It's Friday already. And that is beautiful. That is amazing.
Starting point is 00:02:40 Man, it's been a long work week. That's right. Yo, y'all crazy. It's been a long work week. Oh, my God. Jesus. It certainly has. Damn, it's been a long work week, man. But we made it through. That's right. And it's the weekend now. The weekend is here. Yeah, I'm happy to be here, man. Happy to be here. That's right. Well, today on the show, Keith Sweat will be joining us.
Starting point is 00:03:00 R&B legend, R&B icon. Our first guest of 2006, you know, you asked me, couldn't ask for a better guess. Keep Sweat is always an entertaining conversation. That's right. Yeah, Keith Sweat will be joining us. He's on a new tour called the R&B Lovers Tour. By the way, it is a lot of tours going out this year. And they're very nostalgic, but the thing I like about guys like Keith Sweat and even a new edition,
Starting point is 00:03:23 they understand that they got to make these prices reasonable for people. Yes, yes. So it's like, you know, folks that look at. for an escape, you know what I mean? Because there's a lot going on in the world. It's very heavy. It's very dark out here. People are looking for an escape and people like Keith Sweat. They understand that, you know, we got to go out on these toes. We've got to
Starting point is 00:03:37 make these tickets affordable. So it's not just him. It's him, Drew Hill. Joe and Genuine. And Cut Close. Come on. Come on. Don't forget about cut close. Yeah. So Keith will be going out on tour. He'll be talking about tour and everything that he has, that he's working on. And like you said, yes, I've got to get my tickets this week to go see new addition and Boystam.
Starting point is 00:03:54 Oh, I thought you would already win. And Tony Braxton. No, it just started. It didn't start you. Oh, damn, they came up here earlier. Yeah, they came up here early. They got to do routines. They got to do rehearsal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:03 They got to get back in shape. They got to do a lot. I got one of Keith's sweat candles lit in here right now, too. He has this set of candles called candles by Keith. He's got one called Make It Last Forever. I give all my love to you and twisted. And I asked the room, you know, what candles did y'all want me to light to set the mood? And y'all said, make it last forever.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Yes. Yes. Yes. Why you got your sandals on the table? You got new ones? Yes, first of all, these don't get. day sandals were given to me by Eyeslide. Long time ago.
Starting point is 00:04:31 About, yeah. Absolutely a long time ago. 13, 14 years ago. Yeah, yeah. And I wore them religiously every day in here. A lot of magic happened to these sneakers. My home girl, Bezzy Baby, salute to Bezzy Baby. She went to Eyeslide and got me some more made. So I have some new ones made. Okay. Okay. Because she was like,
Starting point is 00:04:48 I'm tired of seeing you weigh. Bezzy saying here. I don't care. I'm a cancer. I like comfortability, right? So, but these are great. So I'm wearing these now. Okay, good. You should put those in the box and you should retire them. No, I'm going to put them up
Starting point is 00:05:00 and hang them on the lights right here. I'm going to get the string and hang them on the lights. Nobody wants to like in the hood. Like what they used to do in the hood? Nobody wants to do no show with your tennis shoes over their head. They're going to do the show and however we present the show
Starting point is 00:05:12 because this is the breakfast club. God damn it. I mean, they are a staple. I mean, you know. I say put them in a box and put them in a glass or something. I'm going to hang them up from the lights. Watch.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Hey, just trying to figure out how to do it because, you know, they ain't got no shoe screens. I'm going to get me some strings. And I'm going to hang them up from the lights. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, I'm going to hang them up from the lights. Both people that come in here, they come from the same circumstances that we do,
Starting point is 00:05:32 so they'll understand. I didn't know if that light is strong enough. You blew that. Man, for a cold head, slides. Cut it out. Yes. I'm going to get Kiki Palmer and Sizzar to put them up on the, oh, no, they went and got them down. That was a movie reference.
Starting point is 00:05:46 But they were going to get them down. Don't worry about that. But, yes, I'm going to hang these up on the lights in here. All right. Well, let's get the show crack. And when we come back, we got front page news. She'll be breaking everything down. Mimi Brown is here.
Starting point is 00:05:56 And what we start on Friday with, man. Let's start with some two chains. The reason I want to start with two chains, man, because it is 2026, man. My guy, Two Chains has a book coming out called The Voice in My Head is God on March 3rd, 2006 via my book in print, Black Privilely Publishing. So let's start off with some two chains. Okay, no law. Classic.
Starting point is 00:06:15 All right back with Front Page News, Don't Move is the Breakfast Club. Good morning! When Kendrick said, I don't even like when you say the word. As I'm hearing Drake right now, I'm like, yeah, I don't like when he's... You just thought to notice it. I don't like it. This record is hard. I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:06:28 But make sure you go pre-order two chains a book. The Voice in My Head is God. On sale, March 3rd of this year. All right. Well, morning, everybody. Let's get right in the front page news. What's up, Mimi? Good morning, Mee.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Jash Jolomein. How y'all doing? Bees, Mimi, Brown. Well, we start with this day. So we're starting this morning with those growing protests. So demonstrators, they are spreading nationwide over that deadly ice shooting in in Minneapolis with protests now reported in Atlanta, Dallas, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and even here in New York City.
Starting point is 00:06:59 A 37-year-old Renee Good, she was shot and killed during an ice encounter as she tried to leave the scene. The ICE officer who fired the shots, he has now been identified as Jonathan Ross. A record show Ross is the same officer who he was dragged about 50 yards during a separate ice incident last June. That incident is now under reviewed scrutiny. But the outrage is not just about the shooting itself. It is now about who is in charge of investigating it. So Minnesota officials, they say the federal government has shut the state out. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, that's the state's top investigative unit.
Starting point is 00:07:36 They say they have now been blocked from the case. A state official say they initially agreed to conduct a joint investigation with the FBI, but they say federal authorities. They later reverse course and cut the state from access to interviews, evidence, and case materials. Now, because of that, the state said it, has reluctantly withdrawn from the investigation. Governor Tim Walls, he says the move is raising serious concerns about fairness and transparency. Let's listen to what he had to say.
Starting point is 00:08:02 That it feels now that Minnesota has been taken out of the investigation. People in positions of power have already passed judgment from the president to the vice president to Christy Knoem have stood and told you things that are verifiably false, verifiably inaccurate. they have determined the character of a 37-year-old mom that they didn't even know, don't know. So when he says the state is withdrawn from the investigation, does he mean for the moment? Because if the feds don't, you know, find anything, does that mean the state can't go after it after that? Well, this is essentially a state case, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Because it happened. But the feds are saying that, and I'm going to get to that because J.D. Vance, he came out and he spoke about that. So the state is saying, you know, we want to investigate this. And the feds are saying, no, this is the federal office. This was shot, so this is our jurisdiction, right? Vice President J.D. Vance, he told reporters it would go against precedent for state officials to be involved in prosecuting a federal agent. And he's arguing that the officer has absolute immunity under federal law. Let's listen to what he had to say.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Jesus. First of all, I wish the state officials in Minnesota would investigate why you have so many people who are using their vehicles and other means to actually interfere with a legitimate law enforcement operation. The precedent here is very simple. You have a federal law enforcement official engaging in federal law enforcement action. That's a federal issue. That guy is protected by absolute immunity. He was doing his job. The idea that Tim Walts and a bunch of radicals in Minneapolis are going to go after and make this guy's life miserable because he was doing the job that he was asked to do is preposterous.
Starting point is 00:09:41 The unprecedented thing is the idea that a local official can actually prosecute a federal official with absolute immunity. I've never seen anything like that. It would get tossed out by a judge. Nobody cares if his life is miserable when he took a life, but doesn't he have qualified immunity? Not in this case. Okay. Not in this case.
Starting point is 00:09:58 And the DOJ's own handbook goes against every way that shooting happened. It happened. Every way it went down. The DOJ, their own guidelines say that he was absolutely wrong in this shooting. It's also real sad. I saw a video yesterday. They had a candlelight visual for Renee. And agents was kicking a candle for her, not caring.
Starting point is 00:10:17 I saw that. You know, threatening, like, the people like, backup leave. you know what I mean? The disrespect, right? Yeah, very disrespectful. So what happens from here? So what could happen to him? So if anything.
Starting point is 00:10:29 Who knows, right? Because he's being protected. He's being protected. But, you know, President Trump has come out. The vice president has come out. Christine Nome. They're all protecting him right now. So, and with the state backing off, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:41 we have to wait and see what is exactly going to happen. And did you guys hear about the shooting in Portland? Because there was another... I heard about a shooting yesterday in Portland. There was another shooting in Portland. Two people, a married couple. They were shot yesterday by an ICE officer during a targeted traffic stop. And the Department of Homeland Security said they were conducting that targeted traffic stop
Starting point is 00:11:01 when the driver tried to run them over with their vehicle. And it prompted the agent to fire a defensive shot. Now, local officials, they say they don't know if that account is accurate. Because Portland's mayor, he says the city can no longer take the federal explanation at face value anymore. And he wants all ice operations halted outside of, uh, Portland right now. Were those American citizens too in Portland?
Starting point is 00:11:24 They were, I don't know if they were American citizens, but they said they were believed to be a part of the, what's that gang, the Traitaineals? No, the Tried to, I know what you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:11:34 You know what I'm talking about? That gang. So they believe they were part of that. I can't believe you can't pronounce it. I'm not Spanish. I am black. I am black. You know what I'm trying to say.
Starting point is 00:11:43 I'm black. And then the last shooting, there was another shooting that is flying under the radar this morning just a little bit. This one happened in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve. So there was a federal officer.
Starting point is 00:11:53 He was off duty and he killed a black man. Keith Porter Jr. The Department of Homeland Security says the agent was responding to what it described as an active shooter situation. Porter's family says the attorney, they strongly dispute that account. They acknowledged that Porter was armed. So basically he went outside on New Year's Eve and he shot his gun into the air to celebrate New Year's Eve. The officer lived in the same building that he lived in. He came out and there was some sort of like back and forth.
Starting point is 00:12:21 officer, the off-duty federal agent ended up shooting the man. There was no body camera footage. There's no camera. LA officials say the case is under investigation, but they say charging an officer, especially a federal officer involving those cases. It can take years. Local leaders, and especially his family in L.A., they are speaking out this morning. Let's listen to what they had to say. Were this anyone else, there would have been an arrest. You don't get to just murder people because you don't like what they're doing or how they're celebrating. We want him named. We want him arrested and we want him prosecuted.
Starting point is 00:12:58 We also want ICE out of L.A. And this man was never even taken into the station. He went back into his home after murdering my little cousin. It's a lot going on. I don't even know where to begin, but I want to go back to the Renee. Good situation for a second. The lack of empathy from Republicans on that issue is not surprising because those guys are one band, one sound in regards to their talking points.
Starting point is 00:13:20 but I believe the most valid question is simply how do you just dismiss any wrongdoing without an investigation? Right, and that's what state officials are trying to say. They're just saying, you know, this man is, he's innocent, she was guilty, but all the video evidence, I know we've all seen the video evidence, it shows we can see with our eyes what happened.
Starting point is 00:13:39 How are Republicans telling people they didn't see what we all saw? That should be crazy. And I don't give a damn about Republicans, our Democrats. I care about what's right and what's wrong. And what happened to Renee Good was wrong, period. And like Martin Luther King Jr. said, the injustice anywhere, as a threat to justice everywhere.
Starting point is 00:13:52 And as you could just, as you can tell from what Mimi Brown just reported, there's a lot of justice being threatened right now. That's right. Okay. All right. Well, coming up at 7, we're going to get into something that's going to affect your paycheck and I'll tell you how it works. God damn.
Starting point is 00:14:05 I know. I know. I know. It's affecting millions of people. We've got to talk about it. Come on at 7. Everybody else, get it off your chest. 800-585-105.1.
Starting point is 00:14:13 If you need to vent, phone lines wide open, call us up right now. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. This is your time to get it off. off your chest. 800585-1051. We want to hear from you on the breakfast club.

Starting point is 00:15:11 all sophisticated That Troy with an eye Please That's a beautiful name Thank you But I also too I just wanted to say that I didn't receive the box this yet. And I was wondering, could I give my, oh, in regards to the NWACP of Chesterfield?
Starting point is 00:15:28 What? Okay, so about two weeks until I called in because I'm throwing a sneaker ball for the mommy and me. And you were like, yo, Eddie, put her on home. Get her address. Me? Sounds like something you would say. For a sneaker ball. You don't remember?

Starting point is 00:17:01 What's your name? This is Nicole calling us from St. Louis. Hey, Nicole from St. Girl. Happy New Year. Happy New Year. What part of St. Louis are you from? East St. Louis or what's part of St. Louis?
