No, I'm always trying to say, like, somebody high. I'm not high. I ain't say, you not, first of all. I ain't say nothing about you being high. That means you must be high.
Starting point is 00:03:07 That means you must be high. It's not me, officer. I promise you, there's not a body in the trunk. There's not 20 kilos of cocaine in the trunk. Don't even look there, please. Well, set up. Set up, you know. But, no, I'm having a good, a good week, actually. We could tell.

And we went to this event yesterday in Baltimore down at the convention center. Yo, it was just amazing, right? So shout out the 53 Families Foundation. That's former Raven Super Bowl champion, Jamil McLean and his wife. They have a foundation.
Starting point is 00:03:41 They partnered with Salvation Army and the Ravens organization to feed 8,000 people, yo. like their families right and they had it was just amazing we walked in the convention center is biggest ish in Baltimore we walked in and the outcome was wild it was everybody in Ravens jersey
Starting point is 00:04:02 they provided the Ravens jerseys for all the kids and the parents and everybody was dancing they had a DJ, shout out the DJ Q to Q 92 Q's Persian Nicole was there the radio station was out there everybody was there and it was just
Starting point is 00:04:19 dope I went up and I spoke I'm on behalf of my foundation it was amazing and then we went to Governor West Moore's I don't know what to call it a campaign kickoff dinner I'm not sure but it was a lot of elected officials running for re-election right yes yes and he announced that last night and I just I thought it was just amazing that MoMA Foundation was invited to that as well I met so many people and so many people love y'all so I was told to tell everybody to keep doing what y'all doing they love y'all they hear y'all and um we don't even play in baltimore we don't even play on the station in baltimore the i heart radio app in the tv in the podcast listen

Yeah, salute to Baltimore and Maryland everybody out there. I'm actually going to the Baltimore Convention Center, I think, this week,
Starting point is 00:05:25 or next week. Okay. So we might be doing a car show on the DMV area over in that area. So we hopefully we can not get that going. But yeah, I'm glad you had a good time, man. And it is the season to give back, even though this government shutdown is
Starting point is 00:05:38 they're saying that they voted to open the government back up. That doesn't mean people are going to get their snap benefits right away. And I'm sure we will be breaking that down in front page news. Also, So we got Joseph Sikora, Isaac Keyes, and Christy Laughton joining us, the cast of Power Book for Force.
Starting point is 00:05:55 You know, power is, that's our new stories. You know, growing up, our parents and grandparents' stories with days of our lives and, you know, guiding, light and bold and the beautiful, all the Tyler Perry stuff in the power universe. That's all our new stories. That's right. So we're going to be kicking in with them in a little bit. And then we got front page news. So don't go anywhere. Get your ass up.
Starting point is 00:06:14 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Shalameen, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get some front page news.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Now, last night, Monday night football. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Packers 10 to 7. Did y'all watch the game or not? Did you see the game? Hell no, I was asleep. Not even the first half of the game. You seen the first half of the game, Brad? I was knocked out, bro.
Starting point is 00:06:38 This was pretty good. It was a good defensive game, man. So salute to the Philadelphia Eagles. Also, the New York Giants have fired their head coach, Brian DeBall. Damn, man. Salute to Brian, man. Yeah. I salute him now that he's not a giant cell.
Starting point is 00:06:51 A nice little coach. No, I salute to Brian. What's up, Mimi? Good morning, NB, Josh Solomon. How y'all doing this morning? Peace, Mimi. Hey, good morning.
Starting point is 00:07:02 All right, well, we start this morning in Washington. We're after 41 days, the Senate has approved a deal to finally reopen the government the last step before it heads to the House for a vote. Now, the plan would keep most agencies funded through January 30th
Starting point is 00:07:17 and extend programs. like SNAP food assistance and veteran services through next September. It restores back pay for federal workers, protects jobs that were at risk, and ensures food aid continues through 2026. But it leaves out a major Democratic priority extending those health care subsidies that helps millions of families afford insurance. Instead, Republicans agreed to hold a separate vote on that issue by mid-December, which progressives say does not go far enough. Some groups are now calling for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to step down, accusing him of failing to keep Democrats united after eight Democrats crossed party lines to help Republicans pass that bill. Now he keem Jeffries, he is addressing the media.
Starting point is 00:08:05 He addressed the media shortly after that vote, saying that this fight should not be about partisan politics. Let's listen. This fight for us is not partisan. It's a patriotic fight. We're waging this fight on behalf of the American people. The five states that are most impacted by a failure to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits are West Virginia, Wyoming, Alaska, Mississippi, and Tennessee. 45% of the people of the Americans who are going to lose health care or be at risk of losing health care if they don't, on the other side of the out, extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits, 45% of them are registered Republicans.
Starting point is 00:08:47 35% registered Democrats and 20% unaffiliated or independent. This is not a partisan fight for us. It's a patriotic fight. Now all eyes turn to the House where Speaker Mike Johnson is urging members to return to Washington. He says he's confident that the measure will pass, but a stop short of promising that the House will take up that separate health care vote. Democrats were promised in the Senate. Let's listen to that exchange.
Starting point is 00:09:15 So you're not committing to bringing up a bill that deals with the Obamacare subsidies before they expire? I'm not committing to it or not committing to it. If something passes the Senate, it would only pass on a bipartisan basis. Would you bring it up? I can't commit to anything that hasn't even passed through the Senate yet. I mean, I've never done that. I'm very consistent. I've been speaker for over two years.
Starting point is 00:09:38 So that is the latest with that. And as you were mentioning earlier, Emmy, those SNAP benefits, there's still some more ongoing. litigation with that. So the Trump administration, they returned to the Supreme Court yesterday asking the justices to step in and keep those full payments frozen while the government remains shut down. This comes after the lower courts ruled that the administration must resume those full benefits for 42 million Americans who rely on the program. The Supreme Court could rule on that as early as today. But for now, the rulings have created a confusing patchwork with families in some states like Hawaii and New Jersey receiving their full
Starting point is 00:10:15 benefits, while others in like Nebraska and West Virginia have received nothing at all. Am I the only person who thinks folks are being too hard on Democrats with this one? You know what I mean? Democrats finally did something that they normally don't do, which is fight. And I really wish Democrats would just be honest and let people know, like, look, we tried. You saw us try. Like, we threw a hell Mary on behalf of the American people, even though we know MAGA had zero reason to make any concessions to us.
Starting point is 00:10:41 We did what we could, but we have zero power and we couldn't get it done. And yes, we understand people are going to lose health care or at risk of losing health care. We know health care premiums are going to go up, but there was nothing else we could do. And they're really damned if they do, damned if they don't in this situation. Because if you don't reopen the government, now you've got people not getting SNAP benefits. Federal workers not getting paid. Like, they really had no other option, if you ask me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:06 I think people are upset that they gave up. I think for once they wanted Democrats to stay in the fight, they felt like coming after, coming off of that election last week, that they had momentum and then they just basically gave it away. But at what expense? That's the thing. Yeah, but that's the other thing. At what expense. At the expense of the federal workers,
Starting point is 00:11:24 at the expense of people not getting paid. But, you know, it's like what they were saying yesterday, putting sick children against hungry children, right? Right. But it's also incredible to me the belief in the faith that people still have in MAGA to do the right thing. Maga does not care.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Like, they have zero reason to make any concessions to Democrats. on this situation. They don't care. I don't think Maga has ever made a concession. I think they do what they want to do, and it is what it is. Either you roll with them or you get rolled over. That's what it's always been. It's just incredible to be the belief in the faith
Starting point is 00:11:57 that people still have in Republicans. I just don't have any faith in them to do the right thing ever. Yeah. And really quickly, Donald Trump, he has issued a new round of pardons this time for several allies that help overturn the 2020 election. The list includes
Starting point is 00:12:13 about 77 people. So, Nate, Some names you might know, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, who was a former Trump attorney and White House Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, for those pardons will wipe away any federal charges or potential investigations connected to their roles and trying to keep Trump in power after his 2020 laws.
Starting point is 00:12:31 I wonder how many people who, like, what president pardoned the most people? It had to be Donald Trump, right? I have no idea. I don't know. It just has to be, right? It seems like he just partners everybody. But he's pardoning the wrong people.
Starting point is 00:12:43 January 6th rioters. Not everybody. But I just feel like he just, usually they pardoned at the end of the presidency. Right before they leave, they part of it. He just parted people like, it's Tuesday, and I'm just going to pardoning people. That's crazy. All right. Actually, it says Franklin D. Roosevelt, but 3,687 pardons of clemencies.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Damn. From 1933 to 1945. All right. Well, that is front page news. Thank you, Mimi. Uh-huh. Everybody else, get it off your chest. 800-585-105.1.
Starting point is 00:13:13 If you need to vent, phone lines are wide open. And again, 800-585-105-1 is the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. I'm darling. Hey, what you doing, man? I'm darling. I'm calling you.
Starting point is 00:13:28 This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. 800-585-105-1. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club. Hey, guys. Hey, what you all? Good morning. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Auntie Kim. What's up, Auntie Kim? Get it off your chest. How you doing that? Hey, girl. How you doing it? one um hey good baby you get envy
Starting point is 00:13:47 come on you're going to see all the man peace peace peace i really i really didn't think they should have i i know both sides i just swear i wish they had not
Starting point is 00:13:57 given up that fight i i know i know but it's just Chuck Schumer got to go a lot of them got to go though a lot of them just have to go because a lot of those things that were suffering
Starting point is 00:14:10 those are red states and and i'm going to ask you a question Solomon how how some of the magas still believe what they believe. My husband was channel surfing yesterday, and I was walking by the TV, and I heard the TV say, yeah, because the Democrats did the shutdown. I did Democrats, because I didn't know what channel it was.
Starting point is 00:14:30 I said, Democrats, I said, they're lying. So he said, oh, I was just going past Fox News. So just for me to hear that walking by the TV, can you imagine sitting here 24 hours and those seven days a week listening to that line well I'll say this I agree Chuck Schumer needs to go but when I was talking about people's
Starting point is 00:14:51 belief in faith in Republicans I'm not even talking about their supporters I'm talking about people on the other side of the aisle the people that think that you know that Republicans would make any concessions to Democrats during their shutdown I'm talking about them I'm like how do y'all believe in man yeah the ones that cross over
Starting point is 00:15:05 yeah the ones that cross over but they all need a goal that's why I'm so glad these young people running for office running for dog catcher running for something running for dog catch it I mean really
Starting point is 00:15:22 Salaman at this point we all need to try to be on some school board something because we get ran over and you remember when we were going to school we had cousins aunties
Starting point is 00:15:38 whatever in the school board our friend mama was absolutely knew these people. We don't know these people. And we're letting people just tell our kids anything in school. We don't go to the school. You know that you don't know now, you can't just pop up in the class.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Yep. You've got to make an appointment. Yeah. Why I've got to make an appointment to sit my grandson class? Hey, that is true. That is true, though, growing up. Because, like, my whole life I knew Window Gildiard, just because. My hope.
Starting point is 00:16:09 He lives three doors from her. That's what I'm saying. side on the project that's right but you know what they do that for safety too though because like the other day i had to go to my kids i had to go to parent teacher and for parent teacher even though they see me every day we ain't shooting up no school i know every day they still made they still took my driver's license they stuff like but you see me every day i do love that it's you know what it is too you know what it is also they want to make sure their teachers uh up and front and saying uh knowing that you coming too because a lot of times we believe
Starting point is 00:16:41 leave these teachers, like when we were coming up, everything the teacher said was the truth. You can't say that about these teachers and principals now. Yeah. But it's also different because my mother was, my mother's a public school teacher
Starting point is 00:16:57 in South Carolina. You know, she used to teach at Courtney and she teaches in Berkeley County and then my grandmother was a lunch lady. And like I said, Window Gildiard is, he's like 70-something years old now, but he was just a politician that I knew my whole life in South Carolina.
Starting point is 00:17:11 So, like I say, my sister used to braid is here. So that's how long I'd know him. Absolutely. Absolutely. But like that, that's the point you're making. We knew these people. No, you're right. We got to get back.
Starting point is 00:17:26 We think that we got so much skeletons in our closet. Man, we can sit down and we ain't got nothing compared to these people. Oh, you're right. You're absolutely right. We need to run for something. We need to kick our schools back. and I got to go if you know Steve Perry
Starting point is 00:17:44 yeah I know Steve Perry man I love this man you hear me I just wanted to move all of my children me at one time this the man I watch this the man I mimic and this the man I try to
Starting point is 00:18:00 every day make sure my kids get this kind of education absolutely thank you so much salute to Steve man Dr. Steve Perry hit me up yesterday actually salute to Steve

You know, we won't wish that and speak that will be in life. Speak that into existence. Tell Jeff, do we parents to do your time's bestseller, baby. Go pre-order it right now, wherever you buy books. Yep, so definitely. I'm not a parent, but I'll buy it, and I'll give it to my brother.
Starting point is 00:19:16 If he got, like, seven kids. Thank you. You ever tried to get pregnant, Trab? What? Oh, my. Um, me. That's a wild excuse to want to get in, Tram. It's just to.
