It is Tuesday. Good morning, how y'all feel out there.
Starting point is 00:02:23 I feel blessed black and highly favored. Happy to be here, another day to serve our beautiful listeners. Good morning. Good morning. How are you feeling, Jess? I feel good. The streets look better. I had a nice, smooth, I had a much smoother ride than I did yesterday.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Yeah? Coming in here, yeah. This is the most empty. Discussing to me. Yeah, I know, but it was a lot more slippery pause than it was. Yesterday. This morning yesterday. Yeah, it was a lot.
Starting point is 00:02:45 They cleared it out a lot. It's still trying to cross streets is difficult. Yeah. That's like Olympics, like Winter Olympics. Exactly. And then there's no entryway to get into no type of building. And then the little side streets, I feel sorry for anybody. They had to go down the side streets yesterday.
Starting point is 00:02:58 It was wild getting out of New York back into Jersey. I feel bad for anybody that got plowed in, pause, and their car was stuck. Yeah. Oh, my God, yeah. Digging their car out. And then the plow comes right back. I feel bad for all you punk-ass kids
Starting point is 00:03:11 who don't know how to get no money, man. I was out there yesterday, you know what I'm saying? Because I had to clear up around the garage. And so I'm clearing up around the garage. And all I kept thinking to myself was, this is money. Okay? And y'all got more, you know, better tools than we had. My dumbasses just out there with a regular show.
Starting point is 00:03:26 I saw Jim Jones on this. Instagram with like some type of electric shovel. You hit the snow. And it go up. You know what I mean? Electric shovel. Yeah. And it was just moving.
Starting point is 00:03:36 You know, you can go get you a snowblower for an affordable price. Y'all kids is out there not making no money. You see how we talk about how the streets is all like the snow is piled up high and there's no pathway. You know how many a couple dollars doing that? Well, that's a kid. That's what we used to do in Queens because everybody's car would be stuck. So we wouldn't give like a hundred dollars. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Somebody give you $20. Dig me out. You do about 10 of those, that's $200. Y'all should look at that snow the way Giza used to look at cocaine. Okay, when you see them mounds and mounds of that white powdery stuff, that's money. Okay, go move it. And all you got to do is really just walk around with a shovel.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Somebody's going to come to you. That's it, man. Just walk around with a shovel. It's going to come right to you. Hey, hey, hey, how much you charge? How much you want? You can move that dope. All right, that snow is dope out there.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Y'all out here in these streets, y'all out there in these streets with all this snow and y'all ain't even getting to the paper? But in New York City is kind of crazy because what do y'all do you all? that snow. I see the big containers that the plow people keep putting in the big ass containers. But we usually just wait for it to melt. Yeah, but it's like... We're just stacked it up high and just wait for it to melt and then you just watch it just slowly melt. It's too much snow. It's too many people in New York City for all of this snow. I'll tell you one thing. I was out there and my back started hurting and I was like, look,
Starting point is 00:04:46 that's the best I can do. Hey, man, some Mexicans pulled up in the plow truck and they hopped out with the shovels. I was about to tell you. I got some people. I'll say something. I'll say something Donald Trump never say welcome on in. Welcome on it. I was going to say they pulled up in the plowed truck and they had the shoveled. I said y'all can do that for me? Of course. I said.
Starting point is 00:05:10 They got to it. You hear me? I don't even think I got a shovel anymore. They know my number. They got a shovel. I got me. They come immediately. What are your peoples, Nive? What do you say? They're your people's. Your cousins. They're my people's by marriage. They're your people's. They're your
Starting point is 00:05:26 people's. They're your people's. They're family. You know what? Let's get the show cracker. We got front page news. Mimi's actually here. I don't know why Mimi would leave California, that nice 70-degree weather. Well, you know, Mimi originally from Alaska.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Yeah. She wanted to feel like she home. This ain't nothing. Yeah, she heard it was colded in Alaska and head in New York. She was like, oh, I got to get that. She got on the tape top and the lunch. I ain't wore this cold in a long time. I got to.
Starting point is 00:05:48 All right, we got front page news when we come back. Don't move. It's the breakfast club. We ain't got no. Man, it's John with his phone birthday. It is. Heavy birthday. I just connected to the docs.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Oh, Ice Cube. There you go. Today was a good day. There you go. That's the breakfast of the morning. All right. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Jess Hilary. Shalamey and the guy, we are to breakfast club. Let's get some front page news. What's up, Mimi? Mimi Brown. Hey, girl. Good morning, everyone.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Okay. So we start this morning in Minnesota, where new developments are unfolding in Minneapolis after that deadly weekend shooting
Starting point is 00:06:24 involving federal agents. Now, the response from federal officials appears to be shifting after growing scrutiny and legal challenges. The focus remains on that fatal shooting, though, of Alex Prettie, a 37-year-old Minneapolis resident, an ICU nurse who worked at a VA hospital. Now, Freddie, he was shot and killed Saturday during a federal immigration operation. He was seen recording agents on his phone bystander video. We've all seen it shows him helping a woman who had been pushed to the ground.
Starting point is 00:06:53 He's then pepper sprayed and shot within seconds. Now, federal officials now confirm the agents involved were wearing body cameras and a video from multiple angles is being reviewed by investigators. And there's also changes on the ground. So Greg Levino, the border control commander overseeing the Minneapolis operation, he has now been demoted and is expected to leave the city today. And several of those roughly 2,000 agents deployed under him are also expected to withdraw today. Now, as a video continues to circulate, the political fallout is growing, including among Republicans. At least 29 GOP members of Congress are now calling for a full investigation. And Texas Senator Ted Cruz, he is warning that rushing to label incidents like this can hurt credibility.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Let's listen to what he had to say. What I think the administration could do better is the tone with which they're describing this. That immediately when an incident like this happens, they come out guns blazing, that we took out a violent terrorist, hooray. Escalating the rhetoric doesn't help, and it actually loses credibility. And so I would encourage the administration to be more measured, to recognize the tragedy, and to say we don't want anyone's lives to be lost, and the politicians who are pouring gasoline onto this fire, they need to stop.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Yeah, and investigate the situation and fire and hold accountable to ICE agents who are out here beating and killing people. And speaking of people who are pouring gasoline on fires, they're also growing calls to impeach Homeland Security Secretary, Christy Knoem. Of course. Yep. Over how her department, they describe the shooting. Language critics say does not line up with the video.
Starting point is 00:08:34 She's now scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 3rd. And when asked about the criticism White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt, she tried to distance the president from the rhetoric. Let's listen to what she had to say in that exchange. The Secretary Nome said Alex Pretti committed an act of domestic terrorism. Stephen Miller labeled Pretti a domestic terrorist. Does the president agree with them? Look, as I've said, I have not heard the president characterize Mr. Pretti in that way.
Starting point is 00:09:01 However, I have heard the president say he wants to let the facts and the investigation lead itself. Was he alarmed to hear his top officials referring to him in that way, rushing to that judgment? Trump said no. I'm not with this. Authoritarian regimes are not loyal to anybody. Christy Noam, they're getting you out of here because somebody. going to be the fall guy for all this blood in the streets and it's going to be you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:22 And speaking of President Trump, he has spoken with Minnesota governor, Tim Walls, Minneapolis, Mayor, Jacob Fry. They reportedly had a great conversation, according to Trump, and they are agreeing, Trump agreed that the situation cannot continue. The White House says that now with Bovino out, the borders are Tom Homan is headed to Minneapolis today to manage operations and continue talks with local leaders. Listen, man, political movements that normalize anti-divisement. democratic behavior will eventually always face pushback. Okay, legal,
Starting point is 00:09:53 cultural, institutional, it never fails. Yeah. All right. Well, that is front page news. All right. Really quick coming up at seven. There's a trial that begins today that's going to change the rules or could change the rules of social media. We'll break down what's at stake in some of your favorite apps. All right. And everybody else, get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:10:11 800-585105.1. If you need to vent, phone lines are wide open. Again, 800-58151. Call us up right now is the breakfast club. Good morning. Wake up, wake up. With your ass. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you are mad or blessed, we want to hear from you on the breakfast club. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:10:31 Hey, hey, what's so, Indy? What's up, Trap? Hey, no, chilling, chilling. What's on, Jeff, baby? Hey, boy. I'm, my bed, I was ready to say, hey girl, but I'm so sorry. Same difference. Listen, how did you talk to you were about to say so.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Hey, girl, hey, sir. What's up, sis? How are you? Hey, first of all, we're on Netflix now. Don't be calling me since. I'm DL. I'm DL. It ain't nothing DL about you, bro.
Starting point is 00:10:56 It's your trap. There ain't nothing DL about you. Okay, you are internationally known booty snatches. My mama might be listening. Don't me tell her my business. Okay, I'm DL. Your mama don't know you gave for a real draft? Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:09 His mama know he gave. He can't hide. Oh, I don't know. I don't be. Yeah. Okay. But, y'all, I was going to stay real quick. We have a public service announcement.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Stop coming to the gym. If you must be, and if you're going to be musty, don't be standing next to me because someone that might take is me. It ain't nothing worse than working out. You're over here lifting up dumbbells, arms, to smell it you got an onion in the headlock. Don't just stop it.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Trave, I'm going to tell you something. If you're in the gym and somebody comes in there musty in this winter weather, you should call the proper authorities. Like, you really just got to call law enforcement. You smell a little. Something ain't right, bro. It's dirty. No, it's doing so much yesterday
Starting point is 00:11:49 But y'all I'm proud of y'all I mean we made it to Netflix I made sure I went and you know Watched a couple episodes I definitely dropped 20 episodes already Yeah It was a lot
Starting point is 00:12:00 And they put it out They put it out a little too late It came out late But we're working on all of that We're working all of that We're working all the Kinks out It's good All right
Starting point is 00:12:08 We're on Netflix y'all Bye Bye Hello who's this This is a security Security Officer Manuel security officer You said you're laughing
Starting point is 00:12:20 with Prosecco I mean he's Perceco like the wine San Pan Pan Pacheco like the football player I don't know who that is Pacheco Kansas City T's
Starting point is 00:12:30 All right get it off your chest brother Not familiar Okay so I want to call I want to call in about the All the negative press Ice agents are getting You know It's an unfortunate thing
Starting point is 00:12:44 In our in our society what's happening just throughout the country. You know, I don't condone people being killed, murder, but I do want to say that there is something called the use of force continuum, okay? And I don't know if people are aware of that, but when someone is in a vehicle, okay, they are considered to be in operating a deadly weapon.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Now, if an agent is in front of that vehicle moving to the side and the vehicle moves, okay, the use of force continuum allows and permits an ice agent or a security officer to use deadly force. I thought that's only if the vehicle was coming towards them. Well, it's if it moved. I didn't know if it was if it moved. I thought it had to move in their direction. Now, no, you know, it has to be in their direction. it on, but it
Starting point is 00:13:45 could be at an angle. If the person is not cooperating with an ICE agent or a security officer or a police officer, then that agent or that officer can use force and use deadly force.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Well, listen, in the case of Renee Good, she was going the opposite direction, and in the case of Alex Purdy, he wasn't even being aggressive. So I don't know what point you're trying, I don't know what point you're trying to make. Right. And I never heard a security officer been added to the cops in agents, but also the suspect will have to pose an immediate credible threat or serious injury, meaning if that officer who did not get hit after shooting, could have stepped one inch to the side?
Starting point is 00:14:27 Right, but they were in a residential area, okay, and she's operating a deadly weapon. She was already indicated to stop. You're giving me a headache, man. Listen, listen. She was already indicated to stop. You're giving me a headache, bro. She was actually told to leave. I mean, she was actually told to leave, to be honest with you. And that's why, like, you know, listen, man, we can argue about values. We can argue about policies. But we can't.