Starting point is 00:17:11 No, actually, I stay in a small town in Illinois. It's called Caseyville, but St. Louis is just a That's the town. And rep your hood, man. Caseyville in the house. Caseyville. What's happening, Caseyville? St. Louis.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Rep Caseyville. Okay, well, you know, Caseyville is my house, then. Thank you. Thank you so many. Absolutely. Okay. DJ Envy, I heard you say that she was bringing
Starting point is 00:17:38 your car show to Dallas. Is that still true? Yes, I am bringing it to Dallas. We're working out the details now, finding a venue. So, yes, we all bringing it to Dallas this year. So you don't have a date then? Not as of yet.
Starting point is 00:17:50 The problem is where it's the venues. It's all up to the venues because we need three full days. So getting three full days and over 100,000 square feet of space and the time that we want to do it. It's a little difficult. But yeah, we got a bunch of markets coming up this year. I'm excited to announce in probably the next couple of weeks. But yeah, we are definitely coming to Dallas this year. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:08 So, yeah, I know I've been calling about my sister, Katie Odie and her books and everything. And I'm really trying to get her to be a vendor. So I'm trying to jump on it to figure out what we need to do. Okay. I love pre-planning. I know, I love it too. As soon as, you know what, we'll put you on hold. I'll shoot you Mercedes email my assistant and then she'll get you on board with everything.
Starting point is 00:18:28 But yeah, we should be announcing in the next couple of weeks. Give it to her another. And I have one more favorite. Mercedes email is Bigfoot size 12, 86. No, it's nice. Mercedes load. What's your last thing, Mama? One more favorite.
Starting point is 00:18:43 My husband, Dave, N. He's from Shreveport, and he was filled as you figure out when you guys are doing something in Shreveport again, please let us know. Because we go to Shreveport all the time, but we don't want to miss it. Yeah, 50s definitely coming back to Shreveport. He told me the date, but he's going to announce that. And he has a whole line up of things that he's going to be doing in Shreveport this year with shows and concerts and all types of things. But he'll announce it when he's ready. Okay, so just in case, after he announced it, you announce it too, because I don't want to miss it.
Starting point is 00:19:12 I definitely want to. Thank you for listening. Thank you so much to go. Thank you guys. Have a good one. Hello, who's this? Yo, yeah, good morning, good morning, people. Coach Davis.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Coach David, why your phone sound like that, man? Yeah, it's on. It sounds like you're the drum top. Hold on, I got you, how about now? Sound better? Yeah, you sound a lot better. I'm glad you put the top up. Oh, God, go, go, that.
Starting point is 00:19:32 What's happening? Hey, listen, so, hey, listen, man, first off, happy New Year to y'all, man. I'm glad you're back. Thank you, brother. Happy New Year. But, you know, I want to talk about the sister Renee Good, man. You know, I think they got that definition.
Starting point is 00:19:45 of domestic terrorists screwed up. You know? Back in the days, we had a gentleman by the name of Ted Kaczynski and, you know, the January 6th and Timothy McVeigh, those were real domestic terrorists.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Absolutely. You know? And to labor her as such is crazy. But we see what we're trying to do, man. They're trying to get us into martial law. They're trying to get people to react, you know, in a way that they can just come down with the full weight of law enforcement.
Starting point is 00:20:13 And, you know, we got to be smarter than that, man. And it's just sad that they have to go this way here. Yeah, right. Very sad situation. Very, very sad. Well, listen, you know what? I really, hey, listen, his is crazy. Ms. Jones off the air, Ebro off the air, and Steve Harvey's trash.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Y'all got to bring it, man. We don't got to do all of that. You know, we don't have to not. You got a 41. We don't have to do all that. 41. I'm playing. Y'all know what it is.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Steve Harvey is definitely not trash. The others are off air, but I don't got to hang on you. But Steve Harvey's not trash. I ain't going to let you disrespect the OG like that. Yeah, we're not going to do that. We're not going to disrespect any of the other individuals. No, we didn't. No, we didn't.
Starting point is 00:20:54 He just said they were all fair, which is true, but Steve Harvey is not trash. Yeah, I wish everybody's success, even if they wish me the opposite. Yes, absolutely. Salute to Ms. Jones. I know she's doing her thing on YouTube right now. She's doing YouTube in the morning. And that's where it stops. Sloat to Ms. Jones.
Starting point is 00:21:08 And Steve Harvey. This guy's playing. We got the ladies with Laura covered up. Good morning. We do. He's a little shit at man. Crazy.
Starting point is 00:21:16 I'm always shedding. Crazy. Crazy. It takes time. Who the hell are you supposed to be this morning? To, Haymark,
Starting point is 00:21:23 Tony Brackford. No, man. She's the girl from, Marcus, Domin. You look like you in some rom-com.
Starting point is 00:21:30 For Boomerane. Remember the one for Boomerang? Oh, Grace Jones. I thought you was going to say, y'all remember the episode
Starting point is 00:21:36 Martin when he went to go see the monks? Oh, wow. I thought you, I was anticipating in a giant show. A lot of somebody's rom-com where everybody know got a coke habit, but they don't say nothing.
Starting point is 00:21:45 Yes, I love that. The rich auntie, rich Jones is me. My life. I got that in Ghana. You're nice, though. Thank you. She ain't in high again.
Starting point is 00:21:54 What? Got a hoodie on backwards. In v. No, stop even though. It didn't even know. Oh, my goodness. All right. Good morning, guys.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Yes. The latest is here. Fettie Wap is home, y'all. So after serving three years of a six-year sentence, He is home and I have all the details. We're going to break it on down. All right. So we'll get into that next.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Salute the Fetty is the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Can remember you talk, L.L. Cube. Yeah. I'm not dumbing myself down. I'm being myself. Take me through that. That source is must.
Starting point is 00:22:27 I'm the home guy that knows a little bit about everything and everything. The little brand girls look at you and go, I want to be like you. Take me through that. The latest good. Take me through that. On the breakfast club. L.L. Cubber. Talk to me.
Starting point is 00:22:44 L.L. Coolbe. Lauren Larosa. Good morning. Okay. So yesterday, FettyWap was seen for the first time because he was released after serving three years of a six-year sentence. And I received the first statement that he sent out to the media. So he says, I want to thank my family, friends, and fans for the love, prayers, and
Starting point is 00:23:05 continued support. It truly means everything to me right now. My focus is on giving back to my community initiatives and my foundation, supporting at youth children by expanding access to education early tech schools and vision care for young kids and students so they can show up as their best selves.
Starting point is 00:23:21 I'm committed to moving forward with purpose and making a meaningful impact where it matters most. And it looks good too. He does. I also saw a video of him at his label and they were like excited for him to be there as well too. Yeah, I thought it was the Jennifer Hudson show. You know the long hauler? They had the tunnel.
Starting point is 00:23:37 I was like, damn they had a tunnel phone. First day out, Jennifer Hudson show. I forgot what he was even in prison for? So he was in prison for his role in a alleged like I guess I don't have to say alleged because he was convicted.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Trafficking cocaine heroin fentanyl, yeah, drug ring. Yeah, so when he was busted way back when it was some years ago,
Starting point is 00:23:57 he was locked up with over 500 grams or more of cocaine and thousands of dollars in cash. So the court decided to let him go a bit early which is a good sign because that means that he's been doing
Starting point is 00:24:07 well while he was locked up and showed the court that. But now that he's out, he will have like, strict guidelines because that was a part of his sentencing too for the next five years. So drug testing, he can't open bank accounts without approval from the feds. He also has to keep probation in the loop of like his earnings and his tax. This week, on the moment, we take a look at Venezuela's uncertain future in a conversation with two people who have directly advised U.S. presidents.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Juan Gonzalez, during the Obama and Biden administrations. We're really good at invading countries. We're very bad at nation building. In Carlos de Rosillo, during Trump's, two terms. I can guarantee you that nobody in the Trump administration likes Delci Rodriguez. Listen to the moment with Jorge Ramos and Paola Ramos on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or whatever you get your podcast. Information, no alcohol or drugs, of course, unless prescribed. And the court can even make it where, like, he has to do, like, an outpatient, like, drug program and then continue tested just because they're trying to make sure he's going to stay focused.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Like a halfway house. Not even really, like a halfway house. Just more of, like, a check-in, like, where he will have to continually be tested. day he just got to go in. Yeah, it'll just be a program that he'll have to go to whenever they. I can't wait to see him have some conversations though because, you know, he can make this a teachable moment because Fettywap had a run. Yes.
Starting point is 00:27:51 I was like a year and a half run. I know he made a whole lot of money. And I remember an interview he did with DJ academics where he talked about blowing a lot of money. I just want to know how you go from the run to blowing the money to back to, I guess being involved with. Well, he was hot as fire when he came out. And remember he was making so much money. Red hot.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Red Hot. What he had? Not hood hot either. Like, Mainstream. No. Even today you walk into like some stories. Like I remember I walked in like a Target and one of his songs was playing as like the commercial.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Yeah. Like even then it's still. But I know at the time when he was going through everything, that was what one of the judges had said to him. Like you had this great opportunity and you didn't. Obviously you sit here in front of me. So definitely this was a teachable time in his life. So those conversations will be ones to listen to. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:36 Now as we move on, Diddy is still as. asking Trump for pardon. So Trump sat down with the New York Times, with several different reporters from the New York Times. They did a wide-ranging interview about a bunch of different stuff. Now, in that interview, they began to ask him about different people he would pardon. Diddy's name came up, and he said that he received an additional letter from Diddy talking about a pardon, and he says that he has no plans to pardon him as of now.
Starting point is 00:29:02 50 cent did respond to that. He says that he's, you know, just telling Diddy, I told you to stop asking for a pardon. I've already told him what you said. because remember there were reports that Trump considered to not consider it because of things that did it said about him and he said that in an interview as well oh that means had a couple more zeros okay had a couple more my mom said that she said I wonder what's trump's price it's going to cost you a lot more damn okay yeah uh now switching gears a bit Anthony Joshua so over the break while we were not here you guys will know or probably know that Anthony Joshua was involved in a very serious car crash that killed two members of his team. So yesterday he posted very sad. Yesterday he posted on his Instagram
Starting point is 00:29:46 just thanking people for all the love. He says thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers, Latz, and Sina. I didn't even realize how special they are. I'll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men. A hundred percent
Starting point is 00:30:02 it's tough for me, but I know it's even tougher for their parents. I have a strong mind and I believe God knows their hearts, may God have mercy on my brothers with the prayer hand emojis. Yes, and that happened in Nigeria. Yeah, yeah, over the holiday that happened in Nigeria. Definitely sending healing energy to AJ and to the families, the two families of the individuals that were killed. If AJ never fights again, I'll completely understand.
Starting point is 00:30:25 Oh, yeah, same. I will completely, I know there was rumors that people were speculating that he might retire. If he never fought again, I could completely understand. Because how do you witness something like that and then emotionally and mentally prepare yourself to get back in the rank? I was his training brother, yes. Yeah, I totally agree. It was a scrimping conditioning coach and his personal training. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:42 And not to mention his friends. And you were in the car with them. Like you probably watched them and take their last breath. That's traumatic beyond traumatic. Very much so. Very much. So as we, you know, rap, you know, just want to mention in the next hour we are going to be, you know, talking about some more court things because, and this is switching gears, but salt and pepper. They remember that lawsuit that they filed saying that they should have their master.
Starting point is 00:31:06 They spoke about at the Hall of Fame, right? Yes, there was a lot of big conversation around that. A judge has decided to dismiss that lawsuit. And we're going to talk about what that means for them. And I also got a chance to speak to Herbie Love Buck yesterday, who is responsible for their careers and who was also mentioned in a dismissal. So we're going to talk about that. All right.
Starting point is 00:31:24 We'll get to that next. Now, coming up in a little bit, well, coming up next, Axe, we have front page news. And then Keith Sweat will be joining us. And don't go anywhere as the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Jess Salarious.
Starting point is 00:31:34 Shalameen de Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Such a long work week. Oh, my gosh. It's a Friday, too. I know sometimes you might be stressed. Don't think about doing the donkey, so you want to open it up for the people?
Starting point is 00:31:43 Yeah, today, you know, we've been gone for a couple of weeks, man. So, you know, on Fridays, we do the people's donkey. So call us right now. 1-800-585-1051, and you can give somebody the credit they deserve for being stupid. Call right now.
Starting point is 00:31:55 That's right. Well, let's get into some front-page news. What's up, Mimi? Good morning, I'mie. Sheth. Hey, girl. Shalame. How you doing?
