It is a beautiful Thursday, though, man. What are we doing this morning? I see we got a Lemmy Plummer. Yeah, LaMelle Plummer will be joining us You know what he is the CEO and owner of Zeus Network
Starting point is 00:04:04 The network that y'all love and love to hate That's right He has a new song because he's a rapper now It's called Batty Bad with Natalie Nunn Don't nobody want to hear that Okay, let me is making so much money, y'all subscriptions He got all of them TV shows on the Zeus Network He was an executive producer of magazine dreams
Starting point is 00:04:20 With Jonathan Majes He got a lot going on Why he can't rap? Because he probably can't rap even And I tell them the same thing. Yeah, he makes too much money to be rapping. Like, there's no reason to be rapping. Like, come on now.
Starting point is 00:04:33 Like, stop. Now, if you're young and, you know, you're coming from the hood and you know, you're trying to make your way and you can't rap and you got a record that's moving, I'm going to shut up. Because I'm happy that you're making a living. All right. But he already got a way to make a good living.
Starting point is 00:04:46 He don't need a great way. Like, okay. But I'm not going to judge it, though. Let me hear the record from it. I ain't heard it. I purposely have not listened to it. You're right. Because he looked like did he, so he might have made a bop.
Starting point is 00:04:57 No. You know, you were like, did he? Yeah, he looked like Christian Combs. He looked like his son. Yeah, he looked like Combs a little bit. He looked like, yeah. All right. Let's get the show cracking.
Starting point is 00:05:05 And good morning on all my Virgoes out there. It is officially Virgo seen a couple of days ago. But Virgo season is in full effect. Shout to all of September Virgo's. September 3rd is my birthday. And I'm excited this year for my birthday. You should be. I'm excited this morning.
Starting point is 00:05:18 I love that. Why is it like, because you're about to be 50? Like, what is really like the, they say you're like half of 100. I'm not going to be 50. But you know what? You're off to 50. You're 48, right? Yeah, probably 48.
Starting point is 00:05:29 But you know, I'm excited. That is amazing. Because there's a, I don't want to say that. But there's a lot of people that didn't wake up. That's right. There's a lot of people like that. A lot of people woke up dead. But they didn't wake up dead.
Starting point is 00:05:37 They just didn't wake up at all. Well, I get what you saying. So the fact that we're living another day and breathing another life. I got to kiss my kids this morning. Thank you, God. It's just a great. Thank you, God. Yes, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Let's get the show crack. We got front page news coming up so don't go anywhere. I love when y'all get enough sleep. Now, come on. You're just high. Everything is good for you right now. I as hell. You have some more God questions?
Starting point is 00:05:58 Yes, I am later. Later. All right. It's the Baptist Club, Good Board. Let's get in some front page news. What's up, Morgan? Good morning, good morning. How are we feeling on a Thursday?
Starting point is 00:06:07 Bless Black and Highly favorite. Indeed, because there is definitely devastating news. Breaking out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, two children are dead, and 17 others are wounded. 14 children and three parishioners in their 80s are wounded after a Catholic school shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Now, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara provided details about the victims and identified the shooter as 23-year-old
Starting point is 00:06:30 Robin Westman, who shot through the church stained glass window of the Annunciation Church. I will disclaim that even listening to this account from the police chief is a little bit difficult, so let's hear more from Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara. Two were young children
Starting point is 00:06:45 ages 8 and 10 that were sitting in the pews at mass when they were shot and killed. They were pronounced deceased on the scene. There were another 14 children between the ages of 6 and 15 that were injured by gunfire. There were also three adults in their 80s that were parishioners here attending mass that were also shot in this incident. The coward that shot these victims took his own life in the rear of the church. That coward has been identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman.
Starting point is 00:07:20 no prior criminal history as to the weapons used to perpetrate this horrific attack there was a rifle a shotgun and a pistol all three had been lawfully purchased by the shooter yeah so as mentioned in the audio the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound o'hara says they have discovered a about 900 page manifesto left behind by westman who also posted that manifesto on youtube And also in other posted videos, Westman expressed hate against Catholics, black people, and Jewish people. The FBI is investigating this shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and a hate crime targeting Catholics. All of the injured that all of those who are injured are expected to survive. So that's good news. During a press conference, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry called for the violence to stop. He also spoke with MSNBC yesterday calling for gun reform following that mass shooting. He spoke about how easy it is for the suspect to get a gun and compared the U.S. to other countries who have taken action on gun violence.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Let's take a listen to Minneapolis Mayor, Jacob Fry. We're not talking about your father's hunting rifle. We're talking about people that have gotten guns at it seemingly, in this case legally, that obviously have a whole ton of mental health issues. You're not right in the head if you're going to a church to shoot it up. Yeah, so Minnesota covered. It's devastating. It's extremely heartbreaking. And I mean, these are the type of stories that it's, it makes it hard to do my job because it's like, sheesh, you know, you're in church, the kids are praying. I mean, you think it's one of the safest places in the world.
Starting point is 00:09:02 But Minnesota governor, Tim Walls, called the shooting evil and said that he has spoken with President Trump, who offered full federal assistance, which I think is absolutely amazing, you know, because think about it, just months ago, they were at each other's necks on the campaign trail. But, you know, it shouldn't take these types of incidents for elected officials. to get along, but I'm not going to get too much into that. The FBI is investigating the shooting, as I mentioned, as an act of domestic terrorism and a hate crime targeting Catholic. So we will never get gun reform in this country because of the gun lobbies grip on politicians. Okay, the NRA and other gun lobbyists have decades of, you know, political infrastructure and, you know, donating money to candidates.
Starting point is 00:09:42 And they don't just donate money to candidates. They mobilize voters and intimidate politicians who step out of line and dare, you know, go against any type of actual gun reform. Pushback. Yeah, I was wondering, do they have a department in the federal government where all they do is look online and look at people and look at these threats
Starting point is 00:10:00 and look at things like that? Because if he was so open about how he felt online and was still able to purchase guns legally, like I feel like that's something that we're missing out. Maybe the air is a division, but if so, it has to be a bigger division because we hear these stories all the time. We hear these stories of these people
Starting point is 00:10:16 that's doing mass shootings or committing these crimes and they tell before they do it. It's not like it's a surprise. When people hear these stories, they'd be like, oh, I knew it was him because he's been talking about this for years. And we don't stop it.
Starting point is 00:10:27 We still allow him to buy not one pistol, but three pistols, or two pistols in a machine gun or whatever he bought or a rifle. But it's just very sad. And rest in peace and condolences to any one of those family members and friends.
Starting point is 00:10:39 It's just so epic sad. Man, we all know what we need to do in regard to the gun reform, but these gun lobbyists control the politicians. It's really that simple. All right, well, that is front page news, yes. Yeah, I'll stick around for seven. We've got more.
Starting point is 00:10:54 All right. Everybody else, get it off your chest. Phone lines are wide open. 800-585-105-1. But, you know, the rest of peace to those kids, and I'm sending healing energy to the families, because it's just sad to watch young people lose their lives because adults can't get it together.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Correct. That's really because adults choose not to do the right thing. Yeah. And now those two kids lost their lives. Yeah. And countless others are, a wounded and oh my gosh all right well call us up right now get it off your chest it's the breakfast club good morning the breakfast club
Starting point is 00:11:25 ray ray ray ray hey yo charlemagne ziz what up are we live this is your time to get it off your chest i got an indoor pool our outdoor pool we want to hear from you on the breakfast club we can get on the phone right now he'll tell you what it is we live law who's this hey good morning what's up y'all good morning get it off your chest brother I was going to get off my chest this morning. Shout out all the Virgo's season, 9-12. I want to wish my sister, happy birthday. Her birthday was yesterday.
Starting point is 00:11:57 And all these Virgoes, just don't let these Jim and I drive us crazy. You know, we got it. We're going to be all right. All right. All right. When's your birthday, right? 9-12. I'm 9-12.
Starting point is 00:12:07 All right, 9-3. All right. We're going to celebrate all month long, man. Let's celebrate life. All right, man. Happy birthday, man. Celebrate. Same a year.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Where you from? I'm from Jersey. Oh, Jersey. Okay. Now, I'm not doing no parties in New York, New Jersey this year, but we're going to celebrate. What part of Jersey are you from? I'm out here in Burton County. I've seen you around, man, the oxal spot.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Which one? Island Spice on Tunex Road. Yeah, I'll be over there. I'll be at Island Spice. I'll be pulling up the chef Christina's food truck. That's all the good you make a food at. Reggae Kitchen. Good food out here.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Reggae, man. Yes, sir. I appreciate y'all. You have a good one, man. Absolutely. You enjoy y'all every morning. All right, brother. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:12:44 Hey, it's Amber. Hey, Amber, good morning. Get it off your chest. Well, before I say that, I just want to say I'm calling from Somerville. Hey, 8-4-3, what's happening? Hey, so yesterday, my 6-year-old came up to me and said that he was in P.E. And the teacher told everybody to be quiet. So everybody listened except for one kid, he kept talking.
Starting point is 00:13:09 And the teacher was like, you need to be quiet. I can see why your parents probably hate you. or we'll hate you or something like that. So she wasn't talking directly to my child, but my kid wants me to say something because he always taken up everybody and, you know, this one is a little above his head or whatever. But I just don't want it to be like no retaliatory type of situation against.
Starting point is 00:13:35 My kid, if I do talk to the principal about the PE teacher, I'm like, I really don't want this teacher around my kid, but he's kind of sick so he needs PE so like I just don't know what to do yeah I think that is definitely a horrific it's very offensive to say that
Starting point is 00:13:54 to a kid about their household like what I think you should like it called me oh God like I have three kids um I think they had
Starting point is 00:14:03 kids happen but now do they play like that because I know I used to play with my teachers as far as the school but a teacher said I see why your parents hate you so much
Starting point is 00:14:13 yeah I used to play with my teachers and they used to have to say some things like that, but I don't know if it's the city public school, if they got that type of, you know, camaraderie if they got that type of relationship. I used to play with them. And here, P.E. teacher, don't
Starting point is 00:14:27 take them serious. Damn. How was it, y'all? Yeah, he's six. Oh, and that's the difference. You know, like, growing up, you know, I would go back and forth with the teachers in high school. And if it was my daughter, I wouldn't mind, but, I mean, I would mind, but she can end
Starting point is 00:14:42 her own, but, like, to say this to her, So six-year-old in front of everybody or you're saying that he'd get a real like... I didn't know that was elementary school. Did your six-year-old come back to you and ask you? Mommy, do you hate me? Oh, man. Coach said you hate me.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Right. Did he say that? Or she said that? No, it wasn't my kid. It was another kid. Oh, got you. Yeah. So I don't know if I should just let the principal know or like,
Starting point is 00:15:03 I don't know what to do. You should report that. Yeah, definitely. You should report that. I know they were that young. Thank you, Mama. Get it off here. She's, though.