Starting point is 00:14:50 She was being the same. I thought she was getting told the leave. No, at first she was told him, she started moving, and then they told her to stop. But if you read your book, it says if an officer is allowed to shoot, well, you know, because he's an officer. Well, he's a security guard. And he's putting security guard with officers, which you can't. But anyway, if a police officer is allowed to shoot when they have the option to, if their option to get out the way does not happen. If the officer has the option to get out of the way,
Starting point is 00:15:14 meaning the suspect poses an immediate credible threat, then you can shoot. And that officer wasn't in any immediate danger. Yeah, we can argue about values and we can argue about policies, but we can't argue about shared facts, bro. We all got the same eyes. Well, sounds like he wants to be an agent.
Starting point is 00:15:28 But get it off your chest. 800-585-105-1. If you need the vent, hit us up now. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. It's a new day. This is your time to get it off your chest. Wait!
Starting point is 00:15:38 Wake up! Whether you're mad or blast. It's time to get up and get up. Get something. Call up now. 800-585-105-1. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:15:50 Hey, this is Tiffany. What's your name? Tiffany. Good morning. Tiffany. How long? Good morning. So I'm from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:16:01 And I've been trying to call just to call up to bring the awareness. You guys have such a big platform that Minneapolis is doing really good at seeing people here. There's so much more that's going on here. There's not shown on the news, but not shown online. You have a lot of people online getting, like, snooking for stuff, right? But, like, that night that was killed. I actually lived a block away and got stuck in because the man that's trying to get out,
Starting point is 00:16:30 because I live two blocks down straight from that. Right. Go back the other way where Ms. Girl was killed, I worked for the kids from there. So for me, I see this all day. I can look at my office window and see them taking people down. And looking at you, looking at them out of the window. You know, it's very intimidating. It's very aggressive.
Starting point is 00:16:53 But I didn't want to call and put it out here. You have this doing an amazing job and being people and staying clear of these people. We're avoiding the people that we're going left because they want you to engage. And I didn't want to say for other states because I got with me yesterday, we're having a conversation in that the vital, whatever his meaning, is losing. But that doesn't mean if they're not going to go to another state. And so it's essential that in every state, they follow kind of what they're doing here because if you choose to get valid,
Starting point is 00:17:31 then it's going to be a problem. Okay. You don't want him to indirect to do the Inurrection Act, because that cost us to the war and those are like kind of big ones and first I thought I have too much but experience with it's not too much well thank you Tiffany and we appreciate you being out there
Starting point is 00:17:49 in the streets too absolutely and I want to salute the native land podcast Angela Rye and Andrew Gillum and Baccari Sellers they're going to be in Minnesota today going to live town hall from the Capri Theater and they'll be broadcasting that on their YouTube page at 7 p.m. CST what's CST Central Standard
Starting point is 00:18:05 So what time is that Eastern? Easton. That's two hours behind. There's two hours behind. Boy, I don't ever come to this room from back. Hello, who's this? Good morning. This is Tony.
Starting point is 00:18:16 What's up, Tony? Good morning, Tony. I'm calling from Kelly. I just wanted to call and tell you all. I've been listening to y'all for like nine and ten months, ma'am. And I just love y'all. We love you back. I only have been listening for nine or ten months.
Starting point is 00:18:29 We only been around for 15 years. I know. Listen. Salome. Don't do that. It's early in the morning. Duh. That's the reason you keep listening
Starting point is 00:18:41 because we do stuff like this early in the morning. But we're happy that you all been listening in the last two months. Absolutely. Yes, thank you so much. Thank you. I'd be at work. They'd be like, what you're listening to?
Starting point is 00:18:49 I'll be like the breakfast club. You got to get on point. And what are you calling from? Philly. Oh, Philly. Shout out to Philly. To go to Philly, man. Got mad love for Philly.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Wait a minute. I got one more thing to say. Can I see one more thing? Yes, man. You don't see the Courtney HAC on there yet? That what is that? Yes, the court and the act episode
Starting point is 00:19:08 With envy That was a classic one Yes That was a good one Oh that's the one Wendy Williams He had been on there like two times Which one you're talking about
Starting point is 00:19:16 With big sexy That's the one I thought Oh my goodness And his die And his die kept coming off a shirt Oh my goodness That was so freaky funny So y'all was rubbing die on each other's shirts
Starting point is 00:19:26 It was not rubbing die He was going through He lost his man And he was hurt And I was trying to help the brother That's not what Wendy Williams Told me That he almost there
Starting point is 00:19:34 had a heart attack That's not what we Wendy Williams told me. Wendy Williams. Look, you probably love y'all. Right here. Wendy Williams told me, she said, what's up with Envy?
Starting point is 00:19:43 I saw him on a show and his boyfriend was leaving him and he was trying to catch his boyfriend cheating. And I was like, what? I said, yeah, that's not right. Yeah, that's not true. But, you know, I love that show.
Starting point is 00:19:54 You know what? The weirdest people will stop me and say, yo, I've seen you on that. Yes. Trying to get your boyfriend guys. It was not. Tony, thank you so much. And if you weighed in boots
Starting point is 00:20:03 that you got on the day, they definitely think you're trying to get your Not wrong on my boots, man. Lauren, I like my boots. Let me see your boots. Let me look at them. Yes, how you? I'm actually, they're a little saucy and sassy, but I love them.

No, you look like one of the Tehattas. No. He looked like you want to skip down the intersection with a big sex. Yes, you definitely give Tehada.
Starting point is 00:20:33 He has Big Sexy. Be skipping in that intersection about to get hit by God. Big sexy. This is what you're in when it's cold outside. Okay. He got them same boots. He got them same boots. He got them same boots.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Oh my goodness. That's a fashion. Replaced the S. With something. Get it off your chest. 835-105-1. We got the latest with Laura coming up. We do.
Starting point is 00:20:54 There's a lot of people that do not believe Kanye West's apology. And I got some exclusive details. I don't talk to some people. I might be able to convince y'all. You got some sources? Yeah, I got some sources. this night. All right.
Starting point is 00:21:05 We'll get to that next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Can we let your talk, L.L. Cubey. Yeah. I'm not dumbering myself. Damn, I'm being myself. Take me through that.
Starting point is 00:21:14 That source is tough. I'm the home guy that knows a little bit about everything and everything. The little brown girls look at you and go, I want to be like you. Take me through that. Where she's gone? The latest with Lauren Lewis. Take me through that. On the breakfast club.
Starting point is 00:21:29 L.L.Cube. Talk to me. Come on, L.L. Coolbe. All right, y'all, So yesterday, as we were on air, it was breaking that Kanye West had paid for an ad or, you know, took up some space in the Wall Street Journal. And he wrote a letter apologizing to the black and Jewish communities. Talked a lot about his mental health and, you know, the things that he's been going through and how he, you know, has been through these manic episodes.
Starting point is 00:21:53 Now, because... And I'm the only one that believed it. I'm the only one that believed it. I believe it. I believe it. I'm the only one that believed it. I know he... So bully...
Starting point is 00:22:01 I did believe it. Bullie his music is... I believed it until I heard it. that allegedly that he got an album coming out. Well, okay. Oh, yeah. But it's not true. But yes.
Starting point is 00:22:10 So, uh, bully was supposed to drop Friday, but I mean, I know you guys, you said that you heard something different. I heard it's coming out in March. Okay. Yeah, but also too, you know, Kanye Weston, we've talked about this. It's supposed to be going back out on the road soon. So a lot of the conversation around this apology is he's only doing this because he wants some money from us now.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Now, I reached out to Kanye West's team. I spoke to, uh, Peter, who is on. Kanye West management team yesterday. And I asked them plain and simple. Like, you know, people don't believe this because of the timing. Is this a part of a rollout because of what I was told? And he said to me, this letter is something that Yeh has been crafting for a while. It comes from a genuine statement that he has been working on for a long time, not weeks, but months.
Starting point is 00:22:53 So he's saying that Kanye West has been working on this apology for months. I had also heard yesterday that Kanye West was in a situation right now where he is shopping himself and, you know, the project to release under a major record label. And I asked about that. And in response to that, they said they wouldn't confirm or deny that, but they said that it's not a part of a rollout with a major label in reference to what I asked. But my source is really good. And from what I was told, it's going to be a distribution situation that Kanye West is basically at the finish line.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Like, it's basically done that he's doing to release bully whenever it comes out in all his music moving forward, which, you know, is a thing for Kanye because he's talked about going against the major. And even though it's distribution, so it's a bit different. The company I'm told he's doing it with, they compete very well. I heard it's gamma with the major label. And it's not his first apology, number one. And the reason that I looked at it as sincere was the fact you ain't heard from Kanye in about a year. You ain't heard nothing from Kanye.
Starting point is 00:23:49 Not a peep, no tweets, no nothing. So that led me to believe, hey, you know, maybe he's really doing some real work on this. I mean, I hope so. And don't tell us show us. Like, we want to see the change, right? Absolutely. Yeah. And we got to see what happens in the next couple of weeks, too, right?
Starting point is 00:24:02 Like, you know, the Grammys is on Sunday. It's on Sunday. So, yeah. Let's see if the clips win. How does he react? Lines and Times with Spencer Graves on the IHart Radio app is a podcast designed for hunters and fishermen to enjoy success. I like the idea of like, hey, put me on a big deer, you know, hey, there's a big deer out here, he's doing this, be looking for this deer. But I also love doing it on my own. I love going out there and saying,
Starting point is 00:27:26 running my cameras I love patterning in the deer I like showing up at the right time checking the wind knowing what stand I need to be in and then whenever it all comes together and it happens that's the most satisfying thing ever so when you do it on your own it's like I then can hang my hat but if I had somebody say hey pull up on these dots and catch them right here and you're gonna win and then when I go win it's like yeah that's cool I won the tournament the ultimate goal is done but it's like Dude, when you find them and you make them right, that's the puzzle. I love it.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Listen to lines and tines with Spencer Graves on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Oh, he's going to get back on X. If you're saying, let's see how he reacts. No, I'm just saying. Let's just see what, you know, like the best apology has changed behavior. Let's see. And who is Paul? Is that new management?
Starting point is 00:28:17 Peter, Peter. Peter. Yeah, so Peter's... Rob Paul. He paid Pete. Rob Paul. Yeah. Yeah, so Peter, you know, he's, I've worked with him before on other people.
Starting point is 00:28:26 he did a lot with Juice World. He, a little dirk. Like, he's, you know, been doing this for some time. So I don't know how new he is the Yeh's team, but I know that he is now in place on Yeas team as they figured this thing out.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Yeah, I mean, I think that's what Kanye is going to realize. Like, the words don't matter. The best apology is change behavior. That's right. Show us. Now, another conversation I know we were having was the fact that, because in that letter, the opening of the letter,
Starting point is 00:28:49 Kanye West talks about the fact that he had gotten to a car accident, which is how, you know, certain things weren't skinned the right way and all that stuff. the car accident that he's talking about he also references in the song Through the Wire and we were having a conversation about how you know there was some conversation last week about the fact that Kanye West doesn't even get
Starting point is 00:29:05 credited publishing wise for through the wire let's take a listen to that conversation you have the sample that defines Kanye's career he's got nothing we still remain the 100% writers presumably that's the biggest sample of your catalog
Starting point is 00:29:25 you know it's a funny story about that I wrote that song with my friend Tom Keane and the lyrics were done by Cynthia Weil and when Kanye his camp likes hey we want to use your song all the way through this record and he wants 50% of the writing or whatever I was like well okay and because he was huge that I mean he was getting really huge Cindy was like that no he gets nothing so he got nothing it's still we still remained so that's the guy that actually wrote through the wire was three people that wrote through the wire. It was Foster, Tom Keene and Cynthia well. He's saying Cynthia is the one who was like, no, we're not. Kanye, sample the record from them. And when Kanye went to get the clearance, they were going to give them a percentage. And then a woman said, now, we're not giving them nothing. So, Kanye got no royalties off of that record.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Oh, because I said we. So I thought, I was like, damn, am I getting old? I didn't remember having that conversation. No, me and envy were having the conversation. I looked at envy. Yes. But that wasn't either you or envy. No, we were just talking about it. So we brought, oh, my God. But Kanye gets no royalties or publishers. from that record. They own 100% of that record. So every time you hear that record, he does not get paid. He gets paid for performing. Yeah, but that was his breakout single. That was his breakout single. He needed that. Not you thought that you was old and just didn't remember a conversation. You said we?
