Starting point is 00:01:29 I didn't know. Hey, man. What are you into? I have the hookup. The hookup? The hookup for what? I'm solving a mystery through sex and haven't made a private dick joke until now?
Starting point is 00:01:42 Poppers? Why are there so many poppers? All roads lead to? The hookup. You think it's causing people to turn aggro? and haven't made a private dick joke until now? Poppers? Why are there so many poppers? All roads lead to... The hookup. You think it's causing people to turn aggro? I'm gonna rip your arms off and use them to... Yeah, that's a word for it.
Starting point is 00:01:54 ["I Heart Radio App"] Listen to The Hookup on the I Heart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. Good morning, USA. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. Jess Hilarious. What's up, y'all?
Starting point is 00:02:12 Charlamagne the God. Peace to the planet. It's Thursday. Good morning. How y'all feeling out there? I feel blessed, black, and highly favored. Happy to be here. Another day to serve our beautiful listeners.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Good morning to one and all. What's up, Jess? How you feeling? I'm feeling good. I ainwood, happy to be here. Another day to serve our beautiful listeners. Good morning to one and all. What's up, Jess, how you feeling? I'm feeling good, I ain't gonna lie though. I do not like riding past people that drive the bikes. They don't look. Hit em. And they don't use their lane, I try it. No, they real slick, they just swerve off.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Like, for real, but I just don't, I don't like it. Well, you can hit them, I just wanna tell you that. You cannot hit them. I know, I've tried though. That don't mean anything, that you can't. They supposed to you know, that's why they have a lane Right, that's facts. That's crazy. Like, you know, like the buses got a lane. They in their lane Why don't y'all drive in the lane that's built for y'all? Do you hit your horn loud and aggressively? Absolutely. Or you can't control the volume. Yeah, I speed up on a back wheel and everything and they just don't care
Starting point is 00:03:03 Yeah, don't do that I was actually driving with a person one time in Jersey and for whatever reason, as soon as they got in the car, it's like, I can't stand these people in these bike lanes. Crazy. And they hit the gas and when they hit that gas, they ended up hitting that person in the bike lane. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:03:16 And what happened, the person rolled over? What? Did he? And you know, they be like, it's a bunch of them. Yeah, it's a crew. So he kept driving just for two seconds. Oh my God. They chased him. He had to pull that of them. Yeah, it's a crew. So he kept driving just for two seconds? Oh my God. They chased him.
Starting point is 00:03:26 He had to pull that thing over. Yeah. No, it's funny. I hated the bikers until I became a biker in COVID because I started riding. Oh, you were riding the bikes? Yeah, I was riding the bikes. Miles, 30, 40 miles a day.
Starting point is 00:03:36 And then I started hating drivers. Bluffing ass. I swear. Yeah, all day. The reality is staying in your lane. I did. Absolutely. I told us that yesterday.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Stay in your lane. Yeah, stay in your lane. And your lane ain't Hope Paka told us that yesterday. Stay in your lane. Yeah, stay in your lane. And your lane ain't getting no wider, bikers. Okay? It's definitely not. It's definitely not, because the bikers got to deal with everybody in their lane. They got to deal with walkers, pedestrians, they got to deal with people with skateboards,
Starting point is 00:03:54 they got to deal with all that. So sometimes you got to veer out a little bit to get back in. The crazy part, that's for their safety. That's the ill part about it. Like forget what we saying right now. Stay in your lane for your safety. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Yeah, well good morning guys. We got pretty V joining us this morning. That's my girl
Starting point is 00:04:08 She has a new book the pretty victory a hundred day guide to recent to yourself and find your purpose Yeah, we was in Brooklyn last night at powerhouse arena having a great conversation about pretty V's new devotional The pretty victory okay, so we're gonna be chopping it up with pretty V also, uh, we got a salute You know today's Rihanna's birthday Happy birthday So They don't have an age Asap man, I'm so glad you got found out guilty you'd be sick sitting in prison right now
Starting point is 00:04:41 Yeah on your birthday what she I know I keep calling him his wife. I keep calling her his wife Hey, they not married already. I don't know for some reason. I thought they did. I thought I heard that so I don't know I think so either way I don't 37 god. Yeah 37. Yes. Okay, really? We're that girl birthday here. All right. Well, let's get the show cracker. We got front page news when we come back We got a re rejoin. Okay. All right Happy birthday, Riri. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Morning everybody is DJ envy Jess hilarious. Charlamagne the god. We are the breakfast club. Let's get in some front page news Good morning, Morgan Good morning, DJ envy Charlamagne the god and Jess hilarious. How y'all doing on this Thursday Friday?
Starting point is 00:05:23 Left black and highly favored Morgan. Good, good. All right, so top of the headlines, guys. President Trump addressed the Future Investment Initiative Institute Priorities Summit in Miami Beach, Florida. The summit, which is hosted by Saudi Arabia's Sovereign Wealth Fund, is described as a gathering of global leaders, innovators, and visionaries aiming
Starting point is 00:05:42 to tackle the most pressing challenges and opportunities. He spoke about the Russian-Ukraine war, where he once again blamed Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for starting the war, and he also talked about securing the border and said more tariffs are on the way. Let's hear more from President Trump at that event. I'm going to be announcing tariffs on cars and semiconductors and chips and pharmaceuticals, drugs and pharmaceuticals and lumber probably and some other things over the next month or sooner. And it's going to have a big impact on America. We'll bring in our businesses back.
Starting point is 00:06:17 If they don't make their product in America, then they very simply they have to pay a tariff. But if they do make their product in America, they don't have to pay any tariff. And of course, there's been some drama surrounding President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky. As mentioned, President Trump continues to criticize the President Zelensky on social media. National Security Advisor Mike Wals spoke about the relationship between the two leaders after Trump called Zelensky, quote, a dictator without elections and a post on Truth Social. Now, Walsh slammed those who criticized how the president is handling the Ukraine-Russian war.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Let's hear more from National Security Advisor Mike Walsh. Well, it's one that's frustrated right now and clearly is going in the wrong direction. But what President Trump is focused on is ending the fighting. A lot of the same voices demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and in the Middle East are now, what, criticizing how we get to a ceasefire now in Europe. And I got to tell you all those voices will quiet down when we get to that ceasefire and when we get to a broader deal. So Trump also describes Zelensky as a quote modestly successful comedian end quote who talked the US into going into a war that couldn't be won. Of course this comes a day after Trump suggested Ukraine started the war with Russia.
Starting point is 00:07:40 He also said the Ukraine Russia war is more important to Europe than the US and noted we have a big beautiful ocean as Separation any thoughts on that guys? Yeah, my thought is I hear people, you know repeat the things president Trump said But they never correct him like Ukraine didn't start the war right like Russia launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February of 2022 So, I mean, I don't I don't even know why people repeat that without you know adding the fact that that's not true. Well nobody ever corrects Donald Trump. That is true. That is true. What do you guys think about these talks these negotiations and whether or not you know Ukraine is involved? Ukraine should definitely be involved in the peace talks like that don't even make any sense like you can't you know that's like having a negotiation for your contract and you're
Starting point is 00:08:26 not at the table. Like you're not talking to your agent, you're not talking to your manager, whoever it is, or if you're at your job, you know, negotiating something, you'd be sitting at the table negotiating it for you. So yes, Ukraine needs to be sitting at the table. Right, I would be very fearful if I was Ukraine because obviously we can see Donald Trump has no respect for Zelensky or Ukraine and he's going to do what he wants to do regardless. So you know, he's going to make this deal on behalf of Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:08:50 All right. So moving on, we do have an update on an executive order. An appeals court has ruled President Trump cannot end a birthright citizenship for now. The US Constitution says anyone born in the United States becomes a US citizen. An amendment Trump has been trying to overthrow with an executive order When a Seattle judge banned that order the Department of Justice filed an emergency request to lift the ban and in birthright citizenship So on Wednesday the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled birthright Citizenship will remain the law while the case moves forward with arguments slated for June so we
Starting point is 00:09:25 will continue to update you as June comes around with that but in as as of right now if you were born in America you United States of America you are safe supposedly I Whatever you've been doing, okay, have you been getting low I would stay low Was she born in I know I'm saying real right? I mean, you know, you know, you got no shit off your chest 800-585-1051. If you need to vent phone lines are wide open again 800-585-1051. Call us up now. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning the Breakfast Club It's your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or blessed. So you both have the same energy. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? This is Calvina. Hey, Calvina. Who's Calvina? Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Hi, I'm Calvina. I'm living in Georgia, but I'm from New York. Shout out to Rose Air Queen. And I am a CNA working to get my nurse's license. But I just wanna say that if you ain't in the loving field, like if you don't wanna really take care of people, don't go into the nursing field. These nurses be so brutal.
Starting point is 00:15:19 They don't really like to help the CNAs. It just, like, I just be feelin' so bad for these residents because it just, like, people don't care no more. I agree with that with any public service. If you don't care, don't be a nurse, don't be a teacher, don't be a doctor, don't be a police officer, if you don't truly care about people and have no empathy,
Starting point is 00:15:36 don't go in those fields. I agree with you. That's it, that's what I wanted to get off my chest. Shout out to New York, shout out to Baratza, Georgia, shout out to all the nurses at CNA for those nurses that actually care. And hey Charlemagne, I didn't even say hey to y'all. Hey Charlemagne, hey Envy, hey Jess, hey all your nannies, hey everyone, good morning.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Well you have a good day. You live by where, Snake Road on 232nd around there by the park? No! I'm talking about Barathe Georgia. Oh okay. Where is it? No, no, I thought you said Rosedale, but Rosedale's in Queens. Oh, Rosedale, Queens. I heard about the 226. Oh, 226.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Okay, all right. So you're all from Queens? Yeah. Yeah, I'm from Queens, for real. I've been down here in Georgia, what, 20 years. You forget about your home. I say Snake Road or 232nd in the park. You don't know none of that no more, huh?
Starting point is 00:16:23 Oh, Snake Road over there by the airport, not too far from the airport. Now you know, now you know. Well, you have a good day. Yeah, you had to give me a reminder. All right, have a good one. You too. Bye bye.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Hello, who's this? Hi, I just wanted to say happy birthday to my fellow Caribbean queen, Riri, and also happy birthday to my daughter, Jamie. It's her her birthday also today and I would also like to say happy birthday to my niece who made me an aunt, Jessie. Happy birthday to all three queens. Starting point is 00:17:13 Yeah, sir. I forgot he was late to rest yesterday. Some of the biggest names in the industry came past to give their respects. We're going to break it all down. All right. We'll get into that next. It's the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:17:22 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. All right, we'll get into that next is the Breakfast Club. Good morning the Breakfast Club Morning everybody is DJ envy just hilarious. Shalem ain't the guy We are the Breakfast Club and like you said it is Thursday. Good morning. I am glad my daughters ain't got no dance this weekend I get to relax You got cheerleading this weekend? No cheerleading competition this weekend. Praise God, but you were in this weekend. I work this weekend Yes, I'll be in Tampa. I gotta go to LA Tomorrow though. I got some things going on in LA and then I go to Tampa Saturday. Where you at in Tampa Saturday?