Starting point is 00:19:30 But you can't say it on the radio show, me. Oh, I'm sorry, my phone. Get me pregnant. That's true. You said it. Wait. Speaking of that being the song. I'm calling because y'all know I write music and I learned you by shot.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Maybe, you know, she might be listening. I know Glorilla is in album mode and I really want to work with Doolrilla or her album and having so much music for a woman and my cat about it. I don't think I noticed I almost could have made Cardi's album. Put a Glorilla pack together. I'll send it to a trap. But that's good. Don't just breeze by that.
Starting point is 00:20:06 You could have almost made Cardi's album. That's dope. Yeah, so shout out to Big Miler. She helped me out But, you know It's just like kind of a last minute thing And I'm fortunate that it's it And get to do it
Starting point is 00:20:16 But I'm trying to work I'm going to go over other things I'm definitely going to put that together, sorry Yeah, I send it, sir I appreciate that Thank y'all All right, babe Bye
Starting point is 00:20:25 Hello, who's this? This is Jake From King Street, South Carolina What's up, brother? King Street, what's happening? Take us all Bluetooth We got us on Bluetooth Man, we used to have a good time
Starting point is 00:20:34 At the night life At the night life And King Street back in the day I remember you Yes, sir? I want to say to you, my brother. I love you, Shaillamaine,
Starting point is 00:20:43 and my next question before I get to it. Are you going to be down on Saturday, right? On the 22nd, the 22nd, I'm having my 12th annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway, but we're doing turkey and all the fixings, everything, candy, ams, and macaroni and cheese, all of that stuff.
Starting point is 00:21:00 On November 27th. Hey, man, I appreciate you, man, because you was doing that for quite some time, and I'm an O.C., and I'm an activist as well. But what my call is, man, But I just hate to see a powerful brother like you and Rolla Martin, you know, have your different opinion the way that it came out because we all can have a different opinion. But the stronger brother should be, I wish that our target would be on the White House
Starting point is 00:21:24 not against one another because at the end of the day, I know for fact, you and Roland Martin are on the same page for success for our black people. You know, as I say, I don't like to see y'all, you know, put y'all opinion out opening like that, but it is what it is, you know? I have nothing else to say about Rolling Martin. I said what I needed to say. God bless that, brother, and I salute the platform he's built. Yeah, and I like that. Like I said, I just love to see my brother someone like you who do what you do.
Starting point is 00:21:56 I know what you do. I see what you do. You from the Carolina, and I visited not many before quite some time, but I'm sick to think so, you know, I'm way older than you. And like I say, Role of Monk to start too far behind me. I just hope that the energy is utilized somewhere else. But it is what it is. But before I get off, I got three, four brothers' fans that's doing the right thing. And I love to get young black brothers to do the right thing.
Starting point is 00:22:18 A shout out like. Please do. Thank you from Kansas, South Carolina, DJ, Bull, and Sean from Florida, South Carolina. Y'all, do what you're doing. God bless you, God continue what you are doing, brothers. Thank you, King. Appreciate you, man. Get it off your chest, 800, 585, 105, 105.1.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Now, we got the latest with Lauren coming up. Good morning. We do. So yesterday, we talked to Justin Combs, Diddy's son, and we got some- Who is we? Me? We, as in the show.
Starting point is 00:22:44 I ain't talked to her. Whenever I talk to somebody, we- We're supposed to say no names. You're just supposed to say, source is close. That's not true. That's supposed to be shit. She always said we.
Starting point is 00:22:51 All right. It's all fun of the game, so somebody said, until somebody ran up on you, talk about, you gave me donkey of the day. And you're like, what? That wasn't me? You don't think people get mad at us
Starting point is 00:23:01 for what you'd be saying up here? Yeah, I hope not. What? I'd be in places all the time. Auntie's be running down on me crazy because of you. First of all, aunties love me. They'd be upset with you sometimes, especially the ones that work in airports. They're very vocal about you. Really?
Starting point is 00:23:15 Yes. That's crazy. I swear, I talk to them all the time about you and the stuff you say. And they mean well. They just want you to get it together. But a lot of them be loving him, though. They do. It'd be coming from a place of love, but they'd be like, tell him, stop this.
Starting point is 00:23:29 And why he'd say that? But yes. So we got some things that get straight. It's an exclusive. We're going to have some conversation about Diddy and some of the things in the news. All right. We'll get to that next.
Starting point is 00:23:37 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Lauren becoming a straight bad. Tell her. She gets them from somebody that knows somebody. She gets the details. I'm the home girl that knows a little bit about everything.
Starting point is 00:23:52 She'd be having the latest on this. The latest with Lauren La Rosa. Sometimes you have facts. Sometimes she have details. Sometimes she have a little bit of everything. Well, it's the latest. On the breakfast club. Talk to me.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Hello, Kube. Good morning. All right, y'all. So, we have some things to talk about. So yesterday, we were able to speak to Justin Combs, who is the son of Diddy, Sean Combs. And we have some things to clear up. So first of all, we talked about that alcohol story, right? And I had already told you guys that Diddy's rep said that that was not true whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:24:25 But yesterday I found out, of course, they tripled down on the fact that that story was a lie, they allege. But they say, the back this up, that Diddy is in a program currently where they check him, like checking with him every day, like they're testing him every day for substance abuse. So there's no way that he could have been under any influence. Dr. Dr.
Starting point is 00:24:44 They said he's in the R-DAP drug program. And they said if he was found with any liquor or anything around that, he would not be able to be in that program. So that tells you that he is being monitored and that he is in the R-DAP program, drug program. He also said
Starting point is 00:25:00 he's very focused and committed to coming home and being a change person, so he wouldn't play with that because he is, he wants to see his daughters, he wants to see his sons, he wants to see his family, so he is not playing like that. I just turn to the latest with Envy. Because, you know, I got to utilize my resources. I'll be calling you too.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Oh, okay. All right. You're supposed to give her the information Envy. He's not supposed to report it. I don't mind, okay? I spoke to him for a long period of time. Thank you. You spoke to Diddy? No, Justin. Justin. Oh. Yes. And then so there was a photo yesterday that was released. It was Diddy's intake photo when he got to Fort Dix in the conversation
Starting point is 00:25:34 of, no. That's just changed the name of the jail, damn it! It's so hard. You say it's so hard. Dix. Dix. We know. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:25:46 Well, it was his intake photo when he got to the place where he is currently. And the story that CBS News did, they broke the story with the photo, was that he is working in a chapel in the library. And you remember, there was a report that he was doing laundry. We were told yesterday that that's not true He's not doing laundry He is working in the chapel And according to CBS
Starting point is 00:26:07 This is a very highly like coveted job And I ain't washing no drawers at Fort Dix I refuse Give me another job I ain't doing that But that's what they said They said that the rumor was he was washing drawers He's not washing drawers
Starting point is 00:26:19 He's actually in the chapel He's working in the chapel library And he also has the program Free Game with Diddy Yes which is that program Where he's teaching them like Business 101 And like you know
Starting point is 00:26:30 Entrepreneurship and just different things that he was doing before he got to this location as well too. Now another thing, those conversations about Trump and the pardon there was a story that broke two weeks ago that said that Diddy is all good walking around smiling because he's telling other inmates at the location he's
Starting point is 00:26:45 at that Diddy is going to pardon him in early 2026. We were told that is completely not true. He hasn't had any conversations about any of that. And then also yeah, like Envi said that he's super focused on coming home. He just wants to get out of there. Like, he's not doing anything
Starting point is 00:27:03 to damage or to push any of the time back. Like, that is his focus right now. So, they just wanted to clear up some things. Where do people be getting the stories from, though? Like, how do they just keep where do people... That's not really a headline, though. Man in jail wants to come home. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:27:19 sure I bet. Yeah, you got to do all that stuff. He said, the headlines that you see on T and Z are all false. He said, none of that's real. He didn't have that, he was never with no liquor. He said he's focused on being home. He said he works at the chapel. not washing anybody's underwear. He said that the pardon situation,
Starting point is 00:27:36 he said that's false because they don't even speak to any other inmates, so that wouldn't even be a story. So he said a lot of this stuff is just made up to make him look even worse than what's happening because he said none of it's true and it's all BS.
Starting point is 00:27:46 He said he just focused on getting home. Yeah, they also said that he'd be hearing all the jokes too. He gets it. He said he understands the jokes. I don't even be saying nothing. I just looked at you can do it in front of me, Jess. Who'd be making jokes?
Starting point is 00:28:01 Charlamagne. You. You show. Oh, yesterday. That one line of yesterday. That was a good one. Would they take that, take that? I don't know what you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Okay. Well, in other news, so Beyonce and Miss Tina Knowles were outside over these last few days. Now, they've been a couple places, and it's kind of funny. So, first, they went to Chris Jenner's 70th birthday party. Now, this 70th birthday party was superstar-studded. All the biggest names that you can have. imagine in Hollywood were there. But it was reported that Jay-Z and
Starting point is 00:28:35 Beyonce were there, but you didn't see any photos of them. And the report was, you know, they did what Jay-Z and Beyonce do. Cameras couldn't catch them. Miss Tina knows uploaded a photo. So first, she posted a photo of her, Beyonce, and Chris Jenner, and she then reposted
Starting point is 00:28:51 the same photo, but... That's Chris? I thought that was Kim. That's crazy. No, this is Chris. I know. She looks so much like her daughter. Yes. Yes. Then she repost... Miss Tina knows, reposted. the same photo, but like she had the white background of white lines around it. So you know, you can't make a photo fit on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:29:07 So she said that... So you put it in a border. Yeah, she put the border around and she said, I posted this earlier, but didn't know how to make it fit in the IG. So I had someone to fit it in so you can see the whole picture. I'm 71, give me a break. So they look gorgeous, but
Starting point is 00:29:21 of course now people have photos of Beyonce at the party, and Beyonce was trying to be low at the party. Right, trying to be low. And it's all because of her mother. Please believe that it was so cute That Beyonce said mom You can post this picture
Starting point is 00:29:34 Yeah You know of course Yeah And also she should have asked blue Blue can you In the heat of battle Your squad relies on you Don't let them down

Starting point is 00:30:46 a show called Planet Money. And now we're back making this new podcast called Business History about the best ideas and people and businesses in history. And some of the worst people. Horrible ideas. And destructive companies in the history of business.
Starting point is 00:31:02 Having a genius idea without a need for it is nothing. It's like not having it at all. It's a very simple, elegant lesson. Make something people want. First episode, how Southwest Airlines use cheap seats and free whiskey to fight its way into the airline business. The most Texas story ever. There's a lot of mavericks in that story. We're going to have mavericks on the show.
Starting point is 00:31:24 We're plenty of robber barons. So many robber barons. And you know what? They're not all bad. And we'll talk about some of the class. classic great moments of famous business geniuses, along with some of the darker moments that often get overlooked.

What do you get when you mix 1950s Hollywood, a Cuban musician with a dream, and one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time? You get Desi Arnest, a trailblazer, a businessman, a husband, and maybe, most importantly,
Starting point is 00:31:59 the first Latino to break prime time wide open. I'm Wilmer Valderrama, and yes, I grew up watching him, probably just like you and millions of others. But for me, I saw myself in his story. From plenty canary cages to this night here in New York, it's a long ways. On the podcast starring Desi Arnaz and Wilmer Valderrama, I'll take you in a journey to Desi's life, the moments it has overlapped with mine,
Starting point is 00:32:21 how he redefined American television and what that meant for all of us watching from the sidelines, waiting for a face like hours on screen. This is the story of how one-man's spotlight lit the path for so many others and how we carry his legacy today. Listen to starring Desi Arnaz and Wilmer Valderrama
Starting point is 00:32:39 as part of the MyCultura podcast network available on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. The forces shaping the world's economies and financial markets can be hard to spot. Even though they are such a powerful player in finance, you wouldn't really know that you are interactive.
Starting point is 00:32:56 acting with them. And even harder to understand. Donald Trump's trade war 2.0 is only accelerating the process of de-dollarization, which in a way is jargon for people turning away from the dollar. That is where the big take from Bloomberg podcast comes in, to connect the dots. How unusual is a deal like this? Unprecedented. Every weekday afternoon, we dive deep into one big global business story. The biggest story of the reaction of the oil market to the conflict in the middle. the least is one of what has not happened. Katie, you told me that ETFs are your favorite thing. They are. Explain that. Why is that the case? And
Starting point is 00:33:35 unpack what it means for you. Our breakfast foods are consistent consumer staples and so they sort of become outsized indicators of inflation. Listen to the big take from Bloomberg News every weekday afternoon on the IHeart Radio app, Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Tell me how to practice an Instagram thing. fly and wanting to be low. God damn. Right. But Ms. Tina, what day was this?
Starting point is 00:34:03 I believe it was Sunday or Saturday or Sunday. It was a regular Sunday outfit? No, this was her party. I do not know. It was a Saturday birthday party. It was a 70th birthday party. Still, though. Just imagine getting this fly but still wanting to be low. The only one of no pictures of you. I think that's fire. That's fair. Yeah. Yeah. Um, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:18 So, but Miss Tina do say like she'd be getting in trouble with Beyonce when she posts certain things and when she like clap back or whatever. She said she do getting in trouble. I remember that. She said that. That's why I thought it was so funny. She probably didn't tell it a posted. She probably just was like, my baby looked cute and I'm a posted. Yeah. And it's 70?