Starting point is 00:30:39 Sorry, maybe I answered that. We did? Now, as we wrap, yesterday news had broke that Quentin Aaron, shifting gears at Quentin Aaron, the actor who played Michael Orr, the football player in the blindside was on life support and was hospitalized after falling in his home. But there are. are some positive signs of recovery. So his wife, Margarita, who is a nurse, who was by his side and, you know, got him upstairs and called the police updated people.
Starting point is 00:31:05 She let TMZ know that he actually opened his eyes yesterday and gave a thumbs up. So he is doing better. Thank God. Has anybody randomly thinking about this? Has anybody, y'all talked to Ray J? Does anybody check it on Ray J? I texted him yesterday. I did too.
Starting point is 00:31:19 I didn't hear back from him. But I know he had posted online that he was doing well. He mentioned something about like his heart being at 25 percent. Let's take a listen to Ray J. What's up everybody? We're live right now. I want to thank everybody for praying for me. I was in a hospital.
Starting point is 00:31:36 My heart's only beaten like 25%, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path and everything will be right, so thank you for all your prayers. I'm going to work right now and I'm going to say, excuse me. All right, excuse me. You know, my health is not okay.
Starting point is 00:31:51 I thank everybody for supporting and praying for me through the health and through everything I've been in the hospital. Thank you to my mom, Brandy, and my dad, and everybody for her for her. It's true. Even Sheila who's been just sitting in the fucking hospital just watching me be sick. There's a few people that helped me kind of survive this. Ray J, bring your ass to New York and come see Dr. Puma.
Starting point is 00:32:15 But you sped past the other story. Is the brother okay? Yes, I told you. Yeah, he gave a thumbs up. I gave you it. I said that, yes, because at first it was been reported that he was on life support and that he wasn't like breathing and functioning on his own. But his wife got in contact with TMZ and said that even though the machines were there,
Starting point is 00:32:32 he was doing well on his own. And they had some positive, like, you know, feedback. And then she gave a full update saying he woke up and he opened his eyes and he gave a thumbs up. This is a great movie, man. Yeah, it is. Yeah, his wife is named Margarita. And that's the movie about the white family who brings in the young black man. Yes.
Starting point is 00:32:51 And he goes on to play for the Baltimore Ravens. Yeah, with Sandra Bullock. Michael Lord. A beautiful, beautiful movie, man. It shows the compassion of people and how people have empathy for others. I just thought it was beautiful that they, you know, open the door and let that, you know, football player come in and smash his wife and then he became... Oh my God, what the hell?
Starting point is 00:33:06 That was not the right movie. That's not the movie that you're talking about. I'm not smashed the lady. And I think he got mad at one time and said he thought the family was only there for the money. Then that happened in the real life. That happened. Listen, Quentin's... He's doing okay.
Starting point is 00:33:22 But that's the latest... That's great. That's what I tell everybody out there. Just if something is going on with a family member, whether they're sick, take them in. Take them to the emergency room. You know the fight I had. Somebody just told me yesterday similar to that story. My grandma would not go to the hospital.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Healthy individual, runner, athlete. And then all of a sudden he got sick. Didn't know what it was. The doctors told them it was mono. And it was way, way, way, way worse. So just please take your loved one to the emergency room. Get the test that they need. Keep pushing because sometimes doctors get wrong.
Starting point is 00:33:52 They don't always get wrong. That's what made me thinking right. Because his came out of like nowhere too. He just was like in the hospital one day. But yeah, my grandma finally went. She's fine. But it took me two days in the ambulance to convince my grandma. God, damn.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Why are you going to put that on that man? He just didn't come out of nowhere, but we seen Ray J. He used drugs. He's talked about using drugs before. Let him tell his story. He told him bad. You got on them snitch boots and you're ready to tell it all. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:34:16 Yeah. We got to wrap up. And in the next hour, we're going to be talking about Nikki Minaj. Nive. You asked me a question. the last time we talked about this whole house thing and her saving that $20 million mansion about how much she paid.
Starting point is 00:34:28 I talked to an attorney in the situation, so we're going to bring you guys some more exclusive updates in the next latest. All right, when we come back, we got the front page news, so don't go anywhere. Mimi's here's the breakfast club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Jess O'Lariah, Sholomaine, the guy, we are the breakfast club. Let's getting some front page news. Mimi's here. What's up, Mimi. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:34:46 Good morning, Ms. Good morning. Good morning. All right, so we start this hour, still watching that massive winter storm. The worst of the worst. snow has moved out, but the danger is far from over. Speaking of the storm, how was your commute in this morning
Starting point is 00:34:58 with the weather? It was a lot better than yesterday. It wasn't bad at all. I wasn't slipping and flat. Yeah. Well, more than 200 million people are still under that dangerous cold alert this morning stretching across most of the country. The storm has already turned deadly. At least 21 people have died
Starting point is 00:35:14 across more than a dozen states from hypothermia, crime and monoxide, poisoning, and weather-related incidents. I saw a story yesterday where a girl died from a sledding incident. Damn. Damn. Officials say that number could rise more as cases are reviewed.
Starting point is 00:35:28 So power is also slowly being restored, not as fast as it could be. More than half a million customers are still without electricity, including 200,000 people in Tennessee as those temperatures plunge well below freezing. And travel disruptions, they are still continuing nearly 6,000 flights were canceled yesterday. A little bit more expected today, major delays at airports like Philadelphia and Boston. And be careful out there if you're shoveling the snow I've seen a lot of cases of people getting heart attacks From shoveling the snow
Starting point is 00:35:58 Because they don't do the activity They don't exercise So you go outside and clear your thing It's a whole workout A couple people died I think over the weekend In Jersey Oh wow Thank you sources man
Starting point is 00:36:09 You just out here giving me Freaking anxiety for no damn I can't even go shovel snow mar I'm not thinking about having a heart attack It's got damn And you already know my hypochondriac What did you know You ain't tell me that.
Starting point is 00:36:22 That is crazy. Verona, New Jersey, man dies while shoveling snow found with shoveling the hand. How old was? Give me some details. Give me some contact. 97. He was 67. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:36 That's still young. But there's some other issues there, I'm sure. Yeah. I mean, it's a dog. They're just telling everybody be careful out there because if you shovel the snow, you get young. Yeah. Is it true that there might be another winter storm coming this weekend? This weekend in New York.
Starting point is 00:36:50 I don't know. What? Yeah, there's more snow expected in the New York area this weekend. But in Atlanta, Mayor Andre Dickens, he is warning people about black ice. So let's listen to what he had to say and how they're keeping the city safe. But you really do a good job of communicating, telling people don't take unnecessary trips. Black ice, you can't see it. You just need to be prepared for it and to know that it's best to stay off the road.
Starting point is 00:37:14 The thing that we're doing is making sure we opened up a lot of warming centers. So we have about 400 residents staying overnight. That's our unsheltered populations. And we've been able to make sure people have power generators and batteries in the event that power goes out. So we've been in our job, which is our joint operation center where all of government works together to make sure people are safe. That's racist. Of course, the ice in Atlanta is black. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:40 And also, why does the black ice have to be the ice we hate? Okay. Nobody ever says the white snow. Okay. Well, the ice you can't see is the black ice. Okay. All right. I see where you're going.
Starting point is 00:37:51 with that. Oh, come on. They say black ice because they blend in with the streets. Your ass cold. Yes, absolutely. Just call it ice. You know. Why can't we just say we slipped on the ice?
Starting point is 00:37:59 Why got to be black ice? And also, of course, authorities are saying to limit travel if you can. Check on your neighbors, especially seniors and anyone without reliable heat. And schools still are being affected. So several districts across several states have announced closures. Officials say check directly with your local school districts as conditions and decisions can change hour by hour. I know in New York they're going back to school today. Yep.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Wow. School is back. And parents across the country, they are watching a major trial that begins today in California. And this is where a jury will hear claims that social media apps were built in ways that harm children. So at the center of this case is a 19-year-old woman who says social media platforms were designed in a way that left her addicted and it harmed her mental health. So she's suing meta, which owns Instagram and Facebook, along with TikTok. She's also suing Google, which owns YouTube. Now, Snapchat, it was also named, but they settled out of court last week.
Starting point is 00:38:56 Now, this trial is the first of its kind to reach a jury, and it could set the tone for similar lawsuits that are now lining up across the country. So the companies say that there's no proof that their platforms cause harm like depression or eating disorders, and they've argued that they are not responsible for what users post. But this case is not about what people post. It's about the design, like algorithms, notifications, and features that keep people scrolling. Um, jurors are expected to see internal documents and hear testimonies from top executives, including Mark Zuckerberg. He's scheduled to testify. But legal experts say this is a turning point.
Starting point is 00:39:30 If the, uh, social media companies lose, it could change social media as we know it and open the door for even more lawsuit. So what do you guys think? Um, are media, social media companies responsible for young people and how they affect or is that parents? Yeah. I remember reading this book back in the day. I think it was a digital minimalism by Cal Newport and he talked about how people compared what was going on in the social media tech world now to how it was back in the day with the tobacco
Starting point is 00:39:57 industry. So this lawsuit feels like that because there was lawsuits that were bought against the tobacco industry back in the day and it feels the same as those. Do people win those though? I don't remember. Okay. Yeah, no, I think it's all all the parents. I mean they're telling you what it does. We see what it does and if you still allow your child to do it and be
Starting point is 00:40:13 addicted to it, you've got to kind of blame that on the parents just like a smoker. If it says sign on that package that says smoking gives you cancer and you get cancer you can't sue the company but social media don't come with a warning yeah it's a back end up here comes to the warning yeah and then the fact that Snapchat settled with her already
Starting point is 00:40:29 outside of court yeah that's gonna open up yeah open up the doors and then really quickly I looked she said that she's been addicted since she was 10 years old basically how is she now she's 19 oh my god that's why I be that's why I be going through all of this stuff because of social media everybody in his room was addicted and don't know it. You're about to sue? Oh my God. I might
Starting point is 00:40:51 envy because I got the shake sometimes from when I read from the stuff and then oh my god the long post. When it'd be the big progress and I'd be trying to read it and you know make sure everything is going on right in my life and the world. Do not blame the anxiety you get from reading it on social media.
Starting point is 00:41:07 I'm sure we can trace that back to Baltimore elementary school. Jesus. Jesus. Hey, yo. Oh my goodness. Okay y'all well that is your front page news. I mean Brown, follow me at Mimi Brown TV. For more stories, follow the Black Information Network, download the free IHeartRadial app,
Starting point is 00:41:25 or visit BINNews.com. Thank you, Mimi. So I just want to add this, you know, they're saying approximately over 100 people die yearly from trying to shovel snow so. Nearly all deaths or due to heart attacks, individuals over 45.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Today, see, use the shovel to push snow rather than lifting snow. What I want to do is open up the phone lines. We were talking about this gentleman. How many people have died of a heart attack? If you died from shoveling snow, call us right now. Is that what you're going to do? No, 8005-185-105-1.