Starting point is 00:17:52 I'm my Hard Rock is on Sunday, but I'm going there a day early, but yeah Hard Rock Casino this Sunday Okay at 8 so yeah, go get your tickets. your tickets. That's official. That's right. Well, let's get to Jess with the mess On the breakfast club the coacheship she was able to get y'all to see something and Understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to set it all. So not one dry eye in the building at Irv's funeral. Yeah, according to reports, which makes sense because I think a lot of people, you know,
Starting point is 00:18:36 from everyone I've talked to who knew Irv Gotti personally, if you got a story, you got a story. Yeah. Thank you. Look at you knowing what to do with the mic. If you got a story, you got a story. Yeah. Thank you. Look at you know what to do with the mic. If you got it. If you got a story, you got a story. Right. So yesterday, Irv Gotti's funeral went down here in New York. It was it happened at Greater Allen AME Cathedral Church. It was a private ceremony,
Starting point is 00:18:55 but there were videos that surfaced online. In attendance, you had all of his Murray Inc. crew, Ja Rule, Ashanti attended. I know some people were wondering if she was actually going to make it out. Lloyd, Charlie Baltimore, Jay-Z, Gail King, Steve Stout, Hype Williams, Benny Boom, Angie Martinez, the Rough Riders crew. But of course, with Ja Rule being there, he stood up and he spoke to give his final words to Irv. Let's take a listen. I just want to say, Irv, I love you. Everyone in this room loves you. Touched everybody in your own way in this room. I know everybody has their moments of that with him. So we all here, celebration of your life.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Because it will live on forever. I love you my brother. See you when I get there. Yeah, and he was obviously really emotional. He had on some glasses in the beginning of his Eulogy dedicated took the glasses off just want to make sure that he was given a proper respect And he spoke to the family and talked about you know now herb is is that peace but they were brothers I mean he got you know he got him signed and started from the very beginning and they were very tight and Thick and thin and they would they were real brothers So definitely rest in peace and condolences and I wanted to ask you envy they
Starting point is 00:20:09 They also gave her like a little ride through the neighborhood You know how like what they did with Nipsey? Yeah, they gave her a ride through it through Queens one last time and they took him past his neighborhood home But they also took a pass a parking Queens that they said was like really instrumental in his career So he's from he's from Hollis, but he got his start as DJ Irv in the park so Irv got his start DJing the basketball tournaments, DJing the park jams and the park things he would just go up set up and back then there was no money you just DJ because you just enjoy DJing so that's how he got his start and meeting everybody in
Starting point is 00:20:38 the you know locally in the streets because that's the way everybody would congregate they would go to the parks and ball out and meet girls and girls meet dudes and that's where you gotta start DJing. You know what I was thinking too, you never know what people's relationships are behind the scenes. Like we don't really know these people.
Starting point is 00:20:53 We just see interviews and we just see moments so we assume things. But if you have issues with a person when they are alive but you love them enough to go to their funeral when they pass, then maybe you don't have the issues you think you have with the person. So you should probably smooth that out while they're alive. I agree. I agree. And I think that when I mentioned that Ashanti was there, people were wondering if she was going to make it out. I remember when he first, when Irv Gotti first
Starting point is 00:21:13 passed away, people were wondering if Ashanti would say anything publicly about it. And she actually did take the time to say it and she talked about how she couldn't believe that things ended like this and she always wanted him to be at peace. So I think to your point, Charlotte, like when it gets to this point, it's like what's really important here. And it was her showing up for him because he did do a lot for her and her career as well. I signed it too. Got her started as well. Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Prayers to his family. I think 50 Cent was picking on Meach again. Lil Meach this time. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah. Lil Meach this time. Lil Meach. So he posted and was talking about the fact that he found He he had to put little me in rehab at some point Allegedly, so he posted saying I'm gonna read the actual quote. Okay. Um, so he posted saying I thought about I thought about it
Starting point is 00:21:58 I think he was uncomfortable with me and me me's relationship. He's talking about little me So my big me being uncomfortable. I'm telling me me I don't want him doing drugs. He's talking about little meech, talking about big meech being uncomfortable. I'm telling me me I don't want him doing drugs. He telling him he he's I don't know what this means. Something about using X the X bill. He said he's telling him to chill. Stop spending your money. He's telling him how much money he blew. People don't know I had to send me me to rehab. Russell horns be peeped he was high on set he started throwing up at weapons
Starting point is 00:22:25 test and then Ian told him then then someone told 50 that little meat chat with bits in his truck. 50 said that he said I said water with bits and he looks and it's the stuff that being BB guns. So he's saying that at some point, little meat was allegedly showing up to set high and it was to the point when it came to substance abuse that he had to send him to rehab. So But the crazy thing is though, like, I've been seeing Little Meach lately since him and 50 been going, you know, like, well, 50 been, because they haven't been going back and forth
Starting point is 00:22:56 since 50 been picking on him, right? And he had been looking high, but I thought I just noticed I just thought that because BMF was like his everything and that's that's gone now You know, it's like a beef, you know that he's that he's been thrown in the hang I'm gonna do it. So that will push him to get high. I'm thinking that that's why he's been looking high lately, but I think the crazy part about this is that 50 is basically implying that his dad It was influencing him to do this. Like I think that that's the craziest part. What? Did he drugs? He literally is basically, he's basically saying like because his dad flaunted his drug use at one point, he was
Starting point is 00:23:33 encouraging the BS that the son was doing. And he's saying that big me didn't like the fact that he jumped in the middle of it to try and like help the son. I thought that that was crazy because I'm like, that's his son. Why would he want to? Have you ever looked into the night sky and wondered who or what was flying around up there? We've seen planes, helicopters, hot air balloons, and birds. But what if there's something else, something much more ominous, that appears under the cover of night, silent, unseen, watching? They may be right above your car late one night as you cruise down the road
Starting point is 00:24:09 or look like mysterious lights hovering above your home. Drones. Or are they? We used to work drone because it was comfortable to other people. One minute it was there and one minute it wasn't. Oh, that is beyond creepy. Do you feel like this drone was targeting you specifically? Yes, absolutely. Listen to Obscurum, Invasion of the Drones, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:24:48 The more better the merrier. Title of your podcast. All your old Brooklyn Nine-Nine friends are appearing on your favorite podcast, More Better. Don't miss Brooklyn Nine-Nine stars and show hosts Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero as they welcome their friends and former castmates back to laugh about old times and swap some stories. This week, it's Gina Linetti herself, the talented Chelsea Peretti. Remember when we were in that scene where you guys were just supposed to hug and I was standing there? Oh yeah! I was like, can I also hug them?
Starting point is 00:25:16 Then next week, the 9-9 nonsense continues as the more better amigas sit down with Joe Lattrullio, aka Detective Charles Boyle. There'll be more laughs, more conversation, more stories from the set, and more, more better. Don't miss a minute. You felt safe enough to throw out a bad idea, right? I mean, that is the key, because you're definitely not throwing out good ideas all the time. I mean, that's just not how it works. Listen to More Better with Stephanie and Melissa on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Do you remember what you said the first night I came over here? How? Goes lower? I met Santi at a luau party in October. I'm Santi. Damien. Oh, it was bizarre.
Starting point is 00:25:56 The guy just disappeared one day. Santi has been missing ever since. The hookup. What is that? I'm solving a mystery through sex and haven't made a private dick joke until now? Like, no matter how hard I try, all roads lead to the hookup.
Starting point is 00:26:11 You think it's causing people to turn aggro? I'm gonna rip your arms off and use them to- Yeah, that's a word for it. This is such terrible representation, I'm so sorry. Poppers? These aren't just any poppers. Mama always used to say, God gave me gumption in place of a gag reflex.
Starting point is 00:26:32 No, my psychiatrist didn't laugh at that one either. Listen to the hookup on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. Hi, I'm Arturo Castro, and I've been lucky enough to do stuff like Broad City and Narcos and Roadhouse, and so many commercials about back pain. And now I'm starting a podcast because honestly, guys,
Starting point is 00:26:57 I don't feel the space is crowded enough. Get Ready for Greatest Escapes, a new comedy podcast about the wildest true escape stories in history. Each week I'll be sitting down with some of the most hilarious actors and writers and comedians for Greatest Escapes, a new comedy podcast about the wildest true escape stories in history. Each week I'll be sitting down with some of the most hilarious actors and writers and comedians to tell them a buck wild tale from across history and time. People like Ed Helms, Diane Guerrero, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Zoe Chow. Titanic. Charles Manson.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Alcatraz. Sarah Shacor. The sketchy guy named Steve. It's giving funny true crime. I love storytelling and I love you, so I can't wait. Listen and subscribe to Greatest Escapes on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You know what I mean? But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:40 People are like, well, what is 50 staking this? But he's saying, yo, I help this family make over five million dollars I just want y'all to know going from herb Goddy's funeral any story about 50 cent is absolute insanity. That is I can see her walking from the gate. Why didn't you stop me in the beginning? You just let me go. You was way too far in. We could have paid respect to her. Sorry Irv, I didn't even think about the... That was ridiculous. We had Jeff over here just doing our job.
Starting point is 00:28:12 I think we saw them look at each other like... Y'all didn't even say nothing. Sorry, that was not purposely done. I was trying to wait for a photo for my second story and it hadn't come yet. And you know people are going to think you're being messy. No, I'm not being messy. They already think that. Exactly. And you know people gonna think you being messy. No, I'm not being messy. I was waiting for it. They already think that.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Exactly. And that is all your fault. Don't blame nothing on me, Crooked Wade Productions. They ain't got nothing to do with me. Okay, Panda Face Productions, Panda Face Poodle, don't play with me in here. But to close out what you were saying, that's the reason why people are saying 50 is that upset
Starting point is 00:28:41 because he's allegedly put that young man in rehab. I'm just trying to close out that story I'm just closing it out. They were all over the place And he put that young man in rehab they gave that family millions and millions of dollars And he was upset with what they did and how they came out so that's the reason why they say we were not being petty And that is just with the mess a run a show thing. Thank you Thank you. Hand to face. Don't get mad at me.
Starting point is 00:29:03 I ain't that into it. You always learn to cry. Alright, alright. Alright. Alright. When we come back we got front page news and then Pretty V will be joining us. She has a new book, The Pretty Victory 100 Day Guide to Resent to Yourself and Find Your Purpose is The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:29:17 Good morning. You're checking out The Breakfast Club. Good morning everybody. It's DJ, Envy, Jess, Hilarious, Charlamagne, The Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get back to some front page news. What's up Morgan? What's up, it's the first friend NV, Elon Musk. Yeah, so he says he will ask President Trump about a proposed doged dividend, that's Department of Government Efficiency.
Starting point is 00:29:39 He made the comment in a post on X, his social media platform, saying he was responding to an investment firm CEO who pitched the idea of a tax refund check for five grand to be sent to every taxpayer funded by savings from the Department of Government efficiency after its expiration in 2026. Now Musk added on X, obviously the president is the commander in chief, so this is entirely up to him. So basically what he's saying is all these cuts, these savings that Doge is going to implement, maybe it'll come back to the pockets of the American people in the form of a tax refund check of five grand.