Starting point is 00:34:35 Yes, and it was a James Bond themed birthday party. This is an awesome great anti-aging cream, but she's drinking kids blood. Or great doctors. Oh, my gosh. She just She's in Hollywood. No, no, no, she just got a fresh face with. And she let them document the whole
Starting point is 00:34:50 thing, like her doctor's been posting about her and all that. She just had She had a grocery shop into the Kardashians. So when they do things, it's like when you lift the car with the tire, how are they doing? No, stupid. Envy, you pay any time ago.
Starting point is 00:35:03 They stay at the doctor. Like, yeah, like, I take second home. What? First of all. Envi, you went too. So you know, I didn't. I did not get a nose job. I did not get a nose job.
Starting point is 00:35:10 I did not get a nose job. I removed the polyps out my nose had nothing doing a nose job. My nose didn't ship and didn't get thin of nothing. That is not true. That's true. You look way different down than in them old pictures. That's a fact. People post a party flyers.
Starting point is 00:35:23 I'd be like, who was that? Tell them again, Lord. lot. Well, the last place that they were at Beyonce and Miss Tina Nose, they went to support Kelly at the Boy is Mine tour. They went to... Yeah, Miss Tina Nose posted two separate nights, but
Starting point is 00:35:37 Beyonce, and one of the photos, has on a backstage pass, right, around her neck. You know, when you go backstage and you got to wear the pass, so people can make sure you get in. And the world is going crazy because they're like, Beyonce, girl, like, why do you have on this pass? Like, you don't need a world this past. That's all right. Because she has to wear it backstage.
Starting point is 00:35:52 But it's Beyonce. And she's all right. It's fire. I don't told you all a million times. Beyonce is the person that walks in the room and introduces herself to everybody. She's like, hi, I'm Beyonce. So she is not above wearing a backstage pass.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Somebody gave her that and said, hey, you need to wear this backstage. She probably put it on. Whoever gave her that is foul. Why? She needed a backstage pass. I would have did it just to talk to us. Hey, hey, where are you going?
Starting point is 00:36:16 Where are you in? And by the way, I need my job. And what if they're Mexican? They're not taking no chances right now. They're like, yo, I'm going to do my job. But if they're Mexican, you said something, I'm giving you all no reason, no excuses. For real, y'all don't never want people to do their job, and that's the problem. Drop on the clues bombs for everybody out there doing their job, man.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Did they put a wristband over, too? If that's my job, because when my supervisor comes to me and says, why didn't you put, give her a back to his path? Why you didn't give her a risk? It don't matter. I got to do my job. There's a lot of other stars that were there, though, like over the weekend in L.A. Like, Rihanna was there, Queen Latifah, Mar-Brock-Akew, like,
Starting point is 00:36:51 they didn't come on Pass. They didn't come on, Riley, they took them off. the picture. They took them off for the picture. They took them off for the picture. That's all it was. That's all for that security. Seriously, you're waiting back. Okay, who are you all? Drop one of the clues on for that Mexican security. I know it was Mexican, too. Jesus Christ. All right. That is the latest with Laura.
Starting point is 00:37:10 Now when we come back, we got front page news. So don't move. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Jess Hilarious. Sholomey and the guy. We are the breakfast club. Let's get back in some front page news. Now the Eagles beat the Packers last night and Monday night. Football 10 to 7 and the Giants have fired their coach, their head coach, after blowing another double-digit lead in the fourth quarter.
Starting point is 00:37:32 I'd be wondering, is it fair to fire the coach, man, when the players suck, though? You know what I'm saying? Like, you should fire a coach when you know that a coach got, like, great players on the field. And he's not getting the best out of it. But when you up in the fourth quarter for four games and you lose four games and you're up double digits? Because the players
Starting point is 00:37:48 suck. They wouldn't suck if they were up in the fourth quarter by double-digit leads. Like, the game are good. Like, we're busting ass until that fourth quarter, and it just seems like we're full. I don't care less. Then you don't know anything. He's talking about the players suck. Do you don't? Hold on. So y'all players don't suck? Some of them.
Starting point is 00:38:05 That's what you mean? Some of them. Jackson Dottler guy, though. Well, he's injured. Oh, all right. Well, he looked like when he was playing. Yeah, Russell would start next week. Oh, Lord. Seven interceptions. Yo, shut up, Ben. Mimi, help me. Seven and deceptions by the third quarter. Leave me alone. Come on, Mimi.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Oh, goodness. Okay, y'all. Well, good morning, Jess. Well, good morning. Well, good morning. Good morning. All right. So we start this hour with the latest at the airport. So even with the Senate deal to reach that shutdown that news, the FAA still hasn't lifted its nationwide restrictions, meaning travelers are still facing the same headaches at the airport with no real relief in sight just yet. Now, starting this morning, the FAA is cutting flights across the country by 6%. And those reductions will keep climbing throughout the week, reaching 8% on Thursday. And 10% by Friday morning. Now, the FAA, they began scaling back flights last Friday at 40 of the nation's busiest airports because of the ongoing shortage with air traffic controllers. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says the FAA won't lift the order until safety data shows that it's appropriate, but as that the skies remain safe to fly. He says that the cuts are about managing traffic, not about grounding planes. Meanwhile, President Trump is
Starting point is 00:39:22 weighing in on the air traffic controller short. shortage on social media. He's blasting air traffic controllers who've called out sick, saying he's not happy, and he is threatening to dock their pay. He's also promised those who stayed on the job are great. He's calling them great patriots and promising $10,000 bonuses once the shutdown ends. My critics are pointing out that these are the same controllers who've been working day to day showing up without a paycheck. And the union says that they've been working six days a week, 10-hour shifts. We've been talking about this. They've been guiding planes across the country while struggling to pay their own bills.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Passengers, they are also feeling the fallout. This weekend alone, there were more than 4,500 cancellations, 18,000 delays. Let's listen to some of the frustration that the passengers are feeling. This thing is affecting, you know, citizens, and it probably shouldn't be affecting everybody like this. Guess what I have to do? I'm going to you home, and I'm going to drive a truck across country to get back to Utah because I have to be back by Tuesday. It's wicked frustrating. Everybody should just get along. Let's figure it out. These air traffic controllers, my safety is in their hands. It's unbelievable and it's embarrassing for our country. We've been here since 4 this morning.
Starting point is 00:40:35 But the thing is, there's no flight to Syracuse. So we're going to Raleigh, North Carolina, then we're going to Buffalo. Then someone has to pick us up. That's crazy. Jesus, man. Somebody's not a right. It's definitely embarrassing for this country. So a lot of different array of feelings there, people renting cars, driving U-Hauls, whatever they can. get because there's a shortage on rental cars, so if you can get a U-Haul, people are just doing whatever they can to get to where they need to be. Yeah, you know, all the situation Mimi shows me is how much people don't understand
Starting point is 00:41:04 the working class, you know, especially when it comes to the federal workers. Like, 67% of this country lives paycheck to paycheck, and you want these people to come to work when they're thinking about how they're going to keep the lights on, literally. Like, do you know how many people I know who have had to get other jobs, temp services, driving Uber, lift, taking out loans from the bank?
Starting point is 00:41:20 Folks really have no idea what the working class goes through. Exactly. And especially with President Trump getting on social media. Come on, man. Telling the workers they need to get to work. You know, you have no idea
Starting point is 00:41:35 what their day-to-day looks like. Child care, you know, household bills, whatever they need to do. And that's the other thing, too. The child care piece is very important because some of these people have had to take off of work because they can't afford child care
Starting point is 00:41:46 at the moment because they're not getting a paycheck. So they got to make sure the kids get to school or stay home with the kids. It's nuts, man. Yeah. Absolutely. And today is Veterans Day, a time to honor our men and women who serve our country. But this year, the celebration looks and feels very different. That's because of the ongoing government shutdown. Hundreds of thousands of active duty service members could miss their next paycheck. The administration has found temporary fixes twice since October, but those funds have now run out, leaving many military families uncertain about how they'll cover their bills, their rent, their groceries this week. So the shutdown has also forced the cancellation of parades, ceremonies, and community events that usually honor veterans. Organizers say they simply didn't have the access to military bases, restrooms, or staffing to make those events happen.
Starting point is 00:42:37 Also, if you're wondering about what's open and what's closed today, most restaurants, grocery stores, retail shops will stay open. But banks and post offices are closed today since they fall under the Federal Reserve. Online baking and ATM services will still work. throw transactions could take an extra day to process. UPS will run pickup and delivery services. FedEx is also operating normally. And in New York
Starting point is 00:43:02 though, the nation's largest federal the nation's largest Veterans Day parade is still happening with more than 20,000 service members marching up Fifth Avenue to mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. military. Listen, man, salute to all the veterans out there.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Salute to my pavis. Pops, what's up. I love you. I say it all the time. I think it's disgusting how I'm America treats its veterans, okay? If you have fought for this country, you should get free housing, free health care and a stipend every month, okay? America, why can't we do the basics?
Starting point is 00:43:30 I'm a simple man. Take care of the people who take care of us. Veterans have taken care of us. We need to take care of them. How hard is it to take care of our veterans? Okay? It shouldn't be. It shouldn't be that hard.
Starting point is 00:43:39 It shouldn't be hard at all. It is nothing worse to me. You want to get me pull out a sign that says, I'm a veteran and I fought in the war. I don't know how people can just walk by folks like that or just drive by folks like that and not giving them whatever you got
Starting point is 00:43:51 in their pocket. man, that's the least we can do because our veterans get treated like garbage in this country. Absolutely. Shout out to my dad, who else, also a veteran. Yep. Shout out to mine to, yes.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Yep. All right. And many families, as we stay on this topic of the shutdown, many families are still waiting on paychecks, but they're turning to new ways to make ends meet. So by now, pay later
Starting point is 00:44:15 as exploded during the government shutdown. Many people are calling it credit card 2.0. So apps like, AfterPlay or firm, they are seeing a major surge as families use them, not just for extra, but for essentials like groceries, gas, and even utility bills. Now, with so many federal workers and families still waiting on paychecks, these apps have become a lifeline to get through another week.
Starting point is 00:44:39 So instead of paying all at once, these apps let shopper split purchases into four smaller payments and spread it out over a few weeks. Usually with no interest at first, families stretched thin. it can feel like a lifeline, but consumer experts, they are warning that this easy money can turn into a debt trap. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau says late payments are rising fast and more Americans are juggling multiple by now pay later plans at once. So many of the households, though, they are already filling the squeeze, including those federal workers who've gone more than without a paycheck. But financial experts say this is part of a larger
Starting point is 00:45:16 problem where Americans are borrowing for the future to just survive the present. Total household debt right now is about $18.6 trillion for easy payments might sound like a quick fix, but it could hit harder once those bills come due. I mean, that's how it used to be back in the day, especially in close-knit communities. Like if you had somebody in the hood who owned like a little convenience store or something, you know, everybody had a little, you know, shock they could go to and have a line of credit and they They were paying back when they got paid. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Yeah. So that's what people are turning to now. And they're just, you know, it is a help. I think people just need to get help where they can get help from. Just for the essentials, it's not even for shopping anymore. It's for gas and groceries, you know. Cocaine. Stop it, man.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Oh, my God. All right. Thank you, me. He said, mm-hmm. You said cocaine? Wait a minute. Yeah, girl, you said cocaine. And she's talking about, mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:46:13 I'm not here You see what Mimi does on the weekends I'm right But I mean Don't put that on Mimi I'm joking I didn't hear you But back in the day
Starting point is 00:46:24 In the hood There wasn't line of credit For that too What are you talking about It's a fact If you knew the person And you knew the people Yeah I give you
Starting point is 00:46:32 You know And then you pay me back When you get paid Yeah I don't know nothing about that Thank you Mimi There you go Mimi I used to sell
Starting point is 00:46:39 Crash Mimi We know I was a petty drug dealer Okay All right, y'all. Well, that's your front page news. I'm Mimi Brown. Follow me at Mimi Brown TV.
Starting point is 00:46:47 For more stories, follow the Black Information Network. Download the free IHeartRadio app and visit BINNews.com. Thank you, Mimi. Thanks, Minnie. Now, when we come back from Power Book 4, For us, Joseph Sikora, Isaac Keyes and Christy Lofton, so don't go anywhere. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:47:06 Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Just hilarious. Salomey McDye. We are the Breakfast Club. Lauren Lauraoises here as well. We got some special guests in the building. Yes, indeed.
Starting point is 00:47:15 We got Chris Lofton, we got Isaac Keys, and we got Joseph Sikar. Welcome, gentlemen. How are you feeling, man? How's everything? Fantastic. You saw that at first episode. It dropped us heavy. Last week, that's right.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Set it up for the rest of the season. It's going to be fire season. How do y'all approach doing the final season? How did that even make y'all feel? Is it bittersweet? Like, how do you approach it? I think, like you just said, it's bittersweet. But, you know, I think once we know it's the final season,
Starting point is 00:47:42 season, I think it makes us to go a little harder. You know what I mean? Make sure we make the scenes a little bit more intense. I think the writing room did the same thing. It's just making sure that every episode had a bang factor to it. And, you know, as actors, you know, we're going to put our best foot forward. And I think we did a great job doing that. Is it always that feeling like the last show would be so amazing?