Starting point is 00:15:10 You're shaping that kid's mind in the terrible way. Those kids hate them. Her parents hate them. Yeah. 800585-105. Get it off your chest. It's the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:15:18 The Breakfast Club. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk. I hate the way that you dress. Everything with me is blessed. Call up next. 800-585-105-1.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Not just me. I'm with the coach of feeling. Good morning. We got Tierra on the phone out. Tierra Sholomeini Jess. Remember, this is the. young lady that called yesterday, she was talking about her daughter has a mental
Starting point is 00:15:46 health problems, and we were talking to we had a topic yesterday, and we were talking, we had, we lost her on the phone lines. Okay. And she wanted to call this morning. Good morning, Tierra. Good morning. How you feeling, honey? I'm doing pretty good. Today is not on your phone. Hey, 40.
Starting point is 00:16:02 40, 40 club. Yes, 40, 40. That's what's up, girl? Now, yesterday, I know you tried to call in and you was telling out your daughter is, she has mental health problems. Yeah, she has, um, she explained a traumatic brain injury a few years ago, and that pushed her into, like, um, a COVID. And she had some other stuff come out of that.
Starting point is 00:16:27 But, um, what I was saying is that people do not discuss the violence that you experience when somebody is going through an episode. Mm-hmm. You don't know if they're hallucin again. They could be having an auditory helixie. A little visual hallucinations, you don't know what they'll be in those moments because to them it's real. Yeah. Yeah. They don't have a way to distinguish with real and what's not in those moments.
Starting point is 00:16:54 You know, I was thinking about that yesterday. When they pick up a weapon or they do something and hurt somebody, you know, it's hard to give somebody jail time when they're not necessarily in their right mind because they don't necessarily know what they're doing wrong. Is that correct? They don't. A lot of times they don't. They could have come up with a whole plan. and don't even remember because they weren't in the right mind in those moments. Yeah, I think it's sad, you know, we were having this conversation.
Starting point is 00:17:23 I don't know if we're going to end up having the conversation this week, but we definitely going to have a conversation about, you know, the people who have to deal with the people who have mental health issues who are dealing with mental illness. Like, you know, nobody ever talks
Starting point is 00:17:34 about the family members and the friends who have to deal with the people. That's right. And it is very hard. It's very emotional. because you're so shit and you'd be like who I was about my house
Starting point is 00:17:46 but if I'm talking about my house what's going to happen to him Right Especially when it's your child Yeah how old is she? Exactly She's a teenager She's a teenager
Starting point is 00:17:55 But let me ask you a question When she starts to date Do you tell the person that she's dating Because you know He would need to know No You don't So not by the way
Starting point is 00:18:07 I hope to have personally Because you can't something about. Right. And you don't know how somebody is going to use that against you. Yeah, but also if they do have a mental, you know, a problem or something, you want them at least nowhere is coming from and not just, you know, react, you know?
Starting point is 00:18:24 What I say in the case, I'm going to be, like, she had one little boyfriend at this point where I was who's moving on and everything. And we just had real conversations by way that you can't do this because it is. Right. You cannot play fight. because she don't know how to stop.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Like, I'm going to get very clear about a certain point. Got you. But they're off of painting. Gotcha. And, you know, voice like the hits. Right. And just to get a rise out of you.
Starting point is 00:18:53 And that's all for many things. Just people in general. I get it. Thank you for your story. Because you never know. Especially the social media, she's had people put stuff on social media that needed he had fucking one of
Starting point is 00:19:09 or wasn't really clear. Right. about everything they feel is going on. So if I do what people are told to tell people, like, you have to really trust when they're going to be enough on their agenda behind it. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Thank you for sharing your story. Definitely thank you for sharing your story. I'm telling you, we started that panel last year at the Mental Welfth Expo, man. We had a panel for people who deal with, for people who have to deal with folks who have mental illness, the family members, the friends, because that's just a big conversation
Starting point is 00:19:39 whenever we have the mental welfare. Expo, people who got to deal with family members and friends who actually have, you know, mental health issues. So that'll be something we're discussing this year at the Mental Wealth Expo, too, which is happening Saturday, October 11th at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and the Vent Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. And it's a free of date, open for all ages. Get it off your chest. 800, 585.10.1. If you need the event, hit us up now. We got the latest with Lauren coming up. She's stuck in traffic. She'll be here in a sec. It's the Breakfast
Starting point is 00:20:07 Club. Good morning. Morning everybody is DJ NVV. Just Alarious. Salomey and the guy, we are the breakfast club. Let's get to the latest with Lauren. Lauren becoming a straight fan. She gets them from somebody that knows somebody. She gets the details. I'm a home girl that knows a little bit about everything.
Starting point is 00:20:28 She'd be having the latest on this. The latest with Lauren La Rosa. Sometimes you have facts, sometimes you have details, sometimes she have a little bit everything. Well, it's the latest. On the breakfast club. All right, y'all. So we got to send a congratulations to French Montana. Ha!
Starting point is 00:20:44 Hey. Yes, he is engaged. So he has been, or has now recently been engaged to the Princess of Dubai. Her name is Shikamara. I believe I'm saying it correct. Don't keep saying, huh, because this was not our exclusive and it should have been, Envy, but I'm going to my own business. But this way, I want everybody to know that Lauren knew this a week ago, right? I am highly upset at you.
Starting point is 00:21:07 We work as a team. She says, M.V., can you call French and ask him? about his engagement. I'm like, I am not calling French Monta and ask him to him this. You didn't slide me a number. It was nothing. But anyway, let's get back to this. I respect the fact that you wanted to confirm, Lauren,
Starting point is 00:21:19 before you just reported. Like a lot of these other put-butt people out here. And also, too, because it's an engagement, yeah, poop-butt is crazy. Because it's an engagement, and I know, you know, it was private, nothing was out yet. I wanted to make sure. I knew I was right, but I just wanted to make sure
Starting point is 00:21:33 it was okay with us to do this story. I know y'all have relationships as well, too. So I'm learning to respect those things. But anyway. I don't know them people? French and envy are. Oh, that's his homeboy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:43 So, anyway, yeah, so they've been engaged now for some time. They got engaged back in June, Accord. December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene.
Starting point is 00:22:21 In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and order, criminal justice system is back. In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order Criminal Justice System on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course. We sat down with Kevin Richardson and A.J. Be a part of my new chapter and listen to the new season of the overcomper podcast as part of the my culture podcast network on the iHeart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast to tm z who broke the story uh they got engaged during paris fashion week this was shortly after french montana walked in paris fashion week now it too had been dating since
Starting point is 00:25:58 twenty twenty four uh but for those who don't know who this princess is her family is they're billionaires like it's estimated that it's Crazy money. I mean, a lot of people are interested right now or have been since they were spotted together because of the amount of money that her family is worth, but also because when she first was spotted with French Montana, she had posted to Instagram to break up with her former husband
Starting point is 00:26:21 and said that her former husband was occupied with other people, so she was divorcing him and put it on Instagram. So people are like, City Boys is up $300,000, but, yo, French, she'd be divorcing her husband's on Instagram, so you've got to be careful. She had a couple kids too, right? I think there's a kid or two not for sure about her kids
Starting point is 00:26:38 I don't know for French too so I mean I'm just happy for French man I'm happy if he fell in love I'm happy for him First of all I couldn't be wrong But you don't casually date those princesses And stuff from Dubai No no no normally no If you're dating one of them
Starting point is 00:26:49 Especially you're a black American You're going to marry my daughter Right Because one of the things they tell you When you go over there Somebody told me this a while ago They said when you go over there Don't bring no drugs
Starting point is 00:27:00 No drugs And don't mess with their women If not there you'll end up in a desert somewhere well isn't i was going to say though where is french montana from morocos okay he's in the brooks morocco okay what's his background brooks yeah so i want to say to
Starting point is 00:27:20 for all the listeners and anybody watching we do have exclusive video from a celebration ceremony that they did in morocco so you guys can go check that out it is now on the breakfast club's instagram my instagram and the brown gargrinded instagram as well so i finally did get away into all the things Oh, sorry. I wasn't calling French for that.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Anything else I called French for? I wasn't called them the other morning. Remember when we were up here? I wasn't calling for knowing damn engagement. That's your personal life. I get it. I hear you. Well, yeah, but yeah, so I want to just want to talk a bit about that because yesterday, for me,
Starting point is 00:27:48 I was like kind of shocked that all the people that were, I had never seen men be gold diggers before. But this brought a lot of the gold diggers out online. And it was crazy to see now I understand how y'all feel when women celebrate a woman dating someone with a bunch of money. Because I was like, why can't they just be in love? Why I got to be about her money? y'all didn't see none of that because she's worth a billion dollars but you know
Starting point is 00:28:10 they're not married yet they're engaged I almost put this in the group chat right for all the men man if you were a woman would you be a gold digger would you be the type of guy woman that was a gold digger if you were a woman
Starting point is 00:28:21 would you be a woman if you were a woman would you be a gold digger no why not why would I want to dig for gold here's the thing what you're saying if you're basically saying
Starting point is 00:28:33 you want somebody that is doing well in life like everybody wants somebody that's doing well in life but you know what you call well is subjective yes i mean her family like oh my god broke niggas please come out you just want somebody that's doing well in life but you also not like oh i hope i find me somebody rich you just want somebody that's doing well that's it no i think a lot of i think a lot of women want to find somebody that's rich yeah they do and they want to just be put up feet put up and i'm mad at y'all but i think people want love i think i really do think people want to love more than anything I think I think that whole gold digger thing is a narrative
Starting point is 00:29:06 They want love with love With money I mean you hope you want love And you want somebody that's got a good spiritual side A good mental side Like you want happiness first and foremost That person got some change with them
Starting point is 00:29:18 That's a plus too Her family's reportedly worth $18 billion That's a plus Yes I promise you you married for money You ain't gonna never be happy No you said that's just the most ridiculous thing ever And French has his own money too
Starting point is 00:29:31 Like people were talking as if, like, she found French, like, randomly on the corner in the Bronx. I'm like, it's French Montana, y'all. Like, let's not. French is good. Yeah. And French has, you know, his past, he's had a hit list. So I'm sure that's out his system.