Starting point is 00:30:15 What do you guys think about that? I think this is why this administration is better strategically at politics and Democrats, because you know, you look at it Monday, there was protests and discreet about what Trump and Elon Musk are currently doing to the federal government. We know 12,000 federal workers have been fired indiscriminately. People are seeing the incompetence of what he's doing because he's firing people that we actually need to keep our country safe and thriving. So you know when those protests started Monday to calm any civil unrest he comes out and
Starting point is 00:30:41 says I'm going to give you this $5,000 tax credit because I'm finding out the government is wasting your taxpayer dollars on nonsense. So I'm gonna take this money and give it back to you. Nobody's gonna question anything they do in regards to Doge if he does that. Sounds amazing to me. And for taxpayers out there that owe money and you get a $5,000 tax credit, people are gonna love it. Yeah, I was gonna say, definitely sounds like STEMI 2.0. So, all right, guys, switching gears to aviation news. Delta Airlines is offering passengers on Monday's Toronto bound flight that crash landed $30,000 each.
Starting point is 00:31:12 A Delta spokesperson says that offer comes no strings attached and does not affect rights. Twenty one people were injured in the incident at Toronto Pearson Airport. The regional Delta Airlines flight from Minneapolis was carrying 80 people on board. Thirty thousand. Is that a good settlement? What do you guys think? I mean, no strings. That means no strings means I can sue regardless, right? So I get that 30,000 and then I can sue. So I ain't got to sign off? No, they're not going to just get them that 30,000 and let them not be able to sue later. They're going to give them that 30,000 and make them sign something so they don't sue later. It says no strings. Delta spokesperson says no strings attached.
Starting point is 00:31:45 I would tell anybody to get an attorney just to double check. Like Sholabay said, you don't want to get that $30,000 and you can sue. But if it's $30,000 of my inconvenience and scaring the ish out of me and then I can still sue, yeah, I would. There's no way they're giving these people $30,000 and not going to make them sign something so they can't come back and sue later. There's no way. We will continue to watch that situation.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Bringing things home to you guys in New York, a judge in New York City says Mayor Eric Adams' federal corruption case isn't yet, he's not gonna make a decision on the case or whether to drop the charges as of yet against the New York City mayor. Judge Dale Ho ordered Adams and the Department of Justice officials to appear at a hearing in Lower Manhattan to discuss the reasoning behind the DOJ's order to dismiss the case for now. Taking the stand, Adams says he was innocent. The mayor has been facing calls for an ouster over allegations of quid pro quo for his cooperation with the Trump administration's crackdown on immigration in exchange for tossing the charges. Now the order triggered the resignations of four deputy mayors and several federal prosecutors. There's no word on when a decision in the matter could be made. Ho says he'll take everything that was said in the hearing under careful consideration.
Starting point is 00:32:56 And I will keep you guys posted as to what decision is made by Judge Ho regarding Mayor Eric Adams. But meanwhile, Governor Kathy Hoco, well, she is speaking out about President Trump right now. So the White House made an illustration, they posted an illustration of Trump wearing a crown. The caption of the post quotes, congestion pricing is dead. Manhattan and all New York is saved.
Starting point is 00:33:22 Long live the king. Now that was taken from a post on Truth Social by Trump. The illustration is reminiscent of Time's magazine cover and it shows a grinning Trump in front of New York City saying the words, long live the King in the lower left hand corner. Now Governor Kathy Hoco, she's defiant over the Trump administration pulling the plug on New York City's congestion pricing program and has announced that the state is suing at a hastily called news conference on Wednesday afternoon. The governor was especially worked up over that tweet following
Starting point is 00:33:50 his actions, Trump's actions. Let's hear more from governor Kathy Hockel. Long lives the king. New York hasn't labored under a king in over 250 years. We're not. We sure as hell are not gonna start now. I don't care if you love congestion pricing or hate it. This is an attack on our sovereign identity, our independence from Washington. We don't care. No, we don't. And I actually want them to pull congestion pricing. I'm kind of with them with this one. Yeah, congestion pricing is killing New Yorkers. You know what I'm saying? And she's trying to deflect from the fact that people don't want the nine dollar congestion pricing. Like that's not gonna work. Yes, two things can be true at one time. We don't want a king, but we also don't want to pay the nine dollar congestion prices. And this
Starting point is 00:34:35 ain't a big joke or little joke either. No, no, we don't want that at all. And people have been saying it and people have been saying how it's been hurting them. And you know, it might be easier for Governor Hoku because she doesn't actually live in the city. There's nowhere around it. Absolutely. No, it's just crazy for her to try to use that. Like it's the big joker. Like I got the big joker, okay?
Starting point is 00:34:54 Like no, we don't want Donald Trump to be a king, but we're talking about these $9 congestion pricing right now, man. So that guy over there saying, hey, no, $9 congestion pricing is not a thing. That's what we want. I did read something where they said you know they can keep congestion pricing but the price is too high charge two dollars and fifty cents that nine dollars is you're really stretching
Starting point is 00:35:12 New Yorkers you're really stretching anybody that comes to the city tourists anybody from coming out of town people that just want to see a broadway player go to a nice restaurant you're stretching them so they're saying instead of charging nine dollars maybe charge two fifty. And I don't even know where it's at So being that I don't know where it's at like, you know, I'm driving a different car I know you hit with the rate. No, exactly. I'm driving a different car right now So my easy pass is in my goddamn glove compartment
Starting point is 00:35:34 So when I'm going through the tolls, I gotta go reaching there to pull my easy pass out But you know, I don't know where the hell we at with the congestion price It seems like more people to your point You guys are there more people are not in favor of this congestion pricing and to your point Envy maybe it just needs to be lowered so we'll keep you guys posted um so that's your front page news I'm Morgan Wood follow me on social at Morgan Media for more news coverage follow at Black Information Network download the free iHeartRadio app and visit us at BINnews.com thank you thank you Morgan. Hi Morgan. All right when we come back Pretty V will be joining us.
Starting point is 00:36:05 She has a new book the pretty victory. It's a hundred day guide to recent to yourself and find your purpose and we're going to talk to her next don't go anywhere. It's the breakfast club good morning. The breakfast club. Everybody is DJ envy just hilarious Charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club. We got a special guest in the bill we got No book the pretty victory 100 day guide to recent to yourself and find your purpose is out right now. How you feeling? I feel so good. I feel blessed black and just you know obsessed with this book now, you know I'm just excited for this journey. Like, it came from a text message via social media post
Starting point is 00:36:47 and now just having my own book. Like it's just, it's amazing feeling for sure. It makes sense for you to have a devotional, a book full of affirmations, because all you do is send us devotional affirmations every day. Yes, so it makes sense. So it's completely on brand for you.
Starting point is 00:37:01 On brand. Yeah, and you know what I love about it, because we just gonna jump straight into it, because we're just going to jump straight into it because my sis got other press. So you know, what I love about it is you had said how to use this book, you said it took you 100 days to start thinking new and doing new things. What are some of the things that you felt like you had to work on in those hundred days? What were the hardest things that you had to overcome?
Starting point is 00:37:22 Well, just not entertaining social media. That was one of it. That was like a fast. Yeah I was like literally in my closet writing this. Like I literally was just like I was giving snippets on social media. I was like I watched TD Jakes so when I seen TD Jakes sermon he's like stand on what you know and for me I'm a mind person. You know me I be all in my head overthinking things.
Starting point is 00:37:40 But it was more of like okay let's separate from what I know that I'm familiar with doing the skits on the table entertaining checking the social media checking the DMs Engagements so like girl you could just have this book deal and you need to get to it Like so I was really in my closet I had to separate just sacrifice the social media take that away for a little bit and get locked into my closet and just start Writing and I would just throw a little snippets on social media to see how people's gonna react and it just became a book And I just had to literally write write write each day, you know start writing and I would just throw a little snippets on social media to see how people are going to react and it just became a book. And I just had to literally write, write, write each day, you know, shout out to Nikki, shout out to Frankie, like just for helping me because I still wanted to add like the
Starting point is 00:38:12 comedic side and you know, wanted to, you know, Charlemagne, like yourself, asking y'all for your quotes, like what makes you guys victorious? Trying to put it all together and not just be your typical devotional because everyone is not religious and everyone doesn't understand, you know, spirituality. Yeah. So I believe in Jesus Christ. So, you know, I didn't want to dump that down either.
Starting point is 00:38:30 I needed to throw him in there. But it's for everyone. It's a unisex book. It's for the women as well. And I just wanted to really like tap into the other side outside of being funny for sure. There's so much. Why this for your first book though, because Devonna is a person that wears many hats, you are not just funny
Starting point is 00:38:46 You do so many other things. Why not? Yeah, the first book. Yeah a memoir like you said why? Not even I A lot of people don't know you are Davonna XL. Yeah who you say who you are. Because a lot of people don't know you are Devonna XL. Who you say, who you are in the book, I ain't trying to spoil it. But you do say in the book, I'm going to save who I am for the next book. Okay. Why is that not the first one? I just, for me, I just feel like I just have so much work to do. Like that's not even there yet. Like I just need to like do some so much more. I'm just not there yet. And I feel like
Starting point is 00:39:22 let's put something out where the people could appreciate, you know, and I was like this devotion. Someone told me I had an interview they were like, Okay, well, we just be like the funny be like this is just look at so serious. I was like, girl, you haven't even got the book. But not even right. You know, like, I want to give you guys a part of me. And if this is what I have to do, I'm going to be still. I remember when I had we had COVID. And I reached out to Charlotte when I was over thinking we got to work that Charlotte said to be still I hated when we had COVID, I reached out to Sharla one day, I was like, oh, Sharla, I'm overthinking, we ain't got to work. Sharla said to be still. I hated when Sharla told me that.
Starting point is 00:39:49 I was like, be still. I hate the word still because I get to think, I get to be in my head. But that's one of the things that's to answer your question in the beginning, like I had to be still and I hated it because I was like, this has to be written and the only person that's going to write it is me and whoever else we hire to help me put it all together. So I mean, I just wanted to put a devotional out because I'm like, it's just necessary. Like you said, it's on brand and I just want people to hear my story. Everything that I've been through, you know, delay has never denied you. I talk, you know, I talk about Hollywood in here. Just don't change, you know, and just keep going and you know, don't be afraid to walk alone. The relationships,
Starting point is 00:40:21 I have friendships and people I've, you know, dated like how you just don't have to walk alone in your pain. You need God will send help. He was an angels. I talked about in the beginning when I was so hungry in college, I had no money. I had no food. And Mr. Daniel said that to, you know, San Augusto University. Hello, North Carolina. He helped me gave me $50 and laid on his heart. God said you didn't eat. And here's here's money. I just talk about all prophetic me. Yeah, that's in here that brought me to this day So I just hope it I know it's gonna help us So you feel me the mission is I don't look at the numbers I look at like who am I touching in this season and if that's what it is, we're gonna rock out
Starting point is 00:40:54 Yeah, I wanted to ask now your mother's a pastor, correct? Yes She is Yes into you so talk about growing up with your mother being a pastor and you're still doing the funny skits and the outlander Skits and but you still are so close to your faith. Yeah. My mom, like, again, her mission is to do what she has to do in ministry. But it's a thing, we're doing ministry, okay? We're healing.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Laughter is healing. Outside of what we do is a gift. What Jess does on stage, I can't do what she do. That's up there 15 minutes, 20 minutes, four to five, 45 I'm gonna be like can we do some magic tricks on them. But that's what you do. I wanna do some magic tricks y'all. Y'all wanna see it? Like that's me.