Starting point is 00:47:59 But like, yeah, we just can't end it like that. We got to do another one or another one. Is that ever a feeling or you're like, nah, this is rap? Well, I think that Gary and I just wanted to make sure that we gave Chicago. Chicago's due. A big thing was that I didn't produce the first season, just the second and the third season. And a big thing for me was getting Chicago better, you know, a little bit more realistic. Like even the power show is kind of like New York adjacent, but we wanted to be Chicago adjacent.
Starting point is 00:48:25 But it's like it's a real place. We wanted to show the diversity within the diversity. Like I think it was kind of like a globular south side of Chicago, a globular west side. And I just mean that there was no specificity or details. And we do a lot more detail-oriented stuff in the third. season and I think that the city is really going to bless this show for this final season what did you do to do that what was your research like leaving well yeah you know I moved I moved to New York 26 years ago so it was like you know I went back early and I
Starting point is 00:48:55 met with cops and robbers and asked and learned more about the city because when I was there there was really it was really a city of gang nations you know there was folks and people and and and a lot of things that were rules that were street rules that were followed and now with the emergence of kind of like all these renegade gangs and gangs within that used to be nations that kind of went against each other where would the pipeline be coming from how would Tommy Egan survive in this who would want to just make the money and who would just want to see him dead and I think that we do a lot of responsible storytelling in like there's a million people going at each other in on the south side and on the west side and where the
Starting point is 00:49:34 distribution comes from and some of the cartels that would really truly exist that mimic the cartels in real life. And that's what we did. Were there any things in your research, trying to get it so real where you were like, nah, we don't want to touch this just because of what may actively be happening or just because history-wise, you just don't want to, you don't want to, you don't want to roughly any further. Yeah, well, you know, yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:53 I mean, Chris and I are both from Chicago and there's definitely, you know, I mean, it's not that I'm this age, this old, it's like in my 30s and 40s even going back. I mean, I remember it'd be like, you know, you don't want people from the past popping up and being like, yo, man, what's up? how you, why'd you put it like that or why'd you do this like this? And so you do, there is kind of, you know, it's adjacent, but it, but it mimics the real life. It's like people, if you know, you know style. And I think there's a lot of wink, wink, wink, nons to real life stuff going in there.
Starting point is 00:50:22 But yeah, I mean, you want to be careful. You know, Tommy's such an interesting character, Joseph. Like, you know, he's always either chasing control or power or loyalty or revenge. Like, what's driving him this season? Man, that's a great question. A lot, I think a lot of it is revenge and kind of this, this, this. this hunger for power and how that the power
Starting point is 00:50:42 you know they say power corrupts complete power corrupts completely yeah absolute absolute power collapse absolutely I know for Trump he's always just a little smarter than me it's just true but that's what it is
Starting point is 00:50:57 and I think that again it's like can you have it all and that's that's the question because Tommy's going for it all this time and is he going to sacrifice loyalty with diamond is he going to say is he going to do backhanded deals with Ginnard, who's a backhanded deal
Starting point is 00:51:10 master. But yeah, it's a really exciting season. Gary Lennon, again, our show runner in the whole writing room did a fantastic job. I'm so proud of them, and I think the fans are going to be really happy. For sure. I always feel like Diamond's trying to move righteous in a dirty world. I agree.
Starting point is 00:51:27 I'm doing a great job then. That's what I'm trying to portray. I think, you know, it is. Like you just said, it's not moral and values too much in the street. Now, this street codes, you try to go by those things but those more of the values get you killed
Starting point is 00:51:40 and he was trying to play both sides for so long and I think now he's starting to see he's choosing the side he's both feet in you know now he's actually kind of looking at Tommy
Starting point is 00:51:48 like why you were in love you know looking at his brother Janari because he wants that brother relationship I believe but at the same time that's going
Starting point is 00:51:55 it could be his downfall I mean it's all about relationships and alliances right now and how you choose and what side you're going to choose to go on and I think Diamond is in that caught in that
Starting point is 00:52:03 little quandra right now you guys relationship I was going to say Diamond and Tommy Joseph and Isaac you guys' relationship in the new season kind of mimics
Starting point is 00:52:13 what the relationship was with Ghost and Tommy a bit in the reverse yeah yeah and it's weird because it's like now you're in that power seat no pun intended but now you're in a driver seat
Starting point is 00:52:22 right and you're able to like choose what you say what you don't say and you're kind of like controlling him was that purposely done for the fans who've been following
Starting point is 00:52:29 all the shows to kind of put that together yes yeah I think so but I also love how it mimics just like that hurt people hurt people and if you know
Starting point is 00:52:37 you kind of follow the the faults of your father or whatever that expression of Charlemagne will correct me but there you know the sins of the father
Starting point is 00:52:46 it's like there's there is there is this kind of reversedness that's happening too and we'll see what happens to Tommy because ultimately
Starting point is 00:52:53 what happened to ghost so you know yeah you gotta see what happened definitely there was a moment in the first episode where there was
Starting point is 00:52:59 that when you came to talk to him in the warehouse I felt like you turned into ghost in that moment but Tommy checked himself too. Yeah, but I felt like Ghost would have did that to you.
Starting point is 00:53:08 It was almost like reverse psychology. Like you were just telling him what you know he needed to hear. I don't know, I had a hard time saying, sorry. Yeah, I felt like I didn't even know you thought that you were checking yourself in that moment. And it's hard to talk about because it was real. I mean, I think Tommy's an honest character in the way when he's like, yo man, I should have told you everything. I should have done that. But it's Tommy going to do it
Starting point is 00:53:24 again. That's the thing. Yes. It was smart. It was like kind of manipulative. He knew how to, he knew how to down, like, minimize the situation at the time. Because I felt down was coming high and I think that was a different level of seeing Tom. me, and Joseph played that. So, you know, yeah, I thought it was a great thing.
Starting point is 00:53:40 Because it was even hard for me as the character. Like, they're like, no, bring it. I'm like, yeah, I want me to bring it. You know what I'm like that? No, bring it. And they're starting to, it starts to build with the character. Chris, how do you see Jean-ard? Did I see people call him a smart villain?
Starting point is 00:53:51 Some people call him a monster. Is he just a man trying to out hustle a system that's stacked against them? Man, I think Janard is misunderstood because honestly, I, Isaac hate when I go off into this tangent, but I honestly feel like nobody's looking at it the right way. I feel like because I'm actually from Chicago, I try to implement a lot of what I know the people are going to be watching this
Starting point is 00:54:12 saying like, nah, that ain't how we were doing in Chicago. Y'all are really going to let this white boy come up in here and do that? So to me, I feel like I'm the voice of the fans. So to me, I look at Ginnard as, to me, the only one that got some sense for real, because why I'm supposed to not know anything about what Tommy was doing. No six years on power.
Starting point is 00:54:29 I'm supposed to not know that. To me, this is just a white man in Chicago who may or may not be the police. Nobody knows. like why are we all so trusting in him like nobody and then with my brother I'm like okay you were in prison
Starting point is 00:54:42 I heard you like to cut hair in jail that's what you was in there doing right bought you a barbershop put you up you're comfortable you got something to do stay out the way you're on parole you're hot you're not supposed to be touching the streets
Starting point is 00:54:52 you're going to mess up the whole organization if you get called you're going to blow it all up so I'll handle it talk to you will deliberate we'll be partners brothers you know that was my goal my dream didn't work out like that
Starting point is 00:55:04 Is that difficult to make it makes sense? Because what you just said is I have to make it make sense. I have to make it make sense. Because, you know, we look at him from, we understand it, but this is a new series. Yes, yeah. To me, trying to make it make sense, I did create that backstory. I said, I remember I told Joseph, Isaac, and with Gary
Starting point is 00:55:19 Lennon and our showrunner, I created a whole backstory in my head to make some of this make sense because obviously I would never go against my brother trying to kill my brother. That's crazy. But I tried to make it make sense to Janard. It's like, you, okay, we're talking about millions of dollars. This organization CBI is supposed to be worth
Starting point is 00:55:35 millions of dollars and if he's been in prison for 15 years that means I kind of know more of life without him than with him and now if we add millions of dollars into the mix and some new person that nobody knows who's white how about I killed both of you? How about I just killed both of you? You ain't even been here for 15 years anyway. I could do without you.
Starting point is 00:55:54 You know, so it's like I don't understand. So that's how I had to convince myself and sometimes I get too invested in it and I'm like, yeah, you know what, Janard. You can't get too invested. You can't get to it. I know. I get too invested. sometimes and I'll be like, no, this is wrong.
Starting point is 00:56:07 Nobody gets Gennard. We're like, that shows across on screen, though. I feel like on screen, you're like the little brother that's like, no, I can do this. Listen to me, listen to me. But then you'd be messing up and then you got to call it on me. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:56:18 You got the messing up part, right? That's the little brother thing, though. What is up party, people? I text him that. As soon as I landed in L.A., I mean, in New York, I told him that. Speaking of the brother dynamic, you guys' dynamic is kind of like
Starting point is 00:56:33 the same but a bit different in this new season because you're kind of making your own moves and you got your girl and she's helping you a bit more you trust them a little bit more but you're not at the same time what do you guys want your relationship to say to people in a regular world
Starting point is 00:56:46 about brother relationships big brother little brother relationships people that don't sell drugs or they do right I would personally I would probably say like forgiveness could probably be a thing and love trumps all and blood is definitely thick and water
Starting point is 00:56:59 I think I would want people to like take that from it like blood is truly thick and water and your family I feel like the only people closest to you can hurt you. Because if you don't care about somebody, they can't hurt your feelings. They can't betray you. You know, it has to come from somebody you love. So I feel like learning to forgive and learning that family trumps all is something that
Starting point is 00:57:18 I would want people to know. Well, but blood is finite. Water is infinite. Uh-oh. There's a, you know, there's all finite. That's a real time. Yeah. I think water's going to make you survive longer than blood.
Starting point is 00:57:32 You mean, you drink that a little bit, you know what I mean? The French soldiers with the Russian horse. I know all that stuff, but the water, that's life-giving, too. Take it to war, baby. Take it to war. I think, you know, it's real life. Like, you know, we all have family members there. We necessarily don't get along, but we still kind of love them.
Starting point is 00:57:47 But we may have to keep it from afar, but we're still trying to figure them out. I think it's really deep about the relationships. I think the whole show really dives into our relationship and the toxicity of it. You know, like, you know, like, you know, really all you just communicate. If you just communicate with a person, if his brother, if Diamond just would have gave Gennard a hug, you know, another hug or sometimes, he might. He made him feel a little better or just talked about it. Like, how are you going to kill your brother?
Starting point is 00:58:08 Like, it's the deepness and the deafness of what you're willing to lose and sacrifice for what you want, the kind of modes you want. And then how does that align in your life? Like, to him, killing his brother, that was nothing for him. Some people, that's something hard to do. We still get on the streets all the time. Like, why are you going to kill you? Why are you going to kill your brother?
Starting point is 00:58:25 Why are you going to unlive your brother? And it's like, can you do that? Would you be able to do in the world? So that tussle, I think, is just amazing to build a relationship between brothers. I never noticed, but you sound like Dion Sanders, man. I'll take him You'll let Beyonce have the money I think
Starting point is 00:58:40 This feels motivational for some reason He's good He's there sometimes man What does redemption look like For Diamond? Like not a discrete You know Keep pulling them back
Starting point is 00:58:50 I think ultimately what Diamond wants He wants that bill To make this money Have power But he doesn't want all the violence This stuff to go along with it At some point Like if it was the best world
Starting point is 00:58:59 The Coalition Everybody working together You know Everybody's making money Let's just do that And be cool you know and I think that yeah and I think but it's like you know when you see the character the time of character coming with Joseph play so well it's like no we want more than that
Starting point is 00:59:13 we want more to that so he's still got to make his moves and make his moves you know and align with how he wants to move so that somehow kind of creates that friction between everyone in the sense because there's so many players in this you know we still have the the lading in the cartel side and how the control do they have so now we're just trying to you know I think diamond's redemption is he really just wanted he wants to be there but but you know it It ain't going to work the way he wants it to work. And that's how it works in the streets. Do you think the world will ever look at the gang organization as like anything,
Starting point is 00:59:42 for anything righteous they've ever done? I know with BMF, 50 also tried to talk about the family union and stuff like that. And it's very prevalent that you're that character in this show. But people don't see that. They only say, why would you guys be in a show that showcases all these things? I'm sure you get that question on the time. Do you think the world will ever say, but wait, there was a righteous component to this. There was a family aspect.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Yes. And I think even outside the show, we make sure we do a lot of stuff. the community. I make sure we start we have speaking engagements and talking to make sure we know this is entertainment. It's telling a story. You know, a story of some made-up characters of some made of characters that, you know, how they move in the streets and how their life and how
Starting point is 01:00:15 their family dynamics happen. And I think that also by showing that in Chicago with all the things that's going on with the city of Chicago, we're able to show the entertainment part of it, but we're also able to touch on some of the things of the diversity of the city and how the city is made up in the history and the architecture and just kind of giving
Starting point is 01:00:31 some more light on the city in that way as well. too. But I think it's very important for people to know even as we talk is to make sure that we know that this is a story. It's a TV series. It's not real life. It's not real life. It's the power universe. We know that's not real life. There's so many things that happen. That Mustang pulls up anywhere and no parking tickets.