Starting point is 00:29:42 He doesn't drink anymore. He does a small. Why? Excuse me? Wait. Is he talking about the anthems, the music, French makes? Because that's what I think, that's what I think. Why?
Starting point is 00:29:50 Even, I'm as a woman envy, I think that was crazy. Why? That's ridiculous. For no reason. You thought, you're graduating this man on his engagement. You know what I'm saying? Oh, you French got a hit list. You're talking about the anthems.
Starting point is 00:30:00 What if his fiancee listening? No. I heard this guy envy on the radio and he said that you got a hit list? What's a hit list? No. She'd be on the Graham. She didn't know what's that. They both had pass.
Starting point is 00:30:08 French had a pass. You don't even know her. But he gave, I said French. He said they both had passed. They had a pass. She had a pass. She was married before. I was the son of a cop and phone on the interregation.
Starting point is 00:30:17 So crazy. And tarot what? This start voluntary information. Territ. I said French is. French got a hit list. They both got a pass. He talked about it before.
Starting point is 00:30:25 He's been on the breakfast club talking about it before. but French is changed. He doesn't drink. He doesn't smoke. He's changed. And I love that for my guy, French Montana. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Well, I wish he's definitely now marriage material. And congratulations. Congratulations. Yeah, congratulations. You see this? That's what I love, right? And that I see she does have a daughter, Envy. Basically, Envy said he's done the work, and then you said now he's marriage material.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Yes. That's what you want people. You just want somebody that is doing the work on themselves and somebody that you can love. Okay? I promise you, if you're thinking to yourself, I'm going to marry this person for money. you're not going to be happy. So whatever you're getting into ain't going to last anyway.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Correct. Well, they seem pretty happy in the videos that we obtained. So make sure you guys are going to check those out. Again, they're on the Breakfast Club Instagram as well. And congratulations to French Montana. I'm happy for my guy, French. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Now he's going to call you. So maybe I'll finally get to talk until we can figure some excuses out. The French is not calling me about no damn engagement and none of that. He's going to hear the hit list and be like, you don't call me for that. No, he didn't call me for that.
Starting point is 00:31:22 He'll call me for other things. I was with you when you was laying under the table when you was up here, sad. Now you talk about my hit list. Yes, exactly. You got a hit list, too, NV. They were, oh, oh, oh, French.
Starting point is 00:31:34 What are you talking about? Yeah, exactly. A.O. All right. You got a French Montana song. Can we play a French Montana song? All right. When we come back, we got front page news,
Starting point is 00:31:43 and then LaMelle Plummer will be joining us. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. You're checking out the Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Salamey and the Guy.
Starting point is 00:31:53 We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get back in some front page news. What's up, Morgan? Hey, yeah, hey. All right, so let's get back into it. So Washington, D.C. may not see any immediate impact from President Trump's call for greater use of the death penalty. He made those remarks for anyone committing murder in the nation's capital. The D.C. Council abolished the death penalty in the district in 1981, and voters rejected a death penalty referendum in 1992.
Starting point is 00:32:16 Now, analysts say that this will prevent death penalty prosecutions in the D.C. Superior Court unless Congress intervenes. Now, prosecutors could also seek death sentence. in federal court, and U.S. Attorney Janine Piro says she will follow the president's directive when possible, when possible, but also admitted that it could be difficult to convince D.C. juries to convict defendants who face the death penalty. Meanwhile, more is developing in President Trump's crime crackdown in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser says a federal surge in law enforcement has lowered crime, but she criticized the deployment of masked ICE agents and National Guard troops from out of. state. Let's take a listen to D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. This is what we think in just a couple of weeks of experience has worked, having more federal law enforcement officers on the street. We know that we have had fewer gun crimes, fewer homicides, and we have experienced an extreme reduction in carjackings. We know having masked ICE agents in the community has not worked. And national
Starting point is 00:33:25 guards from other states has not been an efficient use of those resources. So Mayor Bowser went on to say that carjackings are down 87% and she did, as said in the audio, admit that, you know, some support for MPD, which is D.C.'s Police Department, Metropolitan Police Department, the support that the federal agents come in, supporting the police department is, well, is a good thing. But she has also, expressed that there is concern of the city's residents saying that they are living in fear she did say she had a conversation with president trump on wednesday but did not elaborate about what they spoke about um in other news the trump administration is moving to take over union station
Starting point is 00:34:12 in washington dc which is the train station major transportation hub transportation secretary sean duffy made the announcement and said the station has fallen into disrepair and dc should be the example. Let's take a listen to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. We're going to take it back and we're going to drive out the homelessness. We're going to drive out the crime and we are going to, I think, bring in more retailers, I think
Starting point is 00:34:35 more customers. It should be beautiful. And the president wants a beautiful capital. I want a beautiful capital. And so this plan is going to make Union Station represent the President's vision of what America can and should look like. Duffy went on to say they will help make the city safe and beautiful at a
Starting point is 00:34:51 fraction of the cost by reclaiming, of the station. And it's the latest move by the White House as part of President Trump's crime crackdown in D.C. And for my last story, I absolutely love this for, you know, all of the things that have been going on with Washington, D.C. That man who threw the sandwich at the federal agent, he is reportedly not being indicted by a grand jury. That's according to the New York Times. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C., has sought an indictment in a felony assault case. Sean Dunn, who is seen on video striking. the officer in the chest with that subway sandwich
Starting point is 00:35:26 after saying they're not wanted in D.C. He admitted to the incident after he was arrested. Y'all saw him on that viral video where he hit the officer with the sandwich and then ran off, ran off. But of course, caught later. Sean Dunn, he was arrested in that
Starting point is 00:35:41 incident. And of course, he was fired from his job also at the Justice Department following the incident. But if you have ever, or if you have been in D.C. since this whole situation you have seen the there's been like a poster he's being basically held
Starting point is 00:35:57 a local hero I'm not exactly sure why per se but you know I guess it's just one of those you know standing up against the man type things but there's posters there's visuals there's all these different things posted around the city that are that show him literally masked up and throwing the sandwich
Starting point is 00:36:14 you know towards towards an officer but yeah you see girl what kind of sandwich was it did we get to We never found out the exact type of sandwich if it was turkey or a rye or if we, you know, it was a sub. So, you know, we never found out if it was, you know, tuna, a turkey or, you know, whatever the case is roast beef, whatever. But it was a subway sandwich because it was standing right outside of subway. So, you know, y'all should take that and run with it.
Starting point is 00:36:38 But I'm not going to get too much into that. That's your front page news. I'm Morgan. Y'all can follow me on socials. Dang, wait. Let me get through the. Y'all can follow me on socials at Morgan Media. And for more news coverage, follow ad black information.

Starting point is 00:37:40 How you feeling? I'm feeling good How about you? I'm a little under the weather But I'm hanging in there I'm coming in this You don't be a single man I know. I'm trying to have this car drop.
Starting point is 00:37:50 I know. They told me you hear it for more music. I know that ain't true. I got a new song out, man. You write this. Let's start. Let's play. I want to hear it right now. Baddy Dad. He must be bored. Where is it? All that money you get in and you decide to rap? He's bored. I know, man. He is. Where's the record?
Starting point is 00:38:03 Yeah, let's go. Let's play it. What is it's go? The song is called Baddy Bad. It's on Apple? It's on Apple. It's on Spotify. It's everywhere. I liked everything about the song except for y'all. Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 00:38:14 What? That's the whole song. No, I like to be And I like the concept of it Because I think that's a dope record to flip But if you were going to do it You should have got like Webby on it Like actually put Webby on the record
Starting point is 00:38:24 You know It wasn't my call That was Natalie's call Okay Why did you want to rap Were you rapping before? No, she asked me to be on the song So, you know
Starting point is 00:38:32 I told her I'm not a rapper You know But for you I would You came in here Rapby, you switched out the glasses Now you're not CEO Sorry
Starting point is 00:38:40 I knew you I was playing the song So But yeah no I told her I told her didn't you? No, I was actually He was playing it all weekend Did you rap before? Were you a rapper before? Was you a rapper before? Never. I was like
Starting point is 00:38:53 No, I've never been a rapper Never. What made you say yet to us? You're still not a rapper now, LaMelle. I'm gonna... Stop. What? Still not one now. I mean, you need to ever. What made you say yes to Natalie when she said, you? I got this track. I want you to be on. Yeah, I told her, you know,
Starting point is 00:39:09 Baddies is is a huge hit for us. So we always try to find unique ways to market the brand and I know me being on there probably would have gave it a little bit more exposure and her media
Starting point is 00:39:25 so we got a little bit in our world Natalie Dunn and Webby would have been a good combination you know what I'm saying with all the baddies girls in the videos yeah that's true that might be true I don't know I tried it but thanks for the feedback man I appreciate it What about Ray J? Do you think about putting Ray J on there?
Starting point is 00:39:42 Did you ever think about it a little bit? I might you know I might, oh, God. He might do it. You never know Ray J. I might put Ray J on it, you know. I might. All right.
Starting point is 00:39:51 So love Kevin. Thanks off from you, Levelle. What you mean? What you mean? Love, Kaffer, please let us know what this is about, man. What is it? Lemuel, why don't I come here? Like, I had an option.