Starting point is 00:41:56 We were talking about this early. What are some hustles you did as a kid that these kids don't do anymore? And we were talking about that. There should be a lot of kids out there shoveling snow. When I was out there trying to shovel snow yesterday, you know, my big, I was born in 1978. You could have had a heart attack. No, I couldn't have because I just went and got checked last week from Dr. Pumor.
Starting point is 00:42:13 Okay, I am good. My cardiovascular was great. But I was just thinking, where are the kids? you know, and you know who pulled up? The Mexicans. I don't know how old they were either, because they all were young. But they pulled up,
Starting point is 00:42:25 and they pulled up in that plow truck with them shovels, and they got busy. And they saved your damn life, didn't they? I was going to live regardless, okay? But they saved me some time. My point is, why y'all kids ain't out there in the streets, the kids in the neighborhood, why y'all ain't out there with your shovels getting to this money?
Starting point is 00:42:39 So the question is 800-58-105-10-1. What are some hustles you did as a kid that these kids don't do? Paperout. I'll be saying grown-ass people don't have paperouts now. Listen. They still got paper rounds? They don't throw papers in front of the house? No, I haven't seen a newspaper boy in a long-ass time,
Starting point is 00:42:57 envy, not on the bikes unless that's what Jake Cole will be doing. But no, I haven't seen nobody delivering newspapers in a long time. But mowing lawns. Moan lawns, definitely, for sure. Even in the summer, right, like the lemonade stands and all that stuff, right? Let's talk about it when we come back. Right, y'all? 800-585-105.
Starting point is 00:43:13 Do you don't remember lemonade stands? You don't either. saw him on TV. There wasn't nobody. No-oh. Nobody in Queens. Man, they used to do that in Florida all the time. Charlie Brinand.
Starting point is 00:43:24 We've seen it on TV, but nobody had no lemonade stand. Nah, lemonade's thing. I mean, I know what you're talking about, but I never saw one for real. All right, it's the breakfast logo morning. It's topic time. Call 800-585-105-105-1 to join in to the discussion with the breakfast club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy.
Starting point is 00:43:45 Just hilarious. Shalamey and the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now, if you just. joining us. We're asking 800 585-105-1. What are some hustles you did as a kid that kids these days don't do? Now this came from, of course,
Starting point is 00:43:57 we got a little blizzard and I see too many kids out there shoveling snow. I'm telling you, man. Where your kids ain't shoveling no snow? You got four of them. You got six. You got four daughters. My four daughters ain't shuffling no snow. And Logan and they ain't shuffling no, Logan, they ain't doing it. Logan should be out of the shoveling snow. His big d'is the last. Okay, but he's in
Starting point is 00:44:15 Miami. He ain't got no damn snow. Yeah. But I really was thinking about that yesterday, because I'm like, man, this is a day to come up. It was like 16, 17 inches of snow where we live at in New Jersey, New York City area. It's like, yo, go out there, get a shovel. And these kids, you can get the electric shovel that when you hit the snow, it just, damn it disappears. You can go get, you know, snowblowers for the cheap. There's all type of ways that you can go out here and make some money.
Starting point is 00:44:39 I don't know why these kids ain't out here getting it. And, by the way, y'all want to complain about, you know, people from other countries taking jobs. Then Mexicans was on it yesterday. They pulled up. Now, I got scared when they pulled up Why did you get scared? Because I don't know. I'm like, you know, y'all pulls up and I just come follows. But clearly
Starting point is 00:44:56 they were legal. But they pulled up in the plow troughs and they had the shovels and they got busy. And I was like, damn, I ain't, you know. And they made some bread too. They made some bread. That's right. But one of the things I would do as a kid, especially when my grandmother went to the grocery store and went shopping,
Starting point is 00:45:11 I would help people carry their groceries to the car. Yeah. That would pay me a lot of money. That would give me $5 here, $4 here, $10 here. Helping people pump gas, all of that. Wash cars.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Wash cars. Washed cars. Yep. Rake leaves. I'll tell you all one. What? Collecting cans. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:31 I was raised on the dirt road in Montauauauau, we used walk up and down the dirt road, picking up them aluminum cans, putting them in a plastic bag and taking them, you know, wherever you took them. I ain't go that far.
Starting point is 00:45:40 I didn't go to trash cans and go through the trash cans and pick up. So where you get cans from? Like, I would just, if I went to school, I went grandma's house, my house, but I wasn't going to
Starting point is 00:45:48 You went in the garbage can to get cans? I just said we was walking down the dirt road and we would find a little can on the road. All the cans of Budwiser and cords and all of that. I tell you, another hustle people ain't doing no more. Selling crack. What? I'm telling you. And look, I was right to say boosting. He went to
Starting point is 00:46:04 drugs. I was someone stealing. Crack cocaine is still sold in a lot of parts of America but it's not the booming business it once was. You got fentanyard. You got heroin. You got meth. You got cocaine. Those are big drugs now. But the crack is not like it used to be. Because the crack kids changed. When you can see the crackhead behavior these days
Starting point is 00:46:19 it doesn't compare to like we used to have some really really good crack kids oh here and the drugs changed that's why the behavior changed you know what else you could get a crackhead to do shovel the damn snow these crap kids is lazy they're their bargain title these days no because they're not on crack they're on these pills and these pills just
Starting point is 00:46:35 make them zombies yeah opioids and that heroin they just no you're right you're right the water boys you see them in Atlanta water boys are candy flipping candy as well too You're cleaning trash hands. Y'all kids just don't know how to hustle no more
Starting point is 00:46:49 because all y'all hustle is on social media. Y'all too busy trying to get likes and engagement. And then social media make it seem like anything like that is corny. Like they don't want you to do that now. That's not cool to do now. Hello, who's this? Hello, my name is Joy and I'm calling from Houston. Hey, Joy, good morning and talk to us.
Starting point is 00:47:04 What's some hustles you did as a kid that these kids don't do anymore? As a kid, I remember going to school to sell candy. We used to tell whatever it is we need to sell. Just to make a little money. But just yesterday, though, my daughter watching TikTok, came up with this cheesecake recipe, and she sent me everything she needed, and today she made little packages of those cheesecake
Starting point is 00:47:23 killed during no date, and she's taking the school to sell. Oh, that's dope. That's dope. Oh, yeah. She made her own cheesecake last night. She made some discop with the strawberries, and she has about 10 of each this morning,
Starting point is 00:47:35 and I'm like, you know, that's a little. Just yesterday, actually, she posted on the Instagram and made some sales before she would take to the school this morning. Yeah, I'm selling baked goods, yeah. People used to do that, too. You know what? My daughters did these baseball. beads, right? They did these wrist beads.
Starting point is 00:47:47 And I brought them up to try to sell a Charleston and they wouldn't even buy one. The little bracelets? Really? You could have bought something for your daughters. He told them they're too privileged or something like that. Oh, my God. Yeah, I would rather spend some money with some kids that need it. Right, yeah, yeah. That's true.
Starting point is 00:48:01 My dad got on red bottom boots with wings. Literally, yes. He wouldn't even buy some bees from my daughters. That's all right. Hello, who's this? Talk of the morning. This day and DeAngelo. How are you all doing this morning? What's up, DeAngelo?
Starting point is 00:48:14 Talk to us. What's some hustles you did as a kid that you did. Man, listen, you know, you were talking about them accidents dealing with that snow. Man, I ain't got no fingers on my hand being told to go outside as, get that snow removed in a snowblower. Been dealing with no fingers on my hand for 40 years ago. Damn. You ain't got no fingers?
Starting point is 00:48:32 Man, no fingers, man, the one hand bandit. You know what I mean? How you call us? Man, shut up. Oh, I thought he was saying he on hand no fingers. Oh, Jess, you got jokes here, man? Nah, nah, man. I just thought you.
Starting point is 00:48:46 That's what in the I know you're laughing. No, yo. Nah, no, please. Hey, no, my, I'm in the safe, Jeff. Listen, don't do that. All right, right, right,
Starting point is 00:48:56 hey, hey. I'm real, though. Be careful in that snow, holler. Oh, man. Join into the discussion with the breakfast club. Talk about it. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Just hilarious. Salomey and the guy. We are the breakfast club. If you're just joining us, we're talking about some of the hustles you did as a kid that these kids don't do. Like I reported a little, a couple of minutes ago about people having heart attacks
Starting point is 00:49:20 shoveling snow. I don't know why you keep telling that statistic. It does. It happens. That was one 67 year old man envy who died mid-shovel. But they found he had to shovel in his hand. I know. I mean, shoveling slow and strenuous. I was out there yesterday and I'm like, God, damn, man, anybody got time for this.
Starting point is 00:49:35 I did make two good paths, though. That's good. I made two good paths. Which are covered right now, probably. No, well, actually, the Mexicans came through and finished the job. Oh, nice. So salute to them. Once again, they out here getting the money that these kids in these neighborhoods should be getting. But these kids are too busy on social media. And these kids are too busy, you know, trying to make a dollar virtually that they don't know how to pick up a shovel.
Starting point is 00:49:57 I'll go get a snowblower. I'll go get the electric shovel and go out here and make some money. And it was so many things to do as a kid. We talked about washing cars. We talked about if kids could swim, they would be lifeguards. Flipping candy. Selling crack. See, you keep people.
Starting point is 00:50:11 Cutting grass. You said cutting grass, right? Cutting grass. Yeah, mowing lawns. Collecting canes. Hello, who's this? Hey, what's up, breakfast club? What's up, y'all boy?
Starting point is 00:50:18 This is Lamar, calling from Charleston, South Carolina. 8-4-3 Manhattan. What's up, brother, talk to us. Man, just want to sit, man. These kids, none of these. Some boy ain't like us. Some boy lazy. I used to, we used to meet my homeboy, matter of fact.
Starting point is 00:50:31 We used to go around the neighborhood, knocking door-to-door, cotton grass, freaking leaves and all that. You know, the boy, nine of these, all they want to do is stay in the house. He ain't want to get out. You got to force them boy to get out of the house. Some boy ain't want.
Starting point is 00:50:44 And boy, we're growing up. So, yeah, man, that's all I want to see. And it's a lack of respect for elders, right? And what I mean by that is sometimes we don't even see our elders because those are the ones who actually need help. When you're talking about rigging people's leaves, you talk about cutting people's grass, even simple things like, you know, taking somebody's trash out maybe.
Starting point is 00:51:05 It's usually older people who need that number because you don't see the older people in your neighborhood. You don't even know where to go. Yeah, but that was the thing. That was big for us. The grocery store was huge. Like we go to the grocery store set out there for a couple hours.
Starting point is 00:51:16 It just helped people get their groceries to their cars. And we didn't really, we didn't care. At that time, we got a dollar, two dollars. It didn't really matter. They just gave us a little bit of, you know, whatever they had in their pocket. And you know, the biggest thing that we're forgetting why a lot of this stuff is stopped, the lack of trust.
Starting point is 00:51:28 You can't just walk up to somebody's door and knock on it and ask to help. You're right. Because people aren't going to believe you're really there to help. Imagine walking up to somebody in the grocery store and be like, hey, yo, you need help with them bags. Like, if you don't get the money with me.