Starting point is 01:01:23 Texas planes, teens are dying. Suicides that don't make sense. Strange accidents and brutal murders. In What seems to be, a plot ripped straight out of Breaking Bad. Drugs, alcohol, trafficking of people. There are people out there that absolutely know what happened.
Starting point is 01:01:44 Listen to Paper Ghosts, the Texas Teen Murders, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What do you get when you mix 1950s Hollywood, a Cuban musician with a dream, and one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time? You get Desi Arness, a trailblazer, a businessman, a husband, and maybe, most importantly, the first Latino to break primetime wide open. I'm Wilmer Valderrama, and yes, I grew up watching him, probably just like you and millions of others. But for me, I saw myself in his story.
Starting point is 01:02:16 From plening canary cages to this night here in New York, it's a long ways. On the podcast starring Desi Arnaz and Wilmer Valderama, I'll take you in a journey to Desi's life. The moments it has overlapped with mine, how he redefined American television, and what that meant for all of us watching from the sidelines, waiting for a face like hours on screen. This is the story of how one man's spotlight lit the path for so many others and how we carry his legacy today. Listen to starring Desi Arnaz and Wilmer Valderrama as part of the MyCultura podcast network available on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Robert Smith. This is Jacob Goldstein. And we used to host a show called Planet Money.
Starting point is 01:02:57 And now we're back making this new podcast called Business History about the best. Best ideas and people and businesses in history. And some of the worst people. Horrible ideas and destructive companies in the history of business. Having a genius idea without a need for it is nothing. It's like not having it at all. It's a very simple, elegant lesson. Make something people want.
Starting point is 01:03:23 First episode, how Southwest Airlines use cheap seats and free whiskey to fight its way into the airline business. The Most Texas Story ever. There's a lot of mavericks in that story. We're going to have Mavericks on the show. We're going to have plenty of robber barons. So many robber barons. And you know what? They're not all bad.
Starting point is 01:03:39 And we'll talk about some of the classic great moments of famous business geniuses, along with some of the darker moments that often get overlooked. Like Thomas Edison and the electric chair. Listen to business history on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. The forces shaping the world's economies and financial markets can be hard to spot. Even though they are such a powerful player in finance, you wouldn't really know that you are interacting with them. And even harder to understand. Donald Trump's trade war, 2.0, is only accelerating the process of de-dollarization, which in a way is jargon for people turning away from the dollar.
Starting point is 01:04:20 That is where the big take from Bloomberg podcast comes in to connect the dots. How unusual is a deal like this? Unprecedented. Every weekday afternoon, we dive deep into one big big. global business story. The biggest story of the reaction of the oil market to the conflict in the Middle East is one of what has not happened. Katie, you told me that ETFs are your favorite thing. They are. Explain that. Why is that the case? And unpack what it means for you. Our breakfast foods are consistent consumer staples, and so they sort of become outsized
Starting point is 01:04:53 indicators of inflation. Listen to the big take from Bloomberg News every weekday afternoon on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I will say that these stories are, might not be based on somebody's real life, but they are lives that's happening out there. Oh, for sure. There's a Tommy and somebody.
Starting point is 01:05:14 Oh, yeah. People walk up school every time like, bro, me and my brother, oh, man. That's how it was. Bro, you mean. But that's why I think these stories mean so much, you know, and a lot of times, like she said, a lot of people feel like, oh, well, they're idolizing or they're making it seem like this.
Starting point is 01:05:27 But for a lot of times, that's what we grew up seeing, right? We grew up seeing the local drug dealers, and you always wanted to know. Well, I always wanted to know, like, how did they do their business? How did it work? So I think this kind of gives you an inside false or not false, but primarily true, of how it worked and how it got down. So when you tape. I don't think so. Tommy would have been in jail a long time ago, man.
Starting point is 01:05:46 He drives the same getaway car. All right. No, and it's loud. The car, and it is loud. It's hard to drive, too. It'd be pretty easy to peg Tommy. He's not switching up rides all that much, although in the original power. show they did, you know, some of that, some of that
Starting point is 01:06:02 shit. I think that when you made that drive to Chicago, you switch cars in the original, right? No, I was like they booked me out of the car. Let's not talk about season one. I was going to ask, you know, when you talk about street credit and talking about what's real, how important is street code when you're doing these shows? I honestly do think it's important.
Starting point is 01:06:23 Honestly, we got to keep it true to what it is, but also there are some things that we don't want to touch on because it's too real. Like, that's why they don't mention, like, real gangs. We make up gang names because we don't want to seem like we're promoting actual gang violence in the city or making other gangs because our DMs are crazy. I can't speak for everybody, but mine is insane. Like, my DMs get crazy when they show on the death threats and a lot of people. Really?
Starting point is 01:06:48 Oh, dog. Deaf threats. Oh, I get crazy DM, so it's like we try to be careful with that. You slip in little vernacular imprabs that every now and again when I see in the cut, I go, yeah, really. Because I'm really from Chicago, so I'll try to slip in on phone them. Every little chance I get, I'll try to slip it in and then because I know the city is going to be like, bro, I know. I know like that the city of Chicago is behind it.
Starting point is 01:07:12 I feel like New York and Chicago are two cities that we don't really particularly like when actors portray being from there if they're not really from there. Like we don't want you to come from L.A. and try to be on a New York TV show saying you a hood dude from New York. I don't know. I don't, man, London Brown crushes it as Uncle Marr. Well, London is an exceptional case. London Brown, shout out to London.
Starting point is 01:07:33 That's my dog. But, like, I don't feel like New York and Chicago likes that that much. L.A. don't like it at all. L.A. is another one. Yeah. L.A. don't like it at all. I also wanted to know,
Starting point is 01:07:43 when y'all shoot so many different films, how do y'all stay in character? TV shows. TV shows. Yeah, how do you stay in character in all the shows? Because y'all different characters in different shows.
Starting point is 01:07:51 I mean, for me, the simple version for me is action and cut. Like, I'm not, I don't get home with you. Yeah, I've never been that guy for real that really, like, takes it home with me. I just... Me neither. Yeah, I just know how to disassociate myself from them.
Starting point is 01:08:04 I just find that there's a lot more fun when you get to... It is. But also, it's like, you know, coming from the theater, darling. You know, it's like if you're not going to bring that character home, you're playing the guy for six months, you know what I mean? You're just, you bring it to the theater. That's why you warm up. That's why you get, you know, the whole thing.
Starting point is 01:08:20 Because y'all imagine if Joseph pulled up to pick up his kid from school, he pulled up in the car. Oh, yeah, in the mind of it. When I see you, it's so hard to not see Tommy. All of you guys, it's hard. to not envision y'all in the show i'm like think i was just watching you last night like like we feel like that girl to me i think jillard does a fantastic job acting because he's nothing like Tommy in real life he's just a nice guy he's just a lot he's different too but the voice
Starting point is 01:08:42 is there the he's selling copious amounts of drugs but other than that you know i think chris in regards to dealing with 50 cent uh what did y'all learn from little mitch i never want to be on 50's bad side that's all i just learned that and i never i never want to owe 50 money ever in life. Not from Little Meets, but just in general. Just from no one's 50. Never won money. Never won money because I know he wants it by Monday. And I just want to stay on this good side. That's it.
Starting point is 01:09:08 I don't know. You know, with him and the whole Little Moose thing, I have no clue. I'm not privy to truly what's going on there. I just know my loyalty runs deep. I know the day I booked this role, one of the first things I did, you would appreciate it, Charlemagne, because you know, you're a little messy. First thing
Starting point is 01:09:24 I did was, I went straight to Jaru's Instagram and pressed the unfollow. It says follow back right now This says follow back Because I'd already met y'all I'd already met him But long before I got up out of my I met him and he followed me
Starting point is 01:09:38 His manager and everything And I said the one thing that will not happen Curtis Jackson will not Choose to just be sitting down one day And go on Jaro's page and see Followed by Chris D. Loft And you will not And I just unfollowed him
Starting point is 01:09:49 No Jaro on a playlist anymore I don't know Heavens though He's been hanging around with me Trin's right Everybody's fifth got problems When you unfollow I don't follow. Rick Ross, everybody.
Starting point is 01:10:00 Everybody. I don't follow any of them. I swear. When we get off, I'm going to show you. It's going to say, follow back. Here's a viral moment. Follow back. I saw a T. No, I can't answer. What did you think? Hey, man, I've learned.
Starting point is 01:10:15 As you talk about football in the United States, I just walk in my light, man. I don't get involved in the mess. I don't get involved in anything, especially other. I got too many other problems of my own to be worried about something else and what's going on over there. Because you never know all the complete details. You never know. So why I passed judgment on and try to, you know, do whatever. I just mind my business, man. Simple.
Starting point is 01:10:33 Simple answer. Joseph, I once asked on TMZ, ran into you, they asked you about the Meech situation. 50 posted and it said, you was too smart. You got about it very easy. I don't know if I got out of there easy. I think I chose my words pretty carefully.
Starting point is 01:10:46 But it's because I think Meech is a nice young man. And I think that what people forget is that Fiff paid for his acting classes. I mean, he invested into Meech. So there's a certain amount. out there that's that's you know there there was love and i basically what i said to team z if there was love there can be love again you know there there's a certain amount of redemption or forgiveness within there so it's also just like i i try to stay in my lane as well you know it's not again like isaac said it's not really my business but i i i want everybody to get along but if you
Starting point is 01:11:16 can't man i'm going to keep it moving exactly you really think though that there could be love again it seems like 50's kind of like done with that situation i mean he then he's probably done you know but I always, there's always hope. There's always, always. No, it's interesting with power too because power's built on loyalty, is built on betrayal and ambition. I want to ask you, in real life,
Starting point is 01:11:38 what's more dangerous? Ambition with no loyalty or loyalty with no ambition? Wow. I'll go ambition with no loyalty. Yeah, same. That's what I would go. That's dangerous.
Starting point is 01:11:49 I'm still processing. That's deep. I'll be overthinking things like that. You're going to come up with something fantastic. I don't hear about that. I'm here for it. Ambition with no loyalty, loyalty, to no, abuse. I probably have to concur.
Starting point is 01:12:01 I think ambition can be, because too much ambition can always ruin a relationship. Because therefore, now you just go on and for what you want. You can become very selfish in that aspect. When you become selfish, you end up hurting a lot of people around you, especially when they try to be loyal to you. You know, then you're ambition. Now, you're moving different. As you say, you're moving weird.
Starting point is 01:12:18 You know, so trying to figure that out, I think that's a good question. And I like when the power show in all of its incarnations shows that. that without loyalty, without this, with just blind ambition, things fall apart. You know, this kind of lifestyle is people, you can't be happy. In a lot of ways, I always see Tommy's like a vampire in some ways. He keeps living, but, like, he's living alone.
Starting point is 01:12:40 And it could be a lonely life. It's like, it's not winning. Yeah, every day is like you're looking over your shoulder. You're trying to figure it out. There was some scenes I always looked at, I was admired, you know, how Joseph does. You talked about how can you walk away from it. But there's scenes where, you know,
Starting point is 01:12:54 I'm just, only my, this is like my first season they're doing it. I'm like, but you feel all the treachery behind you. You know, people that's trying to do all these things. Like, feeling like Janora trying to kill Diamond, I personalized that a little bit. Like, so even on the set, like, I couldn't talk to him for a little while after that. Like, knowing how, you know, just knowing how he's moving. He's sitting around the corner, over the corner, smoking the square, hang, laughing, he's being Chris Asbeck.
Starting point is 01:13:13 I'm in a barbershop looking like this. Like, I still wasn't over with it for a time because, and I always admired about the, you know, the character, Tommy's because he dealt with that for so many seasons on power, right, over and over again, and then it comes to this. I'm like, it takes some therapy. It takes some, you know, some aspect later on to be like, okay, let me let that go. It takes practice because it is deep. I'm still in therapy and you're talking to the right guys here who are advocates for it.
Starting point is 01:13:37 It's a cane and able dynamic to y'all relationship on the shoulder. It definitely is. I think so. I definitely think it's that that's a good analogy. Joe, if is there an end to the power universe? Like, have there been talks like to the end of Tommy's character? There's been talks. But I feel like in terms of the end of the power universe, I think that most talks are about expansion.
Starting point is 01:14:02 All right, where can we go next? You know, we're the only power show that takes place outside in New York. So that was kind of a big thing for them at this point, too. But then with 50s, other shows with Fightland coming out and in England, I feel like they're going to probably be thinking about a little bit of international expansion in some capacity through the power universe. And then I'm sure that they'll expand on stories in New York. like they are doing already in the origins story.
Starting point is 01:14:27 But I bet there will be more spin-offs that take place around NYC. Do you have an idea of what you would want the ending for Tommy? I know exactly what I would want the ending for Tommy. In fact, me and Gary Lennon are already starting to make an outline for a movie for a feature. That would be kind of possibly the final, final chapter. I love that. You're not going to tell us. That'd be hard.