Starting point is 00:40:04 I had these d'all. I hate these d'i. But I keep coming back. I thought, wait. I'm sorry? Y'all made up? You know? him and who
Starting point is 00:40:14 Ray J because I know You're a fight right Yeah Because he said he might get on the record I'm like all y'all made up No you know we we're figuring it out We got something that we're going to be Talking about
Starting point is 00:40:25 Ray J and I publicly So Oh okay We're looking at Discussing our issues Publicly On your platform or intronics Yeah on Zeus
Starting point is 00:40:36 On Zeus No I mean not like that But you know Ray and I are We got up after the little spat your head outside that's uh initially yeah because i didn't know what was going on and he just kind of he was serious i was joking and it just turned into a real situation to some degree i mean you know i understand the marketing and you know uh of it all but i think he he got a little
Starting point is 00:41:01 too too excited and you know it just became a thing and you know when he when he reached out and kind of, you know, swung at me, I kind of reacted, you know, because I'm not really a confrontational person, so more of a talker, you know, let's figure it out. You went to boxing, but you go in the ring with Ray J. Full?
Starting point is 00:41:23 Yeah, I'll box Ray J. I like that. I'm an athlete. I mean, you know, I'm not, respectfully, I'm not afraid of any man, but, you know, I think, I think that'd be an interesting experience. How does security let them swing at you, though? Like, you roll like the president.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Like, how did they, how did Ray J even get his swing? You know, we, Ray and I have had a great friendship for many years. So, you know, at the time when he was promoting his platform, he was kind of, I felt like he was disparaging me quite a bit and, you know, just. That's an understatement. Yeah, you know. I mean, I saw him on the breakfast level talking, you know, about me and Zeus, and it was, it was, you know, it was a lot. But did you reach out to him after that? No, I never reached out to him.
Starting point is 00:42:09 When that happened, when you guys interviewed him, but I really didn't understand the initial, you know. Like, where did you come from? Yeah, the beef or the issues and, you know, a lot of this stuff were rumors are made up. So I just, you know, what am I going to say? I'm not going to respond, you know, create more, you know. Do you think it was jealousy? I think it was just Ray J. B. and Ray J. Yeah, I think, I think Ray J was trying to tap into the.
Starting point is 00:42:38 streaming space the S-Bod you know streaming space and I you know he's been wanting to launch his network and I think you know he made it very clear he was going to come after Zeus and I think he just went a completely different direction that I wouldn't have imagined him to go in and you know he came after me personally and yeah it just became a thing and but yeah I don't I don't know it was it was at first it was it was very disheartening in and disappointing but i i you know again i i responded i think to one of his social media post um and then i i kind of left it alone you know but you know he kept going and it just became a thing and then when i saw him i'm like hey what's up man he was just like oh man what's up yeah and my security you know they they
Starting point is 00:43:33 they i don't think in their right mind they would have thought that Ray J and I would get into any type of public, you know. They knew Ray J, so they let him get a little closer than most people would. Yeah, of course. And then he got out of the car, and he kind of, like, got in my face, and I'm smiling. I'm like, you're all right? He's like, no, man, and I'm like, what's going on? And then I think my security told him to back up, and then he got in his, my security guard's face,
Starting point is 00:43:58 and then he kind of swung at me, and then I'm like, hey, are you serious? And then it just became a... I thought y'all both was joking. And I honestly thought that y'all were promoting something. Yeah. Maybe we were. Because these rollouts would be different. Ray J rollouts be different.
Starting point is 00:44:13 You know, so I thought that y'all were actually both, like, playing around. I'm glad y'all got over it. I'm glad that y'all sitting down and y'all squashing it. Yeah, we're going to figure it out. We're going to see what happens. Lamel Plummer is still here. You know him, CEO of Zeus Network. Charlemagne?
Starting point is 00:44:31 I do want to give you props for something, though. I love that you stepped in and got behind. magazine dreams yeah that was a phenomenal phenomenal film man and if if if Jonathan hadn't you know gotten his little Hollywood kerfuffle yeah he didn't want an Oscar for that I agree I agree it was a phenomenal film and you know Jonathan it reached out to me and he they weren't they needed additional funding for the film to be released and uh theatrically and just you know in the VOD space and so I didn't I didn't really know too much about the film and then when I watched it, I was like, oh, we gotta get behind this film. And I
Starting point is 00:45:09 understood that they kind of, you know, they didn't have a lot of folks supporting him in the film. So we just kind of took that chance and invested quite a bit in the money. I mean, in the film. And we, we, we just, we co-distributed the film with Briarcliffe and, and ultimately, you know, ended up working out exclusive distribution rights on Zeus. So it's currently on Zeus. It's currently on Zeus. It did. really well theatrically and um you got your all eye back yeah yeah for sure definitely definitely
Starting point is 00:45:40 definitely you know but more importantly you know i was happy that jonathan was able to get his film out there uh that his performance was incredible and uh there's a lot of a lot of interesting um components to the film that i felt dealt with a lot of real life issues that people go to mental health issue yeah absolutely man he killed that movie yeah yeah I think so. Yeah. We've kind of branded ourselves to some degree as like the Second Chance Network. So, you know, we've given quite a few folks that I feel, you know, Hollywood and traditional media is kind of undervalued or has kind of canceled to some degree.
Starting point is 00:46:23 We've given them that opportunity to, you know, tell their stories. And I believe generate more income and revenue than any other network or studio that, you know, that they're, that they've currently worked with. Should people give you a second chance at rapping or should they be? You know, hey, look, give me a second chance, man. I think you should give me a second chance. Not a second chance story, but I like you doing the partnership with Jason Lee too. Just providing a platform for the impact awards.
Starting point is 00:46:51 I think that's fire too. I think he's asleep on what he's doing. Thank you. Yeah, that was a great, you know, shout out to Jason Lee. I truly appreciate him reaching out and wanting to partner with Zeus to distribute that award. first award show and it's uh you know we're recognizing a lot and honoring a lot of folks in our culture um and uh it's it's a it's a great uh ceremony and you know it's it's you know i think we've done about three of them now and uh it's it's only increased in in production value and uh talent and
Starting point is 00:47:28 you know it's it's an incredible experience so shout out to jason and this this year's impact awards was uh did really well for zeus and we look forward to continue to work with jason on that it's a great great project so is that something like i know zeus has a i don't want to say brand but i guess a certain brand people associate zeus with so when you do stuff like the magazine dreams and the hollywood unlocked the war are you trying to go in i guess more a positive route yeah we're just expanding we're expanding and trying to bring balance and new content to the platform you know i know we've been very loud and provocative you know uh throughout the years with our content and um you know i've always felt like it would be important to diversify our content up
Starting point is 00:48:11 and we're doing that and we we you know we finally are doing well enough to to really spend some serious money um on on these projects and uh and yeah i think we're doing it with films and in some of these shows so uh yeah the network is doing really well i think the first time i i came here in 2021 um i announced that zeus we were we were i kind of projected and it's it actually has materialized and manifested into being valued at over a billion dollars at this point and so congratulations thank you man thank you so much so i was i was really excited um that you know the valuation of the company has reached that huge milestone so um but again that's why we're to really invest in all these other projects.
Starting point is 00:49:04 And, you know, I think we're truly competing at a higher level than most of the linear networks and most of the traditional networks of it's pretty. Starting point is 00:53:21 Interesting and humbling and rewarding experience to see this and to live it and dream it. and, yeah, it's beautiful, man. And what happened with Clarissa Shield? Did y'all make her an offer to be on one of these shows? Yeah, you know, I think somebody on our team might have reached out to Taseki and, I'm sorry, her name, was her name again? Clarissa Shields, yeah. So I think they reached out to her to try to see if we could do an exhibition between her and
Starting point is 00:53:53 Tisiki. And, I don't know, Tisiki needed a little bit more time to, to train and prep for it but she'll get knocked up you think so I think that would be a good fight Taseki is a real life
Starting point is 00:54:05 Chris's a professional boxing you don't play boxing you don't I don't play rap you can't play box but but yeah I think that would be You know I don't box you box
Starting point is 00:54:16 but I thought you box No no I thought you said that earlier when you said No no I said I said I would Box rager I would box raise it
Starting point is 00:54:23 No I said I'm an athlete at heart But I would box If folks wanted to see Ray J and I in the ring, I would be interested, you know? I think that would be cool for the viewers. I think a lot of folks would subscribe. You have a billion dollar
Starting point is 00:54:38 valuation. Don't start jumping all in front of the camera doing goofy ass shit now. All of them are jumping on rap records. Like, why? Like, don't start doing that now after you get the billion dollar valuation. You've been good thus far. That's true. That's true. So, you know, we have to be very strategic, but... Because I know, back to Clarissa. I think she said
Starting point is 00:54:54 that she couldn't do it because they wouldn't sign off that if she... She wouldn't get jump. Yeah, that if she hits a chick, they can't sue her. Yeah, but I think in the exhibition world and space, I think there is some flexibility there. So I think the contracts, we just have to work out whatever potential liabilities.
Starting point is 00:55:12 But I think it would be a very entertaining. I hear you. You say Taseki's not a fighter, but... He did not say Tasek is not a professional fighter. I'm sorry. I should get knocked out until you're going to the real boxing. You get knocked out. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:55:26 I don't care how much you think you can fight on the street. Yeah. You get in the ring with a real box that you're going to sleep. Yeah. That's true. They did a video on Diamond Body training with Kursa. Yeah. Yeah, Diamond.
Starting point is 00:55:35 I think she's prepping for the reunion. I know. The last reunion, she got her tooth knocked out by Tisiqi. That's crazy. Did she sue? No, well, it wasn't. She can't sue us. I mean, maybe she could sue Tziki.
Starting point is 00:55:52 My insurance is the Zuse Network. That's what I'm saying. Listen, we are. High as insurance. Yeah, the insurance is a thing. But, yeah, these reunions, the girls, the ladies are, I mean, it's intense. You know, they're going at it pretty aggressively. But we do our best to manage the situations.