Starting point is 00:41:38 You know like. That is me. Like can we do some magic tricks. Come on now like let me put the pink robe back on like that's just like I commend them for being in their purpose and walking in their purpose and being the legend that she is. Me on the other hand, I'm like, I'm going to jump on some tables, I'm going to be a personality, these characters that I have, and there's no judging. Just walk in your gift.
Starting point is 00:41:58 And when God steers you some other way, go do that too. But right now in this season, I'm just doing both. I'm balancing it all. People may take it serious, may not. And some people may not take it serious, like, okay, should we trust in this character that has been doing this stuff for years? Now she's writing a book, I don't believe it. So that's why everybody face, I'm posting every day about it. I ain't on the table right now. I'm going to just let y'all see what's going on because respect this avenue. We're, we were doing a lot but respect this calling until I decide to say, alright, it's been five months now, let me get back to what I'm doing and
Starting point is 00:42:32 still carry with it because it's my brand. You know, but my mom, she loves me, she doesn't judge, she's like, if this what you're doing, just don't do nothing that's gonna take you away from God. That's it, that's all. She's not that type of mother for sure. And then you started out your first show last year when you did Charon. Oh, Charon the Bike Y'all. Charon. That was very different.
Starting point is 00:42:50 You was in Atlanta at the, where was you at? What was the name of the building? Center Stage. Center Stage. Yeah, we was there. Yeah, you sold that out? Hurry. She ain't never say Charon sell out. Charon the Bike Y'all.
Starting point is 00:43:01 Yeah, and that's the thing, we put her on the road too. You're like, you know, we added more characters. I was actually scared about that. She should put her on the road like it's not her. Like, we gonna putting her on the road too. We added more characters. I was actually scared about that. She should put her on the road like it's not her. Right. We're going to put Sharon on the road this year. So I'm excited about that. I was just trying to just make this book going. But Sharon deserves a stage, more people to see her.
Starting point is 00:43:16 New York for sure. This is the pit of Gyal, Jamaican people. So I want to bring her out here. But yeah, I wasn't afraid. My mom mom came up she seen me whining she seen me talk about people she see me up there carrying on so yeah we just want to walk into that. You know the interesting about that you talked about Jess and her gift of being able to do stand-up like you know stage plays have been around forever you know I mean if you would have made multi millions of dollars off stage plays of course we know the Tyler Perry's the David Talbert I think yes David Talbert I think yeah but but but that's a lane that a lot of people
Starting point is 00:43:49 especially your generation aren't in you could easily be producing stage yeah yeah and everyone tells me that they're like was just like, yo, you could be producing plays. Like you're just so- That'd be like, how you know? You know? You're like, yo, you feel me? Like- Yeah, Megan Thee Stallion just unfollowed you too, man.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Well, she wasn't following me in the- From the jump. Oh, okay. Yeah, she wasn't following me from the jump. You trying to stall, stall, stall, stall, stall? Yeah, I'm saying. Bawdy! Oh! She wasn't following me, but I love Meg.
Starting point is 00:44:27 I love Meg but I'm just telling you what he told me. Shout out to him like, hey, I think you should do that. And of course, Charlotte told me too. I brought the idea to him like, yo, I want to do this. I want to do these plays. I want to get my characters involved. But my thing is, I sent him out the devotion. I said, look, thank you so much for that advice but we're going to act on it're gonna act on it, but I just I just want to make sure everything is right and someone told me just do it
Starting point is 00:44:49 I think I just be scared of people just like a y'all gonna show like y'all gonna come out and support me That's how I was at Sharon. I was like y'all gonna buy a ticket like, you know what it is And I was so nervous that day, but you know faith and faith can't coexist man I know I know so that's why I just I went at it and just did it All right, we got more with Pretty V. When we come back, don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning everybody.
Starting point is 00:45:10 It's DJ, Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. We're still kicking in with Pretty V. Jess? Now with all of the long list of everything that you've been doing, you also received your honorary doctor degree in Humanitarianism. I say that word right, Humanitarianism last year. They was on your ass. you've been doing you also received your honorary doctorate degree in humanitarianism. I say that word right humanitarianism last year. They was on your ass.
Starting point is 00:45:29 I know. Jess said it should be a certificate. I knew it was coming. I knew it. A certificate Sissy. Now did that. Now I know you are proud of that. I'm extremely proud of you.
Starting point is 00:45:37 You went to college in real life anyway. You got a real life. You know what I mean? But not taking anything away from your honorary doctorate degree. But did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, did that moment with your degree, I know you are proud of that. I'm extremely proud of you. You went to college in real life anyway. You got your real degree. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:45:45 Yeah. But not taking anything away from your honorary doctorate degree. But did that moment when people were coming for you or you know the backlash that you received from it, did that take away from like the enjoyment? Did that take away from you know the fact that it was a victory for you? That was still a victory. Yeah. That you received.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Um, it did but it didn't. Okay. Right? Because like I said, I wasn't the only one who received it. My mother received it that day. My brother received it that day. And I feel like there's the process. It wasn't like, yo, what up? Can we honor you? You're going to get your doctors?
Starting point is 00:46:15 No. I had to like fill a whole moment out. I had to get in this class and do these essays. I had to just do the whole thing before I got it. So that moment dragged out for the longest. I was like, why are we still talking about the doctors? I ain't never told y'all I was getting a white coat. I never told y'all I was in school.
Starting point is 00:46:33 I didn't say, Sharla, come to the graduation and just be here at five and bring your wife and kids. I didn't say that. I said- I don't think you have that many tickets. I got six kids. I didn't say I was feeling great about it.
Starting point is 00:46:50 Like all these great people got it. Usher, Missy, Michael Jackson, I guess because I'm not in that caliber. It doesn't matter and she's on the girls. She's doing a skits and like we're not taking it seriously. Oh, they're just giving out this title to everybody. Whatever. I was like, whatever. I got it.
Starting point is 00:47:03 They, they seen me, they acknowledged me, they gave me my flowers. They shouldn't change the name. It shouldn't be a certificate, Jess. But at the end of the day, it is what it is. I got it and I stood on it. And I know my friends were happy. I know you guys. I definitely was happy for you. I was just like, let's get it. Let's go. So it's just for the next person. They may call you and say, Jess, we want you to be in honorary Delta. I'm like, I'm all for I love that
Starting point is 00:47:26 For you. Yeah a doctor's We like jazz do you not know I did a whole video for you when you got this position for records reference club The whole video was represented around Jess hilarious because this is awesome where you're sitting Thank you like this. it was no other person. I hit Shalala, I said, oh, you, that's a Jess seat. Like she deserves that seat. So even when you went gone, but missing for the baby, I'm like, okay, we're Jess at, you know, but again, things had to come in and fill in for you.
Starting point is 00:47:57 But this is your seat. So as a person, as a pretty V, a B Simone, a Jess Hilaris, a Drew Ski, a Marco, these are accolades that we're like, what we're getting. And I'm just happy that I got it. And I'm happy that it's all my house, stood it up and I'm like, I'm excited. It's amazing. I got one from South Carolina State,
Starting point is 00:48:15 Jess getting one from Baltimore City Community College. Oh my God, what? No, I'm not getting anything from Baltimore City Community College. No, they didn't send nothing here. They don't even have Twitter. Top of the street. They have a Twitter.
Starting point is 00:48:26 It's a community college. Don't do them like that. They don't got no damn Twitter. Tuesday City want to give you honorary doctorate. You didn't hear that? Look, and if Jess get that from the community college, we lit. Like, we lit.
Starting point is 00:48:36 You know what's great? You don't have to look that up. He had to look that up. You know what I'm saying? Yes, and he is such a clown. BCCC. See? I told you he looked that up.
Starting point is 00:48:43 That's why he lit. Anyway, you talked about. I'm happy about it. You said earlier that you know you talk about people you've dated in the book and stuff too. Yeah I ain't say no names. You ain't say no names in the book. Ain't no names in the book. I actually called to make sure I could throw a little slip of the tongue in there.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Where's the love life now since you've been always working with yourself and you had a hundred days to change and to think newly. Yeah. Where's the love life now? So if you had a hundred days to change in the bank newly yeah, where's the dating status? And not ready to mingle we is focused we is to it I mean we have where I'm on a mission right now I got to just focus on a pretty victory you focus on all the great things whatever I put down I'm picking back up in this season. I feel like like I'm just growing Spiritually more like I'm asking God to cover my heart, be open to new connections, but cover my heart,
Starting point is 00:49:28 cover my borderlines of my ear gates. Like I'm just really intrigued, just having fun. Like the skits, the comedic side, and I'm running what Charlotte told me. It's like, yo, you're all purpose entertainer. I'm running with that, doing everything I could possibly do, whatever I put down on picking back up. So right now I'm single, you know, I hear whoever like,
Starting point is 00:49:45 you feel me like, Miami Dolphins, Eagles, what they do. Like whoever I am. You know, dentists, entrepreneurs, where y'all at. Bus drivers. What? What? What? What?
Starting point is 00:49:58 Whatever I hear, you feel me? But we, you know, we working single. I'm just vibing out. I want to ask both of y'all something, you and Jess, right? Cause in day 19, you hear me, but we work in single. I want to ask both of y'all something, you and Jess, right? Because in day 19, you talk about following God's instructions, right? So I want to ask you, how do you know what instructions are God's instructions and what's not? And I wonder about that in regards to relationships.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Like does God say, you know what, that's who you should be dating or that's who you should be dealing with? Absolutely. I feel like God sent me a man after his own heart. You know, me and Chris, we pray together. That's my partner. Just the first time I've been in a relationship where I actually feel like we're doing the spiritual growing together. You know what I mean? Like and other relationships they I'm not saying that I was dating atheists, you know, but I would initiate the praying. I would initiate. Oh, let's let's read together. Let's you know when you know
Starting point is 00:50:43 you sent me to it is right. He took one. He's like, Yo, I's let's read together less, you know when you know, you sent me two of these right? He took one he's like yo, I didn't know she was doing the daily to both my say yeah Well, she sends me he said I know she was turning into a book and you know He started reading it like he he's very very spiritual He's Christian Godfair man And yeah, I do feel like God has spoken to to me and told me this is this is the last person that she won't be with This is the last and final relationship and this is the one.