Starting point is 00:32:02 All right, so we start this hour with a major federal move that could affect millions of American. So this week, the federal government, they started re, they started, let me do that again. We live. We live. We live. Okay, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:32:16 So we start this hour with a major federal move that could affect millions of Americans. So that move is the federal government. They have restarted wage garnishment for people who are behind on their federal student loans. The Department of Education says borrowers who are already in default,
Starting point is 00:32:31 they should have began receiving notices on January 7th, warning that money could soon be taken directly out of their paychecks. So more notices they're going out every month. So this marks the first major return of forced collection since the pandemic pause that ended right after the, when the pandemic ended in 2021-ish. So now what's happening in many families are already under major financial pressure. You know, we've got rising health care costs, affordability crisis, all of those things. And now the federal government says they want their money for your federal student loans. So the White House says that it's a lot of
Starting point is 00:33:06 It is restarting those collections and it is about accountability and it is about returning to normal enforcement. Let's remind ourselves what the White House have to say about collecting a student loan debt. The student loan portfolio controlled by the federal government is nearly $1.6 trillion. But fewer than four out of ten borrowers are in repayment. This is unsustainable, unfair, and a huge liability for American taxpayers. borrowers will now be clearly expected to repay their loans and those who defaults on their loan obligations will face involuntary collections. Okay, so here's how that process will work. So once a federal student loan is in default, the government does not need a court order to collect money. So employers, your employer can be instructed to withhold money directly from your paycheck up to 15% of your take-home pay.
Starting point is 00:33:57 So you're supposed to receive a 30-day notice before that garnishment begins, but if you ignore that letter, that does not stop. the process and with this fast-paced news cycle a lot of people have missed this information is flying under the radar so if you have a federal student loan you would want to go to a student aide.gov check your loan status make sure your contact information is current and if you get any mail from the Department of Education you want to open it or from your loan services you want to open it there are options to get out of default but you have to act so school me right because I didn't go to college so if you get a check for like let's just
Starting point is 00:34:32 say $1,200 How much do they garnish? 15%. So what's that? I don't know. $1,200 is about $1,200. Hold on. We got calculators right here on the phone now.
Starting point is 00:34:41 14. What do you say? Like 14, 1500. No. Damn, I bet. 150 or like, because 10% would be 120. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:34:50 So it'd be like 140. All you got to do is ask the phone. What is 15% and 1200? He's going to be like, she can't read all the man. A 120. Yeah, so that's $180. $180. $180.
Starting point is 00:35:01 But for a lot of people, that's a lot of money. Especially right now, right? So you really want to make sure that you go to, what did I say, federal student loan.gov and make sure that you are not. So, yes, it's studentloan.gov and check your status because those notices started on January 7th. Check your mail, check your email, and just make sure that they are not coming for your paycheck. See, Jess, aren't you glad you didn't go to college? I am a little bit now, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:27 You would have paid off your college by now. No, I still, well, what? What? What's the next story? You still owe what? I know you don't all Baltimore City Community College and that's not it. It's CCBC.
Starting point is 00:35:40 It's Community College of Baltimore City. So shut out. But go ahead, go ahead. All right, all right. Well, there. How much you owe to him? It got to be like $100. Right.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Yo, stop playing. Okay. All right. So, wait, there may be a small glimmer of hope, y'all, on the health care front this morning. So after months of fallout from the higher insurance cost, those affordable, Health Care Act subsidies. They expired at the end of 2025. We've been talking about that a lot.
Starting point is 00:36:07 So now in 2026, the impact is being felt. So for millions of Americans who buy their insurance on the ACA marketplace, premiums have doubled. Some people have been dropped from their insurance because they couldn't afford those new monthly costs. And others were, you know, they just simply were kicked off. And others, they voluntarily just said, okay, I can't afford these premiums. So now the House is trying to reverse some of that damage. Yesterday, the House voted to extend those ACA credits for three years passing the bill 230 to 196.
Starting point is 00:36:37 17 Republicans they joined Democrats to approve the measure. Supporters say that they're trying to restore those lower monthly premiums and help people who lost
Starting point is 00:36:47 their coverage to get back on insurance, but the deal is not done yet. It now will head to the Senate where it will face an uphill battle. Lawmakers on the Senate, they are split.
Starting point is 00:36:57 A similar three-year extension, it already failed. And Republicans, they are demanding change. including tighter eligibility rules, minimum monthly premiums, and a new anti-fraud measure.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Yeah, I believe they'll cut some type of deal to make it happen, and I think part of that deal is going to be calling it Trump care. Like officially changing the name and some type of something with Trump in the name. Yeah, but I would also tell people to call your insurance company because what they were doing is if the contract ended December 31st, you couldn't go back to your same doctor.
Starting point is 00:37:26 But there's certain things called post-op. So, like, if you had a procedure or something that only your doctor would know, the insurance company has to cover it. They have to cover it. And they give you three months to do that cover it. So if you had a surgery, let's say December and you have to go back to that doctor, it has to be covered because it makes no sense
Starting point is 00:37:40 to go to a new doctor when this is the doctor that treated you. He's the doctor that did the surgery. He's a doctor that did the breakdown. So call your insurance company because they give you, I think, it's a three-month grace period. Did they do post up after your nose job?
Starting point is 00:37:51 Envy? Continue. How did it get no nose job? And speaking of that, Envy. Not nose jobs thinking about something else day. Yes, yes. We're going to move on to flu C-stop. because, you know, the flu season this year has been very, very wild.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Man. Yeah. Crazy. It's been a rough flu season. It's been driven by a new strain that doctors are calling a super flu. Now, the CDC says the U.S. is seeing its highest flu activity in nearly 30 years. Nearly every state is reporting rising cases and hospitalizations are climbing fast. And New York has been hit especially hard between December 26 and January 2nd.
Starting point is 00:38:29 more than 4,500 people were hospitalized with the flu in a single week. And that's the highest number the state has ever recorded. Doctors say that hospitals are under strain, and they warn that we have not even reached the peak yet. It's crazy. And like I told you guys, for my littles, I tell you, my littles, which is London, Brooklyn, Jackson, and Peyton, they all got the flu. And it affected them in different ways.
Starting point is 00:38:53 Like I tell you, Peyton was in the hospital for 10 days. Brooklyn was in the hospital for two days. London and Jackson, it just went right through their sister. so it affects the bodies differently, but it is very serious. Take it serious if your kids have fever. Make sure you stay on top of their fever, ice rags to make sure that fever drops.
Starting point is 00:39:08 I know the physicians and the doctors, and if you go to urgent care, they'll say it just has to go through the system. That is true, but keep an eye on your kids. You know best, you know your kids better than anybody out there, any doctor out there. So if you feel anything, you rush them to the emergency room fast.
Starting point is 00:39:23 Do you still get the flu shot every year? I was just about the ex. Doctors are saying to get the flu shot, They say that, you know, this strain isn't perfect. It isn't a match for it, but it will help. It'll help lessen the symptoms. That's what they're saying, yeah. But one of the symptoms are you lose feeling in your legs.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Yeah. So, like, are the upgrading of the flu shot or? Well, the variant changes every year. The variant change is every year. I remember they used to do them up here at eye heart every year. Right. But they also said that not enough people are taking the flu shot. And because not enough people are taking the actual flu shot,
Starting point is 00:39:57 it's not covering people the way. that it should. It's not covering the community the way that it is shit because people are not getting the flu shot like this shit. So it's almost in some parts ineffective like it should be. You remember that time? It was years ago like we was probably two years in. You went and got the flu shot and you was like, did you go get your chip in your arm? They got the chip in the corner. I just went and got my chip. You should go get the chip in your arm. Yeah. And I said to myself everything Wendy Williams said about him and Clue is true. That is what I thought to myself. What you thought about him? It was a joke because they were saying that if you'd get the flu shot,
Starting point is 00:40:26 they're actually putting a chip in you and they're following you. So I was making a joke of it. He's... This guy's crazy. This guy's crazy. All right, y'all. Well, that is your front page news. Thank you, Mimi.
Starting point is 00:40:40 Uh-huh. Mimi Brown. Follow me at Mimi Brown TV. For more stories, follow the Black Information Network. Download the free IHeartRadio app or visit BINNews.com. All right.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Thank you, Mimi. Thank you, me, and all that good stuff. Because you're out of here, right? I'm out of here. I will be back virtually Monday, but I'll still be here with y'all. Okay, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Just through the screen. found out that this girl is from the South projects of Alaska. Alaska. You didn't know that? I said there are projects in Alaska. But you're not from the projects down in Alaska. I was going to say. It's not really projects. It's just
Starting point is 00:41:12 what they consider. But they got hoods down in. They got hoods in Alaska. Mountain View. Fairview. What do you say? Mountain View. You said. That's what they're saying. We're going to ski on your ass.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Let me. Damn. Wrap your hood. That's what they say it. All right. When we come back, Keith Sweeter will be joining us. We're going to chop it up with Keith Swears. So don't move.
Starting point is 00:41:34 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Just hilarious. Shalomaine de Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Laurelores is here as well.
Starting point is 00:41:42 We got a special guest in the building. The legendary, the icon. That's right. Ladies and gentlemen, Keith Sweat. What up, baby? How are you feeling? How you doing? How you doing?
Starting point is 00:41:49 Happy New Year, my brother. I don't need you. Same New Year, my brother. You ain't, you ain't missing no checks. I know that much. I don't know. I might be missing a few, but I'm going to go. Whatever they had, I'm going to go get them.
Starting point is 00:42:00 That's right. Now, Keith popped out at our jingle ball in Atlanta. Oh, I know he shut it down. Oh, man, at the Army set, man. He had ladies going crazy out there. Always do. You ever get tired of it? Nah, I love that.
Starting point is 00:42:12 You know, I love going on after some people. I got to make my statement. It's still the same. Ain't nothing chain. Make it last forever, baby. But your music has last through so many different generations, though. Like, it don't even matter what crowd keeps sweat pop up out. They know the work.
Starting point is 00:42:26 They know. Right. And you'd be up there with that cup. SMT. Now, you're going out on the tour with you, Joe, Drew Hill, and Genuon. Right, and I just had a cut close on my set, yeah. Really? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:42:42 Oh, that's dope. So where does, does it matter who closes out a show like that? Do you care? I mean, because you got the hits. You got the legacy. Do you care where you perform? I really, I really don't care, but nobody really wants to go on after me. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:42:54 But I don't really care because of the story. sweet spot normally is 930 10 o'clock at the show that's the sweet spot so you know sometimes people cry about you know but nowadays when people come to a show they're more concerned about what kind of show you put on they don't really care who head the line because you know it's like you as long as you rock the joint you know they're gonna talk about you so that's what I do I say you want to close or you're closed I don't care who put together the line up well you know you can't get be on my show unless I agree to it I got agreed to it so you know uh any any deals I do
Starting point is 00:43:27 it's like you got to tell me he was on the show before I agreed to it who all over there who all over there are we going to see you and cut close on the stage together doing some of the song and I bring them on my set
Starting point is 00:43:37 yeah fire this is crazy Joe Drew Hill Genuine you're gonna try dance because you got to compete with Genuine
Starting point is 00:43:46 you got to compete with Jen I don't need to dance I mean I don't need to dance I got I got Dancers I don't need to dance. You got my dance.
Starting point is 00:43:57 I got eight, 12 dancers, so I don't need to dance. I got you. You know, when people talk about R&B, Keith, like, your name is, like, foundational when it comes to R&B. At what point did you realize you weren't just making songs? You were, like, shaping a whole sound. I mean, when I came in, I knew I could do uptemple and slow, and they all had the same effect.
Starting point is 00:44:15 So, like, there's nothing I can, you know, like, I do Afrobeat, R&B, slow, or fast. It doesn't matter. So, I mean, I knew at that point Once I knew I could do whatever You know, I knew I would I would captivate, you know, the R&B audience because of the fact
Starting point is 00:44:32 You know, everybody in the Army game can't do everything Or you sound crazy if you're doing the slow-so If you're a balladea, you sound crazy Trying to do an uptemple joint It don't work for everybody How do you feel when, like, some of your songs Like, I know I won't be here for long It's like the TikTok
Starting point is 00:44:47 And even on Instagram, like it's like the go-to For a lot of the videos that people use But it means when that happens, like as an artist Like when you're watching it, how do you feel when you see people using your sounds across TikTok and Instagram like all these years later? I feel good about it because I felt like I did what I needed to do. I accomplished what I needed to accomplish. I made an effect on the whole generation. You know, so I feel like, you know, it makes me feel good.
Starting point is 00:45:11 It makes me feel proud about, yo, I created it because, you know, I write and produce all my joints. So, you know, me writing and producing my joints and people still loving it to this day makes me feel like, yo, I am. them that dude. Yeah, I saw you post, can somebody please explain to me how Mary go around ended up on Roblox? How did you even know
Starting point is 00:45:31 what the hell Roblox was? Because I know you wasn't on Roblox over here. No, I looked at that during, I was like, damn, what the hell is this? No, I don't even know, man. It's just, I look at Instagram and Facebook and YouTube
Starting point is 00:45:45 and I'm like, what the hell is this? But how did you hear he was on Roblox? I just happened to look at Cid. It's just happening. You ain't just happened to be on no damn road. Some chick house they got a loo kid. Look, Uncle, Uncle, Keith, this is a song. I'm on Rooblox in my life.
Starting point is 00:46:02 What's how you are? I'm younger than you. I'm on robox and whatever blocks. My block and my block. That's right. You're interested to know how you got a whole generation that's rediscovering, like, real grown, R&B.