Starting point is 00:51:42 I'm not even coming out the market. I don't even know what you got playing. But if it was, yeah, you're right. You're right. Because even if a young kid coming to me, I'm like, if you don't get out of here coming, I think you're going to take him and run. But as a kid, that's...
Starting point is 00:51:51 This show contains information subject to, but not limited to personal takes, rumors, not so accurate stats, and plenty more. What's up, man? This is your boy, Nav Green, from the Broken Play Podcast. Look, it's the end of the season,

Starting point is 00:52:15 The cheese. What's a rap? It's time to rebuild. Who's your MVP right now, then? Drake May up there, Josh Allen up there still. Oh, my boy, Matthew Stafford. Where did his Bull Knicks at? He ain't too far behind.
Starting point is 00:52:29 He did all this talk about. What Matthew Stafford is doing statistically, bro, is crazy. Bro, you know I ain't no Josh Allen fan, but Matthew Stafford got better weapon. Caleb Williams. Hey, he should be in that conversation. In what conversation? He should be in it.
Starting point is 00:52:42 Listen to broken. Play with Nav Green from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart Radio at Apple Podcasts or whatever you get your podcast. Each week, we explore the tools and insights that help you move with purpose. Whether you're navigating something new or returning to yourself. You know Roll Doll, the writer who thought up Willie Wonka, Matilda, and the BFG. But did you know he was also a spy? Was this before he wrote his stories?
Starting point is 00:53:55 It must have been. Our new podcast series, The Secret World of Roll Doll, is a wild journey through the hidden chapters of his extraordinary, controversial life. His job was literally to seduce the wives of powerful Americans. What? And he was really good. You probably won't believe it either. Okay, I don't think that's true. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:54:14 I was a spy. Did you know Dahl got cozy with the Roosevelt's? Played poker with Harry Truman and had a long affair with a congresswoman. And then he took his talents to Hollywood, where he worked alongside Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock, before writing a hit James Bond film. How did this secret agent wind up as the most successful children's author ever? And what darkness from his covert past seeped into the stories we read as kids. The true story is stranger than anything he ever wrote.
Starting point is 00:54:41 Listen to the secret world of Roll Dahl on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:55:05 I love going out there and saying, running my cameras. I love patterning in the deer. I like showing up at the right time, checking the wind, knowing what stand I need to be in, and then whenever it all comes together and it happens, that's the most satisfying thing ever. So when you do it on your own, it's like, I then can hang my hat. But if I had somebody say, hey, pull up on these dots and catch them right here, and you're going to win, and then when I go win, it's like, yeah, that's cool. I won the tournament. The ultimate goal is done. But it's like, dude, I couldn't want to. And you find them and you make them bite.
Starting point is 00:55:38 That's the puzzle. I love it. Listen to lines and tines with Spencer Graves on the IHard Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast. That's what we did. And even when you pull up to the stoplights and the kids, they'd be trying to wash your windows and you ain't asked them to. They get mad and throw something at your car when you don't pay them for cleaning your windows.
Starting point is 00:55:59 Hello, who's this? Good morning. Good morning. This time. What's up? Good morning. Let's talk to us. Hey, peace and blessings.
Starting point is 00:56:04 God is Almighty. Peace. Hey, real quick. I remember growing up, man. I used to go to neighbors east door Ask the lady or the old head Man, can't take a trash out for a few dollars Just give me $5, $10 man
Starting point is 00:56:15 By the end of the week I have enough to go give me a video game, man Nice That's true Yo, what about burning CDs I made a living stealing and burning CDs So he's bootlegging
Starting point is 00:56:26 Yeah, it's bootlegging and boosting That's why they used to call me Boo Boo Boo You just show me with crack and then you Like I think I meant legal Like legal Yeah, no, no no But drugs is way worse than stealing No for real
Starting point is 00:56:36 Because somebody can die What about Tim services? Remember Tim services? You never used to go to Tim services? What's that? Where you would go and they would have like work for the day. They'll send you places. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:46 They'll send you somewhere to go to go every day and every day would be a different job. You have to go one day might be cleaning up stuff at the park. Oh, like the little temp agencies? Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. I never did that. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:56:57 My name Johnston. I'm from Florida. What are some else who you did as a kid that these kids don't do anymore? The first thing is a couple of them. But the first thing I'm going to say it's shovel and snow when I used to live up north Nice to live in Philly. And it ain't nobody out there said much No, these kids don't got no hustle in them
Starting point is 00:57:11 because they want to sit around and play video games all day every time they get day off. You're right. We organized football games. We got out in these streets. That's right. Yeah. You're right.
Starting point is 00:57:20 Like, it was fun from the morning, from the time we didn't go out the house to the end of the day, it was fun. But real quick, I wanted to shout out my wife, business. That's cool. Okay. All right, it's called www.
Starting point is 00:57:30 The website is www. Wowpettles.com. Petals is spelled Pet-A-L-L-Z. Once again, it's www.WWPedles.com. She sells custom phone grips. She'd make them all by hand. She ship them out from down here in Florida to anywhere in the world. She's been selling them for about a year and now.
Starting point is 00:57:48 Business has been going great. But I just wanted to shout them out this morning. I appreciate everything y'all do. I appreciate your kids. Let me get on this phone call, shout her out. All right, brother. Yeah, I mean, my biggest poppy job was telemarketing. I did telemarketing.
Starting point is 00:57:59 I worked at the U.S. Open. I definitely worked out. I definitely did telemarketing. I was the person that would call your house and try to sell you 20 CDs for a penny or 10. CDs for a penny. Yeah, I was trying to sell you home heating oil. Hi, this is Sean from Pelko, how are you doing today? Yo, I used
Starting point is 00:58:12 to do the knobs. Like, remember the little companies that they would have you selling knives, like in groups. Yes, I never saw any, but I literally was doing that for like two years. Really? And it would teach you how to listen, though, because I would listen to background out here, baby. I'd be like, oh, is that a
Starting point is 00:58:30 baby in the background? Would you like to save money on this college? Oh, wow. If you start saving right now and I can help you, like, that's, you're Big sales shit. Is that a shovel out here? Do you want to die of a heart attack because you're shoveling snow? You know, listen, you know what else?
Starting point is 00:58:43 I do want to say something to these kids, though. These kids do have new hustles. So, like, you might have a kid that, like, that'll make candles. You know what I'm saying? Like, these kids do different things that may not necessarily be the blue-collar work we used to do.
Starting point is 00:58:58 But some of them is out here, you know, being creative with their hustles. Yes, absolutely. No, that's true. But you're not going to tell me you didn't burn CDs. No, I didn't burn CDs. Lime wire. Come on. No, I was a DJ.
Starting point is 00:59:10 I made my own CDs. Oh, I definitely did. I definitely did. That slew to my guy, DJ Chuck T, man. DJ Chuck T had like 20 CD burners. And Chuck T used to make so much money off selling CDs. I'm like, I want in on that. So I used to do the same thing. I had every mixtape, the G units, the big mics, the Who Kids, all of them,
Starting point is 00:59:31 D-block, dipset. Yes, we made a lot of money all selling mixtapes back in the day. My guy, DJ Chuck Tee. Jesus Christ. This was after the crack, sir. Oh, after the crack, sir. Yes. All right, well, we got the latest with Lauren coming up.
Starting point is 00:59:42 Don't go anywhere. It's the breakfast club of morning. Hey, we're going to talk, L.L. Cube. Yeah, I'm not dumbing myself down. I'm being myself. That's course is my friend. I'm a little bit about everything and everything. Lauren.
Starting point is 00:59:57 Little brown girls look at you and go, I want to be like you. Take me through that. Take me through that. The latest with Lauren knows. Take me through down. a breakfast club. L.L. Cube. Talk to me.
Starting point is 01:00:10 Take us through the L.O. All right, y'all, so a quick update from the last latest. So the ADL has responded to Kanye West's apology. Oh, what they say? So they say, Yay's apology to the Jewish people is long overdue and doesn't automatically undo his long history of anti-Semitism. The anti-Semitic, hell Hitler song he created, the hundreds of tweets, the swastikas,
Starting point is 01:00:31 the Holocaust references, and all of the feelings of hurt and betrayal it calls. The truest apology would be for him to not engage anti-Semitic behavior in the future. We wish him well on the road to recovery. They ain't buying it. Why do you say that? It does not sound like there. It doesn't sound like a thank you.
Starting point is 01:00:47 We're open for it. It sounds like a show us. Duh, that's exactly what we said last hour. They literally just said the best apology is changed behavior. You don't feel like the tone. I mean, they're rightfully so. Yeah, rightfully so. Breakfast Club can't speak for all of the black community,
Starting point is 01:01:01 but it's the same thing. The best apology is changed behavior. Say whatever you want to say, but show us. That's pretty much what it sounds like they're saying to me. Yeah, okay. So, Kanye will be kissing the walls, noon. He'll be over there. He's kissing the wall.
Starting point is 01:01:14 You didn't go see. No, yesterday my grandma called me and was like, I was trying to explain to her what you meant. So. I'm not Jewish. I'm not explaining it. I left it alone, too. I was like, my mom is just one of them things that you got to do.
Starting point is 01:01:25 But they are correct in their statement. Yes. The best apology is change behavior. Yeah. And that's how we all should feel. I agree. And I did reach out to Derek Johnson. who was up here, the head of the NACP as well,
Starting point is 01:01:38 to see if they'll be issuing any statements or anything since he did apologize to the black community as well. Yes, we're going to take him to Howard University and he got to kiss the basketball court. What? The Greek card. No, not that way.
Starting point is 01:01:49 No, no. It's not a thing. Georgia, he got to kiss the statue of Marlon McKeague, Jr.? That's better. You're getting close. I like that one. Yeah, I do like that.
Starting point is 01:01:57 I like that. That sounds better to kiss him. Yeah. Well, we take them to the International African-American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina, and he got to kiss the ground. that some of our first ancestors came through. Oh, no, I like that.
Starting point is 01:02:09 That is, I like, that's the one. No donation? Because usually they get donations too. He's definitely, he's going to have to. He definitely got to make some of that bread too. He's got to make some donations, man. You got to give it to the black community first. Yes.
Starting point is 01:02:21 And all of this, and I feel like a lot of people still aren't going to, like you're never going to forget all the things that was said and done after. So he's going to go through all this. Of course. There's still going to be. By the way, I'm wishing them the best. Yes. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:02:31 Because like I said, I feel like Kanye's been quiet for the past year. And so that leaves. me to believe that he's been doing some work on himself and that story you reported about how him and Kim are like co-parenting in a good co-parenting space right now yo I hope the best for the brothers I really do well we'll see
Starting point is 01:02:47 what happens but speaking of other artists that you know rubbing people the wrong way a bit Nikki Minaj so yesterday Nikki Minaj had tweeted out an event that she's doing with Trump this event is supposed to be something that will help the youth when it comes to financial literacy and she tweeted
Starting point is 01:03:04 a, I guess like a flyer for the summit. It's the Trump Accounts Summit happening on tomorrow, January 28th. And her tweet says, The True Meaning of Paying It Forward. Early Financial Literacy and Financial Support for Our Children will give them a major headstart in life. In some cases, they will end up teaching their very own parents how to invest and what to invest in this makes me very happy.