Starting point is 01:14:51 No, he can't tell us. Listen, you know about this? I don't want this to be the first time. Listen, no. 50, every move I make that has anything to do with power, almost any move I make, anything he wants to know, he could know. But any move I make, if FIF is all, I always have, because it's responsible. Like, he's owed it because, yeah, because I'm a loyal, you know, friend or colleague or whatever.
Starting point is 01:15:16 But he's also owed it because he's owed it because he's an executive producer and a creator. So he's owed it twice, but I also, I always give the respect to Fills. because there's a good guy like he's been a good person of me a great person of me he's taught me a lot he sat down with me he's been accessible like i i realize how much i owe 50 and i'm grateful well definitely check out the final season of force make sure you check it out the first episode was last friday and we appreciate you brothers for joining us thank you so much thank you so jaccarra is christie lofton it's the breakfast club good morning good morning everybody we are the breakfast club on this tuesday let's get to the latest alarm Lauren becoming a straight fact She gets into somebody that knows somebody She gets the details
Starting point is 01:15:58 I'm the home girl that knows a little bit about everything She'd be having the latest on this The latest with Lauren La Rosa Sometimes you have facts Sometimes you have details Sometimes you have a little bit everything Well it's the latest On the breakfast club
Starting point is 01:16:12 Talk to me So Deb Antony Who is the former manager And business partner of Gucci Men And also Nicky Minage also Waka Flaka's mom She heard our Breakfast Club interview up here And she's responding to it
Starting point is 01:16:27 She did an interview with a hip hop and choir And take a listen to what Breakfast Club interview When we sat down with Gucci Man and Kea O'er I'm sorry When we sat down with Gucci Man and Keisha Kior And specifically she's responding To the part of the conversation
Starting point is 01:16:40 Where we talked about artists Giving Gucci his flowers And or not giving Gucci his flowers So let's take a listen to Deb on Kea Kior So did you see the breakfast club interview with like Gucci and Keisha? Oh, God. Unfortunately, yes. I can't begin
Starting point is 01:16:58 to tell you how many people sit me that. I don't follow the breakfast club, but I've had that sent to me by several people. That's not the brazen that I know. It just did not seem like him. In a million years, you wouldn't get to make me believe
Starting point is 01:17:15 that either he wasn't drugged up or something wasn't going on with him there. I don't feel like she should have came out nationally saying the stuff that she said about her husband. I don't think that that's for the world. That, like, sounds like somebody that wants attention and that threw her husband out on the chaplain block. I don't care what anybody's say. This ain't about them worrying about no damn mental health. This is worrying about people trying to be on top.
Starting point is 01:17:43 Yeah, I'm sorry. And she also spoke about the mental help, as you guys just heard. Now, another part of this interview, she talks about. the fact that... Can I just comment on that real quick? Please, go ahead. Evolve so hard that people have to get to know you all over again. Evolve so much that people don't even recognize you anymore.
Starting point is 01:18:00 That is exactly what life is actually about. You know, it's funny, you said that I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking that when you show that change, people won't believe it. People will criticize you, they will issue on your change because after that interview, right, everybody would say he was drugged up, he was
Starting point is 01:18:16 this, he was dad, he was next to his wife. I seen him a couple days later in Hampton, Virginia, where he performed. And Gucci was the same, calm, cool collective Gucci. He didn't have his wife around. He was with his crew, his security. It was the same.
Starting point is 01:18:31 All I see is a healed individual. He was a changed individual. All I see is a healed human that's still on a journey of healing. Like, that's all I see. And one thing is up here talking about his drug addiction back then and she said he was drugged up
Starting point is 01:18:46 during the interview. But when I see him in Virginia, Hampton, he came up to me and he said, I just want to say thank y'all. And I said, why, what's up? He said, because I shared my story. And he said, I know some people will joke and some people won't. He said, but people are actually reading the book and so many people are hitting me saying, hey, you're helping to change my life. I want to change my life for the better. I'm getting into therapy. I'm getting help. And he said that was the main focus. So the path of personal growth and development brings huge changes in your life. And yes, they go from the inside out.
Starting point is 01:19:19 Yes, you should not recognize me. I don't have... That's how you should evolve. Drop a bomb for Gucci once in a moment. But imagine after doing all that work, right, you being told that you drugged up. Right. Yeah, doing the work.
Starting point is 01:19:34 Like, I'm the best I've ever been. I'm my best self. I'm telling you all my story. And this is drugged up. That's crazy. Yeah, and K.R. has been... I mean, you guys have seen it. She's been getting a lot of things thrown her way
Starting point is 01:19:47 just because she's supporting and helping her husband. Just being his wife. Yeah. And Deb Antony also talked about what she went through with Gucci herself. Let's take a listen to that. I went through tons of stuff with him, and I'm not going to go through all of that now just because I don't deal with him.
Starting point is 01:20:03 I've never advertised anything. People never knew about none of that stuff. And I placed them in hospitals. I've done various things, and nobody ever knew nothing about it. And when she sat there and said, Oh, she wished that people would bring him up. Well, talk about me, because you wouldn't have him if it wasn't for me.
Starting point is 01:20:24 And that pissed me off when I seen that. My son always talk about Gucci. And Walker didn't come out when Gucci was on the stage. Walker was Gucci's hitter. It wasn't about him doing music with Gucci. That didn't happen. He didn't put Frick Montana out. He didn't put Nikki out.
Starting point is 01:20:42 I put Nikki on that stage. He never wanted her on the stage. That's really interesting. French. He robbed French. I'm tired of them taking away what I did. I got boxes and boxes of paperwork. Anytime they want to try me.
Starting point is 01:20:58 Yeah. You know he was up here promoting a book, right? That's why. He wrote a book. That's why. Yeah. I... Yeah. I'm pretty sure if somebody, like, asked him, I guess. You know, like, what, what was going on with you and that? You know, how is dead? Yeah, nobody asked him. Nobody asked him about
Starting point is 01:21:14 Deb. I mean, I do know Deb had a huge hand over a lot of the artists. And Deb put in a lot of work. Deb put in a lot of word. Deb had helped Gucci and his label and a lot of stuff. But we didn't ask about that.
Starting point is 01:21:25 But, right, Deb definitely did put in a lot of work. The question that you specifically asked, and we have it, we can play it if we want to, you asked about, you didn't ask,
Starting point is 01:21:33 you mentioned the different time that he had artists and if things would have been better if Kish Ki-R was with him. Let's take a listen to what was actually asked. You know, I look at Gucci. And if you really think about all the artists
Starting point is 01:21:45 that he has touched and could have signed. He could have been bigger than any label out there. If you go through him, we can go from Thug to Waka to the Migos. Yeah, Walker. Waka was sign. Yeah. Do you think if I was there, I could have helped them build that impact? A thousand percent.
Starting point is 01:21:59 We had this conversation many years ago. I said, Gucci, you just have to accept that you are not well and fix it. He had so many artists from back in the day. And because of this, they resigned with other people or whatever the situation is. And it pisses me off because none of them respects him or give him. the credit like Gucci signed me. Gucci's the one that got me out to slum. Gucci's the one that changed my life.
Starting point is 01:22:20 None of them talks about that. They don't acknowledge him. What would you like to see, Keisha? I would like them to acknowledge him, even if they win an award, acknowledge him because he gave you the stomping ground. Yeah, and that's what she was responding to Deb Antony was. I think in all of this, what it is,
Starting point is 01:22:38 is that people feel like, you know, they want their credit. I know Keogisha Kior wants it for Gucci and Deb Antony wants it for herself because everybody's putting in work. I understand both sides But when you say Like a shit says something
Starting point is 01:22:51 About like I did a lot of things Something but I didn't say anything I didn't you know Yeah this he wrote a book Like this is his book Yeah That's why it's being talked about And it's shedding light on his stories
Starting point is 01:23:02 To bring awareness for other men That's going through the same thing That's been the craziest part for me It's people turning this into everything But him helping people Through sharing what he's going through I'm proud of Gucci If y'all were to see Gucci
Starting point is 01:23:14 years ago. This is a totally different Gucci. I remember the video in the mall. He's evolved. He's a different human being. So seeing him here and then seeing them in the streets, he's a different Gucci. And I'm proud of it.
Starting point is 01:23:26 And I love to see the evolution. And all I know is if you see a person on a healing journey and you don't believe that they're actually on a healing journey, it just lets me know that maybe you might need some healing too because healed people see difference. I agree. I don't know if I'm healed enough to see the difference yet,
Starting point is 01:23:43 but I think that that's probably true. All right. Well, that's shoulder to Ashy. I've been wanting to tell you that all my day. First of all, my shoulder is not ashy. The one that's out because he always hate it. And shout out to Jvon James. This is his birthday to day too.
Starting point is 01:23:54 This is he designed this outfit. What about shout out to Avino? Avino leave me still dry. Shout out to Avino. Shout out to Avino is crazy. Oh my goodness. Give me some Gold Barn. Oh, happy birthday to Leonor.
Starting point is 01:24:07 Camprio, yo. Yes, one battle with another. All right. Well, that. Thanks, Lord. Germaine gives her lotion. Give me all this lotion. You need all this lotion.
Starting point is 01:24:16 You need all this lotion. I did. And be don't, don't. You don't get assy. Right. Well, thank you for the latest with Lauren. You're welcome. Donkey today.
Starting point is 01:24:24 We're giving that donker too. Four after the hour. We need a woman named Tiffany Rose Williams to come to the front of the congregation. We'd like to have a word with her, please. Okay. We'll get to that next. It's the preface. It's shining now.
Starting point is 01:24:34 You're trying to be a fake-ass charlemagne. Some donkey the days just saw themselves. Haven't watched me, Charlotte, man. What's ready for you. A donkey, baby. I never heard a donkey other day. What is it?
Starting point is 01:24:46 Say it again, Shaillamay. I'm a donkey. Yes, you are a dunk. Everything that's all the name is saying is true. Yes, donkey today for Tuesday, November 11th goes to a 42-year-old woman named Tiffany Rose Williams. Tiffany is from the Michigan area,
Starting point is 01:25:05 I believe, and she was arrested for stabbing a 19-year-old in the mall. Now I'm going to tell you right now. I saw this story, and I said immediately, I have to hear both sides. Okay, 42 years old, stabbing a 19-year-old in the mall. Hey, these Y-Ns be tripping sometime, all right? You go to the mall real quick, just want to run up in Sephora to get something that makes you smell good.
Starting point is 01:25:25 I'll go to Foot Locker to grab you some fresh dad's shoes, aka All-White Air Force Ones. If you want some new Tims for the fall, winter, you're just trying to be in and out real quick. And sometimes you run into one of these Y-Ns and you just got to let them know, hey, man, I'm just trying to unk trying to make it. I'm just an unc trying to make it home, okay? Most of the time, they respect that. But every now and then, one might try you. All right. So when I saw the age difference, that's the first thing I thought.
Starting point is 01:25:49 But that was wrong. Let's go to Fox Detroit for the report, please. Your store turned crime scene between the Nikes and New Balance. A teen is stabbed by a very angry woman in line whose card was declined. She's talking with Fox 2 from her hospital bed. I did get stabbed four times. I have a puckered lung right now. In the hospital for who knows how long.
Starting point is 01:26:12 for what? Sinaya Jenkins stabbed a kid's foot locker. Sinaya tells us she was walking by the sneaker store at Southland Mall and Taylor Wednesday and heard yelling at their register. Inside a 40-year-old woman's credit card was declined. Sinaias says she looked in, then the woman snapped at her. As the argument verbal, she put her hand in her purse and proceeded to tell me she was going to shoot me. Instead, pulling out a kitchen knife and stabbing Sinai, twice in the neck, once in the stomach and thigh. say a comment about the suspect being broke. Spurred the whole thing. But Sinaya says it wasn't her.
Starting point is 01:26:49 I am going to press charges, but it also saddens me in a way because I don't want her to be taken away from her kids. Damn. That's crazy. Why did news reporter say between the Nikes and New Balance? What that had to do it again? Did y'all hear that play that one more time, Ray?
Starting point is 01:27:06 What the head had to do anything? Kirstore turned crime scene between the Nikes and New Balance a teeny stabbing. What did that happen? Yeah, I don't think I would be wanting to mention it. I don't quit anything. I'm going to tell you right now, though, y'all better leave people to hell alone
Starting point is 01:27:21 when they're having financial issues, okay? Let me tell you something, man. I know y'all might look at the Dame Dash interview and, you know, see me clowning him, calling him broke, but I promise you, that was a special circumstance because of who he is and how he acts. Plus, according to him, he's not broke.
Starting point is 01:27:35 But one thing I don't do is shame nobody for being broke, especially when they are. That is a recipe for disaster. Not to mention, I know what it feels like to be broke. Okay, there is nothing funny about not being able to pay your rent, all right? I was broke way longer than I've ever had some coins, okay? I don't remember what time it was after I got fired. But one time after I got fired from radio, my wife was paying all the bills.