Starting point is 00:46:24 So what do you think like modern R&B is getting right and what do you think that they're missing that they keep coming back to the OG stuff? Well, like I had a conversation
Starting point is 00:46:33 with pleasure and all some of them young brothers and I said, man, y'all, y'all keep saying R&B is dead. Y'all kill R&B because y'all want to curse it and songs.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Y'all want to act like R&B is a rap record. You know what I'm saying? I mean, R&B is full player. R&B is, you know, y'all took the whole four play game out to rap. If you're cursing
Starting point is 00:46:52 and you're trying to make up with your girl or whatever and you play an R&B song you curse and how you're gonna make up y'all y'all been arguing so now to break it
Starting point is 00:47:00 arguing with y'all you know you know what I'm saying they're joining the argument you know what I'm saying so that's not what R&B was about that's what
Starting point is 00:47:11 now R&B is to mello you know what I'm saying for y'all to sit down talk it out talk it out talk it out I don't
Starting point is 00:47:17 keep the game so that's why they keep sampling my shit because they like Omega Lad who can let you like me nobody you know you got me twisted girl you know what I'm gonna say I said that's what everybody's going back to that's why they're every sample in my my my my songs I got it to a
Starting point is 00:47:34 argument with this guy at Starbucks yesterday right two days ago he works there and he was talking about hip-hop and R&B and he was saying that people are making R&B hip-hop and I'm like that's not true I'm like there are some R&B artists that are hip-hop like Mary J. Blahs I say Chris Brown I said there are R&B artists that are not hip-hop and I'm like like keeps sweat is an R&B artist. So do you think that when you talk about the cursing in the music, do you think there's different levels of doing it, different ways of doing it, like the hip-hop version to R&B and then just R&B?
Starting point is 00:48:03 Well, back in the day, R&B was just R&B. Even when Mary did it back in the day, she still did the R&B. You know, so I think sometimes we as R&B artists have a tendency to do is we try to be, we create ourselves and we know, follow the trend of what everybody else is doing. which doesn't work for everybody. And it shouldn't work for everybody. I'm not trying to follow what everybody else is doing.
Starting point is 00:48:29 That's why I'm in this lane by myself or certain lanes by myself because I don't care what he's doing on the right or he's doing on the left. Because for so long, people have talked about Keith Sweat, but he don't do this, he don't do this. He don't do that. He don't do that. So now my point is I'm just laughing 30 years later and say, you thought I couldn't do this. I didn't do that because I didn't want to do this. What did they say you couldn't do?
Starting point is 00:48:52 What about the same? No way they say to dance. That's the only I heard. I could dance. You've seen me on something. Go back and look at something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm dancing.
Starting point is 00:49:01 You know, but, you know, like, for instance, like, I never won a BET Award. That's BET Pardling. I never won a Grammy. That's the Grammy. You know what I'm saying? But when I get on stage, I always say, y'all are my Grammys because, look, you know, everybody that has done that, they're not even still relevant. You know, I'm still headlining. And I'm still doing what I do.
Starting point is 00:49:22 So I'm still able to do tours and, you know, do six, seven thousand or more people. So, you know, Africa has been trying to get me over there for the longest. You know what I'm saying? They're trying to go up on the money more and more. Flea's me sweet me coming to sleep me. Why you won't go? I haven't been there. I've been to Africa.
Starting point is 00:49:41 I've been all over after. I've been to Cape Town, Durbin, you know, Johanersburg, Nigeria. I've been to Africa before. but, you know, I mean, you know, last time went into Africa, it was funny because they got me because, you know, he said, you're playing in Africa. I said, okay, so I'm in Africa, right? We're in the car driving. So I said, with the show. I said, oh, man, they're having a game over there.
Starting point is 00:50:08 It's packed out. It's a soccer stadium. He said, my brother, that's where you perform me tonight. I said, hold up. Wait a minute. Let me get this person on the phone. You tell them out. He said, it's so loud.
Starting point is 00:50:19 Soccer Stadium, standing room only. Hey, man. I called back to America. I said, man, if you don't put some more money in my house, I'm coming home. So that's the last time I've been, South Africa, when it was soccer stadium, you know, it was packed out. It was damn bad. And so. So you thought you was doing a smaller venue?
Starting point is 00:50:39 Oh, my God. Yes, I did. And then I see, and I said, man, it's there game there? No, that's what you at today. That's what you at. So now they're getting it all together. so, you know, they sent me some stuff. They want me Ghana, Sanbilla, you know,
Starting point is 00:50:55 them's Kenya, all, you know, they're trying to put a whole thing together. But I said before I go, I want to make sure. What stadiums are you doing? The stadiums and money got to be what it got to be. Do you think pain is necessary to make great R&B or can Joy be just as powerful in these love songs? I've never been happy making the love song. Damn.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Never? No, I mean, you know, like, my best, songs came from being hurt. Make it last forever. That first album was a hurt. It was all pain. And nobody was, I think, was all pain.
Starting point is 00:51:30 You know, like, we all go through things in our life. You know what I'm saying? And some people, you know, and it doesn't necessarily a female, you know what I'm saying? They ain't hit you at a, you know, where you least expected. You know, we could be like, one day and be like, what the, going on with the next? You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:51:44 So, you know, that's when I think I get my best ideas when I run in the studio after, you know, I'm going through something because that's like for me, therapeutic. I can write songs and it's very therapeutic for me and I'm like, oh my God, because I've written songs in two hours, three songs and two hours. And they were hits, you know, and it was
Starting point is 00:52:05 therapeutic for me. It was like me, you know, getting counseling, you know what I'm saying, that type of stuff. That's interesting you said that because a lot of your records do feel like conversations people were afraid to have in real life. So you are writing from personal experience. Right, right, definitely. I don't know if you want to share, but during the Make It Last Forever time, what was it that you were experiencing?
Starting point is 00:52:23 Oh, this girl cheating on me. Damn. So, oh, go ahead. So I was like, yo, so I went through a whole, it was like what I really went to, something just ain't right was really something just ain't right. Make it last was really, make it last. Don't stop your love was really, don't stop your love. How deep is your love was really, yo, you don't really love me like you say you love me.
Starting point is 00:52:45 Oh, that was one guy? Yeah. So, Megan last forever. She cheated on you with another celebrity, a ball player, or just a regular dude? Not, she's not. She came to what her school reunions then. Got a guy with one of old. You know, actually, I was in New York.
Starting point is 00:52:59 She came to Atlanta, and where I lived. And then her girlfriend told on her. Damn. Oh, damn. Did you get with a girlfriend? Then you knocked off a girlfriend. You knocked up a girlfriend. You knocked up the girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:53:13 You ain't, you're a girlfriend, man. Yeah, right. She's, f***ed. You twisted. I ain't want a girlfriend. You was a snitch. That is for laughing. So that's how you felt,
Starting point is 00:53:26 were you? You wasn't happy that the girl came to you and told you what was up? Nah, that shit made me hurt more. So you'd rather be cheated on in peace. You might not even know about it. I want to know what I don't want to know. You know, it's kind of like you want to know,
Starting point is 00:53:38 but you're somethings are better said and instead. You know what I'm saying? You know how that is. You want to know what you don't want to know. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, I'm like, damn, do I really want to know? because some things will hit you harder knowing.
Starting point is 00:53:51 Getting that confirmation. Yeah, so sometimes you always had that little bit and you would say, well, maybe that didn't happen. You know, but once you know it did happen, you'll be on a whole other level, man. So you thought she was cheating? Like, you already had that. I had it in my mind, but she put that confirmation.
Starting point is 00:54:08 Give you that clarity. And I was like, damn, girl. You ever go back to check out she's doing it. Like, I hope she's doing bad now. You check on Facebook. I want everybody cheats. on me to do bad. You want to know what my evenings actually look like?
Starting point is 00:54:22 Homework questions. Someone needs a permission slip signed. The dog's begging for a walk. Someone's yelling for a snack. And on the podcast's Health Stuff, we're resetting the way we talk about our health. Which means being honest about what we know, what we don't know, and how messy it can all be. I like to sleep in late and sleep early. Is there a chronotype for that, or am I just depressed?
Starting point is 00:56:08 We talk to experts who share real experiences and insight. You just really need to find where it is that you can have an impact. in your own life and to start doing that. We talk about all the ways to keep your body in mind, inside and out, healthy. We human beings, all we want is connection. We just want to connect with each other.
Starting point is 00:56:37 Health stuff is about learning, laughing, and feeling a little less alone. Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, I'm Jorge Ramos. This week, on the moment, we take a look at Venezuela's uncertain future in a conversation with two people who have directly advised U.S. presidents. Juan Gonzalez, during the Obama and Biden administrations. We're really good at invading countries. We're very bad at nation building.
Starting point is 00:57:04 In Carlos D.Rosillo, during Trump's, two terms. I can guarantee you that nobody in the Trump administration likes Delsi Rodriguez. Listen to the moment with Jorge Ramos and Paola Ramos on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcast, or whatever you get your podcast. How many people was it? Anybody. Now that's the, that's people mentality. Because if you, if they do, if they, they, they, they, and they, and they, and you're doing good, they hate that.
Starting point is 00:57:30 That's the word. They look at you. Oh, God. Oh, man. Oh, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? But if you're doing bad, they'd be, oh, thank God I left that one. So you be born, it's kind of like, it's selfish.
Starting point is 00:57:43 Yeah. But it's real. And if somebody say that's not true, they lie. I don't care what nobody said. You know, it's interesting, people would think that you were a player and you out here sleeping with a bunch of a girl and stuff,
Starting point is 00:57:53 but you seem like you was a one-woman man. What a dude? Look at you. You were faithful in that whole situation before you found out she cheated? I think I was. I think I was. No, I think I was.
Starting point is 00:58:12 So she wasn't cheating back? No, no, no. I think I'm, because I was into her. Oh, I got you. You know what I'm into somebody? I ain't trying to mess it up. Mess it up. But if I ain't really into you,
Starting point is 00:58:22 because, you know, sometimes you think you into somebody and you ain't into somebody, then you see something else walking out. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You can be in love, but you still got eyes. Right. But them eyes don't, you know, can't be open.
Starting point is 00:58:37 But so I'm funny, man, because, you know, you know, if I'm into you, I'm into you. But if I see the slightest little bit of, you know, something that you ain't doing right. Then I'm like that. Right now I'm going through that. You know what I'm going to?
Starting point is 00:58:53 They think they slick, but they ain't slick and I'm putting them out there for y'all. Okay. Hold on. That's right. Got a little last. Go. Okay, explain.
Starting point is 00:59:05 They think they slick. What they doing? What's happening? When you're doing wrote songs about bangs, when you're on the spirit of thing, you know when somebody being slick. You know what I'm saying? When somebody's doing banging somebody else too.
Starting point is 00:59:18 You know what I'm saying? So you know what I'm saying? And they, you know, they have a tendency to play that, though. I'm a good girl role. Don't play the, like, yo, my attitude is this, right? To anybody, right? And this is the truth. If you want to open a relationship, just say,
Starting point is 00:59:32 yo, I want to do my thing. You do your thing when we back together. Be together. You know, you take care of things with me when I'm with you. And if you won't be with the next man, let him do what he do with you. Because if that's what you want to. There's nothing wrong with that because now you've been out.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Because nowadays you don't want to play with people's feelings and emotions. It's a dangerous game out here when you're playing with people feelings and emotions. So it's like I tell people all day long, that's not something to toy with. You know what I'm saying? Because if you ever been hurt, that joint ain't no joke for real. And some people can't handle pain, that kind of pain. I can handle it. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:00:10 You know what I'm saying? Everybody can't handle it. So it's like it's better for people. people say, yo, this is what I want to do. You do you, when you do you, I do me. And then when we want to be together, we do it. Yeah, but you cannot make somebody, or you can't ask somebody to do certain things
Starting point is 01:00:26 that only your real significant others should do and playing games with them. That is not something to toy with. So you got to make a real commitment. I was going to say, are you in a relationship right now? Are you in a relationship right now? Sometimes I think I am. Okay.
Starting point is 01:00:41 Man, you got to stop with this. You think you are. What are you talking about? How does she know when she's playing games? Like, what are y'all, y'all have, like, boundaries or, like, a certain situation set up? Like, there's, like, like, are you exclusive? Like, what is she playing? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:54 Hey, yo. You're supposed to be. Oh, so y'all are supposed to be exclusive right now. Right, but it doesn't work like that. She's wearing a wire, Keith. Don't talk to me. She's wearing a white. Ready to go back and tell the girl.
Starting point is 01:01:03 Don't tell her. No, I'm just trying to figure it out because I just want to know where you coming from. Okay. You got it. I know you know. Okay. He begged up from the mic and that. He's like, no.