Starting point is 00:51:06 This is what I was preparing you for. I do believe that wholeheartedly. Yes, I believe that for you. So what about you, VF? Has God told you, look, I don't want you dealing with nobody right now? See, God is not the author of confusion. So whenever it gets a little rocky for me,
Starting point is 00:51:20 I know that's not him. I've been in spaces where it's been confusion, manipulation, I talk about that, conniving, just controlling and that is not of God. Now, God will put you in a situation for you to learn. It's a lesson. Like a warning does come for destruction. I mean, I can't understand what that means. Like it comes for destruction. So I think in this season, God is saying be still and be patient because you have tapped into different relationships where it wasn't good for, because you have tapped into different relationships whether it wasn't good for you. You have tapped into different friendships that held you
Starting point is 00:51:48 back. So I think in this season, he is telling me to be still and wait on him. Seek he first the kingdom of God. I keep hearing that every time somebody called me, they're like, Oh, you were in my spirit and this dropped in it, Matthew, you need to read it. So I'm like, okay, what am I doing that is moving too quick and not bringing God along? So and and waiting on his answer. So that's why I said in the beginning I'm just waiting on that soft whisper to move so in this space that I'm in I'm like if it ain't of him and if I ain't if we ain't doing we need to do I want you I don't care how much money you got I don't care if you got the G unit chain on I don't care if the the DeBose is to the ground
Starting point is 00:52:22 I don't care the Timbs is flapping that I don't care if the jibows is to the ground. I don't care if the Timbs is flapping. I don't want it. Yeah We want a new york Alright we got more with pretty V when we come back is the breakfast club good morning. Morning everybody is DJ Envy Jess Hilarious Charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club. We're still kicking it with pretty V. So question What's the most important chapter in this book to you? The most- If you wanted one person to say, I wanted you to read this one chapter because I think this chapter is whatever.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Yeah, I love you. I love you. And why? Because we don't hear that enough. The household I grew up in, my mother said it, but my dad was very slim to none. Caribbean man, very hard, very like straightforward. You don't hear as much. And then when you do, it's like, I have to say it.
Starting point is 00:53:10 All right, dad, did you hear me? I said, I love you. I love you too. My father showed he loved us for sure. But it wasn't like I want you to tell me that because the trips and the gifts and the Christmas stuff and the spectacular school clothes, that's cool. I need to tell you who I fell in love with and they broke my heart You know, I need you to understand like that. I'm hurting right now and I don't need to call my mentors in the industry
Starting point is 00:53:33 To ask for advice. I want to call you first. So I Love you is my my favorite day of the book I don't know what day that is, but that that's one of them point because we don't hear it I didn't hear how was that change you as a person? Do you say I hear it. I didn't hear it from you. How has that changed you as a person? Do you say I love you to everybody now because you missed that? You didn't get that like you wanted? I do say I love you to a lot of people but I also, I think my heart is warm to people. It's like more open because my father was very closed.
Starting point is 00:53:57 Gotcha. Yeah, like again, it was just all about making sure you're dependent, you're this, you become a lawyer, you become a realist. He didn't care about the comedy. He was just like, that ain't gonna, like, whatever. Until I showed him that I could turn funny into money. Until I showed him that I could do these things about my first home and help the family, you know,
Starting point is 00:54:14 as much as I can. But I love you was not, he didn't say that as much. Where is your relationship with your dad now? We're good, we locked in. Like, that's my daddy. Like, you know, but it's just, like being a Caribbean person, everything's hard. Like, it's just like, all right, books, make sure you're in there.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Have you ever looked into the night sky and wondered who or what was flying around up there? We've seen planes, helicopters, hot air balloons and birds, but what if there's something else, something much more ominous, that appears under the cover of night, silent, unseen, watching? They may be right above your car late one night as you cruise down the road, or look like mysterious lights hovering above your home. Drones. Or are they? We used the word drone because it was comfortable to other people. One minute it was there and one minute it wasn't. Oh, that is beyond creepy.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Do you feel like this drone was targeting you specifically? Yes, absolutely. Starting point is 00:56:27 on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Do you remember what you said the first night I came over here? How? Goes lower? I met Santi at a luau party in October. I'm Santi. Damien.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Oh, it was bizarre. The guy just disappeared one day. Santi has been missing ever since. The Hook Up. What is that? I'm solving a mystery through sex and haven't made a private dick joke until now? Like, no matter how hard I try, all roads lead to... The Hook Up. You think it's causing people to turn aggro? I'm gonna rip your arms off and use them to-
Starting point is 00:57:05 Yeah, that's a word for it. This is such terrible representation, I'm so sorry. Poppers? These aren't just any poppers. Mama always used to say, God gave me gumption in place of a gag reflex. No, not my psychiatrist didn't laugh at that one either. No, my psychiatrist didn't laugh at that one either. Listen to the hookup on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. Starting point is 00:58:16 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Make sure you become who you're supposed to be. Don't do this, don't do that. But like me and my dad's like my best friend. Have you had those talks with him? We had a moment one day in Miami and we were back and forth and like I was like in his space and like you need to respect that. So he texted me and my dad and my dad don't even know I don't even know how you know how to text.
Starting point is 00:58:43 I was like is my little brother doing this for you or this is from your heart? And he was like, we just have to work on communication. That's the first time he understood my side and I understood his side, you know, so yeah. How did you pick who you wanted to do your, to help with devotionals? The impact that you guys put on my life.
Starting point is 00:58:59 I mean, before like I knew what rap was, Sharla was just like, yo, this show would be great for you. You know, the advice that I've gotten over the years from him, keep going. I text Sharla and I'm like, love you, keep going. You too, V, keep striving. It's just the impact. Jess, I watched her growth.
Starting point is 00:59:16 I'm inspired by her walk. Again, I can't do what she does. I think it's inspiring to me. Issa taking a chance on me to be a part of her show and still speaking to me after the fact, checking up on on me and you know, she was going to be one of my moderators, you know, for the book tour, but her scheduling for people, this is what I'm saying, people who to come out they wait to do things. Like this is a pinch me moment for me. You know, I don't take this for granted. Like everything to me is like pure and genuine.
Starting point is 00:59:39 I love it. And Shaq for giving me the best advice. Every time I will respond in the blogs, Shaq will hit me like literally two minutes after you know how to call you like yo tell Shaq don't block me. I know. I think for me it's more of like him giving me the best advice don't respond. You're a queen you don't come off your throne for them people and I didn't understand because I want to explain so much and he's like no we're not doing that and Duval like that's just my dog.
Starting point is 01:00:02 Kierah Sheer helped me when I was in you you know, in my head during COVID. She gave me her aunt's counselor, you know, therapist so I could talk to her. So shout out to Kierrasheer. Like I was really in a bad place in 2020. And she was just like, you know, look at the Bible, everybody in there had committed suicide, overthinking you had this in the Bible. Like this, you're not the only one walking through this space V. Like keep your head up and I'm gonna give you my auntie's counselor so you can talk to them because I was afraid of it. Like I was like, I'm a church girl. Like all you gotta do is pray and you'll be all right.
Starting point is 01:00:30 But no, you actually need somebody. What put you in that space in 2020? Just the COVID, you know, and I had COVID and COVID hit me mentally. It didn't hit me physically. I was just in my head a lot. The brain fog, overthinking stuff, like just doing the most. And I kept calling my mom, I think I need to go talk to somebody. And she was like, it's COVID.
Starting point is 01:00:49 Like it was bad. 2020 was bad. Everyone was passing away at that time. And I just didn't know how, I didn't know how to center myself. And I think in that season, it's like getting your word, like God's pulling on you with some things. He wants to talk to you spiritually. And that's when I reached out to Kiki and she was just like you know I'm gonna tell you right now to keep going but you know
Starting point is 01:01:06 this is gonna happen but get in your word and I'm gonna give you my auntie's you know counsel so you can talk to her so everyone plays a part of my life even the Victoria Teach Campbell like just everybody in here so be Simone like everyone's in this book. Let's end on this you say if you're starving you'll eat anything. Oh Lord. If you're starving, you will eat anything. It's just plain and simple. You know, again, you got to wait and be patient. Like I just said, if the opportunity come for me to do something that's off brand, and I want it and I feel like I'm not doing anything in the moment and I feel like I need the money or if I feel like I want to be at
Starting point is 01:01:41 a place just to show the people I'm working I'll do anything down the line It starts tinting things and tinting the brand and making you look crazy when you should just wait be patient in this And just wait. That's the thing like opportunities have come to me to do certain things and I've said no no No, but if and I know I needed the money. I know I needed to do certain things I know I wanted to put it towards a Sharon show or just my craft. But if I would have said yes, I'm just doing anything just to do it. I'm not waiting on the process. That's what I just said. And I think day two, there's a process before the promise. And the thing about it is we'll just go through, try to go straight through that promise. And it ain't doing nothing. It's just you just did it just
Starting point is 01:02:22 because to seem to show your fans and your followers that you moving and you working. I'm out here with da da da but they got you doing all these roles. I remember a producer hit me and said yo I want you to be a stud and be like a lesbian stud in one of my movies and I was like you straight? Like I don't want to do that. I'm bigger than that. Like you know like no shade. Like I don't want to put like you know you remember the stomach out like y'all straight like I'm good. Like I don't want to put like Right, right Like I don't want to do that. Did you tell him I would do that? Because this is crazy why you call your sissy You want to do this
Starting point is 01:03:03 Want to be a stud? Jess would've killed me. You already know. You already know I ain't get study on these b****. I get study on them. Like, a lesbian, she a little, she a little butchie. A pregnant lesbian? And she, like, wife beat on, picking her hair, all that. What? I'm like, I don't wanna do that. You don't see that for Jess though?
Starting point is 01:03:18 I see it for Jess. But I didn't wanna do that. You're a fowl. You ain't passed out. You're a fowl. Well, the book is out now to Pretty Victory, and I think it's only right we leave with a prayer. Yes, a pretty prayer, that's close. A pretty prayer.
Starting point is 01:03:31 What a pretty prayer book. Is it like a long prayer or are we getting... It's up to you. It's up to you. Because you got to go. Close your eyes and you go. Father God, we just thank you so much for today, little God. We thank you that you are so worthy.
Starting point is 01:03:42 We just thank you that you are so massive. We thank you that you are so powerful, little God. Father God got I want to say thank you so much for what you're doing and what you're about to do little guy in these last and evil days little guy the scene in the unseen the hurt and unheard little guy oh yeah we thank you for all the doors that you're opening but all the doors that you are closing little guy I thank you for every soul who's around this table little guy just little guy keep her in perfect peace little guy let us know that she's seen little guy let us know that she's heard little guy every cry that she's cried
Starting point is 01:04:03 little guy that you hear her touched down on her heart little guy purge her into her greatness little guy is so much things that she's seen. Let us know that she's heard. Every cry that she's cried, I ask that you hear her. Touch down on her heart. Purge her into her greatness. There's so much things that she wants to do in this season. So give it to her. Give her the witty inventions to do it. Bless Envy. Keep him going. Allow him to be the best father he knows how to be.
