? Oh, it's just a cousin of mine. I got two cousins as well.
Starting point is 01:25:43 Who are they? Lou Duvall. Lou Duvall, your family? I got two cousins as well. Who are they? Lil Duval. Lil Duval, your family? That's right. Lil Duval, if y'all really close, Lil Duval can set it up the way you can smoke with Snoop. Lil Duval smokes with Snoop all the time. Well, you know, I don't smoke with family like that.
Starting point is 01:25:59 You know, that's family. You know, we just in-house, you know, I don't try to do all that, man. That's not, you know. So who's the other one? So who's the other famous cousin? Jahan? Jahan.
Starting point is 01:26:11 Okay. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, brother. Yeah. In life, you're going to smoke a smoke. Smoke. I want to smoke with you.
Starting point is 01:26:18 Okay. Hello, who's this? Morning, this is Tifa. Hey, Tifa. Good morning. Before you leave this earth, what do you want to experience? What do you want? I want to experience Charlamagne taking back him saying Drake does Afrobeat,
Starting point is 01:26:33 because that was ultimate disrespect. Saying Drake was what? You said Drake does reggae and Afrobeat. Yeah, no. He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before.
Starting point is 01:26:41 He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before.
Starting point is 01:26:41 He has done Afrobeat before. He has done Afrobeat before. But he is not. But he's not Afrobeat. No, that's disrespect to Liz Care, Burner Boy, Davey Dole. I mean, he did kind of help to put Afrobeats in the global spotlight. No, Davey Dole's been out. I mean, Davey Dole's in Atlanta.
Starting point is 01:26:59 He's been out. Davey Dole said that on Boulay Kev podcast. He said, you know, Afrobeats was definitely huge before Drake, but Drake is Drake, so I'd be lying if I said he didn't put some spotlight on Afrobeats. So that's all you want? Because Drake has been on some Afrobeats songs. That's all I want.
Starting point is 01:27:15 I mean, he could be on the songs, but he's not Afrobeats. Yeah, I'm not saying, he's not Afrobeats. I get what you mean. He's not, but he's done records with Wizkid. You know what I mean? Just think about how much that bothered him. He's done a record with Tims. He said, experience one thing before you go. That's all she wanted. Yeah, me taking, that's crazy.
Starting point is 01:27:29 Yeah, you're right. That's kind of wild. Y'all got to think this through before y'all call the radio station. 800-585-1051. We're asking if you could experience one thing on this. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed?
Starting point is 01:27:42 A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
Starting point is 01:27:57 I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tried my country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory.
Starting point is 01:28:13 I was making a racket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go.

Now, if you're just joining us, Charlemagne gave Donkey the day to who? The greatest sports franchise in the history of the world, the Dallas Cowboys. So we're asking, before you leave this Earth, you need to experience what?
Starting point is 01:33:24 We got mike on the line mike good morning good morning dj everything how are you i'm doing well mike what's one thing you need to experience brother man dj envy i agree with you a hundred percent on the on the next subject man i would i'm from the south blanco and i would love to see the next winner championship before i leave this planet as well man yeah i would love to see the Knicks win a championship before I leave this planet as well, man. Yeah, I would love to see the Knicks win as far as my sports, what I would love to see in sports. I would love to take my dad to that. Me and my dad got a chance to go courtside last year, but I would love to see the Knicks win a championship.
Starting point is 01:33:58 We've been following the Knicks too damn long not to see that. Yeah, exactly, exactly, man. My father been a Knicks fan since he was a kid. And that would be the greatest thing for our city, man. Hey, I want better for y'all New Yorkers. I want y'all to have higher goals in life. All right? Okay?
Starting point is 01:34:18 That's all you want? You get to experience one thing before you go, and that's what you want? To see the Knicks win a championship? That's on the sports side. Tyree, good morning. Yo, yo, what up? What up, man? Before you leave this earth, what you want, to see the Knicks win a championship? That's on the sports side. Tyree, good morning. Yo, yo, what up? What up, man?
Starting point is 01:34:27 Wes, before you leave this earth, what you want to experience, bro? All right, number one, I'm going to need to hit that Powerball or that Mega Mail for the bill. That's what I really need. Okay. But I have feelings for my Cowboys to win one Super Bowl after growing up. All right, so you want the Mega Bowl or you want the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl? You know what? I like that, the Mega Bowl or you want the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl? You know what?
Starting point is 01:34:45 I like that, the Mega Bowl. I want all that. A Billy and my Cowboys to win the Bowl, man. There we go, the Mega Bowl. That's what it is. The Mega Bowl. Okay, sir. He put them both together.
Starting point is 01:34:57 We have Noah on the line. Noah, good morning. Good morning. How you doing? What's up, man? Now, before you leave this earth, what do you want to experience? Man, I want to get up to Alaska and see the northern lights.
Starting point is 01:35:07 Ooh. That's beautiful, ma. That's a good one. My wife actually went with her mom before she passed, and they got a chance to experience that. I heard it's amazing. Very beautiful. Yeah, it's got to be one of the prettiest things in the world. I'm not gonna lie.