Starting point is 00:56:14 But in that situation, like, they both ask to square up. So we give them a couple of seconds, you know, just to kind of go ahead, are you sure? And so you wanted to square up with Tseki and it just happened. here. You know him CEO of Zeus Network. Jess. Please tell me what, look. Are you really with Scotty? You know I'm going to ask look I get the all the team from my little sister
Starting point is 00:56:38 she is a Zeus fan, fan, fan. We, you know, we watch, of course you know, I watch Charleston's Cabaret but she watched all the shows, right? And she's like he coming up there and asks him and he's really with my girl because, you know, my sister loves Scotty. Oh, you really were? You know. You know. I know you know.
Starting point is 00:56:54 No, I would say I appreciate you ask me question um scotty is absolutely amazing she's beautiful um she she she and i are are definitely you know uh dating and you know we're figuring out you know we're developing our relationship um he got a show what his is that's not on tv right no no no no no no no no no i said scy is one of the baddies though yeah she is one but yeah she is one of the bad she so So, no, but real talk, she's great, and we're developing our relationship, and we're seeing where it takes us. That's something of an HR problem right there.
Starting point is 00:57:37 No, no, no, she's great. She's great. And, um. He's the hell, hey, y'all, what the . Yeah, she's, she's amazing. Um, and, you know, I know, I know folks, and I want to be careful because there's a lot of things I haven't addressed about my personal life. because I do like to keep it private. Yeah. But I do want to say...
Starting point is 00:58:02 How, let me, you be putting videos out there, girl twerking. Well, that's, you know, that's, you know, that's, that's, that's marketing. We're a loud, provocative platform. You know, we generate a lot of views that helps with our subscribers. You're the CEO, brother. And that's okay, you know, it's okay, you know. I ain't saying nothing wrong with it, but I'm saying when I see a video of you and you're sweet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:27 throwing a bread and Scotty you know I'm working Scottie is sexy She's sexy Very much so And you know
Starting point is 00:58:36 Sometimes folks Like to see her Doing her thing You know And she's She's fun She likes to have a lot of fun She likes to
Starting point is 00:58:43 You know She's a sweetheart She likes to have fun She's great But I do want to say Could you be with one woman? You know I've said I'm
Starting point is 00:58:52 You know I'm at this place Where I'm still Oh shut the fuck up I know, I'm being honest. I am. I am, I am, and I am, and I have said it before I am finding me. I'm finding me.
Starting point is 00:59:08 And I think that's important. I do. I do. I don't mind me. I don't start playing that. I never heard that one. Don't stop. I'm finding me.
Starting point is 00:59:20 And I think. Yeah. Because I don't do it into everything baddy, but I remember when it was the. son of girl claims and then the whole thing you were in a relationship with her name is Janisha and she was one of the producers on the show
Starting point is 00:59:34 so Janisha so Janisha Janisha and I we were in a relationship for seven years we were in a very traditional girlfriend boyfriend boyfriend relationship for seven years Janisha is absolutely beautiful inside and out
Starting point is 00:59:48 and I love her she's great we're friends you know and I know there's a lot of rumors out there This is a politician. No, there's a... She's fine as hell. She's pretty.
Starting point is 01:00:03 So I will say, you know, Janisha is great. And again, we have a great friendship, a great relationship, and she's doing her thing. And I'm proud of her. But I do see a lot of rumors out there that about Scotty and Janisha. I hate to see people coming at either one of them. You know, it's not fair. It's not okay. Because if anything, it is on me.
Starting point is 01:00:26 You know what? mean it's on me you know I I make every decision is it is it pertains to my personal life and for me when I was saying I was I was finding myself I'm not really saying that as an excuse to do whatever to do just whatever it was really it was a situation where you know I was finding myself when it came to my spirituality when it came to you know relationships and really what that meant because it was like you know monogamy is one thing polyamory polygamy you know all these thoughts are coming to your brain i don't you know i've never been married i've never
Starting point is 01:00:59 i've never no jeannecia and i thought you guys were married jeanisha and i have never to downplay our relationship we just you know we we were very much in love and you know we still love each other and have love for each other but we're we're just not together anymore and i am dating you know scottie i guess i've never been married never been engaged never had children and i've just been kind of you know i had a place where i'm just like all right what it what am i doing you know Did you be with one woman, LaMelle? That's a great question. I don't know yet.
Starting point is 01:01:30 I don't know. How old are you? Please. How do I look? No, I'm just kidding. You look young. I'm not even joking. Late 20s.
Starting point is 01:01:37 Thank you, man. That looks like a kid almost. Yeah, I'm in my 30s, but I just, I feel like, like I said, I'm just life, life at life. I'm not looking at life. No, I know. They're trying to find the right words. It is. Can you be with one woman?
Starting point is 01:01:52 Oh, can I? Can I? Can I be, I am, I am being careful because it is sensitive. I don't know. I don't, you know, we're, we're in a new, a new error, you know, 20, 25, and, you know, I have my theories, my thoughts about life. I don't, you know, when I think about marriage, you know, it does scare me. My parents were married for over 30 years, and it was very hard to see them get a divorce, and that kind of impacted my life, you know, tremendously. I love both of my parents.
Starting point is 01:02:21 My dad is my hero. my mom is my heart. And so for me to see them, you know, separate and divorce and, you know, all of our siblings, we were very close. It was, it was very hard and it was very discouraging. And so for me, like, I don't want to be a cheater in a marriage. I don't want to be labeled that. You know what I mean? And so it's kind of like, you know, I just want to get it all out, yo.
Starting point is 01:02:48 It's not even getting it all out. I just think it's very hard for men to be. and a monogamous you know what I mean I do I think if you had to be real like what is it just gets to a point where it's like what is cheating is it just physical is it mental and physical is it emotional and so I just you know thinking about these different things I just it's just hard for me to try to you know it's not hard when you find your person yeah I'll say that when you find your one when you find your person it's not as hard as you think so you're married right yes sir and you've been married for
Starting point is 01:03:22 I've been married for 10, yeah, 12 years now. Were you married prior or this? No, it's my first marriage. Okay. But I mean, to your point, I was, I mean, I definitely wasn't, you know, always faithful. But, you know, when I did make that commitment to my wife and say, hey, this is what I want to do for my wife and my family and myself and be a faithful man, it's not hard. It's not how when you find your person. No.
Starting point is 01:03:45 Yeah. And I appreciate that, you know, that, you know, feedback and just also, you know, you're, you know, hearing that from you. As a man, you know, it's hard for men to, I don't know, it's, it's, it's, it's, I don't want to say to be loyal or to just be with one woman, but I don't know, I just, I hate the idea of hurting someone to that degree. If I'm in, I'm making an oath under God and, you know, my family and her family is just, it just, it just feels like, you know, I don't want to say a lot of pressure, but it just, I don't know, I, I, I, I, I, I just, like I said, I'm finding me, man. And I, like I said, are you being honest. this with these women oh yeah a hundred percent you know I've I've been honest with everybody I mean they may not like it they may not want to hear it but I think they appreciate the honesty of it all be the transparency and you be cool with
Starting point is 01:04:35 it no not at all I mean that I just I just don't right you know not at all I wouldn't support that because you know I think that you spend too much money on yeah I wouldn't I wouldn't say I wouldn't spend too much money I I just think that I do want to make sure I'm supporting the person that I'm dating and that I'm with. And I don't think it's always reciprocated of what they could do for me and what I can do for them. And that's okay. You know, I think I do go above and beyond, you know, the scope of maybe what's required in a traditional relationship. Big tricking.
Starting point is 01:05:14 That's what that means. No, no. I am not a trick. I am not. And I'm not trying to do for a woman. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, no, I'm not, I'm not tricking.
Starting point is 01:05:24 I'm not a trick. I'm not a pimp. I'm not any of those things. I've never been those things. He's not wrong spending no money on somebody that you're dealing with, though. Yeah, I think. Or somebody that you're saying. Yeah, I think, I think.
Starting point is 01:05:34 But he plan to have a cast, though. He'd say he can't be with one woman. Not a cast. You're an interesting individual, Emel. Thank you, man. I enjoy talking to you. Thank you so much. And can I, can I shout out a few people, just if you all okay with that?
Starting point is 01:05:46 Yeah. Well, I just want to say, I do appreciate, because there are folks that really work hard behind the scenes, and there's a lot of folks that, you know, we've been employing like hundreds of people, at thousands at this point of folks, but our presidents, you know, Jason Tobert and L.J. and Shane
Starting point is 01:06:02 Norman, you know, I love you guys and I appreciate all the hard work because without them, you know, Zeus wouldn't be what it is as well. That's my guy. L.J. My brother. And he just had a baby, so I'm really happy for him. Congratulations, L.J. Yes, congrats. And Jason, who's our other president,
Starting point is 01:06:18 Shane. So, and just everybody else at the Zeus Network, we appreciate guys. We love you. And yeah, we're excited about the future. All right. Well, it's Lamont Plummer. Zuznetwork. Yes. That's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. You want to wrap before you go? Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 01:06:33 Go. B.O.S. No, I'm sorry. I'm not going to. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Justelari. Sholomey and the Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Don't forget next hour, just fix my mess. So if you need relationship advice or any type of advice, you can
Starting point is 01:06:50 get on the phone lines right now. 805-85-105-1, but let's get to the latest with Lauren. Lauren becoming a straight fact. She gets them from somebody that knows somebody. She gets the details. I'm the home girl that knows a little bit about everything. She'd be having the latest on this. The latest with Lauren LaRosa.
Starting point is 01:07:10 Sometimes you have facts, sometimes you have details, sometimes you have a little bit of everything. What's the latest? On the breakfast club. Talk to me. Charlemagne. L.L. Colbe, what's up? Can you guess which post on
Starting point is 01:07:22 Instagram is the most shared post on Instagram ever yes Kendrick some Kendrick something from Kendrick on Instagram no Drake Drake it doesn't mean something from Drake no I'm sure it's some random meme about something I don't know
Starting point is 01:07:38 no according to Meta Taylor Swift's engagement post got the record for most repost on Instagram by hitting more than 2 million reposts in less than 24 hours they are now at 9.9 million shares 32 million likes and 2.5 million reposts. That's not surprising. People love Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 01:07:58 She's white and white people love Taylor Swift. Oh, well, you know, I just hasn't mentioned it. Did y'all see the third? And the real Swifties can name three of her songs. I'm not Swifty. Oh, okay. I've said that multiple times. I don't have the bracelet.