Starting point is 01:27:57 And we couldn't afford to pay everything without me having a check coming in. So we was getting evicted. And my wife had to go down to the courthouse and explain the situation to them, okay? There is nothing worse than not being able to pay your bills and you are grown human with kids. Okay, that's why I don't even understand. understand how people aren't truly grasping the plight of the federal workers in our country right now missing a paycheck could literally have you homeless okay and we live in this era where everybody wants to look the part i don't get me wrong people have always wanted to look like
Starting point is 01:28:24 they got money but social media has made it way worse okay because people don't have to deal with the reality of their situation as long as they can convince y'all online that they balling all right this is why i be telling kids all the time stop comparing yourself to these digital D-heads on social media. They're lying. Okay, you 23 years old trying to keep up with another 23-year-old who walks around taking pictures in front of other people's cars acting like it's this.
Starting point is 01:28:50 F out of here. Okay, now let me tell you something else. Sometimes you got it and your card declines, okay? My cards do that all the time for suspicious activity. Sometimes the place I'm at, their card reader may not be working. It's a whole bunch of reasons your card may decline. But if you in line somewhere and your
Starting point is 01:29:07 card declines and you hear someone behind you whisper, brook you? You got to, see, that's Jeff, you got to control your emotions, okay? What does your Uncle Shala always tell you? You got to do your jail math. Can you afford to commit the crime? Yeah, you're online, and your car declines, and you hear somebody laugh like Nelson on the Simpsons. You're going to feel away.
Starting point is 01:29:33 But if you can't afford what you buying at Kids Foot Locker, how are you going to afford this $250,000 bond you currently? got Tiffany. Usually you got to pay 10% where you're getting $25,000 from. Then you got to pay for a lawyer. Do you know how much a lawyer cost for an assault with intent to murder charge? Not to mention for lonious assault and assault with intent to
Starting point is 01:29:54 do great bodily harm. AI overview told me this morning that a lawyer for an assault with intent to murder charge in Michigan can cost anywhere from $20,000 to over $65, depending on the case's complexity and the attorney's experience. Larger firms may charge 45 to 65. Booth
Starting point is 01:30:11 Partique firms might charge 20 to 40, especially if the goal is a plea negotiation. Hourly rates for Michigan lawyers can range from approximately 159 to 442, and they want to up front retain a fee. All I'm simply saying is you got a lot of heavy charges, so you're going to have to spend a lot of heavy money that you do not have. Tell me how can you afford that when your car just got declined that kid's foot locker. You have to think before you make decisions. Life is about choices. Every decision, big or small, shapes your identity in future. There is no reason you go from card getting declined, the attempted murder.
Starting point is 01:30:44 But I'm going to tell you something. This is why in this era, you really, really got to practice kindness. Because folks is going through it, man. She didn't stab this woman because her car was declined. She stabbed this woman because she was fed up. Okay, she just in there trying to get some shoes for her kids, you know. And the woman she stabbed said she wasn't even the one clowning her. So that lets me know Tiffany was just hurt and in pain.
Starting point is 01:31:06 And she wanted to project that hurt and pain on whoever was in her progress. I want you all to be the kind of person who gives respect to the broke like they're already rich. In the heat of battle, your squad relies on you. Don't let them down. Starting point is 01:33:47 It's like not having it at all. It's a very simple, elegant lesson. Make something people want. First episode, how Southwest Airlines use cheap seats and free whiskey to fight its way into the airline business. The most Texas story ever. There's a lot of mavericks in that story. We're going to have mavericks on the show. We're going to have plenty of robber barons.
Starting point is 01:34:05 so many robber barons. And you know what? They're not all bad. And we'll talk about some of the classic great moments of famous business geniuses, along with some of the darker moments that often get overlooked. Like Thomas Edison and the electric chair. What does a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich reveal about the economy?
Starting point is 01:34:44 Our breakfast foods are consistent consumer staples, and so they sort of become outsize indicators of inflation. What's behind Elon Musk's trillion dollar payout? There's a sort of concerted effort to message that Musk is coming back. He's putting politics aside. He's left the White House. And what can the PCE tell you that the CPI can't. CPI tries to measure out-of-pocket costs that consumers are paying for things,
Starting point is 01:35:13 whereas the PCE index that the Fed targets is a little bit broader of a measure. Listen to the big take from Bloomberg News every weekday afternoon on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Okay, because they are rich in spirit, a lot of times. All right? Character isn't how you treat the rich,
Starting point is 01:35:31 it's how you treat the poor. And be careful when you see someone in a bad finance. financial situation. Okay, don't laugh, learn, because one thing about those tables, they always turn. Please give Tiffany Rose Williams the sweet sounds of the hamiltones.
Starting point is 01:35:45 Oh, now you are the donkey of the day. You are the donkey of the day. Yee-ha. The chat says, so we're not going to talk about the kitchen knife? I was going to ask that.
Starting point is 01:36:05 Yo, but it's the fact that the girl who got stabbed still didn't want the lady to suffer any consequences to be taken away from my children. She says she's about the press charges, I thought. She is, but she says she's conflicted by it, but the girl she stabbed isn't even the girl who was teasing. She probably do feel sorry for her situation. I can understand that.
Starting point is 01:36:25 She just snapped. Who walks around with a kitchen name? Somebody that's waiting to snap. Or somebody who can't afford a gun. Or somebody who don't have a real knife And they know they're going into, they might, that mall might be dangerous. I don't know. Tell me, Michigan, y'all tell me, is this, is this mall she was in dangerous?
Starting point is 01:36:43 I don't know. You want to play game? No, I don't. Oh, my God. You know what play game? No, I really don't. Let me alone. The chat won't play a game.
Starting point is 01:36:50 No, they don't. Ain't nobody in the chat said nothing. The chat said they want to play a game. The chat did not say they want to play a game. There ain't nobody in the chat saying that. Exactly. The chat actually is saying, no, we don't. See, let's play a game.
Starting point is 01:37:01 Let's play a game. I want to play. I want to play. All right, fine. You don't want to play game? No. Go play solitaire, so. All right.
Starting point is 01:37:08 Now, but let's open up the phone lines. 800585-105-1. What are some trigger words that will make you snap? Now, we recently had a guess up here that broke. Broke was another trigger word that damn that made him snap. What is a trigger word that makes me snap? Nothing, shaw. Nothing for you.
Starting point is 01:37:29 You might be right. Like from Lauren, Lauren, I was, what do you think Lauren's sugar word? Lauren Sugarberg might be wig No No Ashy Lauren is actually very cool Common Collective
Starting point is 01:37:42 Lauren don't let too much bother her I'm gonna be honest like I ain't seen Lauren let too much bother her to be honest with you I know you I got a bunch for you I got a long list of Triggerware's been in me I know I've been working with him for 15 years I know exactly what he said To get him going

Starting point is 01:38:20 Call 8005851051 to join in to the discussion with the breakfast club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envi. Jess O'Larius, Sholomane, the guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you're just joining us, Charlemagne gave Donkey the day to who? A young woman named Tiffany Williams. She's from the Michigan area.
Starting point is 01:38:39 Tiffany Rose Williams. She was in kids' foot locker, and her car declined, and somebody called her broke, and she went off and ended up stabbing somebody. Now she's charged with attempted murder. Yeah, they called the Brokey, and she got busy. So we're asking, what are some trigger words that really piss you off? So we asked the chat, right? And I think the chat responded with my trigger word is family.
Starting point is 01:39:00 You know, you play with my family. I think people know you play in my family. I'm going to jump. See, that's not a... I guess I'm confused, though, because I guess trigger words and triggering situations are different, right? If somebody plays with envy family, yes.
Starting point is 01:39:13 But, I mean, most people are going to react in that way. Like, I don't... Like, you can't just say family and then be going to turn into their, you know, the beige, incredible Greenhawk, you know what I mean? Nah. But they say, like, they say Jess got some, too. They say, just trigger words are big stud.
Starting point is 01:39:28 No, it's not. I love that. They said I ain't reading these Somebody said Shalda don't like the word cheating That's not true Like y'all be saying that
Starting point is 01:39:38 But we talk about that Because we have learned From our mistakes Yo but you know envy You don't like housing You don't Damn Damn
Starting point is 01:39:47 I don't mind that Okay I don't mind that Somebody in the chest Just because somebody Always trying Be funny or smart So it's like
Starting point is 01:39:54 No that don't bother me Somebody in the chat That I hate being told How I feel That is that That is something When somebody be like You mad.
Starting point is 01:40:00 You mad. Yeah, I know. Yo, I hate that so mad. Because you know you are, but you don't really want nobody else telling you that. Somebody said, uh, Shala's trigger is Dame Dash. It's not, though. They said, Jess Trigger is, uh, trans women. Damn!
Starting point is 01:40:18 That's right. That's true. That's true. That's true. That's true. They ain't even say that. They didn't even say that. They didn't even say that.
Starting point is 01:40:27 They didn't. No, they all say it. No, it's more of a trigger when somebody calls me that, not just them, period. Like, when one of them called me that, that's a trigger for me, like, shut up. I have to be. I will tell you all, the last time I was actually triggered, the last time I was actually triggered, somebody that I've been waiting to see to have a conversation with came up to me and accused me of saying something anonymous about them online.
Starting point is 01:40:59 like basically creating a fake page and leaving a comment about them and I was so triggered that this person would think I was such a sucker that I would get online to make an anonymous page to say something about them
Starting point is 01:41:14 as if I haven't been waiting to see this person and say what I needed to say to their face so that just really made me go off like I mean yeah it was it was bad like it was bad so you got triggered
Starting point is 01:41:29 because somebody basically called you a sucker yes because it's like you know I've been waiting to see this person and say what I needed to say to them because I love conflict that's my problem I actually like talking to people face-to-face so when this person said to me accused me of making an anonymous page to say something about them really I couldn't believe I was like we really think I'm that much of a sucker that I would make an anonymous page as opposed to saying what I need to say you can see how it's he's still told it down it so now I got to prove something
Starting point is 01:41:59 to you and me. So now I've got to tell you everything. I got to tell you exactly how I feel about you in this moment. Calm down, man. I can tell you, Tricky. That was just September. I'm still decompressing.
Starting point is 01:42:12 Damn. Hello, who's this? Ron, what's the trick of the word that bothers you, bro? What would get me? When I'm talking about it, it'll be a woman, but when I'm talking about my being numb and she say, oh, you're thirsty.
Starting point is 01:42:26 Oh, I'll be hot. When you, what? Oh, you sassy. You sassy, wow. Damn. Yo, come on, King. Sassy can't be your trigger. No, because it's like, I'm sassy because you're saying something to me
Starting point is 01:42:39 and now I said something back now. I'm sad. You got a little sassy. You got a little bit of a voice, bro. You see? Sassy is a funny word, depending on who it comes from. If a straight man call another straight man sassy, that's crazy. Yeah, that's crazy.
Starting point is 01:42:57 Because you might as well just go ahead and call me the next. 90s gay slur. Damn. Hello. Hello. Who's this? Hello. Hey, what's your name?
Starting point is 01:43:06 Get him, Gab. Get him Gab. Get him Gap. Get them Gap. Get them Gap. Get them Gap. I'm calling from South Carolina. I'm from Utahville.
Starting point is 01:43:14 Hey, what's up? Utahville. What's happening? So my trigger word is like attitude. I don't like when people say I got an attitude. Like, I got an R-BF face all the time. Do you? Do you be having an attitude, though?
Starting point is 01:43:27 No, I don't. Like, soon do you just. because I'm telling, but I hate me to have got an attitude. Like, I don't got an attitude. You sound like you got an attitude. You do sound like you got an attitude. You do sound like you got an attitude. Well, I'm kind of a little aggressive right now because, like,
Starting point is 01:43:40 when I'm having a good morning. Like, I'm good, but I was thinking about it when I heard y'all. Like, my trigger attitude. I hate when people said I got an attitude. Somebody tell what I ain't never heard of Utahville. I'm damn sure I heard of Utahville. My cousin married a woman from Utahville. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 01:43:53 800-585-105. And they probably be having attitudes. What's a trigger word that pisses you off? 800-585-105-105.1 is the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Salomey and the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. If you're just joining us, we're asking, what is a trigger word that really pisses you off? All right? This comes from Sholomey's donkey today.
Starting point is 01:44:17 Who gave Sholomey to, Sholomey? Tiffany Rose Williams. She was in a kid's foot locker, and her credit card got declined, and somebody in the store called her broke, so she ended up stabbing people. And, well, stabbing a person. And that person, you know, got stabbed. And she's been charged with a tempting murder. Jesus. So we're asking, what's your trigger word?
Starting point is 01:44:35 Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Tasha. Hey, Tasha. What's your trigger word that piss you off? Hey, calm down. I don't like when people tell me to calm down. That means you begin too late. Especially if I'm already calm.
Starting point is 01:44:49 Now you want me to take it there. What part of Charleston you're calling from? I'm calling from Louisiana. Oh, oh, New Orleans out here. I hear, I know I heard something. I heard either the, okay, I hear it, okay. If somebody in the chat agrees with you, they said, hey, Jess, how are you? Hey, girl.