Starting point is 01:03:25 So even though she's trying to do some good, of course people are upset that she's doing it alongside the Trump administration. I hope she knows what she's doing. I do too. I hope she does. She's turning a lot of people. people against her. And I hope it's for a reason
Starting point is 01:03:37 that she really feels for and not just doing it for press or not doing it for any other reason because I see a lot of the barbs really turning on her. Yeah. Well, you know, we've always seen
Starting point is 01:03:46 Nikki march to the beat of her own drums. So, I mean, I feel like she knows what she's doing. But I feel like she knows exactly what she's doing. What's she going to have to do when it's all said and done
Starting point is 01:03:55 to get back and people good. I'm thinking it's going to have to start with an exorcism. Oh, my God. Dang. You know she for left? What do y'all think? I don't think an exorcism
Starting point is 01:04:06 I don't think an exorcism is needed I thought maybe a benefit concert I'll start I also talk Donation definitely donation Of course You have to Yeah that's the foundation
Starting point is 01:04:16 And then you guys said Del Miguel King HBCU-ish Like donate to the HBCUs That's about to close the Coliseum and Queens where she's from Like maybe save that It's gonna be rough
Starting point is 01:04:28 I'm not right Why you eat that fruit like that? He is tan that fruit out It's gonna be rough for Nikki. Yeah, that's what I really hope. Nicky will have a hard roll back. I'm telling you all that right now.
Starting point is 01:04:38 You're being a zesty bestie right now. I just want to let you know back. Well, yesterday, an attorney in that Nikki Minaj case where she settled the judgment for the $500,000 so that she could keep her a million-dollar home in L.A. reached out to me over a conversation we were having up here.
Starting point is 01:04:53 So when we talked about Nikki Minajell in that debt, I mentioned that one of the questions that I had was how much did she settle it for? And, like, could she yet negotiate that? And I know you mentioned that normally you can't. So he reached. out because he wanted to clarify. His name is Paul Sesso, and this is the attorney
Starting point is 01:05:08 to let us know that minutes before the judgment was about to happen where they were going to sell that home in L.A. of hers, she paid the debt. He tells me, even though he didn't tell me exact numbers, he just said she settled the full debt and he said that the full debt was $500,000 there was over $90,000 in judgment
Starting point is 01:05:24 interest and over $5,000 in post judgment, which includes filing fees and all that stuff as well, too. He can't tell you the full number, but he gave you all the numbers. All I do is Adam all. He was throwing me a bone. He was doing as much as he could. I can't tell you the full number.
Starting point is 01:05:38 But she paid this amount for this, this amount for that, this amount for that. Did you add them up? No. $595,000 in some because this is a bit over. But yeah, he just wanted us to clarify that. Now, lastly, in all of the rubbing of the wrong ways. So y'all know how we've been talking about Wicked and Wicked for Good and Cynthia Revo and Ariana Grande, right?
Starting point is 01:05:59 So Billboard just dropped a list that. they do of the highest grossing films. And Wicked for Good is now Billboard's number three highest gross in film, right? Nice. Great. Of what last year? In the whole time. I believe it's of last year.
Starting point is 01:06:13 Let me look up what it is. Yes, of last year. But the conversation, though, that has been happening around Wicked for Good is the reason is why didn't Wicked for Good get nominated for an Oscar? So the first movie was nominated, right? Second movie got nothing.
Starting point is 01:06:28 Like, they got no mentions. Oh, my God. You saw it all in a song and y'all didn't do it? Oh, damn. I mean, y'all didn't like it? No. And you sat through all of it, too. It was long, wasn't it?
Starting point is 01:06:37 I've seen the first wicked, the second weekend. I've seen Wicked on Broadway. That was absolutely positivity, the worst presentation of Wicked, the part two. Damn. I fell asleep. I slept on that one. Yeah. So why didn't get...
Starting point is 01:06:50 So, according to... Well, no, News Nation did an article where they had these anonymous Oscar voters give comments. And one of the Oscar voters said that basically people were, they were turned off by their performances on red carpets and people didn't want to go through seeing Cynthia Revo and Ariya. I swear that's what they said. So their relationship with them being a little creepy
Starting point is 01:07:11 is the reason why. I mean, I will say there was an awfully strange togetherness about them. But I know, I still can't believe that they weren't even, you know. It says, this is what the Oscar voter quote, the anonymous person says, I was also completely turned off by their promotional performances. The Academy member added, they creeped out a lot
Starting point is 01:07:27 of people in their rush to feel authentic, came off as cosplaying. And I did reach out to the academy on this and they would not give me a comment, but I asked, I'm like, well, if it's not true, just let me debunk it for you guys. And they wouldn't give me a comment either way. I mean, it was creepy, but I ain't able to do with the baby. I mean, they just seem like
Starting point is 01:07:43 two lesbian newlywheres on shrooms. Like, literally, they just, you know, just in every interview, you know, Cynthia, I said in interviews, like, Cynthia even was damn their breastfeeding that one of the damn interviews. She was fixing stuff that didn't give, fix me. Like, you know what I mean? And they said, yeah,
Starting point is 01:07:59 all the time. And they always, they seem like they do like their best friends. They do everything together, you know, red carpets, cry, gym, fast. Hey, let's not eat for a long time together. Like they do everything today. Periods on the same cycle? Yes, they're synced up. Yeah. Well, the list, just to clarify,
Starting point is 01:08:15 is a full list of top grossing films film adaptions of Broadway musicals and it landed number three on that list. Nice. I just thought the movie sucked. Okay. Well, maybe a lot of other people felt like that too. Maybe for you though. It was for your kids. It sure it wasn't. I got a good naping that movie
Starting point is 01:08:31 It's a good melatonin movie I will say Y'all are not helping them for anything else I'm saying is I will say Maybe that it's true because we heard When the first one dropped We heard about it I wouldn't stop hearing about it
Starting point is 01:08:43 My little sister, my little cousins Everybody Even my son like this The first one scored 10 nomination Yeah this one made 524 $524.7 million Worldwide in his first 10 weeks
Starting point is 01:08:54 At the box office But I did not hear Anything about the storyline the movie this time around. I heard everything about it the first time. So, I mean, maybe it just wasn't a good second movie. Jesus, all right. Well, in the next latest, we're going to get into, you know,
Starting point is 01:09:10 OG on stage who you're going to learn not to play with it when you come to one of his shows. Speaking of OG, rest in peace. And happy birthday to John Witherspoon. Yes, salute to John Wetham, rest of peace. It's his birthday. Bang, bang, bang. All right.
Starting point is 01:09:23 Shalom, man, who you giving that dog on can too? Man, for after the hour, let's talk 2A all day, man. I need a White House Press Secretary Caroline Levin. and, you know, a whole bunch of the conservatives to come to the front of the congregation. We like to have a world. You stay in that White House. Don't he?
Starting point is 01:09:36 He need to be there right now. A lot of things going on in the world. We'll squeeze back. Let's see back. This is America. There is no question that there are problems in this country between police and community. Yes.
Starting point is 01:09:51 You are a donkey. The latest on that police killing of a black man. Now to new developments in the deadly spa shooting rampage. And yesterday it was a really bad day. for him and this is what he did. And so we are in a state of emergency. Okay, white supremacist violence is, it always have been the number one threat to our society.
Starting point is 01:10:09 But I'm also very proud that my wife is white. The breakfast club, bitches. All right, Shornayne. Please tell me why was I your donkey of the day? Well, donkey today for Tuesday, January 27th, goes the White House press secretary Caroline Levitt, FBI director, Cash Patel, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California,
Starting point is 01:10:29 I think you pronounce his name. And every single conservative who all of a sudden seems like they don't believe in the Second Amendment, okay? What is the Second Amendment? Well, it's in that document. Nobody seems to care about anymore called the U.S. Constitution. And the Second Amendment protects the rights of the people to keep in bare arms. I am 2A all day.
Starting point is 01:10:49 I absolutely believe in my right to keep in bear arms. But I also believe in common sense gun reform, okay? I don't feel that anyone in America needs guns the size of a little Duvall. Okay? I think that's a rational way to look at this situation. But since the tragic murder of Alex Pready, conservatives have not been being rational about this situation. In fact, critics yesterday were saying that the right is betraying their base on gun rights. Now, I was watching The Daily Show last night, and they had an amazing collage they put together of all of the conservatives just betraying their base on gun rights.
Starting point is 01:11:23 Let's listen. When you are bearing arms and you are confronted by law enforcement, you are, raising the risk of force being used against you. You cannot bring a firearm loaded with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. I don't know of any peaceful protester that shows up with a gun and ammunition rather than a sign.
Starting point is 01:11:46 Don't let the left kid you with this, that this is just a normal protest. Peaceful protesters don't have nine millimeter weapons with two extra magazines. I am sorry that this gentleman is dead, but he did bring a 9mm semi-automatic weapon with two cartridges to what was supposed to be a peaceful protest. Lord have mercy, that was our Treasury Secretary Scott Bacent. Listen, in a world where Kyle Rittenhouse was held as a hero after bringing a gun to a protest
Starting point is 01:12:15 and ended up killing two people. Now conservatives are asking who brings a gun to a protest. Caroline Levitt said yesterday that any gun owner knows that carrying a gun raises the assumption of risk and the risk of force being used against you during interactions with law enforcement gun owners. Did y'all know that? Envy, did you know that? I didn't know that. Okay?
Starting point is 01:12:36 I didn't know that having a legal firearm that, you know, you have all your paperwork for raises the risk of law enforcement using force against you. By the way, Kyle Rittenhouse yesterday tweeted, and I quote, okay, Kyle Rittenhouse, okay, tweeted yesterday. And I quote, carry everywhere. Period. It is your right. Hashtag shall not be infringed. Listen, gun right groups blasted the Trump administration yesterday. The NRA had something to say. Let's go to CBS News for the report, please. The killing of Alex Pready has raised concerns among the group of Americans not known for criticizing the Trump administration, advocates for the Second Amendment. The federal government says part of the reason he was killed is because he had a gun. But Pretti was licensed to carry. And the video
Starting point is 01:13:23 shows that the weapon stayed in his waistband. One Trump, administration officials said online, quote, if you approach law enforcement with a gun, there is a high likelihood they will be legally justified in shooting you. Here is the NRA's response. Responsible public voices should be awaiting a full investigation, not making generalizations, and demonizing law-abiding citizens. The NRA said responsible public voices should be awaiting a full investigation, not making generalizations in demonizing law-abiding citizens. That was the NRA. And I agree with them, okay?
Starting point is 01:13:59 Gun owners for America said in a statement that its leaders condemn the untoward comments by people like Bill Aselli. I think I'm pronouncing that right. Who put on X. No, I know I'm not pronouncing that right. But he put on X. If you approach law enforcement with a gun, there is a high likelihood they will be legally justified in shooting you. No. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:19 Having a gun on your person in an open carry state and having a permit for it doesn't mean you should be killed. Stop this madness. Gun owners of America said in response to him, federal agents are not highly likely to be legally justified in shooting concealed carry licensees who approach while lawfully carrying a firearm. The Second Amendment protects Americans' right to bear arms while protesting a right. The federal government must not infringe upon. This goes back to what I said to you all yesterday.
Starting point is 01:14:48 Authoritarian regimes are not sustainable. Okay, the people will always revote, especially. in a country like America. The land of the free, all right? They call it the land of the free because of the values that this country upholds. Now, we know all freedom hasn't been created equal in this country, but the freedoms we do have. We don't want them infringed upon by the government.
Starting point is 01:15:08 And yesterday, I told you, I told you, the Nazis ultimately lost. What I was simply saying in a very me way was political movements that normalize anti-democratic behavior eventually face legal, cultural, and institutional pushback. Okay, that's just a historically accurate statement. Okay, I don't care if it was McCarthyism. That collapsed and became toxic, segregationist, politics became socially radioactive, Nixon era abuses, reshaped epic laws and oversight.