Starting point is 01:01:13 No. What's the closest you think you ever been to get married? I've been married before I didn't know you're married yeah a long time ago don't bring it up though yo damn
Starting point is 01:01:23 what era of what age was this you are crazy man don't bring it up we got to move on to another stuff yeah it did last
Starting point is 01:01:32 man who do you listen to when you're going through a heartbreak because people listen to your music when they're going to you sweat you just go in there write something
Starting point is 01:01:39 you think I'm playing no I'm not playing I don't want to hear nobody else singing to me when I'm going to a heartbreak. I want to hear me sing to me say, yo, this is how you fixed your situation. I promise you, I do not listen
Starting point is 01:01:51 to nobody else when I'm going to heartbreak. Because I've written too many songs to heal myself, you know what I'm saying? I go back and listen to you know, because I've written for Drew Hill, Brian Isley, immature, everybody, right? So I can listen to some of them songs, you know what I'm saying? Okay, because like I said,
Starting point is 01:02:09 every time I've been through a situation, I've been able to write So I can go to maybe the second, third album, and listen to something that'd be like, huh. Damn. And it might heal me. I feel good. You know, I feel good about it.
Starting point is 01:02:24 But can the R&B singer have a night off, right? And what I mean by that is you guys sing to these ladies, and you guys, these ladies desire you. When y'all get into the bedroom, y'all can't have a night off because it's over. Well, that's over. Because you can't have it? Because you are R&B singers.
Starting point is 01:02:39 What you're trying to say? Like, what do you mean, like, you got to put it down? Yeah, like, if you don't. He said you always got to put it down. Is the pressure there for you? I don't know why he asking you that, but that ain't no pressure for me, man. He said, you're talking about. There's pressure for you.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Your goddamn lie. That lady gave you some chicken wings and sent you on your way. Hold on, let me ask you a son. You're not an R&B, but you're a celebrity, so is there pressure for you? It's my wife. There's still pressure on wife. Yeah, yeah. I'm glad you both said it.
Starting point is 01:03:07 No, no, no, no, no. No. In his first book, he took. Talks about how he didn't make his wife orgasm for 10 years. Get out of here. Keith. We made each other when we were 15 and 16. I don't matter.
Starting point is 01:03:26 You were 10 years? What was wrong with the joint? What was wrong with the joint? It wasn't that. Shout out again, man. Shut out again. I used to think sex was porn. You just go bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
Starting point is 01:03:43 bang, bang. I was 16 years old, 15. Hey, man. And I made it my... My mouth just not for my... I had to learn. Oh, man. The sock it wasn't working. That's for all. A decade. I'm not telling you another... You were a 20 boat.
Starting point is 01:03:56 Oh, right. All right. Envy. He did a lot of you... Man, listen. Anything you understand now about relationships that you wish you knew when you was writing them Heartbreak record?
Starting point is 01:04:10 Nah, I think I understand everything. I understood stuff back then, but, you know, like, it's always wishful thinking. You know what you know. But, you know, we just have wishful thinking. We hope that when we get into something, it's going to be, you know, perfect, but ain't nothing perfect. So, you know what I'm saying? So the things I felt that it could be, ends up being that way, you know what I'm saying? So we all have wishful thinking.
Starting point is 01:04:32 We all want certain things to be amazing and great. That's why I said, make it last forever, because that's wishful thinking. That's what make it last forever was about. which we're thinking we want everything to last forever. But it's just not that way. You know what I'm saying? It's just going to, you know, you're going to have bumps in the road and anything you're doing life.
Starting point is 01:04:54 It's going to be some bumps in the road. Is there anything you're still trying to prove, right? You mentioned you didn't get a beat to your war, no Grammy. Is there anything that you want or you're just, right now, it's all like I'm just having a good time and for him. God is good, and I'm just happy that I'm, like, when I grew up in the grand, you know, I grew up in the project, This hog, Grand Prairie.
Starting point is 01:05:13 On 25th Street, more, until I'm in the Amsterdam. Like, for me to even be where, I'm somewhere where I never thought I would ever be. Never had an idea, you know, all my dreams from me walking down the street, watching OJ's on the, like the Apollo, the Palo,
Starting point is 01:05:29 glad the night, the Marquis, all the people, Teddy, saying, damn, maybe one day I'll be there. You know what I'm saying? And to have accomplished that, and more than ever I thought I would have accomplished, you know. To me, you know, I've gotten my heart's desire. And you know what I'm saying? I got more than what, because there's a lot of people that will never ever get their hard desire,
Starting point is 01:05:53 things they dream about in life. So I think we are blessed, you know, for all those that have gotten certain things in life, we're definitely blessed to have been able to build and get what a lot of things out of life that most people will never get. Yeah, but, you know, I think about like a Habit, Hon, Teddy Riley, like, That was maybe 10 years ago now, right? They got to do that for you. Because if you want to do a new Jack swing tribute, definitely salute the Teddy.
Starting point is 01:06:20 What? What? First of all, if you don't give it to me when I deserve it. Like I told my daughter, God forbid I leave here today tomorrow, you better not take no award they try to give you now. You know, don't try to give me my flowers when I'm not here. And then, like, I'd be seeing them do that to people. And I'm like, yo, you never really ignited them like that when they was head. Come on.
Starting point is 01:06:39 I don't want that. you know what I'm saying it's like I'm the man that I am I'm you know I teach my kids to be the same way you know be proud men don't be take a hand out you know what I'm saying don't give it to me because now you want to make this big
Starting point is 01:06:54 thing and you want people to come and ignite it man that's for the networks and that's not me but you don't think that it adds like just education around your legacy because there are a lot of people who don't know your role in the new Jack swing here I'm doing my own documentary and put my own
Starting point is 01:07:08 there you know But there's so many people you're influenced, though. I don't need to do, you know, because I got my money to do my own doc. Eight, nine, ten episodes if I want to do it, put it all together. And that's what I do now. You know what I'm saying? You won't buy this? You won't buy this?
Starting point is 01:07:29 I own it. That's how you do things today. I'm not going to do that. That's why I never did it on song and none of that other stuff, right? because I'm not going to let you have my thing and show it at any time you want to show me. This is not a way. You can't do that to me.
Starting point is 01:07:46 So I'll do mine, sell it to you, and then I'll tell you when I want you to show it. Then I want you to want you to stop to show me. And you don't want to tell you a story. Right. Yeah, because half the people of the stories that are told are not real story. They're not true.
Starting point is 01:07:59 And they leave a lot of tape on the floor and we want to show the neck with one to show what they want to show. They can fabricate things. Fabricate things. I don't want that. You can't fabricate things. You know, I mean, it's just like, Everybody said the new jackswing started on my first album.
Starting point is 01:08:13 No, it did not start on my first album. I was with Sucha Records, Mars Levy, Adam Levy, when they had the Fat Boys, I was producing for Sucher Records back in the day. You know what I'm saying? I got two records on the end of that. All I wanted my baby. My mind is waiting.
Starting point is 01:08:27 I was with Tony Lopez with GQ. You know what I'm saying? Back in the day on 165th Street on Woody Crest Avenue in the Bronx. You know what I'm saying? So my legacy extends. y'all just know the make it last for ever part you know what I'm saying
Starting point is 01:08:42 with people thinking don't stop your love was my first song that's what I got my deal on don't stop your love it wasn't on I wanted it was on don't stop your love so you know and Benson Davis gave me the deal with entertainment and that's where it all started
Starting point is 01:08:57 what made you want to do radio and you got your radio show I was so long ago you did that for her yeah but what made you want to do radio I don't know dot winners No, it's like, he's just like, he said, yo, I said, let's do radio. I just did radio because it was like the next thing, my next move.
Starting point is 01:09:17 Everything is the next move. Like, you know, like executive producer movies. All the shit you do is my next move, my next move, what's my next move? You know what I'm saying? That type of stuff. So I'll be on that next move thing, you know what I'm saying? Got a candle line. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:31 Planting a bag. You want to smell like freak me. You can put it on. You won't smell like, make it laugh, put it on. Nah, because the candle line is a different scent. What do I got my candles? What I mean, my... Can't be here with all kind of bag.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Don't worry about it, don't worry about sleep. Don't worry about sleep. Don't worry about sleep. Don't worry about sleep. Don't know what you mean. Candles by Keefe. Oh, this smell good. I even open the box and smell good.
Starting point is 01:09:56 Oh, my God. Oh, this is fine. I'm a candle guy. You're just going to come getting candles just one side? Okay, what that candle say? We got shed these or they got some... This one says, um, um, candles by Keith, make it last forever.
Starting point is 01:10:07 This one is I give all my love to you. This one is twisting. God, damn. They smell amazing. Damn, I want one. Y'all got three candles apiece. I want one, but they gave me one baby. I don't know what kind of bag.
Starting point is 01:10:17 You're special because I'm going to tell you, Keith gave all the brown skinned and dogsky people in here. You know. You can't get it. What's wrong with that? Hey, what's wrong with that? Because you. No, they told me you're always in Atlanta.
Starting point is 01:10:28 I can over night your bag. I'm just messing with you. I'm all good. Or you better. Or you better bring in your hands to Atlanta and come to my house and you can pick whatever one. That's right. That's fine.
Starting point is 01:10:36 That's right. Don't worry, because I'm calling you later on for something else. Well, you called me before. I see you leave a comment on my daughter. There's a page that she'd get married. Me, you last forever.
Starting point is 01:10:46 I left a comment. Yes, you did. No, I didn't leave no shit. Okay. He needs you to sing. Not like you act. Like, you want you to sing.
Starting point is 01:10:56 Oh, no. She used your song. She used your song. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, I know you're saying. Holy shit. You're saying at the wedding, Pia.
Starting point is 01:11:09 Oh, oh. You just saw them when they got the game. And you said, man. You're like, I have to jump there and go to. I don't know you. Is it a that I say no. Oh. Yo, that is funny.
Starting point is 01:11:24 You keep sweat is going out on tour. 30 city tour. Kick it off on the 13th of February. Yeah. That's Valentine's Day. That's right. And go to keithwet.com for the candles. Keep Sweat.com.
Starting point is 01:11:36 Everything on Keepsweat.com. Appreciate you, Keith. Man, always a pleasure, my brother. That's right. Make sure you get your tickets, your candles, and your bags. It's the Breakfast Club. And when he comes to my house,
Starting point is 01:11:48 he'll get his. And I didn't hit up on Meggin' last bed, but boy, that was scary to me. It's what you think of at the wedding. It's the Breakfast Club rewarded. Salute to Keith Sweat again. Keith Sweat actually called me.
Starting point is 01:12:03 and said he likes my light skin ass and he's going to send me everything next day. I don't like the way you talk, bro. I don't like the way you talk. I just don't even like the way you speak. He called me and said he liked my light skin ass, so he's going to send me everything. And then how you know you want you to say it like that on the radio? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:12:18 Listeners we got. That's just nasty. Let's get to the latest with Lauren. Yeah. I'm not dumbing myself. Damn. I'm being myself. That source is my friend.
Starting point is 01:12:32 I'm the homeguard that knows a little. little bit about everything and everything. The little brand girls look at you and go, I want to be like you. Take me through that, take me through that. Where she's going? The latest with Nariu'll know. Take me too down. On the breakfast club.
Starting point is 01:12:46 L.L. Cool back. Talk to me. All right, guys. So salt and pepper. So back in May of 2025, they had filed a suit against Universal Music Group. And they alleged that Universal Music Group was holding their music hostage by not allowing them to reclaim control of the music's intellectual property. So what they were arguing was that law that 35 years after the music's release,
Starting point is 01:13:12 they're supposed to be able to file to terminate their contracts and then own the master recordings of their music put out on this deal. Now, Universal Music Group pushed back and they said, no, that is, you can't do that because you guys didn't originally sign the contract. So you don't have the power to then act to terminate the contract to then own the master's. recordings. So Universal Music Group acts for that lawsuit to be dismissed.
Starting point is 01:13:37 A judge has granted that dismissal. And the dismissal after being reviewed, the judge granted it because the judge says that salt and pepper had ownership, that salt and pepper had granted ownership to their first
Starting point is 01:13:53 label, which was noise in the attic, Nita Productions. And that contract for the recordings was between Next Plateau Records and Nita. So in the latter of which, so Nita, Nita. was owned by Herbie Lovebug, who, you know, is like manager responsible for a lot of Salt and Pepper's career and putting them on. So basically what the judge is saying is that they weren't the ones who signed the contract so they can't terminate the contract.
Starting point is 01:14:16 It's not UMG's issue. Now, I reached out to Salt from Salt and Pepper who did not get back to me. I also reached out to Herbie Lovebug, and his only response to me was, he says my comment. Mind your business. No, he says my comment. He says my comment is this question. why didn't need a file for termination? And basically what they are,
Starting point is 01:14:36 basically what he's leaning in on is if that is true, we would have just went about it that way. So there will be some more arguing here because one of the things that Salt and Pepper has been saying for a while, even when they did a sit-down with Good Morning America before they did the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is that this contract is from like 40 plus years ago and they're being held to things that make no sense at this point.
Starting point is 01:14:55 So, you know, I haven't heard from Salt and Pepper directly, but I can only assume that this fight isn't going to stop here. Yeah. I hope they get what they deserve. Yeah, and Universal Music Group has run on the record to say, and even after this, they've released another statement saying that they've tried to mediate this behind the scenes outside of this lawsuit. They want Salt and Pepper to be paid.