Starting point is 01:08:10 I'm not Swifty. She couldn't even name two. I know. First of all, I named two. No, you did. I said shake it off in bad blood. Y'all didn't give me bad blood because y'all said I looked it up. Taylor Swift is America's sweetheart.
Starting point is 01:08:19 Okay, none of that is surprising. Yeah. You want to know their songs? I don't know, but I know a couple of names. Who's the first song that come on, come to mind right now? Literally shake it off. Then don't let them distract you. See, this is what I be talking about.
Starting point is 01:08:32 You like Taylor for a specific reason. I love Taylor Swift because I feel like Taylor Swift understands how to work her audience. She is a, she's so smart. You said you like her brand? Yes, I'm getting at her brand. Even the way they did this like engagement, it was like, oh, she pops up on the podcast, being so cute with her boyfriend. Everything's so performative. It's, well, so I'm curated.
Starting point is 01:08:53 But listen, there's a lot of people that curate and do all this stuff, and their fans don't feel like you their best friend. Her fans literally, like live and die by Taylor Swift. They feel like they're her best friends. She does an amazing job with it. Everybody fanbees feel like that. Like the Barbes feel like Nikki is their best friend. Beyonce.
Starting point is 01:09:08 I feel like Beyonce is their mother. Those are moguls you just named, though. And that's what I'm saying. She's younger. And I realize this during the Airs Tour. But they don't pull up like Taylor Swift fans. Taylor Swift fans, they're going to make sure her stuff's allowed. Until I see somebody pass out.
Starting point is 01:09:20 The movie's crazy. Ain't nobody on Michael Jackson level. I'm sure Taylor's Fins pass out. I'm sure they pass out. I'm sure them little girls pass out. What are you trying to say? I just want to make sure because I missed the part where you, did you say Taylor was bigger than Michael Jackson?
Starting point is 01:09:32 I did not say Taylor was bigger than Michael Jackson. I didn't know. Oh, you saw a quiet I got, I was like, Evie, what is... Where do you get that from? I didn't say. I heard yesterday the thing about passing out of us. She said Michael Jackson fans pass out. I said, I'm sure Taylor Swift fans pass out too, but there's like...
Starting point is 01:09:45 She got teachers canceling classes because she got engaged. I saw an article about a teacher who was so overwhelmed. They had to cancel class because of the engagement. I'm pulling my kid from that school. Yeah. What's going on? I don't know. I'm definitely pulling you from your school. The goddamn teacher passing out over Taylor Swift. Yeah, I'm pulling my kids for your school. The teacher didn't pass out. The teacher said
Starting point is 01:10:03 that they were just like overwhelmed. There was a lot going on. I thought about that yesterday though. That's why she made her engagement public because she puts all her relationships in her music, right? Yes. But that's why even if you're not like a Swiftie, you feel like that's why I was genuinely genuinely happy for her because normally the relationships don't work out
Starting point is 01:10:19 and then she's going to make music about it. Now she locked in. I ain't going to say I'm happy. I just don't care. I was happy for her. I like fairy tales. I was happy to see she finally got her person. But anyway.
Starting point is 01:10:28 Because we sing her through relationships and when we've heard about them and the music like you said. But yes, I think this. Now she's going to make love music because it's usually like bad breakup music but it's love music. Do you look at Coco Jones engagement as a fairy tale?
Starting point is 01:10:41 Oh my God, yes. I love Coco. I just make sure I didn't hear you use those words. Were you in here when we had the conversation with Coco? And I was like, girl, you were so happy. You are glowing. I'm so happy for you. I am all things...
Starting point is 01:10:51 They just got engaged last week. I didn't hear you used the words like fairy tale. That was not last week. And when the engagement happened, we talked about it. And we talked to her about it when she was here. But we're going to keep going, we're going to keep going to keep going to when you walked in. Fairy terriette. We're going to keep moving because speaking of numbers, I know, man, that's that words.
Starting point is 01:11:06 Speaking of numbers and women, let's go to Cardi B because Cardi B is back. It's the fairy tale. Cardi was back on the stand. Let me tell you all something, okay? You're talking about animated fairytales or just animated anything. Cardi B going to give it to you. you so she was on this thing yesterday and she stood on business when it came to this trial because you know she's been sued for millions of dollars right now what color wig did she have on this time
Starting point is 01:11:28 yesterday she had on a black wig and we're going to get into the wigs because i got some numbers let's take a listen to carty b standing on business tell us in your own words what you said i said bitch get the fuck out my face why are you in my face why are you recording me ain't you supposed to be security tell it to her now go ahead huh see it again take your honor you want me to say to her face what you said on that day so she can hear it for herself And if you wanted to scratch or cut her face with your right hand or your left hand, if you wanted to do it, you could have done it, correct? You're not disabled.
Starting point is 01:11:59 But I didn't because I had a baby inside me. How did she know? Are you disabled? Yes or no? At that moment, when you're pregnant, I'm very disabled. You want me to tell you the things I can't do? Fine. What was your...
Starting point is 01:12:12 You said she's bigger than you? Is that correct? Absolutely. How do you know that? I mean, look. Love to see. So, Cardi B has been her own, well, there was an assistant yesterday
Starting point is 01:12:27 from the medical office that I got on the stand as well. But for the most part, Cardi B has been her best own witness. She's been able to recount everything. She's being super honest about what she feels is happening. She's doing an amazing job on the stand.
Starting point is 01:12:38 When I say the prosecutor, that's the prosecutor, right? The guy in Target, he is the dumbest. Yo, he is crazy. They were coming at her so bad yesterday. They were trying to make her save. He was really trying.
Starting point is 01:12:49 to like... Literally say it to her face talking about the, you know, the claims that Cardi B said that the girl was big and all the things. He wanted her to... He wanted her to look at the jury.
Starting point is 01:12:59 Like, look at the jury and tell them exactly what she... Yeah, but the judge... Well, at some point, the judge was even like, look, yo, that's calm down. Well, the first day...
Starting point is 01:13:08 Can we go back to her wigs? Cardi wigs be looking so good because the last couple of years I'm so used to seeing trash-ass wigs up close and personal but that wig, her wigs be looking so amazing. They look like real hair.
Starting point is 01:13:18 Yes. What's the last? that day, they was like, this is not my hair? I'm like, oh. How much I think Cardi spends on her wigs
Starting point is 01:13:24 just for, just for this trial alone, how much I think Cardi has spent on her wigs? More than you do? Oh, why did you do that? Why did you do that?
Starting point is 01:13:31 That was unnecessary. That ain't, that ain't know this. That was so unnecessary. Cardi B got, Cardi B got the yellow money. She got Berkins, but listen, so I did some digging. I spoke to Chris.
Starting point is 01:13:39 Chris is the manager for Tokyo Stiles who was Cardi B's hair stylist. He told me that for this. Shout out to Tokyo style. Yeah, shout out the Tokyo styles. She slays down. For this trial alone, Cardi B is spending up to $45,000
Starting point is 01:13:52 or will spend that by the time this trial is over because her plan is to do a different wig every single day. She spends about $1,500 just for the unit, about $5,000 a day just to retain her hairstyle. The judge even complimented one of them. He said, that's a good week today. We have that audio. That may mean like the one the day before.
Starting point is 01:14:11 Take a listen to that audio. Yesterday you had black hair, short hair. Today it's blonde and long. Which one is your real? Or are they both real? Their wigs. Okay, sorry I didn't know that. It's a good week today then.
Starting point is 01:14:30 That's a good wig today. Words, somebody that I know will never hear. Wow. That was a opposing counsel that wasn't the judge. Because at the end of it, if Charlemagne wouldn't have been up here talking and Hayton, at the end of it, he also asked her, this was the day before. yesterday too he also asked her is she gang affiliate and she doesn't answer and then the
Starting point is 01:14:51 judge says council you know better so they stop it because they've been coming at her but yeah 45,000 dollars by the end of this trial the crazy thing about this is and this is what I don't understand when they have when they do depositions and things like this why does it matter what week she had on yesterday or what makes she had on today what does that have to do
Starting point is 01:15:08 with the case because she said what what did you what were you wearing that day she said I don't remember I changed my hair styles all the time I don't know but salute the Tokyo styles I know they're giving her free product after this no listen Let me tell you all something. Tokyo is big already. Tokyo's getting products already.
Starting point is 01:15:22 But the Jenner's hair. Yeah. Tokyo slays down. But what I was also told is while all this is happening, right? Cardi's still in album rollout mode. So, for instance, yesterday they were, she did court, they got her ready for court. She went back. They got her ready for, they were shooting content.
Starting point is 01:15:38 They were up until 5 a.m. She will then change, do the wigs and all the things all over again, go to court and do it all over again. Because she's promoting Amada drama as well. So she's dishing out the money, but she's working. and trial is also happening, and she's having to be on stand. It's a whole thing. It's a lot.
Starting point is 01:15:52 Yeah, but to answer your question, they brought up the wigs because they wanted to know what she was having on, but more so her nails are a thing because the woman is alleging that Cardi cut her with the nails, so they're asking her how she changes
Starting point is 01:16:02 and does all the things glenwise, so. She's filthy rich. She has a team. All right. Well, they just want to know. That is the latest with Lauren. Again, next hour, Just Fix My Mess, 800-585-105-1.
Starting point is 01:16:13 If you need some relationship advice. Sholomey, who are you giving that down to two? Man, four after the hour, man. We need a Kansas man named Cleo Williams, Jr. To come to the front of the congregation. He's a freak. But, you know, you can be a freak at a very inappropriate, inopportune time. Cleo!
Starting point is 01:16:27 All right. Why the hell are you screaming for him? I told you this man is a freak. And then you're going to stay in the name. Hold on. Every day I wake up. Wake your ass up. The breakfast club.
Starting point is 01:16:39 You're all finished or y'all's done. Tell I made it. Don't be out here acting like a donkey. Pee-ha, bitch. He-ha. It's time for Donkey of the day. I'm a big boy I can take it If he feel I deserve it, ain't no big deal
Starting point is 01:16:50 I know Charlamini guy Gonna have some funny, sweet shit out of this mouth This guy says something you may not agree with Doesn't mean I mean Who's getting that donkey? That donkey, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't Donkey of the day right here The Donkey of the Day.