Starting point is 01:15:41 The demagification of America is upon us. I repeat, the demagification of America is upon us, and it's going to be fun to watch. So please give all those conservatives. who have betrayed their base on gun rights, the biggest he are? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:16:01 All right. Yes, indeed. Well, thank you for that donkey today. Yes, ma'am. Now, let's open up the phone lines. We were talking behind us, behind the scenes. I don't know where Lauren just went. We were talking about Kanye apologized
Starting point is 01:16:12 to the black community and the Jewish community. Mm-hmm. What does forgiveness look like? Man. Well, I mean, should people forgive? We're not God? I mean, I'm just saying, but should people forgive?
Starting point is 01:16:23 Should he just, you know, write this letter and say thank you and should... Who are people? There's no Jewish people in the room. We can speak for ourselves. We're black people as well, and I'm sure Jewish people do listen. A lot of black people mad at them. But like when you say forgiveness, right, like, does that mean, what, buying his albums again? Or streaming his albums or like...
Starting point is 01:16:40 Streaming his albums or... Yeah. I don't know what that means. Do we forgive so far as him? Who stops? Who stopped, though? I never stopped listening to the music. He had the number one album the last time he dropped.
Starting point is 01:16:51 People still were asleep. Yep, I do. Yeah. I still listen to his music. So what are you talking about? I openly love Kanye. He publicly support you. I want Kanye to be mentally and emotionally healthy.
Starting point is 01:17:03 That's what I want. I don't care about anything else. You know what I'm saying? When I see a brother that clearly we all watched, you know, struggling with some type of mental and emotional issues, when I see him, you know, get quiet for a year. Yep. And then, you know, pop out and people that have seen him and have talked to him
Starting point is 01:17:17 and have said he's in a better space, a better head space. That's what I hope for the brother. So I'm never going to be against that. Yeah, well, let's open up the phone line. Let's discuss. 800-585-105-1. You heard his apology. And I guess what, the ADL came back with pretty much saying, show us.
Starting point is 01:17:33 It's not the same thing we said. The best apology is changed behavior. Absolutely. Don't just tell us. Show us. We want to see you do better. Let's discuss. 800-585-105-101 is the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:17:41 Come on. Now, if you're just joining us, we're talking about Kanye's apology, right? And we have a lot of people on the line that want to discuss. But you said you used to rock it in a regard. Yeah, I just got a soft spot for our people all the time. So, you know. A bunch of my Jewish friends, they do not rock with him. Like, do the sneakers away, do not play his music.
Starting point is 01:18:04 Don't want to be any way associated, listening to, or anything with Kanye. Well, I got to know what kind of sneakers they were for us, because, you know what I'm saying? But each one, though, because some of them wore for more than others. Oh, they should have kept those. They made a nice pretty penny off the 350s right now. They don't need them damn shit. So we're asking, you know, for, I don't know, for me, I just want to see change behavior. I just want to see the brother change.
Starting point is 01:18:25 It looks like, like Charlemagne said earlier, it looks like he is getting the help. Yeah. We haven't heard from him in a long time. And what made me think... He's co-parenting again. Yeah, that's what made me think that, you know, it was serious because we actually heard out of Kim's mouth that things have been better. You know, that was like a strain, a public strain that they had on their co-parents
Starting point is 01:18:41 and relationship in the media, not too long ago. But when I heard, when Lauren reported that she said the opposite, like, things are doing better. He's approving certain things that he wasn't approved before. Norve can be on social media. And then they bonded through her making music, through their daughter making music. I think that's good.
Starting point is 01:18:57 That's what made me think it was real. Like, he's really trying. But he's a genius. He's an amazing producer. He's amazing songwriter. So I would love to hear more music. He's an artist when it comes to clothes. So I would love to see him.
Starting point is 01:19:08 Yeah, I don't subscribe to throwing people away because if that was the case, my black ass would have been thrown away a long time ago. Okay, I was disappointed in Kanye. I felt sorry for Kanye, because I saw a human that was hurting. I saw a human that was clearly dealing with some mental health issues, and he was projecting that hurt and pain onto everybody.
Starting point is 01:19:28 So the best thing that I've seen Kanye do over the last, you know, is shut the F up. Okay, we ain't heard nothing from Kanye. We ain't seen no tweets from Kanye. You ain't seen no erratic behavior. You haven't even seen him. Correct. So clearly, in my mind, I'm like, yo, maybe he's away doing some work on himself.
Starting point is 01:19:43 And by the way, this isn't his first apology that he's issued. Yeah. You know, he's issued quite a few apologies. We've seen him sitting with different, you know, people. So I mean... But what he said did hurt a lot of people, not just Jewish people, but black people. I just said that. I'm going to say, but the hurt was coming because...

Starting point is 01:20:33 Oh, my boy, Matthew Stafford. Where did he? He ain't too far behind. He did all this talk about. What Matthew Stafford is doing statistically, bro, is crazy. Bro, you know I ain't no Josh Allen fan. But Matthew Stafford got. better weapon.
Starting point is 01:20:47 Caleb Williams. Hey, he should be in that conversation. In what conversation? He should be in it. But did you know he was also a spy? Was this before he wrote his stories? It must have been. Our new podcast series, The Secret World of Roll Doll, is a wild journey through the hidden chapters of his extraordinary, controversial life.
Starting point is 01:22:13 His job was literally to seduce the wives of powerful Americans. What? And he was really good at it. You probably won't believe it either. Okay, I don't think that's true. I'm telling you. I was a spy. Did you know Dahl got cozy with the Roosevelt's?
Starting point is 01:22:27 Played poker with Harry Truman and had a long affair with a congresswoman. Listen to the secret world of Roll Dahl
Starting point is 01:22:52 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I love going out there and saying running my cameras.
Starting point is 01:23:17 I love patterning in the deer. I like showing up at the right time, checking the wind, knowing what's stand I need to be in. And then whenever it all comes together and it happens, that's the most satisfying thing ever. So when you do it on your own, it's like I then can hang my hat. But if I had somebody say, hey, pull up on these dots and catch them right here and you're going to win. And then when I go win, it's like, yeah, that's cool. I won the tournament, the ultimate goal is done. But it's like, dude, when you find them and you make them bite, that's the puzzle.
Starting point is 01:23:48 I love it. Listen to lines and tines with Spencer Graves on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. He was clearly dealing with something. Kanye's been dealing with something for a long time. And when you don't deal with your trauma, your trauma will ultimately deal with you. And you end up trauma dumping on everybody. And that's what I saw Kanye was doing. And that's why it was always so saddening to me.
Starting point is 01:24:12 to watch him crash and burn down this whole empire he built simply because he don't want to go do the work on himself. And that's why I be telling you, niggas, go do the work on yourself. Go sit down with somebody. Deal with that trauma that's inside of you, man, before you end up projecting that pain on other people. And if it's mentally related, then you understand and you just hope that he gets the,
Starting point is 01:24:32 I guess, the fixing that he needs, whether it's medicine, whether it's, like you said, speaking to a therapist. My whole problem is, is I just want him to get help. Forget everything else. Forget the music, forget the money, forget the fact that you're a genius. I just want him to get help, get to his family,
Starting point is 01:24:46 and then we could continue from there. I read that letter yesterday. I'm like, why wouldn't I be rooting for somebody to be mentally and emotionally healthy? Do you want this person to continue to be, you know, dealing with whatever pain and trauma they're dealing with and continue to hurt people? No, we need folks to break the cycle.
Starting point is 01:24:59 So, yes, I am always going to root for that man to break the cycle. We have Auntie Kim on the line. Auntie Kim, good morning. Hey, babies, I got out of morning. Good morning. And I just put this on my life. Facebook page. Kim Dawson,
Starting point is 01:25:14 I just put this on my Facebook page. I don't care what Kanye do. I don't care what he's saying. I don't care who forgive him. I am not doing that.
Starting point is 01:25:25 He can't come back from there. He can come back with Jesus. Because, you know, Jesus, yeah, he can come back. But he's done. Auntie Kim, you're not God. So you can't say
Starting point is 01:25:37 who deserves forgiveness or not. And I... No, no. Oh. See, he doesn't... See, you don't have nothing to forgive him for. That's true. I just know I ain't rocking with him no more.
Starting point is 01:25:48 I got nothing to forgive him folks. I'm wishing him the best. You know, because right. That's all. You know, because I'm not, like you say, I'm not God. I don't judge you or not. I ain't got nothing to forgive him folks. So my heart clean with the forgiveness part, I just know he's done.
Starting point is 01:26:02 He can't say nothing. He can't play nothing. He can't produce nothing. He can't, listen, he can come and drink the water from, behind the African-American Museum. He can't get nothing from you. Damn, I can't. Thank you, Mama.
Starting point is 01:26:20 She is not playing. Hello. He drinks the water behind the African-American. Hello, who's this? Damn. This is Pop, before Green, Brooklyn. Hey, talk to us, Pop. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:26:30 Man, as far as Apology goes, with Kanye Westman, he offered one, and we got to accept it, because the forgiveness is the friend of it, a flower leaves on the hill that crushes it. So if the man is, had gone through some little typhosomatic
Starting point is 01:26:48 and had committed a crime, he cannot even be charged by the ruler's thumb as a sane person. So the fact that he just merely said a couple words, and we are all big over about him, giving an apology or not giving a apology, puts us at a strange. Maybe it's something wrong with us.
Starting point is 01:27:06 Because if he's crazy or has some mental issues, how we're so involved and what he's saying? Listen, I'm with you, my brother. That's what I said. The best apology is change behavior. And another thing that I used to always get upset about, Kanye has talked about dealing with mental health issues for the longest.
Starting point is 01:27:21 It's not like Kanye was. Haven't been on meds before. So constantly do the work on yourself to where you don't project whatever you going through on the other people. He's got all the resources to do that. I wonder if he realizes what he's doing when he's not on the meds or does he only realize when he doesn't get something
Starting point is 01:27:38 or something doesn't go his way and be like there and why are they looking at me like that? It's hard to tell. It's hard to tell. Once again, the best apology is change behavior. I'm not here to say whether or not Kanye West deserves forgiveness or not. I don't, I'm not God. Nafia is just joining us.
Starting point is 01:27:51 We're talking about Kanye West. He just issued an apology to the Jewish community and black community. And we're asking, are we forgiving him? And what does forgiveness look like? Hello? Who's this? Tonyo. Hey, talk to us.
Starting point is 01:28:01 I think he said Antonio. Antonio? Antonio? Yeah, I want to say that Kanye, Kanye, I didn't ever do nothing, but without some of the easy, or some more music, and he'll be good. He ain't never put down the more easy. Ain't nobody, unless he's putting them on itself.
Starting point is 01:28:16 With black men, they can get away with it. But like you say, how y'all crucified Nikki. She's been posted in gold for a long time ago. Stuff like we used to that. But with men, they can just say whatever. Kanye had to do good. Listen, the reality is people are not going to throw Nikki away either. It's just that when you come back, you're going to have to, you know,
Starting point is 01:28:32 to make a man's. Like, that's all. Like, Kanye has started to make amends now. Whatever that looks like. Hello, who's this? This is B'lari. Malari, what's up, talk to us. What's your thoughts on Kanye?
Starting point is 01:28:44 Just want to say, I've been a fan of Kanye since late registration, my favorite artist. But even back then, something about it, I just knew I was like, I'm a fan of his music, but not who he is. I just, you know, like a lot of people always thought, it seemed like they thought he just became crazy. But if you look back,
Starting point is 01:29:02 he was always that same person when he was saying George Bush, so like black people. When that's him because he was trying to, prank him and take away his uh film for his music video he was going crazy right of the last. I forgot about that.