Starting point is 01:15:12 They want their legacy to, you know, be amplified and all the things. And they were trying to figure out a way to pay them directly. But obviously, that wasn't enough for Salt and Pepper. So they decided to, you know, take means or matters into their own hands. I just don't understand why everybody wants to exploit everybody. Like, that production company shouldn't want to exploit Salt and Pepper. They didn't make so much money off. And then, like, why not at this point, you know, do something that is.
Starting point is 01:15:31 fair and equitable for everybody across the board. Right. Yeah, I think the issue is, though, everybody is... Definitely because they got their money back. I'm sure times a hundred. Absolutely. You know what I mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:41 They should do us right. So on Peppas shouldn't have to fight like this to be a legacy group like that. They should have to be. How much more season than do you need? Yeah. Hey, yo. I'm glad you laughed, Jessica.
Starting point is 01:15:52 I mean... So in other news, speaking of potential exploitation, so there was a story that DMX was going to... to be ordained as a minister and this story I mean to me it came out of nowhere they keep saying envy said it but I think we reported it you weren't here I wasn't here but I think you gave me a bunch of stories
Starting point is 01:16:13 to report so I reported it well it had no do with me so I don't remember that story I don't know where this I don't remember you reporting that story did you did that's okay well look let me want to okay if you want to be one that said TMAX's the minister I'm not going on envy because they're I'm not going to take that from you envy. Go ahead. Continue on. Just ignore him. I was trying to help you. I don't know what you're doing here. I'm ignoring him. Okay. So there's a church, a foster memorial, A.M.E. Zion Church, who wanted to honor DMX by giving him a minister title. And his estate is rejecting it. So the estate, the estate gave a statement. And, you know, what they're saying is that, you know, the plan ceremony that was announced for DMX is not sanctioned or approved by the estate. I was trying to figure out what. what the connection between him
Starting point is 01:17:03 and the church might have been. And what they're saying is that there's no direct connection to the people that are, you know, planning this ceremony. So they're rejecting it. They don't, they're not in support of it. Brief update there. I also talked to, I didn't talk to him, but Ray J. text me back yesterday too.
Starting point is 01:17:19 Oh, speaking of brief updates. Well, say, come on now. Come on, Lauren. Please. You went too far, Lauren. Okay. I know you got sources, but come on. Y'all, that was not funny.
Starting point is 01:17:28 You know that did not happen. That was wild, Lauren. Even say that. I talked, I reached out to the estate. I'm sorry. Ray. So you said it, yo. Let me separate that because I reached out to the estate.
Starting point is 01:17:39 Don't say that. Oh, my God. That's crazy, Lauren. I had text Ray J to check on him. Remember I told y'all that? He texted me back yesterday. He said, of course, he's not all the way better. He said his lungs are tripping.
Starting point is 01:17:51 But. His lungs are tripping. Yeah, he sent the emoji. He sent the emoji. Lungs emojis. He sent the emoji said, they're tripping. And I said, you'll be back to, um. I think he meant his heart.
Starting point is 01:18:02 Okay. Yeah, because I talked to him yesterday, too. He said his heart is tripping. He said, he said, whatever. He said, he said, you know, he did. No, he's his longer. He gave, he gets Charlotte made more words. He just put the emojis in tripping with me.
Starting point is 01:18:15 This is a long emoji. And I said, are you good? He said he's not good yet, but, you know, he's still fighting to get better. So I just wanted to give you guys that brief update. Because you already know, and he told me about his heart. You know who I told him he need to come see. You got to come see our guy, Dr. Pooleman. That's right.
Starting point is 01:18:27 I'm going to see, I'm going to see Dr. I thought you was about to say Dr. Umar. All right. Oh my goodness. Don't get it. I want to shout out to Dr. Puma too. So if you know, explain to the people what Dr. Puma does. Dr. Puma has something called the soaring heart scan.
Starting point is 01:18:41 And I'm telling you, man, it's like a four-minute procedure. And, you know, you go inside this machine. And he can look at your heart from a 3D perspective. You can see everything that's in the arteries. You can see blockages, all types of stuff. It will really put your mind at ease if you're a person who, you know, just always is dead. dealing with some type of heart issues.
Starting point is 01:19:01 And not only that, when I was dealing with the stuff of my daughter, I called Dr. Puma, because we were transferring from Jersey to the city. And advocates are important. And he called, like, a bunch of specialists and had them there waiting for them. Like, when they pulled up, they had the specialist waiting for my daughter
Starting point is 01:19:16 to get out of that ambulance. And salute to you, Dr. Puma. I really appreciate you. Great guy. They're really, really, really good guy. No, for real. No, sure, I told, well, I didn't tell the audience, but yesterday I found out that my mom's health insurance
Starting point is 01:19:28 was canceled. We didn't know that so she can't get her cancer skin, like her checkups. So I've been calling everybody I can and see what we can do in the meantime because you shouldn't let stuff like that lapse. Did you talk to Mimi because some of it has been I talked to Mimi yesterday and today on the podcast, the latest with Lauren the Rosa Mimi Brown is going to be a guest
Starting point is 01:19:44 because I want to have a conversation about what people can do in the interim because we're dealing with this and my mom still needs her skins and we need some advocates. So let me know what you're doing out there if you guys are experiencing this. All right. Now, Solomon, donkey today. Who's the people's donkey today? All you got to do is call up 1-8005-105-1,
Starting point is 01:20:01 and you can give somebody the credit they deserve for being stupid this morning. All right. We'll do that next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's your time to nominate a donkey of your own. Remember now? That's how they choose.
Starting point is 01:20:16 Call in now. 800-585-105-1. Donkey here today for Friday, January 9th. You know how we do on Fridays, man. We haven't been here in a couple of weeks because we was away for holiday vacation. but every Friday we do the people's donkey. So that gives you the opportunity to call in and give somebody the credit they deserve for being stupid.
Starting point is 01:20:35 So good morning. Who's this? Hello. Good morning. This is Dr. Avaehae who is a baby representative, 757? Virginia, what's happening? Who you want to get a biggest he-hawn to, sir? I want to get the biggest he-haw for people who vote against their own best interests.
Starting point is 01:20:48 You know, I'm part Latino. I love Donald Trump, and now my grandma gets deported, and I don't know what to say or do. That is a great. People who say, oh, I love Ozpic, but now my premiums just went up. And now, oh, my God, my weight loss shot is now $500 a month. Yeah, I don't give a damn about those people who are taking Ozpic to lose weight.
Starting point is 01:21:09 But I will say this, right? I wonder about those Latinos. I really was thinking about that over the holidays randomly one day when I was high. I'm like, what are you thinking right now if you voted for Donald Trump and your grandma or somebody you loved did get deported? Like, what is your community saying, sir? Yeah, yeah, what are you thinking? As Charlotte, man, I want to say, man, congratulations to you.
Starting point is 01:21:28 you. I really love what you do. I'm so glad that you have that contract. I'm just, I'm just proud of you, brother. I've been listening to your show a long time. I've been through divorce. I earned a doctor degree. You brothers pick me up on times when I was down, brother, and I really want to just say, I love y'all. Thank you. Thank you, King. Appreciate it. And here's a quick question. I wrote a book. If I have some talent and I want to give you my book, is there a way I can reach out to you? It's currently on Amazon, but I was like, I would love for you to read it if you got a free What's the name of it? I'll go, I'll go look at it on Amazon. What's the name of it?
Starting point is 01:22:01 You can just put it by my name, Cisle Avery, and the title of the book is Not Broken, Just Building. C-Sill, oh, I like that title. C-So Avery, Not Broken, Just Building. All right. I'm going to look that. It's currently on Amazon. And if you like it, I want to be thinking it's trans.
Starting point is 01:22:17 Just do something what you think, but I would love to get your opinion on. I'm looking at it. A real-life guide to thriving after betrayal, break up, and heartbreak. Yes, sir. Okay. Yes, sir. This is him on the front? With his hands up.
Starting point is 01:22:28 No. Not that big. I hope that's not that big head, man. That looks like an alien. That don't look like nothing from this planet. T-So that ain't your head on the cover of your bucket. Anyway, good morning. Who's this?
Starting point is 01:22:37 Hi, this is Kim. He's Kim. Who you want to get the biggest he-hard too? Okay, so I want to give Dunkett a day to a couple of you celebrities, like you famous people, you Beyonce, all y'all. Because y'all see us dying out here and y'all don't say shit. Y'all keep asking us to go to your concert. Y'all keep asking us to buy your book,
Starting point is 01:22:57 for most of y'all's s'all. But y'all see us down and y'all don't say anything. So where is your open-win-for-rich for people? Why y'all not talking? Because these people is killing us. So what's all happen is, I may encourage them to start robbing y'all. We need to start going to y'all's taking y'r. We can't fight the military because they're going to both wash them off, but we can go and steal y'all's shi because y'all don't give a f*** because if y'all gave a f***, y'all, y'all would do more than what y'all do besides sitting on y'all. You want to know what my evenings actually look like? Homework questions. Someone needs a

Starting point is 01:24:49 Hi, I'm Dr. Priyanko Wally. And I'm Hurricane de Bolo. Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This week, on the moment, we take a look at Venezuela's uncertain future in a conversation with two people who have directly advised U.S. presidents. Juan Gonzalez, during the Obama and Biden administrations.
Starting point is 01:26:03 We're really good at invading countries. We're very bad at nation building. In Carlos D.Rosillo, during Trump's, two terms. I can guarantee you that nobody in the Trump administration likes Delsi Rodriguez. Listen to the moment with Jorge Ramos and Paola Ramos on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcast, or whatever you get your podcast. We are at this dying, dying, y'all don't care. They're taking our money.
Starting point is 01:26:25 They're not tired. you they're taking our shit y'all not benefiting from that y'all benefit from us we make y'all we make y'all great y'all don't give a fuck about this I agree with everything that you said except for we don't give a f*** about you but I agree
Starting point is 01:26:38 100% with everything else you said like you know if this society does not do something to help the least of us the least of us is going to eventually eat the rich that's just the reality of the situation so I agree with you like by the way that is that is the inevitable of all of this
Starting point is 01:26:54 you know what I mean You can sit around and act like you don't see what's going on with the porn disenfranchised. And if you think that the porn dissent franchise is just going to sit around and be poor while you out here fat, you're bugging. Yeah, but to think that, and I don't know what celebrities are doing, but she mentioned Oprah and Beyonce and Beyonce. But to think that Oprah and Beyonce are not helping and not giving back when we see it time and time and time again, like, you know, I mean, we've seen Oprah do things. Well, I'm not, I'm not looking at them as individuals. We've seen Beontz do things. So we've seen that before.
Starting point is 01:27:21 But I would take, I'm not, I'm taking it out of celebrity. I'm talking about society. This capitalistic society cannot sustain. It's not sustainable. We're seeing it right now. I'm not even thinking about the celebrity aspect of it of what she's saying. But what she's saying is absolutely right. This capitalistic society where the rich keep getting richer
Starting point is 01:27:38 and the poor keep don't get a goddamn thing, eventually is going to collapse. Tupac told us this. There's a fantastic interview that Tupac did for MTV years ago. And he said, eventually, this is what is going to happen. You have to be logical. You know, if I know, if I know, in this hotel room, they have food every day.
Starting point is 01:27:58 And I'm knocking on the door every day to eat. And they tell, and they open the door. Let me see the party. Let me see, like, them throwing salami all over the... I mean, just like throwing food around. We're telling me there's no food in here. You know what I'm saying? Every day, I'm standing outside trying to sing my way in.
Starting point is 01:28:15 You know what I'm saying? We are hungry, please let us in. We are hungry, please let us send. After about a week, that song is going to change the... We hungry. We need some food. After two, three weeks, it's like, you know, give me on the food, and breaking out of the door, and after a year,
Starting point is 01:28:30 and you're just like, you know what I'm saying? I'm picking the lock coming through the door blasting, you know what I'm saying? It's like you hungry, you reach your level, you don't want anymore. We asked 10 years ago, we was asking with the Panthers, we was asking with them, you know, with civil rights movement, we was asking, you know, now those people that were asking, they're all dead and in jail.
Starting point is 01:28:47 So now what do you think we're going to do? What do you think those individuals are going to do? Okay, like that caller who called, she's not wrong, not wrong, but the energy is misplaced, because to me, it's not about celebrity. Celebrities are just, you know, a symbol of capitalism in this country, but the reality is in America, there should be nobody missing meals. There should be nobody homeless in America. The wealth inequality is ridiculous. 50 to 65% of all Americans live paycheck to paycheck. And when you see 935 billionaires in America and they control 8.1 trillion in wealth,
Starting point is 01:29:15 nearly doubled the amount of wealth held by the bottom 50% of Americans, over 170 million people, that's going to piss you off. Yeah, I agree. I just, I feel like her. energies towards the wrong people, right? Because you can't, I mean, she mentioned what Oprah, she mentioned Beyonce and both of those individuals we know of. They do a lot for the community, whether it's Oprah building schools
Starting point is 01:29:35 and some of the stuff that Beyonce always talks about that she does or her foundations. But yeah, she's absolutely right. Yeah, she hurts. There's no way in hell that the government should be doing a lot of things that they're doing and people can't eat. People can't pay their bills. They can't pay their light bill. They can't pay for health coverage.