Starting point is 01:45:05 Yeah, people in the chat agree with you. They say, calm down or relax. They said, relax, really, you know what I taste the worst. Yes, don't tell me that because I am calm. Now you want me to not be calm. And by the way, even if I'm not calm, let me fill my feels. Let me get this out real quick. Okay.
Starting point is 01:45:20 You know what I'm saying? Let me get it out. That's what my therapist say. My therapist said, get it out. Express your feelings. Let me get it out real quick. quick. Okay. All right. Damn, somebody on the chat said
Starting point is 01:45:31 Jess Trigger is Mexican? Wow. Ain't nobody say that on that day. How is that a trigger? Like, shut up, y'all. Exactly. Why are you going off? Why are you mad right now? Relax, Jess. Calm down. Yeah, this is you brought Brendan out of Jacksonville, Florida. Hey, what's up, brother? What's your trigger word?
Starting point is 01:45:50 So it's not so much as a word more than it's referencing my child. you bring up the kid and it's over yeah that's family that same with me I get it I'll jump I'm telling you we could be at a funeral anything real you invoke the name of my child
Starting point is 01:46:06 and I got more than the kitchen knife but see we gotta we gotta have a high emotional IQ man you know what I'm saying you can't react to everything that's true and I think people know those are the trigger words
Starting point is 01:46:20 they always go to it you know somebody in the chat said my trigger is bleach I'm gonna be honest with y'all man And, and this going to sound crazy, I really be wanting to feel sometimes. Like, I really, like, none of this stuff, none of this stuff bothers me in no way, shape, or form. Hello, who's this? It's Lydia.
Starting point is 01:46:38 Lydia. Lydia, what's your trigger word? I'm from Houston. My trigger word is sweetie. I don't like young girls calling me sweetie. Oh, okay. That can't, yeah, that doesn't fly with me. Good morning, y'all, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:46:52 What about growing men? No, neither one of them. It's just always been like that with me I don't know why that triggers me But it does Especially the young ones When they 30 and they call sweetie Because they don't, yeah
Starting point is 01:47:03 They don't fly Well thank you for calling I'm better now because I'm older though Thank you for calling sweetie All right thank you sweetie She's about to go crazy Hey somebody in the chat says Shalermaine Trigger is popular people
Starting point is 01:47:17 When somebody like one person too much What That one should be Drake That's a trigger where Drake Hey, yo, Drake is, yeah, that's funny. No, that ain't a trigger, but I do be like, all right, now y'all glazing a little too much. Everybody back away from the cuck now.
Starting point is 01:47:33 Whoa. All right. It's only one saddle. You can't say that. What's going with you? Right? Damn. Because sometimes, man, people be wanting to saddle up on one person too much, man.
Starting point is 01:47:44 Saddle up, yo. Really? Stop all that D-riding, man. Relax. Jesus Christ. What's the moral of the story? The moral of the story is control your triggers, man. Y'all need therapy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:53 That's the moral of the story. And I hate the chat, man. This chat is crazy. Y'all, I think it's hilarious. Y'all are crazy. I think it is hilarious. Oh, my goodness. But, you know, one good way to control your triggers, I'll joke aside.
Starting point is 01:48:03 You got to practice, like, you know, grounding techniques. Like, you got to do deep breathing. And, like, before you react, just pause sometime. Like, no, we don't pause. Like, when you hear something, just be like, hmm. What you mean by that? You know what I'm saying? Let's let it process in your head for a little bit.
Starting point is 01:48:21 And always do your jail math. I'm trying to tell you. You're jail map or keep you out of jail. They said Breakfast Club production team is your trigger. Oh, my God. You're right. But that's not a word. He said, you're right, but that's not a word.
Starting point is 01:48:32 You're right. That is definitely a word. Oh, my goodness. All right. When we come back, we got the latest with Lauren, so don't go anywhere. It's the breakfast club. Somebody said, CTG, you need to pause more. No, I actually think before I speak.
Starting point is 01:48:44 That's the problem. Ladies with Lawrence next is the Breakfast Club. The Breakfast Club. She gets them from somebody that knows somebody. She gets to detail. I'm a home girl that knows a little bit about everything. She'd be having the latest on this. The latest with Lauren LaRosa.
Starting point is 01:49:06 Sometimes you have facts, sometimes you have details, sometimes you have a little bit of everything. Well, it's the latest. On the breakfast club. Talk to me. All right, guys. So I want to just really quick mention at the top of the hour that Michael Jackson has now made history as the first artist to score
Starting point is 01:49:23 Hot 100 top 10 hits in six different decades. So the decades are the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. So at the top of 2020, I can't see it never stopping. No, it won't. No, because every year, basically. Especially with Thrillo, Halloween time.
Starting point is 01:49:41 Literally. So the Billboard article that I read that list out different songs, not all of them, but just some songs and how they've hit certain things because around Halloween time, a lot of those songs, especially Thriller Upticks. Like they specifically mentioned Thriller. So you're going to see this. Thriller is the Halloween with Mariah Carey.
Starting point is 01:49:57 All I want for Christmas is the Christmas. Yes, 100%. And I'm going to tell you something. I cannot wait for Michael Jackson's biopic. And the crazy thing about Michael Jackson's biopic, there's going to be a whole generation of people who are going to watch that biopic and don't believe any of it. Why not?
Starting point is 01:50:11 Because y'all not going to realize how big he was. Everybody likes to compare people to Michael Jackson. There is no Michael Jackson comparison. There is nobody. I ain't not no Taylor Swift. God bless him. Not no Beyonce, God bless her. Not knowing being a young boy, not Crick Brown.
Starting point is 01:50:27 None of them. To this day, Michael was different. It still gives you that feeling. The other day I was in here trying to do the moonwalk because I just had seen it. What? You know, you understand Michael Jackson is one of the most famous people that ever lived, period.
Starting point is 01:50:37 I'm talking about like, it's like Jesus. Michael Jackson, like, I'm not even joking. You can go look at a list that show that. He was different. Jesus and then Michael Jackson. Actually, it might be Michael. No, you better stop it. We'll say Jesus ain't ever have to help.
Starting point is 01:50:52 I don't think there's anybody bigger than Michael Jackson. Like the Bible ain't the biggest. The Bible slaps, girl. No, you're talking about that. The Bible slaps is bestseller. No, I'm talking about it. World's bestseller. IMDB says Walt Disney is number one.
Starting point is 01:51:07 Michael Jackson is number two. As would. The most famous, world's most famous people. There's a bunch of different lists. Not Walt. Nobody's not Walt like that. Yeah, maybe Disney World, but I think Michael Jackson is bigger than Disney World. Maybe Mickey Mouse, but not Walt.
Starting point is 01:51:19 Mickey ain't got nothing to do with Mike. Michael shut Mickey down right now. Absolutely. Well I'm You done Okay great I just wanted to move on
Starting point is 01:51:28 Well in other news Speaking of famous people The generation do Michael No I just got We got a lot to get to In this hour We didn't spend a lot of time You can go if you want to
Starting point is 01:51:37 I'm gonna try to reminisce Okay Well another news Speaking of famous people So yesterday Well no let's do this So Mario and Omarion There is not been a back and forth
Starting point is 01:51:49 Ish but now there actually is one So y'all remember Mario was on Funky Friday with Kim Newton and he was asked who can sing who can't sing, right? And he talked a bit about Mario. Let's take, I mean, about Omarion, let's take a listen to Mario on Omarion on Cam Newton. I said
Starting point is 01:52:03 every singer can't sing. I will give you a list of artists and you will say if they can or can't. All right, cool. Omario. If he hit or miss for me sometimes. Bobby Valentino. He can sing. Last but not least, Chris Brown. He can sing. Yeah, so Omarion
Starting point is 01:52:20 was on Sway's Universe with Sway, Heather B, Tracy G. And he was asked about, you know, that comment. And if he would do music with Mario at this point, let's take a listen. Well, I enjoyed the verses. I know that was a long time ago that Jewett and Mario did. Since then, a lot of just that kind of turbulence has come up. But I dare say, man, we're entering a whole new age.
Starting point is 01:52:40 It's better that we work together than work divided. Under those circumstances, would you ever be willing to do work with him, you know? I'm not sure. I don't think so. Okay. I don't think so. Um, you know, I think that for me, it's all about respect. You know, I think you can have your opinion, but, you know, the moment I feel like there's no respect there, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:53:03 Yeah, I'm, I'm cool. I'd rather step back. Hmm. Yeah. I don't think it's, I don't think it's respect there. Okay. You know what I'm saying? Especially for, uh, somebody like me that has been doing it before him.
Starting point is 01:53:16 That one question has caused a lot of fallout. But, but I understand what he's saying, though. I get it. what he's saying I get you know like like don't play with me man that's what I do even if I can't sing to you like you know what I'm saying I don't know because because Cameron Mario was being funny I watched the whole the thing they it was while it's still his opinion and you know all of that people's voices are subjective like you can you can clearly see that they plan too like they really plan around and Michael Jackson sold a hundred million records y'all
Starting point is 01:53:46 oh you back to MJ because I mean I think because you're trying to make the point that regard They're never going to get there? That was good, Jess. No, I'm just saying Michael Jackson. I already know, Evie. Thank you. Y'all know what Charlemagne be on every time we bring up like a Michael Jackson or whatever. He always be like, y'all don't know celebrity.
Starting point is 01:54:03 Y'all ain't never seen real celebrity. Yes, he do. And I get it. But like, what are we going to do? MJ was just different. We're doing the best we came with what we got. MJ was just different. I'm looking at the top 10 most famous people of all time list.
Starting point is 01:54:15 They got Jesus number one and Michael Jackson number two. Why are you glazing MJ this morning? That's why I stayed. That's just telling them. I saw While they tweet this and y'all, you just mentioned some of these people, he was saying how fire it is that in a lot of these new generations
Starting point is 01:54:29 they're comparing people to Michael Jackson because then we have to have this conversation about how famous and how successful Michael Jackson actually was and the new generation is because they didn't know right, they didn't know the impact that Michael Jackson has so there, it's how we speak about Michael Jackson, they look at a, I guess. Have you seen the trailer for the
Starting point is 01:54:45 biopic? Yes, yes, we did. Yes, of course. Oh, it's going to be great. Isn't that you going to kill it? Uh-huh. A hundred percent. I can't wait to see it. So, oh, this is a positive way to end the hour. So, Tyrese, Tyrese is working with Reach Out Worldwide, which is an organization that was created by Paul Walker. And they are currently, you know, getting together a ton of different supplies.
Starting point is 01:55:09 And he told me it's a huge warehouse. Like, it's like a huge warehouse. They're filling up this warehouse and then they're going to be flying a cargo plane over to Jamaica to bring some supplies there. And he wanted us to let people know that it's happening. and I have an address where you can send some things to as well. Let's take a listen to Tyrese. He's on an airline or he's on the plane with a woman from Jamaica who's helping them organize the efforts.
Starting point is 01:55:29 And he's doing this also with Mona Scott. Let's take a listen. We're at capacity and we need everybody to go to ROWW.org, reach out worldwide and donate so that we can load up a cargo plane. And you know a lot of people with private plane because you're a flight attendant, right? Yes, I am. And there's some people that could also donate their plane to get some type of efforts over to Jamaica, your country where you're from.
Starting point is 01:55:53 So listen, people, donate if we can. As you guys know, Jamaica has gone through something very catastrophic. Melissa has really done a number on us. And so every little big counts right now. Thankful that Tyrese is coming and bringing attention to this. But this is like so extensive that it's just not even about this moment. It's something that's going to be over time. So we'd just like for you guys to just also lock in with him, stay abreast of what's happening,
Starting point is 01:56:16 not just here, but on the ground. And just think of all the ways in which you could help. day-to-day stuff and also the very big things money prayers donations and just spreading awareness i don't have nothing to say thank you by the way the accent it's magic salute to tyrese dropping a clue bomb the tyrant yeah and i also wanted to mention here too that i saw siza is doing a hundred meals a day for families with uh with uh john and veney's as well um i saw that and she's doing that from november 11th to the 18th um and that address if you guys want to support he It says the address to the warehouse in Miami where you can send things is 377 Northwest 170th Street in Miami, Florida.
Starting point is 01:56:56 And all this information you can find on the R-O-WW website that he mentioned as well, too. I love it. Also, I want to say one thing. I want you all to know that when you talk about these celebrities who you all think have gotten conspired against and, you know, just a plan to bring them down and putting allegations against them, Michael Jackson is one of those people. I absolutely believe that that happened to it. 100% because Michael owned
Starting point is 01:57:20 half of Sony ATV music publishing. What? He sure did. Can't know. It ain't no one black man regardless of what his skin did later on in life. No, but you can't have all that power? And you mentioned that trailer too. They broke the record.
Starting point is 01:57:35 So they did that trailer just the views at 116.2 million views within the first 24 hours. They beat out Taylor Swift and Bob Marley who held a record. I can't wait to see it. It's going to look. Flex Washington about to go crazy. He in this one, right? No, he flex is not in this one, man.
Starting point is 01:57:49 It's going to look mythical, yo. Watch when this movie come out. Y'all going to be like, damn, somebody like that actually lived? I can't wait to see it. In modern times, watch. It's Jafar Jackson, just. Okay, all the mix is up next. Let's get to it.