Starting point is 01:29:15 Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was going a while. He got real mad when I think he didn't get to perform or he didn't get any award for, what was it, MTV awards for good music, something like that. He was bugging out. So there's nothing to me. But I'm glad that it seems like he's getting
Starting point is 01:29:29 a help that he needs. That's it. You know? And I hope it don't turn around because I'm not going to lie in the back of my head. I'm like, he might be good for like six months and then boom he right back at it I'm yeah again going crazy saying that's it but but we got to stop but my brother we got to stop saying going crazy if we know that the brother is clearly dealing with bipolar or whatever manic issues he's dealing with like yo you have episodes if you don't do the work that's why I love Gucci man's book episodes and I love Gucci man talking about dealing with anxiety and bipolar and schizophrenia because he's also showing you how to contain it but but there's a difference right and the difference is Gucci man has a wife Kish Kei O that makes sure he's stays on that journey.
Starting point is 01:30:10 Kanye got a wife. She just ain't black. Well, I don't know if Kanye's wife is making sure he stays on that journey. Well, he did. He did. And we don't know if he's last. And his apollary,
Starting point is 01:30:17 no, she probably can't. She don't even look like she. She just thought of getting dressed. What? But he did say in his apology that his wife has been helping him. She's been by his side helping him do this work. But some of these things,
Starting point is 01:30:27 we see him do these outbursts. His wife has been by his side for the last couple of years. That's when she didn't have no clothes. But to the brother's point that just called, we've been watching this Kanye for 20, damn it, 30 plus years, we clearly know that he needs help. Correct.
Starting point is 01:30:44 And probably constant help at all times. I heard Kanye say, I don't want to take my medication because it messes up my creativity. Correct. So think about that. We keep talking about the artist and the person making sneakers and music.
Starting point is 01:30:55 Yep. What about the man? And what about if the human knows I need help, but I feel like this medication and stuff messes with my creativity, so I'm not able to feed the artist side of me. But at some point, you got to make a choice.
Starting point is 01:31:08 And I'm glad he's choosing the human side of him right now. I hope he still continues to choose the human side of him. Right. Well, what's the moral of the story? I'm not Jewish, so I can't speak with him. I'm not, I don't speak for all of the black community.
Starting point is 01:31:19 Would you speak for yourself? And I'm not God, so I can't even talk about whether somebody or not deserves forgiveness. All I can simply say is, I hope the best for Kanye West and I hope that he mentally and emotionally heals. I agree. We have to lift our people up.
Starting point is 01:31:36 All right. We got the latest with Lauren coming up. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Let your talk, L.L. Kuwait. Yeah. I'm not dumbing myself. Damn, I'm being myself.
Starting point is 01:31:44 Take me through that. That source is must. Take her will. I'm the home grad that knows a little bit about everything and everything. Lauren. Little brown girls look at you and go, I want to be like you. Take me through that. Take me through that.
Starting point is 01:31:56 Where she's going? The latest with Lauren Omos. Take me through that. On the breakfast club. L.L. Cubey. Talk to me. Lauren La Rosa, L.L.Cubei. Yes. So we're going to start the hour.
Starting point is 01:32:08 I want to say congratulations. to Mario and his girlfriend, Esmerota. A singer Mario. He posted yesterday that he welcomed his baby boy. Oh, man. Oh, man. That's a one of his songs. Marion, man.
Starting point is 01:32:23 That's a one of his songs. Mario. He just said Mario. I didn't know. He didn't know. I said, Mario. That's what he says. That's one of his songs.
Starting point is 01:32:32 It's because you kept your coat on for your outfit and you got them boots on. That's why he playing with you. Oh, yeah. Go ahead. Put them bisexual boots up. all day. These boots definitely
Starting point is 01:32:41 buy that's them. They're going both ways. If they've been walking around everywhere and they're
Starting point is 01:32:46 leaning against walls like this guys. They're definitely go both ways. A man or woman
Starting point is 01:32:50 can wear those right. They're unisex strong enough for a man and a page balance for a woman guy.
Starting point is 01:32:55 And the mega church pants is going to we don't do that here. The meg church boots
Starting point is 01:33:00 is about to go crazy. Well, Mario posted he posted like his feet in the delivery room with the little covers
Starting point is 01:33:06 over his sneakers and then he posted a photo himself in all of the gear because, you know, he helped the baby be delivered. And he says, Dr. Barrett, welcome women are God's greatest creation because what I witnessed today was only God's work, healthy baby boy. Nothing like watching a baby coming to the world, man.
Starting point is 01:33:22 Congratulations. Really, I heard people be like passing out and stuff. Well, some people did. Some people did. Myself. What you say? It was a plant. Oh, my guy said you have a smell.
Starting point is 01:33:33 No, that's not true. Some people do pass out. My first child, Rome, his father. Rome passed out. But my husband, my dad, my first child, he does act like my child sometimes. But my baby father, he passed out. But my husband delivered our daughter.
Starting point is 01:33:49 So, yes. God, Dave, you having that Mexican working. He's delivering the baby. That's crazy. Shut up. You just said that. I didn't know he delivered the baby. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:33:57 No, he did. He delivered the baby in the hospital. That's crazy. That's great. I know he has a duel of two. Shut up. Congratulations, Mario. Yes.
Starting point is 01:34:06 Congratulations. Yes. Immediately. out of time. Wow. He said he should live in and built the crib the same time. Goodbye. Oh, my God. Okay, so Martin Lawrence, moving on. Martin Lawrence was on stage in Illinois, and he was at the Hard Rock Casino there because he's on his tour. Y'all know what it is. And he had to remind the crowd, like, he is not one to play with when it comes to this heckling. Let's take a listen to this, real quick. Anybody come to see you that can't receive me. Yeah. That's all that we can find. That's all that we can find. Yes, yes. But the crowd, when you're watching the video, so if you watch it online, when you watch it, and even if you heard it really quick, the crowd reacts, like, even a person recording,
Starting point is 01:34:48 like, oh, shoot, like, because he says the B word. But I think anybody knows when you go to a comedy show, there's some rules. You shocked that Martin said the B word. I'm not shocked. That's what I was going to get to. I'm not shocked. I think they're shocked at the way he came for the heckler, but he don't play around like that.
Starting point is 01:35:03 Have y'all never seen any of his end up at all? They've never seen Martin. You know, there's a new generation of people headed to these comedy shows. It's why I don't be one to talk to you all. Martin, though, he's still the same Martin. Because the way people was shocked in that video, I was like, why are y'all shocked this Martin?
Starting point is 01:35:16 But you don't sit in the parking. Go on YouTube and watch the old episodes of Deaf Comedy Jam. Wouldn't it Martin go at, what's his name, Ed Lover's Friend? That was at Deaf Comedy Jam. I don't remember when, though. Martin gets crazy.
Starting point is 01:35:26 He's disrespectful. You don't go there playing with him. Don't play with Martin. At all. And I think that's why I was so quick, too. They probably didn't even expect it to happen. But yeah. Now, moving on in other news,
Starting point is 01:35:35 so speaking of people on stage, Christian Combs was on stage. He came out during total set they've been performing and he was trying to get the crowd hype and it didn't really go his way let's take a listen not right now not right now why yeah why is that why why is that the chant you know just come out see how I go back in the back. Damn.
Starting point is 01:36:12 Did he perform with him? Yeah, so he brought Keisha and the girl, they brought him out on the stage. And they were having so much fun backstage, too, before they went on. So I felt bad when I saw this video. Because, you know, he's just excited
Starting point is 01:36:23 and, you know, the bad boy family. But they still could have just, you know, lived it up in the back, like, with nephew. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. There was really no reason to bring him out. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:34 Well, did he do a song? Did he do a verse? So from what I could tell, he performed a bit and then ended it that way. They basically just kind of brought him disabled was up to the crowd. Like it was really quick. It wasn't like a whole set. But from what this looks like, the crowd wasn't feeling him. But 50 cent commented on it and said, his timing was just a little bit off. And Christian Combs responded back to him and said,
Starting point is 01:36:53 the real reason why the senior citizen Curtis is angry and keeps posting me is because his BM, talking about the mother of one of his children who was dealing with Diddy when he was here. So there's that. Speaking of people you don't mess with. Yeah. And as we end the hour, so y'all remember we were talking a lot about the late show with Stephen Colbert and the cancellation. And we knew that it was coming May 26. So there are reports right now that tonight on late night with Seth Myers, he's actually going to make the announcement of the actual end date.
Starting point is 01:37:22 So the date that they're saying is May 21st, 26, and that's supposed to be announced tonight on late night with Seth Myers. So it's the end of an error for that. And you can watch that on NBC and Peacock. Excuse me to my South Carolina Bredger and Stephen Colbert. That's my guy right there, man. Yeah. I'm from the clues bombs with Stephen Colbert.
Starting point is 01:37:40 Please. Okay. Well, thank you. That's the latest with Lauren. You done? I had some, I mean, we can end it. Is it good? What you have? I was just going to talk about because with the late show with Stephen Colbert, a lot of the conversation was like CBSN, it was money. People saying no, it's because of the Trump administration, all that stuff, right? There was a story that happened over the weekend because there was one of the girls from hacks came out and said that TikTok was like banning all of her like anti-ice like stuff that she was posting. TikTok had to come out
Starting point is 01:38:06 and respond and they said, oh, no, it's just like technical glitches or whatever. But there are a lot of celebrities online right now that are, you know, feel in the same way. Like, as they're posting things, things are getting, like, minimized by the social media accounts. And I saw Carrie Washington. She posted a video and she's trying to basically beat that. She's telling people how to go about protesting, even if, like, your social content is being pushed back. Let's take a listen. You are not powerless over what's happening in Minnesota.
Starting point is 01:38:32 One of the most effective things that you can do right now, today, is calling your representative. Every call is logged. Every voice adds weight. We're calling the Senate switchboard. I speak to senators from California. Please say the name of the United States Senator or representative that you are trying to reach. Senator Padilla. Connecting you to the office of Senator. Alex Padilla. Hi, my name is Carrie Washington. I'm a constituent from Los Angeles. Ice murdered our neighbors in Minneapolis and is terrorizing communities across the country. You are elected to protect us, not
Starting point is 01:39:09 fund this violence. Please block future ICE funding now. Thank you. I completely believe that they're manipulating the TikTok algorithm and suppressing things over there that probably speak out against the Trump administration or anything to do with ICE. I saw Bernie Sanders tweet yesterday. He said thanks to Trump right-wing multibillionaire Larry Ellison will now control the TikTok algorithm along with CBS MTV, the free press, BET, CMT, Simon & Houston, Nickelodeon, Prime Mount Plus, Pluto TV, and more. or this is what oligarchy looks like. Yeah, I saw Jimmy Kimmel like crying on his show yesterday
Starting point is 01:39:43 just about the ice stuff. And he's been having conversations about that new FCC rules and what they're making them do with the fair time. This is a whole different world that we're in right now as far as like media and stuff. But we'll be back with more. And TikTok has been glitchy, has been down for the last couple days. There's been a lot of creative people out there,
Starting point is 01:39:58 creative content, people that are basically saying that their views have been zero and the algorithm is bad. But I think they fix it. I ain't ever been on TikTok. TikTok. Oh, you all over there. be posting you all over. Yeah, you all with you.
Starting point is 01:40:10 I'm just saying, like, you on there. You're on there, too. Especially when you be dropping it. That video was crazy on TV. I never drop it nowhere. You want me to repost it. You know, you didn't be driving there. You pick it up, but you drop it.
Starting point is 01:40:21 Yes, you do. I picked it up, though, right? You did. Hey, yo. Don't forget to pick up. You're right. Oh, my God. That's my zesty bestie right there.