Starting point is 01:35:19 That's not all that's in Alaska. Alaska got Area 51, too. You know about Area 51, 51 right i wasn't worried about that they ain't got nothing to do with me that's what they say that's what they say all the aliens and you know all of this you know what let me stop talking before they come get me yeah but but if you get a chance definitely try to book it i heard is um they got like helicopter flights to take you to different areas of alaska so you can see different things i heard it's very beautiful my wife came back with a bunch of beautiful pictures.
Starting point is 01:35:48 Alright, brother. Hello, who's this? Action Jackson. Yes, sir. Down here in Madison, Wisconsin. How you gentlemen doing this morning? What's up, brother? We're asking before. You can reach out to him now and start that going immediately.
Starting point is 01:36:03 Yeah, I understand that, but see, I went through some drama with my immediately. Yeah, I understand that. But see, I went through some drama with my son. See, I went through a kidnapping. I had to call the FBI, go down to Hawaii to get my girls. My son actually found some for the FBI on TikTok. And we went down there on a staying operation and captured my two young, beautiful girls that I have full time right now. But what the tragedy part about my son was that right after we got my daughter's back, his mother then did the same thing my daughter's mama did, was try to take my son away. But it was up top with this one.
Starting point is 01:36:42 So I miss my son dearly. If my son can hear me right now His name is Antoine And I love you son Your dad out here praying for you But to Envy's point You can still make that happen my brother You got time
Starting point is 01:36:58 You know what I'm saying That's something you can make right Yeah time always play a play So I appreciate that, by the way. But you know what I'm saying? It was a rough trial and tribulations at that time when my daughters left and then my son left right behind that. I have full custody of these kids and these mothers.
Starting point is 01:37:18 They play a dirty game. But you need to do it now, though. You don't want to wait until tomorrow because tomorrow might not happen. So you need to get off the phone with us and text them, call them, FaceTime them, email them, whatever you need to do it now, though. You don't want to wait until tomorrow, because tomorrow might not happen. So you need to get off the phone with us and text them, call them, FaceTime them, email them, whatever you need to do. Show them that you love them, you care about them, and you're thinking about them, brother.
Starting point is 01:37:34 That's respect. Hey, I went through seven family court trials and won every one of them. And I pried 10 lawyers through this whole trial. And now I got my daughters. But my son was a victim of the child custody thing.
Starting point is 01:37:54 Okay. Well, you got to keep fighting, man. Remember what I said earlier, man. You know, in life, I don't necessarily believe in good. I don't necessarily believe in bad. I just believe it's all part of one long process. And as long as you live in the process, it's still going, man. So, you know, go figure that out,
Starting point is 01:38:08 my brother. Alright. Let's go to one more line. Hello, who's this? Hey, this is 1111 from Los Florida, man. Top of the morning. What's up, brother? What's one thing you want to experience before you leave the surf? It's not necessarily a thing, but I'm trying to figure out how to put them period beers together, man.
Starting point is 01:38:23 Just like you do that advanced civilization before us. It's just something I always wanted to know out how they put them period meds together, man. Just like they do with the advanced civilization before us. It's just something I always wanted to know. I feel like if I could understand that, I could understand a whole lot more. But you know what's so crazy? Stuff like that, we might have to die to get the truth about. That won't happen before I leave this earth. But don't they got movies based on that of how they assume science-wise how it's done? Yeah, but I'm talking about undeniable proof, man.
Starting point is 01:38:48 That's all. That would really do a lot for me, man, and our people, I feel. What you think? I think extraterrestrials made the pyramids. What you think? I totally agree, man. I'm a flat earth to the heart, and I can go with that. But I need undeniable proof, man.
Starting point is 01:39:02 I just want to put that out there. We feel like us without tinfoil hats on, man. All right, man. No, no, no, no. We got the tinfoil pooshiesty mask now. The what? The tinfoil pooshiesty mask. We don't just do the tinfoil hats no more.
Starting point is 01:39:15 We put the whole tinfoil pooshiesty mask on. You flatter. That's what we doing. Okay. Listen, but the moral of the story is, like I said, I just want to experience my kids growing old and being successful. That's right. I want to see my kids being happy. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. just want to experience my kids growing old and being successful. That's right. I want to see my kids being happy.
Starting point is 01:39:27 That's it. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now, salute to you guys for riding with us.
Starting point is 01:39:39 We had a little, I guess, I don't know why the mics went out. Something happened. Well, the mics stopped working, so we got it back together now so that's the thing man i mean it just happens that's the beauty of live radio it doesn't matter if you know you're a big nationally syndicated show in 100 plus markets like the breakfast club is are you just you know doing time and temperature in in in your market you know we're in your city if the board goes out, the bikes go out, nothing you can do about it. Nothing you can do.
Starting point is 01:40:08 Nothing. Yeah, well, we'll be back with the positive note. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. It's time to get up out of here.
Starting point is 01:40:18 Charlamagne, you got a positive note? I do, man, and the positive note is simple. Stand on your boundaries, even if it gets lonely. Don't let nobody play with you. Have a great day. Breakfast club, bitches! You all finished or you all done? Had enough of this country?
Starting point is 01:40:32 Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory.
Starting point is 01:40:46 Oh my god. What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max.