Starting point is 01:17:04 You can call me the donkey of the day But like, I mean no one Excuse me? Donkey of the day for Thursday, August 28th goes to a 44-year-old Kansas man named Cleo Williams Jr. Sometimes I see Junior in people's names and I say, boy, their senior must be embarrassed.
Starting point is 01:17:19 Okay, and today is one of those days. See, Cleo Williams Jr. is a freaky-ass boy, and we all just need to come to the realization that there's some people on this planet who are always going to think with their little head, okay? Regardless of what the circumstance is, regardless of what's going on in their life, cheeks are their driving force, okay? Cheeks rule everything around them, all right?
Starting point is 01:17:39 Some folks have compromised their whole existence for cheeks, okay? It's true. They have absolutely zero. And I mean zero D discipline. And when you don't have any D discipline, you're done for out here. Okay, a man has to learn to control three things, his stomach, his tongue, and his penis. Okay, a man that has learned to control those three things to solve 99% of those problems. Okay, well, Cleo got a lot to learn because according to court records, back in December of 2024,
Starting point is 01:18:08 police were responding to a domestic disturbance. And while officers were arresting Cleo, he did something very inappropriate to an officer. what did he do uncle shala well this man was getting arrested and decided as he was getting arrested that he just couldn't resist kissing the arresting officer on their neck and this week he was found guilty of sexual battery against a police officer who knew put your hands behind your back with such a pickup line okay i've heard of people trying to talk nice to cops even trying to bribe cops with money or sexual favors. But this dude, Cleo didn't even ask.
Starting point is 01:18:46 He just started applying affection. Okay, it must have been the handcuffs. Some people sexualized handcuffs, okay? That's why they sell them in sex stores. People like the control, the power exchange. They like that thrilling, submissive dynamic, that feeling of vulnerability and surrender. People find that exciting.
Starting point is 01:19:04 And Cleo must have been one of those people, okay? Handcups are sexualized because of their association with control. Okay, that power exchange, that, intense desire that creates a thrilling submissive dynamic okay that's what some individuals find very exciting okay i said it i said that i said that twice on purpose okay he got them handcuffs okay put on him by that officer and he turned into a vampire he went straight for the neck do you know the level of extra horny human you have to be to be getting put in handcuffs by a police officer and as you getting put in handcuffs you kiss a police officer's neck now it doesn't say whether
Starting point is 01:19:39 the officer was a man or a woman okay but if it was a man, the friskiness of Cleo, don't make any sense because you're going to jail. You can kiss all the men's you want to in jail unless, of course, you really, really, really, you know, get bricked up over a man in uniform. But if the officer was a woman, you kissed her on the neck because you wanted to get one little taste of female flesh before they put you in that cell surrounded by pork whistles, okay? I wish I could say this word on the radio because de-discipline don't hit like when you say Dick Gregory. But my brothers, you got to have the discipline, okay?
Starting point is 01:20:15 Sexual discipline, I'll say that. Sexual discipline, you have to learn to have, okay? Because you got to redirect that energy towards being productive. You want productive goals, not short-term pleasures. Okay, this man Cleo Williams, Jr. is getting incentives on September 26th all because he let stop and frisk turn the stop and kiss. Please give Cleo Williams, Jr. to switch down. Is it a hamletones? Oh, now you are the donkey.
Starting point is 01:20:45 Of the day. You are the donkey. December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush. Parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal glass.
Starting point is 01:21:21 The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and order, criminal justice system is back. Starting point is 01:23:56 or wherever you get your podcast. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs
Starting point is 01:24:23 that mimic military basic training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming and you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Starting point is 01:24:49 Nobody tells you anything. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All the day, yehaw. Scream his name out now, envy. Cleo. Yeah, you screamed his name out a little while ago. He sure did.
Starting point is 01:25:11 Nope. Yeah, you don't want to scream it out now. Crazy. And why was you even just scream his name after he said? He's a freaky-ass boy. And you need to come to the front of the congregation. He'd probably been to Kansas before. You don't click to your heels and went back home.
Starting point is 01:25:24 No, I have a house. You probably didn't DJ in Kansas. You know Cleo, huh? Lord. Do not know Cleo. All right. You're all crazy. All right.
Starting point is 01:25:32 Well, thank you for that donkey today. Yes, ma'am. Sir. Up next, Just Fix My Mess. 800-585-105-1. We'll get to that next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:25:43 The Breakfast Club. Tell us, tell us, man, it's the real deal. Help me. Help me. Oh, my God. I'm all up in your mess. I'm going to fix it. Fix it.
Starting point is 01:25:57 Fix it. Just going to fix your mess because my advice is real. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Just hilarious. Salomey and the Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. It's time for Jess Fix My Mess.
Starting point is 01:26:07 We got Stephanie on the line. Stephanie, what's that? Yo, good morning. Good morning, Steph. What's your question for Jess? So, I was recently married for about six and a half years. And my ex-husband now, what was girl around, she was real cool. We, you know, hung out, all of that.
Starting point is 01:26:26 Things just started getting weird. So I had a conversation with her, like, hey, I don't play about my family, yada yada with the skip. Fast forward, that man is with this girl. day. So while he was your husband, he introduced you to a girl, made it seem like that was his home girl and everything and all that, and you got to know her. Everything was cool, but they were messing with each other the whole time. He said no, but I went to his phone when we were married and seen that he was like paying
Starting point is 01:26:52 for waxes. She was meeting him at hotel room. He had paid to get her window fixed. Okay. Then he had left, came back. We stayed together about a year, went on a family vacation, he didn't come back. He went right back to her house And her house is right around the corner, right?
Starting point is 01:27:10 She live about a bridge away And Cleveland is close Yeah Okay So what's your question? What you're doing? Are you, I'm just trying to stay out of jail Because every time I see them, I want to pop off
Starting point is 01:27:24 They listen at me like, I'm wrong for feeling I'm like, I'm not tripping You bought this girl around And now I'm just supposed to be like Okay, well, you just moved on no you had this girl picking my kids up from school she was kicking it with us oh no damn okay so what did the conversation go like did you divorce him like like what happened when you bought it to his attention that you knew because you went through that phone like how did it end or did it in what happened oh we were still messing around up until you a couple of months ago until I moved to Georgia I mean shame on me I should have realized that you know I shouldn't have been messing with him but I've known him since I was a kid we were together 14 years married to Yeah, that's the thing You thought you knew him
Starting point is 01:28:08 For as long as you've been on You thought you know him But that just goes to show you, man You still never know what people got going on And it makes it hard for you to trust after that Because you've been knowing this man since you were a kid Y'all got married and he still had a side Man, that's the crazy thing
Starting point is 01:28:23 Is she a sidepiece if she was technically with him Before y'all got married? I think she was with him before we got married Yeah, that's what it sounds like Because I would come home some days And they would be in the house And they would be like oh well I just got here I pulled up
Starting point is 01:28:35 girl I'm gonna tell you right now once me and you got into it you should have called me up like hey your dude showed up to my house I don't know what's going on I'm friends with both of y'all but this is what it is she ain't saying nothing no no you block my number
Starting point is 01:28:51 block my oldest daughter's number they even come up to my house together no see look I'm her and him been pulling up so I moved I'm gonna put okay I'm gonna put some of this on you though because there ain't no way I'm coming home
Starting point is 01:29:05 and I see you already in my house I don't give a damn who you was introduced to me as ain't no woman about to be up in my house when I come home with my husband I don't care if that's his friend that's his female cousin that's somebody he called his sister I don't care I don't care
Starting point is 01:29:19 unless you are his mother or my mother no it doesn't work like that so I'm gonna put some of that on you because I think you turned a blonde eye to a lot of it because he made her and and I get it you know what I mean He introduced it.
Starting point is 01:29:34 He introduced, he made you feel comfortable around her and vice versa. But at the same time, as a woman, oh, no, certain things are just inappropriate. You don't do that. So I think you did the right thing. And you don't need to go to jail over that. That been, look, that been done. You just ain't know. That been done.
Starting point is 01:29:51 Yeah, it's just so crazy. We need out places and being my kids, see them at the store. And I'm like, you can't go over there and talk to them right now. Yeah. My kids is old enough to the point that they know. know better. They like, they don't even want nothing to do what they did because of the situation. And he's cool with that. Well, if he cool with it, look, it ain't no, it ain't nothing up, no sweat off your back. You did what you could do. You out of that situation. You live in a different state,
Starting point is 01:30:17 different city now. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Trust me. Okay, Jeff. Thank you so much. God bless everybody. Congratulations on the baby. And yeah, I own up to that. It was just real crazy. I got you. Good love, Mama. Thank you, baby. We have Darius on the line. Darius, morning. What's your question for Jess? Hey, good morning, morning. Good morning. Yeah, I'm calling at all. So, man, I'm the first time just, you know, love you guys.
Starting point is 01:30:41 Thank you, brother. Love you, too. 15 years on Pasha, DJ Envy. Thank you, sir. Two n***-a-low. Two n-n-low. I was really just trying to call for get off your chest, but I guess I called for the message, so I got some messiness to get off my chest.
Starting point is 01:30:58 Okay, what's up? I was, my phone, my phone. I've been messing with this. is a shorty for about a year now. But she's my cousin, ex, and they still live together and everything, you know what I mean? This show cousin ex?
Starting point is 01:31:17 And then they still live together. They're married? No, no, no, no. Oh, they just live together. They're still in a relationship, and you are smashing. How long have you been smashing? Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 01:31:28 They, what I was told, she said they broke up. before we start this master. Do you not realize that hoes be lying? Just like y'all lie, we be lying to. We lie to get what you want. So don't even play. I'll be, you know, I'll be over there, you know, we'd be chilling and stuff.
Starting point is 01:31:51 How did this even happen? No, no, no, no. How did this even happen? Please don't tell me you was chilling with your cousin one time and she came in the house and then y'all started flirting way back when or whatever and that's how it happened. Please. Hey, you got the script, yes.