Starting point is 01:04:17 Let him quiet the noise. Whatever he may be dealing with that we may not know in his secret place. We just ask that you cover him under the blood. His kids. Do a round of protection over his kids, even his wife. Many opportunities will fall with his family. Bless Shalome. Keep him in perfect peace. Anxiety, anything that he may be thinking about, overthinking, anything that he may be feeling like on the days that he may not express. Father God, we just want to say thank you. Keep him. Father God, we just ask that you catapult Shlemagne's career little God to higher heights little God
Starting point is 01:04:47 It's never too late little God to do it little God father God Whatever he's writing down in his journal little guy Whatever he's thinking about little God him and his wife shall do little guy even his kids will eat off of those benefits Little God and father got the generations to come and to come and every soul that's a part of breakfast clubs team little God Bless them now and forever more in Jesus mighty name. Amen. Amen team. God bless them now and forevermore in Jesus mighty name. Amen. Amen. Amen. See how intentional she is when she prays. That's right. It's pretty free. The pretty me, the pretty victory. It's the Breakfast Club Good Morning. Morning everybody we are the Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jess with the Mess. She don't spare nobody. Worldwide Jess, worldwide message. On the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:05:30 She's a coacheship. She was able to get y'all to see something and understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to set it all. Oh my God, what happened to LeVar Ball's foot? Charlamagne, why did you go under the table left and right? What'd you say to him? I could be a messie.
Starting point is 01:05:49 I dropped something. So yesterday online, prayers for Laval Ball started going viral. People were like, what the heck is happening? And TMZ then did a story. They got some exclusive details that he had suffered a serious medical emergency. He had to get his right foot removed.
Starting point is 01:06:03 And he's well, he's in great spirits. Dang, the photo that I was waiting for last hour. So you didn't get the confirmation on which foot? It's the right foot. Okay, because earlier she was like, it's either his right or his left. I was like, he got another one somewhere? It has to be one or the other, Lauren.
Starting point is 01:06:19 Lauren, you didn't say that. I did. Yeah, she said that. She was so serious. She was like, it's either his right or his left foot. Sometimes I feel like I be too, You are. Yeah, she said Right I'd be to invent like I'd be you are I'd be so focused I'm like because when she said you had to invest you just really want to make sure you got it
Starting point is 01:06:32 Yeah, it's either right or the left. I'm not sure he's in good spirits I did want to show you guys the photo because I think when you're smiling, but he his leg was infusated So Lord, yeah, then they have some love. We don't know what happened though to answer your question. We just know it was a medical emergency that resulted in him. And nobody has to disclose what their actual medical emergency is, but I'd be wanting to know from my own personal experience. Yeah. I'd be wanting to know how do you prevent things like that from happening.
Starting point is 01:06:57 Well, I'm not going to say what they, well, no. Because there was a rumor what was online, what they assumed it to be. They assumed it to be diabetes because usually black men have problems with diabetes and usually with diabetes they have to do that to your leg because you have pure... Who is BDs and why are they dying? Poor nerve damage and poor circulation which usually is the reason why they have to take the foot off. When I heard it I assumed that but I don't know that for sure but I did assume that when
Starting point is 01:07:22 I heard it. Yeah I seen a lot of people saying that yesterday. Especially because he's been, because you know he was like such a big personality everywhere and I don't change him cheese and right day as a Not been as like like out out well he did what he had to do he got two kids in the league and another kid that got a Hit record right? Speaking of somebody else standing on business,
Starting point is 01:07:46 Wallo was on Club Cheche. Yes. Wallo sat down with Shannon Sharp for Club Cheche. They talked about a ton of stuff. But they did get into- I know that was a long conversation. Bro, it was like two hours. But it was good, though, from start to finish.
Starting point is 01:07:59 I enjoyed it. But they got into a couple things. So they talked about when Gilly's son was shot and killed and just how that day went for a while on Gillie. Let's take a listen. We was at the radio station in Philadelphia and I'm in the bathroom. He's like, look, cheese got shot. I said, what?
Starting point is 01:08:15 So immediately I jump on the phone. I call, you know, I'll call our family in the Philadelphia police department. I'm like, listen, I put Gill on the phone, right? So we drive, he driving his car. We flying up to the hospital. He on the phone, he's like, I'm gonna check into it, I'm on it just under the third. So when we hang up, me, him and Gil on the phone, he say, I'm on it, Gil, hang up. Our people call me back and say, call me by yourself, keep Gil off the phone. So we driving, we get to the hospital, Gil there, Chee's mom there, everybody up there. I had my phone going vibrate. Our people call me, he say,
Starting point is 01:08:44 listen, he ain't make it. I put the put the phone now put in my pocket. I attempted to walk out of the emergency room You know say what happened cuz what's up cuz what's going on cuz and I'm walking and he keep following me He's a cause what's up, and I grabbed him. I said he gone. That was the most crazy. I've ever had to do I watched that yesterday. I was yeah, I was gut wrenching. Yeah Yeah, and then then after this Shannon Sharp comes in and asks him about rumors about the Illuminati That was a wild follow-up question. Yeah, that was ridiculous I've had some ridiculous questions in my day. In that moment, that was a wild follow-up question.
Starting point is 01:09:27 While it was crying, still, that was a wild follow-up question. No regard for his. And then we talk about your little cousin. This is directly to you. I had the audio if y'all want to listen to it, but we don't really. We don't have to. He also got into a little Dirk as well, too. Because y'all remember that was such a big moment.
Starting point is 01:09:42 He decided not to take revenge, and now Dirk is uh locked up let's take a listen to that moment it's not about them listening it's about conditioning it's about environmental you can listen to everything that i say but a lot of time as i'm still growing i don't have the resources to remove you from the danger that you're up against every day a lot of things these young lovers they smart a lot of them are smart but their environment don't allow them to grow because I can't move out of this environment right here. And I know them dudes down them block. They want to kill me. I got to protect myself. I want to kill. So it is deep. And all we do is criticize young black male every way possible. But we don't bring no resources.
Starting point is 01:10:18 So I can tell these young brothers this, that and the third, but they still got to take care of their baby. But they got to figure out the only way that they know and in order to really take somebody to another level you got to have time energy and resources to deprogram them so you can reprogram them. The programming was hit. The dehumanization of black people by black people was strong that we done. I don't think y'all realize how special Wallo is. Drop on the Clues bomb for Wallo. That's a good black man right there. I love that brother.
Starting point is 01:10:44 He broke down crying about like just you know not being built a way to like he doesn't ever want to cause harm to another black family like what his family went through talking about like just why he didn't retaliate when it came to his brother's death and just the way he explained it and just I was like man Wallo is like protect him at all costs like just a message. The God is don't worry about that. He's a violent protected. We be saying protect people at all costs but we don't protect our own like we should but he's a violent protected believe that. And they kind of got into that too they talked about a lot in this interview it was really good
Starting point is 01:11:12 and the reason why this was brought back up is because as you guys know little Dirk right now is behind bars he's waiting to face charges for murder for hire in the killing of his brother D-Thing. No we wish you would listen now. Yeah, maybe not, you know? You just like he said, like Waldo said sometimes, you know, that's all they know, you know what I mean? No matter how much money you got or whatever,
Starting point is 01:11:34 if you can't see, you know, if you don't really have like a plan to put in place to help people do what they, you know, help people elevate, then it really ain't going, you know, you can't expect for them to, you can lead a horse to the water, what they say, but you can't make them drink. They don't even wanna hear you. You trying to tell them what they should do,
Starting point is 01:11:50 stay out the street, blah, blah, blah, but are you putting any money in their pocket? Are you providing them any opportunity? They don't even try to hear you if you ain't doing that. And that's also, hurt people hurt people. You get to a situation where you're hurt, and sometimes it's hard to express your feelings, and you want revenge, and you want revenge by all all costs and the people around you are usually saying yeah
Starting point is 01:12:07 Let's go revenge and sometimes you need that person like a while or you need that person to be like, yo Yep, cuz guess what you still go back you're in prison still break You're right. You're in prison still dealing with that same trauma even worse now But you know what's crazy is while I said dirt called him and said yo come talk to these people like the people around him Like he wanted to get them straight because Of that everything y'all are saying right now. So that's kind of the irony and dirt situation. Yeah, but it's a difficult one. Yep Again, salute to Wallo Thank you. All right, and that is just with the mess. All right now also just fix my mess
Starting point is 01:12:40 You can get on the phone lines eight hundred five eight five one. Oh five one We'll start taking your calls when we got donkey today up next? Yes indeed there's a woman in Savannah Georgia she went to a clinic called the coastal fertility fertility fertility clinic and they need to come in front of the congregation we'd like to have a word with them please. Alright we'll get to that next it's the Breakfast Club come on. You're checking out the Breakfast Club. out the breakfast club. Was Donkey up to date? Name it!
Starting point is 01:13:05 Damn, the hee haw again? It's time for Donkey of the Day. I ain't trying to be Donkey of the Day no more. They should be embarrassed by what they already did. I'm not making these people do these things. Call Donkey of the Day and it really caught me off guard. Damn, Solomon, who got the Donkey of the Day today? Well, Jess Hilarious, Donkey of the Day for Thursday for Thursday February 20th goes to the coastal fertility clinic in Savannah, Georgia now, I want to salute
Starting point is 01:13:32 I don't know if it's Savannah, but it is in Georgia I want to salute all the women out there going through IVF treatments We know what IVF treatments are right the fertilization of an egg by sperm outside the body women get IVF IVF for various reasons infertility age Genetic concerns. It's a lot of reasons that women get IVF treatments President Trump actually signed an executive order aiming to reduce the cost of IVF on Tuesday I believe that's a good thing, right? But what if you are a woman who is out there trying to get pregnant through IVF you want to have that baby?
Starting point is 01:14:04 Oh the joy you feel Two weeks after that embryo transfer and the doctor gives you a positive result and tells you that you have had a successful Implantation and pregnancy drop one of Kluge bombs for those who have experienced that level of joy But what if You didn't get what you paid for meaning you paid to get pregnant You know had the baby, but what if what they put into your cart isn't what you ordered?
Starting point is 01:14:29 You don't find this out until you receive your groceries. Okay? What are you talking about, Uncle Sharla? Well, what I'm talking about is exactly what happened to Christina Murray, a resident of Savannah, Georgia. Salute to everyone who listens to us on 94.1, the Beat in Savannah. Christina was given the wrong order, ladies and gentlemen. Let's go to the
Starting point is 01:14:47 Today Show for the report please. My son's skin tone didn't match mine but he was still my son. Christina Murray was finally living her lifelong dream of being a mother. He was beautiful and perfect but it was also very clear that something was wrong. After a grueling round of IVF and nine months of pregnancy, Mari, a white woman using a white sperm donor, gave birth in late 2023 to a baby boy with a much darker complexion. My son's skin tone didn't match mine,
Starting point is 01:15:17 but he was still my son. What should have been a joyful first few months bonding with her son, who she loved and wanted to raise, was punctuated by constant fear and uncertainty. I didn't know whether it was a sperm mix-up or whether he was someone else's. Murray took a DNA test that confirmed her baby wasn't hers biologically.
Starting point is 01:15:38 The clinic she'd used, Coastal Fertility Specialists, eventually determined that they mistakenly implanted another couple's embryo in Murray the biological parents sued her for custody and Murray chose to give the baby she loved up to them rather than fight and I walked out of the building with an empty stroller and they left with my son hey she had a black widow baby or whatever Rita Ora was saying on that song from back in the day. Listen, don't let Donald Trump hear about this. He's gonna blame it on DEI. Alright, this white woman was trying to conceive a child and they put the wrong embryo in her
Starting point is 01:16:13 and she ended up having what the lawsuit describes as a dark-skinned African-American baby. I bet Christina was like, now I understand why I had all these strange cravings. Cajun collard greens. I never craved Cajun collard greens before I was pregnant. Oh my God. Is this why I couldn't stay out of Popeyes? I ate so much sweet potato casserole from Ruth Chris. Oh my God. There were signs.