Starting point is 01:29:50 They can't pay for schooling. They can't pay for none of the little things. It's very interesting. And guess what? They could if they wanted to. America can reduce poverty and wealth inequality. You can raise the work wages in high-cost regions. You can make necessities like housing and health care affordable.
Starting point is 01:30:03 America can do those things, but they choose not to. So, you know, when you think about slogans like, Eat the Rich that came from the French Revolution, that slogan came from the fact that when people are desperate from exploitation by the wealthy, they will rise up to overthrow or seize resources from the rich. That woman's anger is not wrong. I just think it's misplaced. Well, thank you for that donkey today.
Starting point is 01:30:25 Yes, indeed. We do that every Friday. You can call up 1,8005-1501 and give people the credit they deserve for being stupid. Let's discuss. If you heard what this lady said, let me get her name. Kim, Kim was her name. If you heard what Kim said, let's open up the phone lines. Let's discuss.
Starting point is 01:30:38 And Kim, you hung up too fast because, well, you had me ready to put something in your collection plate. Yeah. You hung up way too fast. 800-585-105-1. Let's discuss. A lot of people on Twitter are talking about the government has all this money to pay for all these foreign wars and lend all these foreign countries money and help all these foreign lands out
Starting point is 01:30:56 when it comes to home, people can't eat. People can't survive. They can't pay for milk. They can't pay for their child. Let's discuss 800-585-105-1. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. What's your sister name?
Starting point is 01:31:06 Kim. Kim. As I said earlier, man, Kim is not wrong. You know, I just feel like the energy is misplaced. Like, that energy should be towards the American government. Okay, not celebrities. Celebrities are just a symbol of capitalism in this country.
Starting point is 01:31:18 Okay? Like, you should be focused on America because America could fix something. a lot of those problems if they wanted to. They could reduce, you know, poverty and wealth inequality. And as I said earlier, you raise the work wages in high-cost regions. You make necessities like housing and
Starting point is 01:31:32 health care affordable. America can do those things but they choose not to. And I do understand what she's saying. I always feel like when a celebrity or artist makes money in a city, they should give back to that city somehow some way. And that was the whole thing with Tray the Truth and Trick Trick was doing years ago when they're saying artists came to town. And
Starting point is 01:31:48 we do with every car show it. I think that's the thing that you should do. But the celebrity she named, We know we see Oprah Winfrey building schools and helping us. I don't even think it's fair. Go ahead, and it's a lot more celebrities and influences doing. You know what I'm saying? It's just a lot more people struggling. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:32:05 It's not fair to, you know, talk about the celebrities in this situation because what needs to happen to reduce poverty and inequality is a lot of policies from the government. Celebrities don't have any control over that. And then when you use it, even talk about wealth, 935 billionaires in America that control $8.1 trillion in wealth. How many of old people are actual celebrities, y'all? You're right.
Starting point is 01:32:31 What are we talking about? You're right. Like, how many of those people are actual celebrities? By the way, there's 12 billionaires in the Trump administration. Yeah, right. Do you know what I'm saying? But not only that, it's when you hear, like, crisis and things that go wrong, like you look at when, you know, the, what was it, the, when all the airlines went bad, right?
Starting point is 01:32:48 We bailed them out. When the car manufacturers went down and went bad, we bailed them. We bail them out. But now when people are down bad, we don't bail them out. We don't bail out the normal people that help those airlines and that help those car manufacturers and that help this community grow. We don't bail little people out.
Starting point is 01:33:03 Why do you think people get upset? Well, for two things. Number one, why do you think messaging like America first works? Because people see, you know, hundreds of millions of dollars going to all of these other countries. Meanwhile, people right here in our own backyard is starving. Stuff like that will piss people like Kim off. And once again, America can reduce poverty and wealth inequality a lot if they wanted to.
Starting point is 01:33:26 They could implement a bunch of policies that impact wages, housing, health costs, education, but they choose not to. So I'm not mad at people like Kim. I understand the frustration. We got Jay on the line. Jay, good morning. Good morning, y'all. Good morning, y'all. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:33:39 What's your thoughts? I think that her anger is right. But I think a lot of people support these celebrities, like they should be supporting these whole boots. on these elections. So instead of putting all your trucks and money into people that have to live your life and so, you need to be putting that money and that concentration into people that could change certain things within our community.
Starting point is 01:34:03 You know, I understand we don't trust politicians like that, but you have to give them a chance. There's really people there that can help us, but we're not safe. We don't want to vote. You know what's so interesting though? Once again, you're not wrong in this situation, but you're talking about the money you give to celebrities.
Starting point is 01:34:18 What about the money we give to our government through taxes? We spend so much money in taxes That they should be implementing these policies That can, you know How people are living But we got to vote for those We got to put certain people in place We don't even look at common low
Starting point is 01:34:33 We need to come out and vote We don't go and vote I don't agree with that Because even regardless of who's in office We spend money in taxes So the same way Kim is yelling and screaming At us about celebrity We should be at our local
Starting point is 01:34:48 elected officials offices yelling and screaming about them to implement policies that can increase that can help our cost to living in this country thank you jake kew what's up cue yeah with breakfast club what's up brother talk to us yeah i agree with everything that lady was saying i feel like more celebrities should come back to their hometown not pass out money but at least sit down with young black men and women that all like small businesses and see what they plan is and offer them for us A lot of young people that made mistakes in the past And have small businesses
Starting point is 01:35:20 And they turn to Run their small business as well as navigate To a bad economy But they just need that little push That push of extra funds They can't get approved for business loans Listen my brother I agree
Starting point is 01:35:34 I agree with you too much is given Much is required But man y'all cannot put more pressure On these celebrities than you do The government The government is the one that is screwing us Every single day And then another thing, like you know
Starting point is 01:35:48 with celebrities, you know, went back to Kim saying, like, we want us to buy their tickets and stuff. That's the choice, though. We don't got to buy what the celebrities are selling, but we got to pay taxes. Like we have to. That's forced. So, like you said, Charlemagne, go scream and shout out, you know, to these politicians.
Starting point is 01:36:04 Oprah can't raise the work wages in these high-cost regions. Beyonce can't make necessities like housing and health care affordable. No. American government has to do these things. Your elected officials have to do these. things like that's who we need to be putting pressure on Democrat or Republican. Celebrities are not your elected officials. Now Mimi is here. Of course you know
Starting point is 01:36:24 me from front page news. What's your thoughts Mimi? I mean I think you all everyone's right. You can't put more in celebrities. We see we have money for wars. We see you know Trump is sending money to what is it? Was it Argentina? Oh yeah they gave Argentina a big bag. Right? It was like something like eight 80 billion or million something like that but right here at home we have people who are losing their health care. Right? Homeless. Not able to even go to the doctor if they're sick.
Starting point is 01:36:52 Exactly. So she's right. I mean the anger is misplaced with celebrities but she's absolutely right here at home we have a crisis right here. Ardiceena got 20 billion dollars. 20 billion dollars. So so once again I agree too much is given much is required like if you are a person with means I absolutely feel like you should take care of your you know community the best way you know how but you cannot put more you know on celebrities than you do the actual government because we need policies to decrease this wealth inequality and this poverty in this country man well let's go to we got monty on the line monti
Starting point is 01:37:26 good morning monty hey what's your thoughts bro what's up moni hey what's going on with you man yeah old girl decided she got a real valid point because we talk about this shther shop all the time um especially these rappers they you know come bleed the community out and they talk about you on the song talking about how broke everybody you so, you know, I get what she's saying. You don't think her energy is misplaced, though? I mean, come on, my brother. Yeah, she was hyper as hell.
Starting point is 01:37:54 Yeah, I thought somebody was going to hang up. No, because I agree with her for the, I agree with her for the most part, and I understand the anger. All I'm simply saying is, man, when you talk about reducing poverty and wealth inequality in this country, that is something that the American government has to do. We're talking about we need, you know, work wages raised. We need necessities like housing and health care to be affordable.
Starting point is 01:38:14 Like, America can. do those things, but they choose not to. You can, but it's also a mindset. You can give all these people whatever you want is they're going to really do what they're supposed to. To be honest you, I don't care. I'm not even joking. I really don't care. As long as this country provided it, I could care less.
Starting point is 01:38:29 But what Monti's saying, too, some of this stuff has to be taught as well, right? We have to teach. We have to make sure that when a celebrity or when somebody gets out of where they from, they go back and teach the community how to do it. Little things that we know that we lost on, we need to go back and teach. Now you're talking about another aspect of it. You talk about making wealth-building
Starting point is 01:38:45 accessible. So you, like you said, we should teach people about ownership. But then also, then you got to have fair taxes. People can't save what they don't have. They can't save what they don't have. And the federal minimum wage is $7.25. It has not been raised in 16 years. How many years? How many years? 16 years. But also, you got to think about it like this. And I agree with you.
Starting point is 01:39:05 The federal wages have to come up. But you look at a mom and pop store and they're paying somebody wages, right? And they have to pay higher wages. They can't afford that store really now. So that means their prices have to go up. That means people are going to stop shopping at their store because it's unaffordable for me now.
Starting point is 01:39:21 You know what I mean? So you've got to figure a way to help people out somehow. That's what I talk about with fair taxes. But once again, American government, local and federal, they could implement a bunch of policies that impact wages and housing and health costs and education if they wanted to. Now, what like, I agree that her anger is in this place, but what some celebrities can do is like, team up with local government. or something like that and create
Starting point is 01:39:47 like I guess you know programs or something that that you can fund your city or whatever through you know your money or you know what I'm just saying like like local government like because everything ain't going to get to the president you know like safe as we go we I live well I don't live in Baltimore but I'm from Baltimore
Starting point is 01:40:05 like if Mario or myself or whatever like meet with the mayor and the governor of Maryland and I guess we There's something to figure out how to help people, like all together. When people do it, nobody ever talks about it, or they just forget it so fast. Like, we've seen Killer Mike and Ti doing it in Atlanta, right? We seen Jay do it with Barack Obama.
Starting point is 01:40:27 We seen Jay do it in Philly with that thing that he created to get brothers out of jail early. Other reform. Reform things. So we've seen artists do it, but it feels like... I'm not putting more pressure on celebrities. Slide, yeah. We see artists do it. Like Saluted Zaraan Mondani.
Starting point is 01:40:41 Zaraan Mandani just got a new child care program without any new taxes. Like, what is it? They announced free child care for two-year-olds in New York City with no new taxes. That's what elected officials can do to, you know, relieve people's financial issues, man. I'm not putting more pressure on celebrities than I do our elected officials. When we know the wealth inequality in this country is ridiculous. I don't like how New York does people too. Like, yes, I appreciate it.
Starting point is 01:41:08 But like what New York does is like regular people are coming to the city to work. And you're charging them more to come to the city where they can't afford to come to the city. And people are complaining that they can't afford it. And they're talking about in years it's going to go even higher. Like Salomey said, yeah, I want to see where there's money is going. Where is it helping? Are these schools looking better? Or the roads looking better?
Starting point is 01:41:26 New York looks trashy. It looks disgusting. You just came from Africa. How do Africa look? Well, if you don't leave me, what the hell is your problem? I don't like your segues. I don't like the way that you talk. I really don't like when you do stuff like it.
Starting point is 01:41:39 But yes, Cape Town does look beautiful. But Cape Town is a rich area of South Africa. You go anywhere. If I go to China. If I go to a lot of these different places, especially islands, it looks way clean up. I get what you're saying. And these other areas say they don't have the amount of money that the U.S. have. But these other areas look amazing.
Starting point is 01:41:54 Listen, man, once again, America could raise incomes for the bottom half of America. Like, you could have higher minimum wages and high-cost regions. You could make housing affordable. You could, you know, make health care affordable if you wanted to. Yeah. But there was 30 states, I think, just raised their minimum wage. So shout out to those states. Yeah, but the federal, the overall.
Starting point is 01:42:14 I remember, you said it hasn't been, yeah, it hasn't been increased in... It was 2009. Yeah, because I remember when I was working at McDonald's, they were talking about increasing. They were always say they're going to increase it, but then it never went up. Damn, that's crazy. I'll say this, man. Kim, you weren't wrong. I just feel like your energy was misplaced.
Starting point is 01:42:32 You're talking about Beyonce and Oprah. I mean, black people tend to shoot and target other black people. It's not celebrities who created the wealth inequality and poverty in America, y'all. It's not. It's the American government who could fix a lot of these issues if they wanted to. They could implement a bunch of policies that impact wages, housing, health care, costs, education if they wanted to. That's all I'm saying. All right.