Starting point is 01:32:05 Okay, okay. Another goddamn tube movie. What are you calling from? Hey, I don't know. Call that an arches off. Oh, Lord. All right, so what are you going to tell your cousin? Because you got to tell your cousin, honey.
Starting point is 01:32:19 I got to tell him. Yeah, you got to tell him. Obviously, he's your close cousin. This ain't one of the cousins that you just see every few years. This ain't the cousin that you don't really talk to like that. This is your guy. Because you was chilling over his house when you met his girlfriend. and started smashing her.
Starting point is 01:32:34 So I noticed there's some type of... But they're being broken through. But she still lived there. And he ain't over that. Oh, he would have left. He ain't over that. That's his girl. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:48 They're just going through a rough patch. Nah, not what I'm being told. But look, but look, I ain't going to hold you. I was messing with a n*** one time, right? And... Come on with you, look. Come on. This was back in the day.
Starting point is 01:33:03 day, right? I was messing with him one time and he brought his homeboys around and I was like, damn, I should have waited to see like all the homeboys before I made my decision or whatever because I was like, damn man, his homeboy. Look better to him, got a better job to him, got a man handle kids, everything.
Starting point is 01:33:19 So you got to wait. And I want to be an impression that. Shut up, I don't want to hear that. It's still your fault. You got to talk to your cousin, but I understand how that could have happened but you got to talk to your cousin. You got to say, you got to tell them.
Starting point is 01:33:37 All right, I'm going to try to fix something. All right. I appreciate you. All right, no problem. You have a good one. Just Fix My Mess, 800-585-105-1. When we come back, we got the latest with Lauren, so don't move. It's the Breakfast Club, good morning.
Starting point is 01:33:52 Good morning, everybody, we order to breakfast club. Let's get to the latest with Lauren. Lauren becomes a straight car. Tell us, ladies. She gets them from somebody that knows. somebody. She gets the details. I'm the home girl that knows a little bit about everything. She'd be having the latest on this.
Starting point is 01:34:07 She'd be having the latest with Lauren LaRosa. Sometimes you have facts. Sometimes you have details. Sometimes she have a little bit of everything. What is the latest? On the breakfast club. Talk to me. So, congratulations goes to Kim Newton. It was announced yesterday that him and ESPN have reached a multi-year agreement.
Starting point is 01:34:27 He will be expanding his role on ESPN's first. Take. So Kim Newton says in a quote, or in a statement that he's excited to be back with First Take in their team to share his voice on all things, sports. This is an incredible opportunity for me to connect with fans and bring my passion and knowledge to a show I've always admired. So they're going to
Starting point is 01:34:45 kick off his return coming up during a live show that they're going to do at Norfolk State University as a part of First Take's HBCU tour. They will also be a Delaware State University too. But yeah, so congratulations to him. I want to actually... That's dope. Yes, it is.
Starting point is 01:35:00 Drop on the clues bond for Cam Newton. Cam is a great sports media talent. Yeah, he is. I mean, he's great media talent, period, but definitely in the sports media, he thrived. I was about to say, I don't know much about sports, but I do, I like, shut up. I like watching him in his interviews. I feel like he's very entertaining. And he says things that people don't typically say.
Starting point is 01:35:18 He's going to say some things. I do have a question, though, as a person that doesn't watch first take all the time, but we reported about Shannon Sharp and him having it back away from ESPN or whatever happened. Is this because of that? Was there rumblings of this prior to? They sign people all the time, but Cam has been on for a thing. I know he's been because they said they're expanding,
Starting point is 01:35:37 but I just didn't know. I felt like the timing was like... Oh, like, is he taking... Yeah, like, the timing was very, like, ironic for me. But again, I'm looking as like, from a pop culture standpoint, I'm not a religious watch at the show. He's always been on there,
Starting point is 01:35:48 and I think Cam's voice is just getting louder and louder and louder with the things that he do, so I think it's the perfect time, perfect to say it. Yeah, Cam would have got that deal regardless. Got you. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:56 I mean, just wanted to know, I did reach out to try and ask elsewhere to the network as well too no response but I know you guys watch your social on dinner now in other news so Boosie so there's been a lot of conversation around Boosie lately because he recently
Starting point is 01:36:11 took a plea deal and may be facing some jail time yesterday he was in court and he did an interview outside of court and wanted to speak to his fans a bit let's take a listen to this I want to put it behind me I want to get it behind me and get on with my life you know a lot of things this case has stopped me from
Starting point is 01:36:26 traveling all across the world making so I just want to get it over with you know except my guilty plea I'm ready to get over with anything you want to say to your fans just say a prayer for him I just need prayer I don't need nothing else
Starting point is 01:36:40 this is the most confusing case level because I swear I thought that they announced that he was dropped back didn't he? He was confused too he thought it was dismissed as well and it wasn't so from what it seems like they took it from they just up the levels they took it from
Starting point is 01:36:54 it was in the state and then they took it out of the state to a federal case from what it appears, but we're all a bit confused, but basically... So what, the state case got dropped and then it became federal? I don't know the exact... I don't... I can't answer
Starting point is 01:37:06 that question. Is this the gun charge where he was shooting the video and they seen the gun in the video? Is that the one they're talking? Is this one? No, this is actually the one where he was, um, so he was, yeah, so he was seen on Instagram with a gun while he was in San Diego. Then police later arrested him after, uh, using a helicopter to track the vehicle that he was in. So they pulled the car over, um, during a
Starting point is 01:37:24 traffic stop and they found two guns inside the car. Now, originally, like I was mentioned, and he faced state charges for the incident. His initial plan was to plead guilty with the expectation that he would then be sent to probation, but instead the case ended up being dismissed before the plea deal could be reached, and then the federal prosecutors picked it up. So now he's still pleading guilty, but he's potentially looking at jail time. But that twist caught him off guard.
Starting point is 01:37:49 And he actually had tweeted about it and talked about how the twist caught him off guard. He said he thought the case was over. He was going to get on with his life, but God don't make no mistakes. He's tired of fighting. He talked to his family, and this is the right decision to all my fans across the world, say a prayer for me and go get the new album. And I did speak to his publicist this morning as well, just to kind of see what awaiting sentencing looks like for him because the sentencing will go down in November. And I asked her, what is he going to be doing in that time? And she says, you know, he spent a lot of time with his family.
Starting point is 01:38:18 Of course, he's going to keep praying because he wants it to end up positive. But he's trying to stay on the lighter end. So he's making music. He's still working. And I asked her, you know, are y'all preparing for if it doesn't end up on the lighter end sentencing? wise. And she said to me, Boosie doesn't even think or lean that way. So no, they have not even had that conversation. What is he
Starting point is 01:38:34 looking at? I thought he said two years. Well, I think that's like a minimum. I can answer the question for you in a second. I don't know what he's fully looking at. But I think for him, even if it's two years, three years, whatever, after all the jail time he's done in the past and in the big, you know, coming home, welcome home, Boosie. Being with
Starting point is 01:38:53 his kids, he has a fiancé, newborn baby. Don't anybody want to go to jail for no time. There ain't no such thing as a light sentence. People would be just like, you know, you hear that one, two, three. All right, three years behind balls is a long time. That's not light. That's very heavy. You're right.
Starting point is 01:39:05 You miss a lot. Yeah. Well, yeah, so I just wanted to update us there, but, you know, send that. They want to send the message that they want fans that keep praying and they're hoping for this to turn out positive for him. Salute the boozy. Yeah, man. Yep, that's it. And listen, you know, I want to say something.
Starting point is 01:39:22 So, you know, I think it was last week, President Donald Trump posted on true social that a Smithsonian Museums were out of control. Smithstonian. Whatever, what I say? Smithsonian museums were out of control for posting, for emphasizing the negative parts of American history, you know, talking about how, you know, bad slavery was. You know, then back in March, he issued an executive order calling for the Smithsonian
Starting point is 01:39:42 to overhaul his collection and present a more celebratory view of the country. Well, it got me to thinking about how much we need to be supporting these institutions because they are telling accurate American history. So I decided to do something. I want to tell everybody in Charleston, South Carolina, that on Labor Day,
Starting point is 01:39:58 which is this Monday, September 1st, at noon, the International African American Museum is having a free yard party and free admission starting at noon, okay? If you have never been to the International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina, or if you have been and want to go back this Monday, Labor Day, starting at noon, there is a free yard party and free admission, courtesy of myself in the Black Effect Podcast Network.

Starting point is 01:40:45 Starting at noon. He really going to call your sleeves bag now. Drop a bomb for Charlomaine. Yeah, that's prior though. That's really dope. So get out there. Just a quick question. How far is that from Columbia?
Starting point is 01:40:55 How far? Charleston? Probably like an hour, 45 minutes. depending on how you drive I got the answer to that question What's the answer? What's the answer? What? The Boosey question. What was it? How long he's facing? Yeah, like what is he looking up to?
Starting point is 01:41:07 The report said it's up to 15 years, but they're leaning toward the two to three. Okay, no right. Well, that is the latest with Lauren. All right, well, let's get to the people's choice. Mix 800-585-105-1. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Wake up. Wake up. You're like to enter the Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ. NV.
Starting point is 01:41:28 Jess Hilarious. Sholomey Nagai. We are the Breakfast Club. Now we got a salute to LaMelle Plummer for joining us, CEO of Zeus Entertainment. That's right. Don't listen to them rap, though. The new record is all right. No, it's not. It's all right. The sample was cool.
Starting point is 01:41:43 I like the sample. Yeah, the Webby, you know. Like you said, though, it would have been cool if he did through Webby on. The Webby not jumping on no song for no baddies on Zuzon. Shew. Lemell cut that check, he would. But that's the thing. He probably didn't or he would have
Starting point is 01:41:59 he would have put him on there yeah I wonder if that record is even clear is that even a real way it got to be so he got too much money to be doing stuff like not clearing records that is true clearing samples so yeah and yo I want to remind everybody well not a reminder because I just told you all
Starting point is 01:42:13 a little while ago but I want to tell everybody in Charleston South Carolina that on Labor Day this Monday September 1st at noon the International African American Museum is having a free yard party and free admission starting at noon if you have never been to the