Starting point is 01:16:37 The smell of blackened mouth smoke never bothered me. Can you imagine you spent nine months preparing for a little bundle of joy and instead you give birth to a cultural awakening? She probably named the baby woke. Now she's gotta go buy books like Brown Baby Nursery Rhymes and other diverse children's stories. It's just a mess. And this isn't like getting your order wrong at a fast food restaurant where they can just
Starting point is 01:16:58 give you what you asked for. This is a baby. If you don't like it you can't just give it back. Imagine coastal fertility clinic like well ma'am I know this isn't what you ordered but what's wrong with it? It works. She said it hurt to give the baby away because in light of history she thought she should be able to sell it. Christina I am sorry you had to go through that. Okay? You bonded with the baby and I know the hardest part wasn't the mix-up. It was explaining to your husband why their baby was born with a full lineup Please give the coastal fertility clinic the biggest year
Starting point is 01:17:35 This Wow now what about when you have a baby and the baby comes out looking nothing like you but it's actually yours I'm dealing with anybody deal with that in this room. You're a clown. You're such a clown. What do you mean? It's crazy. What are you talking about? Don't ever play with me like that. What are you talking about? First of all my daughter got my eyes and we got the same blood type so don't ever play with me. Yeah. I believe the blood type. Then my eyes is Christus. How did you see that? That skin is Christus. Them eyes is Christus, that face is Christus, that skin is Christus. Yo, I know that white lady was like, what? Could you imagine they put that baby right on her chest and be like, whoa. She said she had to give away her sign.
Starting point is 01:18:14 I know that black fan, I know she was like, y'all ain't gotta take me to court, please take the baby. Take the baby, take my baby. The only thing that would have made this story better is if she was actually racist. I know, right? I I know that would be wild yeah damn what did she name the baby because she had to name the baby something Kuntin I don't know what you need but you're also idiot for the cravings to it is not Popeyes black and mouse and what else I didn't even see any collard greens yesterday that's why I can't see out of my eyes
Starting point is 01:18:46 baby please please all right all right well thank you for that dog here today what you suckin your teeth this guy Max so stupid man come here Mac Mac. What did Mac say? Oh, God. No. What? Seriously, I started talking about Popeyes. Mac's so dumb. What did you say, Mac? Mac be texting me. He texting me while you're listening. What did you say, Mac?
Starting point is 01:19:12 I'm mad as you prepared for that, baby. You bought all this sunscreen. Now you got to buy Vaseline and Jerkin' Mug shit. Jesus. Hey, damn. That's messed up. Oh, my goodness. I hate this place.
Starting point is 01:19:23 All right. When we come back, Jess Fix My Mess. 800-585-1051. If you're having relationship problems, you need to talk to Jess Caller now. It's The Breakfast Club, good morning. The Breakfast Club. Tell her, tell her, tell her, tell her.
Starting point is 01:19:38 It's the real deal. Help me, help me. Oh my God. I'm all up in your mess. I'ma fix it. Fix my mess. Jess gon' fix your mess, cause my advice is real. Morning everybody, it's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne the Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. It's time for Jess Fix My Mess.
Starting point is 01:19:58 Hello, who's this? Hello. Hey, what's your name? I have to be anonymous because I have a real issue and I need help. Alright, what are you calling from? What's that? Sister Maddie. Alright, what's your question for Jess?
Starting point is 01:20:10 Shane, you don't want to say what she was calling from, no. Alright, what's up, boo? Oh my God, okay, I got two guys, right? Oh, and I like them both, but I was dating one first and we kind of went on a hiatus or however you say that. And you know, in between that little time that little three weeks that we wasn't dealing with each other and talking, I'm in another guy. And I really really like him. Like I like him more. Let me just say that. But the first one he's
Starting point is 01:20:37 in the block and he is applying pressure. So I don't know what to do. Like he's talking about marriage, baby, moving in his house and I have my own house. So it's just a lot. Okay. But wait, but okay. So are you already letting me know that the great attributes about the first one, what about the second one? What is the second one offering?
Starting point is 01:20:58 Like what is good? Does he align with you? Like what's up? Are y'all equally? We are like, okay,? We are. Like, okay. This wheel, okay, we both have kids. And so the first one, he doesn't have kids. So this one, I feel like he's more family-oriented. He's more understanding.
Starting point is 01:21:15 He is, he's so soft to my, I'm like- Okay. Do you have kids? I'm sad, but yes, I do. I have two kids. Okay. And so do he. Okay. So how old are your your kids are they older? Yes they like to be grown. Okay I was gonna say if you got young kids then you need to deal with the
Starting point is 01:21:32 guy who got kids also because he knows how to govern with kids you know I'm saying he knows how to operate with the family. Not saying that the other guy won't you know but I don't know it is it sounds like one guy is nine out of 10 and the other one is 10 out of 10. You don't want to just go for the 10? You know what I'm saying? Cause both guys sound great, but you can't be with both guys.
Starting point is 01:21:55 He, like one is financially stable and the other one is finding his way. That is the other two things. So there we go. The financially stable one. So a lot of people trying to find their way these days and I understand. I understand. Right. But you can't beat a GPS for sometimes. So I think it's since you both feel like they qualify for you go for the one that is financially stable. Who is mentally sane? Who is the most mentally sane? How about that? The other one
Starting point is 01:22:22 that the number two is mentally sane. The one who's trying to find his way is mostly mentally sane or what? Yes, yes. He is. He don't give me no complications, no problem. The other one just like be down my throat. What you doing? Where you going? Where you being? Like, goodness. I don't like this. Alright, well it looks like you about to help a us find his way then. Because I can't. Have you ever looked into the night sky and wondered who or what was flying around up there? We've seen planes, helicopters, hot air balloons and birds. But what if there's something else, something much more ominous that appears under the cover of night?
Starting point is 01:23:04 Silent. Unseen. Watching. more ominous that appears under the cover of night, silent, unseen, watching. They may be right above your car late one night as you cruise down the road, or look like mysterious lights hovering above your home. Drones. Or are they? We used to wear a drone because it was comfortable to other people. One minute it was there and one minute it wasn't. Oh, that is beyond creepy.
Starting point is 01:23:30 Do you feel like this drone was targeting you specifically? Yes, absolutely. Starting point is 01:25:06 I'm solving a mystery through sex and haven't made a private dick joke until now? Like, no matter how hard I try, all roads lead to the hookup. You think it's causing people to turn aggro? I'm gonna rip your arms off and use them to- Yeah, that's a word for it. This is such terrible representation, I'm so sorry.

Starting point is 01:27:00 Just Fix My Mess, 800-585-1051 if you need advice, relationship advice, call her now it's The Breakfast Club, good morning. Morning everybody it's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious. Charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club in the middle of just fix my mess Hello, who's this? Hey, what's up, bro? What's your question for Jess? Yes. I need to help There so that was a while back. I had a lot of infidelity incident With my wife, so she doesn't trust me when it comes to social media. Now I didn't do anything physical, it was strictly emotional, but on the
Starting point is 01:27:51 flip side I use social media for like bookings and gigs and all of that stuff. So I guess is there a way for me to reassure her in that aspect that I'm not doing anything outside of that? Like she has to access all of my stuff. She can open my phone, go through whatever she needs to go through. But I don't know how to reassure her that I'm not doing anything. Man, that's that's what you have to do. You wouldn't mean you don't know how. I mean, she got all your stuff that she still treats you like she don't trust you.
Starting point is 01:28:18 Or what? Like what's happening to make her? I mean, because that has to be a reason that you you call it me. Like she's still acting like she don't trust you or what she mad at you her mood swings up and down like what in a way if I little in your windows like oh I know you're doing yeah now you said a while back what is a while back to you like two years ago okay so two years ago you you should now now what level of cheating was it? What is it like a full-on affair? Did she catch you texting? Did you take somebody out?
Starting point is 01:28:49 What to what level did it get because if it's two years ago and this it depends on the level of cheap it was more so just Conversation that shouldn't have been had and the I guess the frequency of the conversations Okay frequency. If that makes sense. Yeah, no I get it. It was deep, the conversation was deep and it was a little too deep.
Starting point is 01:29:12 Yeah. And inappropriate for your girl mind to not wonder two years later, you found me. So you have to, you absolutely have to just keep reassuring her y'all. I don't care what you rubbed them feet, you tell her how beautiful she is, you just gotta keep doing that.
Starting point is 01:29:28 Because obviously she's still there so it's a part of her that don't want to give up. You know what I mean? It's a big part that don't want to give up. Because if this happened two years ago and it was bothering her that bad and it hurt her that bad, she would have been gone. But it's a part that she's holding on to, but she just still has that in the back of her mind no matter what. You know, because she, once you give somebody your all, yo, and then they, you know, you
Starting point is 01:29:53 hurt me in any type of way, it's hard to even, you know, get back to what we once were. You know what I mean? So that you're going to be rich for a long time. And I know they say that there's like no time for healing Yeah, but I'm just trying to figure out how to like catapult this thing. Yeah. Yeah, I know You just got to keep working at it. Don't give up Shane. Give up on you Don't give up on her, you know what I mean? Because this is the bed that you made, you know Yeah, I appreciate that but hey, just got a one more thing to you before I go. What's that?
Starting point is 01:30:23 Hey, so your show in Tampa, right? I've been trying to hit you up, blow you up on social media. I think you've been ignoring me or your team maybe and catch my messages. Look, let me open up for you man. Oh, so, yo, no, I haven't. Yo, so many people that be hitting me online and DM and stuff. So no, I don't ignore people. I really don't.
Starting point is 01:30:44 I have a two man show, so it's just me and my brother. He does 30 minutes at a time, does the Alexander, and then I do an hour, some change. I don't even, mm, I don't really do openers like that. Because I do, I use openers sometimes, but not all the time, you know, and this is a casino. If I was doing like the comedy club, I would have you, brother, I would do that, you know, but for the bigger venues, I like to keep the show tight
Starting point is 01:31:08 You know, we already got our stuff airtight and it's just you know, what if you got a hot 45 seconds? Oh I'm a musician. I gotta do is entertain them for one song One song For the people but that's something different you never had it on your show I don't think that that's the vibe that that that Is just hilarious notilarious, sir. But you have a good one, brother. Good luck with your relationship. Get your girl back. Play the saxophone for her. Damn. Sound advice. Jess, fix my mess. And go to JessHilariousOfficial.com
Starting point is 01:31:54 for tickets for her Tampa show this week. That's right. 800-585-1051. Now we got Jess with the mess coming up. Yes, Anthony Edwards had a little moment with Obama and people coming at him. Alright. We'll get to that next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:32:07 Morning everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarion, Charlamagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jess with the Mess. The news is real, but Hilarion is Jessica Robin Moore. Jess don't do no lying. She don't spare nobody. Worldwide Jess.