Starting point is 01:42:56 Well, when we come back, we got Pastor Alks with Nila should be joining us. So don't go anywhere. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Big Nila, Nila Simone. What's up, guys? What's you channeling today? Duck Dynasty?
Starting point is 01:43:23 Are you dressed for war just in case J-Cold would fall off come out and you got to fight for your life? With people fronting on your guy. First of all, when the fall off drops, I'm not going to have to fight for my life. All the chatter will be silent. And I can't wait for that project to drop so you can leave me along. I hope so.
Starting point is 01:43:39 I'm anticipating. I want to hear what J. Cole got to talk about. Do you really? Yeah, because I don't know what the angle is going to be because, you know, he's clearly, not gunning for the number one spot no more, right? Because he had an opportunity to prove that in the battle with Kendrick and Drake, but he bowed out.
Starting point is 01:43:54 So I just want to know what, you know, what energy he's on, that's all. That don't make him not number one. Yes, it does. No, it doesn't. Kendrick is the definitive number one of a generation. No need to tease. That's why you want him fatigued.
Starting point is 01:44:03 You're ready to fight? You ready to go to war? You know what? Not today. Not today. It's a lot of good music dropping this year. I'm really excited about. Obviously, we've been seeing Jill Scott do a press run for her album that's
Starting point is 01:44:15 dropping on the 13th of February. so I'm gonna start with her second single for the project. Oh, that's my birthday too. Oh, is it really? Oh, sir. Yeah, that's gonna be great, man. Shout out to Jill. This is pressure.
Starting point is 01:44:26 Thank you, Jill, Scott, man. Yeah. No, first of my. Yo, between the massage talk. Yo, right after the massage talk, that was crazy. I'm just saying Jill Scott and Eric about doing my wife's two favorite artists.
Starting point is 01:44:38 They two of my favorite artists, too. I knock all in shit for Jill. You hit me. That didn't feel good. That felt good. That's a vibe. Yes. It's just so good.
Starting point is 01:44:45 And the thing about Jill. And Erica, they don't drop music all the time. When the last time Jill dropped the album? It's been over a decade. That's what I'm saying. They just take their time and it just feels right, man. Oh, I salute to Jill Scott. You over there, bricked up.
Starting point is 01:44:57 What else you got? Oh, my God. Y'all, you know what? It is Freaky Friday. I came in here, but y'all was on a serious tip. I said, wow, I'm just not used to this dynamic. Because we had a caller named Camnet. Oh, it's a new one.
Starting point is 01:45:08 Okay, I see. Well, I liked it, though. Informative. But anyway, next, let me get into a new record from Reason. He's coming in Hot 2026. This record is called. don't play with my heart. Damn, yeah, I like it.
Starting point is 01:45:20 I like that. I mean, reason is dope. He can rap. I even like the sample. The dots don't ever connect for a reason. I don't know why. But he can't rap. Like, he's dope.
Starting point is 01:45:28 But the dots don't connect for him for some reason. Want to get him out there more? Yeah. I mean, he was with TDE. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:45:36 It's not like every artist on TDE the dots connect for it. Plus, I don't think it's over. Like, he can be consistent. I don't think it's over. I think it's being to connect at some point. And I don't mean that literally. in general.
Starting point is 01:45:48 Yeah. Like, you know, figuratively. You make it sound like it hasn't connected yet. You make it sound like a severe guy. Yeah, like he's over. Like he's done. Nah, he hasn't connected yet.
Starting point is 01:45:55 It hasn't connected yet. Like, okay, fine. Anyway, looking forward to whatever he drops. Hopefully we get a tape from him. But I don't like to hear artists talking about gatekeepers. There ain't no gates, bro. You know what I'm saying? If people ain't standing at your gate
Starting point is 01:46:08 and it ain't because there's no gate. There's no gates. There's no gates. Well, if you're on a label, there is a gatekeeper. Why are you still on a label? You just say he was with TDE. TDE is a label. Yes, that is true.
Starting point is 01:46:18 No listen to me. I'm just talking. All right. Yes. Finally, he admits it. All right. Next, let's get into. This artist is actually new.
Starting point is 01:46:25 He's from Memphis. His name is Trey Loaded. And his record is called Upgrade. He's not signed? Yeah, I like that. He's dope. He's from Memphis? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:32 Fine. Yeah, I love it. Now, I don't like, I don't want to rain on the parade. Trayload it. Trayload. He's fine. I don't want to rain on the parade, but I can hear the baby going in on that. That's like the baby.
Starting point is 01:46:43 But yes. No, Trey. You say Trey. Tray loaded His beard is connected And I love Memphis rappers too Like every like that is that That can go
Starting point is 01:46:51 I can hear that and be like Yo that can go That can go The beard is connected Yeah Yeah I can't You don't think it's being connected
Starting point is 01:47:01 I think his beard is connected I gotta see Yes And he's yeah He's 22 so I feel like Yeah A&R is tap in Next I'm gonna go with
Starting point is 01:47:12 This new And this is my last one actually But it's IDK Pusha T, K Trinada. And I heard the Who kid drop in the beginning, so I'm not really sure who necessarily produced it. But Push's verse was crazy. And I do like what IDK did. But this is called Life for a Life.
Starting point is 01:47:28 I love. What's the point of even being on a record with Pushy. I'm not going to lie. That's what I. Crazy. Why are you? I love it. You didn't play I de Kays.
Starting point is 01:47:34 You know, I'm sorry. It's giving on my past out. Come on, man. Push-a-T bid, been connecting for 40 years. Full, freeway belly. Bair! So you moved to push your tea, man. It's looking for buying push a tea that car.
Starting point is 01:47:49 Oh, you never sent the car? What happened? No. Ferrell got pushing a car for Christmas. What kind? I don't got no car money. What kind? What kind?
Starting point is 01:47:57 Where's the Forbes cover? Wow. I know that's right. But no, you're four for four now. Hey, we're all for. It was a good day. Okay, good. Today was a good day.
Starting point is 01:48:05 That massaging Cape Town got you right. I think it did do something. I'm not going to lie. And I will say, I do think that, you know, J. Cole's beer is fully connected. And I can't wait for the drop. one last time because this man was arguing me down
Starting point is 01:48:18 in Africa about him and I'm just like why I got to be... Because y'all think I don't like J-Col for some reason. That is not true. It's what you give off. It sounds like... We just don't think he's number one. First one. Not number one. What I'm just saying was there was a big three and a couple of years ago we all saw the big three circle each other and decide to go to war. One of them tapped out.
Starting point is 01:48:36 So therefore it was left with two and Kendrick won that decisively. So Kendrick is number one. Okay, I'll say this. So I, with the fall off, I just want to know what J-Cold's going to be talking about because it's clearly not to be number one anymore. And everything leading up to the fall off was him saying, I'm that guy, I'm that guy, I'm that guy. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:48:55 I have friends over in Dreamville. They said the project is crazy. What if they're going to say? Anyway, anyway, anyway. Also, I think that if they say anything else. I also think that all of them in the big three are great, okay? So I don't think, I think it just comes down to preference. greater. I think it just comes down.
Starting point is 01:49:16 Yeah, let it go. Let it go. But we do it. We do have to admit. He brings it up every day. But we do have to admit there was a battle and all three of them engaged and one backed out. So he's not in the competition no more. And one one. And one one.
Starting point is 01:49:30 I don't know why this is even an argument. He just in his own lane now. And it's a bike lane. City bike. But they were always in New York City. You see it all in their own lane. We got to go guys. Okay, I'm tired of y'all.
Starting point is 01:49:43 If y'all like those records, Make sure y'all follow me on the gram at Naila Simone. You can go to certify vibe.com to get the playlist where all those songs are updated. Plus more, there's a few other drops that I wasn't able to get to, but they're all on there. And, yeah, I'm having a party on the 18th. Okay. Pull up. It's going to be I'm a piano, Afro, B, hip-hop.
Starting point is 01:50:02 Oh, nice. Rap. Yes. It's a day before MLK Day, so you guys got the day off. So come pull up on me. It's in Brooklyn, but that's also on the website too. Who's your homie that looked out for us in Cape Town. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:11 Shout out to AQ. DJ AQ, yeah. She's a big. I'm a piano DJ from Harlem, but also from South Africa. But, man, we had a time. I know. I wish I knew homie's name in the bucket hat, too, man. I can't remember.
Starting point is 01:50:21 I think he was a promoter or something. Oh, who gave us a seat there. Yeah, I'm going to get his name. I'm going to shout you all. But salute to everybody that showed us loving. What was that club? Gypsy Supper? Gypsy Supper, I think it was called.
Starting point is 01:50:32 Gypsy Something in Cape Town. It was salute to y'all. It was fire. Yeah. Thank you very much. All right. When we come back, we got the people's choice mix. Don't go anywhere.
Starting point is 01:50:38 It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Morning everybody is DJ Envy Jess Hilary. Shalomaine Nagai. We are the Breakfast Club. Salute to Keep Sweat for joining us this morning. Salute to the OG Keep Sweat, Man. The R&B Lovers Tour starts on Jess's birthday.
Starting point is 01:50:50 Yes, February 13th, period. Joe Drew Hill, genuine, cut close. Yes, Drew Hill, you know Cisco, my Baltimore Brethren. So, you know, I got to go see the show. I'm going to go see the show for everybody. The whole line up is fine. You know, Drew Hill got like seven members now. You told me.
Starting point is 01:51:05 I don't know what they did that. Drew Hill. And then who was the group that was filling in for Drew Hill at one time? Somebody was filling in for Drew. I can't have any way. And Keith Swett was up here complaining about having to pay silk. And they Drew Hill got seven members. Ain't no goddamn way.
Starting point is 01:51:16 Damn. So all the original members must be back and they kept the new ones. Yeah, but the new ones were a group before. I can't remember the name of the group. Oh, so they're like merged groups. Oh, no, no, no. Yeah, now I only know Cisco, Tokyo, jazz. So player joined Drew Hill and have all the original members back.
Starting point is 01:51:34 So it was like eight of them on stage. Oh, no, no, man. Yeah. So I think they all going out on that show as well. Damn. I know Silk mad as hell. Silk going to see that and be like, you said,
Starting point is 01:51:44 keep you on breakfast club saying you can't pay all of us and it's only four bucks, but it's seven to them? Yeah, it's like seven and eight of them. God damn. Man. Seven to eight of them.
Starting point is 01:51:53 All right. Well, when we come back positive, you're about to play Jill Scott, new record pressure, man. Jill Scott's album comes out, what's the day Joe Scott album come out? I know it's in February sometime.
Starting point is 01:52:03 February 13th? God damn, that's Valentine's weekend. Yeah. Damn, I wish my wife wanted more children. No, you do that. No, you don't. No, you don't.
Starting point is 01:52:15 February 13th, Jill Scott's new album will be out. So let's play that new record pressure, man. I got to go check out her conversation with Angie Martinez. I watched her a million dollars worth a game with Gillian Wildall. And I watched her on R&B Money podcast with Tanking Jay, Jay Valentine. So I got to watch her on Angie Washington. All nine interviews you watch. I am.
Starting point is 01:52:35 I am. I am sure. right. Oh, I just want to tell you all right. Because I know all y'all were to go see Taylor baby and, you know, he was probably so scared because it was so many of y'all. You're bright, you dog, Lawrence tall. So, but I saw him the other night and his mother couldn't handle him. So we went out to dinner. So I was like, let me just, you know, he was all, eh, where? And so I took him from her and I put him to sleep like five minutes. I have the touch. He thought you was his pair. So, excuse me? None. And so you gave Taylor a pair of size six Jordans to give that little boy this
Starting point is 01:53:07 No, I did not. They were for Taylor because my feet too fat, silly ass. Oh, I just heard you say something about a baby. Here, take these because of the baby. No, no, I didn't. No, take them after she had the baby. I had my baby. My feet got a little bit more swollen.
Starting point is 01:53:22 So now I went from a five and a half to a six Y in shoes, so I had to give it a shoes. But yeah, I just wanted to say for the record, I put baby PJ to sleep and nobody else could ever do it. Okay. When we come back positive dose of breakfast. Oh, happy born day to Angie Martinez, too. Happy birthday, Angie.
Starting point is 01:53:35 That's why I said the, the thing about Jill Scott. I'm lying. But yes, Lusanne about it. It's time to get up out of here. You guys have a great weekend. I'm at partake today in the city. And I'll see out of tomorrow. Me, self, and
Starting point is 01:53:49 I think Nory. So you got a positive note, Sholome? I do, man. The positive note, remember, we're still in the year of the snake. We're still in the year. The snake until February 16th, so we're still shedding. So just know it's normal to feel like you're breaking apart when you're outgrowing something. All right? Trust the process and surrender. The destruction
Starting point is 01:54:05 of the old makes space for the new Have a great day. Breakfast club, bitches. You're on finish or y'all done? Boop up, woke up. Wake you up. Wake that ass up. Program your alarm to Power 105.1 on Iheart Radio.