Starting point is 01:32:20 Worldwide Mess. On the Breakfast Club. She's a spare nobody. World wide Jess, world wide Mazz. On the Breakfast Club. She was able to get y'all to see something and understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to set it off. Alright, we got some things to get to, but first Anthony Edwards, no what exactly did
Starting point is 01:32:43 he say? Because I don't really feel like what he said was bad about Obama that got people on his ass. What was it? Okay, so Anthony Edwards had an exchange with Obama on the critical, the Netflix documentary that- Basketball player Anthony Edwards. Yes, basketball player Anthony Edwards.
Starting point is 01:32:56 Is it another one? It might be. People might not know who he is. It is a very common black name. It is Anthony Edwards. Exactly. I thought Anthony was with Obama. Yeah, cuts it from around the corner. Exactly. It is a very common black name. Anthony was with old Bob.
Starting point is 01:33:06 Yeah, cuts it from around the corner. But yeah, so the Netflix documentary is called Critical and it goes behind the scenes of men's basketball at the Olympics, the 2024 Olympics in Paris. And Obama's in the documentary. He's narrating a part of it and him and Anthony Edwards have this like mini conversation that has made people really upset. Anthony, let's take a listen. What are you thinking about this young guy?
Starting point is 01:33:25 He can hook a little bit. Huh? This is a little bit. Huh? Y'all better stand down. The truth. You say the truth. He said the truth.
Starting point is 01:33:33 Yeah, he boy. No, goodbye. Are y'all talking to this young man? Because right now he just said he's the truth and all that and the truth the whole truth of nothing but the truth. You asked him you tell him the whole context of the situation though you asked him what he think about this young man and he said i'm okay i said i'm the truth he's tripping that's what happened i'm wrong with it say nothing wrong with this we gotta have that yeah that man the truth got to have a swag like that
Starting point is 01:33:59 baby what's wrong with that conversation the way that people regard obama were so upset like they're like, why are you talking? Why was he? Exactly exactly in context Anthony Edwards when he says oh Obama was asking him he's talking about Joe and B cuz that's what Obama was talking to But people were upset about it saying it was disrespectful that it they were even asked it There was some people even saying like hey, he should apologize for this. That was not respectful that they were even asking there was some people even saying like hey he should apologize for this that was not President it's amazing how people act like they hate respectability politics, but then love to engage in respectability politics Yeah, we did nothing wrong president Obama is just a man
Starting point is 01:34:36 and if you want to insert yourself and engage in a real n-word conversation with a Come to a whyN hooping. Exactly. You know what I'm saying? When they get busy, so. That's his craft. And Andy Edwards gets busy. He gets busy and he be, oh, I'm just okay now, I'm the troop.
Starting point is 01:34:54 And he was shooting at both of them. He was at Joel and Barack. And then Barack had to call in somebody his age. LeBron, LeBron, LeBron. That basically was like, hey man, get this YN away from me. Can I get some? I feel like the Chuckles, I mean, he, LeBron, I mean, not LeBron. Obama.
Starting point is 01:35:09 Obama, he was chilling too. Yeah, he wasn't really. Yeah, it was a locker room conversation. Honestly, people just took it, they took it like. It was just a second. Don't get it twisted. Obama plays basketball so he knows what it is. Yeah, he ain't seen Anthony Edwards though.
Starting point is 01:35:23 But it's a conversation of it. Yeah. It's a disconnect though. Like he can have those conversations with Michael Jordan, you know those conversations with Maddie Johnson, because they around his age. He can have those conversations with LeBron. Little Y and Anthony Edwards ain't trying to hear it.
Starting point is 01:35:35 You gon' throw that full shot at me now. I'm just okay. In fact, I take your old ass out there right now and cross you out. I dunk on you right now, President Obama. Nuts in the face. Why are we acting like Obama asked for 101 or something? All he did was say what's up with this young fella.
Starting point is 01:35:49 Don't call me okay. I'm the truth, don't call me okay. He know that's why he asked. Oh you wanna play me a ball right now? You got eyes, you got eyes? Oh you getting old huh, you can't see? You ain't never seen me out there on that court huh, president Obama.
Starting point is 01:36:00 Yo OG you good, you all right? That's what he telling me, checking the temperature. I don't see the problem with what Anthony Able did at all. I think it was all love, but I thought the moment was so funny because I'm like, well, since when? It's just clowned out. Y'all coming to the defense of President Obama's white side.
Starting point is 01:36:11 His black side can handle that situation. I'm just saying, moving on. Speaking of white side, black side. Yeah, so the food stamps and the white man. What happened? That's all I saw. That's what I saw. Food stamps and the white man. What happened? That's all I saw. Food stamps and the white man. Yes. So Tamara Maori, Tia Tamara, Tamara Maori's husband, Adam Housley, who is, you know, he's
Starting point is 01:36:33 been very vocal about how he feels politically. He came out and he posted a tweet and the tweet, it's gotten some people upset. He was talking about SNAP food stamps and how it's being used. So he said, as a kid who grew up in a neighborhood grocery store since I was five, I can't tell you how many times I saw people coming and buy crap food for their kids with food stamps. Then open the wallet, use cash for liquor,
Starting point is 01:36:57 beer, wine, and cigarettes. Then there were those who would repeatedly buy a lemon or a lime, get changed, walk out the door, throw them away, do it again until they had enough change to buy cigarettes or alcohol. As a kid it pissed me off because there are so many people who could really use the help and then there are others who are working the system. Now what he's referring to and what he was commenting on is the fact that RFK Jr. and
Starting point is 01:37:19 team are now working to make it where when you have snapper food stamps you cannot buy certain processed foods, sugary drinks or candy because they say if so the junk food for the kids period but just junk food and certain processed foods as well too now the reason why they're trying to do this is because they're saying it taxpayer dollars shouldn't be paying for that like if taxpayer dollars are paying for this you should buy your kid healthy food boy when he tweeted that the alarms go off the Of course. Oh yeah, the people were responding
Starting point is 01:37:46 and basically saying you are super rich, you're a silver spoon leech, you need to mind your business. People were atting Tamara like, yo, dish it in. Don't tell me what foods I gotta buy. I don't know where you see that. Like, come on. Where you going next, like, how to say something?
Starting point is 01:38:00 The funny thing about the internet is people be arguing about age old discussions. This is not new. Like, public health and medical officials been saying that they shouldn't allow you to use food stamps to buy junk food. Like they've been saying this for years. Isn't it a new conversation? It's just the fact that he's white. I think it's the messenger. Because they try to spin it into, oh you want to take money out of, or assistance out of parent, mother's homes and families in need. And he's like, yo that's not
Starting point is 01:38:24 even what I was saying. What I'm saying is people who take advantage of this, they're hurting the mothers more and we should be doing something about it. You can't use SNAP and food stamps for alcohol. It's the same thing. And then I also want people to understand it's not only black people that receive SNAP benefits too. That's in the comments too. Yeah they made it a race stamp. Yeah it's like yo black people are not the only one that received that. You know what I mean? So, yeah, I get it.
Starting point is 01:38:47 Okay, well we don't have time for the last one or do we? Because I really want to get to this. This is Tank. This is my fighter. It's my guy, yo. Alright, fast, fast, fast. Alright, drop the audio. This is Tank on Floyd.
Starting point is 01:38:57 He sat down with J-Hill on a podcast. J-Hill from Baltimore City. I was in a lose-lose situation and now what came out still on top? With Floyd? What was the lose-lose situation? What you mean? It was a situation that he put me in, but he thought I was going to lose. What was it on your mind? Uh, Joseph Pedraza, my first world title.
Starting point is 01:39:12 I was 16 and 0, and I was 21 at the time, and I haven't fought in like 7 or 8 months. When they came back and was like, alright, you gotta fight, he was like, you gotta fight this fighter, which Rosa Pedroza? If you don't fight him, you know, you not fighting you like you sitting on a shelf Do you think Floyd did that intentionally? Yeah for sure. Like why would he try to Diminish your career they were saying I was messing with daughter off of the fact that she kept snapchatting Okay kept hitting me on the snapchat. So they sent it to Floyd and Floyd bugged out so he was supposed to lose that fight that's what that's what I mean that's what he feels like
Starting point is 01:39:53 he was dating Lord Shorty he said he wasn't I mean I didn't but it was like you know there was there was something there was something happening with snapchat he's saying that fluid was upset but another part of the interview we don't have time to play but another part of the interview that people got upset about, not upset, but people were responding to was when he, at one point he said he was better than Floyd and then he took it back and he was like, well, maybe, you know, if I'm kind of like,
Starting point is 01:40:15 if I'm fully on my game, I could see him somewhat. Like people were like, you know, you talk about Floyd Mayweather, right? You know, but I think it's just Tank throwing his weight around because he's Tank. Tank get busy, but Tank gotta start fighting some real competition. Yeah but yeah and maybe that's why that's not cuz I think the hype around him I mean tank is tank He's superstar, but the height worked it depends on who he's fighting and some of the fights now I just be like I know I'm be honest I never heard a roach until I heard that tank is about to fight him So, you know, but I I feel like I don't know a lot of the people that tank fighting till he fights them, right? Well, so that is just with the mess All right. Well, let's get to the people's choice mix. It's the breakfast club. Good morning You're checking out the breakfast club morning. Everybody is dj envy just hilarious. Charlamagne the guy We are the breakfast club is It's Black History Month. Who we repping today? Well you know, every day during Black History Month, my guy B.Dot puts out an episode of
Starting point is 01:41:30 I Didn't Know Maybe You Didn't Either, which is some things that you may or may not have known about black history. And today he's gonna take you on a wild ride through black history, where thriving black communities were burned down literally and their land was stolen by greedy corporations. Let's discuss.
Starting point is 01:41:51 Even after all that the Klan wasn't done. In 1932 they burned down the Paul Ding courthouse. Now this wasn't just some random arson. That was strategic because that courthouse held the land records for the black families in Jasper County, Mississippi Meanwhile the records for the white families were chilling in another courthouse miles away untouched real convenient No, then a few years later along comes a company called Masonite. They're like, oh wow Look at all this land just sitting here. Guess it's ours. They ended up with over 9,500 acres of land. And we've already done the measurements of acreage this season.
Starting point is 01:42:32 One acre is roughly the size of a football field. 9,500 football fields worth of land that used to belong to black families. And let me tell you, that land wasn't just sitting there looking pretty. It was full of oil, timber, and gas. Millions of dollars came out of it, but not a dime went back to the original owners. You see, this the stuff they don't teach you in school. That's why we have I Didn't Know Maybe You Didn't either. Because see, they'll give you dates, wars, and treaties, but they skip over the part where entire black communities were systemically erased not because they weren't successful, but because they were successful.
Starting point is 01:43:10 In this situation, it was titled imminent domain. And this ain't just some dusty old story. It's a reminder that the game has been rigged for a very long time. So if you're sitting here listening today thinking, what can I do? Learn these stories, share these podcasts podcast episodes, challenge the systems that allow this to happen and keep showing up because black excellence isn't just a moment, it's a legacy. And no matter how hard they try, they can't burn that away. And I didn't know.
